Itto. Its Freaking Itto. NO questions about it, no arguments, no nothin. This man Yells at Raiden Shogun to blast him with Lightning in a thunderstorm, has no issue befriending anybody, has enough self confidence to sustain him through anything, and does his best to genuinely be kind to so many other people. Dainsleif could monologue to him about what happened to Khaenri'ah and not only would Itto have the best "That's Rough Buddy" energy but he would also be exactly like the "This is where my parents died," "Cowabummer" Image SDLFKJSDFLJSDLGSD On a slightly more serious note tho: Itto is one of the only existing members of the cast we've actually got proof of overcoming their insecurities and trials. Most characters are hung up by something that Has happened, Could Happen, or Will Happen. ie Zhongli and Death, Venti and the Nameless bard, Diluc and his mistakes, Kaeya and his destiny. The list goes on and on. Itto's main struggles are all in the past. He was persecuted as a child, but taken in and raised, and obviously taught the value of his own worth despite what other people say. And he caries that lesson deeply. Sometimes maybe too far, but it allows him to face adversity and his struggles with pride and reassurance. He's learned to put his 110% into everything, and not really give a rip about what other people think or how he's perceived, just that he's doing what he thinks is right, and that he is worth it. The only time we get rumbles of more serious emotional frustration from him, its usually about the safety of others (ie, Him not liking that people bother Granny Oni, Being angry that the Blue Oni sacrificed themselves, Putting his foot down about Xiao's sacrifice) He doesn't like seeing other people treated as below their value. Because he can see the value in everybody. So yeah, he spends his days clowning around, never achieving much, being thought very little of, but this man knows his worth, and he knows the worth of others, and honestly? I think that makes him pretty smart. :)

#The Scare

Synopsis; Telling genshin men that you're pregnant with their baby (you're not)

A/N; I don't know??? I really don't??? Im rlly bored.

You and your precious friend Yea Miko, were having a normal conversation like any other set of friends, but then the seemingly usual friendly conversation had turned into Miko daring you to do a rather hilarious thing in her perspective, and you being the daredevil that you are, you accepted the challenge rather gleefully.

"I'm pregnant, and its yours." You blurted, holding the most gunt expression you could muster.

"Woah, dude, no way! I'm gonna have an Oni son!" A wide grin stretched across his features. "I'm gonna be an Oni dad!" You blinked at him, not expecting his rather non-cholent reaction.

"No! Arataki, I was joking!" You laughed, abandoning your facade. "We never did it before how can it be yours?" He cocked a brow in puzzelment.

"Did what before?" He asked. You let out another laugh, thinking he was simply messing around, but when you caught the look on his face that only displayed genuine confusion, your laughter ceased.

"Haha... You know... It. The... uh baby ritual...?" You awkwardly stated, your smile fading as the perplexed look on his face stretched. His eyes blew wide and his features contorted into one of surprise.

"There's a ritual to make babies?!" He exclaimed, almost excitedly.

"No... yes... When the woman gets her egg and the man gets his... thing fluid thingy..." You murmured. He gasped.

"You guys lay eggs?!" He said. Your features twisted into one of pure disbelief. "That's cool! Can we do that too?"

'This literally can't be real.' You grimaced.

—Gorou

"Hey, Gorou." You walked into the almost inhabitant bar, sitting beside your oblivious victim.

"Oh, hello! Good to see you again." He perked up at your presence. Something close to bitterness pooled under your tongue, and perhaps the slightest hint of guilt. You cleared your throat and put on your distressed front, getting into character.

"I have something to tell you..." You looked away from him. He frowned, confused by the rather dramatic act.

"Yeah?" He said.

"I'm pregnant." You let out, turning to look at him rather dramatically. I almost laughed when the bartender flashed an almost-knowing look.

"Oh. Congra-!"

"It's yours." You were almost astounded by how quick his face morphed into a look of sheer, utter horror. The air stilled and the atmosphere fell silent, the only sound heard wLas the bartender's uncomfortable coughing. You masked your laugh with a fake sniffle, pulling out a handkerchief from your pocket and drying your imaginary tears with it.

"HUH!?" He yelled, backing up in his seat. "It can't be mine! We never...!"

"We did!" You exclaimed, covering your face. "We were both drunk and-"

"What!?" He yelled again, backing up even further. "No no no I don't do that, I don't get drunk."

"But it's true...! We were both sooo drunk, and then you picked me up- bridal style- and took me back to my home, then you started taking off your-"

"Enough!!" he fell off the chair, his face growing pale.

"Oh, but Gorou dear-"

"This can't be happening." He muttered, staring at nothing.

"Oh, dear... Can you fetch me a glass of water, please?" You turned to the bartender, who looked mildly concerned but decided it was best to mind his business. He quickly retrieved a glass of water and placed it on the counter as you kneeled down next to the Gorou and helped him up, using all your strength to quill back your chuckle.

"Let's talk about this sensibly.." You muttered as you passed him the glass of water. He quickly snatched it from your grasp, his eyes looking anywhere but at yours with his face completely flushed.

"We both made a terrible mistake that day, and... made something else in the process..." You didn't miss how he tensed up. "But we must bare responsibility for it!"

"Right... You're right.." He sighed, his gaze still averted from yours. "But are you sure you're pregnant? and are you sure it's mine!?!?" He desperately asked.

"Yes, I am sure, I haven't slept with any other man." You confessed. "Anyway, onto the matter at hand, I've already decided what we're going to name it!"

"Huh...?" He gawked at you, telepathically asking if you were being serious. "B-but we still need to figure out other things!! Like- do we get married!? and if we don't what do we tell the others!? and- oh archons... what am I going to tell her excellency...?" He clutched at his hair.

"Oh, that's just unnecessary details." You waved your hand dismissively at him.

"But-"

"So I was thinking, if it's a boy we're going to name him, 'You've been', and if it was a girl we'd name her 'Pranked'."

His mouth fell agape.

—Heizou

"I'm pleased to have you invite me to your humble abode, but I do have some business to attend to soon so I might have to leave... soon..." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Why the long face?" You shook your head.

"Don't worry about it, please have a seat" You patted the empty space on the couch next to you, and he gladly guided himself to his assigned seat. You pulled both his hands in yours prompting him to properly face you.

"Heizou, I have to tell you something very important." You stated, giving him a stern look.

"Go right ahead, I'm all ears." He flashed you another one of his charismatic smiles.

"I'm pregnant, and it's yours." His expression sure did change, but you couldn't tell what thought laid behind his deadpanned eyes.

"...Um? Heizou?" You snapped your fingers in front of his face.

"Ah! Yes! well... um..." He pursed his lips together as glanced at something behind you.

You gasped as he jumped up from his seat and sprinted past you, leaping out of your window and scurrying away from your home.

"YOU BASTARD!!" You yelled out from your window. "This makes me think like he's done this to someone else before..."

—Wanderer (In other words, Scaramouche)

You sucked in a breath as the man covered in striking blue attire stared at your form, his expression full of disdain. He doesn't appreciate his precious time being wasted by some mortal, however, he doesn't hold much resentment toward you to shoo you away.

"Thank you for hearing me out." You said.

"Yeah yeah, just get on with it." He clicked his tongue, crossing his arms.

"I'm pregnant... and it's yours." You revealed, your eyes downcast. You slowly peaked your eyes up when the infamous wanderer kept silent for longer than expected, and was greated by a judgmental glare.

"What do you take me for?? an idiot?" He hissed, his scowl deepening.

"Whatever do you mean?" You placed a hand over your chest.

"You think I can't see through your facade??" He glared.

"I don't understand-"

"I'm a puppet, (Y/n), for Archon's sake! I don't produce semen." He waved his hand out in exaggeration, showcasing his frustration. Your lips parted then clamped shut, realization setting in.

"Oh..." You scratched your cheek. "I didn't think of that..."

"I can't believe you wasted my time for this."

Perilous Trails is not the best representation for Itto...

Itto is a very hard character to comprehend. The base is simple : a troublemaker with a heart of gold, and while he might be all over the place and a bit too competitive for his own good, he has morals that he strictly sticks to.

But in practice it's actually more complicated to show this balance in him than you might think. You have to make him careless enough so that the 'trouble' and 'himbo' parts of his personality are present, but responsible enough to ensure he respects the "Oni Pride".

He do whatever he wants because of the Oni Pride, he's not going to put on a picture perfect act when it's not who he is. But whatever he wants at the end is fairness, equality and the safety of others. And winning in the process is a pretty big bonus.

And while this quest shows some understanding of Itto, (we all saw him punching the door, i'm not going to pretend like it's not something Itto would do because it is, and it's hella funny.) it also lacks some understanding in the other aspects of this character.

For example when he puts up a fight with Yelan at the beginning of the quest. Yes Yelan is an authority figure in this case, yes Itto doesn't care in the slightest if an authority figure approves his decision or not (unless it's Granny Oni or Kuki Shinobu) and he shows it quite well in his character quest with the Tenryou Commission.

But this is not the same context here. He is in an unknown land, in a unknown place and is trying to keep his "savior" (Yanfei) safe. And a random women who quite seem to know what she's doing tells him that this place is dangerous and he shouldn't stay here.

His morals clearly indicates that he should not back down against injustice. And it's clear in this moment that this is not injustice, Yelan is trying to keep everyone safe, including Yanfei.

So based on everything I said so far, it doesn't make much sense that he would get angry against Yelan. He would bargain, try to convince Yelan that he is capable of surviving down here by proposing a duel or even convince everyone to get out of this place and get to safety, meanwhile he and Yelan will do whatever Yanfei needed to do in her place so that she doesn't have to be in danger.

And I get that they needed to put a fight here so that everyone would get stuck in the timeloop (or timehole, i don't know how to describe it). I get that they needed to have some kind of tension beforehand so that you could clearly see them slowly warming up to each other and forming the best of teams.

But this is exactly where the difficulty of storytelling is. You have a bunch of characters with their own flaws and strengths, you have a situation in which you want to put them in and now you have to use those flaws and strengths to make it work. It's not an easy work, no one said otherwise here.

But the fact that this is complicated doesn't mean you can rough up a character's personality, even just a little, so that everything works. The writers could have added some kind of pre existing tension between Yelan and Kuki, a sort of cold relationship like Diluc and Kaeya. Kuki has been to Liyue, Itto considers Kuki as part of the gang and thus a part of his family, so if Yelan let out some passive aggressive comment about Kuki because of some pre existing tension due to an old event between the two of them, then Itto would get mad.

Then Itto would want to fight her, then the situation goes wrong and boum they are stuck in timeloop/timehole.

Same thing for when Itto decided to knock a wall with all his strength to make the arguing stop. The part that triggers me here is not his sacrifice for the good of others, he is able to do that, it's the fact that he does this without saying anything before hand.

Itto is anything but silent that's for certain. Before doing that he would at least yell a big "shut up" to everyone. Maybe he could yell that, hit the wall and say to or three sentences before fainting, because of course he wouldn't have planned the part where something bad would happen to him. He would have thought that he could still have some force left in him after that, because he is full of hope and would only hope for the best.

But in my opinion having him unconscious for the second half of the quest wasn't the best idea in the first place. Firstly because I absolutely adore him and he is literally my main, so having a quest with him being conscious only half of the time isn't what I can call satisfying.

Secondly because at the end for Xiao's sacrifice, I would have absolutely loved it if Yelan AND Itto were the one to go and get him. I mean the two people who caused this whole thing (not entirely, but if they didn't fought in the first place...). Itto would never want to see someone close to him sacrifice themselves for him, Yelan cannot allow that to happen again.

One of them is spontaneous enough to jump, the other one is protective (and traumatized) enough to jump. I don't see why this didn't happen to be honest.

Well on the subject of Itto, I headcanon him being 6'6 ft tall... Why??? Because it makes his voiceline about everybody shorter than him being a child really funny. 🤣 Also because he beeg and you can't convince me otherwise SDLFJSDLJGSLDGSD OOOOH Okay this one is very much a headcanon i have for pure self indulgence: So my two genshin blorbos of main focus are Zhongli and Diluc right? I like to headcanon that, at some point after Diluc was nearly killed by the harbingers, he collapsed somewhere near Liyue harbor (His injuries probably weren't directly related to the Harbinger ones, tho it depends on the amount of time it's taken between That incident and him being in Liyue, I think I came up with this idea LONG before i really understood a lot of what Diluc actually did away from home xD) he's found and carried to Liyue, where he's tended to, probably by Baizhu cause I love Baizhu, and recovers. Its here he's visited by Zhongli. Zhongli knew Crepus. Not super well! They weren't besties or nothin, but Crepus would be in Liyue, and Zhongli would be in Liyue, both of them having some level of prestige, Zhongli through his job and Crepus through his Titles, ended up meeting. They would talk and of course that means Zhongli heard about Diluc. Beyond that even, Zhongli was probably vaguely aware of Diluc's existence just from the fact that Crepus is a Ragnvindr, which means gossip/news on his family spreads potentially across the globe. (And maybe Zhongli checked in once in a while out of honor to a dear friend he hadn't seen in five hundred years...) ANYWAYS. Zhongli introduces himself and mentions he knew Crepus. A grieving Diluc probably asks for more information without really knowing if he wants more info or not. Its through this that Zhongli learns of Crepus's passing, and Diluc being less well put together from his injuries, ends up confessing to having hurt Kaeya. He despairs of ever being able to make up for it, to which Zhongli is surprisingly quiet and attentive before finally speaking up: "...Life is short, like the flower, it blooms for a season, blossoms in all its color and beauty, and then it shrivels away on the winds, nothing left of it but the Sweetness of memory." He pauses. "If you care about your brother, than return to him, confess your wrong doings, and don't let the burden of you mistakes carry until such a time as the ability to do something about them is force-ably taken away from your hands." The mans smile is soft, but sad. Not in a pitying way, and not in a way that is even directed at Diluc, if anything, he seems thousands of miles away. "There are fewer burdens, and fewer regrets, that can weigh heavier." This of course creates a fun dynamic to play around with if Lumine or other events drag Diluc to Liyue later >:D As for AU's I can give you two I've dwelled on!: Number one is an Inazuma rewrite, but I bring in a party of my chosing. I started this one before I played the game, so I didn't exaclty understand what went down in the INazuma plot, but Man I was having fun so xD THe party of choice in this case was Zhongli, Diluc, Thoma, and of course Lumine. I had fun with this idea because it allowed Zhongli and Diluc to function in the plot, and Thoma would be WAAAAY more involved as well. I didn't iron out Loads of details, but I wanted there to be a big confrontation between Lumine and Zhongli based off the fact that Azhdaha's quest happened before Inazuma, and before that was uh. THe reveal of Khaenri'ah. Needless to say Lumine's not exactly feeling the greatest about Zhongli. But she considers him a friend, or at least wants too. Zhongli is dealing with the sting of a pre-inazuma plot confrontation from Lumine, where she confessed that she'd have a hard time trusting him if he kept keeping secrets and he couldn't explain himself.

The two of them were planned to get into a huge fight that ALMOST gets physical. But Diluc stops them (Something something he knows making the mistake of attacking someone you love out of fear and broken trust 🙃) This ends up splitting the party for a while, Diluc going off with Zhongli, and Thoma staying with Lumine. Ultimately I wanted this to end with Zhongli getting to have a bit Showdown with Raiden Shogun, essentially kinda getting to brute force his way into her grief. I always loved the idea of the woman who can't move on from grief talking with the man who has suffered so much grief but still lives, this would kinda allow that, it would also allow for Zhongli to be a little bit of a father figure to Ei in her frustrations and grief. Also it would be hilarious if Inazuma kinda knew Rex Lapis was alive... but he kinda saved all their butts, so nobody's going to out him xD This would essentially spiral into a lot of canon divergence plots and development for the cast of characters that's just, not in canon? But man I still think it'd be so fun :D Also Diluc and Ei eventually become friends through this adsflJSFLSJDLGJSLDGJSDGSDG. I think they could help each other :) The SECOND AU is one where, Diluc, on his journey, ends up getting stuck in Inazuma before he can get home. So diluc is visionless, Has the Delusion, and is not in good health. Itto ends up finding him passed out on a beach, drags him back to Granny Oni's, and his gang nurse him back to health all while assuming Diluc was a victim of the Vision hunt decree (i think the vision hunt decree is pretty recent in canon?? This would be an AU where the timeline got bumped up, probably Raiden starts off a lot slower with the vision hunts, only taking a few of them once in a great while to further "eternity" Until she spirals bad enough to start taking them all.... IDK its rough but workable maybe xD) THis AU is mostly for letting Itto bully Diluc into loving himself among other things xD and the angst of it taking even longer for Diluc and Kaeya to reunite...... WHich i would defo make them reunite when Lumine comes over to finally end the Vision hunt decree soooooooooo >:3 Diluc ends up getting adopted by the Arataki gang, by EVERY member, and he's not happy about it (He is, he's just a freaking tsundere)

–Diluc

Diluc walks into the room whilst you twirl around before your mirror, admiring the new skirt you bought a few days ago. A joyful grin plastered on your face. Diluc feels anger flow through his veins.

"Kitten, where do you think you're going?" he growls, hands clenched by his side. You flinch and whip your head around, eyes widening at your angered lover.

"outside?" Your voice comes out as a meek whisper. He feels his eyebrow twitch.

"In that?!" He barks.

"y-y-yes?"

"No-" His body starts to twitch as he clutches at his hair. "I can't hold it! I can feel it come out! I can feel the alpha in me!" You gasp, falling to the ground in fear. He collapses to the ground, and as you were about to scoot over and check on him, he arises. His body towers over you, his figure ten times larger than a few moments before, his head almost hits the ceiling. The mega alpha in him has been released.

"tsk tsk, you shouldn't have done that kitten. You've made daddy mad. time for your punishment." He howls.
