the sbahj canon diverges. so many sbahj in-jokes exclusive to the prospitian ship. unfortunately the retcon make it so none of this ever happens :(

he’d never say it but davesprite likes it when john and jade fall asleep on him doing whatever, it makes his presence feel wanted and appreciated by the people he sacrificed his self and humanhood for good for. sorry for immediately going into davesprite but good god is he tragic. oh yeah heres more. he’s still part dave and shares the same history with john and jade that alpha timeline dave does. john gave him his shades on his 13th birthday in december 2008, he sent john the con air bunny and jade a physical copy of sbahj as furries in the mail. he is identical to alpha dave in relation to his friends before the timeline splits off. dont forget that 4/13/2009 was also his first time meeting his online friends john and jade in person, even after 4 months chronologically of sburb grinding—nearly a year with all the time shenanigans—and going back to day 1, since john and jade were dead in his timeline

[vitiligo-is-not-a-trend]

Hello!! How are you? I’m a writer and I’d like to incorporate someone with vitiligo into my story, however, I don't know much, which is kind of a problem seeing as I want to be sensitive to the community. Would you be so kind as to tell me some things you do/don't want to see in characters that have vitiligo? Thank you so much!

Hi! Im good thanks for asking, hope you're also doing well!

That's a wonderful question! Before I start I'm just gonna say these are my views on the subject so if anyone else with vitiligo wants to chime in please do so! I'm probably gonna miss a few things!

Let's start with the donts first, and I very much appreciate the fact that you also asked for dos!

I think one of the more a major issues I see around vitiligo have to do with the way in which it's designed. I've made a few posts about it in the past with more details, I think theyre tagged under "character design( tips)". So doing things like making repeated shape patterns like hearts or animal prints or like skulls or whatever is Not Great. This includes making humanized versions of animals. Like recently for the new Puss in Boots movie a lot of people were drawing Kitty Softpaws as a human with vitiligo, and that just...does not feel great lmao. I am aware that things like that don't come from malice but it feels like being compared to an animal in a way.

Another issue I've seen is when it comes to how the character developed vitiligo it happened due to some curse or magic or (demonic) possession something along those lines. This is also a very bad idea, seeing as it's basically demonizing the condition.

Vitiligo is also complicated when it comes to its genetic. There are working theories/plausible explanations for how it occurs but there are a lot of varying factors. However, it is NOT passed down genetically (to an extent) so having a child does NOT mean that you're character's child will also have the condition. It is also not something you get get at birth/in the womb.

Don't change the coloration of it! Vitiligo is DEFINED as a lack of pigmentation, not a change in it, so you can't have characters walking around with pink and patches. You could make an argument with yellow if its for legos I guess but unless you're drawing every white person lego as that neon yellow I'd avoid it still.

Don't only give it your characters of color!! Especially if you only have a few! I feel like this is something I see frequently unfortunately, but having a character with vitiligo or albinism or pibaldism or whatever doesnt make a character less or more of one race or another. I saw a post where someone said it's "curing POC" so....yeah big yikes. I know because it's not as visible on white people some people dont think they can have it, and it doesnt get used frequently in examples which doesnt really help so yeah.

Also try not to make them a villian especially if theyre the only character with vitiligo

As for the Dos:

I'd love to see a character embrace this aspect of themselves. I know a lot of people and for a very long time myself include feel a sense of shame about it. It took me years to get to a point where I feel comfortable let alone happy about having it.

I'd love to see another character comment on it with a compliment, and have the majority of other characters reacting positively and/or neutrally towards its.

However this is technically a disability and there are people out there that do make fun of people for having it so maybe lightly touching on that would also be a good idea. if you don't feel comfortable out-right writing a scene like that, mentioning things in passing like "oh yeah I got bullied for it when I was younger" or "I actually used to cover it up with clothes and makeup" are good ideas.

Having your character also be aware of things like the time and UV index and whether or not they have sunscreen on is also important. Vitiligo is essentially the lack of melanin, which means that there's no real natural defense against sun exposure at play so being sensitive/aware of these things is a good idea especially if they're fairly new to the condition.

Maybe there's another character that also has vitiligo present in at least some aspect. Whether its just some person that your character looks up to and doesn't know personally, but knowing that they have it makes them feel better about themselves. For me this was Michael Jackson!

This is technically kind of a dont but vitiligo spots are very different depending on the variation that a person has! Spots seem to have a relatively slow progression and, as I mentioned, depending on variation, might not progress at all past certain areas. So if the character has a more progressing variation like Universal or Segmental maybe another character can note that a patch or few have gotten larger since they've last saw them especially if its been awhile and not like last moth.

I just would like to take a moment to talk about my fave headcanons i have for all the characters

Akira:

he is the most OVER DRAMATIC bitch on this earth

he definitely did theatre at some point in his life

after his arrest he sometimes gets really nervous and has trouble conveying his words. he stumbles over them and cant convey his point well

ann and haru like to braid his hair sometimes

when he was younger he faked not being able to see so he could get glasses, it didnt work tho

so hence now he wears fashion glasses

he had braces in middle school

there is One(1) picture of middle school akira. One

he 1000000000% believes in ghosts and has since he was a child

aliens though? not real.

takes lots of selfies when he moves back and sends them to his friends often

biggest flirt but if u flirt back with him he. Dies cannot talk his face is fully red and hes hiding behind his hands

takes every opportunity to visit his friends 

claims hes not a sap but futuba swears she saw him crying over a handwritten thank you card from ‘’that one arcade kid names the kind or smth’’

Ryuji:

when he was a kid he has a fluffy mess of hair similar to akiras and it was the cutest thing ever

he needs reading glasses but no one knows because hes embarrassed by them

he likes to doodle on papers, hes not an artist but he likes to make dorky quick drawings in the corner of his paper

he has trouble focuing sometimes and likes to tap his foot silently or draw lines on paper to help him focus

calls yusuke and akira pretty boy by habit, it started as teasing but then it just became a Habit

Hello!

My name is Neo. I am a neurodivergent young adult from the United States.

Neurodivergent, you say?

Yes! Neurodivergent means my brain does not function the same way that a typical human does. However that does not stop me from living a normal, everyday life just like everyone else!

I have Asperger’s Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder (MaDD), and Dyscalculia, all diagnosed. It is also highly suspected that i have Bipolar Disorder and Trichotillomania (TTM), suggested to me by people who have either condition.

Being subject to these conditions, I have quite a few struggles in my daily life. I have sensory issues, so things like uncomfortable clothes and strong scents can make it so I’m unable to function at full capacity. If these sensory issues are pushed further and further, I am at risk of going into a sensory overload or a meltdown. That only happens very rarely for me, though.

My attention span is very flaky, and I have a difficult time staying on one topic for long periods of time. I need constant changing stimuli for me to not burn out while on a task. This ironically contributes to hyperfixation, an intense focus on one particular thing for a period of time. I know, that seems like the opposite of what I said before, but they are linked. See, hyperfixation isn’t exactly something that can be forced. When hyperfocusing, I may not be able to take myself out of that particular focus, and it consumes all my thoughts for however long my brain decides to hyperfixate on it. This contributes to my flaky attention span because instead of being able to force myself to focus on something im supposed to be doing, instead the brain goes “no, you’re going to think about this one thing and we’re going to make it very hard for you to focus on anything BUT this one thing. Special Interests (SI’s) follow a similar, yet more intense pattern. SI’s last much longer, if not lifelong for me. Theyre more prominent and effective on my life than my hyperfixations.

This is where MaDD comes into play. MaDD is a condition that can be adopted and unlearned. The DSM doesn’t recognize it as an official disorder, but it is a condition that exists in many people, especially people with attention or anxiety related contitions. MaDD shares a lot of traits with cases of addiction too, however this one is much easier to take control of and is not exactly harmful. The first word, maladaptive, can be broken in half: Mal and Adaptive. Mal means bad or poor, and adaptive means the ability to adapt. Maladaptive Daydreaming basically means daydreaming that causes poor adaptation skills. MaDDers are typically those who have conditions like Autism, AD(H)D, OCD, General Anxiety, and Dyslexia. Most people adopt the technique of Maladaptive Daydreaming in their childhood or early teens and if not caught early on, can last their entire lives. However, MaDD isn’t essentially a harmful thing. Like I said, it’s easily controlled. You may be asking, “what exactly is it about MaDD that causes poor adaptation? its just daydreaming.” MaDDers daydream at an average of 6 hours minimum a day. These daydreams are intense and easily triggered by everyday things like music, art, friends, even normal emotional events. MaDDers tend to use these dreams as an escape from reality but also a reality of their own, like a lucid dream but for your waking self. The daydreams tend to have intricately woven worlds, stories, chracters, and plots, all feeling just as real to the dreamer as the rest of life itself. MaDDers tend to daydream to escape real situations they may not want to be a part of and sometimes even cancel plans just to continue to daydream.

Why are you telling me all of this? This all seems so personal and insignificant to me.

This is FAR from insignificant to anyone. You may not be Autistic or a MaDDer or even neurodivergent, but I know that as a human being you still have lots of struggles, just like me. Ive told you all about my struggles and you’re probably thinking “wow how pathetic, they cant control their own brain.” Yeah actually, I can. Even if you weren’t thinking that, (which I actually highly doubt anyone was thinking that I just wanted to put an example of worst case scenario) what if I told you that no matter what, no matter who you were or what you were going through, you can still grab hold of yourself and make your life yours? You better believe it, because despite all the conditions I just told you I have, I have taught myself to make my own path in life and not let my struggles decide what my fate is. I believe anything is possible with a little patience and elbow grease, so thats why I have made this blog. It is sorta a combination of a journal, an advice blog, and an inspirational quote blog. I want to be able to share my knowledge of my identity and experiences in order to hopefully inspire someone to get up out of the hole theyre stuck in and make their life their own again! I love the conditions I have, and I use their benefits as my superpowers and dont let the negative aspects of them hold me back. They are a part of me and who I am and I will treat them with just as much love and care as I should treat myself, and hopefully you can treat yourself with the same amount of love too <3

😳! HAHA im on my way to work rn so i cant indulge in a nice full color response like i wanna do, but later on at the desk i can reply to this again w some sketches :0

It started w me wanting to see Gladio in dreads bc theyre Nice and my dad started up the process to get them again about a year ago; like maybe younger gladio would have really thin braids at first bc its less ‘commitment’ but like, as hes training and running around with a busy schedule, the time between getting the braids, keeping up w them, and having to get them unbraided was Too Much Work so he just shaves it all off.

THEN i thought of him beginning to work on his dreads right before the roadtrip so like, for like a year he has the lil baby nubs hes been twisting up and i about died 😩✨he still keeps the sides shaved up until hes 24/25, where he decides to let them grow and even out the tips when they finally get long enough. My dad had his dreads on the thinner side and he was METICULOUS about the upkeep so they grew very fast and very strong, down to the crack of his ass lmao and while i would love to draw gladio w dreads of similar length, logically it would be hell. When its that long you get headaches (which is why my dad cut them off a couple years back), and like, in actual fights hairpulling is a legitimate tactic 😂 he just keeps it down to his shoulders for convenience

Noctis has either twists or super thin dreads that barely brush his shoulders, i cant decide. But they do wave in his face Alot and its fun thinking of him shaking his head for some reason and absolutely whipping his own damn face 😩 them shits is a Lethal Weapon. His dad helped him do his own twists for years when he was younger, and i like to think of Regis having his own dreads:> Hes got the nice gold and silver bands on some of his locks, and older!noctis adopts this as well post dawn. Prompto....has cute wavy hair. Ricky is a kind soul- he's never hurt a living creature on purpose, and he rarely gets angry. He's a family man at heart, and cares deeply about his wife and children. He prefers to stay in quiet places, and can more often than not found nestled in a good book. He loves to read and tends to dress repetitively, all of his clothes being the same patterns. He's very anxious and tends to be a bit shaky, and has bad handwriting (then again he does have hooves).

Rodeo is a wild guy. He is extremely erratic, sometimes bordering on chaotic and unpredictable. He's unhealthy and tends to eat a lot of junk food- literally. He eats other peoples' garbage. He can come off as a bit rude and uncaring, mainly because it's true- there's very little you can say to interest him. He's a party animal and loves to scream. He's never been seen without his trademark sunglasses, even indoors and at night.

some fun facts and trivia: -ricky’s family is mentioned but i have no idea what they look like and they don’t have names -ricky hates being called dick. he finds it annoying and obscene please be nice to him -rodeo’s real name is also ricky. rodeo’s his lifelong nickname and people just accept that’s what he was born with at this point (the reasoning for this is at the end of the post) -rodeo has those super beady opossum eyes and that’s why he wears sunglasses all the time, he’s self-conscious! -rodeo is a kleptomaniac. his fellow criminal buddy socks is too, sometimes they meet up and show all the cool things they’ve snatched from people’s pockets -rodeo always wearing sunglasses is also kind of projection! i wear a hat 24/7 and don’t take it off around other people, it helps with my dysphoria -rodeo is gay as FUCK and aromantic. ricky is cishet and probably neurotypical but he’s trying his best and im so happy for him -i’m so bad at drawing antlers that i usually draw ricky without them. i blame it on “oh deer shed their antlers every year!!! dont call me out” it only works a quarter of the time -as all my ocs from this universe are based on skulls i own, there are obviously gonna be a few that are banged up, broken or even shattered into fragments sometimes: -rodeo lost one of his closest friends (another criminal buddy) in a car wreck. this mirrors how the raccoon skull i was about to get was from a roadkill victim. it was broken and i wasn’t able to get it unfortunately. its name was bandit :[ -rodeo has ptsd as a result of the loss and blames himself for bandit’s death. he hates himself but he’d never admit it, he covers it up with fake pride -ricky really doesn’t like being involved with lawbreakers like rodeo, and would really prefer he just leave him alone. rodeo originally just did stuff to bother him, but now they kinda consider each other friends of sorts -the skull ricky is based on is from a doe, not a buck! this is another reason he usually is drawn without antlers -i have no idea what rodeo’s sex was when he was alive -my brother gave me ricky, and originally thought he was a dog skull. now that i know what those look like i can see how obnoxiously wrong he was. he was originally a badass biker wolf with rodeo’s personality more or less -after realizing he was a deer, his design was changed to match that; his new name was sputnik, a deer with the colors of the bisexual flag -sputnik is still technically an oc i guess, but his colors were lightened big time when he was basically converted into ricky -sputnik’s personality was very similar to ricky’s though with much MUCH less development. he was more of a hippie -rodeo was my first skull ever and after realizing opossums are also badass bikers, just more like rats, i projected ricky’s original personality onto him and it’s stuck ever since! -since ricky was rodeo’s original name, i kinda just tacked that on as being his real name -sputnik doesn’t --- wait hold the FUCK UP i can ditch ron gta 5 deer skull edition in favor of an actual oc NICE -socks doesnt even have a real name theyre just named socks BDGHJBFGJ -this is rodeo in real life! -and here’s ricky in real life!

As to fave scene (again, only through the first 8), I kind of liked the dawning revelation of gender on Ethan's part. Just cleverly foreshadowed by the townsperson, then interesting graphics as the lightbulb went on.

I wonder about the connection to Earth! Especially the existence of the railroad. It seems like technology levels vary wildly across Keol: where Ethan landed, there were simple farms all around, and he and the party boarded a sailing boat. Now their destination has a railroad (with what looks like a diesel locomotive) and all of the tech that requires. I wonder if the railroad is around because of its proximity to the city with all the Red Gaters? Those who come through the Gate bringing their knowledge with them?

Ellen von Unwerth:’ Let’s photograph girlfriends experiencing life’

Blending old-world charm with a uniquely provocative eroticism, Ellen von Unwerths photographs are a riot of merriment and sly subversion. Richard Godwin sounds why it is also necessary go ourselves less seriously

Ellen von Unwerth cant stop laughter. The German photographer, 63, is bouncing all over the Taschen gallery in West Hollywood in her sneakers, attempting to talk through the likeness from her latest expo and prowes volume, Heimat .

So heimat represents Fatherland or Motherland or where you were born and where your roots are, she tells me. Bavaria is not my heimat , but we wanted to make a lampoon of the whole Bavarian thing.

The whole Bavarian occasion, apparently, involves supermodels frolicking nude in Alpine grasslands, performing suggest ordinances with sausages, udders and piou innocents, sledging topless, spanking one another in dirndls and generally experiencing the fecundity and vigor for which the countries of the south German ascents are celebrated. Oh, ja , its very sex there, even the clothes they push up the breasts and there are lots and lots of sausages, ha ha ha, she interprets. But you realise so many personas that are dark and depressing at the moment. All these lamentable girls being lamentable! So I figured, lets show girls having fun and experiencing life.

Von Unwerth has a strange flair for getting famous and beautiful women( Claudia Schiffer, Madonna, Naomi Campbell, Rihanna, Kate Moss) to remove their inhibitions and frequently their underwear while at the same time maintaining self-restraint. Her portraits are often provocatively sexual, but its generally her topics who are doing the elicit. I ever give them something to do, she discloses. When someone not moving I get bored. I take two word-paintings and I say: Great, I have it now. But I love their own bodies in push. I like the nude mas in movement.

The fashion world adores her for this. You could tell from the raucous opening defendant for Heimat , where Arnold Schwarzenegger improbably scratched shoulders with Yolandi Visser, and most of the models from the hit ceased up jump-start in a swimming pool. Von Unwerths Instagram feed is just one of the few that clear pattern weeks actually search fun. On International Womens Day, the fashiony corners of Instagram were awash with tributes to her: You make fun, sexy, craziness to give. I ever experience pushing my boundaries, hugging my femininity/ virility and of course my personality always raucous and proud when we work together, wrote one example, Alexina Graham. Ellen von Unwerths playful and empowering photos are such a exultation to be a part of and I am so happy she is there to represent women in such a male reigned professing! wrote another, Syrie Moskowitz.

It is clear that everyone had a whole lot of snickers in Bavaria. Von Unwerth flows towards an image of three women topless on a sled: This example is Miss Russia and she brought a lot of vodka to the kill. So the latter are boozing behind my back in the snow. Von Unwerth is not much given to analysing. When I allude to the male gape she has no theory what Im talking about. When I find myself comprehending for the word porn she hit back: Have you ever seen a porno? Well, one of your envisions does literally outline two beings having sex in a hayloft. Its more inspired by a B-movie sense of camp. I wouldnt say porno.( After our interrogation, one of her deputies calls me to make sure that I dont think its prurient .)

Of course, the word I should have reached for was sexual. Or perhaps simply German. Look at the scandal there was with Janet Jackson over here, she says referring to the Super Bowl nipple slip of 2004. It was a tit! Its something you should be proud of and not obscure. Especially if its nice. Ha ha ha ha! In Germany it is not like this. Even if you go to a common in Berlin in the summer, everybody is naked and playing frisbee. You would get arrested if you did that in LA.

Von Unwerth was birth in Frankfurt in 1954 and grown up in an orphanage and a succession of foster homes. She has no recollection of her parents and not much inclination to reflect on their absence. Its what drew “peoples lives”, she says. I was free from affect and I was able to take best available from everywhere. I dont truly have a heimat . So her heimat is wherever she happens to be? Exactly.

She moved to Bavaria aged 16 to join a commune and later went to study in Munich. On her first day at university person said: Hey, would you like to do a modelling enterprise? And I turned around and never went back to university. That led to a shoot for the German magazine Bravo , which in turn led to her being signed by Elite simulates in Paris. I kind of hated modelling, but somehow I did it for 10 years. I was not really the exhibitionist kind. Its hard psychologically to be a model. And predominantly beings told me not to move when I was posing. I just wanted to be like the girls in my scenes now.

It was exclusively in 1986 that she firstly started taking picture herself a boyfriend lent her his camera on a fashion product in Kenya and she went into a nearby hamlet to kill local children. I came back home and established them to my friends and they were like: Theyre really good, Ellen! Because prototypes are supposed to be stupid. I was astonished myself because I wasnt so interested in photography. I had never learnt how to do it.

Her portraits were published in the French periodical Jill , and she went on to shoot for i-D , the Face , Interview and Vogue , in the vein of her greatest force Helmut Newton. It was a shoot with the then unknown Claudia Schiffer for French Elle in 1988 that cleared both of their occupations. She was a sugared girl and I didnt think so much of it, but when I looked at the pictures, I called my husband[ music producer Christian Fourteau] and said: Doesnt she look like Brigitte Bardot? The teeth, the eyes? Soon after we did the Guess jeans campaign and it was a jumpstart to my vocation. She also detected Eva Herzigov( shes gushing with vigour) and Nadja Auermann, and hit the notorious 1995 Playboy shoot that announced that Drew Barrymore was no longer the girl from ET . She has remained in demand even though the smartphone epoch has debased the art.

Its not special any more to be a photographer, she says. Even when I take a drawing, everybody countenances next to me and takes the same video. Five minutes later its on everyone elses Instagram and Im old information so Im forced to take paints on my iPhone too.

She tells me she can usually tell the difference between a photo a follower has taken and one a woman has taken. But I find it crazy how girls photograph themselves all the time. When I was a girl and searched in the reflect, my stepmother would come in and give me a slap. There was this idea that if you did that, the demon would get in you and steal your temperament. Now everyone does this. I question patterns sometimes, Do you were supposed to take so many selfies? And “theyre saying”: Simply when I take selfies do I get likes. Its heartbreaking! Narcissism is so celebrated in our society, sometimes beings lose interest in other people.
