I mean, I knew Wanda as gonna be the villain of course, but I didn't think her character in this movie would be so...disappointing.

with as much spoiler as you want, why do you like the marvels? still haven't seen it bc the last years marvel projects were so horrible that i lost all excitement, even though i loved ms marvel and wandvision and was initially pretty hyped

this made me really nervous to post so it took me a while but the marvels spoilers under the cut !!!

so i really loved the marvels, and i know a lot of people didn't but im actually really glad someone asked me why.

first of all, as someone with an extremely similar background to kamala, seeing her being so empowered and looked up to is so inspirational to me. she is everything i ever could have wanted in the scarce representation i see of myself. she was also just such a hilarious character and her fangirling over carol had me laughing out loud. she was an accurate representation of any fan and only iman could portray such a character.

seeing carol piece together her past and struggling really humanised her for me. i feel like we rarely get to see the vulnerable side to heroes and i really appreciated the writers putting that in there. discovering more about the annihilator and her past made me really connect with her, and im sure a lot of people could resonate with her character if they gave her a chance. everyone makes mistakes with huge consequences, of course hers are on a whole different scale as she is a fictional character but it's nice to see a character, especially a female, reclaim their past and live their life as they want to in the present.

hearing about monica's struggles before and after the blip made me understand her character a bit more. at the beginning of the film i was slightly hesitant about her character and confused about her behaviour towards carol but when she explained to her how much she idolised her as a child, it broke my heart for her. i think her being able to express how she felt to someone she had such a level of resentment towards was very mature and i appreciated being able to witness such a human scene.

the film's pace was perfect. there was no slow bits and there was always something happening. there were so many hilarious scenes, like when the three main characters are training and adapting to the switching from their powers and i was grinning from ear to ear the entire time. it felt like watching three best friends playing around and having fun.

the visuals were gorgeous, especially when they went to aladna and all the characters were dressed in such eccentric clothing and were dancing so freely.

as a woman, the film felt very empowering to me. i felt represented by each character in a different way and it had an interesting plot paired with insane fight scenes and talented actors in the main roles. i agree the recent marvel projects had me doubting if marvel could ever make something good again but i would definitely recommend the marvels to anyone seeking out a feel good, feminine, vulnerable film.

hi hi hi so like the only other blog i interact w on here hasn’t watched loki yet so i found this one- and like i’m very much lacking sleep rn so this could be one of three things. 1) everyone figured this one out already and i’m just incredibly slow. 2) i’m so tired i’m being dumb. 3) i actually did something smart for once.

anyways getting to the point. so like agatha says in wandavision that wanda is destined to destroy the world, but wanda (seemingly) doesn’t want to. so like, if she didn’t that would technically be her nexus event?? but if loki sylvie and mobius succeed in bringing down the tva they wouldn’t be there to ‘arrest’(?) wanda??
