A guilty pleasure of mine are those two sole fics on AO3 that delve into what if Ginger was just really fucked up I have a love-hate relationship with horror to the point I’m morbidly curious about it and!!!! I’m so fascinated with the fact Ginger’s bloodline HAS eaten people. Sure her mother might’ve not, but what about, like, two generations before her?? What causes that craving? Was it just expected of them based on their story? Ginger in canon has a Raven type beat where she’s trying to break those stereotypes to be perceived in a more positive light, but why has the role of the Candy Witch persisted so long? Is it an active choice or something that you are destined to do? What makes Ginger exempt from the rule? Ginger being a c@nnibal is just such a dark viewing on the destiny system and how it will catch up to you, whether you’re ready for it or not.

ALSO ALSO I saw this Headcanon where the story that her mother never did anything wrong was a lie Ginger told herself to make herself feel better, especially bc she was distancing herself already from her family by changing her last name to Breadhouse.

Is this comic completely silly, a little overly dramatized, and not my best work?? Yes. Did I cut a few corners and put a little less effort into making everything highly detailed than I would in a full illustration due to time restrictions and wrist pain?? Also yes. Was it worth making so I can practice making comics and drop some random thoughts onto a piece of digital paper?? Absolutely yes.

This was kind of based on a loose idea that I have that Pirates SMP and Hermitcraft Season 9 (as it's going right now) are different universes?? Like, that in the Pirates SMP universe the Hermits all got scattered so far from each other after Season 8 and Moon Big that they just... didn't start a Season 9??? And kind of just went on whatever adventures life took them on in whatever universes they ended up in???? Idk it's a kind of silly headcanon and probably completely wrong but I don't care and it doesn't have to be right or anything cuz I enjoyed making this and that's the point of this. So, silly headcanons aside, this was fun to make.

How I (roughly) imagine this scale:

1- I see myself as a faster reader than the average person. I can breeze through a text quickly and still understand almost all of it

2- I read at a "normal" speed. I need to pace myself but can consistently read and comprehend a text in a reasonable time frame

3- I see myself as a slower reader than other people. It takes me a long time to get through a text and if I try to go too fast I won't understand it

Obviously this can vary by your mood, the type of text, etc. and this is a very imprecise scale with some overlap, I'm just casually curious!!

#i consider myself a sloooowwww reader #i dont really track it when reading for pleasure #but when im reading something dense like a political theory text i've realized i can only read 6 or 7 pages an hour (give or take) #in order for me to feel like im actually Getting It i need to stop and annotate while i read and also frequently re-read certain passages #this is on my mind because im reading a book for my thesis prepping for the semester and it is a slog for me #it's very interesting but i have to break it up into 45-60 minute chunks with breaks or else i'll go insane because of how long it takes me #it took me 4.5 hours to read 30 pages im not sure that's normal hahahahaaaaa #when i read for pleasure it's still slow i just dont have a stat lol
