Hey guys would you like some angst with a happy ending?
Imagine you came to your fave's world yourself through willpower or some magical way, defying all odds just to be together. Your fave is the happiest they've ever been with you at their side, the love of their life, or their best friend/ family they've always dreamed of having.
After years of being separated by a screen, you're finally together, finally able to hold eachother in your arms. Nothing could be better than this...
But one day, unaware of your existence, the creators of your f/o's source start writing in a character that fulfills your exact role. (Love interest, best friend character, family member)
Day by day. Your form begins to fade away. You begin to physically disappear a little bit each passing day the reveal of the character being written in grows closer. Your fave can only watch in horror as you're slowly taken away from them again right before their eyes. After all the work you've done to be together...
Your heart grows heavy. Each passing day you see how distraught they are. For some reason, a little voice in the back of your head tells you you shouldn't be there, that they deserve better than you. Maybe this newly introduced character will be better for them than you in the end. Maybe it's what they deserve, someone who belongs here.
The very last day comes.
You're just a flicker of an existence, and your fave can take it no more. Seeing them break down, you run off to another room and start to cry, thinking that you could've saved them all this hurt if you never came here, if you never showed up in the first place and just let this new character take your place.
You can barely see through the tears in your eyes as a pair of arms wraps around you, clinging to you for dear life, their body wracked with sobs of it's own. Your fave declares their love for you, begging whatever force is out there to let you stay, proclaiming you're the only one they'll ever love no matter what's created for them. You begin to fade away in their arms.
A figure stands a small distance away from the pair of you. It's the new character.
Kind hands are placed on either of your shoulders, grip unwavering.
"I could never break up something so true, something so pure and destined. Please don't worry."
Everything moves in slow motion. Your form flickers, and then solidifies as your fave holds you. You look up at the new character in disbelief. They've given up their spot for you.
Your fave clings to you for dear life, pulling you closer as if they haven't seen you in a thousand years. You hold them and wipe away their tears.
"I thought I was going to lose you again."
They sob. You pull them into a tight embrace. Nothing will ever come between the two of you. The new character looks on with a gentle smile.
All is right with the world. You and your fave are meant to be together. No force in this universe or the next will ever take that away.

Prompt 131
Okay, so first of all Dan would like to say it’s not his fault. Ellie was the one to bring some unknown object into the speeder and Jazz was the one driving. Or had Sam been driving- didn’t matter! It wasn’t his fault, he wasn’t the one shooting at them, he wasn’t the one to break whatever, he was not the one to open a stupid portal, and so it wasn’t his fault!
So why is he now like, five years old, and why is the speeder crashed in some sort of corn field. Why is everyone- except for Jazz whose now like six- also like three at most?! And- oh fuck the door just opened and… okay that’s a kid. Like, nine at most.
A kid and an adult, who he hadn’t noticed at first so again, it’s not his fault if he hissed at them and tried to hide his not-siblings behind him. It’s also not fair they’re apparently stuck to ghost speak for who knows how long, but at least they can understand the people.
“Martha, get some blankets, it’s happened again!”

Some outcomes of Critical Role episode 91 (that happened either because of or completely separate from the big thing)
SPOILERS!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Starting with the ones not due to FCG's sacrifice:
Liliana has some level of trust and attempts at redemption with her daughter (those 31's on deception and persuasion Laura you legend!), which means a major player (and VESSEL?? tf was that about) who was formerly (and maybe kind of still) on Ludinus's side is swapping over
Ashton and Fearne are about to be exhausted from being Titans (Ashton much sooner since they powered up in ep. 90)
Zathuda is both proud and angry towards Fearne which is both terrifying and a bit heartwarming(?)
Nana (I think/hope it was her bending fate) was able to help Team Infiltration escape the Weavemind after Orym reached out
Now for the other outcomes due to FCG's sacrifice:
Orym's deal with Nana should be void since the group cannot return as they were (VM Spoiler Note: Liam's PC was finally saved from a deal leading to a life of service by Sam's PC after he wasn't able to in C1)
Chetney is ALIVE! I'm counting this as part of the sacrifice bc due to weird leveling circumstances Sam sacrificed his one brand-new 7th-level spell slot to take Revivify, which is a major thing to give up
Otohan is DEAD! GONE! That is a MAJOR player off the board and another one of Ludinus's high-ranking members off the board
FCG is dead, seemingly unrevivable based on how Matt phrased it (asking to make sure Sam understood what it meant). That will have MAJOR implications going forward.
On a D&D technical level, there is no primary healer meaning that Fearne has to take some healing spells or the party can't heal at all (pretty sure they used up all their potions during that fight).
On a character level, this is going to be devastating. Ashton, who started this whole adventure with FCG and has been saying for a LONG time that FCG was going to get themself killed, was unconscious when FCG made the ultimate sacrifice. Sending works, which means when they get back to Exandria, Imogen will probably be the one to let FRIDA know what happened.
On a slightly lighter note, I feel like Travis is going to shine next week. It's been said before and I'll say it again, Chetney is the heart of Bells Hells. He knows how to be there for this family and I have a feeling that will come to the forefront as we see the aftermath
I'm sure there are more outcomes, but these are the ones on my mind after barely sleeping last night following that episode. Sam knows how to play this game well and cuts straight to the heart while doing so. It was masterfully played and while completely devastating to watch, was also incredibly heroic and beautiful.
Good game, great players, amazing DM, and of course thank you Fresh Cut Grass for being a Faithful Care-Giver until the end
