okay this is a genuinely interesting ask and therefore i went and lightly documented myself on kinds of wood, cores and lenghts that wands have and who and why they suit certain individuals:

james potter — fir wood (demanded staying power and strength of purpose in their true owners, and favoured owners of focused, strong-minded and, occasionally, intimidating demeanour). dragon heartstring core, 11 inches long.

remus lupin — english oak wood (demanded partners of strength, courage, and fidelity. powerful intuition, and affinity with the magic of the natural world, with the creatures and plants). unicorn hair core, 10 inches long.

peter pettigrew — chestnut wood (curious, multi-faceted wood, which varied greatly in its character depending on the wand core, and took a great deal of colour from the personality that possessed it). unicorn hair core, 9 inches long.

sirius black — ebony wood (impressive appearance and reputation, highly suited in combative magic and transfiguration. happiest in the hand of those with courage to be themselves. non-conformist, highly individual or outsiders. perfect match was one who holds to their beliefs, no matter external pressure, and not be swayed lightly from their purpose.) dragon heartstring core. 12 inches long.

“I’m taking back my brother!”

The original scene has a desaturated palette because there's no light on him, and I wanted to make something different, though I'm not sure I did that right because he doesn't look evil from the palette. But I really like the effects I used and I'm satisfied so far. I've been trying to do a softer shading but it's not easy to stop being such a perfectionist haha

(I have to edit this commentary and talk more about the good stuff I liked about this drawing not just complaining lol)

This is based on the moment when Yumoto snaps from the despair of losing his brother after such a long fight... but this time, he snaps from exhaustion and anger at the twins for taking his brother away. I hope his expression portrays these feelings propely, since I love drawing facial expressions. He’s about to lunge forward and attack the twins here

This took three months and it's weird because yesterday I felt like who knew how long this would take to get done, and suddenly it's finished and it looks great?? WHAT

I ran into a problem tho and it's that more than a month ago I started finding lots of little parts where the coloring slightly didn't get to the lines like I had been sloppy, and kept finding them up until today while I was finishing the piece. I'm furious and if I find one more of those after this I'm gonna snap just like Yumoto

Also in my original idea the other Battle Lovers were supposed to be behind him all blurred so the glow would contrast with their white costumes and make Yumoto stand out more, but they ended up being kinda daunting to draw and the perspective was hard for me when I was just gonna blur them so I just left them out. Maybe if I remake this or make a similar piece in the future I'll put them

Here's the original coloring without filters because I worked a lot on this and I felt like after putting the filters it was kind of a waste to not use it
