Alright everyone, buckle up and sit down. I was talking with @nerdasaurus1200 on another post and came to the conclusion that I need to write Sera meta so let's freaking GO
Tumblr media
I'm mostly gonna be talking about Sera, what we know about her so far, and what makes her tick (aka her fears) and why she's not a bitch/asshole the way apparently so many people like to portray her? (I've mostly just been hanging out with fan art and headcanons specifically about Lucifer in the fandom so I haven't seen these specifically, but someone approached me about how they liked m portrayal of Sera in my fic which was NOT that of an asshole and apparently multiple people are portraying her that way? Idk I haven't seen any but uh yeah let's talk SERA)
Characters are always the most important part of a story, and even if they're not a main character and/or the audience nor the writer know what they want/need, the writer at the very least needs to know How and Why a character makes decisions, instead of just "oh they're an asshole" So let's do that for Sera. Why is she making the decisions she's making? LETS GO
Let's start off by talking about what we know about Sera
She's at least as old as Lucifer, she was there for the creation of earth given the appearance of her silhouette in Charlie's exposition
Tumblr media
We know that the exterminations might have been Adam's idea, but it was HER decision to approve them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know that she's FOR SURE older than Emily
Tumblr media
and the other thing we know for sure about her is that she is the High Seraphim (we don't know WHAT that means exactly but clearly it is a position of authority and rule)
Tumblr media
So those are the things we know for sure:
She's about as old as Lucifer
She approved the exterminations
She's older than Emily
and she's the high Seraphim
Now I'm going to circle back to all of these points but I want to start off with her relationship with Lucifer
Unfortunately for all of us, the only thing we can say about their relationship with 100% certainty is that they for SURE know each other, either because they were essentially "coworkers" in the past, or because they're both the respective rulers of their realms (even if Sera has some people above her) and they're implied to interact with each other
(at the very least you cannot convince me otherwise that they don't interact. Someone had to have talked to Lucifer about the exterminations for him to have had "approved it" and we know it wasn't Adam because Lucifer hadn't seen Adam since he fell to hell until the finale, and we know that Sera was not only the one to approve said exterminations but also decreed that no one else in heaven know about them. She clearly must have spoken to Lucifer about it because there's nobody else left who had the authority to do that AND knew about them)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So at the very least in present day Sera and Lucifer have some sort of professional relationship as leaders. And I'll come back to this because it's implied that this relationship isn't a very good one, but first let's talk about the past
full stop, we have NO IDEA what sort of relationship Sera and Lucifer might have had when he was still in heaven. But here's the thing, even if their relation was strictly "yeah I know them cuz I work with them, but that's as far as it goes" Lucifer's fall STILL would have been horrifying for Sera to witness. He was the same rank as her, probably no other angel except the elders likely ranked higher, and they still banished him. Charlie's storybook leaves it at that, but Lucifer implies it was violent in his debut episode.
Tumblr media
trauma is a funny thing when you think about it, you're just as likely to develop trauma by watching someone else be assaulted as you are for you to have been assaulted. And Sera was there, she likely saw the whole thing happen. So not only did Sera watch how brutal the elders could be to someone who questioned and disobeyed the order, but the fact that it was done to LUCIFER someone of equal rank and authority as her means that absolutely NOBODY is safe from the elders
and this is without taking into account that on some level, she and Lucifer had to have been close. There are no other seraphim in heaven besides her, the elders (who appear to be rather hands off and uninvolved) and Emily. Emily was likely created as a replacement for Lucifer, so at the time, it was basically just her and Lucifer as the only seraphim up there. They not only worked closely together, they likely had a close bond as well. Now I have my own head canon preferences as to what kind of bond, BUT let's ignore that and look at 3 options (although there are likely more, but huuu this post is gonna be long already so let's not push it yeah? )
option 1: equal peers. You are Sera and you've known Lucifer all your life. You two have "grown up" together, learned about the world and your powers together. You're comrades in arms! You know all of each other's secrets! You lean on each other for support as you lead heaven together. You work together all the time. Sure, he can be a little excitable at times but it's so much FUN right? This guy could be your bestie/brother. And you sit back and watch as the only ones with more authority than you, skewer him and banish him to hell for having questioned the order and now there's a metaphorical spear against your back at all times because you know it could have been you instead, and it could still be you if you don't behave
Option 2: Lucifer is your mentor. He's taught you everything you know. The ropes, your powers, the world. He's fantastic! You admire him greatly. He has such energy you could never hope to match. You put him on a pedestal, and in one fell swoop the only people he answers to destroy your mentor in front of you. You are now alone, without any more advice or guidance other than a warning to not step out of line as your mentor once did
Option 3: Lucifer is your apprentice. He's adorable! A little over enthusiastic but who doesn't love someone who's passionate about the things they like? He brings a wonderful energy and vibe, and... he's your responsibility. You try to reign in his wild energy only for the elders to step in and banish him because you failed him and now you know that the elders could do that to you too
So, I'll be honest, option 3 is NOT the one I'm biased towards, but if it ends up being that one, it would make Sera's behavior towards Emily extra heartbreaking. She already failed one apprentice, she will not fail another one, right?
Either way, Sera is terrified of going against the elders because of what they did to Lucifer in spite of his rank. She knows first hand how harsh they can be and because of that, she will do everything in her power to make sure nobody around her falls into the same fate. No one will ever question the elders again, and she will lie and withhold information to make sure that happens
And we're just talking about the INITIAL banishment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now why would Sera bring this up, unless what she was most afraid of wasn't even the initial banishment, but of the suffering she clearly knows comes afterwards? And why would she care or even know about the suffering? Well, if it's true that she and Lucifer were close, then regardless if she was spying on him or not the way we know heaven can do, she still watched a cute enthusiastic little angel go from this:
Tumblr media
to this
Tumblr media
all because because he suffered.
She watched him question, get banished, suffer, and change into someone she didn't recognize, in real time. And the worst part is, she's not only scared of what happened TO him, she's personally scared OF him and what he's become. He might be fallen, but he's still a powerful angel
And this segways into another bullet: she approved the exterminations, but WHY
Charlie's intro implies it was as some sort of punishment towards Lilith who was rallying the demons and they felt threatened
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But clearly there's more to this
So first thing I'd like to point out, Sera doesn't look happy about this decision. She mentions as much in the song "You didn't Know" when she outright tells Emily "It was such a hard decision" and earlier in the same episode she outright tells Adam she wouldn't have approved of this if she had known it'd make things "worse"
But this is incomplete. Something doesn't make sense. Sera clearly meets with Lucifer for certain matters as previously established, and Lucifer, in spite of his initial trauma "NO CHARLIE DO NOT TALK TO HEAVEN" knee jerk reaction, never doubted that he COULD in fact get her a meeting with heaven. He outright tells her at the end of episode 5
Tumblr media
He never says, "I'll try to get the meeting". He says straight up, I can do this. There isn't a doubt in his mind that he can get this meeting. He knows Sera will meet with him/take his call (idk how he contacts heaven) and will agree to the meeting. We don't really know WHY Sera agreed to this if she thought it was a bad idea and never really intended to entertain the idea to begin with, going as far as to tell Adam to rig the results and calling Charlie misguided. So what's up? Why on earth would she agree to it? Well...?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sera is scared of the demons of hell, hence why she approved the exterminations, but she's even MORE scared of Lucifer and folded to his request. (or idk maybe there's more going on here and she feels guilt about what happened to him so she folds to him sometimes idk, but for the sake of this meta, SHE'S SCARED OF HIM)
but here's what's kinda weird. Charlie's storybook only mentions LILITH'S involvement with the demons rising in power, not Lucifer. Sera later claims that they were uprising to Emily as the reason she's scared of them and that it's her job to keep everyone safe.
Tumblr media
Clearly SOMETHING happened between the creation of Hell and the exterminations being approved that involved BOTH the sinners AND Lucifer that made Sera scared of both. Sera doesn't seem the type to fear without reason. She fears questioning the order because that incurs the elders' wrath. She fears the elders because of what they did to Lucifer. She fears angels falling because she saw how much it hurt Lucifer. Sera is not the type to fear randomly. Clearly there is some sort of thing that happened that made it clear to Sera that Lucifer is to be feared enough to fold to his requests and that the sinners are dangerous enough that it justifies genocide.
And now to bring back the whole Sera is older than Emily. Emily didn't know this otherwise Sera wouldn't have needed to tell her. AKA Emily wasn't even around when said conflict happened. Sera not only had to go through something that clearly traumatized her to the point where she agreed that genocide was a reasonable response, but she had to go through that ALONE. Trauma is hard enough to deal with, but to have to navigate it alone really gives it some steroids it has no business in having
This genuinely makes me wonder how long the exterminations have to have been taking place. It probably took a WHILE for hell to gather up enough numbers that they started making buildings by the look of Charlie's storybook, AND THEN did something against heaven, so this was not happening from day one of hell, far from it. And this also makes me wonder how old exactly is Emily? She strikes me as extremely young
season 2 come out please, I'm working from CRUMBS here, there is so much we don't know
But yeah, all of this to say, Sera isn't just some alpha bitch who's prejudiced against demons (not to say there isn't bias there, there ABSOLUTELY is, ugh) but at her core, she's a leader who underwent a lot of trauma and she's full of fear and she makes decisions, rational, moral or not, based off of that fear. And yeah unfortunately, fear, especially trauma based fear, messes with us in ways we never would expect
a kind man may suddenly resort to violence. The confident argumentative person, may instead end up frozen. Someone who thought they valued their family all their life instead runs away. We may regret what we do in moments in fear, we might even logically know that we're making bad decisions, or decisions that go against our morals. Sera CLEARLY hates that she made the decision to approve extermination, but she holds onto it steadfast because it alleviates the fear
Tumblr media
Funnily enough, I don't particularly LIKE Sera. I dislike her microaggressions towards Charlie and her attempts to sabotage her efforts at the meeting by calling upon Adam. But as a writer, looking at the clues I got to say she's a very interesting character to me. She seems like a reasonable authority figure, but she's so full of trauma that she's letting her fear make all of her decisions for her

Masterlist
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Wanda Maximoff x fem!reader
Summary: Natasha and Wanda came to Westview for a fresh start, but meeting someone new brings back old habits.
Warnings: 18+ ONLY, dark!fic, magical mental manipulation (courtesy of Wanda), a bit of forced submission, implied masturbation and sex toy mention, other insinuated things (no questions please 🤠), kidnapping and blood mention, WandaVision AU that completely disregards Endgame to give WandaNat a real happy ending
A/N: it’s been literal months since the last time I posted anything, but I was determined to at least get this first part out eventually even if I only had 3 followers left. no idea what I’m doing going forward because so much has changed with me that I’m not even sure what I want to write, I just know I want to. anyway here’s the ask that inspired this
-
“Where are you headed, love?”
Wanda stops with her hand on the doorknob, the other gripping the handle of a can of paint with a brush resting on top. She carefully turns so as not to drop the unsecured item and acknowledges her wife from across the room.
“I’m going to fix the paint I chipped, Natalia.”
“You mean you aren’t going to wave your magic wand this time?” Natasha’s eyes are narrowed but her playful smile gives her away. “I never knew you were such a handywoman.”
“As if you’re so surprised about what my hands can do.”
The front door is closed behind Wanda, muffling whatever comeback Natasha was beginning to make, and she makes her way over to the corner of the house that didn’t match the rest. With careful strokes, the damaged area is covered in a brilliant shade of red, glistening in the sun as it begins to dry. She’s just about to head in when she hears a voice she doesn’t recognize followed by her neighbor’s door slamming closed and footsteps. Wandering across the lawn to get a better look, she notices a young woman sitting on the porch wearing shorts that are very similar to her overalls and a loose T-shirt with extra fabric that gets trapped between her stomach and thigh when she bends over to fix her shoe.
“Hey.”
You look up from your seat on the porch and notice a woman with reddish-orange hair studying you with hands slightly stained red resting on the fence. Her eyes glance between you and her hands and she quickly catches on, removing them with an embarrassed chuckle.
“Sorry, I’m an artist…if you count repairing a scuffed wall as art.”
“Let’s see.” You stand and look over at the spot she was working on. “Yeah, I’d pay to see it in a museum.”
Her laugh causes you to grin as you approach her from the other side of the fence, placing your own hands just an inch or two from where hers used to be as you introduce yourself.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Wanda.” She makes a movement to shake your hand and quickly changes her mind when she catches sight of her own again. “I’m not usually this forgetful, dear. Anyway, I was wondering if you were new to the neighborhood. I’ve never seen you here before.”
“Technically, although I don’t live here. My friend just moved in and I thought I’d visit her now that she’s all set.” You lean in just a bit closer and slightly lower your voice. “She wouldn’t even let me take off work until she had every room unpacked and organized. I made a joke that she wanted to set up her sex dungeon first so I wouldn’t accidentally find any of her tools and she didn’t like it very much.”
“She probably shouldn’t come to our house then,” Wanda teases but your brows raise slightly.
“Our?”
“Yes, I live with my wife. Actually, we haven’t met your friend either. Would the two of you like to come over for dinner later? We’d love to welcome her to the neighborhood properly.”
“I think I can talk her into it.” You turn toward the house when you hear your name called through a cracked window and quickly face Wanda again. “I have to go but I’ll–we’ll–see you tonight?”
“Anytime after 7 works for us. I might go a bit overboard but I promise it won’t be anything fancy. You could even wear pajamas if you want,” she offers and you laugh.
“Be careful or I might take you up on that. Okay, see you then!” You disappear into the house again with an enthusiastic wave as Wanda supervises before heading into her own home to share the news with her loving partner.
“So you invited this anonymous new neighbor and her friend over for dinner…tonight?” Natasha repeats and Wanda nods in response. “May I ask why you suddenly want two strangers in our home?”
“One of the strangers is really cute,” Wanda pouts as she grabs Natasha’s hands, allowing herself to be led over to the sink to have the paint washed off her skin.
“Meaning?”
“New pet,” she admits, growing nervous when Natasha freezes mid scrub.
“No.”
“But Nat–”
“Don’t ‘but Nat’ me, Wanda,” the redhead mocks as she continues scrubbing. “I let you try this already and it didn’t work.”
“I think you’ll like her too.”
“I doubt it.”
“But what if she’s really good? Really obedient? I heard you like that.”
“How can you be so sure? I’ve never experienced it.”
“Rude.” Wanda lightly nudges her away with her hip and reaches for the paper towels. “I’m just saying…don’t let one bad apple ruin the bunch or whatever that saying is. Don’t you think it’d be fun to have something new to play with?”
“I’m assuming you’ve already given her a test run then.”
“Not yet.” Wanda returns to Natasha’s side with a paper towel for her hands and drops her head onto her shoulder. “I figured you might want to help me.”
-
You ring the doorbell at exactly 7:01, hoping Sheri will take your subtle but constant movements as nerves and not excitement to see Wanda again. You had no idea what her wife was like or if she’d even like you, then again you barely knew Wanda either. What you were hoping to get out of this gathering was also still a mystery.
“You’re here! Welcome to our home!” Wanda greets you cheerily as she opens the door and you go to respond with the same level of excitement, instead driving an elbow into Sheri’s side when you notice her staring at the older pair.
“Sorry…No one told me I was having dinner with two Avengers.”
“Technically we’re not Avengers anymore,” a woman replies behind Wanda and she steps aside to reveal her wife, you’re assuming. “Natasha, but I’m guessing you knew that already.”
“So why did you leave the team?” Sheri inquires as she follows Natasha to the dining room and Wanda closes the door behind her, and you don’t miss the way she subtly guides you for a second with a gentle hand on your back.
“I don’t know. Something about half the world disappearing for five years really just…”
“...wears you out?” Wanda suggests as she pulls your chair out for you and Natasha shakes her head.
“I was going to say it makes me want to isolate myself from everything and everyone I’ve ever known, but yes, that too.” She takes a seat and begins pouring wine into a glass. “I wanted to go a bit further than New Jersey, but I can’t say I haven’t enjoyed my time here.”
“Do you mind telling me more about this place?” you ask once Wanda is done serving everyone and takes a seat across from you. “If it sounds good, maybe I’ll move too.”
You were partially joking but something about Wanda’s eyes suddenly brightening and even Natasha’s sudden interest in your statement made you want to consider the possibility.
“What would you like to know?”
-
Two hours later, the room is filled with laughter in response to the latest joke passed around the table. Dinner was even more enjoyable than you imagined it could be, the four of you talking nonstop between bites of food. The atmosphere was so energetic that you were genuinely surprised when Sheri yawned and stood up suddenly.
“I just want to say that I’ve had so much fun over here and I’m so glad you were the first neighbors I met. I hope you won’t be mad if I head home now, though.”
“So soon?” you pout and she sighs.
“I know, but I’m exhausted from all the preparation I did before you came. You’re welcome to stay here though, if you both don’t mind,” she adds with a glance at the hosts, and they both grin.
“Of course we don’t mind!” Natasha speaks up before Wanda can, rising to a stance as well. “After all, we did promise her a movie night. Who says that can’t be tonight?”
“We’re also still in the process of convincing her to move,” Wanda adds.
“Okay, well…You know where the spare is but if you forget, my ringer will be on.”
You all exchange goodbyes with Sheri while Natasha walks her out, even making sure she’s inside before returning to the table. Wanda waves off your attempt to help her clear the table in the meantime and Natasha takes a seat next to you.
“So…how about that movie?”
“Sure! I just have to run to the bathroom and then we can start.”
“No, you can wait.” You raise your brows with a laugh that’s cut short when her hand on your thigh stops you from getting up. “If you think I’m joking, you’re wrong. You’ll go when we say so. Got it?”
After a couple seconds you silently nod. She clears her throat and you almost immediately realize what she wants from you.
“Yes, I understand.”
“Good girl.”
A shiver travels down your spine as her fingertips lightly drag across your thigh before she stands, offering the same hand to you which you accept instantly. She leads you into a different room with a couch sitting in front of a projector aimed at the only wall that’s completely empty. Wanda appears a minute later with glasses of water and a blanket that she spreads across your laps once she’s settled. After the projector is set up, each woman scoots closer and rests her head against her hand, elbows pressed into the couch behind you as the movie is played.
You aren’t sure how much time has passed since the movie started, but at some point you notice your bathroom need has become a little more urgent. One of your legs begins to bounce under the blanket and shortly after, Wanda grabs your chin and turns your head toward her, pushing the rim of a glass to your lips.
“Open,” she quietly commands and you obey, reluctantly swallowing the water she carefully pours in. “Good girl.”
The water only touches the halfway mark of the glass now but you feel twice as full. Your attention strays from the movie as your leg bounces even faster now, and you’re practically holding back whimpers with the effort of trying not to piss your pants on the couch. It’s almost to the point where you think that might be your only option when Natasha leans just a bit closer to whisper in your ear.
“Go. You have our permission.”
Wanda throws the blanket aside before you can try to unscramble your thoughts to figure out how to do so yourself, and you follow the path you remember Sheri taking earlier in the night down the hall to the bathroom. You finally sit down and let out a sigh of relief that turns into a gasp when you feel a bit of cum slipping out of you as well. This is a sudden development that you don’t think you have the time or clarity to explore.
Instead, you return to the couch to finish the movie, releasing a very real yawn as the credits roll that prompts the two older women to call it a night. Natasha begins to clean up as Wanda walks you home, that same guiding hand resting on your back the whole way there.
“Thank you so much for coming over tonight, lovely,” she speaks quietly in the still air of the night, a warm smile appearing under the porch light. “Promise to come back soon?”
“Of course,” you answer pretty quickly, surprising yourself. “Although I don’t want to just abandon Sheri. She’s the whole reason I’m here.”
“She’s welcome too, sweet girl. We loved her company as well.” Wanda squeezes your hand and places her palm on your cheek for just a moment, admiring the way you lean into her before she pulls away. “Now get inside and rest for me, please.”
“Okay, I will. Goodnight, Wanda.”
You grab the spare key from its hiding spot and let yourself in, locking the door behind you and watching through one of the front windows as Wanda makes her way back home. Sheri’s loud snores are easily heard over whatever show she fell asleep on, and you carefully close her bedroom door to muffle the sound a bit as you make your way to your room. After changing into something more suitable for bed and grabbing your favorite toy from your suitcase, you turn on your own TV and settle under the covers with thoughts of your temporary neighbors helping you get off.
“You were gone so long I thought you tucked her in for the night,” Natasha greets Wanda as she comes in, and she laughs.
“Not yet, but we’ll get there.” Wanda approaches Natasha slowly and places her hands on her shoulders, taking her time until she can lock their fingers together. “I’ve never known you to be jealous before.”
“Well I did want a bit more time with her but she can’t be rushed. You’re right; she seems very sweet and…obedient.”
“Does that mean we can keep her?” Wanda blinks rapidly with a little pout and cheers when Natasha nods. “You won’t regret it, I promise. We’re going to train her so well.”
“I’m guessing that means you already have a plan to get her to stay.”
-
The next morning, you head into the bathroom to shower and go through your whole routine while replaying last night in your head. You finally resurface once you’re fully dressed, genuinely surprised when Sheri isn’t plating breakfast or waiting with her car keys in hand to go pick something up.
“Sher-bear, you’re the early riser in our duo,” you tease as you head toward her bedroom. “And you’re always hungry in the morning so why aren’t you–”
You cut yourself off with a gasp as you open her door, met with the startling scene of glass covering her twisted bedsheets, knocked in from the broken window. What scares you even more is the couple of spots on the carpet stained with either smeared or drops of blood. You run back to your room and grab your phone to call the police, deciding you’ll feel safer doing so in the presence of two Avengers. You’re banging frantically on their front door in less than a minute, not caring how crazy you look with tears streaming down your cheeks and staining your sleeve as you attempt to wipe them away.
“Sweet girl, what’s going on?” Wanda immediately questions as she pulls you through the doorway, giving a quick look outside before locking the door behind you. “Are you alright? Where’s Sheri?”
“She’s gone,” you begin sobbing at the mention of your best friend’s name.
“What do you mean she’s gone?” Natasha inquires while entering the room, placing her hands on your shoulders as Wanda rubs your back in an attempt to calm you. “What did you see?”
“I think someone broke in and kidnapped her. The window was smashed in and there was blood on the carpet and a few things knocked over too. I was going to call the police but I thought I should come here first in case someone was still there.”
“You did the right thing by coming to us, love.” Natasha walks out of the room for a second and returns with a gun in hand. “I’ll be right back. Don’t let anyone in while I’m gone.”
“Are you sure I shouldn’t come with you?” Wanda offers, though her arm is wrapped around your shoulders now.
“No, I’ll be fine. She needs protection here in case there is still a lingering threat.”
“Be careful.” Wanda locks the door behind her, adjusting her robe as she returns to you and you can’t help glancing once at her partially covered bare chest. “Come on, let’s get you some tea to calm your nerves a bit.”
Natasha hides her weapon until she’s inside Sheri’s home, approaching her bedroom and assessing it for a moment from the doorway before closing it up again. She pulls on a pair of gloves and unlocks the basement door, heading down the stairs and silently approaching the soundproofed room.
Sheri’s head is leaning back against the same wall that the chair she’s in is resting on, her arms and legs tied to it, eyes and ears covered and mouth gagged. Natasha quickly pours a glass of water and watches a pill dissolve into it before approaching Sheri. She carefully removes the gag and forces her jaw open with a gloved hand, using the water to muffle her panicked cries and shushing her when she chokes slightly.
“We’re gonna need you to stay quiet for just a little bit longer if this is going to work.”

{series masterlist} | {next chapter} {previous chapter}
{crossposted to AO3} {join my taglist!} {crossposted to wattpad}
Wolffe x Fem!OC, some Comet x Fem!OC
Check out the amazing art by kaijurave that inspired this chapter and the way I picture Wolffe in this fic from here on out!
Series summary: The 104th battalion’s new medic Rose comes into the scene dazzling everyone, ready for anything life as a battalion medic will ofer to her after having spent much too long secluded in a medical station orbiting Rishi. While she forms close friendships with the troopers, she and commander Wolffe never seem to get along. As arguments between them heat up, Wolffe is challenged to make Rose fall in love with him, a game that by no means will end well for either of them.
Chapter summary: Wolffe and Rose enjoy each other's company during shore leave on Coruscant despite the problems that lurk beneath the surface within the squad.
Warnings/tags: SMUT. 18+, minors DNI. Alcohol and a very brief mention of puking because of it. Also includes some good ole Wolffe fluff because I was just so in the mood for the grumpy man being soft for his lover and also I want to include a carefree filler chapter before inevitable DOOM PiV unprotected sex, please do use protection in real life, clit play, shower sex, rough sex, semi-public sex, light anal play towards the end (fingering, mentions of anal sex), dirty talk and the most minimum of hints of degradation if you squint, language, banter. Please let me know if I forgot to tag something!
Word count: 6.2k
Note: Writer's block hit me just as I wanted to start writing this chapter. I've kissed my posting schedule goodbye since it didn't work for me, I'm pretty sure that the pressure I was putting on myself caused the writer's block, so now that I'm feeling better I'm confident that I can update more frequently.

It had been months since last anyone had heard from the spy.
It didn’t make sense. Balmorra was supposed to be an easy mission, and it had fully gone to hell because of that one mystery person.
Security recordings hadn’t helped the wolf pack get much intel. The spy had known what they were doing, and they’d covered up any possible feature that could get them recognized. No crests or signs of affiliation were visible either, it was simply an average sized humanoid life form, dressed in dark clothing, not letting any skin visible, with goggles and a mask to shield their face.
The dead end kept staring at them right in the face.
Rose had spent almost the entirety of that first day of shore leave cooped in her room, sitting in front of the desk. As soon as she got finished with medical files and reports, she moved back to searching for the spy, rinse and repeat. She hadn’t left the room; she knew it was bordering on obsessive, to insist on finding that spy when it was obvious she wouldn’t find a new lead by staring at papers on her desk.
But with shore leave still ongoing, no new missions planned, and the boys out having their well deserved fun, it was all she could do.
In the silence of her barracks, even despite them being at the edge of the building with a view of the city, Rose made out the sound of steps approaching. Whoever was taking them was being careful not to be heard, and hushed whispers traveled through her door until the steps stopped.
Rose was already expectant when a light knock came on her door, but she hadn’t expected it would be her commander back early from a boys’ night drinking he and the pack had been planning for weeks.
Her dark brown eyes sparkled with joy, even if not much more expression showed in her features at the sight of him.
Wolffe smiled faintly at her, and he quickly turned around to give a signal to someone else, whom Rose figured was Sinker due to the silver head of hair she saw walking away with his back already turned on them, a hand waving dismissively as he stumbled through his steps.
Rose laughed and looked at Wolffe. “Are you sure it’s safe to send Sinker back on his own?”
“He was the least drunk of them all,” Wolffe chuckled as he closed Rose’s door behind him to then let his hands find Rose’s elbows as he held her in front of her. His watchful eyes grazed over her features, noticing the darkness of her under-eyes, the way her gaze wasn’t always on him, the way her red lipstick had faded, not having been reapplied for hours.
“You’re tired,” Wolffe said, his lips curving into a little smile as he watched her.
Despite her sleep deprivation, Rose managed her distinctive, witty smile at him. “Thank you, Commander Obvious.”
With a scoff, Wolffe looked over at the desk Rose had been working on and he sighed, gently letting go of her to walk over to it and see for himself what she’d been so insistent to work on. The papers were scattered, mixed between medical reports and investigations, with at least three holopads powered up on different tabs.
“Oh, Rose,” Wolffe said softly as he looked at her. “What is all this?”
She sighed, her features dropping into a frown, her voice soft and thoughtful as it could be. “We could have died, Wolffe… I can’t… I can’t let that person loose.”
Wolffe sighed back, but he found himself smiling softly at the woman as he walked back up to her. “I know. I want to find out too, but details are already scarce.”
Rose’s gaze traveled down to the floor as she heard Wolffe confirming the same dead end she’d brushed countless times in her investigation.
“It’s not for you to figure out on your own,” Wolffe continued. “You have us for that.”
Rose’s spunk return as she directed Wolffe a sly little grin. “Is that why you’ve been downing shots of spotchka with Sinker?”
Playfully, Wolffe rolled his eyes at her. “You said you wouldn’t be mad if we didn’t take you.”
“That was a challenge,” Rose wiggled her eyebrows. “I’m afraid you’ve failed.”
“And you say women aren’t complicated,” Wolffe tapped Rose’s chin with his finger as he walked past her and headed over to the side of her bead, looking out the window.
Rose’s barracks on Coruscant had been placed at a good spot. Despite the whole city, her room was able to get a breeze of fresh air, at least, fresh by Coruscant standard. It was a little prize that came with having a room so high up on the skyscraper, along with the fantastic view.
Wolffe seldom got the chance to get views like that. He remembered having a nice view from Rose’s room on Theed as well, but during those days, the view from a balcony was the least he cared about. As the months had gone by, and he and Rose had settled into the way of things, the euphoria had gone down until he’d felt himself going back to his roots.
That included a lot of gazing out at the views of Coruscant. He felt it ground him, and he liked the lights in the distance. Returning to Coruscant had become more of a homecoming for Wolffe than going to Kamino, and he wasn’t the only one in the pack whom that was true for.
Wolffe then looked over at Rose. She’d been silently admiring him as he looked out the window, her eyes having to make a clear effort to keep themselves open. He chuckled at her and he walked up to Rose once more, his gloved hand cupping her cheek.
“I take it you’re too tired to do anything tonight,” he said.
Rose leaned into the warmth of Wolffe’s palm, her eyes finally closing as she placed her hand on top of his. “I just want to sleep.”
With a smile, Wolffe tenderly brushed his hand away from her and turned around to begin to remove the top part of his armor, leaving him only in his undersuit from the waist up.
“On one condition,” he began. “Tomorrow, you forget about everything that’s on your desk and you rest. You’re going to sleep in during the morning, and afterwards you’re going to go out with me, and at night we’ll go to 79’s.”
She laughed. “Just so long as you don’t get in any fights again. You wouldn’t want me filling you up with yarrow again, commander.”
Wolffe had removed his armor from the waist up and he was facing Rose again. “These shore leave days are given to you by the military to recover. Use them. That’s an order.”
Rose wiggled her body and cooed at him. “You’re really sexy when you do that.”
A deep, smooth laugh formed at Wolffe’s chest. “Save that for when you have more energy, bunny.”
He climbed into the bed, his back resting on the wall just below the window, and he beckoned for her to climb in with him. Rose smiled brightly, the apples of her cheeks turning a shade of scarlet as she took his hand and let him pull her into the bed.
She snuggled into the warmth of his chest; the fabric of his shirt and his broad muscles made the perfect pillow for her to finally find some rest in. She faced him, curled up against him with her arms pressed between their bodies, and Wolffe leaned his head on the top of hers, brushing against the softness of her hair.
He felt his heart aching as he held her, unable to fathom the very core of the woman in his arms. Wolffe had realized it many times before, but it always hit him like the first, amazing him to no end. She was so soft, so small in his arms, so utterly his.
To hold Rose in his arms like that, have her trusting him enough to sleep with him, to have her love him in return, it was nothing short of a privilege.
Rose opened her eyes briefly and looked up and out the window to see one of Coruscant’s moons shining above. Its light was hazy, with a few clouds stationed in front of it, but it shone nonetheless. Rose could look at it for hours if she wasn’t so tired, but her eyes begged her to let them rest.
But how could she, when this was all she wanted? To rest in Wolffe’s arms, to have him as her pillow and her blanket, to never be able to feel safer than she did at that moment. And then, when she felt him press a tender kiss to her forehead, she felt her senses give out, prompting her to a peaceful, deep sleep.
A rarity on Coruscant was for there to be birds singing in the morning light. Often, birds would be overshadowed by the engines of ships and speeders carrying people ready to start with their day, but that next morning, when Rose woke up in Wolffe’s arms, the first thing she heard besides her commander’s steady breath was the singing of a little bird perched outside of her window.
One of her hands rested just in front of her face, the only thing standing between her and Wolffe’s chest. She rubbed her eyes as she slipped further into consciousness, feeling the way Wolffe softly stirred awake with his arms still around her.
He groaned as he hid his face in the pillow, yawning as he emerged from his own dreams. The nights he spent with Rose were always calm, peaceful; since he’d started dating her, the nightmares had become less frequent, and Rose rarely had to sit with him in the middle of the night anymore, comforting him back to sleep.
It baffled Wolffe how wonderful a good night of sleep could feel.
His eyes strained as they attempted to get used to the morning light, and his arms tightened around the warm, curvy body of his lover, his hands settling at the curves of the back of her thighs, cradling her.
Softly, Wolffe angled his head to find her, not having to open his eyes to do so. He felt his lips brushing her forehead as he planted soft kisses on her skin, only to trail down her nose until finally he kissed Rose’s full lips, soft and devoid of any red tint.
“You’re heaven to wake up to,” Wolffe whispered as his eyes finally opened to look into her dark brown ones only to see her brightly grinning at him with an air of sleepiness.
She giggled softly, nuzzling further into his broad, strong figure.
“What?” He asked her.
“Nothing, I just… I really love what you said,” she whispered, letting one of her fingers gently curl some of the hair on his chest.
Wolffe smiled at her tenderly, his voice lowering into an airy hint of the authority it always carried. “Well, you are.”
Rose shifted her body and positioned herself on top of him, and Wolffe’s grip on her loosened just enough for her to perch herself properly as she straddled his waist.
“Now that we’re on that,” she said. “You’re way more comfortable than that mattress.”
As she spoke, Rose trailed her fingers over the lines of Wolffe’s muscles with a featherlight touch, biting her lower lip as she eyed him with a delicate flame in her eyes.
Wolffe gave a low, proud laugh as he placed his hand on top of hers, pressing her palm fully on his chest.
“What are you looking at with so much craving, bunny?” He challenged. “I thought we were having a calm morning.”
“Oh, we are,” Rose cooed, bending over slowly to give him a kiss on the lips, short and luscious and filled with all her hunger. “For now, at least.”
Wolffe grinned, and he groaned as he thought of all the things he’d do with Rose on that day.
“But it’s not because of what you’re thinking,” Rose continued, her voice edging out of the seductive tone it had carried.
“Oh?” Wolffe asked her as she got up from the bed and headed to grab a change of clothes.
“No,” she winked at him. “We have a date with Sinker and the others for brunch, and that was a plan I was planning on going through with even before you sentenced me to no more research.”
Wolffe easily stepped out of his seductive mood as well, only to give Rose an are you fucking kidding me look.
She laughed softly. “And yes, you’re coming too. Cheer up, it’ll be fun.”
Wolffe sighed and pressed himself back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. “Honestly, Rose, I was kind of just hoping we’d spend the day alone together.”
“Oh?” She mimicked him as she powered up the stream of the refresher. “To do what, exactly?”
Wolffe sat up and looked into the refresher, pleased by the fact that she was already halfway through taking her clothes off. He stood up from the bed and paced towards her with slow steps, his broad figure looming seductively over her small, soft, curvy body.
“You know what, bunny,” he purred at her.
Rose couldn’t help the way her eyes landed on his chest, nor could she keep the hungry look from manifesting itself in her features.
“I want you to say it,” she said as she took a step back and removed her shirt, letting her breasts fall freely.
She didn’t break eye contact with Wolffe as she pulled her panties down and stepped out of them, nor when she brushed her fingers through her hair to untangle it.
Wolffe continued to stare hungrily at her. “I just want to fuck you.”
Rose pouted at him, feigning innocence. “But, commander… We’re going to be late if we do that now!”
She stepped into the refresher and brushed her hands over her body as the water covered her, her gaze still firmly on Wolffe’s, rejoicing at how his eyes darkened with every second.
Finally, Wolffe slid his trousers off as quickly as he could. “The hell we are.”
Rose broke eye contact with Wolffe only to stare shamelessly at his length, already hard and throbbing merely at the sight of her. In no time, Wolffe’s body was in front of her, his strong arms caging her to the wall of the refresher as he became drenched as well. His lips crashed onto hers, kissing her with all the fire he could muster.
She moaned with delight at how good it felt simply to have him pressed to her; his lips, kissing her with that sensual fire he carried, his hands kneading at the flesh of her thighs, her ass, her waist. His voice, escaping him in low moans, groans, curses in his native language. Each time, Wolffe reminded Rose how irresistible he was to her.
Her hands went up to his head, and Rose entwined her fingers in his thick, black curls, though focusing on the few gray strands stemming from the crown of his head, falling to the sides of his temples.
As the kiss only grew in fire, Wolffe’s hands firmly held Rose’s behind and he picked her up for her to instantly wrap her legs around his torso. She grinned into the kiss as a playful, pleased coo left her, turning into a soft moan as Wolffe’s fingers found her clit and brushed it a few times, applying the perfect amount of pressure he knew always drove Rose wild.
“You’re so wet already, mesh’la,” he spoke into her ear. “I think you’re ready to take me. You said you didn’t want to be late, right?”
“That’s going to backfire on you, commander,” she teased back, her voice trembling as he kept playing with her clit. “I know you like to take your time, do things right.”
“I don’t mind getting gruff with you,” he smirked deviously at her. “And we both know you’re a dirty little girl who loves it when things get messy.”
Rose gasped, faking her indignation. “Me? But I’m so sweet and innocent—”
She was cut off when she felt Wolffe slipping his girth inside her, her statement, teasing as it was supposed to be, contradicted by the utterly obscene, luscious moan that dripped from her like honey.
Her moaning only continued as Wolffe quickened his pace, all the while looking into her eyes as though he were challenging her. His thumb remained pressed onto her clit, rubbing it while his cock did the rest of the work, slamming into her at a pace relentless even for her standards.
“Told you that you loved it,” Wolffe said between grunts. “You’ll love anything I do to you, won’t you, mesh’la?”
Her lips formed a pout, and all Rose could manage in return was a helpless little mewl that made Wolffe’s cock throb inside of her. It only made him go faster, hammer into her deepest corners as he chased his own release, and hers too when the rubbing on her clit got more insistent.
“Can I get you to come with me, bunny?” He groaned.
Rose was already so aroused, so entranced by Wolffe himself that his very words were enough to have her seeing stars. He looked unfathomably handsome at that moment, his strong body holding her, his skin against hers, decorated by drops of water sliding down him, as well as droplets at the edge of his beautiful curls, his eyes dark and dangerous and sexy, just the way she loved her commander.
Her fingertips clawed into his strong shoulders when she was on her very edge, and she let herself slip into ecstasy, her head falling back on the wall as her vision went white with pleasure, hearing her own blissful moans as well as Wolffe’s breathy groans of pleasure on top of the running water of the refresher, until she finally felt his hot seed spilling inside her.
With her chest heaving, trying to catch her breath, Rose felt Wolffe gently set her down, not letting her go until he was sure she could stand firmly on her feet. He then took some body wash into his palm and he began to gently brush it over her body, taking care of every corner, every curve, as though it were a rite of adoration.
Rose did the same in return, and she focused on cleaning his hair, until at last he too paid attention to her luscious black locks, both of them kissing lips with devotion as they let the water rinse them.
They helped each other dress; Wolffe carefully brushed Rose’s hair, and just before they stepped out the door, they shared one more tender kiss in her bedroom, their hands holding as they made their way down the corridors and headed to the restaurant Sinker had told Rose about early the day before.
The whole pack was already there, and they all looked at the couple with tiny grins as they took a seat at the table. Wolffe eyed the bright orange drinks set in fancy glasses in front of everyone, even in front of him and Rose, and for a moment it seemed alien to him, even ridiculous.
But beside him, Rose was delighted at the drinks, the bread, the fruit, the caf. Her eyes genuinely seemed to shine with joy, making Wolffe smile in silence as his hand gently squeezed hers under the table.
He was as lucky as a soldier like him could get.
“You two look very well-rested,” Sinker told Rose and Wolffe from across the table. “I take it you two slept together? I mean… you slept? Right?”
Rose chuckled, the opportunity never escaping through her fingertips. “Oh, we did. It was very good, if you’re wondering. And what did you do last night, Sinker?”
Proud as Sinker was of Rose’s wit, he stuck his middle finger up at her, not about to let her win the battle.
“He dropped Wolffe off at your barracks, came back to ours, cried because he’s still single, and puked,” Boost laughed.
Sinker redirected the middle finger over at Boost, earning a laugh from everyone at the table.
At the opposite end, Corvis tried his best to hold in laughter at the sight of Wolffe’s eyes hardening at the little orange drink in front of him.
“It’s a mimosa, Wolffe,” Corvis said. “Yes, it’s a girly drink, no, it won’t kill you to take it.”
“What is even in this thing?” Wolffe asked.
“Oh, just some citrus juice and champagne,” Rose shifted her weight closer to Wolffe, tilting her glass close to his and clinked them together. “Fancy, elegant, soft. Alcohol you can drink at breakfast without being a social pariah. What more do you want?”
Wolffe met eyes with Rose, as though to speak with his gaze the one word he was thinking, and Rose’s features softened, as if she’d understood. Her cheeks adopted a faint shade of pink, thinking back to the way she’d woken up in his arms, to the raw passion in the refresher, until she was brought back to the present by Wolffe’s hand squeezing hers again underneath the table.
“You will make me trash the place if you don’t stop being disgusting,” Sinker said as he reached out for a bun from the basket of bread in the middle of the table, handing it to Comet. “And what’s up with you? You haven’t spoken.”
“You didn’t exactly let me sleep last night,” Comet replied, evidently trying to avoid looking at Wolffe and Rose. “There’s only so much shut-eye you can get with all that constant whining.”
“Except, who did the whining?” Corvis said quietly, though loud enough for the others to hear.
Rose lowered her gaze, knowing it would do little to diffuse the awkwardness of the moment. She was fortunate to have been with Wolffe, who knew how to go by any possible mishaps with his squad better than anyone else, and he started handing out bread to everyone else at the table, leaving himself for last.
He knew the best way to get to these men’s good side was through their stomach.
“We’re on shore leave, boys,” Wolffe said, speaking in his usual commander voice. “What have you all got planned?”
“Nothing that concerns you much,” Sinker smirked.
“Care to run that by me again?” Wolffe challenged the sergeant.
“Well, we know you and Rose have probably set aside the day to do disgusting, unspeakable things to each other, so the boys and I are going to hit the penthouse to play some games,” Sinker explained. “We’ll be there all day in case you want to drop by even though you probably won’t, but at night we’re all going to 79’s. That’s a must.”
“We’ll be there,” Wolffe confirmed.
“Just be sure to clean up beforehand,” Boost teased.
“And to lock the bathrooms if you sneak away,” Corvis followed.
“Can we talk about something other than our sex life?” Rose teased back. “Why can’t you guys just stuff yourselves in bread and bacon like regular men do?”
“Because, Rose, brunch is a femenine tradition that requires talking and socializing,” Sinker replied. “But you’re right, I’ll drop the subject. I don’t want to upset anyone at this table.”
Rose knew Sinker wasn’t talking about her, nor was he talking about Wolffe. The two made vivid eye contact like the best friends they were, promising they would talk about it later without exception.
After that, Boost found himself tapping on Wolffe’s shoulder, his eyes bright as if they were those of a child.
“Is there really bacon here?” Boost asked, hopeful.
Wolffe rolled his eyes. “Order whatever you want, it’s on me.”
“Thanks, sir.”
Rose grabbed a bite of her muffin and ate it quietly as she observed the men around the table, each of them talking about something, just having a good time.
It seemed eerie to know of the gruesome battles they’d been through together, all of it seeming like a phantom when put into contrast with that moment, when the biggest concern seemed to be gossip.
But Rose would take it. She’d enjoy it, she’d enjoy Wolffe’s company. The charm of that morning hadn’t quite faded, and she frankly felt she’d burst.
There was nothing that could ruin it for them.
*
Wolffe and Rose had planned on doing several things with their day off, like visiting the roof gardens, dropping by the penthouse to challenge the others in whatever games they could find, eating someplace nice, just talking at a balcony with the view of the city, enjoying each other’s company like a couple, rather than just a commander and a medic who’d found love somehow.
They’d done the last part, but instead, they’d spent the entirety of the day in Rose’s room.
Make out session followed make out session. Their lips were sore and swollen from how much they had kissed. Declarations of love had been whispered countless times and in different languages, at different decibels. They’d had sex sweetly, passionately, it could go from rough to soft, tender to luscious, from the bed to the floor, the refresher, the wall, the desk, truly never being able to have enough of the other.
But when the sun had set, it was time for them to go back into the world once more, not wanting to break the promise they’d made to a squad who was counting on their presence that night.
The ambience of The 79’s was the same as it usually was, hitting Rose with that air of nostalgia and a sense of anticipation of a good night as she walked in with her arm linked with Wolffe’s.
The couple always stole glances from troopers and by-goers alike, all of them gawking at the sheer level of attractiveness that Wolffe and Rose oozed when they walked by, owning the place with every step they took. They made sense, they were hot, the concept of a relationship between them was promising.
People envied them, wanted them, wanted to be them.
Rose noticed Sinker’s waving hand and walked over to their booth. When they arrived, Corvis and Boost exchanged a couple credits, having bet whether or not the couple would deign to show up at the reunion, earning Boost a light punch in the arm from Wolffe as Rose took a seat in front of Sinker.
“I cannot help but notice you’re dressed better than the whole bar,” Sinker winked at her, his gaze shamelessly falling on Rose’s cleavage.
While Wolffe gave him a death glare, Rose charmingly laughed, inching her body a tad closer to Wolffe’s. She knew a night at 79’s called for a dress-to-impress mentality, and she’d nailed it with her tight black blouse and her brown, flowy mini-skirt with thigh-high boots.
She knew all the eyes were on her, including Wolffe’s. She’d seen him hungrily watching her before they left her room; she could have sworn Wolffe would skip on 79’s entirely just to have her in that outfit.
Rose did love to tease Wolffe so.
A waiter brought a round of light blue cocktails, handing one to each person at the table; Rose took a sip of it and enjoyed its delicate, fruity flavor topped by the intense sting of alcohol as she listened to the boys making conversation around her. They talked about the cutie waiting for drinks at the bar, except it turned out she was there with someone. They talked about wanting to take to the dance floor, but how none of them felt good enough at dancing, how they’d eventually do it when they’d drank enough.
Nothing spoke good times to Rose like a night out with her friends.
But as her gaze fell on Wolffe, she knew she wanted more. She wanted him.
Her drink was almost gone, and she felt the sweet waves of alcohol on her body. Rose had gone from mildly leaning on him to pressing her body on his, resting her head on his shoulder, tracing the outlines of his wolf tattoo with the tips of her fingers. She looked up at him, her eyes sparkling.
Wolffe smiled at her, barely noticeable to anyone else, before planting a soft kiss on her lips, proudly watching as she blushed. Rose’s hands traveled down Wolffe’s strong arm all the way to his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze, grabbing his full attention.
“I think I need to go to the powder room,” she said.
Wolffe moved over to let her out of the booth and she casually made her way over to the entrance of the bar’s restrooms, but before going in, she turned around and signaled Wolffe.
She hadn’t thought of being there all by herself.
Rose walked in and noticed the place was empty, and it was decent—the 79’s excelled at keeping the place clean. It would be more than enough.
Wolffe walked into the bathroom shortly after she’d arrived, and he eyed her with hungry, yet loving eyes as the door closed behind him, the music muffled but still booming outside.
“Still not enough, huh?” He teased her.
Rose thought back to the day behind her, to how sore she was, to how much she ached between her legs, her folds tired, quite possibly overstimulated—and most definitely still wanting more.
It would never be enough.
“You know what I want, commander,” she raised a brow and pressed her behind on the sink counter behind her.
Wolffe’s gaze darkened, his trousers tightening instantly as Rose leaned forward slightly, enough to enhance the cleavage of her little blouse. His gaze fell on the perfect curves of her taut, perky breasts, watching closely as they moved up and down with her breathing.
“Fuck, you’re hot,” he walked toward her.
Rose felt her walls clenching around nothing, already anticipating one more pounding from Wolffe, her panties no doubt already getting drenched in arousal.
“Wolffe,” she whimpered. “Please…”
Gently, Wolffe set his hands on her waist, looking into her eyes and awaiting her words.
“I need to have you now,” her voice hushed, trembling in anticipation.
Painfully slowly, Wolffe leaned down and finally locked lips with Rose, kissing her for barely more than a second, but with an undeniable heat. His lustful eyes stared into her as his lips curved to form a seductive smirk.
“Turn around,” he said.
Biting her lip, Rose did as he said and turned to face the mirror, looking at her reflection as Wolffe bent her over the sinks. Her gaze fell on the way her own cleavage looked in the mirror until she became distracted by Wolffe running his hands up and down the back of her thighs, his gaze hungrily brushing over her body, a carnal desire visible in the darkness of his eyes.
“Fuckin’ ‘ell, Rose…” Wolffe groaned as he lifted her skirt above her waist and pulled her panties down to her ankles. He brushed his thumb over her clit, swollen and wet from a long day of making love, still anxious for him.
“Wolffe…” Rose cooed, wiggling her hips. “Please, Wolffe…”
“If I’d known it was that easy to make you beg,” he teased, letting his hands knead the flesh of her ass. “Fuck, look at you, bent over that sink.”
Wolffe bent over too, his body over hers, until his lips hovered above her ear. He breathed out onto her skin, making her shiver, and he chuckled proudly as he uncovered his cock from the confines of his trousers.
“Good girl, bunny,” he whispered into her ear, delighting in the choked moan she struggled to hold in as he pushed himself inside her.
He started rocking his hips into her, his pace slow and passionate, letting her feel every sensation of how he stretched her out and stroked her walls.
Rose was so sensitive from the whole day that it felt otherworldly to her. He was barely moving and she was already seeing stars, switching from looking at herself in the reflection to looking back at him.
“The music’s loud out there, mesh’la,” Wolffe whispered. “I think you can moan, don’t you?”
“Wolffe—”
“And just think, if anyone walks in, they’re going to see you here bent over for me,” Wolffe continued, quickening his pace gradually until they could hear the slapping of skin filling the room.
Rose’s moans got louder. Her hands tightly held the sink in front of her, prompting Wolffe to stand back up straight and hold her hips for leverage. He became faster after that, no longer delaying in pounding relentlessly into his beloved, he too rendered sensitive from a long day of fucking.
She was intoxicating to him. The sight of her bent over that sink, submitted to him, her lips pouting and breath gasping in the pure ecstasy that he made her feel. Wolffe slowly slipped further into that same realm of bliss where nothing else mattered, where his mind would wander to all the things he wanted to do to her, to share with her. Every curve in her body was perfect, every sound she made, from moan to whimper, was delicious. Every corner of her made him lose his mind just a little bit more, making him fuck her harder, faster.
His hands found the top of her back, brushing down the soft fabric of her blouse as he kept up his pace. Wolffe then rested his hands on her ass cheeks, looking down at her spread for him, enjoying the view, and his mind continued to wander. Slowly, as though tentatively, ready to stop at the first sign of protest, he spread Rose’s cheeks open just a bit, gazing into the little hole and slowly taking a finger to brush over it.
Rose gasped, looking up at him through the mirror, but she didn’t protest. She noticed Wolffe looking at her for confirmation, and between whimpers, she gave Wolffe a clear nod.
He teased her a bit, brushing softly over it as he continued to pound into her pussy, his cock throbbing inside her, aroused by the delightful new pleasure. Carefully, achingly slow, Wolffe slid a single finger down the hole, his hips never stopping.
Rose moaned sinfully at the sensation paired with her pussy being railed. Her vision blurred; she had to grasp tighter at the sink in front of her to keep herself from moaning any louder, but at that point it was futile to even pretend she still cared. Rose reached a point where she couldn’t even keep her eyes open, she felt too devastatingly close to climax, one that would feel new and different, raw and downright lewd.
“Who knew you’d love that, mesh’la?” Wolffe grinned. “You like it when I finger your ass?”
“Yeah,” Rose whimpered, struggling to talk as the liquid heat threatened to spill into every corner of her body.
“You want me to do more?” Wolffe huffed. “You want me to fuck your ass?”
Rose’s eyes opened, her gaze finding Wolffe once more through the mirror.
“Fuck, Wolffe, do everything to me.”
Her words were enough, and Wolffe felt his cock pulsating inside her already clenching walls. The two moaned in unison, drowning in the carnal thrill of each other. They moaned the other’s name out, cursed, swore their love, until they were no longer part of the bar, part of the world.
It was just them.
In a blur, Rose got down from her high and found herself sitting on the counter, her back turned to the mirror as Wolffe slid her panties back on. She sat, her head spinning as she vaguely heard Wolffe cleaning up, until at last his lips found hers and trapped her in the most gentle of kisses.
When Wolffe parted the kiss, Rose looked up at him, a gleam in her eyes.
“Wolffe?” She whispered.
“Yeah?”
Her hands slid up his abdomen, finding his chest, until finally she wrapped her arms around his shoulders.
“I love you,” she spoke, her voice carrying a subtle quiver in it, only making it more endearingly genuine.
Wolffe grinned softly at her. “I love you too, bunny.”
He planted a series of tender kisses on her lips, his hands cupping her neck and her jaw, holding her intimately close to him, once again rejoicing in her softness.
Wolffe met her eyes. “You want to go back out and dance?”
Rose smiled dreamily in return. “Only if it’s a slow dance.”
He tilted his head at her answer.
“And later I want to sleep in your arms again,” she continued, her head leaning on his shoulder.
Wolffe chuckled. “It’s a date.”
Rose felt she would fall asleep right there, and she knew she’d be safe if she did. It was of little concern what else happened that night. All she cared about was being with Wolffe.
The way Wolffe’s arms tightened around her, squeezing her more to him ever so delicately, let her know that the feeling was mutual, despite how much they seemed to hate each other the first night they’d been together at that very same bar.

So I’m going to talk about Risen because it’s my only published work right now (putting work on the internet is scary, my dudes 😂). It’s a TWD fic, so I hope that still counts!
Inspiration
So obviously it’s based on TWD, and inspired by that interview where Norman Reedus talks about how they almost played Daryl as gay, but it never came to be. This got the wheels turning and once the idea was there I couldn’t put it down.
Preparation
Honestly, I don’t do a whole lot of preparing when I’m writing anything. I’m more of a see what we need when we get there/burn all the bridges as we cross them kind of person. Mostly I kind of sit with the character, the situation, and try and let them take me where they want to go. It’s sometimes super easy and sometimes super hard, but I find it a pretty trustworthy method.
Art process
So I actually started this fic a while back with a completely different character and plan in mind, but it didn’t go anywhere. I took a new approach this time, and just wrote a flow of thought first few chapters to see if it would take hold in my mind, and it definitely has. Posting the first chapter as soon as it was edited meant I didn’t mull over it for days, wondering and worrying about the state of it until I finally realised I hated it and deleted it all. Instead, people read it, I got some positive feedback and that inspired me to keep writing. It’s working so far.
Thoughts
It’s a bit daunting posting anything for the first time, whether it’s art, a novel, fanfiction, poetry. But I think this fic will always be quite special to me because of how nerve wracking it was to post for the first time and get my work out there for someone to see.

You know what? Fuck it. I want to talk about this and get it off my chest.
You know how when people think of "Weird" people, it's always the people who seem strange at first, but once you get to know them, they're really nice and kind?
What about the people who seem nice until you start talking to them? The people who have enough social skills to carry a customer service interaction, but beyond that they're completely lost? The people who always seem to be hiding behind one mask or another?
Because I can tell you from experience: those people will have a REALLY rough time finding friends. Because I am exactly that sort of weird.
In elementary school, I always had those cross section books that showed the inner mechanisms of things, or the books on trains. During recess, I would sometimes join a group doing an activity, but could also just do my own thing. I never really had a bullying problem, because honestly, I was the kid that always got overlooked.
I made one(1) friend in elementary school. After that, I got roped in to a group of friends for middle and high school. But once high school was over, that group disintegrated. It was just me, that one friend from elementary, and another. The other studies abroad, so I never see her anyways. When she is in town, I get to hear all about her hanging out with my first friend. Things I only hear about afterwards.
I managed to cement myself as the geeky movie/video games friend. Anything more active, I don't get to go to.
Now, I live alone. My job pays well enough for that, but my social life has taken a dive. I don't see my friends very often, because they're off doing other things. I've mentioned I would be interested in going to some of these things, but I have yet to get invited.
Now what? I don't have the social skills to go out by myself and meet new people. That's never been my strong suit.
I'm a solid 5/10 on looks. Literally just average. There's nothing distinctive about my appearance, so people don't notice me. If someone does talk to me, it doesn't end in friendship, maybe mild interest until they wander off. Any time I try to approach someone, it doesn't work. I sit alone, and the only time someone sits next to me is when there's nowhere else to sit.
Take a look at my time on here. I've posted art, I've written fanfic, I make 3D models, I stream. None of that does well. Literally none of it. The most amount of notes I've gotten on a piece of art I made is around 80. In this time, I've made some friends, and lost contact with all but 2 of them because I just don't know what to say I've never had a friendship like that.
And that's the core root of my problem. That's EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. I want a friend, or a group of friends, who just does things together. Goes downtown and does some window shopping. Goes hiking. Explores around the state a bit. Does movie nights with popcorn and laughter. I WANT THAT.
But it seems that I just don't get to have that. No, I have a friend who never has the time of day for me anymore, and I don't even know where to begin making new friends.
And this isn't even going into the realm of romance. The concept of romance is something that seems unattainable. It's just not in the cards for me. Someone here might say "Oh, you're over exaggerating, there's someone out there for you!" Yeah? And how is the initial meeting going to occur? How is it going to be sustained when I can't properly carry a conversation to save my life?
I don't even feel comfortable acting like myself in front of people. Nobody knows the full me, because I don't know if they would actually accept me. I told my parents I am bisexual, and they rejected that aspect of me. How can I trust that some other person won't? I can't do that again.
So, no. The one thing that I want is something that I don't seem to be able to get. I don't get close relationships. No, I get to be held at arms length, and only when it's convenient.
Fuck.

Hiii! I loved your Iwa fluff headcanons and was wondering if you could do one with Suna? thanks <3
yesyesyes i would love to!!! iwaizumi’s version.
Tumblr media
↬ when suna was younger, he really, really wanted a pet bunny. like he really, really loved bunnies, and would beg his parents day and night for one. he even made a really badly edited powerpoint on bunnies and why he deserves one (aside the editing, it was a very persuasive powerpoint. they filmed him while he presented it and the video haunts him to this day). his parents were relentless, though, and didn’t get him his bunny. instead, though, they surprised him with a cat. a cat isn’t as high maintenance since they’re very independent creatures, but can also be very fun. they figured any pet would make him happy. they were wrong. suna hated her so much and would never interact with her. like to the point where he nicknamed her “bitch” and now she mainly answers to that instead of her name. but all that only worked against him, and the cat just kept getting more and more attached to him.
↬ suna now loves her so much, and she’s just as attached to him. like he would kill for her, honestly. it’s his cat >>> everyone else. he has an album on his phone dedicated to pictures and videos of only her, and her bed is in his room because she always ends up sleeping there anyways. he realized later on when he grew older that a cat was the perfect animal for him, and he’s not sure if it’s a parents thing and they really knew or they were just winging it and hoping for the best, but she’s his favorite ever and he would risk it all for her.
↬ his favorite sleeping position with her would be when he’s casually laying on his back scrolling through his phone and she comes and crawls along him to lay on his chest. the warmth he feels within his chest like he just gets so giddy.
↬ suna is crazy obsessed with serial killer documentaries, horror movies, unsolved mysteries, everything like that. his favorite pastime is watching and reading these things, but honestly, it’s not even a like, “wow that’s so cool,” and more of a, “suna what is wrong with you???” type of thing, because he’s the type to have like insidious 2 in the background as he does his homework or gets ready or something. it’s kind of scary how unfazed he is with things like that.
↬ but! yeah he’s extremely brave when it comes to horror movies, borderline unhinged, but his biggest fear? his phobia, if you will? spiders. insects in general, really. he will scream like a sixth grader that’s yet to hit puberty if he sees a spider crawling near him. once he was peeing in the miya twins’ bathroom and some kind of cockroach crawling on the wall and nearly fainted. thank god he was already peeing because he would’ve pissed his pants either way. it’s so embarrassing for him, so he’s so good at hiding it. he just freezes impossibly when he notices an insect and doesn’t take his eye off of it until someone else notices it and kills it. there was this instance when they were at a training camp and he kept feeling as if something was crawling on him, but assumed it was just really hot and his skin was tingling from that. something was crawling on him, though, and it was not just really hot. Top 10 Most Traumatic Moments of his life, especially because atsumu’s first instinct was to record the whole thing.
↬ suna is extremely, and i mean extremely, touch-starved. physical touch has always made him uncomfortable for a reason unknown to him, so he never really accepted hugs or kisses from his family, and would feel so icky if he was roped into a group hug b by his teammates. so when he met you, he thought you’d be so against the fact that he’s uncomfortable with it, because who would want a partner that doesn’t wanna touch or be touched? turns out he actually craves it, and needs it badly, he just needed to take his own time and pace approaching it, and with how understanding you were, he doubted he could ever figure this out without you. he just took it slow, you know? but the more he touched you — held your hand, pinched your cheek, rested his head on your shoulder, pecked your lips for a few seconds longer than last time — the more he wanted you.
↬ when suna became comfortable with the thought and idea that yeah, he actually craves physical touch so damn bad, he wouldn’t stop touching you every second he could. he became insanely clingy, no matter if you were in public or alone. just always has a hand on you at all times. when he’s alone with you, he’s always trying to cuddle with you. you wanna sit and chill on your phone and not really talk? sure, just come do it with your head on his chest. you wanna watch a movie and munch on some popcorn and possibly share a drink? of course he’d love to! just come sit between his legs with your popcorn on your lap so he can steal some and also offer you some sips from the drink. you don’t wanna hug him after a game cause he’s too sweaty? that’s too bad, he wasn’t asking for permission. so you see, suna is a clingy mf. like latches onto you like a koala clingy <3
↬ suna’s music taste is very diverse. his favorite genre is alternative and rock, like the neighborhood, arctic monkeys, etc, but he also loves, loves loves glitchcore music, but also will un-ironically listen to kpop, and rap, and hannah montana’s old music too because why not. he just doesn’t care. if a song is good, it’s good. so what if it caters to a bunch of 12 year olds and not him? who decides that anyways?
↬ suna is very good at hair. like so good. as his sister started to get older, and her hair grew longer, she would sometimes ask him to do it for her before school. at first he was terrible at it, except maybe ponytails cause his hair was long enough at some point to push back into a ponytail, but everything else like parting her hair for pigtails or doing braids or a bun… he was just awful. so, in response, he’d just practice. he’d watch videos as he’s doing his little sister’s hair and be so focused, with his tongue sticking out a little and his eyes squinting as he tries to get it accurate. eventually, he becomes a master at it! you find this out when one day, as you’re just over at his house, his sister comes into his room with a hair tie and a brush and he just carries her up onto his lap and braids her hair as he chats with you and it was so endearing and so impressive and you genuinely believe that was the moment you realized you were in love with him.
↬ he offers to do your hair for you all the time now!! especially if you’ve just showered and are too lazy to brush it and tie it in some way, so he does it for you. he’s actually so, very gentle when brushing your hair, you don’t even feel a thing. if anything, it makes you really sleepy.
↬ when he joined the national team and started to become more and more of a public figure, he’d send you really explicit fan art of him and other teammates he was shipped with just to piss you off. if he was feeling really bold, he’d send you smut written about him. he says he wants to make you jealous. he just wants to provoke you in every way possible, really. one time someone made an edit plot twisting you and him to him and like atsumu so he downloaded video star and made such a bad edit of you and him and posted it on his twitter and instagram and it went viral. like it was one of those edits of just pictures flipping and hearts flashing and lights spasming all over the screen it was so bad it made you cry with laughter. that was his way of telling the world, no one but this person for me, right here <3
↬ i think he’d be very good at doing chores and cleaning and all that, despite how lazy he is. i just think it’s a habit kind of thing, where he grew up doing laundry and making his bed and cleaning his room and washing the dishes that he genuinely doesn’t mind doing it cause it’s natural for him. and he’s learnt to enjoy it.
↬ suna’s favorite color was deep, deep purple at some point, but now it’s between green and black.
↬ he’s caught up with all seasons of keeping up with the kardashians. please don’t ask him why, he doesn’t even know.
↬ once when you were out with him you just gave him a rock that was on the floor and he’s kept that rock with him ever since. like it’s in the drawer next to his bed and sometimes he just takes it out and holds it in his hand while he’s doing homework or scrolling through his phone.
↬ he spams you a lot. like at any time time of the day he just sends you a million videos of him doing the most mundane things; he sends you a video of him eating some almonds and at the end it’s just him going, “i’s good,” or him lip-syncing a song you sent him to listen to, or him trying to do eyeliner because why not. or maybe it’s pictures of him and it’s always ridiculous: him exaggerating him thinking, and then captioning it “thinking,” or just a picture of him on the roof with a peace sign and a pretty smile, or a close up photo of his face saying, “miss u.”
↬ he also spams you with memes all the time. and there’s no set type, it’s just all kinds. really corny memes and really cursed memes, wholesome memes and also memes that bully you. it’s all about the versatility.
↬ suna loves to sleep, he really does, but before meeting you, the only place where he could properly fall into a deep sleep was his bed. after meeting you, anywhere where you were next to him was the perfect place to sleep. if he had your presence near him he could sleep, it didn’t matter, especially if he was resting on your lap or shoulder or gripping onto your hand or resting his legs on your lap. he just wants you close to him, you know? like he feels so safe and comfortable when you’re around, it kind of scares him if he’s honest.

>>summary: taehyung tries to make you see things for what they really are, but it's hard to see through the rose colored glasses.
Winter break has been long awaited and it is finally, finally here. The snow has coated the ground thick, making the town look like a winter wonderland. The air is sharp and cold but not to a miserable extent. Just chilly enough to bundle up, to hold a hand a little tighter and soak up their warmth.
Your favorite season is fall, but the later months are a close second. You love seeing the way everyone’s faces get red when snow flurries come down to kiss their nose and cheeks. Love the way pom poms bounce atop little hats as children play and have snowball fights. Winter is surprisingly one of the warmest, sweetest times of the year. Like the hot coco Jeongguk has been swapping your regular macchiato with lately.
There’s a greatly anticipated party tonight- a mashup of Taehyung’s birthday and New Year’s Eve. Anticipated for the simple fact that said birthday boy has steadily been ignoring you for weeks, and tonight was a night where he couldn’t evade your attempts of reconciliation. He hasn’t returned a single call or even sent a text back. You can’t even be mad at him really, you know it’s justified. You know you fucked up. The coffee date you had with Yoongi last week let you know what you did.
Over an iced coffee, you learned that you had unintentionally skipped out on your best friend's Winter Showcase. The important one that he mentioned multiple times. The one you promised to attend no matter what.
It wasn’t on purpose; you wanted to go, to support him. But you just got caught up. In life, in school, in Jeongguk. It happens.
When Yoongi asked you why you had missed it, when he told you how hurt Taehyung was by your absence, your heart dropped, sank deep within your chest as your mouth fell open before closing, a small pursed frown on your lips. You didn’t have a good excuse. You went to get tattoos with Jeongguk and then to a party where you fucked him, and then home after that? You were too tired to make it? You just simply forgot? Those excuses weren’t good enough for you and you knew they wouldn’t be good enough for Taehyung.
Whereas Yoongi was okay with distance, long periods in between hanging out and talking, Taehyung wasn’t. He was the kind of friend that needed support, reassurance that you cared. He liked quality time and hangs outs that were planned ahead so he could look forward to them. He was looking forward to you being at his showcase.
The party is packed, even more so than usual. Students, drop-outs, alumni, and randoms alike, all congregate to bring in the new year, to celebrate the end of finals, and a certain art majors birthday. Bodies are on bodies, music is loud and deafening. Cups, bottles, and small baggies litter the floor and the smell of weed is nauseating.
Jeongguk’s hand in yours is sweet, though. Enough to ebb the distaste in your mouth as you watch the stereotypical disaster that is a college party.
“I’m going to go find the drinks, okay?” you lie, squeezing Jeongguk’s hand lightly.
He squeezes back, kisses the side of your head as he says, “Bring me one back too?”
You nod, and slip out of his view. Scanning the crowd until you see a familiar face.
Jimin is laughing, red cup in his hand, eyes curled and happy. He’s sitting on the arm of a couch, legs swinging as he laughs with a group of people. He takes a drink from his cup and let’s his eyes roam the room like he’s looking for someone.
The way his face changes when he sees you approaching is like a punch in the gut. It goes from happy, and carefree to stony- only a small, irritated, close-lipped smile on his face. Eyes harsh and cold, no longer holding the mirth they were just seconds ago. He says nothing when you step in front of him, he just looks you over like he’s bored and waiting for you to get on with it so he can be done with it.
You shift on your feet under his scrutiny. “Where’s Tae?” you ask.
Jimin narrows his eyes at you and tilts his head. “Now you want to know where he is? Haven’t been concerned with his whereabouts for months. Definitely weren’t worried about it last week.”
You wince but carry on swiftly. “Listen, I know I fucked up. I’m here to apologize.” You look at him expectantly, but he holds his ground. When he doesn’t falter, you resort to begging, “Please, Jimin. He’s my best friend… I miss him.”
You must look pitiful, because Jimin’s indifferent facade fades, and he clicks his tongue like he’s annoyed at himself for giving into you. “He’s getting us drinks in the kitchen.”
A smile takes over your face as you rush out a ‘thank you’, quickly turning on your heel to head in the opposite direction, before Jimin calls after you.
“Yeah?” you ask, looking over your shoulder at him.
“If he’s your best friend, maybe treat him like it, yeah?”
You continue to the kitchen without replying, and you can’t help the little simmer of annoyance that bubbles in your chest. Taehyung has been your best friend for years. And even though Jimin had a point, who was he to tell you anything about yours and Taehyung’s friendship?
Before the thought can fester, however, you see the boy you came looking for, two bottles of vodka in his hand like he’s trying to decide which to use. You see the little party hat atop his shaggy hair before anything else and your heart aches a little. You really did miss him. He lets out a small annoyed sound, and knowing him, he’s probably trying to figure out which has the highest alcohol percentage. You come up next to him, and say his name gently. He jumps, but when he realizes it’s you, the ghost of a smile curls on his lips like he’s happy to see you.
Until it’s replaced with resentment just as quickly. His sharp eyes squint at you before turning back to the bottles in his hands, scowl still in place.
“So you decided you could pencil me in between getting your heart toyed with and your back blown out?” He gives you a side glance and sees how your jaw drops in surprise. He carries on, unbothered. “Or did this just work out because it coincides with New Year’s and because he was invited? Only because he’s Jimin’s friend might I add.”
“Tae-” you try, doing your best to keep the hurt whine out of your tone.
“Save it, __. I don’t want to hear the excuses you have. Just-” he looks at you again, and you think that maybe he softens when he sees your crestfallen features. He sighs like he’s tired. “Just leave me alone. Just for a bit, okay? I’ll get over it eventually,” he finishes, finally deciding on the vodka he wants.
You know his request isn't unreasonable. But it’s already been so long that the distance in your friendship has been eating away at it, that you’re scared ‘eventually’ might take too long and by the time he comes around, there won’t be much of a friendship left. That the damage done, will be irreparable.
“Tae… It’s already been months, can’t we-”
Like night and day, the softness that you were able to pull out of him is immediately replaced with that resentment and anger you were met with when you first stepped into the kitchen.
“Yeah,” he seethes, strong brows furrowed. “And whose fault is that?”
His words are sharp and the sting from them makes you take a step back. That is, until you feel anger of your own creep up your throat like venom. “You’re one to talk, Taehyung. You could have reached out to me, too. You’re no better than me when you’re in a relationship.”
He groans, gives an exasperated laugh before shrugging. “You know what? Maybe I am just as bad as you, but at least I’m actually in a relationship,” he spits, “You’re just fucking someone that doesn’t give a fuck about you.”
You know he’s hurt because of the distance. That he doesn’t intend to be so mean. But that doesn’t make it hurt any less, and it doesn’t stop the angry tears from pooling in your eyes.
And although you’re angry, almost shaking with rage at the feeling of being cornered and blamed, your heart aches at hearing his words.
Jimin, who started seeing Taehyung after you started seeing Jeongguk, had already made your friend official. Had given him the title, the commitment, the relationship that you had been patiently and understandingly waiting for with Jeongguk. The bitterness that bleeds into your heart makes you feel gross and ugly.
You know what they say; that labels are superficial and don’t mean that much. But when you don’t have them? It makes you wonder. If a label really isn’t that important, like everyone says, why is Jeongguk so reluctant to give one to you?
“Jimin’s your boyfriend?” you whisper.
Taehyung gives you a short nod. “Month and half ago. You would’ve known if you got your head out of Jeongguk’s ass.”
Almost like he was summoned, the topic of debate waltz into the room, coming up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. He nuzzles into your neck.
It’s instinctual now, the way your body responds to him. The way you melt into his chest like second-nature, how your hands settle over his like they are keeping them in place. How immediately in his presence you feel calmer; the panicky, hurt feeling you were experiencing moments ago vanishing as if it were just a fleeting thought and not something that’s always in the back of your head.
Not in a possessive, ‘I need him to be mine’ kind of way, though.
More like, ‘Why won’t he be mine?’
“Hi,” he murmurs into your neck.
“Hi, baby,” you respond softly, out of habit. The room shirks around you whenever he’s near. Makes you feel like you’re in your own bubble with him.
Jeongguk’s about to reply, ask where the drinks are, but then he hears an annoyed scoff sound in front of you both. Jeongguk bristles as he looks up and sees Taehyung taking a big swig from his cup.
“Uh- am I interrupting? Should I go?” he asks hesitantly, looking between you and your friend.
“No-” you say at the same time that Taehyung says, “Yes.”
You cringe, and turn in Jeongguk’s arms, hands resting on his chest. “Just give me a couple more minutes okay? I’ll bring the drinks.”
Jeongguk searches your eyes, before looking at Taehyung one last time before giving you a stern nod and a quick kiss.
You turn back to Taehyung, ready to apologize for Jeongguk’s interruption, when he talks over you.
“You’re pathetic,” he starts, and you roll your eyes with an irritated sigh before he continues, “but I know you love him. And that you can’t help it,” he shrugs. “But as your friend, I have to tell you that it’s not going to end well. You probably don’t even need me to tell you that. You probably already know and are choosing to ignore it for the sake of the delusions you’ve made up in your ‘pretty little head’.”
You pout at him quoting you, and your brows furrow. “He cares about me. And he’s Jimin’s best friend. He’s a good person, you don’t even know him,” you argue defensively. Though you know your arguments make little sense and are flimsy at best.
Taehyung frowns. Pauses like he’s thinking.
“I didn’t say he was a bad person, and maybe he does care about you in his own messed up way. But he doesn’t care about you in the way that you want him to.” His lips are still down turned when he speaks again.
“And the difference between him with you and him with Jimin is astronomical; it shouldn’t even be a comparison, but I will humor you,” he rubs a hand up and down his face like he’s tired. “The dynamic is completely different, for obvious reasons. For one, Jimin is a safe relationship. You are not. Jimin isn’t in love with him, Jimin isn’t sucking his dick, and Jimin doesn’t want things from Jeongguk that Jeongguk cannot give, or does not want to give,” he says with a raised brow as he takes a sip of his drink.
It seems that the anger has died down some between you both, a semi-civil conversation finally being had. You wrinkle your brows in confusion at him. “What are you talking about?”
He rolls his eyes. “Cmon __. Why do you think he hasn’t made you his girlfriend? Why do you think he literally has not been in a serious relationship since high school? Why do you think he never agrees to anything more than 2 months out?” He waits for you to answer but you just purse your lips stubbornly. “He’s scared. Dare I say terrified of commitment, and that’s exactly what you want from him right?”
You stay headstrong and quiet for a moment longer, ignoring his question in favor of asking one of your own when you finally do speak up. “If I’m so scary, why hasn’t he left?”
Taehyung shrugs. “Fuck if I know? Maybe he does care about you like you say he does. I don’t think so, but hey,” He raises his hands in mock surrender, like he is throwing in the figurative towel. “Maybe you’re right and maybe I‘m wrong. Or maybe there’s some fucked up codependency fermenting between you both when you copulate. I genuinely have no clue, and frankly, I don’t care to find out. Don’t text me until you come to your senses. And don’t get mad when I tell you ‘I told you so’.”
And with that, he turns and leaves you to make your own drinks. You hope the smile you give Jeongguk when you find him is believable.
That night when you go back to his place, you voice your concerns to him in between sweet, heated kisses that taste like hot cider. You tell him hesitantly how Taehyung voiced his concerns about Jeongguk not caring about you and Jeongguk got a little irritated, a little miffed as he unlatched his lips from your neck. He asked what Taehyung knew, how he even came to that conclusion when he’s not around you both.
He assured you with gentle touches and tender words that of course he cares about you. He reminded you that he always makes time for you, he always answers your calls and your texts, he takes you out every now and then, too. He asks you what you think and when you contemplate your answer, going over what he said, you can’t really argue with him. Even if an uneasy, dismal feeling settles in the pit of your tummy.
~~~
hellooo!! again, this is just a scene and part of the plot that i chose not to use because i felt like the fic was already so long. i wish that i had ended up including it tho, so i hope you enjoyed even though its nothing special <3 feel free to do the things if you liked it: like, comment, reblog, send an ask~~ love u, ty again for helping me reach that milestone <3
Tumblr media
⌗ heeseung
heeseung is definitely the type of person that tries to talk to the person he sits beside all the time
he nudges you all the time and whispers your name whenever he wants your attention
and the fact he had a huge crush on you also added to it
enhypen always have to listen to him since he never ever stops talking about you. like ever.
“oh my god you will never know what y/n told me when i—” and suddenly he’s cut off by the rest of them yelling “we know!”
you never snap at him because you kinda... enjoy the attention
maybe thats how you knew you kinda liked him too, since you could never let sunoo get away with this if he ever called for your name in class
your relationship only stopped there for a while, since the two of you lowkey scared of each other
“no i feel like y/n’s gonna snap at you one day, like completely just punch you in the face” jay once told him and ever since, he’s never looked at you the same
you think heeseung’s just intimidating, the amount of times you’ve jumped in your seat whenever he’s called your name is numerous
although, one day you fell asleep in class due to the fact you left your english essay last minute the night before
heeseung, noticing you drooling on the table, wrote down the notes for you
he handed them to you after class and you were so touched that you couldn’t stop telling sunoo about it
“his hand writing’s so neat and—” “i get it, you can shut up now!”
you even told heeseung his hand writing was the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen for a week straight
he was happy of course, but honestly unsure how he was supposed to reply to the compliment
he figured out by himself that all he needed to do was ask you if you wanted him to write your name
“heeseung, i mean it! i can’t get over how you write ‘the’, it’s just so— so neat!” “oh really? let me write your name out”
being the smooth guy that he was, wrote down his number instead of your name
and you being the oblivious person you were, ended up being utterly confused
“heeseung i think—” “I WROTE MY NUMBER ON PURPOSE”
you never really got over the shock, nonetheless still took his number and texted him that night
you ended that night by kicking your feet in the air with your face feeling like it was on fire
oh, you also ended up planning a date with heeseung on saturday, not a big deal
it was actually the biggest deal ever
the rest of the head canons are under the cut!
⌗ jay
jay was 100% the type to tease someone when he had a crush to get their attention
he wanted all your attention and the way he got that was through telling you your portrait of a dog looked stupid
well yeah, it did but he didn’t need to point it out
everyone in your art class knew jay had a raging crush on you
he just didn’t know how to express it
his friend jake told him the way into your heart was talking about a mutual interest
jake was, sort of, right about his advice. well, until you and jay started bickering about a character you loved but he oh so hated
“mabel in gravity falls was annoying and weird” “jay if you say that one more time i will shove this paint brush down your throat”
jake, who was trying to play cupid, could not understand why he was so bad at this
i mean jay had no problem getting girls to like him but you? did you genuinely hate jay or something?
“no jake i don’t hate jay” well that answered his question
“he’s just weird” “weird? i’m weird?” “yeah do i need to repeat it again? park jay is weird” you two were a match made in heaven
jay didn’t know when but he had a revelation, maybe this wasn’t the approach he should take to get your attention
after that, he started to be extremely nice to you
it definitely scared you
“d-did i do anything?” “what no? i’m just saying your painting looks beautiful y/n” “oh no something’s definitely going to happen”
he was finally tired of trying so hard while ending up with nothing achieved
jake, being the one out of the two who had the most realistic ideas, decided to give him one more tip
“do you think it’ll work?” “it’s fool proof”
the tip was simply him asking you out to the movies, something that was a little too forward for jay
“no i don’t think it’ll work jake” “jay i swear to god you are going to end up single For the Rest of your Life”
it took... many attempts... and many insults towards you for him to even get the first line out
“Y/NPLEASEGOTOTHEMOVIESWITHME” “the movies? sure” “wait, really? i meant it in a romantic way by the way” “oh? sure i’m free on friday”
turns out you were into him too i mean it was kinda obvious from the way you dealt with those insults
even when you started dating after that date, the insults never stopped
it just now targeted jake, who really is just asking for it at this point from the amount of times he’s asked for credit for ‘getting both of you together’
he was never getting that credit
⌗ jake
jake would leave secret love letters in your locker every time he walked past it
i mean the action wasn’t as secret as he thought it was due to the fact you knew he was the one leaving those letters
for god’s sake the boy was literally in almost all your classes, you were walking the same way as him when he slipped those letters in???
you still were very grateful for them
without them, i think you would of not coped with school
they were all incredibly detailed and even had little doodles drawn around them
you once had remembered he mentioned that he wrote these in the morning before school started during first period
he also told you he was really really shy you found it incredibly cute
the only way he could speak to you without melting was through these letters
somehow you decided that the best thing to do was put replies in his lockers too
his first reaction was complete embarrassment, the fact you knew who he was had his face heating up like nothing else
but he soon realised you didn’t think it was weird or creepy, you actually looked forward to his letters every school day
he mustered up so much courage after that to talk to you in person, to personally thank you
“THANK YOU Y/N!” “NO IT’S FINE JAKE YOU DON’T HAVE TO BOW”
he sheepishly rubs the back of his neck before pulling something out from his back pocket
the final letter in his series of love letters showing up in his hands
“open it” his shy smile making your brain Melt in endearment
the letter contained the usual, the hello y/n! and the usual chatter about his day
what you didn’t expect was the fact he had asked you out at the bottom of the letter
“y/n i’ve liked you for a while now, will you go out with me?” you read out loud before realising what you had just read. “OH MY GOD YOU ASKED ME OUT?”
you pull him into a tight hug, something that jake heated up at
“is this a yes?” “are you seriously asking that right now? of course we are”
you two became the most sickly sweet couple ever
plus the fact you still placed letters in each other’s lockers made enhypen gag (in an affectionate way)
they were just jealous nobody was putting letters in their lockers
⌗ sunghoon
sunghoon always seemed to be there whenever you needed help
especially since you two helped out at the library together every wednesday
he looked forward to it every week, you could tell from the fact ever tuesday he’d remind his friends that the next day he was seeing you again
“tomorrow’s wednesday you know what that means” “yes sunghoon we know, you’re seeing y/n tomorrow”
whenever he’s finished his work (which he does at an incredibly fast pace) he always seems to end up trailing you
constantly asking if you need help, desperate to do something
you find it endearing, always ending up chuckling at his whiney words
“y/n! do you need any help i’m finished” “not at the moment but if you wanna chat i can!”
out of all the enhypen members i feel like sunghoon would have the softest feelings for his crush
like even outside of your assigned library work, he’d constantly check up on you during lunch
“here y/n! it’s a packet of those gummies you like” “how sweet that you remembered! thanks for them”
you, even with sunghoon’s constant affection, couldn’t realise he had a crush on you
you thought that he was like that with everyone, you didn’t think that you were particularly special to get any type of unique treatment from park sunghoon
it wasn’t until your classmate asked you if you and sunghoon were dating
“hey are you and sunghoon dating?” “ummmm no why” “oh my friend wanted to know, they like him that’s why”
that didn’t sit well with you.
you thought long and hard about it but there was literally no reason for you to be bothered about it
i mean? you didn’t like him like that right
wrong
you decided to ask his dearest friend heeseung for help
“heeseung what do i do why do i feel like this” “i don’t know ask sunghoon” “...you aren’t helping”
heeseung being the big blabber mouth he is, told sunghoon all of this
“y/n won’t shut up about you” “really? you’re telling me the truth right? please don’t lie to me”
from many many uplifting comments from his friends, sunghoon was able to talk to you without mentioning the library
“so... what did you do in art class today?” “oh? i don’t do art” i mean at least he tried
after a few attempts he finally hit the nail on the head, securing his place as one of your friend... not the position he was aiming for but at least it was something
that’s when he prepared himself for the final boss (that’s what heeseung called the plan)
interrupting the conversation you both had on what disney show was the best, he popped the big question
“no but mulan was pretty good too also do you wanna go on a date with me” “oh sure! that was really random though”
i mean his timing was incredibly terrible but you were over the moon
even with the calm messages the both of you had sent, the two of you were screaming at your screen, unable to contain any composure
i mean it’s sunghoon... even if he handed you a piece of trash to as his way of asking you out you’d still say yes
⌗ sunoo
no but sunoo definitely asks your friend what your favourite song is and puts it on his story so you can slide up and be like “omg!! i love this song”
OH he also texts you randomly at 11:11 and 22:22 so you think it’s a sign
he so so so desperately wants your attention all the time
he goes up to you at lunch even when you’re with all your friends and makes conversation with you making you forget all about your friends
he sits in front of you in maths! so he knows how bad you are at the subject, he can hear your muttering about how you got a question wrong every morning but don’t Worry! he finds it adorable for some reason
at first he started to pretend he wouldn’t understand a question so he could find a way to talk to you
“hey y/n! whats six times five again” “are you serious?”
he’s actually kinda good at maths so you’re always confused on how he doesn’t understand basic multiplication but can get 90% on the algebra test
he loves, and i mean loves, talking to you during class
even if the teacher scolds him he doesn’t care, it’s simply the highlight of his day
he gets so pouty and jealous when you excuse him in the middle of a conversation to talk to someone else
he gets jealous especially whenever you talk to his friends instead of him
“hey ni-ki! what did you get for number five?” “oh i got—” “I GOT TWELVE FOR THAT ONE Y/N!”
you kinda adore it not gonna lie
at one point your teacher got incredibly fed up with you two talking class
so! sunoo resorted to passing notes to you
‘y/n did you hear? oh my god, jihan from the maths class beside us told me that yeojin from the year above us got suspended because she started fighting the teacher over her phone. can you believe that? i mean i would of done the same thing’
it was quite clear sunoo talked a lot even through notes too
i mean as if you didn’t reply with the same energy
‘I HEARD THAT TOO!! gowon from her class told me, plus! intak said he saw the whole thing too... omg honestly i think yeojin’s so cool for doing that. maybe i should fight our maths teacher if they try and yell at us for talking again?’
they were one of the many things sunoo loves you for <3
one day ni-ki, being the number one shipper of you two, decides to play Cupid on the two of you
he drew out a note that looked too similarly to a middle school confession text and placed it on sunoo’s desk
“do you like me y/n... tick one. yes. no.” “do you like it?” “what the fuck is this”
i mean sunoo Took it anyways, he knew you’d find it funny too
as usual, you prepared yourself for a long class of sliding notes to each other
you looked forward to it, you found it as a source of entertainment and you liked talking to sunoo anyways
“pssst, y/n!” “thanks— wait did you give me the right one?”
after many whisper shouts and glares from your teacher, he finally convinced you that they were the real deal
obviously. You chose yes
that’s how you landed a date with sunoo to a picnic at han river
sunoo and you were. Kinda.... thankful for ni-ki
you two just never wanted to admit his stupid cupid-ry worked
⌗ jungwon
definitely the type to ask you “what homework did we get?” so he can start a conversation with you
replies to your private story with like “omg that’s so funny” or like “PLSSSSS me too”
you do exactly the same with his ps honestly
he always talks to you before class and you have heated discussions about the homework the night before
YOU ALWAYS ALWAYS end up sitting beside him in every class you have together
like it’s not even on purpose anymore (it’s actually fate)
always lends you pens and pencils when you forget them
he also never Asks for them back so you Have like a stash of them at home beside your bed because you always forget to give them back to him
you and jungwon are the kids in pe class that walk around the track gossiping
“jake told me that half of the soccer team aren’t getting along these days because they all like the same person” “no way really? what about their team work, isn’t there some sort of huge match next week?”
the gossip only stays between you two but only ever during pe
you two talk about more, interesting things outside of pe
since you two are in basically every class together, you walk with him everywhere
once when you were about to trip over, jungwon caught you and when you realised you were in his arms, you just blankly stared at him for a good five seconds
once you got off of him your face started to heat up so fast jungwon’s too
every time you have homework due and you didn’t do it he lends you his word
“y/n take this! it’s the french homework from last class” “thanks so much jungwon!”
the real story starts with when you and him were practicing speaking french in the library
you, being terrible at french, needed some sort of help with this
jungwon decided that, even though he completely sucks at french, he should tutor you!
and there you were, ten reasons why i hate you style, in the library struggling on how to pronounce beaucoup
“bow-cewp” “good job y/n!” “jungwon i know for a fact that you don’t know if i’m saying this right”
you stuck up with it because, well because he’s jungwon
“je t'aime you”
i mean you were Terrible. at french but even the stupidest person in the world could figure that out
“i like you too jungwon, now help me with question six” “YOU COULD UNDERSTAND THAT?” “i had a paris phase when i was younger of course i did”
turns out the Parisian style bakery across the street is the perfect date on an afternoon after school
what was even more perfect was that you got 85% on your test with the help of your boyfriend
⌗ ni-ki
he was your partner in cookery class, the both of you had no cooking skills in your bones but you still made it work
you were in the class since your family constantly nagged at you for being terrible in the kitchen
while ni-ki enrolled because he needed the something to show his friends after school
ni-ki thinks he fell for you at first sight
you were baking cookies as your first task and you basically saved him by reminding him to put on oven gloves before getting the cookies out
“that’s the bare minimum” jay tells him. “i don’t care... you wouldn’t know what love feels like”
he looks forward to cooking class because if you every week
he even has it scheduled on his calendar
honestly it’s kind of a miracle the food you two make is some sort of eatable
he always asks you for help even if it’s the simplest thing ever
“y/n? which one is a cup?” “the one that literally says one cup?”
you don’t care though since you think it’s cute
you always end up doing most of the cooking and chopping whil ni-ki just washes the dishes and watches the pot boil which eagerly waits for the food to finish
you’ve met all of enhypen before since ni-ki likes them to gather around your creations and take pictures of them together
when enhypen first collected him from cookery class, they asked him which one of your classmates were you
he literally shyly pointed at you as he hid his face with his hair
“them” “huh? ni-ki who are you pointing at” “them, beside the fridge”
your final exam was to decorate and bake a cake
it’s safe to say from the many burnt cakes you and ni-ki have done, you two were in trouble
you both wanted that passing grade so you practiced almost everyday after classes the week before
he was in charge of the icing, apparently according to him it was his specialty
“look y/n!” “how cute! a little unreadable but very cute”
finally. the Day of the exam came
you both had to prepare and bake the cake together under two hours
you were lucky that you both weighed the ingredients before you arrived
it was definitely. The most stressful two hours you two had ever felt
it also didn’t help that ni-ki shooed you away when he was icing the cake
by the end of it, your face was Dusted with flour while ni-ki’s apron had butter and frosting stains all over it
you were instructed by ni-ki and even your teacher, to stand where the fridge was, out of your sight to see what he was doing to the cake
you were hazily scrolling through your phone when jungwon snapped you back into reality
turns out jungwon was outside the room the whole exam because ni-ki told him he needed support and having him there comforted him
almost instantly after your jungwon interaction, ni-ki called you from your table, excitedly waving his arms in the air
“y/n! y/n! i’m finished!” “perfect! let me—”
your eyes widened realising his cake didn’t say anything like ‘happy birthday’ like you two had planned
instead the icing spelt out a prettily written out ‘y/n, will you go on a date with me?’
your eyes seemed to water at the gesture, unsure why you got so emotional at icing
“n-ni-ki... that’s so c-cute” “why are you crying? oh my god you hate me don’t you?”
it took you ten minutes to stop sobbing (happy tears) and you gladly accepted his proposal
so now you got a Good grade and an amazing boyfriend that can... sort of! Cook
while eating the cake you were reminded with something, remembering some words from earlier
wait did mr lee know about this?
Cole Brookstone: Sweet Secrets
Warnings: Beware: Only fluff to be found here!
Disclaimer: I do not own ninjago nor the art posted. I only own my ideas/plot lines. All characters are written to be 18+
Summary: Cole has been going out in secret, the boys want to know what he's hiding, and Wu just wants to enjoy his tea in peace for once. (This oneshot in particular is going to be placed somwhere in between season 2 and 3)
~-~-~
It's safe to say that not many secrets are held between the ninja. Considering the fact that they need to entrust each other with their lives, there's just not much room for hiding things. Of course, everyone is entitled to their personal privacy however. Each of them have their own small things that they just don't talk about with the others.
For Lloyd, that happens to be his sweets stash under his bunk.
For Jay? His fear of spiders (Nya and Zane are totally the spider handlers of the group and no one can convince me otherwise.)
Kai, though he would never admit it, tends to dance and sing to Mariah Carey unironically (especially when the holidays are around).
Zane? It's not so much of a secret as it is an odd habit, but every so often he'll sit in the fridge and meditate for like an hour (cuz... ice powers? I guess??).
As for Cole, well, his secret is a little more significant...
That secret is you.
For all that he loves his brothers, he knows that they would not let him live it down if they found out he had a s/o. Teasing, wanting to meet you every time he goes out, it would never end. Besides that, he would have no problem letting you meet the others. The other reason he keeps you a secret is because of how many enemies he and the ninja have, the less people that know about you means the less chance someone will try to get to him through you.
You two met each other in grade school, your meeting was rather rocky (heh) at first, seeing as you had just moved to a new town and weren't exactly inclined to make new friends. One day however, there were some older kids from a higher class that started picking on you, Cole saw and helped you fight them off (verbally, since little kids aren't all that strong compared to tweens/preteens) and from there your friendship slowly formed.
Your relationship didn't take a romantic turn until you both went to Marty Oppenheimer School of Performing Arts, though Cole left a few months after entering, you two still kept in contact. While you both were in school though, nine times out of ten you two would end up as partners. (I absolutely adore the mental image of Cole lifting the reader during a piece.)
Like his father, he didn't tell you right away that he was a ninja, only when he came to your place to check on you after the Great Devourer attacked that you found out what he did for a living. Needless to say you had a minor panic at the fact that your boyfriend could get hurt at any second without you knowing. He managed to calm you down after a few minutes, though that doesn't stop you from checking him for any injuries any time he visits.
Seeing as he's usually either busy training, fighting crime, or teaching at Wu's academy its not often that he gets to see you. Today however is one of the rare times they're all visiting your village.
"We're here!" Nya called out as she caught sight of her friends near the outskirts of the village. All the ninja were relieved as they tried to catch their breath, it was a pretty decent hike from the school. That's not why they were so winded though, Wu had decided to make it a training exercise for long distance running (turned competition by the ninja excluding Nya and Wu, who took their time).
"Did we really have to walk all the way here? Taking the raider would have been a lot faster." Kai complained. As he approached the boys Wu started to speak.
"Faster perhaps, louder most definitely, besides, it would not fit all of us at once. Besides, hiking will increase your endurance that you all so apparently need, perhaps we should come here more often..." all the ninja (besides Cole) groaned at the idea. Wu continued as he started to walk closer to the village.
"In any case, try not to cause too much trouble would you? I don't wish to have to explain to the mason again how you all destroyed half his wares within a few minutes." ... Yeah, safe to say they were banned from going into certain shops after that. Wu continues to head off into the town. Nya turned to face the others after their master was out of sight.
"I have a few errands to run so I'll see you all later, bye!" She said as she walked in a different direction than their sensei. Cole glanced at the others, trying to figure out the best way to leave alone without arousing suspicion. Luckily Lloyd beat him to it however.
"I'm going to go visit the comi- er book store, meet back here at 5 like usual?" The others nodded their agreement and Lloyd left. Cole turned to head into the village, wanting to get to you as soon as possible.
"I'll cy'a guys later, I'v got someo- somewhere I need to be." He said as he ran off, the others glancing to each other.
"Does anyone else wonder where he goes every time we come here? He always takes off before we can ask!" Jay exclaimed. Kai opened his mouth to say something when Zane replied.
"Cole is entitled to go where he wants though, perhaps he just doesn't wish to be late for something?" Kai raised a brow at the nindroid and shook his head.
"Nah, if it was something like that then he'd tell us, it's probably something embarrassing like hula lessons.." Jay turned to the group as they all imagined what Cole could possibly be doing, now curious.
"I say we tail him! If he won't confess then we'll just have to find out ourselves!" He said as he pumped his fists. Zane tilted his head a bit with a questioning glance.
"Wouldn't that be an invasion of privacy? It's not a crime to go places without us."
"He does this every time we're here though, aren't you at least a little bit curious?" Kai retorted.
"Well... I suppose it wouldn't hurt.." Zane still wasn't sure on the idea.
"Think of it like a training exercise, we'd have to be able to sneak up on another ninja!" Zane sighed but finally relented and nodded towards the direction Cole rushed off in.
"We best hurry then, we don't want to lose him before we even find out his destination." Jay and Kai fist bumped and they all took off after Cole, doing their best not to be seen by the older ninja.
~-~-~
You had just gone down to the kitchen when you heard your door being unlocked. Quickly you turned your head towards the sound and see your boyfriend coming through the door. You grinned and ran over to him, hugging him tight as he spun you around a bit.
"You're here!" Cole chuckled as he set you down, you tilted your head slightly and brought him into a kiss, one he quickly reciprocated. You pulled away and grinned at him, pulling him into your home.
"Of course I am, I can't just stop by the village and not say hi to my wonderful partner!" Your grin didn't fade, but softened into a smile as you studied your boyfriend. Even after all this time, you still can't help but want to make sure he's not hurt when he visits.
"I'm glad you're here, you have good timing too! I was just about to make lunch." As if on queue, his stomach growled, empty from the hike earlier.
"Sounds good, want any help?" He gave you a pleading look, the kind you would normally give in to if your kitchen wasn't at stake.
"Hmm well I haven't chopped up the vegetables yet if you want to help out with that?" Cole smiled, it's been a while since you let him help you cook, even if it wasn't really cooking, since the last time you let him near a pot he managed to burn water somehow.
"Aye Aye Captain." He gave a mock solute as you both set to work.
~-~-~
Meanwhile, Jay, Kai, and Zane stood on a nearby roof, not close enough that you two could hear them but just enough to where they could see what just transpired. Jay dropped his mouth open in shock, Kai's eyes were wide as they watched you bring Cole inside. Zane's reaction, while a lot more tame, you could definitely tell he was surprised.
"Cole.... Cole has a girlfriend?!" Kai quickly put his hand over Jay's mouth.
"Shhh, not so loud! Someone will hear us, the last thing we need is Sensei having to bail us out of jail because someone think's we're stalkers." Kai hisses. Jay gets out of Kai's hold as Zane raises a brow. Somewhere in the distance, an older man is sitting in a cafe drinking his tea when he gets a sudden chill.
"Isn't what we're currently doing considered stalking?"
"No we're just... looking out for our brother! That's all there is to it." Jay defended.
"Even still, it seems we are invading something private, perhaps we should head back?" Zane suggested. The others looked back at the house one last time before Kai sighed for a second.
"Fine you're right, lets get out of here, I think the arcade is still open." The group of three stood up and abandoned their previous post, heading towards the center of town.
~-~-~
You and Cole finished lunch fairly quickly, breakfast burritos complete with eggs, bacon, and (extras of your choice). After eating you two headed into the living room and Cole started to set up (favorite movie). You sat on the couch and Cole sat next to you, he leaned down and laid his head in your lap. He gave you a gentle smile as you started to run your hands through his hair, one of the things you know he enjoys.
The movie ended all too soon, not that you minded, you'd seen it many times already. You looked up at the clock on a nearby wall, 4:37 it read. You look down and see that Cole had fallen asleep, you didn't really want to wake him up but you knew he had to leave to meet up with his team. Your hand moved from his hair to his arm as you gently moved your hand up and down his arm, slowly rousing him from sleep.
This was his favorite way to wake up, with you next to him, gracing him with the gentle smile he so loved. He didn't want to leave, but he knew he had to or the others would wonder where he was. He slowly got up and brought you closer to him, his hand brushed your cheek as he drew you in. You two shared a kiss, one that you both poured all the love you could into, knowing you wouldn't see each other for a while.
He pulled back and held you for a few minutes before you both stood up and you walked him to the door.
"I'll come back as soon as I can, alright?" you nodded, understanding that his responsibility to the team comes first more often than not.
"I'll be here waiting for you." reaching your hand out you lightly gripped his shirt and gently pulled him towards you, kissing one last time before he left. A moment later, you two broke away and he gave you a smile that you returned. Then, he backed up and made his way back to the meeting point, but not before looking back and winking at you with a grin on his face. You chuckled as you shook your head and closed the door, heading back into the house to continue on with your day.
The moments you have with Cole may not be often, but you loved and cherished every second of them, and you know he does aswell.
Extra:
"Come on!!" Kai yelled out as he once again drifted into the dirt to the right of him.
"Haha! I have you now!" Jay's cart zoomed past Kai's as he swiftly took 1st place at the last second. Kai looked at Jay, disgruntled.
"I let you win." he said while Jay snickered.
"Suuure, what ever helps you sleep at night." Zane smiled at his two brothers, looking to Kai
"I believe the appropriate term is, "You just got smoked."" Jay burst out laughing as Kai gave him and Zane a withering glare.
"I hate you both."
"You know you love us!"
once again i am answering asks in a big compilation post. included is... gotham, patrick stump, tips about drawing backgrounds, tips about drawing in general, links to my faq, and infinity train
Tumblr media
like.... the tv series? No... I’ve drawn dc comics fanart before, though. But it’s been years since I’ve been really into it. I like jumped ship like 10 years ago when the New 52 happened LOL.
Tumblr media
AFJHDSLKGH I’m sorry I (probably) won’t do it again??
Actually full disclosure I have a truly cringe amount of p stump drawings/photo studies in my sketchbook right now LOL. He’s just fun to draw... hats, glasses, guitar, a good shape... but I don’t think I’ll rly post those until I can hide them in another big sketchbook pdf.. probably Jan 2022. Stay tuned........ (ominous)
(ominous preview)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are all sort of related to backgrounds/painting so I grouped them together even though they’re pretty much entirely separate questions.... ANYWAYS
a) How is it working as a BG artist? Is it hard? What show are you drawing for?
I think you’re the first person to ever ask me about my job! Being a background artist is great. It’s definitely labor intensive but I think that could describe pretty much any art job (If something were rote or easy to automate, you wouldn’t hire an artist to do it) and I hesitate to say whether its harder or easier than any other role in the animation pipeline. Plus, so much of what truly makes a job difficult varies from one production to the next, schedule, working environment, co-workers etc. But I will say that I think while BGs are generally a lot of work on the upfront, I think they’re subject to less scrutiny/revisions than something like character/props/effects design and you don’t have to pitch them to a room like boards. So I guess it’s good if you don’t like to talk to people? LOL
A lot of my previous projects + the show I’ve worked on the longest aren’t public yet so I can’t talk about em (but I assure you if/when the news does break I won’t shut up about it). But I’m currently working on Archer Season 12 LOL. I’m like 90% sure I’m allowed to say that.
b) ~~~THANK YOU!! ~~~
c) What exactly do you like to draw most [in a background]?
@kaitomiury Lots of stuff! I really like to draw clutter! Because it’s a great opportunity for environmental storytelling and also you can be kind of messy with it because the sheer mass will supersede any details LOL.
I like to draw clouds... I like to draw grass but not trees lol,,, I like to draw anything that sells perspective really easily like tiled floors and ceilings, shelves, lamp posts on a street etc.
d) Do you have any tips on how to paint (observational)?
god there’s so much to say. painting is really a whole ass discipline like someone can paint their whole life and still discover new things about it. I guess if you’re really just starting out my best advice is that habit is more important than product. especially with traditional plein air painting, I find that the procedure of going outside and setting up your paints is almost harder than the actual painting. There’s a lot of artists who say “I want to do plein air sometime!!” and then never actually get around to doing it. A lot of people just end up working from google streetview or photos on their computer.
But going outside to paint is a really good challenge because it forces you to make and commit to lighting and composition decisions really quickly. And to work through your mistakes instead of against them via undo button.
My last tip is to check out James Gurney’s youtube channel because hes probably the best and most consistent resource on observational painting out there rn. There’s lots other artists doing the same thing (off the top of my head I know a lot of the Warrior Painters group has people regularly posting plein air stuff and lightbox expo had a Jesse Schmidt lecture abt it last year) but Gurney’s probably the most prolific poster and one of the best at explaining the more technical stuff - his books are great too.
e) Do you have tips for drawing cleanly on heavypaint?
@marigoldfool UMM LOL I LIKE ONLY USE THE FILL TOOL so maybe use the fill tool? Fill and rectangle are good for edge control as opposed to the rest of the heavy paint tools which can get sort of muddles. And also I use a stylus so maybe if you’re using your finger, find a stylus that works with your device instead. That’s all I’ve got, frankly I don’t think my drawings are particularly clean lol.
f) Tips on improving backgrounds/scenes making them more dynamic practicing etc?
Ive given some tips about backgrounds/scenes before so I’m not gonna re-tread those but here’s another thing that might be helpful...
I think a good way to approach backgrounds is to think of the specific story or even mood you want to convey with the background first. Thinking “I just need to put something behind this character” is going to lead you to drawing like... a green screen tourist photo backdrop. But if you think “I need this bg to make the characters feel small” or “I need this bg to make the world feel colorful” then it gives you requirements and cues to work off of.
Tumblr media
If I know a character needs to feel overwhelmed and small, then I know I need to create environment elements that will cage them in and corner them. If a character needs to feel triumphant/on top of the world then I know I need to let the environment open up around them. etc. If I know my focal point/ where I want to draw attention, I can build the background around that.
Also, backgrounds like figure compositions will have focal points of their own and you can draw attention to it/ the relationship the characters have with the bg element via scale or directionality or color, any number of cues. I think of it almost as a second/third character in a scene.
Tumblr media
Not every composition is gonna have something so obvious like this but it helps me to think about these because then the characters feel connected and integrated with the environment.
Tumblr media
Some more general art questions
a) Do you have any process/tips to start drawing character/bodies/heads?
I tried to kind of draw something to answer this but honestly this is difficult for me to answer because I don’t think I’m that great at drawing characters LOL. Ok, I think I have two tips.
1) flip your canvas often. A lot about what makes human bodies look correct and believable is symmetry and balance. Even if someone has asymmetrical features, the body will often pull and push in a way to counterbalance it. we often have inherent biases to one side or another like dominant hands dominant eyes etc. you know how right-handed artists will often favor drawing characters facing 45 degrees facing (the artist’s) left? that’s part of it. so viewing your drawing flipped even just to evaluate it helps compensate for that bias and makes you more aware of balance.
2) draw the whole figure often. I feel like a lot of beginner artists (myself included for a long time) defer to just drawing headshots or busts because it’s easier, you dont have to think about posing limbs etc. But drawing a full body allows you to better gauge proportion, perspective, body language, everything that makes a character look believable and grounded.
Like if you (me) have that issue where you draw the head too big and then have to resize it to fit the proportions of the rest of the body, it’s probably because you (I) drew the head first and are treating the body as an afterthought/attachment. Sketching out the whole figure first or even just quick drawing guides for it will help you think of it more holistically. I learned this figure drawing in charcoal at art school LOL.
Tumblr media
oh. third mini tip - try to draw people from life often! its the best study. if you can get into a figure drawing/nude drawing class EVEN BETTER and if you have a local college/art space/museum that hosts those for free TREASURE IT AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT, that’s a huge boon that a lot of artists (me again) wish they had. though if youre not so lucky and youre sitting in a park trying to creeper draw people and they keep moving.. don’t let that stop you! that’s good practice because it’s forcing you to work fast to get the important stuff down LOL. its a challenge!
b) I’ve been pretty out of energy and have had no inspiration to draw but I have the desire to. Any advice?
Dude, take a walk or something.... Or a nap? Low energy is going to effect everything else so you gotta hit that problem at its source.
If you’re looking for inspiration though, I’d recommend stuff like watching a movie, reading a book, playing video games etc. Fill up your idea bank with content and then give yourself time/space to gestate it into new concepts. Sometimes looking at other art works but sometimes it can work against you because it’s too close.
Also something that helps me is remembering that art doesn’t always have to be groundbreaking... like it’s okay to make something shitty and stupid that you don’t post online and only show to your friend. That’s all part of the process imo. If you want to hit a home run you gotta warm up first, right? Sports.
I should probably compile everytime i give tips on stuff like this but that’s getting dangerously close to being a social media artist who makes stupid boiled down art tutorials for clout which is the last thing i want to be... the thing I want to stress is that art is a whole visual language and there are widely agreed upon rules and customs but they exist in large part to be broken. Like there's an infinite number of ways to reach an infinite number of solutions and that’s actually what makes it really cool and personal for both the artist and the viewer. So when you make work you like or you find someone else’s work you like, take a step back and ask yourself what about it speaks for you, what about it works for you, what makes it effective, how to recreate that effect and how to break that effect completely, etc. And have a good time with it or else what’s the point.
Tumblr media
for the first 2, I direct you to my FAQ
For the last one, I don’t actually believe I’ve ever addressed artwork as insp for stories/rp but I’ll say here and now yeah go ahead! As long as you’re not making profit or taking credit for my work then I’m normally ok with it. Especially anything thats private and purely recreational, that’s generally 100% green light go. I only ask that if you post it anywhere public that you please credit me.
(and I reserve the right to ask you to take it down if I see it and don’t approve of it’s use but I think that case is pretty rare.)
Tumblr media
a) @lemuelzero101 Thank you!!! I haven’t played Life is Strange but actually  that series’ vis dev artist Edouard Caplain is one of my bigger art inspirations lately so that’s a really high compliment lol. And yeah I hope we get 5-8 too...!
b) Thank you for sticking around! I’ve been thinking about Digimon and Infinity Train in tandem lately, actually. They’re a little similar? Enter a dangerous alternate world and have wacky adventures with monsters/inanimate objects that have weird powers... there’s like weird engineers and mechanisms behind the scenes... also frontier literally starts with them getting on a train. Anyways if anyone else followed me for digimon... maybe you’d like Infinity Train? LOL
c) @king-wens-king I’M GLAD MY ART JUST HAS PINOY VIBES LOL I hope you are having a good day too :^)
Tumblr media
a, b, c, d) yessss my Watch Infinity Train agenda is working....
e) aw thank you!! i think you should watch infinity train :)
Draco Malfoy and the Parent Trap (headcanons)
Request: hc for scorpius trying to get his father back together with his dada teacher a while after his mother passing because he wanted his father to be happy and he found out reader used to be his school sweetheart before things got in their way? - anon
A/N: This is a fairly long headcanon and for that, I apologise! I had so much fun with this though! I’ve split this into sections like how I would a full length fic otherwise it’s too hard to follow, in my opinion.
Warnings: female reader, mischief and mishaps, kissing, fluff, humour, mentions of death, past relationships.
Tumblr media
Scorpius Malfoy loved his mother; he adored his mother, but even he could no longer deny that she was not coming back.
Astoria Malfoy had died, and she was not coming back.
It had been years since her passing and whilst Scorpius missed her every single day, he could not ignore the fact that his father needed to meet someone new.
-------
Draco Malfoy adored his wife; he would give up his soul to have her back in his arms where he could love her as wholly as he had when she was alive. If he had possession of the resurrection stone, he knew who he would bring back, he didn't care whether it would change her - he would have her back.
However, Draco Malfoy was lonely. He missed his wife, but he also missed the companionship of a relationship. He missed going to bed and having someone there when he woke up wishing him a good morning.
He yearned to have someone to hold; someone to love; someone to care for.
Draco Malfoy simply wanted someone.
-------
Scorpius didn't really have a favourite class; he enjoyed them all as he loved learning, but he found himself drawn to Defence Against the Dark Arts when you took over as Professor, breathing new life into the subject.
“Scorpius!” You call, smiling widely as the blonde ambles over to you. “Well done! I haven't seen spell casting like that since I last saw your father.”
“You knew my father?” Scorpius asks you, shocked at the admission.
“We were very close for a time,” You admit, feeling your face flush as the teenager looks on confused, “But we drifted apart.”
“What was he like back then?” Scorpius asks before he can help himself, “Dad doesn't speak a lot about his time at Hogwarts; he says his life began when he met my mother.”
You laugh, pressing a hand to your chest. “I understand why he would say that; he always was the romantic. I was sorry to hear of her passing; I remember when she attended Hogwarts.”
“Thank you,” Scorpius whispers quietly; a new wave grief washing over him as he meets another person who0 had known his mother.
“You’re the spitting image of your father. How is he?” You ask, needing to know.
“He’s okay. He’s lonely,” Scorpius admits, “He misses my mother.”
“As he should,” You state, nodding solemnly. “He always was serious. Even in school; I could very rarely get him to take a night off and have some fun.”
Scorpius smiles at the image conjured in his mind; the teenaged version of his father causing mayhem around the castle - it just didn't seem true. Scorpius sighs when he glances at the clock. “I’ll see you next time, Professor.”
“Bye, young Malfoy,” You laugh, thinking back to a time when a blonde haired teenager had been the centre of your universe.
------
Scorpius brings up the subject at lunch, asking Albus and Rose whether they knew anything of it.
Albus shrugs, sipping at his water before shaking his head. Rose frowns, tapping her chin with her finger. “I remember hearing my parents talk about it,” She murmurs, seeming far off as if in a distant memory.
“What did they say?” Scorpius all but demands, perching on the edge of his seat.
Rose’s eyes brighten as the conversation comes back to her. “I remember!” She all but cries, “They were discussing Professor (Y/L/N)’s appointment as our professor - they knew her at Hogwarts, you see.”
“Anything else?” Scorpius presses, already aware of such knowledge.
“My dad spoke about how he could never believe that someone like Professor (Y/L/N) would date your dad.”
“WHAT?” Scorpius shouts; not out of the slight insult to his father, but the fact that his Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher used to date his father and neither said a word about it. “They dated?!”
Rose shrugs, reaching for her drink. “They must have if my parents were talking about it. I don't know how long for, but both my parents said it was the nicest they had seen your father act.”
Scorpius frowns at Rose’s words but does not comment; instead, he wonders about his father, overworking himself at St Mungo’s so he doesn't have to come home to an empty house.
“Scorp,” Albus sings, interrupting Scorpius’ worrying, “I have an idea.”
“What is that?” Scorpius asks warily; these ideas never ended well.
“You were talking about wanting your father to find love again... and here you are being educated by on elf his exes.”
“Okay?”
“Set them up you fool!”
“Oh!” Scorpius gasps, seeing the plan fall into place right before his eyes.
“Alright,” He concedes, “But I’ll need your help.”
-----
The plan gets put into motion the following week.
Scorpius approaches you at the end of Thursday’s lesson, a sheepish look on his face.
“You know your father had the same expression when he messed up,” You snort, “What did you do?”
“It’s not so much what I did, but what my father would like to hear.”
“Pardon?”
“My father wrote to me yesterday asking if he could have an early report of my progress in school. Since you already know him, I thought - if you don't mind, that is - you would write to him first, update him on DADA?”
You roll your eyes. “Of course, Scorpius. I’ll write a report his evening and send it with the owls tomorrow morning.”
“Thank you!” Scorpius exclaims; eyes wide with happiness as the first stage of the plan falls into place.
-----
Stage One: set up communication.
Draco had never sent his son a letter asking for his progress so far; Draco never rushed for academic excellence, he was simply happy with Scorpius’ best.
However, the report would hopefully open up a line of communication between the exes which would in turn lead to something more.
-------
Owl Post arrives only once a day so it isn't until Saturday that Scorpius hears back from his father.
He opens his letter with barely restrained glee; Albus and Rose watching on curiously.
Inside the weighty envelope, Scorpius finds your progress report of his work in DADA but also an attached note from his father:
“Scorpius, you do not need to feel pressured to send me reports. I know you’ll try your best in every subject. You will do well with (Y/N) teaching you. She was a genius at this subject when I was at school.”
Scorpius freezes for a moment; running a finger over his father’s handwriting as he is hit with a keen sense of absence. He didn't get homesick often, but right now, he misses his father more than words could say.
Albus reads over the letter, Rose follows. The three sit in silence as they think of their next move. Rose comes up with the idea.
“Your dad needs to reply to Professor (Y/L/N). It would look rude if he did not.”
Scorpius nods; reaching into his bag for a piece of parchment and his quill. He scrawls a quick reply to his father:
“Dad, I just thought you would appreciate the update. I hope you replied to Professor (Y/L/N), it would be rude to not have given that she took the time to write to you.”
His reply is sent in the afternoon when he treks up the Owlery, feeds a postal owl before offering up his letter to be returned to Draco. Scorpius had even tucked Professor (Y/L/N)’s original letter in the envelope so his father did not forget what she had written.
As Scorpius watches the owl fly away, he wonders whether this plan will ever work.
-----
Time passes and Scorpius begins to wonder whether the plan is working.
He watches you in lessons; notices that you seem a little brighter, that there is a little glow about you when you smile.
And Scorpius cannot help but wonder whether his father did reply and that the both of you were keeping in touch.
The hope that unfurls in his chest at the thought if his father happy again is what makes him pray to Merlin for it all to work out.
-----
It’s a Friday afternoon, weeks into the plan, when you approach Scorpius.
“Scorpius, may I talk to you for a moment?”
“Yes, Professor.”
“I’m not sure if your father had made you aware or whether he was keeping it a surprise, but he’s coming to the school tomorrow.”
Scorpius’ face goes slack at your words.
Draco had never come to the school; had not wanted to come after the second wizarding war and for good reason too. For Draco to be stepping foot back into the place he so strongly thinks hates him, there must be a powerful reason.
“Why?” is all Scorpius asks.
You fiddle with your fingers before replying. “He sent me a letter letting me know he would be coming to see you, but to also catch up with me. You don’t mind, do you? I know this could be strange for you. I’ll happily cancel if you want to spend the whole day with your father.”
The hope that had been hiding away just behind his heart begins to bloom in his chest as he takes in the hopeful expression on your face. It's then that Scorpius realises that you don't want to cancel on his father, but you would for him. It’s then that Scorpius realises that his father might just be ready for moving on.
“I don't mind at all,” He answers, finding his words truthful. “You and my father have a lot to catch up on.”
“That we do,” You laugh before smiling genuinely at the teenager, “Thank you, Scorpius.”
Scorpius smiles; grabbing his belongings and making his way out of the classroom. Stage two of the plan had begun with Scorpius even realising.
He knows exactly what he needs to do tomorrow.
-----
Scorpius barely sleeps all night for thinking of it.
He’s up with the sun and the first to breakfast as he waits for his father's arrival.
He remains sitting in the Great Hall when he begins to wonder just exactly where his father is. It was long past the time of his arrival.
It’s then that Scorpius decides to wander to the DADA classroom.
He finds Draco there in quiet conversation with you; sitting close together on the desks, hands so close touching that it almost pains Scorpius to look.
He realises then how well you fit together; how you both balance each other out when you snort at something Draco says, reaching out to show his shoulder playfully. Scorpius cannot remember a time when he saw his father have fun; have a joke with someone.
Heads bent close together, Scorpius catches the glimpse of an indulgent smile on his father’s face and it's then that Scorpius knows that his father has found another person to love.
Scorpius thought it would hurt, to see his father with another, but it doesn't. Instead, Scorpius feels relief that his father might not be so alone forever.
An idea pops into Scorpius’ mind.
Gathering his courage, Scorpius reaches for the door handle, and slams the door shut loudly.
He covers his mouth to quash the laughter that bubbles at the sound of your surprised yelp.
He quickly casts a locking charm on the door, remembering an advanced one taught to him by Rose whose mother had taught it to her.
“Let us out!” You yell, shaking the door handle and banging on the door.
“Not yet!” He shouts back with a smile.
“Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy!” Draco shouts, “Let us out right now!”
“Not until you get your act together!”
“What?”
“You can't come out until you admit your feelings!”
And with that, the voices on the other side of the door fall silent and Scorpius sits himself across the corridor from the entrance to the classroom.
-----
Draco shakes his head at the audacity of his son.
You press a hand to your mouth to stop the laughter from leaving.
“It’s not funny!” Draco laments.
“It kinda is,” You admit, “Your son could see something neither of us could.”
“What?”
“Draco, you would have to be half blind to not see my feelings for you.”
“What?” The blonde repeats, once again struck dumb.
You shrug, “We’ve been talking for a while and I thought there was something there. At least, there is something there on my end.”
“It’s been so long,” He whispers, closing his eyes against the wave of emotions washing over him.
Draco feels nothing but conflict; he can no longer ignore the rising affection he has for you, but with every sting of it, he’s reminded of Astoria.
“I’m not asking to replace her,” You whisper, drawing your hands up to your chest as if protecting the already breaking heart. “I know I could never do that.”
Opening his eyes, Draco sees the stricken expression on your face and hates that he’s the cause for it. “I miss having someone there,” He admits quietly, “I miss having someone.”
“I could be that someone,” You state.
“I want you to be that someone,” Draco admits, pulling your hands from your chest, holding them gently in his own. “I want you.”
A watery smile breaks across your face as Draco drops on elf your hands to caress your cheek. “A new chapter,” You whisper, leaning into his touch.
“A new chapter,” Draco promises, ducking his head to kiss you.
------
Scorpius Malfoy misses his mother every day. He knows that she will always be with him, but he misses her nonetheless.
However, he cannot ignore how happy he is for his father to have found someone to love again.
The Bargain Pt 5 | Feysand
Modern AU. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 6
Rhys hadn't seen Feyre in a year.
He knew that, because his social media sent him a reminder that he had posted a photo of her finished tattoo a year ago, and he had not heard from her since.
Not that she had any obligation to contact him, of course. In fact, this was why he made the six month rule with his clients- he knew how easy it was to become attached to someone who you have been vulnerable around. And he didn't want to influence anyone like that, particularly not Feyre, who seemed to be having a tough enough time as it was. So although he thought about her often, after she left the shop that last time, for the most part he tried to let her fade into a pleasant memory, and not to dwell too much on whether she was okay out in the world.
But Rhys knew he'd never forget Feyre, because after she was gone he had actually started to paint again. Had locked the door of the studio behind her, arrived back at his apartment and stayed up all night with his crusty old oil set. Paper had never been particularly interesting to him, so he had painted his coffee table. Swirls and eddies of colour like Feyre had drawn on his arm in the gaps between his black line tattoos.
Over the next few weeks, Rhys' plain and understated flat became a frenzy of line and pattern and colour. He started posting photos on his instagram and to his great surprise, they garnered more attention than some of his better performing tattoo posts. He was even commissioned to paint shop fronts and feature walls in restaurants.
By the end of the year, Rhys was still in the studio most of the time but spent a week out of every month painting murals around the country, like he had always wanted to do. So no, he would not be forgetting Feyre, ever.
In May, Rhys got a contract in Berlin. It was one that he was slightly apprehensive about, since apparently it was a team effort and he didn't have much experience collaborating. He didn't love the idea that several people who had never met would be trying to create something cohesive in a short amount of time. On the other hand, it was an all-expenses paid trip and he was about due for a holiday.
Rhys landed in Berlin early in the morning, and had a couple of hours to kill before his meeting. He spent some time wandering around the strangely grey, concrete world, and found these amazing rainbow bursts popping up unexpectedly on street corners and in alleyways. Rhys found he rather liked it.
When eventually he walked through the tall glass doors of the building he'd been directed to, Rhys wondered about the team he'd be working with. There were a number of very well respected German street artists, and if he had to collaborate, he hoped it would be someone who he might recognise.
He was utterly unprepared to walk into the room and see Feyre sitting at the table, deep in conversation with a man with dark skin and white hair.
"Ah, here he is. Feyre, this is Rhys," the man said, while Rhys stood with one hand still on the door handle and gaped.
Shock registered on Feyre's face, but then it settled into an easy, broad daylight grin.
"Thank you Tarquin, we've actually met." Feyre's fingers trailed over her tattoo as she spoke, not taking her eyes from Rhys'. "Remember me?" she asked, with a little tilt of her head.
"I, uh, yeah of course I do," Rhys said. "I wasn't expecting to see you here." "Nor I you," she said.
"Rhys, good to meet you in person," Tarquin said, extending a hand. "I know we've only spoken on the phone before now, and I'm so glad you could come over for this project."
Rhys shook the contractor's hand, and settled into the chair that was pulled out for him. He nodded and smiled at Tarquin, but then found his gaze snapping back to Feyre like a magnet. A rose petal blush stole over her cheeks.
"I am so excited to finally have the two of you here," Tarquin said. His voice was slightly accented, and very warm. "As you know from the brief, my company has just settled its headquarters here in Berlin and we want a summer themed mural."
"I'm sorry," Rhys interrupted. "It's just the two of us?" Tarquin nodded. "Originally I wanted a whole team of artists, but then we redid the budget and it was decided we'd just hire two." "I'm curious, you have so many wonderful artists here in Berlin, why did you fly us out from New York?"
"Actually," Feyre said. "I live in Berlin now." Rhys blinked. "Oh," was all he could think to say.
Tarquin prattled on for another forty minutes about his company, the 'feel' they were going for, their target audience and so on. When Tarquin had first approached Rhys, Rhys was genuinely interested in his work but now that Feyre was here sitting opposite him, he couldn't take in a damn word. Couldn't even remember what he already knew about the business, just sat there wondering what had happened in the year since he had last seen Feyre.
How was she? Was she still with that whatshisname boyfriend? Had she been tattooed by anyone else this year?
Finally Tarquin stopped talking and told them he'd take them on a tour of the building, show them the mural site, and then let them settled in. He stepped out to take a phone call, and left them with a mood board he had collated for the painting. Then Rhys was left alone with Feyre.
And for the life of him didn't know what to say to her.
He just sat there, swallowed, and tried to stop staring at her. She noticed, and blushed.
"What are you looking at?" Feyre said, looking down self-consciously. A curl fell over her face. "I'm sorry," Rhys said. "I just didn't expect to see you." "Me neither," Feyre told him. "I mean, I moved cities, I moved continents and yet here you are."
Rhys nodded. "Here I am." He cleared his throat. "So ah, when did you guys move over?" "Just a few months ago," Feyre said. "And it's just me. I broke up with Tamlin." She shifted in her seat. "You were right. It got worse, and then better." "Oh, good," Rhys said. "I mean- not good, I'm sorry to hear that."
Feyre laughed. "No," she said. "It is good. And I'm really enjoying living here. I can't believe you're here." "I thought I'd never see you again," Rhys said. Feyre's eyes flickered. "You thought about seeing me?" she asked.
Now it was Rhys' turn to colour. "I... I just wondered if you might get in contact later in the year. You know, let me know how your tattoo's healing and all. Is it alright?"
"It's great," Feyre said, holding out her arm for Rhys to inspect. "I know I said I might call, but I just couldn't," she confessed. "As the months went on I got so embarrassed."
Rhys cocked his head. "Why?" he asked. "Because I had such a crush on you!" Feyre said. "And I bet every girl you tattoo falls in love with you, I didn't want to be one of them." She laughed, and looked away. Rhys just stared at her.
"You... had a crush...?" he started to ask, but then Tarquin breezed back into the room.
"Sorry folks!" he said. "Important call, but terribly rude of me. Now. Let's get on with that tour huh?"
And then he ushered them out of the room, and didn't leave them until they were all saying goodbye and Feyre was heading toward home in one direction and Rhys was going to his hotel in the other.
No matter. They had all week to get reacquainted.
Thank you so much to everyone who has been commenting, I've been astounded by the love you guys have been giving this story and I appreciate you all very dearly!! I thought it would be a little niche one, I wrote it because I like art and tattoos, and I really didn't think it would do this well. Would love to know what's working for you, so I can keep bringing it to you :)
Marinette Dupain-Cheng’s Spite Playlist: Remix CH28
What does Chloe have in store for Marinette? Find out next week! As I stated on AO3, once I post chapter 30, I’m going to take another month off to let my betas finish up the last few chapters, then in October if we are all finished, I will be posting two chapters a week on Mondays and Fridays to finish this story out. It’s been a long journey rewriting it, but I’m much happier with the outcome this time. I hope you’re all excited to see the rest of the changes to this story. I know I can’t wait to share them!
Previous    First     Next      AO3
------------------------------------------------
Chapter 28: End Game
Morning light streamed through the window, casting golden rays across Marinette’s cheeks. The urgent screech of her alarm blared on the shelf above her head, vibrating the loft in its tantrum. She blinked, then immediately squeezed her eyes shut again, sitting up out of the sun. Kicking the blankets from around her legs, she palmed for her phone, clumsily tapping the screen with a yawn. Sleep had eluded her most of the night for more reasons than one, and the previous day’s events replayed on loop as she slogged through her morning routine.
Had all of it really happened? The museum, her old friends, the akuma, Emerald Shell, Lila… And she’d gone to Chloe of all people for help. When had she fallen so low? And how long did Marinette have to be on this rollercoaster? Wasn’t there an emergency exit she could use?
She splashed water on her face, leaning against the sink with a sigh. Not all of it was bad at least. She and Adrien got to spend the evening together, though the sweetness diminished as a result of the afternoon’s events. Even still, there were worse ways to end a trying day than being spoon-fed chocolate mousse by the boy of her dreams.
Marinette stared at her reflection, droplets dripping from her chin like the countless tears she’d cried the past month. So much had changed since she left. Her face still looked the same, but the girl inside was different than the one who walked out of Francoise-Dupont a month ago. Her eyes carried a new determination.
Lila had gone too far, and Marinette wasn’t going to stand for it anymore. Starting today, everything was going to change.
“Marinette! You’re going to be late for school!” her mother called up the stairs.
Marinette dried her face and slipped on her blazer.
“Coming!”
Things were normal at school. People were buzzing about the latest akuma and the appearance of Emerald Shell. Martin held his head a little higher, though his cheeks never lost their rosy hue, especially when Macy gushed about how Emerald Shell saved her. It wasn’t until art class that they realized Marinette was being unusually quiet.
“How did things go with Adrien?” Eliott asked, looking up from the fruit bowl they were all painting.
“Adrien was fine,” Marinette said. “It was Lila I had to worry about.”
“Still?” Macy winced. “What happened?”
“It’s a long story…” Marinette sighed, wiping her brush on a rag.
“We’ve got a whole hour.” Martin pointed out, and they all looked at Marinette expectantly.
Marinette smiled, reassured by their eagerness. They really were the best friends in the world. She took a deep breath before diving in, and her friends listened to every detail intently.
“Whoa, she really did that to you?” Lisette asked when she finished. “And I thought Gabrielle was awful.”
“Lila is an attention-seeking manipulator, and she crushes anyone who gets in her way,” Marinette said bitterly. “I hate to drag you guys into this—mostly because I barely want to be dragged into this—but-”
“Oh, we’ll totally help,” Macy said. “If there’s one thing rich people love to do it’s brag about our accomplishments and make other people look inferior.”
“I can text around and try to set up a hangout with Prince Ali next time he passes through Paris.” Eliott offered.
“My dad’s in a group that plays tennis with a few ambassadors. I’m sure he could help us set up a youth program to push a Go Green effort here in Paris.” Martin added.
“Sometimes I babysit for the president’s niece, so I could see about getting her deported,” Lisette said with a cheery grin, and everyone turned to her with horrified expressions. “I’m kidding, but it’s an option.”
“Aww, you’re so cute when you’re kicking awful people out of the country.” Eliott nuzzled her cheek with his nose.
“Anything you need, Marinette, we’ve got your back,” Macy said, placing a hand over hers. “We’re behind you all the way.”
Marinette pulled her in for a hug, tears stinging the corners of her eyes. Even though she regretted running from her problems, Marinette didn’t regret meeting her new friends. They helped her when she needed it most, and for that, she would always be grateful. With these people by her side, Lila wasn’t going to know what hit her.
♪♫♪ This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things ♪♫♪
Marinette paced the length of the living room a week later, chewing her nails. The awards show had finally arrived, and Clara would be walking the red carpet in one of Marinette’s original designs. It was the biggest moment of her life, and she couldn’t sit still.
Her mom smiled, setting the cake she’d just finished decorating on the table. “Everything is going to be fine, dear. Your designs were wonderful, and Clara loved them.”
“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean all of the famous fashion critics are going to. People talk about award show outfits for weeks, mom! If everyone hates Clara’s dress, I’m going to be front-page news for worst-dressed all month!” Marinette groaned.
“There’s no way anyone will hate your designs. My daughter has all the talent in the world!” Her father scooped her up, planting a kiss on her cheek.
The doorbell rang, and Marinette rushed to answer it.
“Congratulations!” Her friends cheered.
Macy pulled her in for a tight hug. “I can’t wait to see which design Clara picked! They were all so good.”
“I can’t believe Clara picked you over Gabriel Agreste. You are so lucky, Marinette,” Lisette said.
“She’s amazingly talented. My father didn’t stand a chance,” Adrien said with a laugh. He presented a bouquet of roses with a shy smile. “Congratulations, mon ange.”
Marinette stretched up to kiss his cheek. Taking his hand, she ushered everyone inside where they didn’t hesitate to make themselves at home. Eliott and Martin moved for the snacks while Macy and Lisette settled on the couch. Marinette’s mother reached for a vase on the top shelf, stretching up on her toes.
“Let me.” Adrien stepped in and grabbed it with ease.
“Thank you, dear. Marinette picked such a sweet boyfriend.” Her mother beamed. “She used to talk about you so much. Every day, she’d come home from school and tell us all about how green your eyes are and-”
“Mom!” Marinette shot her a silencing look.
“I’m flattered. Marinette is a wonderful girl. You and Mr. Dupain must be really proud that a celebrity like Clara commissioned her,” Adrien replied smoothly. He shot Marinette a wink when her mom changed the subject. Why was he so perfect?
“Ooo! It’s starting!” Macy squealed.
Marinette and Adrien squeezed onto the couch next to Macy and Eliott. She leaned her head on his shoulder, twining their fingers together. Having her friends around eased some of her nerves, but her heartbeat escalated every time someone new moved to the front of the line.
“How long until we get to see your dress?” her dad asked.
“I don’t know. The red carpet doesn’t really have a set schedule.” Marinette shrugged.
“Okay, we’ll just wait,” he said, trying to seem nonchalant, though his impatience showed each time he shifted or cleared his throat.
Marinette chewed her nails as other artists and celebrities made their appearances, leg bouncing until Eliott reached over to stop it. She flashed him a sheepish grin but resumed tapping the moment he turned away.
Clara’s name flashed at the bottom of the screen, and Marinette cupped her hands over her mouth. Everyone leaned forward as she approached the camera in a colorful, flowing gown.
“She’s wearing my favorite!” Marinette squeaked between her fingers. Her dad patted her knee as her mom turned up the volume on the television.
“Standing here on the red carpet with Best Pop Artist nominee Clara Nightingale,” the reporter said, turning to Clara with a smile. “Clara, can I just say you look lovely tonight? Who are you wearing?”
“My dress was designed by someone sweet; a teen whose talent can’t be beat. More beautiful than any melody I’ve ever sang, this dress is by Miss Marinette Dupain-Cheng.” Clara twirled around, the skirt of the dress rippling with color.
Marinette buried her face in a couch pillow with a shrill scream. Adrien rubbed her back with a laugh. She shot up again, eyes glued to the screen as Clara gushed about the details of her dress before the conversation steered toward her award nomination.
“Can I just say? Stun-ning!” Eliott said.
“That dress is everything! It looks even better than it did on paper.” Macy agreed.
“A celebrity wearing my daughter’s original designs! I always knew someone would recognize how amazing you are.” Her dad pulled her in for a tight hug.
“We’re so proud of you, honey. We know how hard you worked,” her mom said.
“You did an amazing job, Marinette.” Adrien pressed a kiss to her cheek.
“Well, we have to get back to the bakery, so we’ll let you kids watch the rest together, okay?” Her mother passed Macy the remote.
“Good night.” Marinette waved as they stood and took their leave.
“Actually, I should go too. I forgot to do my physics homework,” Macy said, standing up. “Martin, can you come help me? It’ll take me hours if you don’t.”
Martin flicked his gaze over to Marinette and nodded. “Uh, yeah, I can do that.”
“Oh, ya know, I just remembered that I promised my dad we’d help him with that thing,” Lisette said.
“Oh yeah! Sorry, it’s like a big, complicated thing. We need to go too.” Eliott nodded. “Congrats again. You’re amazing and wonderful, and you deserve this more than anyone.”
“Thanks.” Marinette smiled.
“See you tomorrow!” Macy called as they all shuffled out the door.
“Is it just me or was that a lot of lame excuses?” Marinette tilted her head.
“I asked them to give us some time alone.” Adrien admitted.
“Oh.” Marinette’s cheeks warmed as Adrien wrapped an arm around her.
“I know things have been crazy lately, but in a way, I’m really glad all of this happened. I might not have ever realized how I felt about you if it hadn’t,” he said. “It’s a weird positive that’s come from everything.”
“Yeah.” Marinette leaned against his shoulder with a smile. “I’m happy things worked out. I never would have told you how I felt otherwise.”
“Did you really tell your parents how cute I was?” he asked with a smirk.
“I- Well, I didn’t- I mean-” She buried her face in his shirt with a groan.
“It’s been a while since I’ve heard you stammer like that. I forgot how cute it is.” Adrien chuckled.
“It’s your fault.” She jabbed his chest with one finger. “You’re so cute. It makes me all flustered.”
“Hmm, then I wonder how you’ll react to this.” He reached into his pocket to retrieve a long jewelry case, opening it to reveal a small pink diamond necklace.
“Adrien!”
“I wanted to get you something to remember me by since we go to different schools now. I miss you like crazy, so I thought that maybe you could at least have a small piece of me when we’re apart,” he said. “Do you like it?”
“Adrien…” Marinette cupped a hand over her mouth. “It’s beautiful. I love it.”
The gem was warm against her skin as Adrien fastened it around her neck, a physical reminder of his love. They’d overcome so much together, and while their fight was far from over, at least Marinette had him.
Adrien turned her jaw to face him, brushing her cheek with his thumb. Those warm green eyes softened as he leaned in, and Marinette closed her eyes. His breath swirled hot on her lips when they brushed, sending a jolt up her spine. Her heart hammered in a frenzy, building rapidly in anticipation. But just as release came, his pocket buzzed, and they both crashed down to earth again.
With a short sigh, Adrien pulled back and retrieved his phone, quirking a brow at the caller ID.
“It’s Chloe,” he said. “Hell-”
“Were you two going to list Dupain-Cheng designing for Clara Nightingale among our assets, or was I just supposed to figure that out myself?” She scolded.
“Sorry. It was kind of-”
“No time for excuses. I need to propose this to you before I change my mind. I know the perfect way to enact your plan,” Chloe said with a groan. “I hate myself for even considering it.”
“What are you suggesting?” Adrien’s eyebrows furrowed.
“We’re going to make Dupain-Cheng famous, and I think I know the perfect way to do it.”
New Suit
Pairing: Sam Wilson x Black!Reader
Word Count: 3.8k+
A/N: it’s been forever since I’ve posted, but I have been writing since I was stuck at home with covid 😅 Hopefully I can post something else next week too! ANYWAYS, this fic does not have any TFAWS spoilers and (as usual) does not give a fuck about Endgame, meaning our favorite dysfunctional couple Tony and Steve are alive. Steve simply passed on the mantle. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
So Sam was Captain America. And he was proud of that fact.
The day that Steve decided to retire and give him one of his most prized possessions was a day Sam would never forget. A whirlwind of emotions had swelled in his chest. Shock, unworthiness, gratitude. But after talking it over with Steve — and surprisingly enough, with Bucky — Sam agreed to take in the role.
The thing was, no one knew yet. At least, no one outside of the Avengers facility.
Immediately after Thanos, there weren’t really any Avengers level threats. Most threats could be handled by one team member, and it was usually one of the newbies — Peter, Scott, even Wanda. That being so, Sam didn’t have much of a reason to even make public appearances. So he didn’t.
Sometimes, he’d stand in the training room, the red, white, and blue shield strapped to his arm, and just stare in the mirror. Something felt wrong. Out of place. Like the reflection before him was almost right, but he still couldn’t tell what was wrong. Tony had caught him one time as he stepped into the room, a sports bottle full of ice cold water in his hand. “Mid-life crisis?”
Sam jumped at his loud voice and almost scrambled to detach the shield from his arm, like a kid caught with his grubby little hand in the cookie jar. “My bad, I’ll just—“
“No no, keep it on.” Tony waved a hand. “I gave it to Steve, he gave it to you. It’s yours, no give backsies.”
Sam nodded but took the shield off anyway. He decided that he didn’t need to train anymore and headed toward the door. “I’m just gonna go put this back.”
“What is going on with you, Wilson?”
“What do you mean?”
Tony raised a brow, “What do I mean? You staying cooped up in this facility. Barely training with the shield. Opting out of assignments. That’s what I mean.”
“There’s not much of a need.”
“There is. You just don’t see it yet.” Tony walked toward him. “Look, I know being the new Cap has you freaked out—“
“I’m not freaked out.”
“Sure. But Steve chose you and that should be good enough.”
“It is.” Sam huffed as he turned the shield in his hands. “I don’t know, man. I just… It’s just hard to believe. Hard to put in action, I guess.”
“Well, seeing is believing.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“Head to room 626 when you get a chance.”
“What’s in room 626?”
“You’ll see.”
Sam exited the elevator on the sixth floor to loud muffled music. Looking around, he realized he’d never even been to that part of the facility before. The white walls and obscure art seemed strange and misplaced in a building full of superhumans. Too clean, too elegant.
Each of the rooms seemed that way too. Sam paused in the hallway, glancing through some of the glass doors with people’s names painted neatly at the top. Hardwood floors and marble countertops in each room. So impeccably clean that even dust bunnies wouldn’t dare step foot inside.
Yet, when Sam approached room 626, he realized this was where the loud music was coming from. Different from the other rooms, this one was messy and colorful. He slid the glass door open, flinching at loud volume.
He recognized the track — his father used to listen to it all the time when he was growing up. He could almost hear his dad’s deep voice teasing him: “You don’t know nothin’ ‘bout this, son. This was before your time.” Of course Sam knew the song. His dad was the one who put him on. Still, Sam’s dad always got a kick out the playful fight he put up.
The long, seemingly endless hallway was painted a blinding white. He could make out a peculiar smell as he walked toward the end of the hall. Wet paint or fumes, he wasn’t really sure. He just pulled his shirt over his nose and kept looking for… well only God really knew.
Finally, he arrived in the main room and saw you and your controlled chaos. You had ten or twenty different fabrics pinned to one wall and sketches of different outfits pinned to the opposing one. Against the back wall were mannequins wearing your works in progress. And just in front of Sam on a large wooden desk were schematics and what looked like engineering tools. Soldering iron, wires, circuit boards, and the like.
Everything seemed like a tornado of colors, clothes, and fabric. But you? You were as cool as a cucumber with your expensive looking spray painting mask strapped on as you sprayed the back of a jean jacket with bright pink paint. Sam chuckled when he heard your muffled voice sing along to the song, not noticing his presence. “Sherry bay-yay-by. Sherry, wontcha come out tonight.”
Sam pulled his shirt back down with a small grin on his lips, debating whether he should disturb you. In the end, he decided to save you the embarrassment, but by then, you’d already moved on to the next verse. You dropped your voice down low in an attempt to sound just like Nick Massi, singing, “Why don’t you come on.”
Sam let out a loud laugh, only covering it with his hand as you jumped, finally realizing someone else was in the room. “Sorry.” Sam chuckled. “Didn’t mean to interrupt your concert.”
You pulled the mask over your head, revealing a nervous smile. You jogged to the desk and grabbed the remote to switch off the stereo. “Concert’s a flattering choice of words.”
“Well you were really nailing that Massi.”
You raised a brow as you set down the can of spray paint. “You listen to Four Seasons?”
“Growing up, it was a staple in the Wilson household.” He offered his hand. “I’m Sam, by the way.”
“Y/N.” You shook it, an impressed smile on your face. “So what can I do for you, Sam?”
“I’m actually not sure. Tony just kinda sent me up here.” He raised a brow when you gasped, amused with your excitement. He smiled as the cute squeal that pushed past your lips. “I assume you know what that means.”
“I’ve been asking him forever if I could design your new suit!”
“New suit?”
“I mean, if you’re okay with it.” You added.
“I just don’t see why I need a new suit is all.” Sam shrugged as he looked around at all your work. He knew, way deep down in the rational part of his consciousness, that he needed a new suit. There wasn’t anything wrong with his Falcon suit, but wearing a new suit seemed too definite. If he put on a new combat suit, it meant that he was fully stepping into this new role. That he would be Captain America in more than just name. People would look at him, at his suit, and recognize that he was the Captain America.
“How about this?” You stepped toward him, prepared to bargain. “Let me make you a suit. If you don’t like it, I’ll just give your Falcon suit an upgrade. Deal?”
He let out a nervous chuckle at your offer. He had nothing to lose, really. Either way, he got upgrades. Still, he looked over at you and decided he couldn’t be the one to snuff the ambitious look in your dark eyes. He shook your hand, smiling softly at the triumphant grin that broke across your face. “Deal.”
“Great!” You were bouncing on your toes when he agreed. You practically raced back to your desk and started shuffling through your sketches and until you found the folder you were searching for. You handed them to Sam, “You can come back tomorrow morning so I can take your measurements. Till then, look through these sketches and tell me what you like.”
“So you’ve been working on this for awhile?” Sam asked, briefly flipping through the many colorful sketches.
“Ever since Tony told me about you.”
He let out a breath of amusement through his nose. Of course it was Tony, trying to set things in motion before Sam was even sure of what he wanted. Still, he knew Tony was trying to help. Sam gestured with the folder. “I’ll take a look.”
“Cool. Tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow.”
—
When Same woke up the next day, he found himself immediately thinking about meeting with you later. He felt weird. Nervous, even. Whether it was due to the idea of a new suit — of being Captain America — or seeing you, he wasn’t sure. All he knew was that he felt like a swarm of butterflies had flown from his stomach to his throat and decided to make a home there.
After stepping out of the shower, which took twenty more minutes than usual, he fumbled around for something to wear. What was he supposed to wear to fitting anyway? Sweats? Jeans? As his mind wandered, he thought of you. Rather, he thought of how you would see him. Maybe I should wear the green shirt, he thought. Girls always seem to like the green shirt.
He paused. Why was he thinking that?
He’d just met you. He knew a total of two facts about you: your name was Y/N and you listened to Four Seasons. That was hardly enough for Sam to be worried about how he looked for you. Yet, there he was, slipping on the dark green shirt that seemed to stretch ever so slightly across his broad chest. He settled on a pair of dark jeans before heading down to the kitchen for a cup of coffee.
As he stepped into the communal kitchen, Bucky was already sitting at the island, back facing Sam. He had just returned from his daily run, still in his sweatpants and white T-shirt with a cup of coffee in front of him. “There’s still fresh coffee in the pot.” Bucky mumbled into his cup as he flipped to the next page of the newspaper.
“Thanks.” Sam walked past him, slapping the newspaper into Bucky’s face as he walked by. “Why are you reading a newspaper?”
“To keep up with the news. Like a normal person.”
“There are these great new things called cell phones. Most people read the news on those now.”
“Well, I’m not most people, am I?” Bucky lowered the newspaper and furrowed his brow at the sight of Sam. “What girl are you trying to impress?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Green shirt.”
“What about it?”
“That’s your ‘I want a girl to like me’ shirt.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Sam scoffed as he poured a second cup of coffee. “This is just a shirt.”
“The shirt.”
“I’m not having this argument with you.”
“Not much of an argument when you know I’m right.” Bucky smirked. “Who’s the second cup for?”
Sam paused as he realized he’d been caught, but quickly recovered with an eye roll. “For me. So I don’t have to come back and hear your annoying ass voice.”
“Mhm. Tell the girl I said hi.”
“Screw you.” Sam left the kitchen to the sound Bucky’s chuckles, reluctant to admit that he was right. Moments later, he was waiting for the elevator, tapping his shoe to distract himself from the butterflies that were starting to flutter around again. When the doors slid open, Tony briefly greeted Sam before stopping and pulling off his glasses. “Green shirt?”
Sam stepped past him. “Shut up.”
Every step closer to your workspace had him jittery. Not only was he forced to deal with these unfamiliar feelings for you — if that’s what they were — but he was finally being confronted with his new position. One step closer to replacing Steve. To being Captain America. Yet, he couldn’t deny, he could envision himself in some of the suits you had sketched for him. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.
When he entered 626, there was loud music playing once again. Another old song he recognized, Van Morrison. He smiled at the thought of you dancing around your space again, singing along to Brown Eyed Girl. It wasn’t so much about him catching you in the act. It was nice, a privilege really, to see the natural you. Eyes closed, arms up, hips swaying. Seeing how you act when you believed no one was watching was like strangely endearing.
And there you were, almost matching his wandering thoughts to a tee. You were setting up for work, once again not noticing Sam’s arrival. You danced across the room as you moved things from place to place. You began to sing out the words as you prepared to lift your tri-fold mirror. Sam broke from the trance and called out your name. You jumped and placed a hand over your heart, laughing quietly when you saw it was only him. “Caught me again.”
“To be fair, you seem pretty easy to catch with the way you get lost in music.” Sam smiled, placing the coffee cups on your desk, far from any of your papers. “Let me get that for you.”
“Oh, you don’t have to—”
“It’s no problem. Just tell where you want it.”
You stepped away from the mirror, tossing a stray braid over your shoulder with a smile. “Just over there, in front of that pedestal. Thanks.” When he went to lift it, your eyes were drawn to his arms, watching his biceps flex. You caught yourself before you could begin to stare, heat rising to your cheeks as you went to look for your measuring tape.
“Oh, by the way, I brought you a cup of coffee.” Sam mentioned as he set the mirror down. “You know, if you drink it? I didn’t know what you put in it, if anything, so it’s black. Is that okay?”
“That’s perfect, actually.” You sighed happily. “I’ve been trying to replace coffee with loud music in the mornings, hence the dancing.”
“Of course.” He chuckled in response.
“And while I love to blast Morrison at nine in the morning, it’s not the same without a hot cup of coffee.” You took the cup he offered with a smile. “Thanks for thinking of me.”
Sam couldn’t help how his heart skipped a beat. “Don’t mention it.”
You took a sip, “So, you ready to get measured for your new suit?”
“As I’ll ever be.”
“Great, just step onto the pedestal for me, and relax.”
“Got it.”
It was quiet as you brought the tape measure under his arms and around his chest. It wasn’t exactly uncomfortable, but Sam was sure his nerves had to be radiating out of him. The butterflies were beating against his ribcage as you pulled just tight enough on the tape measure. You took note of the number and bent over to write it down on your notepad. Being so close to you, Sam felt himself tense up as you measured around his waist. You chuckled and looked up at him. “You gotta relax.”
“I’m relaxed.”
“If you don’t loosen up, your new suit is gonna be super tight in all the wrong places.” You joked. “Talking usually helps.”
“About what?”
“Anything.” You shrugged. “Like why are you so opposed to a new suit?”
Almost as if it was a reflex, Sam tensed up again with a nervous and playful chuckle. “Way to get me to relax.”
“I’m just saying.” You laughed, adjusting the tape once again. “It’s not like you’re not qualified. I mean, Steve chose you.”
“Yeah, he did. I wish it were that simple in my mind.” He admitted.
“What’s your mind saying?”
“What isn’t it saying?” Sam rolled his eyes at himself. “It’s just… I don’t know.”
“Yes, you do.”
“I don’t want to put that on you. That’s not your job.”
“It’s not.” You agreed with a chuckle. “But that’s not why I asked. You can tell me.”
Again, with a wave of confusion, he felt the tension melt away. He didn’t know why he felt this way, like he could tell you anything and everything. There was a familiarity about you, like you were someone he’d known his entire life despite only meeting twenty hours ago. His father probably would’ve called you an old soul. Maybe in some other lifetime, in another universe, you knew each other. Or maybe, this was just fate coming to pass. Destiny finding, not two halves, but two wholes — putting them together like some sort of experiment to see what would come of it.
“It’s just… how am I supposed to follow after Steve?” He asked. “He has such a huge story, this legacy just hanging over my head. He’s been saving people since before either of us were born. And now here I am, some dude from the Air Force that met Steve completely by accident, about to take up his shield. It just seems unbelievable. Literally.”
You nodded as you measured around his left thigh. “First, let me say that your feelings are completely valid.”
“Why do I feel like you’re about to decimate everything I just said?”
“Not decimate!” You laughed. “Just gently prove wrong.”
“Oh, in that case.” He smiled down at you.
“Shut up.” You snapped him with the tape measure before measuring his other thigh. “Steve is not the only one with a story. I mean, Sam Wilson, the guy who grew up in Harlem, lost his parents and his best friend, and still managed to not give up? The guy Steve Rogers trusted with his life almost immediately after meeting him? The same dude who stole a top secret government project and used it to become a superhero? I think that’s pretty badass.”
Sam considered your words with a small smile. Sure, he may have seemed normal — maybe even mundane — to himself, but the fact is that he had also been through a lot. Just like Steve, Sam realized that his life was no walk in the park. Not many people couldn’t have lived Sam’s life and come out the other side not just okay but strong. He wasn’t Steve Rogers, but that didn’t matter. He was Sam Wilson, and maybe that was okay.
“You’re good at that.” He commented quietly, looking down at you. He just about caught himself staring at you. The bright smile across your ruby shaded lips, the almost childlike excitement in your eyes. And your eyes — jesus. They were the same color as his, a dark brown. Yet, he couldn’t help but find yours so much more interesting.
“At what?”
“Talking to people.”
“Not everyone. Just...” You shook your head as you stood up straight. There was something indecipherable in his eyes — or maybe you wanted to believe it was. Still, it was there. Admiration, confusion, gratefulness? You weren’t sure. But the intensity of his stare made heat spread across your cheeks one more, and you ducked your head, moving to the side to measure the length of his arm. “Just people like you.”
Minutes later, you finished his measurement and moved on to the designs. You and Sam went through each and every one, noting his likes and dislikes. As time went on, it became very apparent that he was ready to be Captain America. Even if he wasn’t sure yet, you were. Much too soon, every detail of his new suit was planned out, and it was time for Sam to go.
“If I make this my top priority, I can have your new suit finished in two weeks, tops.”
“You don’t have to do that.” Sam said bashfully. “I’m sure you have other work to do.”
“None as exciting or as important.”
“Now you’re just stroking my ego.” He joked.
You scoffed painfully, “Like you need me to do that.”
You walked beside him, down the hall and to the elevator. He couldn’t help but wish he had some sort of excuse to stay, but leading the Avengers meant a mountain of responsibilities. Still, he wanted to see you again. Not for work and not for designing a new suit. He wanted to get to know you away from the fabric and tape measures. He wanted to find out how someone as sweet and breathtaking as you could even exist in a world filled with such evil left and right. So, he rocked back and forth for a moment before turning to you.
“And um, Y/N?”
“Yes?”
Sam fully intended to ask you out just then. But he felt like he couldn’t move. A feeling of nervousness he hadn’t gotten since he was a teenager, he was frozen. Staring at you like a deer in headlights, his brain screamed at him: Just ask her, you dumbass! Then, the elevator announced its arrival with a ding and broke his concentration. He cleared his throat and smiled nervously. “Thank you again. You’ve been a huge help.”
You blinked in confusion but stammered out, “Glad to be of service.”
It wasn’t until a few days later that Sam had gained the courage to do what he should’ve done in that moment.
The city was in danger — some high-level Hydra threat — and the Avengers were needed. Everyone rushed off to suit up, including Sam. That’s when he saw it. You had just finished his suit, and it was more than Sam could’ve ever imagined. A shiny white breastplate with red decals on the torso, blue pants lined with bulletproof material, and to top it off, his signature red wings. That was something he wanted to keep. They reminded him of his humble beginnings, of what made him the man that Steve chose to be Captain America.
And Captain America he was.
Sam was aware of all the stares he got as he fought the Hydra agents and ended the crisis with the rest of the team. He knew it would take some getting used to. But he was pretty sure — no, extremely sure that he could do this. He could be the symbol that the public needed.
He strolled back into the Avengers Complex, handing a handcuffed Hydra agent off to be questioned, when he saw you. You were usually there waiting, ready for feedback on your new toys and inventions. But what Sam said surprised you.
“Hey Sam,” You started. “Did your new suit fare well? I was already thinking of some modifications based on —“
“Would you like to go out with me this Saturday?”
You blinked, lowering your clipboard in shock. “What?”
“Would you like to have dinner with me on Saturday?” He smiled wide and unabashedly. Then, with no hesitation, you smacked him on the arm with your clipboard, making him bark out a laugh.
“Took you long enough.”
yandere!ateez reacts: s/o trying to run away
This is: requested | I was supposed to upload this last night but Chrome became a bitch and I lost all what I wrote in a span of minutes only. Hekhek, pain.
Hongjoong:
Hongjoong may not be as tall as Yunho and Mingi, nor as active, energetic and hyper as San and Wooyoung. But what he lacks, is what he makes up for. Hongjoong is a man of calculations, precision and skill.
You listened to the sound of Hongjoong’s footsteps exit the house, hear his car engine roar and slowly hear the wheels fade into the road. While you had been tied on the bed, you were thankful for him for two reasons: One, he didn’t inject you any sleeping drugs. Second, leaving the cutter behind the lamp at the bedside table. You struggled to get your hands on the cutter, your finger dancing on top of the table until you reached for it. Finally, unbinding your wrists first before your ankles. And then, making your move.
You first went down to the basement, knowing that there is a door that leads to his backyard. However, the doors were sealed shut and lock on the inside. The keys are always with Hongjoong. You went back up and noticed how the windows all had bars and the only free door for you to use is the front door. You slowly walked towards the front door and the blue skies and cold air greeted you. The sounds of birds chirping and the leaves rustling through the wind.
“What a dumb kitten you are.” Hongjoong voice spoke, a visible irritated look on his face as he had his back leaning on the wall with his arms crossed over his chest.
And you were so sure that you heard his car pull out the driveway.
Tumblr media
Seonghwa:
Seonghwa’s calm and composed exterior contradicts his wild and aggressive exterior. One minute, he would be whispering you are his and his only. And the next minute he would stab the guy who tried to get your name and number at a coffee shop the other day. RIP to the guy, he was so young.
And that’s what you fell in love with Seonghwa. He was so cool and calm in any situation that you felt like you were safe with him. Hehe, wrong.
Grabbing a fistful of your hair, he yanked and dragged you down to the basement after you talked back at him. How you felt like shit instead of being comfortable around him. And it was only natural for Seonghwa to raise his hand at you and swung it across your face and give you punishment.
Cuffing your ankles through a post. He raises his hand and gripped its hold on your under your chin.
“Don’t be stupid and wait for me here, alright?” He leaned into place a kiss on your cheek despite your protest in leaning away.
You watched as he ascends up the stairs, leaving you all alone in the basement. Looking around, there wasn’t a lot in his basement. It was just you and a couple of items that are tucked under a white blanket. You bend down forward and forcefully remove your feet off the cuff, grunting in the process. Once you were free, you ran up the stairs and went to the living room.
But you heard someone knocking frantically on the front door. Cautiously and curiously you approached the door and slowly opened it. In front of you, an elderly woman appeared.
“Mr. Park, I’m truly sorry, but have you seen my- who are you?” The elderly woman asked, her brows furrowing in confusion upon seeing your dishelved state.
“Please, please, I will explain everything to you but you have to help me! Please!” You begged the woman. The elderly woman nodded her head but as she turned around, she was met with a knife piercing through her stomach. You watch in terror as Seonghwa lets out a soft sigh as he pulls the knife out before continously stabbing the elderly woman before shoving her lifeless, bloody body on the floor.
“I mean how you can be more stupid?”
Yunho:
Yunho isn’t anything like Hongjoong and Seonghwa. In fact, you didn’t know how Yunho’s mind works. But one thing is for sure, he didn’t think much like a normal human. But, everyone in town loves him! He plays with kids in the park, helping out the elderly in crossing the street or carrying their groceries, he even gives food to the homeless.
Dating Yunho felt like heaven. You loved watching him help the people and he always stuck close to you like a puppy. However, you felt like you were being suffocated in the relationship as the months go by. You tried to tell Yunho to be less clingy towards you. And he didn’t took what you said the right way.
You woke up cold and shivering. The place was dark and you were barely able to move your body as it felt sore and aching all over. You then noticed a foul odor besides you, turning your head, you let out a scream afterwards. It was the dead, rotting body of the guy who you immediately realized as the guy who catcalled you in your campus.
You didn’t know how and why but you struggled to getting your limp body up and crawling out of the room. Extending your hand out and then opening the door, you noticed how the house was quiet. The only thing you could hear was your ragged breath and your body sliding on the wooden floor. You plucked up your courage and dragged your body through the front door, as it was the closest to you.
You were so close to the front door when all of a sudden Yunho came from upstairs, jogging down the stairs as he saw your body before yanking your ankle and then dragging you back.
“Hey Officer Song! It’s me Yunho! Sorry about the screaming, its my girlfriend and she just saw a rat in the living room. What’s that? Really? That’s great! I’ll get back to you. Nice talking to you officer!”
Tumblr media
Yeosang:
Unlike Yunho, Yeosang is a combination of both Hongjoong and Seonghwa. He learned the art of skill and mastery of calculations from Hongjoong and the art of calm and composure from Seonghwa.
You and Yeosang go to the same prestigious university in Seoul. Even taking the same course (Web Design). And you weren’t sure how Yeosang had a crush on you since there’s still a hundred of people of people under your course. Yeosang was a shy and cute boy yet smart. That’s what everyone mostly knew him of.
And it slowly started out with him buying you coffee, doodling on your textbooks with his little creation called Hehetmon and going on study dates at the library or the coffee shop inside your campus. And one day, you gave your sweet yes to Yeosang’s proposal of being his girlfriend.
It was supposed to be that way but Yeosang one time caught you talking to a guy. He didn’t like how close you are with the guy and how you were laughing with him. He made a note to himself on finding out who is the guy you were talking to. But to you, the guy you were talking to was just your partner for an upcoming requirement.
That night, Yeosang silently entered your home. He lets out a soft gasp as he takes in your almost naked state in bed before leaning in to smell your scent. He dips down as he starts to bind your wrists together first. Much to his dismay, you woke up.
“Yeosang? What are you doing?” You asked, looking at how he binded your wrists and ankles. Writhing underneath him.
“Stop moving around, bitch. You’re making things worse for me.” You have never heard him cuss but that was a first. He placed a tape on your lips to muffle your sounds, pulling out a syringe and then injecting it on your thigh. Slowly you felt drowsy before darkness consumed you.
Hours later, you awake with a sore feeling on your lower back and upper arms. Blinking your eyes, you realized that you were binded on the chair, in front a table and Yeosang sitting on the opposite of you.
“What did I ever do to you?” You spoke groggily to him, blinking more. “I hate you. I want to break up with you.” But Yeosang lets out a sadistic laugh.
“Breaking up with me? Why, were in this together. Remember? Why should I let you go when I finally have you with me? Soon, you’ll realize that you are mine and you won’t need anyone else. Just like Wonho.”
Your blood ran cold. Wonho. The guy you were working in a requirement.
“What did you do to him?” You asked. But Yeosang only smiled sweetly at you. “Wonho? Um, well, let’s say that I worked everything out for you and you’ll be getting the perfect grade. Wonho? Hm, let’s just say that he magically disappeared.” He stood up and placed a recorder in the middle of the table. Playing the recorder as he left the room.
“YN~ Yeosang loves you! Let’s stay together forever, alright? I love you.” Was what Yeosang said in the recorded and oh god was it on loop.
Needless to say, you didn’t get to sleep afterwards. And maybe, just maybe, staying with Yeosang is a good idea.
San:
Very much like Seonghwa. But worst.
San is a sweetheart. There’s no denying that. And you were very oblivious to the fact that he has a crush on you. You’ve always mistaken his flirtiness with kindness that you would make his pick up lines as your jokes. Of course to San it hurts, but seeing you happy is what matters.
Everyday, San lived with the guilt of not being his and yours. He feared everyone would take you from him and it kept him on edge for most of the day. It drove him mad until he could no longer take it. He decided to kidnap you and take you to his home.
And now here you are, on the run, you managed to successfully escape his home and now you needed a ride to take you back to the city. From what you have learned, you were in Namhae, and it approximately takes you 3 hours to get back to Seoul. You were in the brink of walking back to the city when a car pulled up in front of you.
“I’m sorry. I can assure you that I am no creep but do you need a ride? I was just driving to visit my parents in Incheon.” Finally. Incheon was a bit close to Seoul, and you decided to take up on his offer. Climbing inside his car. But as he was about the reverse, a bullet pierced through the windows of his car. Hitting him square in the head.
“If you wanted to go to Incheon, why didn’t you just tell me, baby?”
Tumblr media
Mingi:
Mingi loves to shoot range. It’s his past time and hobby. It all started when his father first time brought him to a shooting range in the province in his pubescent teen days. “One day, this will become useful.” was what his father told him.
Despite Mingi’s tall and muscular physique is a child that still lives inside him. Sometimes it comes out, him being clumsy, active and playful. But there are moments wherein he can become mature.
Mingi knew you love him dearly. But these days, he wasn’t sure if that was still the case. His insecurity grew day by day until he eventually ended up like San: living with the fear of you possibly leaving him one day.
On the other hand, you were slowly falling out of love with him. And you found yourself in the presence of someone new. One Friday night, you had lied to Mingi on the phone how you were heading home when in fact, you were taking a cab somewhere else with your new guy. After hanging on the phone, it took you both a few minutes before finally a cab pulled up in front of you.
The driver got out and moved in front of you. Was that Mingi? No. You were so sure that it wasn’t him. You turned around and found him aiming gun point at your new guy before blasting his brains out. 100 points to Mingi for bloodshed.
“So, this is the guy you were leaving me for?”
Tumblr media
Wooyoung:
“IF YOU LOOK BACK, YOU’RE MINE”
You remove one of your earphones and looked back at Wooyoung. “What did you say?” but you watched as he jumped out in joy at the open space. Wierd.
Wooyoung is a reallyyyyy clingy boy. And boy did he love to pester you about your boyfriend. You found it weird, why would he always ask for details about your boyfriend? Everytime you asked him why, he would just shrug. And of course you never gave him the details that you wanted. That’s just weird.
Your boyfriend meant everything to you. And recently, he was so happy talking to you about how he made a new friend. You were really happy how he was so happy that he made a friend that you told him to invite him to dinner one night.
And that night finally came. You were in the kitchen while cooking and any minute the guest would arrive. You felt a pair of strong arms wrap around your wasit. You leant your back on his chest, submitting to his touch.
“If you look back, you’re mine.” You let out a soft gasp and then you turned out. Coming face to face with Wooyoung before blacking out.
Tumblr media
Jongho:
Jongho was someone is very different from your boyfriend. Jongho was soft and understanding and always was willing to listen to your rants about your everyday life. Whereas your boyfriend kept you under his toxic behavior or leaving you and then showing up a few days. Always partying and hooking up with random girls.
You oftenly wonder why you could never get away from your boyfriend. You mind kept telling you to leave all the toxicity behind, but your heart says to endure the pain as he told you that he is willing to change for you. And he mentioned that a year ago and there was still no new change.
It was just you and Jongho inside a coffee shop, sitting near the window where you would tell him about your day and what were the things you did. And seeing Jongho being immersed with what you have to say made you so happy. Although your momentarily happiness was cut short when your toxic boyfriend came in and told you to come with him.
You wanted to stay with Jongho but you found yourself going with your boyfriend. And Jongho was not okay with that.
He followed you and your boyfriend through the dark alley. There wasn’t a lot of people in the area and Jongho took this for his advantage.
“Jongho?” He came up both from behind. Laying a hand on his shoulder before tackling him on the ground, beating your boyfriend up like a pulp.
“Jongho! Stop it! Stop it!” You pleaded, pushing him away by his shoulder. When he stood up, you looked at the bloodied face of your boyfriend who looked like he was half dead.
“Were you really going to leave me there for this guy, Y/N?” Jongho’s question and uneasy calm voice shook you.
“You couldn’t leave him because the sex is great, isn’t it? I know you. That’s why you can’t leave him. And there’s a part of you that’s still holding onto him. What about me? Don’t you think I deserve a chance as I’m the one who’s with you all this time?”
The guilt kicked in and Jongho’s words started to brim tears in your eyes. You were unsure, that’s true. However-
“If you leave me one more time, I will not hesitate to do the same thing to your parents. They’re old, right? It would make beating and killing them easier.”
