Tiga set tren 3-gerabak EMU akan dihantar ke utara untuk menambahbaik perkhidmatan KTM Komuter Utara laluan Padang Besar – Butterworth – Padang Besar dan Padang Rengas – Butterworth – Padang Rengas. Dengan penambahan gerabak tren ini, ia akan membantu kekerapan tren dari 60 minit ke 20 minit pada waktu pagi dan 60 minit ke 30 minit pada waktu puncak petang.
