Joie of Canon
Once upon a time, there was a princess named Joie from a province called Canon, who since at birth has brought great happiness into her family and her relatives that helped around in her family’s palace.
She was a darling to every heart, and because of this her older brother knew he needed to protect her. He knew light attracted flies, and little did he know, he was right.
Before she was born, an evil shadow of smoke got a hold of her mother. It was a curse of self-loathing that was passed down from generations to generations. But before it could even get a grip of the queen’s life, the wise king went into the Canon’s house of Art, where he would find answers from a blank, framed canvas that showed painting of truth and light according to what he seeked.
And so there it was, a painting that portrays a woman taste testing her two olive trees, in which one was a dying olive tree that had one last good fruit which was partaken by a woman who already had eaten another from the good fruitful olive tree.
The wise king understood the painting as that they would have one more seedling and that it would bring happiness into his queen's life as it showed the woman was delighted to eat from the dying tree. Though, the  king missed the most important part of the painting. The image also showed that the fruit was from a dying plant, which meant that though the fruits from that tree were more delighting, they were also too frail and implied that the curse of roots will be passed on to the child to be born.
So ignorantly enlightened, the king went on his two wheel motor carriage into his wife’s chambers and implanted her the seed that the painting had shown he would.
Alas, the queen was with child. Though she feared it would be a girl for the curse would be passed on if it was. So she had planned to kill the child if it came to be a girl.
Though those were her intentions, her beloved son, the prince was very excited to have a sibling. “Finally” he thought, “someone to play and learn with, and share my toys with.”
And when the time was getting closer and closer to her welcoming, both the prince and the king sang and talked to the queen's belly. Both hoping it would be a boy so they can keep it.
Then finally, the day came and took place on a Sunday. It was so early in the morning that everyone came out of their chambers in their robes, hair messed, and undone. But their curiosity and their hearts pumped to finding out if it were a boy or a girl, feeling both excitement and fear all at the same time.
After cries, grips, and hours of pushing, the baby came out with loud cries. It was a girl.
Exhausted, her mother breathed heavily and asked, “please tell me its a boy.” The doctor said nothing, and the nurses teared with joy on their faces.
“It must be a boy, is it doctora?” She asked again
No one answered, instead the head fairy handed it to her with tears and chuckles. “You should be grateful and name it Joie, her innocence and toothless smile just gave me butterflies in our bellies and great happiness in my heart”
Her mother started to cry and looked away from the child. And so the king, knowing he had to be strong for both his wife and son, took the child to put it away to sleep eternally. But the very moment he laid his eyes upon her, he bursted out in laughter. Startled and confused, the room became silently tensed.
“It’s bald!” he bursted out laughing. “She could actually pass for a boy”
The creator of the universe has blessed us. Sadly, he gave us a female child. But humorously, he made the child bald to look more like a boy,” he said chuckling.
“I am king, and what I say goes. We will keep the child and call it Joie. Surely, the painting from the Canon’s house of Art was true. And the head fairy has confirmed it through seeing her aura,” he continued
And so it was then, on the eleventh day of seventh month of the year, a princess in the province of Canon was born and was named “Joie” for she had immediately brought laughter and happiness within her first meeting, just as the King had understood from the painting.
To be continued…

You’d never think this rescue mission would lead to this. The plan was to get in, rescue Grogu, get Moff Gideon and walk out - the less damage the better. Needless to say, things didn’t go exactly according to plan, not in a single way.
But you definitely were not expecting an X-Wing to land on the ship and for a Jedi to walk out of there. Not any Jedi: Luke Skywalker. You’d heard a few gossips here and there about how he was the last great one of his kind, but you couldn’t predict that he’d sense Grogu and come get him. Ashoka? Sure. Luke Skywalker? Not in a million years.
It all happened so slow yet so quickly. One minute Grogu was in your arms, pointing at a screen, the next Din was saying goodbye to him, letting him see his face for the first time, while tears pooled across his vision before putting him down and letting the child waddle to Luke and the droid.
All eyes were focuses on Grogu as he exchange some sort of conversation with the beeping droid, before Luke’s eyes met yours.
“The force is strong with you too, Y/L/N”
“Just Y/N is fine.” you correct him, deferring his statement.
“Were you ever trained, Jedi?” he questions you, clearly noticing how unlike a Jedi your garments were - a beskar armor Din made sure to make buy you in Naboo as to protect you as much as possible, given the jobs you carried alongside him. It had cost him a great deal of credits but he didn’t want to hear a word about it. If it’s to keep you safe, I’d sell my own armor, he said.
“No?... I don’t know, I’ve just always felt The Force, I kind of taught myself everything I know."
“Have you ever maneuvered a lightsaber?”
You shook your head “No. Just blasters and spears.”
“A Jedi must learned to use one.” You don’t like where this conversation is headed and you can see by the way that Din’s shoulders are tensing up, as he stands next to you, that neither is he.
“Do you know the dangers of being your age and untrained, Y/N?” look questions, eyeing you only.
“No.” Din cuts in abruptly, stepping in front of you in a protective manner, his frame towering over you completely cutting your form from Luke’s vision “You’re not taking her as well.”
You can hear the croak in his voice. He is still on the verge of tears but there’s anger in there as well. Luke wants to take his lover away.
You step out from behind him to his side, left hand on his shoulder, forcing his bowed head to look at you. Your eyes meet his and it’s as if every muscle in your body felt like floating up to space. This man melted you every time.
But you have to own up to yourself, looking up at him with eyes as if to exchange a message in a language that only the two of you spoke. As if saying I should go.
His lips tremble and he shakes his head.
“Not you too, cyar’ika.” he begs.
“Din...”
“Don’t leave me. I’ve lost my home, my son, I - ... Please, don’t leave me” he grabs both of your hands in his, bowing his head and sniffing, as a single tear falls in the back of your hand.
The feeling of the wet drop in your hand opens your own gates, but only slightly, as you try to keep it together for the both of you.
“You don’t need to worry about me,”  you sniff, palming his cheek in your left hand “you have... plenty to figure out on your own.” you say touching the handle of the dark saber hanging from his gun belt.
“I don’t care about that piece of junk, I care about you.”
You wan’t to fight him back. You want to tell him how big of a deal that saber is and how much he should indeed care about it. But that wasn’t Din, that wasn’t Mando. He didn’t care about some stupid weapon or the status that it’d bring him. He went as far as to yield it to Bo-Katan as soon as he could, but unfortunately that’s not how it’s supposed to work. But he didn’t care. He only cares about the people he loves. And that made your heart ache all the most.
You are standing there, shaky breaths looking down at your hands, before sniffling and facing Luke.
“What happens if I go with you?” Din’s head shots up, looking at you,
“Given that you’re way past the normal age gap in which a Jedi is trained, you’d probably be assigned to a Master right away and they’d be responsible for all your training.” Luke explains, Grogu at his feet.
You nod and turn your head to look in Din’s eyes, your voice quieter now “And if I stay?”
“That’s... that’s not recommended as the grasp you have--” he starts
“What if I stay?” you insist.
“You’ll stay untrained, to put it simply. You’ll keep not understanding the dimension of your powers and the responsibilities that come with it. You might misuse it, you might not be able to control it and hurt the ones you love. You might kill without intending to, and you might turn to the dark side.”
“I would never - “ you interject, defending yourself
“It’s a faith you can’t control. Unless you train yourself. Unless you refine your skills.”
You ponder his words. The weight of both options dawning on you as you consider them.
“Even with me having a different Master from Grogu, will I still be able to make sure he’s okay?” you look at Grogu, adoringly. Who knew that little green ball of bald hair, if there even was such a thing, would become such a big part of your life.
“Arrangements can be made, yes.” Luke assures you.
You nod your head to yourself, eyeing the floor. You have made your decision.
You grab both of Din’s hands once again, this time his are the ones in between yours and you grab them hard. Not as to hurt him but to comfort him about what he knew you were about to say. But before you can say anything he shakes his head, another tear falling down his right cheek.
“Please, no.” he breathes
“It’s what’s best for everyone, Din.” you plead
“For everyone? I’ve lost my home, I’ve lost him, I can’t lose you too.” he takes a break to catch his breath, sniffling a few times “No, not you.”
“Din... let me go, please, don’t make this harder than it has to be.”
“How can you ask me that?” He looks you in the eyes. Those sweet brown eyes and his furrowed brows, asking you how you can even dare to break him this way “Please don’t walk out of that door.”
“If I stay, I might hurt people and I - “
“You’d never do that. You care for everyone you meet you’d never hurt people.” he brings your hands up to his chest, planting them there. You can feel both his breathing and heartbeat.
“You heard Luke...I might not be able to control it.” you try to reason with him “Din, if I ever hurt you I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.”
He bites his bottom lip trying to keep it from trembling and you grab the back of his head, feeling his curls and pulling his forehead to rest against yours.
“Do you trust me?”
“What? Of course I do.” he says in less than a second
“Then please...” you breathe out“ trust that I’ll keep him safe. Trust that I’ll come running back to you as soon as I finish my training.”
Seeing the scenario unfolding in front of him, Luke decides to help you out “She might also act as a link between you and the child. The three of you are connected by a very strong bond and Y/N can act as a communication link.”
You look in his direction, silently thanking him.
“Din.” you whisper his name. Oh how sweet his name has always sound in your voice. Every time you’d call him his heart would flutter inside is ribcage, but he would never admit to that. But he understands you.
“It is for the best, isn’t it?” he whimpers quietly, barely above a whisper.
“It is. I know it hurts. Fuck, it hurts so bad, but it is.”
Pulling slightly away from you, he reaches into his back pocket taking out something before offering it to you, on the side that is hidden from the other presences in the room.  He reaches down into his pocket taking out the sphere.  When he opens his gloved hand, you can see it’s the tiny sphere from the Razor Crest that Grogu loved so much.
“I want you to give him this.”
You shake your head, carefully closing your fingers over his “No.”
“But the kid -”
“Din, keep it.” you know it’s the only thing that he’ll have to remember the kid “You’ll need it more than him.”
There is silence, at last. Only both of your altered breathings can be heard for a while until you notice Din’s hands shuffling at the bottom of your peripheral vision. Looking down, you can see that he is taking his gloves off and your brows furrow in confusion.
Before you can process whatever was happening, his hands, his ungloved hands, come up to rest on both sides of your face and he holds you there. His hands are a little rough but you don’t mind - they are all the more warm and gentle as you feel his skin against yours. His thumbs wipe a few tears away from the corners of your eyes as they stare at him. His right hand slides slightly down from your cheek to your lips as he wipes your top lip, carefully, feeling the softness of them. His delicacy causing you to lean into his palm and placing your corresponding hand on top of his.
He wanted to touch you. If this were the last thing he gets from you, he’ll be happy with it. Slowly, Din then dips his head to join your lips with his in a passionate but sweet kiss, your hands still on top of his, cherishing his touch as much as you could. Despite your eyes being close, you can tell he was crying just as much as you as you could feel tears that weren’t yours come in contact with your cheeks.
Pulling away, but not enough to separate your faces, your foreheads rest once again against each other. One of his hands finds it’s trail to where your heart would be and he rests it there, you doing the same to him with your opposite hand. Feeling each other's heartbeat, connecting.
A few moments pass until you hear his voice again.
“This isn’t a goodbye is it?”
You shake your head slightly. “Not in a million years. We’ll both be back to annoy your ass before you can even notice.”
This causes him to give a half-hearted chuckle, yearning for the day when that happens. “If you come back-”
“When I come back...” you are quick to correct him.
“ When you come back, the first thing I’m going to do is make you my riduur, I promise you that much.” you squeeze his hand, intertwining your fingers with his.
“And I promise you that I’ll say yes, in a heartbeat.”
His head shifts slightly and he rest his lips against your forehead, whispering the words that until a year ago he would’ve never dreamed of ever saying to someone, but that he has since said so many times. But only to a single person. Only to you,
“I love you.”
“I love you.” you assure him against his chest.
Taking a big breath in, you pull away taking a good look at him one last time. Until suddenly you feel a tug on the bottom fabric of your armor. Looking down you can see Grogu with his little arms up, gesturing for you to pick him up.
Laughing between the tears, you reach down and pick him up, facing Din. In any other occasion, one could interpret the way the three of you were standing as a mother holding her child, saying farewell as the father heads out to work. But this reality is so much more painful. In this reality you’re both the ones leaving, and what you leave behind has a wound that won’t be fixed for a long time.
Tilting your head close to the kid you prop him to say his goodbye “Say bye bye to Din.”
Grogu’s little 3-fingered hand shakes as much as his arms allow him to in front of him as he coos, probably thinking he was articulating an actual farewell. Before you can a step away, Din grabs the back of your head one last time, kissing you between your eyes, before letting you go.
You step in Luke’s direction, communicating through The Force how grateful you were with him for being so patient, and he nods in acknowledgment.
“May The Force be with you.” he says to Din, who nods his head.
The four of you turn to walk away, but Grogu manages to climb up your arms and stay looking at Din as he gets farther and farther away. When you all reach the elevator you turn to face him one last time, using the force for what you never did before - connect with him.
I will always let you know where we are.
And as his eyes soften, you hear a response.
And I’ll always be at the ready to fly to you.

My Own choice in life...pt1.
As I walked up there street I was sure everyone knew why I was there !!!
I swear I could see curtains twitching !!! ...
Get a grip I told myself...!
Calm down your panicking !...
But not without good cause I was about to give up everything...
Something that I was terrified about, but had truly craved my entire life........
My inner sadness had finally taken hold as In grew older realising we None of us live forever we Do have an end date...
I had realised most of us live as if Death is something that happens to Other people....
But sadly it’s not....
That’s when I realised I truly wanted my little life....
That was when I met them a couple openly willing to let be live as my true self.....
2.
As I got to the Door  I took another Deep Breath feeling lightheaded Everything around me seemed to go quite the birds even the wind...
I rang the bell.....
The door Opened and Master Daddy greeted me with a huge smile ..
Hello “little one” Come in please along the corridor and second door on the right Mistress Mummy is waiting for you Cutie....
As I walked into there kitchen Mistress Mummy was standing waiting for me at a high stool in the middle of the floor...
She hugged me tightly for quite sometime....
She spoke to me....
Hello sweetheart....It’s Ok Mistress Mummy is here now....come sit on this sool for us  little one...
Take your Shorts down first though Babyslave....
They both watch me as I did this, revealing the skirt on my pink maids dress with the frilly bloomers under the dress...
I then climbed backwards onto the high stool my legs now dangling I feel like a naughty child infront of them both....
Mistress Mummy was first to come over pulling my Shorts off then my shoes and socks...
”My my Master Daddy look at this Babyslave has shaved her leggies for us !....have you been a good Babyslave and removed All hair ?”
Wess Mistress Mummy...
She then put white tights on me with strawberries up them and pink bows at the top to jut under my bloomers, these had rubber cuffs inside to hold them in place...
She pulled my leg to the side of the stool leg “Put you feeties in over the bar Babyslave !..Clever Baby and the other I will help you”
Am now not able to move my legs due to the angle my legs are without help or falling face first....
Now Master Daddy walks to a shelf he comes back with a ball Gag with face/head harnessing And white mittens with cartoon characters on them at the end of each is a heavy D-ring....
“Open Wide Babyslave !”
As I do he gags me from behind....strapping the harnessing tightly this is followed by him tugging on the mittens ....
I can tell he is quite strong !....
He is around 6’6” bald with huge shoulders from having a coal business for years so he had to be lifting heavy weights daily, he also had the biggest hands I have ever seen on a man !
Mistress Mummy was no regular girl she was also 6’2 and quite heavy built but not over weight, she had large breasts and big hips with a very full sexy bottom, she had red hair very long down her back in a poly tail.
3.
Mistress Mummy Spoke to me....
“Now Crybaby we have a couple of things to get ready for you so sit quietly...
When we come back We will take you to the play room....
There you have no safe word & no limits other than permanent harm...
Nod if you understand as once we start there will be No turning back we Will turn you into a complete Babyslave !
Over time you Will be fully regressed to an infant !
This Will happen to you make No mistake !..
An object for our amusement and pleasure...So yes or no Babyslave ??
I nod to them both...
Clever girlie Babyslave then sit quietly....until we return...
But remove your jacket please”
As I do Master Daddy puts a posture collar on me cuffing the mittens to it up my back !
As they both smiled at the pink pvc maids outfit they had requested me have on the day of arriving to start my new “little life...”
4.
All my other sissy clothes wardrobe & Toys had been packed up and sent to them
From my home .....
Then everything I owned sold off....
The money was in a trust fund that a good friend had the only access to...
She knew what was about to happen with my new Dominant parents...
So would be responsible for working with them for the first year after that Mummy and Daddy would get my trust....
Sam had already given them fifteen thousand pounds for my Nursery to be set up and equipment some very special bought for my mental and physical regression training .....
I seemed to be sitting for ages before they came back ?..
I gasped as they both walked in ...Master Daddy was dressed in a black leather suit with large black boots and a black rubber mask only his eyes were showing as he had on a blue face mask the type worn during that pants pandemic..!
He looked like a giant due to the thick soles on the boots !
Mistress Mummy was in a red rubber suit also with a hood on only her eyes showing as she too had on the same mask, her boots were right up to her knees they were black...
5.
Master Daddy spoke first....
“Right little one this is it ....
Say good by to your Big please...
I took a Deep Breath.....Good bye “Stephen”...
“Clever Crybaby...
As from now on you will be only 18month’s old !!.....
Our Baby Girlie...
In Nappies 24/7 ...You will use them fully never allowed the use of the toilet....
If your behaviour is good in this first year at New year we will consider Potty training for Serving on Very Special occasion’s...
You Will act as a Baby at All times...
No matter who comes to our home or where we take you...
You are Now our Baby & we your Strict Parents !!”
Mistress Mummy then spoke.....
“Babyslave we are very fair so be Obedient and you will be fine if not that is a different matter..You will find we are true sadists we absolutely will take pleasure from correcting Any disobedience !!...
Now to your baby talk....
Ga’Ga is for Yes goo’goo is for no ..
If you need a drink that is Ugg’ugg, If you wet your nappy you will say nothing !!
You will simply look at your nappy and cup both handies over the front until one of see’s you have wet yourself !!
If you go soil yourself  you will also look down at your nappy...
But cup both handies over your rear....
Is that clear Madam ?”
Ga’Ga !
“Clever girlie Crybaby let’s get you to the Quiet Room...
Master Daddy!”
He lifted me clean off the stool ! Putting me over his large hips like a small child,...
I instantly snuggled into his neck....
He spoke softly to me....
”Clever girlie Crybaby that’s the way you cuddle in and remember Everything Mistress Mummy has told you....
If not you will be Very Sorry Madam!”
He carried me to a room inside was dark it didn’t look like a Nursery ?
As he walked to the Center of this room a light came on to a Huge black wooden chair with all manner of leather strappings ! It had a steel bucket under it and a large metal frame that the head went into !...
I started whimpering on seeing it !....
But he simply told me to Hush Down Everything was going to be fine if I had listened to Mistress Mummy Very carefully ?
I was puzzled you his words as I watched Mistress Mummy Open the cage part to take my head !
Master Daddy put me into the chair then removed the ball gagging..
“Heddle backwards into the cage Crybaby !!...
Clever girlie”
Mistress Mummy shut the front over my face I could now not move my headie !!
They started pulling all The strapping on the Chair over me...
They were every 4” over my entire body !!!!...
As they stepped back I was completely immobile !!
And very scared this was Not a Nursery ??...
It looked to me like an electric chair but with a head cage !...
They said nothing not a singlword just disappointing imto the darkness ?
It was Then I realised the led lights were in a circle pointing inwards so when I looked out I could see nothing only light with black beyond.....
Master Daddy was the first to appear back with things over his arms he set them in my lap, again without a word, as Mistress Mummy also came back but she was pushing what looked like a large hoover ?
With all manner of tubing from it ?......
Then I noticed two things first the “Hoover” had a glass tube down its length on one side on the other was a corrugated hose with a gas mask attached to it !
I started whimpering again...But Master Daddy simply told me the same thing..
“Hush Hush now Crybaby...it’s all going to be fine If I had listened to Mistress Mummy Carefully ?”
Why had he said that a second time ? Had I missed something....
My brain desperately searching my memory for her exact words....
O’no panic was setting in I couldn’t remember A word she had said !...
Master Daddy looked at me “Aawww Cutie your shaking are you scared ? I went to say Ga’Ga but he pushed a mouth gag into my mouth it was ridged top and bottom to go over my teeth a Hollow was there for my tongue and the roof of my mouth the rubber pushed up tightly !
He fed the rubber jaw mask around inside the cage fastening it at the rear tightly.
Next came a thick tube the bore was around 10mm internally, this he pushed had to a click on the mask he the cable tied the tube up the side of the head cage...Next item was a tube of glue ?
Mistress Mummy was done setting up the machine so spoke to me..
“Clever girlie Crybaby that’s very good so far...Close your eyes cutie !”
As I did I felt wetness on my eyelids, they my eye was opened fully ? Then the other eye...My eyes started watering and seemed to be stinging slightly?...
Master Daddy took his fingers away but my eyes stayed open !
OMG he had glued my eyes open !...
Goo’goo ...
Again he told me to Hush I was fine If I had listed to Mistress Mummy !
The very first tear fell....
Mistress Mummy was first to notice..
“Look Master Daddy our Baby is shedding her first tears !!!”
She took a picture with her phone then stood writing something...
Hello everyone Our Crybaby is shedding her Crybaby’s first tears ! We will be live on our home page please feel free to follow Crybaby’s progress through her first day 💝
She hit send....As she did there was a Flash !...
Master Daddy lifted the gas mask from the hook, pushing the mouth tube through the wee hole for it in the mask.then.....
Hooked up the tube to the machine, he pushed hard onto my face to hissing as the mask clung to my face ! He did up the head strapping tightly...
“That’s our Clever girlie all ready to go Mummy !”
I watched as she pushed on of the buttons on the machine and a green light came on...
A low hum started as I watched green fluid coming up the tube !
Master Daddy told me to be a Clever Baby Girlie and Swallow nice and steadily !
The fluid tasted minty and was actually quite pleasant to swallow as it had a slightly sweet taste....?
Mistress Mummy mocked...”Aawww bless Master Daddy look she thought it was going to be nasty...Baby Girlie is that nice ?”
Ga’Ga...
“Clever girlie your so good listening to Mistress Mummy....it’s ok to cry princess mummy and daddy know you desperately want to cry for us ....So as long as you listened to Mummy Properly.....this is not a Punishment Crybaby this is just to let you be a cute Baby Girlie without worrying about your silly Big holding you back as we both know Your nasty Big will want to push little Crybaby to one side but Mummy and Daddy will make sure when that happens Princess we Will have him leave you so Baby can live a full life ...then Our Baby Girlie can live a Very full “Little life”...Now we are going to let Baby Hydrate as we fit a few things to you Princess”
Master Daddy had a small plastic bag he was pealing open for her....she lifted it out in her blue rubber gloved hand ...
It was a 3” long  cannula needle ! Pulling my dress down slightly she wiped my skin with an alcohol wipe then pushed the needle Deep into my chest muscle ! I squealed as she did...she smiled down at me..
Then simply taped it to my body...
“Hush Hush now Crybaby your fine just be a Clever girlie we want you to look like a cute Princess ”.....Master Daddy Told me...
He gave her a second needle ! This to was pushed Deep into my other chest muscle..
More tubing came for the machine  this single clear tube split in two with 6” orange rubber ends with small cuffs and it was already primed, a small “pop...pop !”
And they were both connected.....
Mistress Mummy lent into my face this is to have our baby look more like a girlie....until she has her hormone treatment Then she can be a real Baby Girlie for Mummy and Daddy !!”
Master Daddy lent in too smiling....
”You do want to be our Baby Girlie Crybaby ?....(Ga’Ga)
Clever Baby But nice and loud so everyone can hear you Crybaby !!!”
GA’GA....
He patted my thigh.....”Clever girlie Crybaby Say it Again !....(GA’GA !)...Well done Clever girlie are you wetting your nappy 😂..Say it Again Baby !”
GA’GA...
“Clever girlie keep repeating yourself until Mummy or Daddy Tills you to Stop Ok Princess ?”
GA’GA !!....Gulp....GA’GA !!....Gulp...GA’GA !!...Gulp...GA’GA !!.......
Mistress Mummy put head phones on her headie through the bars !
They were pink and covered in cartoon characters...they burst into life as Baby heard a recording.....
It was a soft spoken girl, telling Crybaby...she was going to take me for a walk down some stairs....to a lovely garden... in the Center of the garden was a special Chair...this Chair was her chair....come on baby take the first of the Ten steps with Nanny...Ten....
Master Daddy set the pink lamp down shining into Crybabys eyes, small spirals appeared on Baby’s face as she sat still swallowing the green fluid repeating her mantra...GA’GA !....Gulp...GA’GA !....
“Can you smell the lovely scent from Your garden...the soft breeze in your hair..Clever Baby next step with Nanny Nine...can you see all the lovely flowers Baby they were All planted with love just for you ?”
Mistress Mummy put the small fan on under the lamp with the wet cloth in its dish , this aroma would blow lightly into Crybabys face...she could tell Babyslave was gone all Ready his eyes were kept open but the glazed look told her sissy Babyslave was going down the steps with Nanny...
Next week after listening to all 24 of the tapes she would let him meet her sister “Nanny”...But the best part ... Sissy was still repeating Ga’Ga Ga’Ga...As her tummy filled with green fluid making It’s was to the mass below !
They had Babyslave on a special diet for seven days, then had sissy take strong pain meds this made Babyslave constipated..Babyslave had not passed a single movement for four days now !!!!!
But as she smiled to Master Daddy....That was all about to change the green fluid would see to that over and over....
Fuck this was such a rush...time to leave Babyslave for a bit as she needed Daddys attention to a pressing matter her sexual frustration !!!!

I felt truly Sad for some strange reason ??...
“Open Wide Princess !....In we go !”
Master Daddy was pushing a butterfly gag into my mouth I had seen them in videos but never had on on me....
My tears were still falling but ever so gently..
He fed a leather face mask up the tube pulling it past the bars to the back where he zipped it down this made me Whimper aloud.....
As this was the second time I had felt how strong my Master Daddy was !
As it felt like the soft kid leather was too small for my head ...
But I was wrong ! ...Master Daddy got the zippering All the way down my head and neck !...he stood back in front of me..plugging the bulb pump to the tube from the butterfly gag, closing the small valve....
He started pumping with one Big Hand, as the other finger and thumb pinched over my face between each of my Cheeks ?
Slowly my mouth opened tightly against the leather hood till he felt the right pressure from My cheeks telling him It was going backwards into my throat !
But my bulging eyes would have told Him that, also the fact I was gagging slightly...as he spoke......
“Hush Hush Princess your fine concentrate on your Breathing slow it down girlie......that’s it.....aAs our girlie Really is Not wanting to be sick right now !.....Do we Crybaby?”
Goo’goo
“Clever girlie Princess...indeed we don’t !....so settle down everything is fine, Mistress Mummy is going to put some nice booties on you but Master Daddy will stay here and keep you company Princess”

I felt my ankle be unfastened and my leg pulled out at 45deg onto something hard...as it was Master Daddy Spoke to me as if reading my mind !!!
“Crybaby what’s the matter Princess?...are You a sad Sad Crybaby?”....

“There There Princess Hush...! So that’s what’s wrong Cutie...is it Crybaby?”
He was looking right into my tear stained Eyes !

GA’GA !!....GA’GA !!....GA’GA !!....GA’GA !!....
I started crying again but not from sadness from pure joy at being Allowed to say GA’GA’s !!!!!!!.....
What was happening to me ??......Why did I want to say GA’GA’s so very badly ???...
I felt tugging then my foot went unnaturally flat at the front as the Ballet boot slipped all the way home, then Mistress Mummy zipped it up its length cuffing my ankle back to the “Chair”....
My other foot was undone....then the boot pushed on...
Master Daddy lifted the headphones putting them over the black kid leather hood !
The recording started again....

They were both watching the spectacle unfold as Babyslave sat chanting..
GA’GA !....grunt...GA’GA !!....grunt...GA’GA !!!....Grunt ....
Babyslave was filling her Nappy !! Over and over it came, as Babyslave’s face went Red with effort !
Grunting between chants...
GA’GA !!....GRUNT !....GA’GA !!.....GRUNT !!...pant !...GA’GA !...GRUNT !!!...Pant !..GA’GA !!....
Babyslave had taken the first step....of many yet to come...
But this ??.....
They both kissed they had Never seen anyone cave in this quickly !!!
They were right this sissy was Very Special.....
Master Daddy pumped the bulb one more time as Babyslave GAVE A HUGE GRUNT EMPTYING THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF HER BOWELS !
Into the waiting Nappy in a Roar of pure liquid sound ...
Babyslave slumped in the Special Chair...
Crying like toddler...!!!!!.....
Mummy and Daddy ...cuddled there new Toy as Mistress Mummy took Babyslave’s nipples ...
“There There Hush Hush now Mummy and Daddy are so very very proud of You Princess Crybaby....Hush Hush....that’s the way...
Ok Baby Girlie one last thing then we will get you out and cleaned up then into a lovely soft Clean Princess Nappy....Ok?”
Ga’Ga.....
He was still in a groggy hypnotic state so they worked fast...
“Clever girlie Crybaby that’s good.....
Let’s show everyone what Your Special Chair is actually for Princess ...”
She was deflating the butterfly gag removing it from the mask ...
As it came out dripping with Babyslave’s saliva ...
She smiled at Crybaby...
Babyslave was puzzled why his mouth was still Open ?
Held by the rubber O-ring inside the mask Babyslave had not even noticed Master Daddy working it behind her teeth due to her hypnotic state ! As he had tugged the tightly fitting mask !!...
Master Daddy flipped the two side steps out from the chair, held the upright behind the head cage....
He pulled himself up to Babyslave’s face pushing into Babyslave’s mouth Deeply...
Mistress Mummy Spoke...
“Clever girlie Crybaby that’s it Show everyone what a Clever girlie You are in your Special Chair !”........
Master Daddy started a slow rythem back and forth, the head cage rattled it time to the rhythm of the assault on there New Toy....
Babyslave had No choice No option as her headie wouldn’t move her mouth couldn’t close her body could move....so what was left but submission....
Every time Master Daddy with drew to a grunt..Baby would run her sissy tounge around Daddy’s shaft..moaning like a bit in heat....Crying as she did....
Soon Babyslave would crave this room....
But especially “Her Special Chair !!!”.....

The Raven and the Songbird
Chapter 2
Read on AO3
Azriel tensed, cursing his shadows for once again not alerting him to Gwyn’s presence. The question had been dry and withering, but he also detected the softest hint of desperation – a nearly silent plea. He wasn’t ready for that question. Of course he wanted to speak to her. He wanted to talk to her all day, every day. He turned to face the doorway to the House where she stood in those damned leathers, arms crossed, leaning her hip against the frame. He wished the one-sided grin she wore would creep into her eyes.
“You’ve been avoiding me.”
Azriel thought about denying it, but that would have been a pathetic attempt at a bald-faced lie. He somehow found the courage to meet her gaze and found a storm there, too many warring emotions for him to identify. The silence that stretched between them kept him rooted where he stood, uncomfortable with the quiet. Quiet was unusual for Gwyn, and his eyes narrowed as he watched her. As if she noticed his shift her lashes lowered.
“You don’t even try to deny it,” she murmured. She made no move to come nearer to him, and her softness made something in his chest tighten.
“Gwyn –“
“I thought we were friends, Azriel. I was caught off-guard, but you have to know it was forgiven the day it happened.” The priestess looked back up to him. His body vibrated from the determination that sparkled in her gaze like the moon reflected in the sea. “It was stupid, Azriel. And unfair to both Elain and myself. But everyone does stupid things.”
The Illyrian took a cautious step toward her, afraid she would bolt. “We are friends, Gwyn. I’m sorry. You’re right, I was an idiot.”
“We both deserve better. But I know you’ll be better.” She shrugged. His breathing shallowed when she finally pushed away from the door frame and walked to him, stopping just out of his reach.
“I miss you, Azriel.”
That simple utterance knocked him on his heels, shadows settling around his shoulders. Her admission seemed almost a relief to them, even if he couldn’t quite place the feeling her words had left within him. Gwyn had never minced words – she had always been unabashedly honest and straightforward. And yet somehow it always surprised him.
“Why do you still wear it?” he blurted out, wondering how he could be stupid enough not to admit that he’d missed her, too.
“Do you not want me to?” She raised a brow at him and he balked. He knew his eyes must have been wide as saucers.
“No, no, that’s not what I meant.” Gods how did she always make his thoughts such a mess? Why couldn’t he find the right words with her?
Gwyn’s musical laughter pealed into the summer afternoon. How he had missed that sound. “I wear it because it’s lovely. It makes me happy, and it is the finest gift I’ve ever received.” He studied her, wondering how she made it sound so simple, how there was no hurt attached to the delicate pendant and chain. She said she was caught off-guard, but the look in her eyes that day… the tears… “Why did you give it to me? And why was it a secret?”
Those were far more loaded questions. Azriel ran a hand through his hair and looked away.
“When Elain returned the necklace to me I had every intention of returning it to the shop. I had it in my pocket all day. And yet, at the end of it… something just made me think that you might like it.” He waited for any reaction, but she just looked at him and gave him a nod to continue. “I thought it might make you smile, and I asked Clotho not to tell you it was from me because…”
Why had he, really? Did he even know? Had he been holding on to any hope that Elain might still be a future he could grasp? Was there ever any hope for that, other than his foolish pining? And was it for Elain, or just for what his brothers had been blessed to find? “I didn’t want to overwhelm you or think that it meant more than it did.”
Fuck, that didn’t sound right at all. He dared a glance back to her face and saw those eyes brewing again.
“You think me so naïve, Shadowsinger?” Her tone was clipped. “I’m not so foolish to fall in love with a male simply because he deigns me worthy enough to receive a pretty gift. Not so stupid to presume it means more than what it is to him, either.” She glared at him, and he wanted nothing more than to shrink away. He just kept choosing the wrong words.
“I don’t think that, Gwyn. And I’m sorry for all of this. I never meant to make you feel like I just settled for giving it to you because I couldn’t have Elain.” The priestess stiffened, almost imperceptibly, before looking away.
“Your romantic pursuits aren’t my business, Azriel.”
Her voice was so soft, barely a whisper. Not the voice of the bold priestess, and it was like a fist in his gut. The words – the hint of resignation – made his insides roil. Did she want it to be her business?
Did he?
“Anyway,” she sighed and looked back at him with a grin. “It’s mine now. I love it. I’ll wear it until something happens to it. Or until someone decides to gift me something prettier.”
The idea of a male giving her that gift – to replace his – sent his shadows twisting as Azriel bristled.
“So everything is forgiven, and we can go back to normal, right?”
He grinned, even though he was trying to analyze everything she had said… to find the reason why that grin, too, was not reflected in her eyes.
“Of course.”
Gwyn beamed at him, then, twin pools of teal shining at him.
“Great,” she answered before turning away from him and heading back toward the door. “Don’t be a stranger, Shadowsinger.”
Azriel just watched as she disappeared, wondering how to piece it all together. He couldn’t stop thinking about how her hair burned like fire under the sun, how the only time her smile had crinkled the corners of her eyes was when he had agreed that things would go back to normal.
Why hadn’t he told her that he missed her, too? Why had her words made him feel so hollow?
Your romantic pursuits aren’t my business.
I’ll wear it until someone decides to gift me something prettier.
The Spymaster growled to himself and returned to the discarded scraps he’d grabbed to start wrapping his hands. He had needed to punch things before, but now? His confusion and her words and her eyes and those damned leathers and her strangely subdued demeanor…
“Stop. It.”
She wanted to be friends. He could deal with friends, even as he refused to acknowledge how the thought threatened to crush him. Why? He knew where they stood, knew what he was. Friends was far more than he deserved, knowing that he’d made her cry.
I was caught off-guard.
Why had she cried? Why didn’t he ask her?
He secured his wraps and ran a hand through his hair, closing his eyes and letting the sun warm his face. He needed a distraction, needed a way to settle himself. There had been so little activity in the other courts, the human lands, across the sea. Maybe things were too quiet. Maybe the Spymaster needed to check up on things.
Maybe it would be the perfect way to stay far away from that freckled face curtained with copper silk that threatened to ruin him.

You watched the man in astonishment, observing every explosion of color that lit the air when a shivering bubble popped. The air in the small room had become thick with smoke, your nostrils assaulted with the scent of fire and burning roots. Long dexterous fingers plucked leaves from odd shrubbery tossing them into the simmering brew. Once the thick bubbling liquid cooled the man let it flow into a jar like molasses and handed it to you.
“Find a way to make him drink it, it should start kicking in, in a couple hours.”
“T-thank you-
“Don’t thank me. And don’t come back to this place. I won’t answer.”
.
.
.
Had you been desperate? Yes. Had it been worth it? You didn’t know… Your fingers dug into the wood, nails creasing at how tightly you gripped the podium. You were counting in your head reaching as far as eight hundred fifty-five before the Judge cut off your clutch. It was but a miniscule change but you could see how the balding man rolled his eyes. The subtle movement had your heart plummeting to the pit of your belly. In that moment you could tell that he had already made his verdict and calling up the pro hero was just procedure.
“Mr. Takami.” The judge began. “I have heard the allegations you have made towards Ms. (Lastname), I would like you to recount the events. Please start with how you met.”
“Certainly your honor.” Keigo nodded. He cleared his throat, molten gold eyes meeting yours in a slitted glare.
“I was on patrol at the time, something my protegee and those of my agency can confirm. It was nearing the end of my shift and I was headed back when I saw…Ms.(Lastname).” He grimaced at the sound of your last name leaving his lips.
“The moment I saw her I took off in her direction.” The judge asked why, even though he had read up on the matter. “She was standing atop a building, Block twenty five, building six. I noticed by the way her body was being pushed by the wind that she had climbed over onto the ledge. A jumper is what I thought and I was there right as she stepped off.”
The room was quickly filled with incredulou susurrations. Keigo allowed the bystanders to control themselves before continuing. “I managed to catch her before she plummeted and hit the ground. At the time she was rabid, her nails dug into my skin, she tugged at my hair and bit me, as you can see from the images in the report. After a while she was left sobbing and after a small conversation I took her to the hospital and we found the right people to help her.”
“Is all of this true?” He looked to you for an answer.
“Yes your honor.” You whispered. You wanted to yell at Takami, shout at him for lying. It wasn’t just him catching you!? It was much more than that! He saved your life!? He gave you hope that life wasn’t meaningless and he cared enough to get you help, it wasn’t as emotionless as he described it was much more..intimate.
Regardless of your thoughts in the matter, Takami continued with his tale.
“A couple of weeks went by and I had forgotten about the incident.” He shrugged, the nonchalant tone was like being a bug and having someone squash and rotate their shoe on you. He spat on your feelings in his next confessions. “But then all of a sudden she showed up at my agency, I didn’t think much of it. She thanked me like someone normally would, offered to buy me dinner which I declined and left me a thank you card.”
‘That wasn’t how it happened..’ You fought the tears threatening to spill from your eyes. He had been incredibly sweet with you, asked you how you were doing, he smiled like the sun when he gave you a hug congratulating you on your new will to live, he declined your proposal for dinner and promised. He promised, he said ‘Maybe some other time.’ You grit your teeth not wanting to lose your cool in front of everyone. ‘But at this rate…He’ll really get a restraining order.’
Sweat began to dot your back, your dress shirt clinging to your skin as you waited for the spell to kick in. However, Takami was showing no signs of being under the effects of the potion as he listed off every ‘offense’
“From there it only got worse, I began to see her everywhere. No matter where I went she was always shadowing me, She kept leaving me unwanted gifts, she got a hold of my email address and number, She found my personal address and broke into my house… “ He visibly shuddered before adding. “I had someone over one night and we had heard something, she was in my fucking closet-
“Language Mr. Takami.” The judge sighed. In the judge’s eyes you were just another overzealous fan, this case was nothing that he hadn’t heard.
“Objection.” Your lawyer called. The judge grunted allowing your lawyer to speak, he knew how this would play out- “Mr. Takami has lied, there is no evidence placing my client in his apartment at the times he has reported. Mr. Takami has also failed to produce said witness to testify that they did indeed see Ms. (Name) (Lastname).”
That was new… The judge furrowed his brows and looked at the reports on his desk once more. There was indeed no evidence….Odd. You looked at your ‘lawyer’ a discreet smile upon your lips, then you turned to look towards Hawks who glared at you. Unease set in your belly…’It wasn’t working..’ You dared another look at the blonde and saw that his steely gaze was set on your lawyer. Blood drained from your veins, only to be replaced by liquid nitrogen ‘Did he know!?’
“Y-Your honor.” Takami stuttered, a pained grimace on his face. “There also was an incident last night.”
The elderly man sat up straighter, intrigue bubbling in his irises.
“Ms. (Lastname)… Ms.. She.” An odd flush colored his cheeks, his wings puffed out like a blowfish as his breath quickened. A collective gasp was wrought out of everyone once his eyes rolled and he slumped over. There was a rush of people, colors swirled around you as the cacophony of chaos penetrated your ears. Your wrists were caught and you were quickly restrained, the officers on standby clearly finding his last statement to be indicative of foul play.
.
.
.
‘Slam!’
“Tell me what you did?!” The officer shouted in your face.
“I-I swear I didn’t do anything.” You stuttered. You quickly recalled what your ‘lawyer’ told you to say. “I swear my life on it that I only spoke with him, I apologized to him, I didn’t mean for my behavior to come across as ‘odd’.”
“Lies!” He shouted.
“I dunno man.” Another cop shrugged, crossing his arms as his brows furrowed in thought. “From all of our evidence it shows that she’s been on a good track, takes her meds, follows up with her therapist, hell there’s no proof of her even being near Hawks all the times he said she was…Then there’s also the matter of his reputation…”
The other man backed off his co-workers words seeming to resonate with him. “So you’re saying that….What if it’s the other way around?”
“Exactly!? What if she rejected him and this was his way of revenge?” The other added.
“Hmm it’s not that much of a stretch, he is a pro-hero after all.” He scoffed. “Is that what happened?” He asked you. You weren’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
“Y-Yes… I-I went that day to thank him and he flirted non-stop with me, then he started appearing everywhere, I told him I wasn’t interested in him like that, that I only wanted to thank him for saving me. The next thing I knew I was being brought down to the station and was shown a bunch of messages I didn’t type.” You whimpered. “I-I don’t get w-why he’s doing this.” You sniffed.
“That fucking bastard.” The man who had been shouting at you hissed.
“Fucking pro-heros!? They think they can do what ever the fuck they want!?” The other seethed. Once you were let go a grin crawled onto your face, they probably thought you hadn’t noticed but there was a red light coming off the camera.
The next hearing came a week later after Hawks had recovered from whatever happened. You had to thank the ‘witch doctor’ he did such a thorough job that even the top medical professionals were left baffled. Said man walked up next to you, he sat next to you and slid you over a note. ‘It’s done.’
“Done?” You whispered. You didn’t have to ponder it any longer as the blonde hero strolled by, his sunlight orbs glued to your frame as he sat down. He had his head bent at an owlish degree as he continued to bore his eyes into you….. It was slightly unnerving. You leaned over to adjust your shoes-
Bam!
The noise startled a yelp out of you and your wide eyes looked up to see Keigo, the palms of his hands had slammed down on the wood allowing paper to fall like scattered leaves. Angel curls of blonde shadowed vibrant gold as he looked down at you. It was then that you heard the voices commanding him to sit back down. He left albeit reluctantly to his seat…
That display along with the recording the police had presented crumbled his defense and when he was called to stand the foundations perished.
“It’s true.” He lied. “I made it all up. The truth is I fell in love with (Name) but she didn’t return my feelings and my pride got hurt. I apologize for inconveniencing you all.” The last words were but lip service and the judge set a price. It was obvious that he was getting off with a slap on the wrist but that was fine with you. In fact you refused the offer they made of you getting a restraining order against him clearly that was the last thing you wanted.
The spellman was gone as soon as you had collected your things from the court lockers, he left with a cryptic smile his last lines you had brushed off. “As if I’d regret this.” You scoffed, a smile on your lips as you caught Hawk’s gaze on you.
.
.
.
Your knuckles rasped against the wooden door aggressively. Your knuckles were raw, blood vessels popped, red streaks of your vital fluids seeping through. Tears dotted your waterline, the horrid liquid distorted your vision as you practically slammed your body against the door. Your voice was hoarse wrought with strenuous use.
“Please!?” You screeched feverishly. “Please let me in!?” You cried.
The rusting door gave way with a particularly harsh kick. Said kick set off pins and needles but the pain was drowned out by the relief of having the door open. You peered inside.
“No” You whispered. You recalled the man who sold you the potions words. ‘Don’t come back.’ “Fuck” You cried quickly turning to find somewhere else to hunker down. ‘If only I could get to a precinct!?’ You thought.
Your lungs burned, the sacs expanded in quick succession, they had been overworked and their production volume wasn’t nearly enough to fuel you. With every pant you lost momentum, with every pouding step your bones shook, but you couldn’t stop. No you wouldn’t even stop to ask for help even that could prove to be detrimental. ‘His eyes are sharp, too sharp he’ll spot me.’ You skid to the right tumbling into a narrow alley, it would be difficult for him to get through due to his wingspan.
As you caught your breath against the grimey wall you took a moment to think. ‘How the hell did it turn out like this?’ Everything was amazing, the effects of the potion were immediate, he asked you out at the speed of light, and soon you were going on blissfully sweet dates. He doted on you and fawned over you at every moment, you even took pride in the fact that he was neglecting his work for you. It made you feel special, loved.
You shared intimacy allowed him to get even more familiar with your body than even you were, it wasn’t even a month and you had moved in together, it was perfect. Until it wasn’t. Everyday.. Everyday or every minute or second he spent with you he’d fall more in love with you. It was becoming suffocating, he wouldn’t leave your side, his feathers glued to you at all hours of the day whether you were relieving yourself or watching clothes tumble and swirl in a washer.
He had to always be touching your skin, an arm, a hand, hell a pinkie, if your skin wasn’t in contact with his he’d go into panic, pupils shrunken to needle points as he panted and called for you. The jealousy was endearing in the beginning, but soon you weren’t allowed to let your gaze shift from him. You weren’t allowed to watch the actors on the T.V. You weren’t allowed to hear music because you only needed to hear his voice.
You could feel the hot tears streaming down your face as you stood in the dank cold alley. You only wanted him to at least spare you a glance, to give you a chance… You didn’t want whoever this person was. He looked like the angelic man you fell for but that was not him. Today you had taken the opportunity to run. His speech had become frightening, he spoke of gouging your eyes so that the ugly world didn’t taint your eyes, he spoke of having your beauty preserved for eternity. ‘The world doesn’t deserve you’ You could almost gag at the remembrance of those words.
“Baby bird!” You pressed yourself against the wall behind a dumpster hoping and praying that he wouldn’t spot you. “Birdey!?” He cried.
To any bystander he looked like a worried man calling out for his lover, hell he probably already spread that lie. You cringed when you heard a snipping sound, it was a habit he had picked up when he stressed over you, he bit his nails to the bed, even behind your clenched eyes you could see his wide yellow eyes watching you, thumb in his mouth as he watched you and thought. You covered your mouth, you were ready to erupt, hysteria was tugging at your heart and you wanted to give in and just scream.
You couldn’t hear him anymore. You breathed out a sigh of relief, he had gone to search elsewhere. You took a moment to think, ‘where do I go from here?’ You summarized that he was probably a block or two away. ‘If I go down block twenty-seven I can go into the club and borrow a phone.’ With a plan set you nodded and opened your eyes.
Gold.
A painful scream tore through your throat, his cattish eyes were glazed over a smile stretching his lips. His hands quickly shot out towards you, he wrapped his body around you, his heat more uncomfortable than the cold autumn air.
“I was so worried.” He breathed, you felt his tremors. “Why did you run away?”
“I-I wanted to-
“Don’t lie to me babybird.” His clipped tone froze you. “Are you trying to leave me?”
You shook your head. “O-of c-course not I-I love you K-Keigo why w-would I leave y-you?” Your voice wavered horrendously.
“I know.” He smiled, he rubbed his cheek to yours affectionately. He pulled back and his smile dipped. “But you don’t love me enough.”
The dark timbre had you squeaking out a choppy what. “I love you so so much more than you love me. And that hurts, it hurts so much… Why can’t you understand that I just want you to know that.”
“I- T-the way you love me is scary Keigo.” You dared to whisper.
“No it’s not!” He shouted, his grip becoming tight enough to make you wince. “I love you, I love you, I love you so so damn much that I don’t want you to think or anyone else, I don’t want you to see anyone else, I don’t want you to hear anyone else, I want to be your whole world like you are my world.”
“I-I know-
“No you don’t!” He screamed. “You don’t know because you keep trying to leave and put distance between us! You don’t listen to me and you keep on looking at things! You keep hearing other people’s voices when it should only be me! Why won’t you let it be me?” His voice cracked near the edges and your eyes looked around frantically, you were desperate to find a way to defuse him.
“K-Keigo look I-
“I hate you.” Your jaw dropped. “I love you so much I fucking hate you (Name).” You couldn’t understand, but you were powerless to stop his next course of action. He tackled your body into him and shot up to the sky, bloody plumage fell down around you as he flew above ropes and powerlines till he was above the cracks of the building. Fearing for your life you clung to him, surprise filling your being when he landed on a building. A very eerily familiar building.
“It was here that we met.” He mumbled hugging you to his chest tightly. “It’s only fitting that we depart here too.”
“K-keigo m-my love what-” He pressed his cool finger to your lips, your words wouldn’t change his mind.
“You don’t love me enough to call me that, and remember I established that I hate you.” He chuckled.
You looked around your eyes catching sight of his watch, you needed to stall. ‘If he’s thinking what I think he’s thinking then he’s going to do whatever it is at the exact time I jumped a year ago.’ When you were going to end your life last year you calculated it so that the janitor of this building would find your note in no less than five minutes. You had wanted him to lean over and see your distorted body. And now the janitor, that Ex you were going to kill yourself for was your only hope….
“W-why do you hate me?” You asked softly, your eyes hard on the hands of the clock. You prayed to every deity above hoping that he didn’t hear the rapid pitter patter of your heart.
“Because… You’re too cruel, I just want your love to the same degree that you have mine, but I can see that I’ll never have it. And I hate that. I hate that you’re causing me so much pain.”
“I c-can love you like that if you want.” You gulped.
“ You’re lying.” He sighed, the puff of air sounded like that of a parent in disappointment of their child. “You’re waiting for someone who isn’t even alive to come in and drag you out of my arms.”
“….”
“You know…” He stood up with you, and you struggled in his hold as he walked you towards the ledge. “I’ve stayed awake for night on end wondering, I wonder when was it that I started feeling this way? Why? It’s all a mystery to me and it irks me heh… I guess that’s another thing I hate about you… I hate that I don’t know why I love you so much.”
The wind cut into your face as you looked down. Keigo grabbed your face squishing your cheeks together. “After I do this I’m going to turn myself in and make sure they end me, even though I hate you I can’t imagine living without you.”
“Wait please!” You shouted, you weren’t ready to give up just yet.
“No more word-
“Shut up and listen!” you hissed. You felt him tense behind you. You hadn’t even spoken to him in such a nasty tone. “Yes you’re right! You don’t love me.”
“But I do so mu-”
“No you don’t!” You were openly crying now, snot running down the tip of your nose. “It’s all a lie! You really hate me and you should! I.. I gave you a love potion a couple months ago.”
“Wha…” Keigo froze, a million thoughts rushing in his head.
“It’s true…” You whispered “And I’m sorry.”  A rush of emotion filled him, love, hate, loathing, disgust, remorse, doubt and in the heat of it:
He pushed you.

Chapter 23 Part 2
Stark Spangled Banner Masterlist // Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
“I’ve put the boys to work.” Laura gestured out of the window as Katie chewed on her grilled cheese. She’d had a good four hours sleep and was feeling much better after a scalding hot shower. She glanced across the lawn area to where Steve and Tony were positioned at the side of the house, both holding an axe, stood by a stack of large logs and two piles of smaller logs.
“You got Tony doing manual labour?” Katie grinned at her. “Well played.”
Laura chuckled and then began to chat to about her plans for dinner. “Clint suggested comfort food. fried chicken and Mac and Cheese to be specific”
“You’ll win Steve over instantly.” Katie leaned against the counter. “I’m happy to help, lot of people to feed, not to mention Stevie eats enough for three.”
“You wanna take her up on that.” Clint walked into the kitchen and opened a drawer near the door.“She’s a damned good cook is Nova. Obviously, not as good as you, babe.” He added as a quick afterthought. “Smooth Barton…” Katie laughed as Laura threw a tea towel at his head. Easily catching it ant tossing it back, he pulled a tape measure from the drawer and left through the backdoor, still laughing, the kids trailing behind him.
Katie stared at the back door as it shut, the normality of the scene suddenly hitting her. He had a wife, two children, and still managed to hold down the ridiculous lifestyle the Avengers and SHIELD demanded.
“How do you do it?” She blurted out. The woman placed the last plate on the sink to drain and straightened up. “I mean this, it’s so ordinary.” she turned, once more looking out of the window. She watched Steve swing his axe, his light blue Under Armour skin top clinging to every part of his torso.
“It’s possible…” Laura mused, standing behind her as she followed the younger woman’s gaze. You know, to have a domestic life…well, a variation on one, away from the mess.”
“Problem is the pair of us are tangled in the mess.” Katie muttered, not taking her eyes off Steve.
“Well then, you should understand each other more.” Laura pointed out, before she changed the subject. “Here, they could probably use a drink. You wanna take ‘em that jug of ice tea for me?”
“Sure.”
A minute or so later Katie crossed the lawn with a tray sporting a full jug and two glasses towards where both men where stood by the decreasing mound of large logs and the two increasing mounds of smaller ones.  Steve’s pile of cut logs was significantly bigger than Tony’s, which was hardly surprising.
And the pair of them were bickering which was also not surprising.
“Is that a problem?” Steve asked, picking the two halves he had just cut up and throwing them onto his pile, bristling slightly at the fact Tony was digging into why he wasn’t as affected by the Maximoff’s visions as everyone else. Truth be told he had been affected, big time, but since he and Katie had talked it through he felt better. But he wasn’t about to tell anyone that, frankly it was no ones’ business what any of them had seen bar their own.
“I don’t trust a guy without a dark side. Call me old fashioned.” Tony shrugged
“Well let’s just say you haven’t seen it yet.” Steve glowered at him, his temper starting to rise. He couldn’t help but feel pissed at Tony, because if it wasn’t for him they wouldn’t even be in this mess.
“You know this is what he’s trying to do right?” A soft voice spoke and Steve turned to see Katie setting a tray of drinks down behind them. They both turned to look at her “Ultron is trying to tear us apart.”
“Well I guess he’d know.” Steve jerked his head in Tony’s direction “Whether he tells us is a bit of a question”
“Banner and I were doing research-”
“That would affect the team” Steve picked up another log. His voice was gaining momentum, and Katie let out a groan, she knew he was getting angry.
“That would end the team” Tony said simply, “Isn’t that the mission? Isn’t that the “why” we fight, so we can end the fight, so we get to go home?”
Without so much as a huff of noise, Steve ripped the log he was holding apart with his bare hands in a fit of temper that aroused Katie far more than it should have done. Tony raised his eyebrows slightly and Steve’s chest heaved as he regained his composure. He turned to look at Tony and spoke, his voice calm and measured.
“Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts, innocent people die. Every time.” He spoke softly but sternly, trying to make his point. Loki, Hydra, SHIELD with Insight.. now this.
“I’m sorry. Mr. Stark,” Laura headed across the lawn towards them all. “Uh, Clint said you wouldn’t mind, but, our tractor, it doesn’t seem to want to start at all. I thought maybe you might…
“Yeah, I’ll give her a kick.” Tony smiled at Laura then as he turned to leave he looked back at Steve delivering his next line with the air of a petulant child “Don’t take from my pile.”
“You know if he wasn’t your bother…” Steve reached for a glass of tea, draining it in one and leaving his sentence hanging. Katie took a deep breath and stood up.
“Cut him a bit of slack yeah?” Her eyes flashed. “The Maximoff girl. She got to him too.”
Steve looked down at her and frowned, that was news to him. “But I thought…”
“It was the day we found the sceptre.” Katie said. “She got to him in Strucker’s lab only he didn’t know what it was at the time. And you wanna know what he saw?” her voice wasn’t angry but she levelled Steve with a look that left him with no uncertain terms she was defending her brother “He saw us all dead because he hadn’t tried hard enough.” Steve inwardly groaned as she finished. “That’s what Ultron is about, that’s why he started it again.”
“Sorry, I didn’t know.” Steve shook his head, gently
“Well now you do.” Katie shrugged and decided to change the subject, “Oh, and by the way, what you did with that log back then-” she mimed pulling something apart. “-kinda turned me on a hell of a lot more than it should.”
He grinned and stepped towards her, closing the short distance they were apart “Well, if we go back inside I can…”
“Nice try, you have wood.” Katie pointed the logs
“Yes and I’d kinda like to do something about it!”
“Steve!” Katie spluttered out through her laugh, as she hit him in the chest, mentally making a note toe have words with Sam for teaching him innuendoes and street slang
He stepped back, laughing and rubbing at the spot where her hand had connected with him. He cocked his head playfully to the right, and was about to say something else about the fact he was feeling pretty horny on account of it being a few days since they’d last enjoyed one another seeing as his plans for her and that tight blue dress had been interrupted post the party, but Katie’s attention was taken by something else.
“Lucky!” She grinned crouching down to pet the dog who was jumping all over her, giving out little barks. “Man you got big!” Steve looked down at his girl and the sandy coloured dog, frowning as he noticed it only had one eye.
“Is this the pizza eating puppy you talked about?” he asked, bending down to pet the dog. “Sure is.” Katie grinned standing up as the dog ran off back to Barton after he whistled. “Not so much of a puppy now though.”
She smiled and made her way back over to the house. Steve looked at the pile of logs, then her, then back and picked up his axe again.
Inside, Katie started to help Laura with the dinner, the pair of them working together easily. Steve and Clint joined them in the kitchen not long after, both men sitting at the table with a beer as Lila scrambled up onto Steve’s knee, Steve waving away Clint’s instruction for her to leave him alone, he didn’t mind one bit. Katie had noticed the small girl sat there, talking to Steve and she’d smiled and turned back to her cooking. She was just rinsing off the salad when she looked up out of the window, seeing something that she really wasn’t expecting.
“I don’t believe it.” She whispered as she watched Tony and the tall, bald headed man with the trench coat and the eye patch walking up the path towards them. She turned to Clint and Steve “We got company, boys.” Both men stood up as the door opened, Lila jumping of Steve’s knee. The soldier’s hands went to his hips, his mouth forming a thin line as his eyes fell onto the man in front of him.
“At ease Soldier…” Fury said, a smile creeping across his face as Tony walked into the room behind him muttering about traitors, Maria Hill and ‘Goth Pirates’
****
“Ultron took you folks out of play to buy himself time.” Fury said glass of water in his hand as he leaned against the kitchen counter. “My contacts all say he’s building something. The amount of Vibranium he made off with, I don’t think it’s just one thing.”
“What about Ultron himself?” Steve asked, he was stood in the doorway to the kitchen, leaning against the door frame, arms folded.
“Ah. He’s easy to track, he’s everywhere. Guy’s multiplying faster than a Catholic rabbit. Still doesn’t help us get an angle on any of his plans though.”
Tony shoved the last piece of the chicken he had been eating in his mouth and walked to the sink to pick up a towel to wipe his hands. “He still going after launch codes? “
“Yes, he is, but he’s not making any headway.”
Katie frowned from her seat at the table, opposite Natasha. “Well that doesn’t make sense. Tony cracked the Pentagon’s firewall in high school for a dare”.
Tony smiled fondly at the memory. That had earned him an ass whooping and a half from his dad.
“Yeah, well, I contacted our friends at the NEXUS about that”. Fury continued
“NEXUS?” Steve questioned.
“It’s the world internet hub in Oslo” Banner explained, he was stood behind Natasha leaning against the sideboard. “Every byte of data flows through there, fastest access on earth.”
At that point Lila ran into the room, a piece of paper in her hand.
“So what’d they say?” Clint asked, turning 3 darts over in his hand from his stance a few feet away from Fury.
Lila handed the piece of paper to Natasha, who looked at her, then the paper, grinning and gave the little girl a one armed hug. She placed the paper down on the table and Katie noticed that it was a watercolour paint picture of a butterfly.
“He’s fixated on the missiles.” Fury drained his glass of water. “But the codes are constantly being changed.
“By whom?” Tony questioned. At that point Clint threw the darts straight past Tony, about an inch or so away from his ear straight into the bullseye of the dart board. Tony spun round to glare at him, Clint shrugged apologetically, grinning at the same time. Hawkeye by name, Hawkeye by nature.
“Parties unknown.” Fury said, a puzzled tone to his voice
“Do we have an ally?” Katie asked.
“Ultron’s got an enemy, that’s not the same thing.” Fury looked at her “Still, I’d pay folding money to know who it is”
“I might need to visit Oslo, find our unknown.” Tony pondered, to no one in particular.
“Well, this is good times, boss, but I was kind of hoping when I saw you, you’d have more than that.” Natasha sighed, leaning back in her chair.
“I do.” Nick looked round the room. “I have you.”
Everyone shared a look round the room at one another. None of them were feeling particularly useful if truth be told.
“Back in the day, I had eyes everywhere, ears everywhere else.” Fury continued “Yet here we all are, back on Earth, with nothing but our wit, and our will to save the world. So stand. Outwit the platinum bastard.”
“Steve doesn’t like that kind of talk.” Natasha looked at him.
“You know what, Romanoff? “ Steve’s tone was dead pan. She smiled mischievously.
“So what does he want? “ Fury continued.
“To become better. Better than us.” Katie looked around.
“Right, he keeps building bodies.” Steve agreed
“Person bodies. The human form is inefficient, biologically speaking, we’re outmoded.” Tony mused “But he keeps coming back to it”
“Yeah, when you two programmed him to protect the human race, you amazingly failed” Katie sighed, looking over at Tony then to Bruce, who was looking at Lila’s drawing over Nat’s shoulder, his arms folded, a thoughtful look on his face.
“They don’t need to be protected, they need to evolve.” The Doctor said, not looking up. “Ultron’s going to evolve.”
“How?” Fury asked.
“Has anyone been in contact with Helen Cho?” Bruce glanced around the room.
There was a pause, and then all at once there was a flurry of activity. Tony whipped his phone out and began to dial, Nat and Katie both stood up, Clint hurried out of the kitchen and Fury was also talking to someone as Steve and Bruce began discussing the intricacies of what Ultron was likely to want Helen for, which centred around the regeneration cradle, a larger version of the technology that had healed Clint after he had been shot when retrieving the sceptre.
“If Ultron is really building a body…” Steve trailed off as they all prepared to leave,  his voice dropping
“He’ll be more powerful than any of us. Maybe all of us.” Katie sighed.
“An android designed by a robot” Tony finished.
“You know I really miss the days when the weirdest thing science ever created was me.” Steve raised his eyebrows. Katie and Tony both smiled gently.
“I’ll drop Banner off at the tower. Do you mind if I borrow Ms. Hill?” Fury said, pulling on his trench coat.
“She’s all yours, apparently.” Tony shrugged “What are you gonna do? “
“I don’t know. Something dramatic, I hope.”
Katie found herself slightly concerned that the threat of Fury doing something dramatic didn’t worry her half as much as facing Ultron.
*****
Clint expertly piloted the Quinn Jet low enough for Steve to drop onto the roof of the U-GU-Gin Genetic Research Lab roof.
“Two minutes. Stay close.” Steve instructed as the jet roe again to hover above the building away from any eyes.
A few moments passed and then the crew on the jet heard Steve shout “Dr Cho…are you hurt?”  There was a bit of a conversation which they didn’t hear, but then Helen’s voice came over the comms loud and clear, if a little strained.
“The gem, its power is uncontainable. You can’t just blow it up. You have to get the Cradle to Stark.”
There was another pause before Steve’s voice spoke clearly ”Did you guys copy that?
“We did.” Clint said.
“I got a private jet taking off, across town, no manifest.” Katie read the details on the computer screen in front of her. “That could be him.”
“There!” Clint said loudly, pointing out of the front window of the jet. Both Natasha and Katie moved so they could follow his gaze. “It’s the truck from the lab. Right above you, Cap. On the loop by the bridge.”
The jet scanned the truck, confirming their suspicions with the imaging that they all saw on the monitor.
“It’s them.” Clint continued. “I got three with the Cradle, one in the cab. I could take out the driver”
“No.” Katie instructed. “If what Helen is saying is right, that truck crashes, the gem could level the city.”
“We need to draw out Ultron” Steve spoke on the coms. They all waited for a further update and, thirty seconds or so later, there was a loud bang and he followed up his commentary. ”Well, he’s definitely unhappy! I’m gonna try and keep him that way.”
Katie looked down to see Steve was clinging onto the back of the truck and her heart skipped a beat. Making a decision she strode to wing space of the jet and pressed her palm to the pad besides the large locker that contained her suit.
“You’re not a match for him Cap…” Clint said
“Thanks Barton!” Steve replied, sarcastically.
“We need to get down there, give him some back up…”  Katie called, turning round to look at Nat as she stepped backwards, allowing her suit to form around her.
“Ok.” Clint said, nodding “I’ll give you the cover up top.”
Nat took off her headset and joined Katie in the equipment store, pushing a small coms piece into her ear. She headed to the back of the ship, straddling the motorbike that was propped up at the side.
“He’s lost his shield. I’m gonna drop you as close to it as I can.” Clint advised as he flipped a few controls.
“Roger.” Katie continued with the final checks to her suit, without JARVIS she was flying this thing herself, just as she had been at Klaus’ base so she needed to make sure everything was right. Clint steered them down towards the road.
“We got a window. Four, three…give ‘em hell.” Clint said, pushing the button for the ramp. Natasha sped the bike off and dropped down with a squeal of tyres before taking the jet higher.
“Us girls are always picking up after you boys.” She said gently and Katie headed to the back of the ramp, her scans watching as Natasha picked up Steve’s shield, following Clint’s commentary.
“They’re heading under the overpass, I’ve got no shot”
“Which way? “ Nat asked.
“Hard right… Now.” Clint instructed. Natasha did as she was told. As Clint hovered over the top of them Katie shot out from the back of the jet and swooped down just as Natasha threw the shield up to Steve. Steve caught it and instantly flung it, sent the AI flying backwards. Ultron wasn’t down for long, jumping up and resuming the fight as Katie landed behind the Robot as he sent a blast of power at Steve, who instantly held his shield up as he was catapulted backwards onto the bonnet of the car behind. She fired a repulsor at the AI, causing him to turn his attention to her as he wheeled round and shot back. She flew out of the way as the shot hit the car behind, the screeches of brakes and grinding of metal hit her ears as cars collided on the road.
“You Starks are like insects.” Ultron hissed out. “Annoying and irritating.”
“Yeah well, some insects pact a bit of a sting.” Katie shot out a static pulse from the shoulder of her suit. It immobilised Ultron for a good few seconds, which was long enough for Steve to climb back onto the top of the truck, hitting him once more with his shield. As Ultron fell forward towards Katie she jumped up, kicking out with her boot, pushing him down into the metal of the truck before landing.  Ultron regained control of his functions and the three of them began to fight, Steve and Katie dodging the rays of power as they flew at them, Ultron easily deflecting the beams the Supernova suit sent his way.
“Clint can you draw out the guards?”  Nat’s voice came over the comms.
“Let’s find out.”  Clint replied simply.
Katie fired another static pulse towards Ultron, but he easily deflected it and shot once more at her as she spiralled away.
“You think I’d let you get me with that again?” he growled.
“No but, made you look.”  She grinned, and at that point Clint shot the jet downwards and it fired off a few shots at Ultron, deliberately missing the delicate package the truck contained. It worked and as Katie watched 4 Ultron Sentries fly out and follow the jet upwards. Ultron turned and flew at Steve who spun, slamming him into a concrete pillar by the side of the road. Katie swooped in, firing again but Ultron was ready and caught her with a beam causing her to spin blindly through the air.  With no JAVIS to help, it took her a while to regain control but eventually she righted herself just in time to see Ultron spear at Steve, the two of them crashing into a nearby moving train. She shot forward, putting all her power into her thrusters, speeding up to catch it.
"Heading back towards you, whatever you’re gonna’ do. Do it now.” Clint informed over the coms as Katie dropped down so I was level with the train, looking into the windows.
“I’m going in, guys can you keep him occupied?” Natasha questioned as Katie finally caught up with the right carriage to see Ultron sending Steve flying again, landing hard against a metal door.
“What do you think we’ve been doing!”  Steve grit out, shaking his head, as once again he stood up, and resumed his fight with the AI as Katie shot a beam through the window, catching the robot unawares and causing him to fly out of the side of the train.
As she flew in through the window, the AI came crashing through one a bit further up and the two of them shot at one another, the beams hitting in mid-air and deflecting off one another, blowing a hole in the roof of the train.
“The package is airborne.” Clint informed us, “I have a clean shot.”
“Negative I am still in the truck.” Natasha said.
“What the hell are you doing?” Katie yelled, as Ultron sent a bench of seats towards her, which she blasted out of the way.
“Just be ready, I’m sending the package to you, Clint!”
“How do you want me to take it?” Clint asked sarcastically as Katie looked up through the hole in the roof to see the truck way above them.
“Uh, you might wish you hadn’t asked that.”
At that point Katie was floored as Steve landed heavily on top of her, having been blasted off his feet by Ultron.
“Ow…” he muttered, rolling over and off the top of her. Katie groaned as her head bounced off the inside of her metal helmet and hadn’t even had chance to right herself when suddenly she was lifted off her feet as Ultron’s hand crushed at the neck of her suit.
“Like I said, insect.”  He growled, his grip tightening as she raised both her palms to fire, blasting them both backwards, in opposite directions as Katie crashed into the carriage behind. She sat up and shifted the debris and shot forward, as Ultron came again but he was sent backwards as a blur knocked him off balance- the male Maximoff twin. Ultron took a menacing step forwards and the metal guards shifted red and bent in front of us in a protective manor. The female, Wanda, stood behind Ultron, hands outstretched and glowing red. Ultron turned towards her.
"Please, don’t do this.” Ultron pleaded with her.
“What choice do we have?” Wanda countered.
Ultron turned back around and fired in Steve’s direction. Katie was quicker though, pulling him out of the way as the front of the train blew out. The AI then blasted out the side door and escaped.
“We lost him!” Katie said into her coms, face plate sliding back as Steve made his way to the front of the train, reaching over the driver. “Clint, Nat He’s headed back towards you.”
“Nat we gotta go!”  Clint said.
Steve turned back to Katie, shaking his head, he could find no pulse. The driver was dead and the train was out of control heading straight for the end of the line.
“Nat… NAT? Cap you guys see Nat?” Clint questioned worriedly.
"If you have the package, get it to Stark! Go!” Steve commanded, looking up instinctively as Katie reached his side.
“Do you have eyes on Nat?" Clint questioned once again.
"Go!” Steve ordered once again and it seemed Clint obeyed because there was silence on the other side of the coms. Katie looked at him, both of them worried about our friend but equally knowing they had to tackle the problem in hand. The train crashed through the stoppers at the end of the line and carried on, heading straight through the narrow streets.
“There are civilians in our path.” Steve turned to Pietro, once more resuming command. He nodded and sped off in a blur.
“Can you stop this thing?” Katie asked Wanda. She looked unsure but nodded and blasted red tendrils down into the underlining of the train.
It began to slow, but nowhere near enough for them to avoid the building they were heading straight at. Katie slid her face plate back and Steve held his shield out in front of them, protecting them from the impact, and they felt the train starting to slow down, before it eventually came to a steady stop a moment or so later in a street lined with small trading stalls and shops.
As the passengers scrambled to get off the train Steve and Katie remained where they were for a second, Katie’s face plate once more retracting.
“You’re bleeding.” Steve said gently, wiping at her brow.
“Least I’m still here.” She shook her head. “What about Nat?”
“We’ll find her.” He took a deep breath, looking her in the eyes. “I promise.”
He slung his shield onto his back and the pair of them exited the train. Katie spotted Wanda stood next to her brother who was resting against a wall breathing heavily, hunched over with his hands on his knees. As they approached he looked up at Wanda, waving her away
“I’m fine, I just need a minute.” He assured her.
“I’m very tempted not to give you one.” Steve snapped, giving the twins a hard look. The two Maximoffs shared an uneasy glance
“The cradle? Did you get it?” Wanda asked.
“Stark will take care of it.” Steve told her, his tone still clipped.
“No he won’t.” Wanda said incredulously.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about.” Katie glared at the girl
“He will do anything to make things right.” Wanda implored.
Steve turned and gave Katie a questioning look before he spoke into the coms.
“Stark come in. Stark? Anyone on coms?” The only response Steve got was silence. He looked at Katie who tried as well, getting nothing but static. She then tried to route through her phone, but there was nothing there either.
“Ultron can’t tell the difference between saving the world and destroying it.” Wanda pressed “Where do you think he got that from?”
Katie took a moment to look around, squinting against the sunlight. People were gathering, chattering in Korean and pointing at the train stretched down the middle of the road.
“I saw into his head.” Wanda implored. “I saw what he has planned. It’s not what he said, not what he told us he wanted.”
“Oh and what did he say he wanted?” Katie asked, turning back to her, her arms folding across her chest.
“He said he wanted peace” the boy, Pietro spoke.
“Oh, well…” Katie snapped, looking round nodding and clapping her gauntlet clad hands together sarcastically “Good job”
“Look…” Steve stepped forward a little before his girl lost her temper, his hands grasping the buckle on his utility belt. “This isn’t about sides, or what’s happened before. It’s about how we shut Ultron down.”
“So, what happens now?” Pietro asked.
“That depends on you.” Steve answered, putting his shield on his back, keeping his stance non-confrontational. “You’ve worked with Ultron; you know how he thinks. We could use the help stopping him.”
Wanda snarled, lips curling back over her teeth. “We won’t work with Stark.”
“Well, you kinda have two options.” Steve retorted immediately, before Katie had chance to. The authority emanating from him was immense, his eyes steady. “You work with us, or work with Ultron. Your choice.”
Katie looked up at Steve as the twins both exchanged glances. Eventually she got fed up and sighed.
“I’m going back to check on Dr Cho.” she looked at Steve “And then I’m going home to figure out how we find Nat…”
“Katie… wait…” He started towards her as she turned, making to walk off up the narrow street
“I’m done waiting Steve.” She snapped, turning to look at him. “And seeing as you don’t seem to want to give things a second’s thought, why should I?” “What’s that supposed to mean?” He frowned, running to catch up with her.
“You work with us?” She imitated his voice. “How do you know that she isn’t in our minds, right now, and this isn’t some elaborate scam to get us right where Ultron wants?”
A breeze whipped her hair slightly, and Pietro stood at Steve’s side, Wanda in his arms.
“You move too slow.” the young man taunted looking at them. “We’ll meet you at Cho’s office.”
Katie let out a loud groan of annoyance and walked and out onto the main road, looking around. Steve took a deep breath, she was angry, he knew that. His girl held a grudge, far better than he ever could and he had a feeling that Wanda Maximoff wasn’t going to get round her with a simple apology. But they didn’t have time for that, they needed to get home, find Nat and figure out Ultron’s next steps. And the Maximoffs would be helpful.
Sirens were now flooding his ears and the Emergency services were all over the place, freeing people from the cars, crashed buses, you name it.
“Could use a ride.” Steve turned to her, raising an eyebrow. She glared at him for a moment, before sliding her face plate back down. Without saying a word she gripped his harness at the top above where it held his shield and propelled them both into the air.
Dr Cho was going to be ok. Thankfully. The Scientist kindly offered them the use of her QuinJet, which technically belonged to Tony anyway, but they were grateful nonetheless. As Katie thanked the man who had led them to it, Steve turned to the Maximoff twins.
“Go on.”
Katie felt her mouth drop open as Wanda hesitated and looked to her brother who simply nodded and the two of them boarded.  Katie watched them incredulously before she rounded on Steve and he winced, awaiting the barrage which hit him full pelt.
“I can’t believe you seriously want to take them back to base.” She hissed at him.
“I told you before, they can help.” He replied calmly.
“You’re out of your mind!” Katie shook her head, the petulant child in her well and truly rearing its head “You know what actually, if they’re going, then I’m staying here.”
“For God’s sake Katie…” Steve groaned exasperatedly, running his hand through his hair, his helmet hanging in his left hand “You’re being unreasonable…”
“I’m being unreasonable?” She rounded on him, her cheeks flushing with anger. “You’re the one who wants to take them right into the middle of our base, give them access to all our technology, when we don’t know if they’re still working for Ultron or not!”
“Katie, just get on the fucking jet now.” Steve’s voice was low, but he was angry.  He didn’t have time for this shit, he was tired, worried, and just wanted to get them all together so they could find Nat and end this and she was behaving like a total brat.
Katie looked at him, his eyes were flashing and he had a look on his face she couldn’t ever recall him using on her before. It was enough to shock her into compliance, but only after she shot him the dirtiest glare she could, before she stormed onto the jet.
Two hours later and Katie still hadn’t spoken a word to Steve or anyone else for that matter, she was fuming. Pietro and Wanda had been mostly silent up until that point, exchanging the odd bit of chatter between themselves in Sokovian, but neither approaching either of the other two until Pietro came to the cockpit.
“Miss Stark, I’m sorry, but please, do you have a spare jacket? My sister is cold.”
Katie glared at him, then looked to the back of the jet where Wanda was sat on one of the chairs, her knees pulled up to her chin. Damned it, despite everything Katie felt a small pang of pity for her.
“Sure, just give me a second.” She answered, a little gruffly but less angrily as she stood up out of her seat.
Steve had to smile, despite everything she wasn’t callous, and she knew what it was like to be cold and frightened. Katie glanced down and caught the look he was giving her and she glared at him.
“I will slap that smirk right off your face.” She threatened. Immediately he held his hands up, palms facing her in an “I’m sorry” motion and she walked over to the back of the jet and started looking in a few of the cupboards. Eventually she found a black fleece jacket, emblazoned with U-Gen logo, along with a blanket. In one of the other cupboards she found bottles of water supplies along with some snack bars and bags of chips.
“Here.” She walked over to Wanda and handed her the jacket and fleece.
“Thank you.” The teenager pulled the fleece around her.
“You hungry or need a drink?” Katie offered.
They looked at one another.
“I’m not going to poison you.” She rolled her eyes.
Wanda nodded and Katie handed her a bottle of water and Pietro took a granola bar from her and a bag of chips. Katie glanced at the twins and then suddenly had to ask the question that was on the tip of her tongue.
“Why do you hate us so much, the Avengers?” She blurted out. Steve turned his head slightly so he could listen in.
“I don’t hate the avengers. I hate you and your brother. Well I did. I don’t know maybe I still do.”
“But why?” Katie said, puzzled “You don’t know us?”
“Our home was bombed.” Wanda said, looking at her hands “It hit 2 floors below and blew a hole in our floor. Our parents fell but Pietro grabbed me and we rolled under the bed.” “The second one hits.” Pietro continued gently “But it doesn’t explode. It just sits there, three feet from our faces. And on the side of the shell is painted two words…” “Stark Industries” Katie swallowed, suddenly understanding. “You know we shut the arms side of the business down once we both realised the damage it was doing. I know that doesn’t absolve us of any guilt but…my brother is a good man, maybe he doesn’t always get it right but he tries.”
“But that is my point.” Wanda pressed “Ultron…he wants world peace, but he thinks the way to do that is to kill people, innocent people.”
“That’s not what Tony wants” Katie pressed
“But he created Ultron.” Pietro joined the conversation
“Yes, because of you!” Katie implored.
“Sorry, because of us?” “You made him see something, in Strucker’s lab. A vision, a vision that showed all of the Avengers dead, the world ending and Tony was left alone because he didn’t try hard enough to stop it.” At that point Wanda and Pietro exchanged glances as she continued “You made him believe he needed to do something, something more and Ultron was the result. He was supposed to be the thing that Tony thinks we need, something to bring peace…”
“You know, maybe we aren’t that different to Stark after all.” Pietro broke the moment or so silence that had descended. “I mean, we volunteered for HYDRA.”
“They said that they would make us super-human, like your Captain America over there.” Wanda sipped her water and Steve’s eyes flickered over the back of the jet for a moment before he turned back to the front. “Then we could fight…”
“They didn’t say what it would cost.” Pietro spat. “The experiments. The constant pain.”
“Guess we all made bad decisions for what we thought were the right reasons.” Katie shrugged “What matters now is how we fix this mess.”
With that she left them to it, taking her drink and one for Steve to the front of the jet.
“Thanks.” he said gently
“I assume you heard all that.”
“Super sensitive hearing, Doll, what can I say?” He smiled. She rolled her eyes. “You still pissed at me?” She raised her eyebrow at him, and with a teasing note chastised him. “Language.”
Steve smiled, reached over for her hand and drew it up to his face, pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles before he let go and took a drink of water, before he glanced back out of the front window of the jet.
An hour or so later they managed to get through to Clint on the coms.
“Any news on Nat?” Katie asked him.
“I’m trying the old fashioned way. That should avoid Ultron. I’ll find her”
“I don’t doubt it Hawkeye.” She smiled.
“What about Stark and the cradle?” Steve asked.
“In the lab with Banner, why you ask?”
Katie glanced at Steve, his jaw set tightly but that was the sum total of the reaction from him. He didn’t want to voice what was on his mind and risk pissing her off even more. Instead he chose his words carefully.
“Just… well, the twins told us what’s in that Cradle and Ultron’s plans for it. I’m worried Tony could start something he doesn’t understand.”  “Twins? The Maximoffs?” Clint asked and then he let out a groan “You’re bringing them here aren’t you?”
“You gotta trust me on this one, Clint.” Steve sighed “They’ve seen Ultron’s end game. They want to help us fight him.” “Yeah well I’ll make my own mind up on that one, I’ll see you when you get back.” “Great…” Katie sighed “Now he’s pissed as well.”
**** “I’m gonna say this once!” Steve’s voice was loud
“How about "nonce”?” Tony shot back.
“Shut it down!” Steve pointed at the cradle.
“Nope, not gonna happen.”  Tony shook his head.
There had been a bit of a fight in the lab, shields being flung, repulsors fired, and then Thor had turned up, supercharged the cradle, and it had gotten even stranger when a red man, an android had emerged.
“I’m sorry,” he said sincerely, in JARVIS’ voice “That was, odd. Thank you.” He added nodding respectfully to Thor, before his unnervingly human-looking eyes trailed over Thor thoughtfully. Then he rolled his shoulders and a cape of his own appeared and flowed down his back.
“Thor, you helped create this?” Steve asked
“I’ve had a vision, the world, where it starts, all hope and life and at its centre, is that.” Thor responded pointing to the gold stone in the middle of the man’s forehead.
“What the gem?” Banner asked in confusion. Thor nodded.
“It’s the mindstone,” He explained. “One of the six infinity stones, the greatest power in the universe and it is unparalleled in its destructive capabilities.”
“Then why would you bring it to life?” Katie asked, taking a deep breath, folding her arms.
“Because Stark is right.” Thor said.
“Oh, it’s definitely the end of times.” Bruce sarcastically to Tony’s shocked but proud expression.
“The Avengers cannot defeat Ultron.” Thor continued and the red man politely cut in.
“Not alone.”
“Why does your vision sound like JARVIS?” Katie questioned still cautious of this new being.
“We reconfigured Jarvis’ matrix, to create something new.” Tony walked up towards his masterpiece and examined him.
“I think I’ve had my fill of new.” Steve replied sarcastically.
“You think I am a child of Ultron.” The red man stated rather than asked.
“You’re not?” Steve replied suspiciously still glaring.
“I am not Ultron.” He answered simply. “I am not JARVIS. I am…” He looked down at his hands as if they would hold the answer.
“I looked in your head,” Wanda stated stepping towards him. “I saw annihilation.”
“Look again.” Vision responded in the same simple tone.
“Ha, her seal of approval means jack to me.” Clint snorted, Katie found herself inclined to agree.
“Their powers, the horrors in our heads, Ultron himself, they all came from the mindstone.” Thor said, looking round “And that is nothing compared to what it could unleash, but with it on our side-”
“Is it?” Steve cut Thor off then turned aiming his next question at him towards the red man, needing to hear confirmation “Are you, on our side?”
“I don’t think it’s that simple.” Vision answered truthfully.
“Well it better get real simple real soon.” Clint said seriously.
“I am on the side of life,” Vision continued, “Ultron isn’t, he will end it all.”
“What’s he waiting for?” Tony asked.
“You.” He stated easily, looking around at us all.
“Where?” Katie pressed.
“Sokovia.” Clint supplied helpfully. “Yeah, he’s got Nat there too.”
Katie looked at Clint who raised his eyebrow slightly and he shrugged. He’d found her, just like he said.
“If we’re wrong about you,” Bruce said approaching the man. “If you’re the monster Ultron created you to be…”
“What will you do?” The red man asked and Bruce stayed silent.
“I don’t want to kill Ultron, he is unique, and he’s in pain,” Vision paced slowly around the room, “but that pain will roll over the earth, so he must be destroyed. Every form he’s built, every trace and presence of him. We have to act now. And not one of us can do it without the other.”
He turned back to look at everyone in the room individually, then he did something completely unexpected as he picked up Thor’s hammer from the table. Steve felt his eyebrows raise in shock whereas Katie was looking at Thor, her mouth open, the god was wearing a look of utter confusion.
“There may be no way to make you trust me, but we need to go.” Vision finished holding out the hammer for Thor to take. Thor took his weapon back and the man walked away.
There was a moment of silence before Thor coughed.
“Right, well done.” he said awkwardly patting Tony on the shoulder and followed the red man out of the room.
“Three minutes, get what you need.” Steve announced.

Yamguchi x Reader (Meeting the team)
A/n: I don’t know how this ended up so long. Not my best writing for sure, but I got it done.
Warnings: Little bit of angst from slightly insecure reader but it ends in fluff don’t worry.
Words: 2k
Disclaimer: I don’t own Haikyuu or any of its characters. All rights belong to Furudate-sensei.
(Story below cut)
“Why haven’t you met the volleyball team yet?” The vice-president of the student council asked you as the two of you walked towards the office to hand in a stack of club forms. “Isn’t your boyfriend part of the team? I heard they have a really big tournament coming up.”
You gave a bashful smile to your upperclassman, “He always insists on picking me up from the student council room since we end club activities around the same time. I guess I never really had time to think about it.”
“Hm, I guess that makes sense. You are the first year representative, so it’s not like you have a lot of free time.” With a contemplative look, she continued, “Still, they seem like a close team, so you should probably at least introduce yourself.”
Before you could respond, you realized you had reached your destination. Putting the conversation on hold, you went in and briefed the teacher in charge of student council supervision on the changes in clubs from the previous year’s. Despite being only a first year, you had been placed in charge of managing club activities while the president focused on other areas of the school. Of course, you had the vice-president to help, but it was a time-consuming task you had thrown yourself into on your first day in your determination to prove yourself.
Once everything was settled, the two of you walked out of the office towards the student council room. The silence gave you time to think about what the other girl had said. Maybe she’s right? They do seem important to him. You thought to yourself.
Seeing your face scrunched up in concentration, your upperclassman laughed, “Are you thinking about your boyfriend?”
You blush at the fact that she read you so easily. It was one of your many traits, but you never got used to how easily some people could read you.
Ruffling your hair as she often did to her kohai, she smiled and pointed in the direction of the gym, “Why don’t you go over there now? We just have to record our hours and tidy up the room a little, and I can do both for you. Go surprise him!”
Feeling encouraged by your senpai’s enthusiasm, you nod gratefully and run until you hear the tell tale signs of squeaking shoes on the gym floor. With your adrenaline running high, you don’t hesitate going through the door but regret your decision as soon as you feel all eyes turn to you.
A beat of silence passed.
“WOAAAHHH A PRETTY GIRL CAME TO WATCH OUR PRACTICE!” A short boy with spiky brown hair shouted. Stars were practically shining through his eyes.
“Thank you Kami-sama for blessing us with this sight.” A bald boy said with his hands clapped together as if he were praying. If you squinted you could almost see a holy light shining down on him.
“Pretty!!” The short orange haired boy blurted out. Wait, is that Hinata? You briefly wondered before your view was blocked by a tall figure.
“Y/n? What are you doing here?” Your boyfriend asked while shielding you with his frame and grabbing your hand.
“Hehe,” you chuckled nervously. Hopefully he wouldn’t get mad, not that Tadashi has ever really gotten mad at you before. “Surprise?”
A blush spread over the green haired boy’s face. It didn’t take much for him to get flustered. Honestly, the fact that he is dating you still baffles him despite the months you’ve been together. Seeing your slightly nervous smile made his stomach flutter with butterflies.
“Oi, why is this shorty disturbing our practice time?” An irritated voice came from behind your protective wall.
You could see your boyfriend’s face visibly pale. Wondering why he seemed more nervous than usual, you peeked around him only to see a tall, cold looking blonde haired boy. He was staring down at you with a sneer as if you were more disgusting than the dirt on his shoes.
Well excuuuuse me.
Feeling the rare rebellious side bubble up in you, you stepped out from behind your boyfriend and marched up to the taller boy. Jabbing your index finger into his chest, you glared fiercely at him, “And who do you think you are to be so rude to someone you just met. It’s not my fault you guys stopped practicing just because I walked in. If you care so much, why don’t you go play by yourself over there?”
As soon as you finished your rant, you realized what you had just said and who you said it to. Oh my god I just yelled at my boyfriend’s teammate. Tadashi’s probably so embarrassed by me.
A familiar hand stopped you in your thoughts. Looking up, you saw your boyfriend glaring at the blonde boy. The laughter from his other teammates at your outburst suddenly died down as they took in the sight before them. Even blondie seemed confused at the situation.
“Tsukki.” Tadashi said in an eerily calm voice. You had only heard him use this tone once and it was when he had found you being hit on a guy who refused to take no as an answer. “I don’t know what’s been wrong with you lately, but I won’t tolerate you insulting my girlfriend. I don’t care that we’ve been best friends for years. She did nothing to deserve your rude comments.”
A few chokes were heard coming from the other boys but were quickly silenced by the grey haired boy. A shocked expression flashed across the blonde boy’s, Tsukki you reminded yourself, face before it quickly shifted back to an annoyed one. You were prepared for more insults, but instead he just sneered at you again and walked away.
The atmosphere felt heavy, but your boyfriend simply grabbed your hand once more and gave you a bright smile. You gave him a weak smile in response. A sinking feeling settled in your chest. This hadn’t been your intention. You didn’t want to ruin his relationship with his teammates much less his best friend.
But why haven’t I heard of Tsukki before if he’s Tadashi’s best friend? You wondered as you were guided by the team manager to a spot where you could wait for the rest of practice to be over. Surely he would’ve wanted me to meet him, right? Unless… he was ashamed to have me as his girlfriend.
Your thoughts continued to spiral as the practice wore on. As the boys continued playing, you could no longer focus and decided to head out for some fresh air. You wondered if you should just head home. It would be bad if your presence caused even more trouble for Tadashi. He’s been nothing short of the perfect boyfriend for you; the least you could do is not cause tension between him and his teammates.
As you started heading towards the exit, you heard someone calling your name. Turning around, you saw Sugawara, whom you’ve talked to before since he was the vice captain, calling out to you.
“Sugawara-senpai, did you need something from me?” You asked politely. The tears that had been about to spill still lingered but only if you looked close enough.
Giving you a sympathetic look, he said softly, “Why don’t you wait a bit. I’m sure Yamaguchi-kun would want you to stay.”
“I’m not so sure about that.” You mumbled quietly, almost to yourself.
“What makes you say that?”
You hesitated not knowing if you should tell him about your insecurities. When you looked up, you locked eyes and saw only an almost motherly compassion in his eyes. That was all it took for your worries to come spilling out.
“Tadashi talks about you guys all the time and how much he wants to help the team make it to nationals. And he works so hard every day! I’ve seen him nearly collapse from exhaustion because he decided to practice his float serves. Since you guys are so important to him, I just wanted to meet you all but instead I made a big mess. And, and,” you hiccup a little, tears streaming down your cheeks, “I guess I just thought if I were important to him he would have told you guys about me… but clearly that wasn’t the case because his best friend didn’t even know who I was.”
“Y/n…” A familiar voice called your name. Your eyes widened in shock. When had Tadashi come out… scratch that, when had the whole team come out?
You didn’t have time to question it before you were engulfed by a warm hug. Instinctively, you hugged Tadashi back. You could feel him shaking slightly as he whispered in your ear, “Please don’t ever think you’re not important to me. You’re the most important person in the world to me.”
The tears that had been pricking your eyes turned to tears of happiness at his words. You pressed your face closer to his chest where his heart was beating a mile a minute.
“Are you done?” A familiar flat voice came from behind your boyfriend.
A sense of dejavu washed over you. Instead of getting angry like last time, you shied away from the blonde haired boy. You peeked up at your boyfriend and was shocked to see him glaring even more harshly at the other boy.
Not wanting another incident, you stepped out from around your shield. You met his eyes, “I know you don’t approve of my relationship with Tadashi, but you aren’t his parents. I don’t need your approval to date him. Hopefully we can sort out our differences because I’m sure as Tadashi’s best friend you also don’t want to make him choose sides.”
“Tch,” He grunted. His eyes never left yours as he assessed your sincerity. After a beat of silence, he turned away, grumbling out, “Whatever.”
The hope you had at reconciling with him died as you watched his retreating figure head back into the gym. You didn’t even see the knowing looks on the other boys’ faces as they, too, headed back inside to give you some privacy. Feeling disappointed, you turned to your boyfriend to apologize only to stop when you see an excited look on his face.
“Tadashi…?”
“How did you do that? Wait it doesn’t matter! Thank you for being patient enough to deal with him for me.” He cried with sparkles in his eyes as he glomped you with another hug.
“But, he just… what?” You spluttered in confusion.
Laughing a little, Tadashi explained, “That wasn’t him dismissing you. That was his way of saying that he accepts and respects you which is more than I was hoping for.” He looked at you shyly, “I was kind of afraid you would leave me since I had a best friend like him. He’s not a bad guy, but he can be a little insensitive to others.”
Slapping him on his chest, you glared, “Excuse me, cut me some slack. Our relationship means more to me than you having a salty best friend.” You paused thinking about how ready he looked to fight his best friend for you and said, “Thank you for sticking by me. I know we’ve only been dating for a few months, but you are my most precious person and I just want to make you happy. I’m glad you don’t have to choose between me and your best friend.”
Something wet dripped onto your cheek and you peered up to see tears streaming down his cheeks.
“Wha- wait don’t cry!” You try to console him but he stops you.
“Y/n. I love you. I love you so much. Will you… will you wear my jersey to the Interhigh Spring Tournament?” The hope shining in his eyes makes your heart melt into goo.
“I would love to Tada-kun. I love you too.” You tell him, bringing him back into a close embrace. The two of you stand there hugging for a while longer simply enjoying each other’s presence.

Fuckin’ Legit
Pairings: Reader x Bucky Barnes Summary: Follow up to Fuckin’ Teamwork, based off this ask. A/N: More silly shenanigans. Dumbass reader :) 2.1k words
Bag of Tricks Masterlist
Tumblr media
Bucky watches from a distance as you hurl through the air and land right heel-first on the training dummy, knocking its head off and making it bounce off the floor with enough force to lodge itself into the ceiling. The room of SHIELD recruits clap and cheer, and when the dummy’s head flops back down you kick it like a hacky-sack at Maria Hill.
“Great demonstration,” Hill catches the head and tucks it under her arm. “Are you interested in teaching a course in hand-to-hand combat with a focus on aerial recovery? Legitimately?”
“Only if you promise not to fall in love with me.” You send a wink at her and then, as soon as you see Bucky’s bewildered face through the other side of the glass, you leap after him. He’s convinced you’re dumber than a bag of rocks, but you’re not deterred by it—especially not after Maria Hill’s validation. Puffing your chest, you skip forward, “Hey, Buck! I’m legit!”
Immediately, you trip and face plant into the nearest surface. The room collectively hisses in discomfort.
“I take that back.” Maria hurriedly ushers the recruits out before they can witness anything else.
Bucky slips through the door and roughly yanks you up by your elbow, wincing when your nose reveals a line of blood dripping into your mouth. “Legit, my ass. Come on. Stark called for us.”
-
The air in the conference room is stagnant and overwrought with a million unsaid—unscreamed—expressions. Tony pivots on his lifted heels, finger jabbing toward the big screen where a dark and grainy image is projected.
“Care to explain this? Friday pulled it from a broadcast coming from the cell.” He narrows his eyes at you as you slump down into the swivel chair until only the top of your head shows. “How about you?” Tony gestures to Bucky.
Tony has a laser pointer in his other hand, and he shines the red spotlight on the picture where Bucky’s knees are bent and planted to the ground. The dot trails over his thigh and then over the smaller frame beneath him.
You’re there, arched upward into his torso, legs hooked around his tapered waist, heels digging into his spine. Four of his thick flesh fingers are shoved inside your mouth, pulling your cheek open, and the dim light catches a sliver of your wet tongue. His other forearm is pushed onto your sternum, holding you down.
It looks bad.
It looks like Bucky is dry humping the daylights out of you in an abandoned Hydra facility.
Sam erupts into a screeching laugh when he finally pieces it together, pitching forward until he’s flattened against the wood table. “Ho-Homygod--- This is the best day of my life. Is this the cyanide incident?”
Bucky is red from head to toe.
Natasha rolls her eyes and slides away from the table. “Tony, she ate two cyanide capsules. Barnes was wrestling them out of her mouth.”
Tony stiffens for a moment as he ponders the truth behind her statement. Then, he quirks his head like an owl, flares his nostrils, and stoops beneath the table to find you resembling a boneless pile of flesh.
“Everyone is dismissed.” He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose in irritation. “I wish I could fire you.”
A quiet whimper escapes your lips, the most pathetic noise to ever come from a human being. “But…” You whine pathetically, “I’m legit.”
-
A few nights later, you find yourself sneaking through yet another dusty old hideout. Surprise, surprise, Hydra is bad with maintenance and loves asbestos.
Steve made you an outline of all your tasks on his mission, written in all caps, folded neatly, and shoved it into your back pocket before departure. You skimmed over it on the plane before crumbling it up. The first bullet point had glared: NO CANDY.
Tightass.
You easily clear the wing and dispatch your status to Sam who is waiting patiently in the jet, fingers on the console. Bucky is patrolling the perimeter and you are taking the east side while Redwing zooms through the west.
There have been trip wires (newbie shit) and also surprisingly advanced attempts at entrapment so far (motion sensors, temperature regulated alarms). They’ve all been expertly pulled apart and rewired and you are taking a short break fucking around in the hallway, peering at dusty paintings of – some old dead bald guys. You take a picture of one and send it to Tony, labelled it’s like looking into the future.
Chortling, you continue down the corridor aimlessly until you hear a creak.
The knife in your hand is blade-first and coming down hard on the body sneaking up until— “Oh Barnes!” You cry happily, tucking it back into the strap on your wrist. “Good. You’re here! There’s only one more room—I’ve been crushing it.”
Literally two seconds after you say that, you turn the corner and run face-first into the door. Bucky pauses as if he doesn’t quite register what just happened before slowly reaching forward and gently applying pressure to the handle.
It’s written all over his face: you’re an idiot. You are seriously lacking some brain cells.
He leads the way carefully, swatting cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and taking stock of each corner, rifle pointed forward and alert. Behind him, your boots thump noisily against the floor and a chair is tipped over when your arm crashes into it.
Bucky spins on his heels and catches the chair before it can fall on top of what looks like a very obviously placed … box.
It’s a box.
A giant red box is on the floor, outlined with a square of white tape. Two abnormally unsoiled items in a room made almost entirely out of forty-year old dandruff. Your hands are already on both sides of it before Bucky can knock you out of the way.
“Don’t!” He screams because fucking anything could be under there!
A wild animal! A toxic chemical! A bomb! Snakes, for fuck’s sake! His eyes widen at the fading shadow cast on the floor as you lift the top away. Then, his heart stops beating.
It’s a slice of cake. And a cup of tea. A single slice of vanilla sheet cake neatly decorated with a blush-pink rose and two perfectly piped green leaves. The faint smell of jasmine wafts into the air.
Bucky barrels into you before you get the chance to lick your lips.
“Wilson!” He calls into the comm as you push his face away with an offended yelp, “They’re in the east side—set a trap for us! Get over here and bring your stupid bird too! I swear to God—NO! DO NOT!”
 -
In the hovering Quinjet, Sam Wilson leaps to his feet and swoops out of the cabin, wings folded as he dives. “Come again?!” He taps on the comm wedged inside his left ear, “Barnes!?”
“-- fuck-- gonna—fucking--- stop BITING ME!”
A furious row of explosions blare in Sam’s ear as he banks a sharp left and lands on two feet, tearing his way inside the facility, checking on his wrist all the while. Redwing’s camera is glitching, but he can make out flashes of gunfire and what looks like at least five bodies, not including his two teammates. Bursts of white erupt on the screen and Sam’s heart picks up a tremendous pace before he kicks the door down, pistols out and aimed.
A silence smothers the room before grunting and screaming erupts again over Sam’s shout of, “What is going on in here?!”
-
“And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the exact moment I came upon my fellow Avengers,” Sam pauses, waving his hand with a bow at the image projected on the conference room screen.
Friday pulled another image from the broadcast before Sam shot out all the cameras in the facility.
It seems that the previous video of you eating cyanide had been intercepted through a bounced signal from the original recording’s output and those on the other end decided you were enough of a proper imbecile to be tricked by something as simple as a slice of cake.
They weren’t wrong.
Tony’s laser is in Sam’s hand and he points the dot in flashes five times, “Dead dudes. Check.” The dot moves on, landing on two splayed out legs before it runs up the side of Bucky’s body pressed to the concrete. “Barnes. Check.” Bucky shuts his eyes and slams his head into the table. “And… here we have this.”
Sam points to you, bottom lip clenched tightly between your teeth as you lurch forward, one hand outstretched and smeared with frosting while the other holds your torso barely an inch from the ground, paying no mind to the two elbows digging into your stomach. Sam points again to where your crotch is pushed right into Bucky’s face.
“Jesus Christ.” Steve mutters, flushing red, “I wrote you directions for a reason…”
“Excuse me,” You huff, “Cake is not candy.”
“Really?!” Bucky snaps, “That’s the hill you’re going to die on!? You ran into the door! You knocked over a chair! You looked at the one thing that did not belong in the room and you picked it up even after I told you not to!”
Steve jumps back into the grilling, “And if you would have read the rest of the list—NO FOOD AT ALL was number two!”
“Oh yeah!?” You’re near hysterical now, shrieking at the top of your lungs. Stupid men ganging up on you. “What was number three? No fun!? I’m Captain America and I’m such a tightass--”
Bucky cuts you off, throwing his hands up into the air, “Number three was get the blueprints!”
“Oh.”
The room falls silent as you tuck your hand into the pocket of your pants. “Why didn’t you just say so? I nabbed ‘em as soon as I got in there. Marked off the locations of all the cameras and security alarms—not like that matters since Wilson shot them and I disarmed the rest in the east wing. Also, there were corridors and secret entryways not in the file. It’s on here now.”
Carelessly, you chuck the flash drive from your pocket at Steve and it smacks him in the chest. Sam crosses his arms and cocks his head at you, “Shit. Didn’t know you were all that.”
You frolic to the door, “See ya later!”
Three men watch on in shocked silence as you prance down the hallway, banking a sharp right towards your room. Steve stares from Sam to Bucky and then to the flash drive in his hand.
Sam clucks, “You know what… All things considered… the girl is legit.”
-
He calls your name, bangs on the door with a hard fist and when it cracks open, you peek your head out with tired eyes. “Sup, buttercup?”
“Why are you like this? The cyanide? The cake? You had the flash drive the whole time!”
You shrug off what sounds like an accusation, “I dunno. I’m good at my job.” Bucky crosses his arms. “Barnes!” You scold with a growing grin, “I’m legit! I just… you know. Why put all the pressure on myself when you’re around?”
You snort a little, scratch your tummy underneath an oversized shirt absently, and shrug your shoulders repeatedly like you’re dancing. Bucky narrows his eyes. “Are you telling me you’re an idiot because of me?”
“Yeah, Buck. I know you’ll take care of me.”
He freezes. Feels a sudden swell of heat rush from his chest to the top of his head. Bucky opens his mouth to retort, but nothing comes out. He closes it. You give him a sleepy grin, leaning on the door and swinging it wide, faltering against the knob with a yelp.
Swiftly, and true to his character, Bucky catches you with one arm.
Hanging from his hold, body twisted around, you look up into his blue eyes. They’re strangely tender, dancing over your face with an inquisitive glimmer.
The moment shatters when Bucky’s gaze stops at your neckline. “Is that—" he frowns, “Is your shirt on backwards?”
You nod. “Uh huh. Inside out too.”
His eyes slip shut. With a sigh, he drops you flat on your back and turns around. “You’re an idiot. I hate you.”
Down the hallway as he stomps off, cursing the moment the thought you were cute or something… he hears your voice calling.
“I’m an idiot— but I’m legit, right? And I’m your idiot, right? Bucky? Bucky!”
Bucky holds back a grin. Flicks you off behind his back. Legit or not, he would never give you the satisfaction of knowing.

Tumblr media
A/N: Hey Everybody! Hope you enjoy this chapter! I know its a day early from my schedule but I have two finals tomorrow and wanted to focus on those while still giving you guys content. As always, let me know if you want to be tagged whenever I post a new chapter of this fic!
Length: ~2400 words
Warnings: angst. Ill also throw in canon typical violence just to be safe.
Previous - Next
It was quiet as the three of you walked through the woods. The only sound being made when the snow crunched under the feet walking through it.
You kept your eyes on the miniature crossbow that Wolffe had strapped to his back. He held his other in his left hand while he led the way with a burning torch in his right. You would glance back at Cody every now and again to make sure he was still alright. He kept his large crossbow up and ready, constantly checking behind him.
They had given you a short sword while you were all stopped at the armory before you left. When you and Rex had started dating, he had insisted that you get one so that he knew you were safe while he was not there. General Kenobi had been giving you lessons on how to use it whenever he was back from the front. You had become rather skilled with it. General Kenobi even went so far as to say that you nearly matched him when it came to mastery of form three.
You kept one hand on the hilt while the other was stuffed in your pocket, clenched out of fear and because of the freezing wind that blew through the trees.
In the silence, your mind raced with thoughts about Rex. How terrified he must be and how nervous you were that he was out there somewhere, all alone. Your mind kept flashing back to the eyes that you had looked into earlier that night. So beautiful and warm until they were harsh and murderous. Staring you down like you were its prey. The image of a gigantic paw raised, about to strike sent a shiver through your body. You shook your head, trying to wipe it from your mind.
 No.
Rex would never hurt you. He would never hurt Cody. Whatever happened was not his fault. He couldn’t control it.
“Stop,” Wolffe said harshly pulling you from your thoughts. You froze and followed his gaze toward the trees in front of him. His hand tightened on his weapon as he raised it to point in front of him.
“What is it,” Cody said, his voice low.
Wolffe takes a step back, framing your body between his and Cody’s. “We’re being watched,” he said.
You quieted your breathing and listened, still only hearing the deafening silence of the forest around you.
You saw Cody scan the trees, his shoulders tensing as he readied himself for a fight. “Are we far?” His voice had an edge to it as he shifted back into his battlefield mindset.
You had your hand wrapped around the swords grip, readying yourself in case you had to draw it.
“No,” he said, his eye still scanning the darkness. “It’s just around that bend.”
You looked around and saw a faint glow of light through the trees in front of you to the left.
“Y/N, can you see well in the dark?”
You watched Wolffe’s face as he went over his plan in his head. “Well enough,” you said, understanding what he was going to do.
He gave a curt nod. “Good. When I put out my torch, we run to the house. Got it?”
You gave him a small hum and shifted your weight as you heard Cody softly grunt in response.
“Ready?” Wolffe raised his arm and you took a sharp breath in. “Now!” He plunged the light into the snow, extinguishing it. You began bolting toward where you had seen the light, Cody and Wolffe on either side of you. You could not hear anything other than the footsteps and heavy breathing of yourself and the two commanders, but you didn’t dare look behind you to see if anything was there.
The light began to get brighter and brighter before you could make out the shape of a small house, the windows glowing with green light that spilled out onto the snow. You reached the small wooden door and yanked it open. You rushed in and fell to the floor with Wolffe on your tail. Cody tearing in and pulling the door shut once he saw that you had both made it inside.
You took a deep breath as you got up, brushing the dust and snow off of your dress.
“You okay,” Wolffe asked as he put his hand on your shoulder.
You nodded your head and began to examine the interior of the house.
The walls were made of dark red stone and the wood that made up the frame was dark black. There was a lightless hallway on the other end of the room that you had no desire to explore. A table made out of the same stone that surrounded you was in the center of the room, small items outlining its perimeter. The fire in the fireplace glowed a bright green as it curled around the pot that hung over it. Two swords with curved handles and red blades sat in the corner along with a dark robe. The room smelled like an awful combination of rotting flesh and blooming flowers.
“Why are you here,” a voice hissed out from the shadows of the hallway. “Come back so I can give you a matching set, Commander Wolffe?”
Wolffe pulled the other crossbow off of his back and squared his feet, his mouth morphing into a snarl. Cody stepped in front of both of you and put his hand up in front of Wolffe’s chest, holding him back.
“We’ve come to ask for your help,” Cody said, his voice level. He stood straight and bowed his head lightly to show the mysterious figure good will.
The voice stepped out of the shadows to reveal a bald and pale woman. Her face was covered in tattoos and she wore black robes that covered her from the floor up to her neck. She sneered in disgust as she gazed at Cody. “I see that you have finally learned negotiation skills from that coward Kenobi.”
You looked at Cody, and saw his jaw tighten slightly as his face remained neutral. “We are not here to fight you, Ventress. We’re here on business.”
Ventress scoffed. “What kind of business?” Her eyes turned to you and she looked you up and down. She gave an evil and knowing smile before she laughed. “Oh, I see. You’ve finally discovered the little experiment on your brother. I guess that would explain the state of your face Commander.” She chuckled as she walked over to the table in the center of the room. “Although, I guess anything is an improvement for you.”
Wolffe pushed forward, Cody’s arm still holding him back from Ventress. “What did you do to Rex,” he shouted.
Ventress laughed again and waved her hand, a chair appearing below her as she sat down at the table. “Me,” she said feigning innocence as she evilly smirked at Wolffe. “I didn’t do anything to him. I just know of what did happen to him.”
Cody took a small step forward his voice still level and calm. “Then you know how to fix it?”
“Of course I know how to fix it,” Ventress replied with a scowl. “But why would I help half-breed Fett’s like you?”
Wolffe growled and tried to lunge forward at Ventress. Cody turned and held Wolffe back as he screamed at her. “Cody let go of me! What did you do to Rex you witch! I ought to kill you where you stand!”
“Wolffe!” Cody grunted as he held his rage filled brother back. “Calm yourself!”
Ventress held her hands out, summoning her swords to them. She vaulted over the table and raised them to strike at the two brothers that were struggling against each other. Before she brought her blades down, you threw yourself in her path.
“Please,” you screamed your hands coming up in front of you. Her blades halted in her path as she stared down at you in fury. “Please! I’ll do anything! Just help me save him!”
The room turned quiet as the three of them stared at you. Ventress lowered her blades as she contemplated what you had said. Cody had let go of Wolffe and they looked at you in shock.
You stared at Ventress as she turned back toward the table. She set her blades on the cold stone and faced you. “What do you have that I could possibly want?”
You took a step toward her. “I’ll give you anything you ask for.”
“Y/N,” Cody said as he grabbed your arm. You looked back at him and saw the questioning look on his face, wordlessly asking if you knew what you were doing.
Ventress gazed at you with misunderstanding. “Why?” She crossed her arms in front of her. “Why would you be willing to do anything for that half-breed of a captain?”
You heard Wolffe snarl and felt Cody’s hand tighten around your arm. You looked down at the floor and then back up to meet Ventress’s eyes. “Because I love him. He’s my family.” You looked back at Cody and Wolffe, both of their faces softening slightly when you met their eyes. “And so are they.” You turned your face back toward Ventress with confidence. “I would do anything for them.”
Ventress stared back at you in confusion, the room silent. She gazed down at the trinkets adorning the table and ran her hand over one of the curled up purple bow strings. After what felt like ages of silence, she looked back at you, her face unreadable. “You wear a kyber crystal around your neck. Why?”
You reached up to touch the small, color changing crystal that was hidden beneath your dress. Rex had brought it back for you from one of his missions. He said that it reminded him of the way your eyes sparkled in the sunlight. You had no idea that it was the kind of crystal that the Jedi used to forge their glowing swords.
 “How did you—”
“I’ll help you if you give it to me.”
“Why do you want it,” Wolffe snarled out. “Those things are magical. Why would you need it?”
Ventress glared at him and walked up to his ridged form. His hands were curled so tightly around his weapons that his arms started to shake. He growled at her as she got up into his face and pulled off the cloth covering his eye, revealing his scarred face. Her taunts making him vibrate with rage as he tried to restrain himself. “You Fett’s are all so close. Willing to die for one another.” She pointed into his chest and his face contorted in pure anger at her touch. “Well my sisters did die for me. That crystal will let me resurrect one of them. Pull the living force back into her body.”
Wolffe scowled down at her. “There are one too many witches in the world if you ask me.”
Ventress scowled and reached her hand out for her sword again. You put your hands on the hilts and put all of your weight on them, keeping them anchored to the table. “You can take it!” Ventress turned to look at you. “Just tell me how to save Rex.”
She put her hand down and walked over to the other side of the table. She sat down and held her hand out for the crystal.
You opened your coat, grabbed the crystal, and yanked it off of your neck, breaking the string that held it there. “I will not place this in your hand until you tell me.” You stared at Ventress defiantly as she sneered at you.
She waved her hand and two items appeared on the table in a green mist.  A bundle of silver tipped arrows with some rope and a small vine covered in thorns.
“There are three ways to make a werewolf turn back into a human. The first is to kill the wolf that infected them. I’m assuming that you are not yet privy to that information?” You shook your head. “I thought as much.” She pointed toward the arrows in front of her. “The second way is to shoot them directly in the heart with a silver arrow. This will make whoever is afflicted turn back into their human form instantly.”
“We want to keep him alive! We are trying to save him, not kill him,” Cody shouted from behind you, his calm demeanor beginning to crack.
 “Quiet, half-breed!”
You turned to Cody and held up your hand, keeping him from stepping forward. “And the third,” you asked as you turned back to Ventress.
“The third, is to draw their blood using the thorn of the Wolfsbane flower. Once you have done this, he will turn back into a human at sunrise and the infection will have left his body.”
You look down at the items on the table. “Will that keep him alive,” you ask hesitantly.
“Yes. Although I suggest that you take both of these things with you.” She smiled unnervingly. “You never know who, or what, you’ll encounter in these woods. You may find that there is more than one enemy that awaits you in the darkness.”
You looked at her cautiously and picked up the vine. You looked back at Cody, silently asking if you should take the arrows. He nodded warily and you hesitantly reached out to grab them. As you closed your hand around them, Ventress’s hand forcefully pinned yours to the table.
“Ah, ah, ah,” she crooned. “My payment first,” she said holding her other hand out.
You slowly placed the crystal in her outstretched hand, and she released you.
“Thank you,” she said standing up. “Now,” she said with a dark scowl, “Get out.”
You turned and walked toward the door, Wolffe and Cody following behind you. You placed you hand on the knob and looked at them. Cody took the arrows from your hand and split them with Wolffe. They both looked at each other and hesitantly back down at the arrows. They slowly put them into their quivers and looked back up at you, each giving you a reassuring nod.
 “Ready?”
They both nodded, determined looks on their faces. Both of them grabbed the torches that hung on the wall next to the door.
“Let’s go find Rex.” You turned the knob and opened the door, marching out into the cold, dark night.

Pure Blood 30 (Sirius Black x F!Oc)

Chapter 29 // Chapter 31

"You screwed up,” says Juno leaning against my door frame.
I groan as I put more things in my suitcase.
“I've had enough of you.”
"I don't think so,” She smiles and walks up to my side. "It's never enough, little sister.”
I shiver, she reminds me of Isis a little, when she still lived in the house.
“You've always had that… talent, to get in trouble. Especially with Sirius. Our parents saw it as funny and innocent. They never punished you, I thought it was silly because you’re the youngest,” She didn't even bother to help me, she just stared at my suitcase. "But it's all over…” She claps once. "And now neither of our parents can stand you.”
"And that's why you smile like you've never done in your life?”
“Come on, it's not that bad, after all. What if your parents hate you? Sirius has been through it as well, now you’re the same,” She jokes.
I grit my teeth, putting my things in the suitcase and then turning and facing her.
"You can say what you want about me, I don't care, but don't you dare take it out on Sirius.”
"Oh, now you defend him? After what he did to you?" She raises an eyebrow.
"You are standing on very thin ice, Juno.”
"Please, little sister, stop this cheesy nonsense, it’s useless.”
“Not because you didn't have the courage to even speak to Remus, does it mean that we should all be cowards."
My words hurt her, but she recovers quickly and returns to her bitch face.
“It doesn't matter anymore, I don't need that school-kids nonsense. I deserve a good man. Mother has found me an excellent suitor.”
She expects some reaction from me, she wants me to ask her everything about it, but I go back to packing. I don't want to know anything about her commitment or someone else's. Never again. I'm sick of all that circus.
Juno sighs and like a little girl, she huffs and then leaves my room. I roll my eyes. I really need to go back to my true home.
***
My spirits haven't changed, not even while at the station. Somehow, thinking about my friends is not enough to be happy.
It's my last year, and after this, what's next?
My mother is the only one accompanying me to the platform this year, and says goodbye coldly, barely nodding. I get on the train and quickly enter a compartment with unknown people. Two girls from second grade with another boy from third grade, all three excited for their new year, they don't even bother about acknowledging my presence, which I appreciate.
I take the opportunity to get some sleep and prepare for what my new school year has in store.
Upon reaching a new wave of punishment, I take my time to reach the large dining room. Just when I get to the doors I feel a body crash against mine, but instead of falling, her arms go around my neck and she pulls me against her in a big hug. It takes me a few seconds to react, but I recognize my best friend's blonde hair and I circle her waist, feeling the warmth of her hug.
“Hi, Jenna”
"Never in my short life had I felt so much concern," She says when we part. "I'm already sounding like my mother and it's all because of you!”
I smile at her drama.
"Why weren't you on the train with us? I looked for you, but in the end Marlene said that maybe you wanted your space. Since when do you need to have space without me?” She puts her hands on her waist.
“I knew you would be upset, but your girlfriend is right. I just needed time…”
She looks at me worried.
"I'm fine now... I think. Can we have something for dinner?"
"Sure, let's go to the table, you've been alone for some time, now it's your turn to be with your best friend!”
“Okay,” I smile.
We both sat and ate dinner after the sorting ceremony.
"I find it very strange that you didn't even turn to the other table," says Jenna, pointing to the table behind me.
My body tenses.
“I-I… I just want to be with you," I stutter.
I don't understand very well why I don't want to hear from the others, I just don't want to face everything at once.
"Honey, bad excuse. Are you sure you’re alright?"
"I don't know, Jenna, everything that's happened is- it's too much and I don't want to deal with questions or more worried people…”
"Okay, relax. Anyway, the marauders are not there.”
"What?" I ask turning to see the table to realize that it’s true. "Where are they? They’re fine? Is it Remus? Is anyone hurt? Where’s Sirius?"
"Ok, that was my fault,” She sighs. "I shouldn't have said it so lightly…”
“Jenna!"
“Everyone's fine, P. Don’t panic, we’ll take you to them,” She says grabbing her things. "At least it lasted until I finished dinner…”
Jenna guides me through the hallways and I recognize the path.
"Why are we going to the infirmary?" I ask, my heart races.
"I told you they’re all fine, but maybe one of them needs a routine checkup…” She says with a grimace.
We arrive at the infirmary at the same time that James, Remus and Peter leave, almost colliding with us.
"Boys? What's going on?"
"Hello, Persephone,” says James.
"Is Sirius inside? What happened?" He frowns and looks at Remus for help.
"Didn't anyone tell you?" He asks. Remus shakes his head and takes my hand, pulling me away from the others.
"Just tell me, Remus,” I say on the verge of crying.
"Breathe and relax, Percy. I just found out that the letters we all tried to send you weren't read. This…” He scratches the back of his neck. “This is complicated, but I think Sirius has to explain it to you. Madame Pomfrey is changing the bandages…”
"Bandages?" I screech.
Before he could get into the infirmary, the door opens and Sirius comes out as he adjusts his sweater.
"Thank you, Madame Pomfrey!" He yells and shuts the door. "Remus, can you help me out–? Oh…” He stops when he sees me.
He has some bruises on his neck and a cut that seems to be healing. But that's not what surprises me the most. His damn smile is what breaks me.
"Hey, pretty lady,” He says, but I stretch out my arm to stop him. "What's going on?"
I frown.
"What's going on?" I repeat angry.
"We'd better go…” James says.
"I'm in trouble?" Sirius asks when everyone leaves, scratching the back of his neck.
I can't help but hit his shoulder and he complains.
“I barely get to school and I don't see you at the Gryffindor table, then they bring me to the infirmary because YOU are hurt and now that I'm in front of you, you just- you just smile!?”
My reaction makes him more nervous.
"Okay, I can explain everything, but first you have to relax–”
My hands clench into fists, I walk towards him causing him to recoil until he hits the wall.
“Tell me again to relax and I swear I'll leave another bruise on your eye, Sirius Orion Black!"
"I'm scared," He replies barely above a whisper.
***
"Did I tell you today how beautiful you are?" Sirius says as we sit on the bench in front of the gardens.
"You have ten seconds if you don't want to end up bald.”
"Beautiful inside and out,” He smiles like a little boy, but then sighs and shakes his head. “It's not simple and uh… already had a good time, sorry, maybe I forgot that you did not know…”
I feel a pressure on my chest, and the anger fades a bit. Maybe I was not in his thoughts during the holidays as I thought.
"You forgot?"
“It's not that I didn't think of you, of course I did! But, uh- this is harder than I thought…” He wipes his hands on his pants. “After Avery, when my mother took us home, everything was chaos, more than usual,” His expression makes me nervous. “She cursed, she blamed me for everything. My parents completely lost their minds. I tried to defend myself, but this time I had no other way out, Percy…”
"What happened?" I hold his hand.
“I ran away from home,” He looks down and focuses on our hands. “I took my things and ran away from that stupid mansion. My mother was quite clear in saying that I am no longer her son.”
“But…” he raises his head. "Where have you been all this time?"
His smile returns.
“With the Potters,” Sirius’ gaze softens. “They’ve always been there in every holiday that I’ve been able to share with James,” He gets closer to me. “They treat me as if I were their son, and when I left home, they didn’t hesitate to help me again.”
We were silent for a few minutes. I process everything. I know that Walburga is a woman of character, but I also know that family is something important to her, even though she has horrible parenting methods. She cares what others in her lineage say, as does my family. But is her heart so cold that she didn't care that her first child no longer with them?
“Are you safe? Didn't your parents try to do something?"
"I haven't heard from them since I left, not even from Regulus.”
I try to understand him, he was never happy in the Black mansion, a part of me wants to make him go back, but the other part stops me. The Potters, James has taken care of him, while I couldn't even leave my house. Sirius was hurt and I wasn't with him. My eyes water at the thought.
"I-" The lump in my throat won't let me speak. “They hurt you and I- I couldn't do anything to help you Sirius, I'm sorry…”
"Hey, no, no, no…” His hands cup my face. "It's not your fault, love. Don't cry!” His thumb wipes a tear. “We tried to tell you, but we never got a reply.”
"My family burned all my letters,” I wipe my nose with the sleeve of my sweater.
"I know, my uncle warned us,” He takes a lock of my hair and plays with it. "Everything went very fast. Euphemia, James's mother, helped me with my injuries. The Potters have helped me a lot and I’m sorry that I reacted like this when I left the infirmary, it's just that, I don't know, I think that by not having the pressure of the wedding or even my family, everything has calmed down. I'm sorry…” His arms go around my waist and he draws me to him in a hug.
I hide my face in his neck. Having him so close relaxes me and it is as if I finally breathe again.
"I missed you…” I whisper.
"Me too, Percy.”
I look at his beautiful grey eyes and I notice something different, a small flash, something that had not been there before.
“Alphard told me that you didn't go out at all, are you okay? Shit, sorry, surely you had hell at home and I was an idiot just thinking about my own things. I'm the worst boyfriend in the world. Say it, it's fine, I accept it.”
My eyes widen when I hear one word in particular.
"Boyfriend?"
"Uh, yeah? I am, aren’t I? I thought… you know, after everything that's happened… You don't want to? I don’t know how this works…”
I laugh at his rambling.
“I didn't think we had any labels, I just thought we were… together. But…” I smile feeling my cheeks blush. "Being my boyfriend doesn't sound so bad, does it?”
He laughs and leans down to bring his lips against mine in a tender kiss. He puts his hand on the back of my neck to deepen it. It feels so good to kiss him after so long…
"I don't want to ruin this moment, but…” He says when we part. "Do you want to talk about what happened at your house? You know you can tell me anything.”
I shake my head.
“I just want to be with you and our friends. I want peace."
“Agree."

masterlist
Night fell hastily upon Cherrywood Lane, the Sun eager to hide whilst the moon watched over the neighbours who began to settle down for the night, tucking their children and then themselves into bed. It was the stars that shone the most that night in June, sparkling and dancing along with each other in celebration and love.
After docking Pegasus, the men marched onto a train bound to Surrey, apart from Alex. Joseph insisted on driving him home with himself and Rose, who also encouraged the exhausted, downcast young man. The drive home was silent, Alex being asleep – his head rested on his shoulder as he breathed steady breaths, at peace. Rose caught a glance of him in the back from the passenger seat and grinned at the sight. It was not until they had made the turn into Cherrywood Lane that Rose had noticed from the corner of her eye Alex had awaken – his eyes blinking rapidly trying to remember what had happened, where he was.
The slow squeak of the breaks indicated that they were indeed home, much to Alex’s astonishment. Rose opened her door, stepping delicately onto the paved foot path before walking over to Alex’s side – who had now shakily got out of the car.
When Rose had returned home, the most daunting thing for her was if she was ever going to be the same again. She wondered if stepping through the doors of home would be the same as coming home after a day at the library or maybe a stay at a friend’s house, or if it would be like walking into a strangers home – of someone she had known lifetimes ago.
“Are you ok?” Rose asked quietly to Alex, looking at him through her long eyelashes. He had dried off now, hair no longer a wet mess of curls, his skin no longer soaked with water, but rather just stained with oil. The stitch was still apparent on his cheekbone, along with the cut – it would be for a few days.
“’m not really sure how to answer that question” he replied, expressionless, staring at his home, where his parents were. “You don’t need to, all you need to do is walk through that door” she encouraged, pointing her pointer finger towards his front door. “Why is this so difficult?” he questioned himself, eyebrows furrowing but his eyes never leaving the white door with the numbers ’34’ plated in gold, nailed to the centre. “Because its what you’ve wanted for so long, and now you have it – it doesn’t feel real” Rose studied his face, noticing all his freckles and slight wrinkles by his eyes. “But it is. Your home is here, your family is too.” she continued, Alex’s gaze averting to her eyes, to gain sense of what she is saying. “All you have to do is walk through that bloody door” she smiled softly, Alex taking a deep breath before turning towards his home and walking up to the door.
Rose laced her fingers together in front of her, watching as he brought the back of his hand up to the door, his knuckles tapping it. Knock, knock, kn-. The third knock was cut off by the door opening abruptly. Alex’s fist was still in the air as it opened, his mother staring at him from the other side of that bloody door. She brought her hands up to her mouth in shock as Alex brought his hand down – unsure of how to comfort his mother who was now crying. Before he could do anything else, Mrs Harrington had wrapped him in a tight hug, not fussed about getting her good dressing gown ruined by the grime on his uniform. “My boy! My boy is home!” she shouted, Alex now hugging her back with just as much strength. Rose watched on with a smile as Mr Harrington came into view, Mrs Harrington standing back as he hugged Alex too – hitting him on the back a few times.
Rose glanced over at the hugging family once more before making her way into her own home, heels clicking on the pavement. “Rose! Rose my dear!” Rose stopped in her tracks looking over at the house next door. Mrs Harrington was running over to her, the slippers on her feet almost falling off on the pavement before engulfing Rose in a kind, grateful hug to which Rose returned almost immediately. “Thank you. Thank you for bringing my boy back. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” She spoke into Rose’s ear, her tears dampening Rose’s blouse, “Don’t thank me, Mrs Harrington, thank Alex for surviving” Rose replied, pulling away from the hug with a sympathetic smile. Mrs Harrington placed a hand on Rose’s cheek, smiling greatly, before running back over to her house and engulfing Alex in another hug.
Rose looked on once more, watching as Alex looked up at her whilst still hugging his hysterical mother. She watched as he smiled at her – a real smile. It complimented his face beautifully, dimples pointing into both cheeks and wrinkles gathering slightly by his eyes. Rose smiled back before turning back gracefully to her home, walking up the porch and opening her door, to her home. “Oh Rose, oh dear, I thank the Lord you’re home in one piece, my goodness” It was now Rose’s turn to be suffocated with her mother’s love, Rose wrapping her mum in a tight hug as she smelled the scent of her perfume – home.
Doreen Edwards was the perfect woman. She was independent, yes, but she was also the ideal 1940s housewife. She cooked, she cleaned, she looked after the children, but she was also one of the only female doctors in World War I. There were no two doubts about her, before you could even think of a question she answered it, she had wits – wits which Rose had adopted from her genes. Joseph often said that they had the “same brain, just in different bodies”, the two being so alike.
“Goodness, you’re freezing” Doreen said worriedly, breaking out of the hug and rubbing Rose’s clothed arms to warm her up, “Do you want a cup of tea to warm you up?” Doreen asked, rushing over to the kitchen, placing the kettle under the tap and letting water fill it up. “I’m fine as I am Mum, I’m just going to have a shower and head to sleep.” Rose politely called out, slipping her shoes off her aching feet at the entrance. She walked over to her father, who was sitting at his armchair, drinking a bourbon to wind down after the day’s events. Rose delicately placed a kiss on his cheek – cautious as to whether or not he had recovered from the trauma the day had brought up. “Goodnight Dad” she whispered, pulling away from the arm chair, “Goodnight my girl” he farewelled with a small forced grin, which Rose returned.
She then made her way to the kitchen, where her mother was making herself a cup of tea. “Goodnight Mum” she said, placing a kiss on her cheek as well as Doreen stirred her tea. “Goodnight Rose,” she replied, turning around to face her daughter, “call out to me if you need me, ok?” Doreen grabbed onto Rose’s hand comfortingly, wanting to know that she was here for her and that she knew how today may have affected her psyche. Rose smiled softly and nodded, placing another delicate kiss on her mother’s cheek out of gratitude.
It had almost felt heavenly to have a shower after a long day. Rose was certain that there was nothing better than rinsing out the smell of oil, grime, saltwater and the touch of a man down off and replacing it with the smell of rose and lavender soap which made her skin soft to the touch.
The day’s events she wished to forget seemed to leave with the dirty water and down the drain, though she knew she would be tossing and turning all night in her bed about them.
Though the ones she wished to keep in her mind did so, much like the fragrance of her soap. She replayed the way that Alex’s face had looked in the sun on the lower deck as he stood up for her, how soft his skin felt against her own as she touched his cheek, how peaceful he seemed in his sleep and his heart-warming smile he had given her only moments ago. She wished to remember Alex, though it seemed foolish. She had spent years living next to him, rarely acknowledging his existence, she didn’t understand why she felt this way. She shook her head, turning off the water.
Rose sat in front of her vanity, brushing her clean and dry hair as she looked in the mirror – the way that her hair had looked as she brushed it. It had certainly grown over the past few months, the shiny luscious blonde strands just reaching past her rounded breasts which were covered by her long, pink silk nightgown. Her eyes flickered from her hair to her face. Her pale, clear skin adorned a light blush over her cheeks, she had strong brown eyebrows, an upturned nose and full lips. She knew that she conformed to the ideal woman, so many men had told her, so many women told them how jealous they were of her. But to her beauty wasn’t was what mattered, it was what was hidden within the outer – the soul, the heart and the mind. That didn’t change the views of the rest of the world, beauty becoming her greatest weapon.
Rose strutted slowly, her dress swaying with each step against her legs. She made her way into a large enclosed tent which had been set up as a makeshift office for the commander, Arnold Schober. She knew that he was a key player in the battle of Dunkirk, but not the most important – which was a crucial detail for what she needed to do. He would have the information, yes, but it would not be detrimental for the Nazis if he was gone, she thought to herself, fixing her hair to make her seem more enticing.
“Hallo?” she called out innocently, “Kommandant? (Commander?)” she questioned, walking into the room which was thick with the scent of cigars – the scent choking her nostrils slightly. “Was ist es (What is it?)” Rose stood in front of his desk – her hands intertwined her back – pushing her breasts out slightly. He sat writing on a piece of paper, scribbles which Rose could not read from upside down. She stared at the back of his bald and greying head and sighed slightly.
The commander looked up – opening his eyes a little wider before straightening himself up before clearing his throat slightly. “Was kann ich für dich tun, junge Dame? (What can I do for you, young lady?)” He asked, a slight smirk toying grossly at his lips. Rose began to walk slowly – approaching his desk. “Ich habe einen schrecklichen Tag (I am having a dreadful day)” she spoke – putting a pout on her lips. She placed her hands on his desk – making sure he could see her cleavage to entice him further. “Mein Mann schrieb in einem Brief, dass er mich nicht mehr liebte (my husband wrote in a letter that he does not love me anymore)” she sighed, her fingers running along a groove in the wood.
“Wie konnte ein Mann dich nicht lieben? (How could a man not love you?)” The commander choked out – his fat cheeks turning slightly red. Rose looked up at him with a grin, before walking around his desk slowly and sitting on his side. “Findest du mich schön, Commander? (Do you think I’m beautiful, Commander?)” she asked to which he nodded his head greatly, “Ja, eine der schönsten jungen Frauen, die ich je gesehen habe (Yes, one of the most beautiful young women I have ever seen)” He spoke quickly – desperation in his voice as he leaned back in his chair, placing a dirty hand on Rose’s thigh.
“Kannst du mir zeigen, wie schön ich bin? (Can you show me how beautiful I am?)” Rose whispered innocently, drawing her white dress up her legs slightly. The Commander looked on in lust, his eyes never straying from the tempting skin.
Rose felt her heart thud in her heart, knowing what was going to happen next. She continued to bring up her dress, smiling flirtatiously at the man. He began to trace his finger up her thigh, “ich kann dir zeigen (I can show you)” He agreed, sitting further in his chair. Just as he was about to reach her garter, Rose pulled her revolver out of her garter from the other thigh hastily. He sat back into his chair in shock.
Before Rose could give any second thought, before she could give any mercy, before the Nazis would come in from the alerts given to them by the Commander’s mouth – she loaded the gun and pulled the trigger into the side of the fat German man’s head. The bang from the gun rung in her ears for a while – it was much louder than the gunshots just outside the tent.
Blood began to pour out of the man’s head, dripping onto the grassy floor – his forehead now on the desk. Rose breathed quickly, placing the gun into the man’s limp hand and placing that too on the desk. She had been armed with the pistols which the Nazis had used to cover her tracks as a Brit. Her heart began to speed up – adrenaline coursing through her veins as she gathered all the notes which had been scattered along his desk. She manages to grab an armful of pieces of paper, maps and photographs which she tucked into the secret pocket she had fashioned in the back of her apron.
Rose glanced at the dead Nazi once more, not feeling an ounce of regret – which made her hate herself. She quickly rushed out of the tent – cautiously looking around before running. The S.O.E had told her of a safe house only a kilometre away from the Nazi trenches – where she could sit in fear – feeling anything but safe until they could get her on a boat and send her back to home. Home she thought, her feet still moving quickly against the ground, Oh how I want to be home.
She placed her brush on her vanity surface before standing up, walking over to her window. She shut her casement window, the long white curtains halting their flow with the breeze. Rose looked over at the window opposite her, noticing that a figure was standing behind their own window. Rose tilted her head so she could see clearly through a pane in the window, she needed only to see the eyes dazzle in the moonlight to know that it was Alex.
Alex quickly averted his gaze, noticing that she had caught him looking at her. Rose looked back at him with a small smile perched upon her lips as he glanced back up at her. Alex smiled along with her, as they stared at each other for a moment or two. He had cleaned himself up, his skin completely clean of oil and dirt, his hair once again a beautiful wet mess. My oh my, I don’t think I have ever seen such a handsome man, Rose thought to herself – making herself blush at the thought. “Goodnight Alex” Rose mouthed through the window, smiling a little wider. “Goodnight Rose” he had mouthed back, making Rose’s blush deepen into a darker pink as she stared at his smile. She forced herself to close her curtains, not taking her gaze off him until they were completely shut.
Rose’s smile became a much larger toothy one as she turned around to face her bed, Please Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream of Alex.

Chapter 23: Goodbye Gotham
It was deadly silent that night as Scarlett sat waiting for this plan of Jack's to take place. She had no idea what was going to happen or how but she knew it would be tonight. She chewed on her straight jacket again hoping to free herself, so she was useful when he came to get her. Maybe part of her hoped she could touch him again as well, it had been so very long since she had felt his skin against her own.
He had told her nothing other than to sit as far away from the door as possible. So she sat her back against the back wall of her cell but when the hours passed by and still there was no sound Scarlett began to worry, but then just as she was about to give up hope.
"Working late, Doc?" came an all too familiar voice before a gun shot was heard and a signature cackle.
"La la la la la" sang Joker's voice and she swore she could hear him skipping.
"That one there, big man" said Joker's voice and then there was a strange, groaning sound as the door to Scarlett's cell visibly bent inwards until with a mighty crash and it was torn from the wall and landed with the door still in the frame, inches from her feet flat on the floor. An enormous man with muscles that looked as though they were about to burst out of his own skin, stood in the doorway. His head was mostly bald but there were a few strands that still persisted, though it looked as though he ripped at them with his enormous hands. The man stared at her for a moment before he roared at her so viciously that she felt the spit from his mouth hit her cheek.
"Now, now Aaron, what have we said, happy thoughts. This is a lady and we show ladies respect" cooed the Joker and finally, she could see him. Though he was still dressed in his grey tracksuit bottoms and a grey t-shirt, he was grinning again and she beamed at him. He looked like Joker again.
"Jester, this is Aaron he's helping with our escape," said Joker as he moved into the room and began to cut her straight jacket from her.
"Oh J," she laughed as he pulled her to her feet and he just grinned.
"I got you a gift," he said happily and she smiled before he handed her a handgun with a paper flower stuck onto the barrel.
"I love it," she said and he giggled before he grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the cell.
Aaron the giant of a man was now breaking other patients out. Joker pulled her through the rabble as somewhere above them an alarm blared out. A few guards were on duty but didn't even see Joker and Jester coming as they tried to control the other patients and soon both guards had a bullet between the eyes. It all moved so quickly as Joker and Jester ran through the commotion of the Asylum riot, every guard they came across lay dead by the time they were through.
"I killed that Doctor lady for you," announced Joker as he rounded a corner with Jester in tow.
"Oh how romantic" she laughed and Jack cackled again, before he shot her a look that told he did indeed think his actions were very romantic and that only made her smile more.
They were heading straight for the main entrance, when the beast of the woman Heidi, who had taken pleasure in torturing Jester as best she could, rounded the corner blocking their escape. Her enormous chest was heaving as she stared angrily at the pair. Joker raised his gun towards the woman, but Scarlett held up her hand.
"No, I want to," said Jester in a voice similar to a child asking for a sweet.
"Oh of course, go ahead, princess," said Joker as he lowered his gun. Jester pulled out her own and pointed it at the enormous woman who was staring at her with venomous eyes.
"You weren't very nice to me," whined Jester, shaking her head at the woman.
"Are you going to say sorry?" asked Jester but the woman only sneered.
"SAY SORRY" Joker roared in a voice that was almost demonic.
But still Heidi stayed quiet and so without blinking Scarlett lowered her gun and in a swift movement, fired twice blowing out both of Heidi's knee caps. The gargantuan woman roared in pain and collapsed to the floor.
"I'm sorry" she sobbed lying at Jester's feet.
"Pardon, I didn't hear that" Jester cackled and the woman cried.
"I'm sorry, you psycho bitch!" Screamed Heidi tears streaming down her face.
"Oh, that was the wrong answer," joked Jester happily before she fired again catching Heidi in the throat. Joker allowed her to stay for a moment and watch the woman who had tormented her, choke on her own blood, her eyes desperate. Jester seemed to be filled with life and joy. Once the life had completely drained from her and hole in her neck had stopped squirting, Jester allowed Joker to pull her away and towards the large double doors that lead to the foyer.
Aaron the giant had caught up with them and was breaking through the doors that lead to foyer, behind Jester were hundreds of escapees just waiting to get out. With one enormous push the double door broke apart and opened with such force they ricocheted off the wall of the foyer and swung back inwards catching one inmate off guard and breaking his nose.
Joker somewhat dragged Jester to the front desk and pointed the gun at the guard that was sat there.
"Me and my lady would like to check out, so we will be wanted our things," said Joker as he draped an arm around Jester shoulder, and smiled with a sickly sweet smile. His gun still pointed at the guards head. The guard took a quick look around before deciding it was best not to argue with the hundreds of inmates and especially not with the psychopath pointing a gun at his head. The Guard unlocked the room where all the personal items were kept and Joker smiled.
"Much obliged," Joker laughed before he shot the man in the eye and headed for the room. Joker found all his things smiling at the note on bag which read.
"Name: Unknown
Alias: The Joker
Address: Unknown
Next Of Kin: Unknown"
He snatched up the clear plastic zip lock bag that held all his worldly goods and glanced over at the girl beside him who was holding her own equally large bag.
"Lets get out of her, gorgeous," he said and Scarlett laughed loudly.
He grabbed her hand again and pulled her through the rabble of inmates. The sound of the alarm filled the air still as they made it out into the fresh cool night air, at the bottom of the steps leading up to the asylum sat a lone black car and Joker laughed with triumphant as he led her towards it. The sound of police sirens was breaking through the sound of the Asylum alarm as Joker held the door to the back passenger seat of the car, with one final look behind him he jumped in beside her.
"Go Go," he said excitably jumping up and down in his seat slightly as the car shot off, the blue lights filled the rear view mirror as they headed away from the asylum. Just as Joker was about to lean out and fire at the cop a great lumbering form leaped at the police car and turned it over. Aaron roared at the police officer as he climbed out the wreckage of the car before Aaron lumbered over to him and literally pulled the police officer apart. Tearing his limbs from his body like he were made of wet paper.
Jack's cackles filled the car as it raced away from Asylum and Scarlett turned to him and with both hands she grabbed his face and brought her lips to his. He responded almost instantly as he wrapped his arms around her and brought her as close as possible. They crashed teeth in their sloppy and manic kiss but as they pulled away both were grinning.
Jack peered out there back window of the car and nodded to himself when he saw nothing but empty streets.
"Could we just stop here for a second" Jack called out.
"Sure boss," said the driver and slowly the car pulled to a halt at the side of the road.
Jack held up a finger motioning for her to wait as he got out the car and closed the door before climbed into the passenger seat.
"I've got a problem," said Joker to the driver who suddenly looked worried but made not motion to move.
"You see me and Jester are not going to get caught again. So the fewer people to know where we are going the better, so I'm afraid your services are no longer needed. It's nothing personal" said Jack before he raised the gun and fired.
It was horrific not only had the shot been such close quarters that the drivers head had essentially exploded but also the noise inside the car a reverberated causing Scarlett to become incredibly disorientated. By the time Jack had dragged the body out of the car and dumped it on the sidewalk before getting back into the driver seat, she had only just got her head to focus again, her ears still ringing and her eyes watering slightly.
"We are going to have to leave Gotham for a while," said Jack and he drove the car away from the curb.
"Okay" Scarlett said
"Come get in the front," he said and she nodded and with some difficultly, she pulled herself into the front passenger seat.
"Where are we going to go?" Jester asked as she looked out the window of the buildings rushing by.
"I don't know yet, just not Gotham" Jack didn't say much more after that and Jester watched at the passed by the sign that read. "Now leaving Gotham, Thank you for driving carefully" and she sighed Gotham sure had been a lot of fun.
"Don't worry Gorgeous, I'm not done with Gotham yet, we will be back before you know it." He said reaching across the car and squeezing her thigh slightly and with a grin Scarlet lay her head on his shoulder.
"I love you, Jack," she said and Joker glanced at her on his shoulder and smiled.
"Me, too Gorgeous"

The Satellite Images
A friend of mine showed me how to use Google Maps. I'm sure you've seen it. It lets you use satellite images to look at locations all over the world. A few years ago, I was in a car accident. Since then, I really don't leave the house that often. It's difficult, and the idea of a seeing a car drive by me makes me feel lightheaded. I was fascinated by the fact that I could see all over the world, almost like being there. I could virtually walk down the streets, and it almost felt like I was really there.
I became instantly hooked. It gave me a real eye on the world. I could go to almost any major city, and I did. I'd seen streets in China, Japan, Germany, and England... so many places. I'd even gone to tourist attractions like the Great Barrier Reef and Dracula's castle.
My favorite was to go to random places in major cities and see how many people and animals I could find. The faces of the people were always blurred to protect their privacy, but it was still enjoyable to see them out there, enjoying their life, walking like it was no big deal.
"She must have good taste," I laughed.
I zoomed in closer and noticed the grey bag she carried on a grey and purple shoulder strap. She was walking in a relaxed manner, one hand trailing the wall beside her. I bet if I could have seen her face, I would see that she was smiling. I began to feel a little sad. I let my hands fall onto the arms of my wheelchair and looked at her for a minute more. I wished that I could be there, walking so carefree with her. That wouldn't happen though, until I died. I was stuck in this chair. I sighed and zoomed out of Tokyo. Enough of this for tonight. I turned off the computer and went to bed.
I got up early and decided to look around Paris. Paris was always fun. I liked the look of the city, with all of the old, beautiful buildings and so many people to watch. I randomly zoomed to an area and saw a street, lined with old brick buildings, a few small shops, and an old tan brick church. Ahead was an intersection, and dozens of people walked by. A balding businessman walked quickly past, looking back at an old woman, hair covered with a scarf, carrying a large purse. A curvy woman in black pants that were too tight stared into a store window, and two women led a group of small children around a corner.
I spun the view around a few more times, and then saw something peculiar. Sitting on the bench at the bus stop, were two people. One of them was a young woman with her feet stuck in front of her in a relaxed manner. She was wearing a pair of red sneakers, like my own. I was startled for a moment; as I noticed the black pants, white t-shirt, and black hooded jacket. Her dark brown hair was tied loosely behind her head. A grey bag sat on the bench beside her, the shoulder strap hooked over her shoulder.
"This is crazy," I thought. "It can't possibly be the same woman. This is a different country, different continent even. How could it be her?"
This was stupid. It wasn't as if these were live photographs. They were taken ahead of time and then stored. It's not like she was in two places at once. She could just be a traveler. Besides, without seeing her face, it was impossible to tell it was the same person. Brown hair was probably the most common hair color in the world. Those red sneakers were something I purchased online. I'm sure a million other people did too. I shook my head and went to fix some lunch.
When I got back online, I decided to look at Berlin. I picked a random street, as usual. It looked pretty empty. There were brick buildings lining the streets, looking more like factories than anything else. There were also empty lots, full of long grass and piled gravel. There wasn't much to see at all, really. There was a line of motorbikes and a car with two German flags sticking up from it. After more searching, I found one kid. He looked like he was dressed for school, a jacket thrown over his bag. He was intently looking at some kind of mobile device. I was disappointed. I started to leave, but then I caught something out of the corner of my eye. I turned the view, and there they were. Those damned red sneakers.
She was standing on a street corner, next to some kind of signpost. She had a hand on the post, looking down the street, as if waiting to cross the street. I stared, in shock. How could she be there too? Even if she was traveling, there's no way I would find her every time. Even finding her in Paris would have been one heck of a coincidence, but this? This was crazy. Was this some kind of joke? Had Google decided to play a prank on its users that used their product so much? It would have been a great joke...
I did a quick search, looking for a note about a woman that shows up like Waldo. There was nothing. I looked through articles on strange things you can see on Google Maps, but none of them mentioned the woman that travels the world with you. This was crazy. Had my self-imposed isolation driven me mad? Had I become so lonely that I created a hallucination for myself?
Leaving the Berlin image on my screen, I sent a text message to a friend, asking him to look at the locations. I asked him if he saw the same woman. Then I waited, hands sweating, heart thumping in my chest. I jumped when my phone beeped with a return text message, ten minutes later.
The text read, "I see the lady you're talking about in Berlin. I didn't see her in Paris or Tokyo. Is this some kind of game, or what? Are you okay?"
I didn't respond, instead returning to the locations in Tokyo and Paris. There she was. She was there, but it was different. She no longer sat on the bus-stop bench, in Paris. She was standing in front of it, looking for something in her bag. In Tokyo, she was blocks away, squatting down to pet that calico cat. I shivered. Who was she? What was happening?
I switched the map to Brussels. It was another city street. It was lined with old looking buildings, with shops on the ground level, and what I guessed was apartments above. I quickly scanned the streets. They were empty, other than a stocky woman in a bright blue sweater. I did a second sweep. She wasn't there. I sighed in relief. I couldn't believe I was getting so worked up about this.
It was nothing but a coinci-- I stopped, my eyes frozen on the screen. There was a building at the point of a fork in the road, white with a black-ironwork-framed balcony jutting from the second floor. I hadn't seen her, as I had been looking at the sidewalks. There she stood, standing on the balcony, her head tilted in the direction of the camera, almost like she was coyly looking toward me. My breath caught in my throat.
I switched to Sydney. She was leaning against the wall, inside the doorway of a bright blue Carricks Pharmacy building. London showed her getting ready to step onto a red double-decker bus, her head turned to look over her shoulder. She was everywhere I looked. She stood on a brick sidewalk on a bridge in Venice, she walked across a yellow barred crosswalk in Zurich; and in Hong Kong, and she stood between a Wing Lung Bank and a McDonald's adjusting the strap on her bag. In each picture, she came closer and closer to looking directly at me with her blurred out face.
My heart felt like a terrified bird, slamming around inside my chest. I couldn't catch my breath. I wasn't sure what to do. I couldn't call the police. Should I send screenshots to Google?
I clenched my fists tightly and closed my eyes. Who was she? Was she following me? Was I following her? I wish I could see the expression on her face, know what she saw when she looked back at me. I wanted to get out of the chair and run. Why is it that the only thing that made me feel free again, was the thing that made me feel even more trapped? I had to know.
I typed in the name of my town and zoomed into a random street. It was a couple of miles from my house; the gates to the city park were shown in the clarity of daylight, despite it being night here. There she was. There... There she was. She was only a few miles from my house, standing under the ironwork arch that stated the name of the park. She looked directly at the camera, directly at me. I felt like I might throw up. She was near me, and she was watching me. She was coming for me. What did she want?
I typed in the name of the apartment complex where I live. I could see the outside of the building. The parking lot was full of cars, and there were a few blurred out children on the playground. I searched everywhere for her. She wasn't in the parking lot or on the sidewalks, not hiding between the buildings or standing in the playground. I even scanned each of the cars, behind the bushes, and each of the blurred windows. She wasn't there. I curled tightly around myself and lay my head down on the desk.
This place was safe. I didn't leave the apartment anyway. I would never use Google Maps again. I would never see her again. She could stay at the park for all I cared. I smiled to myself and was surprised to find a tear slipping down my face.
"I'm safe," I said to myself in a whisper. It felt good to hear it out loud. "I'm safe."
As I said it, there was a knock at the door. A chill ran down my spine. I had a camera hooked to my computer that showed who was at the front door, which made it easier for me, with my mobility issues. I slowly reached for the control to show myself who was outside, but my hand trembled furiously. As I touched the control, I realized my mistake. The last of Google's images that I'd seen had only shown the outside of the building. Just the outside.
I looked at the screen and saw a woman in a white t-shirt, black pants, black hooded jacket; and carrying a grey bag with a purple and grey striped shoulder strap. Of course, there were those red sneakers. She looked directly at the camera, her face still a complete blur. As I tried to stifle a scream, she raised a hand and knocked loudly on my front door.

Like Usual
CW: Not really whump- just an emotional sad little drabble I wrote a bit ago. It’s kinda sad, but also fluffy and light if that makes sense? Some medical stuff referenced and implied and vomiting/medicine and stuff too. But that’s about it.
- - -
“Okay. Uhh- what am I wearing this time?” He asked.
“Umm- cargo shorts, with a ridiculous amount of pockets. And a Hawaiin shirt. But you look a lil dumb cause you’ve got a hoodie tied around your waist in case I get cold, and, uh- I’m in those blue shorts I got from Walmart, and my white shirt with flowers on it.”
He laughed. “Okay, so what’s the occasion? Where are we at?”
She thought for a second. “The amusement park.”
“The amusement park?! You mean the one across the highway? I-I could never handle that. It, it just wouldn’t work.”
She looked at him, folding her arms across her chest. “Dude, this whole scenario is imaginary anyways, just roll with it. You can do whatever.”
“Do I really have to be in a Hawaiin shirt and cargo shorts though?” He complained.
“Yes. It adds to the realism.”
“Okay then, what’s first.”
“Food obviously, and then those little stores and the magic shows and stuff so we can digest- then all of the rides. And games in between.”
“Games?”
“Yeah, the carnival games that are rigged and make you lose all your money. You have to win me one of those ridiculously oversized stuffed animals so that it looks like I’m your spoiled girlfriend. It’s the rules. But I make you carry it around the entire time afterwards, and then it sits on my bed and I do nothing with it, but it’s a cute reminder of that one time we went to the park together and you won me that giant blue panda.”
“Wow, I thought you said this was an imaginary scenario? That sounds oddly specific to me.” He laughed, and the girl punched him in the arm. “Ouch! Careful, I’m fragile.”
“Sorry...”
“Okay food. What are we eating?”
Her excitement perked up again. “Um, let’s see- we have to get all staples. Corn-on-the-cob of course, and those barbecue sandwiches they have, and then the cheesecake on a stick. Dip-n-dots, churros, pizza. Everything that’s so greasy it clogs your heart- And, and then deep-fried oreos! Oh! And that lemonade that thye’ve got- the one that says it’s so fresh you’d slap it!”
She bounced up and down on the edge of the bed, visualizing all of the food in front of her.
“Oh my gosh... deep fried oreos...” He said. “What have I been missing?”
He sighed, but became immediately silent as his face went pale. One hand covered his mouth and the other went to his stomach as he sat up quickly. He grappled about for something, and she found the tan bowl that was on the opposite side of the bed. He gripped the sides with both hands and she held up the bottom of the bowl, her other hand rubbing his back as he emptied the contents of his stomach. Once he finished, she set the bowl on the side table, his head falling onto her shoulder, her hand still on his back.
He waved his hand. “Go on. We had just finished the food.”
“Uh, okay- yeah. You good?”
He sat up and smiled, wiping his mouth off with the sleeve of his paper-thin gown. “Like usual.”
She nodded. “So there’s all those stores and vendors there. So, while- um, while holding hands if you wanted, we’d just walk around. And comment on the artwork and the merchandise like critics. Then we’d try on ridiculous pairs of sunglasses, or hats, and pretend that we’re actually considering buying things when in reality everything is too overpriced.”
“And I’ve spent all my money trying to win you that stupid panda.”
“Yeah!” She laughed. He smiled.
His hands reached over to hers and the two teenagers sat criss-cross-applesauce on the bed, facing each other.
“Your hands are cold.”
He laughed. “Yeah, they usually are.” Then he smirked- “So- exactly how dumb did I look in those sunglasses?”
“Oh, considerably. Enough that I’d almost consider buying them for you out of spite.”
His eyebrows furrowed. “You wouldn’t dare.”
“Oh, maybe I would! After all, you wasted your money on winning me that blue panda, so I’ll waste all my money on a dumb pair of sunglasses for you.”
“As I recall from this fantasy, it wasn’t a waste- because I got you that blue panda, so you’re welcome!” He laughed, erupting from his belly. She couldn’t help but smile.
The times when he laughed were the best times the two had shared together. It helped add to the normalcy. It’s why the girl still came there almost every day after school, bringing his homework, and creating these stories.
“So then what’s next?” He asked.
“The Ferris wheel. Obviously. It’s the best ride that there is! You get to spend a lot of time just sitting up there, and watching the view. You can see the horses at the farms in the distance, and the mountains. And then if it’s dark you can see all the stars. And then the lights from the rides below, and all of the cars and houses. It just creates this sort of eerie, and, and ethereal glow. It just sets the whole mood.”
He was looking out the window now. It was nearing after dinner time. The cream colored curtains seemed as dead as the atmosphere as they hung loosely around the window frame.
“You know, that’s something I could do.” He stated, never taking his eyes off of the window. “Just go outside, ride the Ferris wheel. Even just look at the stars.”
It was too cold for him to go out and look at the stars. The ground was still covered with snow and the wind was still too harsh.
She nodded. “Yeah. Maybe, maybe this summer. We’ll do it this summer.”
He nodded but still didn’t look at the girl.
They both knew he wasn’t going to make it till this summer.
Shaking his head, he came back to reality. Well, their make-believe reality anyways.
His voice was soft. “So, uh, we ride the ferris wheel. Then what?”
“Um, well…” She pushed her hand through her hair. Struggling to find words to continue the story. Her mind had gone back to the much darker reality from their make believe world. The girl sighed and took his hand again, this time it was her turn to look out the window.
“Uh, listen. I’m, I’m sorry... I’m sorry that you can’t actually come and eat cheesecake, or deep fried oreos and crap, and- and that the park is so far away. And that this- none of this, is ever going to come close to actually being able to actually go out and do all of it, or even just coming back to school, and I’m sorry that I-”
“Shut up.”
“What?”
“Yeah.” He said. He fiddled with the edge of his blanket. “Shut up! Do you think I enjoy being cooped up in this hospital? Being poked and prodded, and left alone all day? I live every day having everyone feel sorry for me, I don’t need sympathy from you too.”
He sighed and she wiped away a tear that had dripped down her cheek. His voice softened.
“Don’t you think I want to go back to school? Gosh, I sound ridiculous, but I want nothing more than to have homework- and to try out for the swim team, or go to movies or the park, or just be a dumb teenager? I’m seventeen for goodness sake! I should be out going to parties, and driving around town, and taking the ACTs, and, and taking you to Prom! Not taking medication, and getting tested and having treatments, and, and balding! So shut up, okay? -please?”
“You want to take me to prom?” She asked tentatively.
“Yes! I want to swirl you around the floor in your dress and your tennis shoes and then mess up your hair and spill punch on your dress and kiss you behind the lockers while hiding from the chaperones.”
A hint of a smile crept across her face and she wiped away another tear. He brushed away the hair that had fallen in her face and let his fingers rest by her cheek.
“This. This is the best part of my day. When you come in here and tell me the dumb thing that one kid did in history, or the new song you’re playing in band. Or you tell me what your grandma did during sunday dinner and I tell you what the nurses did during my checkup. And especially, especially when you come and make up these dumb stories. These fantasies of things we go do, memories we’d create.” He chuckled and pulled her hands down into his lap. “Honestly, that one where we robbed the ice cream shop and ran from the police is still my favorite.”
She smiled. “Yeah- I had to be kinda creative with that one.”
“So please-” he squeezed her hands. “-please don’t apologize or feel sorry. Or think that what you come and do here every day isn’t enough. Because like usual, I’ve come to expect it as part of this daily routine I’ve got going on. And like usual, it never fails to put a smile on my face, and make me laugh.”
His volume lowered and the boy leaned forward, pressing his forehead against hers. “I don’t want to think of a day when I don’t get to see your nerdy face, and hear these dumb stories and, and hold your hand, okay. Okay?”
She nodded. “Me too.”
But she would have to think of that day. She was the one who’d eventually have to stop coming to see him. The one who’d have to let him go.
But like usual, she’d keep coming in here every day until that happened- eventually. And like usual, she’d sacrifice her time, and her emotions to be there for him. To keep him strong until he couldn’t be there anymore.
She heaved a sigh, choked back a sob, and pressed her hand against the back of his neck, pulling them closer together.
Her voice was shaky but her words were clear.
“You all good?” She asked.
He nodded. “Like usual.”

Why do I write stuff that’s sad? So I wrote this like, at the end of last year. And thought I’d bring it back and edit it and post it and stuff. It’s not related to anything, just a weird little drabble, that, that gave me the feels ngl. So sorry--- but not really I guess. @imagination1reality0

FLASHBACK
14 YEARS EARLIER
June 2006
Salt Lake City, Utah
"When do you think mom's coming home?" 7 year old Kate asks 11 year old Paige who is serving her instant ramen.
"I don't know, she's usually out hunting late" she replies.
"I hate it when she's not here" Kate says looking down, playing with her noodles.
"I know, I hate it too" Paige says, serving herself. She sits down, and as she’s about to eat.
They get a knock at their motel door, Paige quickly looks up, and turns off the lights.
She moves Kate onto the floor under the table, and reaches for the shotgun her mother gave her to protect herself and Kate.
They get another knock on the door this time more aggressive.
"I know you're in there Winchester" a male voice says.
The doorknob turns aggressively, and he starts to bang on the door.
"Open the fucking door" he demands.
"Stay here" she whispers to Kate.
Paige stands up holding the shotgun aiming it at the door, she tries to make herself sound like a threat but she’s actually terrified.
"Who is it?' she says loudly,
"Where's Mandy?" he yells.
"She's not here" she yells back.
He then throws himself at the door, she looks back at Kate who is on the urge of tears.
"Go away!!!" Paige yells at him.
"What are you gonna do about little girl?" he says, making shivers going down her spine
"You come in and you're fucking dead" she says, cocking the shotgun.
He laughs maniacally and says "You're not gonna kill anyone little girl".
He continues to throw himself at the door, and he eventually breaks it down.
Sees Paige aiming a shotgun at him, Kate hiding under the table.
He scoffs at her "Really, you're a child" he grabs the shotgun out of her hands and tosses it to the floor.
The man he’s about 5’10-6’0, bald with a pedophile mustache, 250-270 pounds with a beer belly.
"Where's Mandy?" he yells, grabbing her hair and pulling on it.
She reaches in her back pocket and slices his hand with her hunting knife.
He screams in pain clenching his hand, letting go of her hair pushing her to the ground dropping her knife.
She runs to the shotgun but gets shoved into the wall, a framed photo falls on her head in the process. The glass cutting her forehead.
He turns to Kate, lifts the table and throws it out of the way.
Making Kate scream and roll up into a ball.
Paige gets up, grabs her knife and tackles him before he can get his hands on her, and stabs him in the throat killing him.
His blood getting on her hands, the floor and on the bed.
His body drops hard to the floor, he twitches and dies of blood loss.
They both sit there in shock, Kate rolled up in the corner of the room crying her eyes out.
Paige sits there on the floor looking at the blood on her hands.
She's never killed anyone before but she knew what she had too.
He was gonna do Chuck knows what to her little sister, and it was her job to protect her whenever their mother wasn't around.
After what felt like hours the sound of their mother's voice echoes from down the hall.
"Girls!!!!!" she yells out from the hallway.
When she gets to the doorway, Kate stands up and runs to her.
"Mommy" she says, still crying, hugging her.
She looks over at Paige.
"What happened?" she asks.
"I killed him, he was-he was gonna hurt us" she answers, still in shock and looking motionless. "Did you let him in?" she asks. Their mom was very very strict about letting strangers into their room whenever she wasn’t around.
She shakes her head "He burst in, looking for you".
Mandy walks over to the body, and sees his face
"Shit" she whispers.
"Get your stuff, we have to get out of here" she says in a panicked tone.
They grab all their stuff and go to their car. They pack it up, and drive down the road away from that town.
END OF FLASHBACK
“Kate!?!?!?!?” Paige yells in shock over the gunfire, and screaming.
“Come on, we're getting you out of here” Kate says.
Wheaty comes into her cage to help her up.
“Wheaty??!?!?” Paige says.
“Come on, we’re getting out of here!!” he yells, as him and Kate help her up.
Eli, and a bunch of other Whitetails shoot at Jacob’s men, killing them.
They help her into the backseat of the truck, Ryan goes into the truck with them.
Eli jumps into the driver seat, and Paige doesn’t see her but Mandy gets into the passenger seat.
Jacob watches from the balcony of the Veteran’s Centre as the truck that took Paige drives off.
Paige feeling lightheaded, she puts her hands on her head.
“Hey you okay?” Kate asks.
Paige looks at everyone disoriented. It takes her a few minutes to recognize everyone in the truck, she still doesn’t realize her mother is sitting in the passenger seat.
Her mind finally goes clear, and she looks over at Kate. Tears fall down her cheeks, and she pulls her in for a tight embrace.
She looks at everyone. Kate, Eli, Wheaty and Ryan.
“Thanks you guys” she says, with tears running down her face.
She looks over at the woman sitting in the front seat, and thanks her too.
“Thanks to you too. Militia lady”
She turns her head, and says “Don’t you recognize your own mother!?”.
“Mom!?!?!?!” she yells out, making Eli jump.
She hugs her from behind the seat.
She’s crying even more now. She’s finally out of that shit hole, she can finally see her family again, and better yet she has her mom back.
She asks the same questions Kate asked her earlier that day.
Kate gets a phone call from Kenny.
Paige looks and sees that Kenny is calling her.
Her heart completely skips several beats.
“Do you wanna talk to him?” Kate asks her.
She hesitates, “No I want to surprise him”.
She answers the phone, and puts it on speaker.
“Hey Kenny” Kate says calmly.
“Kate!, where are you!?!!??” he asks frantically.
“I told you, I had to deal with a personal issue” she responds.
Paige tries holding back tears, as she hears her husband's voice.
“Yeah, you said that already. Did you go to the VC??” he asks.
“No, I didn’t” she lies. “Why?”.
“Nate told me there was a break in” he says.
“Really?? When??” she lies again. Kate is really good at lying.
“I don’t know like 10-15 minutes ago” he says. “Where are you??"
"I’m at the Wolf's Den”
“Why are you at the Wolf's Den?” he asks suspiciously.
“You’ll find out when I get home” she says, and she hangs up her phone.
“Who’s Kenny?” Mandy asks.
“That’s my husband” Paige says.
Mandy snaps her head back and looks at her.
“When did you get married?” she asks.
“April of last year” she responds. “Hell you even have a granddaughter”
The look of despair on Mandy’s face. She turns her head forward, and looks out the window.
She never even tried to contact her daughters.
If she did, she would’ve been able to attend Paige’s wedding, be there at the birth of her daughter and be there to meet her son in law.
They make it back to the wolves' den, and Paige eyes light up, and immediately jumps out of the truck the second she sees the Impala.
She runs to it, and hugs it as if it were her child.
“She loves that car” Kate says to Wheaty and Ryan.
Kate puts her hand on her shoulder, and says.
“There’s a lot we need to talk about” and without hesitation.
Paige opens her shirt, and rolls up her sleeves revealing her sins.
“Yeah, I know. John Seed told me a lot about you two” she says this, and goes into the bunker.
Kate sighs, and follows her inside.
The second Kate steps into the first room, Paige doesn’t lash out at her. She just sounds extremely disappointed.
“So you and temper tantrum Seed were in a relationship?”
Kate sighs, and says. “Yeah, we dated. We dated for 9-10 months. When I moved out here back in 2018”.
“How did you two even hook up?” she asks.
“He saved me” she says.
Confused, Paige says “He saved you??”.
“Yeah, he saved one night when I got off of work”
“What happened?” she asks curiously.
“I got jumped, I was able to hold the guy off, but he punched him in the face, and that’s when John came out of nowhere, and he beat up the guy”.
Paige looks at Kate confused.
She stumbles over her words, “So- so John, he- he has a soft spot for you?”
Kate shrugs, “Yeah basically when I finished my time at the University, and I graduated. I did stick around for a while. And that's when.” she stops speaking and turns away.
“And that's when what??” she asks. “Kate!? That's when what happened?”.
She turns to face her, and says softly. “He got possessed by a demon”
Paige’s eyes widened. “Are you serious?!”
She nods her head “Yeah, he was possessed by Saleos”.
“And another demon by the name of Merihem attacked my friends while they were on a camping trip, putting 3 of them in the hospital”.
Paige looks down at the ground, those names she knows she’s heard them somewhere.
Kate rolls up her sleeves, and shows Paige her tattoos.
“Those are your tattoos” she says, telling her as if she were a child.
“All my tattoos cover my sins. John, who was possessed by Saleos, forced him to have me atone.”
“What about Merihem?” Paige asks.
“I killed him. He was possessing the man who jumped me, and I killed him. Along with the demon”.
“So John knows about what we do?” she asks.
She nods her head “Yes”.
“You fucked up another one” Paige jokes. They both laugh.
Mandy walks in and says
“So? How are my girls doing?”
“Well I have a bone to pick with you as well” Paige says to Mandy.
“Jacob told me that you and Joseph Seed were involved with each other years ago.”
She closes her eyes and lets out sigh.
“Yes, Joseph and I were involved with each other. But it's not what you think. You see I was working as a double agent for the Whitetails”
“Jacob also said that, and supposedly Joseph had some of his followers kill you. And clearly you’re not dead unless I’m on drugs”
“Yeah, Joseph did feel betrayed by me because he wanted me to be The Mother of Eden's Gate”.
Paige and Kate both look at each other in confusion.
“Wow, so basically all 3 of us were involved with the Seed brothers in some way” Paige says. “Because you *points to Kate* you were romantically involved with John, and you *points to Mandy* you were involved in a work kind of way with Joseph, and I was kidnapped by Jacob, and he wanted me to be a part of his army, and I’m also 100% sure he wanted to fuck me”
They all share a laugh, and spend the next 20-30 minutes catching up.
Kate gets up and goes to get a drink.
Wheaty walks in a few moments later.
“Hey” he says to her.
“Hey” she responds with a smile.
“You’re sister, she just looks different” he tells her.
She nods her head, and says “Yeah, I can’t imagine what Jacob did to her”.
“All the shit he put her through in the last few months”.
“Your sister is strong. From what Ryan told me. Jacob tormented her, he pushed her until she broke, and she never did. And what really set her off, is that Jacob mentioned her daughter, and she went ballistic”.
She does a little side smile, and says “Yeah I can imagine that. And yeah without a doubt Paige is very strong mentally and physically. She took care of me, protected me throughout our whole lives, and she owns up to it”.
They both lean against the kitchen counter for a few minutes.
Kate sighs, and steps forward, standing in front of Wheaty.
“I just wanted to thank you, Eli and Tammy for helping my family. If Paige would’ve stayed there a little longer, I’m pretty sure she would be dead”
“I’m glad Eli, Tammy and I could help” he says, pushing himself off the wall.
Standing in front of her.
Kate hugs him, and he is taken aback by it. He hugs her back, and they stay like that for a few minutes.
She pulls away from their hug, and looks up at him.
And without any hesitation, she kisses him.
Wrapping her arms around his neck, he places his hands on her hips, pulling her closer to him.
After a few minutes of kissing, Eli walks in on them and awkwardly clears his throat.
Kate breaks their kiss, and looks back at Eli.
Feeling like a teenager getting caught for making out with a guy by their parents or older sibling.
“I’ll just get this, and leave” he says, grabbing something off the counter, and awkwardly leaves the kitchen.
They stand there for a few minutes laughing at what just happened.
A few moments later Kate, and Wheaty go back into the main room with the others.
Mandy, Paige and Kate leave the bunker, and head home to Holland Valley.
They all say their goodbyes, they have all their stuff, they put everything in the car,
and Mandy of course makes Paige take the passenger, and she drives the Impala just like the old days, when Kate and Paige were children.
She starts up the car, the sound of the engine rumbling is like music to Paige’s ears.
She leans forward, turns on the radio, trying to find a station that’ll play some good rock music, and of course a great classic.
Turn The Page by Metallica (cover) plays on the radio, and they drive home.
