Jealous!Protective!Korekiyo x Clumsy!Reader
✨they/them pronouns used✨
✨fluff, angst and fluff at the end✨
CW: nothing really, just Korekiyo hearing Y/N stretch and it makes him blush, Kiyo being jealous, pajama sleeve sliding down Y/N’s shoulder, slightly suggestive?, jealousy, profanity
Korekiyo decided to surprise his S/O with their favorite snack that he prepared just for them with a tiny bit of help from Kirumi. He decides to send Y/N a text.
‘Y/N, good morning. Are you awake?’ SEND.
‘Mornin Kiyo… am not really awake rn… What’s up?’ SEND.
Kiyo gasps in shock. ‘Oh dear, I’m sorry to have woken you up. Are you alright, do you want to resume your nap?’ SEND.
‘Eh it’s ok, I’ll get up. I accidentally took a three hour nap. Guess I got into a food coma after breakfast? Lemme get up’ SEND.
‘Alright, I’ve got a surprise for you, by the way.’ SEND.
“Oh my, now he’s gotten me curious!” Y/N asks themself, clapping their hands in excitement and giggling to themself. “Alright, Y/N, ya gotta get up. Your boyfriend has a surprise for you.”
Little do they know that Kiyo wanted to surprise them at the door. He’s patiently standing at the door, with a little chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting on it. He gets butterflies but knocks on the door once he sighs to relieve his anxiety.
“Himiko, is that you? I can’t wait to watch your magic show this afternoon! I talked about it with Gonta last night while he was teaching me about the different kinds of ladybugs! Lemme get up- OH SHIT!” They slide off the bed. “Christ on a stick, that hurt! That’s juuuust great, a bruise is gonna pop up soon…” They sigh and stretch to wake themself up.
Korekiyo hears them stretch and blushes for whatever reason. “I-I didn’t know people made noises when they stretch… Maybe it’s just something Y/N does? It’s a mystery.” He then hears them walking and they bump into the door, making a loud THUMP noise. “Oop. Didn’t mean to do that, Himiko! I’m all good! It’s normal for me..!”
They see their (favorite color) pajama shirt part of their PJ outfit starting to slide down one of their shoulders. “Oh shoot!” They try to fix that but it slides down again, but fortunately it doesn’t slide any more. At that point, they give up and open the door, yawning. “Sorry, Himiko, my clumsiness got the better of me, I should not have stayed up until midnight. I think I ended up falling asleep on the floor haha-“ They look up to see a confused looking Korekiyo.
“H-Hello, Y/N. I made you a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting because Kirumi informed me that you really enjoy chocolate. She helped me a small bit. But I hope you enjoy it. Would you like to come with me to the courtyard? There’s tables and chairs underneath some cherry blossoms there.” He asks.
Y/N finally opens her eyes and sees Kiyo looking at them, patiently waiting for answer. They blush super hard and continuously try to fix their sleeve. Them blushing causes Kiyo to blush pretty hard and tremble slightly and almost drops his plate.
“O-Oh dear. I guess you’ve never seen me with PJs on. You’re one of the few people here in this academy who have seen my pajamas. This stupid sleeve wouldn’t stay put, maybe I can see if Kirumi can tighten them one of these days. A-Anyway, let’s go to the tables, I would love to try what you made for me, which is so sweet by the way, I really appreciate it!” They smile.
Korekiyo and Y/N make their way to the tables. Y/N has a little spring in their step and their sleeve slides down their shoulder, though they are just happily making their way to the table and they aren’t even aware that Kaito is in front of them.
Until they bump into him. “Oof-“ they silently say as they look up at Kaito. “Ohh! Kaito! I didn’t see you there! Afternoon!” They exclaim with a really big smile. “Hey there, Y/N!” They high five. “Do you want to come vibe at the courtyard with Kiyo and I?”
“Hmm… as long as Kiyo is fine with it, I don’t mind, my dude.” Kaito smiles and Korekiyo then walks up to Y/N. “Oh, Kiyo! Hey! Y/N here says that you’re going to the courtyard soon and they wanted to know if I could come along with you two. I won’t, like, be the awkward third wheel or anything.”
“S-Sure...” Kiyo responds back, sounding a little annoyed. Y/N’s eyes sparkle as they jump up and down with sparkling eyes. “Alright, let’s make our way there! I’m gonna get a head start!”
Literally them as they run towards the doors:
Tumblr media
Kiyo happily waves at them as they run off and then turns his head rather quickly and glares at Kaito menacingly, but stays quiet. Kaito gets a little spooked, so he runs off and meets up with Y/N.
“Haaa… Y/N, there you are! Dude, I forget how big this academy is sometimes ….” Kaito exclaims.
Y/N is muttering profanities left and right as they look at their bruised knee. Kaito looks down at Y/N, who’s on the ground. Kaito bursts out laughing. “Ah, sorry for laughing. You good, though? A-Anyways, let’s go to the courtyard so we can vibe!” Kaito happily walks away, with Y/N happily walking with him.
Kiyo makes annoyed noises as he slowly makes his way to the courtyard. Y/N and Kaito make it to the courtyard table and sit down, across from each other. The two are just catching up about just everything. “So then I told Shuichi and Maki Roll while we doing our training stuff that ‘the impossible is possible, all you gotta do is make it so!’ and Shuichi seemed to like that. I saw Rantaro the other day painting Kaede’s nails the other day and I’m gonna be serious, can I ask you something?” Kaito asks.
Y/N happily nods. “Yeah my dude, you can tell me anything!” Kaito sighs. “I’m… kinda jealous. I wouldn’t be apposed to Rantaro painting my nails, but… I’m embarrassed to ask.” “Tell ya what! Next week, I’ll get my nails painted (insert favorite color here) and I can bring you with! Trust me, it’s amazing!”
Kiyo finally makes his way to the courtyard and sits next to Y/N. “Hello there, dear. Did I miss anything?” Korekiyo asks, readjusting Y/N’s sleeve again. “Not much, we were just catching up and I got a bruise. It’s not the end of the world. I literally trip on everything. Kaito get this. Literally yesterday I was walking upstairs and tripped on my own feet?? No idea why that happens, but I guess I’m a bit of a clumsy oaf.”
Kaito and Kiyo exchange glances. Kaito tries to resist the urge to laugh, but just starts laughing like crazy. Kiyo glares at Kaito and then he’s speechless. “Haha.. ahh, that is hilarious. Just Y/N things, am I right?” Y/N nods and they turn to look at the night sky.
“The stars look so pretty! Look at them, Kiyo! … Is that one changing colors??” Y/N asks, confused.
“Yeah! Did you know that stars can be different colors? I personally like the blue one. One day, I wanna go fly to the sky and check out the stars. You’ll be the first person to know about my stories and what I saw, I promise!” Kaito says, winking in a friendly way.
Kaito rambles for a few hours and Y/N is flat out dead asleep on Kiyo’s chest. “Shit, it’s getting late. I should go hit the hay soon. See ya Y/N! … Y/N?” He turns around and sees Y/N, sleeping peacefully with their boyfriend has his hand on her head, as if he’s protecting them??? Kaito gets confused and walks away with his hands in his pockets.
God that’s so cute, you don’t need to do that though, Kiyo
Kiyo gently taps on their shoulder, waking them up. “Hm..? Kaito? Where did he… go?” They ask while rubbing their eyes. “He… was tired so he went back to the dorm.” Korekiyo’s eyes start to glow, unable to keep his anger in anymore.
“Speaking of Kaito, what was THAT?! He was clearly flirting with you! Did you not see that?! HOW did you NOT see that?!” Kiyo exclaims. “I didn’t. I genuinely didn’t. If he was actually flirting with me, why didn’t you stop him?! Why didn’t you do anything!?”
“Because you were having a good time and catching up on things with somebody you don’t see a lot these days! And I didn’t want to ruin that for you!”
“… wait a minute. How did you know about that? How did you know that I was catching up with him?”
Korekiyo just kinda does this 👇🏻
Tumblr media
“Were you intentionally taking your time? Were you eavesdropping on our conversation? I can’t believe it! It’s all over your face! You not saying anything is just icing on the cake!” Y/N explains with their pajama shirt’s sleeve sliding down even more than before.
“W-Wait, Y/N, let me expl-“ “SAVE IT, KOREKIYO! I don’t want to hear your bullshit lies!” Y/N exclaims with a hint of a growl in their voice. They storm off.
Korekiyo watches them storm off. He then sighs and sits at the table and stares at the night sky. “I had a bad feeling about Kaito this whole time… Does Y/N actually not know when people are flirting with them? Or were they just saying that?”
He looks at the ground and just walks inside the building. He enters the building and walks to his dorm room. “… just wait for them to cool off. You need to just wait, Korekiyo.” He starts to pace around his room. “I’m just going to go to my lab to distract myself.”
He makes his way to his lab and opens the door. He stares at his pot full of roses and just stares at them. “These are beautiful. Y/N and I grew these together. That’s what makes them even more beautiful. Them. They’re beautiful in all ways. Even their flaws make them beautiful.” He blushes really hard. “I must find them and apologize to them. I would only assume that they’re in their room or elsewhere.”
Kiyo spots Himiko. “Himiko, have you seen Y/N? I’ve been trying to find them.” Himiko looks at Kiyo, with an upset expression. “Nyeh, why would I want to tell you where they are?” Korekiyo sighs. “Thanks for your help, I guess.” He continues to pursue them.
Hallways? Nope. Game room? Nah. Cafeteria? Kind of? He found a box of pocky. That’s worth something, so he put it in his pocket. “Pocky..? That’s Y/N’s favorite kind of pocky, so I’m getting somewhere.” Kiyo mutters to himself.
He casually walks around the building until he hears Kiibo and some familiar voices, including Y/N’s voice in the library. “Found them.” “MAN, it feels good to take this pajama shirt off. It felt like I was on fire.” “Y-Y/N, please don’t say that, somebody might hear you say that and or doesn’t sound too good out of context!! What if your boyfriend was nearby and heard that? He’d get suspicious!” Kiibo exclaims
Shocked at what he hears, he aggressively pushes the door open and it hits the wall. Kiyo stares at Y/N and then at Kiibo and then at Kaede. He blushes really hard at the sight of Y/N in a (favorite color(s) tanktop and covers his face for a while. Kiibo raises his hands and walks out. “I wasn’t doing anything suspicious, I was just telling them that it wasn’t wise to shout that.”
Kaede just nopes out of the room. “Nope, not dealing with this.” Korekiyo watches his companions leave and looks at Y/N like this.
Tumblr media
“My oh my, dearest. There you are. My beautiful rose. I was looking for you to apologize for what I did. Can you forgive me for eavesdropping on your conversation and snapping at you?”
Man I swear this dude has rizz
They start to blush hard. “Y-Yeah…”
“Thank you, dear. It means a lot to me. By the way, what was it you and Kaito were talking about? You don’t have to get specific if you don’t want to.” Kiyo asks, tilting his head to the side.
“W-Well, I’m sure Kaito wouldn’t want me t-talking about it, but we just plan on hanging out- nothing bad I promise! Just hanging out.” Y/N replies and Korekiyo smiles. “You look so cute when you blush like this.” Y/N raises her eyebrow. “Oh yeah? Well you look handsome when you blush too~, I’ve never seen you blush like this before.” Y/N scoots closer to Korekiyo and gives him a big hug. “And I’m sorry too… for the yelling. I love you.”
Kiyo smiles warmly. “Your heartbeat… it’s racing a little bit. And I love you so much more.” Kiyo and Y/N smile and Kiyo gets a little peck on the cheek. “M-My oh my… H-How u-unexpected.” He looks at the clock. “Oh gosh, look at the time, it’s three in the morning. But I don’t want to get up just now, I just want to feel your heartbeat for j-just a little while longer.”
“But we’re gonna have to-“ Y/N yawns. “-go home eventually. You make me feel so loved. I’ve never felt this before.” Korekiyo gasps and stands up. He reaches for Y/N’s hand. They stand up and they walk to Y/N’s dorm room. “What were you saying about not feeling loved like this before’?”
Kiyo and Y/N stand in front of Y/N’s door. “It… it’s a long story. I’ll explain it to you one of these days. As much as I would love to keep talking, I feel quite tired. See you in the morning?” They ask. “But of course, darling. I love you, I’ll see you in the morning, or specifically, later in the morning.” He gives them a peck on the cheek. They’re so happy that they go into their room, blush so hard that they are tomato red (from blushing) and dive into their bed and happily shove their face into their pillow and happily giggles. Kiyo hears their giggles and walks to his room, feeling happy and blushing, knowing that he just made their night.
The next day, Kaede walks into the library and realizes that their pajama shirt is still there. She blushes at the sight, picks up the shirt and walks to their dorm room with a note saying “Y/N, you left this in the library. -Kaede”

I saw you have tbb prompt requests open, and I'd love some family fluff between omega and tech!! not sure what a good word count is, maybe 500?
Rainy Day's
word count: 500
Omega and Tech are left to watch over the ship
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Perhaps it was the rainy day, Perhaps it was because they were both stuck watching over the airship, but Tech and Omega made the best of it. Omega would splash around in the puddles while Tech worked on any damages on the ship, sometimes splashing Tech with the water. Tech would splash back with the nearest puddle he could find, causing them both to laugh and snort with joy “Tech, if you got your name for being such a whiz with technology, then why was I named Omega?” “Perhaps it’s because you are a complete alteration to the normal cloning DNA pursuit” he replied, looking onto her “.....What?” “I’m saying it’s probably because you’re a girl…” “Ooooh!” Tech chuckled at her child-like responde “why do you ask such a question, anyway?” “Oh, I dunno.. Guess I’m just curious” Omega hung onto the railing of the door platform, swinging around “Careful, Omega. I don’t want you getting hurt. And I don’t want you breaking the railing” Omega mouthed ‘blah blah blah’ playfully as Tech spoke, giggling at his playfully annoyed smile, rolling his eyes and walking back into the ship, accidentally bumping into Gonky “Oops, sorry little guy” Tech said walking into the cockpit area of the ship, Omega sat on the top step and laid back, watching Tech “watcha doing?” “Checking engine vitals” “Why?” “Seeing if we need fuel” “Oh, I thought we refilled recently?” “Man you’re just packed full of questions tonight, aren't you” Tech shook his head looking back to Omega, who had moved to one of the chairs behind him, As Tech worked, Omega zoned out, staring at the rain as it rolled down onto the ships windshield, watching the droplets combine and race with each other “Hey, Tech..?” “Yes?” “Don’t you like it when it rains..?” Tech turned to her, smiling softly “Very much so, it's very peaceful..” “Yeah, unlike our little family” the two erupted into laughter, Tech sat down in a seat next to Omega, crossing one leg over the other, finally relaxing, he looked over noticing Omega was drifting to sleep, he lifted her up and held her in his lap, kicking his feet up on the dashboard, rocking back and forth with her in his arms “Tech..” Omega mumbled “What is it, Omega?” “I love you..” She purred, snuggling up to him, Tech sighed. He didn’t know how to reply, ‘I love you too small sister?’ ‘mutual feelings onto you as well?’ he didn’t know, but what he did know was that regardless if he said it or not, he knew Omega knew he did. “You’re the best sister I could’ve asked for, Omega” he cooed, squeezing Omega gently, eventually, she ended up falling asleep. Tech got up and took her to her small bedroom in the back of the ship, laying her small body into the soft blankets of the bed. Tucking her in and placing her Koth-Cat plush next to her, he sat by her the rest of the night
I’m currently trying to write a friends to lovers fluffy to cocky tasm Peter Parker smutty thing idk, I’d love to see your take on it!
I don't want to write something that you're working on! But I can give you a few little headcanons that come to mind.
Peter couldn't out right say "I love you" so he resorts to childhood bullying tactics (the little boy pulling on the little girls pigtails kinda thing). He'd use different phrases to cover up his feelings but they all mean I love you: "You're so dumb." "I hate you." "I hope you choke and die." aka I love you so much please never leave me.
They'd be really physical with each other. Always play fighting because that's a good way to get really close and touchy with each other under the guise of fighting. I think of Simba and Nala from The Lion King with the "Haha, pinned ya again!" as they wrestle. Then there can be that moment one of them is on top, they're both breathing heavily, and they stare at each other for a little bit too long. Then there's the quick blush and pushing away from each other pretending like they weren't both just super turned on.
The jealously! When one of them is flirting with someone else and the other is quietly seething. Peter "accidentally" bumping into the guy or spilling a drink on him or something. "Oops, sorry. Didn't you see there. Hope that boiling hot coffee on your crotch doesn't hurt too much."
Watching a scary movie just for the sake of cuddling on the couch in each others arms for protection. Or going to a haunted corn maze at Halloween and having to cling to each other the whole time.
The amount of people who just assume their dating because they're always together. "Can you hand this to your girlfriend?" "Oh, she's not-" Then deciding not to correct them because they secretly like how it sounds.
They're both able to get each other so angry because of all their emotions hidden under the surface ready to explode at a moments notice. "I told you to put the bag on the table, Peter! Not on the chair!" "Why are you yelling at me?!" "Because you never fucking listen!"
Her falling asleep on his shoulder and him lightly brushing hair out of her face and getting to stare loving at her for as long as he wants because she's asleep.
When they do finally kiss, there's a moment when they both just give a sigh of relief and they relax into each other because they've been waiting so long for this.
Tag me or link to the fic when you've written it though! I want to read it!
The Demon Bros: Waking up from their first sex dream about you
Lucifer
• His alarm goes off and he jolts upright in bed, thoughts and images from his dream racing through his mind
• He realizes that he’s very hard, and his face is covered in a deep blush
• He sorts out his little (big) problem, and goes to breakfast, desperately trying to get his mind off the dream
• He’s almost successful, until he opens the doors and sees you sitting alone at the table, wearing a tank top and shorts
• “M-Morning, MC” he stammers
• You look up, “Lucifer? Are you alright?” you ask, never having heard him stutter before
• “Yeah, I’m fine. Just tired” he brushes off the question, and you can tell something is up, but don’t want to push him
• “Alright Luce, come sit. I’ll get you tea” you say, pulling back the chair that’s next to yours as you get up, walking over to the table to get him his favorite tea
• You accidentally bump into him, and his face blushes deep red
• “Lucifer, are you sure everything is okay? You know you can always talk to me”
• “Yeah, sorry. I didn’t mean to bump into you”
• You can feel his eyes burning into your back as you make his tea
• You walk it to him and set it down in front of him, his eyes staying locked on you the entire time
• “Lucifer…” you start, but he cuts you off by pressing his lips to yours
• You’re surprised, but definitely not upset about this, and once the surprise wears off you grip the back of his hair with your fingers
• The two of you get pretty carried away, you’re straddling his hips when Asmo opens the door and gasps
• “Finally!! Congrats, MC!! You finally put the moves on Lucifer, huh”
• You blush, and Lucifer smirks at you, “Oh? So you’ve wanted to do this for a while then?”
• “Oh damn, did Lucifer make the first move? I wasn’t expecting that!” Asmo giggles, “But either way I’m glad you two are finally clearing the sexual tension
• You clear the sexual tension all right, for the rest of the day and into the night oops
Mammon
• It’s the middle of the day when he’s suddenly hit with the memory of his dream
• He’s hanging out with you in his room, you’re doing homework and trying to get mammon to study for a test he has
• He goes silent, and you look over to see a hand over his mouth, like he’s in shock
• “Mammon?”
• “It’s nothing…don’t worry about it human”
• You punch his arm playfully, but he jerks away
• Your heart stings, and it’s clear on your face
• “MC, shit, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that…”
• “Mammon…what was that?”
• He doesn’t want to be honest, but he knows you’ll get the truth out of him one way or another
• So, he tells you
• You blush, like a lot
• He gets a bit rambly at the end, talking about how he hopes this doesn’t change your friendship and that he doesn’t want you to be upset with him
• Only one way to reassure him that you aren’t…
• A kiss!
• He’s !! at first, but then relaxes into the kiss
• “I’ve wanted to kiss you for a while now, Mammon. This was the perfect excuse”
• He get’s all cute and blushy
• “Awh, you have a crush on the Great Mammon!” he teases
• “Shut up~” you blush, and lean in and kiss him again
• You feel like you could kiss him for hours and not get tired of it, so that’s exactly what you do
Leviathan
• He wakes up covered in sweat, breathing heavily
• It’s 3 in the morning, so he knows you won’t be awake
• Wait, you’re his best friend! He can’t have a sex dream about his best friend!
• That’s when he hears his phone vibrate, and it’s none other than you
• Within a few minutes you’re knocking on his door, wearing the hoodie he leant you no less
• “Levi…I had a nightmare…can we cuddle” you whisper, usually not this forward but it was 3 am and you just wanted to be in your crush’s arms
• He nods, and the two of you walk to his bed
• You notice he’s a bit, well, hard, and don’t know whether or not to mention it
• But it’s 3 am and you’re hit with a wave of horniness, so when he spoons you you push your ass against him
• You feel him tense up, but the quiet moan that escapes his lips is validation enough for you to slowly begin grinding against him
• His hand holds your hip as you grind against him, both of you breathing heavily
• You turn to face him, the two of you locking eyes and silently agreeing that you were going to take your friendship to the next level
• You climb on top of him and resume grinding against him, bringing your lips together in sloppy, hungry kisses
• You have sex, and fall asleep in each other’s arms
• The next morning you’re both 😳, but you confess to having liked him for a while and by the time you’re at breakfast the two of you are officially dating
Satan
• He fell asleep in his chair reading again, but notices the blanket draped over him, bookmark carefully placed in his book that was not placed on the table beside him
• He quickly places that you were reading with him, and blushes at your kindness
• His blush then deepens when he’s hit with the memory of his dream
• Clips of you kissing, grinding against him, him thrusting deep into you in every position he could imagine flying through his mind, and he realizes that he’s very hard because of it
• He turns to look at his bed, and is surprised to find you in it, sitting by the window and reading late into the night
• You notice him stir, and turn to look at him. You’re dressed in just one of his tee shirts and your underwear. “Hey there sleepyhead” you tease, “Want to come lay down?”
• He nods, but realizes he can’t get up without you seeing his ~issue~
• “Satan?”
• “Mmmm…I’m gonna stay here for a minute” he says, and you think you know what’s going on
• You stand up, walking over to him and swaying your hips a bit more than usual, letting his shirt graze your thighs
• You watch as his eyes trail your body, smirking as your heart rate increases
• You stand at the front of the chair and lean over, resting your hands on the arms of his chair and putting your faces close together
• “Satan~ Why won’t you come sleep with me~” you tease, fully accepting that you were basically confessing to him
• He exhales with sexual frustration, and you lean even closer
• “Satan…” you whisper breathily against his lips, and before you know it his hands are holding your face and he’s kissing you deeply
• You spend the rest of the night making his dream come to life
Asmodeus
• He wakes up ~fashionably late~, and is in the middle of picking his outfit when he remembers
• He blushes a bit, but chuckles to himself
• “MC, MC…you’ve got me…huh” he admits to himself, and sends you a quick text asking you to come to his room
• You arrive within a few minutes, and can tell that he has something crazy he’s going to propose
• But you didn’t expect that he was going to confess a sex dream about you !
• It’s not like you hadn’t had them about him, but you didn’t think he’d had them about you
• “So, whaddya say? Care to make my dream come to life~”
• You blush and nod, “It’d be my pleasure~”
• You simultaneously bring your lips together and running your hands up and down each other’s bodies
• You walk to the bed together, falling back on it with him on top of you, rolling his hips perfectly against yours
• He starts kissing down your neck, and you shakily breathe out his name, begging him to keep going
• You go for quite a few rounds, him bringing you to as many climaxes as you bring him
Beelzebub
• He’s surprisingly calm about the whole thing
• That is, until he sees you in the kitchen, still in your pajamas and sleepily eating a bagel
• He quickly checks you out, which you act like you don’t notice
• You heart was warm at the sight of him coming in, and it beat fast when you saw him check you out
• You get up and walk to him at the fridge, slipping your body in front of his and pressing against him
• “Morning Beel” you say, exaggerating the tiredness in your voice because you knew he thought it was cute
• “Morning baby” he responds, not realizing the pet name until after it slipped out
• You smile, turning around to face him and reaching your arms up and wrapping your arms around his neck
• “I like the pet name, honey. You should keep using it”
• He blushes, but nods. He looks into your eyes, trying to read them
• You make it easier for him, “So Beel, does this mean I can call you mine”
• He’s a bit taken aback by how forward you’re being, but leans down and presses a kiss to your forehead
• “Please~”, his voice is soft but confident, and he feels like he’s been in love with you for as long as he can remember, even though he just realized it this morning
• You bring his face down and lightly kiss his lips, smiling against them
• “Good” you say, heart smiling with love for your boyfriend
Belphegor
• He’s woken up from a nap abruptly, eyes shooting open with realization over what just happened
• He can usually control his dreams, which is why he was so surprised by this one
• He knew his heart felt different around you, but he didn’t think anything of it
• Until now, that is
• And he jumps out of his skin when he hears you knock on his door, “Belphegor! We have class, let’s go! Lucifer’s getting pissed!”
• “Uhhhh fuck” he groans, “Gimme a minute”
• “One minute, and then I’m coming in” you warn him, not wanting either of you to face the wrath of Lucifer (and also because you loved how much his room smelled like him)
• You wait about 20 seconds before opening the door, and you freeze and blush when you catch him shirtless, only in boxers
• “Damn, my bad” you say, but don’t move
• You hold eye contact for a moment, neither of you saying anything before you take the move and trace your eyes down his body, stopping on his boxers and tracing the outline of his length, which you note is very hard
• You step in and close the door behind you, locking it
• “Belphie~” you tease, walking towards him as he backed up towards his bed, nervous about what your intentions were
• “You put a hand on his bicep, and squeeze lightly, “I can uh, help you, if you want” He takes a moment to think, but nods and presses his hips to yours
• You miss your first class of the day heh
First things first! How did you and Akaashi meet?
We technically met in high school. Like we’ve seen each other in the hallways and stuff but we didn’t “officially” meet until college. And the only reason we started to talk to each other was because one time I was rushing to class I accidentally bumped into him and spilled my pumpkin spice latte on him.
Then what happened?
(you stifle a laughter as you look at your husband sitting across from you, Akaashi looks at you curiously) I quickly apologized but he could tell I wasn’t being sincere. AND the only reason why I didn’t sound sincere, although I was apologetic, was because I was too preoccupied with my pumpkin latte. That was the first time I got it, so I was really excited to try it. You know Starbucks ain’t cheap right? hahahaha
He was a little mad actually, because he had just gotten that shirt. But my baby is a patient man, plus after he got a good look at my adorable face, he decided to use the chance to ask me out. He asked for my number, using some lame excuse about buying him another shirt. He’ll probably tell you he was genuinely looking for reparation for his shirt. BUT I know it’s because he wanted to ask me out.
So how did you guys end up dating?
We ended up shopping for a new shirt for him and he wouldn’t even let me pay, but I did treat us to dinner that night. We went on a few more dates and each date allowed us to really get to know each other better and realize how similar we are. We always joke that if we had gotten to know each other better in high school, we’d definitely be high school sweethearts.
Does he have any pet peeves that drive you crazy?
(you glare at your husband, who didn’t even notice because he was looking down at his feet, trying hard to not fall asleep) oh yes, for some reason, this man refuses to turn his phone to vibration at night and his ringtone is “country road”. And you know who likes to call him late at night? His best friend Bokuto. So many nights were spent as I was about to fall asleep, suddenly country road comes blasting out of nowhere.
What about something about him that you love?
oh man this one is hard because he’s really lovable. If I had to choose, I’d say his thoughtfulness. We rarely fight because of that. He’s so good at knowing how I feel all the time. It’s like he can read my mind sometimes.
What is one thing you feel like you don’t tell him enough?
(you look at Akaashi, who’s studying you, a small smile playing on his lips) Thank you. I feel like I don’t express my gratitude for him enough. I was in a bad place before I met him and he pieced me back together. He’s one of the biggest reason I’m here today doing what I love with the full support of the love of my life. (you turn to him) Thank you darling
Tumblr media
Akaashi smiles at you as he slips off his headphones and hands them to you.
So I heard you guys went out on your first date because she spilled coffee on you?
Well it wasn’t coffee that she spilt on me, it was pumpkin spice latte and I will always remember because I ended up smelling like warm cinnamon the rest of the day PLUS my new shirt got ruined because of her. But you’re right, that incident was responsible for our first date.
What was your impression of her?
My first impression was clumsy and rude. This girl comes running out of nowhere, spills some Starbucks on my new shirt and doesn’t even sound genuinely sorry (Akaashi looks at you and laughs). But then I caught a glimpse of her face and I let it go hahahaha
What was going through your mind when you asked her out?
Well I asked for her number, using some excuse about buying me a new shirt. I mean, I did really want to get a new shirt, but honestly, I just wanted to hangout with her.
She did mention how the shirt was only an excuse for you to ask her out
(Akaashi looks at you with an amused smile -- you looked back at him curiously) Yeah, my wife knows me well
What is your favorite memory together?
(Akaashi brings one hand up to his head, running through his black hair) Oh man, this is really hard. Would it be too cheesy to say every moment is a favorite memory? (he laughs and ponders for a moment) If I really really really had to choose, I’d say the time she got sick and was a little high off her medicine.
What happend?
She was running a high fever and as the medicine brought down her temperature, she started to hallucinate (Akaashi laughs at the memory). It was so funny because she started pretending like we were in New York City, which was the first leg of our honeymoon. She would run around the room, taking pictures of random objects and yell at me saying, “babe look at all these New York things!”. She also stood on the chair and pretended to be the Statue of Liberty. But my favorite part was when she thought we were on top of the Empire State Building and kissed me and told me how much she loved me. (Akaashi smiles at you) I got sick a few days later, but it was worth it
What is your favorite thing about your relationship?
She’s my rock, my home. She’s like the eternal ray of sunshine in my life.
Tumblr media
That wraps up our interview for today! Last but not least, any last words you guys want to say to each other?
Akaashi: I’ll love you forever...
You: Sid
Akaashi: what? who is Sid?
You (laughing at your husband’s confused expression): that’s why I tell you to be on Tiktok more. But I love you too forever and ever
Hi!! I'm not sure if you'll take it (and that's 100% okay!!) but as a request can you write hotch x younger, shy reader? I'm just all about that age gap with him (yes, that's my daddy issues speaking up). Have a nice day!! ❤
hi! this was so fun to write. i was aiming for like, idk, 500 words? and then oops! i wrote almost 2000. i accidentally made it specifically for a female reader, so let me know if that doesn’t work for you and i can tweak it. also, sorry if the end feels rushed, but i’m about to fall asleep and i wanted to wrap this one up so i could write the other requests tomorrow. let me know what you think! xx
aaron hotchner x reader - surprise me
“Hey, (Y/N). Drinks? Everyone’s going.” You hear Derek ask. You smile before spinning around in your desk chair.
“God, yes. I was hoping you’d ask, I really need to blow off some steam.” You reply, getting up and grabbing your bag, having already packed up for the night. The team had just gotten back from Middle-of-Nowhere, Kansas, and to say the case was intellectually challenging was an understatement. It felt a lot like piecing together a never-ending puzzle, but you had saved the lives of countless innocent people. There was no better feeling.
Drinking is a close second, however, which is why you were impatiently pacing near the elevator as the rest of your team gathered their things. As soon as everyone arrived, you filed into the elevator.
“You look excited, (Y/N).” Emily said with a smile, knocking her shoulder into yours. You laugh.
“Why wouldn’t I be? Any excuse to spend more time with my favorite group of people!” You say, your voice taking on a teasing tone as you poke a pink-polished finger into Reid’s side. Reid yelps and jumps away, blushing slightly. The rest of the team laughs, Morgan reaching to ruffle his hair. You smile at the sight. They were truly a second family to you. The elevator doors were nearly closed when a large hand reached in and caused the doors to jerk and reopen.
And there he was.
Your boss, Aaron Hotchner. You tensed despite yourself as he slid in right next to you. Rossi clapped him on the shoulder.
“Nice of you to join us.” He said. Hotch nodded, professional as ever. Everyone looked as surprised as you felt.
“You’re coming out with us, sir? You never come.” Garcia said, not unkindly. You all understood his commitment to his son, so you couldn’t really blame him for always being too busy for drinks. Unlike everyone else, your surprise was less pleasant and more panicked. Even though you’d been on the team for well over a year, you still found it extremely difficult to talk to Hotch outside of a case.
It might have something to do with you being head over heels for the older man.
“Jack is with his aunt for the weekend, so JJ convinced me to tag along. I hope that’s alright with everyone.” He said, looking directly at you. You nod and force a tight smile, missing the way your discomfort makes his brows furrow.
There goes your plan to let loose. You can’t help but monitor every word, every movement you make when you’re around Hotch. You found him attractive the moment you met him, the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that you realized you actually had feelings for the man. You loved how caring and loyal he was, and you appreciated every smile and laugh he allowed himself. He was also a natural leader, solid in a way no other man in your life had been. You understood, however, that Hotch would never settle for someone as young and inexperienced as you. Aside from the odd celebrity crush, you had never felt so attracted to an older man. It left you floundered, constantly at a loss for words. He probably thought you were an immature girl who couldn’t control her feelings at 28.
You rode with Emily to the bar, who couldn’t stop laughing at your nerves. She was your best friend, so she knew all about your unfortunate crush. Hopefully she was the only one.
“He’s really a nice guy, (Y/N). Not intimidating at all. Well, not when you actually talk to him. You should try it sometime.” She said, pulling the bar door open for you. You rolled your eyes.
“I do talk to him. That’s the problem. The more I’m around him the more likely it is that I die of a broken heart. Do you want me to die, Prentiss? Is that what you want?” You said. Emily barks out a laugh at your theatrics. Your conversation is cut short as you approach the large round booth your team is occupying for the night. Emily sneaks over to sit next to Rossi, leaving only the seat next to Hotch. She smiles with false sweetness and you slide in across from her, and you kick her lightly under the table. You stay as close to the edge of the seat as you can manage, trying your hardest not to impinge on Hotch’s personal space.
You’re about to ask if anyone wants a drink when Hotch slides your favorite drink, a Moscow Mule, over to you.
“It’s your favorite, right?” Hotch asks, his voice soft over the noise of the bar. You falter. How did he know that? You probably haven’t ordered a drink in front of him in months.
“Um, uh, yeah. Thank you.” You say. He nods curtly. You both turn away from each other, and you sip at your drink, hoping it’ll take the edge off soon enough.
Despite the pleasant conversation you have with your team, you can’t shake your nerves. Three drinks deep and still feeling like you’ve had the breath knocked out of you every time you see Hotch laugh.
“So, Hotch. Anyone special in your life?” Garcia asks boldly, trying to shake the attention off her and her current love life.
Nope. Not happening. You get up from the table abruptly, shaking the table slightly as you do so. Great, now everyone is looking at you.
“Um. Anybody want another drink?” You ask. JJ requests another vodka soda and Hotch politely asks for a beer. You never drink beer, but you’re too nervous to ask which kind. You rush off to the bar, where a bartender about your age is wiping down the counter.
“Hi! Can I get a vodka soda, a glass of water, and a beer, please?” You ask, feeling your nerves dissolve. The bartender looks up, his blonde hair falling over his eyes.
“What kind of beer?” He asks. You shrug, defeated.
“Honestly, just surprise me.” You say. He smiles, clearly amused, and turns to get your drinks. You don’t even notice someone approaching until you hear a familiar voice clear his throat.
“(Y/N).” He says. You turn, trying not to shy away as Hotch towers over you.
“Yes?” You say, willing your voice to not sound squeaky.
“Can we talk?” He asks, pulling at his tie.
Fuck.
“Sure. Let me just…” You trail off, motioning at the bartender. Hotch nods in understanding. Just as he does, the bartender slides the drinks over to you. Hotch grabs JJ’s drink and walks it over to her. Emily sends you a suggestive look from across the room. You flip her off and turn to the bartender.
“Please add these to Emily Prentiss’ tab. That’s P-R-E-N-T-I-S-S.” You say, and the bartender laughs.
“No problem, um-” He says. You smile.
“(Y/N).” You say, filling in his blank.
“Well, nice to meet you, (Y/N).” He says before being flagged down by another customer.
You turn around with your water and Hotch’s beer, only to bump right into the older man.
“Jesus fuck!” You exclaim as ice water stings your hand. Hotch laughs, a deep rumbling sound that completely entrances you.
“Sorry.” He says, freeing up one of your hands by taking his beer.
“I hope you like that kind. I’m not much of a beer drinker.” You say, trying for a smooth recovery. Hotch nods appreciatively.
“This is perfect,” He says, and you unclench slightly, “could we talk outside? It’s a bit loud in here.”
You nod, and he guides you out of the bar with his hand on your elbow. The crisp evening air takes some over the edge off. Hotch leans against the brick wall and you do the same. You’re only illuminated by the purple neon “open” sign hanging over you.
“I wanted to apologize.” Hotch blurts out, taking you by surprise. You tilt your head to the side, asking a silent question. Hotch almost dies on the spot.
“I- I’ve acted inappropriately towards you, and for that I apologize. I value your expertise and think you’re an invaluable member of this team. I never intended to make you uncomfortable.” He says in a rush, throwing you completely off guard. It takes you a moment to remember how to talk, but when you do all that comes out is-
“What are you talking about?”
Hotch runs a hand through his hair and smiles, but it looks painful.
“Please, (Y/N), don’t make me say it.”
“Say what?” You ask, completely bewildered.
“That I have feelings for you.”
And then you wake up.
Well, this is the part where you should wake up, but you’re still here, outside with Hotch. Hotch. Aaron Hotchner. Who likes you.
“What?” You said, not trusting yourself to say anything else. Hotch smiles again, resigned.
“Please. You must’ve noticed. I haven’t been exactly inconspicuous. And again, I’m sorry. It must make you very uncomfortable for someone more advanced than you in both age and position to be so blatant in their feelings for you.”
“What is happening?” You whisper, mostly to yourself. “You- you like me?” You ask as if he hasn’t made it obvious enough. Hotch actually has the audacity to look ashamed as he nods. After you’ve had a moment to process, you can’t help the world-stopping, blinding smile that graces your face. You tentatively reach for his hand. Hotch looks up at you in disbelief as you entwine your fingers with him.
“(Y/N)?” He asks carefully, not fully trusting the scene unfolding before him.
“I had no idea,” You say, feeling elated, “I always thought I was the one being obvious about my feelings.”
Hotch jerks his hand away, and your face falls.
“But- you shouldn’t have any feelings. Not for me.” He says, his face turning stony before your eyes.
“Why not?”
“Because, (Y/N)! I’m too old for you. I can’t give you what I want. You deserve to be with someone your age, someone who can give you all of his time.” He says, taking a step away from you. You take another step towards him.
“Hey, no. Is your name Aaron Hotchner?” You ask, pulling him towards you.
“What? Yes.” He says, clearly confused. You slowly and gently take his face in your hands, bringing his forehead down to yours.
“Then you are what I want, Aaron.” You whisper, the name tasting sweet in your mouth. Hotch practically melts, pulling you into a hug by your waist. You wrap your arms around his neck and revel in the warmth of his body and fast beat of his heart.
“(Y/N), my darling girl,” He says softly, pulling back slightly. “Can I kiss you?” He asks. You nod eagerly, and he pulls you to him. He kisses the way he loves, carefully yet passionately. When you pull away you feel like a new woman, and you wrap your arms around him once again.
“You are amazing.” He says, his words warming you even more than his touch. You kiss him again.
“Let’s go home, Aaron.” You say. And you do.
Falling For The Coach
Tumblr media
Intro: Hello, lovelies!! I hope you guys are having a good day/night!! I literally just wrote two over 7k fics in three days, oops?(Also, thank you to my girlfriend @x-danvers-x for helping me decide who to write this for ❤) Enjoy~
Note: Y/N is a single mother, she’s looking for a fresh start with her daughter Skye, a chance, well multiple chance run-in’s with the one and only Carol Danvers makes her question some things. Will sparks fly?
Word Count: 8k(New record!)
“Skye, come on” you told your daughter, walking with her towards the grocery store and grabbing a cart on your way in, picking her up and setting her in the cart, her only being four so she still enjoyed riding in the car, plus it was easier than letting her walk since she liked to wander when your back was turned “What all do we need?” You asked, looking at her as you set your small purse beside her “Cookies!” She declared, kicking her feet while you chuckled “We’ll see, okay?” You told her, ruffling her hair and pressing a kiss to her head before you pushed the cart down the produce section.
As you were looking at the cans of beans, you weren’t really watching where you were going until you suddenly ran into something, well someone “I am so sorry” you immediately apologized, looking at the woman who just smiled at you “It’s no problem, I shouldn’t of been standing in the middle of the aisle… And who are you?” She asked, turning to your daughter who grinned at the woman “Skye” she said, looking at the woman “Nice to meet you, I’m Carol… How old are you, Skye?” Carol asked, looking at her and watching as she held up three fingers but said “Four!” you not able to stop the smile forming on your face as you watched their interaction.
“And who might you be?” Carol asked, giving you a gentle smile and you blinking for a moment before you realized she was talking to you “Oh, Y/N… We just moved here about a month ago” you said, holding your hand out and shaking Carol’s hand “That would be why we haven’t met yet” she said, smiling at you and checking her phone when it vibrated “I have to get going, but it was nice to meet you both… Hopefully I’ll see you around?” She asked, looking at you and giving you a hopeful look.
Nodding, you watched as Carol’s smile grew before she said a goodbye to Skye and headed towards the checkout, you not able to keep your eyes off of her as she walked down the aisle, not knowing why but you were drawn towards her “Mommy?” Skye asked, interrupting your thoughts and making you turn your attention to her “Yes, sweetheart?” You asked, looking at her “Cookies?” She asked, making you laugh and shake your head “Cookies”.
~~~~~
A few days later, you were working on getting your porch set up, you having gotten some chairs and a table for it from your parents “Dammit” you muttered when you accidentally dropped a chair trying to carry three from the back of your SUV, turning around when you heard a car pull up and smiled when you saw it was your brother, James “Hey James” you said, watching as he came over and grabbed the dropped chair before he helped you carry everything to the porch “How are you, little sis?” He asked, setting the chair down on the porch and looking around “Where’s squirt?” he asked, not seeing Skye anywhere.
“She’s napping, I decided to try to get some decorating done before she woke up and I’m okay” you said, knowing he had been worried about you since your ex left you when Skye was one “Need some help?” He asked, him not going to push the topic of how you were since he knew it was a rough topic for you “You would help even if I said no” you chuckled, heading back to your car and grabbing the last chair while James grabbed the table “You know me too well” he teased, setting the table down on the porch and looking at the screen door to your house when he heard a small voice call his name before small footsteps quickly ran towards him, Skye opening the screen door before jumping into James arms.
“Uncle James!” She squealed, hugging him as tight as her little arms could hug him while he laughed and picked her up “Hey squirt, have a nice nap?” He asked, looking at her when she pulled back and nodded “Are you staying for dinner?” She asked, looking at him with hopeful eyes as he looked at you “Up to you” you chuckled, looking at him and smiling at the two of them “Looks like I am” he said, poking her stomach and making her giggle “Let James help me finish up here then he can play with you, alright? Why don’t you go play with your toys?” You asked, looking at Skye who nodded and gave James one last hug before he set her down and she headed back inside.
James waited until he saw her go into her room before he looked at you “How are you guys settling in?” He asked, helping you move the furniture where you wanted them “I think we’re doing okay, Skye wants to play t-ball, so I signed her up for the little league here” you said, giving him a small smile “And the job hunt?” He asked, knowing you had been struggling “Nothing yet, I’ll probably try the diner down the road for now” you said, knowing it wasn’t much but it’d give you an income since you only had so much left in your savings “Y/N-“ “Don’t, I don’t want to talk about it” you said, knowing what he was going to ask but you didn’t want to talk about it “Okay” he said, going back to helping you put everything where you wanted it.
~~~~~
The next morning, you woke up and went into the kitchen after you got ready for the day, seeing James sitting at the table with a cup of coffee “There’s more if you want it” he said, looking at you and you smiled gratefully at him before pouring yourself a cup, joining him at the table and taking a sip of it, sighing some before you looked at him “Mind watching Skye for a bit while I head up to that diner?” You asked, wanting to try and get a job as soon as possible.
James nodded and smiled “Of course, I don’t have to head back for New York for another few hours” he said, him having come to check up on you in Louisiana to make sure you and Skye were okay “Thank you” you said, taking another drink of your coffee and leaning back in your chair “How are you and Taylor?” You asked, looking at him and watching as he squirmed in his seat a bit which made you raise an eyebrow.
“We’re good, great actually… I’m thinking of proposing soon” he admitted, causing you to gasp and grab his hand “Seriously?” You asked, looking at him and grinning at him when he nodded “If she says yes, you know Skye is going to be on your ass to be flower girl” you said, watching as he laughed and nodded “There’s no one else I’d rather have” he said, giving your hand a small squeeze as you finished your coffee and sighed “I should go to the diner, call me if you need me” you said, standing up and kissing his cheek before you went to pull your shoes on “We’ll be fine, don’t you worry” he assured, looking at you and watching as you nodded before you headed out, grabbing your keys on the way out.
~~~~~
Getting to the diner, you looked around a bit before the waitress caught your attention “Anything I can do for you, sweetheart?” The kind African American woman asked from behind the counter, you nodding and heading over to the counter “I was hoping to see if you guys were hiring” you said, standing in front of the counter and giving her a small smile “My daughter and I just moved here a month ago and finding a job-“ Is rough around here” she finished for you, seeming to understand and looking you over a bit “Have you ever waitressed before?” She asked, setting the rag in her hand down on the counter as she rummaged for some paper behind the counter.
“When I was in high school, but it should come back to me pretty quickly” you said, knowing you hadn’t been a waitress since you finished high school three years ago “It’s like riding a bike… Fill this out and I’ll give it to boss man, he should call you in a few days” she said, handing you the paper and a pen from her apron “Thank you… Rhonda” you said, reading her nametag and watching as her smile grew a small bit “My pleasure” she said before going to help a customer that had just come in.
Once you finished the paper, you set it on the counter along with the pen, waiting until Rhonda turned your direction and gesturing to where you had set the paper and pen “Have a good day now!” She called, giving you a smile as you nodded and thanked her once more before heading out, sighing as you got into your car and leaned back in your seat, looking at your phone when it vibrated in your pocket and sighing when you saw ‘Mom’ flash across the screen, ignoring it before pocketing your phone once more and starting your car up, deciding to look around town for a bit before you went back home since it had been a while since James got to spend time with Skye, so you knew they probably wanted to spend some time together.
~~~~~
After a bit of mindless driving, you found yourself at the local greenhouse Might as well find something to bring color to the house you thought to yourself, getting out of your car and heading inside, looking at all the succulents that were placed at the front and not paying attention to where you were going until you bumped into someone “We have got to stop meeting like this” Carol teased, holding a bag of fertilizer and smiling at you “We really do” you said, giving a small laugh and smiling at her.
“What brings you here?” She asked, readjusting the bag and gesturing for you to keep walking “Well, I just kinda found myself here, my brother’s watching Skye so I’m free for a bit and I want something that’ll bring some color to my home” you told her, looking at her and watching her nod “What about you?” You asked, watching as she shrugged “I just like to come and carry the fertilizer, it’s a great workout, you should try it sometime” she joked, causing you to laugh which made her smile since that was her goal “No, I’m here helping-“ “Aunt Carol!” A girl not much older than Skye shouted, running up to Carol, who smiled at her “What’s going on, Lieutenant Trouble?” She asked, looking at the little girl.
“Mom said she needs your help” she said, looking up at Carol who nodded before giving you a guilty look “Duty calls, I’ll see you around though, yeah?” She asked, waiting until you nodded before she told you goodbye then followed the little girl to a gorgeous looking woman and you couldn’t help but feel your heart sink when you saw them together, but you weren’t sure why, you didn’t swing that way… Did you? Shaking the thought away, you went back to looking for flowers and ended up walking out with a few purple hanging baskets along with some roses that would go perfectly in front of your house, looking over when you heard a laugh and saw Carol laughing as she helped the other woman and the little girl load their haul into the back of a truck before you got into your car and drove back home.
~~~~~
A few days later, you were trying your best to plant the roses you had gotten, managing to prick yourself more than anything as you did, looking up when Skye ran out holding her outfit and in her underwear “Mommy mommy! It’s almost time for practice!” She said excitedly, you laughing and standing up, dusting yourself off “Go back inside and I’ll help you change” you said, watching as she nodded before quickly running back inside, not worried of anyone seeing your practically naked daughter since your neighbors were far enough away that no one would see anything.
Washing yourself off a bit before you helped her change into her t-ball outfit before getting her drink and snacks and taking her to the car “Excited about your first practice?” You asked, Rhonda being kind enough to take your shift for the day so you could attend the first practice “Yeah!” Skye said excitedly, bouncing in her seat some as you drove to the park, smiling at her in the rear-view mirror before you focused on the road in front of you.
When you guys got there, you barely got two words out of your mouth before your daughter had unbuckled herself and got out of the car, running towards the group of kids by the small softball field while you told her to slow down, but it fell on deaf ears “Someone’s excited” you heard someone say as you grabbed Skye’s bag from the backseat, turning around and seeing the woman and little girl you saw Carol with a few days ago “Oh yeah, this is the first time she gets to meet kids her own age here” you smiled, closing your back door and locking your car before walking with the woman, the little girl having taken off while you were talking.
“You guys just move here?” The woman asked, looking at you as the two of you walked towards the field “Yeah, just over a month ago” you said, giving her a small smile before you held your hand out “Y/N Y/L/N” you introduced, shaking her hand when she took yours “Maria Rambeau” she said, giving you a smile then gesturing to her daughter who was talking enthusiastically with yours “My daughter’s Monica” she said, setting the bag in her hand down by the benches before you both sat down “Mine is Skye” you said, giving her a smile as you sat down beside her, the two of you falling into conversation until you heard a whistle and a voice “Alright everyone, gather around!” The woman shouted, you turning your head and seeing Carol standing there “My name’s Coach Danvers, I will be coaching you guys this summer!” She said loud enough for everyone to hear “Let’s get started!”.
When the practice ended, Skye and Monica ran up to you and Maria “Mommy, can we stay here so I can play with Monica?” Skye asked, Monica asking Maria the same and you laughed but nodded “Sure honey, just get a drink and eat something first” you said, knowing the practice probably took a lot out of her and watching as she grabbed a juice and a package of snack sticks before Carol walked up to the two of you “I see you two have finally met” Carol said, smiling at you two and watching as the girls finished their snacks before running over to the playground “Yes, it’s nice to put a face to a name, Carol hasn’t shut up about you” Maria said, earning a kick to the shin to which she returned and you couldn’t help but duck your head slightly “Oh?” You asked, looking at Carol who seemed to be blushing “Ignore her” she said, clearing her throat and looking at you “But, I have to get back to work” “What do you do?” You asked, looking at her and knowing she looked very fit “Pilot for the Air Force” she said with a grin, checking the time once more “I really have to go, but can I get your number? For emergency reasons” she added quickly, handing you her phone when you nodded “Of course, emergency reasons” you said, watching as a grin threatened to appear on her face when you gave her the phone back before she said her goodbyes and headed off.
“How long have you two known each other?” You asked, looking at Maria after Carol vanished in her car “We met in our early training days for the Air Force, been best friends ever since” Maria said, looking at you and then looking over at the girls when she heard them laugh “So you guys are really close” you said, looking at her and watching her nod before she looked at you and snorted “If you think me and Carol are together, we’re not, she’s living with me until she’s able to get a place of her own, she moved around a lot and hasn’t had much time to focus on permanent” she said, you now feeling embarrassed by assuming “I see” you said, the two of you going silent for a bit before Maria changed the topic, pulling you guys into a less tense conversation.
~~~~~~
The next day, you came in for your shift at the diner and had Skye sit in her usual seat “Morning, Rhonda” you said, setting your stuff in the back before putting on your apron “Morning, sweetheart” Rhonda said, giving you a smile as she passed by with a plate of chocolate chip pancakes and a chocolate milk “Good morning, sweetpea” she said, smiling at Skye who smiled back as Rhonda set the plate and milk down in front of her “Good morning, Miss Rhonda” Skye said, setting her crayon down and grabbing the fork Rhonda handed her “Honey, what do you say?” You asked as you grabbed the coffee pot “Thank you” Skye told Rhonda through a mouthful of pancakes “You are very welcome” she said, giving her a smile before she went to get ready to leave.
“You okay to hold down the fort for a few hours? I have to take my son to practice” Rhonda said, looking at you and you nodded “Of course, I don’t mind… how much do I owe for the pancakes?” You asked, looking at her and sighing when she shook her head “George says it’s on the house” she said, giving you a wink before she headed out, you mouthing a thank you to George who smiled at you from the little window before you went to take customer’s orders.
Rushing over to the little window, you grabbed the next set of orders when you heard the door chime “Have a seat wherever, I’ll be with you shortly!” You said, going and setting the plates in front of the customers “Need anything else?” You asked, smiling when they shook their heads “Let me know if you need anything, enjoy” you said before turning and trying to locate who had just walked in, locking your eyes on the blonde now sitting by your daughter and watching as she colored, noting how she looked dead on her feet but still gave her full attention to Skye.
Going over to the counter, you grabbed a mug and the coffee pot before you headed over to the table, setting the mug in front of Carol and catching her attention when you poured the coffee into the mug “You look like you need it” you said when she raised an eyebrow at you “Thank you” Carol said before taking a sip and sighing gratefully “Long night?” You asked, setting the coffee pot on the table and pulling out your pen and pad “The longest… Can I just get a burger and some fries? Chicken nuggets for the kid” she said, nodding her head towards Skye “You don’t-“ “I want to” she interrupted you, giving you a smile which you returned before writing it all down “It’ll be up shortly” you promised, grabbing the coffee pot before returning to the counter.
“That is a very pretty picture” Carol said once you were out of earshot and focused on work once more, watching as Skye doodled what looked like a house and two people “It’s me and my mommy at our house” Skye said, glancing at Carol then setting her crayon down so she could get a drink of her water “Do you like my mommy?” Skye asked, shocking Carol at the very abrupt question “Well, yes she’s a good friend” she said, looking at her and watching as she shook her head “No like like” she said again, looking at Carol before turning back to her paper “Because she really likes you” she said, focusing back on her drawing while Carol looked over at you as you ran back and forth from the counter to the table “Does she now…”
~~~~~
Later that afternoon, you were cleaning up after your shift, Sherly coming in any minute to relieve you, Carol having left after she finished eating to go take a nap and you having moved Skye to the back who had konked out not long ago for a nap herself “Hey, sorry I’m late” Sherly said when she rushed in, you giving her a small smile “It’s alright, I don’t mind” you said, finishing cleaning up the counter before you went to the back, taking your apron off and stuffing whatever tips you had in your purse before clocking out “Can you watch her for a second?” You asked George, who was getting ready to leave himself, you having too many things to be able to carry her and your stuff “Sure” he said, giving you a smile and just slowing down getting ready to go so he wasn’t just standing there.
Going out to the car, you loaded the back with some of the stuff that Rhonda had brought you “To spruce your house up a bit” she had told you and who were you to say no to her? “Need some help?” You heard someone ask you, causing you to turn around and seeing Carol standing there with her hands in her pockets, looking much more rested than she did earlier “Can you load this while I get Skye?” You asked, not going to turn down help, especially if it got you home faster so you could put Skye down for a proper nap “Sure” she said, loading the boxes into the car while you went back inside.
After a bit, you came back out carrying a sleeping Skye who was wrapped in your jacket, Carol opened the backseat for you and watched as you hooked Skye into her carseat before moving so Carol could shut the door “Thank you” you said, crossing your arms and trying to not shiver since it got cold at night “Of course… Here” Carol said, pulling her jacket off before wrapping it around you and ignoring your protests “You look cute in that” she commented, smiling at you as you felt your face burn at the compliment and looking at her with a nervous smile “Would you like to go to dinner with me this weekend?” She asked, shocking you and you jaw dropped, you watching as she quickly averted her gaze “Sorry, I thought-“ “Yes” you said when your voice returned, looking at her and watching as she smiled “Saturday?” She asked, watching you nod “It’s a date, I’ll text you my address… James will be in town, so he can watch Skye” you said, knowing he had made it a point to come see you more “See you then… Have a good night, Y/N” she said, giving you a smile as she opened your door for you and shut it once you got situated “You too, Carol” you said before she shut the door, watching her wave before she retreated to her car “Lets get home” you said before starting your car and pulling out of the parking lot.
~~~~~
By the time Saturday night rolled around, you were running around your small house like a chicken with its head cut off, only stopping when you heard Skye speak up “Why’s mommy running around like that?” She asked, causing your brother to laugh “She’s stressed out, it’s just a date, Y/N/N” James said, watching as you looked at them and took a deep breath “I know… I’m just… Nervous, I’ve never gone out with a girl before” you said, looking at him and hearing James sigh “I’m sure it’s not much different than any other date” he said, watching as you went into the bathroom to finish your makeup, not putting on too much but enough to not look terrible, tensing when you heard the doorbell ring “I got it!” Skye called, you hearing her little feet run towards the door “Walk, Skye!” You scolded before taking one last look at yourself in the mirror, you in comfortable yet nice jeans and a nice shirt since she had told you to dress casually.
“Hey squirt” you heard Carol say, hearing Skye squeal as Carol picked her up in a hug “Where’s your mom?” “In the bathroom” Skye said, looking at Carol and her looking over just as you stepped out of the bathroom “Hey” you said, seeing her in some nice jeans and a shirt that fit her just right, showing her off in all the right places “Hey” she said, smiling at you as she set Skye down “Oh, Carol this is my brother James, James this is Carol” you introduced, watching as they shook hands and greeted each other “Now, you two out, Skye and I have big plans” James said, scooping Skye up and hearing her giggle as he held her “Big plans, huh?” You asked, quirking an eyebrow as you put your phone in your purse along with your wallet “Huge” he said, giving you a wink then looking at Carol “Treat her right and have her home by ten” “James” you said, rolling your eyes as you smacked his arm “Fine, 10:30!” He called before you shut the door behind you.
“You look… Really good by the way” Carol said, walking you out to her truck that you had seen the day at the greenhouse “You don’t look too bad yourself” you said, nudging her gently with your shoulder and smiling at her when she opened the door open for you again “Thank you” you said, getting into the truck and buckling up when she shut the door “So, gonna tell me where we’re going?” You asked, looking at her and pouting when she shook her head “Nope, it’s a surprise” she said, starting the truck and resting her arm on the back of the front seat since it was just one seat, carefully backing out of your driveway and driving down the road.
~~~~~
When you guys pulled up to the small bar, you raised an eyebrow at her “Trust me, you’ll have fun” she promised, getting out of the truck and rushing to the other side, opening the door for you before you could even touch the handle and offering you her hand which you took, her helping you down before shutting the door but not releasing your hand as she walked with you up to the bar.
Getting inside, you saw that the bar wasn’t as bad as you thought it’d be and it wasn’t as crowded as it seemed, but you still kept ahold of Carol’s hand as the two of you walked up to the bar “What’ll you have?” She asked, smiling at you and you looked at what they had to offer before looking at her “Uh a Y/F/D” you said, watching her smile and nod before ordering your drinks “So tell me, where did you live before here?” Carol asked, looking at you after she got the drinks ordered “New York, I finished college last year and I just needed a change of scenery” you said, looking at her and watching her nod “Mind if I ask why?” She asked, looking at you and placing a hand on your leg when you looked conflicted “You don’t have to tell me if you’re not ready” she said, giving your leg a small squeeze as you gave her a small smile “Thank you” you said, saying it once more when the bartender gave you your drinks.
“So, Air Force, huh?” You asked, taking a sip of your drink and watching as she smiled “Yup! Although, this is my last year, I love flying and protecting the country, but I’d like to be in one spot longer than a few weeks” she said, looking at you and you nodded in understanding “What are you going to do when you’re out?” You asked, resting against the bar top “Work with Maria on planes, she has her own shop, works on planes, cars, pretty much any vehicle she works on” she said, laughing some and you smiled at her “Sounds like you’re pretty settled” you said, resting your hand on hers that was still on your leg “Somewhat, but I’m getting there” she said, giving your leg a squeeze before smiling at you “Finish that drink, I want to dance”.
~~~~~
After a long night of dancing, singing, and drinking, you and Carol decided to take a short drive to a cliff to stargaze, getting there, Carol shut her truck off and reached behind the seat, grabbing a blanket that was stuffed back there “A lot of late nights” she said when you raised an eyebrow, the two of you getting out of the truck and Carol lowering the back before she climbed up and laid the blanket out before she offered you a hand and pulled you up as well, the two of you laying down on the blanket and staring up at the sky.
After a moment, Carol wrapped an arm around you and pulled you closer to her “You were shivering” she said when you looked at her, her looking at you when you didn’t stop looking at her “Do I have something on my face?” She asked, raising a brow before you pressed your lips to hers, relishing in the gasp she let out since she wasn’t expecting it but she quickly returned the kiss, it quickly becoming more and more heated until Carol rolled over on top of you, her pulling back to look at you “Are you sure about this?” She asked, wanting to make sure before she did anything “Yes” you breathed, reaching up and pulling her back down by the back of her neck and capturing her lips once more as she started to strip you down, the cold no longer bothering you the farther you guys went.
~~~~~
Getting back to your house a few hours later, Carol walked you up to the door and rested a hand on your back as you unlocked the front door before you turned to face her “Thank you for the amazing night” you said, smiling at her as she returned it and wrapped her arms loosely around your waist, pulling you close “Thank you for agreeing to join me” she said, leaning in and pressing a gentle kiss to your lips which you returned “Text me when you get home?” You asked, smiling when she nodded and unwillingly released you “Of course, goodnight, Y/N” she said, smiling at you as you opened the front door “Goodnight Carol… Drive safe” you said, making sure she made it back to her truck before you closed the front door.
Quietly, you pulled off your shoes and tried to quietly make your way to your room when the lamp in the living room turned on and James looked at you with a smirk “Dammit James, were you trying to give me a heart attack?” You asked, placing a hand on your chest as you let out a sigh “No, but it seemed you and Carol got along… Quite well” he said, taking in your disheveled appearance “Shut up” you said, throwing one of your shoes at him while he laughed and caught the shoe “Violence” he chuckled, looking at you as you rolled your eyes and set your purse on the table before you locked the front door again.
“How was Skye? Did she give you much trouble?” You asked him, going and sitting down next to him on the couch “She was good, we watched some movies” he said, looking at you and sighing “I’m glad you’re finally moving on, you look… Happy” he said, looking at you and giving you a small smile which you returned “I am… Now, we should get some sleep, Skye has her first game tomorrow afternoon” you said, patting his leg before you stood up “Oh I know, she told me allllll about it” he chuckled, stretching some before he laid back down on the couch “Goodnight, Y/N/N” “Goodnight, James” you said before escaping to your bedroom.
~~~~~
The following afternoon, you were helping Skye get ready for the game while James packed up the drinks and snacks into a small cooler “Ready?” You asked, putting the hat on Skye’s head and watching her give an enthusiastic nod before you followed her out of her room “Hurry, Uncle James! I don’t wanna be late!” She shouted, looking at James who laughed as he closed the cooler “I’m hurrying” he assured, looking at her then pulling his phone out of his pocket “I need to take this, I’ll meet you in the car” he said, looking at you and you nodded before you grabbed the cooler, taking Skye out to the car and putting the cooler in the back before helping her get situated in her seat.
“Everything okay?” You asked, looking at James who looked solemn as he walked back and him glancing at Skye “Okay” you said, knowing he’d tell you wants she was out of earshot and starting up the car once he was situated “Lets go, mommy!” Skye said, looking out the window as you backed out of the driveway “I’m going I’m going” you chuckled, shaking your head as you drove towards the park.
When you guys got there, you handed Skye her bag since you knew she was going to take off towards the field with or without you, so it was better to have her ready “Have you talked to mom recently?” James asked, looking at you once Skye was far enough away “No, I feel like she’s still upset with my choice” you said, looking at him and watching him nod “Why? What’s wrong?” You asked, thinking it was something to do with your mother “She was at the doctors the other day… It’s cancer” he said softly, looking at you and seeing all the emotions pass across your face before you collapsed, James wrapping his arms around you at the last possible moment and pulling you to him, telling you how it was going to be alright.
Carol smiled when she saw Skye run up to the rest of the team “Looking good, Skye!” She said, smiling at her then looking around at the benches “Where’s your mom at?” She asked, looking at her and Skye glanced at her as she made her way towards Monica “Car” she said, going over to Monica as Carol looked over towards where you were, seeing you collapse “Watch them” she told Maria before she ran off to where you were with James.
“What happened?” Carol asked, sounding a little breathless since she had ran the whole way up and placing a hand on your shoulder, fearing something was wrong with you physically and when she realized you were practically sobbing, she looked at James who carefully handed you over to her “We just got some news about our mom… She has cancer… Terminal” he said, tearing up himself and hearing you let out another sob to which Carol held onto you a little tighter “I’m so sorry, baby” she said softly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head and glancing back at the field when Maria called her name “I got her” James promised, looking at Carol who nodded and gave you another squeeze and kiss to the head before passing you back to James, really not wanting to leave you like this but she had a team to coach.
About halfway through the game, you and James finally sat down to watch, your eyes red and your nose stuffy, but you didn’t care as you watched Skye hit the ball “Go, baby! Go!” You shouted, not feeling 100% yourself but you weren’t going to let that stop you from cheering on your daughter, watching as Carol, who was at first base, offered her hand out for a high five which Skye happily gave “She’s a good one” James said, looking at you and nodding towards Carol when you raised an eyebrow, smiling a little bit and nodding “She is” you agreed, waving at Carol when she met your eyes, her waving back and glad that you were feeling a bit better.
~~~~~
Later that night, you had told Skye the best way you could about her grandmother being sick and you had even called her and let Skye talk with her for a while “Yeah mom, we’re okay… Love you too” you said before hanging up, looking over at the couch where Carol and Skye were watching some Disney movie Skye had chosen, hanging up before coming in with a bowl of popcorn “Mommy?” “Yes sweetheart?” You asked, handing Carol the bowl of popcorn since she was in the middle “Do you and Carol like each other?” She asked, taking a small handful of popcorn and stuffing most of it into her mouth, the rest falling into her lap “We do, is that okay?” You asked, looking at Carol before looking at Skye who nodded enthusiastically “I have another mommy!” She said excitedly, causing you to choke on the popcorn you had just put in your mouth while Carol laughed and wrapped an arm around you when your coughing stopped “You do” she said before you could say anything else.
Once the movie was over, you stretched and looked over, seeing that Skye had fallen asleep with her feet in Carol’s lap and you stood up, going to pick her up when Carol stopped you “I got her” she promised, gently lifting her feet off her lap before she stood up and carefully picked her up “Pick out a good one for us” she said, leaning over and kissing you gently before she escaped back to Skye’s room, you sitting down and scrolling through Netflix to choose a movie, looking at your phone when it vibrated, it being a text from your ex
I want to see you – Scott
You sighed as you stared at your phone, debating on it you should answer him or not “Everything okay?” Carol asked, causing you to jump and quickly lock your phone before you set it on the coffee table “Yeah! Mom just messaged me” you said, waving the question off as Carol sat down beside you again and pulled you towards her once more “If you’re sure” Carol said, pressing a kiss to your head as you snuggled against her “Did you mean what you said?” You asked softly, looking at her and watching her furrow her brows “What you told Skye, about the two mom’s thing… You know she took that seriously” you said, looking at her and you watched as Carol sat up some and looked at you “Of course I did, even if we don’t work out, I want to be in Skye’s life” she said, her loving Skye already and knowing she should’ve talked to you about it first, but she really felt that way towards Skye.
“Okay” you said after a beat, snuggling back against her before opting for laying your head in her lap and closing your eyes when she ran her fingers gently through your hair “You asked me on our date the other day why we moved here” you said, keeping your eyes closed as Carol just hummed but you felt her eyes on you “My ex… Scott, he left me when Skye was one and I was still struggling to get through school… I pushed through the remainder of school and got my diploma, but I couldn’t live there anymore after working in New York for a year, everything reminded me of him and I needed to get away” you said, opening your eyes when you felt Carol’s hand still on your head.
After a moment, Carol looked down at you and laced her fingers with yours “I’m so sorry that happened, know that I will be here as long as you’ll have me” she said, looking at you and leaning down, capturing your lips with hers “And I’ll be here as long as you’ll have me” you whispered, pulling her back down again before smiling as she sat back up and the two of you went back to watching the movie, you falling asleep to he fingers threading gently through your hair.
~~~~~
About a month later, you were getting ready for Skye’s last t-ball game of the summer when you heard a knock at the door “Carol, you know you don’t have to knock-Scott” you said, freezing when you saw him standing there “Who’s Carol?” He asked, looking at you with an eyebrow raised and you about to say something when Skye came into the room “Daddy?” She asked, looking at him and watching as he smiled at her “Hey sweetheart” he said, kneeling down and holding his arms out, only for him to drop them when she hid behind you “What are you doing here, Scott?” You asked, looking at him as he stood up and resting a hand on Skye’s head.
“I wanted to see you, to talk to you” Scott said, stepping inside before you could do anything “I want to be a family again” he said, taking a step closer to you and you took a step back “You lost that chance when you walked out on us or did you forget about that?” You snapped, glaring at him and wishing you would’ve told Carol to come here before the game like she had wanted to “We have to go” you said, going to walk past him when he grabbed your arm rather harshly “No, we are talking!” He shouted, tightening his grip on you when you tried to fight him and looking at the table when your phone vibrated since you guys were now late for the game, having been running late in the first place.
You looked at Skye and nodded your head to the phone “No, don’t you dare” Scott said, pointing a finger at her and you looked at him “If no one answers that phone then they will come looking” you said, looking at him and watching as he debated before he walked over and grabbed the phone, handing it to you “Answer it” he said, shoving it into your hand and you saw it was Carol “Hey” you answered, knowing you had to do something to let her know something was off “Where are you guys?” Carol asked, the game starting in a few minutes and you guys were never late, at least not with a call ahead of time first “Something came up, we have to head out and help Maria with something” you said, hoping she understood your meaning “What? Oh, okay that’s fine, we’ll be alright, hope it goes well” she said, the two of you saying your goodbyes before you hung up.
~~~~~
“Maria, I need you to take charge for a bit” Carol said, looking at her and not giving her much of an explanation before she rushed to her car and peeled out of the parking lot “Come on come on” she muttered, tapping her fingers on the steering wheel “Please be okay, please be okay” she said, you and Skye having been through a lot in the past two weeks alone, first your mother’s death and now whatever this was.
After a bit, she pulled into your driveway and saw a vehicle she had never seen before, her making her way around the house and peeking through Skye’s window, seeing Skye sitting on her bed so she gently knocked on the window and gestured for Skye to open it, her carefully climbing inside and pulling Skye to her “Daddy has mommy” she said softly, burying her face in Carol’s chest and Carol giving her a squeeze before she handed her her phone “You know how to call 911, right?” She asked, looking at her and smiling when she nodded before Carol carefully helped her out the window “You call and stay right there, okay?” She said, looking at her and watching her nod before Carol poked her head out into the hallway, seeing you sitting at a table with a man she didn’t know.
“We’re fine here, we have a new life here, we’re better off without you” you said, standing abruptly only for him to grab your already bruising wrist once more and forcing you back down “We’re a family, Y/N” he said, looking at you and his head snapping in Carol’s direction when she spoke up “Some shitty family member you are, let her go” she said, looking at him and glancing at you when he fully turned towards her “Carol…” You said softly, looking at her and wincing when Scott tightened his grip on you “This your new bitch?” He asked, looking at you and forcing you to look at him when you didn’t say anything “She’s not a bitch, she’s my girlfriend and treats me better than you ever did!” You snapped, letting out a gasp when he slapped you and shoved you back, you immediately holding your face where he had just slapped you.
Carol growled when she saw him slap you but she couldn’t do anything, not without risking your safety with it “Touch her again and see what happens” she said, glaring at him and watching as he just laughed “What are you going to do about it?” He asked, stepping up to her and shoving her, only for her to grab his arm and force it painfully behind his back, kicking the back of his legs and effectively knocking him to the ground, slamming his head down against the hardwood floor and knocking him out “That” she breathed, making sure he was out before she rushed to you.
“Are you okay?” She asked, cupping your face gently before pulling you into a hug after you nodded “Never again am I leaving you two out of my sight” she said, kissing your head and just holding onto you “I love you” she admitted, that making you pull back with a look of shock on your face before you smiled and cupped her face “I love you too” you said, pulling her in for a kiss just as sirens rang in the distance.
~~~~~
A few weeks later, you looked up when the door opened and Carol walked in with some bags of groceries, her having moved in a few days after the incident “You are a lifesaver” you said, you having run out of some ingredients for the bbq “Of course I am” she chuckled, holding the bag out of your reach until you kissed her “Where’s squirt?” She asked, taking a carrot off the veggie tray and biting into it “Outside with Monica while Maria, James, Rhonda, and George talk at the table” you said, pulling the bbq sauce out “We need a bigger table” Carol chuckled, smiling at you as she watched you get the last bit ready “We do, but for now, help me carry this outside? We have hungry people” you said, giving her a smile as you guys carried the remainder of the food outside, you all falling into conversation as you all got your food and got comfortable, you glad that you had found yourself a nice little family in this small town.
This was the third fight you’ve had with your twelve year old daughter this week. You had only asked her to help you with the dishes, yet she blew up on you like you had asked her to help you murder somebody. “I mean, for fucks sake! Why is she being so mean lately? She’s never been like this before.” You sighed in frustration.
“I don’t know, baby. Maybe she’s just going through something at school.” Your boyfriend suggested, shrugging at you softly while he folded the laundry beside you. “I think you should just ask her— talk to her, you know? I think it’ll help.”
Taking up Jinyoung’s advice, you called your daughter into your son’s bedroom to talk. You sat in the rocking chair in the corner while you breastfed your son, rolling your eyes jokingly when your daughter covered her eyes with a groan. “Mom! Come onnnn.”
“Oh hush and get in here,” You laughed. “We need to talk.”
She obeyed, shutting the door behind her and sitting on the floor in silence. She grabbed one of her brother’s toys to play with nervously, listening to you as you began. “Are you okay, honey? Because lately you’ve been acting really weird and Jinyoung and I are worried about you.”
You frowned at the eyeroll she did when you mentioned your boyfriend, gulping down your obvious hurt. “I’m fine,” She sighed. “Can we just talk about this later? This is.. weird.”
“What’s weird?” You furrowed your eyebrows.
“Your boobs are out, mom.” She deadpanned, making you laugh. You rolled your eyes at her, tapping her slightly with your foot, earning a small smile from her.
“This is natural. You should be happy your brother is healthy and getting all of his nutrients,” You joked. Your daughter giggled a little before shrugging and dropping her smile. You sighed. “Alright, kiddo. Talk to me. What’s on your mind?”
She sighed and threw her head back, allowing it to softly hit the crib behind her. “It’s hard to explain. You wouldn’t understand.” She mumbled, making you frown.
“Well I can try.” You tried softly. She shook her head and tossed the toy across the room, going to stand up. “Baby, come back here. Just talk to me!” You called after her as she rushed to the door.
“Just leave me alone.” She whimpered, swinging the door open and accidentally bumping into Jinyoung, who just so happened to be walking in the hallway when she began to walk out.
“Oop— Sorry, sweetheart. Are you o—” Jinyoung started, getting interrupted by your daughter’s frustrated yell and stomps down the hall. He furrowed his eyebrows and walked into his son’s nursery. “Is she alright?”
You sighed, shrugging. “I don’t know. She won’t talk to me,” You whispered through tears. “I don’t know what to do.”
“Don’t give up, baby. I know it’s hard, but it’s obvious she needs you right now. Here, go try again and I’ll put him to bed.” Jinyoung nodded towards the sleeping boy latched onto your breast. You nodded through sniffles, allowing him to pull him away from you as you fixed your top.
You looked up to see your boyfriend staring at your chest with red cheeks, gulping harshly. You rolled your eyes and patted his chest softly. “My eyes are up here, babe.” You teased, pressing a small kiss to his cheek before you left the room to find your daughter.
You assumed she was in her bedroom, knocking on the door softly. “G-Go away!” She sobbed on the other side, making your heart ache. You ignored her pleas, letting yourself into the room.
“It’s okay, I’m right here,” You hushed, rushing to her and pulling her into your chest. “Talk to me, baby. Tell mommy what’s wrong.”
“I just—” She stopped herself, tensing up before taking a deep breath. You rubbed her back in an attempt to soothe her. “Can I see daddy?”
Her words made your breath hitch in your throat. “Baby, I don’t think—”
“Please,” She begged, pulling away to look up at you. Your heart broke when you made eye contact with her— her eyes were red and swollen with tears spilling from them uncontrollably. “I’m ready. I want to see him; I need to.”
You closed your eyes, trying to hold back your tears as you let her words sink in. “Mommy. Please.” She begged once more before you were nodding, making her break out into a teary smile.
“Okay. Tomorrow I’ll take you to see daddy.” You agreed, bringing her into a tight hug as you both rocked back and forth.
After a few more minutes, you kissed her goodnight and tucked her into bed. You walked into your bedroom with an anxious heart, shutting the door behind you. “How’d it go? Is she okay now?” Jinyoung asked softly from his spot on the bed, his eyes trailing over your figure as you began to change out of your clothes.
“She wants to see her dad.” You said lowly, voice shaking with worry. Jinyoung’s eyes widened at the sudden words, taken aback. He muted the TV and sat up, leaning against the headboard. “I told her yes. I’m taking her tomorrow.”
“Are you sure she’s ready?” He whispered, gulping when he watched you undo your bra and slide on one of his T-Shirts.
“I mean, I honestly don’t know, but she says she is.” You sighed, tossing your clothes into the dirty hamper.
“Well then you just gotta trust her. If she says she is, then maybe she is.” Jinyoung comforted, wrapping his arms around you once you were laying beside him in bed. “It’s going to be okay, baby. She’ll be okay.”
A part of you hoped she would forget about the whole thing by tomorrow, but you knew she wouldn’t. She couldn’t. She was more than excited to see her father after six years, even if she wasn’t actually going to see him physically.
You watched as she rushed towards the specific grave upon arrival, her small hands running themselves over the indentation of her father’s name. You looked at Jinyoung with a small smile, making him nod encouragingly at you. You sighed and handed your son off to your boyfriend before catching up with your daughter, leaving the two boys behind beside the car.
“Is this what you’ve been so upset about? Missing your dad?” You asked curiously, sitting beside her on the freshly mowed grass with your hands in your sweatshirt pocket.
Your daughter sighed, her heart aching at the sight of ‘loving father’ written underneath of his name. “Well, that and Jinyoung,” She muttered, making you freeze in confusion. “I like him, but.. I just feel like it’s unfair to daddy. I don’t know, I just feel like I’m betraying him somehow.”
Your heart dropped and you sighed heavily, leaning forward to grab at your daughter and pull her onto your lap. “Baby,” You started. “Daddy would want me to move on, want me to be happy. He loves the both of us too much to let us sit together in sorrow. He loves me and wants me to have a good man, and he loves you and wants you to have a good father figure. I know it’s hard, but I promise you, he is happy for us.”
She nodded sadly at your words, her small hand rubbing at her wet cheeks. “I’m sorry, mommy.”
“Don’t be. I understand. It’s hard. But if it wasn’t for Jinyoung, your brother wouldn’t be here. Mommy wouldn’t be in love, or as happy as she is. You wouldn’t have a good stepdaddy to take care of you and shower you with love. I think daddy chose him to take care of us while he was gone, princess. We just have to trust him.”
She nodded in agreement, her voice shaking with sobs. “Here,” You whispered, digging into your pocket. “I brought this to give to you. I’ve been keeping it in a special place until now.”
You dropped the silver ring into her small palm, watching her eyes widen with curiosity.
“It’s the ring your father proposed to me with. It’s the last thing I have left of him, and I think you deserve to have it.” You spoke, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek as she gasped and squeezed it to her chest with a large smile on her face. The two of you stayed their in silence, just staring into the distance before you spoke.
“You know, I used to breastfeed you, too.” You teased, making your daughter groan and shiver. “I just don’t understand why you’re so freaked out about a little boob! I mean, your dad loved boobs— what’s wrong with that?”
“Ew!” She shrieked. “Boobs are gross, mom. They have cooties.”
“Ahh, right,” You rolled your eyes. “Cooties. I forgot.”
You two stayed their for a few more minutes before returning back to the car with the boys. Your daughter remained extremely happy the rest of the night, and even ran up to Jinyoung asking him if he could put the ring onto a necklace for her to wear around. “Of course I can, princess.”
He guided her to the bedroom, where they sat on the floor and dug through an old box under the bed, searching for an old necklace chain. Upon finding one, Jinyoung held out his hand for the ring, inwhich the little girl carefully placed it into. “This is a beautiful ring,” He spoke gently while he worked. “I bet your daddy loved mommy very much.”
Her heart swelled with pride, and she nodded eagerly. “He did. He loved her a whole bunch.” She exclaimed, earning a large smile from Jinyoung. She watched him as he worked, guilt starting to eat her up as she remembered how many times she was mean to him because of her jealousy. “I’m sorry I was being a brat to you.”
Jinyoung furrowed his eyebrows and set the chain down, looking over at her. “What are you talking about, honey? You’re not a brat.”
“Yes I am,” She muttered, looking down at the ring on the floor. “Daddy chose you to take care of me and mommy. Daddy chose you to give me a little brother. Daddy chose you, and I ruined it. I was a real big brat, and I’m sorry.”
Jinyoung’s heart shattered and he bit back tears, opening his arms up for her to crawl into. She did, allowing more tears to fall as she laid her head onto his chest. “Don’t ever say you’re sorry again, okay? You did nothing wrong. I understand. You know that no matter what you do or say to me, I will always be here to love you. Don’t you?”
She nodded and he kissed her head, leaning forward to grab the necklace placed in front of the two. “Hold your hair up for me real quick,” He whispered. She obeyed, pulling her up at while Jinyoung clasped the necklace around her neck. “Your daddy loves you. Your mommy loves you. I love you. You will always have us.”
Tumblr media
major: business w/ a concentration in human resources management
minor: dance
club: prob vp of the school’s women in business club!!! she joined in the middle of her sophomore year and became vp in junior!
she’s most likely been an RA in her sophomore or junior for the upperclassmen
she was in it for the door decs before realizing she actually liked it lOL
originally was a bio major and was stressed about it, but switched to business after being an RA because she thought it was her calling???
it just fit a lot better and she didn’t have to stand there hunched over her lab work and worry about accidentally breathing in pathogens
she had declared a bio major because the plan was to go to med school if all else fails and she didn’t really know what else to do, so that was a safe option right?
never before had she been so relieved to find out that she actually really liked spending time in her business and management classes and leading her volunteer group and being an RA
she also now has an excuse to dress up super nicely for interviews and such because she had so many outfits in her closet but never got a chance to wear them out
she became so much more at ease and bubbly about it too
no more sitting in lecture halls having to recite the functions of B-cells or whatnot
it also helped to have sat down with her ARD irene who told her she might like business
it was a long process of convincing because most of it was spent trying not to keep gossiping about the other RAs on campus alfsdlknfmsdlgkn
afterwards she quits reslife so she can focus on other stuff and lives in an apartment near campus her senior year
she becomes pretty popular around campus for her happy personality and her calm energy to match, making it so easy to start a conversation with her or just hang out
seulgi will be studying somewhere in a common student area and previous residents or club mates or classmates will wave to her or stop by for a quick chat
she’s also normally p busy tho being the vp of the wib club and also making sure she’s updating her resume and leaving time on the weekends to volunteer at the animal shelter like she loves
and also making sure she isn’t spending too much on online shopping for clothes and oOPS HER FINGER SLIPPED AND NOW SHE HAS LIKE TWO TOPS AND A PAIR OF OVERALLS ON THE WAY
but she often doesn’t have a lot of time to spend with her friends unless they plan it like a MONTH beforehand since she’s been applying and interviewing for countless internships
she was just so excited to find something that she’s super passionate about instead of biology and she kind of overloads herself on that energy akfsldgnskjgn
so of course when her friends invite her to parties or kickbacks she has to decline because she has to make the next powerpoint presentation for the club meeting and also make sure the club’s end of semester dinner is being all squared away
seulgi’s a busybody and enjoys what she does, so much that she doesn’t realize that she keeps overloading her schedule and not giving a lot of time for just herself
which usually means she also spends a lot of time cramming everything at once and might end up passing out at a friend’s place during a study session, in the middle of club meetings, or even in the library late at night
that’s just how she spent her thursday night
she had been setting up a speech for her recruitment and selection class and had been so tired from her club meeting a couple hours before that she ended up falling asleep in the library
it was kind of cute since she had hairs slipping from her bun, some coffee stains on her sweater, ink all over her hand from notes, candy wrappers spread around her area, and her head was tipped back and her mouth wide open as she slept
okay............ not that cute
she was a mess
but it was enough for her to get startled awake by a longboard rolling across the room and hitting her chair leg quite hard
she didn’t know what happened at first and checked around only to find a somewhat empty library save the couple of students also diligently working
her laptop she left open was dead and she cursed because she didn’t save her speech and her phone was below 10%, but it was enough to tell her that it was like 3am in the morning
seulgi only noticed the skateboard because she was going to go to the bathroom to freshen up and almost slipped on it when her foot landed on the top
she caught herself and saw that there was a bottle of water and a granola bar and a note on it
‘hey, you look like you need a little refresher. i also had a spare charger in case you needed it, your laptop has been open the past hour’
sure enough there was a charger but it had been knocked to the floor after she slipped on the longboard
silently, seulgi placed the items on the table with the rest of her stuff and looked around for anyone who would have given her the stuff
except nobody was popping their head up and were all busy
plus they all had chargers with them so she didn’t know who would have given her the treats
nonetheless she opened the water bottle and felt replenished when the water hit her throat
she was so confused????? still?????
she decided to take her trip to the bathroom like she wanted to and maybe she could scope out whoever decided to give her the food and drink while she was at it
subtlety wasn’t exactly her forte either since she was craning her neck around every table and making the other students confused
eventually seulgi makes it to the bathroom and cleans herself up and when she comes back the longboard is gone and her laptop was charged for her and a new note lays on top of it?????
who???????
‘i had to go for the night, sorry about that! don’t worry about the charger, i have another one and i’ll just collect this one when i bump into you again :)’
and just like that seulgi was completely and utterly confused
she stays like that for the next two weeks or so, seeing no sign of anyone with the same longboard and she tries not to pounce at every person she sees riding one to class
it gets so bad that the prez asked if she was okay and getting enough sleep since she was so distracted during her meetings and if she called the caterer for the dinner yet asgGNSGDN
her friends sooyoung and yerim were also trying to use this as an advantage for her to get invited out to “clear her mind” as they say since she’s been so out of it lately
and they’re absolutely elated when seulgi agrees and decides to go because why not?? she’s been so stressed about finding this mystery person because she wanted to properly thank them... but also to get the laptop charger with hello kitty stickers all over it back to its owner
and also did they see she had drool running down her chin bc that was really embarrassing and she just wants to make sure if anyone saw that before she promptly packs her bags a moves to another country
she’s blushing at that don’t point it out or else it’ll get worse amsdlknsg
once they’re actually inside, she can’t help but look for any longboards by the door even though most of the people at the party came by on foot or by someone’s car since the house was relatively close to campus
sooyoung and yerim are basically pushing her further into the house as they chatter excitedly and they’re happy it isn’t a byob type of party
seulgi is basically saying she won’t drink that much because she’ll look after the two and let them go ham... for a bit..
but they’re basically like
“seulgi it’s fridaaaaay it’s fine”
“yeah! besides we know the house owner and can call joohyun if we anything”
and they’re both going “pleeeeeeeeaaaaase” and doing their best to yell it over the loud music
and before seulgi can deny any longer she’s turned to the kitchen that’s been blocked by a foldable table and there’s cup lining it and drinks all over on the counters
but she’s not distracted by the abundance of drinks and people surrounding it.........
she finds you smiling cheekily at her
“what can i get you?”
and seulgi starts sputtering over her words and she REALLY cannot get a single word out because oh my gosh who are you and are you single because UHHHHHHH her brain is going overload
and both sooyoung and yerim are already cackling at seulgi’s stunned silence and giving each other mischievous looks behind seulgi while she malfunctions
meanwhile you’re just drinking it all up with an amused smile and gleam in your eyes and oh god do you HAVE to lean against the counter like that?
seulgi can barely get a word out before you’re laughing a little and turning around to prepare three red solo cups
you pass the cups to sooyoung and yerim and they basically BOLT away to leave seulgi all alone and more importantly alone wITH YOU SOMEONE SAVE HER
you laugh at her red cheeks that shine from the kitchen lights behind you and seulgi is absolutely enamored by you at this moment
“don’t worry, i gave them more fruit juice than i did alcohol. they’ll be fine”
seulgi barely registers this and gapes like a fish to where her friends are dancing and drinking from whatever you prepared them
had she been paying proper attention like she normally does, she’s notice that yes you basically watered down the alcohol with some lemonade
“i know how crazy those two can get after a couple parties with them, so i’m making sure they don’t go overboard”
seulgi only watches as you take her cup and put it under the sink to give her water
she takes it an tries not to get giddy when your fingers brush
inner seulgi facepalms because she’s acting like she has a crush in high school
but she’s never felt this way since she switched majors???
and omg that feeling was so addicting exhibit a when seulgi overloads her schedule and now??? she just met you and can’t get enough already
“thank you” she practically inwardly screams when she realizes how meek she is but you only give her a friendly smile
“yeah! thought you could use a little refresher. i didn’t know if you wanted anything so i didn’t want to give you anything you wouldn’t feel pressured to drink. let me know if you need anything else!”
all seulgi does for the rest of the night is basically hang around the room and watch everyone get kind of crazy and make sure sooyoung and yerim are staying on their feet, but with a second set of eyes she actually feels like she has more freedom
especially since you stopped giving them alcohol and basically have been serving them just juice after they started getting past the bit of tipsiness
eventually seulgi has enough of just standing around and has had enough cups of water (she had maybe 3) to finally talk to you
before she’d been working up the courage to talk to you and had come back with a refilled cup of water but noW???
NOW???
she’s ready
at least she hopes
seulgi’s marching up to you and then sooyoung is at her arm whining and sort of falling over
seulgi manages to catch her and is p disoriented by everything like what is happening is she okay??
and sooyoung is just like
“seulgiiiiiiiii i wanna go hoooome, can we get burgers?”
and before she can ask where yerim went, she suddenly pops up and joins in
“burgers? i heard burgers can we go, i was foooood”
before she knows it she’s dragged out of the house by the two and basically walking them home a couple blocks away
and now seulgi’s bummed that she didn’t get to finally talk to you like she wanted
she doesn’t even know when she’ll be able to see you again since she didn’t get your name at all and she’d be mortified by all the teasing the younger two would give her since they knew how choked up she was if she asks them who you were
she’s even kind of sulking about it and she’s so caught up in it she gets a notification from her phone that she needs to finalize things with the caterer and reserve one of the areas on campus for the club’s dinner and that reminds her she needs to shop
but as she’s on her phone she nearly swerves into somebody and it shocks her enough to bring her back to reality and she moves to apologize to the person and all of a sudden
“oh hey! you again, fancy seeing you!”
and she’s now forgotten everything since she sees you smiling at her
this time she forces herself to find her voice and not embarrass herself and it’s like her interview persona comes in and she’s got that natural confidence oozing in and she beams that pretty smile of hers right back at you
“and you too! i never thought i’d run into you again”
you laugh and all of a sudden you’re like an inch shorter and seulgi looks down and spots that you’d been riding a longboard before almost crashing into her
and she recognizes that longboard with all of the sanrio stickers on it and is that a sicker of your face with some filter on the corner of it???
but she recognizes the longboard since it’s been engraved in her mind and it just clicks for her and suddenly seulgi is scrambling to pull her backpack from behind and you just watch on like
uh r u okay? are you good? pls don’t take out some random textbook and smack me over the head with it
the hello kitty covered charger she’s been saving in her backpack is suddenly thrust into her hands and you think she’s about to stumble her words again like in those anime love confession scenes but she’s almost aggressive with it????
“i’ve been keeping this in my backpack for a few weeks! i didn’t even know what you looked like so i had no clue how to find you, do you know how stressed out you made me? you’ve been on my mind for almost a month!”
she doesn’t even realize how her words sound until you’re responding back in kind with another one of those easy smiles of yours
“sorry, i’ve been meaning to catch you sooner but i’ve so many labs back to back” you look at your phone and bite your lip nervously, something seulgi is a little too focused on “i actually have one in like five minutes, that’s why i almost crashed into you...”
seulgi finally realizes you’re wearing a white lab coat, something you’d worn in preparation since you were already rushing to be on time
your phone is thrust into her hands with the empty contact already loaded up
seulgi quickly types in her number and even snaps a cute profile photo of her and it’s your turn to be stunned by her because wow that was an impromptu photo and hOW DID SHE MAKE IT SO GOOD????
and then seulgi is ushering you off because you have like thREE MINUTES BEFORE LAB and you’re like OH YEAH UH BYE!!!! I’LL CALL YOU????
and she shouts back with a “YOU BETTER!!”
and suddenly seulgi gets a phone call and when she picks up she can hear the wind rushing past the speaker and you’re kind of breathy since you’re reaLLY using those leg muscles to PUSH to that lab
“yEaH so UH i wanted to tell you but i didn’t get the chance since i don’t want to have to do a makeup lab??? bUT UH, i saw one of your dance performances last year and thought you were really cute!!”
seulgi vaguely remembers that because she had done a solo dance for a showcase in the performing arts department and it was basically for the students to show off what they were working on and to her it was just a homework assignment on top of like four labs and a research paper
“oh yeah! i remember that... well not really, i’d been so busy that it all just flew by”
“yeah! that was around the time you were a bio major, right? i’d been meaning to talk to you then, but i wasn’t able to since you switch majors afterwards!”
“ah, bio as well?”
she hears your voice echo and she knows you’ve entered the building by now
relief floods her system that she didn’t keep you too long
“nah, i’m a chem major. it translates pretty well to mixing drinks, huh?”
instead of getting embarrassed and recounting that previous experience at the party, seulgi’s business confidence is suRGING and i mean IT IS LARGO and she’s like
“i can’t really say. you’ve only made me water, so i’ll have to see another time?”
at this point you’re absolutely vibrating with excitement at the proposal of a date and you quickly accept
and that’S WHAT HAPPENED BUT YOU SPENT IT OVER A HOMEMADE DINNER WITH WINE AND SEULGI COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE IMPRESSED?!?!?!?!?
you’d cooked it all and brought it to her apartment since you said your housemates were hosting some study session so you just offered to bring it all over
she’s also shocked you managed to find time to do all of this given the busy stem major life and how she was struggling before
but she’s also mentioning that giving her one cup of wine doesn’t mean that’s mixing up a drink so you’ll have to do this again
and it happens aGAIN when you’re at a restaurant this time and it’s a pretty nice one near campus and y’all are just chatting away about seulgi’s women in business club dinner and she invites you to be her plus one aSDFKNSLF sHE MAY HAVE BEEN TOO SHY TO SAY DATE BUT YOU GOT THE MESSAGE
bUT AT THE SAME TIME the restaurant is the one making the drinks, so you’ll have to have her over again and mix something up
and sooyoung and yerim and just so distraught lIKE GO OUT ALREADY
and seulgi’s like we are?????? WE ARE????? WE ARE GOING ON DATES AND STUFF
but they just groan out and are about to storm up to in the middle of a lab and just hand seulgi over like
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE JUST CALL HER YOUR GIRLFRIEND ALREADY
when you finally do it’s funny because it’s at another party that sooyoung and yerim invite her to and you’re there mixing it up again but she didn’t realize that the first party where she met you was your house????
she’s hanging out with you in the kitchen and you’ve made her a cup of something sweet and seulgi has to admit that it is pretty good
and you just wink at her saying that your chemistry skills are actually pretty good
BUT THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE TWO OF YOU IS EVEN BETTER HEHEHE
and you’re totally not just hanging out in the kitchen away from the sweaty dancing crowd and sticky floor you’re having your housemates clean up since you’re the drink master
and yOU ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT STEALING KISSES FROM EACH OTHER WHILE SEULGI’S SITTING ON THE COUNTER AND YOU’RE PRETENDING TO REACH AROUND HER FOR A BOTTLE BUT NO INSTEAD YOU’RE REACHING FOR HER WAIST AND HOLDING HER CLOSE AS YOU KISS HER AND NOW YOU’RE SMILING AGAINST EACH OTHER’S LIPS
you spend late nights in the library together now and you’re also most of seulgi’s impulse control when it comes to making plans and doing stuff
mainly because you’re telling her that no-no do not force yourself to go to that resume workshop you’ve been to them enough times to LEAD those
and then she gets all excited like REALLY DO YOU THINK THEY’D LET ME?!?!?!
and you’re like no stOP WE’RE STAYING IN FOR A MOVIE NIGHT AND WATCHING CARS 2
but it’s also funny to see seulgi falling asleep against your shoulder and her mouth is hanging wide open and you’ve set so many pictures of her like that as your homescreen and been yelled at too many times to change it
and when you do change it, it’s just a different picture of her in that position from a different day
she likes to run through her speeches and presentations with you and you find it so cool that she’s so poised when doing that BUt she gets so shy when she wants a kiss but doesn’t want to say so and SHE KNOWS you know she wants a kiss
you’re constantly doing her buns for her since you’ve had some practice keeping your own hair out of your face for labs but also getting tips from other girls in your labs and lectures and when they find out the reason why they’re just like pLS YOU TWO GET MARRIED
but the closest they can see the two of you dress up together is when seulgi decides to wear her business clothes out on a date and you’ve gotten stuff to match her and now you’re basically a ceo power couple walking around campus to go return some books to the library
you sitting in on her meetings and watching with lovestruck eyes as she basically spends the good half of it also staring right back at you and when they’re in discussion or activities she just clings to your side and cuddles you
you teach her how to longboard and she’s still a little wobbly but it’s SO CUTE when she’s fearfully holding onto your hands and staring down at her feet and shouting at you to NOT LET GO AT ANY COST
eventually she gives up on that and buys a pair of rollerblades instead so you can just pull her around while she hangs onto your backpack strings while you move on the longboard
BUT WHAT MAKES EVERYONE JEALOUS???
you hold her hand instead :)
she’s just laughing and giggling and being all around smiley when your hands are linked and you’re rolling around campus with her in tow
you even go to all of her dance events as well!!!
she’s been able to put a lot more effort into them since switching majors, but especially since you manage to keep her rooted and not going off doing so many things at once
she also wants to make sure she looks good for you
when does she not though??
y’all are literally tooth rotting sweet for each other
it’s the absolute cutest thing and you totally didn’t put a sticker of her sleeping face with her mouth open on your longboard........ and on your charger...... and the laptop........ and hers.... -q- zzZZZ
The hosts seeing their soulmate for the first time?
For this ask i’m doing the color one. where you see color the second you lock eyes with your soulmates.
Haruhi
She was at the host club when it happens. you were a new guest.
“Hello and wel- Oh my god!” the Host all turn as she drops her tea set. you actually stumble back and fall in a chair. the room burst with sequels of joy from other guest but shes just staring. “Hello…”
“Hello. nice to finally meet you?”
Tamaki
“YOU STOP!” you freeze as he points at you. color filling your vision much like it probably is his. “Your my… your my, um.”
“soulmate?” you finish. you guys were making a bit of a scene in the pet shop. you could hear the older couples laugh and the unclaimed ones sigh in jealousy. it was far from romantic. you saw a big grin spread across his face. he liked hearing you say it.
Kyoya
His was the most unexpected. he always figured it would be at one of those youth meet and greets where high society youth hope to meet their soul mates. that’s how his brothers found theirs. Nope. he locked eyes with you at a restaurant! incognito as a commoner. Both of you locked eyes for a second and looked away like strangers do when you accidentally meet eyes. but as color dripped into the world he about knocked over his chair standing up to look at you again. here?? you??
Hikaru
He bumped into you in the hall. “Oops sorry.” as you guys locked eyes, Color started to fill his vision. and he just stared. and you just stared. you both just stared and did nothing. neither of you really knew how to react. neither of you knew what these colors were and on top of that you guys were taking in the site of each other. they say it’s love at first site but more so it was fear at the sudden shock of finding each other.
Kaoru
You handed him a rose that he had dropped on the way to a host event in a garden. “Oh! wait you dropped this!”
“Did I? Thank yo-” he just about dropped the rest of the flowers. the vibrant colors of the flowers, your eyes, the sky?! he was stunned.
“h-hi…”
“hi…” he had found his soulmate. there they were, right in front of him. he couldn’t stop the grin that spread on his face. in full honestly he didn’t think he had a soulmate! “Hey, want to come with me?”
Honey
you were both in a shop looking at stuffed animals and you grabbed the same one at the same time. he looked up at you and smiled. “oh i’m sorry do you want-” he went silent. you let go in shock. he stared at you, then the stuffed animal, then back at you.
“I’m getting this now! nice to meet you!” he laughed holding out his hand. he was not who you thought would be your soulmate but it felt right.
Mori
You were training in one of his families dojos. you couldn’t get a flip right and he came over to help you.
“Like this, let me show you.” as you locked eyes with him for a second and color started appearing he flipped you in shock.
“Ow!” he quickly ran over to see if you were ok of course but it was a very funny first meeting.
“Hi. nice to meet you! mind showing me that again?” you laugh as his face turned a vibrant color. ah, that must be red?
Hey, I wanted to make a request? Slightly angsty Spongebob musical fic, with the SB/Pat/Sandy, set to Boy in the Bubble by Alec Benjamin. Thank you if you do!
I completely forgot i can answer asks oops so here!
“It was 6:48, I was walking home. Stepped through the gate and I’m all alone, I had chicken on the plate but the food was cold, then I covered up my face so that no one knows…”
Bobby had never really fit in with the people in his town. The other people thought he was too extroverted, too trusting. They seemed to love to tell Bobby that he was a boy in a bubble, that no one in the town was genuinely friends with him, that he ought to break out of his fantasy world. Bobby always brushed it off though, took the negative statements and pretended it didn’t affect him. He didn’t want pity from others. If everyone was using him, well...he likes helping people, so it isn't an issue anyhow.
“How is this my fault?” Bobby wondered aloud to the dark air as he kicked the door shut behind him. He felt no need to cover up his face, no one was home, so no one would see. Padding to the kitchen, he digs out some ice cubes, placing them in a bag and holding it to his eye. As he slumps on the couch, he feels his cat Gary climb onto his lap. The tabby chirps at him, and Bobby nods his head, hugging Gary to him.
“Oh Gare-Bear,” the boy sighed, “How do I get myself into these situations time and time again?” The hand that wasn’t occupied with holding an ice-bag to his eye scratched the cat’s head. In response, Gary purred, and simultaneously meowed, as though responding to the boy.
“I didn’t want trouble, I’m the boy in the bubble, but then came trouble…”
Bobby Porter does not get into fights. People see him as the consistently optimistic boy who is too naive. But his temper at times flares, and the one thing he will absolutely not stand for is people being rude to his friends.
Of course, maybe approaching William Fitzgerald while he was surrounded by his posse of friends might not have been the smartest choice. But watching alongside Patrick and Sandy as his buddy Edward was basically publicly humiliated was not okay. Maybe the furthest thing from it, in all honesty.
So Bobby did what he thought was right and marched forward. As he recalls Pat grabbing his arm in an effort to stop Bobby, the boy lifts his chin slightly, still adamant that his decision was right.
"When my mom walked into the living room, she said, "Boy, you gotta tell me what they did to you," I said, "You don't wanna know the things I had to do" she said, "Son, you gotta tell me why you're black and blue…"
Bobby remembers the surprise that passed over Williams' face before he disguised it with disdain.
"You need to leave Edward alone now." He had said through gritted teeth.
"Oh really? And why is that?" The pretentious musician replied, arching an eyebrow.
With a brief glance at Eddy, Bobby felt his anger strengthen. A crowd had begun forming, and he wasn't sure where Pat and Sandy were at that moment. "Because Edward is by far the most talented person ever, more talented than your pretentious self could ever be." Bobby spat the words out, and relished the surprise flitting on the taller guy's face.
His satisfaction was short lived, however. The next thing Bobby remembers is the feeling of something hitting his eye and him falling backwards. A nervous hush fell over the crowd as they waited for Bobby to retaliate.
"I said I didn't want trouble, I'm the boy in the bubble, but then came trouble…"
Bobby scrambled to his feet and threw a right hook at William. Logically speaking, Bobby knew that it likely was not William who punched him, but he knew this was the musicians fault.
William stumbled back, cursing out Bobby as he clutched his cheek.
"And my heart was pumping, chest was screaming, mind was running, air was freezing, put my hands up, put my hands up, I told this kid I'm ready for a fight…"
There's a knock at the door that startles Bobby out of his daze. Gary hops off his lap and trots to the door, sticking his head out the little cat door he had installed.
He knew Patrick and Sandy were likely the ones outside. He also knew they didn't agree with how he'd handled things. But he picked himself off the chair and opened the door, and was surprised when he saw Edward there as well. So surprised, he accidentally lowered the bag of ice.
Sandy winced and Pat looked away. Eddy looked down at his shoes, his clarinet case clutched in his hand. Flushing with embarrassment, Bobby steps aside and gestures for them to enter. "Bobby, Eddy here has got somethin' to tell ya." Sandy broke the silence, glancing at Eddy with a nod.
Curious, Bobby leaned forward in his chair. Ed rolls his eyes and looks away "Thank you for standing up for me. And...I'm sorry about earlier."
"Punch my face, do it 'cause I like the pain, every time you curse my name, I know you want the satisfaction, it's not gonna happen…"
After hitting William, Bobby saw another fist flying at him, and ducked out of the way, and directly into a different hand. This time, however, Bobby didn't fall back. Instead, before his attacker could pull his hand back all the way, Bobby had grabbed a hold of his wrist and managed to pin it behind the guys back.
The idea of kicking this guy briefly fled through Bobby's head, but instead Bobby shoved the guy away, flinching when he touched his cheek and it came back slightly red.
As Bobby went to retrieve his backpack he'd dropped, he heard Eddy mumble "I didn't ask you to do that."
The shorter boy spun around, head slightly tilted to meet Eddy's gaze. "Eddy, how is it that this is my fault now? I stood up for you, I didn't see anyone else do that. I thought I did something good." Bobby stormed away after, entirely wrapped up in the overwhelming exhaustion and pain.
"Knock me out, kick me when I'm on the ground…"
Peering at Edward before slumping in his chair, Bobby shrugged. "It's not too big a deal, because I think it was the right thing to do."
Mostly because Bobby couldn't see from his left eye, he didn't realize Patrick was kneeling at his side until he felt his best friend's hand gently tugging at the bag.
Defenses instantly raised, Bobby pulled away. He felt guilty at the heartbroken way Pat looked. "I— Patrick, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it in any way, I just…" Bobby bit his lip and looked down.
Bobby stood, and in a whisper, said "please, could you guys leave me alone for now?" He moved toward the door, intending to go on a walk, but Sandy appeared before him. So he backed away, only to bump into Pat. "Don't you get it lil' dude?" Sandy giggled.
"You aren't going anywhere." Patrick finished for Sandy, and wrapped his arms around Bobby.
Noticing Eddy trying to exit the scene, Sandy pulled him into the hug, trapping him in the embrace.
"It's only gonna let you down, come the lightning and the thunder, you're the one who'll suffer, suffer…"
Content in knowing that his friends weren't mad at him, Bobby allowed himself to feel the swell of genuine love for his friends, and addition to the feelings he's already felt for Sandy and Pat. But that's for another time.
In the end, he surmised, it doesn't really matter what anyone wants to tell me because these people mean the world to me.
Chan and you had always been close. You both grew up as next door neighbors. The two of you formed a fast friendship when your ball accidentally rolled over to your neighbor’s yard with it stopping by his feet. The dark haired boy with chubby cheeks looked at you with your red cherry ball within his hands. You had asked him if he wanted to play play along with a wide toothy smile that showed the gap in your teeth. You ran over the boundary to grab him by the wrist and the rest was history.
“Hey, short stuff. Are you ready to leave this hell hole?” Chan chuckled landing a light punch on your shoulder.
“You’re not going to be able to leave this hell hole if you don’t study for your final. I didn’t agree to stay after school to tutor you just for you to fool around,” you smiled back tossing a rolled up paper ball at him. The ball bouncing pathetically off his forehead, eliciting a “hey!” from him.
“Nu uh. You’re not tutoring me, I’m tutoring you,” Chan enunciated by pointing at himself then pointing at you.
“Dork,” Chan laughed at your remark. ”Chan, we’re tutoring each other on different subjects.”
“I can’t wait to go home, I’m pooped,” Chan exclaimed dramatically.
“Me too, but we’re stuck here until the storm ends,” you pointed your pen to the window with rain pattering against the glass as the night sky lit up with a loud thunderous boom.
“Ugh!” Chan leaned back in his chair and throwing his head back.
“Might as well to use this time to not procrastinate and squeeze in extra studying,” you suggested.
“But I don’t wanna~” Chan whined.
“What are you? 8?” you chuckled, shaking your head.
“Don’t you have any other ideas?” Chan sighed slumping over the table, sprawling his limbs over both your notes.
“I got one idea.”
“Do tell,” Chan sat up leaning his cheek on his hand.
“Do you have scissors?” you asked pulling out a sheet of paper.
“Yeah, what’s up?” Chan rummaged through his backpack for the school supply.
“Have you ever heard about the ’Sachiko Ever After’ charm?” you asked grabbing the scissors from his grasp.
“Mmm mmm,” Chan pressed his lips together as he shook his head.
“I read it on a blog online,” you started, cutting the paper into a doll shape. “It’s a charm that blesses people with eternal friendship.”
“Lame,“ Chan snorted.
“Rude,” you pouted.
“Hey, we’ll still be friends forever,” Chan smiled grabbing your hand gently shaking it softly. “So what is it?”
“Legend has it that years ago there was a school that was met with a tragedy. The school nurse died in a tragic accident: she fell down the stairs and her neck was deformed and bent out of shape. Allegedly her daughter, Sachiko, went missing that same night.”
“And this ensures eternal friendship how?” Chan inquired, his eyebrow quirking up. The room lit up as thunder boomed.
You shrugged as you cleaned up the shape of the paper doll. “They say that her spirit still wanders the earth and she has the ability to grant wishes. If you do the ‘Sachiko Ever After’ charm, her spirit will channel through and give her blessings for eternal friendship.”
“Cool,” Chan smiled. “So how do we do it?”
You held up the paper doll. “We need at least two people in order to do the charm.  We both have to firmly grasp parts of this doll, then we chant ‘Sachiko, we beg of you.’ We have to do it in our head, one time for each person in the room. In our case, we have to chant it twice. Afterwards, we have to pull on the doll. Ideally, we keep the paper scrap on our person at all times.”
Thunder struck loudly as the room shook lightly.
Chan laughed. “This could be a sign? Sachiko doesn’t want us to be friends.”
“Very funny, Chan,” you responded sarcastically.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Chan grinned at you grabbing the doll’s legs with you grabbing the head.
“You ready?” you looked at him.
“Yeah,” Chan smiled.
‘Sachiko, we beg of you. Sachiko, we beg of you.’
Chan and you made eye contact and nodded to each other signifying you were done. With a firm grip, you both pulled on the doll, the paper ripping along the waist.
Lightning tore through the night sky as deafeningly loud thunder broke through the silence. The walls shook lightly as the lights flicker. The window shatters as the harsh winds force the tree branch that was tapping on the glass to break through.
“Wack,” Chan frowned, leaning over to his backpack to grab his wallet and slide his piece of paper into it with you doing the same to yours.
“So, now you’re stuck with me for eternity,” you giggled.
“Gasp. The horror!” Chan smiled as he grabbed the fabric of his shirt over where his heart is residing before throwing an arm around you to pull you into a hug.
You and Chan paused as the entire building shook. The tables moving along the vibrations. The lights were flickerings as books were shaken out of the book shelves.
“Earthquake!” Chan called out, reaching out to grab your shoulders to pull you down to the ground.
“Channie!” you called out, with panic laced in your voice.
“I’m here, I got you-”
The ground shook once more, this time the shaking was so much more forceful. You felt the vibrations stopping momentarily as the ground disappeared below you. Your heart skipped a beat and you and Chan stared at the dark abyss that suddenly appeared below you. Soon afterwards, both you and Chan starting falling into the darkness as a scream ripped out of your throat.
“Y/N!” Chan called out to you, reaching out to you. Your hands reach up to grab at his sleeves as he pulled you close to his body. “Don’t let go!”
That was the last thing you’ve heard before you were engulfed by the darkness.
~
~
You awaken (by Stray Kids) in an unfamiliar place. You sat up slightly, feeling the searing pain in your shoulder. You let out a small whine as you rubbed at your aching shoulder with your free hand.
“Chan?” you called out for your friend realizing he wasn’t with you. “CHAN?!”
You stood up on your knees as your frantically looked around the room. Outside the window was the same familiar thundering storm, but the room you were in was unfamiliar. The walls were greying and weak. The paint has chipped off, worn over the years exposing the weak splintering wood underneath. The floor was made of the same wood. There were holes decorating the floor as a few planks were popped up. Surrounding you were many desks, broken and tattered, knocked over haphazardly. Curiously, the desks were all on the smaller side. There were a few posters pasted to the walls, the ink and image faded away due to age. You can barely make out the faded text and image. It looked to be what was one a colorful cartoonish image with various letters on it.
Were you in...an elementary school?
“Channie?” you called out again, standing on your feet.
Thunder rumbled lightly outside as the rain pitter pattered lightly on the window. Lightning cracked through the atmosphere again, illuminating the dark room momentarily. You screamed at what you saw, backing up quickly. Your back roughly collided into the book shelf as you lost balance. Your hands reach out to the shelf to catch yourself.
Opposite of you on the other side of the room, was a sprawled body. An arm was outstretched as the head rested on the limb. Both eyes were void of any contents as it appeared as if a vast emptiness was staring deep into your soul. The mouth was open in a silent scream. The skin was grey with several wrinkles and had a texture similar to leather. The clothes were ripped and tattered as you saw bone peeking through the holes.
“Oh my god,” you breathed out, feeling your legs give out under you. You curled up on the floor, pulling your knees to your chest. Your hands overlap over your erratic heart as your breaths labor. You felt a chill ran down your spine as goosebumps appeared on your arms. You lifted your arm into view as your fingers grazed over the bumps to soothe them.
In your peripherals, a blue light illuminated the corner. In curiosity, you faced the light. Your heart dropping as your eyes widen. In a seated position with her knees pulled to her chest, a girl, red, boring deep into your souls. Her skin looked pure and pale as a sheet, but her red attire, what used to be a pretty red dress was torn and distressed. The fabric was fraying out and dirtied with who knows what -- things you wouldn’t dare to imagine. The figure’s hair was long and dark and in disarray. Strands of hair lingered in front of her face as her glaring wide eyes peeked through, you can feel her gaze burning holes through you.
You made eye contact with a girl as you felt an electric shock running throughout your veins. Cold sweat began forming in various spots in your body as your breathing became increasingly more labored. Fear wracked your body when you realized that your limbs felt as if it wasn’t your own anymore. The girl, without a sudden sound, stood upright in a straight posture and walked menacingly close to you. You wanted to protest, but even your mouth betrayed you. Your mouth was fixed in its clenched position as you were forced to watch the specter inch ever so closer to you. A hand was brought to her chest as the object glinted. Held by the base of the blade, was a squeaky clean unrusted pair of scissors as the lips curled upward in a small innocent smile.
Your blood curdling scream ripped through the air.
Chan had awaken with a jolt as he shot awake. His head was pounding as he rolled onto his back with a pained moan. He brought his fingers up to the throbbing pain, feeling warm liquid and a slight stinging upon contact. Bringing his hand into view revealed to the Aussie his brilliantly red coated fingers.
“Fuck,” Chan let his hand fall limp as he screwed his eyes shut. Chan let out a breathy sigh as he cracked his eyes open a bit. He took a nice long look at the cracked, worn and discolored ceiling not recognizing it.
“What the fuck? Where am I?” Chan wondered out loud shooting up into a sitting position, wincing loudly at the throbbing on his head protesting from the abrupt action.
“Ow ow ow,” Chan pressed his palm firmly onto the head wound as he willed himself off the ground.
Lightning illuminated the room briefly. It was a small quaint room with faint evidence of childish crayon and marker scribbles on the wall. The floor was littered with various markers and crayons as well as various toys. Chan scanned the room from left to right. He eyed the sprawled out letter blocks, each block was gathering dust and spread out haphazardly. He then analyzed the several balls that were scattered on the floor. Chan’s eyes narrowed at a point of interest as he stepped forward towards an oddly familiar ball.
“What the fuck?” Chan shook his head in disbelief. His hand reached for the ball, his fingers grazing over the worn rubber as he rolled it towards him.
“No,” Chan said sternly backing away quickly from the ball. Written on the ball scribbled with permanent marker was his and your names from your childhood days. Chan remembered the ball that started his long lasting friendship and vaguely recalled the ball popping and tossed due to the worn rubber from continuous use and play being weak and thin. Chan remembered the ball bouncing into his parent’s rose bush and the beloved toy popping.
“That’s- that’s not possible,” Chan whispered out. Chan turned away to step out of the room only to trip over the stacks of blocks gathered by his feet. “What?”
Chan’s eyes darted to the corner where the blocks were previously rested at only to find it bare. How did it gather at his feet?
"This is getting freaky," Chan grumbled stepping over the blocks.
Chan made his way towards the door of the room only to find a flipped over toy remote car blocking the doorway. Unlike everything else in the room that was greying and gathering dust, the car had a brilliant gloss and sheen over the red paint. Chan bent down to pick up the toy car and examine it closely. It looked to be in pristine condition with a fairly strong smell of fresh plastic.
"Why- aah!" Chan yelped when the car revved to life as the front two wheels began turning left and right frantically dropping the car as it fell and bounced on the ground. Pieces of plastic shattered and fluttered off during impact. The car bounced and rolled until it was on its hood, the battery casing popping off the bottom.
It was empty.
A loud scream shrieked through the atmosphere as Chan jumped up ready.
"Y/N? Y/N!" Chan barreled out of the room into an unfamiliar hallway.
"Oh shit," Chan cursed as he stopped just in time, swaying back and forth trying to keep his balance. The room Chan was in led to a collapsed floor. The wood was splintering around the edges and the remaining wood creaked and groaned under Chan's weight. Chan peered down the hole, it seemed endless; Chan was unable to see past the darkness.
Chan pressed his back against the wall to shimmy his way to his right down the hallway back to solid ground. Going left wasn't an option do to the lack of structurally sound wood, the ones that were there looked as if they were rotting away and can give way when applied any sort of pressure.
Chan could hear you scream once more.
"Y/N?" Chan looked past  the huge collapsed gap on the floor as he sees you stumbling out of your room, landing directly on your back. Your eyes were wide and glossy, your hair was disheveled with several strands sticking in every direction. Panic wracked through your body, Chan can see all the trembles and could almost hear your labored breathing.
"Y/N? Y/N!" Chan tried to call out to you from his side of the gap.
Your head slowly turned to face his directly as your face paled impossibly whiter as if you've seen a ghost. Whimpers erupted from your lips as you quickly back up and ran away.
"Y/N! Wait!" Chan called out, reaching out an arm, but you were already gone.
You whimpered to yourself as you slowly walked down the stairs, jumping slightly after every creek of the wood holding against your weight. Paranoia wracked your being as your dilating eyes dart back and forth at every single nook and cranny. The air felt heavier the further you walked down as if there were more paranormal activity in the air, but you kept pushing on. You needed to get away from that thing you saw.
"Anything was better than that," you would whisper to yourself in a dire attempt to console your erratically beating heart.  A fleeting feeling rushed through you. The heavy atmosphere felt as if it was pushing against you, the weight of it putting pressure over the entire surface area of your body. Your thighs subconsciously rubbed against each other as your hands absentmindedly trailed down to your pelvis area. You didn't notice it before, but it felt full and overflowing, close to bursting. The heavy atmosphere made the need for relief more dire.
You whined loudly. Why did you need to go now of all times?
You rushed down the hallway, each step creaking loudly in protest as you pushed opened the door. You yelped after being greeted by another deceased form, two actually. One larger than the other as it held the smaller within its arms. Both their eyes were hollow and dark like the one before, but their facial skin had more integrity. It was off colored with hollow cheeks. Their clothes looked clean, almost too clean. What was more off putting was the familiarity of it. You screamed shaking your head vigorously as tears flowed out in streams with your body shaking in fear.
They were donning what you and Chan were wearing.
"How horrible," Chan grumbled gazing at the sight of two bodies before him. One was was upright against the wall with the other sprawled on the floor. The one sat up right had a dark stain on their dress shirt. The once white shirt now had a large black spot. The skin underneath looked raw and torn, the flesh looked ferociously torn open by a wild animal. The other body lying on the floor had a similar black stain along their jaw. The body had decayed enough where the skin shriveled and exposed the teeth, within the junction between two teeth had evidence of meaty flesh that used to be there.
Chan groaned in disgust as he leaned down to grasp at the discarded piece of parchment. The back was blank and had a dark browning blood smear. Chan turned the piece of parchment over to read the desperate chicken scratch. Most of it was illegible and covered by drying bits of blood and dirt.
"We… starving.
… food…
Itchy… scratchy…
Rock, paper, scissors
Loser… eats winner."
"Oh my fucking god," Chan exclaimed tossing aside the scrap note. "This has got to be a sick joke."
Chan shuddered momentarily as he continued down his hallway trying to make his way to you. Chan wasn’t really the type to believe in the paranormal. Sure, Chan liked to indulge in the superstitions and the good scare of ghost stories (much to your dismay), but that doesn’t necessarily mean he believes in them. The whole building seemed to look in complete disrepair as if not a single soul has been here for years. The entire place was silent, more or less, the only noises that permeated throughout the entire building were the muffled thunderstorm outside, the building settling and himself. Chan’s entire body stiffened as a cold chill ran down his spine. A low moaning came and went like it wasn’t even there. Chan whipped around to check his behind only to see nothing out of the ordinary. Soft gurgling could be heard, similar to someone gurgling their mouth with mouthwash. Chan whipped around once more, each noise came and went but it sounded like it was directly behind him.
“What is this bullshit?” Chan mumbled under his breath, turning back the way he was originally going. His breath hitched when he noticed a figure of a small child glowing a pale blue at the end of the hallway. Chan’s eyes widen as he blinked repeatedly.
“No,” Chan spat. “I am not seeing ghosts.”
The same gurgling sound could be heard from the child. Chan gulped once he finally took in the child’s entire appearance. The child was wearing what used to be a white sweater, the white now painted a brilliant red along with a simple pleated skirt, knee high socks and black flats-- standard elementary uniform. While her body seems physically unharmed, her head was an entirely different story. Chan froze in place as he felt as if his feet were nailed to the ground. The girl trudged towards Chan with a slight wobble and limp to her step. A bloodied hand was outreached trying to grasp at Chan as she walked closer. Chan’s jaw went slack staring directly at the girl, everything jaw up was missing. It was a painful sight. The skin looked red and raw, the anatomical evidence of the upper mandible and the upper vertebrates of the spine was gone. Pieces of hair were desperately holding onto the missing skin of the neckline and the skin desperately looked like it was ready to roll back down as if you wore pants with too loose of a waist band. The flatness of it was horrendous, the lower half of her head look as if it was displaying the lower jaw and tongue on a rouge serving platter.
Another loud scream broke him from his trance. Your scream.
The headless girl still walked over towards Chan every so slightly with an arm outstretched with gurgling noises coming from the blood bubbling in her esophagus. Even if the danger before had a higher threat, his priority was you. Chan pushed forward sidestepping the girl, her tiny hands barely missed Chan as he rushed for the staircase behind her. Chan barreled down the stairs, his left hand holding on the railing using it as leverage to swing around the staircase. Chan let out a pained yelped as his fingers sliced on something. Chan stopped where he stood to examine his fingers. A huge gash was lined diagonally beginning from his index down to his middle as the blood spewed out in rivers of red as it dripped to the floor.
“Ah, shit. Shit, shit, shit,” Chan cursed grasping at his fingers trying to stop the blood flow. Upon closer inspection, Chan noticed a singular nail protruding out of the hand rail. A bundle of piano wire was gathered around the metal objects as it stretched out to the wall opposite. A small portion of the wire was dyed red with Chan’s blood as a singular drop fell towards the floor.
“What the fuck?” Chan breathed out, analyzing the wire. His uninjured hand ghosted over the wire wincing by how sharp it was. It was thin, almost transparent to the naked eye. Only upon close inspection with a critical eye, would one see the metal wire.
“That’s fucked up,” Chan ducked under that metal wire to continue on.
What you don’t know, can’t hurt anyone right?
You were currently waddling with your thighs being pushed together as you desperately trying to hold it in. You had some pride within you, you wouldn’t be able to live it down if you had to squat in the corner to relieve yourself. Even if Chan never knew about it, you can practically hear Chan clowning you about it for the rest of your life.
“Oh my god, yes! Thank you!” you sighed as your bolted toward the restroom with a sign that displayed a silhouette in a skirt. Your hand reached for the handle when a familiar voice from within stopped you. It was an old fashioned knob with an old fashioned keyhole. You kneeled down peek through the keyhole. As you expected, the voice was indeed familiar. You could see Chan standing before a stall. His head was hung low slightly. You noticed there was someone in the stall Chan was standing in front of, but you couldn’t see or hear who it was. Only parts of her front were peeking out of the stall, you can faintly see the outline of the figure standing on a bucket with their arms rope bound before her. You could also make out a rope tied to the ceiling.
“Oh my god, oh my god,” you panicked as your heart raced in your chest. You watch Chan without hesitation kick the bucket from under the figure as their bound hands flew to their neck. “Oh god. Channie, why?” you wailed out. You gasped when you see Chan turn his head towards the door, his eyes were hidden behind his fringes that were matte and almost sticking to his forehead.
Whimpering lightly, you stumbled backwards totally ignoring the need to relieve yourself as adrenaline rushed through your system. Quickly getting up to your feet, you sprinted the other way, ducking into the first hallway you passed. Your eyes were clenched shut as you blindly sprinted the other direction. The sound of your erratic heartbeat was thundering loudly in your ears as you heard heavy footsteps behind you.
You screamed when you collided with a hard chest. The impact sending you falling to the ground with you landing on your butt ungracefully.
“Y/N?” the voice called out to you. You felt his hand gently grasping your arm.
“No! Let me go!” you wailed, kicking at your assailant.
“Y/N? Y/N! It’s me, Chan! It’s ok, I got you!” he tried to calm you down by grasping at both your flailing arms.
Your eyes cracked open to the man before you. How did he end up ahead of you? You didn’t even stop to consider that he actually looks different. Unlike the Chan you saw just moments before, this Chan actually had a head injury-- red, raw, puffy and bleeding and his fringe was still styled up and out of his face exposing his forehead and eyes.
However, the murder you had witnessed was still fresh in your mind. You screamed and thrashed within Chan’s grip who was desperately trying to ground you in reality. Your breathing was getting ragged and breathy as panic struck. You watched Chan murder someone, what if he was going to murder you too?
“It’s ok. It’s ok, Y/N. Just breathe!” Chan spoke calmly trying not to prod at your panic attack. “Y/-”
You managed to release your dominant arm from his grip and gave him a firm blow to the jaw with your fist and kicking him off of you, by landing a swift harsh kick to his torso knocking the air out of his lungs and him flying backwards. Chan was coughing roughly from the harsh attack.
“Y/-” he coughed, interrupting himself mid sentence. You got up, jumping over his downed body and sprinted down the hallway.
“Wait! Y/N!” Chan called out to you as he stood up to follow.
“Get away from me!”
“Why? Y/N, wait! Talk to me, please!”
“No! No! No! Leave me alone!” you bawled, your voice cracking after every word. You pulled open the door to the stairway and ran up the stairs. The door swinging shut behind you as Chan’s eyes widen in horror remembering what was there.
“Y/N! DUCK!” Chan screamed out desperately.
“What?” you breathed out.
Thump.
Chan’s heart skipped a beat as he stopped before the door. Suddenly he felt as if he was a fly ensnared in a fly trap. His legs were heavy as if gravity had his ankles in a vice grip.
“Y/N?” Chan whispered out, his voice betrayed him.
“Y/N?” he called out once more weeping.
He willed his legs to move even if they so desperately want to stay rooted to the ground. With trembling hands, he wrapped his fingers around the door handle and slowly pulled the door open. His heart was trembling in his chest as he feared what was going to be revealed behind the door.
“No, no, no,” Chan weeped shaking his head. His face scrunched up as his lips parted to weep and his eyes welled with tears. A strong stench of urine filled his nose. Your body was slumped over the incline of stairs with a leg bent awkwardly in an unnatural direction, a puddle of liquid pooling just below your pelvis. Your eyes were wide staring straight at him as your jaw went slack. Your cheeks were decorated by the recently running tears. From the piano wire suspended in between the wall and the railing, a section was red and dripping as your head rolled, bouncing pathetically down each step like a deflated ball with it stopping by his feet.
“Hey there! Do you want to play ball with me?” you called out with a toothy smile, showing off the gap between your teeth proudly.
Ugly screams ripped through his vocal chords. Chan’s cries of despair, mourning and pure raw emotion kept coming out. His voice reverberated throughout the walls. Chan fell to his knees, his hands grasping at his locks pulling at it as he kept screaming. His eyes were wide as his gaze couldn’t focus on anything other than your lifeless orbs.
Stood atop the stairway as the familiar headless specter in blue. Chan looked at her in horror as tears free fell from his eyes. She outreached her hand again, but this time something was within her small grasp. Chan recognized the faux leather material, the smiling faces of you and Chan was shown from the display pocket of your wallet. In her other hand, the bottomless paper doll that was yours. Chan can feel the weightless paper scrap securely stored in his wallet weighing down his pocket.
“Cool,” Chan smiled. “So how do we do it?”
You held up the paper doll. “We need at least two people in order to do the charm.”
We need at least two people in order to escape.
CHAPTER 1, CHAPTER 2
~~~
CHAPTER 3
FUCK.  Why?  This little meet-up at the café was going great until this whole memory just popped up back inside Max’s head.
               Flashbacks are never good, especially when they involve alcohol, and, oh, was heartbreak mentioned yet?
               She stumbled into the bar, already two bottles of beer downed.  Her thought process may not have been the best that night after what happened.  Already drunk?  Let’s go drink some more!  Yeah!  That’s a great idea!  Nothing bad can come from this!  It’s already been a shitty night!
               Walking up to the bar, almost every pair of eyes were stuck on her.  She clearly wasn’t well.  Should someone go help her?  It’s already late, who cares?  If she got here alive she can probably get out alive.
               Once she finally got to the bar (it felt like it was a marathon from the door of the bar to where all the alcohol was [also known as a five second walk]), she ordered one beer and told the bartender to keep the tab open. It was going to be a long night of self-deprecating thoughts and being heartbroken.
               There it is again.  That word.  Heartbroken.  It sucks, having to experience it.  Heartbreak.  You wish your whole life you never will, but when you ultimately do, you don’t know what to do.  Heartbreak.  It’s not like there’s a right way to handle it.  Some heartbreaks are worse than others.  Especially when you thought the person who broke your heart was going to be The One.  You know, The One who would stay with you until you inevitably end up six feet down?  The One you dreamt of rocking on a chair together on a porch on a farm in the middle of nowhere?  The One who..
               Snapped out of her thoughts, which was probably for the best, she spills a little of her drink on her shirt as she’s nudged by a beautiful woman who accidentally bumped into her trying to sit down at the bar top.  “Oops!  Sorry I bumped into you!” the woman says.
               Max can’t help but stare.  That woman wasn’t even probably as beautiful as she thought she was in that moment.  Max is just super drunk and… and alcohol makes you think pretty people look even prettier, right?  Right.  Let’s go with that.
               “I-I-It’s okay,” she stutters out.  The woman just smiles back at her, then orders her drink from the bartender, essentially turning her back on Max.  That is, until Max offers to buy her a drink.  A truce, she says, because someone accidentally nudging you means you have to buy them a drink.  Sure, Max.  The woman politely declines, but Max insists, and slides the bartender a crisp twenty dollar bill that she didn’t even know she had.  The woman thanks her.  They both smile at each other, Max’s smile a little more crooked than the one in front of her.
               The woman introduces herself to Max.  “I’m Casey.  Nice to meet you.”  A moment passes.  “And thank you again for the drink.  You really didn’t have to.  If anything, I should be the one to buy you a drink,” and she laughs, awkwardly.  Max thinks it’s the most beautiful sound that she’s ever heard come out of anyone’s mouth.  And Max has heard a lot of sounds come from a lot of mouths.  Inappropriate sounds, but still.
               The two get to talking, and after approximately thirteen minutes (Max counts the minutes she’s allowed to talk to the goddess sitting right in front of her), Casey asks Max a question.  “What’s the deal?”  Max just looks at her, drunk and confused.  Casey laughs at her expression.  “Why are you here?  Alone?  Sitting at a bar with a look on your face that makes it look like you’re sad?”  She pauses.  “Are you sad?  Do I need to buy you a drink, Max?” she teases.
               Max takes a deep breath, but not before she says yes to another drink.  “Make sure you’re comfy in your seat.  Tonight… it’s a long story.”  For the very short time she’s known her, Max sees Casey put a serious face on.  Casey listens to every word her newly acquired drunken friend says within the next hour.
               Eight hours later, Max lays naked in her bed, arms wrapped around Casey’s also naked body.
               “How we met?  Oh, wow.  I think we just bumped into each other and one thing led to another.  And now here we are,” Max tells Alex.
               “Really?  That’s it?  That’s the whole story with you two?”  Max just nods.  “Bullshit.  I don’t believe that it was just happenstance.” Alex continues to push, but Max doesn’t budge, so, eventually, she lays off.
               It’s been more than two hours that they’ve first sat down at the café.  Alex checks her phone and realizes as much.  Max just laughs, saying that time flies when you’re having fun.  Alex glares at her playfully.  Max gets up to pay for everything they wound up eating and drinking for the time that they were there.  Alex tugs on her arm, pleading with Max to let her pay.
               “No way.  Today was my idea in the first place.  I basically dragged you out here, so the least I could do is pay for everything.”  Alex just pouts at her, still holding onto Max’s arm.  “I’m paying, Alex.  No exceptions.”  Max’s other arm, that isn’t being held onto for dear life, goes to grab Alex’s hand.  She looks at Alex with an eyebrow raised, and finally, Alex lets up.  “Make sure you have everything you brought before we leave,” she says, before she starts to walk away.
               Alex mocks salute.  “Yes, ma’am.”  Max looks back at her, seemingly warning her to behave.  Alex just giggles and grabs her phone and bag, then follows Max to the cashier.
               The two walk out of the restaurant after Max finished paying, but Alex feels bad that she has to ask a certain question.  “Hey, Max?”  Max looks down towards her, being the taller one of the two.  “This is gonna sound weird, but would you mind driving me back to my place?  I had to drop my car off for the yearly check-up this morning, and so I just took a cab here.  But if you can’t, don’t worry about it because I can just get a cab and go ho-.”  Max holds her hand up to stop Alex.
               “I will drive you home.  It’s absolutely fine, Alex.  I don’t have anything to do today either way, so take up as much of my time as you want.”  This time, it’s Max’s turn to wink.  Alex breathes a sigh of relief that she didn’t know she was holding.
               They walk towards her car, and Max goes to open the passenger door for Alex.  Alex blushes lightly but gets into the car quickly enough that Max isn’t able to see.  As far as she knows.  Max speed walks to the opposite side of the car and gets in.  She goes to pull out of the parking spot but realizes she doesn’t know where she’s going to be driving.  She looks at Alex, dumbfounded.  Alex snickers, and tells her to make a right when she gets out of the parking lot.
               Once they get onto the main road, Max, after some arguing, allows Alex to play her music while she drives.  She watches out of the corner of her eye as her passenger sings as loud as she can without a care in the world.  Soon enough, a duet comes on that they both know, and they sing like there is no tomorrow.
               A half hour passes, and they arrive at Alex’s apartment.  She convinces her driver to come upstairs for one last drink and then, and only then, will she “release” her for the day.  Max follows Alex up a few floors to her place and, after some digging for keys, they both enter.  Alex gets Max a drink, then goes to look for her seemingly missing husband.
               As her friend is walking aimlessly around her own apartment, Max sees a phone light up on the countertop.  Well it’s not my phone.  Is it?  It wasn’t.  I just saw Alex check hers when she went into the bathroom, so it’s not hers.  After contemplating whether she should do it or not, Max walks over to the phone and sees a text message from… a no name?  It’s just a heart emoji.
               Once Alex emerges from the bathroom, Devin strolls out of the bedroom, walking in the direction of Max holding the unclaimed phone.  “You found it!  I searched the whole fucking house for it!” when he realizes it’s his phone.  Max gives it to him, then Devin goes towards his wife and says his hellos.  Alex introduces Max to Devin and vice versa.
               As Devin updates his wife about whatever it is he’s talking about, Max gets to thinking about that text message.  She couldn’t see what it said since the phone wasn’t unlocked, but she knows Alex didn’t text him.  Sure, she was on her phone, but it was only to see if he had texted her.  Not the other way around.  She wouldn’t have texted her husband when they’re in the same building.  She would’ve just screamed for him like any couple would do to each other.
               So, if it wasn’t Alex, who just texted Devin?

Fluffy Heart
@grotesquegabby @post-itpenny Tagging you because some of yours are in this :3 Just something I felt like writing
It seemed like another decent day to hang out at the park.
Children were in school, so the park would be mostly. Sure, there would always be the need to watch out for dogs and such, but it was safe to say...that it was safe.
Mr. Twinkles sat upon the parapet of a bridge, his arms behind him as he moved his little legs in sync. He was enjoying the nice sunlight that fell upon him, especially with the peach he had managed to snag the other day.
He gave a content sigh, then turning to look around the area that was empty. It was so wonderful.
“I’m winning!”
The doll turned to look down from the bridge, right where there was a source of water flowing right beneath it. And right on it, he spotted a boat, a small boat that was practically meant for his size.
“Dad! Dad! I’m winning!”
“Oooh, careful now. Your brother’s about to cross paths.”
“Hey, no fair!”
Mr. Twinkles looked down at the water where he now saw a second boat, this one crossing in front of the first which made it slow down to prevent a small crash. He then looked up to where another one of the bridges was noticing three figures. Two much shorter than the third who no doubt was a parent, the parent of the two kids.
“Ooooh, Rowan, you better be careful there.~”
“I was winning!”
Mr. Twinkles soon squinted at the trio, realizing that one of them had a head of black hair...and two different colored eyes. His face...looked so serious, like he was ready to stab somebody.
Wait…
“Dang it!”
“Aw, sorry about that champ.” the father ruffled the brown haired boy’s hair, chuckling at his pout. “Looks like Basil won this one.”
“Basil!?” Mr. Twinkles stood up from his seat, panic coursing through his tiny body which made him flail around and accidentally make his peach roll over the bridge and into the water.
This then caused a splash that caught the trio’s attention, especially the black haired boy’s.
“Oh shit!” the doll gasped, immediately turning before attempting to run down the bridge to get away before the boy came over, because he knew he’d come. “Oh shit! Oh shit!”
He soon found himself at the bottom of the railing, then giving a shriek of fear once he bumped into a body.
“Oh shit! Oh shit!” he repeated as he fell onto his bottom, now looking up in horror at the boy that loomed over him.
“Basil!”
“Where’d you go?”
Mr. Twinkles gulped up at the boy who glared down at him, coming even closer as footsteps were heard nearby.
“Basil, there you are.”
“Why’d ya run over here?”
In an instantly, the boy reached over and grabbed Mr. Twinkles, right before shoving him into his pocket.
“Basil!”
“Hey, don’t run off like that.” Twinkles heard the adult say. “You got me worried there for a sec.”
There was a silence for a moment, right before the other child gasped.
“You wanna go home already? But we just got here!”
“Rowan, we’ve been here for an hour and a half. I think Basil’s right. Dinner’s probably close to being ready.”
“Aww, but dad!”
“Come on, let’s go.”
Deep inside the pocket of a young boy, Mr. Twinkles’ fears increased by the second.
_____________
“Hey, you guys are back.”
“How was the park?”
“Fun! Dad bought us some ice cream on the way here!”
“Ice cream before dinner?” a woman’s voice asked as something was set down, no doubt a knife. “Atlas!”
“Rowan, I told you to keep it secret.”
“Oops.”
Mr. Twinkles felt as he was still stuck inside the boy’s pocket, too afraid to move. He was too afraid of attempting escape, but also remaining inside the pocket was too scary.
“Go wash your hands guys, we’re almost done with dinner.”
“Kay mom. Come on Basil.”
The doll gave a yelp as he felt the boy run off with the other, continuing to yelp every time he felt his small body bounce.
“Boys! No running!” called a man, one that wasn’t the one at the park.
“Hey Basil, where you going?” the brown haired boy asked, right before a silence followed, and once again speaking. “Oh, okay!”
The doll finally felt a hand slip into the pocket he was in, right before the back of his outfit was grabbed. He was pulled up and out of the pocket, right before he came face to face with none other than Basil.
“H-hey kid!” Mr. Twinkles nervously laughed. “How ya been, huh? Why don’t...why don’t ya let me go?”
He saw as the boy shook his head.
“Come on! You can let ol’ little Twinkles down! What’d I ever do to you?”
Basil’s eyebrows somehow furrowed even deeper, this sending chills down Twinkles’ body.
“Where are you even taking me? Won’t your mom get made for picking up random dolls at the park!?”
Mr. Twinkles soon heard a door open, and he felt as he was brought into a room that had a sort of soothing atmosphere to it. However...Basil’s presence made it seem otherwise.
“Come on, what are you doing!?” the doll exclaimed, Basil soon bringing him farther from his body and dropping him. “Whoa!”
He soon found himself on something soft. Something soft and fluffy.
“Hey, hey, hey! You can’t just leave me here!” Mr. Twinkles shouted up at Basil, especially as the latter walked away and shut the door behind him. “Hey! Please! Kid, please! You can’t just leave me here!”
The doll attempted to comfort himself, gulping as he looked around the area before taking notice of several things.
A rocking horse that was a carousel horse.
A rocking chair.
Pastel colors.
Animals painted on the walls.
A changing station.
“Oh...oh no.” Mr. Twinkles felt a fear go through him again, especially as he realized just where the boy had dropped him into. “It’s a baby room!”
He began to panic once again, especially as he heard a soft yawn behind him.
Ever so slowly, Mr. Twinkles turned around….fearing for his life.
That was when he looked at a face that fluttered its eyes open, now revealing big hazel eyes.
“Oh shit!” Mr. Twinkles cursed once again, especially as the eyes looked down at him. With a smile.
“No, no, no, no, no!” he shook his head, falling backwards before the baby reached over and grabbed his body, pulling it towards the baby as Twinkles shut his eyes, awaiting his new torture.
However, he was surprised when he instead felt...warm.
He opened his eyes in hesitation, hearing a coo from above.
The doll looked up at the baby, realizing that she was snuggling into his small body, her arms gently hugging him.
“I...um…”he looked at her in confusion, feeling her small hand pat his head while still cuddling with his tiny frame. “Huh…”
Mr. Twinkles allowed the treatment to continue, especially as the baby released him and placed him on her bed. He felt a blanket be placed over his body, an extremely soft one that almost made him doze off.
He looked at the infant who smiled down at him, and he smiled back up at her.
“Flora, Willow.~”
He looked to the side as a light shone through a now open door, and stepped in a man that made Twinkles panic a bit.
The baby squealed in delight as she reached her arms out, right before large hands reached inside the crib and took hold of her.
“Your sister’s still sleeping, but mommy has some dinner for you.” Flora’s father cooed at the baby who giggled at him. “Hey, where’d you get this new doll?”
“Hey there.”
“Whoa, what the-” the man blinked down at Mr. Twinkles. “Um, Atlas?”
“Yeah?” the man from before walked into the room, making Twinkles sit up as he looked at the two men and the baby. “Whoa.”
“Hey guys what’s wrong?” now sounded the woman from before, the doll already recognizing who it was.”
“Nothing! We’ll be there in a bit.”
“Just getting the girls.” Atlas said, right before reaching in and grabbing Mr. Twinkles who yelped as he was taken on yet another trip. He then made sure to pick up the other baby who had just started to awaken.
“Smells good mom!”
“Thank you Rowan, but it was your dad who made dinner this time.” Mr. Twinkles could hear the voice that clearly belonged to Ula, his nervousness once again returning. “What’s that Atlas?”
“You remember Mr. Twinkles?” Atlas sat down with Willow resting on his chest, Ula quirking an eyebrow. “Because guess who I found in Flora’s crib?”
“What?” Ula frowned, now seeing as the doll was set down on the dinner table. “How in-”
“Basil brought him!” Rowan exclaimed with a giggle. “He told me he brought him for Flora and Willow!”
“Uh...um…”Mr. Twinkles nervously laughed as all eyes were on him, and he gulped as he especially felt Basil’s eyes. “H-hi…?”
“I see you don’t stop getting into trouble, Mr. Twinkles.” Ula sighed, taking hold of her knife and fork which made Twinkles shake in fear, especially as she sweetly smiled at him. “So how about you stay for dinner?”
“W...What?” the doll stared at Ula in disbelief, not knowing if she was screwing with his head.
“Stay for dinner. I can get you some utensils and plates from the girls’ dolls.” Ula stood up. “Just sit tight.”
“R-really?” he asked again, seeing Ula nod before she made her way out, leaving him with everybody else.
“This is so cool! We have a tiny doll having dinner with us!” Rowan giggled as he stared at Mr. Twinkles in awe, then turning to Atlas and Schrader.
“Um...how, uh….how you guys been?”
“Good.” Schrader replied as he stroked Flora’s hair, seeing how she smiled down at the doll. “Just been with the kids.”
“Haha...nice to know.” Mr. Twinkles looked at every person again, right before hearing another giggle from Rowan.
“You know what Basil told me?” he grinned at Twinkles. “He told me the tiny doll flirted with mom when they were at the mall one time.”
Mr. Twinkles tugged at his hat for a moment, looking around the table once again as he now felt glares from Atlas and Schrader.
This was gonna be a long dinner.

It’s too hard to stay awake.   It’s...too—…...difficult…..   “Y/N?” You’re shaken awake by someone’s hand coming to gently squeeze your shoulder. Immediately, you jolt back to life, looking around to find yourself in the office. Right. “Are you alright?”   Sunyi comes back into focus and you realize Hyuk and Lisa are already looking at you, watching your face as if you have a spider on your forehead and they don’t want to scare it away. “What? Oh, sorry. I was...um...distracted for a second there. What did you say?”   You can tell she doesn’t quite believe you, but the lawyer doesn’t push it either. “A bunch of us are going to dinner tonight. We were wondering if you wanted to join us?”   “Dinner?” This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. It’s what you’ve always wanted. To finally be a part of the group, catch late night drinks or eat food, to actually befriend these people beyond the workplace setting. “I would love to….but...tonight?”   Of all nights. Why tonight?   “You can’t make it?”   “I...already have plans.” It hurts so bad — it’s like you’re a kid who’s been waiting for your birthday for months and on the day of, it turns out you can’t even attend your own party because of a dentist appointment.   “Aw.” Hyuk hangs his head and pouts, eyes flickering down the expanse of your body quicker than you can even register. “What a shame, thought I’d be able to finally get to know you.”   “I’m sorry. I should’ve known.”   Maybe it looks like you’re about to burst into tears, because then Sunyi smiles softly. “No, it’s okay. How could you have known? There’ll be plenty of other times. How about lunch tomorrow?”   “Lunch?” There’s a tone of hope and eagerness in your voice and you know you’re being pretty childish and pathetic, but you’re too exhausted to put on a more professional façade. “That works for me. I’ll clear up my schedule.”   “Alright.” Sunyi grins. “Tomorrow, a bunch of us can gather up for lunch.”   You smile, nodding your head. “Sounds good.”   A handful of people from the office begin to file out at five o’clock. You bid them a goodbye and goodnight. But someone else lingers behind and she seems to hesitate. “Hey, Y/N.” Lisa stands to the side and you wonder if anything’s wrong — ironic considering her next question is addressed to you. “Are you okay?”   “Yeah, I’m fine,” you reassure her with your lips upturned.   The receptionist nods. “Okay. Goodnight then.”   “Bye.” You watch as she catches up with the group, slightly touched that she shows concern for your well-being. Though, the question lingers in your head — ARE you okay? If you’re completely frank with yourself, you’re not sure.   On the way home, you accidentally fall asleep on the subway. Your head bobs up and down and ends up on the shoulder of a granny and you apologize profusely, nearly hurting your neck when you try to use your own shoulder as support. Then once you make it home, you fall on the couch to take a two hour nap. A symphony of blaring alarms is what you wake up to. After, you force yourself to get up, you wash your face, eat something quick, have a cup of coffee…   Then….   “Hello!” You twist around to face the backseat with a bright smile. “Where are you off to tonight?”   “The Kelpers Club on seventh avenue,” one of the three guys say and you nod, pulling off the curb and into the road.   “Oh, fuck!” The dude from the left seat startles you, but when you glance at the rear-view mirror, thankfully he’s not talking to you. He’s staring at the screen of his phone and his friends are glancing over. “Look what Tiffany just sent me.”   “Holy shit!” They reach over to punch the guy in the arm, laughing and grinning. They’re a rowdy and obnoxious bunch, but you try your best to keep focus on the road ahead of you. “Dude, you need to send me that. I could probably rub three or four out with that hot pic.”   They each have a water bottle with them, taking sips every so often and by the smell of their breaths that waft over to ruin your breathing space, you’re almost certain that it isn’t water they have in there. “Did you really tap that last night?”   “Yeah.” He smirks. “She keeps on texting me though. It’s so fucking annoying. Clingy bitch. It’s no wonder her boyfriend of four years cheated on her with her best friend. And she thinks we’re an exclusive item just cause I took her out once. What a joke. She’s desperate and a mess.”   Your left eye twitches and you run the yellow light that you normally would’ve slowed down at. The dude in the center laughs. “But c’mon, how is she? How does she take it?”   The other lets out a snort and rolls his shoulder. “You wouldn’t believe it if I told you. She’s a freak. She wanted me to slap and spank her. The skank choked on me like five times and even took it in the ass.”   “Holy shit!” They’re in an uproar, piercing sound of their chortles deafening to your ears. They punch him again, saying things like he’s a lucky bastard and what they would give to be in that position. But what’s the absolutely last straw for you is— “You could probably get it in if you want. I bet she’d like taking two or three cocks at once too. Tiffany is a massive slut.”   They roar and howl like animals in heat and one of them opens their mouth to add a comment, but you floor the gas on an empty street and their bodies lurch forward. “Do you want me to change the radio?” you interrupt before anything else can be said and before your blood pressure spikes more than it has.   “No. It’s fine.” They catch themselves when you stop at a red light.   “Do you want me to turn on the heating or air conditioning?”   “We’re fine,” one of them grunts out in annoyance. You ignore him and slam off the air conditioning, rolling all the windows up to seal shut and hitting the heating button. It begins to blast, though you don’t mind if you get too warm. It’s much too rewarding to look at the rear-view mirror and see all three guys squished up against each other, extremely hot and uncomfortable, hair becoming wet with sweat. You hope their vodka gets too warm and stale to drink.   “I’m having trouble finding the destination,” you lie without blinking twice. You loop around and around the blocks, purposely driving over the manholes at full speed and enjoying how the car launches slightly at every bump and they hit their heads on the roof of the small vehicle.   “It’s the left!”   “Left or right?” You feign innocence and stupidity as if you don’t understand basic directions. “Which one?!”   “Left!” He shouts.   You twist your wrist roughly, swerving the steering wheel to the right. “Oops!”   “What the hell?!” They’re in disbelief and you kill fifteen minutes, going all over the blocks and taking wrong turns, somehow even ending in the suburban area. When you’re satisfied with messing with them, you pull up on the curb...in the middle of nowhere.   “Whelp, we’re here.” You turn around with a blazing smile and their jaws are dropped, brows furrowed, finding the situation completely absurd. “It’s just down the block.” More like down thirty blocks. “The traffic is too much to get close. Sorry ‘bout that.”   “There’s no traffic,” one of them says, but you ignore them and they pull out their wallets to split the fare. They get out one by one with deep scowls, slamming the car doors shut, hard enough to damage your precious taxi. Before closing the last door, one of them pops their head through and mutters something you hear loud and clear, “dumb bitch.”   You end up driving directly into a mud puddle, splashing them in the brown slush and making it look like they collectively shat in their pants. You cackle as you pull off into the street again.   They didn’t even tip you.   “Hello. Where are you off to tonight?”   “The airport, please.”   Certainly.”   It’s not like you’re passionate about taxi driving. You specifically sought out the HR position to leave this behind, to actually chase after what you want. But here you are, crawling back to your old career and balancing between your day and night job.   Even though Hoseok declared a truce between the two of you, you still can’t get rid of the feeling that he might fire you one day. You wouldn’t know what to do if one day you’re seated on the other side of the conference table with Jimin and Hoseok across from you, delivering the news that you’re not needed anymore. You wouldn’t know what to do if you’re thrown off on the street without a job. You wouldn’t be able to pay your bills. You wouldn’t be able to pay for food.   More importantly, you would have to move back with your mom.   The nightmare haunts you.   And you still have the lease on the cab. It’s been sitting in your apartment parking spot — might as well use it, right? At the end of the night, you get another wad of cash that goes directly into your savings. Doing this is better than sitting at home and worrying about your future, mindlessly watching television and surfing the internet, walking around, and….sleeping.   A little bit of sleep sacrificed isn’t a big deal.   Your eight-hours of sleep is merely split up throughout the day — naps taken on the subway to and from the firm, a two hour slumber before taking the taxi night-shift, another four hours afterwards before heading to the office. Occasionally, you might doze off in your office too, but no one really notices when you turn your chair towards the window and it seems like you’re staring out at the cityline.   Thankfully, Hoseok hasn’t noticed either.   “Excuse me?” The girl in the backseat stirs awake from her drowsiness, looking out the window. “I think we’re here.”   “Oh, sorry. I was thinking about someone—......I mean something. I was thinking about something.” You scramble with a laugh, parking the car and getting out to help with the passenger’s luggage in the trunk. She doesn’t seem that upset with you, even smiling and thanking you for the ride, tipping you a decent five dollars.   Things aren’t too bad.   “Aren’t you driving too slow?” A middle age woman impatiently quacks in the backseat of your car, pushing herself up closer to you. “Can’t you go faster?”   “Uh...I’ll try my best.”   Really, things aren’t too horrible.   ….   It could be worse.   //   The only thing you’re looking forward to is lunch. When you wake up in the morning, you’re already buzzing with excitement. As pathetic as it is, you can’t remember the last time you shared a meal with other people. If things go well, then people in the office will really begin to get comfortable with you and maybe you’ll have a few workplace friends that will become your friends out of work too. You’re excited, and you hope it doesn’t show too much.   “Hey, ready for lunch today?” Sunyi has popped into your office first thing in the morning with a smile. “You didn’t forget, did you?”   “Of course I didn’t,” you laugh.   “Good. We’re going down the block to that italian restaurant. They have a really good lunch menu, cheesesteak and sandwiches and soups too.”   “That sounds great,” your cheeks are almost bursting with your smile. “Who’s coming along with us?”   “You and I obviously,” she jests in a light tone. “And also Seulgi, Namjoon, Hoseok and unfortunately, the leech freeloader Min Yoongi. Trust me, I didn’t want him to join, but he self invited himself like the asshole that he is. He invited himself and Hoseok. I knew I shouldn’t have talked about it with Seulgi when we were all in the elevator earlier...”   You stifle back a laugh. “That’s completely fine.”   “Alright, see you later then.” The woman sighs and checks her phone briefly. “Gotta get some work done before we run on out.”   Your head nods once and she’s on her way.   //   For the first hour, you focus on running through more applications and looking for a suitable paralegal. There still hasn’t been anyone hired to fill Sebin’s position, but there’s not too big of a rush. Hoseok would rather you take your time to go through and choose carefully, rather than picking someone right off the bat. Plus, he’s also told you that things are actually running fairly well with the three paralegals already on the team, smoother than he expected.   You make a few phone calls, setting up interview dates and times. But then someone stops by your office. “Hey,” Namjoon greets you and before you can ask if he needs any help, he beats you to the punch. “I just wanted to let you know that I’m helping Jimin with mediation. The client re-booked it at twelve thirty, so I don’t think I can go later.”   “No, it’s okay. Work takes priority anyways,” you wave him off and he smiles, promising he’ll make time some other day for lunch. Not another twenty minutes pass by before you find yet another person standing at your doorway, balancing a huge mountain of files. “Are you alright?”   “I don’t know,” Seulgi admits in all honesty and looks like she’s on the verge of tears. “I just remembered I forgot to submit the affidavits and orders yesterday that were given to me by Jungkook and I think Hoseok’s going to fire the both of us if it’s not in submission. I’m helping him and we both have to run down there and I don’t know how long it’s going to take or if it’s even possible at this point—”   “Seulgi,” you call her name calmly to reassure the girl. “It’s okay.”   “I’m so, so sorry. Can I ask for a rain check?”   “Of course you can. I’m always free.”   By eleven o’clock, a full hour before the designated time, there’s another person at your door. This time, it’s a shorter man with full cheeks and messy black hair. He rubs at his sleepy eyes, barely able to keep them open. But when he looks at you and you look at him, it’s like a telepathic message is sent. “Can’t make it?”   “Yeah,” Min Yoongi responds in a husky tone as if he just got up from a nap, but plans to take another.   “It’s okay.”   But is it? — Really. — Is this okay?   There’s nothing you can really do even if all your insides are crying. What? Should you just drop to the ground and start crying? You’re going to need at least five shots before you throw a temper tantrum at your workplace. Things get busy, life gets busy, people get busy. You’re more than understanding and it’s just lunch. There will be plenty more opportunities to come. So…   “It’s fine,” you reassure the lawyer in front of you who has her bottom lip quivering and her brows furrowed deep enough you’re certain that wrinkles will permanently mar her skin.   “I’m so, so sorry. I know you were looking forward to this. I just had no idea that my schedule was already booked up with a client. I….I could change it and we can still go out—”   “Don’t be ridiculous.” You laugh, thankful that she’s worried this much over it. At least it’s better than the times in High School where people invited you out and didn’t even show up because ‘it’s just a prank, bro’. Your hand goes to gently squeeze Sunyi’s shoulder, channeling your maternal voice that doesn’t really exist to soothe her. “We can do this some other day. I’m gonna be around for a long time, so there will be plenty more opportunities. Just focus on work since that’s what you’re here to do anyways. It’s really not that big of a deal.”   “Okay, thank you,” Sunyi breathes a long sigh of relief, happy that you didn’t take the unfortunate circumstances to heart. Little does she know just how disappointed you are.   Reminds you of that time your mom promised you to go to Disneyland and you ended up Chuck E. Cheese instead.   //   At twelve o’clock sharp, Hoseok appears at your door with his phone in hand. You stare at him, waiting for him to say something as he stares at the screen and his thumbs move, probably texting someone important. It’s an awkward thirty seconds that feel like a whole two minutes before he puts down the device and looks at you. He frowns and takes a peek out your door.   “Is there no one else?”   “No.” You scratch the back of your neck before putting your palms in your lap. “Everyone is busy.” It’s only you and him. You’re not sure how you feel about that; maybe partly tense and apprehensive while the other part doesn’t mind so much.   “Okay.” Hoseok shrugs nonchalantly, hands in his coat pockets. “There’s no point in going then.”   “Oh...yeah…” You stand up awkwardly, trying to shuffle past him. Your stomach makes a noise that doesn’t sound too healthy and you hope he can’t hear it. “I’ll uh...I’ll just grab something from the kitchen then.”   “Wait.” He stops you, grabbing your wrist before you can run off. When he realizes he’s touched you without permission, he lets go right away, mumbling some kind of apology before you tell him it’s fine.   “You didn’t bring anything with you?” He asks and you don’t answer. Jung Hoseok must read your expression like an open book because then he smiles slightly. “Okay, nevermind, let’s go.”   “Pardon?”   “Just the two of us,” he says and walks off, making you stumble behind him and try to match his wide, fast strides. The lawyer glances over his shoulder towards you. “You don’t mind right?”   “I...I don’t mind.” Except a one-on-one lunch with your boss is not what you envisioned.   Instead of the fancy italian cafe, you follow his lead into a hole-in-the-wall. It’s a warm and cozy atmosphere, with two or three other tables full. Interestingly enough, they serve comfort food and the menu is deprived of a variety of different cultures. You end making an order of porridge with a side of mac and cheese and he orders curry with cold noodles.   It’s served quickly and all at the same time, so you don’t hesitate to dig in.   The only problem is when silence settles down, you’re not sure what to say. You’re not even sure where to look. Glancing up and locking your eyes with his only makes it more excruciatingly awkward.   “You know, I already told you that you don’t have to tiptoe around me,” Hoseok mutters and takes a large bite, looking up at you with his arm propped up on the table, holding a spoon and completely amused as he gawks at you.   “What?”   “You’re always stiff and nervous around me. But I won’t bite your head off…….probably.”   “I’m not nervous,” you defend yourself even when it’s a massive lie.   Hoseok laughs and almost chokes on his food. “Yeah, you are. Your eyes keep shifting and I can see that you’re beginning to sweat. You know…” He leans closer like he’s about to exchange a secret. “...makes it seem like you did something wrong or you’re a criminal. Last I checked, I’m not a criminal attorney, so I’m not sure I can help you if you did something illegal.”   You take a spoonful of the porridge, letting the taste linger on your tongue for a second before you stuff your cheek to chew a bit and swallow it down. “The only illegal thing I’ve one is steal someone’s wifi and probably jaywalking.”   “Wait, I should record this confession for evidence,” he teases with a mischievous glint in his eyes and a massive grin. You wonder if the other people at this office know this side of him. “These are very serious crimes. How many times have you jaywalked and who’s wifi have you stolen?”   “Oh please.” You roll your eyes. “You act like you haven’t done anything ‘illegal’ either.”   He scoffs at how you use air quotations with your fingers, also slightly offended. “Just letting you know, I live a very morally upright life. I don’t break the law. I work for the law. In fact, I am the law.”   “Yeah, right.” You click your tongue in feigned annoyance, muffling back some laughter. “What about that time you were drunk and passed out in front of the library? Made me have to drag you back. That’s public intoxication.”   “I did what?”   Your eyes go wide. Right. He doesn’t remember. You might’ve gotten too carried away, too caught up when he’s sitting right across from you, and it’s only you and him. But there’s no going back now, you might as well mess with him. “Or that time you shoplifted an entire refrigerator. And that time you started a pimp business to pay off your loans. Those were the days, right, Hoseok?”   “No way.” He leans back and crosses his arms, trying to repress his laughter that threatens to spill over. “I would never. That’s something I can’t believe. You need to come up with more reasonable lies than that, Y/N.”   Your food is left abandoned when you’re trying hard not to break into hysterical laughter. “So you believe how you wanted to piss in a library book, but ended up passing out in front of the library instead?”   There’s a long held silence. “That…..I can believe.”   A cheeky grin is plastered on your face, making your jaw ache a bit and you take a few more bites before your pupils flicker up. “Thanks, by the way. Just thought I’d say that.”   “For what?” He eats, chewing and swallowing, taking a sip of his water in the process.   “This. I mean...you didn’t have to come along with me.”   “You make it sound like I’m going to treat you to this.” The lawyer points a fork towards you and narrows his eyes while the corner of his mouth twitches oh so slightly. “Is that your tactic? You think I’m going to pay for your meal?”   “No!” You can’t help your giggles. “That’s not what I’m trying to say!”   “I can see right through you.” He has a playful smile and eyes you. The glare is less sharp and pointed, lacking real animosity or frustration. It’s much cuter and the stark contrast from him outside and joking around to his professionalism in the office nearly gives you whiplash.   “I saw your photo on the firm’s website.” It’s a little out of nowhere, but the thought pops into your head as you stare at the man. “And no offence, but you look way better in real life. You’re not photogenic at all.”   “Is that an insult?” Jung Hoseok gasps theatrically and you wonder why he didn’t just major in drama and become a comedic actor. He seems to have a knack for it.   “It’s not!”   “Or are you trying to say I’m handsome?” He puts down his utensil and nods. “Oh, I see. You don’t want me to pay for your meal. Thinking big picture, huh? You’re trying to say I’m a lot more handsome in real life because you want a raise, don’t you?!”   “I never said that!” At this point, the two of you are so loud that a few patrons are looking over, but none of you notice. He twists your words so much, it’s ridiculous and you’re left baffled and laughing. Maybe it was right for him to be a lawyer after all.   “You think I wouldn’t see your strategy.” He scrapes his bowl, eating everything that’s left while mischievously shaking his head in feigned disapproval. “Trying to boost my ego for a raise. How low is that. But what’s even more unbelievable is that it’s working. Keep going.”   You laugh again, this time refusing to utter even one syllable or make a sound. Hoseok finishes eating in the meanwhile and you pierce the carrots on your plate, putting it on his clean one. He looks up at you with brows raised. “You hate carrots? I never thought you’d be a picky eater.”   “No, I don’t hate it,” you muse. “You like it, don’t you?”   If it’s possible, his brows raise even higher. “How did you know?”   You shrug, looking away from him. “Let’s just say, I really want that raise.”   “Pft.” He pierces the carrot with the fork, inhaling it all at once and chews thoughtfully. “You better not be stalking me.”   “I won’t need to if I get a little somethin’-somethin’.” You rub your fingers on one hand together, indicating a thick wad of cash and he grins, eating the carrot happily.   A few months ago, if someone told you that one day you’d be sitting across from Hoseok and actually conversing and even laughing like normal adults, you would’ve probably floored the gas pedal of your taxi to get away in fear of that person being absolutely insane.   You expected to have lunch with coworkers and perhaps establish friendships out of the workplace. You definitely didn’t think you’d end up rekindling some kind of ancient relationship with your boss. But you don’t mind at all. It’s just more than what you bargained for in the best way possible.
