#it's probably because it's easier to have them all look the same within the game but honestly variation would be cool as frick

Being a Canon divergent thunder manifestation is wack because... why do all the canon ones look the same? I know there's variation in those guys, like I think my source has ones with feathered, webbed or even moth-like wings, different ear types and even different colours (I'm a darker grey with deep purple accents).
Same applies to lochfolks and even pariyan too (In fact, I think those guys are distant cousins to us?)

tension rises when you are tackled, right in front of misa’s nose. instead of yelling at her backline for getting them a penalty, misa is mad that her teammate has hurt her girlfriend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Matches like these were both a blessing and a curse— for you’d finally have some time to see each other again after weeks of working for your designated clubs, but it also meant that one of you would be left disappointed with the results of the match. Still, to Misa, it was worth every defeat to see her favourite girl again in the flesh, preferably with the biggest grin on your face. That did not mean Misa would not give it her all while underneath the post for the entirety of the match, which was exactly why she needed no distractions. Misa never really had any problem to switch her focus on while stepping onto the field, and even if the sight of you running around near her was tempting to distract her, she still only had focus on the ball and the player making it move. She knew she had most of the next day to give you all the attention you deserved, but right now, that attention had to be focused elsewhere. That hadn’t stopped her from sneaking her usual mischievous grin your way when the two of you shook hands, though. The fact that it never failed to spur on some kind of blush on your face filled her with even more confidence. So as she ran up to her goal, she knew this was going to be a good day. Her girlfriend was in her line of sight, breathing the same air, and no longer only on her screen, the sun was out and she had a match to play, what could go wrong?
Well, she could lose said match, and she’d be pretty damn mad about it if she did, because she’d blame it on herself mostly, but she’d take the hit if that meant you would be sporting that big and beautiful grin of yours. Only, you weren't. Your bottom lip was curled inside and trapped beneath your teeth as your eyebrows were set in furious frustration. Misa would have found it adorable in any other situation, especially if she’d been the one to block your goal and then sent a wink your way, but the backline of Real Madrid just wouldn’t budge and let you through. Granted, that was their job. Misa was fine with that, if anything, it made her own job more easier and their win within reach, but she knew how frustrating a game could be when it did not go in your favour. That no matter the tactic that had been practised over and over, was not coming to fruition. It didn’t help that your team was mostly playing you long balls to surpass the midfield, leaving you standing isolated from the others and having to outwit Real’s defending wall by yourself. After the 39nth minute, Athenea’s shot hit the back of the net, heightening the stakes and the frustrations even more. It had become a physical match, consisting of shoves, tackles, pulls and harsh collisions. Just no cards yet, though that was waiting to happen next. It probably hadn’t happened yet because both teams could be equally blamed, and that would leave either team with little to no players left on the field.
Next, some through balls were intervened before they even reached you, and after glancing to the sidelines every so often and realising the coach had no plans of changing tactics yet, you balled your fists and disappeared off the pitch at halftime in lightning speed.
This behaviour was not foreign to Misa, so she followed after her team to the locker room. Football was a passionate sport, one she could lose herself in in the same way you did, and you were a passionate player. It was one of the things she loved so deeply about you. Not that a lot of people knew, of course. She never really saw use in mixing work with pleasure and although, yes, dating a fellow futbolista was blurring those lines a bit, she would never give her girlfriend special treatment when on the pitch.
“Looks like she’s been missing you like crazy, the way she’s been bullying us to get to you.” Olga glanced at her, playfully raising an eyebrow, knowing of the couple.
“More like you're bullying her,” Misa raised her eyebrow in return, challenging her, but the grin on her face mirrored her lightheartedness.
“I’m not going to take it easy on her, if that’s what you mean.”
“She’s just another player on the pitch for me. Can’t have my career jeopardised because I froze on purpose to let my girlfriend score against me.”
“Ice cold, you are,” Olga laughed, “But that’s only if they get through us. We’re holding up well so far.”
Misa hummed while taking a sip from her bottle. She wiped her chin dry, “Hm, thank you for that. I’d rather you deny her a goal. I do not want to sleep on the couch tonight if I end up stopping their first attempt.”
Olga rolled her eyes, “That’s not going to happen and you know it.”
“Best to be safe.”
“I mean, she does seem scary. The way she growled when she got smacked down or shoved against us! Girl has attitude.” Raso piped up from beside them, having heard bits from their conversation, “Just a bit, though…” She quickly added when she noticed Misa’s stare.
But to Misa, passion was passion. And as much passion and love you had for the game, you also had in multitude for her. The goalie suddenly turned chipper, her expression brightening as she stood up to get back on the field.
“I know. Isn’t she the best?”
As the whistle blew again, Misa noticed the fury had only barely left your body— your shoulders still held tension and your gaze still spat fire. The sight shouldn’t have worked her up the way it had, but she couldn’t help it. There was something extremely alluring and, dare she say it- incredibly hot -  knowing that you had this side to you as well, in stark contrast to your usual soft and giddy demeanour off the pitch. It was normally the other way around, with her being the fiery one. She loved whenever you got like this. When you would fight, not flee. Whenever your looks could kill, albeit unknowingly. Misa had only seen it a handful of times before and each time it had left her feeling primal. But this was not the time to let that feeling take over. She was at work, there were eyes on her, and she’d already been tagged in the occasional post that suggested the two of you were a couple. It wasn’t like she was ashamed of herself or her relationship, no, quite the opposite. But Misa was protective over the small pink cloud she’d been on ever since being with you and, to be completely honest, she was too greedy and wanted no one to be let in on their love. It was all yours and yours only. Misa had never really been like that before. Granted, this was her first serious relationship, and if it were up to her, also her last.  Still, she could tell that this was special, nothing ordinary. The real deal. She was protective and dominate in the sense that her hand would always hover on your lower back, she'd hand you her jacket or have a bag with snacks and other necessities at the ready for you. She’d always drive the car and open a door or sent a nasty glare towards anyone making you uncomfortable. Since day one, she had promised herself to make life the best it could be for her girlfriend. She’d picked up on your tells, knew what you liked and hated simply by reading your face. She could tell when you needed her, or when you needed some space. Communication was hardly ever needed when Misa always already seemed to know what you thought or felt. It surprised you, at first, how considerate and caring she was. It also embarrassed you for ever thinking the girl didn't have it in her. In your defence, that side had only come out when the two of you had gotten closer. You'd quickly understood that Misa was a guarded person when it came to letting someone in further than surface level, and that made the roar of pride and love you held for her burn at the realisation that she'd let you in. Waters run deep, and Misa had been the deepest damn part of the ocean at first, but here you were now. You were hers, and she was yours.
Misa never really thought too much about it like that. She just loved you more than she ever knew she could love someone. It was a simple fact, not something she pulled apart to examine. She treated you like a princess, simply because that was exactly what you deserved. Treating you to the best of her capabilities wasn't even a chore. She loved it all. It had even been an ongoing joke within your shared group of friends that Misa mirrored the behaviour of that of a lion and her cubs, but that was just the way Misa was when in love. Fiercely protective, incredibly loyal and with an abundance of love and adoration to give to those she cared for. And just to your luck, there was only one name her heart was chanting over and over again. It was admirable, endearing even, that someone could love so hard. It had only ever gotten her in trouble once, when you had tagged along to a club with Misa’s national team friends and a guy had cornered you on your to the restroom. It had ended the night abruptly with a calm but firm warning to leave the club, but it had also kept you out of harms way. A fair deal, if you asked her.
It was evident right from the start that your team had changed things up. The formation had changed, for starters. The gap between midfield and you had closed up and the defence seemed to stay behind more, guarding the wings. No more long balls, but quick-fire attacking play. With Real’s change to press more on the attack during this half, it left spaces between defending players large enough for the opposing team to work around. Misa’s voice bellowed across the field as she warned her backline to fall back, having seen through the next attack. They quickly did, and so your team retaliated a bit, passing and playing to find open spaces or to lure the defence out. A bad pass and Real was at play again, pushing forward and closing spaces to prevent a counter. But you hovered around, eyes squinted and focused on the ball and the placement of your teammates. You were closing in on Real Madrid, just as you’d practised. It was a surprise intercepted tackle that left Raso without the ball, looking backwards to see how it had gone back into play.
On her side of the pitch, with a little more overview, Misa saw before the rest how you ran in line with the ball flying through the air— eyes focused on it like a hawk to try and not fuck this up by being too eager and thus running off-side.
“Oye!” Misa yelled at her backline, who caught on just as quickly. She watched as your form neared and Misa tried to anticipate how to block out the goal. She was used to running out and taking the ball out of play the ballsy way, but also knew that you were unpredictable thanks to your broad skillset. If she ran out, she wouldn’t put it past you to not cheekily chip it over her head before she had a chance. If she stayed on the line, she knew that you’d just sent the ball flying into the far outer corner, just out of her reach. If she waited a little longer to try and use her gift to read you so effortlessly during football as well, then maybe the momentum would already be gone.
Then she saw it. Even if it was only the slightest inclination to your next movement, Misa knew— you were going to shoot it in the far corner, having felt the defenders of Real Madrid closely behind you and knowing they would not let you get any step closer to the goal if you didn’t act soon. Misa shuffled to the right side, anticipating your shot when she saw Olga appear behind you. She heard the thump of your body dropping against the ground like a bag of sand, the grunt that left your throat and the crowd that went haywire as you came to a nasty fall in the penalty box. The ref immediately ran over, the red card dooming high above Olga’s face. But that wasn’t the only red thing on the pitch.
Misa saw red. Seethed. Glared. Grind her teeth together and locked her jaw. Olga listened to the ref, while you were still on your stomach, turning your hands to see the burn marks of your fall and slowly pushing yourself up on your knees. A blur of bright green approached you in a flash and a large glove was protectively placed on your shoulder.
“I’m okay, only some burns.” You immediately reassured, having seen the painfully worried look on Misa’s face. She hated whenever you were hurt or sad, and if you didn't know any better, you'd say she'd usually feel just as sad or hurt whenever you did. If only such a thing was possible, you knew Misa would always swap places with you so you didn't have to feel it. She looked into your eyes to find the confirmation, her gaze soft and caring, until it hardened again when she looked back up at hearing the squabble happening behind you. She gave you a curt nod as she carefully helped you back to your feet. You shook out your limbs a bit and dusted the grass of your kit when that same flash of neon green whizzed by you in your peripheral. She put herself right within the circle of arguing players and the referee. But where other Real players where trying to get the ref on their side, Misa immediately turned to Olga, joining your teammates.
“What was that?! Was that necessary?”
Olga, surprised at the sudden turn of conversation, took in Misa’s intimidating form looming over her.
“That was mine to save, not yours.” Misa continued.
It was painfully clear that Misa's outburst was about the tackle with the amount of passion she spat her words and how she’d checked up on you earlier, not the penalty it had bestowed against her team.
Olga put up her hands, knowing there was no calming Misa down right now. Not when she was in game-mode and, hells, not when she'd just hurt her girlfriend.
“Easy, alright, I’m sorry. I miscalculated.”
“Yeah, you did,” Misa felt the ref’s hand push her back, heard the warnings of getting a card, then another set of hands, Raso, who gently pulled her back, before a more familiar touch gently held onto her underarm.
“It’s okay, shake it off, I’m okay.” She heard from behind her, your thumb grazing over her tattoos. Posing as a barrier, she stood in front of you, one of her gloved hands behind, careful to keep you there, watching with squinted eyes as the group of players dispersed when the ref blew the whistle and pointed to the penalty spot.
“I’m not taking it,” She heard you say and she immediately whipped around.
She knew you were only saying so as to not put Misa in even more of a mental predicament, but she didn’t want you tapping out of what could be an opportunity to put another goal behind your name.
“Que?! No, you were done wrong, so you’re taking it.” Immediately back into focus, she walked to the line, looking everywhere except at you, not wanting to heighten your nerves. Perhaps she’d been a little too harsh, but there were still eyes on her and she didn’t want to give anyone watching even more to gossip about— she’d simply make it up to you later. After all, on the pitch, you were just any other football player to her… even if she’d just yelled at her own teammate for taking you down, and not even for the right reasons.
Adrenaline coursed through her veins. She reached her arms up, bounced on her toes and then clenched and unclenched her hands into fists. She was ready. But were you? Finally, she had to avert her eyes to you. Your chest expanded with the big breath you took, digging the points of your cleats into the grass to get more grip in your shoe. Four steps back. Hands beside your hips. Pulling your jersey down. Adjusting your right sock. Misa knew this by heart, even if she’d only ever had you in front of her goal for penalties during training on your time off together.
The shrill sound of the whistle rang across the pitch.
She could practically see the strength amping up in your legs on your run to the ball. Your left hip was slightly off, the weight in your body more to the right and as you leaned back, even ever so slightly, she knew you were going for the far right corner, perhaps the same thing you'd had in mind before you had been taken down. You knew she'd know this, maybe you were trying to not give yourself the advantage over her by doing this, but Misa was not going to sit back and let it soar in.
Misa jumped, reached out, her fingertips grazing the ball before it hit the lower side of the bar and hit the net after an echoing clink. The crowd went haywire again, this time for a more positive outcome.
Misa took the loss in stride and watched as you took your win in quite a similar way. Then, as everyone went back to their positions, she couldn’t help but have to bite back a cheeky grin— she’d almost gotten in trouble for you again, but once more, it had been a fair exchange for your happiness.

THE CREATOR'S BELOVED pt.3
____
You had grown quite tired of living in this same old bland room. And it isn't like the archons were hovering above you 24/7 like some kind of mosquito. I mean, they did have their duties to attend to after all. So most of the time you were left in the care of some servants and a few knights here and there.
You are but a weak, fragile mortal in their eyes. They weren't really all that worried about you running away, look at it, where could you even run away? No matter where you would still be in Teyvat so they would find you one way or another. Sure, it was annoying. But who was to say you can't leave Teyvat? There isn't really any concrete evidence. If you can be brought into this world, then surely you can also leave. That's how it always works.
Thinking of it now, it was weird. Like Genshin Impact is just a game. How could you even be brought here? As the 'Creator's beloved' nonetheless. All of this thinking was making your head hurt.
Exiting your room, you causally made your way towards the front door intending to leave as quickly as you can. But of course, things never go the way you want.
"Your Creator's Beloved, I do not think that you are permitted to leave at this time of the day." The head maid told you. She told you the same phrase everyday and you would sigh and go back to your room every single day. But man, not today. Today you were gonna wreak havoc upon everyone.
"Oops, would you look at that? I seem to have run out of the fucks I give."
"Your Creator's Beloved, that is extremely rude and inappropriate! I forbid you from going out."
"And I forbid you from speaking to me, bye Becca."
"Huh? That is not my na-" Before she could finish her sentence, you had already made your leave and were running faster than 'Becca' could with her old miserable legs. You didn't win gold medals in every marathon in your school for nothing.
___________
You didn't quite know which state you were in, none of the archons bothered telling you. You were but a mere decoration meant to please this Creator of theirs. You felt pissed. So obviously, you went and punched a tree and 2 or 3 lavender melons fell. At least you knew where you were now. Inazuma. Had the traveller reached here? Or were they still in Liyue perhaps? Maybe they could help you escape. I mean, they too are an outlander. Probably the only one to understand your struggles.
"Hey boss, check out that chick over there!"
"Damn, she would probably fetch a good amount."
You heard some voices not too far away and saw the treasure hoarders you would kill for your Kaeya. They rarely fucking dropped golden raven insignia.
"No thanks," You mumbled, getting ready to run away because you were no way in hell gonna fight these jacked-up guys. It was way easier to fight them in the game, but in real bro. You don't even have a fucking vision. The disrespect. Couldn't you at least have a vision? What's the point in being the creator's beloved.
And so you ran.
Well, you tried to. Hey, at least you tried! It's the thought that counts.
Somehow, don't ask how, somehow the Treasure Hoarders tied you up and were just talking within themselves. Rude to not even include you in the conversation!! Bitches.
"Man, her clothes look so luxurious too! Is she a rich man's daughter or some?"
"We ought to let her go. What if we get caught? Wouldn't be surprised. She looks hella loaded.."
And thus an argument began. Whether to let you go or keep you. Really, they didn't have a choice. The dumb Archons would probably find you easily.
But looks like you didn't have to wait for that to happen, because soon enough someone else arrived. And just blew all the Treasure hoarders away. Hahaha.
"Are you alright, miss?" The boy with white hair and a red streak politely asked you, sheathing his sword. ( is it katana or sword? )
"Uh, yes. I'm okay. Thank you!!" You replied, as he undid your bindings.
"I'm Kaedehara Kazuha, pleased to make your acquaintance." Kazuha smiled at you. Oh God, his cute little smile. You just wanna squish his cheeks.
"I'm...[Name]." You replied with a smile of your own. Your existence to the whole of Teyvat was practically unknown. Only the Archons and a few maids knew you existed. So perhaps, this can play in your favour.
"Well then, Miss [Name]. I will be heading off. I hope you return home safely!" He got up and started leaving, assuming your house was nearby.
"No, wait-wait! Can you help me?" You jogged up to him, how he fuck did he go so far away in barely 1 minute? Inhumane.
Now to hope he does help you.

Can you do obey me brothers with a mc who like qiqi from genshin impact(platonic ofc)
Tumblr media
Lucifer
He knows that you are a zombie, so he will try and adjust accordingly. He finds it adorable and efficient how you give yourself orders, but sometimes you probably shouldn’t because some tasks are too much. He likes how you keep an agenda so that your day is organized.
He will designate a spot in the HoL’s garden so you can plant herbs. You are still a practicing pharmacist, so you will do herbal remedies for the brothers. It’s not only cheaper than going to a doctor, but it’s also just easier.
You are also very polite, but lack emotion. It makes sense, since you are undead and therefore only follow orders like a mindless servant for their master, but you are your own master. Shouldn’t that allow you to show feelings? Well, besides annoyance since you pointed out that Mammon had a very punchable face.
Tumblr media
Mammon
Big brother Mammon didn’t know you were a zombie until you told him. Honestly, he is kind of offended that you didn’t tell him, but you explained that you had never put it down in your notebook on orders you needed to give yourself to do that day… or any day.
He would help you gather the herbs you needed if someone within your friend group was sick. It was a surprisingly peaceful activity for him. Also, he’s happy that it’s easier and cheaper than going to a doctor since you were a pharmacist.
He once tried to give you an order to see if it would work, but instead of laughing you got a tad annoyed. You explained that since you freed yourself from the amber, you were your own master and therefore only followed your own orders.
Tumblr media
Leviathan
You remind him of the zombie from ‘My brother/sister was taken away by a god and now I need to travel around to try and get strong enough to get them back!’ You even give yourself orders in the same way that the character from the game does!
He doesn’t really have a green thumb, so growing the herbs is all on you. He wishes that he was more interested in that type of stuff, but he will order seeds that you need online if you want. It’s the thought that counts, right?
He finds it unsettling that you show little to no emotion. Sure, you were the walking dead, but you could at least smile to make it less awkward. The one time he did see you get annoyed was when Mammon came asking him for money and you blatantly stated that the second eldest brother had a ‘punchable face’. It had Levi rolling and laughing on the floor.
Tumblr media
Satan
He also knew you were a zombie because he actually bothered to read the student profiles of the exchange students. It was fascinating how you operated by giving yourself orders based on the schedule you set up for your day.
He would also help with taking care of and harvesting the herbs that you needed to practice your pharmaceutical practices. You remind him a lot of Solomon in that aspect, and he is intrigued with the subtle differences.
He would prefer to not show emotion as well, but since he is the Avatar of Wrath it’s nearly impossible for him to do that. He lets out an audible laugh whenever you get annoyed since it’s usually Mammon who started something. You even said that he had a very punchable face, and Satan agrees.
Tumblr media
Asmodeus
He had no suspicion whatsoever since you looked alive. When you did order yourself to tell him that you were a zombie, he was so surprised. He thought you were a human, a sorcerer like Solomon was. Ain’t no freaking way. Then he realized that you had to order yourself to do things and the pieces pieced themselves together.
He would go to you for dermatological problems since you are well-versed in that field. He would help you with whatever you needed as long as it would help his beauty (also, as long as it didn’t get his hands dirty).
He’s slightly concerned when you don’t show any sort of emotion towards any of the things he’s excited about. I mean, whatever it is is a cause of joy! However, he burst out in laughter when you got annoyed at Mammon and said that he had a punchable face.
Tumblr media
Beelzebub
He also didn’t really suspect anything about you. He just thought that ordering yourself around was either determination to get tasks done or to remind you of what you were doing, which is generally understandable. When you did tell him, he was shocked.
As much as I love him, please don’t ask him to gather herbs with you. He will most definitely eat them, even if you warn him that they aren’t edible. It’s even worse if it is a rare herb since it looks very appetizing to him.
He doesn’t really mind if you don’t show emotions. He’s typically very neutral as well, so he can’t say much against it. He will say that everyone (besides Mammon) erupted into laughter when you said that the second eldest was annoying and had a face you wanted to meet with your fist.
Tumblr media
Belphegor
He was definitely suspicious of you. He hasn’t read your student file (mainly because he was locked in the attic), but he knew that you weren’t human. At least not completely human. No one went around giving them orders like a master does to a servant. When you did tell him, he mentally slapped himself for being so dumb
He wouldn’t be excited to go collect herbs unless it’s to make a potion that will allow him to sleep better. If that’s the case, then he will gladly go foraging for whatever you need. Anything for a better night’s sleep (I felt that).
He’s mostly just annoyed at all of his brothers, so he feels you when he hears you say that Mammon has a punchable face. He, too, thinks that his older brother has a face that needs a good punch, but he didn’t expect you to say it out loud.

Hey, i wanted to say two things. The first one is, I adore your analysis so much. You definitely have so much knowledge about the project sekai lore than i would ever have. And secondly, do you believe if Craft egg is going to confirm any of the ships in the game? It would be really nice if it happens, but i highly doubt it.
First off, thank you!
Secondly, I don't really like talking about shipping because, y'know, but also free pass if I'm talking about canon stuff
it's really hard to say. Like, really. I'm assuming here that you mean confirm as in the characters dating within the story, and not as in characters having mutual feelings, because for that there's a different answer. Games in the sort of idol-rhythm genre tend to never actually establish romantic relationships and just keep teasing stuff, because money and I guess if you never confirm anything then you never alienate a portion of your fanbase.
Like look at bandori, which has CHU2 and PAREO who clearly have feelings for each other (iirc it's outright stated on one side at least?) and are seemingly dating although it's just. never actually confirmed. same with a few other characters. i know this happens in enstars as well but i only ever played it for a week so i can't name anything specific but do i need to you probably get what i'm on about.
though, there are games in the genre that don't do this, namely D4DJ. But D4DJ is sort of a black sheep in this genre because like. it's really queer, like actually queer. like they've got characters who are dating and outright stated to not like men and like another girl in the cast. which isn't something that's common. at all.
and all these examples from other games are queer, and of course, prsk is mixed-gender, i'm just using them as examples (and also all the couples in prsk most likely to ever be official are queer). prsk being mixed kinda simultaneously makes getting characters together easier and harder for them. because on the one hand, do i even need to explain why straight couples are easier to slap in a story? and on the other hand, gay ships are far more popular in the fandom, and are generally the ones that get more content in the game because of that, so pulling a fast one and suddenly making a random m/f couple canon would piss off a lot of the fanbase (i'm talking about vbs and mmj here before anyone says anything).
so really it comes down to whether the writers just carry on as they are, or do something unexpected. and like, maybe they will? i mean, there's airi and shizuku who are very obviously attracted to each other, minori and haruka who i don't think i need to explain, and then an & kohane, akito & toya and arata & souma who are all implied to be soulmates. so there is definitely already stuff there if they ever decide to do something. and if not, then there's stuff there still I guess.
oh yeah also An refers to the events of BFST as a date and the way the conversation is phrased heavily implies she means it romantically but she's the only person who calls it that and no one is actually implied to be in a romantic relationship outside that event (or even in it really) but there you go. oh and shizuku and airi go on a date within the story as well.

👾 anon here
Sage kinda would have to be a house husband since he is from hyrule and not from here making him not have any documents of his birth, pretty much making it harder for him to get a job or anything that has to do with people needing to know of his birth and I doubt people would believe that he came from a video game especially knowing how his ears look more human than hylian and half of his arm is missing and people would question that and look at reader thinking their suspicious and they have done something terrible to sage like kidnapping and sage wouldn't want that. Sage would probably have an interest of true crime shows because he would be able to pick the bad and good habits that killers did to or get caught and find the things that would kill a person more efficiently. Because of him now only having one arm he is gunna need help for some tasks like the ones where you need both arms altho he wants to prove that he is perfect to be a house husband for reader which the hole needing help to open a jar might break that to him but that is a plus cause that means reader would have to be with him as it can be used to bond and to get their attention to him instead of the chain. Being at reader's world now would Legend's hair be turn more normal he would probably have only few streaks of pink hair and twilight marks look faded like their old tattoos and much for the favor of sage those two would not turn into their animal forms as much and I think hyrule would feel much weaker as he is a fairy. Hyrule would probably try to learn modern medicine from shows and twilight would probably tag along sage when he is farming or going to the farmers market. Maybe one of them becomes a influencer to help reader with the bills since now there isn't just two people living but more than twelve if you count the others and reader.
@neverchecking, @lovanmari MORE HOUSE HUSBAND SAGE!!!
AKSMSDKCVM BECAUSE WARS AS AN INFLUENCER 💀 It'd have to be him of any links, He's already got the looks. wild could be his camera man since he'd be hopeless with tech. And you're so right, reader would be DONE with how they're having to provide for everyone now. If any of the links offered to help, they'd be readers new favourite instantly - much to everyone else's jealousy.
as for some of the other points 👾, Sage very much volunteered but at the same time reader would be in so much trouble if he was found without any ID, there's a chance he'd try to forge some just to make it easier on them so they don't have to be as stressed about him going out or getting arrested themselves there isn't a single way he'd let that happen after all. But Wind would be the real issue - adults can somewhat slide, excuses for loosing things sure. but a kid? Reader is fucked if that ever got picked up on, and school is a whole different problem to deal with.
As for legend and the others, his hair would probably stay the same - sure the magic has gone, but it's not like hair dye doesn't exist here. The same could go for Twi's markings since they could be written off as a tattoo permanent without the magic so you're right about how they'd fade over time. It's less like the looks are the issue, it's just the magic isn't there anymore and anything - like their ears, Hyrule's fairy side and sage's arm have no way to fit into the real world so they get lost over time. ALSO POOR HYRULE, He's going to be bed sick for at least a week while his body adjusts. DO YOU THINK SAGE IS BAD WITH JUST AN ARM MISSING?? RULIE CAN'T MOVE AND HE'S NOT PLAYING IT UP AS MUCH AS HE COULD. While I do like the idea of Sage losing his arm within the real world as well, I feel like it wouldn't be completely lost. Reader would be constantly reassuring him that he's good enough and perfect as he is, only encouraging him to do it even more ✨✨. But if it was he would play it up for so many sympathy points, begging reader to open jars, to have them dote on him when he gets phantom pains and suspiciously only having it play up when the others want reader attention.

You're welcome to play however you like.
Yeh? You can play evil MC but the ending won't be really satisfying: "Bah, you were killed. The end! " Play good MC and maybe you will be rewarded.
A subtle manipulation authors sometimes use if they want to steer readers towards a specific route. I've seen this before in some games....
And whos the say I won't do the same for those play moral and good characters? I've said it before, I'll punish you for being too good, I'll punish you for being too bad. I'll even punish you for liking one brother over the other. People have asked what happens to MC that are too naive, merciful or trusting and I say- "well, people(your allies) will probably kill those you spared behind your back." or "They're gonna use you for their own agendas."
This is game, at the end of the day, is a story with a narrative with an ongoing theme. I've talked at length before how I will punish both good acts and bad. I've said countless of times that these characters have their own morals and agenda that go beyond their relationship with the MC.
I'm telling you right now, that if your MC is too corrupt to the point that it makes makes your rivals look like the good guy- it would be a disservice to my own character's backstory and convictions if they allow that to exist. They will not accept it. They've suffered under the status quo for too long to tolerate a leader that is significantly worse. It doesn't matter if you're their best friend, sibling or lover, they will put down the dog if it's too feral. You're one person, but the people being affected are in the thousands.
If you want to play the extreme option, I welcome it, it continues the narrative about leadership and change and sovereignty that I am trying to weave, and I enjoy seeing characters pushed beyond their limits- but you have to understand extreme choices come with extreme consequences. Its not so much about you being killed and that's the end- it's you were so fucking unreasonable and cruel, it made your lover strangle you in your sleep because they couldn't live with the guilt that you slaughtered someone they cared about unjustifiably. It's the people rising up against a tyrant to freedom. It's the ambition of power tainting your MC's body and mind and paying the price. It's more nuanced than you think.
If I didn't want to explore it, I wouldn't have made it an option. It would be easier to write a book. But I instead I do, because I still think there is narrative value in exploring a corrupted narrative in the MC and how the characters in the story will react to it.
This isn't going to be some evil wank fest- nobody is going to glaze you off for being so evil. I'm not interested in entertaining that narrative in my story. It has no place for it. The world as I have crafted it, will not tolerate it.
All interactive fiction is a lie by your standards then. As all choices only exist within the breadth of choice that the Author allows. And we authors are all manipulative as fuck. If we want you to engage in the narrative a certain way, we'll make sure it happens the way we want it to. That's the difference between a shitty sandbox an a story of choice that explores a evolving narrative theme.
As authors, we write stories to make you feel exactly how we want you to feel- unreliable narrators exists for the sole reason to lie to readers and gaslight them into believing that some false is true. Hell, I have character lie to your face because I want you to believe in something that might not actually be true, cause the real truth will hurt much more later in the story. I have a fucking fake love interest hiding in the crowd right now as we speak.
If you want to play the villain, you get the villain ending. Sorry anon.

Tennis Match - Kira!Adrien AU pt.1 (sorry)
----
...It seemed that, while being the world's alleged "greatest detective", L (or, as she currently pretended to call herself, "Cori Beaufort") was not above the idea of wearing a skirt. Of course, there was a clear occasion for it: She'd invited Adrien to play a game of tennis with her, mentioning that she'd once won the England Women's Junior Cup, so she was specifically wearing a white tennis skirt, of all things. Adrien had a feeling it was, like every choice she made, intentional. Her fashion was garish, sure, with her large flannel, beat-up baseball cap, and large tennis shoes, but that wasn't really the focus. It was her legs, bare and supple-looking, that were clearly her method of distracting him this time. It was simply a nice coincidence that it was a particularly warm day, and that many other people, men and women alike, were wearing shorts or skirts. No: The only way he could rationalize it feeling so different on her was that she was trying to bait him again. Clearly.
"Hey!" she finally greeted him once the two were within earshot. Adrien glanced away, hoping it was enough to gain his composure; One of the things he despised most about L's approach was that she acted so overly friendly with him. They were quite clearly enemies at this point, perhaps even intellectual rivals—And yet she just had to taunt him with a smile. With any other idiotic target, maybe that was enough. Yeah, she probably acted this way around every man she was hoping to arrest.
"Good morning," Adrien responded cordially. He suddenly felt quite awkward standing there, tennis racket idly in hand. L's state of dress aside, it was obvious this match was meant to test him and confirm her suspicion that he was truly 'Kira Le Chat Noir'. 'Confirm' specifically because could see either outcome being used as justification regardless, a true heads-I-win-tails-you-lose situation. Although they had only been briefly acquainted, Adrien had a feeling this was the case. ...Though, it wasn't as if he would've shied away from getting an assured victory of his own should the opportunity present itself. She just happened to have the upper hand.
While Adrien was busy retreating into his own mind, L had begun to stretch, not seeming to care in the slightest that a few people had stopped to stare at the two of them in the middle of the university's tennis court. Feeling obligated to look just as eager to play as she did, Adrien began to stretch his wrists, maybe his hamstrings if he felt like it. Nothing to the extent L was doing, much less anything that would illicit that same... hideous grunting. That was all he would allow himself to categorize it as for now. Especially not with the final image of her stretching by arching her back—Dear God.
"You know, it's nice to have found another tennis champ," she smiled, her tone bright as if she was talking to a very close friend. "Gimme your best, alright?"
That was definitely her goading him, he was sure of it.
----
The match began perfectly. The two were neck and neck for the first few games, with all the stakes resting on the final foray. Adrien still hadn't decided whether exactly he was to win or to throw the match; Every smug grin L gave him as he happened to best her seemed to imply she was tricking him into beating her, but maybe that was exactly what she wanted him to think. It was much easier to focus on the ball, perhaps, and occasionally glance at the rest of her body as she moved across the court, the flannel tied around her waist flapping about as she ran. Adrien could swear he'd even noticed a bead of sweat running down her leg, his eyes thoroughly enthralled by the spectacle as it ran from her thigh all the way down to her ankle. Of course, that particular sight was distracting enough that he very nearly missed a throw that any amateur could've gotten, so hopefully his eyes wouldn't wander like that again.
...
(a/n: trading inner monologues. L is first, Adrien second, vice versa)
I can see the wheels turning in your head, Adrien. Guess I'm already in there, huh? Tch. There's no way a simple tennis match is meant to deepen this 'friendship' of ours, L, and I'm well aware of that. I know this was all just a token gesture, and we are but two actors in an elaborate performance. One meant to simply make us look closer to the outside observer.
Well then.. Since I went through the effort to play tennis with you, Adrien, you're probably assuming I want to get closer to you in some way. Maybe even that I want to know you better?
Hah. Just so you can try and trap me into saying something only Kira Le Chat Noir would know, no doubt!
But you're not that stupid, are you? You're going to tell me you need to know if you can trust me first, and the only way you'll be sure of that is if I tell you everything I know.
And yet it'd only make sense that I'd discuss Kira with you once I get proof you're in charge of the investigation... And, more importantly, that you're really L as you like to say you are!
Clearly, the first thing you're going to want from me is some kind of confirmation. Something more than just my word.
Which means we'll have to visit Task Force Headquarters.
...
No, actually, maybe it would make perfect sense for him to be distracted like this. This had been the first time Adrien had played since his youth, and surely the first time in years against a woman. Kira might be focused on winning above all, but perhaps the impression he wanted to give was that he was a little more hormonally driven, much like the common man. Not that Kira couldn't get it on if he wanted to—Adrien liked to think of him as maybe even a casanova of sorts—just that it was less important to Kira than justice. ...Maybe the everyday Adrien would be of a different mind?
...Damnit! He'd still be playing into her hands. What else was she wearing that stupidly short skirt for if not to entice him? Not only was there likely a secret motive to it, as he'd concluded before, but to let her distract him was to essentially hand her the reins to his own downfall. Man or woman, he couldn't allow that. Especially with something so simplistic and carnal as this. He'd have to ignore every time he could hear her short breaths from across the court, every time she'd lunge with her legs apart, every time she'd smile at him as if she didn't know exactly what it made him feel.
In his fervent rage, Adrien had let himself continue to lob the ball higher and higher, now finally to the point that his opponent had to jump. Whether it was the direction of the wind or the specific shadow cast by her clothing, what Adrien very nearly convinced himself he saw was a view up her skirt.
The ball hit Adrien's side of the court without resistance.
"Game and set! Won by Cori Beaufort, 6 to 4!"
L skipped over to Adrien almost immediately, as if the past hour and a half had barely taken anything out of her. Adrien was horrified by the prospect of her drawing him into a falsely sentimental hug, but she merely shook his hand.
"That was a wonderful match, Adrien," she smiled, holding her racquet behind her back. "Perhaps we could even get some coffee later?"
"You're, uh—"
Adrien couldn't keep himself from glancing down at L's hips. She quirked an eyebrow at him, before the realization hit her immediately.
"Pfft! You really think I wouldn't be wearing anything under this?" L teased. "Here, look!"
Before he could even give himself the decency of averting his eyes, L took the hem of her skirt between her thumb and forefinger and lifted it up just barely. Just enough to reveal she was wearing a very short pair of skin-tight white shorts.
It was a blessing Adrien no longer had his racquet in his hands, because if it was he would have snapped it in half. Instead, he simply cleared his throat harder than he ever had in his entire life.
"Good to know, I suppose," he muttered back to her. "But yes. Coffee sounds nice."

You mentioned making proper genned event pokemon, but what does that entail?
depends on the event in question!
back in the day during gens 3 and 4, IRL event distributions were often handled by running a custom GBA cart with the event distribution software and hooking up to other GBAs via link cable or with the wireless adapter, or a custom DS cart that took advantage of the DS' innate wireless compatibilities. obviously all of these carts were meant to be sent back to nintendo or get destroyed, but that... just did not happen to all of them lol. (there are also a few local distribution softwares for 3DS and stuff but wayyy less common)
you can actually buy gen 4 distribution carts for an excessive amount of money, though i can't in good conscience recommend looking for gen 3 distribution carts, they're INCREDIBLY rare and most of the listings you'll find for them on ebay are 100% fake and are scamming you out of hundreds of dollars, and most people don't know how to tell the difference unfortunately.
that being said, i'm not recommending you buy these at all actually, because most of the ones in physical circulation have been dumped online and can be downloaded. the digiex forums contains them, and you can download these and run them on actual hardware and roleplay being the toys r us/gamestop/etc employee and distribute to themself just like how it would have happened back at the time of the event lmao. for the DS ones it's easy with a hacked 3DS and twilight menu, but for GBA you'd need a GBA flashcart and the associated link cable/wireless adapters + two GBAs. this can also be done on emulators with support for local connection between two windows and has the same exact effect as doing it with real hardware, it just feels cool to do it with real hardware (pictured below is an ancient video i took of me distributing 2005 Aura Mew to myself with the actual software made by nintendo, running off a flashcart. i took this years ago and the quality is ass and my positioning is awkward sorry lol. my room doesn't even look the same...)
Tumblr media
as for events without distribution software, old gen ones have the DNS exploit, which you can find simple instructions for here. this is much easier with gen 5 than gen 4 - you can find gen 4 help i wrote here. these restore all online functionality in the old games, including mystery gift - trying to grab a mystery gift from the internet will allow you to download pretty much any event in the game (though the one it gives you is random and you'd have to try over and over to get the ones you want). the data of these events is 100% identical to how the events actually were at the time of distribution, like completely indistinguishable, so it's a safe way to get those mons to bank and home, though you may want to change your DS date to the same date as the event in question so it doesn't look weird.
as for 3DS there is no fancy stuff like the above, you'll just want to go to project pokemon's public event gallery and browse for what you're looking for, which also provides a link to instructions for injecting these in your games. it's worth noting you can also inject all the gen 3-5 events that have been documented/archived this way, it's just less interesting than the above methods imo. this is probably the least legitimate feeling option but the data is still identical and well. other than elaborate glitches or something that's the best its gonna get. it's likely once 3DS servers shut down next year that eventually a DNS exploit-adjacent service will pop up for gen 6 and 7...
btw worth noting that gen 4 is the only gen where the name rater literally only checks for TID and doesn't even consider the "fateful encounter" flag that event pokemon are usually given, so you can RNG manip a matching trainer ID and then nickname event mons you aren't supposed to be able to nickname fully within the limits of the original game and hardware LOL. that isn't related to your question i just think it's funny that you can do that and it's technically completely legit
anyway sorry for the long ass answer i just find mystery gifts fascinating and it deserved me being a little more comprehensive
edit: oh yes and there's certain event mons that are still able to be obtained without all this wacky stuff, ie the pokemon colosseum bonus disc gives out infinite jirachis and they just released that as a preorder bonus back then. so worth looking at options for distributions like that too if you need a species of mythical or whatever!

Can you do something with Ben White, he is in Doha for the word Cup but the two of you have argued and you love him a lot. Y/n and Ben have a newborn son and he has a cold and you are worried.. thank you in advance 🤍 (sorry for my English)
Wrote this before he withdrew from the squad
-
Having a baby change everything from the way you think to your priorities; everything begins to be planned with them in mind in order to make them feel good. Or so you thought...
You were happy about Ben's call-up to the world cup, you still are. Yet there were days when bickering was not missing in your house, leading you to be nervous and consequently causing your barely one-month-old baby to be more nervous than usual. Exhausted didn't fully express how you felt.
"I don't understand" and yet Ben misses no opportunity to resume the same conversation that has been going on within those walls for days now.
"Again?" you sigh dejectedly, the only thing you want is to take advantage of the fact that the baby is finally resting so that you can do the same if only for a little while. But he doesn't understand that.
"Yes, again. And do you know why? Because it's not fucking fair"
"Ben I warn you, change that attitude or don't start at all"
"Everyone will be there, everyone. What am I supposed to say when they notice I'll be the only one alone?"
"The truth. That the baby is still too young to travel"
"Because you don't want to"
"You really think you have it all figured out? - your voice drops a tone, defeated and bitter at yet another failed communication between the two of you since the baby's birth - have you ever stopped to think about what it might mean for me, for us, to move with a newborn? I feel like I've just found some stability since he was born and just the thought of having to do it all over again alone in a place I don't know surrounded by strangers scares me... but you don't care anyway. You only think about yourself, about showing your family around five minutes after the game while I'm the one who has to take care of everything else!"
The baby's crying is the only thing in the background after your outburst while he looks at you without saying anything. So you take the opportunity to walk away, to put some space between the two of you as you go to quiet the baby.
-
The days before departure are the strangest. Some go by as if you were a normal family that has just had a baby, enjoying every moment ahead of his departure; others as if you were strangers under the same roof, shifty glances and unspoken thoughts.
And that is how he leaves, after a small party with friends and family to wish him luck, to join his teammates almost a week before the start of the world cup. Every evening or whenever he has free time he calls you to see you both; there is always a smile on his face, the focus on the boy, but still on facetime is always easier to hide things.
When he calls you on the third day he can sense that something is wrong just by seeing you. He had just finished dinner with some of the boys but had wandered off looking for a quiet place so you could talk freely.
"He didn't sleep at all last night. He's so fussy. And I think he has some sort of flu"
"Did you call my mum or yours?"
"Yeah, I spoke to them just now. I also called the paediatrician but he wasn't available" the desperation is clear in your voice as you huff trying to push back the tears that are trying to come out.
"Babe - Ben sighs, looking for the best way to infuse you with his closeness - breathe, you've got this under control..."
"He's so little, I don't know what to do"
"Okay now listen to me, ask your mother or sister to stay with you tonight. Just so you're calmer and you can try to get some rest too"
"Ugh I should have listened to you and taken him somewhere warmer" you sigh and really the distance right now doesn't help.
"That could have happened here too. And you're right, probably in a foreign place you would have gone even crazier"
"I'm not going crazy - you reply promptly snatching a laugh from him - I'm just worried about my baby"
"I know" a hysterical cry breaks free in the air just then and you step away for a moment only to go and retrieve the baby leaving Ben waiting. When you return he can actually notice the slightly flushed cheeks typical of a few lines of fever.
"How is he?"
"He doesn't seem any warmer than before" you murmur, resting your lips on his forehead for a moment. "Oh the paediatrician is calling me back. Talk later?"
"Yeah, let me know as soon as you're done" the call disconnects soon after leaving him bitter at what he meant to say, staring at your profile picture picturing you and the baby in one of the many photos he took of you during that period.

Warning, you reblogged an ask game, and I’m about to go ham.
1, 4, 8, 13, 21, 22, 24, 26, 31, 32, 35, 48, 50, and 71
Do you prefer writing one-shots or multichapter fics?
That's a hard one, because I've written quite a lot of both. One-shots do make up the majority of my fic library though, so I'll go with one-shots.
4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?
Anywhere and everywhere. @ashleybenlove is also super great for inspiration! Prompts are good, rewatching episodes, listening to music, pulling from a personal experience... It's like I never run out!
8. Do you prefer the beginning, middle, or end of a story?
Hm, usually I want to say the beginning. I'm very good at beginnings and first lines. Middles are fun, but can drag sometimes in the process, and endings are difficult to get just right.
13. What's a common writing tip that you almost always follow?
Change your font when editing. It makes your brain look at the story differently and pick up on mistakes you probably wouldn't have seen with the original font you wrote in.
21. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?
I think so. I've done sort-of-collabs with @mdoodlerfandomart and those were always incredibly fun! But those were the kind where one person writes one half of the story and the other writes the second half. I wonder if I'd be able to collaborate with another writer where we could write on the same document at the same time. Maybe I can do one with you, @lifblogs? Like on a Good Omens one?
22. Are there certain types of writing you won't do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc.)
Mm, there is a lot I will write. It's probably longer than the list of things I won't write. I'll write from virtually anyone's perspective. I don't really write poetry, though I could see how it could be fun in fanfic form! I explore all sorts of genres in fanfic and write things I probably wouldn't write in original fic. Like, when it comes to realistic fiction in original work? Ew, no! Realistic fiction like modern AUs and such in fanfic? That works just fine for me.
24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?
"Cut out sex scenes and filler. They're not necessary to the story or character development."
Okay, sure. Fuck off.
26. Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?
Infernal Fascination for sure. 3 years, lots of harassment, but also lots of praise and fun. Yeah, that was wild for sure.
31. Do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?
Hm, I think plot maybe? I develop a plot based around the characters though, so maybe both.
32. Name three of your favorite fanfic writers.
@howtowhumpyourhiccup @fictionalnormalcy @lilliths-httyd-blog @ashleybenlove @thedragon-and-hisboy (No, I could not keep it to just 3).
35. What is one essential thing to remember when writing a villain?
That villains are human too. You can portray them as a monster, but the monstrous is human. Villains will be much easier to write and more fun and fleshed out when you treat them like human beings. (Unless of course, your villain is an eldritch horror of some kind.)
48. What do you look for in a beta?
I don't use a beta, but I think I would look for someone who is understanding of my writing style and sensitive about my RSD.
50. How long is your longest fic?
Infernal Fascination: 470k words.
71. When it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, etc.?
I make an outline with notes at the top of the page about times, dates, characters, etc. My outlines are usually just bulleted list of the events that will happen within the story. I try to keep my outlines and notes in one document so that I don't have too many documents and confuse myself.

Moving right along with a long-time fandom of mine, K! It's still the same Monopoly prompt, so I kept it limited to a specific clan and I have to say, it was a blast thinking about HOMRA playing Monopoly!
Send me a fandom and a number and I’ll tell you who in Monopoly:
Is the banker: It’s usually Izumo. Does he want to be the banker? No. Does he even want to be playing the game? No. So why is he doing it? Because the others convinced him to play and nominated him as banker.
Is overly protective of a certain game token and refuses to play until they get that token: Shouhei really wants to be the doggy. Like, he really, really wants to that token. Please let him have that token or you will hear about it the rest of the game.
Who is the person who everybody always suspects of cheating even though “OH MY GOD IT WAS ONE TIME”: It was multiple times. Every time, almost, if we’re to be exact. But Eric is a lousy cheater, always gets caught, and it’s become almost a tradition of playing Monopoly!
Is the person who cheats and gets away with it because no one suspects them: Totsuka. He just is so sweet natured and his smile is deceivingly innocent but make no mistake, he’s more than willing to play dirty if he has to.
Buys everything they land on with a YOLO approach and no strategy: Chitose. It’s Chitose every time and it never works for him. Yata will try to strategize most of the time and loses every time he does. Oddly enough, a YOLO approach and no strategy is the one way Yata has ever won.
Suggests that they liven it up with alcohol: Izumo, of course. Alcohol is one of his ‘things’, one of the subjects he knows a lot about and is somewhat passionate about.
Has a very stringent strategy and is willing to do strange requests and weird dares in exchange for the properties they want: Rikio actually usually has a strategy in place within the first fifteen minutes. He really doesn’t care too much if he has to do something silly or look a little foolish. He’s kind of used to not getting a lot of respect and hey, he does enjoy making others laugh and if doing so helps him win in the end, why not?
INSISTS that they play by the rulebook TO THE LETTER: Dewa really prefers to play by the rules. They’re written for a reason, they make the game easy to play and understand for everyone, and they usually keep the game from falling into the hours long mess that it normally does whenever HOMRA plays Monopoly.
Throws the rulebook in the other person’s face and makes up new rules to make it better: Yata is bad for this. Him and Bando and Akagi kind of all team up in making up new rules and they increasingly try to one-up each other in just how ridiculous the new rules get to the point where eventually, if the game hasn’t been won, it just becomes unplayable and unwinnable.
Has ridiculously good luck with the chance cards to the point of suspicion: Anna has so much luck with those chance cards. A lot of the boys think she might be cheating. They strongly suspect it. But they’d never come right out and accuse her of it, of course, because it’s Anna.
Lands on all the taxes and as a result vows to vote for a different candidate in the next election: I feel like Rikio has really bad luck when it comes to both chance cards and landing on taxes and he’d probably make this joke to make light of the situation and then the joke would spin off and become a complaint about politics and everyone would get all fired up about the subject and it might just lead to a fight even though he hadn’t meant it to because they’re all a bunch of idiots.
Goes bankrupt first: Poor Chitose. He doesn’t even really try to strategize and just sucks ass at the game, to be blunt about it. Monopoly is not his game…poker’s more his strong suit.
Which two people get into a screaming match: Honestly, it’s easier to list off who wouldn’t get into a screaming match, which was Totsuka, Izumo, and Fujishima. They rest of them either definitely would or could be goaded into doing so eventually.
Which two people are secretly collaborating for a joint victory: I feel like this would be Fujishima and Eric. The two are quite close and would be able to kind of figure out something without much talking between them and I feel like this would be Fujishima and Eric. The two are quite close and would either have a standing alliance for any games or would be able to communicate well non-verbally to agree to team up, and since they’re both fairly quiet people, nobody really notices them too much or gives a lot of thought to how they’ve managed to get so lucky.
Which two people are openly collaborating for a joint victory: Okay, but is there any question that Bando and Shohei are working together? Seriously, it’s so obvious that nobody could doubt it and, just in case anyone did, Bando’s an idiot who pretty much blurts it out at some point.
Who flips the table: I feel like a lot of these boys would table flip when the game got too hot and heated or things kept going sucky for them but I think, because he is so hot tempered, it’s probably Yata who does it the most.
Who is the sore winner who in any other circumstance would be the one flipping the table: Bando wouldn’t be above flipping a table, but probably wouldn’t do it often. Anytime he wins, which is rare but does happen, he is a horrible, horrible winner though who gets very cocky.
Who anonymously calls in a bomb threat to end the game early: I feel like this would be either Dewa or Izumo. They just really, really want the game to be over. They’ve wanted it to be over from the start but ended up roped into it by more enthusiastic friends.
Who is the smart person who refuses to play in the first place: Mikoto might watch. He might even find it amusing at points. But you’re out of your fucking mind if you think anyone would be getting him to play Monopoly with them.

A/N: This chapter introduces the use of a meta-narrative of events that happen outside of reader's perspective, it's different to what I usually do for reader inserts but I actually had a lot of fun fleshing out other characters in the story! I hope y'all like it, too!
As the days go by, you develop quite a presence within your team. Your colleagues all seem especially abuzz when they get to work with you, and they certainly seem interested in getting to know you - but there’s an ulterior motive within all of them.
Every time Steve visits - which seems to be most days - they’re all on high alert, especially Tiffany. She even keeps lookout around noon to watch him leave Family Video on his lunch break, and rushes to make sure you’re out on the shop floor every time. She’s not the only one, though. Most of your colleagues will come and find you if Steve comes in, though not as eagerly as Tiff might. You have noticed on occasion when you’ve been working in the back, if the doorbell dings around noon, you can poke your head out and almost guarantee that Steve will act as though he’s looking through the comics, but will crane his neck around as though he’s looking for something - or someone - else in particular. You think it’s quite sweet that he’s that interested in being your friend, though you wonder why he hasn’t simply asked you to hang out outside of work.
This isn’t the only person you’re having this problem with. Eddie also loves to visit, though his are later in the afternoon. You know from Tiffany that he’s still at the school, having been held back until he can graduate this year, so he obviously visits once he’s done there. Usually either Ralph’s around, or he’s been told about it by the time you next work with him. But where Steve will act more nonchalant - probably because his “reputation” likely doesn’t fit here - and tell everyone who asks that he’s simply been sent to pick up a comic or two, Eddie has been nesting himself quite happily in the D&D corner, flicking through campaign books for ideas, helping others who come through with questions about the game, making it clear that he’s here as more than just an ordinary customer.
Eddie certainly does love to play along to other people’s dramatics. On the one hand, it’s fun to watch him leap across the store, helping people come up with ideas for campaigns, sessions, backstories. You just wish he wouldn’t entertain the very silly notion that he’s here to partake in some kind of sordid affair with you. You’re sure it’s very clear that he is exaggerating as a way to show everyone he doesn’t really feel that way, but you do admit it takes you a good week or so to get used to not swooning whenever he drapes himself over the counter just to look up at you with fake adoration as he talks to you. And the time you overheard him ask Ralph to, “Bring me my girl.” still gives you goosebumps if you think about it for even a second.
You wonder how to invite either of them to do something outside of work, without any of your colleagues catching on and making it a big thing. Ideally, you’d like to invite them both to hang out at the same time, since you’re sure they must be fairly good friends due to them constantly referencing each other, though they’ve never visited the store at the same time.
One Saturday, Steve comes in at his usual time, still in his uniform so you’re sure he’s been working, but he’s tailed by that Dustin kid. You guess he’s been hanging around the Family Video all morning. You nod in greeting to him, "Henderson, right? You good?"
He grins, "Oh yeah, I'm real good right now. Hey, thanks for having my back the other day. Getting me issue 200 early was cool enough of you, but helping me shove it into my friends' faces? Priceless."
"Well, if I've learned anything while working here so far, it's how nerds like to one-up each other all the time,” you nod with a chuckle.
Steve raises his eyebrows, tilting his head slightly towards you and scoffing. “‘Nerds’? Like, in the third person?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you ask, folding your arms. There are two speeds to Steve - his awkward bumbling, which seems to come along whenever you’re not automatically there for him to find and/or others are hanging around; and straight-talking, sassy Steve. While the former may be… Sweet, in its own way, you certainly prefer the latter.
“Well, I just think that’s a bit rich coming from the person selling nerd rags and nerd rocks,” Steve points to a rack of comics and then a jar of dice. “At least embrace who you are, too.”
“Is there a reason you came all this way, other than just to heckle me?” you ask before pointing at Dustin. “Since you’re usually his delivery pigeon and, well, he’s here too, so…”
Steve glances over at Dustin, who looks up at him expectantly, and then looks back over to you. “Uh, well, see, this weekend my friend Nance - Nancy, her parents are out of town. A-and so, usually we all hang out - well, I say we all, us older kids tend to group together, and then the younger ones do, but they’re super chill, you’ll barely notice ’em, it’s just we all stay under the same roof so the Wheelers don’t freak out. Uh, anyway, if you wanted to come hang out with us, too, that’d be cool. Totally up to you, though.”
You suddenly grow very shy. A party sounds like a whole lot of people you don’t even know… You rub your arm anxiously. “Uh, that’s a great offer and all, but I wouldn’t know anyone else, and I wouldn’t expect you to have me joined at your hip all night…”
Steve’s expression freezes as he racks his brain, until Dustin is the one to swing the back of his hand into Steve’s torso and suggest, “Eddie! He’s in here all the time, you gotta know him, right?” You nod. “Yeah, we can just -”
Steve sucks the air in through his teeth. “Yeeeah, no dice, buddy.” You and Dustin both cackle quietly at each other as you make the same joke of pointing at the jar full of them right next to you. Steve ignores you both, “No, I’ve been trying to talk him into coming, Nancy did invite him, but he’s… I dunno,” he shrugs.
“But maybe knowing he has another friend there too might help persuade him to come,” Dustin explains slowly to Steve, moving his hands around in circles.
Steve nods just as slowly. “Got it, got it. I’ll get him there.”
You scrunch your face up in thought. “I dunno, you guys, it’s very sweet of you, but I don’t know if Eddie would want to go somewhere he’s already turned down just for me to be basically attached to him all night, eith-”
“You wouldn’t be just attached to him, either,” Steve’s answer is quick and sharp, and his expression is the most stern you’ve seen. If your colleagues were watching, they might mistake it for jealousy. Actually, you wonder why you don’t feel multiple pairs of eyes prying on you from “secret” locations. Steve then softens up, “We’ll both help you get used to the group. Trust me, you’re gonna love ’em.”
Well, you had been wanting to see more of your two new friends outside of work. And perhaps you’ll make some more friends, too. “Alright, what do I have to wear?”
A grin breaks out across Steve’s face. “Uh, just whatever you’re comfortable with. It’s just a bunch of us hanging out at the Wheelers’ house. Um, if you wanted, I could come pick you up?”
“That would be nice! Uh… Hang on,” you scramble around for a scrap of paper and scrawl your address onto it. “What time?”
“I mean, I was hoping to get there for 8, so I’ll come for you around 7:30?” Steve asks, and you nod, handing him the paper.
Dustin is bouncing on the balls of his feet. “Yes! Awesome! See you soon!”
As both of them turn to leave, Steve frowns. “Huh. Weird. Can’t see Robin in the window.”
—[ meta ]—
Robin and Steve hear the door open to see - of course. Like every Saturday. The Henderson Roundup. If you’d have told Robin just two years ago, that she’d be spending her weekends mostly hanging out with a teenager, she’d have never believed you. But, it’s kinda sweet, watching her best friend Steve get to play big brother. And she gets a kick out of getting to team up with Dustin to make Steve’s life hell.
The second the clock strikes noon, Dustin cheers, “Yesss! Now you can take your lunch and come to the comic book store with me!”
“You know you can go there… yourself, right?” Steve asks, furrowing his brow. “You’re a big boy now, Mister Freshman.”
Dustin puts on a mimicking voice, “‘Ooh, you’re a big boy now, miste-’ Shut up,” his tone returns to normal, and Robin snorts with laughter. “C’mon, there’s a new issue of this one comic I’ve been getting into that I really wanna get.”
Opening a packet of chips that she clearly took in front of her manager with absolutely zero consequence, Robin puts one in her mouth slowly. “Huh. So, you couldn’t have asked Steve to pick it up on the multiple trips he’s made over there for you this week?”
Dustin looks at Steve, confused. “When have I asked you to -” Dustin’s whole face widens with glee. Steve’s does with horror.
Hurriedly, Steve hops over the counter to stand behind Dustin. “Hey, guess what, Henderson, it’s your lucky day, I will be wasting my precious lunch break with you after all.” Holding Dustin’s head, he swivels the boy around entirely and quickly herds him out of the store.
When they’re in the parking lot, they huddle close as they walk away from the store, then start shoving each other until they’re basically play-fighting. They do that until they get to Steve’s car, where he makes a detour to lean against it to talk to Dustin. Robin’s known Steve long enough to know that he’s standing in his ‘game plan’ stance. That, plus him not wanting Robin to know why they’re out there, spells it out in plain English for her: he’s got a crush on someone over there. A real one, the kind he always teases Robin for.
She’s not mad, not by any means. He’s totally right, her first reaction is to seek revenge for how he treats her every time she crushes on someone. But, she contemplates as she continues to eat her chips, she wouldn’t be a good friend to do that behind his back. At least every time he gave her grief, it was because she felt safe enough around Steve to not be subtle about it.
Perhaps she could help, instead. Looking over at the comic book store, she notices that a group has congregated near the dumpster. Making no attempt to sneak past their manager, but every one at making sure Steve and Dustin don’t see her, she manages to evade detection all the way up until crashing into the dumpster, causing the group to jump.
“Oh my god, I’m so… Sorry, I’m so clumsy! I was just…. Um…” She flounders, realising she never came up with an alibi for coming over.
Thankfully, a girl who Robin vaguely recognises as someone she can place seeing in the school hallways, pipes up, “Wait! You work at Family Video, right?”
“Yeah! Just learned that my colleague is quite an esteemed customer,” Robin smirks, leaning casually against the wall of the store.
“Do… You know the full story?” the girl asks, and Robin shakes her head. “Okay, so, I’m so sure that Steve and Y/N - have you met her?”
“Name doesn’t ring a bell,” Robin shakes her head.
“Well, anyway, they’re so in love, but they just don’t know it yet,” the girl continues wistfully.
Her male colleague snorts behind her, “You’re such a kid. You can’t just dictate how two people feel about each other without discussing it with both of them at length.”
“Oh, so you’ve talked to both Y/N and that Munson guy about their feelings, then? That’s how you’re so sure?” The young girl retaliates.
Robin holds her head. “Hold on, hold on, rewind. You’re saying Eddie’s part of this, too?”
The girl squeals with excitement, “You know him, too?! This changes everything! We’ve got someone on the inside!” She finally introduces herself as Tiffany, the other speaker as Ralph, and a third party, silent so far, known as Cameron. Robin introduces herself, too.
“Alright, yes, this is good, we can use this,” Ralph leans in. “So, how can we try and get Robin in good enough to assess the situation?”
They all think for a second before Robin snaps her fingers. “Oh my god, tonight. There’s - one of our friends, she’s having a party. And she knows Eddie, too, if he isn’t already invited I can totally talk them into it.”
“If we can somehow get Y/N invited…” Ralph conspires, tapping his chin.
Robin laughs, “Well, if I know Steve and his little… Sidekick as well as I think I do, they might be on that, already.” Her face falls. “I should get back before they realise I’m gone. Uhh, when are you guys next working?”
After some deliberation, the gang decides to regroup on Wednesday before closing time, to debrief about whatever happens tonight. Robin manages to rush back in enough time for her to recompose herself enough to look bored, picking up the rest of her bag of chips.
When Steve and Dustin return, they both look excited. They stop in their tracks when they see Robin, though. “Oh! Hey.”
“Uh, hi?” Robin ironically puts all her energy into looking nonchalant.
Steve frowns, “Could’a sworn you were… Doesn’t matter, I’m gonna need the phone.”
Robin steps aside, and Steve looks through the customer database before punching in a phone number. After a couple of beats, Steve grins, “Munson! My main man! How’s it going, buddy, I’ve missed you! How come I don’t see you anymore?”
Robin has to duck away to avoid him seeing her laughter. Looks like everything might just fall into place without any effort from her at all.
“Well, you know, I’m working full-time now, you’re almost out of school … Come on, I know you’re happy coasting at the bare minimum, you don’t need to spend your weekends studying … Oh, you’re helping Will write his campaign? Not sure what he’s running for, but boy, do I have a deal for you! … I know you know that, but I have another proposition as to why you should come … Well, we have a mutual friend at the comic book store, right? … Yeah, that’s her! Yeah, I thought it can’t hurt her to have more friends in the area, but she seemed a little nervous when I brought it up to her … Well, I - I may have told her that you’ll be there to help me help her mingle … Come on, you know you can’t stay mad at me … Yes, I’ll supply enough beer for the both of us … You are the best! I’ll see you later, man!”
As he flicks through to find another phone number, a girl around Steve’s age walks in. Usually no matter what, even if he’s actually busy with work-related stuff, he would drop anything to test out his latest pick-up lines. And yet, Robin isn’t at all surprised when Steve looks up at her, phone handset wedged between his ear and shoulder, hand covering the mouthpiece, and asks in a hushed tone, “Hey, would you mind helping her - Heeeey Nance, so I have some updates for you about the party you’re planning…”

Inform Basics (#16: Introduction to Extensions)
Extensions are just that: bits of code that extend the capabilities of Inform. Their effects can be tiny or massive. The largest and most impactful extension to Inform 7 is Graham Nelson's Standard Rules, defines an Inform 7 games default behaviors and responses. We recently searched this extension to determine where a message about eating a sandwich was coming from.
You might wonder: why bother putting all of that in an extension? Why not bake it into the compiler? Let's set aside the fact that keeping it separate makes it easier to alter, fix, upgrade, etc. That's all true and very useful. The beautiful thing for us, though, who are learning natural language programming in Inform 7, is that the Standard Rules are written in Inform 7, too.
It can serve as a model for our own code. As we learn to write better code, we will learn to better understand what is going on in the Standard Rules. The syntax we are learning is also the syntax that governs most default actions in Inform 7. This is tremendously useful to us, as we don't have to memorize the functions of a black box that we cannot see into.
Thanks to this architecture, the behaviors of Inform 7 that we wish to emulate or improve upon are exposed to us from the beginning.
The extensible architecture of Inform 7 also allows us to incorporate well-designed code by other authors into our own games. Several extensions are installed with Inform 7 by default, though they are not immediately active in a new Inform 7 project. Within the IDE, you can check to see which extensions are installed, and which of those installed extensions are active.
For now, let's just think about extensions installed by default. I believe the extension that is most commonly included in Inform 7 projects is probably Emily Short's "Basic Screen Effects."
Tumblr media
Let's take a look at it.
In the same way that we opened the Standard Rules, we can open the "Basic Screen Effects" extension: file->open installed extension->Emily Short->Basic Screen Effects.
Tumblr media
There's a lot here we can't understand! Under the hood, Inform performs what I'll call low-level functions via Inform 6, a VERY different language. Sometimes extensions can teach us new tricks. On the other hand, some call upon powerful techniques that our own Inform 7 code cannot perform.
If you keep scrolling through the extension, you'll reach the "documentation" section. A well-documented extension will provide substantial instructions as well as sample code. Since, as the documentation says, the custom colors do not work with Gluxe compiled stories (this series uses the Glulxe format exclusively), what do people use "Basic Screen Effects" for? In my experience, Glulxe games use the following features somewhat regularly:
Clearing the screen.
Waiting for keypresses.
Waiting for a keypress is fairly common (in Repeat the Ending, it is used 38 times):
When play begins: say "Press any key to begin"; wait for any key;
Sometimes, it is beneficial to clear the screen. Note that this can sometimes annoy players, because they cannot scroll back to see text pre-clearing. I think the Windows exception is the WinGlulxe interpreter, which keeps scrollback in a separate window. Use with caution.
When play begins: say "You have reached the point of no return. Press any key to continue"; wait for any key; clear the screen.
However: as previously mentioned, it is not enough to install most extensions; you must include them in your project, like so:
include basic screen effects by emily short.
The format is quite important. The name of the extension should match the name, which can always be found at the beginning of the extension's code. the author's name is required as well. If you'd like to avoid typos, you can simply copy the title and author directly from the extension. In this case, that first line is
Version 8 of Basic Screen Effects by Emily Short begins here.
It doesn't hurt if we copy the version number. In some cases, it might be helpful--perhaps we are juggling multiple versions.
Include Version 8 of Basic Screen Effects by Emily Short
It is wise to INCLUDE your extensions at or near the very beginning of your project. This will help you keep track of them and prevent confusions over precedence. You can use Inform's built-in taxonomy (more on this next time) to clearly categorize your included extensions for easy reference.
At present, the standard repository of non-preinstalled extensions for Inform version 10-compatible projects (this series deals only with Inform 7, version 10) is Friends of Inform. It is large and potentially overwhelming for new authors. By all means, poke around, but don't be shy about asking for help. I won't be exploring this facet of I7 development for some time, so don't feel like you need to understand everything yet.
As a final trick: remember how, way back when, we devised a method for telling the compiler to either include or exclude commands based on whether we had a test or production build?
PROD is a truth state that varies. PROD is usually true. Section 0-99 - not for release PROD is false.
Well, let's say all the WAIT FOR ANY KEY prompts slow down our testing scripts. We can use a conditional to disable them in a test build (when PROD is false).
if PROD is true, wait for any key;
Up next: organizing your code.
As always, feel free to AMA about Inform 7, Repeat the Ending, or just parser stuff in general.

I think one of the things that has puzzled me about Jegulus(insert obligatory “ship what you want” disclaimer here XD) is honestly just wondering why James would want to hang out with his best friend’s brother anyway lol. This could just be a me thing, but I have two siblings and I barely interact with my siblings’ friends(although tbf the age gap between me and my siblings is bigger than S and R’s age gap, so that makes it easier for us to not interact with each other’s friends lol) so I feel like James would probably be in that same boat where he’d rather hang out with his own friends rather than worrying about his friend’s brother. Not to mention Regulus was also a Slytherin so even we put aside the house rivalry, both boys would probably be more busy hanging out with people within their own house or at least within their own year. (Obviously Harry does together with Ginny who is Ron’s sister lol, but I feel like that was different, because they knew each other from Gryffindor House and Ron and they had already built up a good dynamic with each other before they started dating. Whereas there is no real evidence to suggest that it would have been like that for James and Regulus 🤷‍♀️)
(That being said I don’t mind stories where James and Regulus start to become friends-usually in stories where Regulus survives the cave, but I don’t see anything romantic between them unless one decides to drastically change the characters and then that gets more into AU character territory imo)
@puppyduckster you make a lot of the same points that I do. @toujours-prete summarized this in a comment on an earlier post: "I already know I'm basically getting fanfic for a fanfic of a fanfic. It's not the ship itself that bugs me, honestly! It's this really weird specific version of all the marauders era characters that I don't recognize whatsoever because it's not HP, it's an HP-inspired game of telephone."
HP-inspired is more like where Jegulus fits. It's not the canon characters at all, which is frustrating for people who do want to read about canon characters in a close to canon way, but Jegulus doesn't meet that (in my opinion).
I'm the same on the sibling thing. I'm one of three, wouldn't ever befriend any of my siblings' friends. They didn't befriend mine. My closest friends do not have overlap with their siblings' friends. it's not impossible, but as you pointed out, with Ginny and Ron, Harry was around both of them multiple times.
I see James and Regulus becoming as close as Ron and Draco after the war - it's technically possible that they became reluctant acquaintances, but no more than that unless we're going AU.
I suppose the ship and let ship thing works here, but like many others, my frustration is with the use of canon characters in a way that's so far from canon that they're mostly OCs. I like a good OC, but I'd rather know up front they're OCs rather than thinking I'll get a canon character acting in really un-canon ways.
And ofc I do like some un-canon stories, AUs, etc., but I tend to look for AUs that still feel like canon with a few exceptions.

First Tangible Strands of Progress
Tumblr media
Having started a new Unreal project (first person shooter seemed the closest analog to my own idea) I changed the sky colour to a ghoulish turquoise, something I had learned from the second project. I did try out some other aesthetics as well; namely, a more dusky orange sky.
Tumblr media
This one in particular is very reminiscent of the early days of Overdeath's development. I can only hope this one goes better. As you can also see, I built a few towers with purple lights in their perches. I will admit; the towers are pretty shoddily made; it took maybe two minutes in total, and if I put them in the final game, I'll probably use Maya or something.
Tumblr media
I may have increased the light level a little too much.
Tumblr media
I knew I wanted moving parts in the game; that was a prerequisite. After trawling the Unreal forums, I found a good explanation of how to make them, and it was the way I had previously planned: Timelines. This piece of code is connected to an actor shaped like a gearwheel, and from the game start, it spins. This took a bit of work and led to some comical events: for example, the gear would tumble horizontally because I hooked the Timeline output to the wrong axis. I then had to flip the gear model within the actor viewport, because it kept on spawning in on its side for some reason.
Tumblr media
Here is the finished scene. That big gear spins, though it isn't illustrated so well in an image. I added another tower for good measure, and a precarious stack of boxes that you can knock over.
Tomorrow, I have some more plans. Firstly, I need to implement doors. Walk up to them, press E, and they open on a Timeline. No more complex than a Doom door. Then we can have keycards and associated locked doors - same thing, just with a Bool in there as well. From there, elevators with activation switches (i'd probably use two different timelines, GoUp and GoDown, each activated by the respective switch, or do it on a flipflop somehow). Then I could even add trains that the player could ride across the map in.
As for gameplay, it'd require enemies. To facilitate exploration, you've got the obvious need to search for keys and the exit, but also to look around for ammunition. I want to implement combat in a very limited sense; in each level, you will have enough ammo to realistically kill half of all enemies, so searching around will make things easier, and you might be able to get out of a sticky situation, but it won't mean you can go on a rampage. I'm still not sure on how to implement the story.
