Im not sure how long i had this blog in general. Maybe in late May??? Probably June.
But im just reflecting on things. Losing my old tumblr blog and emails before being hospitalized and sent to a facility. Then coming back making new emails and having to start over.
You'd think something like this would devastate me. But months earlier my house caught on fire and i lost all my sketches and artwork. I lost memorable items, manga collections i had since high school.
It was all gone. So some d*** hacking my phone and making me lose access to my emails and logins was the least of my problems. But when i went through living with someone who wanted to do s*xual things to me, being coerced while i was in psychosis and being assaulted.
I felt lost. Luckily when i was hospitalized i found God again. So i was working on getting back on the straight and narrow after i thought i was being spiritually attacked and realizing someone put a curse on me. (I think i know what happened but its another story for another day) And the psychosis took time to wear off.
In the meantime i managed to make a tumblr account again and start over. And i think its probably been about 2 or 3 months (getting out of that psychosis fog finally thank God!) And im not as patient and docile as i was before during the bits i was in psychosis. But im trying my best to stay close to God and Jesus and lead/live by example.
I feel like there's a lot i can thank God for and even if its just my psychosis i truly believe i am God's servant and soldier. I've been through so much and i had been so tough through it. It was scary, but braving it through and being patient taught me how to go about my life. It also taught me the importance of faith and my priorities.
I also realize that i can be really sh**ty to people i dont know online. But we can only blame negative and toxic internet culture for that. So i started vowing that i'll try to treat people the way i wanted to be treated online. Even if we are 'enemies' i'll still be nice and kind and give you advice on being a better person.
I wanna be the light for people online. Even if im posting dumb f/o and fandom related stuff. I wanna be that person where people see my icon and say "Theyre not perfect but they really try their best to be positive"
Like i said before i dont expect everyone to like me. I shouldnt care what others think of me either. But if someone says im toxic and i dont try, i'll tell them they are a liar. Because even before i got on here again i have been trying my best since the accident. I've slipped, fell, made lots of mistakes and had a hard time staying holy and righteous on my spiritual journey.
But anybody who judges me dont know what i went through. Dont know why i am the way i am. Dont know that im constantly improving me. With God and Jesus in my life, i may not know it all but i understand things a lot more than i did before. And im appreciative of Yahweh than i have ever been.
I know all of this is temporary anyway. Though i am appreciative of what i have now. Im not too keen on who we stay with for the moment, but im thankful i got a place to stay until we move. There's a lot to be grateful for now. And even though she drives me nuts, im grateful to have my mom.
These past few months in 2023 have been crazy. And i dont know how long i'll have this blog and side blogs. But im grateful it made it this far. And who knew i'd like Saitama from One Punch Man 🤷‍♀️ ?
But the fact i jumped from Enrico Pucci, to Joseph Joestar, to Saitama so quick worries it wont last. But i might have to force this hyperfixation somehow.
Anyway, I hope i didnt bore you too much. And i know most people on tumblr dont take time to read things. But i'd say: Count your blessings, be grateful for even the smallest things, appreciate your friends online and irl, and dont take things for granted
ty y'all have a good day, God bless, and drink plenty of water✩

Seminar 2 - Film Notes
Here are my notes for this week’s films.
how all departments can contribute to world-building and overall mise-en-scene.
the effectiveness of each department's contribution.
how well the narrative is communicated within the short form.
how well the time is used and whether the stories sustain for the duration of the film in films over 10 mins.
characters' point of view and character relations - how pre-conceived expectations and judgements can be manipulated by film-makers to inform the narrative direction and audience experience.
Submarine
(20:50)
https://vimeo.com/233685439
Interesting cuts where people change sides, breaking rules of 180 and blocking.
Worldbuilding - feels apocalyptic, gives good sense of this through character dialogue. Lots fo setup from the character reactions.
Many of us didnt know this was a true event
We didnt really get the story
Confused by time jumps in bar (wasnt actual time jumps but felt like it was)
Missing contexts due to not lviivng in lebanon during time
Is her only intent being passive rebellion? We have a character who is so passive to their surroundings, only real worry is their window and getting laid. So the idea that this person was so hardcore protesteor who got their bones broken. Interesting character who used to be a protestor and is now passive. >> someone who has given up and doesnt give a shit anymore - romanticised passivenes??
We feels you could easily half the film in terms of story, but we loved sitting with the look with the film.
Romancised that there was a whole world here, and now we’re seeing the shit end of it. And the two romantic characters had something and now it is gone - everyone is evacuating.
Is the narrative their interpersonal conflict, is it her protestor past, is it the broader idea of infrastructure collapse.
Good consistent tone through visuals. Great production design for the world. Intimate shots, then once everyone leave change to wide shots.
Feels very slice of life, realistic, despite how heightened the situation is.
Romance didnt benefit the film, but loved their chemistry.
Listen
(12:54)
https://vimeo.com/196593911
Trigger warning – ‘Listen’ deals with themes of domestic abuse, violence and racism
Hail Mary Country
(18:36)
https://vimeo.com/286448015
Felt like an amazing version of an aunty donna sketch
>> would love to see a feature of this
Felt really short, quick paced. Tension was drawn out. Setup was crazy and slightly messy
Performances were amazing
Resolution was a bit satisfying
The fact they hang dong, repectfully. It takes thr apects of sexiness, and uses them for not sexy things. Reversal of gender roles. Usual guy characters have become women.
Colour grade was sickly. Popped in certain moments.
>> costume and character design works well in sets. Look at any person in family and be able to immediately get personality. Gives sense of heightened reality.
Toned down slightly (colour grade) gives homely americana, sitcom vibes.
The Shining Star of Losers Everywhere
(18:38)
https://vimeo.com/176459945
Documentary format
Interesting animation styles to show story
Good pace fo storytelling
Music kept engaged
Use of colours!! Very clear art direction
Never left location
Animation played part in pacing, instead of showing actual horse racing - to be able to distinguish a single horse, and focus, gave sense of character.
>> doesnt show grim side of horse racing.
Good message about not having to win.
Skeleton Heart
(3:16)
https://vimeo.com/319704456
Also by Submarine director Mounia Akl, that I thought might be of interest for a couple of the more experimental ideas
Sound design didnt add much
Didnt understand the story - no skeletons
Worlds biggest ringlight

OKAY SO
i didnt expect to go digging through all my old 14 year old art tonight but here we are, thanks @omegasmileyface for reminding me of it, i had fun revisiting this AU.
At first i was only gonna show a couple pictures but i forgot the LORE i made for this Astro Boy X Danny Phantom crossover LMAO
FULL RANT UNDER THE CUT TO SAVE Y'ALL'S TIMELINES IF YOU WANNA SKIP THIS LOL
Okay so.
2012.
Originally the crossover was (and remains to be) with the Astro Boy 2009 movie. Astro's dad builds a ghost portal i think, but when Astro goes through it his blue core got kind of infected with Ectoplasm allowing his robotic body to retain a ghostly nature. Essentially i made Astro a halfa without thinking of what on earth the implications of a half robot half GHOST could even be but yk i was 14 i didnt think that far ahead. More on the Ectoplasm/Blue Core stuff later, though.
((Side note: I don't recall how exactly Astro ended up from the future to Danny's time, knowing my 14 year old self it was probably something super convoluted involving natural time portals i think?? BUT basically i think Astro gets stuck in the past so that's how. uh he and danny meet and Danny helps him with his new ghost powers))
ANYWAY
I did a few conceptual ideas of what his 'ghost half' could look like, and for some reason i really liked the idea of his outfit being purple and green, like 2 opposite colors (though one sketch i did explore was basically a DP ripoff).
Also i gave him a white stripe on his hair for his ghost half.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anywho this was what i decided to go with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You may notice he's got one green eye and one purple eye. That was me trying to show he's got 2 halves, the blue core and the ecto-nature. ((why is it purple, tho??)
WELL LET ME TELL U SOME LORE I MADE UP THEN
I came up with this concept/ghostly element called Black Fire. Basically, when the blue core energy and ectoplasm mixed together, it created a very powerful element called Black Fire ((also i think i made up that ectoplasm had small amounts of red core in it?? it doesn't matter really tho lol))
ESSENTIALLY Black Fire is a very chaotic element that only wants to consume things, which Astro has a very hard time controlling.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah and it can take over his mind at some points - again, due to the chaotic nature of the black fire, all it wants is to consume. And this is POWERFUL stuff.
Tumblr media
This unfortunately gathers the attention of some elder ghost dudes, ((and i don't... exactly recall if i made them up or if they actually WERE from the Pariah Dark episode its been too long since ive seen that, but if I didn't make them up they're the ones that sealed Pariah Dark in that coffin thing)) but essentially they're like:
"Oh shit this well meaning kid is wielding one of the most deadly elements in the ghost zone, we have to seal him away just like we did Pariah Dark, otherwise the Black Fire will literally take over his mind".
Which i literally made a comic about but i won't be posting all of that in here LOLOL, it is wayyyyyy too cringy, but I'll post a few highlights.
I ALSO found a SYNOPSIS for the little comic i wrote which I will now transcribe:
Astro has been constantly possessed by an evil power- Black Fire - and it is slowly taking over his mind and body like it did Pariah Dark. The Keepers are now placing Astro in a sleeping prison like they did for Pariah, but as it turned out it was the greatest mistake they ever made... for sleep makes the body unprotected, and Black Fire can fully consume the person or ghost it resides in [uninhibited.]
In this first picture, you see how he has one red eye? CUZ MY 14 YEAR EDGY SELF WAS LIKE "OH WHAT IF HE DIES CUZ VLAD KILLS HIM AND THATS LIKE LITERALLY WHERE THE DEATHBLOW STRUCK HIM"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANYWAY
So i'm not sure what happens next between this instance and the next part of the au, or if I scrapped this part and then changed things around BUT -
this Au can be promptly divided into 2 parts, the first part where Astro is a Halfa, and the second part where he becomes a full on Ghost.
Tumblr media
O look costume change, now he has a full on cloak instead of a hoodie
And you see how he has one red eye? YEAH THAT'S CUZ MY 14 YEAR EDGY SELF WAS LIKE "OH WHAT IF HE DIES CUZ VLAD KILLS HIM AND THATS LIKE LITERALLY WHERE THE DEATHBLOW STRUCK HIM"
Essentially the idea that as he becomes a full on 'ghost', the black fire energy is now tamed/more controllable because it is a part of his being as he was reborn, and not something that affected him.
however he is now the first ghost to ever be born with "Black Fire" (something that before always grew inside and consumed ghosts or people) so he is put into the care of Clockwork to help figure out and be properly taught how to control such a powerful ability.
Tumblr media
14 year old me was WILD man
ok im at my picture limit so im gonna follow up with another reblog i think or maybe another post idk cuz i got a few more things i wanna show

Let me explain Sai and Ino's love life to everyone who is still saying "I don't know how they ended up together": 💜
People really be jumping to Boruto series without knowing what has happened in the Naruto series after the war arc. So here is Sai and Ino's relationship throughout the entire Naruto canon timeline.
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN MANGA
First and foremost, Sai and Ino met in the very early episodes of Naruto Shippuden. Ino immediately had a crush on him because he was handsome, also noting that he looked like Sasuke. That is basically Ino, the flirty girl as we know. Having a crush and falling in love are two very different things.
Tumblr media
Sai was introduced as a character with no emotions and feelings whatsoever. The reason why he thought Ino is "ugly" in their first interaction was because he didn't know what a real beauty is. He had no emotions/feelings, how do u expect him to understand beauty? Ironically, despite this, he called the opposite of what he thought at her, "Mrs. Beautiful" - building the foundation of SaiIno (Also Ino being the only person who didnt get insulted by Sai's nicknames.)
So, here Sai thought Ino was ugly and Ino had a crush on Sai solely because he was handsome. Two flaws, alright. Most of the fans know their relationship up to here. But that's not even close to the end of Sai and Ino's relationship before their marriage.
Moving on. As Sai and Ino are both side characters, they had almost no interactions on-screen afterwards in the manga, until the Fourth Shinobi War Arc. In the war, both Ino and Sai had each other in their Infinite Tsukyomi dreams. Ino dreamed of Sasuke and Sai fighting over her and Sai dreamed of Ino, along with his other close friends acknowledging his smile. (Sai's dream was in anime-only).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This proves that both have had interactions off-screen to the point that they were already very close friends before the war began. Morever, their Inifinte Tsukuyomi dreams reveal that by the war arc, Ino likes Sai as much as Sasuke (as she did not choose Sasuke over Sai in her ideal life/dream), and Sai likes Ino complimenting him.
During the long timeskip after the war Ino and Sai eventually starts dating. This was revealed in a spin-off manga chapter written in Akamaru's point of view by Kishimoto, where he spotted Sai and Ino together on a date and described them as "A couple totally on fire".
Tumblr media
Around a decade later, in the very last chapter of the Naruto Shippuden manga (Chapter 700), they were shown married with a son together.
That's the end of Naruto manga contents for Sai and Ino's relationship, as expected not much because Naruto manga is NOT a romance manga.
BLANK PERIOD
Now, for those who wanted to know more about Sai and Ino's romance and the ship's further build up during the timeskip between the end of war and Boruto (Blank Period), there was a Novel series called Hiden. (Note: All Blank Period Hiden Novels are approved canon, illustrated and proof-read by Masashi Kishimoto, the author of the Manga himself). The Blank period is a part of the official canon timeline.
As mentioned above Novels are the stories of all the important events that took place during this blank period, including the romance between the characters. Get ready to hear one of the cutest love stories of Naruto series.
1- SHIKAMARU HIDEN NOVEL
Ino lost her crush on Sasuke long back and is pretty much not into any relationship. This was until in Shikamaru Hiden events, Ino read a letter which describes Sai's tragic life. Since then Ino wanted to know even more about him than she already does. Ino was sent on a mission with her fellow ninjas to help Shikamaru and save Sai, who has been caught in a very strong enslaving genjutsu by some enemies. Her top priority after reading the letter was nothing but to save Sai.
As they confronted the genjutsu-controlled Sai, for some reason Ino believed that she is the only person who could save Sai. Ino risked her life and used her Mind Transfer Jutsu on Sai, in other words, Ino's soul entered Sai's body. Ino dived deep into his mind but all she could see was darkness. She didn't give up and tried to find his soul by diving even deeper into his mind despite the fact that it could be a threat to her own soul too. Ino finally found Sai's soul crying deep inside, covered with his memories and darkness. Ino learnt about him (in the novel it says "She knew all about him so much that it hurt her"). Ino called out for him and showed his soul the path out of the darkness. Ino cleared his mind hence saving him from the genjutsu, also giving colors to his colorless soul. Ino's soul then hugged Sai's soul with a heartfelt smile ~ A hug between two souls.
Tumblr media
This is the point where both of them fell deeply in love. The point Sai achieved his dream, the point where he got his emotions and feelings completely back. This is the first time he felt this much kindness from someone and learned what a true beauty is. When Sai is successfully saved by her, the two wake from Ino's jutsu and Sai finds himself resting on Ino's laps. Sai instinctively reaches for Ino's hands and he expresses his gratefulness to her, as her eyes begin to tear up, by affectionately calling her "Thankyou, Miss Beautiful". This time, he truly meaning this unlike the first time he called her beautiful. "Idiot" - replied Ino. And this time, Ino fell in love with Sai, not because he resembles Sasuke unlike the first time they met. This interaction was the complete opposite of the first time they met. This is how their love story began ladies and gentlemen. *Tears because how beautiful this is*
2- SAKURA HIDEN NOVEL
Later, while Ino and Sakura was on their way to Sand village to participate in an international Medical Ninja Conference, Ino reveals her love for Sai to Sakura after what happened. She was thinking of confessing her love to him properly but was unsure which flower to give him: Flower Dogwood or Lavender. Ino, the botanist explains that in Flower language, Dogwood means "Accept my feelings" while Lavender means "I'm waiting". Sakura tells that Ino was more of Flower Dogwood type, as she wants a direct answer from Sai. Whilst for Sakura herself, Lavender will be the best because she is willing to wait for Sasuke.
When they returned back to Konoha after the conference, Ino finds out Kakashi has sent Sai alone on a dangerous mission. Ino gets worried and questions his safety, and is angry that Kakashi let him go alone. After Sai returned and Sakura got kidnapped, Ino ran to Sai's place to inform him about Sakura's disappearance. When she arrives, she becomes flustered to see Sai only in his underwear, as he was taking a shower right before she came.
Tumblr media
Following the crisis, Sai and Ino together goes on a mission alone to save Sakura upon Hokage's orders. They are the only couple besides Sakura and Sasuke who did a mission together alone in canon. Sai and Ino flew on a Choju Giga Bird, and Sai comforted Ino as she was afraid flying and had a difficulty maintaining the balance, causing her to feel a sweet warm sensation well up within her heart. They both together infiltrated a hideout. The Saiino duo's teamwork was amazing and flawless.
After Sakura is saved, they had to fight the enemies. Ino, who has been usually positioned near the back lines during close ranged combat situations was now instead supporting Sai with her taijutsu and healing Sai's injuries with her medical ninjutsu. Sai and Ino confronted a very powerful enemy, Magire who was drugged with Tailed Beast chakra, but their flawless teamwork and bond strength lead to their victory. Sakura, and Sai himself compliments Ino on how well she works together as a duo with Sai, getting Ino blush even more. Later Sakura prompted Ino and Sai to have a date dinner together, where Ino possibly confessed him with flower Dogwood and that is when they started dating.
3- KONOHA HIDEN NOVEL
Tumblr media
As usual, Sakura and Ino keeps on fighting and competing, and now Ino takes a lot of pride with her blossoming relationship with Sai, claiming she has better love life than Sakura and that she will get married before her, much to Sakura's infuriation. After some days, Sai and Ino attended Naruto and Hinata's wedding ceremony as a dating couple holding hands, with everyone around them admiring their relationship. (Bonus: SaiIno is the only couple that was featured in The last opening of Naruto, Opening 20 (Karano Koroko).)
4- SASUKE SHINDEN: BOOK OF SUNRISE NOVEL
Tumblr media
Later, after Ino was hospitalized due to the injuries she had after stopping an invasion, Sai was with her at the hospital all the time. Shikamaru and Chōji decide to visit Ino at the hospital and find that Sai is watching over her whilst she sleeps as he sketches a flower that Ino's mother brought her. Shikamaru and Chōji asks Sai to come with them for some investigation, but Sai remains, claiming that he will leave as soon as he has completed his drawing, however, Shikamaru notices several of Sai's already near-completed sketches in the trash as he exits. Sai intentionally made many half-complete drawings and discarded them before completion because he doesn't want to leave Ino. Shikamaru and Chōji realize that Sai did not want to leave Ino's side and begin discussing how much he has changed from the emotionless man he used to be after he met Ino.
Ino and Sai then got married, and had a wonderful wedding ceremony where Shikamaru and Choji were both so happy for Ino that they cried and wished their sensei, Asuma was there to see Ino. Sai and Ino's wedding ceremony is the only ceremony to have been mentioned after Hinata and Naruto's wedding. Well, that's the end of their relationship's details in the Blank Period Novels. Sweet, right?
NEW ERA: BORUTO ANIME, MANGA AND NOVELS
Sai, now married to Ino is the only male known to have taken his spouse's surname upon marriage, being now a part of the great Yamanaka Clan, finally having a family of his own. This family confronted gossips and prejudice from the villagers, and Ino's relationship with Sai was not well received by the Yamanaka Clan, all due to Sai's dark past in the currently disbanded Anbu Root. Despite all this, they managed to be as happy as ever. It is when he married to Ino and got to hold Inojin in his arms, Sai finally felt free and got control over his own life after years of being a puppet to Danzo.
Tumblr media
As Boruto series is the story of the new generation, it's main focus from the Yamanaka Family is obviously Ino and Sai's son, Inojin Yamanaka. (Trivia: It is believed that Inojin's name is a mixture of Yamanaka Clan's customary name prefix "Ino" and the suffix "jin" is reference to Sai's late brother Shin). Sai has already told his son Inojin how his mother, Ino saved him with her shintenshin and how they fell in love, and Sai uses the same method (a hug or an affection) to calm Ino down when she gets upset or angry now. Boruto notes that Sai's only weakness is when it comes to Aunt Ino. According to Ino, Sai has never forgotten their anniversary throughout more than a decade they have been together. Although Ino remains as boisterous as ever, Sai is the sole person that gets Ino to fluster despite how angry or upset she is since beginning and even now.
Tumblr media
According to Kakashi, Sai and Ino is the most beautiful couple he could imagine, and they both are so close that it seems they are glued to each other, noting that they are like a peculiar picture. Sai and Ino also often gets teased by their friends because how close and affectionate they are even in the public. Ino takes pride in Sai's ninja abilities and Sai takes pride and is proud of Ino's abilities. Ino is thankful that she moved on from Sasuke (Her childhood crush), because according to Boruto Manga, Ino now she feels bad for Sakura, whose husband, Sasuke visits her only very rarely, noting that she has been living such a perfect love-life that she cannot even imagine having a husband who is hardly at home. She is thankful for Sai, so is Sai for Ino. In one of the Boruto Novel it is stated about Ino:
"Because her husband was the one she knew was the best in the world" ~ 💜
SO,
I do not think this much of content, especially for a side-couple is less at all. It's more than enough, It's explained perfectly well. Only people who aren't having an idea on Naruto complete series will question or doubt SaiIno's relationship. So "Random couple", "Ino likes Sasuke because he looks like Sasuke", "Sai is a Sasuke rebound", "Ino lost to Sakura in love-life becuase she couldn't marry Sasuke" arguments are all total crap ~ 💕
AND FOR THOSE WHO SAYS SAI AND INO DOESN'T HAVE CHEMISTRY...
Sai was an emotionless and socially awkward boy who worked for the Root Section, meanwhile Ino was an emotional and lively sociable girl who works at a flower Shop, what else do you see other than the raging chemistry between this root and flower? The flower that baths in sunlight and the roots that grow in the dark! It has everything. They perfectly fits into the Yin (Sai) and Yang (Ino) philosophy Kishimoto seems to have considered when making the couples and friendships. As mentioned above Sai is the only man who can make Ino blush since beginning and even now! Ino had no problem with glomping on Sasuke and hugging him, but Sai calling her "Beautiful" makes her blush - See the difference? They both are perfect for each other. Ino gave colours to Sai's black & white life. Ino was a rainbow when Sai was colour blind. Not to mention they both wear crop-tops with exposed midriff. In addition Sai and Ino is the most affectionate couple who has shown most PDA (Public Display of Affection) content and closest moments together so far. I'd argue they have the most chemistry and couple symbolisms.
There, its done.
I hope its clear how they ended up together now 💕 So again, saying SaiIno is forced or random / Calling Sai a Sasuke Rebound / Saying Ino settled for Sai because she didn't get Sasuke as a plan B / Ino lost to Sakura in love life / Sai and Ino don't have chemistry- is making yourself a huge 🤡, actually an entire 🎪
Thankyou 💜

CURSED: CHAPTER FOURTEEN
“Accusing, Denying”
Kai Parker x OC!Mack Grace
Series synopsis: "We're both cursed, in a way."
We all know the story of Kai Parker, but he once lived in a very different life. Do you ever wonder what that life looked like?
Chapter summary: a new person arrives, Kai gets jealous
Warnings: swearing, mentions of death
Masterlist | series Masterlist
Tumblr media
School was starting again, and Mack was loosing her shit. It was the first time that the reality of Ben's death had truly dawned on her.
But not in the way you'd expect - she wasn't guilty, nor was she upset. No, she was anxious and terrified about people finding out what she had done. They would notice, after all - who doesn't show up for the first day of school when every student either wants to be them or fears them? There's no logical reason as to why Ben wouldn't be there, Mack thought.
Except he's dead, she thought.
Mack took a deep breath, composing herself as she pushed open the front door, shouting a goodbye to her dad before letting the door slam shut behind her. The rumble of Kai's car engine echoed in the chilly January morning air, Mack's breath forming a little cloud before her at how cold it really was. She reached the black Jeep, wrapping her fingers around the handle and pulling the door open.
"Nice car - I see you've really done a lot to it over the Chris holidays!" Mack drawled and Kai smirked.
"Thank you for noticing! I went to this new place - I think it's called something like 'my girlfriend is a raging bitch who turns into a werewolf' or something like that." Kai smiled brightly back, sarcasm dripping from their words like syrup. Mack shook her head with a little smile, rolling her eyes as she plugged her seatbelt and dumped her bag on the floor by her feet.
"Whatever." She laughed, smiling happily against Kai's lips as he pulled her in for a languid kiss.
"Good morning." He mumbled against her lips as he pulled back, voice still slightly rasping and making a small shiver rattle its way down her spine and straight there.
"Morning." She murmured back, barely aware of Kai's amused smirk as he figured out what happened.
"I'm warning you now, Malachai Parker - this month will be one hell of a ride." Mack mused.
"And why is that, Princess?" Kai asked with a sickly sweet grin.
"I thought I told you no to call me princess." Mack deadpanned and Kai smirked.
"And I thought I told you not to call me Malachai." He shot back and Mack huffed. "So why is this month going to be one 'hell of a ride'?" Kai asked again and Mack smirked at him this time, causing one of Kai's brows to shoot up.
"I was checking dates, and it turns out - the full moon isn't the only cycle you'll have to worry about this month." Mack grinned and Kai's eyes widened, a hollow groan emitting from his plump lips.
"They're happening at the same time?" His eyes bugged and Mack nodded, smugness plastered on her face.
"Yep." She countered, popping the 'p'.
"Fucking cycles." Kai muttered under his breath, begging to pull out of Mack's drive way and making her laugh. Mack's head snapped up at the sound of rustling and she instantly rolled her eyes.
"Pork rinds? Really? It's fucking 8am!" She exclaimed as Kai popped one into his mouth, chewing nonchalantly threw a smile. "God, you are unbelievable sometimes." Mack scoffed, leaning back into her seat and listening to Kai crunching the rest of the drive to school.
...
Mack and Kai wandered to their lockers once they reached the school, Kai leant against his while Mack rummaged through hers - clearly trying to find something.
"What have you lost?" Kai asked, trying to hide his amusement as Mack nearly threw some book on the floor in frustration. She groaned, slamming her locker door shut and looking at Kai.
"My sketches! The book filled with everything I was going to use to get a scholarship!" She exclaimed, rubbing her forehead with stress. Kai stood up at this, now concerned because he knew how much she cared about going to college.
"Well maybe you took them home?" He suggested and she shook her head.
"No, I definitely left them here." She mumbled, now looking around them to see if someone had stolen the book or something. She froze when a whisper reached her ears though.
"Have you seen Ben? He hasn't contacted me since before Christmas." Someone Mack recognised to be one of Ben's friends asked another guy worriedly.
"Don't worry yourself, man. He's probably black out drunk somewhere or hanging out with some chick. Chill." The other guy responded, grabbing a book out his locker before letting it swing shut, and Mack let out a heavy sight of relic as the walked off. Then her eyes landed on something and she seethed.
Mack stormed over to the clearly obnoxious boy, fists clenched and face red as she walked over to him.
The guy was tall - nearly taller than Kai - with wisps of curly blonde hair fluttering over his forehead and the rest piled messily on top of his head like a mop of curly wool. His eyes were dark, so dark the nearly looked black (a stark contrast to Kai). But even from where she was Mack could see he was muscly, with thick arms and most likely a toned stomach, but for now he was clad in baggy jeans, a lose fitting t-shirt and a faded blue denim jacket - with pulled out and distressed seems. Overall he was the opposite of Kai, who had darker, straight hair; deep steel-blue eyes, and was quite scrawny and slim (that didn't mean he wasn't still a beast in bed). Kai also opted for leather jackets, much darker jeans, often black, not blue, and band t-shirts - AC/DC, Nirvana etc.
When she reached him Mack slammed her hand into the lock beside him, the metal door slamming shut and catching the distracted boy's attention.
"Hey, you have something mine." Mack demanded bluntly, eyes narrowed at the large sketch book clutched in his left hand. The guy looked down - following her gaze - and held the book up.
"Oh, this? I didn't know it belonged to anyone. It was only ok the floor when I found it." The guy shrugged, before leaning in. "But I'm sure we could arrange something so you could get it back." He said, almost seductively, but Mack merely snorted.
"That's won't be necessary. You're going to give me my book back and I'm going to go back over there to my boyfriend, while you piss off and find another girl to bother." Mack said with a sweet smile, pointing behind her to Kai who was still stood at their lockers, jealousy in his eyes as he watched the whole thing from afar.
"I think you should give me a kiss first, after all, I did pick up your book, rather than let it be trampled on." The guy smirked, leaning down again so that his lips her beside Mack's ear and his eyes were on Kai. "And if you're lucky maybe I'll have you screaming later." He whipped and Mack pulled back, a shiver going through her.
"Give it back." She demanded, but he held it above her head.
"Not until you give me a kiss, sweetheart." The guy chided and Mack sighed a frustrated groan.  She leant up quickly on her toes, pecking the guy's lips so quickly before grabbing her book from his hand and instantly grimacing, wiping her lips and turning back to face Kai.
What she saw scared her, his nostrils flared and face red as he watched the scene before him.
"I think your boyfriend's a little jealous." The guy mused in Mack's ear, head at the side of hers as they both watched Kai slam his locker shut.
"Come with me." Mack demanded, grabbing the guy's bicep and dragging him along with her.
Mack pulled the boy into the first empty room she found, hand clasping his wrist tightly as she pushed past the tables and chairs before forcing him to sit.
"What the hell was that?" She seethed, a dangerous glint running her eyes. The boy laughed, smirking nonchalantly.
"What? I was saving you! That punk doesn't deserve an ounce of your respect, damn it!" The guy defended, raising his hands in surrender when Mack tried to hit him.
"Save me? Of for God's sake! I don't need saving, Kai isn't going to hurt me!" Mack was doing everything in her power not to rip the boy's head off.
"That's not the was Kim explained it!" He exclaimed and Mack groaned.
"So Kim sent you?" Mack seethed and the boy nodded. "Who are you? What's your name?" Mack demanded and he chuckled.
"Feisty one, you are." He mused and Mack's gaze darkened.
"What's. Your. Name?" She spat through gritted teeth.
"Shawn." He said and Mack nodded.
"Well, Shawn, you can tell my sister that I don't need watching-"
"So that you can kill another of her boyfriends? I don't think you." Shawn said and Mack rolled her eyes.
"I didnt kill anyone!"
"You and I both know that's a lie." Shawn whispered, now stood up and caging Mack against the desk, his breath fanning over her cheeks as he spoke.
"Kenz?" Kai's voice grabbed her attention and Mack's head snapped up, looking at Kai her eyes soften.
"Kai!" He slowly made his way into the room and Shawn snooped off, slipping past Kai.
"I'll leave you two alone then." He commented before Kai help up a hand.
"You're not going anywhere." Kai's eyes were burning, he looked like the epitome of rage. "And you." Kai said pointedly, looking straight into Mack's eyes, "better explain who the fuck that is, right now." He seethed, pointing at Shawn but not taking his eyes off of Mack and she glanced never pushy between them.
"He's um, a friend of Kim's..." Mack stuttered and Kai scoffed.
"Yeah, right. Who is he?!" Kai demanded, slamming his hand on the desk next to Mack and making her jump.
"No one!" She yelled and Kai's nostrils flared, his face red.
"Oh really." He replied bluntly and Mack looked at him in shock.
"Yes really! If you have a problem, then tell me!" She dared and kai stared her down, his gaze flitting to Shawn momentarily.
"I'd better not keep you, your boyfriend's waiting." Kai spat, a dark glare overcoming him as he glanced at Shawn, who was loitering awkwardly in the door way, not really sure what to do. Mack followed his gaze for scoffing.
"He's not my boyfriend! I hate him!" Mack claimed and Kai looked away, rolling his eyes.
"Whatever." Kai dismissed.
"Kai!" Mack exclaimed.
"What?" He shot back dryly.
"Stop!" She shouted as he began to walk towards the door, ready to shoulder past Shawn.
"Why?" He bit back, pausing but not turning to face her.
"Because I love you, you idiot!" Mack's words made Kai's jaw clench, his eyes cloud with anger as he looked from Shawn and back to Mack again.
"Maybe you should've thought of that before you got yourself a little lap-dog, huh?" Kai sneered before pushing past Shawn and put into the throws of students busily shuffling through the crowed halls, disappearing into the mass of people.
Mack set her jaw, tears staining her eyes and she looked over a Shawn. A dark look was in her eyes as she walked past him, too.
"Mack, wait!" He called after her but the girl was already gone.
...
Mack's fingers drummed against the tabled restlessly, head turned away from Kai who sat beside her. He would huff every thirty seconds, shorting her a dirty glance before looking away again.
The door opening made Mack sit up straight in her chair, as nothing interesting ever happened in this class. Normally her and Kai would entertain each other but as the boy refused to speak to Mack, it was proving a very dull lesson.
Three men in uniform strode in, guns in the belts at their hips and walkie-talkies strapped over their chests. "POLICE" was written in white over their backs and the word made everyone switch on, murmurs and whispers floating around the room like a wave. Mack noticed Kai straighten up at this too, Mack's stomach dropping as she tried to swallow the guilt.
The tallest of the three men cleared his throat, turning to face the class while his two colleagues spoke quietly to their teacher.
"Hello, students. I am Officer Moore," he spoke authoritatively, "and today I am here to tell you something that may be...shocking." There were whispers floating about. "So," he said a little louder - grabbing the students' attention, "if you all quiet down, we'll get to business."
Mack's leg was bouncing furiously under the table, hand clenched into a tight fist and she bit her lips to stop herself letting out a sharp gasp at the pain of her nails digging into her sweaty palm. Kai reached out for her hand, uncurling it and holding it tight in his own, clearly not bothered about the little crescent-shaped cuts that were now leaking blood. The gesture calmed Mack, and she soon settled, the feeling of Kai's skin on hers comforting.
"We are here to tell you that Ben McCoy," he paused, murmurs erupting around the room at the mention of Ben, "has been declared a missing person."

You sigh as you swing your legs back and forth from the countertop you were sitting on. Currently, you, Renjun, Chenle, and Jeno were all at Hyuck's house hanging out. Your sigh catches the attention of Renjun which prompts him to ask "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing." You say, trying to brush it off.
He furrows his eyebrows. "It's not nothing. If it's bothering you this much why don't we talk about it?"
You pout at him, hoping he'll pick up a sign that you don't want to, but still he insists that you tell him what's wrong.
"Well.." You mumble. "Jisung said he wanted to talk to me tonight.."
"Sorry, what?" Renjun asks. "I didn't hear you."
"Jisung said.. he wanted to meet up to explain everything." You say, a little louder this time.
"Jisung what?!" Renjun exclaims, getting the attention of everyone else in the room.
You sigh in defeat as you watch Jeno tense at the name of his ex-friend.
"What's this about Jisung?" Jeno asks.
"Nothing." You mumble, trying to find something else to talk about.
"No no, it's okay. I won't be upset." Jeno reassures. "What about Jisung?"
"He wanted to clear up a few things with me." You answer, glancing at the clock propped up on Hyuck's kitchen wall.
Donghyuck seems to notice how fast your eyes move and asks "Tonight?"
"Yeah. In like an hour or so actually." You confirm.
"Are you sure you want to go?" Renjun asks you.
"Well.. yeah. I kinda want an explanation."
"Are you sure?" Chenle asks. "Like, one hundred percent sure?"
"Yeah?" You nod, confused on why they seemed so concerned with you meeting up with Jisung again.
"Why?" He asks.
"I literally just told you why." You answer, annoyance prominent in your voice.
"Okay." Chenle says, backing off, hands raised in defense.
"Do you, uh, need a ride?" Donghyuck asks, hoping to clear the air a bit.
"Yeah, sure." You agree, hopping off the kitchen counter. It takes him back a little, he wasn't expecting that kind of response, especially that quickly.
"Oh, uhh, now?" He asks as he watches walk towards his hallway.
"Uh, yeah?" You say as he looks at his two friends and his boyfriend confusingly. They shrug in response. You can hear Chenle say "Hey man, you offered to drive. Not us."
You pause in between the end of the hallway and the entrance to the kitchen to watch the four boys start to quarrel.
"Jeno, you'll come with me, right?" Donghyuck asks and Jeno shoots him a look.
"Are you insane?" Jeno responds. "I don't wanna talk to him."
"You're not going to talk to him. Y/n is."
"Okay, then I don't want to see him."
"Fine." Donghyuck scoffs, before turning his head to look at Renjun and Chenle who were already saying no.
"What are you gonna do?" He asks them.
"We're gonna watch your house. Duh." Chenle responds.
"Actually. They're gonna watch your house." Renjun corrects, pointing at Jeno and Chenle. "I'm going to watch Chenle."
"Whaaat!! That's not fair!" He protests.
"I trust Jeno more than you." Renjun retorts back.
Donghyuck sighs in defeat. "Fine. Just don't do anything stupid." He says, turning to walk towards you and you can see the three boys cheer behind him. It causes you to giggle, and Donghyuck is just happy you're happy.
Once out of his house and into his car he asks you where you're going. You tell him not to worry and that you'll just give him the directions on how to get there. It only worries him more.
"I dunno y/n. It seems kinda sketch."
"Listen I know you don't trust the guy, but you trust me, right?" You ask.
"Yeah.."
"Then trust me, that it'll be okay."
"Okay." He sighs. "You lead the way."
Tumblr media
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay?" Donghyuck asks as you step out of the passenger seat to his car.
"Yeah. I'm sure." You sigh.
"Okay.. Just. Call me if you need me. I'll be nearby, okay?"
"I'll be fine, Hyuck. Don't worry."
"Whatever you say.." He mumbles before rolling up his window and driving away.
Walking to the only other human like figure around you, you start to wonder if Jisung is really worth your time. Sure you missed the time you spent together, all the hours in the library studying and having stupid debates over the simplest things like, the best ice cream flavor, or how to write the number eight. Yeah you missed it, but was it really worth going back to? You could do these with anyone, even the new friends you've made so far this year. But for some reason, it was different with Jisung.
Maybe it's because you did like him. Or maybe it's because he was really different from your other friends. Yes you love Hyuck, and Renjun, and Chenle to death but it was nice having someone else to talk to, someone who didn't know everything about you, someone you could make different memories with.
"You came.." He says. It's not loud, but it's not quiet either. It's enough to snap you out of your thoughts though.
"Yeah." You nod. "I wanna know.. the truth. And only the truth."
"Do you promise to believe me?" He asks.
You don't respond for a second, you just stare at him with a blank face. You can tell that his eyes are shaky and you can't tell if he's about to cry or not.
"I don't want to make a promise I can't keep."
Needless to say, you could practically feel Jisung's heart shatter.
"Okay." He nods. "Where do you want me to start?"
"I don't know? The beginning?"
"Oh.. Right." He mumbles. "Well um.. You- You see.. It started like- uhm- like."
"So are you gonna tell me or are you just going to keep stalling?"
"Uhh."
"I mean. I can wait, I do have all night for your information." You spit, crossing your arms. "Do you? Or do you have another date planned after this? Y'know, one where you lied to another other girl too?"
"I- What? I don't have another 'date' after this.." He defends. "I've.. I've been alone for the past month and a half.. What are you talking about?"
"So I've heard."
"Look." Jisung sighs, you notice that he looks tired. "I don't wanna fight. Can we just start over?"
"Okay Park Jisung, we can do whatever you want." You scoff. "Hi! I'm y/n l/n, I came to have a conversation. Are we going to have one, or not?"
"You want me to start at the beginning?" He yells. "Fine then! I'll start at the beginning. I'll tell you whatever the fuck you wanna hear!"
"It's true! In the beginning of the school year I was bored and was looking for someone to date. But then I met you! And you were different!"
"Oh yeah? Well I bet you tell that to every girl you meet!" You yell back at him.
Ignoring what you said, Jisung decides to continue. "For some reason something clicked with you. I don't know what it was and I don't remember when, but something just clicked. You really were different. I started enjoying your company a lot more and everything just felt right.. around you."
"This is bullshit." You mumble before turning to walk away. Part of you didn't want to leave because you knew what he was talking about, something clicking. The other part of you decided that this was probably all a lie. "If he's lied to me before he'll do it again." You think trying to convince yourself to leave.
"I'm sorry, Jisung." You sigh. "I really want to believe you, trust me, I do. But you've told me things before.. and you lied to me about them. So who's to say that you aren't lying to me right now?"
There's no response. He just looks at you and you can see the small bits of hope leave his eyes. "Okay." You sigh with a nod before turning to leave. You get pretty far away when you hear him yell your name in attempt to get you to stop walking away from him. "Before you go.. can I please just tell you something?"
You let out a tired sigh. "What is it?"
"You don't have to believe me." He starts. "But you remember that night we spent together? The one right here? In this exact spot?"
You nod. "You mean the night that you lied to me?"
Your words sting, but he decides to continue anyways, trying his best to not show how much that hurt him.
"I meant everything I said that night.. All those words I said were true y'know.." He whispers. "I miss you."
"I miss seeing how your eyes lit up.. And I miss seeing your smile.. I still see it every now and then, but it's not directed at me and it just hurts. I miss our silly disagreements and how we'd drag them on for what felt like ages. I miss driving you home because even though they were silent drives I felt safe and comfortable with you there. It didn't have to be loud like when I drove around with my other friends. I miss the little dates we went on, and ye-yes you'll never hear me say it again but they were all dates. I miss that day at the mall.. before everything went down. Do you remember?" He asks.
You nod again. This time it's smaller and more subtle.
"Y'know.. That's the day I started realizing I liked you." He admits.
Closing your eyes you whisper, "Stop talking."
But he doesn't listen. He just continues.
"You were playing some dumb game.. I don't remember if it was a claw machine or ski ball but it was something.. You were so focused. You even stuck your tongue out a little.. you got so into it."
"Stop talking." You say again, louder this time.
"You looked so pretty.." He sighs. "And you were so excited when we raised enough tickets to get a bag of candy for ourselves. They kicked us out because we sat on the air hockey table, remember? I don't know if they'll ever let us back in there, but it was fun while it lasted." He laughs.
"I said stop talking!" You practically yell, turning to face towards him.
"Why?" He asks, giving you a sad look.
"Because I don't want to remember that day." You sigh.
"Why?" He asks again.
"I don't wanna say why."
He takes a step closer to you. "You can tell me anything."
You sigh in defeat.
"Did you feel it too?" You ask him and he nods.
"So you know?"
"I do."
"Then why do I have to say it?" You ask.
"Because if you say it, then it's like you're accepting the truth."
"I don't like how you know what I feel." You mumble to yourself as he takes another step closer.
"What if I don't.. say it?" You ask.
"Then just give me a sign." He says.
"Do you miss me?" He asks. By this point the sun has gone done, and if weren't only you two here you probably wouldn't have heard him.
You nod. "I do."
"Are you mad at me?" He asks.
You nod again. "I am."
"That's okay." He says. "I understand."
This time, you take a step back.
"Do you wanna be mad at me?"
Instead of responding this time, you ask, "Why do you get to ask all of the questions?"
"I never said you couldn't ask any." He says while you shoot him a glare.
"Okay then." You start, deciding you were going to play this little game with him. Taking a step forward you ask, "Why did you choose me?"
He shrugs. "I dunno. You were new."
You scoff at his response. "Predictable."
Thinking of a better question to ask him, you say, "How can I believe you?"
"You can't." He responds. "You just have to trust me. Do you trust me?"
"I do."
He nods.
"Okay."
"Do you trust me?" You ask him, breaking the pattern you two have created.
"I do." He says, echoing your answer.
You nod.
"Okay."
"So.. What now?" He asks.
"What do you mean?"
"What do we do now?"
"Ah." You sigh. "That's what you meant."
"Well.. Yeah." He says. "I don't know if you know this but.. this is the closet we've been ever since.. what happened. Yet it's still the furthest we are from each other."
"Can you just shut up, for once?" You ask, voice playful in tone.
Jisung hears it and he gives you a small smile, liking the sudden change in atmosphere. "I dunno.. Will I?" He jokes.
"You're silly." You say, while a smile starts to form shortly after.
"..Can we start over?" He asks, and you can tell he's being serious.
He looks scared. Nothing like the same boy who you saw just a second ago, the one who was starting to be comfortable with you again.
"I'd understand if you didn't want to. Or if you don't want anything to do with me anymore after this. I just thought.. it'd be the right thing to ask."
"Do you promise not to break my heart?" You ask.
"Only if you promise not to break mine." He responds with a smile.
"No promises." You say, grabbing his hand and interlocking it with yours.
"Hey!" He exclaims. "You can't do that!"
"Yes I can. I just did."
"I'll take this as a yes then?" He asks, a giggle following afterwards.
"Yeah. You can take this as a yes."

Switch (Pt.2)
----------------------------------------------
Patton never really knew much about his past, well, the changeling part of it at least. In fact, he didnt even know that's what he was. He just knew that his ears were to big and his eyes were to bright and if he didnt stop smiling people would ask questions that he really didnt want to answer.
He knew who couldnt sing or dance outside of his treehouse, because when he did, people started acting very odd.
He knew that things were to loud for him, to loud, to bright, with to many other variables. He hated middle school for taking away recess, outside was the only place that didnt make him feel like a walking nightmare.
"Patton? Do you want to borrow my headphones?" Patton was snapped out of his reminiscing by a soft tap on his shoulder.
"But Logie dont you need those?" Patton replied.
"You cant wear your hoodie inside here, you need them more than me, I know how you get when your ears are visible," Logan said, taking the headphones off his own ears and handing them over. Patton stared for a few seconds before finally accepting the offer and situating them over his own ears.
"Thanks Logie," Patton said quietly, barely able to hear himself.
"Let's go get our schedules before homeroom starts yeah?" Logan said, ruffling Patton's hair.
"Oh yeah- I forgot about those," Patton said, giggling slightly. He stumbled slightly as someone else rushed past him, looking up to see who it was, he was met with something far different than expected.
"So sorry! I didnt see you-" said the boy. He had hair nearly as red as roses, which contrasted with his dark brown skin, which Patton noticed was marked with patches of lighter colors. His eyes were a dark green, almost like moss in a dense forest. Patton thought he looked like a dryad.
"Its alright- you didnt mean to-" Patton said, giggling slightly.
"Do you uh- have a name?" Said the boy, his face turned a noticeably darker shade.
"You can call me Patton," Patton replied, smiling.
"I'm Roman- my friends call me Ro-" Roman said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"And I'm Logan and we have a class to be in," Logan said, hurriedly grabbing Patton by the arm and rushing inside.
"Logie! I was talking!" Patton said, pouting slightly.
"I saw the face you were making, you just met him you disaster of a homosexual," Logan said.
"Well- you're a disaster to!" Patton said defensively.
"I dont fall in love nearly as easily as you Pat," Logan said, picking at a loose thread on his sweater.
"Let's just get our schedules," Patton said, not quite looking at his brother. Logan gave him a small smile before walking up to the row of papers lined on the wall that would give them their homerooms.
"We've got the same homeroom!" Patton said, excitedly pointing at a sheet of paper with the teacher name Mrs. Kitsune.
"That's good," Logan said with a grin. The pair of them walked to the class, Patton running his hands through the flowers in the school garden as they passed.
Mrs. Kitsune seemed a little above Patton's height, with thick silvery hair held back by a white headband and icy blue eyes. Patton thought she looked nice. But what really caught his attention was the back of the room, where Roman sat with a boy with messy black hair, which had a shockingly bright white streak down the center of it, and the beginnings of a mustache.
"Oh hey Patton! This is my brother Remus-" Roman said, gesturing to the boy sitting on the table.
"Oh this is the cute guy you were talking about? Ro if I didnt know any better I'd say you were purposely down playing him so I wouldnt take him for myself," Remus said, cackling. Patton's face flushed a deep shade of pink, which only served to enhance Remus' fit of laughter.
"Oh there you are Logie!" Patton said, grabbing Logan's arm and pulling him over to sit at the table in front of the twins.
"So what year are you guys in?" Roman asked.
"Both freshmen!" Patton said, leaning his head on his crossed arms.
"Remus and I are sophmores," Roman said, smiling.
"So you've already been here a year then? How good would you say their knowledge on neurodivergent kids is?" Logan said, Patton felt the excitement in his chest drop like a bolder.
"Its actually not to shabby! Teachers are required to take classes in conflict de-escalation and know the signs of stuff like panic attacks, dissociation, meltdowns, all that fun stuff," Remus said.
"And they're very attuned to physical disabilities, of course," Roman said, gesturing slightly to his leg, which Patton now realized was in fact, not made of skin.
"Wooooaaahhhh," Patton said quietly, looking over the sketches of what seemed to be sharpie along the prosthetic.
"Did all the artwork myself," Roman said, smiling. Remus elbowed him slightly.
"Ok, Remus did the roses," Roman said, laughing slightly.
"Yeah that's what I thought," Remus cackled.
"Its very pretty," Patton said, giggling. Logan rolled his eyes.
"Awe c'mon specs, hes just paying a compliment," Remus said.
"I'm aware," Logan said, unable to hide the slight grin on his face despite his exasperation.
They talked for a little while longer before their schedules were set on the tables.
"Hey wait a minute- how come you've only got electives?" Roman said, looking over Patton's schedule to see if they had any matching classes.
"Oh, I do all my core classes over summer," Patton said, looking away slightly.
"That's an option?" Remus said, looking bewildered.
"You have to talk to the counselor about it," Logan said.
"Oooohhhhhhh," Remus replied, looking at his hands.
"We dont really- like- talking to the counselors," Roman said.
"Me neither," Patton replied. They remained silent for a few more minutes before Logan let our a fairly loud sneeze, causing the other three to burst into laughter.
"Well it looks like you've got Astrology with Remus and Logan, gym with Remus and Theatre with me, so that should be fun," Roman said as they were about to leave.
"Yeah, I think it will," Patton said, now feeling much more confident about how his day was going to go.

wangxian loveless au where during that one drunken night wwx and lwj slept together and wwx didnt come out of the situation unscathed. he began having nauseous bouts and experiencing fatigue and after a couple months his stomach grew bigger. he's absolutely terrified bc not only are he and lan zhan just 16 and 17, he would absolutely bring shame to yunmeng jiang if people knew their lead disciple got pregnant out of wedlock like some common whore.
if there is anything more strange than ruckus in the cloud recesses, it is wei wuxian being silent and obedient. it has been a couple months since something just changed in wei wuxian like a switch being flipped and he just.. stopped being a troublemaker. he stopped talking back to the lan teachers, stopped sneaking out at night, stopped nipping at lan wangji's heels and giving jiang cheng headaches. instead he gives jc a different kind of headache with how skittish and mousy he acts. wwx still does well in his studies and sword practice, but he's a lot less reckless, a lot less free, a lot less wei wuxian, and jiang cheng can already feel his a-jie and father's disappointment weighing on his shoulders.
wwx uses talismans after talismans to conceal his growing bulge and with the thick winter robes, no one suspected a thing. he just has to be a lot more careful and avoid the healers at all costs, lest they find out about his secret. instead of going out and hunting pheasants, he spends his free time reading huaisang's romantic novels and keeps a sketch book filled with his everyday paintings. lan qiren is equal parts content, intrigued, and horrified. if his teachers couldn't manage to keep changse still, what had he done so terribly wrong to make the boy change so abruptly?
lan wangji got his peaceful silence back. wei wuxian had been mildly entertaining for a while, but now that he's gotten bored of getting rebuffed, he had stopped and lan wangji didn't miss it too much. lan xichen is a little disappointed that wei wuxian didnt manage to crack down wangji's walls, but it would be unfair to expect the boy to do so for him.
before they knew it, the snow is thick in the cloud recesses and the disciples were let to retire earlier in the evening. their study would soon end when the frost melts. wwx slipped out of his room when he felt the contractions coming. the moon hung high, its light illuminating the serene white and lan xichen went on his night patrol shift as usual. he was walking on one of the watch towers when his tranquil was broken by a muffled shriek of pain.
wei ying stumbled into an empty room, doubling in pain and hurriedly put on silencing talismans. the pain and pressure seemed to last forever and when its over, a shrill cry brought much anticipated relief.
wei wuxian picked the baby- his baby- off the floor, shielded only by his hastily discarded outer robe from the cold wooden floor. the baby is laid on his chest, blood and slime staining his white robes but wei wuxian doesn't see anything past the scrunched little face and he couldn't believe he had ever thought of getting rid of this being in his arms. he only got a short tender moment before the door slammed open and to his horror, zewu-jun staring at him with mirrored terror on his face.
lan xichen followed the sounds and found himself in front of an empty classroom. the door pulsed with spiritual energy and he could tell the silencing talisman put on was only half installed. he raised his hand to knock and- is that a baby's cry? his hand moved itself and slammed the door open. "wei gongzi?!" wei wuxian laid on the floor, the bottom of his robes open and in his hold is a tiny wailing baby still connected to him through the umbilical cord.
"ze-zewu-jun, i-" wei wuxian clutched the baby tighter to his chest, as if afraid lan xichen is going to take him away. "please let me help you," the older interrupted, shuffling in to begin helping wei wuxian. he took out spare cloths from his qiankun pouch and wrapped them around the boy and his baby. wei wuxian couldn't look at lan xichen. no wonder he has been laying low, if he's keeping such a secret.
poor boy, did someone force him? is that why he had to hide? "wei gongzi, are you-" his hand accidentally brushed over the meridian on the child's head and felt a familiar signature. the baby is a lan. wei wuxian's eyes goes wider if that was possible. lan xichen tugged slightly to reveal the baby's face. his tiny golden eyes are open and all xichen could see was wangji's childhood face. wangji's son, oh god wei wuxian gave birth to wangji's son.
but how did wangji ever- it can't be- wangji drunkenly bedded wei wuxian and now he has a son! lan xichen trembled and stood. "zewu-jun?" the first jade just ran, but not before slapping on a silencing and locking talisman on the room. "zewu-jun, i can explain!"
.
class was cancelled the next day. not with lan qiren so close to a qi deviation with the news from xichen that wangji has a son, just born last night and by a guest disciple, no less! he sent wei wuxian along with his baby into seclusion, telling jiang cheng that his shixiong sneaked out again and will be put into solitary for a few days. immediate invitation was sent to jiang fengmian and yu ziyuan, insisting that it is urgent that both of them come.
lan wangji stands in front of the room wei wuxian is detained in. he had been content with uncle and brother as family. it never crossed his mind that he would get married or have a child- much less with wei wuxian. but the boy is in this room right now, with a child that is his. his son. he should come in- should at least see the child. he should take responsibility, even if he didn't mean to. he shouldn't push his son onto someone else, he shouldn't-
"lan zhan? is that you?" wei wuxian's voice sounded nervous. he probably saw lan wangji's shadow in front of his door. "i- can i come in?" lan wangji replied hesitantly. "please do," he answered.
lan wangji opened the door and stood face to face with wei wuxian, whose usual mischievous expression is replaced entirely with one full of worry and guilt. "lan z-, lan wangji, i'm sorry," he started.
the second jade didn't know what to answer and they stood in silence. "i'm here to see the baby," he began, cursing himself for sounding colder than he intended. "of course.." wei wuxian led him inside, to his bed where the sleeping baby is swathed in thick white blankets provided by zewu-jun.
wangji does see himself in the baby, and for a split second he hated it more than anything. "what is his name?"
wei wuxian doesn't answer. "wei- wei ying?" he was instead staring at the baby. "oh- i'm sorry. what did you say?"
"his name?"
"baobao doesn't have a name yet. i don't know.."
-------
yu ziyuan's face is red with anger. behind her jiang fengmian is filled with worry. of course that no good son of a servant will churn yet another trouble that will bring smear to the yunmeng jiang name all because jiang fengmian has always been too useless and too soft to discipline him properly. lan qiren and lan xichen was already waiting for them.
"sect leader lan, zewu-jun," she greeted them.
"madam yu, sect leader jiang," lan xichen bowed back. "please come inside. we have.. important matter to discuss,"
she notices the silence talisman plastered wall to wall in the meeting room and she could only wonder what had happened for the lans to need such discretion. the tension between them was so thick it could be cut with a knife. "what has that brat done now? i swear if he continues to be unruly i will whip him with zidian until he repents," yu ziyuan started.
lan qiren chokes on his tea a little bit. "that would be unnecessary, madam yu," xichen winced, " i believe it would be highly inappropriate to subject him to corporal punishments considering his.. delicate condition right now,"
"delicate..? is a-xian sick? is that why you called us here? then- can we see him now?" of course jiang fengmian would worry about that useless boy first before he ever thinks about her son. "shut it, jiang fengmian!" yu ziyuan barked. "i bet you he just fell from the mountain and broke his bones while sneaking out to do god knows what! this is the boy you keep spoiling! that good for nothing son of a servant!"
lan qiren and lan xichen both shriveled in their seats at her tone. what happened to wei wuxian was much, much worse. "madam yu," lan xichen tried. "wei wuxian.. gave birth to a son two nights ago,"
yu ziyuan's face flashed an angry shade of red, then white, and then green before she shred the table in front of her into splinters. "he.. gave birth?"
lan xichen solemnly nodded.
the chuckle that left her mouth terrified everyone in that room. lan qiren tried his best to not vomit blood. "don't tell me, that boy now has a kid.. like some whore?"
lan qiren looked at jiang fengmian. the man's face was paper white and tongue-tied. he pitied him, having to bear the brunt of yu ziyuan's wrath on top having to process this information.
"does he even know who the father is? or did he sleep with everyone in gusu?"
"third madam!"
lan xichen looked like he is going to start crying, so lan qiren chimed in.
"the father is wangji,"
.
the negotiation was dreadful. jiang fengmian tried to get wei wuxian and his baby to go back to lotus pier. yu ziyuan refused to bring that disgrace back to lotus pier. lan qiren insisted that wei wuxian and lan wangji must marry, now that their child is the third heir to gusu lan. news will be let out that the lead disciple of yunmeng jiang and the second young master of lan had been engaged for a while and will soon marry. their altercations during the length of the study had just been because they had an ongoing squabble. the child will be announced one year after his actual birth.
lan wangji chose the name lan yuan for his son, which his uncle and brother approved. wei wuxian's heart fell that they never asked for his opinion on the name.
wei wuxian had to go back to yunmeng jiang when the disciples disperse after their year's study. he couldn't bring baobao to lotus pier without alerting everyone and wei wuxian never cried harder than when he had to part with his baby for the first time. even jiang cheng couldn't console him. he endured the torture for two months. two torturous months without his baby where madam yu only spoke in a cold tone and his shijie's soup no longer comforted him. the last two months yunmeng jiang would ever be his home.
the expensive red robes hang heavy on him. everyone congratulated him on his marriage but all wei wuxian felt is cold. he couldn't look at lan wangji without knowing that he forced the second jade to a marriage he didn't want. lan wangji couldn't look at wei wuxian without wondering what if it had been someone else, someone he had consented to marry. they live in the jingshi, but sleep in different bedrooms. their interactions are polite at best. wei wuxian spends his time cultivating and inventing talismans while raising his son, and lan wangji spends his time cultivating and attending to sect duties.
lan yuan grows to be a smart and strong disciple who excels among his peers. no wonder, people say, his parents are two of the most powerful cultivators of their generation. lan xichen replies to comments of 'lan yuan looks so grown up already' with 'my nephew is tall for his age'. he will no doubt become a fine sect leader one day, people say.
lan wangji and wei wuxian are married, everyone knows that, but they never act like they are. they act like parents to their son, but never like spouses to each other. gusu lan's no gossipping rule never stopped people from talking. lan yuan knows that he is older than his classmates. lan yuan knows why he barely ever see his parents together. he knows they love him, of course, but they don't love each other.
poor lan yuan, people say, trapped in his parents' loveless marriage.
lan yuan knows that he is trapped between a father whose anger kept simmering at having to marry someone he didn't want and a mother who felt like his marriage was a mistake.

It Surfaces on the First Freeze of Winter (Pt 2)
"Stop here!" Roman broke the silence. Logan tightened his grip on the wheel. "What do you mean 'stop here'?! we're on the highway!" "This exit! Right here!" Logan yanked the wheel to the right, just barely making it onto the ramp. He caught his breath as he slowed down. "A little warning next time?!" "Sorry, theres not really a good way to set your destination as the middle of a forest..." Logan sighed. "Where do I go now?" "Right in a mile or so." Logan turned off the road into a gravel parking lot, stones crackling under tires as he swung into a space in the otherwise empty lot. He parked and pulled out the key. The moment the rumble of the car died down, Logan was practically assaulted with silence. All the bugs were dead from the chill of the unusual Florida fall, and the loud diurnal creatures were finished with their daily activities, some having retired to hibernation, whether it was common for their species or not. It was, Logan had to admit, quite a fascinating coincidence that Roman's book had predicted such a rare occurrence. The coldness of the air through Roman's open window froze Logan's sinuses and a shiver rippled down his spine. The uncommon dryness produced stillness, where noise fell flat, as if having frozen and fallen to the earth in a puff of frost. The only audible sounds were the occasional crackle of wood freezing and thawing, swaying on the precipice of 32 degrees, and the distant rumble of the highway. As mystifying as it was, Logan was not looking forward to sloshing through newly crisped ice water. His galoshes nearly reached his knees and he had snow pants underneath, but it didnt help his imagining water breaching the lip and soaking into his winter socks and outerwear. Before Logan could even unbuckle, Roman was out of the car and holding the driver's side door open with a flourish. "Out out out, adventure awaits!" He practically tore Logan from his seat and out into the frigid, below-freezing air. Logan coughed as his own breath pierced his throat. "Come on, we've got six hours!" "MAXIMUM." Logan already regretted giving Roman such a wide timeframe. He'd grossly underestimated the potential misery of this excursion, and his Florida-resident intolerance to cold. "Whatever, grab the flashlights!" Logan complied with uncharacteristically dramatized effort. Roman rolled his eyes. "You already agreed to this come on." Logan locked the car and followed Roman into the dark, dank, silent forest. The first hour passed in a relatively focused fashion; Roman was intently searching every inch of bog in the general area, whipping his head around at every sound he heard, and Logan followed a few yards away, glancing around as if he were trying to help. At least the high specific heat of the water meant that it still hadn't cooled far past the relative warmth of the afternoon. His fears of frostbite were quelled, though it still wasn't pleasant. He moved slowly, though while Roman's pace was slowed by his careful observation, Logan was more focused on finding solid swamp floor that set the water level below the lip of his galoshes. By the way Roman was powering through, his socks must have already been soaked. "Lo! Have you been following me this whole time?!" Roman seemed to extend his attention past his bubble of focus long enough to notice Logan. "We have to split up! That was the whole point of getting your help, to cover more ground!" Roman shoved Logan in annoyance, causing him to throw out his arms to steady himself before he could be entirely drenched. "Well I didnt want to leave you to your own devices. I assumed I was here for the buddy system, lending assistance if something were to grab you and such." "So you DO think it's out here!" "I was more referring to alligators and/or snakes considering we're wading through the dangerous Florida swampland at night with no emergency services immediately present." Roman rolled his eyes, difficult to see in the nearly depleted sunlight. "Just go look somewhere else, we're in silence, I'll yell if I need help." Logan hesitantly complied. The thought of Roman being in danger and having to run through knee deep water to assist... it was not a pleasant fantasy. He sloshed his way through the algae, the thin, barely visible layer of ice on the water's surface shattering as he dragged his shins through. He looked back to find he was far enough away that he could no longer see Roman through the trees and darkness. He stilled and listened: He could hear the faint splash of Roman's galoshes in the distance, getting further and further away. He suddenly felt intensely concerned, but continued on nonetheless. The swamp seemed much more sinister without Roman nearby. Maybe it was just the presence of another person that greatly eased the feelings of unsafely, or maybe it was something about Roman's unwavering confidence and bravery in particular. Or maybe something about the environment really did change. Unlikely, Logan reigned himself in, it made much more logical sense that the feeling was related to human psychology considering human evolution's focus on social dependence. Though Logan was too preoccupied in the moment to marvel at the complex social creature he was. He was just plain uneasy, and the feeling continued to grow. He looked back. He could no longer hear Roman's movements. His heart pounded. He decided that despite the fact that he was logically safe, it would be best to turn around and catch up to Roman to slow his rushing adrenaline. He turned back the direction he'd come and began making his very arduous way back. But something struck him. If he went back, Roman would undoubtedly make fun of him for his cowardice, he would never let Logan live down that he truly believed in the beast of the Florida swampland, however false that notion was. So he paused, and the splashes and ripples of his marching stilled. And just in that moment, there was a splash. A loud one, not produced by any movement of Logans making, but unmistakably produced by something large. Logan's heart skipped a beat and he froze. He was thankfully able to swallow a scream before it escaped his throat. Explanations coursed through his mind, maybe a falling branch, maybe an animal of some kind, hopefully not an alligator... he slowly turned around. He was met with innocent ripples, as if whatever it was had come and gone. Yet it was notable that the force was enough to generate small waves, which crested slightly and lapped at the trees nearby. Logan kept his eyes on the origin of the disturbance as he slowly started inching backward, toe to heel, carefully assuring solid ground before shifting his weight. Then something wrapped around his right calf. Even through his boot he could tell that it wasn't a vine, or any form of flora. There was pressure, concious force to it, tightening. Logan barely had the time to process what was happening before it had crested the lip of his galoshes, and something soft and wet had coiled snugly around the back of his knee, immediately soaking through his snowpants and dripping down into his socks. He barely managed a scream before his reflexive pull at the restraint caused the ground under his left foot to give way, sending him plunging into the near-frozen swamp water. The temerature shift stunned his senses, and it was a couple seconds before he started thrashing. Despite logically knowing the water was only a few feet deep, he coudn't find the bottom or surface no matter where he reached, he couldn't judge direction nor distance, all he could sense was the warmth rapidly leaving his body and the breath bursting from his throat in clusters of bubbles despite himself. He could feel the thing wrapping tighter around his leg, coiling higher. Then another on his arm, oozing down and lacing itself around his wrist and through his fingers. Logan thrashed more violently as he realized the thing had suction cups. his mind raced to recall any sort of cephalopod this big that lived in the Florida swampland, something that would be awake and alive in such cold, but it was an utterly ridiculous notion. He thought back to Roman's illustration of the swamp beast, but that was even more inconceivable. With logic failing him, he continued to pull at his restraints. He could feel himself losing consciousness, his movements weakening. Suddenly, he heard a shout muffled from above, somehow audible through the frantic splashing. Within seconds, the creature was gone. Logan's limbs were free and he felt the jet of some sort of siphon whip his hair across his face as the beast retreated. Logan reoriented himself, and his feet found mud. He pushed up, breaching the surface of the water. He gasped in lungfulls of cold, burning winter air, rivulets of ice water pouring down his skin. "LOGAN!" Logan flopped his soaked hair away from his eyes in time to see Roman vainly attempting to run full speed through knee-deep water. He seemed to have just managed to get Logan in his line of sight, and seemed quite worried. "Roman! You won't bel-" Logan stopped himself. Whatever he'd just encountered, it was unknown, unheard of. He thought back to Roman's book, the beautiful sketches with no scientific substance. He thought of Roman's favorite stories, valient quests to slay the beast. If Logan told him what had happened, he wouldn't go into it with an eye for intricacies. He'd make the find into a spectacle, a fantasy adventure. If Logan DIDN'T tell him, he could come back, study the beast, find out what happened in a scientific sense. He could of course tell Roman once he had a better grasp on the situation, and it would be the safer option anyway. At least that's what he told himself. He swallowed his guilty conscience and chuckled sheepishly through his chattering teeth. "I wouldn't have expected that I would be the first to lose my footing..." Roman wasn't laughing. "Are you okay?! Cmon, let's get you to the car!" Logan nearly protested, but his adrenaline-warmed body was beginning to cool, and he started to feel the weight of his soggy coat. "Here." Without a second thought, Roman pulled off his own coat and helped Logan out of his. Logan pulled on the dry coat. Although his shirt underneath was still soaked, it felt much better. "You're sure you aren't too cold with no coat?" "Oh I'm freezing. But you're at a far greater risk of getting hypothermia. I wouldn't be suprised if your core temperature dropped a few degrees." Roman gestured to Logan's dripping hair plastered across his forehead. Logan blinked, suprised. "That's... right." "Cmon, give me some credit, I pick up a few things hanging around a nerd like you all the time. Now cmon." Logan yelped as Roman lifted Logan out of the water. He reflexively wrapped his arms around Roman's neck. "This is a highly inefficient method of carrying a person of my body weight!" Roman shook his head. "This is how the princes do it Lo. I gotta." Logan warmed slightly as he blushed, providing a drop in his risk of hypothermia. Roman was quite helpful. As they began to move toward the car, though, Logan couldn't help but look over Roman's shoulder, back at the water still churned up and muddy. He noticed a glow under the water from the flashlight he'd dropped when he fell. He didn't think it worth it to tell Roman, it was a cheap one anyway. He looked up from the glow. Across the water, a few yards past, He made out a strange glint. Two iridescent dots, seeming to float ominously on the water's surface. Then they were gone. The glow of the flashlight began to dim, before finally succumbing to the water.

ask your destiny to dance [15] {Roger Taylor}
A/N: Medium smut.
[masterpost]
The day Ash hears Doing Alright on the radio at her favourite cafe, she screams. This, of course, upsets the other patrons considerably, but before anyone can complain, she’s shoving her fabric samples and sketchbook into her bag, sculling her lukewarm hot chocolate, and is bolting down the street. Until, of course, she’s winded enough to slow down, and decides it’s easier to catch a bus to Brian and Roger’s apartment.
She’s been there before, it’s where they insisted on having their first fitting, since it was the apartment with the most room, and sometimes on afternoons she hangs out there with the band and Mary, sure, it’s not like she’s a complete stranger to the flat. Knocking on the door, she’s breathing heavily, still excited, and she’s not sure why she’s come here, rather than to see Freddie, but as soon as the door opens, she knows why.
“I heard you guys on the radio!” Barging past a confused Roger into the living room, she turns on her heel, still a little out of breath from having run from the closest bus stop, and her smile is blinding.
“Really? Which station?” And instead of asking her about her state, or the book bag on her hip, he’s elated, making his way to the radio in their little shoe box kitchen. Ash laughs, joining him, sheepishly admitting that it was about twenty minutes ago, but he’s undeterred. “Grab the phone; we can call them up and ask to hear it again.”
The station’s blaring some Beatles song by the time they get to it, but Ash is sitting on the counter, waiting patiently for the song to end so that the radio host could announce which number to call for requests. Roger’s buzzing about the kitchen, talking how apparently Mary’s heard them played at Biba too, and his mouth is moving a mile a minute, but then the number is said and Ash is dialing as fast as her fingers will allow. With her legs hanging off the edge of the counter, Roger taps at her knees, lips pressed together where he’s trying to keep his excitement quiet.
When the host picks up, and Ash says her name tentatively, only to hear it come out of the radio a few seconds later, Roger whispers ‘holy shit’ and Ash has to fight to not say the same. Clearly and carefully she requests Keep Yourself Alive, and specifies who it’s by and what record it’s on, and minutes later, the opening notes of the song waiver from the radio, and Ash hangs up, wide-eyed. Jumping from the counter, Ash dumps her bag beside their sofa, absolutely butchering the vocals where she struts around the room, pretending to be Freddie, loud and unselfconscious in her excitement. Roger’s matching her energy, throwing himself onto one of the metal folding chairs they had as dining room chairs, air drumming and providing harmonies that would have worked if Ash wasn’t almost completely tone deaf.
As the song moves to an instrumental section, Ash changes to enthusiastically air guitarist, jumping up onto the sofa, expression almost comically intense.
“Well, I loved a million women in a belladonic haze,” while Roger suspected the notes were entirely in her vocal range, she didn’t seem to be able to hit one, and after a moment, he’d dissolved into laughter, and wrapped his arms around her waist where she was posing with a foot up on the arm of the sofa, spinning her around before putting her back on the ground, and the drums kicked in on the radio, and she looks so fucking proud.
“That doesn’t sound half bad.” She says, grinning up at him, and he’s still got his arms around her.
“Unfortunately I can’t say the same about your singing, love.” He snickered, and Ash felt herself blush as she swatted at him, too excited to be properly annoyed, also too self aware to call him a liar.
“So you don’t think I could take Freddie’s place yet?” She asks, and Roger actually laughs at that, and Ash thinks she can feel his heart beating fast. “Where’s Brian?” She asks, voice dropping to a murmur, her own blood rushing as the song continues on.
“Still at class.” And there’s the hint of a question in his voice, and Ash’s smile stretches into a mischievous grin, something almost fond in her eyes.
“You guys are on the radio.” She murmured, pride in her voice, though her eyes are growing dark as her gaze drops to his lips. “Rog?” And he makes a hum of acknowledgement, biting his lip to stop himself from laughing or kissing her before she can finish her thought. “Does that make me a groupie?”
“Well groupies are usually throwing themselves at me.” He said with a cocky smirk, sitting them both on the sofa, sinking into the worn, brown fabric as Ash straddled him.
“I practically bolted to your house.” Ash had to stop herself from rolling her eyes, sitting back on his thighs. One of her hands was on his shoulder, the other playing with the hair at the nape of his neck, and Roger leaned into her touch, just a little.
“I’m not usually accosted by girls who wear the same clothes as my dad in summer.” Roger snickers, eyes drifting down to Ash’s choice of attire. She’s quiet for a long moment, and realises that he’s probably never seen her dress so casually; she’d just intended to get some sketches done at the cafe, she’d never intended people she knew to see her, and so her choice of oversized, pale blue button-down with rolled up sleeves and paint smudges all over it, tucked into navy cargo shorts, had been a perfectly acceptable outfit at the time. She’s even got her hair pulled back into a messy ponytail, and suddenly she feels like a mess, but the way Roger’s smiling at her, she can’t bring herself to care.
“I’m an artist, I’m allowed to dress tragically sometimes.” She shrugs, and Roger’s grip on her hips tightens as he laughs. It’s strange, mid afternoon and she’s in his house, in his lap, it feels like a whole new world. Their debatable hidden affair was usually confined to the wee hours of the morning, or the late morning depending on when they wake up, but now his hair catches the sunlight pouring in through the window, and he’s casual too. He’s wearing a pair of hideous, little red shorts that she’d seen him play in once, and a t-shirt with a faded design on the front, and for a moment she frowns, because god, does he have no sense of style? As soon as he asks about it, and she voices her thoughts, he gives her a shove, calls her a hypocrite. Leaning in low, she murmurs for him to just take the shirt off, but he doesn’t move.
“You first.” He’s got an eyebrow raised as a challenge, and Ash hums thoughtfully, before her fingers are unbuttoning her shirt, and untucking it. She’s wearing a bra that’s comfortable rather than aesthetically pleasing, and for all that he’s seen her naked, he thinks this might be the most honest he’s actually seen her.
He’s the one to suggest they move, not that it didn’t hurt a little, with Ash wearing only her oversized shirt unbuttoned, and her panties, splayed out against his ratty brown sofa, looking up at him with wide eyes that had been darkened with lust.
She’s never been in his room before, and she’s not quite sure what she expected. It’s bigger than her room, but not by too much, clothes strewn over the floor, and the end of the bed, which is also bigger than hers, a double, instead of her little single, a cheap looking bed frame and a small but solid desk shoved into the corner and stacked high with books, which intrigues her. Roger closes the door as she makes her way over, fascinated as she reads the spines of what turns out to be worn textbooks.
“You there for some light reading?” Roger wraps his arms around her from behind, pressing a kiss to her neck, his chest firm against her back. There’s notebooks that look well used, and a piece of paper with a whole list of numbers, letters, and symbols that Ash can’t decipher for the life of her, amid pencils and a pretty grubby looking eraser.
“You like, actually study, don’t you?” And when she turns, there’s almost something adoring in her eyes, endeared, and Roger raises his eyebrows at her unanticipated reaction.
“Always the tone of surprise.” He huffed out a laugh, his hands drifting lower to squeeze her bum, and when he leans in to kiss her, it’s sun-warmed and familiar, fitting together easily as he pressed her against the desk and she hopped to sit on it easily, legs parting to pull him closer as he kissed his way down her neck. He fucks her against the desk, even though she’s pretty sure she’s sitting on a notebook and also a pencil, but she can’t bring herself to care.
When they move to the bed, he snickers at the smudge of graphite on her ass, but she’s hit with a realisation she can’t help but voice.
“I never thought I’d be here.” And she’s a little breathy, gasping for a moment as he brings one of her legs up to her chest and eases back into her.
“Really?” His voice rises in disbelief, pausing in his movements as if to emphasise his point, and Ash rolls her hips once, biting her lip to stifle a chuckle.
“I mean, in the beginning, no way; I honestly never thought we’d last this long.” She says, and Roger’s quiet. Not needing an answer, she lets herself enjoy the moment, relaxing against the bedspread, whimpers and gasps escaping her as her eyes fall closed. She’s so fucking beautiful, Roger thinks, and even if he doesn’t say it, he’s so glad they lasted, after everything, if only for this moment.
And then they’re moving, Ash pressing at his shoulder, urging them to move, Roger laying back against the bed as Ash rode him, throwing her head back, with her nails digging into his chest. It’s enough to make him hiss, his hips rolling to meet hers, and when she looks down at him with a heady smile, she leans down and presses a kiss to the half-moon marks her nails had left, before she’s peppering kisses along his chest and throat.
When Brian walks in the front door and sees them both eating pizza and reading trivia to one another from the paper, he has to take a moment. Ash is wearing one of Roger’s shirts. Roger isn’t wearing a shirt at all.
“I know you two are sleeping together.” He announces from the doorway.
“Interesting accusation.” Ash responds without looking away from the paper. Roger makes a hum of agreement.
“You’re wearing his clothes.” Brian says, walking over and picking up a slice of pizza for himself.
“That is my shirt.” Roger agrees, finally looking up to Brian, and Ash takes a big bite.
“Listen, Brian, sometimes friends sleep together, it’s not the end of the world.” Ash said around her mouthful of pizza, which was lost on him, and Roger had to translate for her, much to Brian’s bewilderment.
“So you’re finally admitting it?” He asks, and Ash hums, swallowing before looking up at him.
“Admitting that I came over here excited about hearing your song on the radio, and then, I suppose, one thing led to another? Yes.” Ash agreed, and Brian looked like he was quickly forming a headache.
“Neither of you are as subtle as you think you are; I know this isn’t the first time.” He sighed, and Ash turned to Roger, who raised his eyebrows, feigning mock surprise. He’s about to say something, but it’s as if Brian can already tell it’s going to be irritating and dismissive. “Listen, Ash, you’re an adult, and you’re also our stylist, I just hope you know what you’re doing.”
“Believe me, she does.” Roger says, reaching for some more pizza, ending his statement with a very pointed cough. Ash, looking supremely pleased with herself, watches Brian turn bright red and head for his own room, not slamming the door, but coming close.
“Freddie and John will know by the end of tomorrow I suspect.” Ash muses, and Roger looks at her, a little curious.
“Is that okay?” And he actually seemed like he would offer to do something if it wasn’t. Ash gives him a small smile.
“They were going to find out eventually.” She paused, but only for a moment. “We should probably keep it simple and say it started after you broke up with Kristin.”
“That wasn’t that long ago.” He said softly. Ash shrugs.
“It was like a month and a half ago; it’s believable.” She offered, and Roger hums thoughtfully, sliding across the sofa to rest his head in her lap. She’s tempted to rest her slice of pizza on his face, but ultimately decides against it. The way he’s smiling at her, grin just a little sharp, she’s pretty sure he watched the idea pass through her mind too.
“Do you know what time the next bus comes, I should probably get going before it gets dark and people are more likely to stab me.” She asks carefully, and Roger’s expression turns thoughtful as he watches her eat, quietly waiting for a response.
“Seems a bit extreme; you know you could just stay.” It’s so casual the way he says it, and Ash shrugs, accepting the offer without much thought. His bed is far more comfortable than hers, though he’s not living in uni housing, so you’d hope it was, and it’s big enough to spread out in. But they don’t. When they’re not fooling around, they’re chatting about everything and nothing, as they were sometimes want to do, and Ash gets around to asking him about his degree just as she’s about to fall asleep. They’re holding hands, which again, not necessarily something Ash had expected when they’d first started out, but she’s on her side with her free hand beneath her pillow. She’s just wearing one of his shirts and her underwear, and she brings their hands up to rest between their heads on the mattress, arm now at a more comfortable angle, and she drifts off as Roger gets in to complaining about one of his classes.
By the time he realises she’s not paying attention, she’s already mostly asleep. There’s something about the way she sleeps that makes her seem almost innocent, perhaps it’s that she’s not trying to put up a front, and her mass of ginger hair halos her, so soft it almost hurts. Roger’s never conciously thought of a woman as ‘sweet’ before, but it’s the only word that fits in this moment. He presses a fond kiss to her knuckles of her joined hand. Ash stirs just a little, making a hum of acknowledgement that Roger knew all too well as ‘completely passed out, just felt a sensation, can maybe spout a few random words’.
Except it’s not just some random gibberish. It’s two words spoken through a yawn:
“Love you.”

You & Me - Part Five
Tumblr media
3450 words
Callie's POV
Your alarm rang early at 7am, you turned it off and pulled yourself out of bed before making your way to the bathroom to wash and change. You'd decided to take advantage of the gym in your hotel, before grabbing some breakfast and heading to the studio where Niall was due to perform later. He had an interview and performance with Eoghan McDermott which you had to deal with.
The mini bus was due at 9am for you, Martin and the rest of the team.
You ignored the notification for ten missed calls and countless text messages. Choosing to kick the shit out of a punch bag. You were angry with yourself for thinking that you could be anything with Niall.
Seeing Saskia with her arms around Nialls neck and his hands on her, had left you shaking. Not wanting to be seen by him, you had made a quick exit, grabbing a taxi back to the hotel.
You barely paused for breath as you kicked your right leg up high, again and again. Beads of sweat had begun to appear on your forehead and down your neck, your body heating up. After a few more punches you stopped. Catching your breath and taking in the almost empty gym.
You unwrapped the gloves from your hands and wiped your face down with the gym towel. Kicking the crap out of the punching bag always made you feel better. You left the gym feeling a little less stressed about it all.
After you'd showered and packed your small suitcase, you headed down to breakfast. The restaurant was full of crew and some of the band, you greeted them with wide smiles and hellos, before placing your bag down by Martin and heading over to the buffet.
You hadn't realised Niall had arrived until he approached you as you were placing some bread in the toaster.
"Hey, where were you last night?" He whispered.
"Was tired." You replied not bothering to look at him.
"Is everything ok? I tried to call you and I sent a bunch of messages."
"Everything's fine." You replied keeping your voice neutral.
There was a few seconds of silence before you heard Saskia approach you both.
"Ni, it's far too early to come down for breakfast. We should've had breakfast in your room, in bed." She smiled smugly, looking directly at you.
You reached Niall eyes and they were wide with realisation.
"Breakfast?" You queried.
"Yes, we had a late night."
You could've punched that fucking smirk right off her face, but you didnt. You took your toast from the machine and then smiled sweetly before replying.
"Oh I'm sure you did, but what I meant was, I didn't realise you ate like actual proper food. Don't you stick thin models survive on diet coke and thin air?!"
Niall stayed quiet, but his face showed he was shocked by you're outburst.
"Jealous are we?! Bet you'd never be able to get a body like mine?!"
"Not really, I prefer to not look anorexic. And I do love toast!"
And with that you wafted the plate with your toast on in front of her shocked face and walked off. You could hear her having a go at Niall about what you'd said, but to be honest you didn't give a shit. Serves him right.
Niall didn't try approach you again, instead he took Saskia by the arm and practically dragged her out of the restaurant. Taking your seat at the table, you slathered your toast in butter and jam before enjoying every moment of your morning carbs.
No one mentioned your altercation with Niall and Saskia. When you got to the venue you got to work on the set up. Niall was busy doing interviews but you'd seen him trying to make eye contact with you as he walked past you on his way to one of them.
When it came to sound check you made sure that he had no opportunity to talk to you alone. He had messaged you numerous times again but you'd ignored him, not even bothering to read them.
If you were honest, as the day went on you weren't 100% sure anything had happened between them or not. You knew Saskia didn't like you and would do anything to annoy you. However you were still hurt when you saw them together last night. Why hadn't he told you she was coming?
Over the course of the day you went from thinking they'd had raging sex all night to thinking that Saskia was boasting about nothing.
Still, you weren't ready to hear Niall's explanations or excuses.
When the performance was over, Niall went off for another interview and you packed everything up ready for it to head to London. You didn't see him again as he had back to back interviews and you and the crew headed to the airport.
The flight to Stansted was short and within a few hours you were home. Seeing a note from Bex on the kitchen table about how she was working late but would be back by 9:30pm. You unpacked your suitcase, throwing some washing in the machine and running yourself a bubble bath.
Almost 45 minutes had gone by and with your body truly wrinkly from the water, you decided to get out. Wrapping your towel around you, you paused at the sound of someone knocking at your door. You didn't like opening the door this late, even though it was still light out. You weren't expecting anyone so you quietly made your way over to the door and sneaked a look through the peep hole.
It was Niall.
He knocked again and you jumped back at the noise, hoping he didn't hear you gasp with shock.
"Callie, I know you're in there. I saw your balcony door open."
Crap.
Slowly moving away from the door you retreated to the safety of your room. You could hear him asking you to open the door so he could explain everything. You ignored him as you dried yourself off, throwing on some cotton shorts and a top. Taking a seat on the edge of your bed, your mind was running a million miles an hour. Should you let him in? Did you want to hear all the sordid details of last night? Did he deserve the chance to give you an explanation?
Your phone began to ring from your night stand. Nialls name flashing across the screen.
The call ended and you heard him knock again.
"Please Cal, I'm going out of my mind here."
You scoffed at hearing those words. If only he knew how you had been going out of your mind playing over all the scenarios of him and her.
"I'll wait all night if I have to."
You didn't believe him.
Being this pathetic about a guy wasn't something you were use to. You refused to cry about it, however you could feel the tears lingering behind your eyes that you were holding back.
Even though it was a warm evening you climbed under the covers and snuggled up in your safe place. Putting your headphones on and taking your sketch book out, propping it up on your knees.
You didn't know how long you'd been sketching until you saw Bex out of the corner of your eye. Smiling a hello and taking off your headphones you asked her what she had said.
"I said Niall's here."
Your heart sank. She had let him in. He hadn't gone away like you'd thought he would.
You could see the confusion on her face as in to why he was here. And that only got worse when you whispered to her that you didn't want to see him. She looked shocked, you hadn't told her about him yet. She still thought you were just friends and work colleagues.
You shook your head at her expression and held up your hand mouthing the words no.
She knew then that something had happened. You'd been friends long enough to be able to read each other. Her mouth made an oh shape before closing your door and retreating to the living room where you presumed Niall was.
You heard her say that you were sleeping and him saying that was bullshit.
"Please Bex? I really need to see her."
If he did those puppy dog eyes at her she would cave and you knew it. Taking off your head phones completely you laid on your side with your back to the door.
When you heard it open, you just knew it wasn't Bex. God she was such a pushover.
"Cal, please talk to me and let me explain." He pleaded, as he closed the door behind him.
You felt the bed dip as he sat down behind you.
"I didn't know she was going to be there....... She just appeared at the after party........ Nothing happened between us and I don't want it to. I want you Cal ........ I need you. What she said to you this morning about having breakfast in bed, that was just to piss you off. She didn't stay in my room with me."
You stayed silent, listening to his words. Trying to process what he was saying.
"Callie, please." He pleaded. "I don't want to lose you."
You felt him shift and climb under the covers, his chest was flush with your back, his arm crept over your hip and rested on your stomach. Burying his face in your neck, you heard him breathe you in. You didn't respond or acknowledge him at first, a few minutes went by and he remained cuddled up to you, gently kissing your hair, neck and shoulders.
"Callie, please." His voice was getting more pained.
"I saw her all over you at the party." You whispered. "Saw her arms around your neck, so I left."
He let out a massive sigh, almost that he was relieved that you'd finally decided to talk to him.
"If you'd stayed you would've seen me trying to pry her off of me."
You sighed and he pulled you closer to him. You could smell his aftershave, feel his breath on your neck as he snuggled into you.
"She did it deliberately, she posted sneaky hints about where she was. It's all over twitter, tumblr and Instagram. But nothing happened I promise, I'm so sorry that you think it did. Apart from when she turned up at rehearsal that time, I've not seen or spoken to her since I ended things in June. She's text me but I've ignored her."
You really didn't want to forgive him that easily, but if what he was saying was the truth then you needed to. Knowing what a nasty person Saskia was, what he was saying sounded like the truth. But deep down you were hurt by what you'd seen. This was new to you, stuff like this would be never have effected you so much. If this had been Jack, you would've argued with him, had it out with him and somehow resolved it. But your feelings for Niall ran deeper than they had for anyone else before. And right now the fear of that was stopping you from thinking rationally.
"I'm not sure what to think, I need to sleep."
"We can talk when you're ready. Can I stay with you while you fall asleep?" He whispered.
He was still holding you close, his lips close to your ear. Moving your hand down to your stomach to find his, you linked your fingers together, holding his hand close to your chest. You felt him relax and and try and get closer, but he was already holding you as close as he could.
"Don't want anyone else Callie, just want it to be You & Me."
When your alarm woke you the next morning, you realised you were not alone. You had turned around in the night but Niall's grip on you hadn't faltered. Your legs were entangled together and his hand was resting on your bare hip where your top had ridden up.
You slowly reached behind you to turn off your alarm, you knew he would probably wake up and you weren't sure what to say to him. With the alarm turned off, you began to try and gently ease yourself out of his grip. But he pulled you closer, once again burying his face in your neck and hair.
"Not ready to move yet Cal." He mumbled against your neck. "Just five more minutes, maybe ten."
He let out a contented moan.
There were a lot of things to talk about still, but right now lying here with him was the only thing you wanted to do. He was warm and cuddly and you couldn't get enough of him. His lips were placing gentle kiss along your neck and jaw and you let out a long and happy sigh. Reaching your hands up from his waist you ran your fingers through his unruly bed hair.
"Ni........ I have to get up." You whined rather unconvincingly.
"Just a few more minutes, Petal."
"I haven't forgiven you." You said bluntly.
"I know."
His hands had moved around your back and his finger lingered at the top of your shorts, but he didn't move his hand any further.
"Why did you stay?" You whispered, as his mouth still left kisses along your neck.
"Couldn't bare to leave you. You're so cute when you sleep, you snore to."
"I do not snore!"
He paused his kisses and brought his face up to yours.
"Yeah you do! Kind of a low rumble noise."
Your mouth was wide open in shock and massive smile on your face.
"Don't be embarrassed babe, as I said, it's cute."
"It's not cute, because it's not true."
"Whatever you say." He smiled.
He really was adorable in the mornings. His thick wavy hair was a mess, his hooded sleepy eyes barely open. His plump pink lips ............
Before you knew what you were doing, you were tracing your finger across them. He brought them into a pout and kissed your finger.
The smiles were gone from your faces, instead you were both just staring at each other, the connection you had overwhelmed you. Before you could stop yourself, you pressed your lips to his. His body instantly reacted, his hand on your lower back moved you closer to him, before moving it down to hitch your leg across his hip.
Your hands were on his face, in his hair, the desperate need to feel him, taste him. The kiss was intense and you could feel yourself getting dizzy, your senses coming alive. When you paused for breath he looked at you, his eyes searching yours for regret.
"I'm so sorry I hurt you, it's only you..... I promise. I've been going crazy without you. It's always been you, always."
And he kissed you again, this time rolling you onto your back, settling himself between your legs. He was hard beneath his shorts, you moaned when he made contact with your centre. You were both becoming frantic, kissing everywhere you could, feeling what skin was exposed. The heat of the quilt that was over you both was stifling, and you moved it down his back as much you could, feeling the slight breeze from your open window.
"Ni?" You moaned as he kissed across your neck and down your chest. "Ni?"
He stopped his kisses and looked up at you.
"Sorry.......I um........sorry." He mumbled nervously as he moved from between your legs and laid next to you.
"I don't want to you to stop, but I have to leave for work in just over an hour. Bex has the car so I have to navigate the tube this morning across the city."
"So, if I were to drive you then we could probably have an extra half hour?!" He replied, smiling.
"Ni." You said laughing and giving his shoulder a gentle shove.
"What? I'm just saying I have my car so can give you a lift and y'know we both need showers."
You looked at him, a cheeky smirk across his face.
"As amazing as that sounds, I doubt Bex would appreciate us hogging the bathroom together! Plus I can't be seen arriving with you."
"Yeah....ok." He sighed sticking his lips out in a pathetic babyish pout. "Just one more kiss before I go though, yeah?"
When you emerged from your bedroom ten minutes later you found Bex sitting at the kitchen table with a coffee in her hand.
"Good Morning! Did you both sleep well?!" She asked with her eyebrows raised.
"Morning Bex, and yes we did thank you." You replied.
"Good good! Kettles just boiled if either of you want a coffee."
"I'm good, I'm going to head off and get showered and changed. Willie will probably wonder where I got to."
"Nah, I told him you were here!"
"Of course you did!" You replied, shaking your head.
She just smiled sweetly.
"I'll walk you out." You said to Niall.
"See you later Bex."
"That you will, Willie is bringing me to your gig tonight. Am looking forward to it."
When you reached the door, he pulled you to him. Your arms instantly wrapped themselves around his neck.
"I'll see you in a bit." He whispered, before kissing you gently.
"Yeah, see you in a bit." You replied before opening the door for him.
With another quick kiss, he was gone.
"Soooo........?" Bex said. "Just friends hey?!"
"I have zero idea what we are if I'm honest." You replied shrugging your shoulders.
"Care to explain what the hell has been happening then? And I want the whole story! With details!"
You really didn't have time for this, you'd got to leave for work. But with Bex telling you she wasn't at work today, and that she could drive you to work. At Willies request she had taken a couple of days off as he had wanted to spend the day with her and head to Niall's gig later. That meant you had time to tell her what had been going on and be in work on time.
You started from the beginning, from when you had walked in on him and Saskia arguing to kissing him at his apartment almost three weeks ago.
"I knew something had happened, you sounded so jittery and flustered on the phone." She said.
Then you told her about him confronting you about that night and how you'd admitted your feelings to him.
"Why didn't you tell me any of this?" She asked.
"I don't know, just embarrassed to. Was worried he might turn around and go back to her."
"And did he? Is that what you argued about, why I found him sitting on our doorstep last night?"
"I went to the after party in Dublin and she was all over him, so I left."
"And what was his explanation?"
"Said he had no idea she was coming and that he'd struggled to get her off of him. She's posted sneaky shit about it all over social media to."
Bex responded by shaking her head in disgust.
You carried on with the story, including yesterday morning at breakfast. Bex had laughed at how sarcastic you'd been to Saskia. "Thin air and diet coke! That's a good one!"
You took your coffee cup to the sink before turning to Bex with a worried look on your face. "Was I wrong to forgive him?"
"No, from what I gather from Willie, since you started working for him he's been smitten with you. Saskia just won't get the hint. He officially ended things with her months ago. Willie had no clue why he was with her especially when she was so rude to you that time and others close to him. I got the impression from Willie that Niall had told her numerous times he didn't want to see her anymore but that she just kept turning up at the same events as him. She likes the association."
"He said it's always been me. That I'm the one he wants."
"I don't doubt it. He was really upset last night."
"I know he was. Look, don't say anything to anyone please?"
She moved closer and wrapped you up in a hug.
"Of course, you don't even need to ask."

Reaching For You
I found some old sketches that reminded me of a comic I wanted to do for Cordelia and Mercury from @mortalheroseries so I figured that I might as well type it out before I forget. Sorry if it sucks, I haven’t written in a very long time. (WARNING: cursing, injuries, possibility of ooc characters, along with bad punctuation and structure) (finished edit: gosh this was a mess so beware)
Cordelia liked to think that she was smarter than the average person. She had gotten good grades and survived this long, so she obviously wasn’t a complete idiot. Yet still, here she sat, in the office of her patron, for once not there to do his paperwork. No, now she sat in a chair opposite his, its cold wood and hard cushioning burning at her skin, and it was all because she lost her temper.
She cursed under her breath. Cordelia was so, so stupid. And now she had to face her patron for it.
“As the patron of this... this delinquent, I expect you to take responsibility for her actions and act accordingly.” A man stood next to Cordelia, crossing his arms as he huffed in fury.
Mercury’s eyes scanned over the two, taking in their injuries. The outsider’s face was swollen and bleeding, accompanied by a huge bump at his temple, which he held as he grunted out his demands. Cordelia, on the other hand, seemed relatively untouched, sporting only a blackened eye and a busted lip as any evidence of the skirmish which had recently occurred. Behind the two, positioned to guard the doorway, were a man and a woman in uniforms similar to that of the injured man.
Despite the glares sent her way, Cordelia’s head was held high, posture stiff, and face stony with a guarded look in her eyes, yet Mercury was still able to notice how her fist clenched at her gut a little too tightly to brush off as normal. He knew his hero, and collected as she was, if there was anyone who could see past her act of indifference, it was him. Now, as he looked closer, her frame trembled ever so slightly, struggling to support her confident facade.
The god sighed, and fixed the two with an annoyed expression. He hated having to deal with work, sitting in a stiff chair as opposed to the lap of his hero.
Honestly, he needed her to be the responsible one who dragged him out of shit, not the other way around.
“Well,” he started, “I’d like to know what the hell happened before I do anything about this.”
The man huffed, before pointing his finger at Cordelia.
“Your supposed hero assaulted me! That’s what happened.” He paused, coughing, “You see this bump? I got this when she threw her gun at me!”
Mercury turned to Cordelia, waiting for a rebuttal, but received only a blank stare in return.
Well if his hero wasn’t going to defend herself, there wasn’t much he could do except prod further.
“I find it hard to believe that my sunshine would ever attack a perfectly innocent person out of nowhere, especially if she knew that I would have to deal with it, so I’m going to need you to be specific as to what she did and why she might have done it.” Mercury emphasized his hero’s nickname, giving the man who had broken his peace a smirk, as if he was daring him to go against his precious hero.
The man stiffened, if only for a moment, but met the god with a haughty look, confidently stating, “I was minding my own business with my buddies when she happened to pass by. I greeted her and made a passing joke as she walked by. I was just trying to lighten up the mood, but before I knew it, she had pounced on me. I was still reeling from the shock of her flipping out that I didnt have enough time to dodge. Without thinking I defended myself and started hitting back.”
Mercury narrowed his eyes, leaning back in his chair.
“What could you even say to get my sunshine to attack you? As far as I know, something like this would never happen.”
The man scoffed, eyes rolling as her peered at Cordelia.
“Well,” he began, “I certainly didn’t say anything worthy of this-“ he motioned at his bloody face to emphasize the point, “All I did was ask if she was having a tough day, and my friends can vouch for that”
Mercury leaned to the side, looking at the man and woman who stood at the doorway. Remembering the strange sight of the two dragging Cordelia through his door minutes ago, he gave them a questioning stare, silently asking for confirmation.
“It’s true.” They grunted in unison, giving Cordelia dirty looks.
“Well you’re going to have to forgive me for being a bit doubtful, but do you have any other witnesses?” Mercury smiled at them coldly, “it’s just that it seems a bit skewed in your favor, what with your only present witnesses being your friends.”
“Alexander was there.” This time the woman spoke, stepping forward to address the god. “He had been coming over to practice when it happened.”
“Well then why isn’t he here? Mr. Perfect doesn’t seem the type to walk away from a fight being the chivalrous ass he is.” Mercury was now beyond skeptical, knowing that his hero’s fucking shield of all people wouldn’t abandon her.
“She told him to go get her brother and that she had everything ‘handled.’” The man in the back answered next.
“Why the FUCK would he need to get Caleb?”
If Cordelia was really going to get into a fight, couldn’t she at least handle it herself???
“I think your hero’s the only one that could answer that.”
“Well,” Mercury turned towards said female, “care to explain?”
Just as Cordelia was about to speak, Alexander burst through the door, panting as he looked towards the shocked group. His cheeks flushed, realizing his abrupt entrance.
“Uh... sorry.” His eyes shifted towards Cordelia, “I... um.. I got Caleb like you asked. He’s with Taylor right now.”
“Well Arthur-“ Mercury started,
“Alexander” the blond corrected.
“Ugh whatever... Well, ALEXANDER,” The god continued, annoyed. “What exactly happened between my sunshine and these three?”
“I had been on my way to train when I passed by these four. I heard one of them ask Cordelia something about her day, and a few moments later I heard screaming. When I turned around, she was on him and the other two were trying to pull her off. Just as I was about to run in to break off the fighting, she yelled at me to go get Caleb. Naturally I was hesitant, but they had already almost subdued her, and I trusted my seniors to take care of the situation.” Alexander then turned back to Cordelia with a guilty look, “I’m sorry Cordelia, I want to believe that there was something more to what happened, but I won’t lie about what I saw.”
Cordelia seemed unmoved, with no hint of anger in her eyes, and merely nodded.
“As much as I’ve loved this drama, I’d really like to get back to my nap, so what do you say Sunshine? Anything you’d like to add on?”
Cordelia didn’t meet her patron’s eyes, instead opting to focus on the wall just behind him.
“He said something else.”
Simple, blunt, and annoyingly vague. Mercury groaned in exasperation.
He was a god, not a babysitter.
“Well sunshine, I kind of need to know what he said.” His smile didn’t reach his eyes this time. Even Mercury had his limits when it came to bullshit.
“When I didn’t reply he cursed at me under his breath and insulted my brother.”
Mercury turned to the others in the room.
“Is this true? Thunder boy, did you hear this?”
“Um,” Alexander hesitated, “well I didn’t hear it, but... I can’t be sure he never said it...” Though the boy had tried to assist his friend, Mercury could already see his doubt instantly crushing any attempt at help.
“We didn’t hear him say that, and we were there next to him.” Both friends said, looking towards the god.
“I’d hate to say it but are you sure he said that Sunshine? So far three of your seniors along with your one companion have all vouched for the same story, and it’s not looking good for you. Why should I believe you?” Mercury leaned forward, propping his elbows on his desk as he gave Cordelia one last chance at clearing her name.
“You shouldn’t,” she whispered.
“Wait what?” Out of all the possible responses, Mercury had not been expecting this.
“You have no reason to believe me.” Cordelia repeated, “You’ve known me for a short amount of time so my word against three seniors is meaningless. My own companion can’t vouch for me, and I have no evidence other than the memory of what this man had said to me. Logic dictates that I shouldn’t be believed, so do what you will. I know anything I have to say will not hold any merit to you, so what’s the point of fighting the inevitable? I’ll get punished no matter what I do.” Her shoulders sagged ever so slightly, defeat entering her body as her eyes clouded with resignation.
Mercury stilled, a look of contemplation entering his face. Everything she said was logical enough in regards to who seemed to be the believable one, and any normal person would agree.
But this was Mercury, and for all he cared logic could go fuck itself.
He knew his sunshine wasn’t guilty, and the proof was sitting in front of him.
“I believe you.” He stated as simply as if he were reciting a basic fact.
“Excuse me?” Now it was Cordelia’s turn to be confused.
This wasn’t supposed to happen. This never happened.
“I saaaaaiiid I believe you sunshine. Honestly I’m offended you have such little faith in your god.” Mercury exclaimed holding his hand to his chest in mock hurt, “However, I do need to know what he said to get my sunshine so grumpy!”
As this exchange went on, the rest of the occupants stared in shock. The injured man finally spoke up,
“That doesn’t make any sense! She even admitted to not being trustworthy! That girl might be your hero but that doesn’t mean she can get special treatment.”
“Okay, number one: shut the fuck up. Number two: I’m a god and I’ll do whatever the fuck I want without having to deal with a lesser being bitching about it. And finally, number three: I know there’s more to this story and I won’t punish my hero for nothing.” Mercury turned back to his still silent hero, “Hey sunshine, it’s kind of hard to defend you when you aren’t defending yourself.”
Silence... and then-
“Get off your high horse you brother-fucking-bitch. Is that little cunt the reason why you’re acting like a haughty piece of shit, or is it because you also fuck your patron?”
Everyone in the room quieted as Cordelia’s voice rose. It took Mercury a second to process what came out of his hero’s mouth, before a cold chill swept through his body into the room. The three accusers were quiet... too quiet, and the god did not miss the recognition that flared in their eyes.
“...Cordelia, what did you say? I... I think I might have misheard you.” Alexander was completely dumbfounded, looking at his friend in surprise, yet no doubt nor recognition occupied his eyes, only genuine confusion.
“He insulted both my brother and my patron under his breath when I didn’t say anything, so you wouldn’t have heard him from where you were. This wasn’t the first time he’s harassed me, so I at first ignored him. But I just couldn’t control myself when he said those things and I punched him before he started attacking me with his friend’s help. I was scared one of them would go for Caleb so I managed to get up and tell you to go find him before they overtook me.”
The god had been observing Cordelia as she spoke, and unlike the other three involved, her gaze was clear of lies and she spoke without hesitance or fear.
This girl was telling the truth.
“Well I think that settles it. You three are full of bullshit, Mr.Shield has no idea what the fuck is going on, and my sunshine is the only victim here. Now, let’s get to the punishment-“ but before Mercury could get to his next point, he noticed his hero with her head down shaking.
“... Actually, let’s take a break for now. Alex, watch these three and bring them outside for a bit while I decide what to do with them.” Mercury’s smile was anything but pleasant, and all four people exiting felt a harsh gust of wind push them from the room.
“Now that those idiots are gone, maybe you can help me decide what to do with them? Caleb seems like the type of kid to ask for a pony for Christmas. Maybe the little squirt would like to ride his own human-centipede!” Mercury’s attempt to lighten up the mood failed horribly as no answer came. “...Okay, maybe the centipede was a bad idea. Ooh I know! We’ll make them eat peppers until they barf. Too messy? Well maybe-“
But before Mercury could finish his train of thought, he heard something coming from his hero.
...Was... was she crying?
Mercury turned himself towards the girl, and sure enough she was curled up in her chair, knees pulled up as her arms wrapped around herself.
“Why didn’t you believe me?”
The words echoed in her head, shaking and distorting as Cordelia was once again a child. She was young, so very young, yet there she sat, curled around her brother who sobbed in pain, with a look of pure despair, making her seem so much older than she already was. Her father hung outside the car door, hand still in the air after his failed attempt to reconnect ended only with his children flinching away from his touch as if it were an iron brand. He sighed, defeated, before looking at his daughter.
“I don’t know.”
That wasn’t an answer, and they both knew it.
“I don’t know” didn’t heal the scars covering his children.
“I don’t know” didn’t stop his youngest from screaming in fear.
“I don’t know” didn’t prevent his eldest from looking at him with more than just fear in her eyes.
The tears that poured down, drowning her as her breathing shallowed, did not stop. They covered her, mixing with the rain, dirt, and blood. Staining her skin, and branding her with the undeniable fact that her father wasn’t there for her when he should have been.
He was never there, and he would never be there.
While her father’s failure smothered her on the outside, the void of her mother’s absence consumed her from within.
At least her father had rejected her face-to-face.
Her mother didn’t even have the nerve to look her in the eye, rejecting her the only way she knew how to, by leaving her there, cold, alone, and confused.
Cordelia collapsed into herself, unable to hold the weight of the world any longer.
Cordelia was alone. She always would be.
And tonight had been the last piece of evidence that she needed. The final brick to seal the void which she left inside herself.
“You didn’t believe me.”
“You didn’t believe me.”
“You didn’t believe me.”
“You didn’t believe me.”
“You didn’t believe me.”
“Y O U D I D N ‘ T B E L I E V E M E.”
She screamed into the void, yet no answer came.
And as she screamed, her voice grew coarse, until it finally died. Sound evaded her, her mouth opening, yet nothing coming out. But soon she learned it was for the best, for what was the point of reaching out when all those who noticed shrank away? There was no need to yearn for words that would never come.
“I believe you.”
So simple, so direct, yet so foreign to the girl. She flinched, gazing up only to be met by the mischievous eyes of her patron.
That was right, it was a joke. It was always a joke when Mercury was involved.
Yet, as he stared back, Cordelia saw no lies in his clear gaze. All that sat there was trust, a look exclusively given to her by her brother and no one else. Yet here she was, looking into the eyes of someone who wasn’t afraid to look back.
Those three single words burned into her memory, unforgettable in their sincerity.
For the first time in twenty years, the void spoke back. It reached for her. Begging for her to reach back.
And she did.
Mercury hovered over his hero, confusion turning to complete internal panic.
Cordelia didn’t cry. She never cried.
Did he do something wrong? Maybe she was holding back her pain from the injuries during their whole confrontation. Oh gods when he got his hands on those little-
“You believed me.”
He froze, the sound of crying gone once again, as he looked down to see Cordelia staring straight ahead, a look of confusion, mixed with doubt evident on her face.
“... Of course I did, they were obviously lying.”
Mercury instantly flinched, his mask of indifference wavering as he saw a heartbroken look covering Cordelia’s features once again.
Stupid, stupid, stupid-
“Oh... I see.” Her mouth curled into a twisted smile, “My apologies, I was being foolish.”
“No wait-“ the god started, silently cursing himself for being so thoughtless, “I would have believed you anyway sunshine!”
“But... why? Why would you believe me? Why would you place your trust in someone you barely know?” She shook now, anger emerging to harden her softened heart. She was being too weak, too eager, too trusting with the trickster god and she knew it. “What do you really want Mercury?”
“Cordelia.”
Cordelia froze, her name spoken so concisely by her patron as he gave her a serious look. Their gray eyes connected, creating an unspoken link between the two.
The god leaned in, and, if only for a moment, his stare faltered, concern flashing in his eyes, and a mysterious melancholy clouding his vision.
“...My dear hero, I have known you for a short amount of time, and the moment I held you in my arms I treasured you. I treasured you for the power and chaos you held within you. For the benefits your mere presence offered, and the chance bestowed upon me. I saw you as a stepping stone. And yet-“ his mask fell and pure anguish washed his features, “And yet you proved me wrong. My lovely hero, you were so much more than what that stone indicated. You were true and much more worthy of whatever this hellish realm had to offer you. My hero, my Cordelia, you are good, I know you are. And you deserve only good in return.”
“...” Cordelia shuddered, before collapsing onto her patron as she sobbed.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, T H A N K Y O U.”
Mercury froze before he held her tightly, memories of the fateful night when he first held her flashing through his mind.
“Anything for you, my dear mortal hero.”

Walking The Wire (109/?)
Summary: Tony Stark always knew about Peter Parker. He didn’t know that Peter was going to get superpowers and become Spider-Man, but he always knew about Peter because Peter was his son.
This will span from pre-Iron Man up through the rest of the MCU (eventually including Infinity War) and will be for the most part canon compliant except where I’ve taken some liberties and interpreted canon a certain way.
Pairings: Pepper/Tony, Tony/Steve (endgame), Tony/Mary (past)
A/N: If you want me to tag you when I post new chapters let me know. This fic is also on AO3
I used Collider’s MCU timeline to stay canon and the title of this fic is an Imagine Dragons song that is just so fitting for Peter and Tony

Chapter One Hundred Eight
2018
Ben & Jerry’s came out with a whole bunch of new flavors that were Avengers inspired. Peter found out when Ned texted him and MJ about it in a group text. Later, when he got home from school, he found out that not only were there new flavors, but that Ben & Jerry had gone ahead and sent them at the tower a few pints of each of the new flavors.
“This is amazing,” Peter said when he peered into the freezer. “Did you know this was happening?”
“Despite your metabolism, I don’t expect that eating all of it at once would be wise,” his dad said. “And no, I didn’t.”
“How long do you think they’ve been working on this?” Sam asked. He was leaning against one of the counters and already digging into a pint box of the A Hunka-Hulka-Burning Fudge. “Don’t they take years creating flavors?”
“Not sure. Don’t care,” Tony said and reached into the freezer to pull out Cap-ilicious Triple Berry.  “All I know is that apparently I’m not off dairy and that this is delicious.”
“I would have thought they’d do a more patriotic look to Cap’s ice cream,” Sam said.
Peter reached blindly for one of the containers so he wouldn’t have to make a choice and he saw his dad shrug as he took a bite of the Cap inspired ice cream. Peter had wound up with Stark Raving Hazelnuts which really was not all bad. It was certainly a nice thing to come home to. He took another bite and then took a picture of the ice cream to send to Ned.
“You know, I’m really glad we got a wedding planner,” Tony said as he looked through a few cake design options.
Steve who was in the middle of painting something laughed. “You mean, you’re glad Pepper got us a wedding planner even though this whole thing was supposed to be a small thing because Peter despite his excitement is still just a teenage boy that knows next to nothing about weddings.”
Tony shrugged. “Sure, what you said. But I’m still glad. Anyway, people like parties. And at this rate we just really have to make a few choices and then just show up. We can even leave early if you really want. What are you painting anyway?”
“The view,” Steve said and sure enough he was. Everything outside the window had been transferred to the canvas. It wasn’t exact -- more of an abstract, but that didn’t make it any less beautiful. Tony had never really understood art or even bothered to like it -- but that didn’t mean he didn’t appreciate everything that Steve created.
His art room had filled up with more and more art since Steve had finally focused on his hobby. He wasn’t obsessive, but he spent hours painting away or sketching. It kept him entertained and Tony was happy about it. He liked that Steve had something to do that was all his own. Tony also loved watching him do it -- the concentration that he put into his art was unlike anything else. In another lifetime, it was possible that Steve would have just become some artist that everyone admired.
Tony got up. “I’ll leave you to it. I have a bit of work to finish up in the lab.”
Steve nodded. Tony pressed a kiss to his temple and walked out of the room. He found Sam and Wanda watching some odd cartoon and then spotted Vision in the kitchen.
“Hey, Viz.”
Vision and Wanda spent a lot of time on their own on their floor but it wasn’t odd to find them up in the penthouse some days. What Tony found weird about it was that Vision seemed to be more and more human-like these days. He had started dressing like a regular person a long time ago but now he seemed to not mind changing his appearance to look human. It was a little strange.
“A letter arrived for you,” Vision said.
“That’s odd,” Tony said. “We usually don’t get any mail sent up here.”
“It is possible someone brought it up and left it in the kitchen for you to find,” Vision said.
“Right,” Tony said but it all still sounded a bit odd.
Vision didn’t respond and he picked up the bowl of popcorn and went to join Wanda and Sam in the living room. The letter was in a manila envelope and Tony figured he’d take it with him, but his mind was already turning to the new designs he’d been working on. Natasha was already out of her house arrest unlike the rest of them and she’d been cleared to rejoin The Avengers officially. It also meant that she was free to do whatever Fury wanted from her and Tony wanted to give her the best gear to do that with.
The heater in the Spider-Man suit was one of the best things ever. It meant that Peter could actually patrol without feeling the brisk cold air. It had snowed a few days earlier and there was gray and dark dirty snow on the edges of most streets. Peter also found that most rooftops were covered and useless to him. But he was still out and about for a few hours.
But it turned out that when it was cold out that there wasn’t a lot of crime to go after. Not a lot of people were out unless they needed to be. Peter did save a woman from slipping on ice.
“Anything going on, Karen? I’m kind of getting bored.”
“Not that I can tell,” Karen said.
“I should have just gone and trained with Steve. I guess it’s a good thing, right, that nothing is happening.”
“I believe so, Peter.”
He swung off of a fire escape and headed towards the tower. Maybe he’d just go and actually work on his homework. There was an essay due in a few days that he should get on top of. His junior year of high school had brought along a ton more work and college was a thing that everyone was starting to get worried about. Tony liked to mention MIT in passing all the time and then May brought it up in her own way too, always hinting at how Peter would need to give up Spider-Man for it and Peter just -- he didn’t want to think about that.
He got back to the tower to find Natasha was back from a mission and sitting in the living room with Sam, Steve, Wanda, and Vision.
“Hey, Peter,” Natasha said. She had a split lip and yet she still smiled at him.
“We left you food in the kitchen,” Steve said. “We also left food for Tony if you want to bring some to him.”
“Cool. Thanks. I will.”
Food turned out to be sub sandwiches so after getting back into his normal clothes, Peter just grabbed both and went to the workshop. He was expecting to find Tony working, but instead his dad was looking at paperwork.
“Hungry?” Peter asked.
His dad turned to look at him. “Oh, you’re home. I -- I must have lost track of time.”
“What are you working on?” Peter asked.
“Nothing. Nothing. Just something that got in the mail today got me a bit distracted.” He waved his hand and the display disappeared. “Anyway, food. How was school today? Patrol?”
“Same. Not much going on.”
Tony nodded. He was oddly distracted. It made Peter worry a little. His dad only tended to get weird when something was happening.
“Did I ever tell you that I can’t actually have kids,” Tony said after they’d sat in silence eating for a while.
“No,” Peter said, not sure where the conversation was going. “I mean, maybe. I kind of think I knew that already.”
Tony nodded. “I -- it was to do with the arc reactor. Anyway, there was a time when I didn’t think that I would ever meet you or that it would make a difference because you were growing so fast and I never needed my parents when I was your age -- well, I probably did but I didn’t really have them. I guess that’s what makes more sense.”
“What are you getting at?” Peter asked. He was so confused.
Tony sighed and he wiped his mouth with a napkin and then he got up and grabbed a few sheets of paper. “A while back I applied to adopt. Sort of on a whim. Sort of because I really wanted to be a dad since at the time I couldn’t really be yours. I thought I’d never get to meet you. It takes time to adopt and I had forgotten about it just because of everything that happened. Actually -- I don’t remember if I told Steve about it. Thing is, nothing came of it and then I met you.”
Peter remembered a conversation about his dad possibly wanting other kids and how much Peter just -- he didn’t know how to feel about it. He hadn’t really let himself think about any of it especially since Tony had said he wasn’t sure if anything might happen.
“But why are you -- what’s that paper?” Peter motioned to the papers that Tony was holding.
“They want to know if I’m still interested,” Tony said.
“Oh,” Peter said.
Tony let out a breath. “I don’t think this is the right time,” Tony said. “Not for any of us.”
“Oh,” Peter said again and it was as if he didn’t know how to say anything else. He just -- he didn’t know if his dad wanted his opinion or if he was just telling Peter about it to tell him. Peter was also quite sure that he didn’t know how to feel.
It was getting closer to the end of the school year when a school trip was announced and Peter was dismayed to hear that it was a tour of SI. MJ cackled and laughed for a solid minute once she found out and just wouldn’t let it go all throughout lunch and then later when they were walking out of Midtown. Ned on the other hand seemed as excited as everyone else. The trip wasn’t for another few weeks, but Peter was already dreading it. He just knew that it wasn’t going to go well. He had kept the fact that he was living at the tower a secret from everyone including Ned and Michelle for over a year and this was going to be thing that finally revealed that to them -- he could just feel it.
“Aha, so we finally get to find out that Penis Parker has been lying about that internship all this time,” Flash said when he walked past them.
Peter rolled his eyes.
“Or prove Flash wrong,” Ned said. “This is actually really awesome. Do you think any of the Avengers will show up?”
Peter shook his head. “It’s not a trip to the living floors. Just the labs and SI. They don’t usually go down there.”
“But wouldn’t it be awesome if Flash saw you talking to them and they ignored him.”
Peter settled him with a look. “That’s not going to happen, Ned.”
When he got back home, he almost hesitated to mention the whole thing. He was going to have to get May to sign the permission slip since she was still his guardian, but if Peter was going to go -- and he really couldn’t not without giving ammunition to Flash to make fun of him with -- he was going to have to make sure that he did appear to be an intern at SI. Peter couldn’t remember the last time he had gone down to those floors of the building. He assumed that the trip was going to be geared towards the R&D rooms. Maybe he could get Pepper to help him out with making his story seem legitimate.
He ran into Steve as he was getting out of the elevator.
“Hey, Peter,” Steve said. “Not patrolling today?”
“I might go out later,” Peter said and followed Steve to the kitchen where Sam was in the middle of taking cookies out of the oven.
“Well we were planning on a movie if you want to join,” Sam said.
“Yeah, I will,” Peter said. It offered for the perfect distraction. He would figure out what he was going to do about the trip later.

my favourite sailor moon season 1 episodes
since i’m rewatching the sailor moon series (again...) i thought i would rank all my favourite episodes from each season then compile them all together and see which episode is my absolute favourite of the entire show. considering i have no idea what my favourite episode is... maybe i’ll know now, hah.
Tumblr media
Episode 8 - The Girl Genius Is a Monster: The Brainwashing Cram School of Horror
Tumblr media
so uh... as a stressed student i can relate to this a lot. the kids going into the cram school is me going into school every morning. this is definitely not my favourite episode of the season but the introduction to ami is really sweet, especially when people whisper about ami behind her back but then when usagi actually meets her, ami ends up being the sweetest girl.
i also just love the fact that ami freaking owned everyone in that arcade on the sailor v game?? like wow feminism right there
Episode 10 - The Cursed Bus: Enter Mars, the Guardian of Fire
Tumblr media
mars is my favourite inner senshi and she’s honestly so cool in this episode. this is probably the only episode in the entire series where she’s quite akin to her manga self, and while i love her in the anime, i think her aloof manga self is great too. it’s interesting to me to get a look into japanese culture through shinto. watching this as a kid i had no idea what was really japanese religion and such so learning about this was cool (i had like 4 sailor moon episodes and they were all the introductory episodes to the senshi). also the bus was really freaky and scary and just what the heck. rei’s reaction to jadeite is also quite funny (she basically has heart palpitations of him, and not the good kind)
Episode 17 - Usagi's a Model: The Flash of the Monster Camera
Tumblr media
one of the few episodes that aren’t the finale that i can tell you that usagi kicks some legitimate ass in here. like what a badass! i can’t say i know the last time usagi has done this, hah. this entire episode includes everyone telling usagi she can’t be a model because she’s not a good enough person or she’s not pretty enough. i mean even mamoru is back being the asshole he is in this first season, even though he goes on about how she won’t be picked because she’s not pretty on the inside and what not (like wth dude you don’t even know her) but usagi is picked anyways (like everyone who signed up but... whatever) and then she is left alone to fight the youma and then she is to fight the monster by herself. she does so by cleverly using the mirrors. one of the saddest bits in the show is when he family is watching the tv while usagi is asleep in her room they talk about how they wish usagi was as great as the girl who saved the photographer’s life (sailor moon) but ?? do they not care about the factt that usagi was AT THAT PHOTOSHOOT?? GETTING ATTCKED?? i know they don’t know she’s sailor moon but heck she was there she might’ve been attacked. the tsukino household can be so annoying sometimes hfksdh i digress
Episode 20 - The Summer, the Beach, Youth and Ghosts
Tumblr media
this is a genuinely hilarious episode. poor mitsuishi kotono, she spent most of the episode screaming at the ghosts lmao. i like this episode because we see the girls get up to their usual loud shenanigans (and hell i love me a beach episode). this is also a episode about a heavy topic of a girls’ father forcing herself into a duty she is too young to deal with. it gets pretty dark too and i can see why they didn’t put this into the dic dub (she literally starts CRYING and i get these sort of like... really bad rape vibes. I KNOW HE’S HER FATHER BUT IT’S SO GROSS). anyways, it’s really dark but has it’s funny moments as we focus on some other characters, it’s a really good beach ova.
Episode 21 - Protect the Children's Dreams: Friendship Through Anime
Tumblr media
this episode is so great, i really do love it. it might might be my favourite in the season. i just love these two friends a lot, especially hiromi as a character (the shorthaired one). hiromi deals with being jealous over her friend’s sketches in animating and it gets so bad that nephrite has to come by with his stupid self and ruin everything. anyone with low self esteem such as hiromi can relate to constantly feeling like you’re in the shadow of your colleagues, your best friend. nephrite’s episodes tend to be my favourite because we see that our actions, when we are selfish and snobby that it affects others a lot. even though i despise nephrite his episodes have become a favourite of mine.
Episode 28 - The Painting of Love: Usagi and Mamoru Get Closer
Tumblr media
one of the few episodes where mamoru isn’t a complete ass to usagi (i think?) and he’s actually kinda ... civil with her. he still treats her like a child but i mean she acts like one so... i like this episode a lot because you can really see the difference in usagi and mamoru with the help of this really cute artist lady yumemi. i also think it’s really funny how usagi even meets yumemi is because she’s going to call out mamoru for cheating on rei lmao. this episode is really nice just because it starts more heavily foreshadowing about mamoru and usagi’s backseat relationship.
Episode 31 - Love and Chased: Luna's Worst Day Ever
Tumblr media
if you don’t like this episode then there’s GOT to be something wrong with you. this episode is pure crackhead goodness while we get a spoof of sailor moon’s own show with loveable luna and righteous rhett butler, luna’s love interest before we even knew artemis’ name. this episode is just pure gold and this might be my second favourite episode of the season, not gonna lie. when i saw the cat bone instead of tuxedo mask’s rose, i remember laughing so hard i couldn’t breathe. i love this show.
Episode 37 - Let's Become a Princess: Usagi's Bizarre Training
Tumblr media
being princess hard. not my favourite episode for any particular reason other than it’s REALLY enjoyable to watch. i also just love how usagi sucks at literally everything i suck at and she is just so relateable in this episode. i also love how she’s not the only one who sucks at ballroom dancing, minako can’t dance and rei is too much of a dom to let the other guy lead. feminism!
Episode 38 - The Snow, the Mountains, Friendship and Monsters
Tumblr media
this episode marks one of my favourites because it begins rei’s total understanding of usagi’s relationship with mamoru and this continues from this episode until SAILOR STARS (yes i know she was kinda understanding of usagi in episode 35 but she also slapped usagi so...) but this episode is full of clumsy usagi goodness and the great friendship of usagi and rei.
Episode 43 - Usagi Abandoned: The Falling-Out of the Sailor Guardians
Tumblr media
i love these sorts of episodes, and just like the previous one, we get even MORE usarei friendship moments and i’m LIVING for it. even the senshi think mars actually hates usagi but noooppppe she’s actually her bestie. this is a great episode.
Episode 44 - Usagi's Awakening: A Message from the Distant Past
Tumblr media
ok so i don’t really like mamoru and usagi BUT i like serenity and endymion. this backstory episode is GREAT and i wish i had a short show based around fun at the moon kingdom because that would be great? i love sailor moon don’t get me wrong but i don’t like mamoru and usagi. cough. this episode gives off a more ethereal quality and is sucha beautiful episode animation wise.
Episode 46 - Usagi's Eternal Wish: A Brand New Life
Tumblr media
while the last episode was HEARTWRENCHINGLY SAD i can’t get over how sad this episode is. not even mentioning how awesome it is when the beginning of moonlight densetsu comes on when usagi pull out her moon wand. this episode rips me apart because while i dislike usagi and mamoru this dialogue just makes me so sad “Live a normal life. Find a cool boyfriend.” “Nobody’s cooler than you.” AND I CRIED. nobody’s cooler than you, the asshole who called me fat, stupid, and ugly for 30 episodes. but whatever, i’m still sad. and then usagi’s monologue at the ending (i’m not a big fan of kae araki as usagi but i still... love the monologue so much) and just wow. what a great ending.
this was more episodes then i expected
