Evan Buckley Masterlist
Part 1
Summary: (Y/n) distances herself from Evan when the people at her college believe he shouldn't be with someone younger and inexperienced like her. But things change when she falls pregnant.
Enjoy.

Tumblr media
A smile worked its way onto Evan's lips and he paused, looking down at the pair of arms that wound their way around his waist. He felt (Y/n)'s face press into his back between his shoulder blades and her palms spread out over his chest, gluing herself to him.
He could feel each shallow breath she took which fanned through his shirt and heated up his back.
"Have you had a drink yet?" He pushed away the bowl of salad so it was further back on the counter before he reached his hands down. Both hands moved to cup (Y/n)'s wrists and he tilted his head back, looking up at the ceiling as he wanted for an answer.
When he didn't get a response, he knew the answer was no. He gave her wrists a squeeze and slowly turned round in her arms so he could tangle his arms around her and keep her pinned up against him.
"You'll make yourself ill," Evan scolded with a stern expression that started to fade the moment (Y/n) smiled sheepishly up at him.
"I'm nervous." It wasn't much of an excuse, but it was the truth.
(Y/n) was too nervous to sit down, too nervous to stop and take a full breath and too panicked to think about trying to get a drink and keep her fluids up.
Evan's team were coming round for tea.
This was going to be the first time (Y/n) would meet the people he worked with, the people he classed as his family. (Y/n) knew what they meant to him. She knew his Captain had practically become his surrogate father and his colleagues were like his siblings that kept him grounded and got him through each shift at work.
And his big sister was coming over too. Maddie was the one who raised Evan since he was a child, she was the one he looked up to and seeked her approval of almost every aspect of his life. He strived to make her proud.
This was a big family unit and it wasn't something that (Y/n) was used to. She wasn't close to her parents and she didn't have any siblings. If this dinner tonight didn't go well, (Y/n) would ruin everything. She would make things awkward for Evan when all she wanted to do was make him proud and get along with his friends. She needed to gel with them and slowly intergrate herself with them so they could all get along.
There was nothing worse than feeling like the odd one out and feeling like nobody liked her or thought of her as one of their own. (Y/n) didn't want to be on the outside looking in.
"Baby…" Evan moved his hands up until he could cup (Y/n)'s face and brush his thumbs beneath her eyes. She was drifting. Panicking. Overthinking. "If I love you, then everyone else will too. Stop panicking and go get something to drink, I've barely seen you drink all day."
Leaning down, Evan captured her with a kiss before he walked her backwards and nudged her towards the fridge. Passing out the first night she met the team wouldn't be the best way to start things.
(Y/n) found a can of pop from the fridge and got Evan another beer which she barely managed to put on the counter without dropping when there was a knock at the front door.
She wasn't ready.
Maybe it would have been a better idea to try and meet everyone slowly, individually. Start out with Maddie and see how they got along, and then move on to meet Eddie, then Bobby and so on.
But it just so happened that everyone had today off shift, and that wasn't something that happened often. And (Y/n) couldn't help but agree when Evan asked if she wanted to take this chance and meet the team. Diving right in would get rid of her anxiety because she would meet everyone in one fell swoop. Rather than dividing everyone up and doing it in stages. This would be quicker.
And (Y/n) knew Evan wanted to introduce (Y/n) now because they were going for their twelve-week scan next week. That was when he wanted to tell everyone that he was going to be a dad.
He wanted to invite Maddie out somewhere, just the three of them, and tell her that she was going to be an auntie. That he was going to have his first child and see his sister smile and be proud of him. And then tell the team. And Evan couldn't tell any of them without them meeting (Y/n) first. Introductions first, big news later. Evan wasn't great at hiding secrets.
"Here we go," Evan murmured softly, moving his hands to (Y/n)'s shoulders so he could kiss the back of her head to keep her calm. He weaved around behind her and moved towards the front door with anticipation, wondering who was first to arrive.
(Y/n) took a quick gulp of her drink and wrung her hands out in front of her to try and rid some of the nervous tension she felt.
Her stomach was knotting itself up and she felt like she was going to be sick. She'd already thrown up everything she had for breakfast and lunch which had put Evan on edge all afternoon. Especially since he knew she had barely had two drinks all day because of a mixture of nerves and morning sickness.
She moved round towards the kitchen island and leaned on the edge, pressing her hands into the sharp counter that also jabbed into her hips as she pushed up on her toes. Her lips rolled together nervously and she felt her chest tightening up, unable to let her catch a proper breath.
"Okay, guys, this is (Y/n)." Evan couldn't quite hide the smile on his lips and it made (Y/n)'s stomach skip a beat.
Her eyes followed Evan was he walked back into the apartment, his hands on a woman's shoulders who was a good few inches shorter than him. He gave her shoulders a squeeze and leaned his chin on top of her head before he glanced to his right.
"This is Chimney, and this is my big sister Maddie."
It was clear by the way Evan clung to her that she was his sister (Y/n) had heard so much about. She had a bright, inviting smile and her eyes creased when she smiled. Her neck was lathered in three different necklaces and she had a few rings on both hands. With her hair pinned up on one side and her nails painted dark blue to match the blazer and trousers she was wearing, she looked lovely. Fashionable, even.
(Y/n) was taken a little by surprise when Maddie reached out to hug her. She wasn't used to making a lot of friends or meeting the family of friends. And Evan was someone special. (Y/n) wanted to get along with anyone who was important to him.
Being hugged straight away by Maddie felt like she was being intergrated and welcomed with open arms from the off-set.
"It's so lovely to finally meet you, Buck talks about you, a lot."
She could feel the blood rushing to her head making her sway on her feet as she clung to Maddie and squeezed her in return.
"All good I hope?" When they parted, (Y/n) moved towards the kitchen as Evan went back to the door at the sound of another knock. "Do you want something to drink?"
She found a bottle of wine and a beer from the fridge, holding them out so they could choose. Making herself useful stopped (Y/n) from panicking so much and gave her something to focus on. She could hear Evan laughing at something, or someone, as the sound of footsteps thundered through the apartment.
Evan could feel his own nerves dwindling down when he showed the rest of the team through into the kitchen. Where Bobby and Hen immediately sat down at the bar stools next to Chimney who was leaning casually on the counter.
But when Evan looked over at (Y/n) and Maddie, he could feel his heart hammering out in his chest. They were laughing. Their heads were leaned close together, their laughs were mixing together and they were fumbling to try and open the bottle of wine while Maddie steadied two wine glasses in her hands.
That was what he had been hoping for. Seeing the two most important people in his life getting along like a house on fire.
"You must be (Y/n)." Bobby grinned and leaned his elbows on the counter when the younger girl placed two different cans of pop in front of him so he could choose. She could tell from the way he held himself and the description she got from Evan that this had to be Bobby. And she knew he didn't drink, much like her for the next few months.
She nodded with a tender smile and passed a glass over to Eddie and one to Hen while Maddie took over pouring the drinks.
"This is our Captain Bobby. That's Hen, and that's Eddie. This is my girl, (Y/n)."
A smile lit up (Y/n)'s face when Evan walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. Reeling her into his chest so he could merge his lips against the top of her head. He swayed them from side to side with a bright smile when (Y/n) gave his hands a reassuring squeeze.
"It's great to meet you, Evan's told me a few stories from your station."
"God, what has he told you?" Eddie threw his head back with a grin and took a large gulp of wine as he slumped forward on the counter. But his intrigue only sparked when (Y/n) smirked around her drink and held his gaze.
Oh, she was going to play that game. Evan had told her a few stories then, as ammunition for a good night.
"You call him Evan?" Hen held her glass to her lips and leaned her shoulders back against the fridge with one arm wrapped around her chest. It had been so long since any of them had heard or called Evan by his name that she almost forgot what it was. There were still a few people who referred to Chimney as Howie, but Hen didn't know anyone who called Evan by his first name. Not even Maddie anymore.
(Y/n) nodded, moving her free hand to play with the chain of her necklace. It was how Evan introduced himself to her. He didn't say his name was Buck, because that was his nickname and on a first introduction he could hardly say his name was Buck Buckley.
But she kept using his name because she knew Evan loved it. She was the only person who called him by his first name and it did something to him. It excited him and grounded him and made him feel at home.
"Why?"
"Because he likes it." Her response made them all grin, and when she turned to the right where Evan was taking the lasagna out the oven, she could see him smile. His cheeks flushed from both adrenaline and the heat of the oven he was leaning into. "He only got the nickname for work," She added quietly, although no one was complaining and there was no need to explain further.
"Did you?" Chimney looked over at Evan with raised brows. "I thought it was just your nickname, from college or whatever."
"There were three Evans in his class at the fire academy, they had to differentiate."
Evan paused, halfway between the oven and the table with his eyes following after his girl.
She remembered. She remembered that story which he had told her on their second date when he mentioned most people would call him Buck, not Evan. He didn't think it would stick or that it was something that important, but (Y/n) remembered. She wanted to know why he had a nickname and why he seemed to love her using his proper name.
His eyes followed (Y/n) as she took the salad bowl over to the table along with the bottle of wine.
A few looks passed around the kitchen as everyone grabbed their glasses and followed to sit down since it was clearly time to eat. They were all thinking the same thing, as clear as day.
She was a keeper.
(Y/n) felt quite at ease when she had Evan sat on her left with his hand resting on her thigh. She had Eddie on her right, Bobby at the right end of the table, Hen at the other end and then Maddie and Chimney sat opposite them. It didn't feel as cramped as (Y/n) panicked it would and she could tell she was already fitting in with them and it felt like they were all glueing together.
"So, Buck said you're in college, what are you studying?" Hen leaned over to add some salad to her plate and looked over at (Y/n).
The conversation was flowing rather easily between them all. It was something (Y/n) was worried would be stiffled and broken, but she had been panicking for nothing.
Although just the thought of college made her stomach give an awful twist and sent her knee jittering against Evan's.
"I'm doing a degree in nursing." She tried to smile and tilted her head down towards her plate, but she didn't feel so hungry. Not after throwing everything up throughout the day and now feeling like her stomach was doing summersaults.
"Oh wow, so when we get busted up on shift, we can just get (Y/n) to patch us up."
"We're both medics Chim, so is Eddie." Hen waved her hand across at him as if he had forgotten what they all did for a living. Especially when Maddie mumbled a quiet "And I'm a qualified nurse too." in his ear.
Not that none of them wouldn't go to (Y/n), but they all pitched in to look after each other. And no one suspected Evan would be willing to share his girl, she was going to be his personal nurse and his only. He wasn't the sharing type, he was the jealous type.
"Well it's good news for me," Evan murmured and pressed his lips to the top of (Y/n)'s head.
"Yeah, danger-prone Daphne can have his own nurse so we don't have to patch him up." Bobby grinned and dodged quickly when Evan flicked his fork across the table at him, splattering red sauce on the collar of his shirt.
He wasn't as bad as he used to be when he was a teenager. Evan wasn't vying for anyone's attention anymore. He knew the people around him could see him for who he truly was. He didn't have to get hurt or break a bone for someone- his parents- to take notice of him and give him some love and attention. He had all the attention he wanted.
Evan kept his right arm looped over the back of (Y/n)'s chair and curled his hand around her shoulder. He leaned back in his seat and parted his knees to the side while his left elbow propped up on the table. It felt good to have (Y/n)'s head on his shoulder and her fingers trailing up and down his thigh to give her something to focus on.
"Don't you like Buck's cooking? He's taking lessons from Cap."
(Y/n) looked to the right when Eddie noticed she had barely touched her plate whereas the rest of them were almost finished. They were used to eating quick, everyone at the station had developed a high metabolism because of how little time they had to eat meals.
"I- I'm still a little nervous I guess." She was hungry, but she didn't feel like she could eat much. She still had a full can of pop left which she had barely touched and she knew if Evan noticed he would be watching her closer like a hawk.
She tilted her head to the left and pressed her forehead into Evan's neck, breathing in his scent and feeling the way his throat moved when he laughed at one of Chimney's jokes. The atmosphere was good; there was no need for (Y/n) to be nervous. They were all getting on like a house on fire.
But (Y/n) closed her eyes and moved her free hand to wrap around her waist when her stomach twisted.
She wasn't sure if she was starting to feel sick or if her nerves were getting the better of her. With her temple pressed into Evan's neck, (Y/n) couldn't tell for a moment if it was him or her who was beginning to sweat. The trickle of water that slithered down her neck told (Y/n) she was the one starting to get flushed.
She could feel her ears tuning out of the conversation around the table, she could barely hear what Evan was saying or work out what he was laughing at.
When her stomach gave an awful, twisted cramp, (Y/n) jolted into Evan and inbedded her arm into her waist. She felt Evan's arm loop tighter around her shoulders and his head tilted down to look at her.
"Okay?"
(Y/n) wanted to smile, she wanted to nod and say she was fine, but she couldn't find her voice or the will to lie. She wasn't so sure she did feel okay after all as another cramp burned in her abdomen.
Her chin pressed down into her chest and she pushed her palm down onto Evan's thigh to use him as leverage to stand up. She could feel their eyes fall on her as the conversation tapered off and quietened down when she turned away and headed into the kitchen. Her hands started to shake, one arm still around her waist with her other hand trembling against the counter that she used to stop herself from falling down.
As soon as the bin was within reach, (Y/n) doubled over just in time to throw up. Her hands gripped the bin and her stomach clenched as she doubled over and bent her knees, pressing her kneecaps into the bin to stay upright.
"Oh no." Evan dropped his fork on his plate and got up, jogging from the table into the kitchen.
He smoothed his hand up and down (Y/n)'s back and gently moved her hair behind her ear before she threw up in it. His lips merged with the back of her head as he moved both hands to her hips and held her up when she looked like she was going to fall into the bin and take it down to the floor.
He couldn't tell whether this was morning sickness acting up or if (Y/n)'s nerves were getting the better of her. Or maybe it was a mixture of both.
"I'm s-sorry-"
"Don't apologise, you're okay." Evan curled his left arm around (Y/n)'s waist and gently reeled her up into his chest while he grabbed a glass with his right hand and filled it with water. He handed the glass over but his lips curled into a grimace when (Y/n) tried to take a mouthful but ended up coughing it back into the bin.
(Y/n) let Evan take her weight and leaned back into him, gripping his wrist when his arm secured back around her middle like an iron bar preventing her from flopping down to the floor.
His lips meshed against the back of her head while his other hand gave her hip a reassuring squeeze. When she nodded, he turned them around and gently walked them back towards the table where all eyes were watching them with worry and apprehension.
"Was that the nerves, or the cooking? Should we be worried?" Maddie tried to break the tension and looked down at her plate that was just about cleared. Did they need to worry about food poisoning or any of the ingredients being off, or was this just (Y/n)'s nerves playing her up?
(Y/n) tried to smile but she couldn't find it in herself when another throbbing cramp burned in her abdomen and had her arms binding around her waist. She let Evan slump her down in her chair and suddenly she didn't care about everyone watching them. She let herself fold over and pressed her forehead down against the edge of the table with her hands meshed into her stomach.
"Are you okay?" Eddie clamped his hand down on the back of (Y/n)'s chair and turned to face her and Evan. He wasn't so sure this was nerves when she looked like she was in pain.
His eyes flickered over to Evan who sat back down in his seat, one hand moving up and down (Y/n)'s back while his other hand was pressed tightly against his mouth to hide his worried expression.
"I… um," (Y/n) tried to lift herself up and look at Evan.
She didn't know if she was alright or not, this didn't feel normal, but then again, she wasn't sure what was supposed to be normal anymore. Was this normal because she hadn't been eating and drinking properly? Or was this something they should be worrying about?
She couldn't tell them she was pregnant. Evan wanted to wait. He wanted to sit Maddie down and tell her first and give her the scan picture they were going to get next week. Then he wanted to tell the team separately. She didn't want to ruin things and tell them this way or panic any of them. This was the first time they were all meeting, (Y/n) wanted to get along with them not worry them for no reason.
"(Y/n)'s pregnant… we're having a baby."
Evan had to tell them. He didn't like the pain (Y/n) seemed to be feeling or the fact that she hadn't kept anything down today or much of yesterday either. If she was in pain he might have to take her to the emergency room. And he had his team here, at least one of them could assess her and see whether this was an emergency or not.
He watched the round of surprised faces stare back at him like he'd grown a second head in front of them all.
But it was Maddie who his eyes focused more intently on and the way her hands started flapping at her sides like she was a bird growing wings. Her lips parted into a smile and she tapped her hand against the table before something seemed to dawn on her.
"Oh, maybe we should take you to a doctor sweetie, just to be safe."
"No, it's j-just cramps-"
"Baby you shouldn't be getting those at all. You're probably dehydrated, you need to see a doctor." Evan slid his arm around her waist and reeled her back into his chest so she couldn't fold over again.
He watched carefully as Eddie gently took her wrist to feel her pulse before he pressed his hand against her temple and then lifted her eyelid to check her pupils. "If you are dehydrated, that could cause the cramps, you should get checked, maybe get an IV and fluids back in your system."
"Alright, let's go." Evan kept his arms looped around (Y/n)'s waist while Eddie stood in front of her for precaution as Evan eased her up. "I've had a drink-"
"I've only had one, I'll drive you." Eddie patted Evan's shoulder and checked his pocket for his phone and his keys while everyone round the table got up.
"I'll go with you." Maddie rubbed her hand up and down Evan's arm and reached over to take (Y/n)'s hand.
***
"How we doin'?"
(Y/n) tightened her hand around Evan's and moved her free hand to curl around his bicep. She pulled his arm so it was pinned into her chest while she pressed her nose and mouth against his exposed arm. She could feel her heart hammering against her chest and adrenaline pooling in her stomach when she looked around the waiting room.
The team were all here.
She knew Eddie and Maddie had offered to stay since Eddie drove them down and Maddie travelled down with them just to make sure they were all okay, but (Y/n) didn't expect them to stay. And she thought Bobby would have taken Chimney and Hen home.
All five of them were sat in the waiting room, looking very relaxed and not a bit put out or annoyed.
(Y/n) had dampened the mood of the night by needing a trip to the emergency room. She thought they would have gone home or gone back to one of their homes and finished the night off together. (Y/n) was expecting them to call Evan and ask if she was okay and say how she had ruined their first night meeting her.
She was expecting him to get a phone call from one of them to ask how old she was and if he was serious about having a baby with her. She didn't see their faces round the table when Evan told them; (Y/n) didn't know if they were going to be happy or concerned.
"You… you all stayed?" She looked around the waiting room before her eyes looked up at Evan who smiled softly down at her. He leaned to peck her temple while his other hand cupped the back of her neck to keep her close.
"Of course we stayed, we wanted to make sure you're both okay… you are okay, right?" Bobby planted his hands down on his hips as he stood up, looking between them with a cautious smile. Since he couldn't see tears or panicked looks and since (Y/n) seemed to be discharged, he guessed things were okay.
"Someone's dehydrated, but an hour on an IV's done the trick."
(Y/n) kept her face smothered in Evan's arm and clung to him tighter. Perhaps she should have listened to him earlier when he told her to have a few more drinks and try to drink some water. The cramps were because she wasn't eating or drinking properly but since they had disappeared and her blood pressure was fine, she was being discharged.
And their scan for next week had been moved up to tomorrow, just as a precaution so they could make sure the baby was okay and had no further issues.
"You didn't have to wait," (Y/n) murmured softly as they all made a beeline down the corridor, walking slowly towards the exit.
"Oh please, you're one of us now. We look after each other, we weren't going anywhere without you."
She could feel tears burning in her eyes at Hen's words and she smiled against Evan's arm as he gave her hand a tight squeeze. She was one of them. The team loved her. They didn't think badly of her or think of her as some little kid trying to use and abuse Evan. They knew she loved him and they knew she was going to fit in and be one of them.
They looked after their own, if one of them was in the hospital then they would all be there to make sure they were okay.
Her head turned to the right when she felt Maddie walking at her side and the older girl suddenly looped their arms together and leaned close to her. Maddie pressed her chin on (Y/n)'s shoulder, grinning madly between her and Evan like there was some big secret hanging in the air.
"So… I'm gonna be an aunt, finally?"
"You're happy?" (Y/n) felt Evan scoff beside her and he leaned down to press his lips against her hairline.
"I told you she'd be happy, stop worrying." He almost found it funny that (Y/n) asked Maddie the same thing she'd asked him. He wondered if she would ask everyone special in their lives if they were happy about the news. And he had a strange feeling that if she asked his parents, they would somehow be happy. They may not get along well with Evan, but they would be pleased he was at this stage in his life where he had found someone brilliant to settle down with.
"I'm thrilled, my little brother's having a baby. He's gonna be a big papa bear." Maddie squeezed (Y/n)'s arm and grinned as if she was the one who was having a baby. Her expression was so giddy that it made (Y/n)'s blood spark with adrenaline.
She agreed with that. Evan was going to be a great, cuddly, soft papa bear when they had this baby.
***
When Evan walked through the door, he fought to kick off his boots and let his shoulders drop down now that he was inside. It was as if the bed was crying out his name, telling him it had been over twenty four hours since he'd last got some sleep. He needed to go to bed.
He slung his work bag down by his boots, he would sort it out and tidy up in the morning; it was too late and he was too tired to bother now.
He dragged his feet behind him and shuffled across into the kitchen, rooting through the fridge for a drink. But when he turned around, his brows narrowed and he leaned his head to the side.
Why was the lamp on in the living room?
Downing the whole bottle of water in one swoop, Evan left it on the counter and walked out the kitchen. He passed the dining table, his head still tilted to one side as he tried to see if (Y/n) was still down here or if she had just left the light on for him.
His lips rolled into a thin line and his hands found his hips and he looked around the living room.
It was nearly eleven o'clock at night, and here she was. Sat cross-legged on the rug in nothing but one of Evan's lounge shirts. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun, she had a pen clenched between her lips, a red marker pen tucked behind her ear. Two textbooks were laid out on the coffee table and revision cards littered the floor like she was performing some kind of omen or seance.
After dragging his eyes up and down her body a few times, Evan realised she had her headphones in. She hadn't heard him come in.
He made sure he wasn't about to stand on any of her revision cards and slowly went down on his knees behind her. He watched to make sure she wasn't writing any notes down; Evan knew how precise and neat (Y/n) made her notes and he didn't want to scare her and make her ruin them.
Satisfied she wasn't writing, he leaned forward and clamped his hands down on her hips. His chest pressed into her back and his face tucked into her neck, shivering as she screamed, spitting out the pen she had between her lips. A jolt ran through her body that jerked forward near the coffee table and ragged, panting breaths left her lips as she whipped her head to the right to look over at him.
"Evan!"
(Y/n) slapped his wrist and fumbled to move her legs and bring her knees up to her stomach. She let herself slouch back into his chest with her head on his shoulder. Her eyes closed tight and she took out her earphones, tossing them on the table now that her heart was pounding in her ears instead.
She hadn't realised it was so late. Once she'd gotten into the swing of revising, she lost herself and track of time. It was something to pass the time while waiting for Evan to come home. She didn't like being on her own during the night if he wasn't here. It didn't feel right without him.
"Sorry," She could tell by his tone that he wasn't really apologetic, and the feeling of his lips smiling against her neck also told her otherwise. "Do you know what time it is, baby?"
His words feathered over her skin while he started to press open-mouthed kisses along her neck and up towards her jaw. He was distracting. (Y/n) found herself melting into his touch and focusing on his actions rather than responding to his words.
She felt his left arm loop around her waist, pinning her into his chest while his right hand trailed up and down her inner thigh. With her knees pulled up like this, the shirt she was wearing had ridden up to her hips, giving him a perfect view of her bare legs and the top of her underwear.
"I got carried away," She whispered softly, turning her head so she could capture him in a kiss.
She had to keep herself busy somehow with Evan being out at work all day and into the evening.
"I think you've studied enough for one night, baby."
His hand left her thigh, but only so he could take the marker from behind her ear and toss it onto the table where he flipped both textbooks closed. He gave the notebooks a gentle push out of his way before his fingers latched back around her thigh and started to squeeze.
He inched backwards, pulling (Y/n) with him and turning her around so he could loop her thighs around his hips. He didn't exactly give her a choice and his baiting grin told her this was non-negotiable.
"I have a test tomorrow," (Y/n) leaned forward and smothered her face against his shoulder while her arms curved around the back of his neck. "I need to pass."
(Y/n) knew this test only counted for twenty-five percent of the final grade, but she still had to pass. She needed to pass so she didn't have to re-take the test or God forbid, redo some of this year again. Her grades were good, but her panic levels were even worse and (Y/n) was feeling the pressure. Everything had timed out perfectly thus far.
Meeting and falling for Evan, passing every class and each yearly test so she didn't have to retake anything. And now she was pregnant, her due date lined up with her graduation date. She could graduate before she had the baby. Get all her classes and tests out the way now while she was pregnant, graduate, and then college would be finished.
(Y/n) could have their baby, take some time and then find a job and start a new job alongside her new little family.
So that meant she had to graduate this year. She had to pass this test. She had to study.
"And you will, but you need to rest and go in with a clear head. Come on, we're off to bed." Both his hands slid beneath her scrunched up shirt so he could grip her bum as he pushed up to his feet and lifted her up with him.
He knew this was important, but he also knew that (Y/n) had been studying for long enough and she knew all the subsections she was going to be quizzed on tomorrow. She was prepared for this, but Evan needed her to come to bed and get some sleep so she was fully prepared and not going in feeling sick.
"I know, but-"
"No buts. You'll do great because you're my smart-ass girl. I'm off tomorrow so I'll drop you off and I'll pick you up. Eddie and Chris have invited us round for tea tomorrow, if you're up for it too."
He could feel (Y/n) grinning into his shoulder as he began walking them both up the stairs.
Since most of the class- and a few others on campus- had found out she was pregnant, curtesy of Sandra, (Y/n) had been anxious about going in. No one said anything, barely anyone glared or even looked at her like she thought they would. It wasn't like high school, there was no stigma attached to having a baby in college.
It was only the small cliché of girls in (Y/n)'s class that still thought she was doing this for a game.
But seeing how thrilled Evan was about having their baby dampened down (Y/n)'s nerves, and she felt better when he could drop her off. Especially if he could pick her up from class too. (Y/n) practically ran to the jeep to get away. It was like Evan had become her suit of armour.
As much as the girls wanted and loved to gossip, none of them said anything when they saw Evan waiting outside. (Y/n) felt brave enough to go to class and get through each lesson, knowing that when she left, most of the time, Evan was right there to pick her up.
"Sounds perfect."

YOU KNOW YOU LOVE ME. XOXO, GOSSIP GIRL. ↳ a collection of sentences from the Gossip Girl (2007) series.
"I'm not a stop along the way. I'm a destination."
“Three words. Eight letters. Say it and I’m yours.”
“If you’re going to be sad, you might as well be sad in Paris.”
“Once men have tasted caviar, it baffles me how they settle for catfish.”
“Whoever said money doesn’t buy happiness didn’t know where to shop.”
“We’re sisters. You’re my family. What is you is me. There’s nothing you could ever say that would make me let go.”
“You can’t make people love you, but you can make them fear you.”
“Haven’t you heard? I’m the crazy bitch around here.”
“Here’s my advice. Have a little faith, and if that doesn’t work, have a lot of mimosas.”
“Don’t go all Notebook on me. Not now. I need you.”
“I have an idea for you: quit. Your boss is a bitch. Let’s go to lunch.”
“Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen.”
“We’re not servants to our emotions. We can control them, suppress them, stomp them out like bugs.”
“You need to be cold to be a queen.”
“Don’t let people tell you who you are. You tell them.”
“I didn’t come back for you.”
“I’ll just stay home, eat lots of gelato, and write about how true love is nothing but a myth.”
“I’d ask you how you are, but I don’t really care.”
“You know my mom: If it’s not broke, break it.”
“There’s something vibrating in your pocket, and I really hope it’s your phone.”
“I hate that stupid headband.”
“I remember everything you’ve read to me. In case you haven’t noticed I don’t really let go of things so easily.”

“You are no one until you’re talked about.”
“When Prince Charming found Cinderella’s slipper, they didn’t accuse him of having a foot fetish.”
“I don’t read Gossip Girl. That’s for chicks.”
“So, actually, I’ll be living out my nightmare. Trapped in the city with only you to talk to.”
“She doesn’t know me. Nobody knows me. It’s cool. It’s fine.”
“Yeah, well, your fashion emergency was solved so I figured my work was done.”
“You can’t fight against who you are.”
“You gonna strangle him with your scarf?”
“You don’t just give up because things are hard.”
“You know it’s love when you start talking like an assassin.”
“I just want to be the person you can bring anything to.”
“Affairs with married people, threesomes — it just so happens everyone’s problems are within my area of expertise.”
“I just don’t get it. I organized everything the way she likes it. I mean, I even made sure my bowtie matched her dress.”
“Listen, there’s nothing wrong with keeping your options open. I don’t think your parents are going to be mad at you for choosing your own path. Unless… they’re related to my parents.”
“Some might call this a fustercluck. But on the Upper East Side, we call it Sunday afternoon.”
“There’s a weak link in every chain, and it’s just a matter of time before this one snaps.”
“One thing about being on the top of the world? It gives you a long, long way to fall.”
“So we should just be anonymous losers who eat lunch alone and never get invited to parties?”
“Well, keep dreaming. Maybe one day she’ll actually know your name.”
“The sound of your own voice annoying you?”
“Even you should know that jealousy clashes with L.L. Bean pants!”
“I came to tell you in person. You win.”
“The only human contact that you don’t pay for is the people in this house.”
“That’s not fair. Everyone’s topless on Valentino’s yacht.”
“You know you really put yourself on the radar tonight. Better not make that mistake again or you’ll pay for real.”
“Don’t look now, but those are the JV mean girls.”
“He gave six girls from Nightingale gonorrhea of the throat last year.”
“I wouldn’t have had to do it if it weren’t for your smear campaign against me.”
“If we wanted to have sex, we’d just go to a hotel.”
“You’ve come to my rescue enough times, let me help you for once.”
“I don’t need a guy to make me feel fulfilled, especially when he’s unavailable.”

“Chris…”
The familiar voice made Chris quickly pull back. There stood Minka with a red face and tear stained cheeks.
Shit.
“Why am I watching you kiss your baby's mother after you told me you were at your daughter's birthday party?” Minka looked between them. Chris was lost for words because he didn’t even know she was coming.
“What are you doing here Minka?”
She gave them a dry laugh, “You really want to sit here and answer my question with a question, wow.” Her eyes flickered from him to Ryelle.
“I’m just going to leave; give Lively to me.”Ryelle just had enough of tonight already. Minka on the other hand, the night was just getting started for her. “Leave? Do you think your home-wrecking ass is just going to leave bitch?? No! Ain’t nobody leaving until I get fucking answers!” She made her way closer to Ryelle, aiming to hurt her.
Chris quickly handed Lively off and then caught Minka in his arms. “No! Wait Minka!”
Lively began to cry from the quick movement. Ryelle just got in the car, holding her daughter to her chest. Now at this point, Minka is knocking on the window while yelling.“Get out the fucking car!”
“Minka chill-”
“Chill? How the fuck can I chill when I find my fiancé sucking faces with his baby momma?! I can’t believe you Chris!” Minka pushed him away from her. Ryelle cranks up the car then pulls off leaving them to argue.
“We were going to talk Minka, I had got caught up being with Lively.”
“I thought you loved me, why would you do this to me?”
“I do love you, but this relationship makes me feel like I’m not myself. I feel like I’m big-time actor Chris Evans and not Christoper. That’s not how I want to feel for the rest of my life.” He maintained eye contact in hopes that Minka would listen for once.
“Okay and that’s when you communicate with me! I’m your future wife.” She crossed her arms.
“You’re saying that like it’s easy when the person I’m trying to communicate with doesn’t even listen to me!” Chris then takes a huge breath. Throughout this whole argument, Ry stayed on his mind.
“I do listen!” Minka tries to argue. She knows that she is treating him right so he can't put his actions on her. Well, that's what she thinks.
Chris shook his head knowing that she didn’t understand him, “Minka how did you get here?”
“Emeri brought me because we were trying to surprise you guys. I was going to show you that I’m wiling to be a step mother. Henry’s location checked in for here.”
—-
Leilani sat on the hood of Henry’s all-black Mercedes while he stood between her legs. They waited for Chris to call so he could let them know when to leave. They sat in the car first but since it had been a minute waiting on their call, they got out.
“You calm now love?”
“Yes, but it’s just I get so worked up about my sister when she’s fucked with for no reason. Then again, I didn’t want to hit my mother.”
“I’d most definitely be that about my siblings as well. You are very good to your sister.”
“Thank you.” She spoke softly, giving him a tired smile.
The orange light shining above from the street lamp had her beautiful dark skin showing. Henry being taller had a perfect view of everything. He gave a her a kiss on the forehead.
A car a few feet away jams on breaks catching both their attention, a brunette rapidly gets out the car. Recognizing the car and woman, Henry steps back making way to her. “I can explain.”
His girlfriend of 3 years stared at him with tears falling down from her eyes. “Fuck you Henry.”
Leilani stood up from the car, intrigued on who this is. He turns around throwing her his car keys, “Get my car to Ryelle’s house.”
“W-What? W-Where are you-”
Her questions went ignored as Henry put the brunette in the passenger seat then gets in the driver seat pulling off. This happened so fast that Leilani didn’t piece the puzzle together just yet. She got into the driver side of the expensive car and just sat there for a second after cranking it up.
Then it clicked, this is his car. Quickly, she shuffled through his arm rest, a holder that held his folders and even under the seat until she checked the glove compartment. Bingo.
Hair ties, lipgloss, panties, and makeup for a quick re fix along with pictures of them being together. Tears fell as she flipped through the photos knowing that was the answer she sought.
I’m falling in love with a man that is in a relationship. I’m so stupid!”
She lets out a frustrated scream repeatedly hitting the steering wheel. " I'm so fucking stupid ugh!.” Blood dripped from her hands but to her the pain felt good.
I told you, you better stay prayed up
You never thought the universe be looking for revenge
Her previous love attempts were failures, and this is the tip of the iceberg. Life is crumbling down like she is being stabbed in the same spot over and over again. She put the car in drive, heading the nearest store.
Liquor Store to be exact.
You can't keep just doing them girls like that
Thinking that nobody finna bite back
Losing your mind, baby
Can't be sure, time's wasting
“Please don’t fear me, I’m just karma.” She sung lowly walking into the liquor store. The security camera gave her a chance to look at her appearance. Her hair was all over, the makeup gave away that she been crying and her hands were bloody.
“That’ll be 25.87 ma’am.” The cashier responded, looking her up and down, she put 40 dollars in his hand.
“Keep the change.”
She took the plastic wrapping off the top and opened it. Leilani gave herself a shot, feeling the nasty burn when she swallowed. She got into the car and drove all the way to her sister's house.
Leilani sat on the porch, staring at the stars while drinking. The wind starts to blow, and she took a shot for every thought that ran through her mind.
Ryelle lifted herself up from the crying mess she was on the bed. She wanted to take a break from having a cluttered mind. Putting on some crocs, Ry walks downstairs to go out the door. “Lei?” She questioned, trying to see if that was her sister. She was correct.
“Hmm?”
She walked closer to her sister, seeing her having a big liquor bottle in her lap. “You good sis?”
Her low eyes looked up to her sister, “Hell nawl but it is what is, you know. I put my love into the wrong guys.” Ryelle politely sat her ass the fuck down, then grabbed the bottle, untwisted the cap, and flicked that bitch. She chugged a great amount, using the back of her hand to clean her mouth when finishing.
“Tell me the fuck about it!”
“Henry made me feel special like in some moments, I can’t look him the face out of nervousness from that he is so damn fine. Is it bad that I want to fuck that man everyday.”
“You’re not lying. Our men were a fine piece of art.”
“Can I vent to you about Henry?”
“Baby the floor is all yours.”
“We were literally sitting on the hood of his car waiting on you guys and this girl pulls up fast as fuck. I’m dead ass confused and I tried to question him but I choked up, a thousand things going through my mind Ry. He barely answers, throws me the keys then dipped with her. I went through his shit in his car.” Leilani sat up on that ending sentence.
“No, the fuck you didn’t!”Ryelle glanced at her, interested. Lei gave her a “You know I’m mf serious.” look.
“I did, and my intuition was right! That girl is his girlfriend! Panties, makeup, hair ties, the whole fix. We fucked in that car before the dinner! Ugh! I’m a home wrecker!”
“Lei you didn’t know but then again it’s fucked up that he did that. How much this bottle cost? This shit good.”
“25.87. What took you and Chris so long to let us know when to leave?”
“His fiancé walks up on up while we’re in the middle of kissing. Literally, after I told him I love him like a little bitch. I was rushing things and she snapped me out of reality. I took Liv back, and we left.”
“Damn. Take another shot after I take mine.”
“Bet.”
Leilani took a shot and Ry did too.
“What happened to your hands?” Ryelle took notice of her bloodied hands and softly grabbed them to inspect them better.
“They’re fine.”
“No, they’re not, and you know it. Let’s go in so I can heal you up.” Ryelle head swayed back and forth. Her body couldn't be still, definitely indicating that she's drunk.
“Okay fine.” Leilani stood up and then made her way up the steps. When Ryelle got up, her body began to lean forward, and Lei quickly grabbed her sister.
“Ry! Girl!”
Ry was laughing so hard she was wheezing. “Bitch I almost fell forward.”
Lei laughed at her stupidity. “You sure do know how to make a bitch feel better.” She wrapped her arms around her favorite person in the world, and they stumbled into the house.
—————-
Ryelle woke up around 6; her dream mainly consisted of what happened at dinner and afterward. She walked downstairs, straight to the refrigerator, taking out strawberries. Ry debated making eggs and decided to wait until she woke up Lively.
She walked back upstairs to wake her babygirl. Sitting on the bed, Ry rubbed Liv’s back. “Good morning baby.”
Those eyes she loves to see every morning opened. Lively rubbed them first then the eyelids drooped. “Good morning, momma.”
“Do you want eggs?”
“Yes.”
“Well let’s go to the kitchen then sweetheart.”
Ryelle stood from the bed holding out her hand. Lively gladly took her hand and they walked to the kitchen together.
“Mommy, can we add cheese to them?” Lively pushed over the stool as Ryelle grabbed the ingredients. Lastly, Ry placed a frying pan on the stove. "Yes, my love." The two worked together (Mostly Ryelle) to make cheese eggs. When finished, she prepared them a bowl bringing it to the couch.
"Mommy, can we go on a walk to the park?" Lively questioned when finishing her food. Ryelle haven't walked around the neighborhood in a while. "Yes, we can after cleaning up behind ourselves."
Lively gave her a smile as she quickly got up going to the kitchen. After Ryelle got up to put her bowl up, she picked up Lively, and they walked upstairs. It was a bit gloomy today, so Ry checked the weather when she touched her phone. It's supposed to rain in the evening around 5pm, and now it is 7:20 a.m.
Tumblr media
She got Lively ready and got herself ready.
Someone rang the doorbell, catching their attention. "Who is that?" Lively questioned as she got up from the couch, setting the iPad aside. Ryelle shrugged her shoulders, making her way to the door. "I don't know but stay near the couch baby."
"Yes, ma'am." Lively looked skeptical but grabbed her iPad again. She opened the door to see someone holding a vase of roses with an edible arrangement. "Yes?"
"Hi, I'm dropping off this beautiful package to Ryelle! Hope you enjoy!" The woman gave Ryelle the things and then left. Ry walked to the kitchen, still in confusion about who had sent this. She had smelled the beautiful roses. The fruit caught Lively's attention, and she came over to her mother.
"Momma, can I have a fruit, please?" She placed her hands on the bottom to turn the arrangement around. Ryelle didn't hear her at first as she read the card.
"My life is amazing as long as you're in it. - Chris Evans"
The feelings she had for Chris wanted to shoot fireworks in the air but she hoped this isn't his form of apology. Ryelle is angry. Angry at the fact that she was confused about her feelings for him. She doesn't know if she wants to be done with him. Ryelle needs too though because why did he send her this when obviously he chose Minka? She just sat the card down, and Lively calling her name brought her back. "Mommy?"
"H-Huh? I'm sorry babygirl, Mommy zoned out there for a minute. What is it?" Ryelle shook her head, fighting the urge to smell the roses again. Lively points at the shaped fruit, "I want the pineapples."
"Okay, baby." She grabbed a plate from the drying rack then placed 4 pieces of fruit onto the plate then gave it to Lively.
"Thank you mommy."
"You're welcome, baby."
The two walked back to the couch. The whole going to the park thing was thrown to the side when receiving the gift, and now all Ryelle want is either wine or weed. Something has to get her mind off him. "Lively, do you still feel like going to the park? We can go get something to eat from wherever you want it from."
That excited her daughter, "I wanna go to chic fil a so I can go down slide."
A phone call interrupted their conversation, and Ryelle glanced at the caller I.D." Keep hold of that thought bubble. It's your Father calling babygirl." Lively nodded watching her mother press the green button.
"Hello?" "Hey Ry, I... I called to check on you."
Before Ryelle could finish Lively, who clearly doesn't know the vibe of the phone call, spoke in excitement to her father.
"Daddy!!"
"Hey Babygirl, I miss you!"
"I miss you too, daddy. When you come home?"
"Um, it'll be a while, Liv."
That's when the pouting started, and Ryelle wanted to finish the phone call before Liv's feelings are hurt. She cleared her throat.
"We're fine Chris. We were just about to go somewhere for lunch."
"Okay...Okay."
Liv interrupted their moment of silence,"Daddy why you not come home? Did I do something?" Over the line, Chris sighs not knowing how to answer.
"No...No baby, it's not you. Mommy and I just have to talk about some things."
'We ain't got to talk about shit' Ryelle thought to herself. Liv grabs the phone out her hand.
"Wel-Well can you come with us to lunch today?"
Ry looked at her daughter's crazy manner but bit her tongue. She didn't want to ruin Liv's dream, but then again she feels like it was too soon to see him again.
Chris didn't know if Ry even wanted him there, so it was a hitch in his answer. "Uh-"
"Please, daddy? Please?"
"Fine, baby girl, I will go to lunch with you guys."

My Boyfriend's Back Chapter Eight
"She was never attacked. I think she made it all up." I listened as the girls talked. I knew Sidney was too. "Why would she lie about it? And her sister was there too," the other girl said. I peeked around the door to see Heather Parkson and Nancy Ridder. "For attention. The girl has some serious issues. And her yn isn't any better. They want more attention since they're not getting anymore from their mother's murder.
"What if one of them did it? What if Sidney or yn killed Casey and Steve?" Heather said. "And why would they do that? Maybe Sidney was hot for Steve and killed them both in a jealous rage. Or maybe yn killed them because she was jealous. "What would Sidney want with Steve? She has her own bubble-butt boyfriend Billy. And why would yn be jealous of Casey?" Nancy asked. "Because, Stu dated Casey before her. And Sidney's a slut just like her mom."
My knuckles started to turn white from how hard I was gripping the door. "You're evil," Nancy said. "Please, it's common knowledge. Their mother was a trollop," Heather says. "Cut some slack. They watched her mom get butchered." I wanted nothing more than to smash Heather's face into the mirror. I've never liked the bitch.
"And it fucked them up royally. Think about it. It makes perfect sense. Their moms death leaves them distraught and hostile at a cruel and inhumane world, their disillusioned, where's God, etc. Completely suicidal. And one day they snap. They wants to kill themselves but realizes teen suicide is out this year. And homicide is a much healthier therapeutic expression."
That's when I stepped into the bathroom. "You know, Heather, if you're going to talk all that shit maybe you should shove your face into the toilet. I mean you'd look better that way anyway." She looked at me and rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on, yn, I was just messing around," she said. "Yeah, and I'm going to be just messing around when I slam that pretty little face of yours into the mirror," I said, smiling. Then I dropped the smile and walked closer to her. "I suggest you get the fuck out of my face before I should you just how crazy I am," I whispered to her. Nancy grabbed her wrist and she pulled her away from me and out the door.
"Sid? It's okay, you can come out," I said, leaning back against the sink. She came out of the last stall, tears in her eyes. "Don't listen to that bitch. She just had a miserable life and her boyfriend is cheating on her with Jennifer Kennedy." Sideny walked up to the sink and whipped the tears off her cheeks. "I'm so pathetic," she said. I shook my head, "no. No, Sid, you're not, okay? You're nothing like mom. I know you're scared of ending up like her and I know you don't want to believe she would do something like that and keep secrets. But you're not her and never will be." She went to say something until we heard something coming from one of the stalls.
"Hello?" Sidney said but nobody answered. I shrugged and we went to go back to talk but the same noise came from the stall again. I crouched down and looked under the stalls but there wasn't anyone there. I stood back up and looked at Sidney, bringing my finger to my lips. "Sidney." We looked at where the whispered voice came from. "Hello?" I called. There was a few seconds of silence before my name was whispered. "Who's there?!"
I went to move forward when the stall door opened and someone in the same costume as the killer came out and jumped towards me and Sidney. We moved out of the way, making them slam into the sinks. They came at us again and Sidney ducked, sliding under their arm to the other side and ran out the door. He came at me only for me to do the same thing as Sidney and ran out the door and down the stairs. Of course when we told principal Himbry what happened he told the police. Dewey had run upstairs with another officer but found nobody.
As we were walking out of the school Tatum caught up to us. "From now on you pee, I pee." Sidney was sure it was the actual killer but I didn't. He had no knife. It was probably some stupid little asshole who wanted to scare us. We were walking across the road when Stu caught up to us. He came up saying something about school being out and handed each of us a flower. "Whatever you did–the entire student body, thanks you!" He yelled. He leaned down and kissed my cheek before throwing me over his shoulder.
"Stu, put me down!" I say, lightly hitting his back. His hand came down on my ass in a hard slap and I yelped. "And to celebrate this impromptu fall break, I propose we have a party. Tonight, my house," he said, sitting me down, and wrapping his arm around my waist. "Are you serious?" Sidney asked, as we came to a stop. "My parents are out of town. It'll be like my hurricane bash last year. Nothing extreme. Just a few of us, bangin'."
Stu pulled me in front of him and wrapped both arms around me, resting his chin on my shoulder. "This could be good. What do you think, Sid?" Tatum asked. She looked at me and I smiled. "Safety in numbers, right? Come on, the killer isn't going to come to a party full of high schools." She sighed, "I don't know," she said. "Come on. Pathos has its perks," Tatum told her. Stu kissed my neck as we looked at Sidney.
"Reinember, there's safety in numbers," he said. "Yeah, okay. Whatever," she finally said. "Cool. See you guys tonight. Bring food!" He said, picking me up and taking off back across the road to his car. "Do you have work?" He asked after we got into the car. "Nope," I said, popping the P. "Cool. I'm want to stop at the video store to talk to Randy then we can go home and I can fuck you again before we get ready for the party." I sighed and rolled my eyes. "I'm still a little sore, Stu," I whined. "I'll make it all better, baby, don't you worry." He pulled out onto the road and headed for the video store.

I want to tell a story about financial abuse and how I experienced it at different points in my life while being abused by narcissistic unfit parents and later my abusive ex partner.
This instance happened when I was 20 years old and freshly graduated from university.
I was living with my mum in the short term while I worked and waiting for my graduate course to begin. I only agreed to stay with her because she had told me she was in active therapy and she promised me living with her would be different this time.
It lasted for less than two weeks before we were back to her rage outs and her vile comments. But I'd just moved all my stuff in and it was only 3 months so I decided to stick it out.
One of her promises when I first agreed to move in was that she didn't expect me to pay rent. It's a massive faux pas in our culture to expect your adult children to pay rent to live with you and its not like my mother was hurting for money, so I believed her.
Four weeks before I was set to leave I lost my job. It wasn't a big deal. I had enough savings to get me to uni and a little extra for the short term.
My mum started to ask when I planned on getting another job. I told her probably after I enrolled in my course since I would only be in the city a few weeks now. She didn't like that. She told me that she had changed her mind, and now rent was expected in return for me living with her, and if I didn't have a job by end of week she'd evict me.
Obviously this was a fucking nightmare. Nobody was willing to hire somebody for 3 weeks and the jobs that would were scammy and predatory as fuck. My mum took my savings as "back rent" and made clear that the rent was not enough, I needed to be in 40 weekly hours of employment to live in her house.
Then, after days of constant abuse and horrible-ness she came to me with a new ultimatum. She had just joined a MLM scam and needed a downline. I could agree to be her downline or I could move out tomorrow.
I spent the last of my savings on the cheapest "starter kit" she offered and the next part of the job was to reach out to everyone on my Facebook friends list to offer them product. It was embarrassing and demeaning. It felt like I was begging people for money.
Over the last weeks I lived with my mum my routine was to be up into the early morning on facebook watching "inspirational" livestreams that the company broadcast from the other side of the world. I'd then sleep till no later than my mother's alarm to "network" (ie, sit on Facebook joining community groups) eat lunch, run errands then log back into Facebook to advertise the product to strangers until the companies started it's livestream at midnight my time. Where I'd take notes for my mother who'd gone to bed.
According to my mum I made £700 of sales that week. I never saw a penny of it. I was exhausted and I felt horrid about the whole situation, but it's not like I had a minute free to process my feelings. I was even expected to cancel my own therapy sessions while this was happening.
Three days before I was set to leave, my mum had a massive blow up at me and my sister. I'd "done something wrong" on the marketing side, caused Facebook to freeze our accounts.
It started at 7am. My mum screaming at my sister and slamming doors woke me up. Then the sound of her stomping down the corridor, punching the walls on her way down. Then she was in my room calling me a cunt and a bitch and stupid and god knows what else. I sat up and looked at her sleepily, but I could tell all she wanted was for me to be terrified like I was as a little girl, and I wasn't going to give it to her.
"You've stopped all the work" she raged at me "we can't work now we can't sell and it's all your fault."
"So what do you want me to do about it?" I said.
To be honest, I didn't and still don't accept that it was my fault. I think we were just joining a mass number of Facebook groups and advertising tat in them, obviously enough people had reported me for Facebook to take action. I wasn't going to jump through hoops to apologise for what any MLM scammer will tell you is a risk of the trade.
"What can you do? You've lost your own job, you've cost me mine, you're swanning off to university this week and you've left me with all this."
"Well if there's nothing I can do there's nothing I can do." I said plainly.
She mimed smacking me then said in a snarl I know she tried her best to seem menacing "you're not too old for a beating you know."
I laughed in her face.
She'd tried to beat me 2 years before when I was 18. I defended myself and she didn't like that, she came out of it just as bruised as I did and she never tried it again. She obviously thought that me being broke and sleep deprived would change the situation in her favor. We never found out because she stormed off angry.
I spent the last two days there with my sister. We went shopping and drinking and had a good time. I told her my flat would be waiting for her when she was 18 and legally able to move out. It was a good send off, all things considering.
When I left I left behind the untouched starter pack. My mum sold it for £15 on ebay. She never apologised to me, she never admitted she was in the wrong. If the attempted beating when I was 18 put us on the path to the relationship we have now, this 3 month experience living with her cemented it. I was open to an apology for years afterwards, but she didn't think I was owed one. Eventually I just stopped expecting it to come. I'm not going to forgive someone who isn't sorry.

My thoughts on Wind
Finally finished reading book 4 of A Starless Clan. I've got a lot of opinions on it, as expected. It's going to be long and rambly. There will be major spoilers under the read more. My thoughts might only make sense to me so I understand if nobody wants to read this, but I really want to get out my feelings on this book
Shout out to @shadowfern for sending me the link to the pdf! Tysm again!!!
Let's start this off by talking about the best girl in the whole world: Frostpaw. Oh my sweet baby. They really put her Through It this book. She was so right to come forward during the gathering in chapter one to speak out against Splashtail.
But then Duskfur. Oooh my god Duskfur. Literally what was her fucking damage? Frostpaw is her freaking GRANDDAUGHTER. But I guess because Frostpaw mentioned Curlfeather being an evil mastermind, Duskfur was pissed about it? Which is understandable. Who wants to hear that their child is a murderer, someone who organized the death of important figures in your society?
But then she goes on to accuse Frostpaw of being a liar and a manipulator because *gasp* she was a manipulated teen who couldn't figure out what was right and what was wrong!? She was tricked by Curlfeather into being a medicine cat, as Splashtail reiterates. She does eventually get real visions, though. However, because she had a few false visions, nobody will believe her about them. But like. Frostpaw is a kid essentially, with not a lot of training yet, and who doesn't have much of a guide when it comes to visions because Mothwing doesn't get them. How was Frostpaw supposed to distinguish what was real and what was a dream all on her own?
Regardless Duskfur is a bitch in the first chapter who backs up Splashtail and his condescending speech about how much Frostpaw had been through and how much of a poir little meow meow she is because of it
And then she proceeds to get exiled. Her clanmates know she's been through so much, and yet they allow her to be cast out from her home away from the support of her family
A family which comprises of mostly bastards at this current moment, including Duskfur, Icewing, and Podlight. Shout out to the do-nothing siblings Graypaw and Mistpsw though
I hate the characterization of Icewing in this first chapter because she doesn't do much. Podlight is another creature entirely. He's so vile. Gives off evil henchman vibes, almost on the same wavelength as Darkstripe
I'll come back to those cats later, let's get back to talking about Frostpaw. After getting exiled she has to frantically look between the leaders to see who might take her into their clan, so she doesn't become a rogue. Squirrelstar almost agrees but because she doesn't want to cause trouble she hesitates (we'll also get back to this characterization later). Tigerheartstar instead offers Frostpaw a temporary place in Shadowclan
If I had a nickle for every time Tigerheartstar took in an exiled Riverclan medicine cat I'd have 2 nickles. Which isn't a lot but its weird it happened twice
I love the dynamic between Frostpaw and Shadowsight. I've seen people shipping them but I literally cannot picture them being romatic with each other. I get big brother little sister vibes from them. I feel like Puddleshine's wariness of Frostpaw was dumb, though.
Puddleshine did eventually come around, when he snuck to the moon pool with Frostpaw to see if Splashtail would go to get his nine lives. I hate how he didn't start believing Frostpaw until Riverstar appeared though. Splashtail and Podlight sitting around, laughing about how useless Starclan is and how they're literally at the moon pool just to say they went, doesn't convince Puddleshine that Frostpaw was telling the truth. But Riverstar hopping over their heads unseen just to wink at Puddleshine and Frostpaw convinces him. Ok.
Great job guiding the living btw Riverstar. Clearly not doing anything or saying anything beyond that one tiny scene was helpful
Anyways, Puddleshine, finally believing Frostpaw, goes with her to tell Tigerheartstar about everything was great. Actually I hate to say if but I really liked Tigerheartstar this book. He was literally the only tolerable and competent leader throughout the entire thing. Even better than Squirrelstar
Speaking of Squirrelstar. Oh boy.... What the hell did they do to her?
I expected the Erins to do one of four things with Squirrelstar. 1) Kill her by the end of this book (and say she lied about getting her nine lives). 2) Make her a very aggressive leader. 3) Leave her character alone and write her as she has been. Or 4) make her incompetent and have her be the first deposed leader
Instead, they made Squirrelstar the most do nothing leader imaginable. To the point where other characters in the text itself were mentioning how she's doing nothing at all, and how unexpected that is. Squirrelstar states she doesn't want to shake things up because of being a new leader. She's trying to gain the other leaders' respect
Which I could understand. If this was any other character in the entirety of warriors, minus Firestar. Squirrelflight was always the type to be headstrong doing things her own way, to follow her heart, and do what needs to be done especially for the good of others. Squirrelstar even mentions that about herself! "As Squirrelflight I'd agree with you. But as Squirrelstar I'm afraid I can't." There is literally no difference though, she's still the same cat!!!
I understand she's also trying to protect Thunderclan and keep her warriors safe. She's responsible for all these lives. But she was responsible for them before as well! She was deputy ffs. A clan deputy is responsible for the lives of their clanmates as much as a leader is. Squilf even acted as temporary leader, and still did not behave like this at that time! I don't understand why she had to be written as someone too hesitant to act because of fear of being judged. Squilf was literally never like that before until this book. She's basically a new character and I think I hated this most of all out of everything else in Wind.
Actually none of the leaders except Tigerheartstar want to act in this book. Squirrelstar and Harestar both want to wait to stop Splashtail until Riverclan is ready to stop him. In the old books though, if there was something going on in the other clans the leaders didn't like, they'd fight about it (for example: how Shadowckan and Winclan teamed up to raid Thunderclan after discovering they were housing Brokentail as their prisoner. Or how Lionclan first formed to stop Tigerstar from ruling over all the clans.)
Also now that I mention fighting, there are literally no battles waged in the entire book. The closest thing we get is the battle training in Riverclan camp where Splashtail was forcing cats to fight each other aggressively with claws out.
And the most violent 2 scenes in the book were when a tree fell on Winclan's nursery, and Splashtail killed Harelight in front of his clan because Harelight dared to have a different opinion than him
Harelight deserved better tbh. He was one of the best characters in the story and he barely had a part to play. Rip king
Let's talk about some other characters now. Nightheart for instance. He was actually also tolerable in this book. I like how his character has progressed. He's growing up and isn't as much of a jerk like he was in the beginning, good for him.
I liked his relationship with Wasp and Waffle. Though I'm surprised neither of them insisted on following Frostpaw. Especially with how determined Wasp was to become a Riverclan cat. I'm shocked he didn't loyally follow Frostpaw wherever she went due to her connection to Riverstar. Instead both cats went with Nightheart to Thunderclan which was fine for a while
Nightheart makes for a good mentor, surprisingly. I like the way he taught Wasp and Waffle about things. Though I don't like that he was chosen to be Wafflepaw's mentor. It makes sense, but like other characters said, the apprentices could have gone to more experienced cats than Nightheart and Co.
The relationship between Nightheart and Sunbeam is cute here and there but their chemistry is almost non existent. Sunbeam has more chemistry with Finchlight, Bayshine, and Myrtlebloom than Nightheart. Finchlight should steal Sunbeam from Nightheart sorry not sorry
Sunbeam's turn now. Once again her chapters felt the weakest compared to the other POVs. She doesn't really bring anything new to the table, her perspective shows nearly the same things Nightheart's does and her personality is kind of generic. The only thing she has is mommy angst, and love for Nightheart. She worries about her family in most of her chapters, when they don't really want her around unless she helps them and/or stays with them. Berryheart is especially mean towards Sunbeam. She feels betrayed, sure, but that's still her kid who's trying to heal the disgusting infection that slowly killing her. Look at that Sunbeam's so uninteresting I started talking about Berryheart instead. Let's dive into that more
I didn't think Berryheart would have that much influence over the plot anymore tbh. But this stupid cat is gripping it tightly with the tips if her grubby little paws refusing to let go. Throughout most of her mentioned moments she's slowly wasting away from a nasty wound she obtained by being too stubborn to get off the road. She refuses treatment from Sunbeam because she didn't agree with mommy dearest and follow her to exile so now Berryheart's basically disowned Sunbeam (its never stated but implied by her behavior).
Another reason Berryheart refuses medicine is because they are "clan herbs" and she refuses anything from the clans. Although idk how she was able to tell the herbs came from a clan vs Sunbeam finding them on her own but whatever. Then several chapters later she's magically joined Riverclan and proclaims to be one of the most loyal cats there??? Idk how Berryheart went from being a diehard Shadowclan loyalist, to a bitter rogue hating all the clans, to a Riverclan cat. Sunbeam thinks it might be due to Berryheart fighting to survive but by the time she's shown in Riverclan she seems almost back to full health. Maybe she's planning to destroy the clans now, from the inside out, starting with Riverclan. Who knows. I guess we'll find out in the next book or two. I'm disappointed Berryheart didn't die and that they're continuing on with her as a villain. I'm on the fence of whether I like her being a villain anymore. On one hand, yay a villain who's clanborn and a female. On the other, she's a really annoying and a poorly written villain
Moving on to other, more minor characters: Mothwing Duskfur, and Icewing. We don't see much of them (especially past the first chapter). When we do, though, they're talking to Frostpaw about how right she is and how none of them want Splashtail in power anymore.
This is an especially surprisingly development from Duskfur who earlier was very outspoken about accepting him. The in-story excuse is that Riverclan just wanted a leader finally, and were willing to accept that Podlight suddenly wanted to be a healer and magically had a connection to Starclan which told him that Splashtail was their new ruler. The real excuse is that it's piss poor writing and the Erins make whatever cat do whatever is necessary for the plot, even if that means their personality needs to takes an entire 180 in the middle of the book.
Icewing is still pretty useless in the story, which is a shame because she had a decent roll last book. Mothwing's character stayed somewhat the same, though. She's still kind of mean to Frostpaw. She's sort of a do-nothing, too, but not as much as the leaders. She wants to make a change but doesn't act at first because then Riverclan would be left without a proper medicine cat, which is a more valid excuse for her inaction compared to Squirrelstar's, Tigerheartstar's, and Harestar's.
Lightleap was mentioned in one chapter and she had an attitude. What a tragedy. Blazefire and Dovewing weren't mentioned at all which was a huge loss, because we lovewing Dovewing here, and I just think Blazefire is neat (I like his name, I'm biased purely because of that)
Whistlepaw was really good in this book, as she was in the last. I feel like she was unjustly punished for helping Frostpaw as I stated in this post here, I won't repeat myself about that point again. I liked her during the Windckan chapters, when the tree fell on the nursery. Her mentioning the kit she was trying to save, Leafkit, was her baby sister was sooo nice. The Erins rarely write cats acknowledging younger siblings as such so that was cute. It made the worry and care Whisperpaw expressed during that scene all the better because it wasn't just a medicine cat trying to do their job and save someone. It was a sister desperately trying to get to their sister. Whistlepaw is my second favorite character in this arc next to Frostpaw and not just because of my next point.
Whistlepaw × Frostpaw is the most superior ship in the book, and dare I say throughout the current arc. Their dialog with each other once Sunbeam rescued Leafkit was so gay it was amazing. Like legit their interactions with each other here as well as through most of A Starless Clan have more chemistry than any other pairings do
Also this is random but I feel like either Whistlepaw or Leafkit will get a POV next arc. Probably Leafkit because the writers took the time to describe what she looks like even though Leafkit only appeared for this one scene. Please Erins give us a Winclan POV
I suppose I should talk about Splashtail now. He's a really lame villain tbh. I'm glad we have a clanborn bad guy for a change, but he literally sucks. He wants to be leader because he wants to make Riverclan stronger, great. And then he proceedes to do that by having his warriors beat the shit out of each other to toughen them up and make them seem like the strongest clan. Ok. Idk how that accomplishes anything rn. I'm sure this means Riverclan will get to cause the one fight scene that happens next book, hooray /s
No but seriously I see where this whole evil Splashtail plot is going. He doesn't like Starclan because he doesn't want to listen to what they say or follow their rules. The moral of this arc is going to be that following Starclan is the right thing to do, they are the ultimate good, and anybody who doesn't follow Starclan is a dirty heretic. It's christian religious propaganda and I'm tired of it, but whatever I'm to obsessed with these stupid cats to stop reading
Overall this book was very disappointing and boring. I'm sad to see this arc taking such a boring turn, and I'm worried about what the next books will bring. The arc was so promising and now it sucks, tragic
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. Members of the Frostpaw Defense Club rise up!
I give this book 3/10 Stars

Antis will never be welcome in my life.
I have always had trust issues because of trauma, but I had 2 friends I made in elementary school I was friends with until middle school. One went to a private school and the other one moved five hours away. I did get back in touch with the private school girl but the other one ignored my texts for years. Private school girl wasn't exactly nice to me but because of trauma I had low self esteem and I believed if I ever stood up for myself everyone would hate me. Fast forward, I lost touch with private school girl for a while and I had attempted suicide and nearly succeeded. Nobody had texted me or checked up on me. So Nobody visited me. Some time later, private school girl wanted to hang out again and was apologizing for how she treated me. We talked for a while and I slept over her house a lot. One day, I was maybe 14 or 15 at this point, I opened up to her about what being proship was. I had never told anyone i was proship in real life before. She said she agreed with me and later that day flashed me without ny consent when she told me she had a girlfriend.
when I left that morning she hugged me. She then started ignoring me for months and Christmas came. We had planned to get each other gifts. I got a squishmallow, a keychain, and a necklace I think that I bought with my own money. I went to her house and her sister opened the door and she took the stuf and private school girl wouldn't come down. Pretty rude if you ask me. I ended up getting in touch with the other friend and after a while I explained to her what proship was and she said she'd considered herself proship now. One of her friends was transphobic towards me and she stayed friends with them but that's not the point. She said that private school girl had been ignoring her for 2 years. We were good friends for a while until summer I invited her over my house and she ditched me twice. After this she started ignoring me for five months and when I told her she wouldn't be invited to my birthday party she blocked me. At one point, I got Instagram and reached out to people I used to know because I didn't have many friends. I got a message from someone I wasn't comfortable talking to. I was talking with someone who I was friends with but she was always friends with bad people. I got a message from someone who used to bully me and had a Trigger response and sent the old friend a long message about how I won't be abused anymore. She then ran with the story I was accusing her of something I didn't. I tried to clear things up with her and was sent a message from my abuser that I was being aggressive and needed to leave her alone and accusing me of all these things I never did and basically treated me like a criminal because I asked once to be unblocked. I then learned they were friends with private school girl and it made my blood boil. Here's what they did to me
Screaming in my face randomly, twisting my arm, calling me fat when I was suffering with anorexia, picking me up without my permission, calling me a bitch for literally no reason. She was also friends with our other friend now that she had ignored for 2 years. And then it hit me. She was definitely spreading rumors about me to her and convinced her to block me.
Private school girl said she just couldn't recognize me and she was scared of me because her sister was proship and did something bad and said I was too complicated of a person because I have mental health issues and her new friends aren't like that.
She made me afraid to open up to anyone ever again because I'd become too complicated to deal with.
Antis will never be welcome on this page.

Okay so the girl that made up the rumor that I was pregnant, let's call her Jessa. Close enough.
Well after we get out of the woods and my brothers are flipping out, Jessa gets jealous because she thought something was going on. It didn't take much for her to get jealous because she was like possessive over this dude. She didn't like him sitting next to other girls in class. Us being the ages 13 and 14, that age and that time was so toxic. So first it starts with the rumor that me and this dude - we'll call him Cody - had sex in the woods and we lied about getting lost during capture the flag. This rumor was not known to me until three weeks after that happened. And once something like this happens, people don't understand how making up stuff about someone can damage their reputation. Even if you are proven innocent, people still can or even subconsciously look at you differently. It was the last weekend of October and it was suppose to be so much fun because weeks prior I got invited to my first Halloween party. It was just a all girls party but last minute supposedly the party was called off. Now keep in mind that a lot of the girls that was going besides Jessa was from youth group. The next day it's Sunday, I walk into youth class and there's only a few of us so far. One of the girls that I hung out with was unusually quiet and not talkative at all. As the class fills up I am getting a few weird stares even from my friends. I knew something was wrong. And not only that but the youth pastors vibe felt off and he kept his head down in his bible. Normally we always got a good uplifting lesson but today the verses just felt cold. Jessa of course kept looking at me and Cody was not in church this day. I tried ignoring it the best I could until after class. I kinda comment to another friend that the atmosphere was weird in the class. This friend was the one that told about the rumor that me and Cody hooked up. I was absolutely sickened and I asked her who said it? And of course it was Jessa and her mom. This is when I learned that not only was Jessa a bitch but her mom was too. She also told me the party was not canceled, I was uninvited because my friends parents believed Jessa and her moms lies. She didn't want me to be a "bad influence" on their daughter.
I was so angry that I had tears in my eyes. I had to literally compose myself in the bathroom. After I washed my face, I seen red.
So would do I do? I confronted Jessa. She tried to play dumb at first and than threatened me. And she said and I still remember it "Nobody can prove that you didn't do anything with Cody just like nobody can prove that I lied."
The next few weeks was hell and looking back I should had told my parents. But it was just awkward to talk to them about sex at that age. What made it worse, the next week that Cody was there because he didn't show up the previous week because he heard the rumors before I did. Some of the older boys that was in high school was giving him slaps on the back. And he ended up getting in a fight with one of them. I am glad he didn't go along with the lies to make himself look good. But than when the teachers set them down and asked what caused the fight nobody would talk because again like me it's awkward to talk to an adult about sex. This lie goes on and on until Jessa and her mom started saying I was pregnant. That's when it really blew up through out the church. A lot of close family friends in the church didn't believe it but the associate pastor and the youth pastor did right along with some other higher ups. Finally I had to tell someone, I ended up going to my brothers before it got back to my parents and I told them what was going on. They wanted to fight but of course they couldn't because they was raised to never put a hand on a woman. They even contemplated hiring a kid and a woman to kick Jessa and her moms ass lmfao. My brothers show no mercy when someone picks on their younger sister😂 Because my brothers couldn't do anything they sat down with me with my parents to tell them what's happening because it was just to awkward for me. My parents go to the pastor and the youth pastor thinking that if they say these rumors are false this would stop. And it didn't because there was no proof. Even Cody denying what happened, it still did not stop it. People was whispering and laughing behind my back. I even had a few people treating me as if I was pregnant, telling me not to lift chairs because I always helped clean up after class. It was so embarrassing!
Finally about 3 months after the first rumor started, the pastor's wife finally got Jessa's mom to admit that the rumors came out of her daughters mouth first. I confronted Jessa again in the entry hall. She again admitted it and stalked off. I happen to look up and Skip, God has a sense of humor... There was a security camera! The red light was on. I asked the pastor if I could have the recording. The quality was shit but the audio was perfect. You could hear her confession loud and clear. The pastor said let me deal with it. He than came up with a plot to have it playing on the projector screens in both the youth class and for all the congregation to hear. The chaos that disrupted that cold January Sunday morning I will never forget. My mom punched Jessa's mom and she almost got arrested. Jessa and her whole family was asked to leave the church but... not right before someone let it slip that Jessa's mom was having an affair with the youth pastor. So that's why the youth pastor believed the rumors about me. The youth pastor's wife - now ex-wife - gets in a fist fight with her cheating husband.
So both Jessa's mom and the youth pastor got their asses kicked that day.
It was a holy mess Skip. Although I was finally glad the truth was out and I got a lot of apologies from people, but I still had a few people questioning me which means they probably still had contact with Jessa's family. But it didn't matter and eventually those people left the church and it became a lot peaceful.

Emo and Irritating diary entry because I HAVE to get these stupid fucking feelings out before my practice test so they're not There. LILY. ABSOLUTELY NOT.
So my aunt texts me just now--the first communication in a long time, the last time she texted me was this summer BEGGING me to just call my mother (for those not in the know, I came out to my parents this summer and my mother especially said some hurtful fucking shit) because she's dying without my contact and whatever whatever.
So my aunt texts me that she's coming to visit my mother in January and I should "stop being stubborn" and just come too, with a kiss emoji.
And it just. Fucks me up so bad. The way they're acting like I'm not visiting or calling because I'm just some Massive Bitch and not because I was called a pervert and akin to a pedophile and my lifestyle was vile and told that 80% of people secretly hated gays but they were too afraid of liberals making them lose their jobs to say anything, and like my mother didn't find my (AKA. MY GIRLFRIEND'S) current address and say that she was thinking about coming here and Bringing Me Back Home So I Could Fix This, and then like she didn't sent packages to my next address without telling me and then taunted me that she would always find my address, that she calls randomly either to just talk about her day like Nothing has happened between us or to verbally berate me for being a disgusting homosexual who she can't believe she allowed around has dishonored the family (I tried to explain to my father that this wasn't a phase by saying that I was going to marry a woman when I do get married and she went OFF--how could I say such a thing? It made her nearly puke, how could I shamelessly say such a thing to my father???)
Like I don't have reason to fear that when I come home I'm not going to be allowed to leave.
Like you didn't just! Say all of that! And when I expressed that I wasn't talking to you (AKA NOT CALLING. I STILL PICK UP THEIR CALLS WHEN THEY CALL BECAUSE I'M AFRAID THEY'LL SLIT THEIR FUCKING WRISTS ON ME) because what you said hurt my feelings you said hurt your feelings? By trying to save your soul? And an apology is FREE. An apology, or just. I'm wrong. It's okay to be gay. IS FREE. BUT YOU WON'T DO IT.
And you won't call me directly, mom! I pick up when you do! No, you demand I CALL YOU. And you send your husband and your sister to make me call you. Like some weird power play. They literally don't talk to me unless it's to tell me to call you.
I'm not going to fucking call you. I don't care if you send money--I tell you I don't need money. I know my father has to teach at 3 different fucking unis because you can't support the kids you have right now. I actively Refuse The Money. Sending it doesn't fix anything. Just. Say you were wrong.
Be nice to me.
But you won't fucking Do it. I don't understand what motivates you. I'm sorry. I don't. I know you think I'll change my mind. That this is some horrible awful phase and I'll come out of this dishonored but REPENTANT and I'll be the bestest daughter who goes to heaven ever, I know. It's not happening. I can't stay around you all the time knowing you only want me there A. out of habit B. because you think this will change.
I feel awful for you. I do.
I know you know I feel awful because when I started crying on the phone with you you said GOOD. GOOD! YOU UNDERSTAND HOW HORRIBLE WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS!
No, dumbass. I'm crying because you started yelling at me calling me a heartless monster who is basically a pedophile and is dishonored and nobody will want to marry me anymore even if I am fixed.
What the fuck do you want me to do, kill myself?
I should have killed myself. I literally had the right idea, didn't I? You would have rather had me dead than have me walking around dishonoring the family name by being a DYKE. Eeeeeverybody claims they like their people alive until they realise how easy dead people are to love. They'll never contradict you. They're always perfect. Preserved however you remember them--and you only remember the good things. Especially if they die before you learn the truth. I literally had the right idea but you, yourself, you idiot, you got mad at me for trying to kill myself.
But you mocked me for needing therapy and medication then, too!
You tried to take me out of therapy BECAUSE they're nice to gay people there! You said so yourself!
You can't even seek therapy for yourself right now because you can't stand knowing a therapist would think you were homophobic! So it's my problem! God!
What if I just fucking died and I never had to deal with you again? And you never got your emotional punching bag back? What then? Pick on your other fucking kids.
I felt like your husband sometimes. The way my father just wouldn't CARE. So I would buy the anniversary presents, and your flowers, and the birthday presents, and I would just say hey this is from dad and me. The way I had to call him from here to get him to get you flowers on Valentine's Day. The way you'd come home stressed out and just unload on me. I unload on the people around me now and I hate it I just know I'm turning them into something they don't WANT TO BE. Because I didn't want to be all you had. All you'd talk about was that. How your parents were dead. How you hated moving here. How I was your only friend. How you were so lonely without me. How you wanted to live near me forever. I know you're lonely. I'm fucking sorry. I don't know what you want from me.
Want something I can do. Please.
I can't marry a man. Sorry. Don't you think I tried to like them? I tried really hard. For so long. I was so sure I could do it. I JUST CAN'T. I CAN EVEN LIKE THEM AS PEOPLE AND IT JUST WON'T WORK. IT JUST WON'T WORK. I CAN'T LIVE UNDER THOSE CONDITIONS.
So do you want me dead?
No, naturally not. But you weren't happy with celibacy. AT THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 20 all I would hear is how I need to get married soon, I'm getting too old, I have to get married before I get too used to a career, whatever whatever whatever.
Whatever whatever whatever.
Don't you think I fucking cry for you?
I fucking cry for you! All the time! I assume you must cry for me, if you're half the mother you think you are! BUT YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE ABILITY TO FIX THIS! NOT ME!
And you won't do it. Fine. I never expected you to change. But all you do is expect me to change.
I come home in January and I'm miserable and you're miserable and, look, we were cruel to each other when I was closeted. How nice do you think you can be to me now? And I still don't trust you to let me leave. Sorry.
I feel like a monster. All the time.
And I feel like a child. Where I just can't get you to understand that you're hurting me unless I start hitting myself on the head with rocks! THE ONLY TIME IN MY LIFE YOU EVER ACKNOWLEDGED I WAS IN PAIN WAS WHEN I WAS TRYING TO KILL MYSELF. AND EVEN THEN YOU KEPT TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH I HURT YOU.
I AM THIRTEEN YEARS OLD.
WOULD YOU JUST FUCKING THINK ABOUT HOW I FEEL.
This is driving me crazy. I feel like you did this right before my final to fuck with me. I know you didn't but that's how it feels.
I'm too stubborn.
I'm just awful, I guess!
I'm under a lot of fucking stress right now and I can't find a way to make it clear to people that I don't think I can fucking handle it on my own without getting the SAD CONCERNED FACE or just. acting out like a CHILD. HEY. LOOK HOW ANNOYING I AM. DON'T YOU WANT TO PROVE THAT I'M BAD BY GETTING ANNOYED AT ME? DON'T YOU WANT TO PROVE THAT I'M A MONSTER!
I can't find any way out of the mess that is our relationship without one of us dying. I think I am the monster. It feels like you won't get to be free and live a Good and Human life without me just being GONE. Because right now you are not acting rationally!
So whatever. And now I get to take this stupid practice exam.

Inside, outside
Pairing: 10k x reader, Addy Carver sister!reader
Warnings: swearing, kidnapping, drinks being spiked
Chapter: 1.11
You turn and peer out of the vehicle, finding no movement or signs of life while trying to ignore the crushing emptiness you feel inside.
“Do you think we will ever see them again?” Cassandra asked quietly.
“Mack and Addy?” Warren locked eyes with you.
You lean your head against the glass window, as a soft sigh escapes your lips. “It’s fine. Be honest about what you think.”
For days, nobody had mentioned either of them trying their best not to upset you.
She nodded, “Honestly? My heart says yes, but my mind says no.”
Doc shook his head, “I was kind of hoping they’d make it with us to the promised land.”
10K gave you a reassuring smile.
You felt guilty for being so sad. When the apocalypse started, you only had Addy, and now you had a group of people who felt like family. Even on the bad days, they still made you laugh and smile. You were never really alone. But your sister had just chosen a cult over you, and her boyfriend probably died trying to get her out.
And it’s hard not to agonise over that.
Warren grunts, “Now what?”
As soon as she realises how many cars are blocking the road, Warren spins the truck and drives onto a golf course. She stopped in front of a wooden bridge to see if it was strong enough to hold the weight of the truck.
You jumped on top of the bridge, “seems pretty solid.”
“Citizen Z calling all cars, calling all cars.”
Warren’s brows lift. “Delta- Xray back at you.”
“Hello, good to hear from you again. It’s been days, and I worry.”
“Thanks mom,” Warren quipped. “Any news on Mack or Addy?”
“No, nothing yet. Maybe they’re just off the grid and can’t make contact... For what it’s worth, Astra, I’ve overheard them talking about you loads. I know Addy will definitely be missing you.”
“Aww, wait! Can you always hear what we are saying?” You asked. You thought of the times you’d teased Addy about Citizen Z crushing on her, you hoped he hadn’t heard it.
Murphy snatched the radio from Warren's hands. “Murphy is pissed! Where the hell is that lab you keep talking about? And have you found that witch doctor that almost killed me?”
“I’m still working on that.”
“And you call yourself the NSA?” Murphy spat. “Quit looking at porn and find that quack. We've got business to settle.”
“Even nerds watch porn,” Doc elbowed 10K playfully.
“You’ve never watched porn?”
He pauses for a long minute, looking at you with an intense expression on his face. “Have you?”
You chuckled, “I plead the fifth.” Hearing a rustling sound, you spin round fast, “Z’s!”
You take turns firing at them until Warren and 10K both run out of ammo. You all retreat to the clubhouse.
You locked the door behind you, then noticed there was a person missing, “Murphy?”
“He’s safer out there than we are here,” Doc said, pointing towards a bathroom.
As the Z’s break through the glass doors, you, Warren, and Doc push up against the bathroom door. More Z’s pushed on the opposite side, making it harder. “This isn’t going to hold much longer!”
10K eyes light up, “gunfire?”
The pressure on the other side of the door lightens as gunfire echoes nearby. After a moment, a voice calls, “You can come out now.”
“That wasn’t Murphy,” you whisper.
“It wasn’t a Z either,” Warren says, with uncertainty in her voice. “All right, get ready.”
You pull the knife out of your belt, waiting for the door to open. When you exit the bathroom, two armed men and a woman are standing waiting for you. “It’s okay, it’s all clear.”
“Nice timing.”
“Don’t get too relaxed,” the woman says. “There is more out there.”
“I don’t believe it,” the younger man says.
You follow his train of vision to see Murphy playing golf outside, while wearing a stupid blazer that he’s probably stolen from a Z.
“Son of a bitch,” you say as you walk outside. “Did you not think of helping us?”
Murphy laughed at your words before confronting the strangers. “Who the hell are who?”
“Brett Zimmerman,” he said, motioning to the older man. “This is Henry and Janis.”
Warren stepped forward and introduced everyone. “I’m Roberta Warren. This is 10K, Doc, Cassandra, and Astra. The fool with the jacket golfing with the zombies is Murphy.”
You watch as Doc chews on a piece of meat from the grill. The strangers who saved you had invited you to stay for dinner. At first, Warren tried to refuse, but they insisted, and said you could stock up on supplies.
Brett poured a strange-smelling liquid into your glass and asked, “Do you have any ID, Miss?”
“Carver,” you answered. “And no, I don't think anyone does now.”
“Oh, well,” he shrugged before sitting back down. “I won’t be needing it now anyway, since I’ve already found out everything I need to know.”
“And that is?”
“You're a miss, not a Mrs,” he winked.
You struggle to keep your composure as a hand light smacks against your thigh. You give Cassandra a wide-eyed look, telling her to stop. She and Doc both found Brett's flirting funny, but 10K didn’t look impressed.
“So Warren,” Brett said with a smile.
You can see Warren nod her head and say, “Roberta.”
“Roberta,” he repeats. “Would you like to make a toast?”
Everyone minus you takes a drink as Warren raises a glass to absent friends. It doesn’t take long for Murphy to make the conversation about himself, as he starts telling them how he’s the saviour of the world. A look of concern crosses Warren's face.
You let out a snort, “Murphy tends to... spin his stories a little to fit his audience.”
Janis turns and gives you a cold stare, “We all know what we saw outside.”
“Only a mad man would believe him,” you chuckle, trying to pretend everything Murphy said was one big joke.
You lean back in the chair and go to take a sip of your drink, but stop when you notice Brett staring. His stare sends a chill down your spine.
You look across the table and notice 10K's head swaying. You reach across and grab his arm, “you feeling okay?”
He doesn’t reply. 10k slowly moves further forward until he is completely leaning on the table, and his head is pressed against his plate. “10K,” you say, shaking his hand. “Tom-”
Murphy cuts you off with a loud laugh, “he’s just had his first sip of alcohol. He’s passed out. Don’t fret.”
For a moment, you thought you were going crazy until the glass slips from Cassandra’s hand, smashing on the ground as she falls forward. Warren reaches for her weapons but falls to the ground.
You lock eyes with Murphy, and he looks just as scared as you.
Brett lets out a frustrated sigh, and pulls out his fun. “Now, what to do with you.”
“Let-”
You stopped talking when he pointed the gun at you. “Drink every drop, or I’ll blow your head off.”
You picked up the glass, your hands trembling as you brought the drugged drink to your lips.
“Mom!” Addy yelled, as she stormed down the stairs. “Tell her to stop stealing my clothes!”
Your mom let out a frustrated sigh as she ran a hand across her growing bump and said, “Addison, stop yelling, and Astra, ask your sister if you can borrow her things.”
You pouted. All Addy had done since her sixteenth birthday was whine and moan. “Whatever, Maggie’s mom is taking us to the cinema soon. I need to finish getting ready.”
Your mom raised her brows, “and where did you get the money for tickets?”
“Dad, he said I could go because I’d done all my chores and finished all my homework.”
Addy yelled from the other room, “Suck up!”
Your mum rolled her eyes. “Okay, fine. But no sneaking into scary movies again.”
The first thing you notice when you wake up is the pain shooting through your arms. Your eyes open, and you see a blur of objects through a window. You are in the boot of a car with your hands tied behind your back, and a gag is pulled tight in your mouth, and you feel your anger growing.
You struggle to sit up, but when you do, anger fills you. Murphy is sitting in the backseat beside Henry. You begin to kick at the chairs and try to scream through the gag.
Murphy slowly turns to face you and shakes his head. You stop kicking and yelling. “Where the hell are you taking me?”
“Just enjoy the ride,” Brett said calmly. “We have food, water, and fuel. You and your friends had no food, no water and were running on fumes.”
“I mean, are these really necessary?” Murphy held up his cuffed hands. “Look, I get it. You heard everything I said, and you figured there might be something in it for you if you get me to California. But why the girl? She’s not special.”
Henry grinned, “We aren’t going to California. And we don’t mind having another pretty face to look at.”
Oh, shit.
You were really screwed and didn’t have a lot of options. You listened in to their conversation and the moment Brett says he left the others for the Z's, you realise you only have one option. You needed to get away from these people by any means necessary.
Eventually, Brett pulled over by the side of a river. When you heard multiple footsteps going in different directions, you thought they were going to leave you in the boot, but Janis opens it and yanks you out roughly. You land on your ass, sending a shooting pain up your back.
“Get up!” She snaps.
You get to your feet and start to struggle, trying to slip yourself from your cuffs, causing them to make a clanging noise.
Brett scoffed at you, “Take the cuffs off. If she tries anything, we shoot her.”
Janis reluctantly pulls out a small key and unlocks it. With your hands free, you pull the gag from your mouth and spit out the material that had stuck to the inside of your mouth.
Henry brushes past you, “Keep up! Or it’s the firing squad.”
You look over at Murphy, who is tilting his head. At first you didn’t understand, but then you noticed the camera. You feel relief flowing through you. Citizen Z would be able to help somehow. He always did.
You were now sandwiched between Murphy and Henry in the backseat of the car.
Murphy does what he does best, which is irritating people. After being openly mocked by Murphy, Brett pulled over to the side of the road. “Six miles from here is a pharmaceutical company. That’s where we are going next.”
“Can we please go to Disneyland next?”
Brett raised his finger at you and said, “he’s not replaceable, you are.”
You step back, as Brett explains their plan. Murphy's job is to walk into the warehouse full of meth zombies to pick up drugs for them. His part seemed clear enough, but yours didn’t. And that’s what scared you most.
You frowned when Janis slowed her pace and walked beside you. “Bet you are wondering why you are here, huh?”
“Yeah, you can imagine the scenarios running through my head.”
She tutted, “When you were inside, I overheard your little boyfriend and the old guy talking about you and how many great adventures you’ve had together.”
Your brows furrowed at her comment. You didn’t understand what she was talking about.
“They said you helped save a guy who was dying during a storm,” she said, sounding skeptical. “The old guy said you were one of the strongest people he knew.”
You give her a weird look and say, “Doesn’t explain why I’m here?”
“Henry is sick. So are others. People will pay good money to have a nurse look over them.”
“I’m not a nurse!” you notice Murphy staring at you. He looks up at the sky, then back down. You nod, understanding what he was thinking of. Citizen Z. “You should really go talk to Murphy. I’m sure he’ll enjoy your company more.”
With a scoff, Janis storms off. When you're sure none of them are watching, you slowly start to undo your belt, and slide it off. You gently place it on the side of the pathway.
When you stop for a break, you excuse yourself by saying you need to pee, so you have a reason to walk away. When you stopped looking for a tree facing the way you just came, you pulled out your knife and carved an ‘A’ into it, before joining the others. Upon hearing a gunshot, you speed up.
“What just happened?”
“Nothing,” Murphy said as Henry snatched the gun from him.
As Brett orders everyone to move along, you spot the blazer Murphy was wearing lying on a log. He was leaving a trail behind, the same as you.
When you reach a small ridge, Brett stops, saying that the place you're looking for is just on the other side. He steps closer to you and looks at you up and down. “You had more clothes on. What happened to them?”
“Oh,” you grabbed at your waist, pretending you didn’t realise you were now only wearing a thin vest top. “I didn’t notice I’d lost my jacket.”
“Or your jumper?” He held your gaze. “Hands behind your back.”
“Seriously? What if a Z comes?”
His jaw twitches in anger. “That’s not my problem, now turn!”
You comply and spin the other way with your hands behind your back. He puts the cuffs on tighter this time, and you groan as you feel the fabric tighten around your mouth.
“Go sit over there, and don’t move,” he orders.
You should go sit under the tree he pointed out. He’s fucking crazy. Janis gives you a sympathetic look before tying your feet together with rope. You were completely helpless.
As a scuffle breaks out between Murphy and the rest of the kidnappers. You tried to kick your legs apart, but it caused you to lose balance and roll down the slope. You cried out as you hit the bottom, and when you looked back, Murphy and the others were gone.
Hearing voices nearby, you stopped struggling against your restraints and listened.
“Mess pharmaceuticals.”
It was Doc. You tried your best to scream, but they couldn’t hear you. Fuck it. You managed to spin round and face the fence. You kicked at it hard, causing it to vibrate and make a loud noise. Luckily, a loud alarm distracted the Z's.
“What the hell is that?” You stopped kicking when you heard Warren’s voice.
“I’m down here!” You tried to scream out before kicking the fence again.
You could hear clatter from the radio, followed by muffled voices. You let out a muffled sob, knowing it would take a miracle for them to find you. Frustrated, you take all your anger out on the fence.
“10K, I’ve found her!” You can hear Warren yelling. “You get her, and we’ll get Murphy.”
Seconds later, the gag was pulled from your mouth. Tears spilled from your eyes as relief washed over you. 10K cut the rope, freeing your legs, then helping you to your feet.
He ran his fingers over your arms lightly, taking in the small cuts and forming bruises, “are you-”
You cut him off by pressing your lips against his. The kiss was soft, 10Ks' hands lifting to your face to hold you in place. You pulled back and let out a frustrated groan.
10K looked at you worried.
“I need to find the damn keys for these.”
He raised his brows, as if he’d forgotten your hands were cuffed. 10K put his arm around you as you walked towards the warehouse.
When you got inside, you went into a room filled with large boxes of drugs. 10K spotted the others and led you towards them, with his gun in one and the other on your back.
When you approached them, you noticed what they were all staring at. Murphy. Brett was standing beside him, holding a gun under his chin. “You are a weak man, Brett. You were going to kill me and everyone else and do God knows what with the girl.”
Brett’s voice shook as he spoke, “it’s the apocalypse.”
“The apocalypse is better off without you,” Murphy shook his head and walked away.
Seconds later, Brett pulled the trigger.
Everyone was stunned. Murphy had somehow made Brett kill himself.
You broke the silence, “can we please start looking for the keys to the cuffs?”
You woke up to the feeling of warmth against you. 10K had placed his jacket over your bare arms and was now snoozing softly behind you as your head lay on his chest.
Cassandra was sleeping as well. Your eyes trailed to her bandaged leg that had blood stains on it. It worries you that her wound still hasn’t healed. Murphy was sleeping as well, with his head resting against his jacket.
10K must have felt you move because his arm was wrapped around you tighter.
You relaxed into him until you heard your name, then you instantly stiffened.
“She must be going through something pretty bad, Doc. I would have bet my life on Addy leaving that place,” Warren said quietly. “Astra is holding it together a lot better than I thought she would.”
“Hard enough to think she’d leave Mack, but the kid back there?” He tutted. “We are dropping like flies.”
“Well, we'll have to stick together in the future,” she said after a brief pause. “Hammond, Garnett, Addy, Mack. Getting that bonehead to California is the only way to make our losses mean something.”
As your brain processed what she said, you blinked away tears. She was right. Getting to California was the only thing that mattered now. It was the only way to honour all those you’d lost during the mission.

Mario Kart
Summary - Y/N decides to engage her brothers and Castiel into Mario Kart, not realizing what she was getting herself into.
Pairings - Dean Winchester x Sister!Reader, Sam Winchester x Sister!Reader, Jack Kline x Platonic!Winchester!Reader, Castiel x Winchester!Reader
Word Count - 1,911 words
"Let's get it!" Y/N squeals, claiming her spot on the middle of the couch. She was practically bouncing up and down, waiting impatiently for everyone to join her. The Dean Cave had brightened considerably since she had added a few redecorations. While Dean initially denied her, she had forced him to allow her to put up LED lights, several polaroids from her camera(they were mostly of herself smiling widely at the camera while Sam and Dean looked mildly annoyed with fake smiles. There was also a real funny one where Sam was unconscious on a hunt and Y/N decided to pose beside him), as well as posters from their favorite bands. Not to mention the added dock to the TV stand to hold her Nintendo Switch that Sam had bought her for her previous birthday.
She supposed he regretted it now, since she was forcing him to play a game he'd never even heard of.
He entered the room first, holding a big bowl of popcorn and a soda. Dean followed close behind, Little Debbie packages hanging from his mouth since his arms were occupied with pillows from their bedrooms and a pack of beers for himself. Jack was the only one to come empty handed. He happily took the spot beside Y/N, waving merrily as Castiel also appeared with two sodas(both of them for Beth because he was just so considerate), taking the spot on her other side.
"I'll give this an hour before we switch to movie night, Y/N," Dean warned as he occupied his armchair, which was to the left of the couch. She had discovered this old thing at a garage sale. It had been a rather stressful day because Dean had refused to strap it to Baby and they had to hound what little friends they had for a truck. Since most of their friends were dead, Y/N had hot wired one outside of a bar and returned it before the drunk redneck inside could notice it had even left. She was sure the dent in the bed was there before they put the couch on it. Sam had not been happy about that.
Sam took his own armchair, which was to the right of the couch.
"What is it, again?" he asked curiously.
"Is the only thing in the media you've ever heard Facebook? You've seriously never heard of Mario Kart?" Y/N asked, happily accepting one of the sodas from Castiel. "Dad really did a number on us. I was introduced to this through Charlie." She got up to grab the number of controllers necessary for four. Jack was eager to try the game, but he was always open to trying new things, something Y/N could appreciate.
After connecting them to the Switch, she handed them out to her brothers along with Jack before returning to her spot on the couch between the angel and nephilim.
"If I remember correctly from what you've told me, it's a racing game, right?" Castiel asked.
"Exactly, except with a few quirks to make it interesting. Like, um...I could throw a shell and hit one of them and vice versa. Or a banana peel. I'll give them a trial run before we actually get into it. Are you sure you don't want to try it, Cas?"
Castiel shook his head. "I have seen how you play with Charlie, and I don't want to be on the receiving end of your anger. And I rather like watching you in your element."
Y/N smiled, blushing, before playfully pushing him.
"I need to get drunk to stomach this," Dean said, offended as he popped one of the beers open and took a gulp. "Keep the PDA to a minimum guys, you've got a kid next to you. Alright, what buttons do I push to hit Sam?"
"What the hell?" Sam scoffed.
"What?"
"We haven't even started and you're gunnin' for me?"
"Uh, yeah!"
"Alright, alright! First we gotta pick our player," Y/N mediated, pressing the buttons to get them to the screen full of Mario players. "I already got mine." She moved her icon until it landed on Wendy, before selecting her. "Obviously the best character, hands down."
The three boys maneuvered their icons over different characters, for some reason taking it a little too seriously on who they would choose. Sam selected his first.
"Luigi?" Dean scoffed.
"You got a problem?" Sam asked.
"No, but...why Luigi?"
"Who cares, I just chose him."
"You have to have a reason, man." Dean shook his head, before selecting his own.
"Why'd you choose Bowser, then?"
"Because he's a badass. And he'd beat the holy hell out of Luigi if the games lost their PG rating," Dean shrugged.
Jack hummed thoughtfully, still scrolling. "I choose him!"
He selected Toad.
"Why him, Jack?" she asked.
"I like his hat."
Y/N snorted, but it was a valid enough answer. Once everyone was ready, she selected the settings for the game and then decided to use the time to explain to them how the controls worked and anything else they were curious about. After a few trial races, they were ready for the real thing. Castiel was sitting patiently, his hands on his lap.
"You assholes are going down," Dean declared, bringing his remote closer to him.
"So much for being appropriate in front of the kid," Y/N sneered, but she was just as ready.
She set the game to go through ten races with a random select for the roads.
And with that, they were off.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" Dean yelled, nearly jumping to his feet. His first empty beer bottle slide across the floor from his rapid movement. "I DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH IT! I DIDN'T GO NEAR THE GODDAMN PEEL!"
"That might've been mine," Sam stated, smugly. "But Bowser also takes up half the road, so avoiding it was probably impossible anyway."
Dean squinted. "You callin' me fat, Sammy?"
Sam shrugged. "Luigi's doing just fine."
Y/N hid her smile as she hit her own item, snatching that smile right from Sam's face.
"Why did you do that?" he asked, incredulous, the red shell sending Luigi off the edge of the map.
"You got in my way!" Y/N sang.
It only seemed to get worse from there. What was supposed to be an hour of playing turned into four with the bowl of popcorn thrown across the room at Dean when he had decided to hit Sam three times with three separate shells before snagging first place and doing a lewd dance as a way to declare his victory. Y/N's hair had bristled up, becoming bushier almost as though it were alive. Her right eye was twitching, and her hands were cramping by now.
Jack, however, was having a good time. He has gotten last place the entire time, but he was still having fun, and that's what truly mattered.
Castiel, on the other hand, seemed to be on the verge of a panic attack, not knowing whose side he should take because all three Winchester siblings were completely out of their minds, including Y/N.
Finally, it was the last race. Everyone's nerves were shot. Sam's hair seemed even more raggedy than Y/N's, and his shirt was stained with soda because Dean decided to take vengeance by chucking his pillow at him when Sam was taking a big gulp. They had to pause the game for several minutes while Sam fought for his life coughing and wheezing because the soda went down the wrong pipe.
"I'm afraid I must at least attempt to deter you guys from participating in another race. There aren't any weapons in the Dean Cave, but I'm sure you three will find a way to kill each other," Castiel said, worried. "Jack, are you okay?"
Jack nodded enthusiastically. "I'm having fun!"
"I will let it be known if I lose, someone is dying tonight. I will call Billie to fix it, but someone has to die tonight if I lose," Y/N threatened.
"Good luck with that, I'm kicking all of your asses, and you can kiss mine when it crosses the finish line," Dean said.
"I don't even care if I win, as long as you guys lose. And I'll make sure it happens." Sam jeered.
With that, the race began. Aside from Jack and Castiel, everyone was bloodthirsty. Surely no matter who won, someone was gonna be pissed off. Castiel was making a mental note to grab Jack as soon as possible and escort him out of the room while the siblings brawled.
"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Y/N shouted, jumping to her feet. "WHO DID IT! WHO DID IT?"
"I did!" Sam happily announced, moving to and fro with the turn of his controller, as though he were in the game himself.
"I'm gonna get you, Sam," Y/N snarled, pressing hard on the buttons, trying her best to catch up to her brother, collecting any items she came across, but none of them were good enough, so she kept using them without thinking until she heard Dean curse and also jump to his feet.
"THAT WAS ME, JACKASS!" he yelled, completely distraught. "I didn't even do anything this time!"
"You probably deserved it anyway!" Sam shrugged, continuing to maneuver through the AIs to get to the front.
By that time, Dean and Y/N had caught up, and with all they had, they used their items to completely screw each other over up until every kart had passed them. In the end, they were the bottom three with Sam first, Y/N second, and Dean in dead last. And for a moment there after, nobody said anything. They were completely beside themselves in utter shock at what just occurred.
"What just happened?" Y/N asked, deflating considerably.
"We lost..." Sam mumbled.
"Screw you guys, I lost overall!" Dean scoffed.
"I won!" Jack suddenly cheered, leaping to his feet and jumping up and down. "I won!"
"You what?" Y/N asked, shocked as her eyes trailed to the top. Sure enough, Toad was in first place. "You're kidding!"
"I can't believe I won!" Jack said, smiling as he high-fived a proud Castiel.
"I want a rematch," Dean commanded, sitting back down and retrieving his controller.
"Yeah, me, too!" Sam agreed.
"I'm down!" Y/N eagerly agreed, about to grab hers when Castiel snatched it. He went around the room, taking up all the controllers.
"Given that it's five in the morning, and just a couple moments ago you three were ready to quite literally rip each other's throats out, I'm going to recommend everyone get up and get to bed instead," he instructed curtly. "I think we should postpone a future night of games indefinitely, at least for a little while until you three can learn to control yourselves."
"What-but-you can't-" Y/N sputtered.
"Quite literally, I can shut off whatever is necessary so you can never play the game again with just a snap of my fingers," Castiel warned. "Shower and get some sleep. Jody already told us she needed to discuss something at noon tomorrow, and it would be rude if we were tardy. C'mon, let's go!"
With a grumble, everyone got up and cleaned their mess, ignoring each other vehemently as they walked out. Except for Jack; he was practically skipping.
There was another good thing about tonight that he knew about. He was the one that triggered the lightning item that really stumped the three siblings and put them at the bottom three.

Hey. Thanks for answering my last ask. I did like Tom/Lily back at my day (lol as if I'm that old) but to be fair...any ship with Lily is better than Jilly.
One question. What you think of Hinny and Luna x Ginny? Cause nit gone lie I think Luna x Ginny has more potential than Hinny. But maybe is because I love the trope "pop falls for unpop"
... I’m not sure I’m supposed to feel as insulted as I do that I apparently barely cleared the very low bar that is Jily.
Moving on.
I’ve given most of my thoughts on Ginny and shipping here.
Harry/Ginny
To sum up for what you’re asking though, I think Harry/Ginny is a complete disaster. Oh, Harry’s the only one she has eyes for but... it is not a good relationship.
Both of them are attracted to the idea of one another and barely seem to know who the other is.
In the case of Ginny, she tries to be someone who she thinks Harry will be attracted to. She takes note of what failed with his relationship with Cho and goes out of her way not to be that. All of her actions in the sixth book are geared towards desperately getting Harry’s attention. More, she projected this heroic persona onto Harry Potter that she never seems to see anything beneath it.
Harry for his own part... likes Ginny’s skin? His attraction to her in Halfblood Prince is one of the weirdest things I have ever read. He seems to lust after her, sort of, we get this green rage monster that throws a fit every time he sees Dean Thomas with Ginny. However, he really doesn’t know much about her and proceeds to barely spend any time with her even when they start dating. That he leaves her in Deathly Hallows is very telling, and very chilling to me. Not only is Ginny not a part of “the gang” and not invited to their club house, Harry is effectively leaving her to be taken hostage by Voldemort. This doesn’t bother him, at all, but then nothing really does.
I also think Harry’s gay (he spends a lot more time drooling after attractive men in canon then he does attractive women), he just doesn’t know it.
So, I think his and Ginny’s marriage is likely a disaster. Ginny has affairs all the time as nothing works out the way she thought it would but is too in love with the fame, the money, and the dream of being Harry Potter’s wife to ever leave. Harry’s utterly oblivious to his wife cheating on him and has to have it pointed out by James Sirius. Harry doesn’t believe him.
I’ll put it like this, their marriage is worse than Ron and Hermione’s. And that, my friend, is a low bar.
A Tangent: Ginny’s Not Popular
I’m actually going to argue that Ginny’s not at all popular. In fact, I imagine she’s actually severely disliked. Harry’s just too oblivious to notice.
So, first, Ginny is the youngest sister of the Weasley family. We see the hit this has on Ron, who has a massive inferiority complex, but we don’t see what it means to Ginny. What we can assume though, is that she’s known, and that the instant she walks into school she has a reputation that’s not necessarily good.
Percy, her brother, is that smarmy asshole prefect.
Fred and George are those assholes who constantly prank everyone. Some think this is hilarious, usually when they’re not the victims, others aren’t too keen on this.
Ron’s that guy who’s constantly getting into trouble with Harry Potter, is a known dumbass who doesn’t even have a working wand in his second year (wizards are elitist like this), and earns hundreds of house points at the end of the year for committing arson.
All of this will feed into how people perceive Ginny before even meeting her. For better or for worse, she is a Weasley, and that means people will see her a certain way.
And then Ginny has the worst first year imaginable.
She isolates herself and pours her heart and soul into a diary. Every second she’s spending talking to Tom Riddle is a second she’s not making friends. More, Ginny’s behavior becomes more and more erratic as Tom Riddle begins to possess her. She starts missing classes, acting strangely, etc.
And I think it’s damning that no one noticed.
No one is watching Ginny, no one is even around her, so if she disappears for a few hours and wakes up covered in blood in the bathroom, nobody knows. Had Tom not written a message informing the entire school that Ginny had been kidnapped, no one would have noticed, Ginny would have died down there in the chamber and it would have been days until someone, maybe, put it together.
Ginny in her first year has no friends.
And then it’s too late.
We see with Harry that people in Hogwarts form friendships fast and they rarely change. You get your clique in you first few weeks of Hogwarts, and if you’re unlucky like Hermione then it takes a few months and a troll nearly killing you to find your group, and then you stick with that group.
Ginny comes back second year, everyone already has their best friends, there’s no room for her. She tries to integrate into a group, they just give her weird looks, and more remember her as that sickly lunatic.
Because remember, that she was possessed is not known beyond a few people. It’s never publicized, and most probably think Harry or Hagrid was behind the Chamber of Secrets Fiasco II: Electric Boogaloo.
So, you get a bunch of kids who don’t want to hang out with Ginny. And, Hogwarts houses are so insular, that Ginny can’t really go and hang out with anyone else.
For all that Ginny joins the quidditch team, for all she joins the DA, I don’t think she ever really has friends. She’s just the youngest and weirdest Weasley.
And then comes her fifth year.
Ginny decides she’s going to date every guy in Hogwarts to get Harry’s attention. Now, good or bad, this is going to get Ginny a reputation, a very negative one. To the male Hogwarts population: Ginny’s an easy lay. To the female Hogwarts population: Ginny’s that bitch who will steal your boyfriend.
Halfblood Prince will not make Ginny any friends.
Ginny/Luna
It has more potential than Harry/Ginny but I personally don’t think it’s going to happen.
Like everyone else, Ginny looks down on Luna, which is a bit hilarious as per the above I don’t think Ginny’s rolling in popularity either. Luna’s weirdness is tolerated at best in a sort of, “Oh, look how cute and nuts she is, let’s pat Luna on the head.”
More, as I explained in the Ginny shipping meta linked, Ginny only has eyes for Harry and I think it would take a lot for her to look in any other direction. And to go for Looney Lovegood instead?
Part of Harry’s appeal is that he’s Wizarding Jesus, he’s important, wonderful, charming, a prince in Ginny’s eyes. Luna’s that batty girl who lives down the street and has radishes in her ears.
I just don’t see Ginny ever going for it.
As for Luna, she’s hard to get a read on, but I believe she’s fully aware of what different people think of her. She’s a very kind and generous person who overlooks this for her friends, but in a romantic partner... I think Luna is waiting for someone who truly understands her or if not that then at least truly likes her.
I don’t think that will ever be Ginny.

here is part two of this.
[7:13 pm] for all the phases you have been through in the past few months, all of them were disastrous. a couple of months after jeno has told you about his proposal karina and he appears with new rings, explaining to everyone how both just choose to make things more swiftly and not wait until graduation.
you already knew it but that didn't stop you from spending at least twenty minutes crying pathetically in the ladies' room.
certainly when you thought things couldn't get any worse, believe me, they did. you were convinced for the moment karina asked you to help her choose the dress. again, you couldn't blame anyone against yourself.
renjun and donghyuck stood next to you, holding their laughs as she was asking for help in the most loving way. just for when she was gone the duo were shouting loud and attempting to comfort your poor heart. following that, you saw yourself sat there watching karina trying on more than a thousand wedding dresses, for getting married to the love of your life.
it would be easier to hate her if she was a bitch and 20% less attractive. you thought.
and talking about him, you couldn't even hold his gaze without looking weepy and bitter. your friendship existed only by devices, which you believed would be turned off the moment he said yes to her.
after a year of planning and torture, the big day has arrived and even though you have created every possible excuse, none seemed good enough to not going to your best friend's wedding. including a sweet smile, your mom comforted you as you got ready for the wedding, holding up tears and making yourself at least looking attractive on the worst day of your life. you asked more than once for your mother to be merciful and to fake an accident but she keeps telling you how could you get over it if you didn't see "the dead body".
instructed to stay at least a few minutes late, you made everything possible to be delayed. not wanting to arrive and have to deal with the reception and face the bride and groom. not craving to deal with the fact that if you held more than five seconds alone with jeno, you would presumably tell him the truth that was stuck in your throat. then when you arrive everyone was already at the ceremony, your entry causing a small noise that drew attention. jeno's eyes catching yours immediately.
the couple looking supremely beautiful, like always. the dress that karina and you have picked just not fits her but makes everyone around her look poorly ugly. oh my god, i hate myself so much. that was the only thing going through your mind.
sitting down next to renjun, he sends you a glance. "it's almost ended, i thought you were not coming."
"as if i were that lucky"
he chuckles but gently takes your hands. even though you said more than a thousand times that you didn't want anyone feeling sorry for you, he tried his best to make things a little better.
while the minutes started to grow, your mind stopped a few more every time that ceremony got close for the "yes". holding up every tear you possess in your body, you almost failed as the old lady next to you smile in your direction and whispered;
"what are you from the groom??"
"i... i am his best friend, since freshman year at college."
"oh, that's why he is looking right here all the time."
quietly you agreed with her, not even daring yourself to look up and catch all of his stares. the moments pass with you staring to anywhere, you couldn't even look at them without feeling your chest squeeze in sharp pain.
"so lee jeno, do you take this woman as your wife to lover her, respect her, and looking for her?"
wishing to not stand there or even existed, you were close to starting to crying but renjun squeezed your hands and all that people heard at next was; "yes, i do."
lee jeno, the love of your life just got married... but it's was not whit you.
later on, — this including the time you spent crying and sobbing in the car — you were supposed to go to the celebration and that's is what you did as a supportive friend.
the first hour was going like a blink, you have to pretend so much happiness that the idea of the newlyweds just got blanked out of your mind. it was the last straw when jeno's sister approached you with a gentle smile, you could feel her pity just by the look on her face and you felt even more miserable when she said it in a low tone: ''i always thought that on a day like today, you would be my new sister.''
that hurt so much.
the rest of the night passed like a blur, a slow and painful blur. you had taken so many pictures and you were sure that you looked ridiculous in the picture with the bride and groom, donghyuck and renjun were there to support you but your false happiness was quickly destroyed by jeno's stares.
almost at the end of the celebration, everyone full of the food and tired from the dancing, people decided it was time for the speeches and in the crowd of invited people you hid behind your friends. if by any chance the universe hated you that much you would be chosen to give some words and you were ready to make a whole speech based on rose's in "love, rosie". it would be tragic.
karina's mother said beautiful words to the couple and praised jeno so much that you at that moment felt happy for him. many relatives passed by, all of them talking about how perfect they were for each other and at end wishing them happiness. you felt like a jealousy bitch at every second.
almost at the end of all your torture, you already agreed that renjun or one of his friends would take you home because you didn't even want to talk, it was the newlyweds' turn to speak. karina sounded so perfectly in love with every word she spoke out. you were thankful to be far away from the couple because your stomach flipped as you watched jeno stand up, straightening his suit and black hair.
you were about to get up and walk away, not wanting to hear about how much he loved her and was grateful to be married to her but after a second thought, you knew you would draw pitying and pitiful glances in your direction.
"i can give you more than a thousand and one reasons about how i ended up here, married to karina." his soft voice echoing throughout the room. "one of them is because sometimes... we don't notice that what we need is right under our noses. sometimes we even notice... but only a few people dare themselves to confess their love to that person.'' at that point nobody else understood where he was getting at with that speech. just like all evening, you didn't attempt to look at him and be unlucky enough to find him also watching you.
''one more reason why we are here, on this particular night, is that maybe i took too long to realize, waited for too long. i wish i could confess this earlier because... deep down i always knew it was you. the love of my life and my best friend.''
something inside of you clicked. back when you started to date, jeno looked you up one day and you fought, he was just being jealous that your then-boyfriend also claimed to be your best friend and you didn't say anything, the point is that he would never call karina his best friend. on that day, both promise never forgets about their besties and never, never calling anyone ''best friend''.
nobody knew about that.
"if... if i could only go back in time... maybe i would tell myself how i should confess to you.'' you looked up, getting his gaze. you stood surprised when you noticed that his eyes were tearing up. ''if only i had known that we would be here today. i never would have let your lips leave mine years ago, on new years'. i never should have walked away. i never should have panicked. i never should have lost all those years without you... because i've realized that no matter where you are or what you're doing, or who you're with, i will always honestly, truly, completely love you.''
you couldn't believe in your damn bad luck.
you couldn't discover what was more pathetically tragic. the fact that karina would watch the video of her wedding in the future and see her husband confessing his love to someone who wasn't her. or the fact that jeno had chosen his wedding day to acknowledge that he loved you.
karina never kissed him on new year's, their first one was in a cinema. only you did, once in your second year as friends. you two never spoke about it.
karina didn't like romantic comedies, she was a literature major and only liked movies that was focussed on classics. you did. you had made jeno watch "love, rosie" so many times that you both knew the script.
with tears rolling down their cheeks, the two of you stared at each other for what seemed like hours. he loved you too. you both now knew about the other's love. inaudibly while you wiped your tears you both agreed that; maybe in another time, another life, we were meant for a happy ending. but not here, not at this moment.
but it didn't matter, only you two knew how much you loved each other and always would.
