-it's like the middle of the lecture and both of you are clearly bored

-he's spent the last 10mins trying to get you to look at him using some type of telekinesis (which of course didn't work cuz you were too focused on biting your pencil)

-and you've been scribbling in your notebook(you've been sketching lyney<3)

-suddenly, he decides to text you

-"hey, mon amour, what's up??? :))"

-and you can just feel his gaze on you as you see the notification

-"nothing really, i'm just bored and yeahhh just drawing smthn"

-"what are you drawing??? is it meee?????"

-you practically just know that he's seen your sketch by now. it's not like you two sit that far away

-"maybe" you reply to his text, turning off your phone, thinking he he'll stop texting you

-but then, you get more notifications. a lot. you turn off your sound for notifications and open your messages with lyney.

-oh boy, he surely was clingy.

-not that you had a problem with it

-the messages went like this:

-that was the line. you blushed and hid your face, but you made it look like you were "focusing on the lecture"

-he smiled at your reaction and texted you again

-"c'mon the teacher said 2 more mins"

-you just look at him and nod, as a sign of a "yes" and also a sign for him to stop texting you so he nods in return

-after those 2 mins, and the bell rings, you two meet in the bathroom, well, he was waiting for you there first

-"what did you want, lyney?" you ask him as you walk into the school bathroom

-"just... you~" he pulled you into one of the bathroom stalls and held you by the waist, his hot breath against your neck

-"dear archons... i've missed you for these 45 minutes..." he chuckled breathly into your ear, sending shivers down your spine while he smirked against your neck

-he kissed it softly and gently, making you squirm a bit

-soon enough, he was very touchy and very needy, all thanks to you.

Perfect

Zayn said he wouldn’t buy the record when he heard Perfect (so salty!). Harry's emotions varied performing it in its short 27 performance run from Oct-Dec when 1D ended. These 2 stand out:

November 20 2015, rather than sing the Bridge Harry said to the crowd "if you think it's so funny you can sing it".

3 days later at the AMAs he rolls his eyes and looks ready to walk out, the camera cuts to a kid who seems to agree. (Bridge is 2:40).

It was only performed 6 more times, in Carpool Karaoke (10:30) Harry stops singing for parts and the song cuts before the bridge, at the Jingle ball he looks away and the last time was new years.

Or this concert he put the mike into the crowd, someone stole the microphone and licked it.

Safe to say he regretted that bridge, it's savage to them both.

Writers

Perfect ties with Fools Gold for the title of the Haylor song with the most writers, at 7. While Fools Gold has all 5 of the band, Bunetta and Ryan. Harry and Louis are the only band members who worked on Perfect with Bunetta, Ryan and 3 others:

Jesse Shatkin, (cowrote Sia's Chandelier)

Jacob Kasher (Maroon 5 collaborator), and

Mozella (cowrote Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball and Fools Gold.)

To me, Perfect has more media grabbing pop-song than Harry Styles. HS’s best 1D work was with teams of 3 or 4 writers. In fact, Bunetta said Olivia came out in 45 minutes while overworking another "less good" MITAM song.

Timeline

Bunetta also told Rolling Stone about Perfect:

"That one took a long time, just because it was written over a couple different continents. It started as one thing and ended up where it is."

MITAM was made in the summer of 2015. To have been written in a couple of continents and with USA based writers it was probably either side of the BBMAs. It could have been started 'as one thing' in April in South Africa before the BBMAs other songs that reference Style including Two Ghosts started early in the year. The "ended up where it is" with those writers would be after the BBMAs, when they got back to the USA from July. This would be at the end of the album and he was singing it daily within 3 months.

Similarity to Taylors songs

It has the same chord progressions as Style and is also very similar to out of the woods as this video on Twitter shows. He called it a love song in the made in the AM interview (6 mins) and that it wasn’t literal in another. I do love this James Cordon bit and I love his Taylor smile so much.

Grapejuice, has the perfect (get it) call back to this verse, along with 'Red' and 'Pay for it' and I love him for it:

Promises come up again in Woman "Promises are broken like a stitches is", which is interesting if both Woman and part of Perfect are written after the 2015 BBMAs.

‘Know what you are looking for’ is interesting. In "Say don't go" and the 1989 TV Vaults in general Taylor did not get what she was looking for. At 23, dating a 19 year old Taylor told us she didn’t get wavy she needed. Her most recent ex, JG was 29. (yes - JG was the age Harry is now! Imagine if he did that) So I kind of stand by this line.

The start refers to the night they met. Which neither has ever confirmed, I think it was in 2011 (see timeline) Many look at the coat he tries on in the music video, which matches both his Up All Night Tour outfit (from December 2011) and the 2012 Kids Choice Awards. The awards are fun though. The Up All Night DVD also has it.

[Verse 2: Niall] I might never be the hands you put your heart in Or the arms that hold you any time you want them But that don't mean that we can't live here in the moment 'Cause I can be the one you love from time to time

Urgh I choose to attribute 'love from time to time' to one of the 6 other people writing this. To me this line always sounds like a boy-band heartthrob priority playing out in the writers room. No wonder it took time and HS1 to overcome this.

However, this does speak to a theme of them not being available to each other because of their careers and 1D punishing schedule. If I could fly's "I'm missing half of me when we're apart" and Half the World Aways " So you're not my girlfriend / Don't pretend that makes us nothing / Tell me you don't miss this feeling" speaks more honestly to the interplay of his band image, schedules and priorities which Taylor referred to Suburban Legends.

[Chorus: Harry, All] But if you like causing trouble up in hotel rooms And if you like having secret little rendezvous If you like to do the things you know that we shouldn't do Then, baby, I'm perfect Baby, I'm perfect for you And if you like midnight driving with the windows down And if you like goin' places we can't even pronounce If you like to do whatever you've been dreamin' about Then, baby, you're perfect Baby, you're perfect So let's start right now

Here are Haylor themes we know and love, Driving at midnight (Style, HYGTG, Wish You Would) generally going from a high schooler to superstar overnight (placed they can’t pronounce like Cannes), and hidden love/hiding (I Know Places, Slut!)

[Bridge: Harry] And if you like cameras flashin' every time we go out Oh, yeah And if you're looking for someone to write your breakup songs about Then baby, I'm perfect And baby, we're perfect

The camera’s flashing is good imagery and his voice brings to life how personally challenging it was for them both in a way I Know Places didn't with very few words. Taylor also refers to this imagery in Is it over now?

But the break up songs is a low blow and I assume the part he regretted to the point of not wanting to sing it. In a later interview Harry said:

“The only time you really think, ’is this song too personal?’ is if you think about, ‘is this going to be really annoying for the other person?’ Because I do [care],” he finished.

Which I think the break up song line would have been very annoying.

Manifest

Hello all! So this are my opinions about manifest. I just finished watching the show today (season 4 part 2) and I have some thoughts that I need to write. Mostly they are for me so I remember in the future not to watch this show again after the roller coaster of emotions that I just went through but I also hope that someone also thinks the same as me in some of the points I make. Anyway I just want to make a disclaimer to say that I know we all have different opinions and that’s okay! So here it goes guys my personal opinions about this show (good and bad). 👽

Negative points of the show for me:

- first of course Jared. He was a red flag throughout the entire show. Pissed me off every time he appeared. Always trying something with someone who didn’t wanted, always had doubts about him and had different vision of the future but he still insists in trying to be with her. (He also fucked her two best friends). (Couldn’t fuck the other bc was dead). Anyway that was all love 🙄.

- michaela really disappointed me this last season part 2 bc what the fuck was that ? That was so out of character! Last two seasons she was devoted to Zeke and then this season he was in the glow and bla bla bla and she went not even 5 mins later to be with Jared? Like what was the point of all that? It just made me hater and she was one of my favorites but like if you can talk about your dead husband with people and say he was amazing and made you be better and on the next shot you are fucking the other guy? Do not disrespect Zeke Landon like that (best character on the show)! At that point (do not even know what episode was like 5? 6? ) just be with Jared, you are both trash and deserve each other. (Attention: I love both actors! I’m happy that they are together in real life but his character was a giant red flag).

- how it ended. It was bittersweet for sure. I didn’t like it honestly. I was hoping some of them would be able to remember like Zeke and Vance and even Jared and Andrea. I was really sad about Olive and TJ but this last season they barely had scenes together! I was so confuse and sometimes they appear on the same frame but wouldn’t talk?? Like what happened? We’re the writers preparing us for the end?

- Eden. Most useless character ever. Was not needed at all. This season barely appear. Last season you could have put Angelina with other obsession and it would have been the same 🥱

- Older Cal. I really don’t have a motive to this one. I just don’t like older Cal. It was too weird to me.

- Andrea deserves better than Jared! Anyone at this point deserves better than someone as Jared. If any of you liked Jared and want a Jared please do the sacrifice then and thank you for your service! 😂

Positives:

- Zeke was an amazing character! Love him so much. His first appearance I was reluctant bc I thought he might be a bad guy but boy was I wrong. And I’m so glad I was.

- Vance. Such a bad ass character! Love him! Nothing else to say. (I was hoping he would remember at the end, was kind sad but the ending made sense).

- Olive grew so much as character after the first time she was introduced. I thought I wouldn’t like her but ended up loving her. Her story with TJ was so sweet before again the writers messed up. At this point I just think writers don’t know how to end shows bc they all end like shit.

- Troy. Second character but so good as well. I was hoping Sanvi would choose him instead of Ben bc Ben to me is weird. This guy named Troy who was introduced in the lad was always so sweet and caring. Love you Troy!

- TJ. Good character. A little erase in season 4 but I think the actor was doing other things which good for him ☺️. I like that he reunited with his mom but sad that he lost Olive. After Mick and Zeke they were my favorite couple.

- Sanvi. Crazy but I like her.

- last but not least a character that really surprised me. Andrea. She is a better person than me bc I would say fuck you Jared! She was an amazing friend to Mick even after everything. Such a bad ass as well. Love her!

The story itself was really good and I loved how everything was connected 😏 the characters love affair in this last season part 2 was so unnecessary that hurt to watch.

Angelina was such a good villain. The actress was amazing. Congrats to her did an amazing job I hope she is nominated for an award!

Eagen was always pissing me off but I like how it ended. The same with his friend. (Forgot the name)

To me the best couple is still Zekaela but for my peace of mind Mick never went after Jared after Zeke went to the final glow. It’s too out of character for me. Second fav if Olive and TJ so I will pretend they are still together.

(Note: I also don’t like Grace. 😂 I don’t know why but there’s something about her that I don’t like. Same with Ben. I can’t explain)

Anyway these are my opinions I might have forgotten some if so I will add later in a repost until then I can’t remember more.

Like I said the show is different for everyone, we all like different things and have different opinions which is great. 😌 I hope you guys liked the show, I did but after part 2 it’s definitely not a comfort show for me like I wanted and I will not watch it again 😂 but I did like the story, it was really well written that part at least. (On contrary of this text probably but it’s 4:30 AM and I had to take this off my mind, also English is not my native language so I don’t really care if there’s mistakes until the afternoon).

Wellness Wednesday:

All the Way May

May flew by and I had an absolute blast.

Been loving the warm weather, outdoor time, barbecuing, traveling, and... just everything in general - This month has been real good to me.

Things to note this month:

Had a massive yard renovation - love being outside now (well more than usual)

Guardians of the Galaxy - Great viewing experience

Got to visit family I haven't seen in a while

Got to partake in the Hot Ones Challenge - the whole experience was a hoot

....

...

and...

I hit my First Weight Loss Plateau.

Hitting that Weight Loss Plateau was at first... a bummer (especially after my last post where I stated "I Feel Unstoppable")... but... I was very aware it was coming down the pipe at some point / some time - I am actually amazed that I made it almost half a year with continual weight loss.

Also - I gained 1.4 pounds - nothing detrimental - and not to be gross, but that overage can essentially be cured with one bathroom break.... Oh boy... I just realized mid sentence that this is probably coming of weird like I might have bulimia... No, no, no... I am talking about taking a healthy dump.

Anywhosel...

I have no intentions of changing my current diet or workout plan unless to increase enjoyment.

Overall, May was just a real chill month - I've never been this relaxed. Hoping June and July follow suit - Looking for more good things to come.

This show is turning out to be the source of my family members eyeing me like I'm crazy because that is what this show has made me into . It takes me an hour to finish a 25 min ep cause I have to take time to breathe , then cringe and then feel . This is not a ride , this a rollercoaster .

My thoughts about ep 4 . . .

Hira thinks he is the only one who is so shocked that his heart might exploding , can somebody look at Kiyoi's face ? His sharp eyes soften and the stress of being a paticular character in his forehead lightens - he was so engrossed in his acting before but merely Hira's presence broke the mask . . .

Oh yes ! Finally we can see the Kiyoi going jelly jelly so bad . When he looks from the side of his eyes , he's totally questioning Koyama- with what right are you touching Hira ? My Hira ?

We weren't seeing much of Kiyoi POV as much all of us were assuming through his expressions but this question is filled with so much yearning . Like a tsundere way of saying - no matter how long it would take me to come around to you , how could you just cut contact out of no where ?

Soft boi Kiyoi is a fact that gets proven ever so slowly yet time and time again in this series . I WAS LITERALLY HITTING MY BLANKET INTO OBLIVION , why Hira , why are you so naive ? It's your charm but why ??? Kiyoi is low key asking you out and this otherwise always horny for kiyoi Hira says he's going home . Going to the pic at home when you have the real deal pining for you - Hira is embodying the naive maiden trope like there is no tomorrow .

When I saw Kiyoi's hopeful pining eyes turn annoyed ,I was like ME TOO !!

this sweet boy is adachi! has some serious self-esteem/anxiety issues, but is so nice and so sweet!! he works hard!! and does his best!!!

this babe has never dated/slept with anyone in his life, and wakes up on his 30th birthday with the ability to read the minds of people he touches!! he has a whole freakout about it (valid), but eventually decides the way to deal with it is to avoid touching people (babe), so he starts going to work early to avoid crowds.

he accidentally finds out through his mind-reading powers that his colleague kurosawa has a crush on him one day!! the whole scene in the elevator was so fucking cute omg kurosawa was going !!!!!! in his head about being so lucky to see his crush so early in the morning, and adachi was going lmao he has a crush on one of our coworkers, i wonder who-

this also very sweet boy is kurosawa, the ace of the sales department, well-liked by everyone in the office because he’s So Nice. friendly heads up that his smiles are Lethal and will inflict Serious Damage. i recommend y’all have emergency services on speed dial while you’re watching, just in case.

ANYWAY kurosawa has secretly liked adachi for a few years! he observes adachi silently, notices the things he does and the things he likes, but has never made a move on him because he doesn’t think adachi likes guys. HE’S JUST. my god. the nicest person in the world. also the cutest. like adachi slept over at his place for ~reasons one night, and he was literally losing it at how cute adachi looked and couldn’t calm himself down enough to go to bed.

he has very cute daydreams about being domestic with adachi and it’s just all so wholesome i almost went feral at so many points. when they get to crash at each other’s place, kurosawa cooks for adachi and he always looks so blissed out whenever adachi enjoys it, like: I DID A THING FOR ADACHI AND HE LIKES IT!!!!!!

the progression of their relationship is so good and so natural!! every episode made me yell because of how cute the both of them were being, and GOD!!!! kurosawa’s pining will Get You at so many points, he’s so heartfelt and earnest about his feelings for adachi, even if it’s just inside his head sometimes, and he wants so much to make adachi happy and give him everything he wants, even if he thinks he might not be what adachi wants. and adachi slowly getting over the mortifying ordeal of being known, and making friends! and falling in love!! and trying new things!!! was so, so sweet ahhhh. his character growth was so well done my god, i want to cry just thinking about it

ANYWAY just please watch cherry magic!! it’s a relatively short series, compared to what i usually watch, and very, very easy to start and finish. there will be some parts *cough ep 11 cough* that will make you :((( but overall? MAXIMUM SEROTONIN GUARANTEED.

Summary: It all started as a normal day, but when Y/N and Minho have a difficult decision to make, Y/N makes a startling realization which she asks Minho to relay to Gally

The sun woke me up like it always did, but this time, I didn’t want to get up because of the arm draped over my waist. I rubbed the sleepiness from my eyes, and as I tried to get out of bed, Gally tightened his grip on me.

“Gally, I’ve got to get ready,” I mutter and turn to face him. Gally groaned and buried his face into my neck. I smiled softly and tangled my legs with his under the blankets on my bed. Perks of having the keeper of the builders as your boyfriend was that he built just about anything I wanted, including my own hut to give me some privacy.

“Do you have to leave?” Gally asked.

I laughed and ran a hand through Gally’s hair. “Unless you want to deal with Minho’s wrath, I suggest you let me leave.” Gally groaned again, but released his grip on me. I quickly thanked him and climbed out of bed, slipping on my running shoes. “All right, will I see you at the doors in 5 minutes? Or are you going to stay in bed?”

Gally sat up and stretched. “I’ll be there. I’m always there.”

I smiled. “I know.” I then walked over to him and leaned down, pressing a kiss to his lips. “I’ll see you in a bit.” Gally hummed a response as I left the hut and headed towards the runners shack to grab my gear. As I walked in, I bumped into Minho who was heading out. Usually we’d be walking in and out together.

“You’re late,” Minho joked lightly.

“Blame Gally for that one,” I exclaim and grab my runners pack. “He would not let me leave my hut.”

Minho laughed. “I do believe that. Come on. Lets grab our lunch and some breakfast.” We stopped by Frypan’s shack to grab some food to eat quickly, which for me included an apple and some toast, and then packed up our lunch. Today it was a sandwich and another apple. After leaving Frypan to make breakfast for the rest of the Gladers, Minho and I headed to the Maze doors. Gally was waiting for us at the entrance like always, and the tradition made me smile. He was very supportive of me when I wanted to become a runner, and he continued supporting me every day by being the last face I saw when I left the Glade and the first face I saw when I returned to it. I stopped in front of Gally and wrapped him in a hug, burying my face into his chest as Minho stretched his legs.

“Be safe,” Gally lectured and placed a kiss on top of my head, squeezing me lightly.

“Always,” I counter and pull myself out of his arms. “You ready, Min?” Minho nodded, and with one last wave to Gally, the two of us ran past the Maze doors and into the giant labyrinth. The run started off like it always did. We made our way to our section, ran through the winding corridors, and mapped out every inch. On the way back though, we ran into some trouble. And by trouble, I mean we encountered a griever. As soon as it saw us, it roared and lunged our way, but Minho and I had already taken off. My feet pounded against the stone as I turned corners and ran down corridors. But no matter how much we seemed to run, we still hadn’t managed to lose the Griever. “Min, I think we’re going to have to resort to Plan B.”

“That’s a terrible idea,” Minho argued.

“Believe me, I know, but-” I was cut off as my foot got caught on a stone platform I attempted to jump over, and I tumbled to the ground, twisting my ankle in the process. I tried to stand up, but pain erupted in my foot, and I cried out, clutching the injured limb.

“Come on,” Minho urged and helped me off of the ground. I knew though that we couldn’t outrun the griever like this. We were going to have to face it. Or rather, I was going to face it.

“Go,” I tell Minho. “Get back to the Glade.”

“What? No! I’m not leaving you,” Minho declared.

“If you don’t, we’re both going to die. Look, I’ll hold the Griever off for as long as I can, and then I’ll make my way back to the Glade,” I explain.

“You’re injured,” Minho noted and pointed to my foot. “Let me hold off the Griever.”

“Minho,” I start.

“No, Y/N,” Minho interrupted. “The chances of you facing a Griever and surviving, and then making it back to the Glade in time are slim because of your ankle. And what am I supposed to tell Gally when you don’t make it back? You think I want to break the news that my running partner, and best friend might I add, didn’t make it?”

“Gally will understand, and so will everyone else. Look, you’re the Keeper of the Runners. The Gladers need you more than they need me. Please, Minho,” I beg. “Get out of here.”

Minho sighed and gave me a quick hug. “Good luck, shuck face. Please make it back.”

I gave him a small smile. “Now go. Oh, and if I don’t make it back, tell Gally I love him, would ya?”

“Of course, but you’re going to tell him yourself because you’re going to make it out of here. I’ll see you back in the Glade,” Minho said before taking off. Just as he rounded the corner, the Griever appeared in front of me.

“All right Griever, give me all you’ve got,” I mutter.

Minho’s POV

The maze doors had shut a few minutes ago, but Y/N hadn’t made it back. I hoped that she was still alive, but then again, surviving a night in the maze was near impossible, and because of her injury, it would be even more challenging. But Y/N is one of the strongest people I know, so if anyone could make it out alive, it’d be her. Gally and I were now the only two Gladers left standing at the doors, the rest of the boys having left seconds before.

“How could you let her do this?” Gally asked, breaking the silence that had settled between us. I had hoped that this conversation wouldn’t turn up, but deep down, I knew it would.

“Believe me, Gally, if I had it my way, I would be the one trapped in there right now,” I confess. “Before I left her, Y/N had one favor. She um, she wanted me to tell you that uh...” I trailed off, remembering the last moment I had with Y/N, along with her last request. “She wanted me to tell you that she loves you.” Gally froze at my words as if trying to comprehend what I had said. And then, for the first time ever, I saw Gally cry. A few tears slipped down his cheeks, which he hastily wiped away, and with that, he walked off, leaving me alone at the Maze doors.

Y/N’s POV

If you’d have told me that I’d survive a night in the Maze alone, I would have called you crazy. And if you also would have told me that I’d do it with a messed up ankle and numerous cuts and bruises, I would have called you insane. But that was the truth because it was now morning. I limped in the direction of the Maze doors at a painstakingly slow pace, but at the moment, it was pretty much all I could do. After killing the Griever, which I had someone managed to do with my knife, I had to find a place to hide. Luckily, I knew of a small crevice underneath one of the walls that I could hide under, and I stayed there the rest of the night. Now, I was going to be back in the Glade, and I couldn’t be happier. I was a a few dozen feet away from the entrance to the Glade when the doors opened, and seconds after they unlatched themselves from each other, I was being engulfed in the biggest hug from someone. I knew almost immediately though that I was in the arms of my boyfriend.

“I love you too,” Gally murmured into my hair.

“So Minho actually told you?” I question. “I didn’t think he would.”

“Yeah,” Gally replied and pulled away from me. “He also told me what you did.”

I cringed under Gally’s gaze and ran a hand through my hair. “Yeah, uh, could we possibly talk about that later? You know, after I see the med-jacks?”

Gally’s gaze softened, and he chuckled lightly. “Sure. But we are going to talk about it.”

“Okay. Fine. Now, I can’t really walk, so if-” Gally cut me off, like he knew what I was going to say, and picked me up bridal style. “Thank you.”

“No problem,” Gally spoke and leaned down to place a kiss on my lips. “Now, lets get you to the med-jack hut.” Being in the arms of my boyfriend made me feel safe again, and as long as I had him, I knew I would be okay.

A/n:Quick note this part is based off of something I saw on Pinterest.But I changed the plot up a little bit.I don't quite remember their user but credits to them and their art.This is also has a few ocs of mine and my friends such as Elliot and Zhu Li

"You seriously want me to do that!?"M/n exclaimed.

"YOU WANT ME TO DRESS UP AS A MAID TO HELP YOUR CAFE?!WHY CAN'T YOU GO FIND SOME OTHER PEOPLE TO DRESS UP FOR YOU!"

M/n was on call with Elliot and he became flabbergasted at what he was requested to do.

"Oh my god M/n!Just do it!I don't have all day trying to persuade you to do it.I have other things to do."Elliot replied lazily.M/n sighed in return and face palmed.

"But why ME out of all people,"He asked.

"I don't know?You seem like the nicest one to ask and you kinda look like a girl so it's a win win situation for me,"Elliot said.

Although M/n knew those words weren't meant to be offensive it still did hurt his pride a lot.And when he says a lot he meant a lot.He looked down and sighed before speaking up again.

"Yea yeah I guess I'll do it."

"Oh my thank goodness.Well whatever come to the cafe later on around like 12.You got that?"Elliot said sighing out of relief.

M/n also sighed but out of all regret.

"Yes yes I'll be there."He replied reluctantly.He was zoned out until he felt arms wrapped around his waist.He jumped but slowly relaxed after realising who it was.

"Oh Xiao it's just you.You scared me,"He said.Xiao just grunted and hurried his face into M/n's s/c neck.The feeling left M/n a little ticklish but he brushed it off.

"So you were on the call with Elliot?What did he ask from you now?"Xiao asked.M/n sighed before explaining.

"Oh is that so?"Xiao asked one more time just to confirm what he just heard.M/n replied with a soft 'yes'.

"Well...I wouldn't want too show you off to other people in a maid dress but if it's Elliot why don't you help him?He helped you that one time back then for Valentine's didnt he?"Xiao stated.M/n eyes widened as he slowly remembered.

"Oh yea.I guess..."He said not really motivated to be wearing a maid dress.

"Well if you're going to help you might as well start getting ready soon.You have to leave at 12 right? It's 10:30 right now."Xiao said.

After hearing this M/n stood up quickly,getting out of Xiao's grasp and made his way to the bedroom to get ready.Xiao looked at the direction M/n went in.

"You forgot my goodbye kiss."He said firmly as he closed his eyes waiting for his kiss.M/n just sighed playfully and planted a kiss on Xiao's forehead.

"There."

Xiao still didn't let go of his grip on M/n and still stood in the same part.

"I gave you one.You can let go now,"M/n said.Xiao shook his head still waiting with his eyes closed.

"On the lips,"Xiao whispered.M/n then kissed him on the lips and was about to pull away until Xiao had stopped him by holding onto the back of his head and making the kiss even deeper.

Xiao pulled away from the kiss and smiled 'innocently' at M/n."bye,be safe."He said.M/n looked at him dumbfounded.𝙳𝚒𝚍 𝚑𝚎 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝-?M/n shook it off and greeted him goodbye to.

"Mhm Bye!"He said before leaving the house.

"M/n.Your finally here.You sure did take your good ass time I see."Elliot said looking at M/n in distaste.

"Hey!What do you mean I arrived here just in time!"M/n said trying to defend himself.

"Yeah sureeeeee.It doesn't take you 45 mins to get to my cafe when you leave at 11:30 now does it?Os what distracted your idiotic self this time?"Elliot said triggered at the fact M/n was late by 15 minutes.

M/n started darting his eyes in different directions trying to come up with and excuse.

"Well I uh- Uhm- I was uh-.Oh yes!I was helping Bennett with moving his stuff!He kept dropping everything so I decided to help him out!Although it did take longer than I expected."M/n explained to the male who seemed as if he had pulled an all nighter for 5 days straight.

Elliot just shook his head.

"Awe~How nice!"Elliot said obviously faking the happiness in his voice."well go dress into this in the back room.I'll open the store while you're at it.Zhongli,Razor,Barbara,Noelle,Kaeya,Amber and Fishcl are there to.How did I get them to do it?I honestly do not know."

M/n looked at the male in shocked."IF YOU ALREADY HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE HELPING YOU WHY DID YOU ASK ME FOR HELP!"He said in anger and slight embarrassment.Elliot looked at him in disappointment.

"It seems you do not know the way this gets me money do you?"Elliot said shaking his head.He just handed M/n the maid outfit and forced him into the back room."now go get dressed."

M/n walked in to see the other 7 already dressed.

It was quite funny seeing how Razor and Zhongli were dressed as maids whilst Fischl, and Amber were in butler outfits.(Barbara and Noelles are also wearing a maid outfit and Kaeya a butler one)

"M/n.Start.Soon.Quicker"Razor said informing M/n that they were starting soon.M/n just nodded his head okay.

"Yeah I'm nearly done.You can wait for me outside okay?"He answered.Razor just nodded his head before making his way out of the locker room.

M/n finished and closed his locker that had all his stuff in it.He quickly took one more look inside the mirror in the room to check is he looked alright in the maid dress.

"Okay perfect?"M/n said and confirmed with himself that he looked good.He went out of the locker room and closed the door behind him.

When he stepped one door out of the room he could smell the aroma of all the sweet food enter his nose.He looked into the kitchen to surprisingly see Xiangling cooking some sweet madame as well as some almond tofu.

"Hi Xiangling!I didn't know that you were going to be helping aswell."M/n greeted the chef cooking.

"Ahahah M/n!It's nice to see you again!"

"Well good luck in serving the customers!Today is gonna be a pretty busy day after all it is a special event!"Xiangling wished M/n good luck.

M/n bowed before leaving the kitchen to go into the main part of the shop.

"We're opening the cafe now so be ready,"Elliot announced as he turned the closed sign to a now opened one.

It didn't take a while for a few customers to come in and order something.The first person to go lead the customer to their table was Noelle.She showed them their seats before taking their order.She was a real natural.

More customers started to walk in after a while and then next thing they all knew the cafe was busy as hell.

"M/n!GO OUT THERE AND FINALLY START HELPING!YOU CANT JUST STAY THERE HELPING XIANGLING COOK!THERES A REASON I ASKED YOU TO BE A MAID FOR ME!"Elliot scolded M/n.

M/n looked straight into Elliot's blue eyes.

"B-but I don't wan-" he was cut off by Razor who put a menu in his hands and by Fishcl who pushed him into the main room of the cafe.

"Gu- Oh uh"M/n stuttered as he looked down at the floor."Welcome back master?"He greeted although it sounded more like a question.

"Wow Xiao!You see I told you we should have came!"Zhu Li announced.M/n lifted his head up in shocked and blushed when he made eye contact with Xiao.

"I-oh Xi- I mean Master!I didn't know you were going to be visiting today!"M/n said in surprised.

Xiao just nodded his head.

"Me either.I was just forcefully brought over here by Li as she wanted to see how Amber was doing,"Xiao explained.

"Well let me take you to your seats masters!"M/n informed.He brought the pair over to a table of two and had handed them the menu."what would you like to have today?

"I'll have some almond tofu."Xiao stated.M/n nodded his head as he wrote it down in his small note pad before he looked at Li waiting for her order.

"I'll take the Universal fried rice!Also looking good M/n"She said.M/n eyes winced at that last part.

"Thanks!Your order will come up shortly!And for drinks?"

"I'll take a coke!You Xiao?"Li asked Xiao.

"I'll have a sprite."He answered.

"Perfect!Your drinks will come soon and the food may take 15-20 minutes or so!"M/n informed before he made his way to the back room to drop off the order.

The orders for Xiao and Li were finally finished and M/n placed them onto the tray before making his way to Xiao's table.

"Here are your meals masters!"M/n said cheerfully.And yes he finally got used to his role and was perfecting his job.

He took the foods off the tray and placed them in front of the two before he made his way out.

Zhu li went in for a bite and let out a moan when the food reached her taste buds.

"MMMM!Xiangling's cooking never fails to surprise me!Is it good Xiao?"Zhu li said.Xiao just nodded his head in reply as he ate his almond tofu peacefully.

He kept an eye on M/n and all the customers he was serving.He was happy that nothing bad had happened to him so far.That was until he saw something that triggered him.

A stranger had just taken a photo of M/n under his skirt with his phone.

He immediately stood up from his seat about to make his way towards the strange man.But he was completely taken aback when he saw the male now drenched in some chocolate milkshake.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING!?"M/n asked in anger."that is completely rude sir!I hate to tell you but I need you to leave the premises!"

Murmurs started to occur.

The male looked at M/n in disgust.

"What are you talking about!I didn't do anything!I want a refund for my food for this terrible behaviour and I will call the police for your random assault."He said trying to defend himself.

M/n glared at the man who shivered under his gaze.

"Sir I am telling you that you must leave right now,"He stated calmly.The stranger scoffed and was about to stand up and hit M/n.

That was until a leg stopped his from getting up.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOI-?!"He was cut off.

"that should be my fucking line you useless bastard.So?Do you want to leave with your own two feet or would you like me to throw you out the fucking window?"He said angrily.

The stranger looked at him in shock and became frightened.Xiao was ready to punch him but was stopped when Elliot came in.

"I want you to leave this Cafe right now bitch,"Elliot bluntly said."that is unless you want me to take this into a case?"

The stranger shook his head before he bowed multiple times and quickly left.

The uprise had finally calmed down and the others went back to what they were doing.

"M/n I'll allow you to get off early this time.I'm very sorry that had happened to you.I shall destroy the SIM card and this phone so that it will no longer bother you,"Elliot apologised before he left.

M/n quickly let out a loud "it's okay!" And left to the locker rooms to go change back.When Xiao heard this he quickly finished off his almond tofu before he quickly entered the locker room.He went in only to see M/n shirtless.

He walked over to M/n before he wrapped his arms around his S/c waist and snuggled his head into M/n's neck.

"Ah Xiao!Let me finish changing then we can cuddle when else get home."M/n commented.Xiao just tightened his grip on m/n not planning to let him go.

"No"he stated firmly.M/n chuckled.

"I'll make almond tofu whenever you want me to.I'll also give you all the cuddles you want AND I'll buy you this games you've been wanting to get,"He said trying to bribe his man.

Once Xiao heard this he immediately let go and stared at M/n expectantly.M/n gushed over how cute he was being before he quickly finished changing and grabbed his stuff.

"Okay I'm ready let's go!"

Xiao immediately picked up M/n and held him bridal style before leaving through the back door.

"Xiao!Put me down!I don't need you always carrying me!"

"Only if you promise to buy me those games."

"Of course I will!Ill even get them for you even if you don't put me down.I would do it just because I love you!"

"I love you too."

"So are you going to put me down?"

"You said you would still buy me the games even if I didn't soooo no."

"XIAOOOOOO!WAIT NO THAT TICKLES STOP IT!Ahahaha!"

Then again, Anjali was jealous and sad about Khushi after the first reveal of Shyam, and it looked like track about Didi Ki Saut was beginning. But again ratings dropped and the fandom didn't react well (kinda protested), Anjali quickly stopped showing jealousy and Dadi was introduced to give ArShi a common saas-bahu vibe.

Hello Dear Analysis Anon!

I am going to over answer this with a lot of detail because I have a lot of thoughts, as always! Time to get into my thinking cape/coat:

This analysis is going to cover:

(1) every example you just mentioned,

(2) my thoughts on external things affecting plot of the story,

(3) things/plots/ tracks that could've been if not for external factors

Examples

1) IPKKND was supposed to have a longer office track (that wasn't common though, I would've loved it) but the TRP was low, so Shantivan track was introduced

As far as I can remember from one of the writers' interviews, the office track was cut short because this was a show on Star Plus - which, as a channel, caters to 'family audience' therefore needs to have sanskaar and stuff at its core. Hence the rude shortening of the office track and weird 'makeover' and 'desi-dying' Lavanya. And hence we had a very weird four months of an eighteen-twenty years old Khushi teaching someone about sanskaars and suddenly knowing everything about a household when Bua-ji or even Payal would've been a more apt choice for this 'tutoring'.

If this was a Star One show, they might've not shifted out of the office for the longest time!

2) Sana Maqbul (Lavanya) wanted to quit IPKKND, that's why the quick breakup??? Is that why they didn't give us the COMMON AF *jealousy and hero's ex GF turns villain* track?

I did not know that's why the quick end happened. Honestly that happened perfectly. I think Lavanya had an inkling about their relationship heading south right when Arnav told everyone he's getting engaged to her. But she chooses to not see it until one day she couldn't. Maybe we could've gotten more from La but if you see carefully, La clearly knows that this relationship is now just for face. Bless her heart for trying though, trying with a smile!

Also, again I think the writers never thought of making Lavanya a vamp. They had enough material with Arnav-Khushi's own differences, Shyam and Buaji playing enough roles to mess up Arnav-Khushi's love story. I probably think they always had planned Lavanya as a beautiful person who was unintentionally caught in all of this. I feel they planned La and Khushi's friendship - they clearly enjoyed writing two completely different people becoming closest of friends.

The writers/creators deserve full credit for this.

3) Then again, Anjali was jealous and sad about Khushi after the first reveal of Shyam, and it looked like track about Didi Ki Saut was beginning. But again ratings dropped and the fandom didn't react well (kinda protested), Anjali quickly stopped showing jealousy and Dadi was introduced to give ArShi a common saas-bahu vibe.

This is all true.

My Thoughts on External Things Affecting Plot

It's not necessarily bad that external things affect plot. Feedback, from channel or fans, can help the show to pivot and understand what is working and what's not. The problem is when feedback is implemented regardless whether or not it matches the theme of the plot.

I loved:

1) The channel moving out of the office because the power dynamic was too great and the contract terms were very unhealthy and Arnav Singh Raizada deserved to get sued at least 10 times by the end of this contract so yes, the shorter the office track the better. Literally the saving grace is they didn't "fall in love" there.

2) The fans protesting against Didi Ki Saut track. Not because I hated the track - I think it was executed in the worst manner! From identical visual languages to show Arnav-Anjali and Arnav-Khushi scenes (which didn't work to show Arnav being equally torn between the two most important women in his life, but just made the audience get creeped by Arnav-Anjali's relationship) and writing scenes of Anjali getting offended by Arnav-Khushi's intimacy/Arnav spending time with his wife, on her birthday, in his bedroom... did she expect Khushi would just *disappear* in a her and Arnav's bedroom? Like that was the worst way to show a compelling plot line and giving people some weird thoughts about Anjali-Arnav (which I hate because I LOVE Anjali-Arnav).

3) Barun walking out when the plot was literally done. Yes, thank you!

4) Barun going to do a movie led to the kidnapping track, which I liked a lot. No, not the nonsense of Manorama Bond fishing out Delhi's security camera footages in vintage recording system - but the fact that given the chasm and angst between Arnav & Khushi, only something bigger than their misunderstanding could force Arnav to give weight to his feelings and for Khushi to be able to forgive him. And his life was at stake. It was a sharp reminder to both of them that they lost so much by not communicating that it doesn't matter what they had to say - they loved each other, they just needed to get back and fight off everything together.

And then again, there are things I HATED that happened because of external factors:

1) The channel for the whole La becomes Desi. And the overdose of sanskaar and tradition that followed for a few months *uggggh* Clearly the channel demanded this from the plot because family, traditions and all are important to Star Plus (wtf are they thinking for Ghum Hai Kisi Ke? though or YRKKH?) And even the Aarav track and Mrs. India - two tracks with terrible execution - were very Star Plus recommended content. Just now Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2 had a Mrs. Surat/Gujarat track and Yeh Hai Chaahatein had a miracle child popping up...

2) The fans demanding Arnav & Khushi's proximity. The whole hut scene was *noooooo*. Lack of consent, body doubles, GLARING logical loopholes and them just trying to do it when one of them is really not in the mood and they were both so out of character. @phati-sari explains this really well in her post (just search for the hut to get all relevant posts on her blog)

3) Barun? Not exactly - he's never in control of the plot so really it's the writers that kinda know what to do with his presence and absence. Even if they get a short time, it's upto the creators who know if they use the last 2-3 weeks for stretching a random track as much as they can and give a rushed ending or quickly wrap up a crap track and give a satisfactory ending. A good example of this is Lavanya's exit - although rushed was dealt with grace, important conversations and memorable hugs. Bad one is the end of the show - I know Barun gave his papers but I wish they went the La way with the end of the show - important convos, teary hugs and a sweet moment (they tried their best tho...)

It's an ITV trend though to not plan for the end of a show... they stretch a crappy track as much as they can and have like a 2 min epilogue. Kasautii 2.0 was the funniest cause they had all misconceptions cleared, Komolika and Mr. Bajaj die and then have a weird 2 min pillow fight to show 'happy family'... guess in that way I'm glad we had whatever we did with IPKKND!

Possible Tracks Then

So if external factors didn't influence the show, we might have had the following:

1) A longer office track. It would end the way it did in canon though. I think it was prewritten that at one point Khushi would tear up the contract and hold him accountable for everything Arnav did. Just instead of 3-4 days it would've been 10-15 days after the contract.

2) Didi Ki Saut track. Honestly that was compelling if executed right. Sometimes you can have an antagonist without becoming a villain, Anjali the perfect character for that.

3) A separation track. I'm pretty sure Arnav-Khushi could have separated at some point in their six months marriage - this is just my inkling and not something I heard in an interview unlike the above two. If given full reign to writing, we probably would've gotten an angst heavy stuff at some point post marriage/6 months.

4) A remarriage track sans Dadi. We know why Dadi was introduced (honestly I didn't mind her, it was a track done well and kinda to redeem Arnav in front of the public eyes. It's a perfect track cause Arnav is 'nice' for standing up for her and kinda heals the wounds he caused in the first few months of the marriage by retorting someone who tells Khushi everything he told her...) But anyway I do think a remarriage was in the works, not because of TRPs but the way their whole 'marriage' was framed and how Khushi was broken because of the lack of everything in it. And they deserved one w/o the devastation that night brought.

5) The 'marriage' would've been a live in. Arnav and Khushi's elopement was supposed to be darker in nature*. Their 'marriage' would've had no religious nor legal validity, therefore a stark contradiction to everything Khushi stood for... but you can't have that in ITV. *By dark I don't mean sexual violence - never.*

6) The whole IPKKND was meant to be darker. I am glad for the romantic comedy though! I think their balance of angst and comedy pre marriage was perfect! Not sure post marriage because it felt like a loop of going back to square one with no progress. But I think things were meant to be less subtle, more tragic and dramatized. So I think we could've gotten extremely angsty periods post marriage with a slow, gentle lull to the romance/comedy. While I am extremely glad for the lightheartedness, I wish I could've read what the whole original concept for Arnav/Khushi was!

7) Arnav revealing the truth to Khushi would've been different. We know the distasteful suicide track quickly came as a way to push Arnav's buttons and have him confess the truth of his elopement to Khushi. And that came from Barun going away - hence the quick kidnapping track and everything. So if Barun didn't go away, I honestly don't know how the revelation would happen. Would Arnav start piecing things together from information and things about Shyam in Laxminagar? Would Arnav end up helping and hospitalizing Shashi who would tell him the truth? Would Arnav come across any hidden wedding card Buaji could've had printed for Shyam-Khushi or even Shyam's fake kundili? Given the Gupta house wasn't the place where Shyam covered his tracks... was this where Arnav would start seeing things? Or guilt ridden, would Garima/Khushi/Madhumati tell Arnav the truth? Something was meant to happen for this revelation, whether it's Arnav believing Khushi or just getting further evidence against her - I... don't know! I wish I knew what the writers had in store.

We highly appreciate for not showing a typical Nanand against Bhaabi trope, also for not making La villain, but would it result differently if things didn't have a hand? Imma cry thinking Anjali jealous and La villain! meh! What a feast for the eyes it was to see ONLY ONE VILLAIN and less negativity in a tellywood show. Baas bohut hua my casual verbiage. The VelociPastor (2018)

This one holds an especially special place in my heart. I’m always proud of classmates and teachers and other folks from my hometown who go on to do amazing things. I knew he was a force to be reckoned with when he played Orin Scrivello, D.D.S. in our high school production of Little Shop of Horrors, and I’m so glad to see his talent and determination produced this fucking gem. Yes, I did just shamelessly brag about having been acquainted with the writer/director/producer/editor in high school. But in all honesty, I’m extremely happy to have known him and to be able to include this absolute MASTERPIECE in my world record attempt.

Father Stewart: So your parents died, Doug. It's what parents do. They die on you.

I love that Doug tells the homeless man he took a vow of poverty and then runs off, no change to give the downtrodden. Then Carol comes by, telling Doug off for being inconsiderate as he runs into her and then she digs some coins out of her purse to hand to the homeless man. I can only speculate, but that definitely feels like some pointed commentary. I love it.

HOW DIDN’T I NOTICE THAT ALTAIR IS PLAYED BY MUSICIAN VOLTAIRE!? I LISTENED TO SO MUCH OF HIS MUSIC AS A TEENAGER!!! WTF!?!?!?! THIS IS CURRENTLY MY NEW FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS FILM!!! How am I this stupid? How did I not notice this sooner!? I’m a dum-dum. Oh my gods, that makes this movie a thousand times more perfect.

Oh my god... another sort of subtle joke that I’m not sure whether or not it was intentional (It fucking has to be... it just has to) -- there is a ninja called Choi-Min who doesn’t say a word except in a voiceover while he’s ignoring a ninja who’s talking strategy. The ninja talking strategy has Australian accent. When he says “Choi-Min” it sounds like he’s saying “Chime in”, making the name Choi-Min super punny... and I know that’s a small thing, but it made me ridiculously happy that I noticed another thing I hadn’t noticed in this film before.

Doug Jones: Your ancestors are my ancestors!

I love that Carol was dying, but she ends up in a general doctor’s office-looking place rather than a hospital. It cracks me up more than it’s probably meant to.

You work as a sports trainer, providing basic first aid and injury management for the Hanguk University’s soccer team. Going with your mundane life of caring for the dozen of guys hurting themselves in the soccer game takes a turn when one of the guys catches your eyes. It’s not his breathtakingly good looks or his muscular athletic body usually seducing girls at the campus that catches your eyes. But the action plan in your kit, indicating he is diagnosed with Asthma is what draws your eyes time and time again to the Golden Boy of Hanguk University.

“Do I get to finally taste some of your placebo effect?”

You watch as the guy’s lips curls on one side to a slight smirk, pushing you against the doorframe and locking you between his half naked figure and the frame

“J-Jimin,” you gasp pushing against the guy’s bare chest “I need to wash up before dinner!”

“My dinners served right here,” he retorts as he presses his forehead against yours “Where would I go when my full course meal is standing right here ready for me to eat her up.”

“Jimin,” you scold in an authoritative tone “Joon and Jiwoo are waiting for us!”

“Babe, why are you so tense, you just gotta let go and indulge a bit,” he sighs as he moves his head down to your chin, pressing a gentle kiss on the soft skin under your lips “, my tongue skills has never disappointed anyone and you’re not gonna be a first!”

You gulp as a rush of arousal shoots between your legs, biting your lips to deny the temptations of giving in to the guy’s seductive words but the earlier images of Jungkook warning you against Jimin tugs on your heart.

“I’m hungry,” you reply firmly, shifting to move away from him and watch him part his lips to respond but you immediately predict his next words “and not hungry for you Park! LIKE GENIUNLY HUNGRY!”

“Fine, I don’t know if you heard but the menu is my delicious chicken curry,” He chuckles, his moon shaped eyes disappearing as he moves away from you “I’ll let you go on one condition!”

“What?” you raise an eyebrow

“Joonie hyung said you give killer massages,” he smirks viciously “and our club’s physio thinks I would really benefit from some massage.”

“You’re telling me none of your booty calls are capable of rubbing your neck for you!” you roll your eyes as you walk to the sink to wash your hand

“They’re just good at rubbing one off, but not really my neck” he rests his hand on the doorframe “somewhere down south!”

You glance at him pointing at his dick which the towel is doing a mediocore job of hiding and roll your eyes “Off course they would!” you snicker as you turn the tap off and move to walk pass him

“So, are we on?” He asks as he follows you, not caring that he’s about to walk in the living room literally half naked “Am I getting one of your killer massages or not?”

“I’ll see,” you turn around stopping him as you face him “If you behave, like a good boy,” A slight smile plasters on your lips as your hands travels to his blonde hair to stroke the silky strands “then I might consider.”

“Mhmmm,” he raises an eyebrow, “So you’re into good boys huh?” his eyes darken as he takes a step forward and murmurs “Then why the fuck were you messing around with a guy like Yoongi Hyung?”

Your eyes widen and you immediately step back, expression hardening but he stops you by holding around your waist “How-How do you know?”

“Relax,” he soothes “Yoongi Hyung was SNU soccer team’s wildcard before setting off for nationals,” he explains softly “Hanguk’s Nerd and SNU’s Jock, your story is one of the campus favourite love stories.”

“Failed love story,” you correct with a cold tone “If you haven’t heard the ending, I’ll let tell you, Min Yoongi cheated on me,” you add with a tone dripping with venom “Which was a good lesson for me to not mess around with guys like him anymore!”

“Mhmm guys like him …” Jimin’s voice trails off as he stares at you for a few seconds in silence, as if he’s trying to figure you out “Explains why you’ve been playing so hard to get!”

“Now you know Park,” you flash a bitter smile “Keep it moving and go make your love story with another girl,” you hesitate before adding “One that is still stupid enough to believes there is a happy ending with guys like you and Min Yoongi.”

You turn on your heels but his words stop you “I just want my massage,” he calls and you look back at him with an annoyed expression “I’ll be a good boy!” he throws his hand up in the air as a sign of succumbing to you

“Get dressed and let’s have dinner first!”

“Yes Ma’am.” He salutes with a naughty tone before running down the hallway like a little boy

You sigh and turn around towards the living room where Jiwoo and Joon are already indulging in the chicken curry Jimin cooked

“Hurry up,” Joon calls with mouth full of food “It’s getting cold, where is Park?”

“Getting dressed,” you mutter through gritted teeth “maybe you should have told me he’s naked in the shower when I was heading to bathroom.”

“Sorry I forgot,” he shrugs as he jams another mouthful of rice and curry in his mouth “It’s not like you don’t see naked guys at you at work all the time.”

“So …” Jiwoo interrupts as you scoop some curry into your plate “You and Jeon huh?”

“JOON!” You cry and the guy immediately chokes on his food, developing a coughing fit immediately “You’re fucking useless!” you cry in rage

“don’t scold him,” Jiwoo glares at you as he hands a cup of water to her boyfriend “you’re useless for not telling me that you’re about to get some of that Golden dick? Why? You thought I’ll ask you to share?”

“Hey Hey,” Joon knocks on the table with a raspy voice, scolding Jiwoo “You young lady, you’re not thirsting over dick when I’m sitting here all healthy and ready to serve you!”

“I was just saying,” Jiwoo rolls her eyes “The point is this little snake is fucking Hanguk’s Golden Dick and is not telling me- “

“who’s fucking Hanguk’s Golden dick?” Jimin walks in the living room and you immediately motion to Jiwoo to shut up

“Nothing, this curry is actually good- “you try to change the subject, but your dense friend is clueless to your effort

“She’s fucking Hanguk’s golden dick,” Jiwoo motions to you explaining to Jimin “AKA Jeon Jungkook!”

“Oh,” Jimin nods, glancing at you “Interesting, last time I asked her she denied!”

“Wait, how did you know?” Joon asks with a confused tone

“Last time we were playing billiard, Jeon was eating her up with his eyes,” Jimin explains with a casual tone “Then he and his stupid friend pulled this shit of betting with me over driving her home,” he hesitates as he munches on his bread “the guy’s pretty aggressive!”

“Didn’t I tell you to take her home?” Joon throws a piece of bread at Jimin before glancing at you “So this has been going for a while!”

“First of all, I can get my ass home just fine, you don’t need to assign your minions to take care of me,” you glance at Jimin and quickly mutter “Second of all, NOTHING HAS BEEN GOING ON! Just because you all can’t keep your coochie in your pants like some hormonal teenagers doesn’t mean I can’t either!”

“They’re boning,” Jimin immediately replies following your statement

“I agree,” Jiwoo reaches to high five him “The fact that she’s denying it so hard, proves it all more!”

“I don’t care if you’ve fucked him or not,” Joon adds “You’re stopping it right here, right now!” he warns before glancing at Jimin “And you, next time I assign you to take care of her, you stick to her and don’t leave her side until I say so.”

“Yes Captain,” Jimin’s grin widens as he wraps his arms around you “Got the field all covered, Jeon wouldn’t even get past the midfield to make the goal.”

“I am doing just fine not boning Jeon,” you swat his hand away as you glare at your best friend “Also it’s not like your little minion is any better than Jeon!”

“Darling, I’m sitting right here,” Jimin raises an eyebrow “That’s the second time you’ve insulted my height and I can only take so much.”

“You called me a field like I’m some sort of a fucking ball game!” you spit back at the guy in disbelief

“This is why I’m not worried about him,” Joon chimes in “You two probably kill each other before actually get to the action. In my risk analysis he’s less dangerous than Jeon at this point.”

“Your risk analysis can suck my non-existent dick!” you throw a napkin at him

“I don’t care what you say,” Joon declares firmly “Jeon is a no no, I can lend you the whole SNU’s soccer club if you need to get laid, but Jeon is too risky for you. Stay away from him.”

“Thanks for the advice grandpa,” you roll your eyes “Keep your SNU boys to yourself.”

“You can always have me all to yourself baby,” Jimin leans in to whisper against your ears when you bring the knife up close to him

“Behave Park! I have a knife in my hand!”

You sigh as he laughs and shifts away from you and all of you continue eating your dinner in peace.

You look at the guy gasping for air as he crouches down against the wall, your shaking hands immediately looking through your kit as you find the can of supplemental oxygen and rush back to him. You don’t know how you got yourself to the office when the coach told you Jeon left the game half time because he wasn’t feeling well and asked you to check on him before Dr. Kim arrives because it looked kind of serious.

You immediately made a phone call to Dr Kim as you ran with your life to the office where you hoped you’d find the guy. When you entered the office you found the guy plastered against the wall, coughing for his life, his lips parted and gasping for air, a layer of sweat on his forehead and tears in his eyes sending you to a full on panic on all the sign and symptoms of a fight or flight response you could recognize.

You kneel against him, bringing the mouthpiece to his lips “On the count of three, take a deep breath in for me-“

Your gaze falters as he slaps the can away from him and brings his dark gaze to you

“J-Jeon-“

“I don’t need your pity,” he says through gritted teeth “Get out of my face.”

“I called Dr.Kim, he told me to give you some oxygen while we wait on him,” You mutter, anger taking over your words but trying really hard to stay calm “I’ll get fired if he arrives and knows I haven’t done my job!”

“Wouldn’t that be good for you?” He scoffs raising an eyebrow “Maybe you can get a job at SNU and suck Park Jimin’s dick full time.”

“W-What?” you furrow your eyebrows “What are you talking about-“

Comparing Adaptations

‘Kay so I went on one of my whims again and did something stupid. Couple weeks or so ago, I wasn’t really in the mood to watch anime so I opened up Netflix and watched a Cdrama that I wanted to watch for a while now.

That Cdrama was ‘The Untamed’ which, prior to me watching it and doing said whim, I thought was just your typical historic Cdrama. Oh boy I was wrong. As I was watching it, I was thinking to myself, “This show’s really selling itself off as BL.” Which, I found out after finishing it was because it is BL. Hah...and that was just the start of it.

As I was doing my ‘Post-show research,’ I found out that it was based of a novel, called ‘Mo Dao Zu Shi’or as translated by the people on the internet as ‘Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.’ Said novel had 2 more adaptations along with ‘The Untamed’ which were a manhua and a donghua. So me being me, I decided to watch the donghua adaptation and read both the og novel and manhua.

So how I went through this was...

The Untamed (2019)

The Donghua aka Anime I guess

The Manhua which I read while having class (such a responsible student aren’t I)

The original novel

Anyways, as it says on the tin, I’ll be comparing the 4 adaptations/versions of the story and see what changes between them as well as the pros and cons. (Wow I sound so professional)

Some background of myself just to avoid confusion

I am not a mega hardcore Fujoshi. I don’t really enjoy reading smut, nor am I old enough to do so bear that in mind

I have 7 years worth of Chinese lessons under my belt which means I barely understand a thing and that I can get some of the jokes like how Wei Ying’s sword is called ‘Sui Bien’ and it’s funnier to hear in Chinese. In other words, compared to like actual Chinese people who live in China, I pretty much have the knowledge of a 10 year old.

The versions of the Manhua and Novel that I read were translated in English so somethings might have been lost in translation.

I have a bit of a goldfish brain so forgive me if I wrote something wrong or forgot the name of a certain character, most likely I will look it up to correct it but if I don’t...well sorry.

I am writing my opinions on each version as I finish them, so if they don’t link up to the original that’s the reasoning behind it.

All of these are my opinions and thoughts on the story. You are not entitled to follow them if you disagree. I personally believe that everyone has a voice of their own and they should use it. (Even though I don’t half of the time.)

Slight Spoiler Warning

I will be breaking down some of the scenes and characters for my comparisons so please keep that in mind.

The Untamed (2019)

As this was my first exposure to the story, I didn’t know what to expect. I loved everything about it except for the fact that literally half of the show was spent in the past, building context for what was happening in the present.

The characters were lovable and all had distict personalities, especially Wei Ying and Lan Zhan which I guess makes sense since they’re the main characters (their actors are also cute and have good chemistry.) Speaking of characters, Yanli has a more forward role in the story here compared to the other versions. The way certain characters were introduced was different too. Since it’s live action, it’s also harder to show things like extreme blushing and such so it makes Lan Zhan look very stoic and way more unexpressive here than in the other versions.

The soundtrack is nice to listen to, especially with the 2 mains singing the theme song together it’s so cute and gives it another meaning in itself. Although, I do wonder how that poor bamboo flute Wei Ying made in like 2 mins plays decent sounding music. Chen Qing(is this the name of it?), the flute he uses after his trip to the Burial Grounds has the same sound quality as that bamboo flute which is just, “how???”

They took out most of the extreme BL!!! I feel like that is the biggest difference between this version and all the rest. I know they did that to appeal to more people but it does remove some of the context to things. That doesn’t mean the moments that were kept in weren’t cute though. It did make the pair look more plantonic than romantic.

As for the story itself, as a story on its own, it’s nice, as an adaptation that’s where the line gets blurry but it leans more towards the good side. They did indeed change some things, made them work better with the medium than if they didn’t.

An example I can place is the mask. Where the other versions used white make up with oddly placed red circles around the eyes, this one used a mask instead. I agree with the choice they made, seeing as they removed the fact that Mo Xuanyu was homosexual and so the make up wouldn’t make sense. It also looks nicer than what I imagined what could’ve happened with they kept with the make up. They do make a reference to this in the show when Jin Ling and Wei Ying have a conversation in Carp Tower. “You’ve seen my face right?” “How do I know? Your face is always caked in make up or covered by that mask.”

Another issue I had which I’ll touch on later was the first episode—I had no idea what was going on for those 40 minutes of screentime.

Donghua

As of writing this post, season 3 of this has yet to come out.

My first reaction to this was “Man, the animation’s pretty, and they made Wei Ying look scarier.” Watching stuff at 12 in the morning isn’t the best thing but that’s what I do.

Anywho, this version made Wei Ying really attracted to going down the path of ‘evil’ compared to the other versions. I don’t really understand why they made this change...but they did so we have to deal with that. And his eyes glow red!! It makes him look scary and cool at the same time. I love it!!

The transitions between certain events were a bit weird to say the least. For example, at the end of episode 2/3 Wei Ying gets forcibly dragged into the Cloud Recesses and the episode ends there. By the next episode, we’re 16/23/13 however many years in the past. This makes it really confusing for someone who hasn’t watched or read any other version of the story. It definitely made me confused and I already finished one.

While ‘The Untamed’ told us everything in one long flashback, the donghua broke it up into small chunks placed whenever information was needed. I don’t think that was a good idea, but then I also think it was a better decision than what they did for the Cdrama. As I watched this adaptation, I found myself confused from time to time because what happened in the prior episode didn’t always match what happened in the current episode like I mentioned earlier.

As for the artstyle, personally, I think some of the characters look similar minus the hair. However, I do like the little ways they made Lan Zhan express his feelings towards Wei Ying.

Speaking of which, when I first saw them together in this version in the forest near the Goddess Temple, I had to do a bit of a double take because of the height difference which wasn’t so evident in ‘The Untamed’. I soon found out that Lan Zhan was taller than Wei Ying before and after he gets reincarnated(?) Prior, it was just a small gap of 2cm which later turned to 6cm after possessing Mo Xuanyu.

I didn’t notice their height gaps while watching ‘The Untamed’ because Wei Ying’s actor, Xiao Zhan, is taller than Lan Zhan’s actor, Wang Yi Bo by about 2 inches which is like 5 cm? and so they had to do some weird thing with platforms to make Xiao Zhan look shorter in comparison.

Soundtrack wise, I personally think that ‘The Untamed’ was better in that sense. Where it had an amazing souding flute, this one had minor earrape in a nutshell.

This version made itself, in my eyes look more like a historical fighting anime as opposed to the BL vibes I was getting from ‘The Untamed’ and the other versions. They added a lot of action scenes and made the mystery more interesting for me. Along with this, the overall look and feel of this made it seem like it came from a completely different source material.

Manhua

Small FYI, as of writing this post the Manhua is at 147 Chapters.

(I should’ve kept up the trend and got a screenshot from that scene in the Manhua but I didn’t so here we are with gay rabbits.)

As your local internet friend who reads more manga than normal books nowadays, I enjoyed reading the manhua and finished it in a couple days.

Compared to the first 2 versions here, these last 2 are both things that you have to read to get through, albeit one has pictures and one doesn’t.

While normally, one would read silently, I like listening to music while I do. And seeing as the OST of ‘The Untamed’ sounds really nice, I listened to it while reading both the manhua and novel when I could.

This one brought out the BL elements that were missing from the first 2. They gave Wei Ying and Lan Zhan a lot of kissing or just straight up affectionate scenes which I think ties in with the general theming of the original novel more.

As this one is probably the closest of the adaptations to the original, it’s the least confusing to read, although that might’ve been influenced by my experiencing the story for the third time at this point. I say that, however, there were many story elements that weren’t present in either one prior to this.

Examples this can be seen with their collecting of body parts that belonged to the former Nie Sect Leader. In ‘The Untamed’ they find the sword spirit which guides them through the rest of the story. In the Donghua adaptation, they get the arm, but also get the head of the the Jin with the hundred holes curse which was an original addition. Here, they get the arm from Mo Manor, find the other one then find the torso and so on before finding the head in Jin GuangYao’s possession.

The flashbacks in this version were also executed really well, in my opinion, as it doesn’t feel super confusing while reading it and it gives just enough information to help the events unfold. It also gives us a chance to see how much of an ass(sorry) Wei Ying was when he was the Yiling Patriach from his own perspective as well as give us a moment of WangXian in the middle of all that chaos.

Novel

Here’s a picture of gay rabbits for everyone.

At this point, I was switching between the novel and the Manhua to read whichever one I wanted at any given time which might have blurred my sense of what belonged in each one so I’ll try my best to make sure.

Since this one is the original source material, it was clear from the get go that this will be the one with the least confusing version of events and the most amount of detail.

I was surprised on how close the manhua and ‘The Untamed’ was to the novel. Although, the former condensed the mystery to fit within the timeframe while the latter hasn’t finished just yet.

Personally, I like this author, and will probably read more of her works further down the line. Even though the version I read was in english, I still could feel the meaning behind certain aspects which I think shows her skill as an author.

The novel clearly shows the mischief that goes through Wei Ying’s head and their gradual (I say gradual but I think Lan Zhan just snapped) change of attitudes towards each other.

Arc One- Mo Manor

Past here I’ll break down the first arc of each one because I think all of them did it in relatively different ways. Be warned for spoilers if you haven’t watched or read all of them.

The Untamed (2019)

Out of all of these versions, this one definitely had me scratching my head in confusion the most even after watching it a second time once I finished the entire show.

As the only version that had the curse issued at the start as a moving factor of the story as well as the Yin Iron which was specifically made for this version, it didn’t explain enough at the start.

There were many things I could say were wrong about this beginning, from starting at a flashback to not properly introducing us to our characters but the biggest problem in my mind was the lack of explanation at the present.

Like I mentioned, starting at a flashback is a terrible idea as it gives the viewer high expectations only for it to be crushed the second it ends. Here, it shows a small portion of the battle at the Nightless City without much context then it quickly changes to 16 years later with a seemingly random group of people.

Another issue is the amount of useless characters who were introduced. In the other versions, there were only 2 Lan disciples who were given names and were introduced properly while here there were more than I want to count. Add to that the one telling stories about the YiLing Patriarch and the weird guy walking around with a flag, and you got yourself total confusion.

Donghua

This one was slightly less confusing to watch. As it starts with a clip of Wei Ying commanding corpses which matches the overall feel of the donghua. The rumors that he died stretched over the time skip and we meet this version of Mo Xuanyu who is caked with make up, whether or not he was a cut-sleeve (gay) in this version, I forgot.

It fully explains the curse and instead of having a couple of Lan disciples just standing there watching, we get to focus on the 2 important ones, Lan Sizhui and Lan JiYing. It gives us a slightly deeper insight into Wei Ying’s mind, as he states ‘you got the wrong one,’ just after being reincarnated, indicating that he isn’t as vicious as painted by the first few minutes of the show. Like the other versions, they also show how he considers the cons of using his demonic abilities and that Sizhui would probably tell on him to Lan Zhan, meaning that Sizhui was a keen, observant young man.

Manhua and the Novel

As for the introductions, these two were very similar. Both have the rumors of the Yiling Patriarch across the screen as we get further down the story and meet our main character.

It gets the details from the Donghua adaptation and mixes it with more information to create a more detailed account of what was happening, also making this Wei Ying seem smarter compared to his counterparts in other versions. He also hesitates more on showing his abilities, knowing that he’s going to be caught if he does.

Final Thoughts

As of writing this, I’m only halfway through the novel but it covers the portion until where the manhua is currently at. I would finish reading it before posting this but it would take too long and probably make this post even longer than it currently is, which isn’t such a good idea. If I had much more patience and effort I would really like to break down each arc and their differences from one another but I can’t be bothered right now. (Sorry)

I can safely say that in terms of adaptations, ‘The Untamed’ is relatively close to the novel, albeit a very condensed version. As flashback filled as it is, it wasn’t very confusing to watch past the first two episodes.

The Donghua adaptation takes several liberties, going more of an action oriented route instead of the calmer more, I wouldn’t say love but character oriented novel.

The manhua is definitely the closest to the novel, so if you really don’t want to read a lot of words, and I mean a lot of words, then go ahead and read it.

1. if you could choose to glimpse the afterlife, would you?

Yes, I would. I think a lot about It.

2. under what circumstances do you think you past life was lived?

I could have had many past lifes. I think I was a native american, cause I've always felt bonded to their tradicion and same with China, cause when I hear the sound of Erhu - traditional chinese instrument, something wakes up in me. I've also always wanted to see Sweden & Finland, so maybe I was doing something there... I mean, I could do anything. I see myself in biblical times, as well as middle ages. I could be a renaissance artist, as well as dying of hunger during victorian era, or something, and that's probably why I'm still careful with money, haha. For my latest one, I think I could have been a hippie in the 60/70s and had some drug use experience, cause when I was a child I used have dreams about taking drugs, even if I didn't know anything about It. I also had some experience with psychics (and "psychics"), my mom had a past life regression and she told me she saw me few times... I don't take anything for granded, but reincarnation is one of my favourite theories.

3. what three skills would you instantly master if you had the choice?

Playing every instrument, speaking every language, singing beautifully

4. would your rather no passion or no pain?

No pain. Everything is needed in life, but you know, enough is enough.

5. if you had a chance to leave this world and go to another one, would you take it?

Depends of the world and who I would meet there. Even if this world can be cruel and disappointing at times, I still have some love for him and humanity.

6. if you could smell like anything in the world, what would it be?

Like the first day of spring, when you go outside and the air smells different. Or a storm.

7. do you feel like common interests or philosophical comparability are not important?

They are very important. I can't imagine a relationship without similar interests, views. You either get bored or fight constantly. I think that the whole point of searching a partner is trying to find things you got in common. The more similar you are, the more understood you feel and more you are attracted to them. That's my experience at least. That's a very basic example, but as you may noticed, I'm very much into music and I was dating a guy, who wasn't into music that much at all. I thought It doesn't matter at first, but then I started feeling like I'm missing my favourite way to connect with other person. Once I met a guy who loved music as much as I do, I'm sorry to admit It, but my partner became unattractive to me.

Similar interests and views are needed at the beginning, to bond with somebody, and later, to simply enjoy spending time together (thanks Captain Obvious). I mean... chemistry and good will are not enough for a relationship to last. Don't get me wrong, I don't think you have to be identical and agree on everything - some differences can be inspiring, balance your relationship and teach you something new. It's also ok and even needed, to have some separate hobbies, things that you like to do on your own. There are also other important things, like, if you equally care about each other and if you are on the same page in general, but I can't imagine not agreeing in the key points and things that are the most important to you. And the only person who can decide what is the most important is the person who is in that relationship, no matter if It's about interests, philosophy or religion. But beside a romantic relationship, I think It's good to be surrounded by different people and listen what they got to say.

8. if there was one mystery you alone could learn the answer too, what would it be?

The mystery of life in general. Why we are here, is there any destiny, how we are connected, how this universe works, what happens after death...

9. in your opinion, is there anything more important than love?

No :) (I'm not talking about putting your relationship before other things. I'm talking about love as a big force and meaning of this universe)

10. describe a new planet you would live on, if you could.

I want things to be diverse, monumental... Maybe another moon, why not. As a concept of the world, I wish there would be peace :) everybody has their safe place to live, will to live, passion, purpose, someone to love and who loves them back. Amen.

1. What is an unpopular opinion you hold you about which you feel strongly and with which you seem to notice a lot of people disagree?

Nothing specific comes to my mind at the moment (that I haven't mentioned before). I sure have some, but what's unpopular opinion in general and what's unpopular opinion on tumblr, are two different things. Maybe, that the "tumblr positivity" is not really helpful. Like: "in case you need to hear this: you are smart, you are loved... ". How do you know that? Those are just empty words. But It's better to spread positivity than negativity, of course.

2. What is the nicest thing a stranger has ever told you that you can recall?

Oh, I had a few situations like that... This is so lovely, when a stranger wants to just be genuinely nice, not just catcalling you...For example, when I was with my 3 girlfriends at the club and 2 ladies in their 40s where like: "excuse me, we just wanted to say that we can't stop starring at you all, cause you are the priettiest girls in the club." And we were like: aww, omg, you are beautiful too, come dance with us. And we were all dancing in our witches circle ignoring all sweaty men around us, haha. Or when my mom went to the the same hair saloon as me and asked hair dresser if she remembers me and she said that she does and that I'm nice and intelectual. I'm her faithful client now ;_; (Sorry for sucking my own dick, but It was nice to remind myself about these situations).

3. Has a piece of art or music ever made you cry? If so, do you remember a specific moment?

Crying to music is my passion. The latest intense moment was few days ago. I was loading a dishwasher at night and I played some music and then "lover you should've come over" by Jeff Buckley came on and sudden wave of lonelliness hit me so hard, that I just had to put down the plate, hide my face in my hands and weep ✌

Idk, maybe my Penny Lane coat :)

5. What’s a random childhood memory that fills you with a deep sense of comforting nostalgia?

Sledding with kids during a very cold winter in my home town, until It got dark and snow looked like sprinkled with glitter and having my freezed feet warmed up with a hair dryer, when I came back home, haha.

6. What is/was your favourite thing about your mom? If not your mom, your dad? Or best friend?

My favourite thing about my mom is that she's tolerant and open minded. I didn't have to lie to her or pretend I'm someone I'm not because of that. My favourite thing about my dad is that he actually cared about being a parent, even tho my parents divorced. I respect that he has unwavering morals and huge knowledge about a world - biology, astronomy, music, art...- subject doesn't matter- but he is very modest about It.

7. What’s something you learned on your own of which you’re proud?

8. When was a moment in your life you remember laughing the hardest?

I was playing cards since I was a kid. After few years, when I was about 13 y. o. I got the first poker, a royal flush. When I saw my cards, I'm not sure why, I just coudn't believe my luck, I started laughing so hard I almost died.

9. What do you like to do when you’re having a hard time mentally that invariably calms you down?

Really depends of the kind of situation and if It's triggered by something or just a longer period of time feeling in a certain way. The is no a magic trick, but some things might be helpful. When It's concrete situation, at first, when the feelings are really intense, then I just can't calm down. Every try to do so, has a reverse effect. Like, I CAN'T THE FUCK CALM DOWN and It makes me even more angry. Brain needs about 20 min to chill, if It's not triggered, so It's better to be left alone and just go mad a little until brain will have enough haha. Have a good cry, listen to some music, have a lonely walk, write my feelings down etc.

I like to listen to Teal Swan on youtube. She's a spiritual teacher. I know, It might not sound encouragingly, but she actually seems very down to earth. She has a video about like, every emotion and every problem ever. She's very good in naming feelings, rationalizing them and It makes you feel more understood. And It calms me down as result. ASMR doesn't work for me, but I remember that at some point I liked to listen to sounds of the nature, like rain, waves etc + guided meditation to fall asleep.

Music always helps in general - listening, playing guitar, singing. I also like to take an oil and do a face massage. I'm really sorry if I sound like an instagram influencer 🤢, but when you feel bad for a longer time, you frown and there is a tention in your jaw, it can be really relieving. I follow instructional videos on yt.

When I have a longer period of going into downward spiral, then every way to distract my brain is good - TV shows, internet content that is not related to my life situation (although, sometimes It's good to distance yourself from social media), for example, I like criminal podcasts, cause they are occupying enough to distract a miserable brain, meeting somebody, going to a place I've never been before. + any kind of shedule, reason to leave the house, any goal, anything positive to look forward to and having even the simplest things done, is a blessing (even if sometimes It's the last thing I wanna do). I also tend to be much sadder in the evening, so I just go to sleep. When nothing works, then It's time for the professional help.

Discovering Cocteau Twins.

i don't watch love and redemption so the only idea i have is that you are watching a long tv show about a cute couple (with miss bangs & pining side-part hair guy) and another couple that's just bloodied and dying all the time (who might be the same pairing just with different hair). is there a plot or does this show just contain the torture of pining cuties?

hoo boy i haven’t done one of these in a long time, but this is probably a good show for that, so.

OKAY where do we start? this is yet another period cdrama with a cultivation/xianxia-based focus so this should be familiar to y’all the untamed buddies. there are five major sects - miss bangs and pining side-part hair guy are from different sects, and meet at one of the conferences/competitions, it’s all very romcom meet cute.

this is miss bangs - chu xuanji. cxj was born with some fault in all her six senses (she can’t feel pain, can’t taste food, can’t see colours etc), so her cultivation level is HMM even though she’s the daughter of the main sect leader. she gets by lazing around and being doted on by her elder sister and various shixiongs.

this is pining side-part hair guy - my favourite soft boy, yu sifeng. he’s the most talented cultivator in his sect, and essentially in line to become the next sect leader. he is soft and beautiful and i wanted only good things for him the moment i saw him, but i soon learnt he was clearly set to go on a whole ride of pain.

ysf’s sect rules requires them to wear a mask at all times when they’re outside the sect. this mask must never, ever, ever be taken off in front of outsiders. three guesses what cxj does. :)))

same, girl, same. i was shaken by his beauty too.

ANYWAY this all happened when they accidentally broke into secret vault in cxj’s sect. the mask is left there while they escape the vault. cxj gets locked up in an ice cave over this; ysf is going to get punished once he gets back to his sect if he cannot retrieve the mask. they make a deal to help each other, and end up becoming friends. ofc in the process, ysf also falls head over heels. :’)

is this the part where i mention that cxj doesn’t understand/cannot feel love? and also that ysf’s terrible sect also has a rule against falling in love? yeah? yeah.

ysf tragically has to go back to his own sect after the conference is over. he doesn’t even get to say goodbye to cxj because she got injured before ysf had to leave, and didn’t wake up in time to see him leave. :(

they never really did get ysf’s mask back, so the evil 2ic of the sect tries to get ysf punished over it. ysf eventually does submit to the punishment for losing his mask and also falling in love (which he freely admitted to the sect leader!! we love one earnest boy!!!). he’s made to go through 18 levels of trials in the ~punishment realm~ to prove his worth to the sect, and MY BOY DOES IT ALL!!! the whole time he thinks about cxj, and their promise to meet each other again!!!!

and then!!! he gets told that to complete his punishment, he must put on a new mask, a cursed one this time to deter him from falling in love again - if he goes through three heartbreaks, he dies. :(

this is just the beginning of our sweet boy’s pain. it just. gets exponentially worse from here for ysf when they meet again four years later.

i won’t go into any more detail, but this show features fun cdrama tropes that i 100% endorse like: unrequited love related misunderstandings; you hurt me in every single previous lifetime; sweet boy can’t be happy for more than 15 mins of showtime at a time; so much whump and crying; how can we be together when your family was responsible for my mother’s death; everything i do, i do for you, but you never believe me; and etc.

the last maybe 5 eps of the show i thought were a little hmm, but the rest of it was fun to watch! it’s not all about pain and sadness, there are some very cute scenes, and we get to see ysf be happy in a lot of parts! (ofc he does almost always immediately have that ripped away from him, i was NOT kidding over the weekend when i kept screaming that his life was too hard.)
