I forgot to share this here, but here’s some compiled clips from that time, a few weeks ago, that I helped one of my friends move across the United States. I don’t have any clips from the east coast, as I started filming when we reached Texas.

I went on a 3-week cross-country road trip from Toronto to Vancouver in May. We passed by a few abandoned motels, went hiking in the Rockies, and wandered through the streets of downtown Vancouver. Here's a video montage of the trip!

Took a lot of pictures with my Hasselblad 500CM and my Canon Rebel G, so you’ll see a mix of 6x6 medium format and 35mm. I shot 28 rolls of film in total and tried Kodak Gold 200 for the first time. 

It was a very touristy trip in that we went to all of the popular scenic sites. I wanted to go ridge hiking, but my family weren’t happy with the idea of summiting an 800-meter elevation gain. It took us 5 days just to get to Banff, and so there wasn’t a lot of time to stop and explore all of the Prarie towns in between. Lots of abandoned towns in BC that we didn’t get a chance to detour to either. But that just gives even more motivation for anyone to want to explore all of the nooks and crannies in Canada. 

We had already done the east coast road trip twice, and we’ve driven to California 4 times, but this was our first time road tripping all across to Canada’s west coast.

Dreams

I had a really amazing dream about my mom this morning. I don't dream about my mom that much. I guess because she died when I was pretty young. And a lot of the dreams that I have of her aren't happy dreams at all.

But this was such an awesome dream. I dreamed we were on a road trip. And then the first of the dream we were in a convertible. We were passing all these roadside attractions and these roadside attractions were huge in a way that could only exist in your dreams. They were towering over us on both sides of the road. I had a digital camera and I was telling my mom how I was so happy to have it because if I was shooting on film I would have run out of film a long time ago but I can pretty much keep shooting forever on a digital camera without running out of room.

I was kind of young .... I guess. Definitely younger than I am now. Maybe about the age I was when she died ---probably 10 or so. I was having to lay all the way back in the seat to get some of the pictures because everything was so huge.

Then we drove by this refinery and we got out of the car and into what was like a roller coaster seat. All of a sudden we were shot into the refinery like it was a giant roller coaster and we were going so fast. In the dream it felt so real, I could feel my stomach drop into my toes and I was closing my eyes to keep from being sick.

Then we got back in the car and back on the road and stopped at my Mimi's house. In my dream it looked exactly the way it did when I was a kid.

Suddenly the convertible turned into a much older rundown car with a hard top. My mom went inside and said she was just going to pick up a few things and then we were going to go back on the road again. I was happy not have to say that long, because of the dream I did not get along with my aunts at all. These aunts came outside and we're quizzing me on all this different stuff and I was not wanting to talk to them. When I went back to find my mom, she was gone and she had taken my purse, my keys, my wallet and my phone with her- I had left them all in the front seat of her car. I was stuck at my grandparents' house and I had no idea how to call my dad to come and pick me up. I was not happy to have been stranded there by myself. But everything as far as the house, the location, and how everything looked, it was exactly the way it looked when I was a young child.

Despite the ending, it was a really great dream.❤️

It's the first day of Autumn and I'm currently on a train going through the southern Pennsylvania mountains headed to Washington 😁 My partner and I started this trip by spending a couple days in San Francisco and for the last four days have been on the Amtrak going across the country headed for New York city, which we'll be in later today. But the views have been absolutely insane.

The Redwoods on the west coast, going though Utah and Colorado and seeing the mountains, rivers and wildlife. Then going through Nebraska and Iowa seeing nothing but flat plains of corn and cows for miles. And then going back to huge tree covered mountains and rocky river beds through Pennsylvania and Maryland. Plus the weather pretty much through out the whole trip has been dark clouds and rain with little peaks of sunshine so needless to say the autumn vibes have been immaculate. 🛤️🌲🍁🌾🌿🍂⛰️🏞️🌳🌧️🍃

the next morning

Somehow, Yuu and Grim actually got some rest. Too bad Crowley didn't think to warn the rest of the staff about the wayward youth.

Crewel went to the infirmary early to make sure the potions were fully stocked. The professor was surprised to see a student already there. 

His presence wakes Yuu up, which in turn wakes up Grim. The pair got roughly five hours of sleep. Not too bad, all things considered. Still not great.

True to his name, Crewel shows no mercy and doesn't hesitate to reprimand what appears to be an aspiring troublemaker.

Couldn't they have waited at least a day before getting into trouble?

The duo just kinda watches in a sleepy haze.

“What are you doing here?”

“I should be asking you that, pup.”

“Huh?”

“Not even a full day and you're already in the infirmary!”

“Huh?”

Crewel doesn't know it, but he just met the most troublesome students to grace the halls of NRC.

Meanwhile Crowely has been working harder than he had in over a decade. A new type of monster had been popping up all over Twisted Wonderland, and the first real lead on their origin had just appeared in HIS school.

How troublesome.

Dire Crowely, being the responsible man that he is, decided the best course of action would be to call for a meeting of his most reliable staff to see if there is any way he could dump this mess on someone else, delegate the responsibilities that will be gained once the child's origin comes to light. Because as much as he wished to keep his school secluded and away from prying eyes, the new breed of monsters could not be handled alone.

Intent on retrieving Yuu for the upcoming staff meeting, Crowely enters the infirmary and sees Crewel is also there. How convenient. 

Crowely dragged Yuu and Crewel away. Grim isn't interested in a boring meeting, but when the headmaster tells him to stay put Grim complains.

Why wouldn't you want the Great Grim?!

Crowely waves him off, saying it’s confidential.

Paths diverge, Yuu with the staff and Grim, unsupervised.
