When nearly a week had gone by, and you still wouldn't focus on picking out a new car for yourself, Bradley was starting to get frustrated. Sharing the Bronco with you wasn't a big deal. You respected it and treated it well, but he had to play nice when you wanted to use it to go to brunch on Sunday with Cam and Maria at the same time he wanted to play golf.
"Can't Jake pick you up?" you asked him with an annoyed sigh. "I'll text him and ask if he can come get you."
"Why can't Cam or Maria pick you up?" he asked, feeling kind of fucking fed up with you at the moment.
"Fine," you replied, an eerily calm expression taking over your face. "I'll have one of them pick me up for brunch in the morning. Don't worry about it."
You turned on your heel and walked back to the bedroom leaving Bradley raking his fingers through his hair. He had finally started to feel normal again after having your parents at the house for a few days. It's not like they were even loud or inconsiderate, but he just struggled a bit with it anyway. He wasn't used to closing the bedroom door knowing Tramp liked to wander around the house at all hours of the day and night. He liked to take a piss with the bathroom door open, and he liked to randomly reach up under your shirt when you were in the kitchen if you welcomed it. And he just couldn't do any of that with other people in the house, even though it was family.
"Fuck," he mumbled. It wasn't even a big deal for you to take the Bronco to brunch. Jake or Javy could easily get him on their way to the golf course, and now he needed to go apologize to you. But the bedroom door was closed when he got there, and he immediately felt like he needed to be touching you, because you were literally the only person who could be in his personal space all day long and not usually annoy him in the slightest.
When he turned the knob, he was relieved to find it wasn't locked. "Baby Girl?" he called out cautiously, and then he found you in the bathroom. "Shit," he whispered, watching you wipe your eyes before turning toward the mirror, but there was no way to hide from him in here. "I'm sorry."
"Could you just leave me alone?" you asked without looking at him.
The words caused him physical pain, because that was the last thing he wanted right now. He'd gotten used to how much better everything was recently, and he was absolutely unwilling to stop communicating with you. "Can we talk about it? About a car? We could buy one tomorrow if you pick one out."
You turned and snapped at him. "Maybe next time just don't fuck up the one I already have!"
He had apologized to you countless times. He'd given your shit car a eulogy. He had offered to buy you any car you found that you wanted, but now he was just as mad as you were. "I just wanted to tell you that you can use the Bronco tomorrow."
"How generous," you replied sarcastically. "But I already told you I'll get a ride from Cam or Maria. Now would you please leave me alone?"
Bradley nodded and retreated back to the living room couch with Tramp, because he didn't know what else to do. He stretched out and decided to look at cars until you resurfaced to make dinner. There were two huge dealerships in San Diego that had the current model year of your old car, and they both had them stocked in several colors with different options available. You could get a new red one with a sunroof and gray interior just like you had before. He'd upgrade the stereo package to make riding in it less painful for him, but he'd buy it right now if you said it's what you wanted.
As he thought back to the way you dragged your feet about wedding planning, he muttered a string of obscenities. At this rate, he'd be sharing the Bronco with you for a long time. He bookmarked a bunch of new cars, and then he searched all over the country to see if anyone was selling an exact replica of the one he totaled. A few hours later, it occurred to him that you never came back out of the bedroom. He scooped up Tramp where he'd fallen asleep on his chest and carried him back down the hallway.
You were sound asleep in bed, curled up on your side, breathing softly. Bradley checked the time again. It was only 7:15, but maybe you just needed to rest. He tucked the covers up around your shoulders and kissed your forehead before venturing back out to the kitchen to make himself a sandwich before working out.
------------------------
By the middle of the week, you were aggressively annoyed by everything, but mostly Bradley's voice. On Sunday, Cam picked you up for brunch even though Bradley told you a million times you could use the Bronco. You didn't even want to use the Bronco. He could use it all day long. And then you went back to Cam's place and lounged on his couch until you were starting to get hungry for dinner. If Bradley wondered why you were out for a six hour brunch, he didn't ask.
But when he eventually called your phone, you asked Cam to drive you home. "Your husband is like a twelve out of ten," he murmured as he drove you. "Don't be mean to him." Then you climbed out of his car onto your driveway and rolled your eyes, because after that he was getting on your nerves, too.
So on Monday and Tuesday, you just avoided Bradley as much as you could at work after driving in with him, but on Wednesday, as he pulled into the parking garage, he cleared his throat. "Hard Deck tonight?"
"You can go," you replied as you unbuckled your seatbelt. "You can take the Bronco, and I'll just stay home." You bit your lip immediately as you said the words, because you felt like crying. You couldn't understand what was wrong with you as tears burned your eyes. The last thing you wanted to do was skip a fun night out. You also didn't know why you couldn't commit to a car. Everything felt like too much the last few days, and you wanted to scream.
"Can we talk about this?" Bradley asked, his voice pleading with you, but you didn't even know what to say.
"Later," you told him before heading for the building, but he was right behind you, undeterred.
"Don't give me that later bullshit. We've been talking and communicating a lot better, and I absolutely refuse to stop doing either of those things!"
You spun around so fast, he almost collided with you. "I have a meeting with Bickel, okay? About Annapolis. And it starts in twenty minutes. And I'm tired. And I miss my car. And I need to go."
After that, you weren't sure if he followed you or not, because you didn't turn around to check. When you got to your office and opened your computer, you saw the calendar reminder that made more tears cloud your vision. You cradled your forehead in your hand. Saturday was Carole Bradshaw's birthday.
The fact that you forgot it was coming up was worrying, because you couldn't let work take over your life again like it had in the past. You'd been mentally planning to make another fancy dinner to celebrate her day, the way you had for both of Bradley's parents' birthdays last year. Filet mignon and crab cakes and brownies.
Fuck. You wanted to sit alone in your office and cry all morning, but now you had four minutes until you had to sit down with your boss. You pulled yourself together the best you could and made your way to talk to Bickel. Cat was there too, and you could feel her intense gaze on you as if she was physically touching you. You knew she could tell something was on your mind, but you sat as calmly as you could and looked through the folder of information that was given to you.
Bickel folded his hands on his desk and said, "I'm letting the two of you decide how you'd like to present our work in Annapolis. I'm trying to finalize some dates for us, but it's looking like the first week of August. This would add two million dollars to our pending budget for next year, which would give us the opportunity to explore an even more advanced comms system. And it would be a great way for me to push for your promotion, Lieutenant Coleman."
"Yes, Sir," Cat replied immediately. When you were both dismissed, she took you by the arm out in the hallway and whispered, "Please, I need you to focus on this for me. Okay? Why do you look like you're on the verge of tears?"
"I'm having a bad week," you whispered, still unsure why you felt like this. Your fingers were tingling, and you were so anxious, you were about to walk yourself to see Dr. Genevieve. But you hadn't eaten breakfast, and it was almost lunchtime now after Bickel kept you so long. "I need lunch," you told Cat, and she sighed and walked down to the cafeteria with you.
Part of you wanted to see Bradley, but part of you did not. And something about the idea of a burrito bowl was turning your stomach just looking at it. You picked out a sandwich and some soup and found a spot at a table that was completely empty except for Bob.
"Hi," you said softly, and he looked up from his notebook with a smile as you slid into the seat across from him.
"Hi," he replied in his sweet voice that immediately made you feel calmer. "I actually was hoping to see you to thank you again. Maria has been really accommodating about me moving in, and this way I don't have to commute into the city every day."
You waved him off as you tried a spoonful of the flavorless soup. "I'm just happy it worked out. For both of you. I didn't want Maria to have some creep move in since she couldn't find anyone else. And obviously you're just lovely, Bob."
He visibly bristled a bit. "No, she shouldn't have to deal with a creepy roommate."
Then Jake dropped down in the seat next to yours and turned to smile as Cat sat on his other side. "Angel. What the hell are you doing to Rooster now?"
"What do you mean?" you asked, looking around, but your husband and Nat were still in line for food.
"He's fucking miserable today. Cranky as hell. And I know for a fact nothing can set that man off the way you can. It's honestly pretty funny, but he did snap at me three times. It's like dealing with Hondo all over again."
"Sorry," you heard Cat mutter as she ate her lunch.
You gripped your spoon in your hand and took a deep breath, but all you could say was, "I don't know." You truly didn't know what was going on. Your brain was in a constant fog, and you felt so antsy.
Bradley sat across the table from you, eyeing you carefully from his spot next to Bob. You tried to give him a reassuring smile, but you didn't know if it came across that way when he just looked sadder.
"Who's coming to the bar tonight?" Nat asked loudly.
After Jake and Cat agreed to go, you quietly said, "Not me. I have to catch up on some things I was supposed to read, but I'll drop Bradley off for the night."
Your husband shook his head and opened his mouth to reply, but Nat was already squeezing his shoulder. "Sounds good," she said, and after that, he sat quietly.
----------------------------
Bradley flew all afternoon, and it was bad. Just really, very bad. He was distracted, and the fact that Javy had to keep repeating himself was about to earn Bradley a lecture from Maverick if he didn't pull it together. But you were just making him so sad, and he had no idea why you were currently barely able to look at him without crying or yelling.
He hadn't even done anything. Had he? Yeah, he'd completely destroyed your beloved car, but the visit with your parents had gone pretty well. He hadn't missed any important dates of anniversaries. He'd been keeping up with his chores at home.
You'd been running a bit hot and cold in the bedroom. He'd never push you for more than you wanted to do, but then perhaps he hadn't been good for you recently? The mere thought had him squirming and sweating in his cockpit as he followed Javy into a dive. Shit. Could that be it? He always got you off. Except that he knew he hadn't in the family bathroom at the Padres game, but you and he had been in a rush. And that night last week when you started yawning while you rode him, he distinctly remembered you saying it didn't matter if you came since you were so tired.
Shit. Things had been going great, he didn't realize what he'd been doing, and now he had to figure out how to fix it when you seemed so disinterested in talking to him. As he brought his jet back down to the tarmac he tried to come up with a plan, but he felt helpless. These were the times he felt like having a mother of his own would come in handy, because he couldn't exactly take this to your mom.
"Fuck." He wrenched his helmet off and ran his fingers through his hair. You were sending him off to the bar alone tonight to get him out of your space, he could tell. So maybe the best thing he could do right now was just follow your lead.
After he showered and headed for the parking garage, he found you leaning against the side of the Bronco waiting for him. "Hi, Sweetheart," he said, leaning down to kiss you softly.
Your quiet response of, "Hi, Roo," made him feel a lot better, and you let him buckle you in, which was great. But then you said, "I'll just drop you off at the bar later and come back for you. I have some things I want to get done."
He nodded. "Sure. Whatever you want."
Back at home, he was able to coax you onto his lap for dinner at the dining room table, and even though it was a quiet affair, he didn't mind. He just rubbed his hand up and down your back, and eventually you sank back against him even though you'd only had a few bites of food. You were practically asleep on him as he finished eating, but you jolted up when his phone vibrated against your hip.
"It's probably just Nat," he whispered, and you nodded as you checked the time.
"I'll drop you off whenever you're ready, and I'll come back for you around ten?"
He cupped your perfect cheek in one hand and asked, "Are you sure you don't want to come? I can help you get caught up with work tomorrow or this weekend. I'm a pretty good helper."
You cracked the tiniest smile as you said, "I'm just not in the mood. You go and drink and have fun, and I'll come back for you."
He kissed your cheek. "I'll be waiting, ready to come home with you whenever you get there."
--------------------------
When Bradley climbed out of the Bronco, you watched him head inside the bar. He was wearing his white and yellow floral print shirt, part of the matching set that he'd bought for the two of you, and he looked so sexy, you were thrumming with need. You were all over the place. A few days ago, the mere sight of him had you ready to climb out the window, and now you were on the verge of chasing him down to fuck you.
"Get a grip. My god," you moaned as you pulled back onto the road. At least now you could go to the store and purchase everything you'd need to make Carole's birthday dinner in peace.
The store was quiet, which was great, because you didn't currently know if something was about to set you off. You grabbed a cart, and the cool metal against your hands felt nice. A smile found its way to your face as you listened to Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac playing throughout the store and picked out some beautiful looking steaks. Then you found everything for the crab cakes and the brownies, and you got a bottle of expensive champagne.
You were already feeling better now, almost excited to celebrate the mother-in-law that you'd never had the privilege of meeting. She deserved a special day and a fancy dinner, because even though you didn't know her personally, you were absolutely certain Carole Bradshaw was incredible. The sparkle of your engagement ring caught your eye, and you stood in front of the wine and champagne and sobbed quietly until you felt like you could continue shopping.
It had to be the combination of work and her birthday and your car that was setting you off. No matter how bad it made you feel, you'd pick out a new car this weekend. You knew there was enough in your savings account for a down payment, so you just had to force yourself to bite the bullet. You'd do it for Bradley and for yourself.
While you unpacked the groceries, you made a sandwich, finally hungry again after you'd barely been able to eat dinner. But that started to make you too full after just half of it. "Don't tell Daddy," you whispered before feeding it to Tramp.
Then you sat at the island and read through the folder from Bickel. You had weeks of research and planning ahead of you, but it would be worth it for the grant money. Cat was a solid gold choice as a partner for this, especially since she was motivated by that promotion she wanted. You were excited, but realistically so. You needed to make sure you didn't overdo things this time around. You could rely on Cat as much as yourself, and you knew that now.
When you checked the time on your phone, it was already 10:30. You texted Bradley and let him know you'd be there soon. When you started the Bronco, you got a text back.
Bradley Rooster Bradshaw <3 <3 <3: Can't wait for you to take me home.
You smiled and sang on your way there, already feeling better about having everything for Carole's birthday dinner ready to go. You parked the Bronco and headed inside, twirling Bradley's keyring on your fingers. As soon as you pushed the door open, the wave of noise hit you, and you made a beeline for the pool table. Penny's summer drink specials must have been on point, because the place was packed.
Just when you were trying to squeeze between two massive guys, you caught sight of Bradley just in time to see a woman walk up behind him and tap him on the shoulder. Maybe he thought it was you at first, because he spun to face her with a smile on his face. You got jostled around a little bit as your steps faltered and came to a stop. Bradley was conversing a bit with her now, although his smile was gone, and you watched as she reached up with her perfectly manicured nails and dragged them along his paper airplane tattoo on his bicep.
"Oh, hell no," you gasped, registering that Bradley looked surprised, and not in a good way. But you were frozen to the spot now as disgust, embarrassment and jealousy washed over you. It wasn't like he wasn't wearing his wedding band. He was. How was that not enough? You couldn't decide if you wanted to run away or rip her head off.
Bradley immediately started to back away from her, shaking his head as he went, and then his gaze connected with yours. He mouthed your name, and you could see the concern on his face as you swallowed hard. Instead of running away, you stood there like an idiot when he came rushing in your direction.
"Sweetheart," he said, reaching for your hand, his eyes on yours.
"Who's your friend?" you asked. Your voice sounded like it belonged to someone else while your throat burned.
You let him wrap one big hand around your back and pull you closer, holding you there. "No idea. Never saw her before thirty seconds ago."
"I didn't like her touching you."
His eyebrow quirked up as his hand dipped a little lower. "Neither did I. Especially since I got the tattoo for you, Baby Girl."
You had your arms around his neck instantly, the other woman forgotten as you kissed your husband. He tasted like your favorite beer, and you whimpered. But your body felt somehow both too tender and too needy pressed up against him as you said, "It's for me. Mine. Let's go home."
-------------------------
Bradley let you drive since he'd had a fair amount to drink. That fucking woman just about ruined his night by asking him what he was drinking and then touching his arm, feigning interest in his unique tattoo. The past week had already felt like touch and go with you, and he was unwilling to make it worse. He still wasn't quite sure how to get things back to where they had been just a short time ago.
When you parked in the driveway in the spot where you used to park your car, he almost winced. But you crawled over to his lap and started to unbutton his shirt. "Take me to bed," you told him, rubbing yourself on him through his jeans.
He grunted in response, carrying you up to the porch and wrestling with his key in the lock as you kissed his neck. Clothing was discarded along the way, and when he got you in the bedroom with the soft lamplight illuminating your skin, he moaned.
"Jesus Christ, you're a dream."
Truly, your tits had never looked better, and somehow the aroused looking little scowl you were shooting his way was really working him up as you shimmied your jeans down your legs. He was hard when you finally pushed him onto the bed and climbed on top.
"I love you," he promised as your lips met his, and you sank down around his length. Warm and wet and perfect. Holy shit, you felt incredible as you rolled your hips slowly, his hands settling at your waist. You were velvety smooth everywhere. The only thing he wanted.
He held your hips in his hands and thrust up into you as his lips met your nipple. You moaned as he licked you, but as soon as he sucked hard, pulling you between his lips, you gasped. So he did it again and again, but your hips stilled and your hands left his shoulders and reached for his cheeks.
"It hurts," you gasped, pushing his face away from your chest. "Stop."
He let his head settle back on the pillow. "Sorry." Tentatively, he brought his hand up to your left breast and gave you a nice squeeze, but you pulled away further. Then you were kneeling next to him with your arms crossed over your chest. "Sorry," he repeated. "But I always touch you that way?"
You burst into tears and said, "It just hurts."
And that was the last thing you said to him for the night as you crawled under the covers. As soon as Bradley got his erection under control by pacing around the bathroom, he walked back to the bed to find you sound asleep.
On Thursday and Friday, you didn't even acknowledge it. When he asked if it was okay if he touched you on Thursday morning, you went willingly into his arms as the toaster popped out your breakfast. And on Friday morning, you let him snuggle with you a little bit before you got out of bed, so at least he was fairly convinced you weren't too mad at him. But he just knew he hadn't been doing enough for you in bed which really pissed him off.
He was older than everyone else around him seemingly all the time, and now he was feeling insecure about it again. If he could just manage to get you to have a real conversation with him, then he'd try to fix this. But you were busy with work, something else that had a red flag shooting up in the back of his mind. No, he was not going to fuck this all up yet again. You and he had something special, and he was going to demand a conversation.
--------------------------
You poked at your lunch on Friday as Jake and Bradley argued next to you in the cafeteria. You were barely able to pay attention to them, because you were so tired, and you had another meeting with Bickel in an hour. As far as you could tell, you were getting the flu, which seemed weird for July, but nothing else made sense.
No matter how much you slept, you were exhausted. Your body was aching, and you were so damn moody. You'd practically accosted Bradley on Wednesday after you picked him up from the bar, but then you fell asleep as soon as you told him your breasts hurt. You felt embarrassed now as you looked at him next to you, because after all of that, you didn't even let him finish that night.
As you adjusted your shirt, you could have screamed at how tender your nipples were. At least it was Friday. You could catch up on reading for your presentation research, and then you could sleep.
"Come on, Rooster," Jake complained. "You have to come tomorrow. I'll leave the hard seltzers at home, and Javy and I will behave."
Bradley turned to look at you with big, brown eyes before he told Jake, "No. No golf tomorrow. I have some things I need to take care of." Then he turned back toward you and softly said, "We're talking tomorrow. About a bunch of stuff. Until we are sorted out."
Now you felt guilty as Jake shot you a look. "We can talk tomorrow afternoon, Roo. Go play golf."
"Yeah, Bradshaw," Jake piped up. "Angel said you can do shit with her in the afternoon. So you'll come with Bob, Javy and I? You know Reuben sucks at golf. He's even worse than you."
"Go," you told Bradley, kissing the edge of his mustache before you stood. "Yes, Jake, he will be golfing tomorrow. I plan on sleeping in, and the quiet house will be nice."
Bradley reached for your hand, lacing his fingers with yours as he looked up at you. "I love you."
You nodded. "I love you, too. I need to go get ready for a meeting." His eyes were on your body as you walked away, but you needed to focus on work right now.
It was all you could do to go back to Bickel's office with Cat and not fall asleep in his soft leather chair. Your boss's calm voice and the warm room were almost too much for your senses. You were fighting with yourself to keep your eyes open. Fighting with everything you had to stay engaged. An hour went by and then two, and he was still talking, and so was Cat, and they kept asking you for input. You were clinging to your extensive knowledge on the subject matter and hoping for the best when Bickel's desk phone rang, and he finally dismissed you.
"This is so exciting," Cat gushed out in the cooler hallway. "I was telling Jake last night that you and I are going to have the best presentation at the Naval Academy next month, and do you know what he said?"
"Hmm?" you hummed as you walked to the lab.
"He offered to watch Jeremiah!"
"Oh." You hadn't even really considered how hard it would be for Cat to go to Maryland with you, but this was probably a big deal. Jeremiah wasn't even two yet. "Wow. Look at Jake being an exceptional boyfriend. Good thing I pushed the two of you to actually communicate with each other."
Cat laughed and hugged you before entering the lab, but you cringed. Communication. You'd talk to Bradley tomorrow afternoon. You'd pick a car tomorrow afternoon. But when you got home today, you were going to take your temperature and then get in bed.
You had to wait by the Bronco for such a long time, you contemplated texting Bradley to see what the holdup was. It was late, you were actually starving, and you wanted to go home. You shifted your bag from one shoulder to the other, beyond annoyed that there was only one key to this thing; you couldn't even sit inside. You glared at the pretty blue paint, really missing your ugly red car with your whole heart when you heard boots pounding the pavement behind you.
"I'm so sorry, Baby Girl," Bradley gasped. He must have run the whole way here from the tarmac since he was still in his flight suit. "We ran over. I should have left the keys with you this morning. I"m sorry."
You nodded as he helped you in the passenger side door and buckled you in. "Okay."
He pulled out of the parking garage, glancing at you every few seconds. "All you're going to say is okay?"
You yawned wishing you could get undressed. "What do you want me to say, Bradley?"
He was quiet for a few blocks, but when he turned down your street, he let loose. "I want you to say something more than okay. I want you to fucking talk to me, alright? I feel like everything I'm doing right now is making you mad at me, and I hate that. I fucking hate it." He hit the brakes a little hard in the driveway, and now you were alert as you started crying.
"Fuck!" Bradley growled, hands gripping the steering wheel. "I'm sorry." He looked so upset right now, you didn't even know what to do as tears streamed down your cheeks. Then he was running across the driveway and helping you out of the Bronco and into the house, but the tears kept coming. And now your head was throbbing and you felt so sick.
"I just want to go to bed," you gasped. "Please," you begged as he kissed your forehead over and over again while Tramp jumped around.
"Of course," Bradley whispered, his lips meeting your face again before he knelt in front of you. He kissed your thighs through your khaki pants and helped you out of your boots, looking up at your face which you were sure looked like a wreck. "Sweetheart, I'm so sorry I yelled."
"It's okay," you managed as the room spun a little bit. "I just need to get in bed."
He carried you there, and it felt amazing to not have to walk. Then he set you on the bed and undressed you as he asked, "Do you want some water? A snack?"
You nodded and got under the covers, and said, "Yes, please," as you started to doze off. All you managed to do was eat a handful of trail mix and chug a glass of water before you passed out.
When you eventually woke up, you felt a little better, but when you rolled over, the other half of the bed was empty and cold. It was eight in the morning according to your phone. You'd just slept for over twelve hours, and Bradley was out playing golf now. The cool fabric of his pillow on your face felt so nice, you rolled over all the way. You must have a fever and the flu. You felt too hot, and your breasts were aching. So was your abdomen. Your period was probably about to start.
You frowned and looked at your phone again, opening the calendar app. It was Carole's birthday, but it was apparently also five weeks since you'd had your period. "Oh my god." You practically fell out of the bed, your legs tangling up in the sheets as you tried to get to your feet.
"Oh shit," you gasped, running for the bathroom. You didn't know what to do first, but your stomach won as you lunged for the toilet and threw up everything in your stomach. "Gross," you groaned as you flushed the toilet, but as soon as you tried to stand, more came up. Your heart was thudding in your chest as you forced yourself to be patient and let your stomach empty itself.
When you finally could, you got to your feet again, removing your glasses to rinse your mouth out and splash water on your face. Then you dried yourself and slid them back on. You eyed the linen closet next to the door in the mirror before turning around slowly. As you strode across the tile floor, Tramp came in to investigate, but you ignored him as you closed the distance to where you thought you might have one last pregnancy test hidden away.
You opened the narrow door and knelt down, and then you started throwing everything from the bottom shelves over your shoulders, frantically searching. You saw the box, and you tore it open. You already knew what to do, because you'd done it so many times before, but your hands were shaking as you removed the test and looked at it on your palm in the foil wrapper.
Tramp whimpered at you as you got to your feet again and made it to the toilet, this time pulling your underwear down as you went. When the wrapper fell away, you took the test, hands shaking as you set it on the edge of the sink vanity when you were done. Then you wiped as you started to panic. Three minutes. You needed to wait for three minutes.
Your phone was simply too far away as you started counting out loud, your voice echoing around your bathroom. It wasn't ready yet. You climbed into the empty bathtub, sitting and wrapping your arms around your knees. And you counted.
You closed your eyes, and you counted. You looked at Tramp, and you counted. You pressed your forehead to your knees, and you counted all the way until you reached one hundred and eighty.
"Three minutes," you whispered, your heart beating so hard, it was making you feel like you might need to throw up again. You climbed out of the tub onto unsteady legs and held your breath as you walked to the vanity. Very carefully, like it was the most precious thing you'd ever touched, you picked up the test. You checked the result before promptly dropping it to the floor.

Troubles Unforeseen
Vox x CollegeStudent!Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: Wowowowow- I did not realize my story would be so well received hahaha, I'm honestly grateful you guys like it so much. Anyways- here's the loooong awaited continuation to the series and I hope you all enjoy this installment as much as you've enjoyed the past ones. Happy reading!
A/N: To say this was looong overdue is a friggin understatement since it's literally just been chilling in my drafts like no one's business hahahaha. I'm posting it now so people can start writing ideas about what to do after Reader dies, but go ahead and feel free to keep posting HCs about Reader still being alive. It's an AU at this point and I'll keep writing about it like one HAHAHAHA!
To say Vox paid more attention to you now was slightly an understatement.
You were both practically connected by the hip digitally.
Even your friend group noticed how much time you'd spent just chatting whoever was on the receiving end of your shenanigans.
Not that they knew what kind of peculiar situation was always on the other side of the screen.
In fact, Vox was aware he probably should've been paying more attention to the meeting he was in-
It just so happens that you interested him more than any typical business ever could.
All the more when you'd told him you were getting ready for a party.
"It's just a birthday celebration Vox, it's not like I'm going to a club or anything."
"If there's any booze try not to get shitfaced, or will you drive yourself there?"
You could only giggle at his worry, taking a glance at your phone as it continued to buzz from his messages.
You clipped on the new earrings you'd bought just a few days ago to go with your outfit.
Even if you had gone shopping with your friends-
You still sent Vox pictures, asking what look he preferred.
He was in the middle of spying on Alastor when you once again swiped up all his attention.
Aaaaaand he actually thought you looked great in all of the outfits.
A warm feeling spread through him upon seeing your cheeky grin and silly poses.
Ah whatever, at this point it was nothing new.
But he did finally end up picking the one which bore a striking resemblance to his color scheme.
You didn't even notice at first when you bought the outfit.
Only when you saw the small desktop companion Vox made for you while doing assignments did you realize the subconscious decision your overlord buddy had made.
You teased him about it for a while too, much to his chagrin.
"I'll be with my friends, you don't have anything to worry about."
"The same friends that caused how we met? Doll, I have every right to be concerned."
Vox had nothing against the chaotic nature of your friends.
After all they always brought out the best-
And the worst-
In you, no matter what you were doing.
Even so, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was very... off.
Like an ominous shadow just looming over his shoulder.
He didn't make any mention of it though, thinking he was just being paranoid.
Besides, he didn't want to rain on your parade.
You'd gone the whole nine yards to pretty yourself up for the party.
He wouldn't want your efforts to be in vain.
Vox felt a twinge of jealousy towards the fact others would be able to admire how nice you were in real time, he only had pictures.
Wait what-
Okay, there was definitely something still wrong with him.
"I might not be as active for a few hours because of the party so go and actually focus on the things you gotta do."
"Are you insinuating that I don't do that already?"
"When you spam memes and talk to me nearly all the time can you blame me for not thinking you're always distracted?"
Vox mumbled cursed under his breath, rolling his eyes and glancing back up to check if the boring meeting was over.
Ugh... were they even halfway done discussing this shit?
"Yeah whatever, enjoy your party dollface. Don't get too hammered."
"Hahaha love you too dumbass, I'll keep you updated."
The overlord glitched slightly reading your reply.
His stomach definitely did a flip when he first saw what you typed.
Vox already knew it was probably just a: "I love you as a really close friend" thing-
But that didn't stop his systems from freaking out about it anyhow.
He decided it would be best to stop thinking about it anyways, placing his phone down and finally placing his attention back on the meeting.
Like it should've been the entire time-
Vox didn't really give a fuck though.
On your end, you were going to be picked up by your friends before you all headed to the party.
You guys decided it would be smarter to carpool so most of you guys could actually drink and unwind.
"Heeeeey bitch! Wow! Your outfit slays!"
You rolled your eyes before climbing into shotgun.
"I had some help picking out the look, any good?"
"(Y/N) you are going to break necks with how fast heads will turn, are you kidding me??"
That just reminded you of something Vox said when you showed him the pictures of your completed outfit.
'They're going to turn their heads so fast it'll give them whiplash! You look stunning darling!'
Vox's knack for petnames sometimes embarrassed you, especially when it sometimes seemed a little more than friendly.
Though- that was probably not the case, he was just being the charming idiot TV telecaster that he was with his sweet talk.
You often caught yourself wondering if he ever meant his words, or if it was just the persona Vox played up.
You partly hoped he meant it, even if you didn't know why.
That was until the not-so-subtle snickering of your friends popped the thought bubble you were in.
"Ooookay, what's so funny?"
"Who are you thinking about~? That digital 'friend' of yours?"
You audibly groaned from the situation your friends were insinuating.
They never really believed that you were just chatting with a friend when you were on the phone with Vox.
Despite the multiple times you'd blatantly mentioned that he really was just that.
A friend, a companion-
He wasn't supposed to be anything more than that right?
A blush was creeping up your neck as your friends continued to prod and tease at you for it, fanning your own face slightly to try and calm down the raging embarrassment.
Of course, it would always be fun and games-
Until it wasn't.
Everything happened so fast.
You were just joking with your friends in one moment-
And now you were coughing up blood in the next.
You remembered your friends screaming, some bright headlights, the brakes screeching then metal crunching.
You couldn't even move.
The entire front of the car had been shoved backwards into the front seats.
Even if the paramedics got here in time, you doubted they could save you.
The coppery tang of blood stained your tongue.
You'd gotten all dolled up for the party too.
It's unfortunate that now you'd never be able to go.
Heh... you probably wouldn't even be able to get drunk now either.
Wait-
Oh shit-
Vox!!
You wanted to reach for your phone but both your arms were fucked up in the crash.
The only thing you could really move was your head.
Even then, darkness was already starting to creep into your vision.
It didn't matter how valiantly you fought to keep your eyes open.
You lost too much blood, by the time the paramedics had arrived-
They announced you dead and took you away in a body bag.
The lower half of you had gotten entirely mangled from the accident that you surviving seemed bleak to begin with.
You thought you were done for when you closed your eyes for the final time.
Only when you opened them again- you were somewhere else entirely.
What...?
The skies were blood red, there was practically fire and murder everywhere you turned-
And oh ew- it even smelled like rotten burning corpses.
Where the fuck were you??
Was this supposed to be hell???
You carefully wandered around, hesitating here and there before stumbling across a large building.
Hazbin Hotel...?
Huh, you had no where else to go.
Might as well give it a shot.

I'll sit with you in the dark
(Wednesday Addams x fem! childhood friend! reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: You first met Wednesday when you were just kids, and eventually became friend with her. Years later, you meet again at Nevermore... Warnings: none (?) (English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there are mistakes or if something doesn't make sense TvT)
Wednesday was upset. Her parents were forcing her to go to a new school. Their old school, Nevermore. She hadn't planned on staying long though, a few days in and she would mysteriously disappear.
"Wednesday, this is Enid Sinclair" principal Weems said
"Howdy roomie!"
The blonde girl tried to hug the ravenette, who took a step back. Physical touch. Disgusting.
"Not a hugger, got it"
"Excuse Wednesday" Morticia started " she's allergic to col-"
She was interrupted by someone bursting through the door.
"Fuck yeah I was right!"
"What did we already told you about swearing, young lady?" principal Weems said "I'm sorry for that Mrs Addams. This is-"
"Y/n L/n."
Hearing Wednesday say your name, your lips curled up into a wild smile.
"So you do remember me uh?"
"How could I not?"
You and Wednesday were childhood friends. You met when you were 5. You were in the same class, but you started talking during one of her birthday parties. The one with the piñata filled up with spiders.
While every other kid ran away, you sat on the floor and played with a spider, letting it climb on you, to everyone's surprise.
"Anyways, I'm not gonna stay long or I'll be in trouble. I just wanted to give you this"
You walked up to her, before mumbling intelligible words. A black dahlia appeared in your hand, which you handed to the ravenette. She looked at it for a second with suspicious eyes.
"You can take it, it won't explode this time. I grew it myself. Just teleported it from my dorm"
She finally took the flower after one more look.
"It seems you have improved dear Y/n" Morticia said
You turned around to face her and Gomez.
"Thanks again for the book you gave me, Mrs Addams. It really helped"
While you talked with her parents, Wednesday's eyes didn't leave the flower you gave her. You remembered it was one of her favorites. You remembered your promise to give one to her when you'd meet again. And, most importantly, you were still wearing that bracelet.
She looked back at you, analyzing how you've changed since the last time she saw you. You were different, back in the days. You were cute. A cute little mouse. But now... She wouldn't say you were cute anymore.
She would rather say beautiful. You looked more like a true witch now. Or at least you had the aura of one.
"I am sorry to interrupt, but Wednesday still has a school to visit." reminded Weems "Miss L/n, don't you have anything to do?"
"Ahh yes yes sorry. I'm glad I could meet you again, Mr and Mrs Addams." you turned to face your friend, still smiling "I'll see you around, Wednesday"
The way you said her name made butterflies spiders grow in the ravenette's stomach. And your smile... That smile she didn't think she could see ever again...
After her new roommate showed her the school, Wednesday came back to her dorm. She was taking off the colorful stuff Enid put on the window when you knocked at the door.
"Want some help?" you asked
"It would be appreciated."
You made your way to the window and took off some of the colorful panels. Enid wouldn't be happy about that, but Wednesday and colors didn't really go together.
"How did you know?"
"Hm?"
"You said you were right. Plus you said you grew the dahlia yourself. So I assume you were talking about my arrival here. Am I wrong?"
"I heard someone new was coming. And that they murdered a student in their old school by putting piranhas in the pool. Couldn't be anyone else than you. Plus I had a feeling we'd meet soon."
"I see."
You put the last panel on the floor, not saying a word, as you knew she preferred silence over small talk.
<><><><> ♡ <><><><>
"Yeah but- if I wanted to do that, how much do you think I'll need?"
"Why would you want to do that in the first place??" Enid asked with disgust
"I say if I wanted to, that's hypothetical. We never know what can happen Enid. Better be prepared"
"In what kind of situation would you need to throw a corpse in an acid bath?"
You waved your hand in the air, like you swept her question away.
"That's not important. I just need to know how much acid I'd need"
"Why don't you ask Wednesday? She sure knows the answer"
"Yeah I know. I just- it's basic murder knowledge.. she will be disappointed I don't know that.."
"Why do you care so much about what she thinks of you? You don't have a crush on her, do you?"
You didn't say anything, looking at your feet in embarrassment. You knew what Wednesday thought about romantic relationships. Pathetic, she would say.
"YOU DO!!"
Enid jumped in excitement, clapping her hands, before shaking you slightly back and forth for a second and hugging you tight.
"Enid- I can't breath- and for fuck's sake please keep your voice low..!"
While you were patting the werewolf's back to calm her down, Wednesday was watching you from afar. Oh how she wanted to rip the blonde's head off at this moment.
She clenched her fist so hard that small drops of blood started to fall onto the ground.
Why was she hugging you like that, her body fully pressed against yours? And most importantly, why weren't you doing anything about that?
You were hers.
You were always hugging Enid or other people. But you never tried to hug her. Not that she'd want to. Of course not.
But, maybe, she wanted to know what your body would feel like. How your lips would taste like.
She never thought she'd ever be romantically attracted to someone. But then she met you again, years after you left with you parents.
Obviously she could just confess to you. But even if she would never admit it, she was scared. Scared that you wouldn't share her feelings. That you would leave her. Again.
She liked being alone. But being alone with you... Now that's what she really wanted. But ask her and she will threaten to skin you alive.
<><><><> ♡ <><><><>
A few days had passed since Wednesday saw Rowan getting killed in the forest. No one believed her, as everyone saw him the day after the attack.
You didn't know why she would lie about that, but you saw him too.
You were thinking about all those events, in your bed, incapable of sleeping, when you heard a knock at your door.
You stood up slowly, half dressed, and opened the door.
"Wednesday..? Wha-"
"I need your help."
"It's 3 am...?"
"I know. May I come in?"
"Uhh... sure"
You step to the side.
"What can I help you with?"
"I need you to go in my mind."
"Wha-"
"Find the memory of the attack. I am not lying, Y/n. Plus you could see what the monster looks like."
"I-" you sighed "Okay, let's do that"
You lit some candles and put them into a circle, leaving space in the middle for you to sit. Fortunately, your roommate wasn't here...
You gestured her to sit in front of you.
"I'll need to hold your hands, if that's okay for you"
She nodded, letting you take her hands in yours. You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath, before entering her mind.
Wow. Her mind was really organized. The memory will be easier to find that way.
You found it pretty quickly, and practically jumped when you saw the monster. God it was ugly. You rewatched the scene a few times, just to be sure Rowan didn't have any chance to survive this.
Having someone looking into her mind was quite strange for Wednesday. She didn't know what to expect before coming, and now that's she was here she didn't know what to think of it.
She could feel where you were looking in her mind. Couldn't explain it, but she felt it. So she was a bit surprised when she felt you looking at what she thought of you.
She didn't let go of your hands though. No. She let you watch whatever you wanted. She wanted you to see what you meant to her. What she would do for you.
You quickly went out of her mind after seeing all of that, trying not to blush and quite ashamed of yourself. Spying on people's thoughts was really not something you approved, but at the moment you just couldn't help it.
"I- I'm sorry I-" you stooped a second "I saw things I wasn't supposed to look at.. I- I saw you were interested in some witchcraft stuff..? What about you go in my mind and look at what you want to know..?"
Oh so you were lying now. Interesting, Wednesday thought.
You weren't aware of the fact that people could feel where you looked in their mind, that's why you lied. Plus you didn't know how she would've reacted if you confronted her directly.
"I only have visions, Y/n. I am not a psychic."
"I know, I'll just project my mind into yours, if you're interested by-"
"Fine."
You blinked twice, surprised by her fast reply, before closing your eyes once again and projecting your mind into her own.
Contrary to Wednesday's mind, yours was a mess. Some thoughts were bigger than others, some were hiding, jumping (?), running away or just lying there like they were dying.
One of the biggest thoughts she could see was your witchcraft knowledge, which wasn't much of a surprise. The other big thought was, to her surprise, her.
Before she could realize it, she was already reviewing memories of you two. But not only that. She saw the moment you realized you fell for her.
On the other hand, you had no idea where she was looking in your mind. As she wasn’t in your mind, but in a projection of your mind, you couldn't feel anything.
Eventually, she came out of your mind, a slight smirk on her face, knowing you wanted her as bad as she wanted you.
She slowly approached you, taking advantage of your still closed eyes, your hands still in hers. Feeling movement, you opened your eyes, just as she sat on your lap.
"Wednesday what are yo-"
"Shh, we've lost enough time, don't you think, Cara Mia?"
You were a blushing mess. She was so close to you your lips almost touched. You could feel her breath on your lips when she murmured:
"Dame un beso, mi amor"
You spoke enough spanish to understand what she wanted, and kissed her within a second. The ravenette cupped your cheeks, lips not leaving yours, as your hands made their way up to her waist.
She pulled away after a moment, staying only inches away from your face, looking directly into your gorgeous e/c eyes.
"I hope you understand that I am not going to bring any light in your life, mi amor”
"I don't need you to light up my world" you smiled "I'll sit with you in the dark."

The Brothers Reacting to You in Sexy Christmas Lingerie
Tumblr media
Brothers x GN! reader
AN: I'll make one for the dateables soon. Anyways enjoy! :)
Warnings: There's no smut, these are just suggestive.
Minors DNI!
Tumblr media
Lucifer
The moment Lucifer enters his study, he sees you sitting on his desk.
He takes note of the skimpy, see-through lingerie that you have on.
The confidence on your face wavers the longer he studies every detail that wraps around your body.
He smirks before making his way to stand in front of you, lifting your chin up so that you can’t shy away from his eyes.
The same eyes that are becoming devoid of the red hues with each passing second.
“Don’t look so nervous, you look wonderful, my dear. What do you say we take this off though, so that I can drag my lips across every inch of your body and appreciate you properly?”
Mammon
You’re sitting on Mammon’s bed dressed up in your newest purchase, unbeknownst to him.
So when he walks in, he slams the door shut as he notices you.
His eyes widen and aren’t leaving an inch of you unseen.
Now his face matches the color of your outfit.
He tries to save face and clears his throat as he walks over to get a closer look.
He runs a hand down your neck, cold rings leaving goosebumps in their wake, brushing the material that plunges down your chest.
“Damn, y’look good. Did ya buy this just for me? Well then, why don’t I settle the debt right now. I’m all yours.”
Leviathan
A grumble escapes Levi as a video call interrupts his gaming session, his irritation subsides when he sees that you’re the one calling.
Picking it up immediately, he’s excited to tell you all about the game, wearing a smile as your face pops on screen.
He goes bright red as his eyes trail down your body and notices you’re wearing very little, revealing so much of your soft skin to him.
He tries to hide his face behind his hands, but can’t help but peak through his fingers to get another look at you.
Something other than his level in the game begins to rise, and he’s feeling incredibly desperate for your touch.
“Y-you’re going to kill me one of these days… Can you come over? I-I really need you right now.”
Satan
Not much phases this man. He will always catch any curve balls you throw at him.
So when he walks into his room to find you kneeling on his bed, he calmly closes the door and admires the view.
The moonlight from the window illuminates your figure, making you look ten times more alluring.
Do not be mistaken though, there is a light pink dusting his cheeks and a ravenous look in his eyes.
He’ll make his way to you, eyeing your curves through the lace while tutting under his breath.
“What am I going to do with you? You’re quite the tease. So maybe I’ll tease you until you’re begging me to take you.”
Asmodeus
Asmo squeals in delight when he sees you.
He’ll rush over to you, hands touching the fabric that cascades down your body, the soft brush of his skin on yours as he admires every detail.
He cannot believe that he’s found a partner that rivals him in attractiveness.
He absolutely adores you and this little surprise, and it’s all for him!
Next time, he would love to go shopping with you though. The possibilities of seeing you try on different sets and fooling around in the changing rooms are endless.
“Oh my~ This looks absolutely stunning on you. Why don’t we take it off? I’d love to see the rest of you better~”
Beelzebub
Beel walks into the kitchen to raid the fridge, but pauses when he sees you sitting on the counter with your lingerie on.
Visibly and audibly gulps, the lack of material leaving nothing to his imagination.
The look you’re giving him isn’t helping matters, it’s only enticing him more.
He comes to stand in front of you hesitantly, unsure if he can touch you or not.
When you nod and give him the go-ahead, his hands land on your thighs, running dangerously close to where you want him most.
“I came into the kitchen to get food. Lucky me, I think I’ve found myself a full course meal. Please, let me get a taste of you.”
Belphegor
Somehow you beat him to the attic room, so when he walks in you’re lying on your stomach on the bed.
Takes a moment to appreciate the lace that runs along the swell of your ass.
Takes another to just appreciate how you’re looking at him, eyes hooded and titillating, yet the pinnacle of innocence gracing your lips.
He shakes his head with a small laugh, walking to the side of the bed.
Belphie crawls on top of you, shifting you to lay on your back. A smirk greeting you as you turn.
“Seeing you in my bed wearing that has stirred something within me. I hope you’re ready because neither one of us is going to be sleeping any time soon.”

Abjuration (Mage!Reader x Bucky Barnes)
A sorcerer!reader helps Bucky relax with their magic. NOTE: Can be read as platonic, and for gender neutral readers as well
Tumblr media
Bucky sighs, pulling you into the safehouse, finally setting down his weapon.
You gulp, and then practically collapse on the bed.
It's basically a one-room shelter. a kitchen, a bed, and a communication center.
Bucky is on mission from the Avengers to protect you, to guide you safely back to the Avengers compound and avoid HYDRA, who would wish to use your magic powers for evil.
But HYDRA has been crafty, keeping in pursuit enough that you haven't been able to magic yourself and Bucky right to the Avengers.
And with them on the tail, Bucky knows he can't get you out to the extraction point.
Bucky quickly finishes sealing up the door and looks over at you. "Not having a great time?"
You groan a little. "It's been rough, but... at least we're safe, right?"
"As safe as I can make us." Bucky sighs. "We'll have to lie low here for a while, but we'll be trying to make it to the extraction point at our first chance, so you better get some rest."
"What about you?" you ask, slightly concerned. "I mean, you're the actual soldier, you should be well rested, right?"
He raises an eyebrow. "I don't know if you're capable of providing a reliable watch - you're wiped from casting those spells to help us get away."
You nod, acknowledging his point. "Still-"
"I don't sleep well anyway." he admits. "It's hard for me to ever really feel safe."
"I can help with that," you brighten. "I think, at least."
He frowns. "What do you mean?"
"I can perform a protection spell on our safehouse here. It may not keep everything out, but it'll provide enough of a barrier to defend against most things, and will alert us quickly if something is coming."
Without waiting for an answer, you begin moving, summoning your power from the wellspring inside you. Your magic always is improved when you're helping someone you care for, and Bucky has become a good friend these past few weeks on the run.
You haven't been anywhere secluded or long-term enough to justify expending your magic reserves on a protection spell, so this is the first Bucky's seen.
It takes a good twenty minutes to perform the ritual, gathering energy and focusing it, and Bucky arranges the gear and starts preparing some of the MREs in the kitchen stock, though he occasionally glances back over at you as you walk the perimeter of the safehouse, trying to touch every wall.
About halfway around, light blooms from your fingers, a soft amber color spreading outward, twinkling golden lights of concentrated power studding the ephemeral nebula of amber light spreading now over the ceiling.
Bucky watches in awe, field rations forgotten as you pull the rudimentary bed away from the wall and begin drawing runes in a haphazard circle, each glowing with light and floating a little off the floor around the bed.
"That'll be for when we sleep." you smile. "I'll activate it from the inside to give us some extra protection."
"Same bed?" Bucky finally manages to say, tearing his eyes away from the magic as the walls fade back to normal, the light now faint, now gone.
"If it's not a problem. That way we can both fit in the circle and you can get some sleep."
He nods, then chuckles. "You ever slept on a safehouse bed? Good luck sleeping."
You laugh and walk over to him to see about eating.
And later, Bucky hesitantly takes off his tactical gear and armor - he claims it helps him feel more relaxed, but it's not great for sleeping in.
He sits on the bed, cross-legged and alert, watching as you gently lean over the side and touch the rune circle. It blazes with power and sends light cascading upwards in diaphanous sheets in soft colors, forming a dome of protection before it coalesces into little spheres of drifting light, like night lights, like tiny stars gently watching over you both.
"I hope you feel a bit safer." you say softly.
"I do. The magic... I feel like it's strong. And... like it's on my side." Bucky says, leaning back to watch the lights drift as you tuck yourself under the blankets.
"Good night, Bucky."
"Good night, Y/N." Bucky whispers back. It's only after he hears your breathing change to that of unconsciousness that he slides his body downward, now lying down. And glancing at the lights, he truly does feel, if not safe, then protected.
He lets his eyes fall closed, and without trouble, drifts into sleep.

If Your Love is in Trouble (Part One)
Tumblr media
"If you're asking yourself, "How do you know?" Then that's your answer" Lana Del Rey, Margaret
Playlist here.
Authors Note: Yes, I am starting another series. Maybe I'll actually finish this one. This was born after playing Spider-Man 2, and I have no explanation for it, I just really wanted an excuse to write this. I know many people aren't into love triangles and that's cool. I still hope you guys read and enjoy because it will predominantly be Peter/Reader.
Pairing: Peter Parker x Fem!Reader x Harry Osborn
Content Warning: Slight mentions of suicidal ideation, couple swear words, pretty tame for the most part right now. Few mentions of a old hair color reader had.
Please reblog, and throw a comment in if you'd like!
Tumblr media
“I can’t believe he’s really gone.” Peter muttered as he sat crisscrossed on the pillows scattered on his bedroom floor turning his best friend's game boy over in his hands. (Y/N) frowned at her friend, her cheeks stained red and swollen from crying, the insides of her cheeks sore from being bitten.
“I know..it’s not fair.”
She rested her head on Peter’s shoulder, her arms wrapping around his torso.
“Norman is fucking evil.” Peter mumbled out, a glance at his open door making sure May didn’t hear the swear fall from his lips. “..and a terrible father, he never deserved to have Harry. But that didn’t mean he had to ship him off. He could have lived here, May and Ben would have taken him in. That’s like their whole thing!”
(Y/N) listened, she knew the hurt Peter was feeling, but she also knew he knew how Harry was feeling. The three of them had been inseparable since they were six, did everything together and went everywhere. But now Harry has gone to some fancy boarding school in the English countryside, not knowing when they’d ever see him again.
“We still have each other.”
Peter laughed sadly, his hand engulfing hers a childlike smile on his face the blue color on his braces catching her eye. “Yeah. And I’m not letting you go anywhere.” Peter wrapped his arm around her neck, pulling her down ruffling her hair. (Y/N) screamed out, thrashing around laughing, trying to fight Peter off.
“Okay you two, okay. Dinner is ready c’mon.” Ben says from Peter’s doorway looking at the middle schoolers. Peter let go of the girl, holding his hand out for her to take helping her up. Ben stood back as the two bursted out of the door, racing one another down the stairs into the warmth of the kitchen. The smell of May’s cooking filling the homey kitchen, a news anchor talking excitedly on the small TV on the counter.
Though the kitchen hadn’t changed in those seven years it was no longer warm, it no longer felt like a second home. The same new anchor talked on the TV, his voice no longer excited but now aged and filled with professionalism. (Y/N) looked around the once familiar area, now feeling like a vampire who’d crossed the threshold uninvited. But she had been invited, May stood in front of her two mismatching coffee cups in hand.
“Take off your coat for a while.”
She coaxed, motioning at the spring jacket on her shoulders. (Y/N) smiled at May’s motherly nature, she hadn’t changed a bit since the last time she’d seen her. Her head had a few more grays on it, and she was wearing her reading glasses more but other than physical she was the same old May.
“I’m so glad I caught you walking, I was gonna call and have these sent to you but..I’ve been wanting to see you anyways.”
“I know May, I’ve missed you. Sorry, I just..I've been..so busy.”
May squinted her eyes, her crows feet becoming prominent. It was never an easy task to lie to May, she saw through everything.
“I bet.” But, she always let the lie continue. May sat at the bar stool, the small photo book in hand as she opened it. (Y/N) settled next to her drinking out of the homemade Spider-Man cup, looking at the first set of photos. Three kids smiled in front of a carousel of horses, two boys and a girl standing in the middle. (Y/N) smiled, her mind flashing to the blonde boy in the photo, thinking about the last time they’d talk. Her eyes followed their muscle memory and looked at the scrawny brunette boy in the photo, his head resting on hers as he held up a peace sign.
“Ben and I basically had to drag you three out of that park when that silly little carousel popped up. It was your favorite part.”
“We used to spend hours there. I used to steal money out of my dad’s wallet to get us rides for the whole week.”
May laughed, nodding her head. (Y/N) smiled at the memory of her thumb rubbing over the slightly aged photo, it felt like her heart shook with grief for what they once were.
“Now this..this is my favorite.”
May held up a photo of two ghosts.
One clad in an awkward fitting sports coat and slacks, the other in a deep blue dress and poorly dyed red hair. In Peter’s scratchy handwriting ‘Junior year winter formal’ was written on the back. (Y/N) swallowed harshly, but smiled at the image.
“You two looked so cute. Your red hair really was something.”
“Mhm, I forgot the last time you saw me I was still a redhead!” (Y/N) hummed softly, sliding the photo back into its slot in the photo album. May hummed, putting her hand against her cheek.
“When was the last time?”
“It was ..I dunno, senior year we just got on christmas break, I had come by because I hadn’t heard from Peter in a couple weeks and I was worried. He’d gone upstate with Gwen’s family, and you gave me that knitted scarf and beanie set.”
“Oh that’s right!” May smiled, grabbing onto (Y/N)’s forearm. “Have you two talked at all?”
(Y/N) laughed awkwardly, her hand coming up to push her hair out of her face. She shook her head rapidly. “No, I'm pretty much on the outskirts of his life now. I think we both go out of the way to avoid one another.”
May shook her head, her nephew's behavior never failing to amaze her. “Whatever happened, have you two tried to fix it?”
“I dunno May, we just…grew apart. He had Gwen, photography and science club…and his other extra activities.” (Y/N) shrugged her shoulders, her hand patting May’s that rested on her forearm. “We grew up I guess.”
May looked at her and it felt like she saw right through her, saw her heart and how Peter had smashed it into a million pieces. (Y/N) pulled her arm gently from May grabbing the coffee cup and taking a long sip. “Oh my god! Is this you and Ben?” It was a quick and easy subject change that May would allow.
The front door opened and May turned her head. “Peter, why don’t you come into the kitchen? I have something I want to show you. I finally pulled those photos down from the attic!”
(Y/N) looked around the kitchen like an animal being caged in, she looked for a quick escape but she could never move that quietly. So she settled with tucking her face away behind May’s figure and maybe if she willed enough she’d turn invisible.
Peter's footsteps turned into a quick jog throughout the house. “May why would you..I told you I’d..” Suddenly all sound stopped. Time felt like it’d stopped with it.
Peter had grown a couple inches since the last time they’d seen one another, she thought he’d looked taller in his birthday post on instagram but maybe she’d just started forgetting what he looked like. He’d finally cut his hair, and started dressing in more fitting clothes. He had become a full adult in the time they’d been apart, it felt like just yesterday they were eighteen year olds hanging out at the skatepark.
“Hey.” He spoke softly, shock in his voice.
“I caught her walking home- thought she’d like a trip down memory lane.”
“Hey Pete.” (Y/N) spoke finally, her eyes following him as he walked to the fridge grabbing out the creamer and making his own cup of coffee. May had opened her mouth to speak before being cut off by the house phone. May grabbed (Y/N)’s shoulder as she stood.
“I’ll be right back.”
Silence, that was once comfortable and knowing, filled the room awkwardly. (Y/N)’s eyes locked to Peter’s back watching his movements.
“Happy belated birthday.”
Peter turned to look at her after the words left his mouth. She could laugh, at least he remembered one thing.
“Yeah, yeah you too. We’re twenty, pretty odd huh?’
“Yeah..I feel like I’ve lived six times that.”
(Y/N) nodded awkwardly, dropping her eyes from him and looking at the winter formal photo in her hands. Her phone vibrating from the counter, both of their eyes immediately looking at it.
‘Harry - Hey, sorry we got cut short last night’
‘Harry - I’m actually grabbing a flight right now, I should be there tomorrow afternoon.’
She clicked the power button flipping it over. “How’s huh Gwen?”
Peter nodded and leaned on the counter, his finger tapping a couple of the scattered photos. “Uh..well. Good, I think. We..broke up.” He spoke quickly, rolling his hand in a circle motion as he spoke. He looked up at her, for what felt like the first time in forever. She nodded, a frown on her lips.
“I’m..really sorry to hear that Pete. I thought for sure you guys would..be together forever.”
“Yeah me too..” He slumped his shoulders and shook his head. “Sometimes things just don’t work out.”
“Tell me about it.” She laughs, it came out more bitter than she intended. Peter nodded, his lips pulling down at the notion. Maybe he knew he owed her a slew of apologies, maybe he was oblivious. She’d rather he be the latter. Clearing her throat she slipped out of the bar stool, grabbing her jacket off the back of the chair.
“I should go. I have an assignment due at six I should get started on.”
“Oh yeah, yeah.” Peter sniffled, his thumb rubbing against his nose. He pressed his fists into the countertop, his fingers popping as he did so. “Let me walk you home.” He offered up, rushing to get his coat from the living room. (Y/N) panicked, her mind moving at a million miles a second. Her brain refuses to process any type of response other than a small yes that she doesn’t even think he heard.
Taking the couple seconds alone she had she messaged Harry back: ‘So excited to see you! Miss your face :)’
“Ready?” Peter asked, he returned with a denim jacket on his shoulders, hands shoved into his pockets. (Y/N) pocketed her phone nodding at him, Peter reached around her holding the back door open for her as they stepped out into the slight chill of the spring weather. The two rounded the side of the house heading down the block. Peter fell into his previous routine, he always took the side of the sidewalk closest to the road, keeping (Y/N) on his inside. She smiled at him, dropping her gaze to her feet.
“I’ve been a terrible friend.”
It wasn’t what she expected to fill the silence. Her mouth fell open, before closing again quickly trying to think of a response.
“I like..totally left you hanging and I just..I’m really sorry that was so fucked up. There was just.” Peters fumbling through his words, it’s not an apology, but she’ll take it.
“Hey Pete, it’s all good. We were kids, and hey what can you do it happened. I played a part in it too. We had a lot going on.”
“You were always trying to excuse my bad behavior, I was a bad friend. I can admit that now, I should have admitted that two years ago.”
(Y/N) shakes her head, a laugh falling out of her lips, her hand coming up to wave it off.
“We were hormonal teenagers Peter, and that got in the way. I’m not mad, I missed you a lot. But maybe it was what we needed to grow.”
“I know but I should have said something. I left you on a fucking rooftop, I..”
“I love you Peter, and I just need to know if you love me.” She screamed over the flow of the traffic below them. Sirens sounding off in the background felt like she was being laughed at by everyone. Peter’s face was numb, filled with shock as he held his mask in one hand, his bruised eyes searching her face. “I’m so confused. I don’t know what to think.”
“I don’t..I don’t know. I dunno, either.”
He shook his head, the sound of the city around him felt like an icepick being stabbed into the back of skull. (Y/N) took a step back, wind blowing against her face whipping the dyed red hair around across her face. She turned and looked over the edge, before looking at him. Jumping from the 20th something floor felt like a better option than hearing whatever Peter had to say.
“I just..is there a chance or is this all for..nothing? Am I holding out for nothing?”
The sirens got louder, and Peter looked between the red head and the flashing sirens below them.
“I’m sorry, we can talk later!” Peter swore as he slid the mask on his face, in a flash he’d thrown
himself over the side of the building a flash of red swinging off into the sky.
The memory crawled into the forefront of her mind and for once it didn’t make her want to claw herself out of her skin. Peter’s hand had creeped out of his jacket pocket and into hers, his hand interlocking with hers. (Y/N)’s lips pulled down in a bittersweet smile, her thumb rubbing across his. For a moment she’s convinced herself nothing changed, for a moment she’s in school sneaking kisses with Peter in the darkroom of the photography club. Waiting for him by his locker ready to trade lunches for the day with silly notes written on the inside.
“It hasn’t changed a bit.”
Peter laughed as they reached the front stoop of her home, his hand still in hers. It was comforting, both having a sneaking feeling of home that they hadn’t felt in almost two years. However, the moment died quickly. Peter let go of her hand, stepping in front of her slightly as he looked around. (Y/N) furrowed her brow as she opened her mouth to talk, the scrapping of a chair drew her attention to the corner of the porch, a figure standing up.
“Mhm that’s what I said. I gotta say though I don’t remember the glass in the window being pink”
The deep voice drew the friend's head towards the sound, (Y/N)’s jaw dropping as she grabbed a tense Peter’s shoulder.
“Harry!”
They both yelled. The sandy blond started down the steps, (Y/N) took off meeting him half way engulfing him in a hug. Peter stood back in shock, looking at his lost friend as if a ghost had just crawled out of its grave in front of him. A small vibration of alert hanging in the back of his skull as the two embrace.

↳Osamu Dazai
"Osamu! I got you a present!"
Your Boyfriend looked up at you from his book, face brightening up as he saw the big red box in your hands. You were clearly struggling to hold it up, so he assumed there was something big and heavy inside. Not that he cared about that though; he was always delighted by the gesture, then the present itself.
"Awww baby! You didn't have t- What the hell?!!"
You let out an innocent chuckle, raising the small puppy you took out of the box as you took a step closer to Dazai who was staring at the poor animal with pure disgust and panic in his widened eyes.
"Oh c'mon 'Samu! Look at him! Isn't he the cutest? Look at how fluffy he is! Wanna give this little guy a hug?" "No! I want you to get this- this evil beast out of here!"
"Beast? Oh c'mon don't be like that big guy! You've always wanted a dog haven't you? Isn't that why you always refer to Chuuya as your dog?" "No? I call him that because I hate dogs and I hate him!"
The sight of Dazai actually being terrified was something so rare and oh, so satisfying. You wish you were recording this and you knew that Kunikida would thank you later on for it.
The dog took his tongue out, causing the bandaged man to let out a snort out of nausea, taking steps rearward to be as distant as he could be with his eternal enemy. What he didn't expect was feeling the wall behind him as his back stuck to it, letting him know he had nowhere else to run to.
"Osamu? Don't you wanna hug him? I went all the way to the pet store to get him for you! You're breaking my heart acting like this! If you don't hug him yourself, then I guess I'll have no choice but to throw him on you" You shrugged your shoulders, trying to hide the smug look on your face; but it was hard because of your huge evil smile.
"Y/n?" "Yes?" "If you do that I'll scream"
Well, who wouldn't want to hear the great Osamu Dazai screaming?
↳Fyodor Dostoevsky
"Dos-kun Dos-kun! Look at what I found at the store!" Nikolai smiled as he placed the small toy mouse on the floor, pointing at it with both of his hands.
"Ta da! See? It's you! Even his skin has the same color as your hair!"
"Is that so?" Fyodor stared at the toy with a blank expression, then looked back to his co-worker with his eyebrows raised. "And how much did this thing cost you?"
"Doesn't matter! Was worse every penny! Look! It can move around too!"
Nikolai bent to wind the toy up, clapping his hands together with joy as it started roving around on the floor, making annoying noises.
"Look! Dos-kun is running away! Dos-kun is speeding up! Awww Dos-kun is moving toward Y/n-"
Bam!
A big hammer landed on the toy mouse, causing it to break apart, pieces scattering on the floor in front of your feet. Both men gasped at your sudden arrival, taken aback by what you just did.
"Wha-" "Oh I'm sorry! Was it yours Nikolai?" You smiled with fake shame as you placed a hand on your mouth. "Oops! Sorry! It's just that... I hate rats! I loath them so much! I can't stand any form of them, not even the artificial ones! I-"
Wizzzzz!
Bam! Bam!
You chuckled while pressing the hammer in your hand, making a gesture to look like a pro. "That should be enough to devastate it. Anyway~ Sorry for that Nikolai. I'll pay you its price though! Just send me the number!"
The men watched you walking away with widened eyes, and one of them put his hand on the other one's shoulder. "Dos-kun?" "...Yes?" "You should sleep with your eyes open at night"
↳Nikolai Gogol
"Kolya~? Where are you~?"
Nikolai's heart was filled with happiness when he heard your voice coming from behind. He turned around and opened his arms to greet you by giving you a tight hug, but immediately withdrew because it was dangerous, due to the scissor you were holding in your hand.
"Dove...? What is that thing doing in your hand?"
"Oh, this?" The innocent smile on your face was hard not to fall for, but somehow it made him feel terror instead of adoration. "I'm going to cut your hair for you! I just saw a video on youtube about haircuts, and one of them looked very nice in the end. I wish I could do it on my own hair, but I cant do it properly even with a mirror, and you have the nicest hair, So here I am!" You winked at him while moving the scissor in the air. "C'mon Kolya! Let's go to the bath room! Promise I'll be gentle~ Promise I'll make you look good in the end~ So, let me cut that pretty hair of yours!"
"Like... How long?" His expression had changed from cheerful to reserved, with hints of fear in his eyes; and this made you feel like you were on cloud nine, since you were the one who always got teased by him. "I'll cut it short baby, very short! Like any other guy's hair style these days! And I wanna keep your beautiful braid too! Maybe we can even sell it! I heard they pay well for fluffy long hair and make wigs out of them!"
"Is that so?" "Yes. That is it"
Nikolai smiled, took one last look at your hand holding the scissor, and then ran for his life.
"Hey- Nikolai where are you going! Come back! I wanna cut your hair!" "Get away from me you crazy woman! I won't ever let you touch my precious hair again!"
Of course he was, since he couldn't get a day without you running your fingers through his hair, but you didn't need to know that for now.
↳Ranpo Adogawa
You smiled at the sight of your boyfriend enjoying himself, tasting the tray full of macaroons you made for him. It made your heart drop at how he closed his eyes every time he took a bite from the pastry, licking his lips afterwards as he stuffed his hand with another one. You hadn't even tasted them, brought them to him to brighten his mood which was ruined due to not having any interesting cases to solve today. You knew he had a sweet tooth, and you knew just the perfect way to cheer him up.
"Do you like them?" You placed a hand under your chin and watched him picking another one, leaving just one last heart shaped macaroon on the tray.
"Mhm! They taste really good! Almost as good as the one I bought from the bakery last week!" "I'm glad you like them then"
He smiled endearingly back at you, which made you feel butterflies in your stomach. You were overwhelmed with how cute he looked at the moment, and how proud he was at his talented girlfriend. Maybe it was the reason why you became stupid enough to think you can have the last macaroon, as you reached to grab it.
Smash!
Suddenly both of you froze, him looking at his hand, and you looking at your hand which was decorated with his fingerprints, with your eyes widened.
He... just slapped your hand away?
After all you've done for him? Really? So he can't even give up on one stupid macaroon either?
Ungrateful little shit.
Looking around while sulking, you're eyes was suddenly met with the perfect person, and the perfect idea popped into your head.
"Fukuzawa-san! Please come here for a bit!"
Ranpo immediately saw through your evil plan and tried to snatch the macaroon from the tray, but it was too late; Fukuzawa was walking toward you, with his eyes fixated on the pastry.
Ranpo felt like he wanted to die.
"I made these macaroons and Ranpo enjoyed them so much! He was so impressed with my cooking skills that he suggested I should bring some to you! As you can see, he couldn't hold himself back from eating them, so there's just one left. But he really wants you to enjoy it as well because you were having a really busy schedule these days!"
Fukuzawa observed the macaroon before looking at the detective. "Is that true Ranpo?"
Well, how could he say no? When he looked so delighted by the lie fact that he cared about him?
"Yes... I... Yes..."
"Well then, I won't turn your offer down."
When he put the macaroon in his mouth, you could clearly see Ranpo's hands shaking. You watched the president going to his office after thanking you, and chuckled evilly.
"Yeah, that's what you get for treasuring sweets more than m- Oh my god Ranpo are you actually crying?"
Well he was going to, until you make him dozens of macaroons to make up for your evil doings.
↳Chuuya Nakahara
You stood in front of your boyfriend as you proudly presented the little wine bottles filled with roses. He knew that he was supposed to praise you, call you a genius with so much passion about art and shit, but he just couldn't. All he could care about was how the bottles were not carrying wine instead of those stupid flowers.
"Babe...?" "Yes honey?" "They look... really nice... but-" "I know right? We can put them in the balcony! I'm sure it would look amazing!" "Right... but... What happened to the wine?"
"What?" You looked at him pretending to be dumbfounded, feeling a teeny tiny bit guilty from how you were messing with him. The wine was all in a barrel hidden in the closet, and you could cheer him up by showing it to him afterwards; so why not have a little fun now?
"The wine, babe" He was trying hard, Really hard to keep his cool; and it was hard, Really hard. "The bottles were filled with wine before I head off to work. They- They were really old- they were expensive- They were- I- Where is the wine Y/n?"
"Oh the wine you mean? Well I had to empty the bottles to be able to use them, so..." "You threw them away?" He cut you off as he prayed to god the answer won't be yes, but...
"Yes baby. I threw them away to fill them with red roses. Intelligent, right?"
Yes. You were very intelligent, since you found the perfect way to give the strongest ability user a heart attack.
"I- You- What the- Why- I need a dri- No, I need a smoke" He gripped his cheek as he tried not to snap out, going to the bloody balcony as he left you with the satisfaction of being able to successfully prank him.

AHHHHH CONGRATS ON 300! I know about 3 or 4 songs from your playlist and I, at first, was stuck between where my rosemary goes (i have suddenly blankets the first part of the title my dad would be unimpressed haha!) and my girl, but then! IN THE DEPTHS! I FOUND IT! Can't Take My Eyes Off You nd I'm going to ask for Rex or Fives! Whichever one works the best when you start writing it <3 @eternal-transcience
I'm gonna go with Rex because someone also requested Fives with this song (I'll tag you in it). You get the Gloria ver. and other can have Frankie Valli.
Warnings: Ahsoka and Jesse are a warning. Rex has a major crush on you. Ritzy Amidala Gala (hey that rhymes)
Can't Take My Eyes Off You (Rex x Fem!Reader)
Music sparkled through the air as Senators and military officers milled around the room, sharing war stories and talking politics.
One man stood out to you.
Captain Rex was dressed in a neat set of gray dress uniforms, stalking around the edge of the crowded room as if looking for someone. You nearly choked on your drink because maker, he'd never looked so put together before. You'd always found him attractive, even when you became friends, but damn, this was new.
Your heart pounded when he locked eyes on you. You could swear that his jaw fell open, but your thoughts were interrupted by someone speaking next to you.
Ahsoka called your name for a third time, waving an orange hand in front of your face. You snapped out of your trance and cleared your throat.
"Commander 'Soka! You look amazing!" You gasped. She wore a sparkling maroon dress, similar to the color of her Jedi clothing.
The togruta frowned and tilted her head to the side. "So do you." She narrowed her eyes suspiciously and followed where you'd been staring before they blew wide and she gasped.
"Oh force...you like him!"
"Be quiet!" You hissed, almost clapping a hand over her mouth. "Yes. No! Well…maybe?”
A terrifyingly mischievous smile crossed her face and she bounded off into the crowd. You knew she wouldn't do something to get you in trouble, but you didn't like where this was going.
-
A little while later you heard voices behind you, so you turned only to find Jesse practically hauling Rex towards the outdoor balcony and Ahsoka making a beeline for you.
You gave the commander an accusatory look, but she grabbed your arm anyways, dragging you around the swarm of people until you were on the same balcony.
"Good luck!" She whispered, then shoved you outside and shut the door. Dumbfounded you looked to see Rex standing in the corner.
“Sorry, about…that.” You said, turning to leave.
He caught your hand.
“Don’t go.” Rex murmured. “You…you look beautiful.”
You could feel heat rising to your cheeks.
“You look quite nice yourself.” You countered.
It was his turn to blush. “Thanks. Would you, ah, like to dance?”
You smiled. “Yeah.”
He placed a hand on your waist and took one of yours in his other, then swayed to the gentle melody flowing outside from the gala.
“I guess Jesse and Ahsoka wanted to play matchmaker tonight.” You blurted, unable to stop yourself.
Something, you couldn’t tell what, flickered on his face.
“I suppose it’s pretty unethical for…”
“—a communications officer to fall in love with her captain?” You finished.
“Yeah.” He sighed. “It doesn’t make it wrong, though.”
Hope swelled in your chest as he tilted his head forward. You hadn’t realized how close your lips were until the moment.
“Then why don’t we make it right?” You whispered right as his lips met yours.
The kiss wasn’t rough or needy. It was tender and slow; driven only by love. His arms tightened around you and pulled you closer. Butterflies swirled in your stomach.
A blissful smile graced his features when you pulled away.
“Do you think anyone would miss us if we continued this elsewhere?” You asked.
He took your hand once again as his smile grew.
“Lead the way, beautiful.”

Hiii could u possibly write something about a little sister reader with sam and Dean? Maybe reader graduated highschool and the brothers are just so proud. When they called the readers name they screamed the loudest
Warnings : none, except if you're scared of pure fluff. And being lifted in the air by a loving father figure.
A/N : We're going to call this character Lily, alright ? We can't be your naming her all the time. Also can we talk about this perfect gif ?

"Come on, it's our turn."
With trembling feet, you stood up from your seat and followed your friend over to the stand, along with your other classmates, where stood 5 of your teachers as well as the director of your school.
You glanced over at the crowd, taking in the smiles and the claps of your best friends. And the sudden frantic claps of your idiot brothers. You would gasp, but you were standing in front of hundreds of people. And even though you could not control the sudden white wash that flooded your face, you tried your best to keep looking normal and collected.
"Lily Winchester."
Once it was your turn, your name erupted through the speakers. And sudden shouts of happiness filled the space.
"GO LILLYYY"
"WOO"
Oh my god....You knew this was going to happen...Of course they wouldn't listen to you.
As your face reddenned a deeper color, you quickened your pace walking down the stand, pursing your lips as to not spit out the most forbidden words at your joyfull looking brothers.
"You..idiots had to embar-"
Your scolding was interrupted by a sudden embrace, and you found yourself watching people fly by as you were swinging in the air.
"You did it, you annoying little monkey."
A set of lips jabbed your cheek before you're fully let go. And you couldn't stop yourself from smiling. But you still rolled your eyes at him.
"Whatever."
With a deep breath in, you turned around to take in the scene, watching as applause filled the room once again. Good energy roamed around. Specifically around y-
A tap on your shoulder snapped you back to life. You turned around to find yourself, yet again embraced tightly.
"I'm so proud of you, sweetheart. You did it." Sam whispered in your ear. And you kissed his neck in response, wrapping your arms around his back.
As flashbacks of the past few months rushed back, your fingers reflexively gripped Sam's back tighter. It's been hard. Really hard, on all of you, having to stay in the same place while being enemies with a lot of people around.
Sam and Dean having to leave you multiple times to go on weekly trips.
And most importantly, being a hunter/apprentice who had to wake up at 7am to get ready for school, and go home as late as 3am after a hunt.
Yeah. It's been hard.
You pulled away from Sam, flashing him a reassuring smile as you noticed a change in his own mood.
"Alright. Let's go home now."
"Uh..." You spun around, your eyes pivoting from Sam to Dean and then once again to Sam.
You were supposed to go out with your friends. How-why would he suddenly change his mind ?You pleadingly frowned your eyebrows, causing a chuckle to escape Sam's lips.
"He's just playing with you, sweetheart." Your shoulders slouched. Go."
Your shoulders slouched forward in annoyance.
He always gets you.
"Alright, i'll see you later, Sammy."
The latter chuckled lightly. "Have fuun."
As you turned on your heels, you glanced back over your shoulder, flashing Dean an eye-squinting dramatic glare.
"Home by 11, kid."

Is there a remedy agaisnt one's own cringy endings ? Not sure. Anyways, hope yall enjoy reading this as much as i enjoyed writing it. Xoxo ❤️❤️❤️⚘️⚘️⚘️

Diavolo was, in fact, not scary. Just... reeaally loud. I covered my ears as his laugh boomed for the 100th time since he arrived. Lucifer was trying to explain everything despite Diavolo's intrigue at my "current state"... whatever that was.
After a few more minutes of this going on, his face finally got serious.
"As amusing as this is, cursed books are meant to be in a separate room in the library. Very few have a key. I'll have to figure out who's negligence caused this..." He patted Lucifer's shoulder and smiled. "I'll trust they will remain safe in your care?"
"My Lord," Barbatos, who I was introduced to earlier, cut in. "Is it wise to let them continue attending RAD in this state? A grown human is one thing, but a child is another. Not even mentioning the subject matter is well above their mental capacity right now."
Diavolo stopped in thought. The brothers seemed to wait anxiously for his verdict. I looked around in confusion, hoping anyone would would give an explanation. It quickly became clear this conversation was 𝘈𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘦 rather than 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦.
I played with the tassels on my clothes while Diavolo motioned Levi over. Quietly listening but not fully interested in the adult conversation.
"Leviathan, there are days you take online classes rather than attend, correct? Is there anyway we could set that up with the elementary level classes as well?"
Levi nodded and glanced over to me. "I mean, that's simple. Will their grades still affect them though? I mean, with the curse in effect we won't know how they'll do."
Diavolo pondered this. "Slack will definitely be alloted for their mental age right now but I read that structure is essential in human children. More so than Demon Younglings."
With that, Lucifer began assigning tasks to each of his brothers. I felt myself lifted into the air and looked behind me to see who it was.
"Bee!" I grinned and hugged him tight, kicking my feet lightly. His twin moved behind him and tapped my nose.
"Looks like we got babysitting duty, Beel." Beelzebub nodded at his brother's words.
I heard Asmo shriek for them to wait as the duo carried me up the stairs.
"I need their measurements. Lucifer's sending me shopping for clothes. You can't possibly expect them to stay in that uniform the whole time. " he scoffed, holding my arm out next to some measuring tape.
"Already? I mean, we'll likely break the curse soon. Is a shopping spree really necessary?" Belphie rolled an eye, receiving a glare from the queen of fashion himself.
Besides the dirty look, Asmo ignored him and began fussing over me. Beel stubbornly refused to put me down, making the whole process ten times harder. It was all too much.
Asmo finally finished his task after a few agonizing moments of being measured and quizzed on my favorite colors. I squirmed in Beel's hold to be let down.
"Bee, down please..." I asked, finally being released. Once we got to the top of the stairs, I took off as fast as my legs can carry me. Finally I could explore!
"No ya don't." Belphie grabbed my arm, keeping me next to the two.
"No faiiiir," I whined. He flicked the back of my head playfully, causing me to give him the biggest meanie look I could muster.
"This place is big. You could get lost."
Beel nodded in agreement and knelt down to my level. "We can give you a tour, but you gotta at least stay in the same room as us. No running off until you get a feel for this place."
I grinned and wiggled my way out of Belphie's grasp. "I won't! I promise!"
The tour was fun, but the twins had a way of hovering over me that soured my mood. My every step was directed as if I'd get hurt if their eyes were off of me for a single second.
"There's a lot of stairs here? Think you can make it?" Beel asked, offering to carry me. I leaned over and looked up the winding staircase before pointing up.
"Where we going?"
"Up there's the attic. It's where we... er, Beel and I usually hang out." Belphie chimed in. "Last stop on the tour, then we'll show you your room."
I nodded and reached up to be carried by Beel. Stairs are hard.
The attic looked like the coziest room ever. My eyes flicked around the room before landing on the massive-
"PILLOW FORT!" I shrieked, kicking my legs til Bee put me down. I sprinted towards it and flopped down onto the pillow fort bed. I feel a weight on the mattress and look up, grinning at the twins.
"You like it?"
"Mhm!" I nodded eagerly. Belphie rested his hand on top of my head, holding the other behind his back.
I peered around him curiously before leaning back due to a soft object placed over my face. My expression made the two laugh as it took me a moment to realize what happened.
In Belphie's hand was a fluffy stuffed bear, with purple fur and galaxy ears.
"You wanna borrow this?"
I nodded eagerly and reached out for it. Belphie gave a shit eating grin and held it above my head.
"Hmmm..." He contemplated in mock thought. "Still not sure if you should."
Frustrated at the object of my desire being held up too high, my eyes began to well up, and I gave the biggest pleading look I could muster. While Belphie wasn't as easily swayed from his teasing attitude, Beel certainly was.
He reached up and took it from his twin. "Just let them have it. No need to taunt them."
Belphie rolled his eyes and flopped back onto a pile of pillows with a yawn. "Alright, Beel. Ya softie."
I hugged the plush tightly, happy with the first toy I've seen in this big house. Beel smiled at me after looking away from his brother.
"You know, I got that for Belphie but I don't think he ever gave it a name..."
Belphie, with his eyes closed, let out a "nope" popping the "p".
"So do you want do name it?"
I looked at the bear in deep thought. This was a very important job of the highest honor.
Taking a deep breath, I made my proclamation. "His name is Bloo!"
I heard a snort from Belphie but couldn't tell if it was an asleep or awake noise. Beel seemed to approve, though, much to my happiness.
"It's fitting." He leaned over to shake Belphie, who was now letting out quiet snores. "We should probably go show them their room."
Belphie huffed and turned over in a stubborn manner. I scooted closer and poked his cheek.
"Wake uuuppp! It's not bedtime!" I said before glancing at the window. Just then, did I realize how dark it was outside. "Wait, is it?"
Beel took a moment to sort through why I was confused. He seemed to have realized as he took my hand and guided me to the window. "Nope. It's not night yet. It's just always dark here."
I blinked in confusion. Always dark? Sounds scary.
"It gets darker, though later on."
"Darker? But it's already nighttime!" I struggled to wrap my head around what he was saying. How is there a place with no daytime? It sounded silly.
He cracked a smile and scratched his head, seemingly wondering about something.
"Don't laugh!" I huffed. Now he was just being a meanie by teasing me.
"...He's not lying." A new voice sounded behind me. I turned around to see Lucifer in the doorway. "I figured you two would bring them here."
"Don't make fun of me toooo" I whined, upset he was joining in on the joke.
"I'm not." he assured, kneeling next to me. "I guess it'll be harder to walk you through it this way."
He pinched the bridge of his nose in concentration. "The place we live in doesn't have a sun. I guess only remembering the human wor-"
He stopped himself short and scanned my face with his eyes. "I mean, where you come from has a sun and moon cycle. This place doesn't."
Instead of trying to understand, I focused on his fumble. "Human world?" I giggled. "You mean earth, silly. I thought grown-ups were smart."
Lucifer looked up at Beel before sighing. "I'll explain later. Have they shown you to your room?"
I shook my head. "Bee said we can go there last."
Beel reached under my arms and lifted me to his hip. He always seemed to want to carry me. Not that I minded... until he took forever to let me down again.
Lucifer looked at the sleeping Belphie in the pile of pillows and rolled his eyes. "Figured that might happen."
He sounded irritated, but his expression betrayed him, showing he wasn't really all that bothered. We started down the stairs and down a long hallway. This place seemed like a maze to me. It's no wonder the twins didn't want me running off alone yet.
"This room is yours. If you forget, you can ask anyone here, " He said, opening the door. "Hell knows it's become the new common room since your arrival"
He muttered the second part under his breath and I didn't catch much of it, not that I cared once I saw my room.
I took a deep breath and shrieked. "THERE'S A TREE IN MY ROOM!"
Beel winced at my volume, considering I was right next to his ear. I wiggled out of his grasp for the umpteenth time and ran up to it, touching it to see if it was real. My jaw dropped once I realized it was. I bet nobody else in the whole world got to have a real tree in the middle of their room.
I heard Lucifer huff a tiny laugh at my reaction while Beel smiled and sat on the plush bed.
"It was actually put in here specifically for you. You're used to more oxygen." Lucifer explained, "We weren't sure how you would adapt to here. Plus, it's native where you're from, so we figured it'd be a reminder of home."
His big words only confused me more, so I tuned them out and cradled Bloo to my chest with one arm while the other picked a leaf off the tree. This was the coolest room ever.
"Hungry." Beel mumbled, glancing up at Lucifer. The latter dismissed him.
"Asmodeus should be home soon. Do you have any more questions?" Lucifer asked, walking up behind me and placing a hand on my shoulder.
I racked my brain. I had a lot of questions, but there were too many to choose from. Where was my family? How did I get lost in the library? And why did I now have a room here?
Lucifer's gaze was too analytical of my expression for me to feel okay with asking all of them. My thumb prodded at my mouth while I shook my head.
"Nu uh."
The door swung open once the words left my mouth.
"Oh (MC)!" Asmo flitted into the room, multiple bags on his arms. He placed the bags down on the floor and reached in, holding up a shirt my size. "Ready for your fashion show?"
Uh oh...
I'm officially in for it.

“ all i see tonight ”
✧ slow dancing at a party with 6REEZE (not a sequel to 'if you'd say you love me' just in the same setting!)
✧ kunikuzushi, venti, kazuha, heizou, aether, xiao ; idol au ; not proofread
request from @darthvada ! i hope you enjoy and once again sorry for the wait :'))
Tumblr media
the lights are swirling above you, beaming a blue and white glow upon kunikuzushi's scowling face. it's almost enough to make him look pretty, with his sharp, feminine features and expensive suit matching his shiny dark hair, but the perpetual look of fury on his face always ruins what could otherwise be a contender for the role of main visual.
"why do we have to do this, exactly?" he grumbles, swiping his blunt bangs off of his forehead. even his motions are angry, you think with a wry smile, and he seems to take that personally, narrowing his eyes. "what's funny?"
"nothing," you say, shrugging slightly. "and... i mean, no one's forcing you to, but it's supposed to be a party. we're here to celebrate you guys!"
"whatever." he cuts his eyes towards heizou, dancing with a pretty green-haired girl in a purple tuxedo. "look at him. how does he not get embarrassed when he's so obviously trying to show off?"
"i don't think heizou ever gets embarrassed," you say dryly, placing one hand on your hip and tilting your head. "seriously though, if you don't want to dance, you can go home. i'm sure xiao has already taken his leave."
"no," he says quickly. "that's fine. i'll just stay here until everyone else is done. i don't really wanna walk home in the dark." you nod, shifting your attention back to the others. as the lights pass on and off of your face, throwing you into sharp clarity and then blurry shadows, kuni resists the urge to look, just to watch the way it reflects off your face like you're underwater.
the two of you stand in silence, both watching the couples dancing. it's so hot in here, kuni thinks, pulling his collar away from him as he wipes sweat off his forehead. he really should have gone home by now. why is he even still here?
maybe because you look so pathetic, standing here on your own. yeah... pathetic. lonely, even. that sounds right. it would just be rude, not to mention boring to go home at this point. he shoves his hands into his pockets, looking down at the floor.
"um, kuni," you start. he blinks, looking over at you. there's a faint flush on your cheeks. "would you dance with me, maybe? it could be more fun than just standing here, right? only if you want to." you extend your hand, your lips slightly pursed as you wait for a response.
once again, you look so pathetic holding out your hand like that. he stares at it for a second. he can see that your nails need clipping, the gleaming gold polish chipped. he can't possibly refuse -- the expression on your face is so earnest, so hopeful, and -- anyway, he doesn't want to risk offending the person in charge of all his deals.
he hesitates for barely a second, then says, "okay. fine." as he takes your hand and you move slowly towards the center of the room, he's sure you can feel how sweaty his palm is, which makes him want to snatch it back instantly. there's something so embarrassing about the idea of you being able to feel his nervousness.
wait, no, it's not nervousness, because he's not nervous! it's just because it's hot in here. that's all. and of course it's hot, with all the people crammed into the room, and why is he here again? just because he didn't want to hurt your feelings? it's so ridiculous, the way his brain is going into overdrive over nothing at all. why is he always like this around you?
seemingly not noticing his dilemma, you say, "here, you lead", gingerly guiding his hand to your hip, and his face bursts into color. he dips his head, trying to hide it from you as you continue to fix your position. "have you ever done this before?"
"no," he manages to get out, clearing his throat. "no, i haven't. is that -- is that a problem?"
"no, that's fine," you hum, in the same calm, reassuring tone you usually use towards him. from anyone else, it would only aggravate him more, but it's different somehow. "technically, i should lead since i have more experience, but you're a bit stronger than me -- "
he smirks, and you glare. "a bit, i said, and it's only because you do more training. anyways, it'll be easier with you leading. just follow what the others are doing, and i'll tell you if you need any help. okay?"
he nods without answering. you almost ask if he's nervous -- his fingers, interlaced with yours, are clenching so tightly that it nearly hurts -- but that might lead him to refuse dancing entirely, and his eyes, softening into an almost gentle focus as you begin to sway back and forth, are shining so brightly under the lights.
after a few minutes, his instincts from years of dancing seem to take over, and he starts to time your movements to the quiet classical music being played in the corner of the room. a step with a loud chord from the piano, a sweep of his arm as the violin crescendos. it's easier and easier to follow his lead.
of course, he had no reason to be nervous. his arrogant exterior makes it hard to believe it sometimes, but he's so talented. sometimes, it takes your breath away.
"this isn't so bad, right?" you ask. he takes a moment to respond, shaking his head as if coming out of a dream. "i mean... i don't hate it, but it's not my thing." his response is typically clipped, said with an edge, but it doesn't quite feel the same as usual. maybe it's the tight grip he has on your arm, as if he's afraid you're going to slip away.
"oh, it's not fun?" you say, slightly disappointed. "sorry, i thought you might enjoy it. since dancing is your thing, and all."
"not this kind of dancing," he says, a small grin on his lips. the usual kuni smile, more of a smirk than anything. "but it's fine. i'm starting to get it."
"naturally." you smile back, and his eyes glimmer just a bit brighter.
the violin player goes into a solo, notes climbing higher and higher, and he steps sideways, pulling you into an unexpected twirl. you follow without hesitation, spinning on your heel, easily able to keep your balance with his firm grip above your head.
"don't trip," he says as soon as you regain your footing, grinning with your hair falling over your face, and you're about to ask what he means when in a heartbeat, you plunge into a dip.
the position is so fragile, like both of you could fall with one finger. one hand on his shoulder and the other clasped in his palm, and the world snaps into clear focus as you stare into his eyes. his eyebrows are furrowed as if concentrating on something; you can feel your heart pounding in your chest.
and then he smiles, features just as sharp and cold as ever, and you think for the thousandth time, he always looks so angry. but, then -- with his teeth gleaming, one of them sharp as a fang, and his hair hanging over his eyes -- just then, it doesn't feel like the emotion gleaming in his eyes is anger. or even anything less than joy.
the hand clutching yours feels too warm for that.
Tumblr media
it's odd enough that venti isn't wildly parading around in the midst of everyone else to show off his outfit, even moreso that he's not dancing at all. you've been looking for him for a while now, but when you finally find him standing against the wall, playing his violin with the rest of the orchestra, you're so surprised your jaw drops."haha, what?" he asks, still playing as he focuses in on you. "is it really that shocking?"
"i-i mean, i didn't know that you even played the violin," you sputter. "i thought you played the lyre? that old harp thing?"
"i used to take lessons when i was younger." venti shrugs with a smile, finally setting the violin down with a nod to the other orchestra members. "i wanted to join in, since i had no one to dance with... " he sighs, batting his eyelashes as he looks at you.
you roll your eyes, but laugh, turning and stepping towards the other people dancing. "okay, okay. i got it." he follows eagerly, flitting beside you like a bird; his footsteps are always light, gentle and soft as though he's being carried on a breeze. he's not the dancer that kuni is -- not even close -- but he has his own charm, all the same.
"so, how are you feeling about an entire party, just for you?" you ask, settling into a spot away from the thicker parts of the crowd. "well, not you specifically, but still. this is pretty impressive, even for 6REEZE. you've just been climbing higher and higher, lately."
"i like to believe it's just for me," he says, winking, and tucks his arms onto your shoulders. you blink at the sudden contact, goosebumps running up your arms, but -- it's just venti. that's just how he is. always attached to someone; clinging to heizou's elbow as they walk together or leaning on aether's shoulder during a moment of rest. you shouldn't be as surprised as you are.
venti's warm green eyes watch you closely as you relax, following the simple pattern of the music. he's one of the taller members of the group, and it's easier to keep up with him, even though he still has far more grace than you. you tentatively put your hands on his waist, and his eyes crinkle as he smiles.
there's silence for a while, both of you comfortably quiet. xiao shuffles past you two, clutching a plate of cheesecake. venti waves hello and gets an blank, icy stare back. you smile, casting your gaze up towards the ceiling.
"about 6REEZE, i think you're right, though," he says unexpectedly.
  you look down again. "hm?"
"we're getting really popular, really quick." he laces his hands behind your head, turning slowly in a circle. "did i tell you, i heard aether's solo viator playing at the supermarket earlier? i actually like that we're becoming mainstream!"
"i mean, it was only a matter of time. you guys are all... " you blow out a breath, and your hair drifts upwards slightly. his gaze tracks the movement of each strand before it falls back into place, and you examine his hair more closely in turn as he tilts his head up.
it's a party, so he's not wearing his signature braids today, hair falling around his face so that he has to shake his head to get it out of his eyes. even so, the luminescence of the glowing blue strands remains, so that it seems even brighter in the dim light. you press a lock of it behind his ear, and your breath catches in your throat as he locks eyes with you.
it's something you've done a million times before interviews or photoshoots, fixing his hair or smoothing a wrinkle in his clothes, but with the two of you barely inches apart, your fingers only separated from his stomach by a piece of sheer fabric, it feels almost painfully intimate. your fingertips brush over his neck as you pull your hand back, and his lips part slightly without noise as though there's a word that caught on his tongue as it was leaving his mouth.
then the moment passes, and you clear your throat. "s-so, you heard aether's solo, right? that one was unexpectedly popular. i'm really happy for him. xiao's just released, so i think... oh!" you nod. "yours is next! it'll be called carmen dei, and i think barbara is going to compose for it. you know her, right?"
"yeah," he says, hesitating. "wait... so, she'll be the one writing the music?"
you nod. "why, is that a problem?"
"um, well, not a problem, but i was hoping to maybe -- like, do the music myself?" his eyes go to the side, and you can feel him tense up, the draw of his shoulders and torso tightening. "so it's my solo, not SHOGUNATE's, you know? when i'm done with this whole idol thing, i don't want my reputation to be all about me not singing my own songs."
you've heard out his complaints about the way SHOGUNATE ENTERTAINMENT micromanages every aspect of his idol persona a million times, but this is the first time that he sounds actually serious about it. you nod slowly. "i get that, but... lyre and violin music isn't exactly... "
"marketable?" venti says wryly. "yeah," you sigh. sometimes you're surprised by how down-to-earth he can be, considering how he normally is. he waves his hand before brightening. "hey, wait! i play the guitar, too! that's definitely marketable. everyone loves a cool guy with a guitar."
you're surprised for a moment, then not at all; of course, he would play three different instruments. only venti. "yeah, we could work with that. so, you can sing, dance, and play the violin, lyre, and the guitar? is there anything you can't do?" you question teasingly.
he leans in closer, and you can see every shade of green in the depths of his eyes. you're suddenly hyper-aware of how close you are to each other. "yeah, here's something. i can't stop myself from falling for you," venti quips, the smirk on his face huge and pronounced.
"oh," it escapes your mouth more of a sound than a word. you stare at him, your own eyes as wide as plates. he holds it for a few seconds, then bursts into laughter that seems to billow to life on the wind, filling up the room. you see other people turning to look at who's making so much noise as heat rises to your face, ducking away so that they don't connect you with him.
"why are you like this?" you groan, pressing your hand to your forehead to shield your face, and his expression settles into a fond, affectionate smile, resting his chin on your shoulder. "come on, [name]. you know you love me."
"... yeah," you say, and fold your fingers through his, swaying slowly with an exasperated, yet fond expression. "i do."
you can't see his face; you couldn't possibly know what he was feeling, not with his heart hidden away from you behind every joke made specifically to trick you that it's exactly that. just a joke. but with his eyes closed -- all long eyelashes and softened brow -- and his lips pressed together, head on your shoulder, he can almost pretend that 'love' of yours was the kind he's dreamed of for so long.
"you know you love me," he repeats in a whisper, so quietly he's barely making any noise, and you're so focused on the music that you can't hear, and maybe that's for the better. "so is it really my fault that i love you?"

kazuha has never been one for events like this, preferring the simpler solitude of working alone in his room or with only a few other people. though he's at least slightly more social than xiao, he tends to skip out when it becomes a larger gathering. it's especially annoying if everyone else is doing something that he has little interest in. he always ends up feeling painfully awkward and leaving early.
which means this situation, in which he's standing stiffly in the corner and white-knuckling a glass of sparkling apple juice, is his absolute worst nightmare.
he's been trying to get himself to join the other boys and you, spread out through the room, for a while now. venti is telling some story that has aether in hysterics. the corner of kazuha's lips turn up as he sees your expression, looking very confused but still laughing, a look that he’s seen on you a million times. being around you always feels so comfortable, like coming home after a long time away; though he doesn’t know if you feel the same, he always wants to be with you.
he catches himself a moment after thinking that. it’s not – not like that. he only means it because you’ve been friends for years. of course, he would prefer to be with someone who’s so close to him. it’s a simple, understandable thought. the way he feels about you is strictly friendly. still… even though it is – it is – he could never voice it aloud. no need to think about why, he thinks, idly swirling his juice.
oh – speak of the devil, he thinks surprisedly, then with a smile, as your gaze alights upon him. you grin, giving a quick goodbye to venti and then making your way over to his side. as you approach, his posture relaxes, grip on the glass loosening.
“hey, kazu,” you say, leaning on the wall beside him. his stomach flutters at the nickname, simply nodding back as he doesn’t trust himself not to get tongue-tied.
you sigh, seeming tired as you glance over at him. “how’s it going? ah, you know, you're old enough to drink.” you gesture at his glass. "can i get you something else, maybe? i know i need something stronger than apple juice to get myself through this."
his heart leaps at your words – thank god that he’s not the only one who doesn’t want to be here – and he smiles sheepishly. "ah, i probably shouldn’t. i’m something of a lightweight, i wouldn’t want to embarrass myself in front of all these people. are you also feeling out of place?”
“yeah, i’m not really sure what i’m supposed to be doing. i’ve slow danced, but this feels different. i don’t have anyone to do it with, either.” you click your tongue, disappointed. “and i got all dressed up, too.”
kazuha does a double take; with the room steadily darkening as the sky outside turns to a velvety black, he hadn’t taken in your outfit, assuming you were simply wearing another tuxedo. but no, now he sees every inch of it. silky silver fabric the color of fog, shimmering like water as you shift your weight, and spiraling threads of midnight blue embroidery on the hem and sleeves. the fabric swirls around your hips and shoulders, with a ribbon pulling it in at your waist, and you look…
heart-achingly beautiful. but that’s no different from usual. sometimes he think he could drown in it.
he’s vaguely aware that he’s probably losing the last shreds of his dignity with every second that he’s unable to muster a response, and he forces himself to lift his eyes back to your face. you’re smiling slightly.
he swallows, aware of the burning color on his face. “you look nice.” you do a little twirl, clapping your hands and laughing, and he almost loses it again.
“would you, uh… would you want to dance?” you ask, pointing over your shoulder. there’s a faint blush on your face. his heart speeds up, keeping his even expression with some difficulty. “we can’t leave, at least not for a bit – it would be ridiculous for us both to leave from 6REEZE’s own party, but…”
he blinks. “you want to dance? you mean, together?”
“of course!” you beam, taking his glass of cider and and clasping his hand. “don’t forget, i’ve known you for a long time! you know how to do it – your cousin does ballroom dancing, doesn’t she?”
“yes, that’s right,” he nods, unable to muster a better response. the feeling of your palm against his is distracting. “i’m not as good at it, though. i can try… ”
“that’s okay.” you tug him away from the wall, placing the glass on a nearby table, and put your hand on his hip. he shivers at the contact, fingers threading through yours, and hesitantly matches your stance. “you don’t need to be nervous,” you hum, guiding his arm around your waist. your voice is quiet – words blooming like smoke off your tongue, and he’s the only one who can hear them. “you’re the one who knows how to do this, so just take it slow.”
“all right,” kazuha agrees, following the music as it picks up and stepping back and forth. you note, as soon as he starts feeling more comfortable, that he moves as smoothly as a professional. he’s elegant, that’s the only word for it. as graceful as a leaf in the wind. you twirl around him, catching and releasing hands, with a smile as your fingertips meet again.
someone in the room has started singing, another musician with the orchestra, maybe. the words are too quiet for you to make out, but kazuha’s head starts to move gently with the high and low notes, chin bobbing as he spins away from you. he’s wearing earrings, you realize, long dangling silver things that twinkle with every movement. it’s a wonder they haven’t gotten tangled in his hair yet.
the singer grows louder, her voice silky and warm, and you stretch up to your tallest stance, twirling around him in a burst of misty cloth, faster and faster but never losing your balance, and at the longest note where you can practically feel the singer’s chest aching, he catches you into his arms. your back to his front. you can feel his chest rise and fall with each breath.
he releases you as soon as he seems to realize, and you step back. there’s a second of silence where neither of you knows what to say, and then you shake your head, regaining your bearings. he ducks his chin, pinching the back of his hand as though he’s in a dream.
“i know you don’t like it, so thanks for being willing to dance with me,” you say cheerfully, tilting your head. he nods, blinking rapidly like someone who spent too long looking at the sun. his ponytail has come undone at some point, platinum locks spilling around his ears. honestly, dancing, and dancing with you are two different things, but…
he stammers, nervously, and it breaks your heart a little but makes you grin, too, “thank you to you, too. it’s not – it was really nice, so – ”
in a heartbeat, you lean in and kiss him on the cheek; he stops midsentence, and it’s like fireworks are exploding in his head, temporarily blinded. your hair tickles his skin. you smell like expensive shampoo. such a tiny contact, and yet it feels as though his heart will belong to you forever after this.
you pull back, and kazuha’s face is bright red; from where your lips met his skin, it feels like flames are spreading across his face, heat bursting, prickling at him just under the surface. you look embarrassed too, opening your mouth and closing it like you weren’t planning on doing that. but god is he glad that you did.
for the first time, his fingers tangled in soft fabric and your hand in his, it feels like maybe he can admit how he feels. like maybe, he has a chance.
Tumblr media
as always, heizou is the center of attention; he’s danced with at least three people since the party started. you’ve seen him clumsily switch between partners, waving goodbye to one person and flitting off to be with someone else. to his credit, he seems to do it smoothly enough, but it’s still hard not to laugh seeing him pop up in front of yet another potential partner with a flirty smile.
maybe you shouldn’t have laughed, it seems to have baited him over. and now, your time has come.
“please, please, please,” he begs, clasping your hands and opening his eyes as wide as he can to make them sparkle. it’s a move that you’ve seen him use on countless fans but that doesn’t quite work on you anymore. you tilt your head down, looking at him blankly. “please what?”
“dance with me, of course! i have no one else to go with, so help!” he pops the ending of his words on the tip of his tongue, like a bubble. you blink slowly. “there’s like, a hundred people in here that would happily accept if you asked, you know.”
“yeah, yeah,” he waves his hand. “but that’s the problem! until now i’ve just been warming up. i don’t want to ask just anyone, i’m saving it for someone special. soo… what do you say?”
  “what.”
he’s practically on his knees, headband falling out of his hair. you poke it back in and he barely seems to notice. “please. i’ll give you free merch. i’ll let you cameo in one of our music videos. i’ll credit you in my solo for inspiration – ”
“okay first off, you don’t have that power, second, i do and i don’t even want it.” you press your lips together. “but… fine. if it’ll make you stop asking.”
he looks so happy, apples of his cheeks pink as he pumps his fist and pulls you towards him, that in that moment you can’t even be exasperated. you’re mostly invincible to his charms – you have to be, while dealing with his ridiculous requests and flights of fancy – but every now and then you remember why he’s so incredibly popular. those shining eyes and hair the color of expensive wine; and of course, he spends an exorbitant amount on expensive skincare products. ah, the life of an idol whose job is to be pretty…
“i’ll lead,” he says, easily settling into the stance. you nod. your hand curls over his shoulder, the other going to his waist, and you don’t realize until he turns a faint shade of pink that your fingers are on his bare skin.
“oh – i’m s-sorry,” you stammer, pulling your hand back like you’ve touched fire, and now your face is burning as you scan his outfit and see that his high-collared shirt, for whatever reason, is open on the sides. you hadn’t noticed because the hem is tucked neatly into his slacks. “i can just hold your arm instead – ”
heizou clears his throat. “it’s fine, if you’re okay with it, you can just… yeah,” he trails off as you place your hand back where it was.
“okay,” you mumble, swallowing thickly, fingertips brushing over his side. you can feel how warm his skin is, the muscles of his stomach; it feels improper almost, and you prepare yourself for heizou making a million comments about it, as is typical behavior from him.
but as he starts to move, stepping carefully in a circle, being careful to avoid his shoes catching in the fabric billowing around your legs, you see he’s looking everywhere but at you. his face is still shaded pink. you marvel at seeing him flustered. it’s… cute.
as soon as you think it, you shake your head at yourself, focusing on the dance. just the dance. you only agreed to get him to stop begging.
a few minutes go by as you get your bearings, tentatively following his movements. you pride yourself on being easy to imbalance (in many ways), but heizou is a bad dancer. it’s a wonder that the people he was with earlier were willing to put up with it. there’s something almost lovable about it – the way he stumbles every now and then as his shoes slide across the slick floor, long fingernails skidding over your wrist as he loses his grip. you can’t help but smile.
“people are looking,” he says, whispering it into your ear as you bend backwards into a dip. you can practically feel him straining to hold you up with one arm in a lazy grip around your back. despite yourself – despite how little you know about dancing, how little he seems to know about dancing – you’re having fun, and you can’t bring yourself to care, laughing as you say, “let them look!”
he looks shocked. you understand, of course; normally, you’re not the kind of person who revels in attention from others, not the way that he is. but you’ve been the manager of 6REEZE for so long now that you’re starting to get used to it, and this isn’t something you would do normally, either. but for now you can delight in it instead of spending too much time thinking.
funny how he of all people is having that effect on you.
a flute player starts up in the orchestra, the other instruments softening to let the fast-paced, sweet music drift through the crowd. it settles like a fine, light mist over the dancing couples. against your better judgment, you speed up your movements, pirouetting between two others and letting go of him for a moment – you see his eyes widen as you vanish, only to reappear a second later and grab his shoulder again, pulling you back together. today is a day for surprises.
he’s wheezing with what might be amusement or exhaustion, and you can’t help but join in, and you stare into his eyes and they sparkle like precious gems. those peridot-colored eyes. for just a second, you can study every bit of his face. he’s almost unfairly gorgeous.it takes a tiny internal struggle to pull yourself away as his laughter turns to confusion, and you pretend as though nothing has happened when you return to the dance.
he knows, though; he saw the feeling in your gaze. you know he knows. and the space between you has narrowed.
“have you ever heard that a mole under your eye means you’re going to have bad luck in love?” you ask, tightening your grip as he spins clumsily. “you have two of them, so doesn’t that mean you’d have double the bad luck?”
heizou blinks, side-stepping another couple. “hmm, maybe, but it’s fine with me. i’ve heard people say it makes me look more mature, so i can put up with something like that. especially since i’m able to naturally counter it with my good looks, y’know?”
“you’re so shallow,” you say, eyes glimmering. if it was anyone else, you’d feel bad talking to them in such a way, but heizou always provokes you to this kind of immature banter. it feels natural, real in a way that not much in the idol world is. real the same way your arms around his shoulders are. “imagine if you acted like this without being the main visual. you’re lucky you’re pretty.”
his mouth opens into a perfect O for a second – your heart catches in your throat – and then softens into the same playful smile as always. “if all i’ve got going for me is my looks, then i’d happily use them to charm you!” he hums. “no matter how long it takes. i won’t give up.”
and all you can do is laugh. how could you say that he’s already succeeded?
Tumblr media
maybe it’s unfair, but you’re not expecting to see aether with anyone as you approach him, much less a pretty blond girl with a expensive-looking flower clip in her hair. not because he’s shy, exactly – more cautious. he doesn’t have as many admirers as the other boys and it’s no secret (at least to you) that it makes him… well, hesitant.
but he’s smiling, and something clenches in your stomach; not jealousy, maybe confusion. his happiness always makes you feel the tiniest bit bitter, because it makes you wonder how anyone could see him like that and not fall in love with his smile.
“hey aether,” you say, tapping his shoulder and smiling at the blond girl. “nice to meet you, i’m 6REEZE’s manager, [name].”
“ohh, you’re [name],” the girl says, tapping her chin and smiling slightly. she glances at aether. “nice to meet you. aether’s said a lot about you, you know – ”
“okay, thanks for that,” aether cuts her off, speaking through gritted teeth. he turns to you. “this is lumine, my twin sister. she’s a member of 4BYSS.”
your eyes pop. “your sister is in 4BYSS?”
he starts to laugh and lumine rubs the back of her neck sheepishly. 4BYSS is a very popular girl group under MRX Entertainment consisting of four members who always wear masks during their videos. when 6REEZE was first marketed they were considered as their ‘male counterpart’ until it was made public knowledge that they had been put together by SHOGUNATE – to know that aether’s twin is also a famous idol is just…
“wow. so the idol talent runs in the family?” you say, shaking your head disbelievingly. “i can’t believe i never knew this! aether, you should have introduced us sooner.”
“sorry. i try to keep my family and my friends separate, since my sister likes to tease.” he glares at her. she giggles, covering her mouth, and flicks her hand. “whatever, it’s not like i’m doing anything wrong or lying. after all, aether has quite a few stories about – ”
“okay,” aether interrupts for the second time. your lips tug up as lumine frowns. “i think you should go get something to eat, lumine. you seem… out of it.”
“fine,” she huffs, and then her eyes light up. “oh! since i’m going, why don’t you two dance together? otherwise, you’ll have only danced with me this whole time and that’s just sad. plus – well, you know. be brave, little brother.” she pats you on the shoulder, squeezing just a bit as she winks at you, then flutters away towards the food.
aether pinches the bridge of his nose as you turn to him, amused. “that’s… wrong. she’s three minutes younger than me.”
“what a cutie,” you say with furrowed eyebrows, before you cross one arm over your chest, tucking it under the other nervously. “um, so what she said about dancing, do you wanna?”
his eyes light up and he beams, and you blink when he nods excitedly instead of hesitating with “yeah, sure!” but then again, you shouldn’t be surprised; aether is the kind of person who always agrees to things. you, really, really hope he’s not just trying to make you happy.
you place your arms over his shoulders. his silken gold hair is in a high ponytail that curls over his back, messy bangs out of his face, and he’s wearing bracelets. light, silver things – herringbone, you think absently, smooth and delicate – that make soft jingling noises as his wrist moves, taking your hand.
the music picks up, and you’re off; a light but firm grip on your hip, fingers ready to let go of you at any time. it’s almost a surprise how good he is at it– but not quite, because it’s still him, and he is nothing if not a hard worker. he’s not good at things by chance. and yes, you can feel the undercurrent of supporting strength in his muscles as you step, hand clasped in his high in the air.
  he is steady. as always.
you sweep your arm to avoid bumping into a giggling, pale-haired boy in an top hat as he spins in a circle. aether looks after him with a grin, still keeping up with you even as his gaze drifts. “it’s kind of nice to see you like this,” you say without thinking.
he raises an eyebrow, attention shifting back. you feel heat creeping up your neck. “what do you mean?”
“i-i don’t know. relaxed? cheerful?” even you know how it sounds, saying that aether, the friendliest and most positive member, is not normally cheerful. there’s really no way to articulate what you mean – that you know his usual optimistic demeanor is a facade? that you can tell he’s exhausted? no, that’s not something you can say aloud. you half-shrug, twirling away. “you just seem… happier lately. less stressed?”
he nods. “yeah, since my solo came out, um… ” he trails off, looking embarrassed, his nose dusted pink. his blush always starts there. it’s taken you a long time to figure that out, since he almost never gets flustered. you incline your head slightly for him to continue. “i mean… it ended up being really popular! a lot of people know me now. and that’s… it’s cool, right?”
your heart melts a little. “of course! i know how hard you worked for that,” you hum, fingertips grazing over his back as you shift your position. he turns on one leg, sweeping the other out behind him to maintain his balance. he’s gliding more than moving, without stumbling a single time. the music bleeds into your ears, and he’s humming. the lights drift over his face. his gaze seems far away, swinging your arm out and stepping back and forth. you try not to smile.
one of his bracelets catches the light, as though a spotlight has alighted onto aether’s wrist; he pivots on his heel, leaning back so you can lean forward. his shoes tapping on the floor. you tilt just a bit too far, bumping into him – and you’re flooded with the scent of orange blossoms and cinnamon. you’re not sure if it’s body wash or if he just smells like that. you wouldn’t be surprised.
he turns you around by the hand, fingers curling over yours, and says suddenly, “thank you.”
you blink as you face him again. for a second you think you imagined it, because his eyes aren’t on you. “for what?”
“believing in me,” he says, tightening his grip on your waist – color bursts over your cheeks and you open your mouth – and then you’re whirling through the air as he spins in a circle. you laugh out of disbelief; with anyone else you might be afraid to move, worried he’d drop you, but… it’s aether. you don’t think he’s even capable of that.
time seems to slow down, the moment stretching into an eternity. you can see head and shoulders above everyone else, but the only thing you’re looking at is him; and his smile, his eyes are as bright as the sun.
Tumblr media
you expected xiao to leave within the first hour – hell, the first ten minutes – of the party, but he lasted over two hours before finally slipping out. you’re a bit proud; even as an idol, he doesn’t have much experience with these kind of events, only speaking when he has to and going silent entirely when he’s too tired not to. you understand it, of course. he’s supporting the whole group.
you give a quick excuse to kazuha and head towards the door that xiao took. as soon as you step through the doorframe, you’re hit with a blast of cool air, a welcome difference from the stuffy atmosphere inside the main room. the hallway is empty.
“xiao?” you call. “are you here?”
there’s no response, but your gaze catches on the one door that’s slightly ajar. you approach it, peering inside, and find him sitting on the room’s windowsill, staring out over the city. you clear your throat and he turns his head; even at night, the golden lights shining from both skyscrapers and houses is almost blinding, and he’s bathed in it. the sharp lines of his face seem softer.
“hi,” you say. he seems to be registering your presence, and returns, “hey,” tilting his chin up. “why are you here?”
you frown, lined with a teasing edge, at the same moment he realizes it sounded rude, and you see his brow furrow. “sorry. that came out wrong. i just meant… ”
“i know what you meant,” you answer, the corner of your mouth lifting up. “i was looking for you. i thought – maybe you would want some company?”
his eyes spark with something that could maybe be happiness, maybe anticipation. “yeah. that would be nice.” it comes out like a mumble, as do most of his comments; and maybe you’re just hoping for it, but it sounds like there’s a bit of genuine gratitude in there.
you sit down on the windowsill beside him, admiring the view of the city. if it were a truly perfect evening, it might start raining, lending an air of peacefulness to the scene, but nothing in real life is that perfect. for now, it’s nice just to sit with him like this.
“so, why’d you dip?” it’s easy to guess the answer: that he simply got tired of pleasantries. you’re surprised when his face screws up, propping his chin up with his hand. “i’m not a good dancer.”
“yeah you are!” you protest. “what are you talking about?”
“not at slow dancing.” xiao glares at nothing in particular. “i don’t have any practice. i’ve never done it.”
you can’t help but smile a bit, turning to face the window. you speak a bit haltingly, pressing your palm to the glass. it’s smooth, cold. raindrops fall between your fingers. heat runs to your face as you talk. “i’m sure you could pick it up. do… do you want to practice?”
he doesn’t answer for a long moment, and you glance at him out of the corner of your eye, stomach churning. his lips are pressed together, a tiny flush lighting up his pale face, and he finally says, “okay. if you want to.”
you slide to your feet, fumbling with your phone for a second and landing on a playlist of classical music. you press the play button and drop it on a table before turning to xiao, who looks slightly lost. soft music starts to leak into your ears, and you press a bit closer to him, searching for his frame in the dark. when you place one hand into his, laying the other tentatively on his hip, he stiffens for barely a fraction of a second, then relaxes.
“sorry,” he mutters. “i don’t know where to put my hands.”
“here,” you whisper, guiding his tense fingers to your waist. there’s something a bit too clumsy, a bit too endearing about the gesture for it to be embarrassing. “and just keep the other one where it is. and then… step, one, two, move your arm… ”
he’s a quick learner, naturally. he wouldn’t be such an amazing group center if he wasn’t. you were expecting it. but still, it barely takes him a few beats to pick up the measure. dancing in this empty place is so different from the other room you were in before. there’s a million less things to focus on and at the same time, a million more. every bit of him a tiny miracle.
it’s not quite dark, not with the shining glow of the city’s skyline outside, but you can only slightly make out the general shape of xiao’s features. soft cheekbones, full lips and dark hair. he’s still got a hint of sternness in his expression, but his eyes shine slightly; yellowish, with pupils like a cat’s.
connected in the slow rhythm, swaying with your arms around him, you can hardly breathe. or maybe it’s that you don’t want to breathe, not quite – you don’t want to disturb the moment. it feels like you’re moving through molasses, slow and sweet and wonderful. his grip relaxes as you go, his steps and sweeps of his arm become smoother, until he’s moving just as evenly and fluidly as you. neither of you speaks.
there’s a plunking sound, like someone’s dropping pebbles into a puddle of water. you look out the window. it’s raining, the lights starting to go dark as the raindrops running down the glass distort the city’s horizon; xiao barely seems to notice, though you catch a hint of a gentler look on his face in the last bit of gleaming gold before the rain obscures it entirely.
the shadow cast by the drops on the glass forms itself on the wall behind you, scattering over your face. it’s slightly blue, mostly black, almost silver in places. just like a movie. “it’s perfect,” you whisper to yourself, and xiao doesn’t give any sign that he’s heard, though he moves just a bit faster as if something is spurring him on.
you shift your weight slightly, rest your head on his collarbone. the room is quiet, and if you strain, there’s the orchestra music from the main room, layered under the gentle piano pouring from your phone and curling through the air like smoke. you can hear – can feel – his heart beating. even with everything else, at least for this moment, that could be your favorite song.

ASKING YOU ABOUT YOUR STANLEY PARABLE/HLVRAI CROSSOVER. ELABORATE PLEASE??
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
more under the cut :3
So the basic concept goeth thusly:
Post HLVRAI canon, Gordon ends up in the Parable somehow. Stanley immediately mentally adopts him, while the Narrator is like "Oh we can ABSOLUTELY NOT have GORDON FREEMAN here" (nod to tsp originally being a hl2 mod!) and basically tries to boot Gordon out the Parable. He resets, and now Benrey is here.
So already not fun for the Narrator (though much fun for stanley, who loves seeing the narrator distressed because stanley is a bastard). Wrangling Stanley is already a nightmare, and now he has two other guys, one of which is an alien who can just noclip, which is very frustrating.
However, there's another twist to this: the role of narrator keeps being shuffled around. Sometimes, the Narrator is not the narrator, it's instead Gordon. Sometimes it's Benrey. Sometimes Stanley. Sometimes there's one player and the other three are narrators, and sometimes two of them are narrators and the other two are players.
So basically: we have Gordon (argumentative as shit), Benrey (benrey), Stanley (very glad to be talking to someone aside from the british man), and the Narrator (his phucking story)
Tumblr media
I'll explain the symbolism I put in their narrator designs. So:
The Narrator is Stanley's shadow. That shadow can stretch and grow, but at the end of the day, he's tied to Stanley. He literally cannot do anything without him- when Stanley stops moving (eg: not stanley ending), the Narrator can do nothing.
Stanley's narrator form is inspired by one of my favorite interpretations of Stanley- one where he didn't really use ASL or writing or anything, but instead communicated through drawings. So while Stanley has no visible form, he's present through little drawings.
Gordon's design is far simpler in my mind- his arc in this is realizing he's not fully human either, he's an AI who was completely shaped by the player. So when he's the narrator, his visible form is confined to screens. This also ties into a lot of themes of control.
Benrey's entire body shifts colors in accordance with his emotions, specifically Sweet Voice colors. The exception is the spot of pink on his chest, the hearts on his face, and his eyes. His chest glows pink always, as do the hearts on his face (showing that even though he is a fucking nightmare, at his core is love. Benrey loves, and he wants to be loved). His eyes don't shift color with his body, but they change with his emotions as well- blue when he's calmer/happier, yellow when he's stressed out. This is true even when he's not in Narrator form.
Benrey's narrator form is a very intentional parallel to the Narrator's. The Narrator is a shadow, and Benrey's literally glowing bright light. The Narrator's mouth can be seen, Benrey's can't. The Narrator is literally tied to Stanley, but Benrey's not tied to anyone. (To make the symbolism there blatant: the Narrator really wants to have control, which paradoxically leads him to have less control. Meanwhile Benrey doesn't care how much control he has, which paradoxically leads him to having more.)
Additionally: while everyone can be pulled out of their narrator forms into their normal forms, they can't do it on their own, it has to be their (for lack of a better term) game partner. Gordon is the only one who can get Benrey into his normal form. Stanley is the only one who can get the Narrator into his normal form. Vice versa.
So: that's the general stuff, and the Narrator designs. I have written down in Discord what I think their arcs would be, and how they all parallel each other. Gordon-Narrator and Stanley-Benrey are the biggest parallels, but Stanley and Gordon parallel each other as well (same with Benrey and the Narrator). I'll explain if asked and welcome ideas :3 But first I'm gonna pass the fuck out it's 18 FUCKING DEGREES FARENHEIT WHEN DID IT GET SO COLD
Anyway. Take this exchange I wrote when I first came up with the idea of this AU that's basically a script of how I thought I would write this (I didn't have it be post-canon beforehand, and I really should've had Gordon actually talk more, but I got enraptured by writing the Narrator he was so fun to write but also so anxiety inducing but also I am cringe yet I am free)

●Drew Mcintyre x Reader●
Summary: You are the babysitter for Drew's two boys. What will happen when you babysit the boys on Valentines day?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
________________________________________
*Y/N's POV*
I am standing in the kitchen making some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches while the boys are sitting at the island coloring some pictures. I grab the dinosaur shaped sandwich cutter and cut the sandwiches for them. I grab some paper plates and put the sandwiches on them with a handful of some chips. I walk over to the island and set them down.
"What?! Dinosaur sandwiches?! These are the best! Thank you Y/N!"
"Thank you!"
"Of course boys. Whatcha drawing Oakley?"
I lean on the island looking over at him. Oakley is his youngest son who is 5 years old. Eli is his other son who is 8 years old. I have been their babysitter for a few months now and it is safe to say that I love it. Oakley picks up his picture showing it to me.
"Did you draw.... a tiger? Because they are your favorite animal?"
He giggles loudly causing me to laugh.
"Yes!"
"And what did you draw Eli?"
He picks up his picture showing it to me.
"Is that.... me?"
I put my hand on my chest smiling slightly. He smiles and shakes his head yes.
"Is it me and you?"
"No! It is you and my daddy."
"Oh. Why your daddy? And why the heart?"
"Because my daddy has a....."
"Hey boys!"
I jump looking over at the front door seeing Drew walking in.
"Daddy! Look what Y/N made us!"
He sets his stuff down on the floor and walks over in-between them. He looks at their sandwiches than at me.
"You made them dinosaur sandwiches?"
I giggle looking over at him.
"Yeah. I saw the cutter at the store and thought they would love them. I'll have to look for more."
"You dont have to do that."
"But I wanted to. Those are my boys."
He stares at me, jaw dropped a little. I giggle looking away from him. Eli taps his shoulder and Drew shakes his head looking over at Eli.
"What's up dude?"
"I drew this picture for you daddy."
He picks it up and hands it to Drew. He looks at it than at me and back at the picture.
"Did you draw you and Y/N?"
"Nope! That's you and Y/N. Ya know because of the big crush you have on her."
I giggle, putting my hand over my mouth looking away from them blushing. Drew's eyes go wide looking at Eli than at me. I look back at him smiling.
"Kids say the craziest things."
He grabs the picture from Eli, walks over grabbing his bags and walks back over to the island.
"I am going to put this picture in my room along with my bags. I will be back."
He quickly runs up the stairs and I look over at Eli and Oakley leaning on the island.
"So I will be back on Wednesday for Valentines day okay? Do you boys wanna make your daddy some cupcakes? Brownies? Cookies?"
"Can we do all of them?"
"Ya know what? We will."
"Yay!"
"It's a secret. You can't tell your daddy okay?"
"Pinky promise."
I smile and hold my pinkies out for them to pinky promise me. Drew comes down the stairs wearing a black tank top and basketball shorts. I look over at him and stand up.
"What are we pinky promising here?"
I put my finger on my lips telling the boys not to say anything. Oakley looks at Drew and does the same as me. Eli looks at Drew smiling.
"It's a secret daddy. We can't tell you."
"Oh yeah? Well I got a secret for you guys too."
I smile looking over at him. Drew looks over at me leaning on the island.
"Well guys. I am going to see you on Wednesday. I have to go home now."
I walk over, hugging Eli and Oakley before I grab my backpack heading towards the door.
"Bye Y/N!"
The boys yell before I walk out the door. Drew follows me outside leaving the door open just enough so he can hear the boys. He looks down at me smiling.
"Thank you so much for taking great care of my boys. It means a lot."
"It's no big deal. I love them. Even though Eli said your little secret out loud."
I poke his chest sticking my tongue out. He blushes looking down and I laugh at him.
"Yeah yeah. Now you know. Anyways, I will be seeing you on Wednesday right?"
"Yup. Same time as usual?"
"Yes ma'am!"
"Bye!"
I walk to my car, get in and look over at Drew on the porch watching me. I wave goodbye and leave.
_________________________________________
*Wednesday. Valentines Day*
I pull into the driveway seeing Drew playing on the trampoline with the boys. I get out grabbing the grocery bags out of my car and walking them to the front door. I turn around to walk back to the car and see Drew grabbing some bags out of the car. I walk back to my car grabbing the rest of the bags. We walk to the front door together.
"What are all these bags for?"
"Me and the boys secret surprise for you."
"Oh my gosh. You are to much."
I giggle and we take the bags in together putting them on the island. He pats my shoulders than runs back outside. I walk outside seeing him run back to the trampoline. I walk out, lean against the porch pole, watching them jump around and Drew does some wrestling moves on them. I sigh smiling a little than walk back into the house. I start putting all the ingredients and extras away when I hear the front door open.
"Y/N!"
Both the boys coming running over to me as I kneel down getting ready for them to hug me. They run into my arms and we hug for a little before they let go looking at me.
"Did you get the stuff for the surprise?"
"I did. I got a bunch of stuff. But your dad has to leave for us to start."
I look up at him and the boys turn looking at him as well.
"Go Daddy go! Don't you have a meeting to get to?"
Drew grabs his small bag, hugs the boys and smiles at me.
"I will be back in about 2 hours. See you than."
"Bye!"
He closes the door leaving and I am still kneeling on the ground looking at the boys. They turn back around looking at me.
"We better get baking before he comes back!"
I grab all the ingredients and stepstools for the boys to reach the counter. We start baking our cookies, brownies and cupcakes.
_________________________________________
*about 10pm*
I am sitting at the island playing on my phone when the front door opens. I look over seeing Drew coming in looking upset. He looks over at me.
"I'm so sorry I'm late."
"Shush. The boys are asleep."
I whisper to him and he walks over to the other side of the island looking at me.
"I'm sorry. The meeting went way longer than I thought it would. And I got the boys some presents afterwards."
He sets two Valentines gift bags on the island. I smile looking at him and he looks at me confused.
"Did you take a shower? Your hair is all wet."
"I did and the boys took a bath too. We had icing all over us."
I giggle and point to the ceiling. He looks up than looks back at me.
"How did you manage to get icing on the ceiling?"
"Well, we made you some cupcakes, cookies and brownies as a present. The boys wanted to put icing on the brownies so, I heated up the container a little. I took it out and put it on the counter to do it but, Eli grabbed it telling me he could do it. But the container was still hot and he dropped it....."
"And it exploded all over you and them?"
"It was everywhere. If you find icing in the kitchen somewhere, don't be surprised. Besides the ceiling."
"Well you guys had a tough night. But I know how to cheer you up. I got you a little surprise too."
"Oh you didn't have to."
He walks over to the front door, opens it and leans out grabbing something off the table on the porch. He walks back in with a big bouquet of flowers in a vase with a heart balloon tied to it. I gasp, cover my mouth with my hand and start tearing up.
He comes around the island next to me setting them down infront of me. Some tears roll down my cheeks as I look up at him. He wipes my tears away looking down at me and puts his hand on my cheek rubbing his thumb on it.
"Happy Valentines Day. I appreciate everything you do for me and the boys. Ever since you have came into our lives, me and the boys couldn't be happier. That's why I wanted to ask you....."
He grabs my hand looking into my eyes.
"Y/N.... will you be my girlfriend?"
I start tearing up some more looking up at him.
"Yes. Yes I will be."
"Really?"
"Yes!"
"Oh my gosh. I didn't think that was going to work."
I giggle and look up at him standing up infront of him. He looks down at me putting his hands on my shoulders.
"You really wanna be with me?"
I roll my eyes giggling at him.
"Just shut up and kiss me you big stupid idiot."
He cups my face with his hands, leans down and kisses me very sweetly. I put my hands on his shoulders kissing him back. He pulls away not letting go of my face.
"You dont know how badly I've wanted to do that."
"Sure did take you long enough."

A/N - hi guys! I hope you love these new drabbles, Tae and y/n are my favorite couple ive written and can't wait to deepen their story line. enjoy :) -Nini
"and who is this you've brought with you?"
"my fiancé"
The woman sitting front desk blankly looked at your large grin as you stood in a large puffer jacket, Taehyung behind you with the same smile plastered on his face.
"oh!" she finally spoke, "it's just most couples choose to wait for the dress reveal until the wedding"
You nod, you knew this was gonna be questioned.
You tried your best to explain that you wanted your husband to be the first to see it, instead of the last. You and him agreed that it would be better to surprise family. Was it conventional? no, but nothing you two did ever was.
Another woman came out from the back and led us into a try on room, mirrors surrounding the small couch that taehyung plopped down on, his own face slightly pink in anticipation to see you in a real wedding dress.
everything was becoming increasingly more real as the clock began to tic down to the wedding date.
"let me take your coat, baby" he whispered, pulling it off your shoulders as you stood.
"ok, im gonna go with her and pick out a few and i'll come back in once im ready" you giggled and kissed his nose, happily following the woman out to the room. The large isles of puffy dresses was slightly overwhelming to look at.
You were supposed to pick just one?
"so we will gather as many as you please, then eliminate them as we go until we find the dress that you feel most beautiful in"
You grinned and nodded, "sounds good"
Your eyes scanned, looking deeply at each unique design. you almost felt like an imposter standing here, this was a little too fancy.....and expensive.
Growing up on the poorer side meant now that you were 23, and had your own well earned money, you still had issues with spending it. Every item was a questionable "is it really that needed?" purchase. The fear of someday running out, all because you spent it on unnecessary items haunts you, even though that is far from realistic.
"so....tell me about your fiancé" the older woman spoke, her arms crossed as she followed you around the room, collecting anything that sparked your interest even in the slightest.
"well...." you blush, "we've known each other since we were little kids, and to be honest I think we were just meant for each other" you mentally cringe at the corny line that left your mouth. It was true though.
She grinned "how adorable, you both are rather young, I dont see a lot of kids in their early 20's getting married as much as before"
"yeahh..." you began, handing her a soft white gown to add to her small pile in her arms. "I guess we have spent so much time together that instead of waiting, we just knew what we wanted"
"that is very true, he seems as lovely as you and I'm positive it will work out. Whens the wedding?"
"February"
"3 months, that exciting. Most women have their dress a year before" she laughed softly
"yeah well we didn't have much time to plan, we are not super fancy and its just gonna be a small wedding with our parents and siblings, nothing super big"
"small weddings are always sweet too, of course you wont get as much money with that little guests" she teased, making you secretly scrunch your face up.
"eh...not too concerned"
You did not care if you weren't going to get many expensive gifts or cash at your wedding, it didn't matter.
thats not really the point of the ceremony.
After a bit, you gathered only 3 dresses and began trying them on.
The first dress was a white puffy one, the skirt similar to a princess gown like you've seen in movies.
"tae?" you whispered, opening the door and walking in to see him on the couch.
His eyes widened as he took you in, a faint blush powdering his cheeks. "i.....woah"
The woman laughed as she had you stand on the platform in front of the mirrors.
"do you like it?"
He lagged for a moment, in shock before nodding, "ye-yeah, yeah I do, baby you look gorgeous" he smiled widely, unable to take his eyes off.
"this one is part of the new collection in stock, no one has bought it yet, its one of a kind and original" the woman began speaking as she flattened the skirt.
"oh wow, thats cool" you mumbled, eyes stuck on yourself in the mirror. It was kinda freaky to imagine yourself in a wedding dress since you were little, and now seeing it in real life.
Taehyung watched in awe of your beauty, but he couldnt help but notice your uncomfortable body language. He chose to stay silent as the worker began speaking once more.
"you look absolutely stunning in it, the price is about $9,000 right now, but of course that would probably be more in the higher 9k or even closer to 10k considering this is a bit big on you and would need alterations"
You felt your face drain, 10k for a white dress made of fabric you could buy at the craft store? Sure, it was an incredibly beautiful gown, but you were not about to pay that much for a one time wear.
"God, ...okay" taehyung lifted his winter cap from his head to itch his scalp in thought, putting it back down as he watched your expression.
"yeah uh...not gonna get this one" you whispered, looking at the worker
"thats okay, lets go try the other ones you picked"
Taehyung sat back down, part of him loving the way you were putting on a little fashion show for him, the other, concerned that you were bothered by something.
You stepped out in another dress, however this white one was more fitted, there was no train behind it, instead it hugged your curves.
Your fiancé smirked, watching as you stepped up to the platform.
"now, how do you feel? this one is from the summer collection, but you did say you were having an indoor wedding in February so you'll still be warm"
You thought for a moment, turning to see your body in the mirror, taehyung stood behind you, "you look so beautiful baby" he smiled
You shrugged, offering an iffy smile "I dont know"
before you knew it, your eyes were tearing up for NO reason.
The worker noticed how concerned taehyung had gotten and she spoke up, "i'll be right back"
When the door shut, he gently took your hands and made you face him, he whispered "whats wrong, hm? why are you so sad, my love?"
"I dont know" you whispered, his fingers wiping your eyes. "I just dont feel as pretty as I thought I did in these, I feel like a fake to be honest"
"why is that?" he sounded angry, not at you, but at the thought you didnt see your own beauty.
"everything is just so expensive and I dont feel like it belongs on me" you sniff, his face softens.
"hey" he whispered, "my parents agreed to help the cost of your wedding dress, stop worrying"
"I know but its not fair to you guys, and besides, I just feel weird. I wish I could just wear whatever"
He smiles gently and brushes your hair. "what is it that you want?"
"see, I dont even know. I remember when I was a little girl I always wanted to wear a puffy baby pink gown" you laugh, "everything seemed so easy then huh"
He thought for a moment, "a pink dress hm? lets see if they have that here"
"are you serious? baby, I was just joking"
"so? try one on anyways my love"
"i dont know....I was like 10 when I said that and-"
"sh" he gently cupped your face, "these dresses arent doing it for you, and we wont stop until we find what makes you feel beautiful, ok? theres no harm in trying."
When the woman came back in, he softly explained the situation, and watched as she left to go find some options that fit the idea you wanted.
After a few moments, she returned with a dress she think you'd like/
"try this one, hun, I think its the closest to what you were telling me, its also the lightest shade of pink"
You glance at tae before nodding and going to change.
It fit on easily, only slightly big in the chest, but its nothing a quick sew job from your work friend couldnt fix.
You step out, watching Taehyungs expression widen at you "oh baby.....you are so beautiful, I love you"
You giggled as he kissed you, turning your body to look in the mirror. You teared up again, but this time not because you were sad.
The baby pink dress had laced long sleeves and a large flowing skirt, the waist sewn tight. It was just the right amount of sparkles added, and for some reason you knew that this is what 10 year old you would have wanted.
"i...I love it" you whispered
Taes eyes watered a bit, seeing the genuine reaction from you.
"how much is it?" you turned to the woman, she began to speak but taehyung stopped her,
"nope, doesnt matter"
"baby-"
"no, no, you love this dress"
You frowned and nodded
"im gonna take care of it, okay?" he kissed you gently, sharing a glance into your eyes through the mirror in front of you both.
"are you sure?"
"positive"
You waited a moment, holding his hand "I really do love it" you whispered
"so....is this the dress?" the worker smiled softly, watching you nod slowly as you wiped a tear "yeah...yeah this is the dress"

For the last day of @tmaappreciationweek, I've done a Somewhere Else statement fic! It's okay, it's a happy ending 💜
[CLICK]
[MUFFLED MEOWS, MORE DISTINCT PURRING, FOOTSTEPS]
[VOICES INCREASING IN VOLUME]
JON
[excitedly] Martin, look at this one!
MARTIN
Jon, you've said that about the last four cats we've looked at!
JON
But this one is perfect!
[FOND LAUGHTER]
MARTIN
If you say so, love.
[SOFT MEOW]
JON
[quietly] You're so soft, and oh so fluffy. [louder] I think his fur is almost the same color as your hair.
MARTIN
[sighing fondly] We're taking him home then, are we?
[LOUD PURRING]
[FOOTSTEPS]
SHELTER EMPLOYEE
Oh, I see you found our newest residents!
JON AND MARTIN
[together] Residents?
SHELTER EMPLOYEE
Yep! They're a bonded pair. The orange cat is usually in front, hiding the black cat. The black cat, poor guy, looks like he's been through a few alley wars. But it's a good sign the orange one likes you—we've been calling him Marmalade, and the black cat Blackberry, one of our kid volunteers was on a toast-themed naming kick that weekend.
[LAUGHTER]
SHELTER EMPLOYEE
I know, I know. They don't yet seem very attached to those names, though, so you'll be able to change them fairly easily. I'm Tabitha, by the way—I'm just going to clean some of the kitten cages while they're out in the day room. Let me know if you need anything!
MARTIN
[distracted] Thanks.
[PAUSE]
MARTIN
Is it just me, or does the shadow in the back have eyes?
JON
[snorting] That's probably Blackberry. Oh, Martin! He's coming toward us! Quick, put your fingers by the bars.
MARTIN
Yes, dear.
JON
No need to be rude in front of the cats.
[SNORTING]
[PAUSE]
MARTIN
[softly, full of concern] He's very skinny, and it looks like there's spots where his fur isn't quite growing right.
JON
[equally soft] Just means we'll have to give him lots of love.
MARTIN
Well, we know you have plenty of that to go round.
[FABRIC RUSTLES]
MARTIN
H-hey! Careful there! Shoving me made Blackberry here unhappy.
JON
[muttering] Blackberry. [louder] We need to find them new names.
[LOUD MEOWING]
JON
[laughing] I think they agree.
MARTIN
So, we're taking them home?
JON
[happily] Yeah, we are.
MARTIN
I'll go get Tabitha, see what paperwork we have to do. Then I'll go get the carrier from the car. Hopefully, they'll let us get away with the one, since I wasn't expecting two cats. [voice gets softer] Although I probably should have, knowing you.
JON
He's a lot of bluster, don't worry. He's very happy with you both, too, I know.
[RUMBLING]
JON
Tim will have a field day, though. I don't know how I'm going to live this one down, not on top of him being right about Martin and I hitting it off on a blind date. [laughing] It's been four years, you think he'd let it go.
[MEOWING]
JON
Marmalade, you haven't even met Tim yet! Sasha will love you, though, she's always wanted a fluffy cat. Oh, and Georgie will be so jealous—she's still sad the Admiral never got as fluffy as she thought he would when he was a kitten.
[SOFTER, CROAKY MEOW]
JON
Why, hello there Blackberry. Yes, I'm more than happy to scratch your ears with my other hand. Four hands in our house means plenty of pets, that's for sure. And since both of our jobs have stayed work-from-home, there's lots of time for cuddling. Oh, well, you both seem quite good at that already. It's very sweet of you to clean Blackberry's head, Marmalade.
[CROAKY MEOW, RUMBLING]
[FOOTSTEPS COMING BACK]
JON
We really will need to give you better names. Don't worry, I've got a list—you'll just have to meow to tell me which ones you like. Sound fair?
[MEOWING]
MARTIN
Convincing them to go along with your plans already? Hardly fair, love.
[MUFFLED KISS]
JON
You know they'll love you more than me anyway. I've got to gain an advantage somehow.
[OFFENDED MEOW]
[LAUGHTER]
[FOOTSTEPS]
TABITHA
Ready to take these guys home?
JON
Absolutely.
TABITHA
Great! Let's get that paperwork done.
MARTIN
We'll be right back, and then, home.
[FOOTSTEPS RECEDE]
[RUMBLING, TWO SOFT MEOWS]
