As much as a hyper energetic person as Hoshiumi is, his energy will get drained after a long day of volleyball practice and that’s why he’s so grateful to have a lover like you who’s into such relaxing and calming things. He loves that whenever he got home, all tired and sore, you’ll be there and help him relax, either by reading a book with him or just cuddling in eachother’s arms while wearing comfy oversized sweatshirts until you both passed out with the calming music still going.

AN: we are getting to the climax (😏)VERY soon 👀
Broken Pipes Masterlist
6pm, Friday Night
The hotel lobby was empty as Korai walked in, exhausted from a long practice, a practice that was even more mentally draining because you had been there. Korai thought back to earlier.
“Wow this place is massive! Is this all for the Adlers?” You asked, staring in awe of the large gymnasium located just a few blocks from your hotel. It was actually a nice walk and it felt good getting fresh air.
Korai held the door open to the gym as you stepped inside, your wedged heels clicking firmly on the gym floor. You opted to wear a sundress with a cardigan and a pair of sensible heels. You wanted to make a good impression on the coach, hoping you could possibly persuade him that Korai had been untreated fairly and that this was all your fault.
“Yep, it’s pretty sweet. We have a gym, a track and a full pool too. Usually the pool gets rented out but we use it endurance training sometimes,” he remarked as you looked around. It was a beautiful gym decorated in the cooks of the Adlers. It looked relatively new and like no expense was spared.
“It’s beautiful! I can only imagine how amazing it would be to work in a place like this. Korai loved hearing you say that, hoping that soon he would get a chance to ask you to leave your lavish modeling life behind and exchange it for one of a meager manager. He tried to convince himself that it sounded a lot more romantic than it actually did.
“You can wait here, I’ll just going to get changed and I’ll be right back,” he said as you nodded, looking cute and sexy as hell in the short sundress you wore. You were determined to look nice, to make a good impression.
“Don’t worry Korai, we’ll keep an eye on our sweet little YN,” Heiwajima yelled from across the gym floor as he and Romero came walking over.
“Yeah, I don’t think so,” he answered as Romero fake gasped pulling a laugh from you.
“Hey Yn, coach says you can come and we can talk in his office. Korai once your dressed, you can come too,” Hirugami said, coming up to you and smiling. You stood, giving Korai a smile as Hirugami escorted you to the office. Korai quickly ran to the locker room, changing before making his way to the offices. He saw coaches door cracked open as he knocked, entering when summoned to see you seated across from coach with Hirugami leaning against the wall.
“Have a seat Korai,” Coach said, motioning for him to sit next to you, “Miss LN was just explains to me what happened.”
“Please call me YN sir and like I was saying, Korai did nothing wrong. My manager isn’t the nicest person and can be rather brass at times. He’s very devoted to my career and can sometimes overstep.”
Sometimes was a bit of an understatement and you knew it.
“Korai was protecting me, if anything I should be thanking him for what he did! I don’t want him getting in trouble over something like this, especially when it wasn’t his fault.”
“YN, I understand and I’ll admit, I didn’t believe the complaint matched Korai’s behavior. I’ve know him for several years and this is the first complaint we’ve ever received about him,” the coach said as you face dropped.
This was his first complaint and it was all because he was standing up for you? You felt awful, tarnishing his record after years of it being spotless all because you simply couldn’t stand up for yourself. As of noticing the switch, Korai turned to you and lifted your chin, peering into your eyes as you tried desperately to hold back tears.
“YN it’s ok, I’m not mad, nobody is,” he said, trying to make you feel even an ounce better. You nodded, sucking in the tears and looking at the coach.
“I appreciate you coming Yn and I can tell you care very much for Korai, unfortunately he did sign the document pleading guilty so I can’t take away the fine but I assure you, this will not be made public nor will it follow Korai. Once the fine is paid, the matter is considered settled and we move on,” the coach said as you deflated, feeling like your efforts to persuade the coach had all been in vein.
“Then I insist on paying the fine,” you said as the coach and Hirugami stared at you and Korai’s head shot in your direction.
“What did I say this morning huh? I said if the fine stands, I’ll pay it,” Korai spat as you slowly turned your head, your eyes meeting his with an icy glare.
“Oh I heard you but it doesn’t mean I have to do what you say,” you ground out as you turned to the coach, “can you please direct me where to pay it?”
“Oh shit,” Hirugami snorted, trying to cover his laugh as Korai’s glare shot to him. The coach was trying his best to keep his composure, unsure how to react to your assertive behavior.
“Well umm-”
“Don’t you dare tell her how to pay it!” Korai shouted, standing up and leaning over the desk, “you know what, I’ll just take care of it right now and then it’s done.” He turned around, leaving the desk and stomping to the locker room. The door slammed as all the guys watch him, Heiwajima whistling at Korai’s behavior.
“What happened?” Sokolov asked as Korai went to his locker.
“She thinks she’s paying my fine and when I told her that I said I was paying it she said she didn’t have to listen to me! Can you believe that?” Korai whined as he tried to undo his lock, annoyed that it seemed to not be cooperating.
“Why don’t you just let her pay it? I mean, it would kinda be like having a sugar mama or something,” Romero laughed as Korai picked up a towel and threw it at the spiker. He finally got his locker open, grabbing his phone and wallet and heading out to the main office. He stomped his way there, approaching the office manager.
“Hello Mr. Hoshiumi, how can I assist you?” The manager said as he leaned on the desk.
“Yeah I got a fine to pay,” he said, shuffling through his wallet for his credit card.
“Oh yes, umm well Miss Yn just took care of that. She left you this note and said to give it to you when you showed up,” the manager said as Korai sighed heavily, annoyed that she had beat him to the punch.
“We’ll void hers and take mine,” he said, pushing his card into the managers direction. The managers eyes widened as they put their hands up in surrender.
“I-I’m sorry Mr. Hoshiumi, I can’t void the transaction once it’s processed,” the manager whispered.
“Korai leave them alone! It’s done, let it go!” Hirugami shouted as Korai growled in anger, grabbing the letter you had left.
He opened the letter and smiled-
Korai,
The main office was like 10 feet away from the coaches office. The minute you left, Coach showed me because Hirugami refused to be apart of your villain origin story. Anyways, I paid it and it’s taken care of. See you back at the hotel <3
xoxoxo
YN <3
Entering your shared hotel room, Korai heard the sound of running water coming from the bathroom as he quickly turned and locked the door. Practice had dragged on and he was exhausted. He had eventually gotten over the little stunt you pulled earlier and vowed to find some way to pay you back. The issue of having money wasn’t the problem, it was that he didn’t want you to pay the price for something you had no part in. He put his bag to the side, sighing as he walked in.
The entry way felt warm and moist, noting that there was fog building up on the small mirror in the hallway. The glass sliding door leading to the bathroom was open partially, leading him to assume that it hadn’t shut all the way. It was really in impractical door, no lock and only obscured by the frost color that covered it. Without thinking, he went to shut it, looking up out of habit. In that mere moment, his entire body went ridged, his mouth instantly going dry.
There you were , standing in the glass shower, fully naked as you washed your hair, the soap flowing down your perfect back to your unbelievable ass. His heart speed up as he continued to watch, knowing fully that his voyeurism was inappropriate but being unable to look away. Ge had never seen you naked before, having only explored your body under the cover of clothing. He was definitely kicking himself now for leaving you high and dray that day. He watched as you turned around, you hands still massaging your hair as Korai got his first glimpse of your gorgeous breasts and glorious pussy. He felt himself growing hard at the mere sight of your impeccable body as you hummed along to a tune he had absolutely no interest in remembering.
You picked up your soap and sponge, beginning to wash your body, bending over to get every single inch of silky skin. He gulped at the view of your ass bent over sending him spiraling into the thought of being able to drive his cock hard into your pussy from behind. You stood under the shower, rinsing your body off as your hands melted over every once of your flawless skin. You picked your hair up, ringing it out before clipping it up, showcasing your beautiful back, ass and those lucious, thick thighs. God what he wouldn’t do to camp between those thighs for hours, or better yet, have you sit in his face. If he died, he died. He would be fully ready to admit defeat if he could die by the hands of your fantastic thighs crushing his head. He was hard, so unbelievably hard from just those 3 minutes of bliss. He snapped from his thoughts as you turned the water off, grabbing a towel as he quickly walked away from the door, trying desperately to process what exactly just happened.
His mind filled with every possible thought of anything that could make him less hard, hoping go at least manage his problem until he could get into the shower. The problem was that everything he thought of somehow got turned back into your sexy form. Hell even thinking about the disgusting Adlers locker room had him thinking about fucking you against the lockers. God what was wrong with him?!? He jumped when he heard your voice, turning his head as his eyes widened again.
“Hey how was practice?” You asked standing in your hotel towel, the length barely covering your body fully as Korai stared. You’d never been fond of hotel towels before but right now, right now they were your best friend. You were drying your hair with another towel as you watched him, smirking a little at how flustered he was. His face was red and he uncomfortably shifted his shorts, trying to make room for the growing erection.
“Hey are you ok?” You prompted as he shot up, fumbling over his words, doing everything he could to avoid looking at you.
“uhh yeah sorry just a long day. You know, volleyball and stuff. Lots of boobs- BALLS falling all over the gym and stuff, ” he squeaked out as you giggled at his beet red face.
“Oh? Sounds pretty stressful,” you smirked as he turned to head to the shower. He walked past you as you stuck your arm out, stopping his movements as he looked over at you, his eyes locking on yours as a bead of sweat drifted down his brow.
“You were just acting funny, almost like you seen me naked of something?” Smiling and winking at him, you made you way to your clothes, his face heating with embarrassment as be booked it towards the bathroom.
Once in the bathroom, he sighed, his hands on the counter leaning in as he looked into the mirror. It was obvious that you knew exactly how much you affected him and he was sick of constantly holding himself back.
“Oh two can definitely play this game” he thought, smirking to himself as he began to undress, turning the shower on and heading in. He had no idea how you had seen him or even if you had seen him but he sure wasn’t going to let you get off that easy. He had purposely left the door open, just a cracked like he assumed you had, only this time he was going to flip the tables.
You sat in your tank top and shorts, brushing through your hair when you heard it. At first, you weren’t exactly sure what it was but then, you heard it again.
Korai was moaning in the shower.
You shot out of the chair, trying hard to figure out what to do. You can’t say you had really planned to leave the shower door open for Korai to see in but you also just happened to plan your shower for exactly the time he would be coming home. You knew he’d see you and that it would probably affect him, but leaving the door open for you to hear him? What a dirty trick!
The idea of Korai being into both exhibitionism and voyeurism was almost too much to bare. You could feel you body begin to heat up, the wetness growing in your panties as you slowly crept towards the slightly askew glass door. The idea of glass bathroom does was rather weird, at first but now? Now it was opening a portal to view the Greek god that was Korai Hoshiumi.
You knew Korai was hot. Anyone with eyes could see that. Having seen him several times without his shirt and in his low slung gym shorts or sweatpants had been the literal highlight of your entire day. You could almost paint a picture from memory based on all the times you’d watch his hot ass walk around shirtless. In fact, it took almost a full day before you could actually meet his eyes after viewing his gorgeous chest.
However you weren’t prepared for the literal perfection that was Korai Hoshiumi standing before you. His body was lean and muscular, his ass firm but round. The man looked like he belonged in a museum in Rome, like a sculpture come to life. His white hair wet and laying in his face as he braced himself against the tiles. You could see his strong, muscular hand bracing in the wall as you felt your panties growing wetter from the mere sight of him. His hand flexing as you imagined him digging it into your plush thighs, ass and stomach, imagining the bruises that each finger would leave on your supple skin.
His Abs flexing as he slowly moved his hand up and down his thick shaft, his movements absolutely breathtaking. He continued to stroke himself as his mouth fell slack, his eyes squeezing tighter as he sped up his fast movements. The thought of him fucking you in the shower sending pulses of pleasure to your core as you felt yourself growing more and more turned on. You subconsciously moved your thighs, rubbing them together as you desperately tried to persuade yourself not to reach down and finger yourself right then and there to his motions.
He pumped his hand faster as you felt yourself biting your lip at the thought of his cock deep inside of you. He groaned, his head falling back as he released his load all over the side of the shower, his body heaving as you stood watching. The sight of his beautiful, orgasmic face sending pulses through your core. He turned around, head falling under the spray as you watched his back muscles ripple from his arms combing thought his hair. He hit the water off as you quickly ran back into the main room, grabbing your phone and sitting down. You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, trying to get whatever friction you could to release some of the build up pressure that was growing. You felt the wetness seeping into your cotton undies as you mentally cursed yourself, figuring out a way to change them without Korai noticing. Surly you running to the bathroom right after he had jerked off wouldn’t be suspicious right?
You heard the door slide open as Korai appeared, towel wrapped around his waist as he loomed over at you. The towel for him much better than it did you but still, thank god for those flimsy towels. You continued to look down, ignoring him. There was no way you could meet his face right now. He smirked as he grabbed his gym shorts and went back into the bathroom to change, re-emerging to find you digging in your bag on the floor.
Your ass was up in the air as you looked deep in your tote for something. Korai groaned as your shorts rode up, your ass hanging out the bottom as Korai shamelessly stared. All the times things have started and been interrupted flood to his brain. He could have been fucking you for days now if the entire world hadn’t been against him. You finally found what you were looking for as you turned around holding a compact as you're eyes met his. Those same sweet doe eyes that he craved to look into while he fucked your throat or to watch roll back into that pretty head as he rubbed your clit and fucked you into the mattress. The vision of you moaning his name loudly was finally what set him over the edge.
“Man fuck this!” Korai growled, reaching you in three strides as he grabbed you and slammed his lips against yours. You moaned at the contact on his big arms against your soft skin, his arms holding tight around you as yours went to his neck. You deepened the kiss, pulling your tall body against his as his hands began to sink into your lush flesh. He massaged it gently, pulling moans from you as he quickly slipped his tongue into your mouth, teeth knocking as you hurriedly rubbed against each other. This wasn’t like the other times, this was more passionate and hurried, the desperation from the tension of the past few days finally boiling over.
He pulled you forward, a squeak emerging from your mouth as his tongue massaged yours pulling another moan from you, your tongues battling for dominance. You body heated as his grip tightened on you, pulling you close as you felt his erection probing you. Your breast pushing into him, your hardened nipples poking through your tank top and hitting his chest.
One of his hands palmed your ass as he groaned, you hand tugging his hair a little as your lips settled, moving effortlessly together. He pulled off, kissing down your neck as your head feel back, exposing more flesh for him to consume. His cock was so incredibly hard and he couldn’t take it anymore, he needed to take care of this and take care of you now.
“Fuck angel,” he moaned kissing, sucking and licking your skin as he continued to grope your ass, pulling your pelvis into meet his. If you tried hard enough, you could probably cum just from the friction alone. It had only been a day since you’d actually touched yourself but with Korai in your presence, your sex drive had definitively increased.
“Korai you feel so good. I-I really need you!” you cried as he continued to assault your neck and chest.
“You saw me jerking off didn’t you baby? Saw how hard you make me. God I can’t stop thinking about fucking you,” he whispered into your ear as you moaned and ground harder into him. He sucked hard at the base of your neck as you called out in pleasure.
“I watched you in the shower and god baby, you’re fucking incredible. Literally the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”
The confession made you grind harder into him pulling a hiss from him as his hands moved under your ass, heaving you into the air as he headed towards the bed. He laid you down, his lips reattaching to yours as he crawled on top of you, hands searching for any bare skin he could find.
“Korai please don’t stop, I can already feel that I’m close,” you moaned as the kiss broke and his eyes met yours.
“Where do you want me YN? I want to feel what I do to you,” He panted heavily as you heaved, your pupils fully dilated and filled with lust.
“I want-”
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
“What in the actual fuck!” Korai shouted as he stayed on top of you. He rose up a little and continued to shout.
“Get lost!”
A voice shouted angerly from behind the door as you recognized the tone immediately.
“That’s Michael,” you panted as Korai gritted his teeth, rolling off the bed.
“Stay right there YN! Don’t you dare move!” he growled at you as you stayed put, Korai heading the door and yanking it open.
“What in the absolute FUCK do you want?” he spat out as Michael scowled at him.
“Move, I need to speak with YN now!” Michael scoffed as Korai blocked his entrance with his body, arms crossed and flared boring holes into the idiot that you called a manager.
“Dude do you not understand the meaning of the term ‘no’? Seems like you should pick up a dictionary on your way out!” Korai shouted as you sat up from the bed, slowly getting up to listen.
“I don’t have to listen to miscreants lile you Mr. Hoshiumi,” Michael spat “and while we are at it, may I ask where you shirt is?”
You came up behind Korai, putting your hands on his back and stomach as he swung his arm around you possessively.
“YN what the hell are you doing?” Michael said, shocked at your display of affection towards Korai.
“Michael, you told me Tuesday, its Friday. I still have a few days off! And by the way, I know about you reporting Korai! How could you?!?”
Michael glared at you both, his eyes focused on Korai’s arm around your waist.
“I just came to tell you that tomorrow night you will be expected at a fashion show. Balenciaga’s new collection is dropping and they requested you be there!” he cheered, completely ignoring you as you stared dumbfounded at him.
“I’m going to Korai’s game tomorrow night,” you said as Korai stood up straighter, chest filling with pride.
Michael’s eyes narrowed, a scowl crossing his face as he glared at you, “I warned you YN, I warned you about men like this! You never ever listen do you?” His face grew closer to you as you slowly moved back, Korai moving in front of you to block an advancing Michael.
“One more move and you won’t be attending fashion shows ever again!” Korai growled as Michael curled his lip.
“Throwing your career away from this YN?” Michael said snapping at you, “this man who only wants you for your pussy and ass? Hell he probably wants to film you two having sex and then sell it to the media! He’s going to ruin you YN!”
“Shut the fuck up!” Korai shouted, lunging forward as you grabbed him, pulling him back as you calmly placed yourself in between the two squabbling men.
“I’m going to Korai's game Michael, now please leave! I’m done talking about this!” you said, tears filling your eyes as Michael glared at you before turning and leaving your room, the door slamming behind him.
“Fucking prick! God I hate that asshole!” Korai growled as you locked the door again, turning to see him sitting on the edge of the bed, arms on his thighs, head hanging low.
“I’m sorry about him Korai,” you whispered, hugging yourself as tears began to fall down your cheeks. This was all your fault, this whole mess was entirely your doing. Korai looked over, standing and grabbing his shit.
“YN I can’t keep doing this. I can’t keep pretending any of this is ok. The way he treats you, the way he treats me! Fuck YN I- I FUCK!” He shouted, as you flinched stepping back as he grabbed his hoes and his bag.
“Korai-”
“I’m leaving YN, don’t wait up,” he said, unlocking the door and walking out, leaving you shattered in his wake.

Being their pregnant partner
Featuring Hinata, Kageyama and
Hoshiumi
Tumblr media
Hinata Shoyo x Pregnant Reader; Kageyama Tobio x Pregnant Reader; Hoshiumi Korai x Pregnant Reader
Warnings: Fluff
AN: I guess I’m continuing this series 😌
Hinata
“Babe I’m home!” Hinata called throughout your beach house. Moving to the beach was something he’d always wanted to do and moving back to Brazil provided him with the opportunity.
“Oh great, can you help me get my back?” You asked, appearing from behind the door, swimsuit on and sunscreen in hand.
“Uhh babe what are you planning to do? Go swimming?” Hinata questioned, taking the sunscreen from your hands and rubbing it in your back as you continued to rub it into your growing belly.
“Nope, I was thinking we could play some volleyball! It’s been so long and I know you are just aching to get back on the sand babe,” you confessed as your husband stared blankly at you.
“Umm sweetie, I’d love to play volleyball with you but umm, can you even play in your condition?” He questioned, ripping off his shirt and preparing to head to the beach.
You giggled, “well actually I was thinking more like you play volleyball and I lay on the beach. How does that sound?”
Hinata smiled before kissing your forehead and grabbing your hand, practically dragging you the beach.
Kageyama
“YN what the hell are you doing??” Kageyama shouted, quickly running to grab the ladder that held a very pregnant you on it.
“Tobio what is wrong with you? I’m just changing a lightbulb. It’s not like there’s a fire, calm down!” You scolded, climbing carefully down the ladder as Kageyama tried desperately not to get angry.
“I told you I would change it tonight Yn, why couldn’t you just wait?” He asked calmly as you glared at him.
“Well for your information, I was trying to be a good spouse and help you out. I figured you’d be tired and I didn’t think you’d freak out because I used a ladder one stinking time Tobio!”
Kageyama sighed. He knew you were only trying to help but how could he get it through your mind that he only wanted you to be safe and not get hurt.
“I appreciate it Yn but please wait for me next time ok? You’re really pregnant right now and the last thing I want is for your or our baby to get hurt ok?”
You nodded, admitting the stubborn man in front of you was correct.
“Ok fine but I still get to climb the ladder and you hold it!”
Kageyama laughed, “deal!”
Hoshiumi
“Mmm something smells amazing babe!” Hoshiumi declared as he walked into the kitchen, noticing pots and pans askew aa you hurried around cooking.
“Hey love! Just thought I’d make something special for the most amazing husband and father to be ever,” you grinned as Hoshiumi smiled, kissing your cheek and rubbing your pregnant belly.
As he sat down to eat he realized that this wasn’t an ordinary meal, nope. This meal contained his favorite plum flavored snack crackers. He stared at the crackers and back to you, his eyes now narrowing.
“Ok what did ya do?” Hoshiumi asked as you stood there, a fake look of stunned offense in your face as you ignored your husbands questions.
“What do you mean? Can’t I make a meal for my favorite husband ever?” You questioned as Hoshiumi remained skeptical.
“Well I guess, it’s just that the last time you did this, you told me you were pregnant so obviously I’m a bit nervous Yn.”
You waved your husband off, “well I can’t possibly be pregnant again if I’m already pregnant can I?”
“I guess not,” Hoshiumi responded, resigning himself to finally enjoying the food you’d prepared.
“I mean it’s not like I bought a super expensive baby stroller that you told me I shouldn’t buy but I ignored you anyways,” you smiled as Hoshiumi glared at you, food halfway to his mouth.
“See I knew you couldn’t be trusted!”

Tumblr media
Korai emitted a soft plea as you tenderly traced your fingers along his torso, beneath his shirt, exploring his sensitive skin. In response, he naturally leaned into you, his hips brushing against yours, as the magnetic pull of your wandering hands making his body tingle.
“Such a good boy.. for me hmm?” You whispered into his ear, gently nibbling on it, causing him to tremble once more.
Eagerly, he nodded, his ears flushing with warmth from your affectionate words. He had never been so close to someone like this before, and he didn’t understand how good it felt. Often distracted by volleyball, he often neglected his need for sexual release. Presently, he was on the verge of that release, as he felt your thigh softly press against his throbbing erection.
"P-please," he whispered, his customary self-assurance and pride vanishing. Your smirk brushed against his neck's delicate skin, and you gently drew away to make eye contact with him.
“Please what sweetie?” you inquired, tilting your head slightly, acting utterly clueless about his needs in that moment.
A lump formed in his throat, and he instinctively pressed his hips against your leg, yearning for you to assertively take control. He sought the comfort of your touch, craving the pleasure that would erase all thoughts from his mind.
“ Y’know…” He glanced at the visible sign of his desire in his sweats, then returned his gaze to you, timidly awaiting your understanding and response.
“Tell me what you want me to do, or I can’t make you feel good.” You coo’d, before you tenderly placed your hands on his hips, feeling the bones beneath your touch. His breath caught in his throat, his bottom lip quivering as he let out a timid whimper.
"Please, touch my c-cock," he pleaded with evident need, causing you to suppress a giggle. Your expression transformed into a slightly mischievous grin as you reached for his waistband with gentle fingers.
“That’s all I wanted to hear sweetie.” You murmured, as you promptly lowered his pants and underwear, revealing his erect member which made a lewd slapping sound as it struck his abdomen.
He emitted a soft whimper, instinctively lifting his hips. You gently encircled the base of his penis, taking a moment to appreciate its paleness, considerable girth, and the pretty pink tip, adorned with a prominent vein running along its side.
He was practically falling apart under your gaze, and it didn't help when you lowered your head, licking your lips before pressing kisses all over his sensitive head. Making him squirm and cry out helplessly, it didn’t help when your free hand danced along his exposed hips.
He emitted a considerable moan, his head falling back onto the pillow. Nevertheless, he promptly lifted it upon hearing the sound of a bottle cap being opened and a soothing liquid trickling along the length of his member.
Attempting to sway his hips, he encountered resistance as you settled onto his thighs. You’re coo’d at his helpless response. With gentle care, you employed one hand to distribute the lubricant evenly across his length.
“You look so pretty for me baby. I wish you could see yourself right now.” You complimented, causing blood to rush to his member, resulting in a noticeable throbbing within your grasp.
He tried to respond, yet the skillful maneuvers of your wrists restricted him to mere whimpers and pleas, which you couldn't help but chuckle at.
“ I think i’m abo-about to cum.. gunna cum for you [name].” he panted, his back naturally arching from the pleasure. Your eyes finally met his half-lidded ones, and fuck did he look cute with drool leaking from his mouth and cheeks a helpless shade of red. You could feel your core heating up at his disheveled state making it all the more intoxicating.
“Go ahead Korai, you’ve done so well for me, my sweet boy.” you purred, making his mind all the more hazy.
With a loud "Ah!", a white, creamy, liquid oozed from his tip, accompanying your consistent rhythm.
“can’t stop!” He whined, thrusting his hips deeper into your firmly grasped hand. His cum continued to leak and spread, lubricating your hand and allowing you to maintain your motions.
Ultimately, he began to pull at your hand, indicating it was too much. His thighs quivered in tandem with his sniffles, a clear sign of heightened stimulation.

Hoshiumi was looking for the right entrance at nationals when he saw you for the first time. You were dashingly beautiful and looking frankly a bit lost. His stare shamelessly settled on you, already memorising your pretty features. Weirdly enough, they seemed somewhat familiar.
You must have felt the burning stare, eyes finally meeting his and just barely startling him. He opened his mouth, about to make some smart comment that would be one of his first attempts at flirting, but he wasn’t given the chance. “Hoshiumi Korai,” you said, crossing your arms. You were interesting and spoke confidently. He watched in awe as a small smile fell on your face. She knows me?
“Have we met?” he asked, sounding annoyed even if he didn’t mean to. He wished he knew your name too, if only so that you wouldn’t have the upper hand on the conversation.
“They say you’re the new little giant,” you say, stepping closer slowly and not exactly answering him. As you came closer, Korai could see that you were slightly taller than him.
“So you’re a fan.” he teased, raising his chin as if it made him taller.
“You might face Karasuno on the court soon, I’d rather you see me as competition,” you say, not backing up and sticking to your sweet, bordering on smug, smile.
“Karasuno… Then I look forward to beating you,” he said, already knowing that it was a match he was dying to play. No less now that the mystery girl was involved.
“Good luck.”
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Kamomedai defeated Karasuno after Hinata was benched with a fever. You almost felt out of breath watching Hoshiumi call out to Hinata that he would be waiting for him as the little tangerine was escorted off the court. Hoshiumi’s stature and voice had you wrapped around his finger from the sidelines.
Korai celebrated with his teammates after their win, and he was only spared a few three seconds to meet your eyes through the crowd before getting scooped up in celebrations again. You had more important things to do anyway, like support your younger brother through his first loss of the season.
You two didn’t see Hoshiumi much for your third year. You came to cheer for some of Tobio’s games when they got to nationals again and purposefully looked for the white-haired boy but didn’t find yourself lucky. Sometimes you wondered if he looked for you too and the two of you just missed each other. Then it was off to university, leaving that silly crush behind.
Tumblr media
Kageyama Tobio, your younger brother by one year, told you about Hoshiumi Korai when he went to the All-Japan training camp in his first year. You simply had to research this guy who thought he was all that. There wasn’t much to find, he didn’t enjoy interviews, but that’s how you knew his name when you two first met. Tobio had called you in the evening one day while at the camp, saying that some guys were trying to pick fights with him even though he couldn’t quite understand it. You adored your clueless brother and just told him to keep being himself and make the most out of his time there. His skillset would speak for itself. He eventually left the camp with a good experience and new inspiration, and you welcomed him home to hear him talk about what the floor was made of. However, your mind kept going back to this little guy with white hair that made Tobio think that Hinata could fly even higher. If you hadn’t been so distracted by that, maybe you would have noticed how bothered Tobio was with Atsumu’s comment about his playstyle.
Tumblr media
When said dear little brother got accepted to join the Schweiden Adlers, you were thrilled! Not just because it was a team you used to watch on television, but because that also happened to be where Hoshiumi ended up. Call it silly, but your little crush on him hadn’t exactly worn off as he just got a bit taller and more handsome every year. He was eventually forced to start doing some interviews, and who could blame you for watching them? It’s not fan behaviour, you just.. like.. him?
It might be impossible to believe, but you finally met him again without meaning to. You barely let Tobio open his front door before pushing your way inside, a huge bowl of food that your older sister made you bring from her place settled in your arms. “Tobio, hii. Miwa told me to bring you some food so I’ll just stuff this in the fridge,” you rambled as you toed off your shoes and strolled into his living room. “Oh.. sorry…”
There sat Tobio’s new friends, Hoshiumi and Ushijima. Your brother came up beside you and complained about you just walking in as if you lived in his apartment, so you fired back by complaining about his ungratefulness. Poor visitors didn’t know what they should do and ended up just awkwardly waiting for you two to stop bickering. Ushiwaka tried to share a look with Hoshiumi, but the shorter man was stuck looking at you with his mouth slightly open in awe.
“Well if it isn’t my greatest competitor.” he interrupted, leaning forward in his seat with an incredibly charming, lop-sided grin.
And as you and Kageyama both faced him with incredulous looks that were nearly identical, it clicked. They’re siblings. Tobio had no idea what his teammate was talking about, but you finally fell into a smile at the fond memory, tucking some hair behind your ear. “Little giant, you remember me?”
“How could I forget that sweet look of defeat when we beat you.” he countered, standing up even though there was a whole coffee table between you two. Let’s just say he never worked on his flirting techniques as much as his volleyball techniques. Kageyama watched with a frown but didn’t want to interrupt Korai.
You handed the food over to your brother before rolling up your sleeves like you were squaring up, squinting at the white-haired man for a moment before acknowledging the other one as well. “Sorry, hi. Kageyama y/n, nice to finally meet you,” you said calmly, bowing to Ushiwaka who sharply bowed back with a short answer of his name and a greeting.
Tobio walked to the kitchen to put away the food while you turned your attention back to the shortest man. Hoshiumi hadn’t heard your name before, but now he quite liked it. Like he couldn’t wait for it to roll off his tongue.
“You should come to our game next week.” Hoshiumi blurted out confidently, sitting back down in his seat and glancing to his side where there was space for you to sit down. Not that he dared to ask if you were staying.
“Right, I brought your ticket,” Tobio mumbled, as if suddenly remembering that he had invited you to that one too. You were still quite interested in the sport, helping Tobio practice when you weren’t out with your own friends while growing up. “Here.”
“Thanks,” you said while putting your shoes back on. You playfully ruffled your brother’s hair before waving at the rest of the crowd, letting your eyes linger for a second longer on Korai. “I’ll be there as your fan this time, play well,” you said before leaving so none of the men could see the light blush that covered your cheeks. Hoshiumi was left feeling breathless from the interaction. When you know, you know.
The visit became rather short as you had to move on with other errands, but now you had something exciting to tell your friends while sitting down for coffee tomorrow.
Tumblr media
Game day arrived and you put on some of the Adlers merch that Tobio got you before heading to the stadium. You went with Hinata and the two of you enjoyed catching up in the best seats, ready for the teams to come out and play. You sent a couple of snaps of the crowd to your brother as well as a couple of selfies with his friend, hoping to hype him up and show him where your seats were. The number on your shirt said 16, which you just assumed was Tobio’s number since he was the one you should be cheering on, but Hinata had given it a curious look when he sat down. He didn’t know you were so close to Hoshiumi but he didn’t want to intrude and ask.
The game started and everyone around you quickly learnt that you and Hinata could make up a whole cheering squad on your own. Whenever there was anything you could react to, you two would be on your feet and cheering or booing the loudest out of everyone. After a particularly nice kill from Hoshiumi, set up by Tobio, you pointed to the white-haired man and yelled with joy. “Nice kill, little giant!”
Hoshiumi looked at you in surprised glee that suddenly turned into a shock that he had to quickly shake off so they could continue the game. His eyes had gone from your face down to your shirt before he quickly turned away, making you finally sit down and rethink your life choices.
“This is Hoshiumi’s number, huh?” you asked Hinata rhetorically, already feeling the embarrassment and planning out how to destroy the one who gave it to you. You finally noticed the number on the original owner’s shirt and covered your red face with your hands. Now you certainly looked like a fan.
Tumblr media
After the match, you and Hinata made your way down and to the back, showing VIP passes to the guards so you could wait in the closest hallway outside the locker rooms. The two of you had gotten into the hype again after your embarrassment and were now on cloud nine after the win. Both reenacting your favourite moments and talking over each other.
Hoshiumi found you very beautiful the first time you two crossed paths, and that never changed. He got so flustered seeing you with his number, but it also boosted his morale for sure. Tobio smirked sideways at him when they were changing, finding himself pretty clever. And it only got better when Ushijima got involved.
“Are you and Kageyama’s sister romantically involved, Hoshiumi?” he asked, ever so formal and making Kageyama crack up. The shortest boy was sputtering in disbelief, face tomato red.
“No! We’re not!” he denied as if the thought hadn’t crossed his mind. It had.
“Oh. Okay.”
Tumblr media
When they exited the locker rooms, Hoshiumi and Kageyama found you and Hinata outside, excitedly jumping around and not seeming to notice anyone outside your bubble. Hoshiumi felt this old pride bubble in his stomach, wondering how tall Hinata had gotten now and if you ever went to a black jackals game with his number on your shirt.
So he cleared his throat, making you quickly turn around, flustered by how you could suddenly see his face up close. He was thinking the same thing, and the other two guys were in disbelief at how neither of you decided to start the conversation.
“Nice jersey, y/n.” your brother teased childishly, making you move your stare to glare at him.
“You-“ you started saying before jumping at him and pulling his hair angrily. That was always the best way to get him to surrender his towering height so you could rub the top of his head until he gave up. The older sibling always wins.
“Let go! You said you were a fan so I got you his jersey!” he complained, embarrassed that some more teammates might see this. You did as he asked, dusting your hands off and stepping back beside Hinata. Hoshiumi found you entertaining and even chuckled a little, finally out of the stupor your pretty face left him in earlier.
“I am flattered,” Korai said, making you look back at him and trying to contain your blush. Now he’s all cocky about it, and you wish you didn’t find it so attractive. “Truly.”
“Careful or I’ll beat you up just the same,” you mumbled, biting back a smile. Now, you might think all Hoshiumi could see in that sentence was a challenge, but he was already trying to win another competition.
“I bet you’d look good doing that too,” he said cheekily, cheering on the inside when you turned away first and started walking towards the exit. That’s a win.
“Are we going out to eat or not?”
Tumblr media
After getting out into fresh air, you cooled off from your flustered state and fell into more normal conversation. The atmosphere was nice and mostly filled with friendly bickering, but only the two in question seemed to notice their eyes drifting to each other every so often when Hinata and Kageyama were busy yelling at each other.
The dinner was nice, like a group of friends who had very obvious, growing crushes on each other. You sat beside Hinata, across from Korai, and to say it annoyed Korai was an understatement. This was the one thing he absolutely wouldn’t lose to Hinata. He wanted his fingers to accidentally brush against your thigh.
So after everyone went their separate ways, he texted the orange-haired man. Something blunt along the lines of are you interested in Kageyama?
Shoyo: which one?
Korai stared at the message for a moment before chuckling. The girl?
Shoyo: not like you are;)
Korai put a thumbs-up reaction to the message, laughing to himself at how he didn’t even realise Hinata might have a thing for Tobio. Guess it’s a competition, first to ask their Kageyama out. This is just how his brain works.
Hoshiumi is sitting in front of the TV in his apartment and does what he finds to be the most tactical next step. He calls Hirugami and updates him on everything.
“Your heart skipped a beat? Who are you and what did you do to Korai?”
“Shut up,” he said, clearly not angry at all but rather embarrassed that his best friend was calling him out on his uncharacteristic heart palpitations. “It’s so weird, I even imagined her meeting my mom. And you. You’d get along, I bet. She’s like me but sweeter.”
“That’s exactly what I always thought you were missing. A little sweetness.” Hirugami said. It was very clearly supposed to be teasing but Korai got a little stuck on it, a small dazed smile falling on his face as he thought about you rambling on by the dinner table earlier. He looked around his relatively boring apartment, at how there was perfect space for another person cuddled up to his side on the couch. “Korai?”
“Sorry. I just think you had a point,” he admitted. “I have her number now, is it rude to ask her out over text?”
Hoshiumi stared at the message he wanted to send you and for the first time in a long while, he felt a little extra insecure. What if you didn’t actually like him? You could probably get someone like Ushijima. Someone taller.
No. He will be whatever he needs to be to deserve your attention. If only he knew he already was the object of all your desires.
Just like the first time you met, you got ahead of him. He saw your name pop up on his screen and he let out an audible gasp. You played really well today, I was proud to wear your number:)
Korai wrote and rewrote about ten different responses, even requesting some help from his aforementioned friend. Thank you! I appreciated seeing you there.
It was a stale and basic answer and made him subconsciously bite at the tip of his fingernail as he watched your chat. He should have said you looked good in it or something, damn it. Nonetheless, you didn’t disappoint. Would you like to call? I’m bored.
And so he spent the rest of the evening listening to you talk and laughing with you. He moved around his apartment, played with a volleyball he had lying around and held the weirdest poses on the sofa because all his attention was on your voice. By the time you hesitantly thanked each other for the time spent, it was the middle of the night and he didn’t have any other choice but to go to sleep if he wanted to make it to practice in the morning. As he tossed and turned in his bed that night, he couldn’t stop berating himself for not securing a date.
Instead, you and Hoshiumi got into the habit of calling each other almost every evening. It made him happy and built up his confidence enough that he eventually dared ask if he could take you out, just the two of you.
Your first date was fantastic. He took you to play laser tag and the other teams didn’t stand a chance against the two of you. After getting the gear off, you were laughing on your way out and he led you to a restaurant close by. Well planned, of course. You shared two different dishes and it really just felt like you were catching up on years of not being friends.
And what better way to finish catching up on your friendship than ending said friendship with a sweet kiss?

It started when you and Kourai were kindergarteners watching the old boxy television, sitting on their living room sofa with no choice but to watch the Christmas theme commercials that got really, really boring after the 100th time and more. You don’t even remember what show you were waiting for, but there was one commercial that caught your attention. Recalling it now, it's all too hazy. No longer knowing how it started or what it was even advertising. All you remember was how it ended: the couple looked up and saw there were red berry decorations on the doorway they were under. They smiled at each other and confessed their love. Then, the guy kisses his girlfriend and she kisses back. They hug so sweetly that you remembered thinking it must be a very special kiss, but you don't know why.
From here, the memory was clearer. You said out loud, “I don't get it.”
“Me either,” Kourai complained too. When you looked at him, he seemed more baffled than you, making a repulsed face. You remember holding in a wheeze.
His mom chimed in, with a wide grin and spark in her eyes that made her look ten years younger. That smile stayed the same even when you two grew up.  She leaned over the sofa and said, “You see kids, the berries over their heads are called ‘mistletoes’. It's a Christmas tradition that you kiss the person you love when you stand under it.”
“Wah! Really?” You gasped, surprised that that was a thing adults do.
Kourai, on the other hand, didn’t have your enthusiasm. He made a face and stuck his tongue out. “Gross!”'
His mom only giggles, probably because of how different the reactions were. “You say that now, Kourai. But one day, you’ll wanna do that with your girlfriend too.”
He slammed his hands on the pillow sitting on his lap in retaliation. Cheeks red and round as the berries you saw on the commercial. “No way!!” he recklessly shouted and was so frustrated. His voice was so high back then.
She laughs this time, then she turns to you. “How about you, sweety? Would you wanna do that with your boyfriend?”
Looking back now, it was just a question meant to only tease you. The kind of question adults ask kids to mess with them or make light conversation. You took it seriously and stayed quiet to think of your answer. Do you want to do that when you grow up, you asked yourself.
What your little self’s thought process was has been lost to your age. You recall telling Kourai’s mom, “I guess I’d like too…?” coming off strong then faltering in the end. This time, she giggled. You felt a little confused as to why. But it was likely because of your confidence to say an unsure answer. After she was done letting her giggling out of her belly, she looked at you and patted your head.
“Well, I hope you find a special someone you really, really like to do that,” she said. These words would stay with you. Even your silly little kid brain figured out that she meant it.
Earnestly, you said, “Yes ma’am!” with the enthusiasm a child puts on to appease the adults around them. Her smile softened and she turned to Kourai, who was still pouting. Reaching out a hand, she patted and combed through his short, white hair.
“You too, Kourai,” she said sweetly to him. He crossed his arms as he turned away from you and his mom.
“Kissing is gross!” He loudly stated with firmness as if it was completely true and new to himself. She only rubbed his head harder while she began to laugh again, commenting on how he’d understand when he got older. Grown ups say that a lot, you thought.
When the show you both wanted to watch finally aired, It was a fun time for you and Kourai. You were so noisy together as you watched, giggling and energetic, as children naturally. Then, as soon as the commercial break rolled in, so did the impatience and disappointed silence. But that one commercial was on again, so you take in everything you see like a sponge. Thanks to Kourai’s mom’s words, even well after that night and throughout the December of that year, you intently watched it. You did not change the channels when it was on, taking in as much detail your little self can comprehend, wondering why she wished that commercial for you.
•~•~•~•~•~•
Whenever you see those berries as decorations for the Christmas season, you still think of that kiss scene, imagining it from the Hoshiums’ old TV you one day never saw again after the summer of your first grade. It was replaced by a much better, cooler, and less bulkier, black TV.  So did their old sofa they weren’t in a hurry to replace. What those berries are you eventually learn more from shows, manga, and novels. Kourai’s mom was right, the rule is indeed to kiss the person next to you when standing under the plant. It is a very romantic thing to do, you gradually learned.
The magic of it did work on you a bit after a while, the more you saw it in the romances you read and watched. You have seen it done so well that it leaves an impression and also falls flat that the wonder lasts only for a few seconds, then feeling bored of it. Often, it is the latter. It became clear to you that the mistletoe was a cheap and easy trick to get two characters to kiss and confess, or kiss and create a misunderstanding, which were just confusing and a headache even for a kid like you then. Yet, you were still in awe of that one commercial you saw. It may have been your memories being cloudy and distant that gives it wonder, as nostalgia often does.
That was until you saw a drama on TV. A drama that moms love to watch and chat about, includes your own mother. You were in your first year of middle school when it was airing. Much like before, it was December and you were hanging out at Kourai’s place because you didn’t want to go home and get nagged to do homework just yet. You also haven’t been to his house for a while, after you and Korai went to different middle schools.
The two of you had no choice but to bear watching the drama since it was Kourai’s mom holding the remote even though she wasn’t there. She was in the kitchen preparing dinner, the TV acting as her radio. Manually changing the channels would have been a pointless endeavour as she could change it back easily. You remember loathing the idea of watching at the start of the episode, though you said nothing of it to not be impolite. Korai, on the other hand, knew better than to fight his mom over TV. As the minutes passed, you actually got invested in what was happening. From what you understood because of your own mother’s retellings of the episodes to you, during that time, the main couple have been sharing the same feelings for a while. A confession was always delayed because of their work, other characters getting in the way, more obstacles, and, from what younger you understood as ‘being very, very sad about themselves’. The episode that you two were watching was the one where they finally confessed.
What you remembered the most was the scene where they were at the cafe the leading lady worked at, no one else was there except for her and the male lead, waiting for her shift to end. Some chatting happens and they somehow wind up under a plant with white berries. AS you watched, you thought, why were they showing them? Those aren’t mistletoes. Your confusion was cut when the leads looked at each other, surprised, and he implied about the berries’ rule.
Then, what occurred had you entrance. Something about the way the characters stared at each other with pure longing. The male lead stood firm and cool yet his expression is of someone who might break apart from the weight of affection he carried. That very affection was seen through his intense gaze at the female lead, whose expression was at first bashful then changed to determined.  He pours his feelings out. You don’t recall any of his words. What’s clearest memory was the leading ladies expression you can now describe as being taken aback and slowly understanding his feelings rather than just her staring blankly at him. She cupped his cheeks, confessed to him.
Their foreheads touched, giggling together. They kissed and it didn’t look icky or weird. You can tell they are really in love.
“Waahh… Ha, ha AAAHHH~” you cheered for the two leads out of giddiness and laughed at yourself for suddenly being noisy after staying silent for so long. Kourai laughs at you too.
“Really? That's what gets you?”
“OH C’MON! IT’S CUTE!” you cried at him.
The laughing and wheezing was loud. Lucky for you, Korai's older brother wasn't there, otherwise it would have been more embarrassing. He would have used that to make fun of you two. From all your laughing, you weren’t quick to notice that his face was pink, slowly turning to cherry red. It was always funny how obvious it is with his white hair.
“LOOK AT YOU! YOU’RE BLUSHING TOO!” you teased, hand reached out to poke his cheek. “YOU’RE GETTING  CUTE TO! LIKE A BABY!”
Kourai swatted you but you still kept going. It was slowly turning into a one sided pillow fight. It then turned into a tickle fight. You won, getting the chance to both poke and pinch his face.
After you sighed to stop and all the giggles were out of your stomach, you said quietly, wishfully, “I wanna do that one day”. Instantly, you regretted saying out loud, praying that Kourai did hear a word of it. Thinking back now, you sounded like a hopeless romantic, even as a young teen.
“Don’t worry,” he said, a gentleness you never saw in him before. “You’ll find someone.”
You didn’t believe him. As if he cared for love and roses. Let alone his undeniable first love of volleyball. “Really?” asked, just because. Not expecting anything.
“Yeah,” he reassured you.
As you two kept watching the episode, you wondered why the berries weren’t red.
•~•~•~•~•~•
December was a week away when your class decided to decorate the classroom for the holidays after receiving the permission of your homeroom teacher. It started as a silly joke that the class representative acknowledged, then spiralled with everyone agreeing in the sentiment of ‘yeah, that would be fun. Why not do it?’
The room wasn’t getting a full blown makeover for the holiday spirit, otherwise you would all be trouble. The teachers only allowed small and light decorations. The ornaments were mostly arts and crafts, but some classmates were generous enough to bring actual Christmas decor.
The entire class set everything up during lunch. The more artistic ones lead the making of cutting out snowflakes and the drawing of Christmas related objects. Many others are on the duty of sticking them over the main chalkboard frame, windows and the chalkboard at the back.
You are in the group placing the thin garland over the frames of the doors and windows, unwinding and handing each piece to your friend standing on a chair.
“Hey,” Kourai greeted as he approached. Hirugami, your classmate and his teammate, right behind him. “Where were you?” sounding a bit upset at you in an almost childlike way.
“Now, now Kourai. you don’t have to be angry that she  wasn’t with us,” said Hirugami, entering your shared classroom.
“Sorry about that. As you can see, I’m busy,” you apologise, jiggling the garland around your arms.
He huffs in defeat. Then points out, “but you’ve been busy all week.”
“Cause I need to. Exams are coming.” you move to another classmate that called you to hand over another garland, Korai follows you from behind the open hall windows.
“What are you? Studying to get into college? We still have a year for that!”
“For our current classes, obviously.” you said, walking back to your friend to give out another one, still holding the conversation, then leaning a shoulder on the door. “Speaking of, you should be too. I don’t think I’ll be able to help you with English this weekend.”
Kourai grits his teeth in irritation that you’re right and being reminded of his request. His grades weren’t bad, but he did promise his mom that he’ll do better than his last English exam result.
“Heeey! look up top guys,” a classmate calls from the other side of the room. She and the others fondly snickering at you two to themselves. “You know the rules,” another chimes in, wagging his fingers to point something above your heads. Looking up, among the christmas decor hung on the door frame, there fake red berries attach to plastic jagged shape leaves, placed on the very centre.
Kourai yells,“OI!”, at them in frustration. And it shows, his face was turning red.  You, on the other hand, are cool headed. You can’t fall for a joke when they’re wrong.
“Funny. But, no. We won’t,” you said, rolling your eyes, still keeping your position leaning on the door frame. They playfully booed at you, saying ‘you're no fun’ and ‘lighten up’. Kourai is also fast to shut them down, shoulders tensing up and a foot already passing the doorway.
A classmate teases again. “Why? Too shy?” she said, smiling at you with mischievous glee.
You plainly state, “No. It's not even mistletoe”
“It's not?” she replied, genuinely surprised.
“Oh yeah?” another, too, in disbelief.
“For starters, those are fake holly berries.” You point to the berries, being fixed by your friend. “Not to mention the leaves are different. If you really want to argue with me I can tell you what these berries actually are.” seeing how you're so dedicated in educating them on the plant, they don’t argue.
But before they can tease anymore, the class rep enters and mistakes the scene as a quarrel. “Alright, stop fighting,” she calmly intervenes, though it wasn’t necessary. “Get back to work before our break time ends everyone.” And so they do, moving on to chatter on their own.
Kourai stays since she hasn’t asked him to leave. His attention returns to you, pouting a little. It might be because he didn’t get the chance to rebuttal them.
Curious, Kourai asks. “So, those… Those aren’t mistletoes?” Though the tension is gone, he is still a little flush on the face.
You shook your head. “The ones we hung look more like holly berries. They always get confused with mistletoes. Real mistletoes are smaller and white. Their leaves are rounder and closer to the size of the berries too.” you explained as you helped your friend down from the chair. She moves it back to its place and leaves you and Kourai be.
He only nods, looking up to the tangling berries over the door. Kourai’s face is still stained red even after he has already calmed down. He must have felt embarrassed about the idea of kissing a friend. “How’d you know?”
“I did some research. Who would have thought? ”
“mhmm”
As he stood still, out of the blue, like the words came out as he thought, he said, “do you still wanna do it one day?” His tone suddenly became serious.
You know what he meant by ‘it’. Hosently, you aren’t sure. Adults always say that not having a relationship in your highschool years was fine, but you could hardly believe it when you have friends gushing about their boyfriends and girlfriends to you. Classmates that have significant others inside the classroom. Somehow, you feel like you're not catching on. Yet, you don’t want to just find a boyfriend for the sake of not being single. You hate to admit it, but you do dream of actually falling in love and that it's like everything you’ve watched and read, even though you know that it won’t be.
Maybe, you can say it to Kourai. He is your friend after.
In soft confidence, staring at the shiny fake berries, you said, “yeah, I sure hope I get to.”
Then, the air was oddly empty between you two for a moment.
Kourai catches your attention by patting you behind the shoulder. “By the way, do you wanna walk to the station later, after my practice?”
You mentally go through all you should be doing today as your finger twiddle with the plastic leaves of the garland. You are staying a little later for a club meeting. If things go smoothly, it could be done early. However, it is likely that something might come up that might make you stay a little longer. Thinking that it has been a while since you walked with him to the station, you made your choice.
You smiled at him and said, “If our meeting ends early, I’ll wait outside the court.”
He smiles back. The flush on his face is no longer prominent but still present.
•~•~•~•~•~•
Already in your mid-twenties, yet your dream of kissing your beloved under a mistletoe still hasn't happened and is least likely to happen now. Nine months ago, your last boyfriend broke up with you. It wasn’t as bitter as it could have been but it still wounded your heart. You've cried out the initial hurt to your friends. Kourai was sadly the ears to hear all your woes and insecurities about it through the phone well after weeks from the split.
He says that it’s fine, but you think that you’ve shared too much of that badge and began being a bad friend. While he was telling you stories of how his games went and how silly his dog has been, most of your chatter was melodramatic ranting. Sometimes, you think he was being too nice. So you tell him you’d buy him food the next time you hang out, as compensation. In the end, he still buys you extra afterwards, nulling your efforts somewhat.
After High school, Kourai went to play volleyball professionally and you are so happy for him. You still remembered when he told you he started playing for the volleyball club. Skip to now, it became his life and it shows. You used to be a little taller than him, but now, he has built up muscle that it’s hard to call him cute just to tease him anymore.
By December, the pain only lingered in the palette of your mood in moments you're not preoccupied. As you walk on the winter streets, you often notice the different couples spending their time together. Young couples in the honey phase of their relationship. Couples with their children, holding hands. Your brain automatically reminds you of your ex. It did make Christmas a little lonelier. It wasn’t enough to dampen you for too long, still able to pick yourself back up when you had a holiday bonus, along with nice gifts from friends.
When new years came, you spent it with your family. Thankfully, no one ever brought up nor questioned your relationship status, all in good part that you hadn't introduced him to your parents. Save for the one instant a niece asked if you spent Christmas with your boyfriend too. The ‘too’ gave you a hint that she may have been using another taken relative, likely a girl cousin similar to your age, as a frame of reference and applying it to you. Not wanting to tarnish her early views of love or view of you, you simply admit that you are single, nothing more. Blunt as children are, she frowned and said “that's just sad.” and it hurt how genuine she sounded.
It’s the second week of January and you don’t plan on keeping the Christmas decor in your apartment any day longer. The Holiday season has stayed long enough in your home and it's becoming an eyesore as February approaches. You have spent the past hour packing up everything. Though it wasn’t much, you weren’t in a hurry. Otherwise you’d have tired yourself out on a weekend. Another reason is because the ladder makes too much noise when you place it on the ground. It’s a hassle and you take in consideration the neighbours below you.
Right now, you're in the process of taking down the decorations on the walls and changing the curtains. First the garlands, then the red curtains. You forget how heavy they are.
As you tug the cloth down its pole, there’s knocking on the front door.
You weren’t expecting packages this week and that wasn’t any knock you were familiar with.
You step down the ladder carefully, then rush to the door. Peaking through the small hole, He may not be facing the door completely and he has a cap on his head, but you know that side profile anyware. It’s Kourai, on his phone on one hand.
Though excited, you hastily padded away dust and smoothed folds on your shirt, trying to appear a little well kept even in your indoor clothes. The moment the door is fully opened, you greet him a new year and rope Kourai into a tight hug. It was the first hug with him for the year and after not seeing him since he was busy with his games. He returns your enthusiasm with a squeeze.
“It's great to see you again,” you said, happy but clearly short in breath.
He chuckles, “You too.”
“Sorry about my place, you caught me in the middle of cleaning up,” you said as you poured him tea. He didn’t seem bothered by the mess of garlands on the floor and littered boxes of decor.
“Shouldn’t I be the one apologising? I showed up without telling you.”
“I do like surprises.”
You welcomed him in, carrying a large, red, paper bag on one hand. The conversation didn’t end and flowed like it’s only been a week since you last saw each other. ‘How are you?’, ‘how’s work?’, ‘how are your games?’ One question and another, answered and a little more. The usual banter, meandering to whatever comes up. It feels like nothing has changed between the two of you.
Maybe it was just the freshness of a new year, but you can’t help but reflect. You’ve gone through the holidays with Kourai since you were kids. He’s changed a lot and you have too. Yet, somehow, he wound up with a haircut that’s so much like the one he had as a kid.
“Do you need help with all this?” Kourai asks, gesturing to your living room.
You raised a brow, “are you sure? You're visiting me. It’s not a fun visit if you're breaking a sweat.”
“Don’t be shy. I know you want to get this done fast.”
And he is right.
So, he helps out. Starting with lending his hand in getting the curtains down. In just a few minutes, the Christmas tree was down and two boxes were sealed. He then helps in moving the ladder to the hallway. You begin to take down the hanging decor on the garland with full confidence to use both of your hands now with Kourai holding the ladder for you.
“You actually hanged mistletoes, huh?” he suddenly mentions, switching the conversation topic. Prioritizing packing up had you failed to realise that was the decor you were holding. The wire is so tangled you couldn’t undo it quickly, so you move to the plastic snowflakes. Handing them down to him.
You hum in agreement. “It would be such a shame for a cute ornament to not be used, don’t you think? I’d have to wait another year!”
He laughs with you at your point.
“Did you ever get to kiss anyone under that?” he asked casually, jokingly even.
Through an unintentionally deep sigh, you said, “no”. Your disappointment shows just a little. “Last christmas, he wasn’t around because of work out of town. I guess it was a good thing that it didn’t happen. It would have ruined mistletoes for me.”
Kourai was quiet for a little while. He may have thought that the topic was a sore spot for you. So you tell him that it is nothing to worry about. you raised your hands to the mistletoes again, putting your full attention to undoing its wire. As you twist and bend it, Kourai snaps your focus with one question.
“Do you wanna do it right now?”
His shift in tone surprised you. Not wanting to assume. You ask.
“Come again?”
“Do you wanna do it right now?” He repeats. “Make your wish come true?
It catches you off guard. Quickly letting go of the mistletoe and bracing yourself to the ladder, you turn to him, looking down from your levelled height, searching for any hint that he was kidding. There isn’t. All you see is the determination that shines in his eyes you have known of him. It came with a tint of red spreading from his cheeks to the tips of his ears. To think he’d still remember that.
“You said you wanna do it with someone one day, right?”
Yes, you did. You said so back when you were in middle school. But that was a long time ago. Some middle school dreams were just not meant to be. From your speechlessness, anyone would have taken it back. He doubles down, calling you back to the present moment by saying your name like an endearment.
“I love you… and I really like you.”
It's like you're breathless again. All too quickly, you want to believe again. You have no idea how to process this.
“Kourai… you…”
Bursting into a laugh, you hold steady on the ladder. Not at him, of course. It seems to ease him a little from how his face softens. For a second, you saw the little Kourai again.
“Is this really how you confess to people?” you jokes and he chuckles too.
“I want to give it a try. While there's still a chance,” He changes his grip on the ladder. “You don’t need to say yes to anything that I said. Just letting you know”
You felt it, that he put everything on the line. More than a decade of friendship. A friendship so long that you can see it in him that it's true. He loves you and it warms you like a scarf around the neck. However, knowing that he likes you too, It’s so easy for you to like him back. In fact, you may have begun to like him a long while ago. If anything, it felt right to just say ‘yes’.
Yet, happiness came with fear.
With a gentle voice, you ask, “this won’t change much between us, right?”
Sensing your doubts, he reassures you, “I’ll love you no matter what.”
You might as well have fallen off the ladder.
As you try to lean forward to get a little closer, with a smile, truthfully, you said, “Yes. I love you too, Kourai. And I’d like to date you.” Everything now is clear as snow.
He takes a little gasp of air like taking in your answer. One sigh leads to a chuckle. If he wasn’t holding the ladder, he would have hugged you then and there.
Breathy, he said, “okay.” Pure joy seeping out.
Life feels as if it changed so much and yet things were all the same. Old things turning to something new.
Kourai looks up above you again. You mirror him. The mistletoes still hanging.
“Do you still wanna do it?” he said. When you looked back down on him, a fresh grin is on his face.
Without question you, you nod. That’s one way to properly start it all.
You take each step a little shakey on the knees. There’s one more step down, but the excitement and nervousness has you quickly wrap your arms over Kourai's shoulders, letting yourself lightly fall forward to kiss him before he could say another word. He catches you, wrapping his arms around your torso, holding you in place as he kisses you back. He lifts you off the last step, not letting your feet touch the floor.
It might as well be December again.
When he sets you down, the kiss ends too.
“So,” he started. The flushness on his face isn’t  as bad as it could be, just the right amount that made him look charming. “How was it?”
You brush back his white hair even though it's short.
“Better than I could’ve ever hoped for.”

Whenever he went to the store, ladies will stop on their tracks and look at him with heart on their eyes, they would gossip to eachother about how there’s this handsome man who always came into this store, some even build enough courage to went up to him and strike up a conversation, only to be severely disappointed when they saw the wedding band on his ring finger. It gets awkward for them when they see him again, this time with you by his side, your husband’s hand around your waist and what’s more? A 5 year old child sitting on his shoulder. Yeah, they’re too late, he’s off the market now.

Broken Pipes Masterlist
9AM, Saturday Morning
You shouldn’t have been surprised to have woken up alone but you were, the last words Korai spoke to you ringing excessively in your ears as you tried not to cry for the 100th time in the past 8 hours.
I can’t do this YN-
Don’t wait up.
The weight of his words rang heavy as you made your way to the bathroom, pulling our your skincare products. Looking up, you saw the reflection of a young, broken women who was heavily at risk for under eye bags if she didn’t get her shit together. Everywhere your eyes glazed in the bathroom, you saw reminders of Korai. The entire hotel smelled of him, his clothes and lack of self care product’s haphazardly left out. Picking up your toothbrush, you touched it to your lips before feeling the stinging of new tears forming. Everything hurt, everything felt wrong.
Picking up your items, you texted Kai that you were going to pass on coffee until later, opting to spend the morning packing instead. You’d text her the name of your new hotel and room number later. On a whim last night, during a major blubber fest, you scoured the internet for available hotel rooms. You found one located on the opposite side of the city that was relatively affordable yet still extremely nice. You booked it until Tuesday, figuring that it would give you a few extra days to figure out your next move. You couldn’t possibly stay here anymore, not with what transpired last night.
This was your worst fears coming to fruition, a cumulation of all the nasty thoughts you’d been having over the past several days. Thinking about it, it was really all the thoughts you’d had over the past few months of knowing Korai and feeling like there was no way you’d ever be good enough for him. You saw what you did to him, how you’d interrupted his life with your bullshit. All the words Michael had spoken to you in the past had come back, smacking you right in the face. It was all true, he spoke the truth and you were just too dumb to realize it.
The fantasy of being with Korai, of your situation had clouded your feelings for the spiker. Maybe you’d misinterpreted your entire relationship with him and all he really wanted was to get laid? Even thinking those words made you cringe, finding it extremely had to believe that someone like Korai would behave that way. You packed up your skincare, putting the bag into the duffle with all your clothes. You didn’t have much to move, remembering the horrific fact that you were still, indeed, homeless as well as without anything of stability holding you to the area. Your apartment was it for you, the peaceful retreat away from your hectic life. Maybe it was time you thought about furthering your modeling career? While it’s definitely not what you wanted, what else did you have? You had very few friends and family, no real need to stay in Japan. You could continue to grow your wealth, maybe even retire by the time you were thirty.
But then what???
You sighed as you thought back to the fantasy life you’d dreamed of with Korai. Dating, having fun, getting married and even having kids. It all seemed like a fictional novel you’d written as your dream life scenario at this point.
You sat at the table, taking out your notebook and beginning to write. You needed to leave something for Korai, something telling him that you were ok and that you’d decided it was time to get out of his hair. The note would serve as a final farewell, the closure to a chapter you’d never forget.
Dear Korai,
I just wanted to thank you for all you’ve done for me the last few days. I truly appreciate everything and you are really an amazing person. I’ve decided that it’s best if I find a new place to stay, someplace away from here. I’ve caused you enough trouble as is and I don’t want to cause you anymore. The last few days have been some of the best I’ve had in literal years and I don’t think I’ll truly ever be able to pay you back for all the joy you’ve brought me. You made me feel good again, whole again.
Thank you for everything and good luck at your game ♥️
YN
A tear drop fell on the letter as you set it aside, putting your room key next to it. Standing up, you wiped your teary eyes and took a deep breath. Today was a new start, a moving on. You grabbed your bags, heading to the door before turning around one last time. The memories played in your mind like an animated movie, from the first day you realized you’d be bed-sharing to your first kiss. Everything seemed so real as you closed the door on one of the happiest times of your life.
Korai sighed as he made his way back to the hotel. He had cooled down, spending the night at the gym with his team and crashing at Kageyama’s to gather his thoughts. He hated leaving you but he couldn’t take it anymore, he could no longer deal with that fucking idiot you called a manager.
“There has to be something there,” Heiwajima said shaking his head, “that man treats YN like his cash cow. He must be making millions off of her.”
Korai gritted his teeth as he spiked the ball again, this time so hard this it flew into the rafters.
“You think maybe he’s exploiting her? I’m having a hard time believing a manager would be this obsessed with a girl if he wasn’t getting something from it,” Romero chimed in.
“How would we even find that out? We’d have to do digging of some kind,” Heiwajima responded as Hirugami looked at Korai.
“What if we hire a private investigator? You know, someone who’d be able to look into this creep.”
Korai stopped, thinking for a second before responding, “that’s not a bad idea actually. We could look into him and see what’s up. There’s just something about him and how he treats her. I’ve never ever seen a manager so obsessed.”
“It’s not like the guy would know someone’s following him or even checking into him. Most investigators are super inconspicuous and good at their jobs,” Hirugami added.
“I think I know a guy who might be able to help,” Romero blurted out, running to grab his phone as the guys began to talk out their plan of action.
Within a few hours, the team had a guy working on actively gathering information on Michael. He told the team that the case seemed pretty straightforward and he could easily dig up some information, maybe even having something within 24 to 48 hours. The guy was a friend and big fan of the Adlers, so court side seats and a bonus fee was all he needed to get working quickly. He assured Korai and the team that he’d find something, remarking that people like Michael often have something to hide.
The hotel felt cold, way colder than it had before. The buttons on the elevator cool to the touch as Korai ascended. The floor was quiet and every step he took felt heavy as he made his way back to your shared room.
He had made a plan, a plan he hoped would work. He wanted to get you out of modeling and away from that slime ball. He wanted to show you how much he cared and wanted to be with you. He knew leaving last night probably wasn’t the smartest move but he needed to gather his thoughts. After talking with his teammates and friends, he realized that his feelings for you were real and stronger than he originally thought. You weren’t merely a friend to him, you were a million times more and he wanted that. He wanted to be there for you, to support you and for you to support him. If that meant he’d have to put up with your dickhead of a manager for a little longer, he’d do it. He made the decision to be with you and he was going to tell you just that.
Korai felt confident as he pulled out his key, opening the door to complete silence. Stepping in he immediately noted something wasn’t right. The room felt empty, the traces of your perfume the only thing floating around the empty room.
“YN?” He called, closing the door and walking in to see the bed made and completely empty. His heart sank as he repeated “no no no” in his head a million times. His bag fell to the floor as he ran to the bathroom and flipped the lights on. Everything you had was gone.
“Shit SHIT!” He swore, running over to where your clothes had been and noticing the entirety of your wardrobe and items were missing. He scanned for anything you might have left as his eyes landed on the key and note. Picking it up, his breathing seemed to stop as he read the words you had written to him, his heart breaking.
You really thought this was all your fault. Everything that had happened, you had blamed on yourself. Korai’s eyes read and reread the letter hoping to find something that might point to where you were but there was nothing.
“Fuck!” He yelled as he raked his hands through his hair and called Hirugami.
“Hello?”
“Dude she’s gone! She’s fucking gone!” Korai shouted into the phone, his panicked voice ringing thought the thin walls of the hotel.
“Wait what? She’s gone gone? Like she packed up and left? Maybe she just stepped out for a minute or something?” He responded as Korai nodded, pacing around the room.
“She hasn’t left this room for days man! She left a note and fuck- she thinks she’s ruined my life. She thinks I’ll be better off without her! Fuck man what if something happened to her? What if that fucking asshole took her and forced her to write this note? Shit we have to call the police!” Korai shouted, practically wearing a hole on the floor pulling at his hair.
“Ok dude first off, calm down ok? We need to figure out where she’d go,” Hirugami said, trying to calm his friend down.
“Where would she go? Dude she’s fucking homeless! Where the hell else would she go?!”
“Ok well she can’t go back to your apartment, so maybe she went to another hotel? Can you call her?” He promoted as Korai quickly remembered he had your number. How stupid was he?
“I totally forgot I had her number dude! I’ll call her now!” Korai said, hanging up after promising to let Hirugami know what happened.
Korai pulled his phone out, pulling up your number and dialing. It immediately went to voicemail, noting your cheery voice delivering the devastating news that you were available.
“Fuck fuck!” Korai shouted before another idea popped into his head. He ran from the hotel room, choosing to race down the emergency stairwell to get to the front desk. Surely someone had seen you leave, someone had to have.
In the lobby, Korai ran to the desk as the lady stared at him in shock, “YN LN, she was sharing room 1516 with me and she might have checked out! Do you know where she went?”
The lady stared at Korai before turning back to her computer, “I’m sorry sir, I can’t give private information away about our clients.”
Korai was pissed as he growled, his eyes burning with flames, “she could be in danger and you’re telling me you won’t give me anything?!?”
The lady turned back to him, her eyes narrowing in his direction. “With all do respect sir, how do I know that you aren’t the one harming her? I can’t just give out information like that, the privacy of our clients is very important to us. I’m sorry but I’m unable to help you.”
Korai was angry but he couldn’t argue with the woman. It was her job after all, and he wasn’t really being the most rational. He slammed his hands on the marble before running out to the valet. If he had to, he’d drive to every single hotel in the country to find you.
“Ahh Mr. Hoshiumi, how are you?” The man at the valet asked as Korai handed him his cars ticket.
“Not great, I’m kinda in a hurry right now.”
“I saw Miss YN leave earlier in a Taxi. I asked her if she was going to meet you but she said she was checking out. She looked tired and like she had been crying so I didn’t ask her anything more,” the man said as Korai’s eyes widened.
“Do you know where she went? I have to find her!”
“I don’t personally know but one of the drivers from the taxi company we contract with took her. Actually, he’s right over there!” The man said pointing at a taxi as Korai’s head turned to see.
“Thank you! Thank you so much! Can you bring my car around please?” Korai said, quickly running over to the Taxi cab and pounding on the window as the taxi driver pulled his window down slightly.
“Can I help you?”
Korai pulled up a picture of you from instagram and turned it towards the man, “this woman, where did you take her?”
The driver studied the picture before his eyes widened in realization, “oh yes! Miss YN. I took her to a hotel on the other side of town, the Gardens or Garden of something. Poor thing was trying to hold her tears in the whole ride.”
Korai’s breathing picked up as he thanks the driver and ran back to his car, jumping in and taking off. His mind was racing and his chest was heavy with guilt. If anything, all of this was his fault. His fault for leaving you last night, his fault for not telling you his feelings. He had to tell you everything, he had to come clean.
His phone sounded through the car as he accepted the call from Kageyama.
“Hey man, did you find her?”
“Yeah I’m on my way to get her now. I’m sorry to do this man but I might be late for warmups. Can you cover for me for a bit?” Korai spoke as Kageyama laughed.
“Of course man, go get your girl ok? And bring her to the game!”
A small smile creasted across Korai’s face as he raced to the hotel, avoiding as much traffic as he could. The hotel you were staying at The Gardens Regis wasn’t as fancy as the other place but it was still nothing to sneeze at. Korai pulled up the valet, quickly jumping out and tossing his keys to the man, shouting his name and running thought the doors. The lobby wasn’t huge but it was still decked out, hints of gold and marble accents littering the area.
“Hello sir, how may I assist you?” A man asked as Korai ran to the reception desk.
“I’m looking for a Miss Yn Ln. I was told she checked in here,” Korai asked as the man began to type.
“Ahh yes Miss Ln is here.”
Korai let out a relieved breath as he bent over, his chest feeling relieved as he took a few deep breathes. You were safe.
“I need to know where she is.”
“I’m sorry sir I can’t give that information away,” the man said as Korai groaned. Of course they can’t.
“Listen dude, I know it’s your job and I’m not trying to be a jerk here but I need to find her now! And if you don’t want me knocking on every single fucking door in this hotel, I advise you tell me asap!”
“Im sorry sir but if you do that, I’ll have to have you removed from the premises,” the man responded, picking up the receiver and going to call what Korai assumed was Security.
“Fuck!” He shouted as he turned around, his hands on his hips and wracking his brain for an idea. Thankfully, someone was on his side as a small voice called to him.
“Mr. Hoshiumi?” Kai called as his head snapped to her, running to her quickly.
“Kai! Do you know which room Yn is in? Please I need to talk to her!”
“Oh of course! She’s in room 1203, it’s a suite,” she said as Korai smiled, grabbing your coffee and running to the elevators.
“Thank you Kai! I owe you so fucking much!!” He shouted, waving as he banged on the button and quickly entered the elevator, hitting the 12th floor.
“Come on come on!” He whispered as the elevator dinged and he ran to find room 1203. It was relatively easy to find, located at the end of the hallway away from the other rooms.
He approached, knocking as he waited to hear any sigh of movement. He heard you talking as the door clicked open.
“Hey Kai- wait, Korai? What- what are you doing here?” You asked, voice shaking as Korai stared at you.
“I came to find you and bring you back. YN , I-I fucked I’m so bad and I came to apologize. I read your note and I want you to know that none of this is your fault. If anything, it’s mine. I-I care about you Yn, a hell of a lot and I just hate how that man treats you,” he blabs as you stare at him, trying extremely hard not to cry. Your hands are shaking and you are close to utter failure as the tears crest.
“Korai I’m not good for you. I care about you so much, more than just a friend and I don’t want to hurt you anymore,” you cried, tears streaming down your face as Korai forced you in the room, setting your coffee down and hauling you into a hug.
“Sweetheart, you’ve been nothing BUT good for me! Everything you said, how you’ve been so happy these past few days has been the same for me. I’ve never been so happy YN. For a long time, all I thought I needed was volleyball but you- you’ve changed that for me. I don’t think I could stand be without you YN. When I read your note, my heart dropped. I hurt knowing you were hurting and knowing I caused it. I’m sorry for running, I’m sorry for fighting with your manager, I’m sorry for everything. Please, just please, come back with me?” He said, squeezing you tight as you held onto him, tears flowing as you cried hard into his shoulder. He caressed your back, head buried into your neck as he shushed you.
“Korai- what if? What if you regret this? I don’t know if I can do this if you tell me later on that this was all a mistake,” you said, pulling away as Korai met your eyes.
“YN, I’m pretty sure I’m in love with you,” he said as your eyes widened and met his, “actually no, I AM in love with you baby and if anything, I’d regret walking out that door and letting you go.”
You smiled at him, your tears flowing quickly as he pulled you into a sloppy and quick kiss, the emotions of the last few hours finally coming full circle. He pulled you close, your body molding with yours as his lips moved smoothly and effortlessly against yours. Pulling back, you looked at him, your foreheads falling together as your eyes closed.
“I love you too Korai,” you said as he beamed back, hauling you up and spinning you around as you squeaked with joy.
“Korai put me down! Don’t you have a match today?!” You said as Korai out you down, pulling you against him again as if something was threatening to tear you away forever.
“Kageyama is coving for me because I had to find you and he told me I had to bring you to the game.”
You laughed and nodded, pulling away from him as you made your way to your bag and dug for something. Korai watched you, his brow cocked as he wonder what you were doing. Suddenly you turned, a short, curve hugging black dress in your hand.
“I picked this up because I thought it would be cute,” you said, face turning a little red as Korai looked over the dress and back to your body. He sat down on the bed, observing you as you watched him in confusion, “korai are you ok?”
“Me? Yeah I’m fine just trying to logistically figure out how fast I can win this game so I can take you out and brag to everyone that you are mine.”
You giggled as Korai stood, coming over to you and placing a sweet peck on your lips. You felt so good, so right. You were everything he wanted and more, everything he dreamed of and you were all his.
*RING RING RING RING*
Korai looked at his phone, rolling his eyes as he looked to you. You nodded as he slip his finger across the screen and answered.
“Bro did you find her?” Hirugami shouted, his voice echoing from inside the locker room.
“Yeah I did. We will be heading to the stadium soon,” Korai answered as he head Hirugami shout that he had found you, inciting an all out riot in the locker room.
“That’s great man! The box is saved for her and there is some security guards that will meet you at the entrance,” Hirugami added as Korai nodded and bid his captain a farewell.
“Well I better get dressed,” you said, grabbing your dress, bra and panties. Thankfully, you had just washed and styled your hair, meaning it needed very little to make it perfect.
You began walking to the bathroom as Korai followed, stopping right outside as you went to shut the door.
“Hey whoa- don’t deprive me of this view please?” He said as you laughed, slowly shutting the door in his face.
“Sorry babe but you don’t get a peek before you unwrap this present.”

In the Midst of Uncertainty
Hoshiumi Korai x Reader
Quote: "Fall in love with someone you met." & "Fall in love with the idea of someone."
Someone You Loved
“What do you think of the ocean?” Hoshiumi asked, the back of his hand brushing up against yours.
“A desert,” you say, your eyes filled to the brim with wonder, “a blue desert.”
Hoshiumi felt a smile tug at the corners of his mouth. You’re in awe, that’s obvious, there seems to be something more. It’s almost as though you’re displaying a new emotion entirely. One that, until now, Hoshiumi has never seen before.
Is this moment really real?
It feels as though he could reach out and your visage would become nothing more than an illusion conjured up by his tired and restless mind.
He’s stuck within a moment of uncertainty. Unsure of whether to reach out to see if you’re really there or to just stand there watching you from a distance being forever unsure if this moment was illusion or reality.
Was this how you felt when you took photos of others? When you took photos of him?
Wanting to just capture the very essence of the subject but the feelings that this moment has invoked within you.
“Sir?” The woman standing in front of Hoshiumi waves a badge in front of his face.
Hoshiumi shoots her an apologetic smile, taking the badge quickly before walking into the room.
It feels… surreal to be here.
Truthfully, Hoshiumi had imagined this moment many times before. Standing among his friends and peers as more than they thought. As a surprising change to his image. Though, among all the different variations he had always imagined that he’d be able to be here with you. With you by his side.
Or rather he’d be here by your side.
You’d give that small modest smile that always managed to make people flush and brush the back of your hand against his as you introduced him to the crowd. People would look at him with amusement and awe but Hoshiumi wouldn’t care the slightest about their views and words. His eyes would solely be on you. And then, at the end of the show when everyone else is just about gone he would finally wrap his hand around yours.
And yet… here he stands alone.
The cold air blasts him as he opens the doors. The room is still mostly empty though Hoshiumi expects it to fill up soon. He remembers reading somewhere that they would play a slideshow of your favourite photos before the end of the private service.
Hoshiumi, truthfully, doesn't have much experience with funerals but he expects that most people are planning on making it to the slide show. Afterall, it’s something that’s meant to display your life and everyone that means something to you.
Everyone, Hoshiumi included, are entranced by the photos that have been displayed on the walls. Your photos have always been amazing but Hoshiumi doesn't think that he’s seen any of these before. The boy had gone through almost everything you’d ever published when he first met you and he doesn't think he’s seen any of these before. Of course, he could have easily overlooked them or just simply doesn't remember.
All of the photos are eye-catching but the first one to truly grab hold of Hoshiumi’s attention is the one filled with a boy with tired eyes staring into the lens of the camera. There’s this half sort of smile on his face as he’s leaning on his arms. The kind of expression one would see on someone that is exactly where they wish to be.
What was your relationship with him to elicit such an expression? So much warmth and admiration.
Hoshiumi almost feels a little embarrassed as he stares at the photo. It’s such an intimate look. The same kind of look that girls gush over when they talk about famous actors in their favourite scenes.
Pulling himself away from the photo, Hoshiumi attempts to find his own.
It’s the last one in the long line of pictures. He’s not staring at the camera and seems to be in the middle of a game. None of Hoshiumi’s teammates can be seen, though Hoshumi assumes that they were likely photoshopped out.
Hoshiumi had never been all too good at posing for photos but this one definitely makes him reconsider just how photogenic he might really be.
“You’re that boy from the earlier photos, the Soldier, aren’t you?” A loud voice exclaims.
“Yeah. How’d you know? Most people are surprised when they learn it’s me in those photos.”
Hoshiumi turns his head to look at the two strangers. Well, they aren’t exactly strangers. No one in this room is a stranger to him but neither are they people who he’s met before. Hoshiumi has committed almost each and everyone of these faces to memory. Not because of anything to do with the individuals themselves but because they were faces you cared enough about to take down. Because they were people that mattered to you.
The loud voice belongs to the Mentalist. A lanky man with dual coloured hair and a practiced smile. He’s definitely older than Hoshiumi but doesn't look a day older than he did when you had taken his photo.
The Mentalist smiles, “you have the same eyes.”
The other man who is dressed in a green suit is someone Hoshiumi recognizes as the Soldier. It takes him a moment to put a name to the face but he ultimately figures it out when he notices the man’s eyebrows raise in suspicion. The spitting image of the young boy’s photo that you used to carry around in your wallet.
“And the same expression.” Hoshiumi adds.
The duo turn to look at Hoshiumi, their eyes scanning him.
It’s something akin to the expression other volleyball players give him before a game. As if they’re sizing him up and looking for any angle where they might have a one up on him.
Hoshiumi isn’t one to barge into stranger’s conversations…
Okay maybe he is - but to him these two are the least strange to him.
They’re the two you talked about the most during the days the two of you spent together. The two that made you smile the most. The two that made your eyes light up the way that Hoshiumi wanted to make them. Out of everyone here, Hoshiumi feels as though he might be able to be friends with the two of them.
Though, admittedly, they seem very different from how you described them. Perhaps it’s because of the events.
No.
It’s because he’s not you.
The Mentalist turns to look at him, “the Athlete?”
Hoshiumi flushes, “I was never really a fan of that title.”
“Why so?” Asks the Mentalist.
“Because it always felt so…” Hoshiumi trials off.
Wrong? No it wasn’t wrong. He was an athlete but to be called the Athlete is quite a title to bestow upon someone. He feels like the odd man out compared to the other two men. Two men that have known you much longer than Hoshiumi has. To them he must be nothing but a kid. Someone with barely any knowledge of you compared to them.
You.
You’re smiling at him through the photo hanging of you on the wall.
It’s an older photo. Your hair is significantly shorter and you don’t have those sunmarks that Hoshiumi used to love counting. You used to always flush and push him away which would only cause him to laugh in response.
What kind of person were you back then?
Were you as easily flustered back then? Were you more youthful and hopeful? Did you spurt random bouts of wisdom that sound like baloney? Did you flush when someone mentioned your age? Hoshiumi remembers joking about how old you were getting though now he realises just how young you really were. Much too young for him and everyone else to be here now.
The Soldier clears his throat, “different from who you felt you were?”
“Yeah.” says Hoshiumi, though he can’t force himself to turn and look at the other two men. He feels as though he might break. But he doesn't leave either. Afterall, he’s never been the kind of person to back down in the face of a challenge. Though, this isn’t the kind of thing most people would consider a challenge.
And besides, strangely… Being around these two is a feeling similar to how it felt to be around you. It’s strange yet comforting.
“You know, those are the titles she picked for you.” The Mentalist explains, “I think she would have wanted you to look a little deeper into it.”
The Soldier scoffs, “and what’s yours supposed to mean, Mentalist?”
The Mentalist gives a well practiced smile, “well, I'm a magician, aren’t I? She was always very impressed by my extraordinary mental prowess. Though… When she said it, she always meant eccentric. Considered calling it ‘the Mad Man’ at some point.”
Hoshimui wonders what else you had considered calling him.
You had promised him a preview of all the photos you’d taken of him before you… Anyways, Hoshiumi hadn’t ever gotten to see those photos until now. He never got to see all the little notes you wrote on the backs of those photos and the beautiful poems he’s heard the others talk about. But this is enough. It’s enough for him knowing that you cared enough to give him such a beautiful and meaningful title in the first place.
The soldier’s eyes brightened, “she wanted to call mine ‘the Brat.’”
Now that Hoshiumi can’t see.
But the thought makes him laugh.
Hoshiumi quickly clears his throat, feeling enough courage to ask the question that had been nagging at him all day, “did you two know her well?”
And their answers - “Not as well as I’d like to.” Says the Mentalist. The Soldier shugs, “At one point.” - surprise Hoshiumi.
From how you talked about the two of them he would have assumed that you were close. The looks on their faces turn sad and sullen and yet Hoshiumi feels not joyful but suddenly not as lonely. It makes him feel as though it wasn’t just him that you wanted to keep at an arm's length. It wasn’t just him that you were afraid to let in.
“Did you?” Asks the Soldier.
“I’m not sure.” Answers Hoshiumi.
“Well you’re here so you must have meant something to her.” Says the soldier, his voice soft.
The Mentalist smiles warmly, “and she must have meant something to you.”
You meant more to him than you’ll ever get to know.
“So,” The Mentalist clears his throat, “what’s ‘the Athlete’ supposed to mean?”
“Oh,” Hoshiumi mentally scolds himself for flushing again, “well it’s actually a bit of an inside joke… I think.”
The Mentalist turns his head to the side, “you think?”
“Well, she always talked about how she admired athletes. Talked about how she loved the way they ‘sparked’. Honestly, I’m surprised she chose me in the end.” Hoshiumi smiles, “I guess she couldn’t help but be impressed when she watched me play.”
Sparking.
Hoshiumi remembers how brightly you smiled when first saying those words. ‘Not everyone sparks’, you said, ‘people that spark are brilliant. Like you. It’s kind of hard to explain but I imagine it’s something similar to that feeling you get when you manage to break through a block that’s been roofing you all game.’
The Soldier, who's been standing idly by, finally turns to look at Hoshiumi and the Mentalist, “have any of you talked to the others?”
Hoshiumi rubs his neck sheepishly, “the others?” This is the first conversation he’s had all day.
“The other Muses?” Asks the Mentalist.
“Oh,” Hoshiumi looks around at the other people crowding the hall, “no. Honestly, I’m not really familiar with anyone else here. She never really spoke about the other… muses.” Apart from the two of you. “I’m basically a stranger to everyone else here. What about the two of you?”
“I’m in the same boat as you.” says the Soldier.
Hoshiumi and the Soldier then turn to look at the Mentalist who promptly responds, “she always did like to keep her distance.”
Distance, huh.
Hoshiumi hadn’t thought of it like that before. Though now that he thinks about it he realizes it’s likely something you’ve been doing all your life. Afterall, your childhood friend, the Soldier, looks around weirdly as if out of place in a place that you used to call home. A distance between yourself and your youth. The Mentalist, the man who helped bring you into this world, stares at your newest photos as though he can’t believe that this is something you’ve created. A distance between yourself and your past.
And a distance between yourself and him.
The distance between you and Hoshiumi was one he could never quite bridge. He could only ever love you from afar and wonder what it might be like to hear you call out his name. In the middle of a game when you’re cheering for him; excitedly when you have something on your phone that you want to show him; upsetly when he teases you about something stupid; or softly when he leaves for an away game.
Fall in love with someone you met.

In the Midst of Uncertainty
(Y/n) (L/n),
Sometimes I wonder what you might have thought of me. Was I just another person passing by? Was I someone you wanted to know? Someone you wanted to be around? I guess now I’ll never have the chance to ask you now, though I suppose I never would have asked in the first place.
Hoshiumi Korai.

‘Beneath star filled eyes and below the practiced smiles was the ‘her’ I knew. A young girl who wanted nothing but to change the world.’
- The Soldier
---
You know,
The other day while I was out something came up that reminded me of you. The water fountain, where you took the first photo of me, was getting repaired. An older man approached me and spoke about his memories there and talked about how sad it was that it no longer held the same magical sparkle.
At first I had agreed with him but the longer I stared the more I began to notice that there was some sort of sparkle still there. The children that ran and played around it certainly seemed to find something magical about it; and I began to wonder if that was how you too saw the world?
Your friend, Korai.

‘She glowed. Perhaps not with the brilliance of stars, or the destructiveness of fire; but with the gentle comfort of the night - like fireflies.’
- The Storyteller

Dear (Y/n),
There are many things I wish I could have said to your face. Many things that I’ll never get the chance to say.
I have this vague idea in my head of what I think you might say. Of how I believe you might have reacted. Like, for instance, when I’m stuck at the grocery store trying to decide between two different apples. I’d imagine you’d laugh before throwing them both into the cart and I’d put them both back but see them once again when we reached the register. I’d give you a certain look and then you’d smile - the same smile you always had when you saw me.
And yet, when I ask others about you I’m met with such different versions of the person I used to know. Such mixed reactions and predictions of what you might have done and it makes me wonder if I ever really knew you at all.
Yours, Hoshimui.

‘From whispers to rumors I learned her name. It wasn’t something I thought worth remembering yet it was also something I’d never forget.’
- The Mentalist
---
I feel lonely when I think of you. Of how I might never end up with someone. How I’ll forever be searching for someone that’ll only ever be second best. And it makes me sad.
---
‘People say she parted crowds like how Moses parted the sea. That she danced on the moon with stars in her hair. Really though, she was someone who loved to get lost in crowds.’
- The Dancer

(Y/n),
Did I ever tell you how I used to pour over your written works? That, at one point, I’d taken out all the photos in the album you left behind just to search for tiny phrases or poems that you might’ve left behind? How, while I’d never been all too good at reading, your words reached me in a way nothing else ever had?
I think, in another life, you could have been a poet or writer. Perhaps not a big ticked author whose work ends up as a New York Times’ best seller but the kind that manages to reach the hearts of even the most closed off individuals. Perhaps not because you managed to live a life just as bad or worse but because you were able to feel sympathy and empathy for them.
I wonder if other people have managed to read the words you’ve left behind. If they think about you the same way that I do? If they wonder about you the same way that I had? And if they hoped to one day see the face of someone that moved them so.
Korai.

‘Sometimes she was as gentle as dew on the petals of flowers in the morning; others, she was as loud as the pounding of raindrops in the midst of a thunderstorm.’
- The Architect

I miss you deeply.
Perhaps not as much as your parents or relatives miss you.
Perhaps not even as much as your friends or acquaintances.
But deeply - if that make’s sense.
---
‘The stories always painted her as a soloist on a journey of discovery but I like to think that she was more of an accompanist. Someone that sought to bring out others’ brilliance.’
- The Violinist
---
I think you were like a distant wave in the wind, a sudden burst of warmth in a sea of cool, and it was refreshing yet overwhelming at the same time.
---
‘I know of many that have claimed to have recognized her elegance and brilliance from first glance. But to me she was utterly ordinary.’
- The Journalist
---
(Y/n),
Before you knew me I used to think of you before bed. I used to dream of you when I went to sleep and think of you once again when I woke up. And it’s strange, isn’t it? That I’d desperately search for a way to be close to someone that I didn’t know? Someone that I never knew? And yes, I did feel rather odd, but it was my way of wondering what kind of person you’d be and how you might think of me.
I think, deep down in the depths of my heart, I knew that there would forever be this distance between yourself and I. It was just the kind of person you seemed to be. So kind and warm yet just barely out of reach.
That was how you seemed to me, a stranger, and how you seemed to your friends. And I wonder if that ever made you lonely. If it ever made you wish for something more. Something that you might not ever be. Of course, I hope you didn’t mind it and I hoped that you did manage to find someone close to you (even if that person wasn’t me) because we should all be close to someone. That, afterall, is how we are meant to live. Together.
When I knew you I would wonder about you constantly. In between games and sometimes in the middle of training sessions. Of course you didn’t totally consume my mind though you certainly seemed to do that very thing to my heart. When I knew you I felt as if I knew you more and less. As if all my questions before had been answered and strangely opened more.
As if we could ever know someone for just a few moments or questions.
Your death was so sudden, ya know?
The kind of thing I’d never be able to prepare myself for.
The kind of thing I’d never thought would have happened.
The kind of thing I wish…
Ya know, sometimes I wonder how our lives might have been if we were born in another universe. In another time line with different… variants. Would we be nothing but characters on a page? Would I still love you from a distance? Would I have ever gotten the chance to know you at all and if I did would I still love you the way I did now? Would you just be another person?
I think not.
I’d like to believe that this me, and every other me (if others me did exist) would love you. Not because it was a matter of life or because it was something predetermined by fate or God but because that was just how things would be. And it would be a choice I’d choose to make every day.
Korai.

It’s hard for me to understand other people. Though I guess that’s because I never really tried. In my mind, I imagine most people are sad. A part of them is always searching for something they’re missing - searching for something to really care about - when they aren’t already distracted with something else.

“I had once hoped to fall in love.”
“And why is it no longer what you wish for?”
“Well, I suppose I still do - though differently than how I had before.”
“How so?”
“Now I hope to love and be loved rather than love someone else from afar.”

‘She was ever like a breeze in the wind. Always all around you, ready to shower you with a gentle kiss of spring, yet always just out of reach.’
- The Auteur

Do you remember when I asked you “how do you come up with ideas for your photos?”
How you shook your head and sat silently for a while. Then you went on a long walk. When you came back your expression was sad and almost empty - almost as if you’d lost all inspiration that once filled your eyes. Your strange behaviour had gone on for so long that I had begun to wonder what it is that I might have done wrong. And eventually, you closed your eyes and spotted something amongst the brilliant stars.
And you smiled, “instinct, I suppose. Though mostly because of people like you.”

It’s hard to write but it’s even harder to love.
Sometimes, I wonder if I have done either.

‘She was sort of like that moment right before you took flight. Filled with so much excitement, anticipation and fear for what’s to come.’

Dearest, (Y/n),
I attended a showing of yours the other day. Though I suppose it was more of a showing that presented you rather than a showing that you have created. The paintings were beautiful and almost all of your Muses had gathered around to see it. It was in celebration of your life. I guess that’s the only time we’re ever all in one place though. When it’s about you.
The names of people that I’d known for years seemed so much more… human in person. Less tangible.
We were all asked to write something about you for the show. Asked about what we thought you were like. I wonder if you would have smiled after reading everyone else’s words. If you would have shaken your head and turned away. You definitely collected quite the group of personalities among you.
And yet somehow… Everyone here seems so alike.
I can’t exactly name how, it’s more of a gut feeling in my chest. Like when I know where someone’s going to hit despite their bodies giving nothing away.
You used to tell me that that was one of your favourite things about me.
I wonder if it still would be now.
Ya know, I have to admit, I don’t think I ever really thought about death until you. Of course I knew that people died but the full force of the idea didn’t really sink in until you were sunk beneath the sea. I think it would have made you happy, knowing that your ashes were spread across the sea instead of being buried beneath the ground. Free to travel the world to your heart’s content. And truthfully, I could never imagine you being trapped in one place for the rest of time.
A part of me wishes I had managed to meet you sooner. When you were still young and filled with youthful innocence. When you were still naive and eager to see the rest of the world. When you had yet to fall in love for the first time. I wonder and wonder, and it only makes me wonder even more.
Do you think I would have been able to know you better?
Do you think anyone would have been able to know you had you not closed yourself off?
Do you think you could have loved me?
I miss you.
I think everyone here misses you, at least a little.
Ya, I think that sounds right. At least a little.
Yours, Korai.

Kageyama Tobio X Fem! Reader (she/her pronouns); past Miya Atsumu x reader
Warnings: Cheating/infidelity, angst, fluff, swearing, kissing, Atsumu is a real jerk
WC: ~6k
A/N: I’ve had this fic sitting in my drafts for a LONG time. I decided to finally just get it out so it’s not really proof read and definitely not beta read 😅
You couldn't believe what you were seeing. Blinking a few times, you rubbed your eyes to make sure the imagine in front if you was real.
Your boyfriend of over a year, MSBY setter, Atsumu Miya was kissing another woman. Your heart sank to the pit of your stomach as you watched the scene unfold, his hands grasping her waist like they had yours just this morning. The thought made you sick.
"Hey YN,” voice sounded from behind you as you turn to see your best friend Mila standing next to her boyfriend, Korai Hoshiumi of the Schweiden Adlers. Mila's hands flew up to her mouth at the sight before her. Korai watched his girlfriends gaze, following it to see you as well as Atsumu behind you. You could see Korai's fist clench in rage as you turned to see Atsumu. His eyes met yours, his face paling.
"Atsumu baby, who is she?" the woman in his arms asked as tears blurred your vision. You couldn't move, the shock of everything overcoming you like waves in the ocean. "Hey what’s," a voice said from behind you. Turning, you saw Tobio Kageyama, setter for the Schweiden Adlers, standing next to Mila and Korai. His eyes concerned when he saw your face, turning into pure rage when he looked beyond you at the scene causing your tears. It couldn't have been more than a few seconds since you first laid eyes on your boyfriend and the other woman but the time felt like it had all but stopped.
You watched as Mila approached you, reaching out to grab you. "Hey honey, are you ok?" she said, trying to check on you. Your eyes snapped to hers as the tears rolled down your cheeks, you turned to look at Atsumu who had no let go of the woman and was walking closer. You instinctively backed away, turning and running from the arena where your entire world had just shattered. You heard Mila's voice yelling at you then at Atsumu as you continued to run.
“Atsumu you fucking asshole!” A voice shouted as your head fogged, running as fast as possible just to escape. “YN wait!” Another voice called but you didn’t stop, running as fast as you legs could carry you, desperate to escape the pain.
“She ran this way,” a voice carried through the arena as you hit the front door, the cold air biting at your face as you took off down the busy street.
Signaling a taxi, you hoped in, telling the driver your address as you stared forward, not wanting to look back.
Back at you're shared apartment with Atsumu, you grabbed a suitcase and stuffed as many clothes as you could in it, hoping to quickly make your exit. You filled your toiletries bag full of your skin care, shampoo, conditioner and whatever else you needed. The end goal being to not return for as long as humanly possible.
You grabbed your laptop, tablet and chargers making sure you had all the basic necessities and left the apartment as quickly as you came. Catching the elevator, you rode down to the first floor, holding yourself together surprisingly well.
Upon exiting, you saw Atsumu's car pull up in a hurry. Not ready to face him just yet, you decided to hide in the lobby bathroom until he got into the elevator. You heard his hurried words, "come on, come on" as he clicked the button, the elevator door opening and closing. You quickly exited the building, grabbing a taxi and telling them the address to Mila and Korai's shared apartment. Clicking your best friends number, you held your phone up to your ear as it rang.
"YN! Oh my god thank God you are ok! We are all so worried about you,” Mila said sounding scared.
"I'm headed to your apartment now, can I stay a few days just until I can figure things out?" you said, your voice cold and empty.
"Of course baby, you can stay as long as you need too,” Mila responded. You could hear her talking to someone, presumably Korai, telling them you were safe.
"Thanks Mila," you said, the tears catching in your throat as your emotions started to crest. You hung up quickly, trying to hold everything in so as to not alarm the taxi driver.
Arriving at the upscale apartments, you quickly walked in and headed to Korai and Mila’s apartment.
"Hey Korai," you said, trying to smile as he opened the door, grabbed your luggage and hauled you into a hug.
"Hey YN," he said as you hugged him back tight.
"Is she here? Baby!" Mila said running toward you and scooping you into a tight hug. You hugged her back as your body began to shake uncontrollably, the emotions you had been resisting finally boiling over.
You begin falling to the ground, screaming and crying as Mila held you, petting your hair and kissing your forehead. Everything was becoming too much and your body was worn out.
"Hey-Hey shhhh it's ok, it's all going to be ok," Mila said, petting your hair as you sobbed. You could hear Mila talking to Korai but you couldn't make out the words, your brain was clouded with all the emotions of the past hour.
"He's calling again,” Korai said as you continued to sob in Mila's arms.
“Tell him she's safe and to fuck all the way off," Mila growled at her boyfriend who you assume only nodded and walked away.
"W-what is wrong with me Mila? W-what did I do?? I-I k-know I'm not always around but I-I try! I go to all his games, I make dinner, I thought everything was ok," you said crying out to your best friend.
She continued to pet your head, holding you close as she whispered, "YN this isn't your fault! Don't you dare thing any of this is your fault baby! Atsumu is a fucking idiot and he doesn’t deserve you!" You cried harder as she pulled you closer yet, kissing your forehead. Korai returned to the living room, his face unreadable.
"Well?" Mila asked.
"He wants to come over. He’s losing it Mila. He knows YN took her stuff and left. I heard him throw something against the wall,” Korai said.
"Are you fucking kidding me? He did this and now he’s acting like a child because he got caught! " Mila whisper shouted, still caressing your hair as she continued to console you.
"I told him no babe. I said our priority is YN and that I don’t think he should be around her in the state he’s in. He told me that it wad fucked up and that he was going to send Osamu over," Korai said, exasperated.
"Does he really think she wants to see Osamu right now either?" Mila chimed in.
“That’s what I said but he was adamant so I called Osamu and told him what happened. He said he wasn't going to fight Atsumu's battle and as far as I know, he's just as pissed at Sumu as the rest of us. Apparently Sakusa had already called him because Atsumu was raging in the locker room, ”Korai said.
“He should be raging at himself right now! He’s the one who fucked everything up! I swear to god that man,” Mila growled.
You breathed in harshly, hiccupping as you pulled your head away to look up at Mila and Korai. Positive you looked like you had just been hit by a bus with your makeup all over, you went to speak.
Korai's phone rang again as he quickly answered it quickly.
"I swear to God if that's Sumu again," Mila said, sounding like she was ready to kill.
“Hey Kageyama- yeah she's here with us now," Korai said as you watched Korai ran his hand down his face, “Dude- trust me I know, I want to punch him just as bad as you do but we can't do that. We can't risk suspension before the Olympics."
You wiped your eyes as you and Mila watched Korai walk around the living room.
"Nah she's ok dude. She's with Mila and me and she's going to stay for as long as she needs too,” Korai said looking and smiling at you. You smiled back, looking down and whipping your eyes a little. Mila pulled you into a hug to which you reciprocated.
"I think we all just need to cool down man. Yeah, I know- I know Kageyama. Yeah I'll tell her. Ok bye,” Korai said hanging up.
"Kageyama wanted to make sure you were ok YN. He wanted to come check on you but I think we all need a night to just chill,” Korai added.
You smile and nod at the thought of how much Tobio cared for you. You sat back, getting to your knees and standing as Mila watched.
“Tobio ran after you YN,” Mila interjected, “he probably would have caught you if he hadn’t gotten into it with Atsumu.”
Your eyes widened as you spoke, “they didn’t fight did they?”
Korai shook his head, responding, “no, Bokuto and Hinata got in-between them and then the coaches got involved.”
You nodded, satisfied with the fact that nobody had fought and gotten hurt. As much as you disliked Atsumu, the idea of him getting hurt wasn’t something you wished to happen. As far as Tobio, you didn’t want him to risk suspension over your drama.
"I'm going to shower and go to bed. Thank you both for everything. I love you so much," you said, tears coming again as you look from Mila to Korai.
"Are you hungry YN? We can," Mila said as you shook your head.
"no I'm ok but thanks," you said grabbing your suitcase and heading towards the guest bedroom.
It was pure luck that Korai and Mila's apartment had coming with a guest room with an en suite. You stripped your clothes, grabbed your toiletries and removed your makeup. Eyes and face puffy from all the crying, you tried your best to hold in your emotions as you studied your expression.
What could you have done different? Could you have done anything at all? What does she have that I don't? The questions plagued your mind as the tears began to fall all over again.
You started the shower, placing all your things in. It hurt to see your shampoo alone, without Atsumu's sitting open next to it. Your body wash and sponge sitting on the edge like it should be and not knocked off on the floor like it had been so many times. The words of Atsumu dropping your body wash on his foot rang in your ears as the hot water cascaded down your body. This was really it; this was really the end.
Your body shook as you cried, sinking to the floor of the shower. You couldn't tell your tears from the water as you sat on the floor, knees to your chest. The life you had dreamed of, the life you had so loved, the life that was so perfect was perfect no more.
You awoke the next morning with a pounding headache, all the crying, lack of food and water had taken its toll. You sat up in the soft bed, rubbing your now dry but surely red eyes as you tried to wake up.
The clock on the nightstand said 6:30am. You remember crawling into bed around 10:30pm, unsure of when you had fallen asleep. You made your way to the bathroom, brushing your teeth and washing your face as you looked in the mirror.
Your hair was matted from falling asleep while it was still wet. Adjusting your tank top and shorts, you began combing through your hair. Throwing it up in a top knot, you slowly opened the door and made your way to the living room, smelling coffee and hearing rustling in the kitchen.
"Good morning," you said as Korai spun around, smiling at you as he reached for a coffee mug from the cabinet.
"Hey, sleep, ok?" He asked. You shrugged and sat down as he poured you a mug, grabbing creamer from the refrigerator.
“Mila turned your phone off last night. Uhh- he kept calling and texting," Korai said studying his protein shake with great interest.
"Shit- I'm sorry I totally forgot about my phone," you said looking up at him.
He just shook his head. “YN don't apologize for any of this. None of this is your fault,” he said as a small smile graced your face as you brought the cup to your mouth.
“Korai, I know you have to work with Atsumu for training. I don’t want this to effect your team,” you said lowly looking at Korai.
“YN, I understand your concerns but what Atsumu did doesn’t have anything to do with volleyball. He hurt you and you are very important to Mila and thus important to me. I can’t just pretend it didn’t happen,” he said as you nodded.
“If only I wouldn’t have gone to that game,” you said, sighing into your coffee mug.
"If you wouldn’t have gone to the game YN, there’s still a big chance that me or Korai would have seen him and girl code dictates that I must tell you everything,” Mila said coming into the kitchen, her hair all over the place and her eyes looking tired.
“Yeah but I’m sure bro code is different,” you said ad you and Mila looked to Korai.
“Nah, if I would have seen that I would have told Mila and my girls got a big mouth,” he said as Mila looked at him, offended.
“Just remember what this ‘big mouth’ does for you Mr. I wouldn’t be talking smack like that,” she scoffed ad you laughed.
Korai laughed as he took a drink of his protein shake and you watched as Mila stomped around the kitchen, grabbing everything she needed.
“Did Korai tell you I told him off last night because I did!” Mila growled, as she slammed her mug on the table.
“You what?” You said, setting down your coffee as Korai folded his arms over his chest.
“Yes, unfortunately before she silenced your phone, she answered one of his many calls,” Korai said shaking his head.
“Mila? Really?” You said looking at her as she looked back.
“Girl, I laid into him hard! Like made him cry and then beg for me to give you the phone. Then I blocked him,” Mila smiled, satisfied with herself as Korai’s head fell back on his shoulders.
A knock sounded at the door as you and Mila froze in your seats.
"It's just Kageyama, it's our long running day" Korai said as he made his way to the door. You felt the breath that you didn't know you were holding release as your tension fell away. Korai opened the door and Kageyama stepped in, looking straight at you a small smile creeping on his face. You smiled back as he made his way over to you, bending down and kissing the top of your head.
"Hey kid," he said as you grabbed his arm and squeezed, his small gesture sending comfort throughout your body.
"Let's get going. We have like 5 miles to make it through before practice," Korai said, grabbing his keys and phone and shoving it in his pocket. Kageyama looked at Korai and back at you, nodding as he made his way out the front door. He smiled at you before, again kissing the top of your head in a sweet gesture and making his way to the front door. Korai waved to you and Mila, closing the door behind him.
A few days had past since you had caught Atsumu cheating. The first 4 days were rough. Unblocking his number, the calls and texts flood in as you quickly began to second guess your decision. He had tried several times to confront you, waiting outside Korai and Mila’s apartment. It was finally when Mila lost it, swearing to take a baseball bat to his beloved car that he stopped showing up.
According to Hinata, Atsumu stayed late at the gym and arrived early the next morning. Korai said that Olympic practice had been tense the past few days as well. Atsumu had taken every chance to try and catch Korai alone, trying to get whatever information he could from him. Korai told you that he said nothing about you other than that you didn’t want to speak with him.
You knew you had to end it officially with Atsumu but you were no where near ready to confront him. Every time you thought about him, images of him kissing that woman flooded your brain. You couldn't get rid of them; you couldn't stop thinking about it. You began to wonder if he had kissed other women or had slept with them. You replayed your relationship over and over in your head wondering what you could have done differently. It hurt you mentally, physically and emotionally, the pain felt never-ending.
A few days later, you were heading home from work when it happened.
"YN- YN! Stop YN!" His voice hit you as you turned to see Atsumu chasing after you. Your mind flooded with emotions, seeing him for the first time since you had discovered his infidelity. You turned, walking faster in your heels and dress, trying to make it back to Mila and Korai's apartment. You could hear him shouting, his tall frame trying to move through the crowds of people as you effortlessly weaved in and out, dodging where you could just to get away. You rounded the corner, running as fast as your heeled feet would take you, turning to see Atsumu still trying to get to you.
You abruptly halted when you run into someone, the person grabbing you by the arms, head bowed and eyes meeting yours.
"YN hey- hey are you ok?” Kageyama asked as he looked into your big eyes, filled with tears yet again.
"YN for fucks sake, I just want to talk,” Atsumu said coming up behind you as Kageyama moved you to the side, his arm grasping firmly around your waist, his hand possessively holding onto you.
"Atsumu get lost,” Kageyama growled as your tears only fell harder, your body coursing with emotions.
"Tobio, this isn't about you! Now let go of YN so I can talk to her. I'm not going to hurt her,” Atsumu said but you had enough.
"You already fucking hurt me!" You screamed, looking over at Atsumu who was stunned by your outburst.
"YN I-"
" No Atsumu- no more! We are done! I don't want to hear it. I don't want to see you, I don't even want to be around you! You threw everything we had down the drain! An entire years worth of memories and love, just gone! Whatever she had that I didn't, I hope it was all worth it because I won't let you have any more of my time or emotions," you scream, locking eyes with Atsumu as he stood there stunned.
You could see the tears beginning to crest in his eyes. You pulled away from Kageyama, grabbing his arm and tugging him along.
"Let's go Tobio,” you said as Kageyama followed you wordlessly, leaving Atsumu stunned and alone on the street.
"Holy shit- I can't believe I did that,” you say to Kageyama as he closes the door to Korai and Mila's apartment.
"You fucking did that YN,” he said, smiling at you. You look back at him, smiling wide as you run and hugged him, arms going around his neck as his went to your waist. "I'm so proud of you sweetheart" he whispered into your hair as you smiled into his shoulder.
A few weeks had passed, and you were getting ready for a night out with the Adlers. You had slowly been moving on from Atsumu, learning to navigate your life as a single women and enjoying every minute of it.
You still had your moments, especially when Atsumu would show up or send extravagant gifts to your door. He sent jewelry and flowers, everything under the sun to get you to hear him out, accepting all the gifts only to turn around and mail them right back to him.
He had to be mad to think he could buy your love again after what you had seen. He swore up and down that nothing more than kissing happened but even then, it still didn't matter. Kissing another women was enough to solidify the end of your relationship.
You had managed to gather the remainder of your items from Atsumu's place after receiving word that he was out drinking with MSBY one Saturday night. Leaving what you could live without and grabbing the more sentimental items, you left the key on the cabinet with a note that you were no longer on the lease.
You adjusted your short black spaghetti strap dress as you finished curling your hair. You're outfit tonight was purchased new after an impulsive shopping trip with Mila to the mall the day after you had officially moved out of Atsumu’s apartment.
It was different than what you normally went for, short and revealing but you were feeling strong and confident as the dress showed off your breasts and ass nicely. The black heels you had gotten were a nice addition to the dress as well as the faux diamond choker and bracelet set you had found.
After one final check in the mirror, you grabbed your lip gloss and mascara, shoving them into your clutch as you headed to the living room.
"Holy shit on a shingle YN, you look fucking amazing!" Mila screamed as Korai looked over to see your best friend gawking at you.
“You’re one to talk babe! That red dress looks fucking spectacular girl,” you said as Mila blushed and waved you off.
He quickly took a shot of whiskey, rolling his eyes and setting the glass down, “maybe I should have worn something more applicable to getting into fights” he said as you and Mila glared at him, a smile crossing his face. The doorbell rang as Mila rushed to answer it.
Kageyama smiled as Mila as he entered wearing a casual navy suit with a white button-down shirt. He looked incredible. His eyes met yours as he slowly took in your form, visibly gulping as his eyes made their way down your body and back up to meet yours. Your eyes met his, sparkling big and bright as you pushed your hair behind your ear, smiling downward.
"YN, you look- you look-" Kageyama stuttered, trying to form proper semtances.
"Spectacular, amazing?" Mila interrupted.
"No, absolutely perfect,” he said smiling at you as he walked closer to you, bending down slightly to kiss your cheek. His hands going to the small of your back as your hand went to grasp his bicep.
"You look incredible Tobio," you say smiling up at him. You knew Mila was talking but you didn't hear anything she was saying, the words not even computing in your brain.
Over the past weeks, Kageyama had been a savior on top of being an amazing friend. He was constantly on the look out for you, helping you with whatever you needed.
When Mila and Korai left for a weekend getaway, he came over and spent the entire weekend hanging out with you. You baked, cooked, talked and watched movies. It felt so freeing to be able to laugh and have fun.
You couldn't say your feelings for Tobio were strictly platonic. You felt safe with him, cared for and protected. You knew his eyes would linger on you, his breath hitching when you would grab his hand or touched him but you were talking it slow, no where near ready to jump into something serious.
Without exchanging words, Tobio already knew this. It had been a late night, after eating brownies and having a good cry with him at your side. You had laid on his thigh, resting your eyes as he stroked your hair, your eyes drifting closed. You heard him say, "I'll wait as long as you need me too YN. You're worth it."
You arrived at the bar with Mila, Korai and Tobio as he interlaced your fingers with his, walling along side of you to where the entire Adlers team was seated.
"YN!! Hey its so good to see you again! You look phenomenal!” Hirugami, the captain of the Adlers said kissing your cheek. You smiled and thanked him, as Tobio pulled out your chair and helped you sit.
You ordered your drinks, talking with the team. The hours flew by as you laughed and smiled the entire night. It had been so long since you had felt this good. You're eyes didn't miss Kageyama's staring at you as you chatted and laughed with his team.
Mila stood up and looked at you, the universal girl signal to follow her to the bathroom. You excused yourselves as you began walking towards the back of the bar.
On your way back to the table, you head a loud group laughing and shouting.. Looking over, you saw Hinata, Sakusa, Bokuto and Atsumu all sitting around at a table, woman laced all over them.
You're eyes widened as you grabbed for Mila's hand. She turned around, eyes catching the scene just as a voice shouted "Hey YN!" from over by the group. You looked over to see Hinata waving at you as all eyes suddenly turned to you, including Atsumu who was sitting in between two women.
Mila grabbed your hand and begin to pull, trying to get you out as quickly as she could. You gave a quick smile and small wave to the team as Mila pulled hard, dodging every which way she could.
You could hear Sakusa berate Hinata for saying something as you made your way through the crowd.
“YN come on,” Mila pulled as you tried to break through the dense crowd of the packed club.
"Hey- Hey! YN stop!" You heard Atsumu shout as Mila pulled you away, trying desperately to reach the Adlers table. You were caught behind a sea of people as Atsumu came within an arms length, reaching out to touch you.
“YN, I said wait a second!" Atsumu finally said, grabbing onto your other wrist and halting your movements.
Mila turned in rage and shouted, “let go of her Atsumu right now!"
Atsumu held on to your wrist and glared at Mila. "I want to talk with Yn- alone please," Atsumu snarled, his words a little slurred from what you could only assume was the booze he had been drinking.
"Over my dead body," Mila shouted as you turned to her with pleading eyes.
"Atsumu, I don't want to talk to you. We are done and I've said my peace now please let me go," you said trying to gently pull away from him.
You knew you were roughly in the middle of the bar, too far away for the Adlers to know what was happening, not that you wanted Tobio or Korai to know. You could handle this.
"YN please, I know I fucked up ok and I'm miserable! I’m begging you YN, please don't throw this all away. Please, we can get married and you won't have to work anymore. You can stay home and I'll take care of everything for you baby. Please just one more chance," Atsumu said pleading with you as you watched his eyes water. You knew he was truly sorry for what he had done, for the mistake he had made. Unfortunately, you weren't going to forgive him.
"Atsumu, I'm sorry but I can't forgive you for this. Maybe one day we can be friends again but right now, I don't want to see you," you said, still trying to pull your hand away.
Mila was watching, enraged as she pulled her phone out. You knew you only had seconds before Tobio, Korai and potentially the entire Adlers team would show up.
Bokuto and Sakusa approached Atsumu from behind. "Dude let her go she doesn't want to talk to you," Sakusa said, putting his hand on Atsumu's shoulder.
Atsumu shrugged it away as you heard Mila say, “Korai, Atsumu is her and he wont let go of YN!” Silence followed as Mila shouted, “yes, in the middle of the bar!” She hung her phone, turn to glare back at Atsumu.
“Korai and Tobio are coming right now Atsumu! Let go of YN and we will just leave,” she exclaimed as Atsumu shook his head back and forth.
Kageyama picked up his glass, swirling the amber liquor around as he glanced around, waiting for you to return from the bathrooms with Mila. He couldn’t help but stare at you all night, the way that dress looked on your perfect body and how your smile life up the room. He was so incredibly happy you were having fun.
“What did you think about the line up coach our our?” hoshiumi asked as Kageyama shook his head, looking over at the winged spiked who was now smirking
“Im sorry what?” He said as Hoshiumi just rolled his eyes and laughed.
“You’ve got it so bad for her don’t you? I mean I don’t blame you one bit, YN is amazing and drop dead gorgeous,” he responded as Kageyama smiled down into his glass, ripping it back as the liquid rolled down his throat.
Suddenly, Kageyama heard the sound of a phone ringing as Hoshiumi quickly picked his phone off the bar table.
“Hey babe- wait slow down what?” He said as Kageyama set his glass down, Hoshiumi’s eyes meeting his.
“Shit Atsumu’s here? Where are you?” hoshiumi said but it was too late. Kageyama was on his feet and moving through the crowds towards the bathrooms. He figured Atsumu had to have stopped you close enough to be out of range of the Adlers table.
“Ok Kageyama and I are on our way!” He heard Kōrai about or at least he thought he did, his vision was tunneled on finding you, not caring if who he pushed to get out of the way.
The moment he saw you, his ears began to ring. You were struggling against Atsumu, trying to get away and all Kageyama could see was rage.
"Come on bro, that’s enough let's go back to our seat," Bokuto said as he turned to give you a look at said "I'm sorry".
"No YN and I are going to-” he said as you felt the air suddenly shift, an angry presence appearing behind you.
"Yn and you are going to what" a voice boomed loudly as you jumped slightly. You felt a radiation of anger and possessiveness hit you as you turned to see Tobio looming over you, Korai and the Alders on his heels.
"He won't let her go!" Mila cried out as Korai looked from her to you, anger filling his face.
“Atsumu that’s enough!” Korai sneered as he stood besides Tobiom
Kageyama's fists clenched harder as he approached you and Atsumu. "Let her fucking go NOW!" He yelled as Atsumu stayed firm.
"You son of a bitch! You've always wanted her! I fucking knew it, the way you stared at her all the time during games! You want to fuck her don't you Tobio? You just want what you can't fucking have!” Atsumu shouted as Kageyama got in Atsumu’s face.
Atsumu let go of your wrist, causing you to tumble back a bit, Mila grabbing you as Kageyama grabbed Atsumu by the collar, getting right into his face. Korai came to check on you and Mila as you watched the seen unfold before your eyes.
Kageyama pulled Atsumu up towards him growling, "let's get one thing perfectly clear Atsumu, YN isn't yours anymore! You fucked that up when you decided to stick your pathetic dick somewhere else. You fucked up the best thing you ever fucking had. An guess what fucker, now it's my turn to show her how a real man treats a women." He shoved Atsumu off, causing him to stumble back into Bokuto and Sakusa who held him back as he tried to right himself.
Kageyama turned, searching the crowd for you as his eyes met your big ones, he pushed his way towards you, grabbing you around the waist and pulling you into a hug. You hugged him tightly before pulling back and looking into his eyes. "Can we go please?” you begged, as he nodded looking back at Korai who gave him a chin lift in return.
You could hear shouting coming from the bar as you left, paying no mind to what was being said and holding onto Tobio as you make your way to a taxi outside.
He opened the door for you as you scoot in, getting in besides you and telling the driver the address to his apartment. You didn't argue, knowing fully well you were safe with him. You could feel his anger radiating as he still held onto your waist, from behind. You're hand came to rest on his hard chest, his eyes looking down at your hand and then up to your eyes. You smiled a little at him as you snuggled your body close to his, Tobio pulling you close to his body.
At his apartment, he opened the door, letting you in as he took his jacket and shoes off, you following suit, removing your heels.
"I'm sorry YN, I let- shit!” he said, one hand resting on his hip and another combing through his hair. You walk up to him, standing close as he looks down at you.
"Is what Atsumu said true?" You ask him. You wanted to know the truth. He looked at you, then looked away and nodded.
"I've liked you for a long time YN, before you even started dating Atsumu,” he said, turning away and pacing the floor. You stood there and watching his movements.
"When I first met you, I thought you were so gorgeous and perfect. Mila and Korai had just started dating and you were always around. Then Atsumu showed up and fuck- you looked so happy. I couldn't ruin that for you, so I just let you go, content on staying friends with you," he said stopping to look at you. Your eyes softened as you walked up to him, placing your palm on his cheek and looking into his eyes.
"Tobio, look at me," you said as his blue eyes met yours, "what Atsumu and I had is over and I'm not going back to him. I thought about it and the idea of a relationship with someone I can't trust will just never work."
Kageyama nodded as you continued to speak, "I thought it would take me a while to find someone I could count on again. To find someone who cared for me as much as I cared for them but then I realized, I already found that." His eyes widened as he realized what you were saying.
"I trust you Tobio and if you trust me-"
His lips crashed onto yours as your arms went around his neck, his arms snaking tighter around your waist as he leaned down, deepening the kiss.
His tongue grazed your lips as you opened them, allowing your tongues to mingle, a moan sneaking past your lips as your bodies molded together. He felt incredible against your body, fitting perfectly in all the right places. His arms squeezing your waist as your caressed his biceps through his shirt, feeling his bulging muscles. He groaned as you slowly separated, biting his lip as you looked into his beautiful eyes.
He smiled, laying his forehead against yours as he spoke, "YN baby, you've made me the happiest man alive." You smile back, pulling him closer as your let’s met his once again.

Nishinoya and Hoshiumi are everything to me and I've seen you write for both! An actual legend among authors!
If you're interested, could I request how they would react to a big spoon reader (separate). This is technically an sfw request but feel free to do whatever you want!
AHHHH your too sweet!! I never see recognition these characters as subs so i love rq for them ☺️☺️
Nishinoya
He'd be absolutely adorable, all shy and bashful as if cuddling with someone was a completely new experience for him. The sensation of your chest against his back would send shivers down his spine, especially if you have curves and aren't wearing a bra. I imagine he'd relish the feeling of being enveloped in warmth and safety, with no worries in the world.
And if you tried to move away? Forget about it. He'd cling to you like a koala, whining and pleading like a little kid just to keep you close. He'd come up with some silly excuse, like claiming he's chilly, just to prolong the cuddle session.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚
The soft afternoon sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. Nishinoya lay sprawled across his bed, his breathing slow and steady as he dozed off after a long day of practice. The rhythmic sound of his gentle snores filled the room along with the gentle hum of the heater.
You couldn't help but smile as you watched him sleep. He looked so peaceful, so vulnerable in this moment, completely unaware of your presence. You hesitated for a moment, unsure if you should disturb him, but the urge to be close to him was too strong to resist.
Quietly, you approached the bed and carefully slipped under the covers beside him. With a gentle touch, you spooned him from behind, wrapping your arms around his waist and pressing your chest against his back.
Nishinoya stirred slightly at the sensation, but he didn't wake up. Instead, he unconsciously shifted closer to you, nuzzling his head against your chest as if seeking out your embrace. A soft sigh escaped his lips, and you couldn't help but smile at the adorable sight.
Minutes passed as you laid there, feeling the steady rise and fall of his chest against yours.
Eventually, Nishinoya began to stir again, blinking sleepily as he slowly became aware of his surroundings. He tensed slightly at first, surprised by the unexpected warmth at his back, but as he turned to glance over his shoulder, his expression softened into a smile.
"Hey there," you whispered, your voice barely above a murmur.
Nishinoya's smile widened, his eyes sparkling with affection, face flushed. "I like this," he replied, his voice soft and husky from sleep.
Hoshiumi
AHHH this man would be sooo into it. I can imagine him eagerly demand cuddles from you, especially after a grueling day of training.
He knows he’s small, but rather than feeling self-conscious, he embraces it. Spooning is his favorite way to cuddle for a reason, him loving the feeling of being wrapped in your embrace, his smaller frame perfectly fitting against yours.
And falling asleep in your arms? It was his ultimate comfort. Whenever he had a nightmare or simply couldn't find rest, your warmth and protection never failed to lull him into a peaceful slumber.
He would absolutely melt if you gently ran your fingers through his hair, showering him with praise for all the wonderful things he does for you. He'd lean into your touch, basking in the affection, and whine in protest if you ever stopped. All he craves is your attention and admiration!
*ੈ✩‧₊˚
You found yourself nestled comfortably between the plush cushions of your couch, the soft glow of the afternoon sun filtering through the curtains. It hadn't been long since Korai settled down to take a nap, but he had already made his way to the living room, unable to resist the urge to be near you.
“mm I want you,” your lover whined, prodding your arms so he could weasel his way into them.
You chuckled at his endearing behavior, shifting your body to accommodate him as you enveloped him in a warm embrace. As you spooned him from behind, you felt his body relax fully into your grasp, a contented sigh escaping his lips.
Using his arms to nudge yours, Korai silently signaled his desire for more affection, prompting you to oblige. You hummed, bringing your hand up to gently stroke his soft hair, your fingertips grazing his scalp with a soothing touch that prompted a purr from him.
"I'm so proud of you, Korai," you murmured softly, your words filled with genuine admiration. You could hear the faintest of whimpers escape him in response, his cheeks flushing at your praise.
The sensation of your fingers running through his hair with such tenderness was almost overwhelming for him, his eyelids growing heavy as he leaned even closer to you, seeking further comfort in your embrace.

Tumblr media
Hoshiumi Korai always wanted to be tough. To win everything. Some would call it a need to be ‘manly’ enough, but he just always had something to prove. In a weird way, it was one of the things that made you feel drawn to him while you were dating. His drive and competitive tendencies, as well as the little frown he did when he lost or got embarrassed. It was all attractive to you.
Completely unrelated, you cared a lot for your skin with a semi-intricate skincare routine every night. Korai, who you recently moved in with after being partners for a few years, would often stay in the bathroom while you did your routine, brushing his teeth for a little longer just so he could watch you and maybe throw out a question or two. Like why are there two soaps? Why are there different serums for different days? And then once a week, after you put on a face mask, he would pull you into his lap on the couch and complain about how you didn’t let him have any kisses. Instead, he settled for holding you closer and tickling your neck with kisses. Living together was pretty great.

One day he finally gave in. You both just finished drying off after a heated shower in each other’s company, when you started putting on this week’s face mask. Korai looked at you in the mirror with a soft frown as he snaked his arms around your waist and cuddled into your neck. It had been a long week, he was so tired from this damn sport he loved so much and felt a little extra thankful today that he got to come home to you. So when you asked “You want a face mask as well?” like you always did, he let out a small sigh before giving in.
“Yes, I do.”
After the short process of getting the mask on for each of you, trading giggles with hesitant grimaces, you both sat on the couch with a timer on your phone and some movie you had watched before on the TV. You even convinced him to put on a cute frog headband to keep his hair away from his face.
While you sat with your legs across his lap and told him about one of your colleagues’ gossip, he looked at his phone and picked it up when it rang. He just glanced at the name of the caller, too into your story to check anything else. Korai hummed as you slowed down your talking to see who it was as well.
“I’ll just check what he wants,” Korai mumbled. The two of you had taken so many cute selfies with the masks on that he didn’t realise the reason he could see the two of you on his screen now was because it was a video call.
Korai seemed to choke on his breath when his screen suddenly showed Kageyama and Hinata with a small image of you and him in the corner. Wearing... face masks and headbands. The girly kind. During Korai’s shock, there was unfortunately time for the man on the other line to fumble his way to the screenshot buttons.
“Idiotyama!! Why would you video me on a Friday evening?” Korai yelled, handing the phone to you and letting his head fall back against the sofa in humiliation. There goes my whole image, he thought dramatically. He couldn’t even cover his face with his hands in shame and instead just pointed an empty stare at the ceiling.
“Me and Kageyama needed to settle something but now I can’t remember what it was. Oh, hi y/n!” the orange-haired man said cheerfully. With a sweet smile, you held a short conversation with them before hanging up. Phone on the table, you put your arms back around your boyfriend’s neck and wondered what you should say. He put his arms loosely around you and waited in silence for you to find the right words.
“I think you look very pretty.”

Hinata and Kageyama had learnt a thing or two about teasing from their older teammates, and you bet the screenshot of you and Korai in pink face masks was sent to the Japan Olympic group chat with a nice ‘hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing weekend just like the little giant!’
Let’s just say you were struggling to hold back your laughter while you finally helped him wash the mask off after the timer went off. Korai was silent, keeping his eyes closed until you pressed a kiss to his freshly washed cheek when you were done. “Wearing a face mask isn’t embarrassing, Korai,” you told him, sneaking your hands under his shirt to warm them.
“You wouldn’t understand,” he sighed, unintentionally pouting like a little boy and tracing his hands around to squeeze your bum like stress balls. Of course, the others didn’t actually care that much if any of the guys used a face mask, it’s just so funny because it’s Korai. He always takes the bait when they tease him.
So as you two finally curled up in bed, you let him spoon you this time with his strong arms curling around you. It made him feel a bit better as you cuddled into him. The morning after was spent cosying up under the sheets and enjoying each other’s bodies before going on your routine weekend jog together. Everything seemed back to normal.
Except that your boyfriend was plotting for the best revenge against his friends.
please excuse the timeline ignorance between the Adlers and the Olympics, it's just a little bonus because I love the Adlers trio
Monday came and Korai went off to work early in the morning. He put the lunch you packed him in his bag and pecked your lips before he was out the door.
“You’re glowing, Hoshiumi.” Kageyama tried his luck early on during warm-ups.
“What am I, pregnant?” Korai spat back. Kageyama just kept smiling at his own joke.
Ushijima switched which arm he was stretching and observed Hoshiumi. “Your skin does look refreshed, maybe we should all get face masks with y/n.”
“I know it does but get your own partner, man.” He just mumbled, moving away to warm up with a ball on the other side of the court. They were so going to get it for teasing him one day.
