ALRIGHT WE BALL. Time to get on with the story (i have a story planned thats. a real shocker. im ass at writing but ill get this drawn damnit I promise)

This argument is one that just needed to happen. Robbie cant think of the infected he's been killing as people because that would mean he has killed a truly UNCOUNTABLE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE. Lisa has done what she has to in order to survive, and that includes killing the un-infected (which, of course, to Robbie is totally unacceptable). So when he's trying to explain the difference it just comes across JUDGY AS HELL. They're both proud and defensive and bad communicators and the conversation goes BADLY.

This happens while they're on their way to the Beneviento house. Lisa basically goes 'Alright if youre so high and mighty go ahead and beat this one yourself then!' and fucks off back to Duke with the intention to kill as many Lycans in the way as physically possible. Robbie goes ahead to the SPOOKY NIGHTMARE HOUSE trust me I have plans for what he sees in there and its appropriately disturbing but it also spoils the ending I have planned for this whole thing so :) hang in there.

BUT he ends up having a BAD TIME when he's trying to head back and what @rokhal suggested slotted in SO VERY NICE HERE (i feel i have sufficiently LOST MY MIND over the fic you posted i am JKSL:FJSDFDS F UCk)

'Picturing Robbie alone in the Village foraging for gunpowder and cash (because it's a Video Game and they can't just hang out in Donna Benaviento's house throwing the creepy dolls in the river while waiting for rescue after reconnecting the phone lines, no, they have to wander around the entire map) and he's saving the herbs for Gabe and using all the chem fluid for sniper rifle ammo or whatever. And he's fighting off werewolves and it's fine because apparently his health regenerates like mana because he's made of mold.

But as he's wandering around it starts to get harder and harder to remember how much cash and scrap he needs. And he keeps missing shots. And then he gets a little turned around but now he's lost and there's more fkn werewolves, and he's seriously low on ammo and he just wants to get back to Gabe, but he needs to regroup and his hands are numb so he tries to warm them at one of the villager's stoves.

And then he discovers that he's slowly turning into a mindless mold creature, and realizes that the only way to keep Gabe safe from him is to get really really really lost, so lost he'll never find his way back before something kills and eats him.

This does not work, but it does ensure that he is incoherent and barely recognizable by the time Gabe and Lisa track him down.'

Which is all MWAH. CHEFS KISS.

Anyway Robbie is gone for a WHILE and Lisa realizes that the puzzles she needs to solve to move the fuck on require 2 people so she's stuck killing any lycans that stray too close to Dukes camp and hanging out with Gabe. UNTIL, of course, Gabe decides yeah no fuck this fuck that Robbie has been away for WAY to long and I'm going after him. Only problem is that Gabe's abilities are kinda rooted too wherever his sclerotia pods (is adding pods to that redundant? whatever we ball) have had enough time to take root and grow. Meaning, despite her anger towards Robbie at the moment, if Lisa doesen't want Gabe caught, dragged to Mother Miranda and dismembered, she's gotta go with him (also featuring @moosemonstrous hilarious idea of her being proud of Gabe's attempted intimidation).

When they DO track him down he's barely awake. He keeps wandering in one direction then looks like he wants to turn around and go another but he keeps FORCING HIMSELF to go the other way (generally I think he would be a decent bit stronger, but fighting his instincts this hard make him seem more aimless. Robbie is borderline unstoppable when trying to get to his brother, but right now he's NOT trying to get to his brother. you feel me?). Lisa goes up first to make sure he's not going to lose his shit or something. He basically falls onto her with the single saddest "m'sorry" ever heard on planet Earth. If it's for FALLING on her or if its for the CONVERSATION earlier, Lisa isn't quite sure. But it's been years since anyone has apologized to her for anything and thats enough for her to decide she should at least sling him over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes back to Dukes camp.

They make it back to the Dukes camp and give Robbie a couple of med kits (GOOP JUICE!!!!!) and he's a little more coherent. He's still trying to stay away from Gabe even though everything in him is saying 'STAY CLOSE' but he's got SOME brain space available because at least he's in line of sight now. Scrambled brain time is not the BEST for trying at an apology but hey, Robbie isn't really known for his great ideas and he tries anyway.

They're on better terms after this. The communication is still weird but hey its them so everything is weird. Plus they get some extra bonding time because I also snatched rokhals OTHER suggestion of

'....Been thinking maybe The Duke has a recipe that would heal Robbie...requiring meat from a golden dancing fish and the breast of the blue bird that haunts the graveyard and the tenderloin of the magnificent boar that sires all the swine in the Village...or something. So Gabe and Lisa have to go hunting while keeping Robbie calm...'

Ah yes. the high end flesh of the Great Village Fuck Boar. Delightful.

Cause I mean he's BETTER but still not GREAT. I think now that he's with Gabe he would be unable to leave him again while like this. Gabe would HAVE to go with them (we can get >:] 'Robbie goes into an overprotective frenzy and sword hands himself to hack some poor lycan that got too close in half' its a good time [its not. sword hand is very disturbing to him])

Lab Coat AU

very self indulgent au (sometimes also kinda diary dump) bcs this major stressing me out and ghouls make things better… so might as well stress out the ghouls by projecting, also kinda manifesting 🤞

the idea came from talking about ghouls with @hypnoneghoul when we’re both in class 😬 and i thought ‘nuclear scientist dew with a messy bun in lab goggles’ then @alwaysjustmina asked me about it and she wrote a little something (thank you so much 🖤) and i ran with it… and it took a 90° turn bcs it ended up being different, though the coffee shop is still there and phantom also works there, but now rain is also a scientist and everyones a scientist and some are professors, and yeah, you get it

the general idea is that they’re all scientists working in the same building, though they have different topics and are working for different degree levels, but theyre close friends, even the profs are also nice and chill (unlike mine)

on the weekends they do various things, but often get together for some down time at zenith, copias bar. oh and they also often get lunch together at terzo‘s diner or snacks at the coffee shop phantoms working at

dew and rain are pining for each other (so said the other ghouls who have a bet going on, actually theyve been secretly dating since their fifth semester, and rain is planning to propose after they’re both done with their phds but dew got there first 😂, copia knows bcs rain was drunk)

copia and aether are dating, sunshine and mountain have been on several dates and we’re just waiting for mountain to ask her out, swiss is courting phantom and phantoms also crushing on aurora…

who else hmm… i kinda wanna have zephfrit but i have no idea how to connect their storylines… and cirrus cumulus… i have too many ghouls and no idea how to connect them 😭

-The poor bastard cannot focus on anything for the life of him, no matter how hard he tries

-One of the reasons why he has trouble with reading, he was never really able to focus enough to figure it out, as that’s something that takes a LOT of time and a LOT of focus.

-Really talented artist tho! He loves drawing and keeps a sketchbook or two in his room! He likes to doodle before bed each night, it helps him calm down

-Somehow gay and homophobic at the same time

-Would absolutely lose his shit over the blue lobster meme no matter how old it gets

Soldier:

-My goofy ahh uncle

-The physical embodiment of “he a lil confused, but he got the spirit”

-Bro does not give a FUCK what anyone else thinks and I respect the hell out of that

-The men in his family were all in the military, which is one of the reasons why he’s obsessed

-secretly very insecure that he never actually made it into the official military

-Puts up a front so he can avoid feeling like a disappointment sometimes

-Solly is one of those people that sleeps like a LOG. Literally nothing can wake him up other than his own internal clock, which conveniently goes off at 6am.

-It is at this point in the morning when he goes around the base and attempts to make everyone else get up. Most are not pleased.

Pyro:

-He is my son

-I love my son so much I am so proud of him for just existing.

-He is from another planet, and the oxygen in our atmosphere has hallucinatory effects on members of his species

-Poor baby is basically in a haze 100 percent of the time :( but he does his absolute best!

-He literally only wants to spread peace, love, and flower power

-Fire makes him feel nice, because it’s bright and it’s warm. Fire is friendly and comforting. It helps ground him in this strange world.

-This guy is doing multiple jobs at once in addition to his demanding work as a mercenary.

-Chemistry EXPERT. Can he please help me with my chem 101 homework I literally could never. I know he’s smart because chemistry is fucking impossible and he loves the subject

-sometimes works with Engie to develop new types of bombs!

-My theory is that he turned to alcohol in order to cope with the chronic burnout he must be facing by working so many jobs at once. Just helps him check out of life for a while, but unfortunately that comes at the cost of his liver.

-Fr tho how the fuck is he even alive, he drinks HYDROGEN PEROXIDE at one point, which isn’t even related to alcohol at all, it’s literally just a poisonous chemical💀

-I have reason to believe he now has epilepsy as a result of medic damaging his hippocampus while scooping his brain, I made a post about this a while ago if you’re interested in more details

-He is very much in need of a hug

-I love him so much

-You’re doin good lad

Heavy:

-One of the smartest people on the team, despite what you might perceive at first glance.

-The only reason he may sound “dumb” to some people is because English is his second language, and he has a very hard time speaking it.

-Fr tho English sucks, I have no idea how people learn it later in life on their own

-In the Russian dub of meet the heavy, he speaks a lot more eloquently. Definitely strikes me as the type of person to have a PhD in Russian literature.

-His dream was to one day become an author, but mercenary work got in the way because it was the best way to provide for his family overseas.

-He still writes from time to time in a small notebook he keeps by his bed, in the hopes that one day he’ll publish something

-He will

-The literal definition of a Bear

-His guns are his babies, he literally loves them like they’re his children.

-Honestly I feel that way about my PC so I get it😭

Engie:

-Also a very underrated character

-Ties with medic for Smartest On The Team

-Engie just puts his genius towards more practical (and less unhinged) use

-I mean clearly he’s not TOTALLY stable, he did cut off his own arm to attach the gunslinger

-Always felt the need to prove himself growing up. Because of where he’s from, people tended to assume he was kinda stupid based on stereotypes. He obviously ended up proving everyone wrong.

-Is autistic and has OCD. He needs to do things a certain way or he can get extremely upset, especially in his workshop. It’s his safe space that is not to be invaded unless he is expecting you.

-Acts like a father figure to pyro. Basically the only one who isn’t unsettled by him (other than maybe medic)

-He definitely takes pyro fishing on the weekends

-Very talented singer, but he’ll absolutely deny it if you tell him. He’s super humble about everything

-But nah everyone else always loves to listen to him sing and play the guitar when they’re all hanging out at the fire pit.

-He’s such a dad I love him

Medic:

-Medic is my wife

-Smartest member of the team along with Engie

-Actually very strong! He lifted soldier up by the collar in expiration date, and he’s gotta weigh at LEAST 250.

-Also carries around heavy equipment all day, and is STILL the second fastest runner on the team, only behind scout.

-Medic is actually a pretty big dude. It’s just hard to notice when he’s standing next to heavy who is an actual giant. I think medic is canonically like 6’1 or something. Big dude. Wide shoulder. Booba. 👍

-Of course he looks small when he’s near heavy, EVERYONE looks small standing next to heavy

-Bi medic Bi medic Bi medic Bi medic

-Contrary to popular belief, he DOES indeed have the title of “Doctor”. In order to get a medical license in the first place, you are required to complete med school and obtain an MD or DO degree. Licensure and degrees are two separate things. You can lose a license, but you can’t be stripped of the education you already learned. The title of “Doctor” comes with a degree, not a license, as we have seen with engineer and Heavy’s PhD’s.

-He’s autistic with a special interest in medicine! If he’s not actively in battle, his in his lab working on shit. He LOVES it. It’s basically the only subject he cares about (source: am autistic w/ medical special interest. Am I projecting? Maybe but oh well)

-He very clearly knows what he’s doing, even though his methods are kinda fucked💀

-He’s succeeded in literally raising the dead multiple times in addition to inventing all of his healing devices completely his own.

-Hangs out with Engie when he’s not working on stuff, they both enjoy building/inventing devices and they enjoy talking about their shared special interests. He is closest with Engie and heavy out of everyone on the team.

-The only one that knows pyro is an SCP

Sniper:

-Emotions are scary and Should Not Exist

-Also autistic! The man has literally no idea how to speak to other humans, and talks to himself constantly (am autistic, can confirm)

So I have written dating headcanons for Gareth in this post, but I have a few more :)

Also, oddly enough I'm kinda shit at writing headcanons but y'know what, it's fine. I hope you enjoy anyways :)

So we've established he likes physical contact

if you two are in the same classes he always sits next to you

and you two have been separated on multiple occasions for talking

and then he'll chuck balled up pieces of paper at you behind the teachers back

and when you uncrumple the paper, it says 'hi' or smth

so you write back and chuck the paper back at him when the teacher turns around again

and you'll go back and forth until you get caught

you two almost went a whole class period without getting caught

until Gareth, who was laughing when he threw the paper, miscalculated and ended up hitting the teacher in the back of the head

you of course, laughed

and the two of you ended up with detention

(but its totally worth it)

but when you two do sit together in class

or just at lunch

he's either holding your hand under the table, or tapping his fingers against your thigh

and when you kiss, his hands slip under your top and just rest against your skin

it drives you crazy and the little shit knows it

that's why he does it

he drives the both of you to and from school, even before you start dating

he likes to bunk off first period and grab cherry slushies with you

his first period is math, which he despises

which is kind of weird considering he loves chem

anyways yeah

so your attendance is kind of all over the place bc of him

(but if you ever complained or anything he'd turn into a model student real quick)

outside of school you hang out a lot

and on days when neither of you are busy, you go on cute little dates

they don't have to be anything fancy

in fact they could be super simple and spontaneous and you'll both love it

I'm izzy, and I'm a year 12 vce student based in melbourne, australia

this is my studyblr that i do try to stay active on, as it's hopefully going to provide some study motivation, which I severely lack.

The subjects I'm taking this year are physics, chem, general, english and viscom and i've already done methods 3/4

Some fun facts about me:

my favourite colour is purple but since thats kinda hard to pair with stuff my whole colour scheme for everything is blue/greens and neutrals :)

I'm not really sure what i want to do uni career-wise but we can worry about that later (that's next year's problem).

favourite music artists: new hope club, one direction, louis tomlinson, vansire :)

sports I like: i have like zero hand-eye co-ordination, so I swim (competed at my first ever nationals this year!) and run (casually) :)

I am a chronic, chronic procrastinator. I cannot emphasise this enough. i have written full 1000 word english essays on the day they're due which is good except for the part where that tells me procrastination is ok to do again...

1. So Uth spent quite a long time with the followers after his departure from the BoS. Spending a few years wandering the wastes and writing the history of discovered tribes and learning their healing techniques. He didn't take part in many major surgeries but tended the wounds with poultices and after care type things. Made sure people recovered and got back on their feet.

2. He is definitely the type to fall hard and fast. A 2 ton bag of bricks lol. He isn't even slick about it just teen romance staring lolll

3. He definitely is a mix, if he's feeling really confident he will come right up but if the person really caught his eye and notices they like him to he will play coy.

5. Oh the weirder the better! He is at heart a big pet dad and spoils them often!

6. Okay so going off the one above. If he likes you he is a tease and a flirt to no end. Absolutely does the hand touches and subtle things like that. They have his full attention whenever they want it. He makes them feel like the only person in the room.

7. His Fallout self is a little more rough around the edges. He still has his gentleness but he is ready to pull iron at a drop of the hat. That sort of gunslinger bravado with a field medic tender care and bedside manners. A man out for justice and what's right but isn't afraid to cut a bitch if that makes sense. I will say he doesn't raise his voice often. Only in situations in which he is very angry/upset. His tone otherwise is low and soft.

8. Oh boy what is this mountain of a man attracted to. Tbh he doesn't have a type per say. He is a flirt at heart but he falls for the eyes first and foremost. The story they tell and the way they see him. It's less a physical thing and more of an attraction to attitude and who they are/how they act. He does have a love for long hair though. Loves they way it frames people's faces.

9. He doesn't mind one bit if a partner has kids whether blood or adopted. Especially not in Fallout. To him the world's to big and to dangerous to worry about things like that. He knows what it's like to have a history. He'd love the little buggers.

10. Hehe I will do my best as I can. I can get rather bad at descriptions lol. Okay so Uth stands around 6-6 300lbs. He's always been a big man and tempered his strength with learning how to have a careful hand. His hair is a dark dirty blonde color. When down it falls to his shoulders but most often keeps it tied into a bun/tip knot. He is muscular in the arms but has a bit of a tummy (think body builder instead of dehydrated moviestar look) he wears roadleathers long worn and torn in places with a dark FotA overcoat. His eyes are a piercing blue and have a slight glow to them when in dark areas.

11. Favorite things to do in his spare time is read and/or make various notes and diagrams about the flora and fauna of the world. He has a skilled hand when it comes to realistic drawings.

12. Oh big pet name fan! He loves using them, calling others by them, and he will use the normal ones for sure but always thinks of a specific one for those he really cares about!

13. He loves stews alot and most communal foods. He's never one to eat alone. He likes to eat and share stories around the fire. he for sure loves Alcohol although he isn't much of a drinker. He likes to drink socially and appreciate the flavors. Chems on the other hand he tries to stay away from, even stimpaks, he knows they have their place but he is very careful about how he uses them.

welcome back to myself. hopefully, i won't need to welcome myself back again.

things are going insane, right now. there's around 2 months to my exam now and shit's kinda hit the fan. i have things to attend 7 days and of those, 4 days have tests, all with different portions. i've been stressed and overwhelmed, but i am confident that with proper time management and a pinch of discipline, i will get shit under control.

that being said, today was a decently productive day. i woke up around 9 am, and then studied chem for a few hours before i had my test. i then had a lecture (lectures are ending this week!) after which i stayed back and and studied physics for about 1.5 hours.

at home, i had my dinner and did physics for more 1.5 hours. i think i will go to sleep now but i actually want to do so much more. i want to get more shit done but it's already 12 am and i don't want to spend tomorrow tired. fuck off, my overly ambitious brain.

It wasn’t uncommon for Leo to be confused, but this was a whole new level of confusion. Girls were...complicated, at least for him. Even though two of his best friends were girls, he’d never been able to figure them out like Andre had been able to. He always seemed one step ahead of Leo. It might have something to do with the fact that Andre had two older sisters, while Leo had no sisters or even female cousins. Either way, it was a bit embarrassing for Leo, not that he cared at this point. If his friends didn’t know of his struggles with reading between the lines by now, they had bigger problems than Leo’s constant state of confusion. 

At least he’d always been able to understand guys. Or at least, he had. Physical education that morning had been strange. Leo had tried to talk to Andre, but he’d been distant and dismissive. Instead of waiting for Leo in the locker room, he’d rushed and made his way to the far side of the gym, opposite of where the two usually stood and waited for class to start. The whole class had been like that. 

Leo wasn’t sure what was going on, but he attributed it to Andre being preoccupied by his speech for Public Speaking the following class, or maybe distracted thinking about how his older sister had gotten engaged over the weekend, or something, anything, that could possibly explain his sudden distance.

However, Leo wasn’t the only person who noticed Andre’s strange mood.

Benji Pittman was someone Leo had known his whole life, but hadn’t spoken more than a dozen words to since they were partners on a project in sixth grade. That is, until Benji came up behind Leo in the hallway and tapped him on the shoulder.

“Hey, Leo, can I talk to you for a hot sec?” he asked when Leo turned around.

Leo wasn’t sure what to say. His friend group had stopped talking to the Pittman twins when Logan and Benji started dating. He knew if Gina was here, he wouldn’t have stopped walking, but something had made him stop. Plus, he was curious as to what Benji had to say that was so urgent it needed to be said now, between classes. “Uh, sure.”

“Cool. You and Andre are friends, right? I noticed he wasn’t hanging out with you in gym, and I know one time doesn’t mean much, but, well, that’s kinda happening with me too. Logan’s flaked on me twice this week and she doesn’t stop texting during lunch, which is out of the ordinary for her, and I think I know why.” 

Leo nodded, but before he could open his mouth to say anything, Benji continued.

“You’re friends with Sammie Mckinney, yeah? She and I are in the same chem, with Logan and Gina. Of course, tensions between those two have always been high, but it’s worse than it’s ever been, and it’s only been since Sammie came here.”

The bell for the start of next class rang, and Leo started walking away from Benji.

“Look, I don’t know what me or Andre have to do with any of that, but we’re late for class now, so I should probably-”

“Dude, you don’t get it. Come on, I promise this makes sense. You just gotta listen. Please.” Benji seemed almost upset, or maybe just desperate. Either way, Leo knew that he should at least hear him out. If nothing else, it gave him more to talk to Mally about later.

“Fine,” he sighed. “Let’s go to the library and you can finish telling me.”

Benji agreed, and the two boys turned and started heading for the library, careful to avoid walking past the Economics class they were skipping. Once they got there, they headed to a table in a quiet corner.

Luckily for Leo, he didn’t see anyone he knew well enough to question why he wasn’t in class. When they sat down, he pulled out his laptop and a notebook to at least give the illusion he was doing something productive.

“Okay, so let me recap,” he said as Benji opened his laptop. “You think there’s a reason that Andre’s being weird, and it has to do with Sammie, which is why Logan is also being weird?”

“Yeah. So back to the chem stuff, tensions are super high, and I know that Logan and Gina don’t talk anymore, and by extension your friend group and me and Ellison don’t talk. I thought that meant Sammie too, because I kinda assumed you guys filled her in on all the drama, but she keeps coming over to our lab table to talk to Logan and vice versa, and Logan keeps texting Sammie. I know for a fact, because I’ve seen her notifications, plus she’s mentioned that she’s talking to Sammie a couple times.”

Leo listened intently as Benji explained all of this. “But what does this have to do with Andre? And what’s the issue with Sammie making friends?”

“It’s more than that,” Benji said in a more serious tone. “Logan hasn’t been calling me babe as much recently, which I’m not really complaining about, because I never liked that too much anyways, but it’s out of character for her. I asked Ellison what she was doing this weekend, ‘cause we were thinking about going hiking or something, and she said that Logan and Sammie were gonna hang out on Saturday and she might meet up with them. Don’t you see? El has always said that Logan says stuff that’s out of the ordinary for her. She’s suspected for a long time that Logan might be gay. Of course we don’t know for sure, and I kinda selfishly hope she’s not, because I really do like her, but my personal feelings are besides the point. The point is, I’m pretty sure they like each other, and we know how that ended last time.”

Leo nodded. The last time that had happened was over Benji, and it had set in motion the events that caused the rift between the former friends. At least, that was the story they’d all come to acknowledge, even though it certainly wasn’t the whole story. Leo barely knew what the real story was, not that he cared. He’d made up his mind about the situation long ago.

“So you’re saying that Gina likes Sammie, and Logan likes Sammie, and Sammie likes both of them, maybe, but Logan still has a boyfriend” – Leo gestured to Benji– “and it’s starting to play out just like last time?” he clarified. 

“Basically, yeah. If we don’t do something, poor Sammie’s gonna get trapped in the middle of the biggest girl fight we’ve ever seen.”

“Still don’t know what any of this has to do with Andre.”

Benji hesitated. “Andre is just trying to follow along with this whole mess, same as us.”

Leo could tell there was more to it than that. “No, what’s actually going on?”

“He’s friends with Gina and Sammie too, isn’t he? That’s all there is to it,” Benji insisted.

Leo may have been the most oblivious of his friend group, but he wasn’t totally stupid. He knew there was something Benji wasn’t telling him. He also knew that he couldn’t push his luck. Benji had already said a lot, more than he’d expected. If this was to be some sort of partnership, he couldn’t push the issue too much now. 

“Okay,” he conceded. “But why are you telling me?”

“I don’t want anything to go down between Gina and Logan, and don't think you want that either. The thing is, Gina and I still aren’t on speaking terms, and I don’t know Andre that well, so I can’t do anything without you and Mally. I need your help, and if you don’t want shit to go down, you need me.”

Benji stared at Leo, almost daring him to accept. He hadn’t said anything wrong, per se, but it was still a lot to process. 

The boys sat in silence for a long minute before Leo said, “Okay. What do we do first?”

Well, I don’t know how big of a thing it is here since I’ve only participated in two dissections in school lol. A lot of other people got to do like pig hearts or other organs like that but I don’t know what schools they went to or what science track they took bc admittedly I had biology during distance learning and took chem last year. I just happened to take anatomy this year bc I did NOT want to take physics but I really like this class.

I’ve never talked about the dissection we just did in detail bc it feels idk weird to talk about on tumblr bc of what we dissected it grosses a lot of people out so uh idk

We dissected cats which was super shocking to everyone tbh but I was super excited bc I like dissecting things. Dude I get so cocky about loving gore and stuff and being okay with dead stuff or whatever.

The first day of dissection my teacher was trying to demonstrate something and needed a volunteer and because I’m cocky n everything I volunteered and she had me hold the (wrapped in a plastic bag) cat, and these cats are skinned already to save us some time bc otherwise we would’ve had to skin them. So they didn’t have skin. I’ve never seen dead animals like this. Especially not a dead cat. She had me hold it. Lua I almost passed out I had to lean against the counter (I didn’t pay attention to what she was saying). It’s a little funny but ooohhhh that was a feeling.

Since it’s for like anatomy class we obviously had to do like anatomy stuff n like these cats were skinned which is. Very weird. And also preserved so like smells like chemicals. One dude in my group literally did not touch the cat once while I was the one consistently manhandling it LOL I would pick it up and move it around when putting it away n stuff. It was kinda heavy too. Like that was a workout.

The reason we did cats was bc the muscles r most similar to human muscles and my high school anatomy teacher unfortunately cannot get human cadavers lol.

It was really fun tho I really really enjoyed it except for being tested on it, that kinda sucked. It was also not necessarily a competition but me n the other girl in my group were both so into it so it was a constant back and forth of taking turns cutting stuff that we had to cut. Cutting off the fascia from the muscles was genuinely kinda fun except when we don’t know what to cut </3

But opening it up was genuinely the most fun part bc mmmmmmmmmmm organs. It was so. Full. And the abdominal cavity just opened right up and I was so surprised that nothing was really like attached to the wall or anything, I expected it to be similar to the fascia on the muscles but it just opened it up and oh, organs. It was super cool. The small intestines felt so mmmmmmm.

They felt good to run your fingers through and they fell together against each other easily where they were supposed to be. Everything fit together. We also had to break the ribs open to get the thoracic cavity open (mmmmmmm bones) but we just cut through the sternum which was a jarring feeling bc that doesn’t seem like you should be able to cut it open like that!!! But ooouuughhhh yea it changed me.

It was such an interesting experience I loved it so much getting to see inside. Our superior vena cava got blown out when they were preserving the cat so we didn’t have that in ours LOL. They injected dye into the veins and arteries so we could tell the difference. There’s something so… visceral about scraping at the internal dorsal wall of a cat, the intestines pushed out the way and your gloves covered in loose tissue and digging for the veins/arteries to separate them. I wonder if I have a pic of the veins bc I got them SO clean and well defined it. Ough. Thinking of the veins.

I’ve only other dissected a worm so I’ve not done it often but the cat dissection we did was so much fun. I cut open the trachea at the end and that was. An experience. I have a very distinct imagined feeling of what it would feel like to sink your teeth into a trachea just from that experience. Sawing it open sounded similar to running your nail down the teeth of a comb. It was weird. And just a hollow tube.

Hi I'm the anon who asked for the exam advice

The specific topics I'm struggling with in chemistry is organic chemistry and from physics it's waves, superposition and d.c circuit

I don't like chem and physics but I want to become a psychologist so I have to have these subjects

Ig all the stress has just been weighing on me too much, I'm sorry for bothering you with my problems...

This'll be a tiny bit lengthy, so I'll put it under a cut ^^

Well, organic chemistry is quite large as a whole, so I would suggest first identifying what in it is causing you most problems. When it was about for example identifying structures in organic compounds that will take part in a reaction, the names of these groups that take part in reactions, what these reaction types are called, and so on, I would suggest making a table. I find it that when I need to make something (such as a table or answer a question myself, rather than seeing/reading it), I remember it better. And organic chemistry is mostly about remembering and identifying based on what you know imo. But also, in some cases it helped me to think about a compound as a physical structure. As in, if some portion of a molecule is "crowded" that there is a lot of side groups concentrated into an area, for example, the fact that it's crowded can have a shielding affect, and thus make it more difficult for those groups to react. That's why for example reactions in a carbon chain, usually take part in the begging and the end of the chain, because there's more space for other molecules to come there.

Waves are also a very difficult topic, since there are so many different types of waves to consider. But I think that for these two things, visual representations helped me the best. Because, while reading theory, there is very little grasp of what is actually going on. That's why I really do recommend youtube, or other teaching videos. Physics really is one of those things, in which I found it best if there were real life example of some phenomenon.

And, I know that you want to do your best, and while I do think that it is wonderful that you want to do your best and you *should* do your best, you should also be merciful to yourself, especially when you know that it's not something that you'll be working in the future (because it doesn't interest you). So, do your best, and if you can honestly tell yourself that "I tried, and I did my best with what I had, everything considered with what was going on in my life, and this is what I got." Because no one can demand more from you than your very best.

No worries love. Handling with stress is a skill that takes time to learn, and stressing about it does tell you that you care. But I do encourage you to also be merciful to yourself.

Just, take a deep breath, and try to take it one thing at a time. Many things, especially larger concepts, seem overwhelming when you look at it as the total amount of it. But it really is taking one thing at a time. Kinda like... see the trees from the forest.

Hellooo! I missed yesterday's post so here I go. Skl wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, only had eng,chem and bio. Didn't do much in eng, in chem we just revised polymers and metals and kinda had a self study period for the rest of class which I obvi didn't use to study lol. Bio we did 2 ws and it wasn't too challenging I managed to complete them. I skipped( most of the class did lmao) p.e coz we basically did nothing and I could use that time to do other accountable things so yea that was it for skl. Came home and binged " The summer I turned pretty" and OH MY GOD IT WAS JUST SO GOOD. I mean there were some differences between the book and the show but still- if u haven't watched it yet, GO.WATCH.IT. was satisfied that I finished the show so, I did some bio and physics electromagentism.

Today was just uneventful. Had all my boring classes except for bio ofc. Phy was idk....my brain stopped functioning when we started learning abt transformers. Maths we revised sets AGAIN and bio we did another rev ws but it was actually fun? Had a severe breakdown after skl and on top of that our chem teacher surprised us by telling that we r gonna have a test on org chem tmrw:D funnn. Did nothing except for spending like 30mins on my eng hw and revised chem for 3hrs and gave up on polymers. Yea that's pretty much for today, I'll probably keep u guys updated on the chem test(that is if I do well on the test)

I read seven books last semester and four this semester.  I was on a roll this school year.  Not sure if I’m gonna finish the Iliad though.  The story seems interesting, but I may give it a try as an audiobook.  I can’t read it in my head as fast as most books without losing interest, so there’s a theatrical element in my head when I’m reading it, but that can get tiresome.  I think I’d like to have someone else just tell it to me.

Even though I’m taking three bio courses (no chem, no physics, finally, just me n my majors) next semester, I hope that having one of them online will lighten the load quite a bit.  Like I’m looking forward to almost all of my classes (I’m taking dev bio bc I have to (it’s not a required class but it’s in a category from which I have to choose one course)) which is nice, but so much science in one semester is probably going to be pretty difficult without the break of a more flexible online class.  Also I won’t have to worry so much about dreadful Mondays next semester which is something to look forward to.

I’m kind of all over the place today but there’s this award that my uni gives to one graduating senior each year and like,,, I was reading the blurbs from the finalists and they’re literally insane.  These students do so much it made me tired just reading about it.  And I won’t lie, a very small part of me was disappointed in myself because there’s no way I’ll manage to even be a finalist for that after receiving the middle school and high school equivalents.  I don’t really regret my choices, and it’s not really something I was shooting for anyway.  Besides, I’m getting two degrees for free, so.

I finally watched The Batman and I really liked it!  Even though no one cares, here’s a rundown of my thoughts throughout:

DC really goes hard on “the true villain was the mental health we tanked along the way” and also “if you don’t care for your citizens’ needs they will do Stuff Like This” and nobody listens but it’s the truth

I went to see The Planets with my sister and the only one I could recognize by name was Jupiter because it’s the only one I’d heard before (on Wolf359, actually).  The orchestra was fantastic, by the way.  However, despite Jupiter being this bold, brassy tune that’s easily recognizable, I felt that it was the least musically complex of the movements.  I can’t recall which one off the top of my head was my favorite (I was sort of just breathing it all in, less so thinking about ranking the movements), but I don’t think it would be Jupiter, actually.  It was the most fun because I knew it; it was the one I was excited to hear the most, but the others were also composed so thoughtfully.

Also my sister and I were two of very few non-retirees in the concert hall, so there’s that.  That was my first symphony orchestra concert (as an audience member).  Wild.

Today I’m thankful for all As and a B and that I’ll never have to take another class in the chemistry department at my uni ever again.  And good riddance to the physics department too.  I mean I love learning.  Even with chem, it’s rare that I don’t enjoy learning the material (exceptions: chem labs and orgo II which felt like mechanism memorization almost entirely (tbh, biochem II was much like orgo II in that sense when compared to their prerequisite counterparts (but despite my inability to do incredibly well on the exams, I still enjoyed biochem II))), but physics sucked me almost dry and I hated that.  So good riddance.

My boyfriend asked if I’d join him for a chamber concert duet in the fall.  Obviously I said yes.  Lowkey excited. [edit: I feel the need to clarify that there are associated worries but I am willfully choosing not to give them any airtime]

I have a fic that’s been sitting in my drafts since August that literally only needs 800ish words to be complete 😭😭 stem isn’t so bad but I’m currently doing chem and bio and chem is kicking my ass while in bio I have to bird watch for 9 hours for lab 💀 anyways, thank you so so muchhh!! charles leclerc (he first appears in season two iirc). he drives for ferrari and has five wins to his name but he will get so many more just you wait and see!!!!! he is the loml. have a picture of him on my phone case. cried actual tears about him when i saw him lose his win in silverstone 2021 and some poor man was like “it’ll be okay” to me while i was crying in the grandstand djsjbs. he is the best driver next question (reminds me of jisung. a little cute, a little dumb, so talented other people want to hate him for it but can’t since he’s so cutie) enemies include: his own team, max verstappen, lewis hamilton, but mostly his own team. fr. his team.

george russell. a walking meme but also extremely extremely talented and he’s the most british to ever british. he can be a bit of a dickhead but in a hot way you know? he currently drives for mercedes but in season three you’ll see him in williams and him getting to mercedes was like everything i wished for since they’re a super good team (used to be. these things changed and now he’s in a bad mercedes djdjbd) he has one win to his name. enemies include: lewis hamilton, his boss, teamlh (lewis’ fandom), and before he arrived at mercedes his enemies were literally just his car. but his car is still kinda his enemy.

oscar piastri. my aussie child. he won’t be in drive to survive until the new season arrives since he was a rookie last year! he doesn’t have any wins yet of course but he won three previous championships in a row which has never been done before so he’s the real fucking deal. him, charles, and george are the only ones to win f3 and f2 as rookies so they’re my golden trio <3 (he’s a bit like seungmin with his deadpanness and how he works so so hard for what he has!) enemies include: alpine. that’s a hilarious joke which hopefully you’ll understand soon djsjdb but he’s too new to have known enemies.

max verstappen. everyone hates him but he’s my lil meow meow my little menace my serial killer who i’d go to jail to see him walk free. he has like forty wins? and now he has three championships too! so he’s amazingly talented. by all means except physical he is exactly like minho. misunderstood cat boy (he has two!) who is so so good at what he does but everyone thinks he’s mean when actually he’s just a soft boy who’s face lights up when he makes someone he likes laugh <333 enemies include: everyone but mainly lewis hamilton in 2021, charles leclerc in 2019 and 2022, and usually his own teammate.

lewis hamilton. i don’t like him, next. he’s important though because he won seven championships and has 103 wins so he’s like the best ever or something i don’t like him though he beats my boys and that makes me angry. (remind me as bts as a fandom concept. can’t deny the talent but some of the fans… eye twitches..) no visual because he’s hot and that too annoys me. enemies include: everyone.

there’s all sorts of other guys but you’ll see them on the show if you ever get around to watching it! and i don’t wanna infodump too much either jdjsns

Reflection:

There is so much more to life than romantic status, in any reality.

It’s a valid focus, and I certainly take it seriously, but that’s circumstantial.

I refuse to associate anyone’s value with their romantic status, period.

The two could not possibly be more unrelated.

And for that effed opening breakup sob story, wtf was she doing mourning some lowly creature who was clearly unworthy of her?

Those are my feelings.

But she swapped one loser for another, so that’s not much of an improvement.

Accolades and appearances are unromantic.

To be clear, those boys are likely perfect for other girls—just not the protagonist.

But she doesn’t seem interested in genuine love and intimacy, or they don’t exist in that reality.

Such a bogus story, but sadly a real one in a real reality.

It’s out there for you aggressive types, so have at it if it looks like a nice next destination.

Kinda makes me want to create a matchmaking reality, but that’s beyond my active scope.

I need a palate cleanser, and it isn’t enough to just watch a different show.

I need to find a way to calm down.

What would I have preferred?

Since he was already 999, he would’ve had time to devote to her.

Given his romantic virgin status and friend count, he should’ve dropped everything for a minute to be kind and gentle with her.

She was beautiful and hurting, which is a lovely ice breaker for someone more refined.

A conversation like that could have provided him with all sorts of insights into her preferences and mannerisms.

He should have been immediately mesmerized and enamored.

This is, of course, because it is catalogued as a romance and has “romance” in the title.

She should’ve been the one to convince to be open to romance, especially just after breaking free of that awful chemistry she had before.

She should be relieved to part ways and thankful that he found soneone else to spend his life with.

She shouldn’t be so quick to advance on such a cold-hearted person for his looks.

When we re-emerge and can all change our looks at-will, where is the value in being stuck with the same cold entity?

Now that the physical appearence playing field has been leveled, what is that person bringing to the relationship?

It’s one thing if you’re both coldly focused in the same direction. I consider that excellent chem.

But if one of you is like that and the other is overly sentimental and was hanging on for their looks, the entire precedent has vanished.

There are far better matches for both of those people out in existence.

Same for material possessions.

You can create and conjure anything at-will without relying on another creature, without being stuck following another’s rules.

I’m certain there are specific environments where I personally want to rely on Seth to make choices for both of us, but that comes with a very strong foundation of trust.

It would be different if some wealthy suit tried to pull me into a limo as I walked the city streets.

I would immediately recognize his intentions to pay to “upgrade” my appearance and keep me as some sort of pet, and I would run in the opposite direction as quickly as I could.

Money is not trust.

Appearances are not trust.

Trust is trust.

Honesty is trust.

Loyalty is trust.

Keeping your word is trust.

And to me, that’s far more romantic than a box of chocolates, a sportscar, a bottle of champagne, or an evening gown.

If I can feel good about who someone is both in receptive and focused modes, then we’ve got something really, really great.

That’s romance.

Pick the person who makes you happiest in this lifetime, then watch loving them give them the inspiration to turn even more beautiful once they re-emerge.

Then your best friend becomes your fairytale.
