Toasty suppressed a smirk as they looked down at you. Just as he thought, you were progressing from vexed to fuming after his remark.

"I knew you were going to lord this over me."

"It's been cloudy all day!"

"Yesterday was cloudy too!" You turned your head away with a simmering pout. "...And I didn't want to carry the umbrella."

Toasty burst into laughter– he couldn't help it, you're always so cute when you're grumpy like this– and gestured back to the bakery cafe you'd just left. "We can always head back in and nurse a coffee for a little while."

"You just said you were stuffed *and* your doctor said to lay off the caffeine."

"I didn't say I'd drink it. A couple of polite sips, at most."

"That's too reasonable. How about I make a run for the car and pick you up at the curb?"

"I think I'd be better equipped for that."

"Because you're so tall you'll make it there in three steps?"

"No, because I have a hoodie on." Toasty flipped up said hoodie, tucking their hair inside for good measure.

"I'm not gonna make the birthday boy run out in the rain!"

"Oh, come on! What's with the sudden chivalry?" A blush burned across their cheeks.

"It's just basic birthday decency. I'll be okay, honest. We'll just turn on the heat to dry me off."

He glanced out at the parking lot, then back at you, a softer grin spreading across his face. "What if the birthday boy wants to go…together?"

"Sure, and we could share your hoodie as we run."

Your quip has no bite, and Toasty calls you out on it by stretching the top of the hoodie over your head. "You'll have to stay close, then."

You made it all of two steps before getting completely soaked, laughing and play-shoving each other until you reached the car. You both leaned against the car doors, catching your breath and giggling in equal measure, until the damp and the cold finally won your full attention.

Toasty fished for his keys in his pockets, still holding the lip of the hoodie out. You watched his still-flushed face shift in concentration; it was hard not to smile seeing his furrowed brow and bit lip, framed with soaked locks of hair. The warmth of the moment almost canceled out the cold of the rain– almost.

"Hey. Hold on."

"Huh?"

You took hold of the lip of the hoodie, yanking it further out– and him closer to you. Toasty yelped, nearly crashing into you and dropping the car keys.

"Y–you'll stretch out my hoodie!"

"Oh, nooo."

"What happened to birthday decency?" Toasty avoided your eyes, their blush deepening.

"Superseded by the first birthday rule."

"The what?"

You drew closer. "Well, second birthday rule. The first is that the birthday boy gets to do whatever they want."

"Then the second?"

"That the birthday boy deserves a kiss."

You closed the distance, and Toasty melted.

Perisex allies: stop this shit

Came across this infographic during some google image searching and I'm still kind of a state of despair about it because it's not just offensively wrong about what intersex is, it was used to teach university students about queer issues:

Alt text: LGBTQIA+ are defined one by one. Intersex is defined erroneously as "These are people who were born with genital organs of both sexes (male and female). It is a genetic condition."

It's one thing for your rando perisex person to be getting this wrong on social media. It's another thing entirely when it's professionals getting this wrong in an educational setting. 😩 And that this infographic appears in a peer-reviewed publication. 😩

It's even worse to know the students that were taught with this infographic were medical students, who will be the ones traumatizing intersex people for decades to come 😩

It's so wrong in so many different ways:

Intersex is not limited to people with genital differences. Most intersex people have intersex variations that are not apparent at birth, with puberty being the most common time of life for variations to present. Many people find out in adulthood having no outward physical differences.

Of the intersex people with genital differences, they do not have two sets of genitals. Most genital differences are still recognizably female or male (e.g. spadias), and those who have ambiguous genitals have one set.

Intersex is not "male parts + female parts" or even "intermediate male/female parts", it is an umbrella term for anybody whose primary/secondary sex characteristics don't line up with what is expected for male and female bodies. Some intersex variations make women look more feminine, or make men look more masculine.

Defining intersex by genital differences doesn't just exclude most intersex people, it also sets the tone that we are defined by our genitals. To be publicly intersex is to have non-stop DMs about your genitals. This sort of framing sets up openly intersex people for invasive questions and harassment, and it keeps large numbers of intersex people from coming out.

Many intersex variations do not have a known genetic basis. Many intersex variations are caused by exposure to certain hormonal levels in the womb. Certain medications when taken during pregnancy can trigger intersex variations.

While bodily variation is necessary for being intersex, the social experience of stigma, discrimination, isolation, hyper-medicalization, and hyper-sexualization are all just as much a part of being intersex.

📣 Perisex allies: this is shit you can stop. When you see other perisex people parrot this sort of misinformation, correct them. Direct them to look up resources written by actually intersex people.

Somehow they took longer than PK's reference did. Here's to hoping I don't change their design again so I don't have make a 4th reference sheet for them 🥂

I forgot to add the fact that they start growing leaves and flowers in their fur after they recover and aren't stressed 24/7 onto the ref, AH WELL- I might just make a version for when they are older and not a complete wreck

Some notes;

They now have pernament wings that are usually tucked under an elytra, identical to Pale King's (monarch) wings but black and white instead. My friends also voted the pubic fur out ✌️😔 probably for the better, I couldn't come up with a way to NOT make it look awkward as hell.

Their adolescent stage is around 13-14 years of age and around Pale King's height, outgrowing him ever so slightly.

The hatchling stage is EXTRA potato shaped and EXTRA fluffy now, instead of the fur being mostly on the back of their neck and lower back they have a full mane that runs down their back, much like their dad. The hatchling and child stages also have much dimmer light, it gets brighter with age.

But most important addition; they have ✨️HEELS✨️

Not sure if the white bits behind the ridges on their feet and forearms wi stay but they are here for now, I'll see how I feel about them as I draw them

They mostly take after their father in all but height but they do have some traits from their mother, which will be more obvious once I will make a proper reference for her

"Okay, so we've got Starry Night, Tiny Plants, or the Tranquil Garden."

Toaster pored over the boxes, turning one over to read the back. "What if we worked on Tiny Plants together?"

"Oh, sure! Dump it out and we'll get started."

He hummed in contentment as he ran a nail under the box flap, dutifully pouring bags of pieces out onto the mat you'd set up. The excitement of shopping for kits to work on earlier had settled into a calmer vibe, helped in part by your joint "chill times" playlist in the background.

"Wait, is this track from–"

"Yeah! I added it after we played last night. Do you like it?"

"Yeah. I do." Toasty smiled. "We'll have to do it again sometime, find more playlist candidates."

"I'd like that." You smiled back, passing over a bag of pieces.

The two of you made quick work of the sets, mostly in a comfortable silence with quiet tunes and the snapping of pieces as your backdrop. A couple times Toasty took your hand as you reached for a piece, rubbing his thumb over its back before letting it go. You both showed off your finished plants with cheesy grins, building your small plastic garden, until you stuffed the last empty bag back in the box and sat back to admire your work together.

"They came out pretty good! I think I like the little Venus flytrap the best."

"I like the one with the weird red leaves, the uh–" Toasty squinted, "red sundew? That one. It's fun to run your finger over 'em."

"Fair enough." You sighed, resting against Toasty's side as you leaned your head on their shoulder. "We should put them around the house."

"Hmm. We should." Toaster absentmindedly reached for your hand, holding it for longer now, and gave it a gentle squeeze. You squeezed back and he leaned his head on yours with a soft huff. Your breathing slowed, and synced with his.

The moment held. The music played. The space around you felt just a little more like home.

no bc it actually like the revivebook makes me kind of crazy like all we know for the longest time is that during pogtopia vs. manberg schlatt gave dream Something that had him promise his allegiance. we literally do not know what this is until the disc finale and we ONLY know about it bc dream uses it as a trump card to make sure tommy doesn’t take his last life like he didn’t want ANYONE to know about the revivebook but bc its existence secured his survival both the characters and the audience learn about what it actually is for the first time. like the characters are as lost as us, we are as lost as the characters, dream, punz, and schlatt are the Only ones who knew from POGTOPIA TO DISC FINALE. and the only reason dream fessed up is bc he knew that tommy could never refuse the chance to revive wilbur. i dunno it just makes me a little crazy when i think about.
