It was now 6 am in the morning and usually, at this hour, Katsuki would be carrying his snoozing son in his arms while he got his things to drop him off to his parents and left for work. But today is different.
“I’m dropping you off at school tomorrow,” Katsuki said turning his back to his son and proceeding with cooking.
“Really!?” His son excitedly said, eyes gleaming with joy. “My classmates get to see you!”
“Yeah, yeah. Make sure you got the things you needed for school so there won't be a problem tomorrow morning.” Katsuki said.
Once he was done cooking, he took two small bowls from the kitchen cabinet and a pair of chopsticks before placing them all down on the dining table. He then moved back to the kitchen and grab the dish he made and place it on the table as well. “Oi. Time to eat.” He called out. But as soon as he went to check the living room, he saw no one.
“Tch.” He tched. “Kazui!! Get down here and eat!”
“Yes! I’m coming, i’m coming!” His son yelled and arrived, running downstairs from his room. “I was just packing the stuff I need as you said!”
“Don’t run down the stairs, brat!” Katsuki crossed his arms as he watched his son make himself comfortable. Hearing a small sorry from him made Katsuki ruffle his child’s hair before sitting down beside him.
Katsuki was taking his time preparing their breakfast. A simple egg and fried rice in the morning would be healthy enough for both of them. Once breakfast is done, he searches for his son’s school lunch bag before grabbing the bento box from its drying shelf. Settling the bento box on the kitchen counter, he made his way to his fridge where he grab three pieces of strawberries and sliced them into bite sizes, two pieces of bread pudding, and an orange juice box. He brought out the sausages he prepared earlier from the microwave to keep them hot and place all his son’s lunch in his bento box and put it inside the bag along with the chopsticks.
Katsuki was used to this manner by now, especially since he is convinced that him, preparing his son’s lunch would be so much better rather than his mother who he was a hundred percent convinced that Mitsuki would give Kazui sweets that were unhealthy. The only difference today is he’ll be dropping him off at school.
Thanks to Kirishima taking an early shift, he manages to fit this into his schedule.
Once everything was completed, Katsuki made his way to his son’s room. Knocking oh so quietly before inviting himself in.
“Oi. It's time to wake up.” Katsuki said as he stood by the bed. Although, seeing his son didn't move an inch made him raise his voice a bit. “Brat. Time to go to school.” His second attempt at waking him up seems to work when he saw him shift under his blanket before slowly sitting up, hair disheveled.
“Papa..” Kazuo mumbled rubbing his eyes.
Katsuki's gaze softened. Boy, he was glad that his son looks exactly like him. The only difference he can see was Kazui’s hair looking a bit smooth due to his ex-wife's straight ones unlike his spiky ones, and no permanent scowl.
“Come on. Breakfast’s ready.” Katsuki said. He saw his son raise his arms asking to be lifted up which Katsuki did without breaking a sweat. “And there I thought you were a big boy now,” he mumbled. He exited the room and went down to the kitchen where he seated his son on his chair.
An hour and a half passed and both father and son were now ready to leave. Kazui has his backpack on and Katsuki was now wearing his work clothes. He got everything ready before they both depart their home and directed straight to their garage where his auto was waiting.
While Katsuki was arranging his son’s car seat, he felt Kazui tug his pants from outside the car. “What is it?” He asked while concentrating on what he was doing.
“Why aren't you in your hero costume?” Kazui asked a bit sad that his classmate won't be able to witness his dad wearing his hero suit.
“My suit remains inside my office where I change. Plus wearing my suit while dropping you off at school would be risky. I don't want any villain striking your school just because they saw me drop you off.” Katsuki said. “Get in.” He added and secure the belt around Kazui who was now seated and closed the car door once the belt was secured. He then gets into the driver’s seat and fastened his seatbelt before he starts the engine and drove off.
The drive was peaceful and quiet. Katsuki is focusing on the road while his son watches everything pass by. Although, this quietness of his son sometimes makes him wonder where he got it from. Not from him, nor his mother that's for sure.
His train of thought was cut off when the school was within his eyesight. Katsuki slightly stepped on the gas and reached the front of the school where he saw a lot of kids being dropped off by their parents. Once he saw where he could park, he turned off the engine. But as soon as he exited his car, people around him started looking.
"Oh, my god. It's Dynamight."
"Mommy look! A hero!"
"Dynamight is here!"
Katsuki tched at this, especially when he saw they started coming closer. But he paid them no mind and went to the back passenger seat where Kazui was waiting for him.
Katsuki open the car door, unfastened his seatbelt, and then helped him get off the car. When Kazui was off, Katsuki slam the car door shut. It was loud enough to let the people around him hear.
"Didn't know there would be a lot of people around here at this hour. Should've fucking gotten my disguise." Katsuki mumble.
"Papa, language." His son scowled at him grabbing his papa's hand.
"Shut it," Katsuki answered and grasp his hand as they both crossed the road.
Once they get to the other side, Katsuki saw a woman that seems to be younger than him exit the building. Her (Hair Length) (Hair color) hair swayed with the wind as she greeted every parent with a smile.
"Look, papa! It's Ms. Y/n!"

On today's episode of I Work In A Comic Shop:
So on Sundays, I run D&D games for kids (ages ranging about 6-16). It's fun, we goof around a lot and I let them get away with most things in-game as long as they can semi-reasonably justify how it'd happen.
And something I do often, when the kids start looking for every single detail about NPC #4534 because they've decided he's Very Very Important™️, is to just stick in a reference to some random movie. (For example: "This townsperson's name is Billiam S. Preston Esquire, and his buddy Teddy Bear Logan is missing! If he doesn't return soon, then Wyld Stallyns will lose their concert gig at the local tavern!") If the kids get it, it's a fun easter egg, and if they don't, then at least I didn't have to come up with a fantasy name on the spot.
My latest adventure involved a battle with a gang of skeletons, after which their scattered bones start wriggling towards the source of the dark magic that animated them in the first place.
Tumblr media
And I'm struck with what I consider to be a bit of brilliance.
So, we're playing, and we reach the end of the battle. I explain that the bones are all moving eastwards, and then I add:
"You're reminded of the legend of old, of the great adventurer Hiro and his mighty companion Baymax, who tracked a pack of magical nanobots to their evil master using a single hostage bot."
Now the table erupts in laughter, and I'm feeling pretty good. But then we realize that the youngest of our party (an 8-year-old) looks confused at what's so funny. He doesn't get the reference.
I'm naturally surprised - this is a well-known Disney movie, I figure pretty much all the kids know it. But apparently he hasn't seen it. And so I quickly google the release date of Big Hero Six.
It is 2014. Nine years ago. In other words, the movie is older than this kid. And I am immediately hit by the passage of time like a truck.

As much as I love Adam for a few fun parts of his character and for what he could have been at the hands of a competent writer (as shown by the fanfics where he gets properly developed)...
I feel like he (and the way he's characterised) is what broke Hazbin hotel season 1 pacing, Lucifer's character and the show's overall atmosphere.
Tumblr media
(Long and packed rant under the cut, because I've been having these thoughts since I saw season 1, and I want to share them. Viewer discretion is adviced)
Before Adam existed (pilot era) it was all simple and worked more properly: a story about the hotel and its inhabitants, and most importanty, redemption. It was a small snuggly location with a few characters in the center of a plot
Heaven was in the background and kept as a mystery. Moreover, from what we've seen in the pilot, Lucifer was obviously a background villain or at least an anti hero, one of the real obstacles for Charlie to overcome on the way to her goal (instead of a minor inconveniece resolved in a single broadway song)
But when Adam and his weird obsession with murder broke into that perfectly cut out premise, everything just shattered. Too many themes got weaved into the short story of the 8 episodes: Heaven vs Hell politics, overlords, war, Charlie's conflict with Adam, the seraphims...
All of that pushed the hotel and the redemption to the background instead of Heaven.... in a cartoon that's named after the hotel. Because 8 episodes is not enough to talk about politics, a war and a 6 month redemption course (the latter even happened behind the screen with only some verbal hints given about the amazing secretive progress the hotel guests made that we were not allowed to see!)
(Had this cartoon stayed indie, there would have been a possibility of making more episodes and tackling more themes properly. But big name broadway actors are more important than that, it appears)
Back to Adam.
He is not even a good villain. He really should have been more of a background antihero. Give the man some sedatives, for f's sake! Where did all that rabidity even come from, after centuries of living in Heaven? Honestly, he'd be expected to act calmer and wiser than how he actually did, especially with how old he is (as old as the earth itself). But instead it's like he got frozen in a state of a dumb jock bully from high school
Imagine if Adam allowed Charlie and her hotel guests to prove that redemption is possible, out of principle, or curiosity. Hell, maybe even allow him to threaten to kill them, but not straight away! Later, after they fail to prove him wrong! If that's what Adam's role had been, the hotel part would have gotten time to breathe and more spotlight
All Adam did in the series, was:
1. make a lot of excessive noise
2. do dumbass things (and it wasn't even explained WHY he's the way he is, not even a single flashback or his own musings and thoughts shown, which makes all of his actions fall flat in every sense)
3. break the remains of logic (Heaven looks plain dumb because of him, not able to tell sinning from non sinning and to judge human souls properly. It's not even corruption, since Adam is not that important or benefitial to Heaven, an actual archangel like Michael could have been leading exorcists in his place and do a better job.... it's just stupidity)
And then Adam just died, for nothing and with no consequences.
I mean, straight after Adam's death Lucifer is immediately trying to divert the viewer's attention: "who wants pancakes? :D". It's like the cartoon itself doesn't care that the first human, one of the most mysterious beings in vivzieverse and someone who badly needed a second chance and therapy, just died. By a very stupid joke too (Niffty didn't even have to stab him).
In short, Adam's plotline is a huge waste of screen time...
And while his final smile to Lute may give us some hints that there's something good inside Adam, but it's more akin to mockery. Since we were never shown that there's more to Adam besides "the main character's opponent=ultimate bad"
And of course Lucifer was retconned into a pathetic uwu boi, who's depression and "silliness" have overshadowed the fact that he practically doomed humanity to a life full of pain, suffering and surviving and took away Adam and Eve's home. We don't even get the slightest glimpse of what exactly Lucifer DREAMED of that was so important to force him to do the humans dirty. Meaning it was something abstract and not thought-through anyway.
(Free will my ass.. Adam and Lilith did as they pleased in Eden without the free will, Adam ordering his wives around, Lilith being able to defy him and Eve being able to disobey God. What good did "free will" from that fruit even do them? If anything, it only did harm to everyone)
And so now this daft egotist is being portrayed as this selfless harmless character only for the sake of contrasting the painfully obvious bad evil that Adam is.
That comes off as black and white writing, fit more for a childrens cartoon, despite the show critisizing Adam for thinking in black and white terms. Not a good look

Um you asked for prompts and I was thinking if you could pretty please write Pepper breaking up with Tony, and well although it was hard he moved on and after a while he started dating Peter feeling loved, and maybe altough Pepper was the one that ended the relationship she wasn't able to move even though she tried. She tried to find a way to get back with Tony thinking maybe Peter was just a phase and a notch in Tony's belt, but she was very wrong, and now has to carry with her mistake. Thank you, and I hope you have a good time on your time off ❤️❤️
It's been a year and half since Pepper gave Tony back the engagement ring. The last near death heroic save the day experience was a bit much. The last straw as she told Tony.
She packed up her bags and moved out to work from California. She was leaving Tony, not the company.
After a year, Tony and Pepper were back as friends. Tony even came out to California to show Peter the office there.
He told Pepper that Peter had never seen a true beach. It was a short visit, but it brought back memories. And she started to really miss Tony.
But a month later, when she called Tony; wanted to tell him she was thinking of coming back to New York. Friday answered and said that Tony was busy but if it was an emergency she would patch her through.
" Lab time isn't a reason to close people out. Patch me through"
" I'm sorry Ms. Potts but Boss is not in the lab. He is out on a date."
That caused Pepper to pause. Friday wouldn't have divulged that unless she was making a point. Tony was off limits to her now.
Then a few weeks go by and she tells Tony during one of there weekly business calls that she plans on making a trip out to New York. Probably will stay a few months, maybe more. Tony was fine with it, tells her he will set up a floor in the tower with her.
She wasn't expecting to have a floor so much lower then what she expected. There were more then 15 floors between the lab and closer to 20 between Tony's private quarters.
After a few weeks, Pepper finally finds out who Tony is dating.
" This meeting is important Tony! Even if you only stop in for 20 minutes."
" I'm going to be upstate with my boo. I could video in. Maybe. But depending on how busy I am" Tony wiggles his eyebrows and has a big smile on his face. "But then again Peter might take away lab time again if I put off my duties..."
Pepper rolls her eyes. " Whatever Peter has to get you to do your job. Then you can go run off with your boo. "
" Well seeing them as one and the same thats easier said then done"
"What?"
Tony pauses and spins around in his chair that was at his work station. He watches Pepper for a moment, head tilted, before his eyes widen and he snaps his fingers.
" Ah... you don't know. I'm dating Peter..."
" Teenaged Spiderman??"
"Hold on now! He is 21 now and its only been for the last 6 months. I thought I told you?"
Pepper rolled her eyes. " You said you were dating a pretty young thing. Not your one-time fake intern hero worshiping Spiderman little genius this could cause such a scandal Tony!"
" No scandal! Everything by the books. We are fine Pep"
Shaking her head, she sighed, " If you say so, Tony, but at least warn me so I can run P.R. when you are done"
Tony didn't talk to her for a week after that. But Pepper knows Tony. He indulges too much. He will either get bored with Peter once the novelty runs out, or Peter will break it off when he gets jealous of how much Pepper knows Tony.
Pepper easily slotted herself back into Tony's life. Everything was pretty much the same. The only thing is she just wasn't physical with him like before and that she wasn't going to bed with him. But they acted the same.
She had a secret weapon, though, her red suit. Custom designed by Tony, his favorite hot rod red color, Tony could NEVER resist her in his suit he made. At around midnight, she walked down to the lab, and she frowned when the door wouldn't open.
" Friday, I need to speak to Tony"
" I apologize Ms. Potts but Boss is unavailable"
" Its important Friday, just open the door."
" Let me clarify. Boss isn't in the lab. Peter has already carried Tony off to bed. Tonight was date night and Tony is required to sleep a minimum of 6 hours. "
Pepper blinks and stares. She has never been able to get Tony out of the lab. Ever. The most she ever got was sweeping in, they leave to make love, and then Tony would leave her to come back. Only two hours of sleep if they shared a bed from Tony, if that.
Tony has never given up lab time. For anyone. But for Peter it seems.
It dawns on her. She has seen Peter hand things to Tony. Peter putting a reassuring hand on Tony. Peter brings food to Tony to make sure he eats. Peter is working alongside Tony in the lab. Tony appears more relaxed. He seems less stressed and happy.
The familiar ache starts in her chest.
She has missed her chance.

Can you please do Cevans characters as Dads to a baby girl?
Yess this is so cute! 🥺
(For this HC, their daughters are 5-6 years old!)
Andy Barber
Tumblr media
Andy is a very ‘practical’ dad. He likes to take the role of teaching and passing on things, - like teaching his daughter how to tie her shoes and show how to cook and make lunch so she can pack for school herself. Breaking communication barriers and acknowledging his daughter's feelings is something he does well and early on to ensure he has a healthy relationship with his baby girl.
He believes independence is important to teach his daughter so she won't let society tell her what she should do when she grows up. But of course, he finds it also important to remind her how family matters too, and that he and you (the mother) will always be there to guide her when she needs help.
Ransom Drysdale
Tumblr media
Ransom spoils his sweet baby girl just like he spoils his wife; gifting his daughter pretty dresses and clothes, big playhouses and all the Barbies she can wish for. It’s hard to distinguish your daughter’s birthday and regular days.
He is very protective over his baby girl too. He knows boys can be ruthless, - he would know because he was a ruthless boy too, and if a boy dares make his daughter feel insecure at school, he will make sure they meet his wrath. Teaching in a parental way is something Ransom leaves to his wife, but sometimes he is able to use the right words to give his daughter the encouragement she needs.
Steve Rogers
Tumblr media
Steve wants to show his daughter the wonders of the world, despite how dark it can turn. He is like a guardian angel to his baby girl; Always keeping her safe and making sure she feels safe while having exploring the world. Their special way of bonding is him writing letters to her, - their 'top secret way' of communicating with each other.
While Steve usually hides his vulnerability often, he makes an exception with his daughter (and his wife of course) so she can see him beyond the hero facade, - someone who is first and foremost her dad and human.
Johnny Storm
Tumblr media
There's plenty of father daughter activities with Johnny. He practically takes his daughter with him all the time, - even at work. Johnny likes buying his daughter designer clothes so she can be the cool girl of her school, even if she's only 6. He was the cool kid of his time, and he wants his daughter's time to shine through.
Johnny will definitely show off his daughter by doing photo shoots with her, winning the hearts of the people. He claims his baby girl is the cutest thing in existence, and no one can be cuter than her. Giving his daughter self confidence is important to him so he can make her believe she can do anything as long as she has the passion for it.
Jake Jensen
Tumblr media
Jake loves being involved in his daughter’s playtime activities. Jake’s back is reserved for piggyback rides with his daughter, and he will gladly carry her all the time because it’s not a hassle at all. He does not mind if she wants to put make up on him and play dress up, or have him at her tea party together with her stuffed animals. To him it’s all worth being made fun of by his teammates if he gets his daughter’s face to light up.
It's all about being present in more ways than one that means something for Jake. Being grateful for the moments taking place and the memories they create will be Jake's legacy to his daughter.
Ari Levinson
Tumblr media
Ari adores his daughter, - always pouring attention into her during his free time because the least thing he wants to happen is for her to feel neglected or distance herself from him. His daughter can count on him actually listening when she has something new she wants to show or tell him.
He likes to point out similarities with his daughter, so they can have something special to bond over between them. Whether it being going to the beach to catch crabs or go pick blueberries in the forest, - it's an adventure to his daughter and therefore an adventure to him.
Tumblr media
N/A: Thank you for the suggestion, anon! <3 Hope you like it!
Hearts & Reblogs are very appreciated! <3

DaveFarts - Episode 24 “Windy Mountain”[Episode List]
Another summer, another camping trip for our heroes… and an even smaller tent than last time. On the mountain, the sounds of nature finally meet their match as Dave’s farts reach new heights in terms of loudness and power.
POV: Tim
Windy Mountain “Rise and shine, bro!”
I was woken up by a sudden thunder, a thunder which was accompanied by a peculiar scent. Considering how I could see a clear blue sky outside (somebody opened the window in my room), as my eyes adjusted to the light I recognised Dave’s ass in a pair of white basketball shorts hovering over me, effortlessly erupting a powerful morning blast directly on my face.
I probably woke up halfway through the rip, which was already around 10 seconds long. A short morning fart, for my friend’s high standards. The stench hit me and triggered my flight or fight response, effectively waking me up more efficiently than any alarm clock could. I pushed my friend’s ass away (as he kept farting), trying to remember what year it was.
“Alright, alright. I’m awake!”
Dave turned around and greeted me with a smile.
“Come on, we’re right on schedule.” he stated.
“Should I thank you or your ass?”
Dave simply looked up, making a funny facial expression, and ripped a quick loud one.
“Yes.” he simply replied, and left the room.
Those were natural, not even on command, but honestly who could tell the difference? Dave always had a fart ready, like you could ask him out of the blue to rip one and he’d probably be more than happy to go beyond your wildest expectations. One of his many talents: the incredible farts are like the cherry on top of this wonderful friend I’m lucky to have, a cherry that pleases my embarrassing and disgusting kink, a kink that, for some reason, my bud is completely okay with, getting some good immature laughs every time he teases me.
Like last year, the four of us (the other two being Greg and Adam) decided to get in touch with nature and go camping for a couple of days, like the hypocrite city slickers that we are. However, we’re pretty good at planning stuff like this, making sure it won’t interfere with our respective jobs and whatnot.
As Dave told me earlier, we were indeed right on schedule: it wasn’t even 6:00 AM and he was ready, a role-reversal compared to the last time we went camping, as I’m usually the one who hates being late. A quick shower, some casual clothes and I too was ready, just a shirt and pair of black shorts, whereas Dave was sporing a grey t-shirt and his signature, “summer style” camo cargo shorts which, given the context, immediately triggered my kinky ass as I just remembered how my friend mercilessly blasted me in our tent last year while wearing those.
I hated… that I fuckin’ loved it.
While farting wasn’t by far our main topic of discussion (believe it or not), I like to think that Dave too remembers… because he’s just a nice mixture of “the best bro you could ever ask for” and “your worst bully”. Or, much more realistically, he just doesn’t remember because while he does find the act of teasing me utterly hilarious, it’s not like our lives revolve around his farts.
Unlike last year we were actually much more independent as our other two buds travelled to our destination on their own, a relatively colder place where we could avoid this summer’s high temperatures, somewhere on a mountain not far from here. We’re hiking to some interesting sights, the most important being a big, lesser known waterfall located at higher altitudes and deeper into the forest.
We packed our stuff and as the Sun was setting we got into the car, Dave being the designated driver. My (much more important) role was choosing the music for the trip and sometimes checking the map. A true duo of rally drivers.
During the trip, me and my bro chatted about some random stuff and about one hour flew by. No traffic, no road works or anything, just a long but peaceful trip.
“Oh by the way.” Dave suddenly said, changing the subject. “When Dana and I went camping last year…”
He seemed embarrassed but couldn’t help but laugh. Knowing him, that was the kind of laughter he’d do whenever he did something stupid.
“Yes?” I asked, being annoyingly inquisitive on purpose.
“We broke your tent.” he simply said.
“Oh.” I replied, not caring that much.
Yes, after our trip last year, I let Dave and Dana bring my tent on their own trip. I totally forgot about it and it was a very cheap product anyway. Plus, I saw Dave putting a folded up tent into the trunk earlier this morning, so it’s not like we were gonna sleep with the bugs tonight.
“It was an accident, I’m sorry.” he said.
“You’re the worst person I ever met.” I replied, the sarcasm being almost tangible.
“I totally forgot about it.”
“Me too actually.” I admitted. “How did you break it? I deserve to know.” I asked, acting like I wanted to know how my grandpa died.
“Crazy sex obviously.” my friend said, with a smirk.
I stared back at him until he told me truth.
“Ok… I accidentally hit it while going in reverse.”
“How did it even happen?!” I yelled, amused. “Why was the car there in the first place?!”
“Girls, you know… she didn’t want to walk back to the car.”
I stared back at him again.
“We had beers in the trunk.”
“Unbelievable. Truly made for each other.”
We both had a good laugh at their laziness, and I made sure Dave knew it was fine: he bought a new tent after all, so we’re good.
“The new tent is a bit smaller though… not that you mind, right?” he said, and winked at me.
“Oh yeah, show me the infamous crazy sex you’ve been talking about.” I played along.
“Well that, obviously.” he joked. “But I was thinking more of… you know…”
He leaned a bit while driving and, as much as he could, pointed his camo-clad ass towards me; the fart was, well, one of his average ones, long, loud and proud, the sound partially muffled by the seat and car’s own noises, but I could still hear it clearly. A firm, strong, 7 seconds display of cocky manliness from my bro, something I pretend to be used to but for a number of reasons keeps surprising me somehow.
The smell hit me but the cars’ windows being open made it bearable.
Before I could stutter something, he sat back normally and resumed talking.
“Just like last year, you know.” he laughed.
He actually remembers it. The fact that he does gives me a mix of feelings. I remained silent, trying to focus on the road ahead, which he noticed.
“Aw come on, don’t act like you hate it, you hypocrite.” he playfully said, patting my shoulder. “You know you can relax when I’m around, right?” he then asked, a bit more seriously, keeping his right hand on my shoulder.
It took me a bit to answer that simple question, Dave being so open-minded he almost leaves me speechless.
“Yeah I know man. Thanks.”
“Good.” he said, again patting my shoulder.
This man’s patience is infinite.
And just like that, we resumed talking about the usual stuff, as if my kink never existed. I feel like Dave accepted my fetish more than I ever did with myself.
——
Tumblr media
A few hours later we reached our destination, at around 10:00 AM, the mountains towering over us being so high we could see the peaks covered in glaciers. However, the town where we left the car was not at high altitudes, so while the weather wasn’t as hot as back home, you could still tell it was summer, a particularly hot one nonetheless, as some of the locals told us. From the small town we then begun our hiking towards a place called “Windy Mountain”, making sure our phones still got signal so we could keep our other two buds posted on our location.
As we got higher and higher, the temperatures got a bit lower, but still pleasing, despite our heavy backpacks.
“Call me hypocrite.” I said.
“I already did a few hours ago I believe.” Dave quickly replied.
“I’m just saying… I don’t blame you for parking the car next to the tent, when you were with Dana.”
“Ahah what, feeling tired already?” he mockingly said, tired.
“I could do this all day bro.” I boasted, lying.
“Well no worries, Greg and Adam set the camp right next to that river.”
Dave pointed to a location not really far from us, a bit more downhill than where we were, and I could indeed spot two people in the distance, which I assumed were our buds waiting for us. The view as a whole was also really nice, with the mountain overlooking the entire scene.
“You think they can hear us?” I asked.
“Only way to find out.”
My friend shouted our buds’ names, his voice echoing in the entire valley, but the two people didn’t seem to have any reaction. It was my turn to shout, but once again, nothing.
“Yeah it’s them.” Dave said. “I’d recognize Greg’ piss-yellow shirt anywhere.” he pointed out, as I too noticed that small yellow spot by the river.
“It’s weird they couldn’t hear us.”
“Let’s see if they can hear this then.”
Dave simply stood where it was, which was surprising considering the sheer amount of gas he started ejecting from his ass. The fart almost fake-sounding, but it was loud and powerful, my friend effortlessly showing off his skills, easily surpassing any natural sound around us. The fart truly echoed everywhere, and as the 9 seconds blast finished, I could still hear it propagating all over the valley. An impressive, almost terrifying display of what my friend is capable of.
Funnily enough, the guy in the piss shirt did seem to turn around; he then waved at us.
“Nice.” I said. “You probably scared the shit out of every animal in the valley, but nice.”
“It’s called ‘asserting dominance’, Timothy.” Dave said, acting all serious. “The valley now knows who’s in charge.”
“Wow I feel so safe now.” I said, letting my sarcasm do the talking… while trying to ignore my boner.
——
The moment we arrived, Greg and Adam fetched us beers and something to eat, just some snacks, as it was too early to set up a barbecue anyway. We started setting up our camp like we did last time: our two tents being on the opposite sides, facing each other, with a fire pit in the middle, not too close, not too far away.
“Isn’t that tent a bit too small for you two?” Greg noted, while rummaging through the snacks.
“We don’t need a bigger tent to compensate you know.” I replied, very maturely.
“Also, me and Tim like to snuggle in those cold summer nights.” Dave added, hugging me from behind. “Right, honey?”
I shook him off. “Oh yeah…” I played along. “Whisper me something soft and sweet, my stallion!”
What my ear received however was anything but a gentle whisper. Dave was really enjoying the beer and he decided to let me (and everyone) know by belching directly into my skull, the scent of yeast and water hitting my nostrils. My bro wants to make sure he can destroy me from both ends, if you know what I mean.
“Serves you right.” Greg snickered.
Like a Terminator, Dave changed his target and let me go, power-walking towards our snickering friend. Before Greg could beg for mercy, he grabbed his head and burped straight onto his face, earning mature laughters from me and Adam.
“The good news is that you’re probably scaring bears off.” Adam commented.
“He’s ‘asserting dominance’” I explained, making finger quotes.
“He’s the true alpha.” Adam added, sarcastically.
“He’s making me puke.” Greg managed to say, just as Dave’s belch ended.
Once this very mature display of manliness was over, my bro joined us in setting up the camp, with his classic smirk drawn on his face, pretty proud of making Greg almost lose it.
——
After setting up the camp we ate something, nothing too complicated, just some sandwiches and fresh water, because in the afternoon we planned to go hiking; the destination was this beautiful waterfall located deeper into the woods and at a higher altitude, a true sight to behold. Due to this however, the climate there was colder, and the temperatures started to lower even in the valley (where our camp was) due to the Sun hiding behind one of the tall mountains looming over us.
In our tent I was setting some things up before the hike, like the GPS on my phone, and pulling some things out of my backpack to avoid bringing something needlessly heavy with me. My back was facing the tent’s entrance but I could feel someone coming inside.
“Everything’s alright?” Dave asked.
For all the immature, sometimes gross pranks he plays on us (…you know what I mean), Dave was actually the smartest around here, and the one we trusted the most when it came to organizing trips like these. Just because he acts silly, it doesn’t man he’s stupid.
“Yeah man. All set.” I said. “If we die, they’re gonna find our corpses in no time.” I joked.
“That’s the spirit!” my friend cheered.
As the Dave got into the tent, I realized how smaller than the last one was indeed. The fact that my bro was taller and generally “bigger” than me, body-wise, didn’t help. There was room to breathe, lay down and all that stuff, but a bigger tent would have definitely been better.
My bro got on all fours to look for some of his own stuff and, due to the small size of the tent, accidentally brushed his camo-clad ass all over me more than once. This stuff can happen to everyone, so I just ignored it, though it was hard not to think of what that same ass is capable of, considering the person who belongs to.
“Looking for something?” I asked, turning to him, though my head was basically talking to his ass.
“Yeah, my rain jacket.” he said, while rummaging through his own backpack.
“Oh right, the waterfall.” I remembered. I too had a rain jacket after all.
“Nevermind, found it.” he told me, giving me an OK I sign.
I kept checking my stuff, his camo-clad ass still literally next to me. I noticed Dave’s hand now patting his own butt, like we all do when we can’t find our phones in our back-pockets.
“What are you looking for now?” I asked, without even turning to his ass, even though my boner really wanted me to take a closer look.
Dave didn’t answer, though I felt his hand pat my shoulder, then my hair.
“Your head, actually.” he said, trying not to laugh.
He quickly pulled me and planted my entire face into his ass, holding it still. As my nose touched the warm fabric of his cargo pants, I felt his buttcheeks relax and, surprise to no one, a fart came out, a loud blast that made my teeth shake for how strong and loud it was. The gas went down my nostrils and eyes, making me choke, but Dave’s firm grip on my head was merciless. As my bro kept his position on all four, he raised one of his legs a bit, easing the blast out, actually making him get even louder. He finally let me head go as he did this, but my kinky-self didn’t move at all, enjoying the blast until it was over.
And indeed it was over, at around 11 seconds, a fart fueled by beer and snacks. I heard my friend laugh as he gently pushed me away using his own ass. The turned around, with his usual smirk.
“It’s just too easy with you.” he said.
I didn’t say anything, turning my attention to my backpack again. Despite Dave’s best (worst?) efforts, I was always embarrassed by this. My bro probably noticed this and stopped the teasing, getting ready himself for the hike.
As I mentioned, the temperatures were getting lower, so Dave changed clothes accordingly: he was now wearing a pair of dark blue jeans, a long-sleeved t-shirt and the aforementioned rain jacket.
“Piss yellow? How the tables have turned.” I mocked him, commenting the color of the jacket.
“It’s ochre, you swine.” he said.
——
We were hiking in single file, with me being the last, in the woods, the temperatures getting lower; the mood was great however, and we occasionally improvised songs from a certain epic fantasy as we felt like we were marching towards a dark volcano or a dragon-infested mountain. The landscapes certainly helped the illusion of an epic tale: it was just a damn beautiful place; despite the Sun being still obscured by the mountains, we could still it was a picture perfect day, weather-wise: we couldn’t have chosen a better day to go camping and hiking.
My gay and kinky ass kept distracting me from truly appreciating the beauty of nature, as Dave was the one walking in front of me. Regardless of my fetish, Dave was a great-looking guy, so I couldn’t help but to stare at him for a few seconds whenever I could. My eyes would obviously land on his jeans-clad ass more than once, which were a bit loose but also wrapped nicely around his powerful butt as he walked. Disgustingly enough, I wished he could fart on me while wearing those, but I won’t deny I’d love to ask, but I will never do it, I’d feel like I’m crossing some boundaries I’m not supposed to cross, because at the end of the day Dave is straight.
I can at least enjoy the view… and considering that the human body is, well, not artificial, you can technically say I’m still enjoying the scenery nature had to offer.
——
Tumblr media
The hype paid off: the waterfall, the main reason we came up here in the first place, was absolutely incredible. We were speechless, so stunned we didn’t even think to take a picture of it the moment we got there. We kept walking, following a route that would get us right in front of it, millions of small droplets of water already dampening our faces and clothes. This never-ending wall of water going down the mountain was a beast, and a loud one truth to be told: we had to yell because we couldn’t hear anything unless we stood really close to each other.
“I’m speechless.” I yelled everyone.
“What?!” everyone replied.
“I said that I’m speechless!”
“Then why are you talking?!” Greg screamed back.
We didn’t have anything else to say as we stood in front of that wonderful display of nature, letting the water do all the talk. Finally we decided to become a boomer’s worst nightmare and pulled our phones out, taking pictures, posting stories and selfies. I saw Dave making a short video-call with Dana, even though the two could barely hear each other (but knowing them, that was the entire joke) while the other three of us settled for posting our pics on social medias.
It was still daytime (around 5:00 PM) but after about 20 minutes admiring the scenery, we decided it was time to hike back to the camp.
Also, we were starving.
“You two want to make out or what?” Adam yelled, noticing me and Dave staying behind.
I explained (screaming like a demon) that Dave needed to send a couple more pics to Dana, but the phone’s signal was unstable, so I was waiting for him to not leave him alone there.
Adam gestured a “whatever” and he and Greg disappeared in the woods around the waterfall.
After a couple more minutes, which I spent sitting down admiring that cathedral of nature, Dave put his phone in the backpack and sat next to me, at first in silence.
“I gotta take Dana to this place.” he thought out loud.
We kept sitting there, the loudness of the water rushing down the only thing we could hear despite ourselves. I decided to ruin the moment by reaching for something in my backpack.
“Beer?” I said, handing a can of beer to my bro.
“Always.” he replied.
We had a quick toast and enjoyed the view a bit more.
“Man that’s loud.” I commented, the waterfall’s noise starting to piercing my ear-drums.
Dave slowly turned to me, sporting an exaggerated smirk.
“Challenge accepted.”
I guess it was his turn to ruin the moment.
He quickly stood up, now towering next to me, and I could once again admire that beautiful denim ass. He wasn’t gonna fart in my face, not there at least, but for some reason he just wanted to do it. It wasn’t because of me, I’m pretty sure: the guy just enjoys showing off.
I didn’t stand up, and just stared at Dave… waiting, until he turned his head down to me with a cheesy smirk.
“You can’t hear it?” he yelled.
I instinctively stared at his ass and focuses. I could barely hear it: it was one of his well-known farts, loud and proud, but he still couldn’t beat the waterfall.
Trying to hide my massive boner, I simply gestured my ear, as to say that I couldn’t hear it. My friend just laughed and I could see his eyes narrowing, as if he was forcing more gas out.
And truth to be told, I could hear the fart getting louder, still not as loud as the waterfall obviously, but damn that must have been incredible to hear in all of its glory.
Dave kept standing still, relaxing his ass muscles and pushing what was probably one of his longest and loudest farts out. I could notice the droplets coming from the waterfall being blown farther away once they got close to his denim ass, a sign of powerful that blast was.
Now I could hear it properly, which my friend noticed, as he once again stared down at me sporting a wide, silly smile, immaturely proud of his fart. Really putting the “ass” in the whole “asserting dominance”-thing he had going one since we got here.
I thought I was ruining the moment with that beer, but Dave is better at everything I guess.
The hardest thing (besides my penis) was fighting the urge to simply plant my face into that ass, so I could properly enjoy that massive display of farting-talent; I couldn’t complain however, since Dave is basically a terribly wonderful enabler for my fart kink.
Now I couldn’t hear the waterfall anymore, only the fart; that fact that I was right next to the source of the blast certainly helped, but that was impressive either way. Dave was visibly exhausted: that was too much even for him (and, probably, me), so he sat down next to me again, sighing in relief, and the fart ended. How long did that last anyway? Not only it was loud, it was extremely lengthy. If I had to guess, that was probably around 60 seconds!
I tried to focus again on the waterfall, while Dave proposed another toast.
“To us.” he said, sounding as corny as you think.
“Really?” I replied, skeptical.
Dave simply laughed in response.
“You’re a disgusting weirdo, Tim.” he said, smiling, but those words didn’t hurt me at all, because I knew he wouldn’t say things like that to hurt me. “But takes one to know one.”
“Wait.” I was confused. “What does that mean?”
“Don’t get any ideas now.” he quickly stated. “I just wanted to remind you how weird all of this is.” he took a sip of his beer. “How hilariously weird.” he laughed.
Dave, a straight guy, a good friend. Yes, I was the weirdo of the duo, but he doing what he does for me can be just as weird and the fact that he just doesn’t care only proves even more what a great bro he is, being ridiculously open-minded about all this stuff.
“You didn’t have to, you know?” I told him.
“Teasing you is hilarious.” he admitted. “Thanks for the laughs.” he patted my back.
I simply decided to remain silent, probably the best decision, and let the waterfall once again do all the talk, as the millions of droplets of water made our clothes soaking wet. Dave asserted his dominance, but the waterfall definitely had the last word.
——
Tumblr media
Back to the camp, we quickly put some sausages with “Adam’s special sauce” on the barbecue (I’ll save you the mandatory jokes) and had a nice dinner all the 4 of us together, planning on what we were gonna do the next day; probably something simpler, not deep in the woods: the town were we left the car had a couple of good restaurants so like the bunch of city slickers we are, we decided to hang out there the next morning.
It was a windy night, but it wasn’t that cold outside, so both me and Dave lay down in our tent, next to each other, without sleeping bags. A small lantern lit the inside of the tent with a warm light. My friend was lying on his stomach, still wearing the long-sleeved shirt and the jeans from before, which I sadly immediately noticed.
Dave’s face was even more lit because of his phone inches from his nose, which he was using to message Dana, as the continuous tapping and notifications sounds confirmed. Honestly, that was kind of annoying.
“Bro…” I whispered. “Can you… please, you know?” I said, hoping to sound just as annoying.
“Mh?” Dave replied, distracted by all the messaging.
“Please?” I repeated.
Dave smiled and resumed the noisy tapping. “Yeah sure, give me a minute.”
“Nice.” I thanked him.
I simply laid down, staring at what can we consider the “ceiling” of our tent. That was a good day, we should actually do it more often.
“Alright.” Dave put his phone down, after indeed a minute passed.
However, he kept moving for some reason. He laid down on his back and turned his entire body so his legs would be next to my head. But then, he cocked his denim legs up and made those go over my head, now fully showing off his denim ass right next to my face, which looked like a wall of jeans given how loose (almost sagging) it was.
“Dude, what the fuck?!” I almost yelled.
“Huh?” Dave said. All I could see was his denim ass, but I could tell he was confused.
“What the Hell?” I kept asking.
“Bro. You literally asked for it.” he explained.
“I didn’t.”
“Yeah you did!” he insisted, this time laughing a bit.
That felt surreal.
Then I realized.
“I was… I was talking about all the tapping, dude! If you could put that damn phone on mute!”
We remained silent for a couple of long seconds, then Dave broke the silence by laughing like an idiot.
“Sorry bro, I totally thought you finally had the guts to just ask for it ahah.”
“I would never!”
We kept talking like that, with my head inches from his ass, Dave just casually lying down like that as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
“Well…” my bro finally said. “Do you want me to fart or not?” he whispered, as we both remembered that Greg and Adam’s tent wasn’t far from us, even though they were already asleep.
The way he just casually asked got me massively aroused already. How in the world I manage to have a friend like him is beyond me, beyond my wildest dreams.
“It’s not like I have anything better to do anyway.” he then said.
Indeed, we were in the middle of nowhere.
“Okay…” I finally found the courage to speak. “But only if you want to.”
Dave laughed.
“I don’t want to fart in your face, bro.” he said, reaching for my head, pulling it even closer to his denim ass. “I want to fuckin’ end it. Ready?”
That was a rhetorical question. The blast that greeted me was massive, my face shaking due to the power of that fart. Whatever sauce Adam put on those sausages really messed with my friend’s stomach, which was already infamously powerful as well all know. The stench was unbearable and the entire tent shook because of the wind Dave was shooting out of his ass.
The natural blast kept going for about 12 more seconds, with my friend letting my head go halfway through the rip, knowing that I wasn’t going anywhere. At around the 16th second mark, the fart finally ended, leaving an invisible gas cloud engulfing the tent. The smell hit my bro as well, but he was basically immune at his own poisonous attacks.
Without moving his ass, he slightly got up, staring down at me from beyond that wall of jeans, with a silly smirk, checking for my reaction, which was awkward and speechless as usual, something that he’d always find amusing.
“Are you ok there, Tim?” we heard Greg yell from his tent.
Both of us laughed like idiots this time. “It’s all good!” Dave yelled.
Maintaining eye-contact with me, with his ass still inches from my face, he started to suck air in. The facial expressions he made were just as hot as the sounds he was producing from his ass.
“Asserting dominance?” I casually asked.
Dave laughed again. “Nah, just making a thirsty bitch’s dreams come true.” he joked.
Once again, I wasn’t offended, nor Dave’s words were ill-intentioned. We always made fun of each other after all, and considering what was happening… I honestly deserved that.
My friend reached for my head one more time, pulling it close to his denim ass, now completely sagging, my nose rubbing against the red fabric of his sweaty boxer shorts. This time he was blasting me on command, but honestly there were no different from his natural ones. He was indeed really good at quenching my thirst, I couldn’t deny that.
It was a series of mid rips, loud and about 3 seconds long each. I wish Dave always had nothing better to do than blasting me, to be honest. I again heard our other friends’ yelling something, but the sound from Dave’s farts was so loud it reminded me of the waterfall.
The tip of my cock dampened as the barrage ended with a longer 9 seconds rip, which almost teared a hole through my friend’s red boxer.
He finally let me go and he resumed his previous position, lying down next to me.
“Dave…” I said. “I’ll never understand why you do it, but thanks.”
“I swear I’m gonna kick your ass if you keep saying that.” he replied, pushing me a bit.
I tried to relax, as if nothing happened, another thing that Dave was much better than me at. I closed my eyes and focused on having a good night sleep… but I heard all that tapping again.
“Really?” I said, turning to him.
“If you can handle the noises my ass makes, you can handle my phone, you hypocrite.”
“I… you… you KNEW I was talking about the phone the whole time!”
Dave simply turned to me, sporting the most annoying smirk he could mess me with.
“It’s just too easy with you.” he said one more time, and winked at me.
Truly asserting dominance, he raised one of his legs and a ripped a quick, loud one, effortlessly.
At this point I was just blushing like a fool. I turned my back to him to avoid eye contact because I was a mess. My bro is such a teasing bastard and I both hate and love him for this, but damn it’s getting way too hot in here.
Luckily, the cold windy night helped cooling me down, even though there was more wind inside the tent than outside, because of Dave.
Maybe that’s why they call it “Windy Mountain” (yes, you knew it was coming).

no but. after TOA, apollo probably visits Camp Halfblood more regularly, right? And he does it in his Lester form, but he switches so sometimes he's teen Lester, but sometimes he comes by as Grown Up Middle Aged Lester when he feels like his kids need their dad more.
so he's like, bonding with his kids and whatnot, and suddenly there's a Disturbance in the Force, and because he's also driving the sun chariot, he sees that the hyacinth flowers in Cabin 7 have been glimmering and suddenly turned into a very handsome young man in his 20s, wearing a spartan tunic and speaking in ancient greek.
and apollo fucking freezes and tells his kids "okay children you need to improv with me on this" and disappears.
chiron comes out to see what the disturbance is about, and is very fucking surprised to see THE Hyacinthus, who's confused and a VERY overwhelmed. he offers him a place at camp halfblood, not as a camper obviously (he's not a demigod and he's a full adult), but as a camp counselor and a part of the activities board.
and then kayla and austin burst into the Big House making a scene because "CHIRON! We found an injured hero who was being attacked by monsters, he's in the infirmary now!"
of COURSE the injured hero is Lester, and Apollo's vain enough to have his Lester form be in his mid 20s, and have absolutely no pimples, and he gave himself 6 pack before will told him that that's too much, so he settled down for a 2 pack.
Chiron fully sighs before sighing some more when Lester raises up a blood covered letter of employment stating that he was to start here and work as part of the camp staff.
all in all, this was a pretty tame way of courting from an Olympian, but now camp halfblood has TWO gods in there all the time, not that Hyacinthus can tell. Lester throws himself into helping chiron out and also "guiding Hyacinthus" through the wonders of the mortal realm, and Hyacinthus is enjoying the wonders of modern technology (they installed a bidet in the Big House, and Apollo personally paid to upgrade everything).
but whenever Lester makes a move, Hyacinthus is really hesitant, and Lester's like okay well I should one final showcase of my irresistability before confessing! Until Hyacinthus tells him that okay, he's picking up what Lester is putting down, and he's kind of into it, except he doesn't want to get Lester hurt. Because of how he died, he knows first hand how jealous gods can get, and he doesn't want to put Lester in the line of fire of any jealous gods.
meanwhile cabin 7 is in FULL cahoots and trying to wingman their dad as much as possible. even nico's in on it, he accidentally trips and tells hyacinthus that oh no, you need to bring me to the infirmary where lester is at, he is such a good healer!
anyway. just lester pretending to be mortal trying to woo hyacinthus because he feels guilty about causing his death and so he's so afraid of showing up as apollo, and hyacinthus falling in love but he doesn't want what happened to him happen to lester.

GOJO X READER: LOVERS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairings: gojo satoru x gn!reader
cw: does not follow the jjk plot - gender neutral reader - established relationship - fluff - characters are both college students - might be suggestive at the end
synopsis: moments and habits you share with your lover.
word count: 1.9k
Tumblr media
Gojo and you have a bit of a cat-and-dog dynamic. You like making fun of one another, sharing inside jokes, and even being childish together. You two are very strong-willed and have very intense personalities. You got to know him through a few mutual friends during high school. You didn't seem to enjoy each other's company at the time, or so you thought. Your conversations were solely based on teasing and challenging yourselves with dumb, imaginary quests. You didn't realized how much you liked being teased by this tall, beautiful, silver-haired man until graduation came to burst your bubble. When you did graduate and entered your university campus, you couldn't believe who was behind you, requiring you to hurry up while picking up your dorm keys. You both lost it as your eyes crossed his, lamenting to the universe why on earth you had to run into him again when you were just starting to stop thinking about him. As time passed, after bumping into him several times, you eventually grew closer over shared classes, study sessions, lunches, parties, and common interests. Laughter replaced bad jokes, silly pats on the back were exchanged for cuddles, and these glares were replaced by a tender and soft gaze. Since then, you two developed a close and sincere bond where communication and affection went hand in hand.
Movie night
You decided to meet up later after class to watch a movie to get the weekend off to a good start. After washing up, you packed a bag with extra clothes and headed to Gojo's dorm. You texted him, "I'm on my way, salt or sweet popcorn?"
He replied, "mmmh… sweet like you!" you chuckled. Man could graduate with a bachelor's degree in pick-up lines if he wanted to.
You arrive in front of his dorm at around 8pm and knock on his door. He opens and stands in front of it, greeting you with a large smile, his arm leading you inside.
“Welcome my dear, if you'd like to make yourself at home".
You scoffed. "What a gentleman!"
You place your bag in a corner as Gojo wraps his arms around your waist and rests his head in the crook of your neck.
He kisses your cheek — “I missed you, how was your day?"
"It was actually fun, we did some prototyping during my web design class. I'm glad the day's over though." You turn around and wrap your arms around him. You lay a gentle kiss on his nose and pat his torso.
"Are you hungry?" you ask
"I've already ordered some takeout, your favorite. I wanted to surprise you.“ He's such a caring man.
"Argh, i love you so much for that you know?"
"I know you can't get enough of me!" he laughs.
His phone rings "Oh, it's our food, make yourself comfortable, get changed, you know the drill.” he says, putting on his slippers in a hurry.
You take this opportunity to change into your pajamas and make some space on the little table in front of his bed. You hear the doorbell ring and see a proud Gojo handing you your meal. You settle down on the floor after he puts the food on the table. You began to eat in a cozy environment and decide together which film you'd like to see.
"Are you down for a comedy, an animated movie, sci-fi?" Gojo asks you while he turns on the TV.
"You know how indecisive i am, Gojo, it can take me an hour to choose. But i'd say i'm leaning more for an animated movie."
He searches the animation category and comes across a few results.
You decide to get up and clean the table while heating the popcorn in the microwave.
Gojo was sitting down, focused with his messy hair covering the tiny frown on his face while his arm was resting on his raised knee.
He turns his head in your direction "Is Big Hero 6 good for you?"
You nod and grab the hot and caramelized treat
"I love this movie, great idea!" you sit back down all excited on the cushions and move closer to him.
He started the movie while you hand him the bowl. The film goes well, you laugh, cry and enjoy the moment. In the meantime, Gojo has been able to cup you in his arms while you lie half stretched out between his legs. He takes the opportunity to stroke your hair, which relaxes you even more. Before he knew it, you were already asleep. He began to hear your tiny snores and couldn't help but giggle, "My dummy..."
He turns off the TV, pushes aside anything he might trip over, and gently wakes you up.
He hates to disturb your sleep, but he can't let you lay uncomfortably on the floor. Gojo undoes the bed to buy a little time, then tries to wake you.
“y/n, wake up so i can get us on the bed".
You were deep in your sleep, almost half-unconscious. The only answer you could give him was a compilation of half chewed words and grunts. You eventually got up thanks to him supporting you. He carried you carefully onto the bed and covered you before settling down. You unconsciously pulled him towards you so that his head rests on your chest. He blushes and hugs you tenderly as he falls asleep.
When he’s not feeling well
Everything was going smoothely. You had just finished your last class of the day and was heading out to the library to study with Gojo and some of your friends. You were soon joined by them, but couldn't see your boyfriend.
One of them asks, "Is Gojo coming?"
You replied, picking up your phone, "I'll text him, let's go in anyways." All you had to do was wait and sit inside with the others after the message was sent.
You concluded, "I'm sure his teacher held up his class for a few more minutes."
——
There was still no sign of Gojo after twenty minutes. You apologized to the group and decided to quickly leave the library to call him. It wasn't typical of him to not at least text you. You tried to call him, still no response. You sensed something was off, and you knew in your heart that you needed to make sure he was okay. You returned to the library, gathered your things, and apologized once again to the group, telling them you had an emergency. You speed walk towards the building where Gojo had his last class. When you got there, you saw one of his classmates standing outside and you asked her if she had seen him.
"He unfortunately missed today's class". she says You thanked her as you were already walking away. You knew his two “get away” spots when he felt the need to take a break were his dorm or the small park close to the local coffee shop he liked.
You chose to head to the coffee shop first since it wasn't that far. You slid between the students, holding the totebag that was menacing to fall of your shoulders. You arrived in front of the park and looked the surroundings carefully. No signs of his presence. His room was the only location that remained. Before leaving, you bought him his favorite strawberry frappé.
You reach his dorm after what felt like a marathon. You catch a break and knock on his door.
He was indeed inside, lying numb on his bed, his phone on the table. He heard you and is aware that you are standing outside. After a while, he opens his door in pajamas, his eyes swollen and red. You could tell that he really wasn't feeling well.
"Hey!" You softly cupped his face "Tell me what's wrong."
"I feel like I'm messing up everything. I've failed an important test, i've got into an argument with my best friend, and i feel like a total failure." he whines
"Take this," you say as you hand him the strawberry frappé, "a little sugar boost will do you some good." He took a few sips, and kisses your forehead.
"Secondly," you take him to bed and lay him down with you.
"Despite the weight of your worries, you must solve them one by one. You've failed your test, it sucks and you feel like you did all of that for nothing. It will take a little time for you to cool off, but you can always make up for it by asking your teacher extra graded work or to retake the test."
He looks at the ceiling, sighs loudly, and grips your hands tightly.
You proceed — "Now for Geto's case, you know that you'll be able to make it up to him, you just have to talk to him frankly. Honesty comes first, especially with him."
He gives you a weak laugh, "Especially with him yes, you're right."
You both lay there hands interwined until you turn around to face his side profile.
"It's normal not to feel good, you're human. It's okay to fail, to be sad, angry and even disappointed. Never say you're not enough again because you're worth it. Come talk to me or someone you trust if you ever feel like you are carrying too much weight. You must let it all out."
He gave you a hug as he suddenly lifted you onto his chest.
"That feels good, thank you so much, can you please stay with me?"
After care
Gojo had made the decision to invite you to his hometown so that you two could spend some romantic time together as the last three days of spring break approached. Even though you could occasionally cross paths at university, it was essential that you two stay together for a longer period. You had planned a lovely evening with a dinner date and a late night walk. You spent the rest of your evening at Gojo's house, and it's safe to say that you two needed to reconnect.
A warm atmosphere started to surround you both as the gentle touches on your thigh or on his broad shoulders grew more and more insistent. Finally, a languid kiss confirmed how you both felt. So you spent a delightful late night sharing that moment of intimacy you'd missed so much. Sweet and tender words exchanged in whispers and even delicate praises. The night's soft light cast a comforting glow over you as the moment came to an end. While silently panting, you embrace one another. Gojo loved looking after you after such a significant moment. He loved touching your belly, your waist or your face, and you enjoyed snuggling up to him, playing with his hair or lying on his chest.
Following that, Gojo felt it was essential to help you clean yourself, hence why he grabbed the first shirt he saw to give it to you, guided you into the bathroom while the water began to run. He took great care of you, assisting you in washing your hair by giving it a massage. He was aware that despite how frequently you shared such intimate moments, you preferred for him to turn around while you washed your entire body. He then cleaned himself after that and was the first to exit the shower. You blushed at the sight of your partner with that towel wrapped around his waist.
Once you were clean and dry, you changed into some comfortable clothes and went back to bed to finish the rest of the night by either sleeping in the classic big and small spoon formation or talking.

Chapter 12: Live Again
WC: 6195 | AO3 link | CW: Smut
For two weeks Eddie didn’t leave the house.
He wasn’t in hiding, exactly, he just… wasn’t quite ready for the outside world yet.
There was no one shouting for his head since Chrissy was alive and therefore he was never tied to the mysterious deaths in town, save for the fact that he’d been the lone surviving victim of the same killer, officially. The Hawkins Post called him a hero, for escaping, for living.
Most of the time, he didn’t feel much like one.
While he was struggling, everyone else seemed to be settling into life post-Vecna, their new normal, with ease.
The Byers moved back to Hawkins.
Joyce and Hopper, after his miraculous return to life that came with a cover story Eddie didn’t even want to know, had flown to California a day or two after the battle to pack up what was salvageable from the house in Lenora. The place had apparently been ransacked in their absence by the same sector of the government that had tried to capture Eleven, or so Dustin had said during one of his visits. Now they were back, one big happy blended family, staying at Hopper’s old cabin until they could find something better.
School started up again.
Jonathan, Will, and El still had to wait for their transfers to go through, but the rest of the kids, Robin, Chrissy, and Nancy all returned to the halls of Hawkins High like it was nothing, like the world as they knew it hadn’t irrevocably changed.
Maybe for them, it hadn’t.
Maybe Eddie was the only one having a hard time returning to his life.
He faked it well enough when anyone else was around, but in reality he barely ate and couldn't sleep—not quite able to believe that it was truly over, still waiting for the other shoe to drop. And on the rare occasion that he did manage to get some rest, he always woke in a panic, half-expecting to find himself back at the beginning again.
Though his injuries were essentially just a broken arm, Principal Higgins, in a rare show of mercy, agreed to allow him to finish out what was left of the school year at home, provided someone was willing to bring the materials to him and drop the completed work back off to his teachers the next day.
Chrissy was a godsend, who happily jumped at the chance to help him out now that she had plenty of free time, since her first order of business when school resumed was to quit the cheerleading squad. And, in what he could only assume was an effort to tank her reputation as thoroughly and as quickly as possible, sat with the kids at the Hellfire table in the cafeteria when lunchtime rolled around, to the collective bafflement of Gareth, Jeff, and Grant.
That had been a fun conversation to bullshit his way through when they stopped by to see him last week.
Chrissy was also the one person who, apart from Wayne, knew that he wasn’t doing well. With the amount of time she spent over at the trailer, it was kind of inevitable that he wouldn't be able to hide from her the way he could with the others.
He knew she wanted to ask, wanted him to open up and talk about all the reasons why he was having such a hard time moving on, but he couldn't. He wouldn’t burden her with all that, she already knew enough. She didn’t need to hear how a large portion of his nightmares featured her body breaking over and over again right before his eyes.
As far as the other thing, she knew something had happened between him and Steve, everyone seemed to know even if they didn't know what, but no one talked about it.
Just like in the hospital, Eddie didn’t ask, and no one else mentioned Steve either, which he’d been grateful for at first, not needing the painful reminder of how badly he’d fucked up, but it was getting infuriating, the not knowing.
He just wanted to know that Steve was okay, to see for himself that Steve was real, and alive.
Which was his only reason for agreeing to attend a movie night in the Wheelers cramped basement, surrounded by the smell of sweaty teenage boys and burnt popcorn. The potential of seeing Steve completely overrode his good sense.
Except, Steve never showed.
Nearly two hours of staring at the wall, and for nothing. He didn’t even know what movie they’d been watching, his thoughts too loud for him to pay attention.
When the credits rolled and the kids started to move around again, Eddie booked it up the stairs, needing some air and a smoke to calm his nerves, not realizing that Chrissy and Robin were following close behind him.
The cigarette was dangling from his lips, lighter halfway to his mouth when the two girls burst out the door he’d just come through. He raised a single eyebrow and continued to light his smoke.
Robin wrinkled her nose and waved a hand in front of her face reflexively. “I don’t know a nice way to say this, so I’m just gonna say it. You look terrible. I mean Chrissy said, but I didn’t think it was this bad. Are you okay?!”
Chrissy smacked her on the arm. “Robin!”
Eddie sighed, blowing out a long plume of smoke. “No, that was fair. I haven't taken a good look in the mirror lately, but I'm sure you’re not wrong.”
“Sorry.” Robin winced. “In Chrissy’s defense all she told me was that she’s worried about you, that it didn’t seem like you were handling life after the Upside Down so great.”
He thought about playing it off, the same way he had dozens of times before when different members of their little group had come to check up on him, but he was tired—tired of lying about it and far too tired to come up with any convincing bullshit.
“I’m not. You’re right about that, both of you. I, uh, don’t really sleep much these days? And anytime I do close my eyes—it’s a nightmare. Either a literal one, or I wake up not being sure if any of what happened was real, or if it was just another failed loop and I'm about to start back at the beginning again. I mean, it’s been two weeks but it’s like I can't accept it. I can't accept that it’s done. I keep thinking maybe if I knew how it happened, if I could somehow be absolutely sure that it won’t happen again, maybe I could relax, but… what are the chances of that.”
It felt good to say it out loud for once, to name it and let it out instead of keeping it all bottled up inside.
"I wish there was more we could do to help." Chrissy said, running a hand up and down his back, careful not to bump his cast.
"I know you have Wayne, and Chrissy of course, but you have me too—all of us.” Robin bit her lip, and he wondered if she was also thinking about the big Steve-sized hole in that—all of us, she claimed he had.
“We all get nightmares and stuff like that,” She continued, “And if you ever need to you can call me anytime, day or night.”
“Thanks, Buckley.” He said.
Wayne’s truck pulled up to the mailbox, the man himself waving from inside the cab.
Even with his broken arm Eddie could have driven himself just fine, but his uncle insisted on giving him a ride. He figured if it made the old man feel better there was no sense in arguing about it.
Eddie waved back, and turned to say goodbye to the girls.
“I guess I'd better go. Um, listen, Robin, is Steve okay? I just—I know he doesn’t want to see me, or whatever, but can you at least tell me that much?”
“I—He’s—Well,” Robin stuttered, opening and closing her mouth like a fish for a moment before finally snapping it shut. She studied his face, and seemed to come to some kind of decision, nodding to herself as she took a deep breath.
“Y’know what? Screw it, he can be mad at me if he wants to. Eddie, he’s a mess. He asked me not to say anything, especially to you, but—it’s so stupid! And it’s not like it’s some big secret that he hasn’t been around!”
Eddie’s heart sank. “What do you mean?”
“He put in for a leave of absence at work. He won’t leave the house, won’t let the kids come over—he hardly even lets me see him anymore.”
“Oh.”
The truck’s horn went off, the sound startlingly loud in the quiet night air when the only other noise came from crickets chirping softly in the grass. All three of them jumped, looking around in a panic, and Wayne rolled his window down to shout out an apology. “Sorry kids! And I’m sorry to rush you, son, but I gotta get you home so I can get to work.”
-
By two o’clock in the morning Eddie had put his jacket on, gone all the way out to the van with keys in hand, started it, shut it off again, and gone back inside—twice.
He couldn’t stop thinking about Steve.
Which, in and of itself wasn’t unusual, the other boy was never far from his thoughts. A little over fourteen days since he’d seen him and it still didn’t hurt any less.
The full out rejection. The radio silence. The complete avoidance.
He’d expected the rejection, although he assumed it would have come after his confession, but beyond that he’d expected to retain, at the very least, an awkward friendship after that. They still shared a brood of freshmen, and whether they were… friends or not, that fact alone meant they’d be forced to interact at least some of the time.
But it was clear that even friendship wasn’t on the table, and till now Eddie felt like he had no choice but to sulk and accept it. What he learned tonight changed things. He was worried now. Steve wasn’t only avoiding him he was avoiding everyone, and it had to be his fault, somehow. Eddie wasn’t stupid, he knew that much, and that meant it was up to him to fix it.
If Steve was avoiding the party in an effort to avoid him, well, maybe they could come up with a schedule, some sort-of joint custody agreement.
If it was something else? Eddie didn’t know what he’d do, but he’d figure it out.
He was still pacing the floor in the living room, wondering how early would be too early to show up at Steve's house in the morning to hash things out, when there was a knock on the door.
It was probably Max, he tried to tell his suddenly racing heart. She’d done it once or twice since he’d been home from the hospital, showing up in the middle of the night when she couldn’t sleep and saw his lights on. Still, he wasn’t about to get caught-out if it was someone less friendly stopping by for a visit this close to the witching hour, so he picked up the crowbar he’d taken to keeping by the door before easing it open to face whoever was on the other side of it.
“Wha—Steve?” Eddie stuttered out, genuinely unsure for a moment because the boy in front of him had hollow, lifeless eyes set above dark bruising, as though he’d slept even less in recent days than Eddie himself had. His hair was flat, face pale and drawn.
He was still painfully beautiful, because Steve could never not be that, but emphasis on the painful—the guy looked tortured, there was no other word for it.
Steve glanced around nervously, refusing to meet his eyes. “Yeah, I–uh, sorry to just show up—”
Eddie stood in the doorway, mouth agape, frozen in shock. He blinked hard wondering if he’d lost it, if he was hallucinating the other boy showing up on his doorstep like this.
“C–can I come in? Just for a minute.” Steve asked.
The urge to reach out and touch Steve to make sure he was real, was strong, but he resisted.
“Yeah, sure, o-of course.” Eddie turned, propping the crowbar back up against the doorframe and took a few steps towards the couch, assuming Steve would follow, but quickly realized that he hadn’t moved. Eddie glanced back over his shoulder to find Steve still standing on the threshold, staring up at a spot on the ceiling.
“You okay?” Eddie asked.
Steve startled back to life, clearing his throat awkwardly as he finally ventured inside, closing the door behind him.
Eddie sat down on the far end of the couch, hoping Steve would take the spot beside him, but instead he perched on the end of Wayne’s armchair across the room and dropped his head into his hands, leaning his elbows on his knees. Eddie was about to ask again if the other boy was okay, a dumb question really when the answer was so obviously no, but before he could open his mouth Steve began to speak—soft, and slow.
“Robin called me. She said you've been worried… a-about the loops restarting? And that you said, maybe if you knew–”
He trailed off, and was quiet for long enough that Eddie had to say something.
“Steve, what–”
“The original timeline,” Steve rushed out, raising his head to look Eddie in the eyes for the first time since he’d opened the door. “I remember it.” He swallowed hard. “And I know what started all this.”
Eddie's stomach sank straight through the floor, and for a moment he lost all sense of the world around him, the sound of static and his own heart pounding was loud in his ears.
This wasn’t happening, it couldn’t be real. He couldn’t possibly have heard Steve right.
“It was Owens,” Steve went on, his voice shaky. “Well, his people—the lab. I was there when they did it.”
Hearing that tremor in Steve’s words was what finally snapped Eddie out of it. This was happening, it was very real, and Steve was trembling from the remembrance.
“When we, uh—'' Steve dropped his gaze to the floor abruptly, as if suddenly realizing their eyes had met, and went back to staring at the carpet. “After we realized we’d failed, Robin, Nancy, and I, raced back to the trailer and I–I found Dustin sitting with y-y-your–” Steve stuttered, sniffling and wiping at his face roughly as he took a deep ragged breath.
“Your body. I checked for a pulse but you were gone… already going cold. It couldn’t even have been that long, but it was like that place was taking it from you, your warmth, and I—we couldn't just leave you there, so I carried you out. One of Owens’ colleagues, Stinson, she was there waiting for us on the other side.”
He paused, giving a little shake of his head. “She knew everything, including that we hadn’t killed Vecna because there were these huge cracks in the ground that ran all over town just like Nancy described in her vision. Then Stinson saw what I was carrying—you—and said she might have a way to help, a way to fix everything, but they'd need to take you with them. I–I couldn't just let them have you without knowing what they planned to do, so I went too, while the others went on to the hospital.”
Eddie was reeling, struggling to take it all in, to process what Steve was saying, all the while wanting desperately to comfort him somehow—but he was frozen in place.
“...Hospital?” He managed to ask, throat tight.
“Max.” Steve wrapped his arms around himself, glancing out the window in the direction of the girl’s house. “She was in some kind of coma or something. She died–”
Eddie gasped, bringing a hand to his chest. Red… he’d never known what happened to her in those first few failed loops.
“El brought her back,” Steve added quickly, head snapping back around at Eddie’s sharp intake of breath. “But she was dead—long enough to almost destroy the town. Four deaths, four chimes. It stopped spreading, the damage, when El brought her back but Vecna still won.”
“Steve, why–” Eddie began his question not even knowing what to ask first. It was all so much—too much.
“Why didn’t I just let them take you?” Steve guessed when he didn’t finish.
Eddie nodded, it was one of the many things he wondered about.
“I didn’t know what was going to happen, and I thought… th-the least I could do was make sure your uncle had a body to bury.”
Eddie threw a hand over his own mouth, stifling the sound that threatened to escape his throat as tears sprung to his eyes. He knew he’d died, and the dying itself had been no picnic, but to him the in-between had been nothing more than a bit of floaty darkness before he dropped back down into the world with a fresh start. He’d never really considered it from the outside—being a body for them to deal with, a lifeless husk that Steve had guarded if only so Wayne could have closure.
“We drove somewhere, maybe an hour outside of Hawkins where they’d built this big machine, kinda like, well, kinda like the Russians had under the mall, I guess. I didn’t understand most of it, science was never my best subject.”
Steve huffed a bitter laugh, rubbing his hands together as he continued.
“But, uh, they said it could reverse time, or like, send a few of us back for another chance at stopping Vecna? That’s what they wanted your body for—honestly it sounded crazy, like something out of one of Dustin’s science fiction novels, but they said they could use you and the moment of your death as some kind of anchor point, the event that would slingshot time back—and would keep snapping it back until you lived, and hopefully that would mean Vecna didn’t. We waited two days, until Eleven made it back. I wanted her there too so she would remember and be able to help. We were supposed to–”  Steve swallowed back a sob, his chest contracting as he raked his hands roughly through his hair.
“Eddie, I'm so sorry. We were supposed to remember too, you were never supposed to be alone in this. Maybe if I had, you wouldn’t have had to—”
“No,” Eddie cut him off. “Don’t do that to yourself. None of that is your fault, ok? It’s over. He’s gone, and we’re here, and that’s all that matters now.”
Eddie rose from his spot on the couch, and had barely taken one foot in Steve’s direction when the other boy shot up out of his seat like it’d suddenly caught fire, rushing towards the door.
“Steve, wait.” Eddie called out, catching up in a few short strides.
Steve froze with his hand on the door, but didn’t turn around. “So, you see? You don't have to worry anymore. It's—like you said, he’s dead and you’re not. The conditions were met. It’s over. That’s all I wanted you to know.”
The handle turned and Steve began to pull the door open, but Eddie couldn’t let him go, not like this, not without—
Eddie crowded up behind him, reaching past to slap his palm on the door, keeping it closed.
“Please,” Eddie quietly begged, close enough now to feel the heat of Steve’s body, to smell his skin. “Just, please… can we talk?”
“What else is there to talk about?”
“What else do you remember?”
“Everything, Eddie,” Steve breathed, barely a whisper. “I remember all of it.”
Eddie dropped his hand from the door, stumbling back. He should have expected it, because why would Steve only regain his memory of that first time, but for some reason it took him entirely off balance.
“When?”
“The first night you were in the hospital.” Steve turned to face him, expression resigned. “I fell asleep on a chair in your room and it was like—like a flash of lightning inside my head. I woke up and suddenly it all came rushing back. I thought I was losing my mind at first but eventually I realized what it was—that I remembered.”
“Oh.”
That was why Steve had left the hospital and never returned. Eddie had been right all along. He’d been right to worry. Steve remembered their time together—the touches, the kiss, and he regretted it all so goddamn much that he’d rather disappear than be anywhere near him.
Eddie curled in on himself, almost wishing that he’d just let Steve go when he’d wanted to.
“Don’t worry,” Steve said, reaching again for the door. “I won’t tell anyone what happened between us. I know it didn’t mean anything to you.”
Eddie almost didn’t hear it, already so lost in the dark storm of his own thoughts that it took a second for his brain to catch up with what Steve said.
When it did? His heart stopped.
“Wait, what did you just say?”
Steve sighed heavily, leaning against the door as though it was the only thing keeping him upright. “It’s fine, Eddie, really—I’m used to it by now. You don’t have to explain, try and make me feel better or anything like that. I—It was dumb to even think you might feel the same. I-I’m sorry I kissed you like that, I was way out of line.”
“What are you saying? What the fuck is happening right now?”
Steve scoffed, a little life—a little fire even, returning to his eyes. “Don’t! Don't stand there and pretend like you don’t know exactly what–”
“I don’t!" Eddie shot back. "I-I thought… It’s all backwards! Don’t you regret kissing me? Isn’t that why you left me at the hospital? Why you’ve been avoiding everyone, because you didn’t want to be around me?”
“That’s not—I mean that’s part of why I've been hiding, but it’s also everything else. I don’t know how you carried all of this on your own for so–” Steve cut himself off, clenching his jaw. “And why shouldn't I regret it? Once I remembered, all I could think about was how hard you tried to stay away from me, no matter how hard I—like an idiot—tried to get close to you. You didn’t want to share a bed with me again until I basically forced you to. You didn’t want me there with you at the Creel house—you were so angry on that last day, so disgusted with me.”
“Steve, no, it’s not–”
“What else was I supposed to think?!” Steve snapped. “I kissed you, I put it all out there in front of everyone, and I’m sorry that I didn’t remember, but you did! You remembered everything and you didn’t tell me! Well, message received loud and clear.”
Oh god, Eddie knew he’d fucked up but he’d never dreamed—Steve had it all wrong.
“Sweetheart—”
“You said it didn’t mean anything!” Steve shouted, tears flowing freely down his face.
Eddie's already broken heart shattered into a million pieces.
“I lied!” He shouted back, the words ringing out in the sudden silence as Steve stared at him, mouth half open.
“I… I was so fucked up after you died—still am fucked up about it. I was devastated, and terrified, and everything had just been ripped away from me—erased from history, and I was alone again.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“What was I supposed to do, Steve? What—how do you tell all of that to someone?!”
Eddie raked a hand over his face, blowing out a long breath. “Oh, hey, so I know you barely know me, and you won’t remember this, but we’ve spent the past week cuddling in your bed together and sharing our deepest thoughts and feelings and secrets, and then you kissed me, and now I think I’m in love with you?!”
Steve sucked in a breath, a wounded sound escaping his lips.
“You love me?”
Eddie sputtered, briefly considering making a break for his bedroom and locking the door until Steve left, but it was out there now, for better or worse. This had always been his plan, right? To tell Steve the truth—everything. It was time to stop running.
With all the courage he could muster Eddie held Steve’s gaze, and nodded.
“Yes.”
Without warning Steve surged forward, crushing their mouths together, and Eddie didn’t hesitate for even a second to kiss back. It was a desperate, almost painful thing, teeth clacking, and wet where their tears streaked each other’s faces.
Steve wrapped his arms around Eddie’s shoulders, cradling the back of his head as he deepened the kiss. In turn, Eddie gripped Steve’s side hard with his one good hand, trying to bring him in closer, whining when Steve broke away suddenly, only to rest their foreheads together.
“Eddie, I lo–”
“Don’t,” the word came flying out of Eddie’s mouth without his permission. “Don’t say it if you don’t mean it, please.”
“Eddie, I remember everything. I’ve been drawn to you since the very beginning. From the moment you shoved me into that wall in the boathouse it was like you brought the color back into my world, when I didn’t even realize it was missing.”
Steve smiled, cupping his cheek, and pressed their heads even more firmly together. “I love you too.”
Eddie sobbed, sagging in Steve’s arms as he pressed his face into the crook of the other boy’s neck. “I missed you so much.”
“I was right here the whole time.” Steve gently rocked them together.
“I know,” Eddie hiccupped, letting out the ghost of a laugh, though none of this was funny. “I know. It’s my fault. I knew I could try again, even if I couldn’t tell you how close we’d become. I could have tried to start over but I couldn't get it out of my head, how easily it was all just gone, how you were just gone and I—It was safer to not, easier, or so I thought. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Steve shushed him, pressing a kiss to his cheek and another under his jaw. “I’m sorry too, I should have talked to you, told you that I remembered, and let you explain like you wrote.”
Their lips met again, no less desperate than before. If anything it was moreso, hungry for each other on a maddening level after so much time apart and so many feelings thought unrequited.
Steve pushed his tongue into his mouth and Eddie welcomed the intrusion, moaning as he pushed Steve back until he was pressing him into the wall, caging him in, not once breaking the kiss.
And Eddie knew they should probably talk more, make sure they were on the same page, and they would, but for now he just wanted to feel him, smell him, taste him. He wanted to make Steve feel good.
His fingers played along the waistband of Steve’s jeans as he let his mouth roam lower, nipping and sucking at Steve’s neck, and came to rest on his fly, thumb grazing the button there.
“This okay?” Eddie asked, panting, lips still pressed to skin.
Steve nodded, breath hitching as Eddie went back to work on his neck, sucking a bruise into the side of his throat as he undid Steve’s jeans with practiced fingers.
Eddie sank to his knees, bracing himself with one hand on Steve’s thigh while he kept his casted arm tucked tight to his side. He looked up through his lashes at Steve’s flushed face, and grinned. “A little help?”
“Christ,” Steve breathed, quickly pushing his own pants and boxers down far enough to let his hardening length spring free, bobbing heavily right in front of Eddie’s face.
Eddie leaned in, ignoring Steve’s unfairly gorgeous cock for now, and rubbed his cheek along his thigh, mouthing at his balls and pressing lips everywhere except where Steve was so desperate to be touched.
Steve looked down with heavy-lidded eyes, reaching out to touch Eddie’s face, and Eddie shamelessly nuzzled into it.
“I dreamed about having you like this so many times.” Steve said, running his thumb along Eddie’s lower lip.
Eddie's own cock twitched, and he’d never been more thankful to be wearing sweatpants. He was already painfully hard and throbbing, it would have been unbearable in his usual tight jeans.
“You been thinking about getting me on my knees, sweetheart?” Eddie wrapped his hand around Steve’s length, squeezing gently as he lapped at the tip.
Steve threw his head back, gasping, “Eddie, fuck.”
“When was the first time? When did you realize you wanted to see me like this?”
As soon as the question was asked Eddie wrapped his lips around the head of Steve’s cock and sank down, slowly taking inch after inch into his mouth.
“The RV.” Steve grunted, breath stuttering as Eddie began to bob his head. “The very first time.”
Steve wound a hand into Eddie's hair, pulling it out of his face, gripping it lightly at the root. “It was so hot watching you hotwire it—you and those fucking hands. Then you called me big boy and I was a goner.”
Oh god, it really had been right from the beginning, and Eddie hadn’t known. He’d felt it himself, this pull towards the other boy even if he hadn’t really realized what it was until later.
Eddie moaned loudly around the cock in his mouth, taking it all the way down until Steve hit the back of his throat.
Steve shuddered, hips bucking. “It was the same in the second and third loops. You just–”
Eddie pulled back briefly to catch his breath, letting the head of Steve’s cock rest on his tongue as he stroked him with his hand.
“Oh fuck–” Steve squeezed his eyes, sucking in a breath, chest heaving. “Eddie, once I knew you each loop—every time—once I really saw you? I couldn't look away.”
Eddie sank down again, taking Steve right to the hilt this time with no build up. He doubled his efforts from before, swallowing reflexively each time the head of Steve’s cock slammed into the back of his throat.
“I’m close.” Steve hissed, bottom lip trapped between his teeth.
It was the only warning Eddie had before Steve pulsed in his mouth, coating his tongue in hot bitter fluid. Not that he minded, not at all. He swallowed it down greedily, hollowing his cheeks as he worked Steve all the way through his orgasm, swirling his tongue around the tip of him as he finally pulled off.
Eddie sat back on his heels while Steve recovered and he caught his breath, swiping the back of his hand across his chin, wet with spit and a little bit of cum that had escaped the corner of his mouth. He glanced up, locking eyes with Steve as he cleaned off the mess with his tongue.
“Jesus Christ,” Steve breathed, his spent cock twitching valiantly at the sight. He quickly tucked himself away, pulling his pants most of the way back up before helping Eddie to his feet and taking him into his arms.
Steve’s lips were on him immediately, tongue fucking into his mouth like he was trying to mirror what they’d just done. Eddie was pretty sure he’d never been so turned on in his life, and when he felt Steve’s thigh slide between his legs, didn’t hesitate to grind himself against it.
He probably could’ve come just from that, feeling pent up and insane in the best way, but when his movements became too erratic Steve pulled his leg back. Eddie whined into Steve’s mouth at the loss, until he realized what the other boy intended.
Steve snaked a hand up under Eddie’s shirt, his fingers brushing through the hair of his happy trail, coming to rest just above the waistband of his pants as he pulled back from the kiss.
“Can I touch you?”
“Please,” Eddie begged, feeling like he might explode before Steve could ever lay a finger on him.
Steve wasted no time pushing Eddie’s pants out of the way, revealing his poor neglected cock, red and leaking at the tip, and though Eddie was pretty sure this was his first time doing anything like this with a guy, Steve wasn’t shy about taking him in hand—licking his lips as he spread the pre-cum around with his thumb to ease the drag.
It was almost embarrassing how quickly Eddie came over Steve’s fist, his vision nearly whiting out with the intensity of it, and he was pretty sure he would have fallen without Steve there to catch him.
When he’d recovered enough to stand on his own two feet, Eddie pulled the shirt right off his own back, for lack of anything else, and cleaned up the mess he’d made on Steve’s hand, enjoying the way the other boy’s eyes raked over his suddenly bare chest.
“Will you stay? We could share my bed this time?” Eddie asked.
Steve smiled, pulling him in close and pressing a kiss to his bare shoulder. “Nothing could make me leave you right now. As long as you want me, I'm here.”
-
Though the bed and the room were different, laying tangled together with Steve was just as he remembered, familiar and comfortable, and now with the added bonus of bare skin. Having no more reason to cover up with each other they’d both fallen into bed in nothing but boxers.
They faced each other, cuddled up in Eddie’s favorite position, his head tucked up under Steve’s chin, face pressed to his neck.
They were quiet for so long, just holding each other and for a minute Eddie thought Steve had fallen asleep, until he heard a sniffle and felt a drop of wetness land in his hair.
“Stevie, sweetheart–”
Eddie tried to look up, but Steve curled his arms more firmly around him, squeezing him tight.
“You were dead. There was so much blood, and you were dead in my arms and I can’t stop seeing it when I close my eyes.” Steve sucked in a sharp breath, a few more tears splashing the top of Eddie’s head.  “I didn’t even know you that well yet and still–”
Eddie rubbed his hand along Steve’s back in soothing circles, giving him comfort and the space to grieve without pushing him to say any more.
When he was calmer, and his crying slowed, Steve spoke again. “Thinking back on it with how I feel about you now, I just, I don’t know how I'd survive if something happened to you.” He drug his lips along Eddie’s temple. “I’m sorry, I know that’s a crazy fucking thing to say so soon.”
Eddie pulled back, and this time Steve let him, so he could finally look him in the eye. “It’s not crazy, or if it is, I mean, I get it. I—Steve, I feel exactly the same way. I was already so far gone on you, and then you kissed me and it was–It was like you were giving me everything I ever wanted and more. But then you died. If Jason hadn’t come along and shot me that night, I would have done it myself just for the chance to bring you back.”
Steve tilted his head, reaching up to tuck a stray curl behind Eddie’s ear. “Maybe we’re both crazy.”
“Maybe.” Eddie smiled, a little bittersweet for the truth of it. “I’m sorry that I didn’t try to tell you. I–”
“It’s okay. Baby, you don’t have to keep explaining yourself.”
Baby.
Eddie shivered, but he couldn’t let what hearing that one little word did to his insides distract him from what he needed to say.
“I–I was just so scared. I knew If I got too close to you again and it ended the same way, it would destroy me. I thought if I stayed away that I could protect myself, but I was already so in love with you. Staying away hurt almost as much as losing you would have. I think… a part of me was also worried that you were just exploring yourself with me, and I couldn’t handle the idea of only being your experiment. It wasn’t fair of me to put that fear on you, to not give you the benefit of the doubt. I was an asshole. I made a bad situation worse, and I’m just so sorry.”
“Are you still worried about that? That I’ll freak out about this, or change my mind?” Steve asked, not sounding mad or hurt, just wanting to understand.
“I’m trying not to,” Eddie answered honestly. “But, maybe—a little. There’s nothing quite like getting punched in the face right after your first kiss to make you cautious.”
“I’m sorry that happened to you. I promise this isn’t some fling or experiment to me. I–I meant it, Eddie. I love you.”
“I love you too.”

Note
i think that something that also ads to the appeal of the tf2 mercenaries is that they are regular blokes. they are stylized, but they aren't magical anime boys with perfect skin, a perfect 6 pack and nauseatingly charming ways.
i can imagine having a drink with any character from tf2. i can't say the same for games like valorant or overwatch
YEAH. OATH.
They're entirely (physically) normal people. Which imo makes them all the more appealing. Just a couplea guys being dudes. It helps a lot with seeing them as more realistic characters compared to Outlandish Heroes in shit like Overwatch.
I wanna drink with all of them and Sniper can sleep in my bed. Not for gay reasons I just think he'd appreciate the condition of Matilda cuz he's a camper bloke too.
"Big bed."
"It's a ✨queen✨."
"Got a twin."
"How the hell does your tall lanky arse fit in a twin–"

More thoughts about The Tenant of Wildfell Hall after finishing it…
1 good movie adaptation WHEN?
2 the themes of universalism and the idea that everyone can change if they want it bad enough and nothing is permanent and we have the ability to make choices and self-destruction has social repercussions bc it affects the ppl around you… yeah, my heart is full!
3 helen successfully microdosing her own child with poison to give him a pavlovian response to alcohol so he wouldn’t end up as an alcoholic like his father and grandfather because she intuitively knew he had a genetic predisposition to addiction despite having no modern knowledge of science or psychology. excellent.
4 the shit helen goes through in this novel is unreal. our girl is basically trapped in a frat-house — complete with the booze, drugs, laughter, fraternizing, sportsmanship, anti-intellectualism, infidelity, and rape culture.
5 as a sad aficionado of the romantic era & byronic studies i can 100% without a doubt say that not only is arthur based on some popular victorian conceptions of lord and lady byron and their marriage, but the brontës must have been familiar with biographical writing on byron’s life! i’ve found several academic texts to support this and it’s 100% true.
6 also, as a person who grew up with relatives who suffered from severe substance abuse and mental illness, i’m pretty confident in saying that the brontë sisters must have had some inside knowledge to spark their sustained interest in writing about these subjects. there are specific details and feelings pertaining to these topics which are documented with so much acuity it must have been personal to them. it seems a lot of academics theorize this as well — however, i still don’t know enough about the brontë family biography to form my own opinions on this topic yet!
7 helen is such a progressive mother (considering her circumstances and level of education, and the non-harmful drugging aside which is questionable today but within the narrative understandable) and her theories on education and parenthood are so advanced.
8 i think arthur’s friends (especially mr. hargrave and annabella) are as bad as he is, considering the fact that they enable him and they could easily use their influence to try and sway him considering but they choose not to — only partly because he’s the “leader of the pack,” but partly because they also have zero respect for helen and enjoy openly bullying and abusing her in her own household
9 big shoutout to the servants in this novel who are the real heroes. all throughout the novel (especially starting from Gilbert’s POV considering he and his family are a little poorer off than those of the Huntingdon circle) we see the lower-classes and smaller owners gradually triumphing against the upper-classes, gentry, and larger land owners. i love the line about rachel having to sell helen’s fine gowns for cheaper ones, and how helen notices that rachel still looks decent while dressed like a more common woman.
10 the very ending with everyone’s resolutions was a bit choppy and rushed but i don’t mind because everything went how i wanted it to go lol. but the ending for arthur/helen — the fact that he never repented, but helen still believes in universal salvation nonetheless, and still took care of him even though she didn’t have to, after everyone else abandoned him — the person he treated the worst still cared for him when no one else did — she fulfilled all her marital vows and he fulfilled none of his — his fear of death — her letter of december 5th, her holding his hand until the very end — his last words, “pray for me!” don’t leave me!” — all the unspoken words on her part, her feelings of helplessness, her telling him that she cannot save him, his crying and cursing the world — her fainting from exhaustion — him continuing to act like a brat on his death bed — her taking control, her cleverness with the contract — her lack of closure — aahhhh! just so heart wrenching and frustrating and angsty yet also cathartic and realistic.

Act I, Chapter 7 - The Party
The next morning, the companions went to the druid grove, leaving you alone with Scratch and Withers once more. They figured with the goblin leaders dead, the rest would have fled, and camp was safely tucked away. Halsin had left before dawn, probably to get an early start dealing with whatever had happened in the grove while he was gone.
You were surprised when the companions returned mid-afternoon.
“Back so soon? Are we packing up?”
Karlach grinned. “The tieflings are comin’ here to celebrate before they head out!”
You couldn’t hide your surprised reaction quickly enough.
“Don’t worry, that’s why we came back early,” Wyll said. “To help you prepare.”
You weren’t worried; you just liked having a bit more advance notice than, say, a few hours. You could handle a big party, but you preferred smaller, quieter settings.
You immediately went into project manager mode, directing everyone to complete certain chores. By the time your first visitors began to trickle in, you had several game birds and a large boar roasting over a large fire pit. A rabbit stew was bubbling in a pot over the campfire. A second makeshift fire had a berry cobbler, and there was an array of wine and spirits set up on a flat rock nearby. Apparently the goblin camp had plenty of liquor to loot.
Fortunately, the tieflings brought some food as well, and everyone had a merry time. You flitted around, making sure everyone had enough to eat and drink. Everyone seemed nice enough, and even the kids were well behaved. You kept your gloves on, which had been the right decision, since a lot of people shook your hand, thanking you for the food.
You spoke with your companions too, just to make sure they were also doing well. And they seemed to be.
All except one.
You couldn’t quite tell what was causing his grumpy countenance, so you asked him how he was doing. You quietly listened as Astarion vented about not wanting to be a hero and having vinegar for wine.
You took his bottle away and took a swig. You immediately grimaced; this particular bottle had a heavy red wine, dry and sharp. “Yeah, this red is not… to my tastes.”
“See? Awful.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“But it’s what you meant,” he countered.
You gathered two things from this conversation: one, he needed to have the last word, and two, he was probably hungry. “You’re being grumpy. Should I feed you and tuck you in?”
He glared at you for a moment, before his eyes lit up, as if he suddenly had a great idea.
Oh gods, what now.
“Are you suggesting we steal away together? Privately?”
“I, erm—”
“We could make our own fun. Get a little closer, so to speak.”
Let me finish my damn sentence. “That’s not—”
“—what you meant?” he finished for you.
You glared at him.
He took a step closer to you. “All teasing aside, I am feeling a bit peckish.” He glanced at your scarf, which you had put on just in case of accidental contact. “Does your offer still stand?"
"I suppose," you replied, but you were wary of the suggestive smirk he was giving you now.
"Excellent. Come to my tent when everyone is gone, so we can have some… privacy."
You nodded, but part of you was already dreading it.
***
The party went on into the night, but some time before the witching hour, you bid farewell to the last of the guests and shooed the companions into their tents, insisting that clean up could wait until morning.
You waited thirty minutes before sneaking into Astarion's tent.
He was lying on his side, his shirt off, casually reading The Quarta Sune, the book open to a very explicit diagram. He closed the book as you stepped inside and knelt down beside his bedroll.
"I was waiting for you," he murmured as he sat up.
Then he glanced at your neck. Without him asking, you tipped your head to the side.
"Can’t get enough of my bite, can you?"
"Just shut up and drink," you said without any real venom.
He got onto his knees and leaned forward. His hands held your shoulders, and through his touch you felt… almost nothing at all. As if he had built a wall around his heart and was hiding desperately behind it.
Something’s wrong.
He breathed in the scent of your neck before biting down. You braced yourself against the physical pain of the bite, but you didn’t need to steel yourself mentally. His usual emotions were barely there. After a few deep draws, he released you, languidly licking the blood from the wound before kissing it lightly. You should have felt something, even a flicker of fondness. But you felt nothing from his touch.
He’s disassociating.
“There, all better,” he said, giving you a sensuous smile. A light smear of your blood remained on his lips, and his eyes glimmered with new strength. He really did look like something out of a romance novel, and your eyes followed the movements of his tongue as he licked the blood away. If you hadn’t known that his actions were purely performative, you might have fallen for it.
You reached up to your shoulder and touched his hand. “You’re not actually attracted to me, Astarion.”
His eyebrows rose, his mask cracking for a moment before it reformed in the blink of an eye. “Of course I’m attracted, darling.” His free hand cupped your chin. “How could I not be when you feed me such a delicious snack in the middle of the night?”
You took his hand and gently moved it away from your chin. Holding both his hands in yours, you stared into his eyes to make sure he was listening, truly hearing you. “And I’ll always feed you. So you don’t have to put on a show for me. Just be yourself.”
…confusion…
You let go of him. Your hunch was right. It was as if no one had ever done anything for him without a price. Your heart broke for him.
Holding back your own emotions when they threatened to push you to tears, you instead smiled softly at him. “Now, if you’re feeling better, I need to rest.”
On a whim, you leaned forward and pressed your forehead to his. “Sweet dreams, Astarion.”
You quickly left his tent, but you glanced back to see him watching you, a puzzled look on his face as the tent flap closed behind you.
***
Just as you were about to crawl back into your bedroll, you heard a rustling in the bushes. Slowly walking towards the sound, you stopped short when you saw the owlbear cub limping towards you, blood on its front paw that it was favoring with each step.
“Oh, poor thing,” you murmured. “Wait here a moment,” you told it, hoping it would understand. You went to the party’s traveling chest and pulled out a couple of potions and some cured meat. Returning to the creature, you were relieved to see it had plopped down on its hindquarters, watching as you knelt down in front of it.
You lay down the cured meat, and though the creature looked at it warily at first, it eventually began to eat. Meanwhile, you uncorked the teal colored bottle and smelled it. Yup, this was the one you were looking for; it was hard to mistake the smell of hay, musk, and manure for any other potion. Holding your nose, you chugged the potion as quickly as possible. You resisted gagging as you waited for the potion’s effects to take hold.
Seconds later, you could feel that your hearing had become a bit sharper, as if there was a layer of sound in the world that suddenly became audible. You could feel the path of communication widening in your head, and it gave you a slight headache.
“Can you understand me?” you asked as a test.
The owlbear looked up, wide-eyed in surprise. “You talk?” The voice sounded like a young boy in your ears.
You smiled. “Yes, I can talk.” You held up the red bottle. “Are you hurt?”
He held up his injured leg. Taking his little paw in hand, you uncorked the healing potion and poured a few drops on the wound. The cut closed up a little, so you slowly poured a bit at a time until he was fully healed.
“There, all better,” you murmured, realizing belatedly that Astarion had said the same thing to you earlier. Shaking your head of the memory, you brought yourself back to the present and began a conversation with the cub. Chatting to the little guy was intriguing. You were charmed by his wish to be stronger, to fight bigger opponents and grow strong.
“So, will you stay in my camp?” you asked.
“Yes. Smells nice here. You have food.”
Simple desires. You already loved this cub. You would kill anyone who tried to hurt him.
From the corner of your eye, you could see Scratch slowly approaching.
“If you stay, you will need to be friends with Scratch,” you told the cub.
The cub looked over at the dog. You beckoned him over, and he loped closer.
“Is this a new friend?” Scratch said. He sounded a bit like a young man.
“Yes, a new friend.” You pet both of their heads. “Let’s all get along, shall we?”
Scratch made a soft chuffle in agreement before looking at the cub. “I’ll show you around. The best sleeping spot is…”
Their voices trailed off as they wandered away together. You couldn't help but smile, even as your head continued to pound. The effects of the potion would wear off soon enough, so until then, you’d have to just deal with the headache.
But it was worth it.
***
Morning came far too soon. You were exhausted, but as much as you wanted to sleep in, you had to get up and start breaking down the camp. It was time to head towards the githyanki creche. Lae'zel had been insistent that it would hold the key to solving their tadpole problem, and the rest of the group figured it couldn't hurt to check it out for now, before heading to the Moonrise Towers that Halsin had mentioned. In fact, the large druid was now accompanying your party, as a thanks for helping him escape from the goblin camp.
As you followed the group towards the mountain trail, the base of your spine tingled.
Godsdammit.
You opened your mouth to tell your group that you had a weird feeling about all this, but you thought better of it. Maybe it was nothing. Maybe you were just being paranoid.
While you were debating whether or not you should say something, you could hear everyone exerting themselves. Looking up, you watched everyone jump over the broken stone bridge with ease.
Gods DAMN it.
“I’ve got you,” Gale said as he waved his hands and gestured in your direction. You suddenly felt light as a feather.
Karlach waved you over encouragingly. “C’mon, jump!”
You peered over the side of the bridge and felt your heart leap into your throat. Backing away from the edge, you shook your head. Maybe you could find another way around and catch up to them later.
“Come now, no time like the present,” Astarion said from beside you. He leapt over the chasm gracefully, landing like a cat and spinning around to give you an arrogant sneer.
You snide son of a—
“We’re waiting,” he mocked.
Gritting your teeth, you took a few steps backwards, ran, and leapt right at him out of pure spite. However, the spell had made you much lighter, which threw off your sense of gravity. You floundered in the air as you practically floated over the chasm.
Astarion smoothly stepped out of the way as you landed and stumbled, nearly falling over until Gale gripped your upper arm to keep you steady.
“Right, up you get,” he said. Once you had your feet properly under you, he let you go and brushed your sleeve where he had grabbed you. “Ready to go?”
“Yup,” you said, your voice a pitch higher than normal. He smiled, nodded, and quickly turned back to the path along with the others.
You carried on behind them, watching their backs. So strong, so able. You felt a little helpless compared to them. Even Scratch and the cub were able to easily leap across the bridge without assistance.
Am I holding them back? Perhaps I should have parted ways with them at the grove.
Shaking your head of your negative thoughts, you traveled north, through rather pretty mountain pathways, with the occasional wraith coming to harass your party. You were quite impressed by how your companions would quickly trounce their enemies, so you felt safe. Gale would always stay behind with you and sling spells from a safe distance while the others charged ahead.
As you carried on along the trail, the base of your spine tingled again. This time, you couldn’t ignore it.
“Hey, I think—”
Shouts interrupted you. As the path crested over a hill, you could see in the distance a group of githyanki facing off against some mercenaries.
Lae’zel dropped her backpack and ran off. The others immediately followed suit.
“Stay back here and hide,” Gale called out to you over his shoulder as he ran with the others.
You quickly grabbed everyone’s packs, dragged them off the road, and hid in a copse of trees. Your spine kept tingling, non-stop.
What in the hells…
A large shadow flew overhead, drawing your attention skyward.
What in the hells, indeed.
A red dragon, majestic and terrifying, with a rider on its back, glided past. You saw everything from a distance: the bridge burning, bodies flying, the dragon soaring away. The smell of burnt flesh and unintelligible angry voices floated towards you. You trembled as you realized that whatever you had gotten yourself into, it would probably only get more dangerous from here.
I should bail. They don’t need me. They can handle themselves.
As the group came back from the wreckage to get their packs, you had resolved yourself. Clearing your throat, you mentally prepared yourself to speak.
“Lae’zel scouted ahead,” Wyll said before you could say a word. He picked up her pack as well as his own. “We should catch up to her.”
Without giving you a chance to say anything, the others began to walk towards the mountain path. You followed, wondering if they would even notice if you turned around and left now. Then you shook your head of the notion. Of course they would notice, because then they’d have to cook their own food and put up their own tents.
And you hadn’t collected this week’s wages yet.
Though if you were being honest, you weren’t staying just for the job anymore. You were staying for the people. You had grown attached to them, begun to care for them not just as people who were paying you a wage to take care of their camp, but as actual friends. And friends didn’t leave without a damn good reason.
Like my life being in danger.
All of their faces came up in your mind. Small moments, smiles, and words of gratitude. A certain someone’s face tended to show up more than the others in your memories.
You sighed.
Perhaps I should decide later.

Note
I just realized: If we look at all three arcs, the heroes only got one solid win. The first arc ends with the Fall of Beacon. The Second arc had them win. The Third arc ended with the Fall of Atlas and Mantle. I would like to think the Vacuo Arc would have ended in a win, but I'm not sure.
Alright, let's break it down, Volume by Volume, big fight by big fight.
Volume 1: Emerald Forest, Jaundice, Dock Fight
Three wins and plenty of room to grow.
Volume 2: Paladin Fight, Beacon Dance, Mountain Glenn
Win with collateral damage (that everybody was pissed about), one loss for the good guys with the data stolen by a disguised Cinder Fall, and one win for everybody at Beacon Academy, this time with somehow more and less collateral damage? I guess it was more contained than entire highways and bridges being damaged.
Volume 3: Vytal Tournament, Battle OfBeacon
Oh boy... This is where the losses start to stack... RWBY and JNPR made into the finals, but... Well, by the end, Penny and Pyrrha died, Team RWBY got separated, Yang lost an arm, and Beacon Academy and the CCT network was disabled. This coming from a previous volume where there was a joke about Ruby getting words wrong.
Volume 4: Volume 4...
This is the point where we learn the dynamic of RWBY Volumes, which is with the flow of seasons. Volume 1 was spring fresh with new beginnings, Volume 2 was action-packed summer adventures, and Volume 3 was drastic and horrible changes like the leaves in autumn, leading us to Volume 4, which hit us non-stop with L after L after L. Yangst, Weiss being abused, Blake having her kitty pity party, and Team RNJR (IT'S JNRR) having to survive Tyrian Callows, the Nuckelavee, and the harsh reality of being huntsmen and huntresses... Oh, and also the Brother gods are real.
Volume 5: Battle for Haven, Menagerie
By the end of Volume 5, everything starts looking up. The White Fang disbands after failing to assassinate the Belladonnas, Ruby and her friends manage to fend off Cinder's group, the good guys learn new abilities and limitations, and Cinder gets dropped off a cliff by Raven. Overall, a good Volume. A couple losses, but still a lot more wins.
Volume 6: Knock, knock! Who's there? It's REALITY!
And... it's gone. The wins. They're gone. Sure, we end this Volume with Adam's death and Ruby's group escaping to Atlas, but... this was also when RWBY stopped looking like young heroes and more like trouble-maker teens with good intentions doing more harm than good. And they don't get any punishment, really. Not to mention that we also learn the truth about Salem and Ozpin. Not many Ls, but only because they're still cooking.
Volume 7: You lost, but you won, but you still lost
Starting off, we have Team RWBY and group getting captured by the Ace-Ops, serving as a sort of marker for where they'll by Volume end. Until then, we have Team RWBY failing to stop a public massacre, a rigged election, and end with martial law being established over all of Atlas. But hey, at least we stopped Jacques Schnee, got out licenses to kill, and some sick-ass upgrades to our old gear!
Volume 8: I want off General Ironwood's Wild Martial Law
OKAY! So we start off with Penny being pressured to do something she doesn't want to and NOBODY is talking about it like adults. Even fucking General Ironwood isn't backing down. But then again, he's probably still riding the high of shooting a child and suffering from the low that it wasn't a kill shot. But yeah, this entire Volume was just low after low after low after LOW. There is no positive to this Volume. No Ws for anyone. Now get back on the bus. It's time to go to Saturday detention.
Volume 9: Guide~! My~! Way~! Out~! I'm what inspired the fairy tales~...
Real talk. You listening? Okay... I will say that V9 isn't the best Volume. Compared to V2 or V5, it's barely squeezing in at third. However, THIS is my absolute favorite Volume. In terms of Ls and Ws, there's definitely a couple Ls, biggest of all to Ruby, but she also gets the biggest W of the entire Volume. V9 has the best moments, the best music, and even the best villain of the entire series, even if they weren't even main antag level. Everything about Volume 9 served it's purpose as a spring chapter. It's coming out of the cold winter and into the new beginnings of spring.
That said, I understand that this being said AFTER RT already announced their shutdown, but I think the show says it best. Never lose hope, keep moving forward, and remember that victory is in the simple soul.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Linktober Day 6
Mask(s)
Soft and sweet with just a hint of melancholic because 1.I'm tired and probably need a nap father than coffee, 2.I actually managed to make a pretty good mocha and the Anchorage LOZ animatic came onto my playlist before writing this and it kind of influenced my mood, and 3. I'm saving the usual Majora's Mask flare of angst for another prompt because I was having way too much fun dissecting the tragedy of the Hero of Time before sleep deprivation snatched the idea away which is usually my sign to pass the heck out and save the second option for when I have more energy lol.
For the Warriors fans, also Warriors is a disaster of an older sibling but we adore and appreciate him for it in this household, as always can be implied romantic or platonic between him and reader.
You were all but pinned down to the ground, brought down more effectively and unable to find the strength to get up.
Well, not literally, there were no enemies nearby, the chaos at camp had long since died down and there wasn’t anything much to do now that night had fallen, the heavens deigning to put all of it’s glittering jewels on display.
Were it any other day you’d probably focus more on appreciating it in full, the fire was crackling merrily, you were safe and had a full stomach and even with the ever present threat of the Shadow possibly deciding to ambush you all while most of your guards were down, you had your boys with you and the crisp autumn petrichor was a balm on your soul, weary from the journey.
Maybe it would be fine to rest for a little while.
And then the small figure clinging to you flinched, burrowing closer and holding onto your tunic like a lifeline. And awareness came to you like a smack over the head with a log, your fingers gently carding through blond locks as you hum gently. Weighting options and just how quietly you could move without bothering the precious Sprite at your side.
You had guessed Time had been a sweet kid, and you still wanted to lodge a formal complaint with the gods for writing such cruel fate for him because the man couldn’t catch a break and you’re not the only one to take it personally. But he was killing you here, this is how you die, with an adorable but oh so heartbreakingly sad little boy having fallen asleep leaning against you after telling you all sorts of stories about his extensive mask collection.
(You don’t know wether you want to cry, scream or laugh, Mask was so, so young. It breaks your heart, just a little.
Really, the deities of Hyrule must adore tragedies. Bastards.)
Sighing, you decide to compromise, gently keeping the Kokiri boy right where he is, fast asleep and with barely any nightmares as you hum and card your fingers through the spun gold strands, you brush your fingers through the last masks he fell asleep mid through telling the story of how he’d acquired. If you were careful surely you’d be able to reach his pack on his side so he wouldn’t worry later.
A pair of brown boots invade your vision, Warriors crouches down. You think you spot a flash of surprise on his eyes as he spots Mask napping on you, and then fond amusement of a big brother you knew he directed often towards Wind, tone low, “Well would you look at that, out like a light. It’s a rare honor for him to trust anyone like this.”
You chuckle a bit, shaking your head, “I can tell, he’s a good kid. I’ve barely met him for a day and I’d already take on an army for him.”
“Welcome to my world.”, comes Warriors dry response, though you both knew he was a hundred percent serious, his own mask quickly falling away as he gently picked up the Deku Sprout Mask to put it back in the small sprite’s pouch, hiding it’s confused, fearful sadness from your gaze (and it’s an effort, not to twitch, as your rage towards Majora gained even more kindling to burn) as the soldier handled it with the due solemnity of being one of the few Mask would allow to even touch the masks without his immediate supervision, “... I never thought I’d see him again, as...”
“I know.” Your tone was quiet, as you carefully picked your choice of words.
If there’s one thing you knew about any Link, is that they’re all really good elder brother’s and that they are too hard on themselves. Warriors specially, Mask and Wind were his everything, there wouldn’t be words that could describe how gutted he was, after confirming his suspicions with you, regretting not saying anything against Mask joining the battle field back then, loathing himself for not convincing him or Lana into letting him stay in spite of his bad feeling that as soon as the young hero of time passed through that portal he was unlikely to ever meet him again.
... You settle for something simple, instead, reaching a hand to softly pat his head, taking care not to mess his hair too much, “You did good, Wars, it’s not your fault. Mask also knows you did your best.”
He still, sighing, the mask falling away as he guides your hand to his lips, quietly thankful (really, like big brother like little brother, your wonderful, silly, caring boys. You make a point to cheerfully bat away the butterflies in your stomach, ), “... Feels hard to believe that, some times. Thank you.”
You hum, after putting the Zora mask away, Warriors takes Mask’s other side, pulls you closer and breathes.
(Just in case, he lies to himself.)
You quietly listen to his stories about his little brother, and Warriors is content.
#linked universe x reader#linked universe warriors x reader#will I ever post the original story I was gonna use for this prompt?#who knows certainly not my sleep deprived self lol#more implied than romantic if you ask me but frankly that's about what I expected when Warriors decided to show up on this prompt#man is the most charming of the Chain but you can't tell me he would know where to begin with any sort of romantic feelings#so lots of unspoken understanding happens here instead so it's up to interpretation lol#Reader: I've had Mask for a day and a half but if anything happened to him I'd murder everyone in Hyrule and then myself.#Warriors. Approving: I know this. And I love you (feeling unspecified).#The Rest of the Chain: And we support you#Is Warriors wanting to be close in reference to the Kohga prompt?#Does he just want Mask and Reader close because he is smart enough to infer what happens to him#Does he just want them there because like all Links he has several abandonment issues?#Who knows! I just know that he is rife with trauma tokens so you all can spin the wheel and decide#Mask is probably Warriors biggest regret and I am going to shake people about it if not stopped#You can't tell me that he wouldn't have wanted to take him in once he learned he was an orphan traveling all alone with his pony in the WoA#All Links are big sibling coded just on different wavelengths#The WoA was just Wars accidentally picking up several feral strays while a war happened in the back#ex Mask Wind Tetra Skull Kid and Linkle#summer writes linktober 2023#summer writes
