Samhain Mulled Cider
Apple Cider ( I got caramel apple)
Cinnamon Sticks
Orange
Pumpkin Pie Spice
In a crockpot put your cider, cinnamon sticks , and pumpkin pie spice. Slice up an orange and put in a few slices then squeeze the rest of the juice into the crock pot. Simmer on low for 3-4 hours. Serve warm.
If you are lucky to have access to mulling spices then feel free to use those. Pumpkin pie spice is just a ground mix of those spices.

This a very fun salad to make! If you don't have all the ingredients you can always substitute things for things you already have in your pantry.
If you want the salad to be a meal, you can always add some grilled or fried chicken, tofu, or pork on top and it will be delicious!
Ingredients:
Arugula Salad with mixed leaves (As much as you want)
1 bunch of Tri-colored carrots (sliced diagonally in halves)
1/4 cup cooked quinoa
1/4 cup chopped almonds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
1/2 red onion (chopped)
1 sweet potato
Sesame Seeds (To top)
Poppy Seeds
Dressing:
3 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup Olive oil
Salt and pepper
Parsely
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp maple syrup
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
Cook your quinoa according to the directions on the package. Cover carrots and sliced sweet potatoes with oil, and salt and pepper. Bake at 400 F for 20 minutes.
In a large serving bowl add your arugula, tri-color carrots, sweet potato, red onion, cooked quinoa, pomegranate seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, chopped almonds, and anything else you'd like to add.
To make the dressing mix all the dressing ingredients together until combined. Add as much salt and pepper as you'd like.
You could also top your salad with feta cheese, along with any dressing you like.

Happy Mabon!! 🍂🍎
Hi, I have another recipe for you! This time it’s Caramel Stuffed Apple Cider Cookies (source: https://awesomeon20.com/caramel-stuffed-apple-cider-cookies/)
Tumblr media
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 cups flour
1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
1 cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 box (10 packets) instant hot apple cider mix
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bag caramels
In a small bowl, gently whisktogether baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and flour until combined. Set aside
With a mixer, cream together butter, sugar, salt, and apple cider mix until fluffy.
Mix in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla.
Slowly add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix on low until just combined. Make sure you give everything one last stir with a spatula to be sure that it's mixed all the way through and there's no flour on the bottom of the bowl.
Refrigerate the dough for at least an hour.
Preheat your oven to 350 F (175C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. You'll definitely need it.
Unwrap your caramels, and resist the urge to eat them. I use my cookie scoop, which is about a tablespoon to scoop out the dough. Press your thumb into the center of the ball to make some space, then press a caramel right into the center and mold your dough around the caramel to seal it in.
Place your cookie dough encased caramel on your cookie sheet, and just keep creating these little beauties until you fill it up. Place the cookies about two inches apart. They'll spread quite a bit. Store the dough in the fridge between batches.
Bake at 350 for about 13 minutes or until light brown around the edges.
When you pull the cookies out of the oven, pull your parchment paper or silicone mat off the cookie sheet right away. Allow the cookies to cool completely, then give them a gentle twist to pull them off the mat or parchment.
Hope you enjoy!! ☺️ I think they look really tasty!!!
blessed be xx

Basil Lime Sugar Cookies
This is another recipe for kitchen magic. Basil is super helpful with just about anything- protection, health, joy etc. Mixed with lime I would say these cookies are good for a pick me up and can be charged to be a mood booster.
Tumblr media
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of butter (softened)
1 1/2 tsp lime juice (to taste tbh)
1 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
1 3/4 cup of all purpose flour
1 egg
3/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
Fresh finely chopped basil (I used like 10 leaves)
1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F
Beat together butter and sugar until combined
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt
To the butter/sugar mixture add egg, lime juice, vanilla extract, basil and salt. Mix
Slowly add dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix until combined. Dough should not be sticky to the touch
Line cookie sheets with parchment paper
My cookies did not spread out too much so you can place them relatively close on the tray. Just roll into a ball and place them wherever (May differ for yours so calculate your own risks)
Bake for 15-17 minutes until slight golden color at the bottoms. The cookie itself should stay pretty light so look for cracks along the top.
Let cookies rest on baking tray for two minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Additional Notes:
With any kind of kitchen magic it is what you make it. I charged all of my ingredients before baking and while mixing thought of the intentions I wanted behind them. They were quite literally made with love.
Merry Yuletide Loves!

Samhain (Faux) Sourdough
"Bake this for loved ones, bring it to a potluck, or leave it out for offerings. (Makes excellent pizza dough as well.)
2 to 3 sprigs rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) for clarity, transformation, honoring the dead, seeing ghosts, banishing sadness
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup Greek yogurt
1 to 2 teaspoons olive oil
Optional: 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic for protection
Preheat oven to 350°F (177 degrees Celsius).
Pour olive oil into a custard cup and add garlic, if desired. Stir and set aside.
Add Greek yogurt to a mixing bowl and slowly incorporate self-rising flour until mixed. Kneed another minute until well incorporated.
Roll out dough on a floured working space into a flatbread. Transfer to a baking sheet or stone.
Brush top of the dough with the olive oil. Strip the rosemary leaves from the stem and sprinkle on top of the dough. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown."

Book Review: Wild Witchcraft by Rebecca Beyer
Tumblr media
TW: Alcohol mentions and tallow mentions. Poison Path things as well. This is: Wild Witchcraft by Rebecca Beyer Rating: 9/10 Pros: An amazing outlook into animism, herbalism, and foraging in a safe, sustainable and non-appropriative way! The instructions on how to garden were very to the point and explained some complicated ideals in an easy to digest way, I think one of my favorite quotes from the book that stuck with me while reading was,
“Just when I think magic has been cut down and paved over; a dandelion has pushed it’s way out of the cracks in the cement.”
I hope that quote helps you understand what sort of writing to expect out of this book! As someone that grew up learning planting from my Papaw who took classes on the subject after getting out of WWII through a governmental program and was a farmer before that, some of the information on growing was things I already knew. But for a beginner just looking into ‘wildcrafting’ or foraging or just plain growing your own herbs for witchy things?
Get this book.
The author, while an herbalist, breaks down each plant she mentions and includes plenty of warnings and suggestions for use both magical and holistically. She covers the poison path in a very easy to understand way while making sure you understand it’s not a beginner’s thing, and certainly not one to take without serious consideration first. The author takes careful note of Indigenous practices and makes sure to drive it home that their voices are to be heard over anyone else’s when it comes to taking care of American land. There are so many rituals and remedies included in this book that I have a feeling I’ll be referencing it quite a lot, and not just for the gardening and foraging tips!
Did I mention the entire 11 pages of a bibliography in the back?? No? Well there’s that too. My academic heart is thrilled.
Cons: Honestly? The only real con I have is that the author spends a chunk of time going over the Wheel of the Year which is a wiccan construct in a book that otherwise doesn’t have any wiccan imagery or practices up until this point. It feels…weirdly thrown in? But she also includes multiple folk traditions that were common amongst those particular time periods so…it is worked in but it still feels a little odd and jarring to me.
The author also mentioned the use of tallow as a commonly used oil for salves, which is correct but some people are uncomfortable with the idea and I understand that! Since the author has tincture recipes as well she does mention the use of alcohol in steeping purposes.
Overview: Animism, foraging, herbalism, and being safe to the environment. Good stuff all around!

Tumblr media
You can now pre-order the queer holiday novella To Drive the Hundred Miles by Alec J. Marsh!
Serendipity, WA is filled with Christmas cheer, beautiful mountain views, and trans man Will’s feminist Wiccan family. Home for the holidays, he avoids their clumsy attempts at support by hiding in the local coffee shop and flirting with Bea, a friend from high school.
The beautiful landscapes can’t make up for the the realities of being queer in a small town, and Bea wants out. Will grabs for a prosperity spell, and finds a new way to connect to the magic he’s become estranged from. New romance and optimism get them through the holidays, ready to face their next problems.
Author Alec J. Marsh describes his novel To Drive the Hundred Miles as a Hallmark movie made queer. With a trans male protagonist and an immersive first-person point of view, this novella will draw you in and hold your attention from start to finish. The Green Witch
by Arin Murphy-Hiscock
Tumblr media
So I got this book a while ago, like 3ish years and read bits and pieces, but I finally decided to read it in full.
Honestly, I had a hard time resonating with this book since the author used She/Her pronouns for the entire book "Out of convience" and the book was from more of a Wiccan perspective and I'm not Wiccan.
But let's talk about what I liked and didn't like about this book.
Here's the table of contents (please ignore the highlighted stuff that was from like 3 years ago) :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So here's what I liked. There's a lot of very useful introductory information. There's actually a lot that I want to research more on or add to my book of magic. It's great if you're getting introduced to Green Witchcraft and herbalism. There's recipes and rituals in the books. Steps to help attune yourself with different parts of nature.
However, I do believe there are much better books on Green Witchcraft and especially Herbalism out there that are better to buy even if you are starting out, I'll recommend books at the end of this. I don't like how herbalism feels watered down, and I don't enjoy the Wiccan feel to it or the fact that it exclusively uses she/her.
I think this can be a good springboard to your path of green witchery or if you're just learning about it.
I haven't had the chance to read these books but I've heard really really good things about them:
• Plant Witchery
• Witches Herbal Primer
Final Thoughts
I liked the book but just really didn't resonate with it. I wouldn't immediately recommend it, but it's not a bad book. It has a lot of basics and associations. I do think it's a good starter book to help you get into Green Witchcraft and Herbalism.
Have a beautiful day. I hope this post helps you guys ♡♡♡

Community does not need this!! But they’re loud in the comments about how harmful this could be for the community and divination and other spiritual practices and traditions! Thankfully!! I was just talking about spiritual psychosis on my close friends on Instagram yesterday and then I see things like this and post just went viral of some woman absolutely losing it, snot running out her nose and everything over the eclipse.
The fear mongering and demonization of spiritual teachings, astrology, tarot and spiritual practices and traditions is about to start becoming very big. It was already a really prominent thing oppressors have used for ages especially against poc who practice forms of witchcraft or deity worship they brought with them from home. I was just watching a docu-series yesterday that highlighted how the native population on mt. Shasta were forced to leave and practiced ritual and held ceremonies in the caves of mount Shasta and those who colonized would go into those caves after they left and preform mockeries of their ceremonies and rituals as entertainment.
We’re about to step into a reality and time where spiritual people, practitioners and others within the community will be replacing celebrities and individuals of high rank or people who hold a lot of power in this world and I said before that the oppressor has a very specific recipe for oppression and trying to keep people (especially in the west) as unaware and as stuck in perpetual karmic cycles and systems as much as possible. And this is just yet another technique they use to discredit individuals with gifts. They use psychics and astrologers and others themselves to help them predict and interpret what’s coming.
They use these types of stories or ideas to fuel radical religious beliefs and ideas that are built upon fear mongering and hatred, they use religious institutions and manipulated versions of their Bible and beliefs and create division within the west. Vast majority of republicans are statistically uneducated and are conservative who hold onto heavy religious beliefs and views to back up, support and justify their actions and beliefs. Heavily similar to antebellum America and the justification of slavery and the mistreatment of African American people.
youtube
To add onto that, this movie about tarot does not accurately portray what tarot really is and how it works whatsoever but guess who’ll believe it and perpetuate it. Half the negative ideas that are swirling around about metaphysical, Wiccan or spiritual practices are due to pop culture and horror movies and the individuals who sit at their desks in the dark scribbling away these plots and releasing these movies.

Happy Lughnasadh!! 🌞🌾
Here’s a recipe I wanted to share with you for Lughnasadh/Lammas!! (source: https://www.punchfork.com/recipe/Blackberry-Lavender-White-Chocolate-Scones-Half-Baked-Harvest)
Blackberry Lavender White Chocolate Scones
Tumblr media
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries (no need to thaw, if frozen)
1 tablespoon dried lavender
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/2-1 cup white chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2 cups powdered sugar (to your taste)
12 tablespoons cold salted butter, shredded (just like cheese)
3/4 cup cold cream or buttermilk, plus more for brushing
1/4 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 large egg, beaten
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add grated butter and toss in with the flour, doesn't have to be perfect, large crumbs is perfect. Add the cream or buttermilk and egg. I combined the beaten egg and cream first and then added to flour mix. Mix until just combined, DO NOT OVERMIX. Fold in the blackberries and white chocolate chips, expect blackberries to burst as you do this.
Put dough on floured surface, pat into a 1-inch-thick square. Cut into 9 squares which will be your scones sizes. Place each square on a baking sheet and then brush a bit of cream on each scone. Do not overcrowd your baking sheet, do in batches if needed. Bake for 20-22 minutes until golden brown. You can test with a toothpick as well to be sure they are baked completely.
For the glaze. Warm milk and butter in a small saucepan that's set over medium (low-medium) heat. Heat until steaming about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the lavender. Then cover and steep for 5 minutes. Strain the milk through a fine mesh strainer and then discard the lavender. Stir vanilla and powdered sugar into your lavender mix.
Serve warm with glaze drizzled on top. You can add a bit of butter, but these are great on their own!
Enjoy your Lughnasadh if you celebrate!!
Blessed be xx
