i have once again procrastinated an entire essay to the night before it’s due

#it’s my english exam #i fucking hate it bc she’s never taught us how to do mla with multiple sources #and that she wants us to find a common theme between the sources and the also state our opinion and back up both with evidence???#even though the prompt she put down only wants us to find the common theme??#i get that it would be harder since it’s an AA class but at the same time she’s never taught this to us so #also the last time we did an essay was back in fucking october. it been 8 months since we did actual writing and now this shit.#i liked what she did for the first semester exam #which was vocab grammar and asking us questions about the last piece we read #she’s a nice person but a really shitty teacher #and i’m honestly glad to be done with her class #i’m just hoping i don’t get her next year #my biggest thing is that she’s very disorganized. like she tried to set up a structure for this year #but it was all over the place and way more complicated than it should’ve been #she’d have separate writing journals for last names a-l and m-z #which the assignments still show up for everyone and are marked overdue if you don’t do them #so i just have like 30 overdue assignments bc i didn’t have to do the other journal.#made this instead of writing bc fuck that #sigh #kay speaks

study to do list april - may 2024

I am back into my studying routine and so I am writing a master to do list for my uni work for the next couple of months. This is going to be edited so much in the next few weeks, but having a bit public to do list is a good way to stay motivated and track my progress during long periods. The end goal of the next couple of months is to take two exams in the summer session, I will pick the precise dates as I work on everything but they will either be in June or at the beginning of July. Both require me writing a paper before the oral exam, which is not something I have to do often so it's going to be extra work for me.

English lit

reread the merchant of venice while annotating all the useful passages for the paper

reread and adjust previously made annotations on MOV text

read and annotate the sources I had previously found

look for more sources for the paper

read and annotate said sources

plan paper structure

first draft (depending on how it turns out to be decide whether to write it in Italian or English)

edit first draft

additional edits (?)

reread richard II

reread important passages in paradise lost

additional reread of the merchant of venice to prepar for the oral exam (so not focusing only on the paper topics)

write key words for each scene in the plays

reread assigned articles (RII, MOV, PL) write/check notes about them (RII, MOV, PL)

reread notes taken in class

out loud reviews

Modern history lab

fix notes after every lecture in order to stay on top of things

start writing down potential presentation/paper ideas

look for sources

read and annotate sources

I don’t think I ever actually said this on here, basically for one of my mock english gcse exams for the “write a story” section I wrote a time travel / somewhere else jonmartin fic. literally. the prompt was “something surprising” I think, and I just went well. waking up in an alternate universe would be pretty damn surprising. and it was just jon waking up in bed with no scars and no eyepocalypse and going “wHEre’S mArTiN” and I got a grade 9 (A**). so yeah that happened
