(SPOILERS obviously):

An obvious one, but a classic, the "up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!" line reference. This one never gets old.

Jimmy next name drops Flamebird. in the comics Nightwing and Flamebird were Kryptonian superheroes adopting their names from a species of Kryptonian birds. This is where Dick Grayson gets his Nightwing identity from. The page here is from Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe #17 (1986) drawn by Curt Swan and Karl Kesel.

At the climatic battle of part 2 of Adventures of a Normal Man, we see Leslie Willis become blue and look more like her traditional Livewire look. Her first appearance was in Superman the Animated Series, season 2 episode 5 "Livewire" where she was voiced by Lori Petty, a.k.a. Tank Girl. In the show Leslie was a shock jock radio DJ slinging hot takes live on air knocking down Superman a peg or two

Obviously MAwS took Leslie in a whole different direction, design choice, and occupation change, but I am excited to see what happens next for her.

Before we see Clark battle Leslie we see this guy. White hair, wears orange and black, its Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke. This fool here in like 20 to 25 years will have his life spiral out of control and get his ass kicked by a bunch of colorfully dressed teenagers.

Deathstroke makes his first appearance in New Teen Titans #2 (1980) (W: Marv Wolfman and George Perez, P: George Perez, I: Romeo Tanghal, C: Adrienne Roy, L: Ben Oda) where he is hired by H.I.V.E. to kill the Teen Titans. In the comics he's a major piece of shit, but a damn good assassin.

After the fight we see Supes clean up and he picks up a billboard that reads Amazotech.

This is a good reference to Professor Anthony Ivo, a mad scientist of the DC Universe who built the Amazo robot who could adapt and replicate any power that the Justice League has and weaknesses. Both Ivo and the Amazo robot make their first appearances here in Brave and the Bold #30 (1960) with the cover art done by Mike Sekowsky and Murphy Anderson.

At the end of the episode Slade name drops Task Force X better known as the Suicide Squad. The name "Suicide Squad" is from the Brave and the Bold #25 where it was the name of Rick Flag's unit in the military. The Suicide Squad pop culture knows first debuted in Legends #3 (1987) as seen below (W: John Ostrander and Len Wein, P: John Byrne, I: Karl Kesel, C: Tom Ziuko, L: Steve Haynie).

The team at this time was composed of Rick Flag, Bronze Tiger, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Enchantress, and Blockbuster. The team members have changed out with each new Task Force X/Suicide Squad iteration.

Behind Slade, here is Amanda Waller, the most fearsome woman in the DC universe. She's ruthless, politically powerful, and will not hesitate to blow up anyone in the Suicide Squad if they screw up. She makes her first appearance in Legends #1 (1987) same comic series in the previous picture. Very excited to see where My Adventures with Superman goes with this cuz you don't see Superman interact with Deathstroke or Suicide Squad all the often.

The fire is out forever

Anthony x fem!reader

warning : fluff, hurt/comfort, kisses, tiny emotional

Summary : In 1972, in little hope, a small town that was once full of work and money, a tragedy occurs, an accident that nearly wipes out an entire family and leaves the seriously injured Anthony in the hospital with only the arms of his girlfriend to hold him.

info : first my second work now to young anthony (poor boy) i wanted to write something fluffy/sad and here it is have fun ;)

It was already dark in the small town of Little Hope when the moon ventured out from behind the clouds and a crow perched on the power line, its black beady eyes looking at the large family home.

A house that was to go up in flames only moments later, violently sweeping each and every one of them into the endless darkness. But before this could happen, a small scooter approached the house and the family inside on the cold winter evening.

The scooter almost made an exhausting hum as the engine struggled against the snow on the ground and the weight of the two people.

,,Looks like our little friend is giving up," Anthony laughed, tapping the metal on the side almost rewardingly before wrapping his arms around his friend's body again, who just shook her head with a giggle and gave him a quick glance.

,,Our little friend can manage a lot my dear Anthony don't worry" she said and slowly pressed the brakes to avoid slipping on the snow with the shouts.

Moments later they came to a halt in front of the house and a relieved sigh came from both of them. ,,Who would have thought we'd make it here from the city," he murmured, taking off his round dark helmet which he handed back to her and fastened to the scooter.

Before he took her hand and gently swung it back and forth while she smiled at him, " ,,That's why we had our two romantic rides," she said and Anthony came a step closer, pulled her close and gave her a soft kiss, a kiss that made any cold outside disappear.

,,Truly romantic darling," the brown-haired man said with a wave before the scooter's engine started up again and his girlfriend made her way home. His blue eyes watched her as the light slowly disappeared on the icy road and a grin formed on his lips.

The date in the small cafe in the city, sweet and yet somehow romantic under the winter lights, the light dance on the way out and the bracelet she wore that he had given her, he loved her with all his heart.

Unaware of the cawing cry of the raven Anthony welcomed here and the young man stepped into his family home amidst strife and an evening of frayed nerves and a vengeful Demon.

A home that went up in flames only moments later and his girlfriend saw what happened in the rearview mirror of her scooter with terrible horror.

But the horror was yet to come when she drove to the nearest phone booth and called the ambulance and the fire brigade, who were only able to rescue the living and injured Anthony from the flames. While the rest of the family members were carried out in the black body bags. The family, which was almost like their own, had always treated them nicely and despite the arguments, they always got along. But now, as the monitor beeped, the rise and fall of his chest seemed weak and she held his hand, there seemed to be nothing left of his cheerful, upbeat demeanor. ,,Everything will be fine...I promise Anthony," she murmured for the umpteenth time as she either read to him from the witchcraft books he loved to hear or held his hand, rubbed his side or hid her tears.

"I need you...your family needs you...everyone," she continued to murmur, squeezing his hand enruet knew it was only a matter of time before he finally woke up from his swoon. She wanted to hide her head in her hand when she suddenly felt a small squeeze.

,,Anthony?" came the incredulous question and she saw the older man open his eyes, blinded by the lamp, close them again and lean over to protect him.

Murmuring her name in distraction, he held onto her tightly before his face contorted in pain, his hand unable to rest on his ear because of the bandages from the burnt skin.

,,Wait wait I'll get the doctor yes wait darling!" she heard herself almost scream and gave him a trembling kiss as she broke away not seeing him reach out his hand to hold her to him.

Luck seemed to have mercy after all when the diagnosis of slightly burnt skin and post-traumatic stress disorder came. But he had survived, he had survived, he had survived his entire family but at least she was by his side.

,,Will it stop?" she heard his question and turned to the brown-haired man standing on the balcony of the hospital room, the wind blowing gently around them and his hand resting on hers, seeking support. She didn't need to look at him to know how he was feeling, how scared he was and how much pain he was in.

,,Maybe one day, but I don't know... but I know I'll stay with you," she replied, squeezing his hand lightly and pulling him into a hug for which he had slightly stretched out his arms.

She felt him holding her, his fingers holding her just too tightly, whispering ,,Thank you for everything for everything" and it seemed like the flames disappeared from his eyes for a moment as he saw the cool reality of being with her.

That after she was discharged from the hospital she stayed with him, stayed with him for years and decades. She helped him with the nightmares, the pain, the confusion and the day he didn't come back from his bus journey.

But she got all the love and gratitude from him, she got his heart and she got his support in every bad time. It was a decision they would both make in this deadly confusing time.

👔 you were like a lovesick puppy when it came to jeff. some would call it an obsession. it wasn't to you though

👔 the two of you were no strangers; having worked in nxt together in years past, but it was like he never noticed you

👔 kiera couldn't wrap her head around how blind you are. he always asked about you. after all: hogan does know best

👔 what you like to do outside of work. favorite things. how he should approach you

👔 she started to feel caught in the middle so she enlisted the help of one of his stablemates: tay melo. tay was a friend of yours and knew she'd want to assist

👔 tay had tampered with that switchblade comb he carries with him everywhere. you were known as a little tinkerer on the roster so she would direct him to you

👔 "i told you to stop flipping it open and closed when you don't need to." matt scolded. tay piped up to mention you could fix it

👔 "you can ask Y/N. she fixed that stereo for max and anthony, i'm sure she can fix your brush."

👔 "it's a comb, for the millionth time." he corrected her, "where can i find her?" she directed him to catering and texted kiera that the plan was in motion

👔 he found you talking to kiera. whatever it was, you seemed to be passionate about it. he saw your eyes had an even more beautiful shimmer in them as you spoke.

👔 "hey, Y/N, uh, could you maybe," he cleared his throat nervously, "maybe help me with this comb? i don't know what happened to it and i know you're great at fixing things."

👔 "uh, yeah! sit down and lemme see it?" he quickly took the now vacant seat next to you and handed you the retro hair tool. "how long have you had this? i haven't seen one of these things since my days of going to the barbershop with my nana to pick pop up." you asked as you examined the comb

👔 "i don't remember at this point, couple years now." he put his arm around the back of the chair you were sitting in and leaned closer to you; watching your eyes determine the problem

👔 a moment had passed and "ahha i see! couple screws are a little loose. easy fix." you turned your head and noticed how close he was. "is it something you can do now? it's okay if no-"

👔 he shut his mouth when he saw you remove a pin from your hair and manipulate the shape of it to accommodate the tiny screws. you pulled the loose ones out to check if they were stripped and he couldn't help but watch in awe

👔 how the piece of hair, that was now free from the tiny metal confinement, flowed to frame your pretty face perfectly. your tongue poking out through your teeth and locked in eyes focused on fixing the comb;

👔 truly lost in his own thoughts until your hand waved in front of his face gently "um, jeff? she's all fixed." you handed him the comb but he just sat there after taking it. "can i ask you something?" you nodded your head a bit

👔 "how come, after all the time we spent in nxt, did we not talk?" you thought for a second about answering with a lie. oh i don't know. maybe because you took up half my brain space? almost every other girl we worked with you flirted with but never with me? that for years 'i was completely and irrevocably in love with' you but you never even looked at me? is not what anyone needed to hear... or so you thought

👔 "is that true?" he asked. it had dawned on you that everything just spilled out when it wasn't supposed to. you would have happily taken it to the grave. you sighed, but nodded in defeat. "i thought you didn't like me. or hated me for that matter. i thought there was something wrong with me."

👔 his hand came up to your face and stroked your cheek with his thumb, "hate you? i wish i could hate you. i never thought i had a chance with you. the first day you walked into the performance center i wanted to talk to you." you noticed him looking from your eyes to your lips and back. you couldn't stop yourself from biting your lip nervously

👔 his thumb moved down to pull it from your teeth. he looked in your eyes, silently asking for permission, to which you nodded yes

Before requesting a fic or headcanons, please make sure that you have fully read through these rules and assured that the character or characters you are requesting are on my writing list.

Rules:

I am currently only writing fics based off of prompts

Headcanon requests don't need a prompt

If the request is for a prompt, please do not send in a bunch of extra plot requests with it, as this really limits my ability to be creative in my writing

If you send in a request for a fic please include the prompt number (unless the prompt doesn’t have a number), the prompt itself, the character you are requesting, and your preferred pronouns

Some cool Easter eggs I caught watching My Adventures with Superman that I want to show to people so they can be in on it with comic book readers:

(SPOILERS if you havent seen it obviously)

About 3ish minutes into the episode we see Clark be affected by red sun radiation, one of the non-Kryptonite weakness Superman has.

In the comics we first learn about this weakness in Action Comics #300 (1963), cover art by Curt Swan, George Klein, and Joe Letterese, where Superman is transported to the future by the Superman Revenge Squad, where the sun turned red thus losing his powers and has to find a way back home.

At the place where Jimmy was captured, we meet Monsieur Mallah and the Brain, at least MAwS version of these characters. I talk more about them in here. The episode has them depicted more like an old married couple with no supervillainous intentions compared to their comic counterparts...

who often associate themselves as enemies to the Doom Patrol and affliated with the Brotherhood of Evil. Also the Brain is usually French in the comics, here in MAwS, the Brain is German. The cover is from Outsiders #37 (2006) cover art by Daniel Acuna.

Back outside we see where Monsieur Mallah and the Brain took Jimmy, Cadmus Minefield.

Cadmus/Project Cadmus/the DNA Project, is known for its genetic engineering projects. The organization makes its first appearance in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #135 (1971) created by legendary comic book creator, Jack Kirby. Cadmus is pretty well known for cloning Superboy/Kon-el/Conner Kent. Like in MAwS Cadmus is a government sanctioned division that's located outside of Metropolis. Ironic since in MAwS the government disavows Cadmus. You can read more about it on these two pages from Who's Who in the DC Universe #12 (1991), the art is done by Dan Jurgens, Dennis Janke, and Anthony Tollins.

Later in the forest we see Lois and Clark have to deal with the OMACs.

In the comics, Jack Kirby created OMAC, at the time, the acronym stood for One Man Army Corp. Buddy Blank of Earth-AD (a future post-apocalyptic Earth) was selected to be part of the OMAC program where with the help of the Brother Eye satellite grants him powers of super strength, stamina and density control. The cover art here for OMAC #1 (1971) was done by Jack Kirby, Mike Royer, and Gaspar Saladino.

Years later OMAC gets reinvented to be a cyborgs of Brother Eye that was developed by Batman thanks to his paranoia about super powered heroes turning evil. The page here is from the OMAC Project #5 (W: Greg Rucka, P&I :Jesus Saiz, C: Hi-Fi, L: Phil Balsman). This iteration of OMAC uses the acronym for Omni-Mind and Community. These Cyborgs make their first appearance in the OMAC Project #1 (2005). MAwS's OMACs are a lot more robotic and Evangelion-esque designed compared to how they look in the comics. Note the mohawk/fin designs on OMACs heads in both iterations of the comics and how the robots are designed in MAwS.

Someone on the MAwS team is a fan of Gurren Lagann.

Monsieur Mallah mentions one dimensions in the universe where he and the Brain can be accepted. This brings to mind...

DC's multiverse. The multiverse makes its first appearance in the Flash #123 (1961) where Barry Allen and Jay Garrick meet for the first time. DC's multiple Earths have changed over the years from having only 52 distinct Earths to now infinite. The Multiverse map created by Grant Morrison and Rian Hughes, here is from Multiversity comic series.

Someone on the MAwS crew is a fan of the ED-209 design in Robocop.

After the fight with the OMACs, the Brain talks about the General. The only person in DC comics who usually goes by that moniker is...

General Wade Eiling. The panels here are from Captain Atom #1 (1987) (W: Cary Bates, P: Pat Broderick, I: Bob Smith, C: Carl Gafford, L: John Costanza). General Eiling is often associated with Suicide Squad/Task Force X. So it's possible that much like Parasite and Ivo, the MAwS team are combining characters by having...

him be a combination of General Eiling and General Sam Lane, Lois's dad. But who knows. Gotta wait for confirmation if this is either Eiling or Lane.
