Do you think Sephiroth drinks ungodly amounts of milk when nobody's watching?

Sephiroth is only allowed to have limited quantities of dairy products thanks to his Shinra-sanctioned diet. With that said, he occasionally gets odd cravings for milk and cream when he least expects it, often late in the evening. Those catboy cravings are intense!

Upon sneaking into the break room for a meager pint or two, he's very surprised to find young Cadet Strife doing the exact same thing, leaning into the fridge with the carton halfway to his lips.

Five centuries of silence, neither of them moving.

Sephiroth (eventually): "I presume you were drinking directly from our shared supply because...?"

Cloud: "....Coffee. Yeah. Needed some for uh...coffee."

A pause.

"...You?"

Sephiroth stares, probably long enough to give the poor cadet serious cause for alarm.

Sephiroth (also eventually): "......Coffee."

And so our two future fated foes spend an extremely awkward ten minutes in each other's company at opposite ends of the table, nipping at lukewarm coffee they didn't even want.

New cream puff flavour from Chateraise Singapore. So I picked up three of this Double Fantasy Milk Tea (S$2) on the way home and immediately chucked them into the freezer. Frozen, it now resembled ice cream puff though I should have let it defrost first. The fillings are that of tea-flavoured custard fresh cream and Hokkaido fresh cream. Maybe I ate it frozen, the tea flavour is subtle and not as strong as I would have liked it.

When they learn that you love receiving words of affirmation, they get a little shy. On days when things aren't as good as you'd thought they'd be, or when times get so hard you don't feel like doing anything, something in their gut tells them to talk to you. It starts small, but it slowly becomes something they say often: "You're smarter than you give yourself credit for", "I think you've done well and deserve a break", "Actually, I thought you did pretty good". They'll leave little comments for you every so often to let you know how much they care, even when showing it can be difficult when it's a form of affection they're not used to conveying.

They often give you compliments because they know it makes you feel good. Not only that, but because you deserve it. Maybe they don't consider themselves articulate enough to express how much you mean to them, or maybe they're just afraid of saying something wrong. No matter what though, they let you know with simpler phrasing, something that they know won't get lost in translation.

You appreciate how much they sing your praises, but honestly? Sometimes it's a little... Let's just put it this way: sometimes it really baffles you with how loud they can be with your affirmations. They love seeing your expression at the sight of their antics, too. Doesn't make it any less embarrassing for you—in fact, they might be loud and embarrassing on purpose. They can be really creative with their compliments, like comparing you to things you wouldn't typically think of right away when you want to compliment someone. Sometimes they might pull a more "classic" line, something akin to calling you as beautiful as a mid-summer day or something? But seriously, they love you so much, why would they ever hold their tongue about it?

so I was skimming some of the flavor text in the dnd cookbook justin got for christmas, and the intro to elven cuisine mentioned many elves having dietary restrictions like vegetarianism and veganism because of "their great respect for all life", and not to be too galaxy brained and/or maybe kind of a bitch but I really feel like a lot of elves and druids specifically aren't vegetarian, because they have a better than average respect and compassion for all life but they also have a better than average understanding that that includes plants

#nothing that's alive wants to be killed and eaten actually. sorry #I think having a mindful and respectful relationship to the ecosystem and your part in it makes more sense for compassion and ethics #than trying to draw lines around which living things' desires to live and be uninjured do or do not count enough to qualify for mercy #and in dnd where there are entire peoples whose magic allows them to talk to animals AND PLANTS #I really feel like you either have to make peace with being IN the food web rather than separate from it OR... starve to death #get really good at living solely on fruits and milk. or get real weird and feed on carrion only maybe #I dunno #this is about fantasy peoples mostly but it IS also about like... #it used to be an accepted scientific truth that animals didn't have thoughts and feelings at all #it's still widely believed (and increasingly disproven) that certain 'lesser' animals can't feel pain or fear #studies are beginning to suggest that plants may be able to communicate and have some kind of consciousness that's not very well understood #I dunno it's like... we have an instinct to distance ourselves from the things we eat for our own comfort but that distance is an illusion #nothing wants to get eaten but everything must eat #worldbuilding
