iii. Luthor
read on ao3
She got hit by a bus. She definitely got hit by a bus.
No, no, wait.
She's-
"You're awake. Oh, thank God."
When her eyes blink open, it's to the extremely bright florescent lights of the DEO med bay. Senses come back to her slowly; the sharp smell of alcohol, the dry cool sheets against her skin, and Alex.
Alex's voice, then her heartbeat.
She tries to sit up but Alex puts a hand on her shoulder, gently pushes her back down.
"Ugh," she groans as dizziness overtakes her. "How long was I out?"
"30 hours, give or take. You need to take it easy, Kara,” her sister sighs. “You’re lucky we got to you when we did. Lillian got away though, I’m sorry.”
“T-they had Kryptonite, Alex.”
“I know.”
She breathes in deep, lets it out through parted lips, hand coming up to massage her temple.
“Lena? Where’s Lena?”
“Nia said she found her passed out on your bed,” Alex says, adjusting the sunlamps so it isn’t glaring into Kara’s face. “She’s been staying vigil by your side since yesterday. That woman needs to learn how to rest. I swear to God, the both of you—”
“What?” she asks.
“I wanna go home,” she tells her. Alex makes a sound of protest, so Kara argues, “You know you hit two stones with one bird if you keep us together.”
She hears Alex halt in her movements.
She squints against the remaining brightness of the unadjusted sunlamp. Her sister arms frozen mid-way.
Alex is giving her a strange look.
Alex’s eyes narrow at her.
“What did you say?” Alex demands. “Just now, what did you say? Did you say two stones with one bird?”
Kara shakes her head, trying to clear her thoughts enough to rewind back the last few seconds. She finds she can’t remember. She was saying something about Lena, about-
Going home?????
Her head feels fuzzy. Heavy.
“Mm’sorry must still be a bit out of it.”
“I’m doing another scan,” her sister says, words final and Kara groans loudly.
“Ughh, Alex. Please. I want to go home. There’s probably nothing wrong.”
Alex wheels her out nonetheless.
******
Something is wrong.
Something is very wrong.
“Alex?”
She doesn’t understand, why is- why does Alex look like that? Alex’s eyes are bloodshot. What- Why is her head fuzzy? Why is she-
She pulls a hand to her temple. She can’t. A metallic clang echoes.
She’s cuffed; strapped and held-down. There are restraints around her ankles, her waist even.
And then it occurs to her, the whole room is bathed in red.
Red sun emulators.
What?
Why?
There is a familiar buzzing in her ears, too. Tinny. Painful.
Kryptonite.
“Alex,” she croaks.
Her sister is standing stiffly at the far end of the bed (if you can even call this piece of metal a bed.). Her lips set in a thin line. There are dark bags under her eyes. Kara feels like shit. But Alex, Alex looks like shit.
“W-what’s happening? Wha- why am I—”
Rao, even her mouth feels disgusting.
“Wha-what happened?”
******
Game night comes early. It’s only the middle of the week, but everyone had decided to camp out at Kara’s living room floor after her kidnapping and mini-coma adventure just last night. So, Wednesday game night it is.
Everything is warm and good, Kara thinks, as she hums contently under her breath.
She’s filled with potstickers and wine. Her head on Alex’s lap, her sock-clad feet and calf being massaged by Lena on the opposite end. Nia is laughing loudly at something Kelly said, and Kara lets herself melt against the couch cushions.
“Darling,” Lena says, tapping a hand on her thigh. Kara looks at her, sees her gesturing at her empty glass, and promptly removes her legs off of her lap.
Alex’s fingers stop running through her scalp, as she reaches across to hand Lena her wine glass, too.
“Hey, Luthor, can you also-”
Everything goes black.
******
It happens so fast.
Alex was just deciding whether or not to switch from wine to brandy, when Kara lunges straight for Lena.
J’onn instantly transforms into Martian form at the commotion, and Alex is still sitting there; stunned, wine glass still clutched by the stem, as she watches Kara pin Lena to the floor, as she hears Lena shriek, as the room bursts into action.
Alex sees the glow of Kara’s eyelids, and it sparks her into action. She jumps from the couch and latches onto Kara’s back.
Her hands press into her sister’s eyes and immediately she can feel the heat filter through her skin. “J’onn!!” she shouts, Alex manages to pull Kara off of Lena, as J’onn grabs the brunette to safety.
Kara growls, stands up with Alex clinging. Kara grabs her, flips her over. She crashes on the floor with a sickening thud. Kelly gasps out her name. From here, she can see how Nia has wrapped her girlfriend and Lena into a bubble of forcefield.
Just as Kara is about to turn around and head for Lena, J’onn flies straight at her, grabs her sister by the arm, and crashes into Kara’s TV. J’onn manages to wrestle her into his grip, and he flies them out through Kara’s window.
Brainy picks her up from the floor. Her heart is beating so fast in her chest. How did she miss this? What has gotten into Kara?
Alex is panicking, all of them are panicking really.
What the fuck just happened?
“Brainy,” Alex says, voice firm, the cloudiness from the alcohol finally clearing. “Get the Legion ship, we need to track down Kara and J’onn. Disperse Kryptonite on sight. We have to detain her.”
Alex looks around the room, Nia retracts her forcefield, Kelly goes straight for her.
“Go,” Kelly says, “I’ll take care of the neighbors, I’ll take care of the mess here. Go. Find Kara.”
“I’ll stay with her,” Nia pipes up and Alex gives her a stiff nod.
She looks at Lena, red marks already blossoming on her neck.
“Are you o-”
“Do not ask me that.” Lena warns. “Now, let’s go. I’m coming with you.”
******
“You’re in the Legion ship,” Alex tells her sister, “what’s the last thing you remember?”
The base of her skull throbs with pain. “I-I don’t- I can’t remember. Ugh. Alex, can you- can you turn down the Kryptonite? Please, please?”
“I can’t, Kara. I’m sorry, please. I can’t-”
“Why?” Kara rasps out, her eyes closing shut.
“I need you to listen to me, Kara,” her sister says, she hears her stepping closer. “I need you to keep calm when I tell you.”
Kara’s heart beats faster, skin crawling at every awful thought curling from the depths of her mind.
“I-I’m calm. I’ll keep calm,” she promises, “please, Alex. Please, tell me.”
“CADMUS did something to you, Kara.”
******
Kara’s going to be sick.
She hurt Lena. Oh, Rao, she hurt Lena.
“Kara, Kara, listen to me.” Alex’s voice is distant, far-away. “Lena is fine. She’s fine. It wasn’t your fault.”
But it was her fault. She hurt her, her hands wrapped around Lena’s fragile human neck, and she almost lasered two holes into her pretty skull.
Oh, Rao. She almost killed her.
“Don’t let her near me,” she instructs, voice firm but eyes flashing with unshed tears.
“Kara, no. I don’t think she—”
“No. No, Alex, listen to me,” she urges her sister.
“Keep her away from me.”
*****
There are wires connected to her temple and her spine.
Brainy is sitting next to her bed, typing away on a little screen in front of him.
Her hippocampus and most of her somatic nervous system were experimented on, it seems. It was Kelly who cracked it, they tell her.
Kara’s brain was reconditioned in the short amount of time she spent in that CADMUS facility. A code word implanted to trigger her.
Luthor.
What a cruel joke.
*****
The next time Kara wakes, she is warm.
So warm, and-
Not alone.
She gasps loud. Lena is here. Lena is tucked to her side. Her breaths tickling Kara’s collarbone.
Lena is not supposed to be here.
Kara’s squirming seems to rouse her.
“Mmmm, stop thinking so loud, 'm trying to sleep.”
“Lena—” Her voice is bordering on hysterical.
“Shhhhh.” Lena shifts, ignoring Kara’s racing heart, ignoring Kara’s protests, just presses closer to her, lips kissing her collarbone.
“Nothing could ever keep me away from you, y'know," she slurs sleepily, "not even you, Kara Zor-El.”
Lena’s eyes are still closed, and Rao, Kara doesn’t even remember the last time she saw her like this. So pretty, so peaceful, so relaxed.
“Lena, you’re not supposed to be here. It’s not safe. Please, listen to me.”
Tears fall down from Kara’s cheek onto Lena’s skin. The contact seems to finally wake Lena.
“Oh, oh, darling,” she coos, hands coming up to cup Kara’s face. The blonde leans into the touch, presses her lips to Lena's palm, uses the touch to stifle her sobs.
“You’re not going to hurt me, Kara. You’re not,” Lena tells her, resolute and so full of trust.
Kara can still see the marks on Lena’s neck where her fingers have dug into her skin, and this time a sob breaks free from her throat.
“Lena, I could hurt you, please. Please, leave now.”
“Oh, Kara,” Lena murmurs, “you know I could never do that.”
Why is she so effin stubborn?
“I’m not scared of you, you know?” Lena whispers. She hooks a finger under Kara’s chin, “Look at me, look at me, Kara. I am not afraid of you. I am not going to leave you. I will never leave you.”
“You don’t understand. Lena, I hurt you.”
“No,” Lena answers her, “no, you did not hurt me. They made you hurt me. That wasn’t you, Kara. You will never hurt me.”
“No,” Kara echoes, voice breaking, eyes shining, “no, I would never hurt you. I never wanted to hurt you. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
“I know, baby, I know.” Lena wipes the tears flowing on her cheeks, kisses them away. “We’ll figure it out together, okay?”
“Nothing can keep me away from you, you hear me?” Lena tells her, and all Kara can do is nod silently, sniffling. Lena presses a soft kiss to her lips and lets Kara break apart in her arms.

Crushed
Stuck under a collapsed building together, Chat Noir and Marinette have a heart to heart.
Ao3 | FF.net
I originally wrote this as a secret santa gift, but it strayed too far from what the giftee wanted, so I did something else. I decided to finish this anyway, and I hope you like it!
This akuma attack was not going great. He called himself ‘Bomb Voyage’ (“Like in the Incredibles?” “Yes, Chat. I do believe Hawkmoth ripped that name.”) And he was blowing things up right and left.
When the Lucky Charm bullhorn fell into her hands, she had some sort of plan in the works, but it all fell short at Chat’s shout.
“My Lady! Look out!”
The building right in front of her, mere feet away, exploded suddenly, the only clue being Bomb Voyage’s finger point.
There was no time to run. No time for Chat to scoop her up. Only impending destruction and carnage.
So Chat leapt, his arms wrapping around her head, and tackled her to the ground as the rubble rained down.
It felt like ages of pain before things settled. They both coughed out lungfuls of plaster dust that still hung in the air. It was mostly dark, with a scant bit of light from above.
Chat was squished, but he pushed up on his arms and felt Ladybug move slightly.
“My Lady?” He asked. “Are you alright?”
“My leg hurts. I may have sprained my ankle. How are you?”
“I took a brunt force to the back when the building collapsed. It hurts, but...I can’t really feel my legs.”
“Chat...”
“Though, that could just be bad circulation. I’m in an awkward position.”
Ladybug’s earrings chirped.
“Crap,” she muttered. “I used my lucky charm. Do you think you can cataclysm your way out of here?”
He twisted his neck in an effort to look around, though the dust of the rubble was still thick. He looked towards the light source above them, able to see where it was coming from, but it looked several feet away. “Negative, my lady. I think we might need some outside help for this one.”
She bit her lip nervously. “I don’t hear anymore explosions.”
“That’s good. Right? Maybe Hawkmoth thinks we got crushed and stopped his akuma.”
“Yeah, that’s great…unless he’s got someone waiting to take our Miraculous’ off our corpses when we’re dug out of here.”
“Ever the optimist, hmm?”
“It’s my talent,” she smirked. Her earrings beeped again and she turned her ear toward Chat. “How much time do I have left?”
“Looks like two minutes.”
“Great…”
“I can close my eyes.” He offered. They were basically nose to nose, and her hands where trapped below his arms, so she couldn’t reach up at all.
“I…I don’t know…”
He raised his eyebrows. “You don’t know?”
“We need to find a way out of here,” she switched topics. “Or find a way to contact emergency services to get us out.”
“My baton is still on my back, if you can reach it.”
Ladybug groped around blindly, feeling for the staff.
“That’s my butt.”
“Oh, sorry.” She blushed, and then moved her hand up. Once she found it, she held it out to her side as she could see the screen. “I’m about to detransform, but I have a cookie for Tikki in my purse. As long as it’s still there, she should be able to recharge before they bust us out of here.”
“I didn’t even think about that,” Chat winced.
Ladybug dialed the number.
“112, what’s your emergency?”
“Hello, this is Ladybug and Chat Noir. We’re in a bit of a pickle.”
“How can we help, Ladybug?”
“A building collapsed on us, and we’re pinned and can’t get out. We’re on Rue de Lappe, not far from Bastille.”
“I’ve got your location on my map. I’m sending the fire department your way.”
“Is there any sign of the Akuma?”
“We’ve gotten similar calls about being trapped, but they stopped coming in a few minutes ago.”
“Thank you. I’m going to extend Chat’s Baton out through the rubble so they can find us.”
“Alright, I will pass that information along. Good luck, Ladybug!”
“Thank you!” Carefully, Ladybug aimed the Baton towards the little hole to the surface, and extended the staff, the top breaking through the topside.
“And now...we wait.” Her earrings beeped again.
“So...you don’t want me to close my eyes?” Chat asked for clarification.
“I’ve been thinking...if I’m the guardian, and something happens to Plagg, like he gets sick or something, you need to be able to find me out of the suit, you know? It’s just you and me...”
“Does that mean you want to know my identity?”
She grimaced. “I should but—“
In a flash of pink, Marinette remained, looking sheepishly at him. “...I need a little time to come to terms with this.”
His eyes were impossibly wide, staring at her, drinking her in in the scant light. “Marinette? Marinette Dupain-Cheng?”
“Howdy?” She squeaked.
He squeezed his eyes shut.
“Chat?” She asked, fearfully.
“Sorry,” he whispered. He opened his eyes again, and his lip wobbled. “I just—I’m trying really hard not to cry.” Despite this, a tear fell from his eye and landed on her cheek.
She tried not to cry herself. “Are you that upset?” She whispered.
“Upset?! No! How could I ever—Marinette, I’m thrilled beyond belief! If it was anyone else—“ he clenched his eyes shut again, as more tears started to fall. “I admire you, and trust you, and respect you more than anyone else.”
“Chat...”
He smiled tenderly. “You know, I had hunches. I was almost completely certain until Kwamibuster, too!”
That made her wince again. “Oh Chat, you know I didn’t mean to lie to you...”
“I know, I know, at the time, it was too risky.” He continued to smile, his tears subsiding. “I know this isn’t ideal, but I’m glad I get to see you now.”
“Kinda makes Evillustrator funny, huh?”
He laughed. “You’re right! I forgot about that! Hey! You called yourself cute!”
“I am cute!” She pouted.
“You are cute,” he agreed, taking her in. “I’ve stared at your face a lot, but you look so so different without the mask.”
“It’s the glamour,” she elaborated. “That extra bit of magic that makes it hard to connect the dots.”
“I know how it works,” he smirked.
“Right...sorry, this is just...weird.”
“Good weird?”
“I feel naked.”
“You just say the word, and I’ll get naked with you.”
She threw him an unamused look. “Don’t be gross.”
“Sorry, I can’t help cracking jokes around you. Although, I’m sure you were wishing I was secret mystery boy right now instead, right?” He waggled his eyebrows in an attempt to hide his heartache. “So who is it? It’s Luka, right?”
It was like she had her mask on again, cheeks red as a tomato. “No...it’s not Luka.”
“Oh...aren’t you guys dating?”
“Not anymore. We did, for like a week. If you could even call it dating. He just came over to my house during my downtime, and played his guitar while I worked on commissions and stuff. It was nice and all...but I prefer the piano.” She looked away.
“Piano, hmm?” He smirked. “You know, I’m an excellent piano player...and the real mystery guy is too?”
“You can’t laugh.”
“I would never.”
“I doubt that,” she said flatly.
“I promise, I know you don’t like people shallowly. So whoever it is, I know it’s genuine.” He smiled softly, encouragingly.
Marinette screwed up her lips and admitted, begrudgingly. “Fine. It’s Adrien. Adrien Agreste.”
The sound that Chat let out was not a laugh. But it wasn’t a great sign. It was like a wheeze, but a gurgle.
“What’s wrong?”
“I just...” he blinked several times, trying to convince himself this wasn’t a dream. Ladybug was Marinette! And she had a crush on him! “I...am surprised, is all. I didn’t know you were...close?”
“I sit behind him in class. He’s one of my best friends. Our best friends are dating, so sometimes we end up being third wheels together?”
“Oh. And this is the same guy as before?”
“It’s always been Adrien.”
Chat hoped she couldn’t hear the pounding in his chest. “Oh...even when Glaciator hit? When I found you sad on your balcony?”
“Yep. He was supposed to meet us for ice cream, and he didn’t show...I kind of told Andre that love was bogus, and that’s why he got akumatized.”
Chat laughed at that. “Aww, it’s okay, Marinette. I’m sure he had a good reason for not showing up...”
“I’m used to it,” she said dully. “His father is a huge pain in the ass. I used to respect him, but now...he’s a jerk. He constantly holds Adrien’s freedom ransom to make him do stuff. It kills me! You know when I was in New York?”
“Yeah?”
“I had to beg his father to let him go. It was a class trip, and he was the only one not allowed to go! Just because his father is so concerned with his safety.”
“Can you blame the man? We’re currently trapped under a pile of rumble.”
“But as soon as I’m out, I’ll lucky charm and cure everything! Poof! Sprained ankle gone! Whatever’s wrong with you, gone!”
“What do you think your parents would do if they found out you were Ladybug?”
Marinette thought for a moment, and answered honestly. “Probably be sort of angry, and worried. But I think they would understand. They respect us a lot, even after my dad got akumatized.”
“Don’t remind me.” He groaned.
“What about your parents?” She asked.
“My mom would have been excited. I think. Worried too, but excited for me. But my father...well, he’d rip off my miraculous and make sure I never saw the light of day again.”
“That bad, hm?”
“I’m not exaggerating. I’m in the same boat as Adrien, extremely sheltered.”
“I’m sorry,” she smiled softly. “I didn’t know.”
“I didn’t really want you to know. Chat Noir is supposed to be my safe place, my wild and crazy side. I’m afraid if I start talking about home, I’ll admit things that civilian me doesn’t want to.” He exhaled, his chest bumping with hers. “God, it is just so easy to talk to you. Now more than ever.”
“Really? You know me that well?”
“I know enough. And maybe it’s just because I’ve got you pinned and you can’t go anywhere.”
She laughed at that. “Well, we’ll probably be here for a while. And...I still want you to hide your identity for a while, but if you want to talk about your life a little more, that’s fine.”
“You sure?”
“Yes. It really is time for us to know who each other are, I’m just...not ready.” She huffed, and his bangs fluttered. “This was unavoidable, but let’s plan for your reveal, so I can be emotionally prepared.”
“You won’t be. You will cry.”
“You say that with an awful lot of certainty.”
“Trust me, when you behold me in all of my unmasked glory, you’ll cry.”
“Alright. Can’t wait to prove you wrong.”
He smirked.
“Chat? Are you shivering?”
“Uh…yeah, kinda.”
“Are you cold?”
“Not…not exactly. I’m holding up a lot of rumble so it doesn’t crush you…and I’m pretty claustrophobic.”
“Why didn’t you say anything earlier!?”
He laughed, but it lacked any mirth and was filled with quiet panic. “Uh, just…you know…trying to stay calm.”
“What can I do to help?”
He exhaled shakily. “I don’t know, but talking about it isn’t helping.”
“Okay, well, why don’t you keep eye contact with me, and…let’s just talk.”
“About what?”
“I know you’ve got a whole list of questions you’ve been dying to ask me. Now’s your chance.”
“Damn it!” He nearly shouted. “I had a whole notebook full of questions I wanted to ask you, but it’s at my house!”
“Well, you know where I live, so you can ask me some other time if you want.”
“Deal!” He screwed up his lips. “But first, since you mentioned it, Weredad.”
“Oh god…”
“Why did you say you were in love with me?”
She winced. “To be quite honest, I thought you were going to find out who I was…and the poor excuse just flew out of me before I could think through the consequences. I didn’t think my dad would overhear anything, and I didn’t think you’d show up for brunch.”
“You didn’t think I’d show up? Me? The biggest gentleman in Paris?”
“Okay fine, I hoped you wouldn’t show up.” She rolled her eyes.
“Now that I’m thinking about it, there’s a lot of shenanigans that could have been prevented if—hold the phone, how did you do Multimouse?!”
“Fox miraculous,” she shrugged.
“The Fox! Of course!”
She laughed, his reaction calming her nerves. “I understand what you mean now, it’s easy to talk to you. It’s always easy, but I didn’t notice until you said it.”
He wouldn’t meet her eyes. “You don’t always feel that way.”
“I mean, I get frustrated with your jokes when I’m trying to be serious, but that doesn’t mean—“
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Oh?”
He swallowed thickly. “Civilian me…you…you have a hard time…” He trailed off, not looking at her face.
“Chat?”
“Did you ever tell Adrien? That you…you know?”
She tilted her head at the sudden topic change. “Uh…no. I tried, but it was never meant to be. Every time I did, something would go catastrophically wrong.”
“Like what?”
“Like...I gave him this scarf, right? For his birthday. And I forgot to sign it initially, so I snuck into his house and left a sticky note on it. Somehow, it still managed to go wrong, and he thought it was from his dad.”
Chat stared at her, wide eyed. “And you never told him?”
“No, he was happy believing that it was from his dad. His happiness is all I want.”
It was hard to describe the look on Chat’s face. Almost pained, but still full of love. Like seeing something so precious it brings you to tears. “You did that for him? You really love him that much?”
She looked away, “Unfortunately.”
“Why unfortunately? Is he a jerk?”
“No, not at all. I just…I know he doesn’t love me back. ‘Oh Marinette, you’re such a great friend.’ ‘I’m so glad I have a friend like you.’ ‘Please stay my friend forever!’” She shook her head. “That boy has me firmly friend-zoned.”
He winced, “I’m sure he didn’t mean it like that. He probably really really likes you, and just wants you to know how much he appreciates your friendship.”
“And that’s another reason I can’t confess. He doesn’t have a lot of friends, and I don’t want to ruin our friendship.” She groaned. “I sound so pathetic! It’s so stupid.” She shook her head. “I wish I had your bravery.”
“My bravery isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. It’s gotten me hurt pretty badly, after all.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize,” he smiled at her softly. “You feel how you feel, and I just hurt myself.” He gnawed at his lip. “Actually…can I ask a really dumb question?”
“I don’t see why not.”
“You don’t have to answer it…actually, no. I shouldn’t ask at all. Nevermind.”
“Well now you have to ask,” she chuckled. “I’m curious.”
He rolled his eyes. “Okay, but don’t hate me.”
She nodded him on.
“Why…why did you go out with Luka if you knew I loved you? Do you also like Luka? Or…are you just that…repulsed by me?”
Marinette’s mouth fell open in quiet shock, and she inhaled some dust. She turned so she wouldn’t cough in his face at least.
“Sorry,” he tried to sooth. “I told you it was stupid. You can date whoever you want…”
She cleared her throat, and then wheezed out. “You just wanted it to be you.”
“…yeah…”
“Chat,” she leaned up to tap her nose against his. “To say I have absolutely no feelings for you would be a lie.”
He looked hopeful. “Really?”
“They’re still developing. But I noticed thoughts I have about you sometimes. Missing you, thinking you’re cute…but Luka was the safer option at the time. I was trying desperately to get over Adrien. Luka and I weren’t really friends first, so if it didn’t work out, it wasn’t a big loss. But with you…” She looked into his eyes, an insurmountable amount of pain and unsaid words just beyond his reach. “I could lose everything.”
“You won’t lose me, My Lady.” He said softly.
“Oh kitty,” she moaned. “I…I never want to lie to you…but there’s something that I haven’t told you. Something I should have a long time ago. I just…don’t like thinking about it.”
“What is it?”
“Chat Blanc.”
At her hesitation, he prodded her on. “What’s a Chat Blanc?”
Her whole face tightened, lips curling into a thin line, eyes squinted hard, and brow furrowed. “It’s…he’s your akumatized self.”
“What?” He breathed. “But I’ve never been akumatized.”
“No, not anymore. You see…Bunnyx helped with it. Somehow, the event of me signing a gift to Adrien triggered a series of events that got you akumatized. I don’t know what the correlation was, but…you knew my name, and you said our love destroyed the world.”
“The world?”
“I hate thinking about it,” she winced again. “The whole of Paris flooded, the Eiffel tower knocked on it’s side, the moon exploded. Everyone, including me and Hawkmoth, turned to dust. You cried when you saw me. You asked me to save you, but you also wanted my earrings, wanting to fix everything yourself. So we fought.”
“I assume you won, if you’re here.”
“Yeah...the Akuma was in your bell. Your all white bell, on your white suit, with your white hair and blue eyes...” she shuttered. “I still see you like that in my nightmares.”
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“I didn’t want to mention it. I didn’t want to worry you, and I didn’t want to remember. I knew I should have told you sooner, though. I’m sorry.”
“...I understand.” He swallowed and exhaled in a whoosh, all the debris above them shifting. He moaned, ending with a hiss.
“Chat?”
“Sorry, I moved and realized that I’m a little more hurt than I thought.”
“What’s ‘a little more hurt’?”
“Uh…I think I’m…I’ve been impaled?”
“What!?”
“It’s not that bad, the suit took most of the pain. I just…am having a little hard time breathing, and I thought it was from my claustrophobia, but I think something is lodged in me.”
Very carefully, Marinette reached up and felt along his back. A lot of debris was laying flush to his suit, but as she moved her hand around, she noticed he felt wet and sticky.
“Yeah, I think you’re bleeding, kitty.” She said so sadly. She touched where the wound was and he cried out in pain. It was his lower back, by his spine.
“I’m sorry!” She pulled her hand away.
“S’kay,” he hissed out. “God damn, that hurt.”
“I promise, as soon as we get out of here, I’ll magic you right as rain. Just...just hold on, kitty.”
He opened an eye to look at her, still fond through his pain. “Are you panicking?”
“Yes! I was worried when the building collapsed, but now I’m on the verge of pure panic!”
“I must admit, this is not how I expected today to go.” He breathed slowly, the pain subsiding when he held still. “Actually, I didn’t imagine this happening when I found out who you are. You being Marinette is like…the cherry on top of a diarrhea sundae.”
“Do you like cherries?”
“I love cherries.” He whispered. “I got grounded today.”
“Oh.”
“I was having lunch with my father, a rare treat. My friend texted me and I answered without thinking. My father became upset that I would do something so ‘rude’. He said if my friends were more important than him, then he shouldn’t bother eating with me. Then he took my phone.”
“That’s the kind of assholery that I’ve come to expect from Adrien’s dad. You’re in that boat too?”
“Unfortunately, yes. Come to think of it…he’s probably the reason I got akumatized in that other timeline.”
“You think so?”
“It’s a hunch. I don’t often get upset about things, but when I do, it’s usually because of him.” He sighed, ending with a wince. “That’s something I haven’t admitted to myself until now.”
“Kitty...”
“I didn’t mean to bring that up...”
“It’s okay. I’m glad you did. I want to be able to support you where you need it.” She could see that he was spiraling into depression, and quickly sought to remedy that. “What was your daydream like? When you would find out who I was?”
A twitch of a smile took his face. “I knew I would spend a long time staring at you, memorizing what you look like without the mask.” He took a shaky breath. “And I thought, when we decided to share our identities, it would be because you finally fell for me. So there was a kiss. And a lot of roses. It was sappy...but it made me happy to think about it.”
“Can I ask...what it is that you love so much about me? In case you don’t know, there’s a lot of differences between Marinette and Ladybug.”
“I know,” he smiled. “But there’s plenty of similarities. Your strength, for example.”
She laughed. “Chat, Ladybug can throw you across the city. But Marinette couldn’t even lift you.”
“I bet you could! We should test it later! But I meant your strength of heart.”
“You sound like an anime character.”
“Well, it’s important to me.” He blushed. “You aren’t wishy-washy. You don’t cater to the voices around you. You do what’s right. You want justice. Even when akumas and civilians tell us to go or step down, you get up and fight.”
“I do that?”
“Yes. The day you stood up to Hawkmoth, and you promised Paris that you would fight for them until the end? That moment, I said, ‘no matter who that girl is, I love her.’ And even now, it hasn’t stopped. I may even love you more.”
“Chat…” She sniffed. “I…I care about you so much. And I know that if Adrien wasn’t in view, I’d fall for you hard and fast. But I can’t.”
“I know, Marinette. Just knowing…that maybe someday…”
“All the more reason to get rid of Hawkmoth, right?”
He nodded, a tear slipping from his eye and landing on her cheek. “Today sucks.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s really not your fault. And I’d much prefer that you were here, under me, than being alone. I’m handling my claustrophobia a lot better because of it.”
“I’d much rather be under you too.”
He gave her a smile, and then snorted with a little blush. “Oh my lady…”
“I thought we were being mature.”
“Me? Mature? Come on.”
“Yeah, I should have known better.”
“You’re beautiful too,” he added. “I’ve always thought so. As Ladybug and Marinette. I saw you with your hair down once, and it’s haunted me ever since.”
“You saw me with my hair down?” She questioned, trying to ignore the hot blush on her cheeks.
“Yeah, it looked really nice on you. I know it’s not practical for crime fighting, but…”
“Maybe for a patrol,” she offered. “When things are calm.”
A smile graced his face as he sighed deeply.
The pile above them shifted, and Chat let out a cry of pain.
“Kitty?”
“This sucks!” He moaned, leaning his forehead down to her face. “Sorry, whatever is in me moved, and I really felt it.”
“Please don’t apologize, Chat. If anything, I should apologize, you took the hit for me!”
“My Lady…you didn’t do anything wrong. If I can help it, I will never let you get hurt.”
She closed her eyes, trying not to cry. “It breaks my heart that you would do that. I don’t want you to be a meat shield, I want you to be my partner.”
“You said it yourself. Once we’re out of here, you’ll do Miraculous Cure and set me right. So I’ll take the hits if I have to.” He sucked in a harsh breath. “Even if it hurts like a bitch.”
With her hands trapped at her sides, she couldn’t reach up and wipe his tears away. So she opted for the next best thing. She leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Thank you for protecting me. I know you’re going to say it’s your job, but I really do appreciate how much you look out for me.”
“I love you, Marinette. Of course I’m going to protect you.”
She shook her head slightly. “How can you just say that so casually?”
“Why bother hiding it? You know already. I’m not going to bottle it up.”
“I just…wish I could do that. With Adrien. I wish I could walk right up to him and say, ‘I love you, you magnificent human being’ and crush my lips to his perfect face.”
Chat hid his blushing face in her shoulder. “You should. I bet you’d make his day.”
“Yeah, or he’d freak out, and sue me for sexual harassment, and then I’ll be the laughing stock of the school, no, all of Paris! The whole world, maybe!”
“Do you often catastrophize?” He chuckled. “I’ve heard you do it before.”
“Usually only with Adrien. I just…don’t want to mess things up.”
“I don’t think you will. I know Adrien. He’s a nice boy. He won’t turn you down.”
“You can’t possibly know that.”
“Call me a psychic.”
She scoffed. “Whatever.” Then she shook her head. “Whether or not you’re confident he won’t reject me…I don’t think I’ll ever tell him. I’ve tried to get over him, but I just look at him and melt all over again. I’m sorry Chat.”
He was quiet, his face resting next to her head, cheek against her ear. After a moment of contemplation, he asked, “hey, you like pink, right?”
“Oh? Uh, yeah.”
“I’ll do it tomorrow. A dozen pink roses, maybe some red and white in there too for flavor.”
“You’re doing what tomorrow?”
“I’m going to reveal my identity tomorrow.”
“After all that? What about Adrien?”
“Don’t worry about him right now. I’ve been thinking. If you and I know who each other are, in a crisis, we’d be able to communicate better.”
“What do you mean? What kind of crisis?”
“I’m just trying to imagine what happened with my akuma. If there was a problem with my father or miscommunication, we could better solve it without identities in the way.”
“Okay, yes…” she considered. “But please don’t get your hopes up, okay? I would love to spend time with you out of the suit, but I won’t fall for you instantly.”
“I suppose you’re right. After all, how can I compare to the amazingly handsome Adrien Agreste? Well, he won’t be a problem for much longer.”
She frowned. “You say that like you’re going to kill him.”
He laughed. “No no, Bugaboo,” he said fondly. “Look, everything will make sense tomorrow, I promise…as long as I don’t bleed out down here first.”
“You’re acting really jovial for someone with a mortal flesh wound.”
“Tis a scratch.” He breathed a shuddering breath. “Or so I hope.”
“Ladybug! Chat Noir!” A male voice called from up above.
“Ugh, finally,” Marinette muttered to herself. “We’re down here!” She called.
“We’ll get you out as soon as we can! Any injuries?”
“Chat has a…bit of a scrape.”
“An ambulance is on the way!”
Marinette didn’t want to tell him it didn’t matter. Once she did the cure, he’d be right as rain.
Right?
“Marinette,” Tikki piped up. “I’m all set, whenever you are.”
“Alright. Tikki, Spots on!”
The pink flash only helped the first responders locate them quicker.
“There’s the baton!” His voice sounded closer. The light above was distorted by a rain of plaster, before it was replaced by flashlight light. “Hello?”
“We’re down here!” Ladybug called, moving her arm under Chat.
“Can either of you move?”
“Chat’s pinned, but I might be able to wiggle out, with some help.”
“We’ll get a sling. We might be able to pull you up and out.”
“Once I get my arms free, I should be able to cast the cure and set everything right.”
“Great plan, Ladybug! We’ll have you out in a minute.”
Ladybug nudged Chat’s nose with her own. “I’ll cast it as soon as I’m free. Can you hold out that long?”
“I’ll have a dozen pink roses. And I’ll wear something nice, like a sweater. Or maybe a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. I heard the ladies love that.”
“Chat?”
“I’m trying to focus on something else instead of being trapped.” He explained. “Sorry, I might not be very useful for the next few minutes.”
“Okay,” she kissed his cheek. “You do what you have to.”
The fire department lowered a strap attached to a chain into the hole. “If you can maneuver that under your arms, we can pull you out.”
Using Chat’s Baton, Ladybug was able to pull the strap closer. Very slowly and carefully, she wriggled it under her armpits, careful not to jostle Chat in the process.
“Jewelry could be fun. I know she doesn’t like it when I’m extravagant, but surely she would cherish it if I gave her a ring.” He had his eyes shut tight, his brow furrowed.
Ladybug gave Chat a pitiful look.
“Alright, I’m ready!” Ladybug called to the rescue crew.
She was pulled out from under Chat. Though, she had been supporting his lower half, and he sank to the ground as she slid away from him. This jostled the debris violently, and he cried out in horrible, agonizing pain. It was the worst sound she had ever heard.
“Chat!”
He kept howling, sounding like he was being ripped apart from the inside out.
Ladybug pushed on the piles around her, hurrying to get free.
The moment she broke the surface, she called for her Lucky Charm.
It was a rose, and she teary-eyed through it up into the air, and called for the cure.
The explosion of Ladybug’s surrounded her, mending her ankle and silencing Chat’s cries.
She touched down on solid, undisturbed concrete, and turned to find Chat face down on the ground.
“Kitty!” She cried, voice cracking as she rushed to him.
He pushed up on one arm. “I’m okay, My Lady. Just a little winded.”
“Are you sure?”
He stood slowly and stretched. “Yeah. All cured.”
She hugged him. Tight and sure, maybe squeezing a little harder than she should.
“Bug, I can’t breathe.” He chuckled.
“Sorry, I just...”
He hugged her back. “I’m never going to turn down a hug though.”
Her earrings beeped.
“Are you both alright?” Asked the EMT on the scene.
“We’re all better,” Chat assured. “Thank you for your help!” He gathered Ladybug close to him and put an arm around her waist. “We gotta go though!”
Ladybug only had a second to realize what he was doing, before she was lifted off her feet and into the air.
“I can travel myself, you know. I still have time.”
“Sure,” he shrugged.
He carried her all the way to her balcony, before setting her down. Her transformation ran out just as they landed.
“Thanks for the lift, Kitty.” She scratched under his chin. But as she looked in his eyes, she saw tears. “Chat?”
He sniffled and hugged her again. “Just...a sucky day. I wanted to hug you in privacy. I know how you get when people assume things about us.”
“Well, it’s different when you’re getting handsy and when you need comfort from a traumatic experience.”
“I never get handsy,” he argued. “I just like to be close. I’m touch starved.”
“Well, from what you told me today, I believe you.”
He laughed mirthlessly, and pulled away. “I really do feel better now.” He reached up and cupped her face, letting his thumb trail across the apple of her cheek. “No matter how bad this day was, it will never taint the absolute elation of finally seeing you.”
“Chat...” she blushed.
“I must be the luckiest man on Earth. Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Ladybug, all rolled into one. I can’t believe it.”
“Two transformations and you still don’t believe me?”
He smiled. “My brain believes, but my heart never gets so optimistic.” He cast his gaze away. “Even if you...change your mind...” he mused.
“About what?”
“Nothing. Never mind. I’ll just...see you tomorrow. With a dozen pink roses.”
“I’ll get a vase ready.”
He reluctantly pulled away, like tearing himself from her was physically painful. He hopped up on the railing of her balcony, and with a little salute, he hopped into the night.
“I’m proud of you, Marinette.” Said Tikki. “It had to be hard being that honest with him.
“I didn’t really have a choice. I can’t imagine how much worse that experience would have been for him with his eyes closed the whole time.”
“It’s over now. And tomorrow, you’ll know who he is too!”
Marinette whined. “I don’t know if I’m ready for that...”
“It’s a little late for that. What? Are you going to run at the first sight of flowers?”
“I might.”
“It’ll be fine. Marinette, I know who Chat is. And I promise, it’ll all work out fine. Great even. Just, take a shower, and go to bed. Then you can wake up early and mentally prepare yourself.”
Marinette chuckled as she dropped back down into her room. “What would I do without you as a life coach?”
“Sleep through most classes.”
“It was a rhetorical question.”
In the morning, with the extra sleep Tikki had urged her to get, Marinette rose and dressed.
Then the nerves turned on.
“What if I just fake sick?”
“Don’t you dare! You’d hurt his feelings!”
“You’re right...but I really do feel like I might throw up.”
“Just relax. You’re going to love this.”
“If you say so...”
After breakfast, Marinette wandered over to school leisurely. Tikki would say she was stalling, but Marinette would disagree and state she was simply taking advantage of being early.
At the front steps, students were gathered. No roses. In the courtyard, teens milled about. No roses. In the locker room, her locker was devoid of anything that wasn’t supposed to be in there.
“Well well well,” said Alya, with too much bravado. “Lookie who’s early!”
“Yuck it up. I was tired and went to bed early last night.”
“You sure you aren’t eager to see Adrien today? He looks pretty cute in that button up.”
In all the confusion surrounding Chat, Marinette had honestly forgotten about Adrien. Her. Forget about Adrien. Perish the thought.
“I mean...it would be a bonus.” She muttered.
“Well, he’s up in the classroom. If you were wondering.”
She wasn’t. Or hadn’t been, until now. But it seemed that Chat wasn’t ready to reveal himself yet, and Marinette still had time to prepare.
She ascended the steps and headed to the classroom.
What she wasn’t expecting, was seeing Adrien standing there, sunlight filtering through the window to make a halo in his hair. He wore a black button up shirt, sleeves rolled up, and had a dozen pink roses in his hands as he talked to Nino.
Dare she hope? Dare she dream?
She just stood in the doorway, staring, before he noticed her.
“Good morning, Marinette.” He smiled at her, looking warm and inviting and…nervous?
“Goo-goo-good morning, Adrien.” She stumbled. She glanced down to the flowers, then up to his face. “Um…those don’t happen to be for me, do they?”
With a twinkle in his eye, he smirked. “Why? Just because something is pink, you think it’s for you?”
She deflated. “Haha, right…that was really forward of me.”
With a pleasant hum, he leaned in and whispered in her ear. “I’m just messing with you, My Lady. These are for you.” He placed the bouquet in her shell-shocked hands.
“My...?” She breathed. The word was just a whisper, barely heard by even him.
His smile was broad and gleeful, squinting his eyes and coloring his cheeks. “Mmm-hmm!!” He hummed eagerly as he nodded.
Marinette had to shut her eyes as a sound like a laugh and a sob burst from her lips. Tears started immediately, and there was no way to stop it.
“I told you you would cry,” he teased.
“You jerk!” She blubbered. Then she tossed the flowers at a confused Nino before throwing her arms around Adrien, and sobbing into his shoulder. “I love you, Kitty.”
He squeezed her back. “Do you really? Because I’m getting mixed signals.”
“You’re awful. You’re wonderful. I’m a mixed bag of emotions. Just hold me.”
“Can do!”
As other students came in, seeing the couple embraced, they gave them thumbs up and congratulatory back pats.
And then Lila entered.
She halted, hid her sneer, and said, “oh no! Marinette! What’s wrong? Why are you crying on Adrien like that?”
He patted Marinette’s hair. “Happy tears, no worries.”
Marinette refused to let Lila ruin this moment. It was far too perfect. Adrien was far too perfect, the flowers, her kitty...
Mustering all her strength, she hooked her arms under his, turned and spun his into a dip.
“My lady?” He breathed, in awe.
“You’re the love of my life. I should have kissed you yesterday. I definitely wanted to.”
“You did?” He smiled drunkenly.
“Yes, like this.” And she slammed her lips to his, kissing him just like she had in her dreams.
Adrien let out a contented little mewl as he tangled his fingers in her hair.
The class went wild with roars and cheers.
Before she could drop him, Marinette righted Adrien. “Sorry, I just...wanted to do that for a while now.”
Adrien nuzzled her cheek with his nose. “Oh don’t worry, Bugaboo. You can smooch me whenever.”
Nino made a gagging sound.
“Oh, well I’m very happy for you guys,” Lila feigned a smile. “But Adrien, are you sure your father will be okay with this?”
Chloe, who had known this was coming since she saw the roses, stood and stalked over. “Okay, you’re done. Bye!”
“Chloe, I’m just trying to be rational...”
“And Adrien is the most deserving person for a happy ending...even if it’s with Dupain-Cheng.” She cast Marinette a glance and rolled her eyes. Then she looked back at Lila. “Though, he could do worse.”
This made Marinette and Adrien giggle.
Lila scoffed. “Fine! Make me the bad guy! But don’t come crying to me when Gabriel tells you to break it off!”
Adrien whispered in his new girlfriend’s ear. “Even if my father makes Adrien and Marinette break up, Ladybug and Chat Noir follow their own rules. It might not be the most fun, but we’ll make it. Then, once I’m 18, I’ll propose.”
Marinette laughed, kissing him swiftly. “Oh my sweet kitty. Let’s take it slow for a little while. We have the rest of our lives to be that insufferable couple.”
Alya, who had come in not that long after Marinette but stood quietly in the door, finally spoke up. “Adrien, I couldn’t bear to tear you away from your Princess. So I’ll take your seat.”
Adrien just grinned in gratitude and hugged Marinette. “This makes that building collapse yesterday totally worth it.”
“Does that mean...you had a crush on me?” She teased.
“No, my Lady, I fell for you.”

4.
Your life seemed to flash before your eyes.
Chloe Smith was in tears; her red hair matted while her makeup from the night before smeared under her eyes. You had never seen her look like this. She was always fabulous. You'd admit it now, even knowing she was crazy.
"Chloe..." Xavier said softly, his hands slowly rising as she continued to cry with her eyes on you. Your eyes fell to the gun hanging by her side, her finger fiddling with the gun. She was going to cock it eventually.
"Sit down!" she shot at you, and you didn't hesitate to take the spot next to Xavier. You realized you should have stayed away from him, but Chloe didn't comment, only raising the gun at the both of you.
"You don't have to do this," Xavier said, his voice hesitant. You knew he was trying not to cry, and you were right there with him. "This isn't worth it."
"You're worth it!" she yelled, pointing her gun directly at him now. "You're worth it, Xavier." she cried, her voice wobbly. You had never heard anything like this in your life. This all had to be a really fucked up dream.
You knew it was probably best to keep your mouth shut. Chloe hated you; you didn't want to push her any farther and risk putting Xavier in any more danger than he already was.
Your thoughts were overshadowed when Chloe turned her attention back to you, her voice venomous when she asked, "What do you have that I don't?"
I'm not psychotic, clearly.
You instinctively snickered at that, which was a huge mistake. You watched as Chloe's eyes went dark before moving the gun just inches from your face and fired.
You and Xavier both yelled; he grabbed you and pulled you down as the bullet whizzed right by, almost hitting your ear. Your heart was now in overdrive as Xavier took this opportunity to rush forward and tackle her to the ground. You screamed as they wrestled, desperately looking for a phone to dial 9-1-1.
You hoped that a neighbor would call the police. You weren't particularly close with them, but you were friendly enough to keep an eye on one another. You started to cry when you realized your phone was dead, and you didn't know where Xavier's was.
There was no way you could sit back and watch this unfold. Chloe was screaming, cursing your name as Xavier wrestled the gun away from her. You looked around for something heavy, figuring this could be your Paul Sheldon moment.
You spotted an ugly vase that Xavier's mother had gifted you when you moved in together. It always sat underneath the accent table, collecting dust. You snatched it, looking to see that Xavier was somewhat able to pin down Chloe. But the struggle for the gun was still ensuing. Your ears rang as another shot went off, striking the lamp your grandmother bought you.
The last thing you wanted was to hurt him accidentally. You lunged for the pair, catching Xavier's eye last minute as he fell off her, falling to the ground. You smashed the vase against Chloe's head. A cry escaped your lips when a jagged piece broke the skin of your palm. Chloe shrieked, before falling unconscious.
You gasped, falling to your knees as Xavier wheezed on the ground. You glanced down at the now bloody head of Chloe, who was still breathing.
"That fucking bitch!" Xavier snapped, sitting up. You watched as he grabbed the gun, switching on the safety. "We need to call the police."
"I-I couldn't find your phone," you said shakily, stumbling to your feet, your eyes still on her unconscious body.
Xavier had to dig underneath the cushions, but he found it. There was just enough battery to report the incident, and he stayed on the line as you both moved far away from her, almost sitting on top of each other in the corner.
Your chest felt like it was on fire. The tears wouldn't stop as you hung onto Xavier, who gently shushed you while he spoke to the operator. You wanted Montana, you wanted Brooke.
You were so shaken up that the panicked knocking on the door caused you to shriek. The operator on the phone was worried, as Xavier got up to investigate, before letting out a "fuck!"
"XAVIER! Y/N! IT'S ME, IT'S CHET AND MONTANA! OPEN UP!"
Xavier wrenched open the door, explaining to the operator that you were still waiting on the police.
"We already called the police, they're not here yet!?" Montana yelled, rushing past the boys to where you were cowering in the corner. "Chet was outside when he saw Chloe arrive and called them."
She brought you into a hug as you hid your face in her neck, wishing for all of this to stop. You heard Xavier ask why Chet was outside, in which he replied, "Because I'm not dumb, I knew the bitch would be back."
You always adored that Chet was so protective of your friends. You had to smile, feeling your heart lift slightly as Montana held you tightly, shielding your face from Chloe.
It seemed like an eternity when the police and ambulance finally arrived. Ray ended up showing up sometime later while you were outside, claiming that Brooke was stuck at work and wished she could be here.
You watched with your friends as Chloe was wheeled out on a stretcher; her hands cuffed as they loaded her into the ambulance. Your debacle caused some attention, as concerned neighbors and strangers gathered around. You slowly started to feel better, but the fear of almost being killed kept creeping on you. The paramedics cleaned up your wound and bandaged it.
Because your apartment was now an active crime scene, you and Xavier were forced to room with Montana and Brooke at their residence. You had gathered your things before riding over with Xavier in the back seat; his grip on you was still tight.
You were pleased when Ray and Chet came over later that night with packed bags. They insisted on the group being together for support. You had hugged your friends more in the past few hours than you have all year. You knew they were as equally scared as you were, while simultaneously trying to ease your stress.
That night after everyone settled into bed, you were restless. It was well past three in the morning, your boss already notified about what transpired and you needed some time off. Xavier was in the bathroom, almost begging his boss to give him some time, too.
You waited until he finally came out, visibly lighter as he crawled down next to you, peeking to see if you were awake. The unexpected action caused you to snort, and he smiled at your laugh.
"I'm sorry if I scared you," he whispered, settling down beside you. "My boss finally cut me some slack for once in his life."
"I think you should just quit, they don't deserve you," you whispered.
"Trust me, I've been telling myself that the day I started," he joked, and you felt hopeful that things could be normal again. "y/n, I just wanted to let you know that you saved our lives today."
You frowned, shaking your head, "You had her pinned to the ground. If anything, you're the hero."
Xavier shook his head, scoffing, "Don't be ridiculous, you knocked the crack-whore out."
You cackled at that, hiding your face in the blankets as Xavier's blue eyes widened, playfully shushing you as Ray snorted in his sleep a few feet away. "Keep it down!"
"Then don't make me laugh!" you seethed, yet your tone was playful. "You should know by now that you make me laugh without trying."
Xavier beamed at that, settling down to lay beside you. He was delighted to hear that, now smiling like an idiot at your compliment. You moved closer, putting your head on his chest as he wrapped an arm around you.
"I don't mean to make light of the situation," Xavier said softly, starting to run his hands through your hair. You closed your eyes in peace. "But I'm glad we were with each other today. I could never live with myself if something happened to you because of me."
"I need you to stop blaming yourself," you scolded. Xavier's face flushed, and he was staring at the ceiling with a hurt expression you couldn't see. "I told this to the others, and I'll say it to you. You didn't know. Montana..." you smiled, "She has a suspicious nature, and she's right ninety percent of the time. Montana had an equal hand in this."
"I should have known, though," Xavier said, frowning. "I was her boyfriend. I was going to move in with her!"
You smirked, "They say you don't really know a person until you live with them. Or something like that."
Xavier finally smiled at you, "Something like that?"
"Yes. That's what my mom said when I told her we were living together."
"Huh," Xavier said, his hands still running through your hair. "Your mom is a wise woman."
"Of course she is, why do you think I'm the way I am, hmm?" you joked.
"I guess that would explain a lot," he said softly. You laid there, your head still on his chest as you listened to the sound of his beating heart.
In mere seconds he could have been taken away from you.
You didn't realize your nails dug into his chest until he winced, "Ouch, y/n?"
You gasped, "Oh, I'm so sorry, Xavier." you said, rubbing the spot on his chest where you hurt him.
"It's alright," he said, before placing his hand over yours. "I'll be here when you wake-up."
You tried to fall asleep then, but images of Chloe holding a gun in your face was a plague. Xavier was still awake, staring at the ceiling as he stroked your hair. He could feel your wildly beating heart, and he wished there was something he could do.
Xavier was always the strong one of the group. You could always lean on him whenever you needed, even if he was struggling with something himself. But he wanted to save everybody, even though he knew it was impossible. His own past haunted him, and this was just the newest addition.
The clock slowly ticked towards five in the morning, and you were still unable to find peace. You eventually sat up, Xavier's arm falling to the side as you sighed, rubbing your eyes.
"y/n?" he asked, sitting up beside you. You gave him a weak smile, which he frowned. "Do you need me to call someone?"
You shook your head, "I just think sleep is off the table for us tonight."
He laughed quietly, looking around the dark room to see Montana hanging partially off the couch. Brooke was right on the floor beneath her, her legs over Ray's stomach, snoring.
"I feel safe with everyone here," you admitted, glancing at Chet, who was curled up with a pillow. "I always felt safe with you guys."
"Me too," he admitted, taking your hand. "I know I've made a lot of bad decisions in my life. I always felt like I wasn't supposed to be here, you know?" Your heart hurt hearing that. "I got myself in so much bad shit, and I guess I still do that. But I'd always find my way back... I had my friends. I have you."
You wiped at your eyes, knowing Xavier hated to see you cry. "You've always had me." you laughed weakly.
"I wish I would have stopped being so stupid-."
"Are you kidding?" you laughed now, a little too loudly, you may add. "You just told me last night you were always flirting with me! You're the clueless one? Please."
Xavier gave you a smirk, and you reached up to pat down his messy hair. His blue eyes were bright in the night, and you knew you'd always be able to get lost in them.
"Do you think it would be inappropriate if I kissed you?" Xavier asked, tilting his head at you playfully. You blushed deeply, thinking of all the times you dreamed of this happening.
"I don't want you to feel like you have to rush into anything with me..." you admitted, smiling shyly at him.
Xavier nodded understandingly, "I normally would say that too. But today was an example that we're not promised anything, y/n. I don't want to waste any more time with you than I've already had."
You couldn't believe this was happening. After a silent agreement, Xavier leaned in, pressing a deep kiss to your lips. It was better than you ever imagined, your hands gently twisting in his hair as his arm slid around your waist, pulling you in tight. Xavier kissed you until you couldn't breathe, pulling away with a satisfied smirk.
"That was amazing." he grinned, keeping his arm around you as you smiled back.
"I know, thank you." you joked before you were startled out of your wits when you heard Montana mumble into her pillow, "Oh, thank God they finally kissed."
Your mouth fell open when Brooke tiredly said, "About time!"
"You guys heard them kiss? Gross!" Ray slurred.
"Were you guys listening this entire time!?" Xavier yelled, your shock finally wearing off as you laughed loudly, hiding your head under your blanket.
"Only the last few minutes," Montana said, turning over. "Thank fuck, you guys were driving us all crazy, not dating each other."
"You guys are the worst!" you cried out as Xavier laid beside you, a broad grin on his face.
"But you love us, y/n," Brooke giggled softly, "Goodnight."
You and Xavier finally fell asleep minutes after your friends fell back asleep. Chet stirred, peeking at you guys from his thick pillow. He smiled before laying back down to sleep.

The Angaran Chronicles: The Underside; Extract
Tumblr media
An extract from my upcoming novel, The Angaran Chronicles: The Underside, which is due to be released on the 1st of November 2021! Ready for pre-order here! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FJM625N
The magically enhanced super-assassin, Anargrin and his team are the elite of the elite; black operations sent on the most dangerous of assignments to undermine the authoritarian theocratic regimes of the continent of Angara. Anargrin believes the past should be remembered, never obsessed over. Still, when he and his band of misfits are sent to investigate a Hunter Coven that stopped all communication soon, evidence indicates Anargrin’s enemy’s involvement. An enemy that is responsible directly and indirectly for much of Anargrin’s traumatic past, evidence that reveals a conspiracy hidden within the slave trade.
A conspiracy that threatens to engulf the entire continent in blood.#
Year: 2500 AHV Age: The Late Industra Era Country: The Kingdom of Camaria
Anargrin blinked as the cave was taken over by the calming, almost-dainty streams of midafternoon light filtered through the leaves and branches above. The stink of abundant pollen eclipsed the horrific stench of burned meat and fat. The crackling of flames was now the sweet singing of birds and the almost-constant chirping of the damnable cicadas. That cursed cave was only about fifteen kilometers northwest from here, but it was lifetimes ago. He wished he could forget, but the memory was just as clear as it was decades ago.
Anger, raw and powerful, sprouted through him. It caused him to clench his teeth and his fists. Did Kalthasin do that on purpose? Did he kill her like that because of the—he forced it inside, into hiding, as the sound of engines filtered through his enhanced ears. He doubted any of his companions would’ve heard it yet, as they wouldn’t be able to see him in the underbrush like he could see them.
So it was soon to begin. He’d done this countless times now: kidnapping children.
#
For two weeks, they planned for this, set up for this. No less time for preparation would have sufficed, and in fact, Raleas would have preferred more time—much more time.
Raleas shook away the lamentation as she knelt among the underbrush, her sniper rifle’s scope to her eye as she watched the truck bounce down the slick mud road, about half a kilometer away. The truck that contained the children was in the middle of a convoy of three others and five utes, all filled with soldiers. The groaning and grating of the engines was easily heard, even from here. The truck was the primary target of what the Hunters called “The Kidnapping Convoy.”
Raleas couldn’t think of a more appropriate name, and the alliteration added irony to it. They loved their irony.
She glanced about. Only about two meters to her left was the mage and apprentice Hunter, Wilom. His lack of skill in stealth was evident. Raleas just hoped they were far enough from the road. The redheaded young man knelt like her, his staff in hand, his brow furrowed over blue eyes, but she could easily see the sweat beading on his broad forehead and half-circle sweat stains in the armpits of his robes. It was humid but not hot. The country of Camaria was so far north it wasn’t known at all for being warm, even to Raleas’s sensibilities.
Two others were hiding around too, one of whom Raleas could somewhat see, a mere shadow of a tall, thin woman who held a large double-headed ax.
Of the third, there was no sign at all.
Raleas smiled. He was the best, after all.
“Raleas, concentrate,” Jelcine hissed from the shadows, making Raleas set her eyes back to her scope.
She was a sniper. Sentimental distractions were unbecoming of her.
The convoy came around the corner of the road.
It was almost time to act, and it needed to be to the exact second. It was on Wilom’s shoulders, and it was then Raleas realized it might not be the heat making the young Hunter-apprentice sweat so much.
“Wilom,” said Anargrin in a very familiar, soothing voice, although Raleas had no clue where it was coming from. “Are you ready?”
Wilom nodded, swallowed, and wiped the sweat from his forehead with the back of a shaking hand. “I am master.”
Wilom had joined them two years ago as Anargrin’s apprentice. He was said to be among the best mages of his generation of Hunters, but little good at much else, especially everyday human interaction. Anargrin had been hesitant to allow such an inexperienced young man on their team. Still, he was eventually forced to, since Wilom had proven invaluable in assignments that called for little subtlety—assignments like this, when push came to shove.
“Okay, Wilom,” said the elf. “You seem . . . a little nervous, but we’ll be fine. Is everyone else ready?”
“Fuck yeah, you old fool,” said Jelcine. “I was ready the second I was promoted to Hunterhood. I am frankly offended you had to ask.”
Jelcine had been on the team for just over a year, having joined them, unofficially, when they were accidentally forced to work with her during an assignment. Hunters had been through the creatively called “ritual,” which lengthened their life spans. Despite being in her eighties, she had never been promoted from vampire-Hunter status, even though most Hunters her age were infiltrators or black-ops agents. The Hunters never gave her an apprentice, although she was skilled and extensively lucky. Her ritual hadn’t enhanced just her speed, agility, constitution, and regeneration factor, among many other things, but also her strength, far beyond the average Hunter. They said this was because of a one-in-a-million mutation. But everyone knew why she hadn’t been promoted: due to her black-and-white worldview, volatile temper, and immaturity. Frankly, Raleas would label her a “bitch,” but not to her face.
Jelcine had gotten sick of vampire hunting and saw joining them as a way out.
“I’ve got this, Anargrin,” said Raleas, fighting the urge to check her rifle’s load yet again.
“Good,” said the elf. “Alright, in three . . . two . . . one.”
The trio exploded into a sprint. The swishing of Wilom’s footfalls eclipsed those of Jelcine’s, but all three were nothing but blurs to Raleas’s human eyes while she watched them through her scope. She was used to the inhuman speed of Anargrin and Jelcine, but it was easy to forget that little young Wilom held such ability too.
It was also easy to forget that the Hunter-apprentice was only four years younger than Raleas.
They’d crossed about four hundred meters in only a few seconds before Wilom’s hands erupted in flames, and he slid to a stop and raised his palms. A giant ball of fire blasted out and flew straight for the leading ute.
The ute exploded and was flung up into the air, spinning and wheeling before crashing against the dirt road. It slid a few meters more before coming to a halt and blocking the way for the rest of the kidnapping convoy.
The convoy skidded to a stop, and Camarian soldiers poured from the trucks with a discipline that impressed even the ex-soldier Raleas. The heavy machine guns placed on top of the utes began to turn toward Anargrin and the others and opened fire, as did the other soldiers on the backs of the utes. The familiar barking, roaring crescendo of combined gunfire filled Raleas’s ears. But by then, Jelcine, Anargrin, and Wilom had already scattered—Anargrin toward the front of the convoy, Jelcine toward the back, and Wilom dashing sideways.
Raleas exhaled and placed a shot through the skull of a soldier on the emplacement as he tried to shoot for Jelcine and then through another’s as he went to take his comrade’s place.
Wilom slid to a stop as a priest of Jaroai and his soldiers ran from the truck’s back, following the one with the children inside.
Wilom threw another fireball, which hit the priest and the soldiers around him. It exploded and flung the soldiers screaming, writhing, and flipping like dolls. But the priest was untouched, protected by a shield of light.
The shield died away, and the priest raised his pole arm, which was layered in flames, but then Anargrin was on him. The priest, with impressive speed, managed to see Anargrin coming and swung out his staff. Anargrin evaded it, but how, Raleas couldn’t know. Then he opened the priest’s throat. Anargrin stopped, standing over the dying man as he dropped to his knees, and Raleas got a good look at him. Even for an elf, he was handsome, sharp featured, his skin as pale as the whitest Zatharian winter. His long brown hair was pulled into a ponytail, and he wore a brown leather jacket with blue jeans and had a bloody longsword in his right hand. The soldiers in a nearby ute switched their aim for him.
Then Anargrin stood in their midst. He’d just “blinked,” a short-range instantaneous teleportation ability all Hunters had. Still, Anargrin was better than anyone else in the organization, having a shorter cool-down time of five minutes instead of the standard ten minutes and a more extended range. How he’d become so good at it, Raleas didn’t know; she supposed it was because of his utter inability to use any magic whatsoever—as all other Hunters could, with magical ability being a prerequisite to becoming a Hunter.
In less than a split second, all the soldiers were slaughtered by his blade. Then he leapt off the back of the ute and was sprinting toward the end of the convoy.
Raleas tore her attention away from him and to Jelcine. She fought a priest of Jaroai and about a dozen soldiers. She smashed and whacked away shot after shot with her giant double-headed ax while the priest kept her at bay with blast after blast of fire from his hands. Jelcine reeled as a bullet managed to hit her arm, making her cry out.
Raleas blew out the side of the priest’s skull. Then Jelcine was on the soldiers who once had her pinned down. Raleas began to pick off the stray soldiers who were trying to flank Jelcine or re-man the heavy machine guns. She knew she didn’t need to look after Anargrin or Wilom.
Her sniper rifle clicked dry, and she was about to reload when her wristwatch beeped.
It was time to move in, so she stood and began running.
#
As she approached the truck, the sound of gunfire drifted away, replaced by children crying and Jelcine and Wilom moving the ruined ute, its metal bodywork shrieking across the muddy gravel road. The smell of blood mixed with smoke and gunpowder somehow penetrated through the pollen blocking her sinuses.
Anargrin stepped out from behind one of the trucks while whipping the blood off his sword. He was svelte and walked with the smooth confidence of the most seasoned of martial artists. He had to be, being about two hundred years old and among the longest-living Hunters. Like most elves, he stood at around 1.67 meters but was still quite a bit taller than Raleas.
“You alright?” he asked, placing a hand on her arm.
Raleas smiled and raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, I’m fine. I wasn’t the one fighting on the front line. I just wish I could’ve done more.”
“This mission isn’t over yet. You are going to be invaluable soon,” he said and glanced over his shoulder as Jelcine approached, clutching at her shoulder while she muttered curses. “And I’m sure you saved Jelcine’s arse more than once.”
That made Raleas smile, and he smiled back before he turned toward the truck’s front. “All of you know the drill,” he said while he and Jelcine passed each other. Then he opened the truck’s driver’s door and leapt in. “Let’s move.”
Jelcine walked up to Raleas. The tall, slender redhead fixed Raleas with an almost-hateful glare like she blamed Raleas for her injury.
“You talk to the children,” said Jelcine.
“But—”
“Look, my arm hurts like fuck right now. I’m not in the mood for dealing with kids.”
Raleas sighed. “Oh, alright.”
And together, they leapt into the back of the truck.

Colorado
I slowly wake up so relaxed I can’t remember the last time feeling this good. The hunt turned out to be a simple salt and burn and after grabbing a shower and a bite, we stopped at the local dispensary to pick up a few necessities and found couple new items to try.
Stretching languidly, I glance over my shoulder at Dean, tiger striped by the morning light seeping through the drawn blinds, asleep on his stomach clutching his pillow, thankfully not bunched up under his head making him snore.
Many moons ago, I learned the hard way not to disturb a sleeping Dean Winchester when I tried to roll him over to stop the horrendous snoring he’s capable of when completely exhausted. That little maneuver got me the barrel of his Colt 1911A1 in my face and incoherent yelling.
I slept with Sam for a long time after that.
Smiling, I remember Jack telling me Cas calls Dean a very angry sleeper, like a bear. Can’t argue with feathers on that.
The bed dips behind me and a strong arm wraps around me with a smooth, sleep warm chest pressing flush to my back, “Wha’ so musing?” Dean’s drowsy, gravely voice asks as he nuzzles into my neck.
“Remembering a Cas’ism,” I replied, wriggling closer, his morning wood pressing against me, “Someone's wide awake, didn’t get enough last night?” Dean rocks his boxer brief clad cock against my ass in response.
“Or a little while ago?”
“Never get enough Cherry.”
I’ve always heard Dean call women sweetheart and occasionally baby but the first time Dean called me Cherry shocked the hell out of me.
I asked him if he knew what that nickname meant, after all, this is the guy who called himself meat man to his own brother.
He winked at me, cheeky bastard.
I shift onto my back as Dean moves to straddle my thighs, locking them between his muscular ones. Starting at my hips his calloused hands slowly glide over my body, pushing the t-shirt I stole from him to sleep in up, exposing my skin to his hungry gaze.
In our world, Dean Winchester is considered the best hunter alive, his only equal is his brother Sam. But there is another side to him that's rarely seen, reserved only for those who are family.
Dean can be incredibly gentle, loves waking me up with his teasing touches. Reaching my breasts, his thick fingers massage my nipples, sending shivers through me, pinching them hard enough they pebble up before continuing on to my arms, guiding them upwards and pulling the shirt over my head, tossing it somewhere behind him.
Leaning over me Dean braces himself on his strong forearms entwining our fingers. He’s close enough I feel his breath on my face as I untangled my right hand and caress his scruffy cheek, tracing his full lips, feel him smile against my fingertips.
He turns his head and kisses my palm before closing the sparse distance to my lips, running his tongue across them, encouraging me to open up to let him explore inside.
Boy, does this man know how to kiss.
Dean pulls back, my bottom lip between his teeth before letting go, moving to kiss along my jaw and shifts to latch onto my neck, sucking on my pulse point.
“Hmm, you're gonna give me another hickey,” Dean sucks harder in response. I grab his hair on top where it’s longer, tugging till he pulls off to look at me.
His eyes are dilated and not just from desire.
“Dude, you’re still stoned.” I grin at him. Last night we kicked back with a few beers and a joint, trying a new hybrid strain.
Then came that pie.
“ ‘m not,” Dean tried sounding indignant before laughing, dropping his head back into my neck as we both laugh uncontrollably. I love to hear him sounding so untroubled, doesn’t get to do it enough.
Our outburst causes certain bits of us to rub together, reigniting our lust. Dean starts moving southward again, lips and tongue caressing my skin along his travels, stopping at his chosen destination and looks up at me licking his bottom lip.
“Frigging tease!” I pull his hair harder.
He smirks and, without breaking eye contact, slowly runs his tongue up over my outer lips before sliding off the end of the bed, turns, bending over sheds his underwear before walking towards his duffel.
Man has no shame so I freely admire his retreating posterior view.
Hunting has kept Dean fit the nearly twenty years I’ve known him, even with the double bacon cheeseburgers with extra onions and copious amounts of booze, thou not quite the same body he had at twenty-three.
I’ve witnessed guys our age be greener than his eyes envying his not-a-dad-body, possessing the juiciest peach of an ass on any man I’ve ever known.
He’s rooting in his duffel muttering, not coming up with a condom. “Try the table,” spotting the Walgreens bag by the empty pie tin.
“Sonuvabitch!” Dean exclaims, running both hands through his hair in his shitshitshit gesture looking panicked at the table.
I sit up...ooh crap, I feel a warmth spreading between my thighs that shouldn’t be.
🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧
“What do you mean I can’t purchase it,” I’m about to go mental on this bumfuck towns pharmacist refusing to sell me Plan B, “I can see it right behind you.”
“I’m sorry I’m unable to sell you the Plan B-One Step today, you’ll have to come back tomorrow.” He raises his voice for the benefit of the locals eavesdropping on our conversation.
“Wait, I can purchase it tomorrow but not today,” I’m confused as hell and stare incredulously at the guy, “what’s so special about today?”
“It’s the sabbath, you should consider repenting for your obvious sins.” He retorted.
I blink not sure how to respond what this AssButts implying... when it hits me.
It’s the guy who runs the dispensary we went into last night, chatted with us, recommending some items to try. He saw us kissing and cuddling like a couple of teenagers (who'd thought it would take Chuck ending the other realities for Dean Winchester to PDA) must've overheard Dean whispering graphically on how he was gonna savor that pie and me, then slyly pointed out a few the topical products to try for a happy ending.
I suddenly feel like Olive in Easy A when everyone’s talking about her as I hear the tittering around me get louder, comments about the way I’m dressed, not having a ring on it, and the visible hickeys on my neck at my age.
Jealous much?
I look down realizing I had grabbed the first articles of clothing within reach, turns out to be Dean’s stuff that’s to big on me, including his boots.
And like Olive, I’m taking back control.
”Romans 2:3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?”
You could hear a pin drop, “Y’all need to consider that before passing judgement on others,” I clap back and head high, walk past the shocked gossip mongers towards the exit, ”especially ones versed in Hermeneutics.”
🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧
We crossed the Kansas border around eight that night, same Motörhead cassette playing all day. We haven’t spoken since leaving the motel late this morning.
Dean's jaw’s still ticking, he’s gonna have a helluva headache. His hand has a death grip on the wheel as he reaches for the Impalas lighter, igniting what must be like his eighteenth cigarette. There’s only one reason he’s smoking since Sam got him to quit umpteen years ago.
Dean’s freaking out.
I slide across the seat and ran my fingers along the back of his neck, lightly scratching into the short stands. “It’s both our faults, stop castigating yourself. I’ll get the pill tomorrow, being at the bunker it will be better when I take it, had a nauseating headache and cramped like hell last time.”
He shot me a surprised glance, “You, khmm, you had to… before?” His voice rougher with all those damn cigarettes.
“Once, wasn’t gonna chance it that one had slipped past the goalie.”
When Dean and I finally got together we agreed since so much of our lives is built on lying to others to get what we need, there wouldn’t be any between us. But breaking a lifelong habit is not easy, we’re still figuring stuff out and on several occasions intentionally hiding things has almost ended us.
Dean snubs out the cigarette, takes my hand and kisses my palm before entwining our fingers, resting them on his thigh rubbing his thumb over mine. I scoot closer, place my head on his shoulder and he turns to kiss my forehead comforting me.
“Don’t even think about kissing me on the mouth before brushing your teeth twice and gargle with holy water mister.” I growl mimicking his scary Dean voice and he gruffs out a laugh like I hoped he would.
“I’m sorry I’ve reacted like that back at the motel. I’ve never forgotten before, no matter how loaded I’ve been. Except that once…”
Dean’s voice falls off at the memory of the only child he’s positively known to have had, the Amazon daughter who’d have killed him if not for Sam.
I turn and kiss his cheek before laying back against his shoulder for the rest of the ride home.
🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧
The Bunker
Seven weeks later
“The stay-at-home orders will be extended for another two weeks as the state has seen a rise in positive coronavirus cases over the weekend. Officials say this is likely due to the expanded testing around the state…”
“You could’ve sent us frogs or locusts but noooo, had to get creative on this one Chuck.” Dean sarcastically grumbles, switching off the kitchen radio and finishes cooking his breakfast.
Jack had grabbed a bowl of cereal before disappearing with Cas researching some new cryptic info that Billie had dropped on them the other day. Dean heard the main door bang shut at Sam’s returning from his morning run.
As he passes the freezer he grabs a smoothie setting it on the counter to thaw out since Sam’s drinking some weird concoctions for breakfast these days.
Sam enters the kitchen unexpectedly still in his sweaty clothes carrying a couple store bags and a concerned expression.
“Um, Dean, I don’t think Y/N has the flu,” he remarks, pulling out the unmistakable yellow and blue box. “I bought these two months ago.”
Dean looked up from his plate of bacon and cheesy eggs, eyes focusing on the unopened box. “Since when do you get my girlfriends things?” He asks, nodding at the box.
“Tampons, Dean. I’ll sometimes pick them up for her when it's my turn to do the shopping. I got these at CVS,” Sam shows him the receipt he found with them, “Y/N usually gets them from Rite-Aid.”
Dean clears his throat, mentally wincing at how his brother seemed to know more about Y/N’s preferences than him, “How do you know that’s the box you bought, maybe she got them there too?”
“The date on the receipt and she hasn’t updated her app.”
“App?” Dean inquires around a mouth full, looking confused.
“So a few days ago I was showing Jack the new archive program when a notification popped up about Y/N’s Period Tracker not being synced in fifty days. I didn’t think anything of it, figured she missed it with everything going on, Jess sometimes did with hers. I checked the WC and found these. I checked again today they were still there and she hasn’t entered her last two periods. I stopped in town and got this.” He hands the other bag to Dean.
Dean opens the bag like something’s gonna attack him before gingerly pulling out the Clear Blue Digital Pregnancy Test.
🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧
“It could be wrong, a false positive because she took it wrong.”
“All you do is pee on the end of the stick and wait three minutes for the results,” Sam's tone exacerbated at his brother's bullshit excuses, “even you couldn’t screw that up Dean.”
“She could be in that peripause.”
“What the hell is peripause?”
“Don’t you know what it’s called Mr. Know-it-all?”
“Peri-menopause,” My voice booms throughout the library startling them both, “and FYI you two, when a woman hits her forties all this,” I say gesturing in a circle around my middle, ”doesn’t automatically stop functioning normally.”
“Your forty-one! The chances of you getting pregnant goes down after thirty something!” Dean snaps setting me off in a nanosecond.
“Halle Berry got pregnant the old fashion way at forty-seven!” I shot back really pissed at the shitty excuses he’s trying. “Should’ve known you’d react like dear old dad to unwelcome news.”
Sam shot out of his seat at the expression crossing Dean’s face, contorting into the look that makes monsters with any sense run for its life, ready to step in if needed.
“Since I can’t go to the clinic thanks to Chuck's latest temper tantrum get Castiel so we can settle this,” I head for the doorway leading to the kitchen and pause.
“I’m sorry for what I said, I didn’t mean it. It’s obvious you don’t want to have a baby w...” I hurried out not finishing the sentence. Fucking hell, I’m hormoning already.
🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧
Dean can’t stop pacing back and forth in my bedroom as Castiel gently lays his hand over my lower abdomen and closes his eyes in concentration.
“Come on man, is she or isn’t she?” Dean impatiently barks at the angel.
“Dude!” Sam snaps with his exasperated little brother expression from the desk chair he’s seated upon with Jack perched on the desk itself.
Cas opened his brilliant blue eyes wondrously staring into mine.
I stare back.
“Yes, you are pregnant.”
“How the hell are you pregnant? You said you took the morning after pill!” Sam’s chair scraped the floor as he jumped started by Dean’s lashing out at me in anger. I don’t react knowing it’s his go to coping mechanism when he’s scared.
“She took the pill Dean.” Cas reassures him at the same time tipping his head to the side reading what I’m not voicing.
I can’t believe it failed..what could it do to the fetus...the alcohol and drugs I’ve ingested all this time...
Castiels rough voice takes on an unusually gentle cadence snapping me out of my own head, “I do not detect any birth defects Y/N, they are quite healthy.”
“Wait, what do you mean they Cas?” Sam speaks first seemingly the only one who caught the last bit.
“Twins? We’re…we’re having twins?!” Jack excitedly blurts out, “I’m gonna be a big brother!”
“I think we should leave. Dean and Y/N have a lot to discuss.” Cas says getting up cocked his head at Jack to proceed him out the door. Sam gives his brother a look I can’t decipher.
“I’m good Sammy,” Dean tells his brother so he’ll go, not breaking eye contact with me.
Sam gazes over at me and I nod it’s fine to leave. He squeezes Dean’s shoulder and heads out shutting the door behind him.
We stare at each other for a few moments before Dean rubs his face and walks over sitting down on the other side of the bed and pulls me into his arms, neither of us ready to face the decision that makes the most sense.
tbc
A/N: I originally planned on ending this here. That being said, I am seriously considering doing a part II because I hate breaking Dean’s heart.
A/NII: I’ve gotten a lot of great feedback and will be doing a part Il.

Playing House - Ch 1: Welcome Home
He shifted the duffle bag higher over his shoulder and walked on, toward the back of the dealership building. “I’m here, just like you asked,” Dick said, raising his voice. “Alone. I have your mon—”
He stopped dead in his tracks as car headlights flicked on, directly ahead of him.
This wasn’t a ransom drop-off.
Read more on Ao3
This chapter fills the Whumptober 2020 prompt for Day 2: kidnapping. I have planned on writing about five prompts into this story, but who knows?
Overall warnings for this story: kidnapping, nonconsensual restraints, attempted nonconsensual drugging, domestic abuse, using family members as hostages, forced infantilism (not the kinky kind), some form of gaslighting, and the antagonist uses some “parenting phrases” that may be triggering for some folks (counting down, for example)
Warnings for this chapter: all of the above, plus ransom demands, being threatened with a gun, non-consensual non-sexual kissing (not on the lips), (the word “sugar,” as in “give me some sugar,” has a familiar affection connotation rather than a sexual one where I am from (southern US); I am warning for it regardless)
Dick’s feet hit the pavement as hard as the rain.
“Tim! Damian!”
There were no answers. A few people taking shelter from the weather in a nearby pavilion glanced over, but nobody said anything. This was Gotham, after all.
Dick’s jacket was soaked through, but he didn’t stop long enough to take it off. He wiped water out of his eyes and peered into the foggy weather around him. There was an open gazebo smack-dab in the center of the park, and he raced to it so he could get a better look.
His feet slid on the wet floor when he got inside, but he wasted no time pulling out his phone. While it rang, he searched the park again, in all directions, as though there were a chance the two of them had left their bags under a picnic shelter to play a demented game of hide-and-seek and would pop out from behind a tree, cackling.
He turned Tim’s broken camera over in his hands. No way he would have left it; it was new, a gift for his birthday.
He was so focused on his search he didn’t notice, at first, when Bruce answered the phone. He snapped back to reality with a sharp, “Richard. Report.”
“They’re gone.” He was panting from his sprint through the park. “I’ve looked everywhere, and they’re gone.”
“What do you mean, gone?”
“They left all of their stuff at our pavilion. Tim left his camera – the lens is cracked. I found it on the ground a few feet away.” He had to stop to catch his breath, and he swiped his soaked hair back off his forehead.
“Have you tried calling them?”
“Nobody answered.”
“I’ll have Alfred try again from the secure line. When did you last see them?”
“We had just finished setting out the food. I saw an old friend from school and we got talking, and when I got back they were gone.” His breath hitched when he saw two figures running down the path ahead of him. “Wait. I think I see them.”
Without hesitation, he ran after the figures. “Tim! Damian!”
They didn’t answer, but that was typical. As Dick got closer, though, he realized with a heavy heart it wasn’t his brothers. The two joggers hurried past him without a second glance.
“Dick?”
“It wasn’t them.”
A sound caught his attention. A familiar tune, one he had heard chirping through the thin walls of the manor countless times. He tuned out Bruce and followed the sound of Damian’s ringtone, hope building in his chest.
He found Damian’s cell phone, and that hope plummeted.
He reached into the weeds and pulled out the device. The screen was cracked, but he could clearly make out the caller ID across the screen. He hung up his own phone to answer Damian’s.
“Master Damian?”
“It’s me, Alfred,” Dick answered, voice flat.
“I think Tim and Damian have been abducted.”
xXx
Twelve hours later, Dick pulled his vehicle into a used car dealership’s parking lot. He scanned the lot as he pulled through, but didn’t find any signs of life. The shadows were still; the night silent. He seemed to be alone.
“I want to talk to Richard,” the kidnapper had said through a voice modifier. Bruce had spluttered a refusal, but Dick didn’t hesitate to answer with, “I’m here.”
Dick found a spot to park, but hesitated before opening the door. He rested a hand on the seat next to him, where a stuffed black duffel bag waited.
“Bring $100,000 in unmarked fifty-dollar bills. No consecutive serial numbers. Pick it up from different banks and accounts. Come alone.”
Dick hoisted the bag over his shoulder, wincing as its weight dug in. It was heavy, and nearly dragged him off-balance as he exited his car. His breath fogged in the night’s chill, and his car door shutting sounded like a nail in a coffin.
“Don’t involve the police,” the kidnapper had said. “If I see a single cop get involved in the case, I’ll kill one of the boys. And I’ll let you decide which.”
Batman was around here, somewhere. Dick looked from the corner of his eye, and spotted a flash of movement from a rooftop not too far away. If they weren’t able to catch the criminal tonight, they would still be able to collect enough evidence to put him away.
But the most important thing was getting Tim and Damian back.
“We need proof they’re still alive.”
“Oh, I can help with that.” Dick and Bruce exchanged a worried look over the phone speaker as footsteps sounded over the other end. A door creaked open. Then, “Timmy, honey, say something for your dad?”
The distinctive sound of bedsprings squeaking. “Bruce?”
“See? Safe and sound, as long as you follow my rules.”
There didn’t seem to be anybody at the meeting place. “Hello?” Dick called out.
No response.
He dropped the duffel bag to the ground and backed up, but he couldn’t outrun a car. Wheels squealed on the pavement as the car lurched forward and took a sharp turn, cornering Dick against the brick wall. The trunk of the car popped open, and the streetlights glinted off the barrel of a gun.
“If you ever want to see your brothers again, you’ll get inside right now.”
It was a woman.
It was all the thought he had to process before a warning shot buried in the brick wall next to him, spitting dust and shrapnel at his face. He blinked and coughed, ducking to avoid a second shot.
“Get in right now! Don’t make me count!”
Weird choice of words. When he looked up, Batman had crept into the parking lot, and waited behind a car to pounce.
“One!”
Dick looked over the car, using his shock and fear as an excuse for his hesitation. There was no license plate, no identifying marks. He suspected it was a car from the lot itself. The woman wore black clothing; none of her skin or hair showed.
“Two!”
They didn’t know enough to identify the kidnapper; even if they were able to catch her, they wouldn’t be able to find Tim and Damian on their own. There was a chance she didn’t intend to take Dick to the same place, either.
Dick made eye contact with Batman, across the lot. Batman’s mouth was a hard flat line.
“Two and a half!” the woman shouted, through grit teeth.
Dick raised his hands. “Don’t hurt them,” he pleaded. “I’m coming.”
He rose to a full stand and shifted to the side, toward the trunk. The woman turned to point the gun at the back of the car while he climbed inside.
It was clean, at least.
She barely waited long enough for him to get both feet inside before she slammed the accelerator, and the trunk slammed shut over Dick’s head.
xXx
He felt the car swerve through city streets for what he estimated was twenty minutes, before they pulled onto a highway and drove for another hour or two. He reached out to smash one of the car’s taillights, but found them blocked with an extra layer of sheet metal. He used his hands to search the darkness for the switch that would open the trunk from the inside, but, predictably, this was missing, too.
She changed cars nearly two hours after they began their journey, forcing Dick’s wrists and ankles into two sets of leather cuffs that buckled behind his back. He felt sick to his stomach when he realized they were soft from use. She let him sit in the back seat, this time, with the assurance that the child lock was engaged and any “shenanigans” would be met with severe punishment. After she buckled him into the seat, she put a pair of sunglasses over his eyes. The lenses had been taped over; he was effectively blindfolded.
They drove another two hours. Dick worried his bottom lip with his teeth the entire car ride.
xXx
“Dick!”
“Tim?”
The sunglasses were ripped from his face, and he stumbled in the sudden light flooding the room.
It was a relatively small space, with two identical twin-sized beds set against opposite, pastel-blue walls. A dresser and desk took up most of the far wall. The lone window, above the desk, was boarded over.
Tim was lying in one of the beds. He wore similar cuffs to Dick’s, except his were attached to the metal headboard, keeping him pinned back. There were dark circles under his eyes, but Dick couldn’t find much else wrong with him on his first look-over.
“What are you doing here?” Tim asked.
Dick ignored the question, trying and failing to get closer to his little brother. “Are you hurt?”
“Timmy,” the woman behind Dick said, saccharine voice strained with the effort of pulling Dick toward the opposite twin bed.
Tim stiffened. His eyes tracked over Dick’s shoulder.
“You kicked your sheets down again. How many times do I have to tell you?” she admonished. “If you do it again, you’ll get time-out.”
“You’re crazy,” Tim said. “And I’m an adult.” He scowled at the look Dick shot to him. “Shut up, Dick.”
“Young man, you’re already in trouble.” The woman pushed Dick down onto the opposite bed. “Language like that is not allowed under my roof.”
“Then let us go.”
“That’s not how families act.” She pinned Dick down with a hand on his chest, and Dick got his first good look at her. She looked to be around her mid-thirties. Her strawberry blonde hair was pulled back into a messy bun, and her face was still round with youthfulness, even if there were the beginnings of creases around her eyes and mouth. Her makeup reminded Dick of old Hollywood movies.
As Dick studied her, she pulled something out of her pocket. When she smiled, it was sweet and warm. “Open up, sweetheart.”
Dick eyed the pill. He couldn’t tell what it was. “Uh. No, thanks.”
“Take the medicine and you’ll get some sugar.”
Dick recoiled. “No.”
She sighed. “The longer we have to do this, the longer it will be until I can check on your baby brother.”
Dick glanced around the room again. There were no signs Damian had even been there.
Tim seemed to know what he was looking for without him having to voice it. “I haven’t seen him since the park.”
“Hush, Timmy. You’re supposed to be asleep.” The sharp words were tempered by her soft expression. When she looked down at Dick, she held up three fingers. “I’ll give you to the count of three, and if you don’t take your medicine, I will have to put you in time-out, too.”
The counting again. It wasn’t unusual for Gotham’s villains to have their themes, but Dick had to admit this one was new.
“One.”
Maybe one of Calendar Man’s cousins? Dick fought the urge to roll his eyes.
“Two.”
“Dick,” Tim said, voice quiet. Dick looked past the woman’s hand and met Tim’s gaze.
Tim shook his head, just slightly.
The woman’s face was slowly getting more red, but her expression was frozen. “Thr—”
Dick opened his mouth.
“Oh!” Her smile stretched wider, revealing pearly white teeth. “Thank you for doing what I asked.” She placed the pill on his tongue and waited expectantly for Dick to swallow it.
Dick pocketed it under his tongue and pretended to swallow.
“See, that wasn’t so hard, was it?” The woman didn’t seem too interested in waiting for the drugs to take effect. She got busy unlocking the cuffs behind Dick’s back and reattaching them to the bedframe in a mirror of Tim’s position. When she had finished, she stood up, admiring her work. “Would you like me to tuck you in, Richie?”
Dick’s face screwed up at the nickname. Ew. “No.”
She seemed determined to ignore him, reaching down and pulling the navy blue sheets over his legs and torso, tucking them into the sides tight enough they practically pinned him to the mattress.
“Where is Damian?” Dick asked.
“Dami’s in the nursery, where he’s supposed to be.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“Shh, Richie.” She bent down at the foot of his bed, and a night light flicked on. “It’s time for bed.”
She leaned down over his face, and Dick cringed back.
She pressed a chaste kiss to his forehead.
He froze.
She stood up again and walked over to Tim, tucking him in again and repeating the gesture. Tim twisted his head away, and received a sharp slap in retaliation. Where she kissed his forehead she left a smudge of bright red lipstick.
The woman walked to the door and waited in the open doorway. “Goodnight, boys,” she said, sickeningly sweet. “Sweet dreams.”
The door locked behind her.

Part 2 Part 3
________________________
Yang brought her machete down with a grunt, cutting through the thick jungle ahead of her.
It was just her luck. Of course she had to crash-land in the thickest part of the jungle. Now she was wandering aimlessly, trying to find any sign of human civilization, with only her machete and her water bottle tied to her hip. It was just supposed to be a scouting mission, she wasn't prepared for this.
Yang stopped to wipe the sweat from her brow, it was so hot. She had tied her long-sleeve explorers button up around her waist a long time ago, leaving her arms exposed in her tank top.
The journalist was lucky that she had many years of flying experience under her belt, or else that crash-landing wouldn't have been so successful.
Well, Yang thought, as successful as a crash-landing could be. Her plane was totaled, it would never fly again, and unfortunately for her, the radio had gotten completely smashed in the process as well.
Yang had been flying over this region to see if she could gain any information on the weird happenings here, before her plane jolted and alarms started blaring. Engine failure.
“Shit, shit, shit!” Yang said, frantically flipping the switches above her head to divert the power to the one remaining engine.
It wasn't enough, she was losing altitude fast. She had no other choice but to deploy the landing gear, not that it would do much, but the parachute that had been deployed out of the back would hopefully slow her descent.
Seeing the top of the canopy rapidly closing in, she braced herself for impact. Her plane crashed through the tops of the trees, making Yang's head smash into the control wheel. The plane's left wing then hit a thick tree, sending it spiraling towards the ground. Yang blacked out before she landed.
Yang shook her head of the memory and refocused. She looked around to try and get her bearings with no success. Everything looked the same in every direction. Yang felt the beginnings of panic swell in her chest, it'll be dark soon. She took a deep breath to try and quell her uneasiness, and started in the same direction she'd been going. East. That’s the way she flew here from after all, and plus, she didn't really see a better option.
Yang hiked for the better part of an hour, cutting through leaves and vines when they got too thick. Her boots crunching on the forest floor as she walked.
I should start looking for food, she thought, Or maybe shelter? Yea shelter would be nice. Yang raised her hand to her forehead to feel the bump that had formed there and winced. She definitely had a concussion.
Yang, distractedly, cut through the next layer of vines, coming suddenly face to face with another human being. She screamed loudly and promptly fell on her ass, raising her machete in front of her defensively.
Chest heaving, she looked closely at the other person before furrowing her eyebrows. “Wait a minute.” She muttered, and got up to her feet. That wasn't a person...
It was a statue.
____________
A scream echoed through the jungle and the girl shot up from her spot on the branch she had been relaxing on, high in the treetops. Her ears twitching on top of her head, trying to identify what direction it came from.
Her heart raced with worry.
Intruder.
She grabbed her spear and took off through the trees towards the sound.
____________
That's weird. Yang thought, looking around as if to find the answer as to why there's a random statue in the middle of the jungle.
Finding nothing, she turned her head to look at it more closely. It's so detailed, realistic. It made the hairs on the back of Yang's neck stand up. She wished she had her camera.
Instead, she pulled a little notebook out of her pocket along with a small pencil. She needed to take note of this, she was a journalist after all.
After taking some time to write about the statute and it’s detail, she pocketed the notebook and grabbed her machete again. Yang took one more look at the stone figure before continuing on.
Another twenty minutes passed before she caught sight of another statute off to her left.
What is going on? This one looked completely different from the first one she saw. This one looked female. It had its arms out in front of it as if it was blocking an attack.
Yang was about to make her way over to the statue to get a better look, when her feet were kicked out from underneath her. Her back hit the ground roughly and before she could even think about raising her machete, there was a foot on her wrist keeping the weapon pinned to the ground and something sharp pressing against her neck.
“Who are you?” A voice said.
Later, Yang will look back on this moment impressed. She had no idea she was being followed, this person, whoever they were, moved through the forest so silently she didn't even know they were there until she was at their mercy.
“Please don't kill me!” Yang's eyes were shut as she begged, “My plane crashed in this jungle and I'm lost, I have no idea where I am!”
The pressure on her neck increased, any harder and it would break skin. “Who are you?” The voice said again, firmer this time, but not louder.
“My name is Yang Xiao Long,” She tried again, “I'm a journalist who was flying over this area to gain information about the strange happenings here before my plane crash-landed.”
That was obviously the wrong thing to say because the machete was kicked from her hand and a knee was brought down onto her chest, knocking the wind out of her. The pressure on her neck not letting up.
“You are trespassing on our lands, you are not welcomed here.”
Yang cracked her eyes open. A girl was kneeling on her chest, holding a spear to her throat. She was tan and wore a mask that covered the top half of her face from the eyes up. She had long black hair that was pulled back into intricate braids. But the most curious thing however, was the extra set of ears the girl had perched on top of her head that were currently pinned back defensively.
“Look,” Yang started, more calmly this time, trying to ease the girl on top of her, “I-I’m not here to cause trouble or hurt anyone, I'm just trying to find a way back home.”
The pressure on her neck eased up a fraction. “You’re not a hunter?” The girl asked.
“No! No, I'm here by accident, I swear.”
“Then why did you say you’re here to gain information, what do you want with my family.”
“Your family? You live out here?”
The girl said nothing, waiting for Yang to answer her question.
Yang took a breath, she needed to tread carefully. “Apparently, the people who enter this area of the jungle never come back. There have been over thirty cases of travelers who have gone missing in the past twenty-five years.”
“Travelers?!” the girl snarled, “They were murderers and thieves. Your kind only comes here to hurt this forest and my family, you shouldn't be here.”
Yang's eyes widen. “You know what happened to them?”
The girl tilted her head in confusion, “You really don't know who we are?”
Bewildered by everything going on, Yang raised her voice, “No!!”
In an instant the spear was lifted from her neck and a hand was covering her mouth.
“Shut up, you're being too loud.” The girl was leaning in close. Close enough that Yang could see the little freckles on the girl's cheek as she turned her head to look around.
The girl turned her head back to look at Yang through masked eyes. “There is a village about an eight days walk from here. Your kind set up camp there a few months back.” She spat out the words like it left a bad taste in her mouth. “I can take you there but only if you do as I say and keep your mouth shut. This forest is cruel to those who do not know it.”
With wide eyes, Yang nodded, and the girl slowly lifted her hand from her mouth and got up to her feet. She picked up Yang's machete and tied it to her own waist. “We have to move quickly, it'll be dark soon.” She said, already walking away.
Yang scrambled up to follow her, “Where are we going?”
“I have a shelter built not far from here,” She said, keeping a brisk pace. “But, with you making so much noise there's no doubt the forest already knows you're here. We have to hurry.”
“Wait!” Yang said, stopping the girl in her tracks as she turned slightly to look at her. “What uh.. What’s your name?”
The girl turned her body fully in the direction of Yang, her chest puffing up to make herself look bigger as she planted her spear in the ground with a thud. Yang was definitely not intimidated.
“My name is Blake Belladonna, and my family and I are the guardians of this land.”

Stuck (3/?) Vegas Part 1
Tumblr media
Length: 2.5k
Warnings: Language, drinking, gambling, fluff, smut
A/n: Seb in this shirt inspired this smut. GIF not mine. DO NOT POST TO ANY OTHER WEBSITE. Reblog please! There will be a Vegas Part 2!
Liv was exhausted but her mind was keeping her from falling asleep. She just worked 4 12’s in a row and she should have been able to fall asleep quickly. She had been tossing and turning in bed for about an hour when she heard Sebastian unlocking her front door.
With her apartment dark he quietly walked in, put his bag down, and shoes off.
“I’m awake,” she said quietly.
“Sorry. Dinner ran late,” he said taking his clothes until he was only in his underwear. He lifted the blankets up and lay down on his side of the bed. They had been together for 3 months and hadn’t spent a night apart so sides of the bed had been determined a long time ago.
“Sorry I didn’t want to go,” she said scooting over to be closer to him.
“You’re tired, I get it,” he said lifting his arm up so she could snuggle up in the nook of his neck where she fit perfectly. He brought his hand up to cup her face and leaned his head down to kiss her.
“I can’t fall asleep. My mind is racing,” she said after taking a deep breath.
“What are you thinking about?”
“Do you have any regrets?”
“Where did that come from?”
“I’ve had this patient for 2 weeks and his response every time I ask him how he is doing is ‘I’ve got no regrets so I can’t complain.’ I’ve been thinking about regrets a lot today.”
“Do you have any?”
“Yeah, I think if I could go back and change anything I would have handled things with my dad better.”
Liv had a complicated relationship with her dad. He wasn’t the kind of dad to say “I love you” or even hug or kiss his kids and she had always held that against him. A few years ago they had gotten into a fight where Liv let out a lifetime of frustration on him and said some things she knew really hurt him.
“But you and your dad are okay now.”
“I guess. I mean we aren’t close and probably never will be but I still regret what I said to him. What about you?”
“I don’t think I have any regrets. Everything I have done has led me to be right here so it’s hard to regret any of it, you know. I worry about regretting things in the future though.”
“What do you mean?”
“Like I worry about missing out on something because I made a wrong decision or not getting to do everything I want to do cause I ran out of time. Shit like that.”
“My patient is just always so happy. He’s really sick but always smiling. Maybe it’s the no regrets lifestyle and I should try it out.”
“Maybe we should.”
“Love you,” she said as she settled in his arms.
“Love you,” he said as he kissed her forehead.
Liv was finally able to drift off soon after. Maybe it was due to talking about what was bothering her or Sebastian’s calming presence. Whatever it was, she was thankful. Her question got Sebastian thinking about regrets and him not wanting to have them as he tried to fall asleep.  He came up with a plan he would share with Liv in the morning.
----------------------------
Sebastian wasn’t in her apartment when Liv woke up and she figured he had probably gone to the gym or something. She was a little confused 30 minutes later when he burst through her front door with his suitcase rolling in behind him.
“I need you to pack a bag,” he said walking towards her and smiling big with excitement.
“Pack for what?”
“I’m calling it The No Regrets Tour and our flight leaves in 3 hours,” he said after checking his watch.
“No Regrets Tour? Where are we going?”
“You know last night I was thinking about regretting things because I didn’t have time to do it or go to that place and my first thought was we should go to Australia but since we only have a few days I went with our second travel destination.”
“You want to go to Vegas? Today?”
“You up for it? You think you can handle all this sexiness in Vegas?” he asked jokingly gesturing to his glorious body.
“Honey, I think you need to worry about handling all of me when I am in Vegas,” she told him with a wink. She could almost see the wheels turning in his head while he smiled big as he thought about her response.
“This is quickly turning into my best idea ever!” he said kissing her.
 -----------------------------------------------
“Traveling with you has its perks Seb,” Liv said as she looked around the suite he had booked and thinking about the first class tickets, the town car that was waiting for them at the airport, entering the hotel through the back entrance, and then the quick check in.
“You like it?”
“You did good,” she said and then wrapped her arms around him as they looked out the window at the Las Vegas strip.
“Oh, look. Thunder from Down Under,” he said pointing at the large billboard advertising the show. “That could count as a little bit of Australia.”
Liv laughed.
“I came here for my 21st birthday with my mom and we stayed here one night and then she transferred us to the Wynn because people shutting doors were waking her up. Well, that’s what she says anyway. I think she just really wanted to stay at the Wynn. Such a diva,” she said obviously joking.
Sebastian laughed while he snaked his hands around her waist to pull her closer and she brought her arms up to circle his shoulders as she kissed him.
Liv’s phone rang at the same exact time as there was a knock at the door.
“That’s our bags,” he grunted out as he unwrapped his arms from around her and then went to answer the door.
“Speak of the diva,” she said as she answered the FaceTime on her phone. “Hey Mom.”
“Hey, how's my favorite daughter?
"You say that to your other daughter, too. Don't act like we don't know."
"I just saw your Instagram. You didn’t tell me you were going out of town.”
“It was very last minute. When did you get Instagram?”
“Your Aunt Kathy let’s me use hers. So where’d you go?”
“Just took a quick trip,” Liv said flipping the camera to show the Las Vegas strip view.
“Oh now I’m jealous! Where are you staying?”
“At my favorite. The Bellagio,” Liv replied flipping the camera back around.
“Did you warn Sebastian how loud it is? Oh there he is!" she said seeing him walk in the background. "Sebastian, did she tell you how loud it is there?”
“Yes, she did,” he said stepping into full view of the camera. “I was actually thinking about switching to the Wynn,” he said and then took a playful elbow to his stomach from Liv.
“See Liv? I told you I thought he looked smart didn’t I?”
“That’s not the word you used Mom.”
“Well, anyways have a good time! You’re coming for dinner next weekend right? You too Sebastian?”
“Wouldn’t miss it,” he assured her.
“Bye Mom,” Liv said and then hung up. “What?” was her follow up question when she saw the smile on his face.
“Your mom loves me.”
“You're the only boyfriend who would talk to her on the phone before actually meeting her.”
“Yeah, I don’t just look smart for nothing.”
“You don't want to know what she actually said. It was wildly inappropriate,” Liv laughed.
“So what do you want to do first? Drink, shop, eat, gamble?”
“Yes.”
“Which one?”
“You can do all of them all at the same time here. Let me show you how to properly sin.”
 -------------------------------------------
Eight hours and copious amounts of alcohol later they were sitting at a blackjack table. Liv had busted already while Sebastian had the choice of staying at 20 or splitting the 2 10’s. Unsure of how to bet he shot a glance at Liv.
"No regrets tour," she answered shrugging her shoulders. He puckered his lips and nodded his head then added another $100 bet to split the cards. He hit blackjack on both hands with an ace dealt for each.
“No fucking way!” Liv laughed in disbelief.
“You ready to go?” he asked stacking up his chips.
“Yeah.”
He generously tipped the dealer $100 while Liv threw her chips in her bag and then he tossed his chips in with hers.
“How much are you up?” she asked while handing him her phone to hold because she couldn’t zip up her clutch as they walked away.
“Two grand maybe? Who is Poodle?” he asked looking at her ringing phone.
“Alex,” and she followed by answering her phone with, “Anastasia Beaverhausen.” The latter caused Sebastian to do a spit take.
“Hold on, I think I killed Seb,” she laughed.
You need help burying the body?
“Nah, false alarm. You and I can’t sneak away and get married now.”
Is that what you are doing in Vegas?
“What?”
I said what are you doing in Vegas?
“Pursuing my lifelong dream of being in a celebrity sex tape.”
I better get a copy because you sure as shit won’t describe his dick to me.
“We’re going up to the room. I’ll call you tomorrow.”
Okay, fuck that Winter Soldier real good!
“Copy that,” she said rolling her eyes and hanging up.
“I’m really glad you brought up a sex tape cause I brought my camera and uh...” he teased raising his eyebrows as they waited for the elevator.
Liv playfully pushed him away.
As soon as the doors to the elevator closed Sebastian had her pinned against the wall, kissing her with his hands roaming all over her body. She thought about stopping him but then she decided “fuck it.” This is Las Vegas and they would not be the first couple to get a little handsy in the elevator. Neither one of them noticed the doors had opened on their floor until the people waiting for the elevator cleared their throats.
“Sorry, she just won’t stop attacking me in elevators,” he said grabbing Liv’s hand and leading the way out of the elevator.
“Oh my god. Lies!” Liv responded.
“Hey man, aren’t you Bucky?” the man asked as they passed him.
Sebastian stopped walking, turned around and said, “Who the hell is Bucky?”
“No way!” the man said with excitement. “Can I get a picture?”
“Yeah, sure.”
Sebastian took a picture with the man and his girlfriend who clearly had no idea who he was.
“Awesome! Thank you so much!”
“Yeah, no worries!  Have a good night!” he said as he put his arm around Liv and began walking down the hall to their suite.
“Who is Bucky?” Liv had to ask.
“That’s who I play in the Cap movies,” he said stopping at the door and putting the key card in.
“I thought you were the Winter Soldier?”
“I’m both. It’s the same person.”
“You have multiple personalities?”
“What? No! Why isn’t this working?” he said putting the key in for the 4th time and seeing the same red light appear.
Liv turned to look at the door and then saw the room number. “Shit! This is not our room number, “she laughed.
The door suddenly opened and the obviously annoyed occupant asked, “Can I help you?”
“Oh fuck! I’m so sorry! Wrong room.”
The only response they got was the door being shut.
Liv was in a ball of drunken laughter on the floor as she pointed to the room across the hall. He was laughing almost as hard as she was as he tried the key in that one and it worked on the first try.
“Come on,” he said holding his hand out to help Liv up and then pulled her inside. “God damn hotel. Why would they switch the rooms like that?”
Something in Liv switched when she walked into the suite. She heard him say something as he shut the door but honestly could not have cared less what it was. She noted it was something that he must have amused himself with because he was smiling his goofy smile when she turned around.
She dropped her purse on the ground while kicking off her shoes, grabbed Sebastian by the collar of his shirt and pulled his lips down to hers with her hand on the back of his neck. His smile got wider against her lips as he wrapped his arms around her. She started gently pushing him in the opposite direction of the bedroom so he pulled away.
“Other wa-“ he said but was cut off by her shoving him up against the door. Oh! It’s going to be one of those nights. He smiled knowingly and excitedly.
She brought her lips back up to his hurriedly and he responded passionately while unzipping her dress and pushing the straps down so it fell to the floor. She slipped her hands up his burgundy shirt and he quickly removed it. Her hands briefly grazed the nape of his neck while she slipped her tongue past his lips. She let her hands feel all the way down his chest, to his abs and down to undo his pants. He moaned as she slid her hand into his boxer briefs and stroked his rapidly enlarging cock.
She broke the kiss to kiss down his body until she was down of her knees pulling his pants down and wasted no time before gently sucking the precum off his tip.
He sighed “Fuck” as she moved her mouth up and down his shaft stopping to swirl her tongue around the tip before resuming the motion. Alternating between fast and slow head bobbing following her mouth with her hand had him rapidly approaching his release.
He bent down placing his hands on her arms bringing her back up and she wrapped her arms around his neck. She brought one leg up knowing his next action and he held onto it so she could bring the other leg up to wrap around his waist.
With his pants still around his ankles and his lips finding hers again, he shuffled into the other room and collapsed on top of her on the bed. He stood back up to step out of his pants while taking her underwear off, then climbed back on top and positioned himself to thrust into her but was stopped when she flipped him over to be on top and guided him into her core. His hands gripped her hips tightly as she moved up and down until she grabbed his wrists and moved his arms up above his head, entwining her fingers with his and kissing him deeply. It was all tongue and nibbles on his lips until she was clenching around him and moaning his name.
He quickly grabbed her hips again and rolled her over, then wasted no time before pounding into her fast and deep until he felt her back arch and clench around him again. A few thrusts later he came.
He hovered above her and murmured, "God, I love you,” before bringing his lips back onto hers.
When he finally broke the kiss she replied, "Love you too.”

Fic: 31 days of whump (23/31)
And of course I needed to make a chapter regarding some of the general challenges we’re going through. And who’s the main whumpee in my universe? You guessed, it. Luca.
Word count: 2 516
“You know, it would’ve been a lot easier if everyone just followed the quarantine rules.” Hondo sighed as Black Betty roared through the streets of downtown LA.
“So true, so true.” Deacon nodded as he strapped his helmet on.
“Evil never sleeps.” Tan shrugged as he made sure the laces of his boots were tucked in.
“Well, neither do we!” Luca grinned from behind the wheel.
“Ain’t that right!” Hondo chuckled as they turned into the block they were headed to, “Alright, you know the deal. Stay liquid!”
 SWATSWATSWAT
It’s a heart-stopping moment when you suddenly know everything’s going to go wrong. When you know you’re screwed over. When you’re looking down the barrel of a loaded gun.
It wasn’t the first time in his career, and in a weird way he hoped it wouldn’t be the last one either. Last one sounded too, final.
“Please…” he attempted, “Don’t shoot, please.”
“Put your gun down!” the masked guy yelled.
Luca nodded and the gun tracked his movements.
He could feel his heart beating at his max limit. His mouth was dry as plaster wall, his hands were starting to get shaky.
Everything’s going to be alright, Luca… Everything’s going to be alright.
And everything was going alright.
-Until a car outside backfired, and the scared shitless masked guy who probably wasn’t used to holding weapons to people put a bit too much pressure on the trigger and fired.
At first it felt like someone hit him in the thigh with a baseball bat. And he had a couple of glorious seconds filled with that weird feeling when you know you’ve been hit hard by something, but it doesn’t hurt yet. Where everything is just stupidly numb.
He slammed to the floor, it was like his right leg just disappeared from below him.
“SHIT!” Luca almost barked a laugh when he heard the masked guy freak out, “Shit man! SHIT! I didn’t mean to!”
Then his brain started interpreting the signals his leg was sending him correctly, and lord it hurt. The pain was almost paralyzing.
Then his brain started decoding the severity of it all.
“F***!” he muttered to himself before pressing down on the radio button, “Officer down. GSW, right thigh. Making a tourniquet.”
Then he loosened his belt, and prepared to wrap that around high up on his thigh.
The masked kid was still freaking out five yards away. He had laid his gun down on the counter.
Luca looked down at the wound after he had tightened the makeshift tourniquet as much as he possibly could. It still bled too much.
He muttered another word of profanity.
“Kid! Hey kid!” it was a last ditch effort, he knew, but the others had gone upstairs because that was the information they had gotten. Fifth floor, two shooters. “Kid, I need help!”
The masked kid froze.
“Kid, can you find anything I can use as either a tourniquet or to press down on this wound?”
The kid looked at him. “What?”
“You know any first aid?”
The kid’s mouth fell open under the mask, then he nodded. “A little.”
“I need to put pressure on this.” Luca winced, “And-or something that works better as a tourniquet than my belt. Can you find that?”
The kid nodded and picked up his gun again, which Luca first took to be a very bad sign, before he saw the kid unhooking the strap from the assault rifle and placing the gun back where he had placed it earlier.
Then he jogged over to somewhere Luca couldn’t see, before he came back a few seconds later with a rolled up piece of fabric.
“I’m so sorry! I never meant to!” the kid apologized as he handed Luca the stuff, “I didn’t mean to shoot you!”
“Then why were you pointing a freaking gun at me?” Luca growled back, the pain setting him a bit more on edge than he liked.
“I’m sorry, I’m stupid.”
“Forget it, just help me with this…” Luca grimaced, pointing at his leg.
Rapid footsteps hurried down the stairs, Luca knew the team well enough to know that it was Hondo and Deacon.
“Luca, how bad is it?” Deacon asked.
Luca killed off a groan, before he called out for his two teammates, “Don’t shoot, we’re good here!”
Then he looked at the wound on his leg, it was still bleeding steadily. “Harder.”
The kid pressed down harder on the wound, causing Luca to collapse backwards with a long growl.
Deacon and Hondo ran over, taking in the scene.
“That’s not enough pressure.” Hondo noted, kneeling down beside the kid, who now had lifted his mask from his face. “Let me, alright?”
The kid nodded, but held pressure until Hondo was ready to take over.
Deacon secured the kid in handcuffs. Then he attempted finding better suited materials for a proper tourniquet.
 SWATSWATSWAT
The next couple of days were a blur of pain, low hemoglobin, pain and his mind playing PTSD-like tricks on him. Oh, and pain.
The x-rays had showed that the bullet had broken his femur a bit above his knee, and as a result of his leg collapsing in a weird way, he had managed to break his tibia as well. And along with that, a lot of soft tissue damage followed.
Thanks to the way the world was going to hell in a hurry, this wasn’t like any other of his previous hospital stays.
For one, he hadn’t had any visitors. They weren’t allowed in. Which he took as a good sign, right now visitors would probably mean that he was on the fast track to leaving in a body bag.
The other main thing was that his pain was nowhere near managed. He was basically getting Tylenol for a gunshot wound.
He had gotten a couple of bags worth of fullblood and some saline or whatever drips to keep the effects of blood loss down.
And the nurses tried their best to keep up with whatever shitshow was going on outside of his room, and avoid infecting other patients. That kind of setup limited the number of different nurses who came in to him during a shift. Usually it was just one per shift, with another one stepping in if the main nurse was called to one of the isolation rooms for something urgent.
He had already been the assistant in one of his own dressing changes. Which had not been his favorite part of the day. Luckily lifting by the metal rod going between the four sets of pins was a practical way to move his leg without too much pain or hassle. It hurt less holding the bar than his actual leg. That being said, with the minimum amount of pain killers he was on due to the now national shortage, it hurt more than it should anyway.
 SWATSWATSWAT
Luckily the internet still worked, and for the moment that would have to be his social lifeline to the rest of the world.
He was just about finished with his lunch when his phone started buzzing.
He picked it up and looked at it, seeing an incoming FaceTime call from Tuana.
He accepted the call with a grin.
“Hey there…” Tuana and Kelly grinned in unison.
“Hey girls!” he grinned back, “How’s quarantine life going?”
“It’s BORING!” Kelly frowned, “I can’t hang outside with my friends.”
Luca chuckled, “Well, this won’t last forever. Everyone just has to do their part until it passes.”
Kelly sighed, but nodded. “How are you doing Luca?”
He shrugged, he didn’t feel like admitting how bad it actually felt to her. He didn’t want this kid to see his weak side. “I’m holding up. It’s pretty boring here as well…”
“I wish we could come visit you…” she pouted.
“That would have been nice, but rules are rules…” he sighed, “I can barely wait for my leg to be good enough to get out of here and see you again.”
Kelly and Tuana nodded.
“Hey, Kelly… Could you give me and Luca some time alone?”
Kelly shrugged, “Oh, I could probably finish reading my book today!”
“That’s a GREAT idea!” Luca grinned, happy that Kelly had started finding joy in reading, “Talk to you later!”
“Yeah, later!” Kelly waved before she vanished from the screen.
Tuana followed her with her eyes, before she looked back at the screen, “Alright, she’s in her room.”
“Man, I miss you…” he sighed, “Both of you.”
“We miss you too…” Tuana replied.
“So, how’s self quarantine going?”
“Well, I’m bored as well. But…” she shrugged, “I think that’s mostly because I miss you.”
His chest felt warmer hearing that.
“So, how’s the hospital? How’s your leg?”
“Leg… My leg feels like it’s been shot.” Luca rolled his eyes, “It hurts.”
Tuana shot him an empathetic look.
“The hospital feels different. A bit middle-apocalyptic…”
She couldn’t help but chuckle.
“But are you good?” she asked, “Except the injured leg?”
“Yeah.” Luca nodded, “Except for the leg, I’m all good.”
“Can you show it to me?”
“The leg?”
Tuana nodded, “My mind kept providing me with all these worst case images ever since I heard you got shot.”
Luca nodded.
“I just need to see it so that my head doesn’t play it up worse than it is.”
Luca nodded, “I get it.”
“So, can you show me?”
“I can.” he nodded, “I’ve got some metal pins poking out of my leg and a bar or two linking them. And of course there’s bandage in between.”
She nodded.
“Just want you to be prepared, alright? And it’s pretty bruised. -And the bandage is partially soaked through.”
Tuana nodded.
“Alright, switching camera now.”
Tuana nodded, and Luca hit the icon to use the camera behind the phone instead of the front facing one.
“Ouch.” was all she said at first.
“Yeah, it… It looks how it looks.”
“Does they know if you’ll be back to normal?”
Luca shook his head a bit, but remembered that the camera was facing the wrong way. “No, they don’t.”
“What do they know?”
“That I won’t be putting weight on that leg for at least three months, or longer.” Luca switched the camera setting back, “And there’s no way of telling if I’ll be able to get back to work this time around, but they expect that if I make it… It’ll be at least a year before that happens.”
“And how long before you’re out of the hospital?”
“Not until my leg has stopped bleeding.” Luca sighed, “Might be anywhere from a few more days to a few more weeks.”
“You’re coming home to us then?” obvious hope in her eyes.
“Yeah, as long as you’ll have me.” Luca smirked.
“Always.” Tuana nodded.
 SWATSWATSWAT
It took two and a half weeks before he was released from the hospital, with Tylenol and crutches.
He could barely move, barely manage to stand up with help of his crutches. But seeing Tuana come to pick him up outside the hospital made his will bigger than anything.
Tuana was standing outside the hospital when the nurse who had been looking after him that day rolled him down to the lobby in a wheelchair to make things easier for him.
“Well, look at you, handsome!” Tuana grinned as Luca and the nurse came outside the main entrance.
“Hey!” Luca beamed back, “You won’t believe how good it is to finally see you again!”
“I think I have an idea…” Tuana chuckled, “I’ve missed you too, you know.”
Luca grinned. Then he looked at his truck, which Tuana was picking him up in. His expression fell a little.
“Err, I might need some help.” He paused, pointing at the truck, “I don’t think it’ll be easy to get into the passenger seat.”
“Well, I figured your truck would be easier than my tiny car…” Tuana shrugged.
“Oh, you’re definitely right about that.” Luca nodded, “But… My leg…”
Tuana nodded, she knew what he was trying to say. It was painful. Every fractional movement hurt, didn’t matter if it was planned or unplanned. She had learned that through their daily FaceTime calls.
 SWATSWATSWAT
They made it home to the apartment complex Tuana lived in, and up to the right floor. Luca was beading with sweat by the time she was about to unlock the door.
“Are you feeling alright?”
“A little lightheaded.” Luca answered honestly, “And that right there is the longest walk I’ve had in more than two weeks.”
“So, sit down?”
“Yeah. I need to sit down.” Luca swallowed, concentrating hard on keeping his balance.
“Can you make it inside to the couch?”
“Think so.”
“Try not to pass out on me, alright?”
“Yes Ma’am.” Luca nodded, keeping a death grip on his crutches.
She unlocked, and he made it in safely.
He hopped directly over to the couch, and started lowering himself onto the couch. Then he lifted his leg onto the couch with a grimace.
“Pillows? Do you need more pillows?”
“Nah. I’m good.” Luca grit out, looking nowhere near the vicinity of okay even.
“I’m finding more pillows.” She declared, “And a glass of water.”
“Thanks.”
As Tuana looked for pillows and a glass of water, the door to Kelly’s room clicked open, and she practically ran out to the living room. “Luca!”
He managed a brave smile, “Hey kiddo!”
She skidded to a stop a few feet away from the couch, her mouth agape. “Your leg…”
Luca nodded, “It looks… It doesn’t look good, does it?”
Kelly shook her head.
“It’s going to be alright.” He promised.
“Promise?”
“It’s going to take time, but my leg is going to get better.” Luca shrugged, “And I’ll be more fun again. I’m not very fun right now.”
Kelly looked between Luca’s face and his leg. “Why don’t you have a cast?”
“Because the doctors thought fixing my leg like this would be the best option.” Luca shrugged as he contemplated moving his leg a little. Those pillows Tuana was looking for would be very welcomed after all.
Kelly was silent for a few seconds extra, then she took a deep breath. “Can I give you a hug? We’re not supposed to hug now, because the virus, but… I want to give you a hug.”
Luca smiled, “Sure. A careful hug, alright?”
Kelly nodded and stepped over to hug him.
“Hey, I want to get in on that one…” Tuana chuckled as she came back in the living room.
Luca grinned, “It’s been way too long since we had a proper group hug, right?”
“Yeah.” Kelly nodded on his shoulder and he held out an arm for Tuana to join.
“I missed the two of you a lot.”
“We missed you too.” Kelly said, squeezing a bit harder, “Promise you won’t get shot again.”
“I’ll do my very best.” Luca nodded, “Alright?”
Kelly shrugged a bit, “I guess.”
Okay, remember, this was written early on in this pandemic, and we had no clue how it was going to end up being (not on a national basis for my home country, or internationally). At the hospital I was a student at, we had some shortages early on. I no longer remember exactly what it was we were running short on because it got straightened out pretty quickly, but it was some kind of antibiotic. And we didn’t know how the supply for all the meds were going to work if things went real caca, so my brain made up a scenario which might have turned out realistic, but it didn’t end up that way over here at least.  And nationwide there was a shortage of paracetamol and ibuprofen because people bought it like they were getting ready for the apocalypse, and they planned on having a constant headache. Kinda like T.P.

Note
Can you write a sad angst where a maknae member (preferably Kook) sends his gf y/n to jail because of a misunderstanding(maybe like a fake murder of his family member, friend, or ex and they frame y/n). Soon he finds out the truth but y/n died before he found out the truth. Maybe she died from depression or was already sick but no one knew and she died in jail. This devastates everyone who went against her and they regret it so much.

Jeon Jungkook
-
They say that love makes you do crazy things but Jungkook wouldn’t expect you to be the type of person to hurt anyone. You seemed so innocent, nice, and always forgiving but then again, you’ll never truly know someone and what they’re capable of.
Jungkook found himself wondering what went wrong on his drive over to your office, the countless days that you told him it would be okay and that he was going to catch the son of bitch that murdered his brother; it was you all along.
Jungkook tightened his grip on the steering wheel, he clenched his jaw and sped up a little still keeping within the speed limit. It took Jungkook awhile to come to terms with the fact that you actually killed his brother.
He went over the evidence again and again making sure that nothing was left unturned, but you still became the main suspect and out of all the suspects you were the unlucky winner.
He begged his coworker to let him arrest you, but the condition was he do it as soon as possible which was right now, Jungkook wiped the tear that fell from his eye as he parked outside your office and took a deep breath.
His heart was racing, he hasn’t been this nervous since he asked you to be his girlfriend but now, he was arresting you. Jungkook looked at his cellphone to see that he had to hurry so he opened his car door and nervously walked towards your building.
-
You missed your boyfriend, the sound of his voice, his warmth, his everything, it’s only been a few hours since you last saw him in the morning, but my god do you miss him like he’s been gone for weeks.
That’s the hold Jungkook has on you, he has the power to make you a lovesick puppy and according to him you have the same hold over him. You knew he’d be busy on the job but couldn’t resist a small little text, something simple, something to get you and him by until you see each other again when you both get home.
[Name] : I miss u, can’t wait to see u later and give u kisses. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) — 2:30pm
You smiled at the cringe worthy text you’d written up but decided to send it anyway, Jungkook always enjoyed your dirty comments and hidden dirty meanings about stuff you would say sometimes.
Jungkook usually replied instantly and the fact that he left you on read has you worried, even if he’s on the job Jungkook doesn’t hesitate to break the rules for you.
One minute turned into two and two into three and three into four and that four turned into ten minutes, you had never been so anxious before, you wondered if he was okay, was he hurt?
Was he just busy—, no, no matter what even if he was busy, he would have replied, he always does. You anxiously bit your nails, your mother always told you it was a disgusting habit you needed to stop but you couldn’t care less, biting your nails wasn’t something you could just stop, especially when you’re stressing like this.
You stared at your phone as you heard gasps run through your office, you switched from biting your fingernails to your lip as you continued to refresh your messages hoping to see a new message from Jungkook.
You didn’t bother to look up or tear your gaze from your screen as you heard mutters and gasps continue through your office, all you cared about, all that mattered right now was Jungkook.
You decided that another text would help your curiosity as to whether Jungkook was truly too busy to even look at your new text or whether he was just ignoring you for some reason you would find out about soon enough.
You flinched when a hand came to touch your shoulder, you finally looked up to see Jungkook, you smiled seeing him and initially you were confused but nonetheless happy.
His gaze was icy and held no smile he seemed so dull, you wondered why and also wondered why your coworkers were staring at the both of you and whispering, your heart racing in anticipation as Jungkook gestured for you to get out of your seat.
Jungkook was never rough with you and even if you hurt anyone, he could never bring himself to be forceful with you. “Kook, what’s going on.” You were surprised when Jungkook softly grabbed your hands and put them behind your back.
You tried turning to see him, but he held your wrists tightly before getting out his cuffs and placing them as gently as possible on your wrists. “Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law.”
You were for some reason trying to break the handcuffs by pulling your wrists away from each other in a fast motion, you’re not she-hulk you can’t break the metal handcuffs, but you continued to anyway.
“Kook, why are you reading me my Miranda rights, what the hell are you doing?” Jungkook didn’t tell you why but he just looked down and continued reading your Miranda rights.
“Kook, what the fuck?” You started to struggle and panic as he wasn’t unlocking the cuffs and you knew he wasn’t playing. “You are under arrest for the murder of Jeon Jung-hyun.”
Your eyes widened as your mouth gaped open, it was purely silent as he started to perp walk you. “His own brother,” you heard people calling you names and trash talking you as you let your head hang low.
Jungkook softly helped you get into his car, he couldn’t look at you, you were crying and just the sound of it made his heart clench in pain. “Kook, w-what’s happening?” He didn’t answer but started the car and closed his eyes for a second before pulling out of the parking space, this wasn’t going to be easy.
-
When the both of walked in you received dirty looks from other officers that you thought you knew well. “Jeon, I’ll put her in the cell you go take your break, you look like shit man.”
Another officer you knew as Hoshi had stopped by Jungkook and gave him a small nod to try and get him to go. Jungkook huffed, “Thanks Hoshi but I’m fine.”
Hoshi patted his back, “Come on man, I’ll do it, you don’t look so good. I’ll even cover for you so you can rest longer.”  Jungkook hesitated but nonetheless nodded, he had to admit he was so tired and hungry he could barely keep his eyes open and he didn’t even realize it.
Hoshi pushed Jungkook away and laughed when he almost lost balance, “Go rest Jeon or eat or find a way to do both.” Hoshi grabbed onto your arms and he unlocked the cell before unlocking your handcuffs.
You grabbed onto his arm just before he closed the cell door, “Hoshi please, you know me, you know I wouldn’t do this to Jungkook please.” Hoshi shook you off, he looked disgusted by just the touch of you.
“Listen [Name], all the evidence points to you, no one else is a bigger suspect, what am I supposed to do?” Hoshi pushed you further into the cell, “please Hoshi you know I’d never do anything like this.”
Hoshi held his hips and looked to the ground sighing before looking back up at you, “[Name] there’s nothing that I can do.” You held the cell bars tightly and tried to get closer, “Please Hoshi please don’t give up please continue to try and find something, anything. I love Jungkook, and I would never hurt him, you know that.”
Hoshi bit the inside of his cheek, it’s true he knows just how much you love Jungkook. He had gotten cold feet when he was going to get married and you were the one who found him, you were the one to tell him what love is like, and that’s how he know she was the one.
You told him how you felt with Jungkook, how you’d do anything for him, how he makes your heart race when he smiles and how you cry from just the thought of him leaving you.
“Okay, I’ll keep looking but it’s not a guarantee.”
You nodded vigorously, “I’ll take it, I am innocent I’m sure there will be something to prove it too.”
-
Everything went as expected, at your trial because of the evidence you were found guilty. Your lawyer did everything he could but whoever framed you was an extreme perfectionist from how well everything was planned out.
Your first day in jail you were scared and tried your best to keep to yourself, the others respected you enough to not mess with you, lucky for you no one knew you were betrothed to the man that put most of them in jail.
Everything was going smoothly until one of the guards stupidly let out that you were Jungkook’s girlfriend, “I still can’t believe Jeon’s own girlfriend got thrown in jail.” He said and sure enough you had eyes all over you as you stood in the middle of the lunchroom.
Another guard hit the one whom spoke too loudly, and he noticed the mistake he made, he didn’t realize how loud he said it.
You felt your heart beating fast, all the eyes on you, you gulped dryly the guards were looking at everyone in the silent lunchroom trying to ensure your safety.
It was silent so silent you could hear a pin drop, one woman who absolutely hated Jungkook made the first move. Unfortunately, she was the closest to you and unfortunately for you she had been planning to take someone out anyway, so she already had a shiv with her.
She swiftly charged at you and since your back was facing her when you turned it was too late, she plunged the shiv deeply into your stomach. The guards also charged for her, but they didn’t get to you in time, by then she had plunged the shiv into you three times ensuring your death.
You fell to the ground and the surrounding inmates kicked you, the two guards had tried to pull the other inmates away from you. When that didn’t work, they grabbed their batons and started to use force to get them away from you.
More guards were called but once they finally got all the inmates away from you, you weren’t breathing. The health care at the prison was shit so there was no use in trying to get you there, but they felt bad because you were Jungkook’s girlfriend and they knew you pretty well.
The guards still called an outside hospital and decided to let them officially call your death and also tell Jungkook because they weren’t going to be the ones to do it.
The guard who outed you decided he would ride in the ambulance with you, he felt absolutely horrible, even though you murdered Jungkook’s brother he knew how good of a person you were. You would try your best to bake or make food for the guards because you knew some of them would hardly eat.
In the ambulance you were barely conscious and had to wear an oxygen mask but at least there was still a chance. You were bleeding out too quickly and the paramedic tried everything he could, but you still died on the way to the hospital.
It was a given that would happen, the guards knew that you were going to die from how deep that woman stabbed you and how many times she did. There’s no way she didn’t hit a vital organ that caused you to bleed out so much and so quickly that it was unstoppable.
-
Jungkook slept for the day, in his dreams you were there, and everything was normal. Jungkook ones in his heart that he still loved you, he didn’t even visit you in jail it was too painful for him. He tried to rack his brain for answers as to why you would murder his brother; had he done something to you.
You weren’t just hurt anyone without a reason, right? Especially not murder, Jungkook preferred to stay in his dreams where you were and that’s why he wanted to kill whoever woke him up from his peaceful dream with you.
“Are you Jeon Jungkook, emergency contact of Park [Name].” It was a woman’s voice, probably a nurse and Jungkook’s heart dropped, why would you be in a hospital?
“Yes, who are you and why do you have her phone?”
The nurse sighed, “Please come to Bumin Busan hospital.”
-
Jungkook arrived to see a guard from the prison standing in front of the door waiting for him, “Where’s [Name]?!”
Jungkook pushed the guard up against the outside door, Jungkook was causing a disturbance but he didn’t care. “I’m sorry sir there was a problem at the prison-,” Jungkook cut him off by punching him in the face.
The guard fell to the floor with Jungkook on top of him, “What do you mean problem, it’s your job to prevent people from getting hurt!”
His only concern was getting to you, he never should’ve trusted the evidence, “Sir Jeon there’s something you should know.”
Jungkook’s phone interrupted the guard, Jungkook got off of the guard, “You are no longer any of my concern get out of here before I have you fired.”
The guard widened his eyes and nodded thinking it would best to have the doctor tell him about you. “Hello, Hoshi?”
“Jungkook you need to come to the station right away!” Jungkook winced a little from how loud Hoshi yelled from excitement into the phone.
“I’ll come by later, something’s come up.” Jungkook hung up on Hoshi before he could say anything else.
Jungkook didn’t care about anything else but seeing you right now and making sure that you were okay, he ran into the hospital and looked for reception.
His main concern was you, making sure that you were okay, he was going to have a lot of apologizing to do to you. “Excuse me, where’s Kim [Name]?” The receptionist looked up to see Jungkook’s worried expression, “Uh…what room is she in?”
The receptionist looked at him with pity, “Give me one second and I’ll call the doctor.” Jungkook blinked slowly and nodded before turning around, the receptionist called any available doctor to try and explain what was happening.
Jungkook was looking around the hospital and walked further away from reception, she took that chance to phone someone, anyone. Jungkook was far enough so that he wouldn’t hear her, but she didn’t take her chances and kept her voice low anyway.
“He’s right here, right now please get a doctor to tell him.” The receptionist couldn’t be the one to do it, she didn’t know how, what just plainly say that you died, he deserves better.
“Mr. Jeon a doctor will be coming shortly to fetch you and go into further details of [Name]’s condition.” Jungkook walked closer to the receptionist, “Listen I don’t understand what you can’t get through your tiny brain but all I need is her room number so I can see her.”
The receptionist understood how frustrated he was, so she bit her tongue, “I’m sorry Mr. Jeon but I think it’d be best for the doctor to explain-,” Jungkook slammed his hands on her desk making her flinch, “explain?! I don’t need an explanation I just want to see her.”
Jungkook flinched surprised when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder, “please don’t yell at her Mr. Jeon she’s just doing her job, come follow me.”
-
“Okay Dr. Lee, can’t I just see my girlfriend?” Dr. Lee had brought Jungkook somewhere private and definitely not where you were, the space was empty and looked like a used old medical practice room.
“Listen Jungkook I’ll be frank with you, [Name] didn’t make it and I’m really sorry but the fetus inside her didn’t make it either.”
Jungkook felt lightheaded from what he heard, “P-pregnant?”
He tightly held onto the edge of a table trying to grip the reality of this, “I’m sorry Mr. Jeon did you not know [Name] was two months pregnant?”
“You’re lying she would tell me; I did not put my two-month pregnant girlfriend in jail only to be killed.”
“I’m sorry Jungkook but it seems that way, we found an unborn fetus inside of her.” Jungkook shook his head furiously, “I’m sorry Dr. Lee I can’t deal with this right now I-I need to work-, I need to go.”
“Jungkook!” Dr. Lee called out for Jungkook again, but he just ran away, “ah Jungkook you don’t know what you’re doing.”

“Hoshi!” Jungkook looked through the room of the station to try and find Hoshi, he stopped in the middle of the room seeing everyone crowded around a board Hoshi pushed through to try and get to Jungkook.
“Isn’t it great Jungkook, we have evidence that [Name] didn’t kill Jung-hyun.” Jungkook fell to his knees with regret, disappointment, sadness, pretty much anything you can think of.
“No, no that can’t be true.” There’s no way he sent his pregnant girlfriend to jail, there’s no way he killed his pregnant girlfriend, the woman he thought he’d spend his life with.
He had gotten a ring just for her, “what’s wrong Jungkook this is a good thing, we can get her out.”
Everyone’s blood ran cold when Jungkook put his hands on the floor and lowered his head to the ground, “She’s dead.”
Jungkook was panting, he was so upset he couldn’t even cry instead he laughed, “she’s gone, my life is gone.” He laughed until he cried, and his fellow officers thought he was a madman.
“Jungkook I’m sorry-,” Jungkook jerked away when Hoshi tried to pat his back, “Don’t! She was pregnant Hoshi, I killed my pregnant girlfriend, the woman I was gonna marry, the woman I love I killed her and our unborn child.”
Hoshi gasped in awe, what could he say, why didn’t he find the evidence in time, you were pregnant? The entire station was silent and heard Jungkook’s confession, they were surprised that you were pregnant out of wedlock but that was forgotten when he mentioned that you had passed.
You were his bestfriend, you were there for him when he could’ve made the biggest mistake of his life and he just threw you in prison to let you rot, you didn’t deserve to die like that. “W-what,” Hoshi fell on his ass when it hit him too, why didn’t he find evidence sooner?
“S-she’s dead, [N-n-name]’s dead.” All of the officers looked down in desolation as Jungkook burst into tears like he was a lost child, and maybe that’s all he is right now a little lost child with no home, no comfort, no nothing, just his lonesome self and all he can do is cry.
Another officer tried to step up since Hoshi the only person who knew how Jungkook was feeling was in a lonely silent despair. “Jungkook we should plan a funeral for her and your baby.”
As soon as the other officers heard the younger say, “your baby,” they expected Jungkook to lunge at him and hit him for mention the poor soul, but he didn’t. Jungkook cried louder, “m-my baby, I killed my little baby.”
Hoshi just continued to stare blankly at the floor, “Jungkook, you didn’t kill them, someone else did because of you.” Another officer hit the younger and whispered, “you’re not helping.”
-
Everyone couldn’t tell whether Hoshi or Jungkook took your death worse, Hoshi was silent and so was Jungkook they were both inside a stage of pain and guilt. Neither of them left their houses, hell they didn’t leave their rooms.
A few of the officers decided to try and get them to get out of their rooms because not even Hoshi’s wife could get him out, he was just too dejected about not getting new evidence in time and everyone was worried about Jungkook because he didn’t have anyone (more like he wouldn’t let anyone in).
“Come on Jungkook [Name] wouldn’t want to see you like this.” Felix tried to pull the blanket off of Jungkook but Jungkook wouldn’t let go of it either, “Well she’s dead so she can’t see me like this, now get out.”
Felix sighed, “Jungkook please you couldn’t have known.” Felix kicked around beer bottles that surrounded his feet, “you can’t substitute beer for food Jungkook, we all messed up.” Jungkook sat up and harshly pushed Felix away and then started to hit his chest, “yeah but I should’ve known, I should’ve believed her, I should’ve visited her, but I didn’t.”
Felix tried to grab Jungkook’s wrist to stop him from hitting his chest, “please Jungkook stop this, there was too much evidence against her, you couldn’t have believed her.”
Jungkook shook off Felix, “Even if I couldn’t, even if the world was against her, it doesn’t matter I should have been there for her so leave me alone.”
With one hard push Felix fell to the floor, “I’ll leave you for now, I know you still need time to grieve.” When Felix left Jungkook pulled out his phone and looked at the last text he had gotten from you on that day.
He silently cried knowing that Felix was probably still in his house doing cleaning or something like that, if only he had done what he wanted to that day you wouldn’t be dead, he would have a beautiful child with you and he would be happy instead of cowardly hiding from the world to avoid seeing you everywhere.
-
Jungkook was freaking out just outside your building, how could he arrest you, did you really kill his brother, why would you do it, you wouldn’t, would you?
He heard and his phone ding and in came a text from you, he laughed and chose not to respond before turning away from your building and walking away.
Jungkook walked back to his car and opened the door, he sat in his car for a minute before deciding on quitting and running away with you.
Jungkook put his phone down, maybe it’d be best if he left with you first and then informed his officer that he was quitting. He’d have to go, and pack first and then get you and then leave, yeah that’s probably best.
Jungkook started his car, “Am I really letting my brother’s killer go free?” Jungkook shook his head, “No, no I have to throwing [Name] in jail isn’t going to bring my brother back.”
But on the other hand, she’s a murderer, I’m running away with a murderer.
But what if she really didn’t kill him, what if there’s something I’m missing?
But what if she really did kill him, my elder brother someone who I treasured and looked up to.
Jungkook continued to fight with himself trying to decide which choice was right and wrong, “I became a police officer to put bad people away and just because I love her doesn’t mean she gets to break the law.”
Jungkook tightened his fist around his steering wheel before slamming his fist onto his horn making a loud noise no one could hear since there was no one else in the parking lot. “Fuck, why is this so hard?”
Jungkook took a deep breath and turned off his car again, “Just because I love her doesn’t mean she gets to break the law.”
-
“I tried but he won’t come out,” Felix was talking with one of his seniors that asked him to try and get Jungkook out while he went to Hoshi. “It’s fine just clean up and make him food, make sure he eats, I’ll call you later to see how it goes with Hoshi.”
Felix nodded, “Hopefully he’ll finally talk, he hasn’t talked since he found out.”
Mingyu sighed, “Yeah I know,” he knocked on Hoshi’s door and hung up his phone.
Hoshi’s wife opened the door, “Oh thank god you’re here Mingyu he’s not even eating.” Mingyu scratched his head, “It’s that bad?”
She nodded, “I can’t get him to eat, he refuses to look at me, I don’t even hear him cry.” Mingyu nodded and stepped into their house, “Where is he right now?” She gestured for him to follow her and he did.
“Hoshi, Mingyu is here.” She softly knocked on the door with the back of her finger three times, she waited for any noise, any signal that he was okay with them coming in.
She didn’t hear anything though, “Hoshi?” Mingyu pushed her away softly and knocked on the door again, “Mingyu, we’re coming in.” They still didn’t hear anything but opened the door, Hoshi wasn’t in sight and their anxiety level began to rise.
“Hoshi?!”
She looked towards Mingyu, “I swear he was in here.” Mingyu put his hand up letting her know she didn’t have to say anything, “the bathroom.” Mingyu looked at Hoshi’s wife, she was walking towards the bathroom with shaky hands.
Mingyu beat her to the bathroom and tried to open the door, “It’s locked, do you have a key for it?”
She nodded and rushed out of the room, “Hoshi are you in there?!” Mingyu twisted the locked knob, he knew he couldn’t get it open, but he still tugged on it anyway.
“Mingyu I found the key, here.” She quickly threw the key to Mingyu, he caught the key and quickly opened the door, “Hoshi?!”
Mingyu ran into the bathroom to an indescribable scene, “Call an ambulance,” he managed to yell to Hoshi’s wife through his own shock and horror.
Mingyu tried (keep in mind tried) to pull Hoshi out of the bathtub filled with watery blood, “No, no stop let me die, I want to die.” Mingyu was appalled by this, how is he still alive?(Mingyu was thankful but shocked).
Hoshi resisted, “I want to die, leave me alone, go away.” Hoshi fought Mingyu but he was weak from blood loss, “I-I miss her.” A broken sob left Hoshi as his consciousness faded away, “I miss her too buddy.”

You owe me, Chapter 26
‘WATCH OUT FOR THE KANGAROO!’
April quickly swerved at Loki’s yelling, almost hitting an on-coming car in the process in order to miss hitting the kangaroo.
Loki briefly covered his eyes with his hand, while holding on tightly to the door handle.
‘Pull over and let me drive!’ He demanded.
‘Come on, Loks. I’ve got this. It’s just weird having kangaroo’s hopping onto the HOLY SHIT IS THAT A KOALA?’ She screeched, looking off to the side in a tree.
‘EYES ON THE ROAD, APRIL!’ Loki shouted and grabbed the steering wheel, directing it back as she almost crashed into a sign.
‘But a koala! They’re soooo cute!’
‘Pull over right now.’
‘Ugh, you’re such a grump.’ April grumbled, but she gave in and pulled into the side of the road so they could switch seats.
Loki felt much better now he was in control again. ‘Now you can look at all the pretty animals as much as you wish.’ He said condescendingly as he pulled back out onto the road.
April just muttered under her breath and folded her arms over her chest. But she did look at the animals while Loki drove.
‘Have you ever been here before?’ April asked.
‘I have not. I’m guessing by the way you’re admiring the animals, you haven’t either?’
‘Nope. Always been too far, never had a reason to come here until now.’ She sighed.
Loki nodded and concentrated on the road.
After half an hour of driving, April got bored and fidgety. She looked at Loki and a smirk spread across her face. Loki could see her out of the corner of his eye but decided to ignore her and keep his eyes on the road.
Though he soon found out exactly what she was up to, as she reached over and put her hand on his thigh, slowly sliding higher until she was cupping his cock through his jeans. Making him hiss when she squeezed him.
‘April. Don’t.’ He growled in warning.
‘Aw come on. I’m boooooored.’ She whined and proceeded to unbuckle his belt and pull his zipper down.
Loki tried swatting at her hands to get her away, but she was determined and managed to pull his semi-erect cock out. She stroked it a few times then leaned over and took him into her mouth.
‘Oh fuck.’ Loki moaned and slowed down a bit so he could at least try not to crash.
April took him down her throat and sucked him like he was her last meal. But when Loki swerved, barely missing a lorry coming in the other direction, he was quick to grab her hair and yank her off him.
‘Behave April. Not the time nor the place.’ He snarled and used his Seidr to cover himself again.
He bit down hard on his tongue while he tried to think about anything else but the feel of her luscious lips and her soft, wet tongue… Nope, he shook his head and tried to think about… Thor in a bikini.
He shuddered and felt his cock starting to soften, slowly. But it was working.
April folded her arms over her chest and sat back in a huff. But it didn’t last long, a few minutes later a new idea popped into her mind. She took a few seconds to wriggle out of her jeans, her knickers too. Then she spread her legs open and started touching herself.
‘Ohhh, yes.’ She moaned, head falling back as she fingered herself.
Though she wasn’t denying that it always felt much better when Loki was doing it. How she loved his long, devilish fingers and the way they could curl deep inside her, hitting all the right spots that she couldn’t reach.
She thought about his cock, the way it stretched and filled her so good...
Loki kept glancing over at her, his eyes glazing over when he saw her pleasuring herself. His jaw hung open and his cock hardened again. No matter how many suggestive pictures of Thor he tried to put into his mind, it was all washed away by April.
When her moaning started, it only made it even worse.
Tyres screeched as he pushed the pedal right down, hurrying along the road they soon came to a turn off down a dirt track. Once far enough away from the main road, Loki pulled into the side. April was still masturbating, eyes closed and thinking about Loki taking her in various positions.
‘Out. Now.’ Loki demanded, causing her eyes to fly open to see where they were.
She was confused, and in too much pleasure to stop so she kept going even as Loki got out of the car. He stormed around the car and hauled open the passenger door. He reached in and grabbed April’s arm, pulling her out of the car with such force she almost went flying.
‘Enough of your teasing, pet.’ He snapped and dragged her to the front of the car.
April was shoved down over the bonnet, Loki placed a firm hand to the back of her neck to keep her down.
‘Ow! Loki, it’s hot!’ She hissed as she could feel the heat against her hands and cheek. But it wasn’t hot enough to burn her.
‘Tough.’ He pinched the inside of her thighs and forced her to spread her legs, then he moved in between them and pulled out his cock. He was painfully hard, straining towards her wet warmth.
‘This is what you get for teasing me, girl.’ He growled deep and rammed into her, making her gasp and clench around him almost instantly as he forced his way into her.
It always took her a few seconds to adjust to him, with his impeccable size it was difficult.
Loki twisted his fist around her hair, tugging tightly as he moulded his front against her back. His hips ramming into her, forcing her further onto the bonnet until she no longer had her feet on the ground.
‘Godddd…. Lokiiiiii, pleeeeeease.’ She whimpered, the burning of her scalp hurting but it only added to her pleasure.
‘What do you want?’ Loki grunted in her ear, fucking her hard.
‘Make me fucking come!’ She yelled out in ecstasy.
‘Ask nicely. Only good girls get what they ask for.’ He purred and slowed right down, grinding himself into her in circles and keeping his cock as deep as he possibly could. Making her mewl underneath him.
April bit down on her lower lip. She knew he wasn’t going to give in until she asked, or begged, nicely.
‘Please!’ She whimpered.
‘Please, what?’ Loki grinned wickedly, halting his movements.
She growled in frustration and tried moving underneath him, but she couldn’t do anything from the weight of his body pinning her down.
‘I have all the time in the world, pet.’ He chuckled, nipping her earlobe.
After hesitating for a while, then realising she was going to remain trapped there between the hot car bonnet and Loki’s firm chest, she gave in.
‘Urghhhhh. Please make me come, Sir.’ She cried out.
As soon as she spoke, Loki started rutting into her again. He slid a hand underneath her, between her legs and started rubbing her clit.
‘Ohhh FUCK!’ She screamed as she was thrown into an orgasm, squeezing down hard on Loki’s cock. Making him orgasm too with a loud grunt.
‘Good girl.’ Loki purred and trailed his nose down her neck, making her shiver. ‘See, it’s not so difficult to behave once in a while. Is it?’ He smirked.
April just huffed in response while he got off her, letting her slide off the car. She turned around to face him and the smug look on his face.
‘You can be such an asshole sometimes!’ She folded her arms over her chest.
Loki grinned down at her and cupped her chin. ‘And you can be such a brat…’ He trailed off when he looked over April’s shoulder. There was a man in a hat and trench coat standing against a car, parked at the opposite side of the track. How Loki never heard or saw him pulling up, he had no idea.
The guy didn’t even seem phased when Loki disappeared from where he was with April and re-appeared right on front of the guy, a dagger at his throat.
‘Who are you?’ Loki hissed, pressing the blade into his skin.
He was as cool as a cucumber, only glanced past Loki to look at April. ‘Care to explain?’ He said to her.
April grabbed her knickers from the car and quickly put them on, then she crossed over to where the two guys were.
‘It’s ok, Loki. This is my friend, Nate. He’s the one who is keeping track of Alexander for me.’ She put her hand on Loki’s arm and he backed down, the knife disappeared in a shimmer of green.
Nate smiled and nodded at Loki. Then he looked at April and shook his head while tutting. ‘Always seem to find you in compromising positions.’
‘Yeah, well you should give warning when you’re going to drop in next time.’ April narrowed her eyes back at him but was smiling.
Loki growled low in his chest that April heard. Not happy with the conversation.
‘Anyway, to the point. Have you found him?’ April asked.
‘Yes. He’s currently just booked into a hotel, the Royal Ashburn. It’s about seventy miles from here. He’s booked in for a two week stay.’ Nate reached into his pocket and handed her a file.
April flicked through it and saw pictures of Alexander with some girls that clearly didn’t want to be there with him. There was the address and details about the hotel too.
‘Thanks, Nate.’ She nudged Loki. ‘Pay him.’ Then she wandered back to the car, still looking through the file.
Loki’s eyebrows shot up, he looked from April to Nate, then back to April again. He sighed and clenched his jaw as he pulled out his wallet and handed over a stash of notes to Nate.
‘Pleasure to meet you.’ Nate tipped his hat at Loki then got into his car and drove off rather silently.
Loki spun round on his feet and stormed over to April. She was back in the car, but he opened the door and glared in at her. ‘What the hell was that all about?’ He snarled.
‘What? That was Nate.’ April shrugged, not looking away from the file in her lap.
‘How did he know where to find us? How can you trust him?’
‘I’ve known him for years. He’s a great spy, one of the best. His best friend was taken by Alexander too, she unfortunately didn’t make it out and killed herself. He wants the bastard taken down just as much as I do.’ April said, looking up at Loki briefly.
Loki sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. ‘Right. Let’s go.’
He got back in the drivers’ side and they carried on with their journey.
April couldn’t deny, the closer they got to their destination the more nervous she became. This was her chance, her chance to finally take down Alexander.
She only hoped she wouldn’t fail.

March 30, 2015
Munich, Germany
The city was old, streets wrapping around buildings at harsh angles and in varying stone. But that was what you needed, age, wisdom, answers. At your sendoff, Crowley had given you a name, occupation, and a proverbial pat on the head. You didn’t know why you complied so easily; until you heard the first peal of laughter from a stranger on the sidewalk. Humanity. To be surrounded by life was worth the mission. Language and social niceties came back quickly, adjusting from vessel to vessel as you navigated the foreign byways.
It was easy to forget your time with Dean here; to imagine yourself something newly minted in this different world. The power you found during your initial escape in that lonesome field painted with bull’s blood, was nothing compared to the possibility of redemption. It taunted and teased you with that naïve hope only Crowley’s goading could coax from your battered mind. He hadn’t mentioned your previous time running his errands, nor the Winchesters, but he didn’t have to. He had your number, and once you started stacking the clues together; you had his.
The shop was warded to the nines, but that didn’t mean you couldn’t watch from the café across the street. You handed the server a fifty Euro banknote and asked to be left alone, freeing your table for the lunch hour and beyond. Hell, the teacher of eternal patience had left you with nothing to do but absorb and endure. So, you did what you knew; you waited. Eventually, the shopkeepers eased from the side door, their business hours long faded into the setting sun.
They each cast a hasty glamour once they spotted you. Too late; you had their scent now. Carefully you rounded the building the opposite way they had headed, the alleys were dark and narrow so much more inconvenient for the humans you tailed. Their hurried footfalls remained unmasked, up and over the next embankment. You didn’t flinch as they separated, trying to confuse you further. They only managed to spread their magic too thin and soon you had gained on the rasping breaths of the one that had decided to go north.
“I’m not after you, you know. I’m looking for someone else,” you said in blunt German.
“I know who you work for,” the rough voice answered in accented English.
“Then you know it is easier to give me the information than wait for the consequences.”
His middle-aged face appeared as he dropped his last barrier from your shining black eyes. He pushed off the brick wall and squared his stance, hands dangling and fingers working in distracting movements. You pulled the handgun from your waistband and met his bluff. No one expects a cowboy duel in the Fatherland, but nothing about your afterlife made sense.
“You want to draw a little more attention to yourself there? Bullets don’t scare me, demon,” he spat out the last word as if he was some holy man, some saint worthy of a judgement.
“Witch killing bullets might slow you down a tick though, yeah? Witch.” You said it how it felt best on your tongue. You spoke over your shoulder to the one who had rounded back, failing to trap you, “thanks for joining us. All I need is for one of you to talk and then we can all go home. Easy peasy.”
“What does it want?” The one still hidden from sight demanded from the one staring down the barrel of your gun.
“Information,” you answered evenly.
“On who?”
The man shook his head at his partner; the name in your head reaped more fear in the witch than Crowley. The silent conversation dragged between them and you decided incentive was necessary at this point. If Crowley’s reputation wasn’t enough, enforcement needed to make up for it. You pulled the hammer back and aimed.
“Alright, alright, what do you need to know?”
“Give me everything you have on Rowena MacLeod.”

Inside Man
If Dean was avoiding CC, then he was. If CC was avoiding him, he had no idea. It was almost too easy to be with her in the quiet library or even the cavernous garage, now. Maybe it was the non-human thing, but Dean didn’t really notice her anymore. A chameleon in any room, there, only when she wanted to make her presence known, otherwise she had become as peripheral as furniture. So, it was with the same regard as to a bookcase that Dean called Rudy, begging to be his back up on a case. Sam had his mime movie thing and Dean had his cabin fever. Bupkis it was.
He slipped into the driver’s seat and headed to nowhere in particular, the purples and greens of twilight kept at bay with Baby’s headlights. Dean needed something normal, something expected, something as easy as his hands on the wheel and his cassettes in the deck. This was where he belonged, where he was himself and how he could make sense of things. Now with what the Mark and the world had done to him, he needed it more than ever. Without Sam’s constant vigilance and CC’s over accommodating methods; Dean needed to feel like Dean again, even if it was just for the forty-mile drive to a douche filled sports’ bar.
He switched to the radio about twenty minutes down the road, letting a familiar snare walk and bass line fill the car. He started singing along, drumming his fingers on the downbeats. Dean let himself sink into the music, the carefree joy of belting out crescendo after crescendo. His voice cracked on a lyric and he stopped to swallow as it all hit him. He missed her. He fucking missed the demon. He finished the song, words hitting him harder on the other side. He ignored the tightness in his chest and the shake to his hands. Thinking it made it real and the reality of longing for something, someone like that made his stomach pitch. But it wasn’t disgust, it was grief.
Dean yanked his thoughts out of the depths and brought them back to surface survival as he pulled into the parking lot. The faux neon signs reflected on the Impala’s freshly waxed hood. The meager groups were congregated around the pool tables and Dean decided to try his luck.
A few beers and a pool hustle later; Dean realized he should have stayed in for the night. Rowena had set a pack of rabid frat boys on him and he had to reign in every ounce of his control to stop from gutting them all.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Dean had the tiny woman pinned to the bar after her spell failed to even give him a nosebleed.
“Saving my son!”
Dean’s confusion was dwarfed only by his surprise. “Your son?”
“Crowley,” she challenged him, adding another shock to the moment.
“Crowley Crowley?!”
“My son is a king! A god, or he would be if you didn’t—You snap your fingers and he comes running like a wee lapdog.”
Dean started to back away, missing whatever blame he held in this scenario. “Lady I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You’re a good influence on him. That’s why you need to die!”
“Well, sorry your little light show didn’t work,” Dean held her fast, he wasn’t going to underestimate her now.
“Oh, I’ll try again,” she whispered the promise that sent a chill down his spine.
“What, you think I’m just gonna let you walk outta here?” Dean matched her menacing smirk.
“I think, you’re a hero. You could have killed those men, but you didn’t. Because they’re innocent.” She winks at him then, taunting him even with the knife to her very pale throat. “Cuz, you’re the good guy and you want them to live. But the spell I cast will DEVOUR them from the inside out, just like it did that girl.” She knew exactly how to use her powers and wiles against him. “I’m the only that can save them. What’s it going to be, HERO?”
Dean recoiled, releasing Rowena as he stepped back to allow her the chance to reverse the damage she had caused. “Fix ‘em up and go.”
“So civil, aren’t you?”
“Lady, I think I’m being the, bigger person here? You did just try and kill me.”
“Well, bigger isn’t always stronger, is it? Brains are a muscle you might want to, strengthen?”
Dean rolled his eyes behind her back. Lithely, Rowena whispered into each of the dude bro’s ears, pulling hexbags from their pockets.
Another bar, another drink with another MacLeod
“Who’s the liar now?” Crowley looked at Dean a little too knowingly. Dean scoffed and took a drink. “She says I’ve gone soft.”
Dean chuckled, because damn if the red head isn’t right, “you have. What? Yeah, maybe it’s all the human blood that Sammy pumped into you, you know? Maybe it’s, uh, I don’t know. I don’t know. But the old Crowley, he would have come in here with hell hounds and demons and he would have blown the roof off the joint. Now? You didn’t want to fight. You wanted to talk. And maybe I’ve changed too. Here I am playing Dr. Phil to the King of Hell. Never saw that coming.”
“Maybe we’re getting old,” Crowley waxed mortally.
“Never saw that coming either,” Dean agreed.
Dean let go with Crowley, explaining the backbone of who he is and how he had made it this far. Family. Then he shoved the piss poor example of a mother Crowley was clinging to, back into the demon’s face. “Does that sound like your mother?”
Crowley knew better, but he was feeling generous. Dean had become his Achilles’ heel after all. “You know I may have seen it coming. Might have had someone digging up all her years of indiscretions since I’d last seen her.”
“Well, good, can’t be too careful,” Dean takes the last pull from his glass, smacking his lips together.
“She’s kind of a wildcard, but I think she’ll get the job done. Who knows, maybe it’s just me getting soft. But I do love an underdog,” Crowley’s eye sparkled back at Dean as the suspicion creeped through the man’s features.
           “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Dunno,” Crowley stood. “Just, uh, let me know if you want her number? Might be worth the dime.” With little segue, he vanished. Dean groaned and slid Crowley’s drink over, holding back the fruit and ice before taking the leftovers as payment for not offing the guy’s mom.

Book of the Damned
The Bunker after the Cabin
“Whoa,” CC muttered just as she felt Castiel arrive. She looked across the War Room table to Sam who just walked in from whatever he had stashed in his room. “We’ve got company.”
“Hello, Sam, CC.” Castiel joined them, filling in the details of their plan to get information out of Metatron on the Mark behind Dean’s back. Castiel explained in guilt-laden detail how his original grace had been restored. CC felt an ease in the Angel’s eyes that she hadn’t noticed before. Sam did his best to placate Cas, while CC started guessing how a being like Metatron on the loose was going to come back to bite them all in the ass. A stone started to worry in her gut over the words of a never forgotten dream.
“You did the right thing. That book needed to be destroyed,” Castiel’s reassurance brought CC back to the present. “We will find another way, Sam.”
The creaking of the entry door turned everyone’s head skyward.
“We’re back bitches!” Charlie’s spunky return continued to brighten the mood as the evening moved forward with genuine ease in the air. CC never saw Dean smile as much as he did when the red head was around. Something about her tenacity and unabashed nerdiness brought out the teddy bear in him, which CC liked to see, even from a distance. The hacker had become part of the family in a way she never had, despite living with them for this long. Thoughts of a lonely childhood and her looming solitary eternity caused CC to call an early night, leaving only a weary Sam to notice her exit.

Manhattan, KS
A summons.
Though the hope had betrayingly crossed your mind, more than once, you never thought he would actually do it. Now that you stood before Dean Winchester once more, you weren’t sure if it was to kill you properly or to fuck you senseless. His glare was that gloriously intense. You welcomed either outcome, if it was at his hand.
“You rang?” You smirked in greeting, hoping the vessel was moderately appealing. The timing of the spell didn’t really give you many options, she was a petite Latina in her early forties, though her genetics hid her age well. You weren’t in the Bunker, but what appeared to be the storage area of an old basement. Mildew and old masonry evident as you gathered any detail that held potential of his intentions. Secrecy abound; you were very much alone.
“Y/N?” Dean didn’t break eye contact, his voice cracking as your eyes misted at his acknowledgement. You only nodded, the emotion of seeing him again began to break through.
“I wasn’t sure you remembered,” a whispered confession.
Dean looked down, shame falling over his usually steadfast features, “Yeah, well I had to do some digging.”
“So, you still don’t know who I am?” Realization knocking you down a peg once more. Geez, drag a girl across the world and you still can’t put the pieces together, some great love he was. And yet he was, damnit.
“I don’t think I know anyone the way I know you.” Dean chided himself, biting at his lip and tsking his tongue. He stepped closer, eyes searching yours. You unconsciously mirrored his movements, taking you to the rim of the red spray paint on the cellar floor.
“I suppose that is the best I could ask for.” Your arms longed to be around him, to feel the weight of him against you, to feel his heart beat. You didn’t know what he wanted from you, but you knew it was your last chance at honesty. You answered his call and raised him with your shared history.
A heavy breath escaped your chest and you let your eyes go black. “I first met you, centuries ago. Before I was a Demon and before you were the infamous Dean Winchester. When you were just some kid who sold his soul for his much more promising brother. Before you knew of your destinies and long before you gave Heaven and Hell the finger.”
Dean’s shoulders straightened, one hand in his pocket as his head cocked with mild amusement.
“I remember the first day Alastair strapped you to his table, the way you screamed and challenged him. I still heard it some nights back home: your voice in agony and me powerless to stop him just outside the door to his favorite torture room.” You began to pace inside the trap, working through the memories both cherished and painful.
“How long did he leave you there?” Dean asked, arms crossed over his chest now, brow furrowed.
“I was left outside your sessions until the day you took the deal,” you stepped forward as he shook his head in disbelief. “I heard him, every day, ask you and I heard you every day, even after hours of anguish, refuse. I begged him for the same opportunity, but I wasn’t special. I wasn’t you. And then I finally saw you face-to-face.”
“The First Seal.” Dean closed his eyes as it all came crashing back and into focus.
“I never blamed you,” your voice fell, hand raised trying to comfort him. He stood just beyond the barrier of his own devising. “Of course, I would have done the same, had I been given the chance. But it wasn’t until your Castiel rescued you, did I feel Alastair’s final torment.”
“Just stop, okay?!” Dean pleaded suddenly; he thumbed the Mark of Cain which seemed to be throbbing over all of the blood he had shed in Hell. The hunger that threatened his humanity once more. You flinched at his words, your stories had brought you back to that vulnerable human soul who had witnessed her schoolgirl crush and torturer ripped from her plane of existence. “You’ve only ever seen the worst of me. Why didn’t you just kill me?”
He kept his eyes down, but you saw how perplexed he felt; you were not a predictable demon and bless him for trying to understand. Your face softened, the endearment you felt catching him off guard. “I was just getting to that part, dumbass. Love. Alastair’s final torment for me was an unwavering and unrequited love, for you.”
“We had very different experiences with Alastair.” Dean’s face broke into a smile, the slight blush on his features. He was such a dork, it hurt to watch him like this.
“Yeah, well, according to Crowley, it wasn’t Alastair at all. He wasn’t ‘that sophisticated with the emotional aspects of the job’.” You shrugged.
“He has a point,” Dean relaxed, walking a bit as you continued to speak.
“Where’s Chloe?” You asked nervously, “And Sam?”
“Chloe? She’s still kicking ‘round the Bunker, but, well, too much water under the bridge.”
“That’s our girl.” You knew she would move beyond this ordeal better than most, yet somehow you still worried for her wellbeing, even after she extradited you. Fucking symbiotic relationships.
“And Sam’s fine. Ornery and trying too hard to make me listen to reason–”
“A lost cause if there ever was one.” You teased, Dean smirked, toeing the line that separated you.
“I’m done fighting the Mark, Y/N.” Dean let out a heavy sigh. “I’m not strong enough, either I go hermit-style like Cain for as long as I can, and people die. Or I just give in.”
“That seems a very narrow list of solutions to a very new problem.”
Dean’s whole torso twitched at your candor, “Well, the Book of the Damned was our last lead and that’s toast. Anything you’d like to share with the class?”
You stepped closer; tips of your pointed shoes frozen against the magical wall of the Devil’s Trap. “I’m what you would call an ‘entry-level demon’. I got out on sheer dumb luck the first time, Dean. They don’t share the great mysteries with the cesspool. Honestly, I think Crowley has been honest with you about the Mark since you became his trusty Knight in Shining Plaid.”
“Yeah, well, worth a shot.” Dean tried and fell just below gracious. He was truly desperate. It carved at you to see him so defeated.
“Is that the only thing you wanted from me?” The pain you couldn’t hide from your words, returned to you in his aching glance.
“It’s not like that.” Dean swallowed. “You know it’s—”
“It’s better left unsaid.” You nodded, trying for the stiff upper lip, sniffling against his stubbornness. “But tell me something else?”
Dean head shot up, waiting for your next question.
“If you’re done, if you’re giving in to the Mark. Why the trap? Afraid I’d get out or just afraid I’d touch you? And you’d really turn? If there’s really nothing to lose, why don’t you—”
Then he was kissing you, Dean Winchester had stepped inside your cage and welcomed your darkness as if it was his only salvation. Though you couldn’t save him; you needed to show him everything words were unable to convey. How you wished he could see how perfect in his imperfection he was, how his self-sacrifice never ceased to take your breath away, how with just the sound of his voice you could withstand a hundred years in the Pit. How much he was loved and needed and how he deserved so much more than a worthless hell-spawned wretch could offer him.
The height difference sent you spinning, he was everywhere, broad shoulders and strong hands, clutching at your now smaller body. The danger Dean accepted by stepping into the circle gave you a rush, your core tightening as he deepened the kiss. Suddenly, you were weightless, he lifted you up, your legs quickly opening to lock around his waist and before you knew it you had tugged open half the buttons of his shirt. When you pulled the tee shirt up from where your thighs had pinned it to his sides, Dean broke the kiss, with heavy breaths he rested his forehead against yours. It had been years since you had tasted him and never with this tongue, but somehow, he still knew how to kiss you.
*^*
Dean could have stayed in that moment forever; the oasis of Y/N’s arms was something he hadn’t known he had missed until he found his way back home. Her hands were now delicate and soft, her legs shorter and waist impossibly narrow, but she still moved the same, with Y/N it felt right. His cock twitched against both his jeans and her impossibly sheer leggings. She rolled her hips against the movement, causing him to groan before leaving a fierce trail of nibbles down her jaw, her skin spiced and smooth beneath his chapped lips.
*^*
The heat growing in your belly intensified as Dean’s mouth wandered lower, his teeth tearing at the lowcut top, you pulled down the shirt and lace covered bra, freeing your aching nipples for his hungered mouth. Balancing one hand tightly on your back, Dean’s free hand kneaded your left breast before teasing the puckered flesh with the warmth of his tongue. You clamped down against the emptiness inside, overwhelmed with each affection Dean gave you.
You grinded harder against him, whimpering, letting your hands snake through his hair, your fake nails digging in as he switched to the opposite tit, pulling that nipple between his straight teeth. He watched you grow needier beneath his every touch, the desire in his eyes making you more desperate. You pulled yourself up, flush against him as you worked off his shirt. The anti-possession tattoo utterly elementary compared to the ancient curse on his arm.
You took over, your kiss demanding his submission as he backed you against the invisible concave wall. The barrier, though intangible was strong, and you used it to rest against as you slid down Dean’s body to remove the clothing restricting you from taking him fully. You wiggled the trim hips from the thin material, tossing the drenched lace to the side among the bunched pant legs. Dean had kicked off his boots, thumbing his shorts and jeans off with a swift dip. He was simply gorgeous, solid and bowlegged, but stunning all the same. Lust battled the emotional appreciation of his nudity and all too soon you were sinking to your knees. Tiny fingers raked up his calves and over his sturdy quads, heavy lashes fluttering over your cheeks as you waited for his impatience to get the best of him. Your face so close you could smell the tang of his heavy balls, eyes lingering on the drop of want leaking from his menacing tip.
Every inch of him seemed larger than before, perspective was in the eye of the beholder and for this vessel Dean’s cock was downright intimidating. The trim legs held you up, the abundant chest brushed against his leg as you silently dared him to make the next move. His hand came down hard on the crown of your head, thick fingers lacing in the dense black locks, he slid through until yanking at the nape of your neck. As he snapped your head up your mouth opened automatically from the jarring tug. In his other hand Dean fisted himself, “You don’t get to tease me, or I’ll send you back. You understand?”
You nodded, tears forming from the intensity of his grip on the base of your neck.
“Sorry?” Dean tilted his head, dramatically inviting you to speak up.
“Yes. Yes, Dean, I understand.”
He sucked air through his teeth, green eyes darkening as he released his hold on your hair, his rough thumb dragged down your jaw to circle lazily around your pouting lips. Instinctively, you licked them before he paused. “No teeth, Y/N. I know that was you and I mean it.”
“Whatever, you liked it,” you hissed before taking him into your smart mouth. Dean’s hand fell away from the base of his shaft as you worked him deeper and deeper with each test of this mouth. The lips were fuller, plush against the veiny length of him. He repeatedly tucked your hair back, keeping your face on full display as you sucked and mewled over him. As your tongue lapped from underneath, your core clenched, once again, over nothing. The gagging girth of him quickly made you lightheaded.
“You want it so bad you’re gonna choke on it, aren’t cha?” Dean crooned down at you as you looked back up at him, his fat bottom lip clenched between his perfectly white teeth. You slid back to lock eyes with him completely, delicate fingers massaged his balls as he called out into the night. “That’s it, that’s my dirty little demon slut. Hmmm,” Dean huffed and suddenly the Mark took over. His massive hands planted themselves on either side of your fragile skull and suddenly he was thrusting back into you. His dick deepened to puncturing your throat, your stomach rolled, saliva building as he growled with the fierce snap of his hips.
The pressure on your temples increased alongside his speed, delicious and terrifying. Then you began to cough, Dean finally slowed, which allowed you to swallow against the thick mucus that had gathered in your esophagus, tender and stretched wide. You dragged her nails back down his legs before letting him go with an audible pop. Then Dean did the hottest thing you had ever seen, he crouched with those damned bowlegs, lowering his pulsing cock to the generous cleavage in front of you. In a frantic whimper, you tugged your breasts apart for him, tips of your fingers teasing the dark areolas before holding the fleshy globes tight against his spit-slicked cock. Once again, his strong digits weaved into your hair as he fucked your tits. His every muscle worked to dominate you, the Mark of Cain ragged against his pale forearm, his abdomen tense behind the soft layer his other vices supplied, all overloading your senses with his power, his lust for you and just how far you would push each other.
You teased the ruddy head of his cock with the tip of your tongue, his salty juices seeping out to aid in the rough friction. Your nipples ached as your pussy sopped with emptiness.
“On you back, Y/N. I need to eat some of that before I am done with you.” Dean growled, tugging as his cock as he tried to step back from the brink. “Fucking smell you from here, you know that?”
You didn’t reply, just slowly sat back on your bare ass, the cold floor sent shockwaves through your overheated thighs and straight to your folds. Your nipples puckered impossibly smaller. Dean spread out his large shirt behind you, before leaving a tantalizing kiss on your shoulder. Then his lips took over, he sucked and nibbled and decimated the teak colored skin. When his hot breath hovered over your nipples you thought you were going to cum on the spot. Each sensation barreled into the next, your legs were shaking by the time Dean spread your knees wide.
“Now this view, Y/N? I have got to hand it to you, hmmmm, nice choice,” Dean’s eyes glinted as his thick tongue found your swollen bud. It gave a dizzying jostle before licking broad strokes up and down your lips. Spreading you wide, Dean gathered your juices with his skilled fingers. You half laughed and half moaned when, at long last, your trembling cunt earned its fill. Dean’s fingers worked into you as he sucked gently on your bursting clit.
“Is it sweet enough,” you teased back, watching him lavish you, drunk on your sex. His scruff shown with your arousal, his whiskers adding roughness along your tender apex, further blurring the lines of pain and pleasure.
“You know what’s the most messed up part?” Dean whispered, sliding back to watch his fingers disappear inside you. “I don’t know this chick and I don’t care. I am just fucking you. Not Chloe, not anyone else. Right now, it’s only us. And I should care and I’m sure I am going to hate myself tomorrow. But that feeling of not caring?”
“I’d call it freedom. Best kind of bittersweet.” You sighed, reaching up to stroke his temple. His closed his eyes and you finally saw how bone-tired he was.
“I hate being this scared, Y/N. It’s not who I am.” His fingers never stopped; his mouth ghosted over every sensitive crease as if the act alone was penance for his confession.
“Dean?” Your voice hitched.
“Yeah?” Dean placed tiny pecks along the inside of your thigh, his voice impressively soft.
“I really need to cum. You make me feel so good, but I can’t—” you broke off into a gasp as he added a third finger inside you, his tongue pressed wide and forceful against you. You didn’t know if it was his admission or the added effort once you begged for it, but less than two minutes later and your climax overcame you. Waves of heat flooded your system as everything contracted. Then the break and you fell: unwinding with the stuttering pulses. Dean pulled you through it, his fingers’ pace slowed in calculated increments. Just as he slipped from your clutches, he made sure to nuzzle your mound before easing up to his knees.
With a tempered swat at your knee, you caught his drift, rolling completely over you rocked back to give him another angle to admire. You arched your back and shimmied your shoulders to stretch out the tension that had settled as you braced for your orgasm. You couldn’t see him, but you knew Dean was centering himself behind you, his damp fingers coating his length as it returned to its full glory. You squared yourself, knees below hips and shoulders over splayed palms, ready for whatever he would give you.
Dean nudged your knees farther apart, causing your upper half to lower onto your elbows, the cold stone floor stiff beneath your thin joints. Ass bared and ready. “I want you to tell me, who I am.”
“Deeeeeeeeannnnnnn.” You keened as he stretched you open, even his fingers couldn’t prepare you for the heavy steel of his cock.
“And?” he slowly rolled his hips, barely hitting that secret spot, as if by accident. He was fucking vindictive.
“Dean fucking Winchester.”
“That’s more like it, Y/N.” Dean built up his rhythm.
“Hunter.” You mewed.
“What else?”
“Mark Bearer?”
“And?” His teeth were clenched now, the words strained and menacing.
“Knight of Hell!” You screamed as he smacked your ass, pounding into you with constant shallow thrusts.
“Who am I?”
“The Righteous Man!”
Dean growled at the old title, the darkness of the Mark at war with his true nature: protector of the innocent. As his other hand connected with the opposite cheek you tensed, unsure of what else he wanted to hear.
“Michael’s Sword!” your voice was high and whiny as everything that was holding you upright began to weaken. He took both of your hips in his palms now, dragging out of you slowly before popping his pelvis back in, forcing you to press back into him or crash to the floor. He hummed in appreciation as he spread you wider from behind, his thumb pressed against your puckered hole, adding to the building pressure throughout your core.
“That’s mine, just like this pussy is mine. You hear that, Y/N? You’re mine.”
“Always have been,” you replied plainly without even registering what it all meant. “My Seal Breaker.”
Dean liked that one, because he raised one knee up and began to work you over again. You tossed your head back to watch him over your shoulder, bending nearly in half. He was breath-taking, his mouth open and panting, skin dewy and tense, uncountable scars and freckles randomly yet perfectly placed to outline this impossible man.
“Come on, baby, let me see you,” Dean coaxed, your eyes burst open, the inkwell pools staring back at him as he thrust harder into your luscious depths. “Hmmm, Y/N, you know how good you feel? So. Fucking. Sweet.”
“Better than her?” You half-whispered, half-begged.
“Every ti–.” Dean broke off on a moan, your body pulling him as deep as it could, and suddenly you crested again, muscles spasming as a howl escaped your mouth. Dean gave you only two beats before slamming back into you with wild abandon, reveling in the tightness and the added slick. The slap of his balls against your clit and his strong hips against your firm ass an erotic symphony.
“Fuck! I’m gonna cum so hard in that borrowed pussy, you want that?”
“God, yes, Dean. Fill this tiny little thing up,” You whined, tugging at your nipple as Dean began to add an extra roll of his hips between his thrusts. Damn, he knew just how to move, your channel quaked against him, another orgasm looming just out of reach. Dean slid one hand from your waist to palm the small bubble of one ass cheek, fingertips digging so deeply they’d leave marks in the morning. He brushed your g-spot over and over again, everything was vibrating, but it grew too loud. As soon as you felt the next wave approaching Dean froze, spilling inside your wanton cunt. Hot, thick and delicious Dean’s cum slipped from your lower lips as he eased his spent cock from your shaking walls.
He wouldn’t stop touching you, his hand on your hip as you slid down to curl on your side. He let his breathing regulate as he perched back on his heels, his well-built body on full display, the base of his multicolored pleasure trail glistened with both of your juices. His mouth a perfect pink “O” as he blew out a chilling stream against your lolling breasts. You groaned and rolled back up to all fours, biting his delicious thigh as you snaked up his body to steal another kiss. His arms encased you, pulling you in a painfully tight squeeze, the Mark of Cain, hotter than the rest of him, pressed against the lower curve of your ribcage.
He nestled his nose against yours with a satisfied hum, “Now, THAT, was not something I never thought I would do.” Gesturing to the sigils beneath your bodies.
You laughed, “Come on, not even when you were the demon?”
“Okay, maybe once, but Sam was in the room, no way he was getting a free show.” Dean winked down at you, which you eye-rolled away, letting the black slip away for effect. This was it: you felt the inevitable end approaching like a derailed train. You couldn’t look away or sidestep the onslaught, you just had to let it happen. If Dean would let go of the brakes, it would all be over soon.
“Do you know what you’re going to do?” You asked softly, letting your hand rest just below his tattoo, head against his collar bone.
He shook his head, “Not a clue, but I had to see you again, in whatever way I could.”
“Well, you could have come to me,” you teased, “I’m pretty sure Knights get all access passes.”
“I’d much rather come in or on you, sweetheart.” He grinned, what an ass. You shoved him away playfully, setting these carefree moments to memory. Even if you were both shit at coping, but professional at bullshit, at slapping on a mask for everyone else’s benefit. Well, Dean the later at least. You didn’t care much for anyone other than yourself, him and CC, if you were being honest. Which you weren’t.
“I don’t think I could handle if you went back, you deserve better than Crowley’s crap-dom.”
“Well, it’s a good thing I can’t die then.” He kissed you gently. “And won’t be going on another karaoke tour anytime soon.” There were so many things you wanted to say and none of them sounded like what he needed to hear. So, you sat there in silence, naked and blissed out upon the grimy floor of a forgotten warehouse in Dean’s arms.
***
He had fallen asleep, with his flannel as a pillow and his jeans thrown back on, unzipped and rumpled, he snored lazily at your side. It was some surrealist painting unraveled, he was raw and clammy with every spare patch of skin reaching across fictitious distance between you. He grumbled senselessly as you watched him, the vessel’s pleas growing with each passing minute. You kept your exploits from her, but she still knew she wasn’t safe there. The wrongness of losing perspective fostered the alarm churning inside your shared head. You savored every second you spent watching Dean dream, which was all the more precious because it was brief. Fleeting as a heartbeat, gone as quick as a wink. Nothing gold can stay.
Once the awe of it all wore down into undeserved contentment, she pushed harder and your willingness to ignore her thinned. You had work to do, a King to please and a vessel to free. You may have been a demon, but you weren’t cruel. CC had taught you how to be honest, even when it cost you everything. You wouldn’t look him in the eye and offer a true goodbye. You didn’t want to hurt him, and you couldn’t bear it if he wasn’t as pained as you.
Which is why you left like a thief in the night. The trap meticulously scratched through with the switchblade Dean always kept on him. Hastily, you left a note, prying a strip of vellum from the spell book he had used. Sam would have a bitchfit about it later, that you were certain. You couldn’t just disappear after experiencing an ecstasy of his choosing. Dean deserved more than you could offer, but you muddled through. With an air of melancholy that would make a Victorian widow proud, you staggered away on feet too swollen to be shoved back into her tiny boots.
*^*^*
When Dean woke up, everything hurt: his pride especially.
He hadn’t planned beyond summoning and facing her, but once he was inside her vessel with her; Dean had found what had been missing all those months. Dean saw his mirrored half: damned and deceitful, surely, but beautiful and blossoming all the same. He started to laugh when he fully came to, a deep belly laugh that brought tears to his eyes. Here he was, left half naked in a devil’s trap and somehow felt like he was the one doing the walk of shame. Either way, they both were. Figured.
He started gathering his spell materials as his phone went off.
           “Dude, where are you?!”
“I had an errand, Sam. I’ll be home before noon.” Dean plucked a folded piece of paper from the middle of the old grimoire he had stolen from the Bunker’s collection.
           “Everything alright?”
“I haven’t killed anybody, if that’s what you mean.” Dean read the note carefully before tucking it into his breast pocket, phone pinched between his shoulder and ear.
“That’s not what I— You know what, forget it. I’ll see you when you get back.”
“Not if I see you first,” Dean replied ad nauseum.
Sam barked a forced laugh. “Nice.”
“Yeah, well, you too.” The brothers both hung up, allowing Dean to finish clearing the basement of everything but the mangled sigils ringed in red. Before Dean started the Impala’s engine, he pulled out the thin scrap and reread the words she had left him.
           Dean-
I’m sorry to do this like this, but this one needs to get back to her life. I’m still on a job in Europe for the time being, but thanks for the one-night vacation. You were, as always, incredible. I hope you know you can call me; whichever way works best, anytime. Just, don’t do anything stupid. O.k.?
           Always yours,
                       Me

After Angel Heart
If Castiel had known Chloe Collins her entire life, perhaps he wouldn’t have been surprised by her request. Maybe, if he had known her without a demon’s influencing their entire history; she would have built up to this massive deceit with more finesse. Though angels were known best for being direct, unless one considered Lucifer and Gabriel, of course. Every way he regretted their tumultuous past; it still didn’t make answering her any easier.
“No.” Castiel glared at CC like she had suggested he trade the trench coat for Bermuda shorts.
“Castiel, please? This is really important and now that you’re fully you, you can show me how.” CC hated asking for favors, especially of the Angel, but this had gone too far.
“I don’t understand why you think I would do such a thing.”
“Because it is for their safety, Castiel. Sam and Dean are in danger with this hanging over us. We ALL are in danger from the truth getting out.” CC moved further from the backdoor of the Impala, drawing Cas out of earshot.
“Why?”
“Because, ‘Heaven’s eyes will never be far from you now and the minions of Hell will seek you out as a fortress against the light.’” She huffed in exasperation, eyes locking onto his impossible blues as the warning resonated between them.
“Whose words are those?”
“Mine, or my granddad’s, I don’t know. I had to make a choice to comeback from being comatose, Cas. I chose to live with the knowledge of my birth, of what and who I am. So now; I am a target. Dean doesn’t need another cross to bear, his plate is full. And Sam? Sam’s already walking on thin ice.” She stopped before she could expose every dirty secret she had learned from her months of hiding.
“Why are you only telling me this now?”
“Claire. You did the right thing, even if it hurt like a sonofabitch.” CC gave him an impressed eyebrow as he took what she said as the compliment she intended.
“You trust me?” Cas looked at his hands then back to CC, who’s own were tucked into her back pockets.
“Us Heaven rejects need to stick together, right?” Her smile pulled one out of him.
“If I agree to this, when would we even be able to do it?”
“As soon as possible. I need to get back at it, especially with the Steins still out there.”
“And you’re sure this is the only way to ensure Sam and Dean’s safety?”
“Fuck no. This is the only way to ensure Sam and Dean’s blood isn’t on my hands. Those assholes don’t do safe, you know that.”
Castiel nodded into a shrug, still playing at considering her offer.
She stepped forward, dropping a heavy hand onto his shoulder. “I wouldn’t ask you if I didn’t care about them, Cas.”
He noted her repeated use of his nickname from Dean and the physical contact that they had never shared before. “Alright, I’ll do it. I’ll erase the knowledge of your lineage from Sam and Dean’s memories.”
“And Charlie’s,” CC added.
“And Charlie’s, of course.”
“I can’t thank you enough.” CC reached her opposite hand out and shook Castiel’s hand, solidifying their agreement. Cas took her hand and her anxiety in his, sensing she needed the peace of mind as much as she needed the escape.

You owe me, Chapter 26
TITLE: You owe me CHAPTER NO./ONE SHOT: Chapter 26 AUTHOR: fanficshiddles ORIGINAL IMAGINE: Imagine after the battle in New York, Odin sent Loki back to Earth without his powers as punishment. SHIELD are after him and he meets a woman who isn’t all she seems at first and she has her own agenda. The two end up teaming up, to help one another. But it’s not quite as plain sailing as they’d hoped. RATING: M
She thought about his cock, the way it stretched and filled her so good…
Loki kept glancing over at her, his eyes glazing over when he saw her pleasuring herself.

Sparks Fly ch.7
Kiara's head pounded as she woke up. She cursed as she slowly sat up and looked around. She recognized the Normandy med bay and noticed Tali sitting nearby.
"If you're my nurse then I must have done something right. Now where's my sponge bath?" Kiara snickered. Ever since Tali joined her and Kiara had become fast friends talking over mechanics. Tali had gotten used to her play flirting real quick after the first few pickup lines.
"I think you should ask your boyfriend for that instead of me." Tali replied without looking up from her holopad.
"Boyfriend? Since when did I get one of those?" Kiara's stomach growled when she smelled the plate of food on the table next to her bed. She happily began to eat while Tali moved her seat closer to Kiara.
"So you and Decimus aren't together? You could have fooled me. He barely left your side while you were out."
Kiara paused mid bite. He stayed with her while she was unconscious? If it wasn't for the fact she needed to eat to regain her energy, she would probably have lost her appetite.
"Where is he now?
"I think he's talking to Joker on the main deck."
Once Kiara finished her meal she made her way up to the main deck. She nodded at Shepard who was looking over the galaxy map. She could hear Decimus and Joker cracking jokes as she walked up to him.
"Hey Joker can I steal Decimus from you for a bit?" Kiara asked, making Decimus jump in surprise.
"Well look who's up. Yeah sure, I need to think of some more jokes anyway."
Kiara grabbed Decimus's arm and dragged him away. She led him into the meeting room and turned on him as soon as the doors closed.
"Are you falling for me?" Kiara asked, making Decimus make a surprised trill from his subvocals.
"Where did this come from?!"
"Just answer the question."
Decimus's mandibles were pressed against his face as he looked away.
"I might have started feeling something more for you."
Kiara sighed, she hoped that this wouldn't happen.
"Listen, I'll tell you now that I'm not dating material."
"Why would you say that?" Decimus reached out to take her hand but she stepped back and out of his reach.
"There's a reason why I just have friends with benefits and not a relationship."
"Why?"
"Talk to Jane. I can't talk about it." Kiara quickly walked out leaving Decimus to watch her leave. He walked out of the meeting room and went to Shepard.
"Commander, could I speak to you for a moment alone?"
Shepard looked up from the galaxy map and at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Is everything alright?"
"Um, it's about Kiara."
A look of recognition passed over Shepard's face.
"Joker, set course for Noveria. I'll be in my cabin."
"You got it commander."
She gestured for Decimus to follow her as she headed down to her cabin. She didn't speak until they were in her cabin.
"Alright, what do you need to know?"
"Why doesn't she want anyone dating her."
Shepard sighed, a hand moving to rub her temple. "It's not that she doesn't want to date, she doesn't trust anyone that wants to be with her."
"How come?"
"Do you know about what happened to the human colony Mindoir?"
Decimus nodded, not liking where this was going.
"Kiara and I were the only survivors of the raid. I found a place to hide but Kiara was taken. She was one of the people tortured in front of Alliance Marines who were pinned down and unable to reach us to help. When she was finally saved she wouldn't go anywhere without me for months and frequently had night terrors. She still suffers from them and has dealt with multiple partners break it off when they couldn't handle her during an episode."
While Shepard couldn't hear it Decimus was growling softly with his subvocals. If he ever found out the identity of any of her previous partners he'd probably call them a coward for leaving her at her weakest point.
"Is there anything I can do to show her I wouldn't do that?"
Shepard smiled slightly. "Take it slow and just keep being you. If she lashes out just take it. She talks big and says things she doesn't mean when overwhelmed or upset but it's never true. If you hear her having a night terror try to comfort her or get me."
Decimus nodded, turning to leave when Shepard stopped him.
"Also if you ever hurt her I'll break your legs and all that protective friend stuff." She said with a laugh. Decimus laughed lightly but something told him she wouldn't hesitate to feed him his mandibles if he ever hurt Kiara.
--------------------------------------
Kiara cursed as she dodged another blast from one of the asari commandos. Her head was starting to kill her the longer they fought. Behind her Shepard, Kaiden and Liara fought to take down Benezia.
"Not to sound like a bitch or anything but I could use a hand here!"
She smirked when she heard a roar from Wrex and rolled out of the way to let him charge down two of the commandos. When the third commando dropped she knew Tali had taken care of her.
"And Jane said two teams would be overkill. Remind me to tell her I was right." Kiara and her team rejoined Shepard right after Benezia died. Both groups were amazed to see the living rachni queen. Kiara ignored the group arguing about if the queen should live or die and walked over to Shepard.
"What are you thinking Janey?" She could see Shepard was contemplating as she stared at the rachni queen.
"I don't think she deserves to die. From the sound of it, something made the rachni act differently."
"It's your call, whatever you decide you know I'll support you."
Shepard nodded, hand hovering over the release switch before hitting it. On the way back to the Normandy, Wrex continued to voice his displeasure at Shepard's choice.
"I still think that was a stupid decision." Wrex grumbled from the back of the group.
"And I think you guys have two balls too many but you don't hear me complaining." Kiara replied, flipping him off when he started to grumble again.
"You humans have the strangest insults, am I supposed to be intimidated by that?" Wrex snorted as Kiara looked back to glare at him.
"More like an invitation to suck my nonexistent dick or shut the hell up."
Wrex let out a booming laugh as they boarded the Normandy. "I like the quad on this one! You would have made a good krogan. Too bad you're too squishy."
"You call this squishy?" Kiara lifted her shirt after removing her armor to show her toned stomach.
"I'm not asking why Kiara is taking her clothes off in front of Wrex." Decimus stated when he saw the scene he just walked into. While Shepard went to take the call from the council Kiara and Decimus headed to the dining hall. While Kiara was making herself a sandwich, Decimus was hugging her from behind and resting his head on her shoulder.
"You know it's really hard to move when you're doing this," she stated, a hint of a smile on her lips. Decimus just purred and hugged her tighter.
"Too bad. I'm not moving."
"Would you two do that somewhere else?"
Both looked over to see Ashley rolling her eyes at them. Decimus saw Kiara smirk and knew immediately she was up to something.
"Do what? You mean this?"
She turned around and surprised Decimus by tugging him down and pressing her lips to his mouthplates. He knew it was just to tease Ashley but he was going to savor the feeling of her lips while he can. His purr deepened as he pulled her closer and tried not to chuckle when he heard Ashley gag.
"You two are disgusting." Ashley scoffed, getting up and heading for the lower deck. Kiara snickered as she pulled away from Decimus.
"I hope you know I didn't mean anything with that kiss. I just wanted to piss her off."
"If you kiss me like that you can piss off whoever you want." Decimus replied with a silly grin that made his mandibles flutter. Kiara rolled her eyes and slipped out of his arms so she could go eat with Jane. It was then Decimus noticed Garrus was standing at the other end of the hall looking at him with a raised brow.
"I don't think I've ever seen you act this way with a woman before." Garrus mused as he walked over. Decimus shrugged as he grabbed himself a drink.
"Probably because I don't see her as a one night stand. I really care about her."
"I'm not judging your taste in women, I just don't see the appeal of a human."
"So you're telling me you weren't checking out the commander last week?"
Garrus tensed, "I was impressed with her negotiating skills, nothing more."
Decimus chuckled, patting him on the shoulder as he walked by. "You keep telling yourself that."
--------------------------------------
"You know Jane when I said our next mission should be to the beach, this isn't what I meant."
Kiara leaned against the wheel of the mako as Shepard went over Kirrahe's plan.
"I'll join the second team. You're needed to arm the bomb." Ashely spoke up. Kiara rolled her eyes as Ashley and Kaiden argued on who should go with Kirrahe.
"How about this, I'll go with Ashley and Decimus can go with Shepard. He can help break into the base and I can provide backup."
Shepard nodded, "just be careful I want you both back in one piece."
Kiara smirked giving Shepard a mock salute as she went over her weapons. Once she was ready she walked over to Wrex to see how he was doing.
"How're you holding up big guy?"
Wrex grunted, "you better hope Shepard is right about this."
"Trust me, I know Jane and she would do everything in her power to find a proper cure if she could."
Wrex let out a snort, side eyeing her. "What about you? Do you think the krogan deserve a cure for the genophage."
Kiara didn't look at him as she stared at the waves lapping at the shore. "As someone who can't have kids I know that I'd give anything to be able to have a child."
Wrex hummed walking past her and pushed his shotgun into her arms.
"Come back in one piece."
Kiara smirked as she strapped his shotgun to her back. "I plan to."
----------------------------------------
"Shepard we have geth flyers keeping us from advancing. Anyway you can take care of them?" Ashley called over the comms while Kiara kept watch at the back of the group.
"Decimus found the fueling station. The flyers have been taken care of."
"Roger that, move out!" Ashley gestured for the team to move forward. Kirrahe had Kiara advance to the front of the group to begin the frontal assault while his men fired long distance. Ashley watched Kiara's back as she threw herself into the middle of geth and blasted them back with a mix of biotics and Wrex's shotgun.
"Alright, Ashley and I will go on ahead to regroup with Jane." Kiara gestured to the stairs ahead of them.
"Alright, our team will retreat to the ships and move out of the blast radius. Good work Williams, Odell." Kirrahe nodded to the women as they ran to the stairs.
"Y'know, you weren't half bad back there Ash." Kiara commented, looking over her shoulder at Ashley with a grin. Ashley returned her grin and gestured to the shotgun.
"I could say the same about you. I've never seen a vanguard on the field before but I can see why you guys take the front line."
"Oh yeah, nothing is more intimidating than an angry vanguard charging at you."
Kiara's laughter was cut short when a bullet broke through her shields and pierced her side. Ashley quickly pulled Kiara down behind a stack of crates as the geth swarmed from their hiding spots and shot at where the women took cover.
"Shepard! We're pinned down and Kiara has been shot!

Consequences (An original work)
Okay, so this is an original work of mine, and I just thought I might as well post it here cuz I feel like it. Just lemme know what you think.
Brendan rushed out the door, frantically grabbing his keys, his phone, then snagged his thin hooded jacket off the hook as he sprinted to his car. His heart was beating out of control as all he could think about was Parker. His everything in the world, who he cared for more than anyone.
Now he was missing.
Brendan had gotten the call from his boyfriend’s brother about an hour ago that Parker wasn’t answering his phone, wasn’t at his job, and his car had been abandoned. He just...disappeared. Brendan had panicked at once, knowing that he would never forgive himself if anything ever happened to Parker. He was the love of his life, and he couldn’t bear the pain of loss.
Not again.
Brendan jumped behind the wheel of his 1982 Chevrolet pickup truck, the pine green paint scratched in some places from the wear and tear the truck had received over the years. The leather bench seat in the front was torn in some places, and in one corner the edge of a spring was nearly visible. The dash held no modern technology, instead a cassette player used for the multiple Metallica and ACDC tapes stored in the glove compartment. The engine roared to life as he turned the key, his breath hard. He would find Parker, no matter how long or strenuous the search would be.
He ran a hand through his shaggy dark brown hair, always messy but still looking good. Brendan was just about to put the truck in gear, his hand on the standard floor shift, his beaten up black high-top Converse sneaker on the clutch, when his phone started to vibrate in his pocket, the customised ringtone assigned to Parker making him fumble for his mobile, nearly falling from his hand as he answered.
“PARKER?!” He exclaimed, but a different voice carried through the receiver.
“Ah, Brendan. I can assume by the lack of other noise that you’re not on the road yet. Good. I was quite hoping I would be able to catch you before you went off on a wild goose chase.” The voice said, and Brendan’s eyebrow rose.
“Who the hell is this? WHERE IS PARKER?!” He yelled, but the voice just chuckled with an incoherent mutter. Brendan let out a small growl, waiting for an answer.
“Now, calm down there, buddy. We have your sweet little boyfriend, and if you want him back, you’ll do exactly as I say.”
Brendan’s jaw clenched. “And if I don’t?”
A slight scoff was heard on the other end. “I don’t think you’d gamble your boyfriend’s life like that.” Brendan’s breath stopped, and the man on the other end of the line snickered. “Okay, Dwight, I’ve got to ask. Do you have any guesses as to who I am? Have you figured out the mystery yet?” He asked, but Brendan just groaned.
“What mystery?! I don’t give a shit who the hell you are, you took my boyfriend!” He yelled with fury into the phone, then a cry of pain sounding far off made his eyebrow rise. “What was-”
“Brendan! Please-”
Brendan froze at his boyfriends’ voice, his body tensing when Parker’s tone was cut off. His breath began to grow hard. “What are you doing to him?! WHAT DO YOU WANT?!” He demanded, and the man clicked his tongue.
“Brendan Dwight, are you aware how valuable you are?” He asked, drawing confusion from Brendan.
“What?”
“Yes. Your incredible hacking skills, your coding and design, you could certainly be an extraordinary asset to our uses.” The man said. Brendan bit his lip as he closed his eyes. He was one of the top coders for his computer company, but he was also one of the most skilful hackers on the web. He sighed.
“Who are you?” He asked with force but kept his voice calm, and the man frowned on the other end of the phone.
“It’s not important.”
Brendan narrowed his eyes. “No, it is important. You abducted my boyfriend, I want to know who you are so I’ll know whose ass I’m going to go after when I find you.” He snarled, and the man groaned.
“Fine, have it your way. My name is Scott Osbourne.” He answered, and Brendan’s hand tightened on his mobile.
“And what association are you with, or whatever it is that you work for?”
“I would reply with the previous ‘it doesn’t matter’, but I know that you’re stubborn and would keep asking so I’ll just tell you that I’m from a division of the Central Intelligence Agency.”
Brendan raised his eyebrow. “You’re with a part of the CIA. Y’know, why don’t I believe you right now?” Then he shook his head. “Actually, you know what, I don’t care. Why the hell do you want me?” He asked, and Osbourne clicked his tongue.
“Well, as I said, your skills could be extremely useful to me. And if you agree to join in employment with us, then I will consider letting your boyfriend here go free.”
Brendan’s eyes went wide. “Consider?!”
Osbourne groaned. “LOOK, do you want to save him or not?” He asked, clearly beginning to grow irritated. Brendan let out a hard breath, then clenched his fist.
“Of course I do.”
Osbourne chuckled. “Good. I’ll ping you the coordinates of where we are, and you can come to meet us, then we can talk business.” He said, and Brendan chewed the inside of his cheek, a moment later sighing.
“Fine. But when I get there, wherever ‘there’ is, if there is even a single scratch on Parker I swear to God I’ll kill you.” He threatened, and Scott let out a loud groan.
“JEEZ, you are such a cliche!” He remarked, then he sighed. “Okay. We’ll be seeing you soon, Brendan. The coordinates will be on your phone when you hang up.”
The young man sighed with a nod. “See you soon, then.” He sneered as he took the phone away from his ear, but before he shut the mobile, he spat into the mouthpiece, “Asshole.” He hung up, then fell back in the seat, hanging his head back, rubbing his face with his hands.
A beep from his phone made him look up to see his screen light up, and upon checking his phone he found a set of numbers that he immediately plugged into the GPS he had attached to his dash. When he saw the location, he rolled his eyes, then he put his hands on the wheel, pushed down the clutch, switched the gear to reverse, put his foot on the gas and gently eased on the pedal as he turned around in his seat, looking out the back window as he backed up, turning the wheel as he curved into the road. He pushed the brake, set the clutch again, then slid the shift into drive, took his foot off the clutch and immediately his right foot slammed down on the gas, following the path that the GPS showed him.
He would get there as soon as he possibly could. He wouldn’t let that Scott Osbourne, whoever the hell he actually was, hold his boyfriend for long.
Parker meant everything to Brendan. They had met two years ago in a bar, just talking, but they had hit it off right away. Both twenty-five years old, both looking for someone to be with. They started to keep contact, meeting up more often, and soon, two weeks later, the little outings became dates after one day when Parker admitted he had like Brendan from the moment they met. Brendan couldn’t have been happier hearing those words from the man who he had also fancied. They started their relationship, and within three more months Parker had moved in with Brendan. They had never thought they’d be as happy as they were together, and over the next year, they grew even closer. Brendan would do anything for Parker, and Parker would do the same for Brendan. The two were a perfect pair, but now this man had taken that happiness away, replacing it with intense and immeasurable fear.
Brendan flicked on his turn signal as he turned down the road that lead closer to the destination he had been given. His mind was racing, thinking of all the people or organisations that could want him for his coding and hacking skills. None that were sinister enough to abduct someone for leverage came to mind, which worried him even more.
He felt his hands tighten on the steering wheel, his eyes almost red with fury, the buildings he passed by becoming a blur, not because of his speed, but because his mind was blocking out everything else other than the thought of the situation he was walking into.
He pulled up alongside a building, eyeing the neon-lighted sign above the door. His face scrunched up in annoyance, then put his foot down on the clutch, moved the shift into park, then turned the key in the ignition, the engine’s growl turning to a purr then a silent sleep. Brendan opened the door, stepping down, then he slammed the door behind him, the squeaky hinges crying out as they strained more than usual.
The young man fixed his jacket, pulling the hood up against the swift wind that rustled the old newspapers in the alley beside the building. Looking up and down the street, the lack of any activity whatsoever set him on edge, but he had a feeling that whoever this man was, he had blocked off everyone else from coming close. He walked to the door, hesitating, then he pushed the large door open, walking in, the immediate darkness making his groan.
“Great.” He muttered as he pulled his hood off, then a small sound beside him made him freeze, and he whipped around, his anxiety rising as he heard another noise behind him, and he spun around again, blind in the dark room. Then a click made him stop where he was, and the lights flicked on only for him to be staring at a man holding a gun at him, dressed in a fairly nice outfit, and when he turned his head, he found another behind him dressed the same, trapping him in the small entrance room to the building. He felt his breath stop for a moment, then he shook his head. “I...D-don’t shoot…p-please…” He stammered, raising his hands in a surrendering gesture. One of the men chuckled, then tucked his gun in his belt.
“Oh, no worries, kid. The boss told us not to shoot you.” He said, and Brendan let out a long breath. Then an arm wrapped around his neck, another pinning his hands behind his back. Brendan choked, eyes shooting wide as he struggled. The man before him stepped forward, smirking as he flicked his eyebrows up. “Doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun before we send you in. He said no shots, but he never said anything otherwise.” He looked behind Brendan to the man that held him. “What do you think, Wayne? Should we give him a little pain?” He asked, and the man behind Brendan snickered.
“Oh, I’m all for that, Corbin.” Wayne agreed, tensing Brendan’s shoulders. Corbin clicked his tongue as he met Brendan’s eyes.
“Oh, buddy, you need to relax. You’re too stressed. Don’t worry, we won’t hurt you too badly. Nothing that’ll kill you.” He said, and Brendan finally found his voice to spit out his sarcastic remark.
“Thanks. I appreciate that.” He spoke, and Corbin nodded then met Wayne’s eyes with a flick of his eyebrows. Wayne shoved Brendan forward, the young man stumbling, then his eyes shot open as a sharp pain sliced across his upper arm, and he cried out as he grabbed it, looking down at his hand with wide eyes to see the blood on his palm. A dark stain was spreading across the sleeve of his jacket, and he whipped his head back to stare at the two. Corbin smiled, twirling the knife in his hand, then he flicked his eyebrows up.
“Wanna have some fun, kiddo?” He asked with a taunting tone, the flicker in his eyes making Brendan back up against the wall.
“Uh, I think I’ll pass…” He said in a slow voice, but Wayne shook his head.
“Tough luck. You don’t get a say in the matter.” In moments Brendan was on the floor, hand on his head, blinking away the white spots, unsure of what had even just happened. A coppery smell met his nose, then he felt something wet dripping over his lips, and he realised that he had just been punched. He started to stand up only to be kicked back down, Corbin standing above him with a smirk. He crouched down, pinning Brendan with his knee, turning his head to look up at his friend.
“Think I should give him a nice little scar?” He wondered, and Wayne nodded with amusement.
“Oh, definitely.”
Brendan struggled under the man, then Corbin turned his gaze back down. “Fair warning, this is gonna hurt. A lot.” He said with a snicker, the devious look on his face matching his personality. Brendan shook his head with wide eyes, thrashing under Corbin’s hold.
“No, p-please...I just-”
In a flash and a glint of steel, Brendan screamed, his breath hard and elevated, his eyes squeezed shut. He felt Corbin release his knee and Brendan brought his hand up to his head, crying out and gasping as he held the right side of his face. He opened his eyes, tears running from his left eye, only seeing red from his right. His fingers ran over the gash that tore from his hairline down over his eye to halfway down his cheek, blood dripping from his fingers and rolling down his chin. Choky breaths escaped his lips, and he looked up at the two in fear. Wayne kicked him back, smiling at the drops of blood that had fallen from his chin and now stained Brendan’s light blue shirt. He met eyes with Corbin.
“I think he’s fine to take in now, what do you think?” He asked, and Corbin nodded.
“Agreed.” He lifted Brendan up by the front of his jacket and held him close. “Ready to finally see your little boyfriend, Casanova?” He remarked, and Brendan glared at him, then shoved Corbin’s hands away.
“Shut it, you useless twit.” He spat. He leaned back when Corbin’s knife appeared inches from his face.
“You want to keep making smart remarks, go ahead. You’ll just get another nice little scar like that one.” He tapped the tip of the knife to Brendan’s cheek, the cold blade making Brendan shiver. He then nodded, refraining all sound, turning to walk into the main room.
He rounded the corner to see a man sitting on the counter of the bar, leaning back with his hands propping him up, his legs crossed and an amused smile on his face. His outfit surprised Brendan. He had expected a man in...well, he didn’t know, but he certainly had not expected someone in a slim black suit, a crisp white shirt with a black tie, an expensive and well-styled watch on his left wrist, but the one thing that stood out was the fact that he had a pair of all-black converse sneakers on. In very good nick, but still sneakers. His short and slightly messy dark blonde hair was a few shades lighter than the small bit of a goatee he had, and he flicked his eyebrows up, his emerald green eyes meeting Brendan’s gaze.
“Well, hello there, Brendan. I see my boys messed you up quite a bit. I greatly apologise, I believe I told them not to hurt you.” He spat at the two, who drew back a bit. Corbin frowned, glancing to the side.
“All you said was ‘don’t shoot him’...you never said anything about anything else.” He muttered, then Wayne elbowed him and Corbin looked up to find a burning glare from the man sitting on the counter. He took a step back, uttering a small ‘Sorry’, then let out a nervous breath.
Scott groaned, shaking his head. “Again, I am sorry. But that’s not what you’re here for, to receive an apology.” He looked to the side and Brendan followed his gaze to see Parker, hands tied and a gag in his mouth sitting at one of the booths. He met his boyfriend’s eyes in fear upon seeing the horrible slash on his face. Brendan moved his gaze back to Scott.
“Real clever, bringing us here. I can only assume that you somehow knew that-”
“That this was the bar where you two first met?” Scott said, then he smiled with a nod. “Yes, I knew. Honestly, I’ve had eyes on you for years, Dwight. You gained my attention long before you met Parker. But as you’ve gotten better and better at hacking, I had to up the stakes, and, well, this happened.” He said, and Brendan frowned, then narrowed his eyes.
“You said I’d be an asset to you. What the hell did you mean by that?” He asked, then he held up his hand. “Actually, disregard that for the time being. Let Parker go, please.” He said, and Scott raised his eyebrow, then he nodded with a shrug.
“Since you asked so nicely, I will allow it.”
He snapped his fingers and the man standing next to Parker, also wearing a black suit, untied his hands, removed the gag and Parker jumped up and ran to Brendan, throwing his arms around him in a tight hug, then pulling back slightly only to press his lips on his boyfriend’s in a sweet kiss. Brendan held Parker close, then when they let go, he shook his head, leaning his forehead against Parker’s.
“I was so scared when I heard that you were missing. I couldn’t go through losing someone again-” His voice cracked, and Parker stroked Brendan’s hair.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay...I’m here. I’m right here, I’m okay.” He whispered, lifting his hand to gently touch the gash on his boyfriend’s face with his wide ocean blue eyes, a few tears hanging on the edge. Brendan rubbed Parker’s cheek with a small smile, then a click of a tongue made them look up to see Scott staring at them. He hopped off the counter, crossed his arms, then pointed at Brendan.
“Okay, I’ll get to the main point as to why you’re here in a minute, but first, I want to know what happened. What did you mean, ‘again’?” He asked with curiosity, and Brendan froze, Parker glaring at him.
“Why the hell do you care?!” He exclaimed, but Scott just shrugged in a calm manner.
“Just curious.”
Brendan shook his head, then his eyes narrowed, hardly able to see through his right eye, the blood that dripped down making the white of his eye stand out even more. “Hold up, I want to know who the hell you really are! You’re not a part of a ‘special division’ of the CIA! So who-”
Scott held up his hand, shaking his finger. “Ah, that’s where you’re wrong, Dwight. See, when I said that I’m from a part of the CIA,” he reached into his suit top, pulled something from inside, then held it up in front of Brendan and Parker. Both their eyes widened at the Central Intelligence Agency badge that he held, the seal of the United States Government clearly visible just above the name on the bottom, ‘Scott Osbourne’. Scott nodded with a serious expression. “I was not leading you falsely.”
The three other men, Corbin, Wayne, and the man who had held Parker all drew the same badges from their jackets, and Brendan felt his blood pressure shoot through the roof. Scott took a deep breath, tucking his badge back in his jacket. “You see, you’ve gotten yourself into some serious trouble, Dwight. And I’ll explain to you in a minute, but I want to know what you meant.” He said, then he noticed Parker staring at him with an odd expression. “What’s that look for?”
Parker raised his eyebrow. “Okay, you’re a CIA agent, and yet you’re wearing...converse sneakers?” He said, his voice sceptical. Scott crossed his arms.
“When you hold a significant position, and you convince your boss to let you, then yes, I am wearing sneakers. They’re stylish, comfortable, and honestly, if I need to run after a guy or some shit, it’s easier to do so in these than in dress shoes. Now let’s stop getting off-topic and answer me, Dwight.” His tone turned serious, and Brendan gritted his teeth, then closed his eyes.
“Six years ago. That’s when I lost my sister.” He said, and Scott raised his eyebrow. Brendan let out a shaky sigh. “My little sister, Maybelle. I loved her so much, and she looked up to me. But one day when she was outside, she saw a cat get hit by a car. Being the absolutely pure and sweet-hearted girl that she was, she ran into the road to help the cat, but… a large truck came down the road. They didn’t see her until it was too late…” He closed his eyes, his lip quivering. “She was killed instantly. I had gone into the house for not even a moment, and just in that time my little sister died because I wasn’t watching her.” His voice cracked. “She was only seven years old.” He looked back up to meet Parker’s eyes. “I can’t go through losing someone I love again. I can’t go through that pain.” He said, and the room was quiet for a moment before Scott cleared his throat.
“Well...I...I truly do apologise for what happened. I understand how painful it is to lose people. But, I regret to say, I have to put that aside for now. Back to the subject matter.” He crossed his arms with a sigh. “Now, when I said you could be an asset to me, what was your first thought?” He asked, and Brendan raised his eyebrow, thinking for a moment.
“I...I guess I assumed that you were a part of a corporation that wanted to use me to hack into some government files-”
“Which you have already done, haven’t you?” Scott interrupted, and Brendan froze, his blood running cold. Parker stared at Brendan with wide eyes. The agent nodded with a sigh. “We are well aware that last night you hacked into the Pentagon. Now, we know that you didn’t copy any information or relay anything, but just the fact that you managed to do so is what brought this about.” He put his hands on his hips. “I am going to give you two options.” He said, his voice stern and harsh. Brendan and Parker met nervous eyes. “The first option, you get locked up for extreme capital violation, you never see Parker again, and you basically spend the rest of your life in a cell wondering why the hell you made the mistake you did.” He said, and Brendan felt Parker’s hand squeeze his tight, scooting closer to him, comforting him a slight bit from the unimaginable anxiety that had manifested from that singular sentence.
Scott’s expression then changed to a bit less serious. “Or option two. You come to work with the Central Intelligence Agency as a coder for us, alerting us of any potential threats such as yourself, you get to stay with Parker, he can work with us as a potential agent, but both of your names are wiped from the system. You have no contact with any of your old friends or relatives, you have no connection to your old lives, your identities are changed, and you must keep the secrets of the government as your top priority.” He offered, and Parker and Brendan met eyes, a clear hesitancy in them both. But that only lasted a few seconds before Parker smiled, taking both of Brendan’s hands in his own.
“I’d rather be with you forever and leave our lives behind than never see you again. What would be the point of living?” He said, and Brendan closed his eyes with a grin, nodding.
“You’re right. But are you truly willing to leave your brother behind, our friends-”
“Anything so that I don’t lose you,” Parker stated, a bit of inevitable pain in his voice, and Brendan nodded, then looked up at Scott.
“I’ll do it. We’ll do it. We’re in.” He said, and Scott nodded, then the other man who had been holding Parker walked over to Brendan, putting his hand on his shoulder and pushing him down into one of the booths. Parker started forward, then he stopped when he saw that the man was taping a bandage on the side of Brendan’s face, Corbin leaning against the booth telling Brendan that he may have gone a bit overboard, resulting in a piercing look from the young man. Scott called Parker’s name, and the man turned around to see the agent walk up to him.
“So you two are really willing to do this? What you’ll be doing, training to be a CIA agent, are you sure?” He asked, but Parker nodded without hesitation.
“As long as I get to stay with Brendan, I’m willing to do anything.” He replied, and Scott met him with a nod of approval, then he clicked his tongue.
“Ah, there...there’s one more thing. Remember when I said you’d have your identities changed?” He asked, and Parker nodded. Scott pulled two cards out of his pocket. “We were fairly sure that you would pick option two, so we had your new identities created.” He said, and Parker raised his eyebrow as Scott handed him the two cards. He observed that one had his picture and the other had Brendan’s, but instead of Parker and Brendan, his read ‘Logan Moralton’ while Brendan’s read ‘Quin Randall’. He looked up at Scott, who met his eyes. “You agreed to this. This is who you are now.”
The young man looked up at his boyfriend, who met his eyes. He rubbed the back of his head, his fuzzy shaved hair contrary to the longer hair on top.
Logan walked over to the man in the booth, leaned against the table, then handed him his card. “Looks like this is where our new life begins, Quin.” He said, and Quin looked up at Logan with wide eyes, moved his gaze to Scott, then back to Logan. He nodded, hanging his head, then he stood up, leaned forward to kiss Logan, then he crossed his arms to look at the CIA agent before them, a determined smirk appearing on his face.
“Okay. When do we start?”
2 YEARS LATER
Quin was sat at the computer console, the five different screens around him all writing code and watching for security threats as well as sweeping the world for internet hackers, as he once was. When he had been given the job of computer coder and alert by Agent Osbourne, his skill set had him perfectly qualified for the assignment. Logan had, in just two short years, become one of the best field operatives Scott had seen in quite a while. Unbeknownst to Quin until then, Logan was in fact very skilled in defence and combat. What surprised him even more, though, was the information that Logan was also a crack-shot, and hadn’t missed a single target in his training. Quin had been set on edge, but Logan soon comforted him by explaining that his father had taken him skeet shooting when he was a child. Quin hoped that was the only reason, as something still didn’t sit quite right, but he pushed the feeling aside. Maybe it was because he had never known Logan as anyone but the caring and sweetest man anyone could be.
He and Logan had their new life, and they were going to be the best at their work they could be.
A knock on the edge of Quin’s desk made him jump slightly, and he took off the half-headset that he wore, a headphone on one ear and a microphone attached so he could relay any incidents or threats without hindrance. He turned in his chair, leaning on the back to meet his overseer’s eyes.
“Sir! What can I-”
A groan came from the man as he leaned on Quin’s desk. “Okay, Quin, how many times do I have to tell you to call me ‘Scott’ before it sinks in?” He said with a slight bit of annoyance, his raised eyebrow making Quin sigh.
“Sorry. I’m used to the other Agents coming in, and, well, none of them are exactly as compassionate as you.” He explained, then a look of confusion grew on Scott’s face.
“I wouldn’t exactly call myself ‘compassionate’, just more connected and understanding of the men who work for me. I don’t exactly do that ‘emotionless and dark’ thing that the others do.” He said, flicking a small piece of dust off of his jacket. Quin nodded in agreement, then he drummed his fingers on his desk.
“So, uh, Scott, what’s the problem? You typically don’t come in here unless it’s to give me a coffee for some reason or there’s something bad.” He said, then pointed to Scott’s hand. “And I can see that you...don’t have a coffee. Therefore, something’s wrong. What is it?”
Scott frowned. “Okay, first off, those are not the only reasons I come in here. Yes, I will bring you coffee sometimes because you are our hardest worker. But other times-”
“Scott, that doesn’t matter right now!” Quin said in a bit of a harsh tone, then he drew back the moment he realised he had spoken that way. “Apologies, I didn’t mean to-”
“No, you were right, Quin. What happened is far more important.” His tone was suddenly serious, and Quin felt a knot start to tie in his chest. Then he noticed the look in Scott’s eyes and leaned forward.
“Scott...did...did something happen to-” He found he was unable to finish his sentence, but Scott’s aversion of eye contact made Quin’s breath hitch in his throat. Scott let out a long sigh, then ran his hand through his hair.
“Earlier today, two of our agents were in the midst of an assignment in Lisbon, Portugal-”
Quin snapped his fingers. “Ah! The central meeting place for all international spies! Lisbon was the spy crossroads of Europe, especially in the 1980s on back. Another was Vienna, Austria. They were both where our CIA agents were competing against the KGB Russian agents back in the Cold War era, around 1945 through the 1990s.” He said with a proud nod, then he stopped when Scott shook his head and let out a whoof of air, putting a hand to his forehead.
“Okay, Quin, I need you to get your nerd brain back on track, this is a matter of great importance, so listen.” He said in annoyance and Quin bit his lip, the tightness of his chest returning as he remembered what Scott had said. The Agent tapped his fingers on the desk. “As I was saying, two of our agents were in Lisbon, and yes, they were working with the spy network. But a few hours ago it was called in that we had lost contact with them. Only a short while later did we discover that while they were in a secret, well, intended to be secret, meeting with one of our spies, a group of the Russian Federal Security Service had laid a bomb in the vicinity, and they set off the device whilst the interaction was still in session.” He paused to take a deep breath, giving time for Quin’s anxiety to really skyrocket, his eyes wider than ever before. Closing his eyes, Scott sighed. “Both agents were killed in the blast. And...one of them was Logan.”
Quin’s breath stopped, his body frozen, his brain trying and failing to process those words. His mouth opened to make words but not a single sound came out. No… He couldn’t be… Logan couldn’t really be…
Scott stepped closer and put his hand on Quin’s shoulder. “I’m so sorry, Quin. I wish this weren’t true, but it is.” He said softly, and only then did Quin feel the tears running down his cheeks, the shaky and choking breaths he took as he shook his head now registering. He fell forward, his hands catching his head as his elbows rested on his knees. Scott rubbed his arm with a hard breath. “Quin, he was my friend, too, but no one was closer or dearer to his heart than you. And I understand if you need time.” He stepped back, hesitated, then gave a small nod. “I’ll let you be… Again, I’m so sorry.” He said, his voice sincere and pained.
He turned and strode away, leaving Quin sitting with his head in his hands, his black slacks sporting a few drops where his tears had fallen through his fingers. He licked his lip then sat back with a shaky breath, blinking hard as he internally screamed in pain for his true love. He shifted and pulled his phone from his pocket, turning it on to gaze at the lock screen. A picture showed up of him and Logan when they had gone to Paris for a short trip, one of the few times that their lines of work crossed, and Scott had allowed them one day for themselves. They were sitting on the grass in front of the Eiffel Tower, smiling and laughing, Quin’s hand messing up Logan’s hair, the bright blue of his eyes shining in the sunlight.
A tear ran down Quin’s cheek as he set his phone down, closing his eyes as he still didn’t want to think or accept what Scott had told him. But he knew that he had to. Although he didn’t know where to go or how to even live on without his boyfriend, he knew what Logan would have told him to do. Logan had always said that moving on is an important and necessary function of life, but that you should also follow your heart.
Even so, Quin couldn’t help but think to himself, ‘Logan, I know I should follow my heart, but if my heart is in a million pieces, which piece do I follow?’
