kinda freaking out about my second year review meeting tomorrow because how does one explain to other professional academics that yeah I had a weird Autumn because I'm so burnt out that I'm obsessed with two fictional gay celestial beings I'm projecting all my queer feels onto and whose love made me feel things again after a year of depressed disassociation and if it was even only 90 years ago someone would certainly have sent me to the seaside to recover from this blatant nervous breakdown I'm only just NOW starting to recover from by reading endless fanfic and making art* but it's ok!!! you should definitely still give me tenure!!! I promise this only happens every few years** I'm a functional adult I promise!!!*** lolsob!!!

*which to be clear, is not my field

**it's true! usually I don't have as strong of a connection to some sort of community as I do via this fandom though I just muddle through and try to not fall entirely to pieces

*** I am so so supported by the other Ostensibly Adults in this fandom who also are Going Through It, you young ones are also wonderful though ok!! But there's so much shame associated with being a 40 year old who cried for 2 weeks about a TV show kiss between my low key blorbos of 20 years which seeing others working through has helped smash up a bit

I really hate the make a discussion post and respond to two of your classmates assignment cause like I have no idea what I’m doing so i basically dissociate for 30 minutes and tune back in to a mediocre post with some insane ramblings in the middle and then my classmates have to respond to that somehow? and then i have to go over to their slightly less insane posts and figure out how to be like wow great thoughts in enough words that my professor will give me a good grade
