Decay Belonged to Izuku

Here is my two cents.

All for One being Hisashi Midoriya would not be enough to break Izuku nor Tenko. Tenko doesn't feel like he was replaced, like how Touya feels. He feels used. Like a puppet. Izuku has more father figures than he knows what to do with. I like Dad for One, don't get me wrong.

But it's not powerful enough.

The only thing that would hit every box of everything the story has been about is if All for One and Dr. Garaki gave Tenko Izuku's original quirk. If Izuku was meant to decay.

"Face it, Deku, you'll never have a quirk stronger than mine."

"Even you could become a hero."

"Perfect quirk for a villain. Even I started to believe it."

"These things aren't gifts, they are curses."

"I can take and give quirks, but I can't just throw them away!"

The absolute worse thing to Horikoshi isn't merely good or bad things. If it was, All Might would be dead. But he's alive because the worst thing in the world is for him to watch his legacy burn and be helpless. If it was, Endeavor would be in jail. But he's free, and expected to re-explain and re-affirm to every citizen and journalist who asks him that this is all his fault. The absolute worse things to Horikoshi are the bittersweet things you are expected to be grateful for, even as they eat away at your will to live. The worst things are the awful truths you must endure. Congrats Hawks, your childhood hero is worse than your parents. Congrats Overhaul, you accidentally put your father into a permanent coma....

So wouldn't the worse thing Izuku could experience from "Hisashi Midoriya" be him expecting gratitude for protecting Inko from the ticking time-bomb that is Decay? Wouldn't the worse thing be the guilt Izuku would have for everything Tenko had gone through? Not simply because "I know the guy that did it to you."

But "he did it to you to spare me."

Someone is going to explain to me why Inko was doing the Upset Woman pose BEFORE Izuku was declared quirkless. And then the next thing is her bland "shocked" performance with the nonsensical test results and exposition provided by All for One's personal doctor... then she's crying and apologizing to Izuku...

Inko as a villain who falls in love with All For One. The pair of them becoming a terrifying villain duo and starting a life together then eventually have Izuku.

Inko stops being an active villain, choosing to instead focus on raising her son.

All For One, also known as Hisashi Midoriya to their civilian friends, accepts this decision and chooses to pay for his wife and son to live a comfortable and peaceful life.

And then fourteen years later All Might gives Izuku One For All.

Summary:

Reflection on Memories: Izuku has remembered everything, but somehow that doesn't make things easier.

The Truth: Masaru, Mitsuki, Inko, and Hisashi reflect back on how things got to be the way they are.

Extra: Denki sends a message to Kurogiri. Himiko and the rest of the League are finally prepared to attack.

The first time that Toshinori met the villain Marble was when they were teenagers. She wasn’t considered a villain then, but he wasn’t considered a hero then. However, jogging on Dagobah beach in the middle of the night, he wasn’t expecting to run into the green haired woman.

Sitting on the pier, she looked conflicted. Her face seemed collected from a distance, but her eyes told a different story. The ocean was beautiful with the moonlight highlighting the sleepy waves. However, it seemed that Marble was looking far beyond the ocean.

The girl also just looked disheveled. Her clothes were wrinkled and torn, and her hair wasn’t tied back in a ponytail, but flying in the wind. Almost like she had just gotten out of a fight herself.

Marble might be a villain, but Toshinori wanted to be a hero.

“M-Marble!” He called from the edge of the pier.

Marble turned around, obviously startled. She rolled her eyes before picked herself off the side of the pier and gathering herself in a stance, ready for confrontation.

“Ugh, Spare me the heroic monologue Toshinori. Let’s just fight.”

“Oh no, I’m not trying to fight. Are you okay?”

She didn’t back down.

“I’m not in the mood to play therapy with you.”

“Well, I’m not in the mood to fight.”

“Then go away!” Inko turned around and sat down on the pier.

Toshinori debated turning around and acting like this didn’t happen. Something in him just told him to stay with her. Walking down the pier, he kicked his shoes off and sat down next to Marble. Kicking his feet in the cool ocean water.

“We don’t have to talk, but I’m gonna sure not gonna leave you alone. It’s dangerous out here.”

Inko turned to look at him, the deadpan look on her face making him cackle with laughter.

That was a mistake, as before he could react, Toshinori found himself climbing back on the pier absolutely soaked.

“Marble!”

“What! I thought you liked jokes?” Now it was her turn to laugh.

Shaking himself off, Toshinori sat back down.

“Alright, we’re not really even but I’m still not leaving!” Toshinori sat back down, choosing to ignore how his shorts stuck to his wet skin.

“Fine, stay. Next time I’m whooping your ass though.”

Thinking about the possible aftermath between Tomura and Izuku after the war, and how Inko might feel about it

Like... You tried to kill my son multiple times. You held him hostage once. You tried to kill everyone. The attack from your villain group is the reason he isolated himself from the people who love him. I can't understand you. I don't think I want to understand you. How could you do all of this? Why did my son want to save you?

Why, in the end, did it work?

You're in this room with these heroes and I don't know anything about you but still I never imagined someone like you could look so small. I don't know what they plan to do with you. I don't know what to do either. I used to think you should leave us alone, locked up and shut away. But the way my son looks at you, the way he hangs onto the hope for your future, the way he looks even more changed after coming out of that final battle, I wonder if he wants there to be another way. I wonder if locking you away is the right thing

I offered cookies to my son. I only offered them to you because I felt obligated and nervous about what you would do if left out. I can't forget the look on your face when you took one and bit into it. You thanked me, quietly, and it was strange to me that a villain like you could behave in such a way

You look small again. You keep to yourself despite how rude you can be. You keep bringing out that video game device when you're bored and take up space anywhere you can, on the floor or on the couch, in people's way. There's paperwork to do, a pile they want you to fill out before going forward, and you're groaning like it's homework. You behave more like a teenager than a villain. You're more like a kid, sometimes

Midoriya is hit by a quirk and ends up in a parallel universe where he has been dead for about five years. In this universe, All Might was declared legally dead three years ago, All For One is a gray guy and his mother is a super villain, who is hunting him down because she thinks he's just some sick bastard using the face of her dead child. To stay alive and under the radar, he teams up with this version of Dad for One and Small Might, who is not dead yet, but almost.

Pocket you cannot leave me hanging like that, what happens after the DNA test comes out as a match?

1- The next night, the broker Izuku would prefer to not acknowledge comes back with a new piece of paper. "Well?" Shigaraki asks, and the broker waves his hands. "It's a boy." Dabi grabs the paper. "Match between Midoriya Izuku and... Person 2? Giran, what-" he stops, looks at Izuku, and tilts his head. "All Might's secret lovechild?"

2- Shigaraki buries his head in his hands at the worse mental image. Magne pats his back, Twice calls Dabi both an idiot and a genius, Toga questions how Giran got All Might's blood to test. Spinner and Compress turn to Izuku, and he shuts them down immediately. "No. I am not. Ugh, Todoroki thought that too "

Dabi gets so mad at that, he storms out without a word. Izuku thinks that's kinda weird, but Giran just takes the paper he dropped. "I didn't, Toga, that's mine. And it was a spit test, not blood."

Magne points out that spit is kinda just filtered blood, and Shigaraki yells at them all to shut up. Then, he asks Izuku about Todoroki- and his weaknesses.

3- Izuku has had to deal with Shigaraki wanting info on Bakugou out of him for the last day, and he's at his limit now. He snaps, Shigaraki snaps back, and it's only when Spinner tries to break in to point out that Todoroki was the other one who fought Stain. That's a good enough redirection for Izuku to ask if Shigaraki isn't super annoyed by the stain cosplay thing, considering their mall conversation. Giran sits down next between Magne and Compress, who fill him in on how Izuku's been the last day- refusing to let Toga spoon-feed him, but begrudgingly allowing Spinner, though they suspect that will be different now. Giran says Spinner is one of the better choices for Izuku to try and use for sympathy to get an out, since he does have Stain's approval, and Spinner is, as far as Giran knows, the only member who hasn't killed anyone yet. Smart. Compress says it runs in the family, but Magne says it's absolutely no thanks to Giran at all.

4- Giran lights up a smoke, with that gun lighter of his, and Izuku cuts off when he sees it, wary, until he just lights a cigarette and puts it away. He does ask though, "Giran, right, the broker? You give them the equipment too, you gave Mustard his gun?" Giran tells him he gave Dabi a gun, actually, and Mustard stole it. The others laugh. Izuku doesn't. He's mostly glad he heard any other name to use for the broker than Hisashi. But then Giran says that it sounds like Izuku's smart, and wonders if Tomura would have an easier time swaying Bakugou to his side using that. Either way, he'd be useful with some of Giran's training- and a short leash. Izuku's very unhappy with this idea, but Shigaraki's unhappy with him and says he might just do that, since it'll piss him off. Once Sensei makes sure he isn't OP, of course.

5- Izuku has a miserable next day, as usual. That night, Giran doesn't visit. Instead, the door knocks just before All Might crashes through the wall. Edgeshot knocks a lot of people out, then pauses looking at the piece of paper that fell from the bar. It's almost as disturbing as the teenage corpse floating inside of Kurogiri. But Izuku's hugging All Might, so everything is fine- aaaand they've all been wrapped away. Well. At least All Might can make AfO feel pain for it. Nine UA students commit vigilantism and get Izuku to a hospital. Inko is immediately brought over- though the hero Edgeshot does pull her aside while Izuku's in surgery, with a few questions.

+1- After Izuku gets his casts off and can go home, he gets a text from an unknown number.

"Hi kid. Like I said, even chances you'd get picked up. You can ask your friends how they knew, it was patches storming out in a hissy. Also like I said, you owe me a favor. Later, though. For now, just don't block this number?"

Izuku immediately blocks the number.

Cities away, Giran laughs and pulls out a second burner phone.

"fine, I get it, one helicopter parent is enough. Take your space."

Izuku glances to the door, behind which he knows his mother is getting ready for visitors from UA, that she isn't sure he's safe there, and holds his phone so tightly it breaks.

#he does end up at ua tho because Inko was freaked out about the test. it's probably fake but seems like they're stalking her kid #and i mean he isn't safe at the mall he isn't safe at home. ua isn't worse at least #but hmm wonder if he'll tell anyone....#maybe he can dream one of the first three holders memories and decide to...#knows All Might won't care etc #but what's Inko thinking!! she's got no clue if that sugar daddy from almost two decades ago is actually on the villains radar or not #and if he is- she didn't get his real name so.....#pocket talks to people #anon #ask game
