I was tagged by my good friend @purenerd !!
Rules: Answer these 15 questions and then tag 10 people.
1. What is your degree / favorite subject?
I鈥檓 majoring in Information Technology and Informatics (specifically, I鈥檓 studying Web Design), minoring in Creative Writing, and getting a certificate in Recording Arts!! My interests are all over the place.
2. Where are you from?
I鈥檓 from the United States and I live in the Eastern time zone. That鈥檚 as specific as I鈥檓 willing to get, sorry!!
3. What motivates you to study?
I鈥檓 motivated by the people I look up to, by my friends, and by myself. The people I look up to remind me that it takes hard work to achieve goals and that nothing is easy but anything is possible as long as I work hard. My friends remind me that I can get through whatever seemingly impossible task is聽in front of me and support me at my worst and my best. I remind myself that I鈥檓 finally studying what I love, something I鈥檝e dreamed for a long time, and that there鈥檚 so much ahead of me that I can accomplish as long as I keep doing my best and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. And, well, there鈥檚 also the fact that I have to keep a pretty high GPA to stay in my program. At the end of the day, though, I love what I鈥檓 studying and even though it鈥檚 difficult at times, I just remind myself of my goals, that I鈥檓 exactly where I鈥檓 supposed to be right now, and that I should never give up.
4. What do you love about yourself?
I love that I dream really big and that when I care about something, I really聽care about something. I feel very strongly about what I love, and it鈥檚 often that passion that motivates me to get stuff done.
5. What time do you do your best studying?
Anytime from early afternoon to early evening.
6. What is your favorite TV show?
Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place... basically anything Mike Schur writes.
7. Best self-care tip for exam season.
As important as it is to spend a lot of time studying, make sure you also take the time to do something for yourself, whether it be watching a movie you love, hanging out with friends, or taking a nap!! It鈥檒l make exam season much less dreadful and refresh your brain before you study some more. Also, make sure you sleep enough and eat well.
8. Do you listen to music when you study?
Usually, yes. Music is what makes studying and doing homework more fun for me. Most of the time I just put one of my playlists or my whole Spotify library on shuffle, but sometimes I鈥檒l listen to a specific album. There are occasionally times when I鈥檒l get too overwhelmed for music and just need to work in silence, but that doesn鈥檛 happen too often. And, of course, when I鈥檓 working with friends around, I don鈥檛 put headphones in.
9. What is your favorite book?
Oh, gosh. I鈥檓 afraid to even try to answer this question!! I guess if I had to narrow it down to a few, I鈥檇 choose Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, the Shades of Magic series by V. E. Schwab, and What If It鈥檚 Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera. Yes, I鈥檝e read it. Yes, it鈥檚 perfect. Yes, you should absolutely get it once it comes out.
10. Where do you do your best studying?
Either in the library or in my room.
11. What do you get complimented on often?
I don鈥檛 know? Sometimes I get complimented on my handwriting, though it really isn鈥檛 that great. My friends tell me I can write well, though I don鈥檛 share my writing with other people very often.
12. Where would you like to live in the future?
NEW. YORK. CITY. I鈥檝e spent so much time there over the course of my life, and it really has everything I need: musical theater (and regular theater), concerts, good food, good bookstores, public transportation (I hate driving and would much rather depend on my own two legs and the subway to get around), and more! There are also so many opportunities there for聽web design, writing, and music production, so I could pursue any and all of those without having to move around. What鈥檚 funny is that if you鈥檇 asked me this same question a year ago, I would have said Los Angeles. What鈥檚 even funnier is that until a few years ago, I HATED going to New York City since I consistently got sick every single time I went. Who knows where I鈥檒l actually end up, but as of now, New York City is the goal.
13. How long have you been active on your studyblr?
I鈥檝e had this blog since March 21, 2016, but I haven鈥檛 been the most consistent with posting on it. My goal for this year is to be more active both here and on my new studygram : )
14. Favorite way to spend study breaks?
I love watching TV, writing, reading, and hanging out with my friends.
15. What is your favorite study snack?
I love pretzels and Cheez-Its, though I鈥檓 trying to get out of the habit of eating while I鈥檓 studying.

So I鈥檝e had a fair few requests regarding the contents of my pencil case, as well as being partially inspired by @arielsstudies, so here鈥檚 my What鈥檚 In My Pencil Case for 2017!
Firstly, my pencil case itself is the archer pencil case from Typo, which I鈥檝e had since the beginning of last year and which I LOVE because it鈥檚 got two compartments!
Image 2 is my black pens (both ballpoint and gel and from Typo and Kikki K respectively), my ruler, my rubber/sharpener duo, my lead pencils, my white out correction pen, and my three sharpies and my whiteboard marker, which I use for my FPS coaching!
Image 3 is my staedtler tripus fineliners, my stabilo boss original highlighters and my sticky flags, which I use for my text annotations in both English and Literature! These, in conjunction with everything in Image 2, go in the larger back compartment!
Finally, image 4 is my blue and red pens, which reside in the smaller front compartment! In case you can鈥檛 tell, I鈥檓 relatively picky with my pens, with my blue pen of choice being the pilot BPS-GP and my favourite red pen being the pilot BL-G2 in a 0.07 nib!
So that鈥檚 everything in my pencil case this year, and a small insight into the case of a VCE student!

New to the studyblr community! After months of following studyblr blogs I鈥檝e finally had the courage and motivation to create my own.
A little about me:
-My name is Emily
-I鈥檓 17
-I鈥檓 Canadian
-I鈥檓 in grade 11
- Attempting to teach myself Japanese
-For as long as I can remember I鈥檝e always wanted to go into law
-I write probably wayyy too much on stories I鈥檒l most likely never post/publish
-I have two dogs and they鈥檙e my babies
For the past several years I鈥檝e had a hard time with attending school and putting effort into any work I鈥檝e done. I鈥檝e come to the realization that I need to change in order to reach my goals. I can鈥檛 continue to live just doing things half assed or just not at all. Due to my bad habits, I鈥檓 currently five courses behind where I should be and I have to take an extra year of high school.
I鈥檓 hoping having this blog will remind me of the goals I have (e.g. Graduate from high school, go to university, go to law school, etc) and will help keep me on track and not fall into old bad habits. I鈥檓 hoping having this blog will push me in the right direction.
This is my journey of getting back on track and getting rid of bad habits, so I can reach my goals in the future. This is me trying my hardest to get through school and try to get good grades.
A few studyblrs that have inspired me are: @emmastudies @notesworthtea @studyblr @intellecta @sadgirlstudying @studypetals @tbhstudying @studie-s @legallychic @izzystudies @arielsstudies

So as you all know, 2018 is almost here, and I鈥檓 sure I鈥檓 not the only one with a whole list of new year鈥檚 resolutions that I hope to keep after January 1st. I have many resolutions specifically related to my studies and my studyblr, so I figured I would share them with you all!! Hopefully sharing them will increase the likelihood that I will actually accomplish them.
Post more regularly, especially studyspo, how-to posts, and masterposts
Improve my handwriting
Try some calligraphy and hand lettering
Try writing some of my notes by hand on my iPad instead of typing all of them
Making my notes prettier and more organized overall
Be more productive with my time
Journal every day
Do the absolute best I can and give my all to everything I work on
I hope you all are having a lovely last few days of 2017, and I wish you all the best in 2018!! If you want to share your resolutions with me, I鈥檇 love to hear them :1
