your blog looks really cool !! can i please have some headcanons of kaeya comforting his boyfriend after his boyfriend gets a rough call from his abusive home? it happened today and i'm not feeling great. if it's too dark of a topic you don't have to write it, no worries - thank you !!
Kaeya comforting his boyfriend
Warning: small mentions of an abusive family
A/n: awe thank you, it took me a while to settle on this new look for my blog :) also this request is totally okay with me dw love, also I'm so sorry you had to deal with that, you're a very strong and brave person in my opinion and I wish you the best love :) oh! Also it's my first time writing for this so any tips and so on are appreciated! I hope this is what you were hoping for! Also I'll be doing both modern au and the normal genshin here.
Reader: M!reader
Tumblr media
~Modern au~
If he's present during the call, he'll stay right beside his star, probably hugging him too
Really can't imagine why anyone would do anything remotely bad to his love but he's focusing on comforting his lovely boy :(
If the call becomes too much for his star he'd take over -with his babys concent ofc-
After a few words and insults, he ends the call and focuses on his beloved
Asks if you wanna talk about it, if you do, he'll let you lay on top of him on the couch and listen to everything you wanna let out while gently rubbing ur back to sooth you a little
If you don't want to talk that's fine too! He'll get a warm, comforting drink or snak for you, cuddle on the couch and either talk, watch ur fav movie/show or eventually fall asleep to some calming music
~Original genshin~
So, it's either a nasty letter from ur abusive family or a interaction that probably happened in public or at ur front door
If it's a letter, he'll read it later if you didn't get rid if it yet, and oh honey, he. is. Fuming.
Makes his special meal along with his stars preferred beverage
Comforts his love with reassuring words, soft kisses, warm hugs and a ofc the food and drink he prepared for his on and only!
It brakes his heart when his amazing boyfriend and soon to be husband is hurting :( his beloved didn't deserve any of this!
When I tell you he'd go to hell and back just for you, that's putting it lightly
When you fall asleep in his arms that night, he's plotting on more then a hundred ways to drag your "family" through the ground
Since he can't get physical, he'll tear apart any good repetition they have, he'll also put his relationship with diluc aside to ask for assistance and although diluc doesn't like keaya, he'll help
Your family was not only shuned by the people of mondstad but also most businesses around all the seven nations refuse to serve them and if they did, they are served with the shittyest service ever

Key Takeaways
Cheap Valentine's date ideas can include cozy nights at home, such as watching a romantic movie and having a candlelit dinner, to create a romantic and intimate atmosphere.
Outdoor activities like picnics in the park and romantic sunset walks can provide a chance to disconnect from technology and reconnect with each other, while also enjoying the beauty of nature.
DIY crafts, such as creating paper flowers or homemade cards, can add a personal touch to Valentine's Day celebrations and allow for creativity and personalization.
Cooking together can be a fun and cost-effective way to spend quality time with your partner, allowing you to plan a menu, shop for ingredients, and enjoy the process of preparing a meal together.
Cozy Movie Nights at Home
Create the perfect ambiance for a cozy movie night at home by dimming the lights, cuddling up on the couch, and pressing play on your favorite film. There's something undeniably romantic about the simplicity of staying in and enjoying each other's company.
As you snuggle under a warm blanket, the soft glow of candlelight flickering in the background sets the mood for an intimate evening. It's a chance to escape from the outside world and create a space that's uniquely yours.
To make the night even more special, why not combine it with a candlelit dinner? Set the table with your finest dishes, light some candles, and prepare a delicious meal together. As you savor the flavors and share laughter, the flickering candlelight adds a touch of magic to the experience.
And if you're feeling especially romantic, why not write each other love letters? Take a moment to express your deepest feelings and let your partner know just how much they mean to you. Pour your heart out on paper, and seal it with a kiss. It's a beautiful way to strengthen your bond and create lasting memories.
Picnics in the Park
Dim the lights, cuddle up on the couch, and enjoy a cozy movie night at home – but if you're looking to take your Valentine's date to the great outdoors, why not consider picnics in the park? Picnics in the park offer a delightful and affordable way to spend quality time with your loved one. Not only do they provide an opportunity to reconnect with nature, but they also create a sense of belonging and togetherness.
Pack a basket filled with your favorite snacks, sandwiches, and refreshing beverages. Don't forget to bring a cozy blanket to spread out on the grass. As you enjoy your delicious meal, engage in outdoor games like Frisbee or badminton. These activities not only add an element of fun but also encourage friendly competition and bonding.
Once the sun sets, seize the chance for romantic stargazing. Lay back on the blanket, hold hands, and gaze up at the twinkling night sky. Try to spot constellations or make a wish upon a shooting star. The peaceful ambiance of the park provides the perfect backdrop for intimate conversations and heartfelt moments.
Picnics in the park offer an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. They allow you and your partner to disconnect from technology and reconnect with each other. So, this Valentine's Day, create lasting memories by embracing the simplicity and beauty of a picnic in the park.

Learn the Ins and Outs of Homebrewing to Make Better Beer
It's true that life in the country has its advantages. Your social group likely resides in a more compact community that features abundant vegetation and open areas. However, you might not have many places to go to enjoy a cold one. It's possible that the neighborhood watering place only stocks Bud Light and Coors Light as their domestic beer options.
Is there anything to do for a beer aficionado? You will need a wide range of liquids and food choices to quench your thirst. To that end, home brewing is a viable option. If your local liquor store has a limited assortment, you may have to resort to making your own drinks.
There are four aspects of beer brewing that are universal, regardless of the style of beer being made. Yeast, water, malt, and hops are the foundation of any beer recipe. The final beer types are always a direct product of the brewing process. Some beers, known as "cold brews," are brewed at temperatures below freezing for their entire brewing process. Warm beers are the complete antithesis of ice-cold ones. These beers are best served at room temperature.
Home brewing can seem like a lot to take on when you're just starting out. Fortunately, this issue is easily fixed by investing in a beer brewing kit. The kit ought to have everything necessary, such as the ingredients and the instructions. However, before purchasing, it's important to verify exactly what components of the kit are included and what is not. If the necessary equipment is not already on hand, it will need to be purchased separately.
When making beer at home, it is crucial that all of the brewing tools be sterilized first. Freshly brewed coffee or tea is useless if it has been tainted. Beer goes bad quite rapidly when it's exposed to air.
While it can appear simple to brew your own, there are really several processes required. For your first few batches of beer, it's best to follow the directions to the letter. Once you've mastered the process, you may experiment with other ingredients to brew your own unique beer that's just what you need to relax after a long day at the office.
If at first, you do not succeed in making beer at home, do not give up! Making mistakes and gaining insight from them is integral to the process. You may be delighted with the outcome of certain batches, but not others. If the brew you made wasn't to your liking, try something else. This tasty drink has a wide range of possible preparations. Stick to the rules and do your best to have fun.
In the United States, the word "beer" refers to a single general concept. U.S. brews often have a subtle flavor and are easy to drink. This is because the average American has zero interest in debating the finer points of beer's aroma, flavor, and other sensory characteristics. Beer, which has developed over the centuries into a highly esteemed and respected cultural art form, deserves more respect than it has received in recent years, and this is unfortunate. The relationship between beer and the media appears to be weak.
Businesses of all stripes, from restaurants and bars to breweries and shops, have been on the hunt for favorable blog posts about their products and services since the beginning of blogging. Even more so in a highly competitive and much-enjoyed industry like beer, reviews are vital to the success or failure of a brewery. My most recent hobby is (metaphorical) globetrotting by trying new beers from all around the world. The breweries behind these beverages want beer drinkers to understand what makes their products unique. So, if you want to get your name out there, professional blogging can help you do that.
In those cases, I can be of assistance. My plan is to build up enough interest in my blog among beer enthusiasts that well-known breweries will contact me about reviewing their wares. This is a great plan because it provides people like me with little professional writing experience with an opportunity to do so. This is a dream come true for someone like me who has a genuine interest in the hospitality, culinary, and brewing sectors.
Rating and reviewing beers is a pleasurable pastime that can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of their level of oenophilia. Beers from all over the world were sampled at the two-hour class I took at Total Wine & More in Brea, California. Throughout the night, we sampled a wide variety of beers, including Belgians, Ales, Strong Ales, Stouts, Dark Ales, India Pale Ales, Red Ales, and even a surprise 'Sour Beer' at the end. The $15 fee was well spent on this course. They promised to give me food and water, and I would get to try 14 different kinds of beer. To ensure that everyone could get home safely, servings were kept small. The class was always upbeat and enthusiastic thanks to the teacher's upbeat demeanor. The focus of the presentation was on the beer itself, from its history to its various flavor profiles.
Judging beers in a contest is not a casual activity. All over the world, people gather for beer festivals and competitions, and the participants take the events seriously. Professional and amateur brewers alike compete annually for awards and recognition. There are four factors that go into the overall rating of a beer. The four senses involved are sight, smell, taste, and touch. Beers can be described in many ways, not just those listed here.
Color, clarity, and size of the head are the three most important aspects of outward appearance. Color names like "pale straw," "gold," "amber," "red," "honey," "caramel," "brown," "root beer," and "black" are all possibilities. Beer can range in clarity from cloudy to hazy to transparent. Head retention is measured by how much foam remains on top of the beer after being poured (Fun Fact: Wheat beers tend to have longer head retention than most beers).
Beer's aroma is one of the most enjoyable parts of the drinking experience. Beer's odors originate from the malts, hops, and yeast used in the brewing process. There are many different aromas that can be imparted into a beer by using different malts. The Hops are responsible for the beer's aroma, which can be described as floral, herbal, grassy, earthy, spicy, or any combination of these. In terms of aroma, yeast can contribute fresh, estery, fruity, or sour/tart notes. The overall scent can be bold and comforting, heady and alluring, barely perceptible, or nonexistent.
To save time, I'll just say that the above descriptions of the characteristics of smells can be applied to taste since the malts, hops, and yeast can render similar results to the tongue as to the nose. Most people would agree that this is the best style of beer to drink. Although contrary to common belief, the nose is linked to the mouth when it comes to the senses, as the taste would be severely limited without the ability to smell. When you have a cold or a stuffy nose, for example, it's more challenging to taste food.
For newcomers, the concept of "mouth feel" can be a bit more challenging to grasp. What's being discussed here is not just the beer's flavor, but also its mouthfeel. Describe the beer's texture and flavor, such as whether it's crisp, creamy, viscous, prickly, tingly, warming, or even hot. Complicating factors include the beer's overall harmony, body, and persistence on the palate.
Overall Impression: The judges' final thoughts on the beer's flavor and aroma.
In many competitions, judges use the same standard scoring sheet to rate the beers. There's a program for that called "Beer Judge Certification." This form, which resembles a sign-up sheet, includes sections for rating the beer and providing information about the brewer.

“I Got All A’s! Can I Have Some Dick?” (Bros + Undateables)
Just something stupid and funny I thought about. You had a very tough semester in the Devildom and you got good grades! You want to celebrate and go to your favorite demon to ask for a special reward.
Obvious NSFW warning. No minors allowed!
No Luke. Luke is baby.
I have a personal headcanon that Simeon likes to be totally cozy when he writes. We’re talking big fluffy sweaters or a blanket cozy. I like to think he wears glasses when he writes, too.
Lucifer
He’s part of a special committee who’s notified about your grades/progress so he actually knows before you do
Proud boyfriend is proud
Purrs when he opens up the wax-pressed envelope and reviews your marks
Secretly plans a cute, fancy dinner date at Ristorante Six
Is thinking of being suave and breaking the news to you when you bounce into his study (he may or may not have poured a couple of glasses of your favorite age-appropriate beverage)
He’s got something witty prepped and is ready to toast you and maybe steal a few kisses but you come out of left field like a bullet with a simple “I got all A’s! Can I have some dick?”
Lucifer.exe is broken
That’s what you want as a reward? No dinner, no date?
Literally doesn’t know what to say for a few seconds. Totally freezes. Starts to stutter.
His brain kicks back in when you start playing with the folds of his collar and petting his chest and staring at him with those wanting eyes
Sets his glass down, fixes the cuff of his gloves, and hoists you up to plant you on the nearest surface. “I will make it worth every point, and you will say all the letters.” he purrs.
Mammon
He’s just happy he passed.
Mammon actually does pretty well, he’s just a very...chaotically successful type. A lot of last minute turn-ins and such. Not top marks, but no dunce either.
Now that the semester’s over he’s checking his schedule to see when the next shoot is or if he has time to squeeze in a party. Maybe a trip somewhere. Something fun!
He’s feeling lucky! Lucky enough to win some money and make Goldie happy!
If he’s going anywhere, he needs a good luck charm though! He goes to hunt you down and his stomach just warms because you’re smiling and clearly in a good mood
It makes him purr in that cute, curious little way. Basically using the demon’s language to ask you why you’re in such a good mood (but you don’t know that. It’s basically a cute chirp).
You both shout your good news at the same time.
His invite to go tear it up was a bit long so it takes a minute for his brain to process what you said. You want...his dick?
Boy wants to blush SO BAD. HE’S SO RED!
Well now his thing seems stupid, doesn’t it? He wants to do your thing! Your thing sounds GREAT!
“OF COURSE you want to be with the GREAT Mammon!” he’s got his hands on his hips and his chest is puffed out big in that happy, silly way he has about him.
No, really, you do your thing. It’s a great thing.
It’s a good way to unwind from exams, right? He likes it!
Levi
If Levi didn’t get good grades, Lucifer would kill him.
Probably force him to go to school physically ALL THE TIME!
HIS SUBSCRIPTIONS WOULD BE AT RISK,OKAY?
He’s a solid B student (at least). No desire to be all A’s. Too much time away from other passions.
Because he’s well-behaved and leas likely to get on Lucifer’s nerves, he gets a little bit of bonus money for good grades.
Levi’s neck-deep in his charts and comparisons and muttering to himself about where to invest that money when you pop into his room
“I got all A’s! Can I have some dick?!”
You get The Noise
How indecent! How naughty of you to ask! But yes, yes you can. Absolutely. 100%!
He’s really shy about it because it’s sudden and you asked him instead of him having a cool moment or anything, but it ends up being a giggle-filled romp that ends with a cuddle in his bathtub bed and you wrapped up in his tail
He totally suggests a round two with a sexy VR game or just making bets with ‘winner take all’
Satan
He’s a grade juggernaut with lots of self-discipline so Satan expects to get out what he gets in
The type to be smug because he knows he did well. He owes it to himself and he’s glad.
Likes to treat himself to an outing, be it a simple walk or a visit to a cafe or even a new book
Satan’s 100% ready to settle down with some books by the fireplace. At the end of the semester he typically makes a one or two-portion charcuterie board and picks at it while he reads
Thumb keeping his place, Satan’s in the middle of stacking a fancy little cracker with meat and cheese when you let yourself in
His eyes flick to you and he smiles, eating his little cracker
You pick at his tray with him (he’ll let you, of course). “I got all A’s! Can I have some dick?”
Chokes on cracker. It’s not a good time
Almost drowns himself/further chokes trying to wash it down with drink
Can’t help but laugh at your...bold request
When he sees he’s kind of sputtered all over himself, he slips out of his clothes and makes a few witty jokes as your ‘naked butler’
Naked butler happily provides his services
Later he makes you picked crushed cracker off the floor with him
Asmo
The second Asmo knew he passed everything (like he always does. Just because he’s pretty doesn’t mean he’s stupid!), he booked himself a full day pampering experience
His inner circle of beauty specialist know his routine so they save his spots for him
Asmo sweet-talked them into including his favorite human and he’s DYING to tell you and DYING to make his brothers jealous
You skip into his room, so bright and lovely, and hold his hands in the cute excited way he likes. Makes his heart skip a beat every time like it’s young love.
“I got all A’s! Can I have some dick?”
Doesn’t expect it and has probably never been asked ‘Can I have some dick?’ in the thousands of years he’s been alive
Boy gives an airy laugh because he’s surprised and flattered. Of COURSE you want him (because who wouldn’t?) but he always gets a bit shy when it’s YOU asking
“Sounds amazing,” he’s already peppering you with kisses, “and I’m happy to provide but can we do it after our special spa day?”
You guys have a sweet, lazy round the day of the booking to ‘loosen up’ and ‘fully appreciate the services’ and he DEFINITELY worships you when all is said and done because ‘the epitome of beauty deserve the epitome of devotion’
Beel
Boy works hard and celebrates even harder. Usually with food
Because he’s always hungry and looking forward to eating, Beel likes to do his work ahead of time. The sooner he does it, the more time he has to eat!
He has to keep up good grades to stay on the sports teams, anyways
Solid B student, sometimes A’s. C’s and below aren’t a thing. He refuses.
Because he is also best boy and generally acts as Lucifer’s pseudo-enforcer, he also gets some bonus money.
The coach of his local sports team also pitches in because Beel is best boy and a TANK. He could literally carry the whole team
Beel’s all set to hit the town with his food money when find him and wrap your arms around him
He’s all excited and ready to tell you about the food money when you make his face catch fire. “I got all A’s! Can I have some dick?”
Brain also stops. BEEL IS SO EMBARRASSED!
You’d rather have him than food? That’s pretty impressive! He’s honored!
But...what if you could have both? He’s totally down for both!
You celebrate your success by staying in (bed) and spoiling yourselves with food in-between rounds
Belphie
Belphie is a ‘C’s get degrees’ kind of guy but C’s are his minimum. Tries for B’s and usually gets mid-to-low B’s.
With exams over he’s 100% down to sleep the day away and there’s NO REASON for ANYONE TO BUG HIM ABOUT IT!
Totally prepared to live in his finest pyjamas until school starts again. Might even treat himself to a new pillow or blanket!
If he hadn’t learned your scent by now, you wouldn’t have a face when you breach his blanket cocoon
Belphie just snorts and smiles at your little face and messy hair (the blankets give it static and mess it up)
You kiss his nose and wait to make sure he’s really awake before sharing the good news. “I got all A’s! Can I have some dick?”
Laughs himself to the point of almost choking on one of his blankets
Throws himself out of the cocoon to breathe and wipe his tears away
But yes, yes you can. After he calms down, he pulls you onto his lap to straddle him.
It’s fun and lazy but a genuine celebration of the end of the semester
Diavolo
He’s the other part of the committee that saw your grades, so he knows
It’s a bit off his plate so he won’t have as many duties to attend to
Diavolo wasn’t sure when you’d come over, but Barbatos assured him you’d be over that day. He did his best to speed through his meetings and arrange his schedule to have a rest period
He asked Barbatos to prepare a small, modest lunch of finger foods and some complimentary tea
You may have thought Diavolo was making himself a plate when you walked in, but it was actually a plate for you
The prince of the Devildom almost dropped that plate when you said, “I got all A’s! Can I have some dick?”
Prince of Hell is super blushy and flustered and awkward and almost knocks his teacup off the table. Is suddenly scrambling to make sure he doesn’t know anything else off the table
Tries to compose himself but can’t help the boyish smile and laugh that escapes him
You’re just such a lovely, fascinating person! He’s so happy to have you. His life seems eternal but you make it so fresh and new! His heart just bursts with love and delight.
Is no longer worried about the food or pushing in your chair for you. Offers his lap instead. “I have an opening for that,” he assures, pulling you onto his lap.
Diavolo likes to think he’s thoughtful about taking you on the floor because Barbatos doesn’t have much to clean up.
If your stomach grumbles after you’re settled and sleepy, he pulls himself off your body long enough to grab a plate from the table and put it beside your head.
Demons have more stamina and it would be un-princely of him not to spoil you, so he feeds you until you’re too sleepy to eat.
Barbatos
It’s exhausting to be able to see multiple timelines and see into the future.
He never knows how far into the future he’s seeing, or if it’s in the timeline he’s currently in
All he knows is he heard you ask him for dick and almost dumped the wrong thing in the soup, okay?
Had to excuse himself and ask someone on the cooking team to take over for him while he “dealt with another matter” (laughed it out where no one could hear him)
I’m not sure if Barbatos is considered a student at RAD, but Diavolo must be too. We’ll say he is. Boy is a master of self-discipline and scheduling so he’s fine. Flawless, as a butler should be. It carries over into all things.
It’s a delicate balance sometimes, but he’s type A and used to being busy so it works itself out. He does well.
Barbatos simply looks forward to having less to do. Focusing on Diavolo can be a job all its own.
He was planning on making a few sweets for Luke and the others. Diavolo suggested a “pot luck” to celebrate. It’s something the humans came up with and he seems to like it. It turns into sweets for the pot luck
Probably makes you a special mini-dessert or a special portion of the dessert
If he’s in control of plate presentation, you might get a special sauce heart of chocolate heart
When Diavolo is generous enough to include him in the celebration (because he deserves it and you’re there, so it’d be cruel not to), Barbatos makes small talk and woos you subtly
You ask him to “show you where to take the dishes” to get him alone. He can feel it in his little demon bones. You’re about to do it.
You do it.
You’re basically vibrating with excitement because you probably planned this and think you’re very clever. Human enthusiasm is so darling and it makes his heart pitter-patter to think you were simply bursting to ask HIM this.
“But of course,” he helps you stack the plates and guides your hand to the silverware sorter because you’re looking at him instead of what you’re doing. You almost put a fork in the spoon section. “Covered in chocolate? Plain?”
He’s trying to one-up you. He loves seeing his human change colors and not know what to do.
You whisper “I prefer wet,” back in his ear and Barbatos wonders how he didn’t see THAT in any of his visions
You: 1, Barbatos: 0. Helpless. Defenseless. Horny.
“That will be ready shortly,” he’s already pulling you away, down the hall, to meet your request.
Solomon
It wouldn’t serve him to do poorly in the Devildom. Basically wasted opportunity
He’s not a straight A student but he does well. Really pulls out the stops on major projects and things that are worth more points than others
Isn’t perfect at everything but makes up for it. Solid B’s, always really close to A’s. At least a couple low A’s.
Solomon doesn’t quite know how he wants to celebrate. He knows Asmo’s already pestering him to go shopping or clubbing
He’s considering it. He’d like to drink, honestly
You show up, light of his life, his favorite person, and he feels himself warm with joy
He revels in being the only other human in the Devildom. It makes your relationship that much more special, he thinks. It’s kind of stupid, but it’s something to coyly hold over the others whenever he sees fit. All in play, of course (not).
“I got all A’s! Can I have some dick?”
Pretends to think and looks anywhere but your face. If he looks at your face he’ll blush himself stupid and won’t be able to say anything smart.
He can’t lie. He’s already hard. He appreciates humor and wit and you’re all of it.
Very bold of you to come onto him like that, and he’s 100% for it.
“Can you take it?” Solomon wishes he said something smoother, that he wasn’t already slipping between your legs and grinding against you like the weak man he was. He doesn’t regret it though because the friction is good. Something you both need.
He whispers against your skin and gives you light, sloppy kisses with a hint of teeth.
He gives, and he’s generous. He wants to reward your efforts.
Simeon
Simeon makes it a point of personal pride to do well in the Devildom
That’s the utmost symbol of peace and understanding, isn’t it? To embrace their culture and livelihood and do well? To do well means he’s understanding them and walking in their shoes. It’s only right
He works hard and does well. Doesn’t stress himself out with A’s since he’s keeping up his grades because it’s required. He’d rather reconnect with the brothers and try to help Luke enjoy the Devildom.
He’s happy to spend his free time taking Luke to places in the Devildom, trying to visit the House of Lamentation, and maybe working on some things for TSL since editors are clamoring for more
You stop by because he’s been fairly quiet, wrapped up in his favorite writing sweater with his little editing glasses on
Simeon smiles and greets you with his little ‘Hi, angel’ as he kisses your hand.
Boy almost breaks his favorite pen when you ask him for...for dick?
He’s not absolutely clueless but this boy has been in ‘holy angel’ mode for centuries. He struggles with texting and stickers and you expect him to know slang?!
So confused he takes his glasses off. Boy can’t comprehend
“You’re asking me to procure one? Like...the ones humans use from those stores? You want mine? Well, I certainly hope so because we’re--oh...”
He could write books of poetry about you, and though he doesn’t like to admit it, he’s had those thoughts
“Well,” he’s standing up from his chair and guides you so gently to his bed it’s like you’re floating on a cloud. He lays you down just as gently, fabrics whispering as he slips out of his sweater and it pools at his feet. “I wouldn’t be a very good angel if I ignored the wishes of my dear human, would I?”
Doesn’t really see the point of sex as a reward, but will never turn down a moment to show how cherished you are.
Hope you liked it :)

The early morning rays streamed through thin fabric, draped above the assassin's window. Dust particles floated about, becoming visible within the section of light cast from the sun. The birds perched outside the small apartment tweeted happily from their branch, their songs beautiful.
Though, they were quite pesterous to the pair that lay together, wrapped in gray sheets. They reveled in the heat provided by the soft blanket, but even more so by the warmth from their joint bodies.
A mop of dark brown hair stirred, bringing one hand up to softly rub his eyes with his knuckle, the other hand snaking around the waist of the woman peacefully sleeping beside him. He watched with fond eyes as she lightly groaned, rolling to face away from the invasion of bright, turning towards her love.
Mitch smiled down at her sleepy behavior, reaching out and brushing stray hairs from her forehead. He reluctantly retracted it only moments later, forcing himself out of bed to go and prepare the two of them for their big day as best he knew how: Coffee.
His sock clad feet dragged across the hardwood as he went, his sweatpants hanging low on his hips and groggy-ness (a word Y/n had donned as her own, and Mitch had caught on to) still very prevalent in his entire system.
The Rhode Island air was frigid this time of year, Mitch allowing a grin to break out on his face upon remembrance of two nights previous, just how cold Y/n had been in the arena of the Providence Bruins hockey team. Nose pink, donned in a beanie proudly showing the team's logo, well, he had found himself a new lockscreen.
He shook his head in an attempt to rid himself of said groggy-ness, his body on autopilot as it made the beverages. He picked out her favorite mug from the cupboard (AKA a souvenir from Dubai he had picked up long ago) that she had adopted as her own, drinking out of it every time she would spend the night, almost like clockwork. He waited for his coffee beans to brew, scratching his stubble along his jaw. He flinched, though, when he felt two arms wrap around his middle. He quickly relaxed into the embrace upon realization of who the supposed assailant was, her head finding its way to rest on his bare shoulder.
“You scared me, there.” Mitch muttered, his larger hand inching towards her’s on his waist. He closed his eyes in content and she hummed in acknowledgment. Mitch allowed her to turn his figure to face her, still residing in her arms, seeing a bright smile plastered across her face.
“Only for a minute though, right?”
She laughed to which he chuckled in response, nodding in false surrender. “You’ve got me there, Y/n/n.” He mused, his eyes lighting up at the sound of the coffee machine beeping. He looked back to her, shrugging.
“I made you coffee, was gonna bring it to you in bed but, y’know.” He gestured to where she had now climbed up to sit on top of his counter, his sweatshirt around her that read “Brown University” across the front in large lettering pooling around her thighs.
“It’s alright, I need to get a move on anyway.” She smiled, hopping down to retrieve the mug, taking the warm ceramic from Mitch’s hands and sighing at the wondrous feeling that had spread through her whole body. She lifted it to her lips and drank, not surprised that her boyfriend had made it just the way she liked, to perfection.
“Thank you, baby.” She commented, reaching up to plant a chaste kiss on his lips. Her lip curled as she pulled away, Mitch already knowing what she was going to say, a laugh bubbling up in his throat.
“Mitch! Go brush your teeth, for the love of God!” She whined, watching as he scampered off towards the bathroom, snickering all the way. She rolled her eyes, downing the rest of her beverage before following where Mitch had gone.
Once in the bathroom after rinsing her and Mitch’s mugs, she tied her hair up, undressing and turning on the water (practically scalding hot, of course). Mitch had no objections to the temperature, though, seeing as it was his last time showering with her in that apartment, and in that apartment, period.
The whole thing felt very symbolic to Y/n, at least, seeing it as washing themselves clean for the next phase of their lives together, a sort of preparation. (Maybe not so much for Mitch, who really was just pleased for any excuse to see his girlfriend naked.)
They used generous amounts of soap, as not only were most of them nearly empty (in fact, a few were and if it weren’t for Y/n, they probably all would be), but also that they had decided to simply just buy new toiletries as a whole for their new place.
They giggled at the sight of each other, all lathered in bubbles and suds. Mitch reached a finger forward, wiping it from above her eyebrows and preventing it from falling into her eyes. Y/n brought her arms around his neck, her lips connecting with his. “Much better.” She regarded with a smirk, before leaning back in.
Nearly 40 minutes later, they both emerged from the shower, fresh faced and ready for the day ahead. He didn’t have a lot that needed to be packed up, given that his place came fully furnished, so it took all but 2 hours and 5 boxes to pack up Mitch Rapp’s life. It honestly might have taken even longer than originally would have been needed, as Y/n would stop every time she found something interesting, allowing Mitch to tell her all about whatever stories had been connected to the item.
It had started with the ridiculous bird lamp that sat on his bedside table, once belonging to Mr. Nazir, and ended with his lacrosse stick. (And, a promise that one day, he’d show her how to play. He swore he’d never seen her smile that big.)
They also threw away and donated a lot, some of Kat’s old stuff bringing a pained smile to his face as he would place it in a box simply labeled “Kat” in messy, thick letters. He wasn’t sure if the box would end up in his new closet, covered in dust and unopened, or back with her family. But either way, he wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to her completely, which Y/n was able to understand.
“Mitch? Did you pack away your coats already?” Y/n called out, opening up the closet near the front door. Her breath slightly hitched in her throat upon seeing all of the photos of Mansur, still pasted to the painted wood, the edges curling up.
“Nah, not yet, I was gonna handle that while you worked on the cupboards” He responded, busying himself with a text from Irene on his phone wishing him good luck. He looked up and saw what she had been asking about, his phone quickly sliding into his pocket as he made his way over to where she stood, visibly distressed.
“How long have these been here?” She questioned, feeling Mitch’s arms wrap around her shoulders. She brought her hands up to grasp onto his wrists, leaning backwards into him and biting into her lip.
“Since the beach, when I decided to go after Mansur. When everything happened with the CIA, it was kind of a whirlwind, I didn’t really have enough time to even think about taking it down when I was only even here for hours at a time.” He lightly chuckled, watching as she stepped forward and began to take the pictures down, crumbling them up in her hands.
She ran her fingertips over the indents left in the door, feeling the splinters against them. She turned back to Mitch, quipping how “Mr. Nazir won’t be too pleased about that.”
He smiled, joining her in taking all of the images down, ripping them or balling them up in his fists. All of them ended up in one of the old Target bags they had been using for trash, filling up an entire bag (minus a few Dunkin cups sitting at the bottom).
Mitch trailed a few tender kisses down the left side of her next, and though it sounds cheesy, a feeling of hopefulness flooded himself out of most of the bitterness that had been stuck inside for so long.
She turned her head to catch his lips with her own, and smiled into the kiss, her hand finding the back of his head. She lightly tugged on the chocolate colored strands and he groaned in content, to which her grin only widened. She pulled back, ruffling the top of his head before beginning to pack away the remnants of what was left in the closet. He rolled his eyes, following suit.
They had piled all of the boxes into the back of Mitch’s old decommissioned CIA vehicle (which was obvious that is was such, given that the side was littered with bullet holes and metallic scratches), returned the key to Mr. Nazir (who was glad to see Mitch go), and with that, they were off.
The new place wasn’t too far away, the pair taking a page out of Stan’s book and opting for a wonderful sense of privacy. It was nestled in a rural corner of Massachusetts, where Mitch would be able to come home to a sense of serenity. Y/n had already moved in her possessions, Mitch’s items being the last step. They’d also furnished the cozy cabin, trips to IKEA and Urban Outfitters (along with several other over-priced boutiques) making the place feel like a perfect fit for the couple.
Mitch’s strange and varied knick knacks made the house feel like a home, his lacrosse stick finding a new home by the front door, right under a hanging potted plant that Y/n and Mitch had decided to affectionately name “Charles” after a drunken night watching the X-Men movies. The house was littered in plants such as Charles, in fact, with Mitch’s first response to seeing all of them being “Wow, looks like a greenhouse in here.”
(Still, he’d grown to love the plant babies. Trust me.)
Two tired smiles made their ways to their faces as they both sat on their new sofa, admiring a job well done. Though several boxes still lay on the hardwood, unopened, they felt accomplished enough to pull out a bottle of wine that they had been saving for the occasion. It was an early housewarming gift from Stan, to which they were unprepared to take advantage of, it seemed.
“Baby, did we unpack the wine glasses earlier?” Mitch questioned, his mind slightly foggy of the day's events and early start.
“No, I think they’re still packed up.” She replied, to which Mitch’s eyes lit up, an idea forming and an imaginary lightbulb popping up over his head. He got up from his seat, a wide smile spreading across his face. Her expression mirrored his own, with an added quirked brow at his antics.
“I’ve got a solution, wait here.” Mitch responded, padding over to where he had remembered the new home of the mugs to be. Upon realization of what he was doing, Y/n smiled, rolling her eyes and bringing a hand up to run through her roots.
He shuffled back over moments later, his girlfriend recognizing one of the mugs in his hands as her favorite. He sat down next to her, with the bare skin of her thighs touching his own, jean clad. He bumped his knee to hers with a giggle, pouring out the Pinot Grigio into the mugs.
She gratefully accepted it as it was handed to her, smiling as she took a sip. Mitch did the same, the two of them leaning back into the soft sofa. Y/n brought her legs up, cuddling into his side and absorbing his warmth. He brought his free hand to her side, a strong hold giving them both a strong sense of comfort as she lay her head on his shoulder.
The box labeled “Kat” remained unpacked along with the others on the floor, dust already beginning to gather. Mitch had come across it a few times that day, each time more thoughtful than the last as he struggled to decide what it was exactly he was feeling towards the objects; or perhaps towards the memory of Katrina.
He had come to realize that it was acceptance he felt, deep in his stomach, settling down. It had been brought upon him in totality over time, today’s events being the final step. A soft smile spread across Mitch’s face, a single tear falling from his eye. Y/n looked up, eyebrows furrowed with worry.
“Mitch, are you alright?”
He leaned down, connecting their lips in a watery yet nectarous kiss, his hand beginning to rub small circles on her shoulder.
“Yeah, Y/n/n.”
The fire they had built earlier was roaring, now, casting a warm glow across the pair’s features. The damp trail down his cheek was highlighted, nearly glistening on his skin like an amber.
“I’m doin’ just fine.”

Slumber Party//RumixHawks
!!MINORS DO NOT INTERACT!!
Happy Eastern everyone! This is a little easter special and who better to choose than Rumi aka Bunny Hero Miruko? I usually don’t write about people with an animal quirk, so this is my first time and also the first time writing about a female character :)
Inspo: Slumber Party by Ashnikko
Summary: Hawks invites you to the annual Hero Eastern Party where you caught Rumis eyes and because Hawks was too much of a chicken to ask you out, she decided to have some fun with you.
TW:nsfw: lots of oral sex (everyone is receiving), unprotected penetration, lots of titty play, some sort of voyeurism, getting caught, threesome, chocking, hair pulling, spitting, a bit of manipulation/corruption, slight dirty talk, teeny bit of praise (calling you a good girl)
At first you were a bit hesitant to accept the invitation of Keigo when he stood in front of your doorstep with the letter in his hand.
“If you don’t want to that’s totally fine! Take your time to think about it. Just know, it would make me really happy if you decide to join me on friday,” he told you with a beaming smile.
It wasn’t that you didn’t want to, absolutely not. You would love to meet all the great Pro Heros, some more than others. The problem was, you didn’t know why-out of all people he could have asked-he asked you. So far, the two of you had been friends, nothing more, nothing less. There were a couple of times where you weren’t 100% sure if he was flirting with you, it was obvious, really, but maybe you just wanted him to flirt with you. But who could say no to the charming bird, a hint of a blush on his cheeks while he scratched the back of his head.
“I would love to, actually,” you let him know, taking the fancily decorated piece of paper from his hand. “Awesome! Great! I mean, cool. I will pick you up at five?”  “Sure, no problem,” was this a date? Should you ask him? Or did he just invite you because you knew how interested you were in the Hero Agency? “Wear something red, i’ll wear a red tuxedo so we match,” he called to you as he already walked away.
Filthy imagines of Keigo in a red suit filled your brain, his hand adored by golden rings roaming over your body, his golden orbs burning into yours while he fucked you in the car before you went in, wanting to mark you as his, let you know your his. But you weren’t. Not yet.
A soft knock on your door pulled you away from the lengthy mirror reflecting your body cladded in a red dress. It was dead on five o’clock, as if he waited in front of your door, counting down the seconds to be here on time, not a minute too late nor too early. Opening the door you were met with one of the most beautiful men on earth, waiting to escort you. His suit color matched with his wings perfectly, the black shirt underneath adored by golden details. The smile was quickly knocked off, shock now written all over his chiseled face. “Wow, Y/N, you look... stunning,” he complimented you, not being able to take his eyes of your beautiful frame. “Thank you Keigo, so do you,” was all you could say, your mind occupied with picturing his shirt on the floor while he fucked you from behind. “Shall we? The others are waiting for us,” your eyes fell on a limousine parked in front of your home, windows tinted black, making it impossible to see who else was inside.
While walking up the car Hawks informed you that Fat Gum, Mt Lady and Miruko would be riding with you and you felt your anxious the closer you got. “Don’t worry, they are all very nice. Most of the time...” he assured you, before opening the door for you, being greeted with warm welcomes. “So you’re Y/L/N Y/N? We’ve heard a lot about you,” Toyomitsu said when you sat down next to him, noticing Miruko’s eyes taking in every inch of your body.  “Yeah but bird boy never mentioned how gorgeous you are,” added the tan woman sitting across from you, making you blush. “It must have simply slipped my mind,” he said, giving her a warning glare across the vehicle, his hand suddenly on your thigh. She smirked at him before turning her attention back to you, who currently thanked Taishiro for a piece of the cookie he was munching on.  “Y/N, how did someone like you get in contact with our Pro Hero #2?” asked Yu, a hint of jealousy on her face, earning a slight jab to the sight from the woman next to her. “What? She isn’t a hero and he basically has no life besides the agency,” “As far as you know Takeyama,” Hawks was suddenly rather tense, he thought the Heros would show a bit more etiquette in front of a stranger. “We met a couple of years ago when she was a waitress in my favorite restaurant,” he shortly explained, his grip on your leg tightening. He already wasn’t in the mood for the party and endless speeches, he had no time for this.  These parties always brought some danger with them. So many Heros on one spot? Perfect target for an attack. If he hadn’t helped Endeavour with the safety system and checking it himself afterwards again, he wouldn’t be able to enjoy your company in peace.  Mt Lady warmed up to you after you gave her some compliments on her dress and appearance in general, telling her the hero work she had done was impressive. Not once did Miruko’s eyes leave you, much to Hawks dismay. He may or may not accidentally let it slip that she was one of your favorite heroes and he knew about Miruko’s recent break up with her partner, meaning nothing could hold her back if she decided to make a move on you. Also meaning he had to tonight, which he planned on anyway but now he knew his feelings for you were real, otherwise he wouldn’t feel as territorial about you the way he did. Hawks simply won’t leave your side tonight, that’s it.  When arriving at the party paparazzis where everywhere, police trying their best to keep them all behind the lines, some fans could be spotted in between them, yelling out every name of whatever Hero was appearing. When Hawks stepped outside the madding crowds attention was on him and him only. Cameras tried to get the best picture of him to sell to the biggest magazines, but his focus first was on you, taking your hand as you stepped outside the car, the others following close by.  “Please wait here for me,” Hawks told you before walking up the crowds, talking to his fans, signing whatever they gave to him, the best he could with the security keeping a close eye on them.  “Come on, you can wait for him there, it’s so loud here,” said Miruko, her hand at the small of your back, sending shivers up and down your spine while you looked at her through your lashes. “I’m not making you nervous, am I?” she asked with a small smirk and a certain glim in her red eyes, a strand of her white hair falling in front of her face. “Great, then let’s go inside,” she waved to some fans, posing for a few pictures with you next to her before stepping into the big hall flooded with warm light emerging from the massive golden chandeliers hanging from the tall ceiling. The floor was made out of marble tiles, a red carped rolled out and smaller ones leading to every room on the long floor. You could spot Best Jeanist talking to Aizawa in front of the golden door that lead to the party about a student named Bakugo. Music was blaring through the speakers as you enter with Miruko, no less than Present Mic being in charge of the music.  “So... You and Hawks. Is that something serious?” Miruko asked you, taking a glass of orange juice from the tray a waiter offered the two of you as you took a glass with your favorite beverage.  “Oh, we’re just friends, nothing more, I’m single” you told her, checking behind you to see if he walked in already but no sight of him so far.  “Good to know,” she smiled at you before asking her next question. “What are you currently doing? Hawks mentioned you-” before she could finish her sentence a red wing cut appeared between the two of you, attached to it a rather unpleased looking Keigo. “I thought I told you to wait for me, I’ve been looking for you,” he told you, glaring at the rabbit behind his wing who looked at him innocently. “Sorry Keigo, it was just so loud,” you apologized, adding: “But I was in good company the whole time, nothing could have happened,” you tried to calm him down, a warm smile on your face as he grabbed your hand into his, pulling you away rather rough. “I want you to meet everyone,” he told you, looking to Rumi over his shoulder, shaking his head while she sipped on her juice.  You talked to every Hero possible, all that matters was that Hawks could keep you away from Rumi. Rabbits weren’t hunters, not like Hawks, she should know not to try him, he thought. But then again Usagiyama wasn’t like the rabbits he knew. She knew she can get whatever she wants and wasn’t afraid to let anyone know either and if she played her cards right she would be able to get you. Something he doesn’t like to think about. It was 7.30 p.m when Yamada turned the music down, the attention now turning to him. The blond activated his quirk, letting everyone in the room know: “Dear Ladys and Gentleman, dear Non-binary, today we want to celebrate Eastern, thanking each and everyone of you for keeping us save and sound from all evil. Also of course, a big thank you for those not being able to attend as they are on patrol today, keeping their eyes out for any danger. Special shout out to Endeavour and Hawks for making sure we’re save in here as well. Speaking of our Heros, the top three prepared a speech for us, will you please step up here and let the guests hear what you have to say?”  The three of them walked up to the stage, applause erupting from the whole group as they made their way up, the spotlight on them, but Hawks’ eyes on you. While Pro Hero #1 held his speech he kept you in his sight, watching the entrances every now and then just in case. Once in a while he would also try to find Miruko and he wasn’t happy when he noticed that she slowly made her way over to you.  She whispered something into your ear and he could see that whatever she told you got you flustered, your eyes now leaving him as you looked at her. “...Hawks speech...” was all he could read from your lips and sure enough it was finally his turn to say something. He tried to keep it as simple as possible, his wings itching, hoping this was over soon enough so he could return to you. Before he could leave the stage Endeavour’s large hand held him back, a stern look on his face. “Don’t you dare walk away now, have some manners,” he warned him, making the winged man huff in annoyance. As he stepped besides Enji his eyes fell to where you were standing just mere seconds ago, all that was left an empty spot. His phone bussed, once twice. He knew it was the Rabbit considering she was no where in sight. Best Jeanist of course took his sweet time and the longer it took the louder Hawks imaginary clock was ticking. You on the other hand were enjoying yourself a lot. Rubi had let you to her hotel room that she has rented, it was far up and you enjoyed the view over the city. “We’ll go down there when the buffet is open, don’t worry. Hawks will understand that we left, neither one of us is really enjoying these things,” she told you, watching you taking in the view, while she was enjoying hers. “Y/N, I have heart a rumor, can I ask you something about it?” the woman behind you spoke up, making you turn around, noticing the way she licked her lips, biting on them softly before letting go. “Of course, anything Miruko,” the way she was watching you made you tingle. “Great. Hawks told me that I’m one of your favorite heroes, is that true?” she walked closer to you, her hips swaying from side to side. “He told you?” it was embarrassing to know that Hawks would tell her about the little crush you had on her, why would he tell her? To tease you? “He said was that you were excited to meet me,” ‘oh’ was all that could leave your lips at this point, wanting to die on the spot. “That’s nothing bad darling, the opposed to be exact. Taking that in consideration, you want me to be happy, right?” her voice was sultry, her body now right in front of yours while her hands once again returned to the small of your back. “Yes,” you whispered, her thumb tracing your agape lips. “That’s a good girl. If I tell you it would make me happy to kiss you and taste you, you won’t say no, right? You’re save with me, I’m #5 after all,” you could feel her breath on your lips by now, knowing that as soon as her thumb will leave your lips her mouth is on yours. “Yea,” your breath hitched when she pulled you flush against her, feeling her chest press up against you, heat radiating off of her. She smelled amazing, you noticed, a mix of her own smell with her perfume. Without another word her lips crashed into yours. Sitting down on the velvety arm chair that was placed in the corner of the luxurious room, she pulled you on top of her while her tongue slipped into your mouth. Her hands traveled up open your dress, letting it fall loosely around your waist. Once your chest was exposed to her she could do whatever she wanted to. Warm hand cupped your right tit, massaging the soft skin, thumb circling over your erect nub. You clenched your legs around nothing, feeling your pussy craving for attention, to be touched and played with. Moans slipped past your lips, making her push her cladded, muscular thigh between your legs and giving you some friction where you most craved it. It was hard to hide how badly you needed more, trying your best to move your hips without her noticing, but failing miserably. “It’s okay darling, you can grind on my thigh if you wanna,” she remarked against your puffy lips, captured once again in a wild kiss. You were slowly grinding yourself down, her other hand on your hip, holding you down while every now and then bouncing her leg to hear you whine and huff. Her fingers were now pinching your nipples, circling around them,  Your hips circled on top of her thigh, going up and down, feeling a knot build in the pit of your stomach. Miruko noticed how you pushed down harder, your hips going faster. She decided to help you out, letting go of your lips and wrapping her plum lips around your other side, sucking and flicking her tongue over your your mouth sensitive spot. Red eyes watched you through thick, white lashes, the way your mouth fell open as soft moans tumbled from in between them, the way your eyes were almost shut close, pleasure written all over your face. “Gonna cum for me? All over my thigh? I bet you thought about this a hundred times already huh? Just wait til I really do something, I’ll give you the best cunnilingus in your life, something Hawks can only dream to give you,” the combination of her thigh rubbing against you and the attention she gave your tits send you over the edge within seconds, loud moans making the white haired woman wet, ready to eat you out before pleasing her.  She moved your hips against her thigh, making you ride out your orgasm before tapping your ass to signal she wants you up. Your dress now fell down completely and she helped you step out of it before leading you to the bed, pushing you down on it. Putting on a little show for you while getting herself undressed you couldn’t wrap your head around how fucking beautiful Miruko was. Her arms flexed while she pulled her shirt off, hair swaying when the top was gone completely, covering her chest a bit before she opened her white lace bra, her boobs springing free and all you wanted in that moment was to play with them, lick them and please her. When she bend down to pull off her pants she made sure you had a good view on her ass, watching it jiggle, the muscles in her legs flexing as she stepped out of it.  Rumi crawled up to you, her hips between your legs as she kissed you again,  now trailing open kisses down your body, stopping at your boobs once again, sucking them, sharp tongue spelling her name across them before continuing her way down, hands gripping the thin fabric covering you up pulling them off of you slowly. Before she gave you what you were begging for, she bit and sucked your inner thigh, enjoying the way you huffed in annoyance, body tensing up every time she would halt in front of your glistering pussy. One time she blew some cold air onto your clit, making you jolt a bit in surprise. Just as you were about to beg again she licked a long strip from the top to the bottom, wrapping her lips around your clit and sucking on it. The way she performed french on you turned you into a moaning mess. Every now and then she dipped her tongue into your hole, collecting your wetness before returning to your nub. The beating of big wings made you open your eyes and you sat up in shock, your eyes meeting pissed of golden orbs. Miruko pulled away from you, a string of saliva still connected to your cunt. “How nice of you to join us,” she told him, a smirk on her lips. “What a coincidence your window was left open,” he remarked, climbing through it. “That wasn’t a coincidence,” she let him know, pushing your hand down as you tried to cover yourself up. “And your texts? ‘I've been picturing her naked ever since you showed us a picture of her’ and ‘she looks like a fucking painting, something I’ve been praying for, thank you for bringing her, you’re a true wing man?’What about those? And when you send me the picture with your hotel room number?” “Well, I was simply hoping you would join us, it’s eastern after all, there is no better pair than a rabbit and a little chicken, wouldn’t you agree? And just look how needy she is. It would only be fair if we take care of her,” the both of you could see Hawks’ dick harden while his wings puffed up a bit, before sitting down onto the same chair Rumi made you cum a few minutes ago. “Show me your talents then, let’s see how fast you can make her cum,” he told the woman between your legs, opening his pants and pulling out his throbbing cock. You watched how spit on it, wetting it so he can wrap his hand around himself, slowly pumping up and down.  Of course she didn’t need to be told twice, her tongue spelling your name between your legs, pushing two fingers into you. Curling motions send waves of pleasure through your body. You didn’t know where to look, watching you getting eaten out or Hawks basically fucking himself on the arm chair. He wasn’t massive in length, bigger than what you were used to definitely, what made you gulp was his thickness. He couldn’t even wrap his hand  around himself completely, how would that ever fit into you? The man caught you as you eyed him or rather his meat in his hand, raising his eyebrows.  “What? Wanna have a taste?” he asked you and all you could was nod, another moan of yours filling the room. “Sit on Miruko’s face then,” Hawks ordered, making the tan woman stop for a moment to turn on her back, pulling your right on top of her again so you sat up straight, not giving you a moment to catch your breath. The feathered man stood up, his clothes joining the pile on the floor. Stepping on to the bed he made sure he could balance himself against the wall to stand still. Next thing you knew was his hand in your hair making you look up to him as he spit into your mouth for some extra wetness, shoving his hard cock down your throat without a warning. Nothing was able to hold him back from fucking your in pleasure twisted face, the moans you tried to let out thanks to Miruko sending vibrations through Keigo’s shaft. Tears mixed with mascara ran down your cheeks, trying so hard to breath but the way he pounded into you made it impossible. The hand that wasn’t inside of you found its way back to your tits so she could play with you again, feeling you clench around her hard. Another orgasm came crashing down, legs shaking as Hawks pulled out, letting you basically scream out a string of curse words, catching your breath. “Isn’t she such a good girl? Letting us fuck her however we want to?” he praised you, holding your cheeks between his hand. “Should have seen how she fucked herself on my thigh,” Rumi told him, thumb wiping across her lips before sitting up, pushing the now wet finger into your mouth so you could taste yourself.  “Want a taste?” she asked Hawks, pulling him in for a kiss as she pushed her tongue past his lips, letting him taste whatever was left of your juices.  “Delicious baby, can’t wait to have a taste later,” the naked man let you know, pulling you to him by your hair, both of their eyes on you. “Now it would only be fair if you let Miruko cum too don’t you think? Don’t worry I’ll fuck your needy little cunt,” Hawks delivered a small slap to your clit followed by a small moan of yours. He pushed you down onto the mattress, pulling you close to him by your thighs, his dick dipping into your entrance but pulling out again, teasing you as he stroked up and down slowly.  “Stop teasing Keigo,” you whined, buckling your hips up to get him into you more but he only swatted your thigh, leaving a pink spot behind. Agonizing slow he pushed past your opening, pressing in little by little into your velvety heat. His shaft was unbelievably thick, stretching you out just right, making you feel stuffed full. “Please,” you whined, your pussy throbbing, needing more, craving for every inch of him. “Please what?” he asked you, raising his eyebrow, pushing in further. “Please fuck me,” you sounded so desperate, so fucked already, how could he say no to this? Never would he deny you his dick. Throwing your legs over his shoulder he pushed in balls deep, waiting for Miruko to be comfortable. Your hands clasped her thick thighs, nails digging into her skin as Hawks started moving, slowly at first to let you adjust to his size, watching you lapping at the heat of the strong woman on top of you. Her face twisted up in sheer pleasure as you showed off your tongue skills below her. “That mouth is heaven,” he groaned, earning a nod of agreement. “Fuck... Especially when she moans, you gotta fuck her harder, she likes that,” she panted, eyes rolling in the back of her head for a short moment. Hawks hands on your legs tightened, surely leaving marks behind in the next morning as he picked up his speed, pounding into you harder, his balls slapping  the swell of your ass every time. This caused your moans to turn louder, the vibration that were sent to Miruko’s clit even harder now.  The dark hotel room, only illuminated by the moon light and a small light at the door, was filled with some of the filthiest sound you ever heard, your sweat and perfumes mixing, every now and then a breeze of fresh air slipping through the open window. Hawks was close to releasing his load inside of you, watching you eat out another woman almost making him lose control. And Miruko was close as well, feeling the knot on her stomach almost ready to be released and he could sense that, dipping down to lick her tits, sucking and playing with them. The new surprising sensation made her push herself more onto you, while  you continued to lick her wet cunt, making her release all over your face. After she came down from her orgasm she pulled away from you, letting Hawks have full control over you. He took this opportunity to wrap his hand around your throat, his lips now on yours, tasting the other hero. Your thighs were pressed flushed against his chest, your knees on his shoulders and your ankles locked behind his head. The new position made him hit your g-spot over and over again, grunts of him filling your ear. “You like that, don’t you? Getting fucked by the two of us? Two of the worlds biggest Pro Heros having their way with you, what a dirty little girl you are,” he groaned into your ear. He tightened his hand around your throat, cutting of your blood flow as he made you look into his face. Keigo had something taunting on his face and the look got you clenching around him. “You’re close aren’t you baby?” he asked you, a ‘yes’ falling from your lips as nothing more than a tang. ”Let everyone know who you belong to, let them know you’re mine, mine alone,” he growled, eyes on the woman walking into the small hotel bathroom who simply winked at him, mouthing ‘all yours’ before disappearing. even though you thought it wasn’t possible he put all of his energy into the next thrusts and you screamed out his names as you came around him, legs shaking against him, eyes watery and head completely fucked. Hawks followed moments later, the snaps of his hips turning sloppier before completely halting, making you feel his dick throb inside your wet walls.  Keigo pulled out of you slowly, letting your legs gently fall down, making sure he didn’t choke you too hard. His hands caressed your face while you were in full bliss. He could hear Miruko turn off the shower, stepping outside in nothing but a small towel around her figure.  “How about you sneak some food up for us, I don’t think any of us are really in the mood for the party anymore,” she said, her eyes falling onto your still shaking frame. “Sounds like a plan, I will be back in a few, you got this?” he asked with a smile on his face.  “Oh yeah totally,”  With that he got dressed as proper as he could, flying down again to grab a big pile of food for the three of you while Rumi helped you cleaning up, letting you borrow one of her big shirts she packed.

The Angel of Angel’s Share
He spotted you on his occasional endeavors to Angels Share, being an outstanding and tremendous help to Charles when it came to cleaning up and serving drinks to the patrons of his humble business. You insisted that Charles let you help out once in a while as a side job — you needed the mora. Upon getting Dilics rather passive approval in a letter you got in! You spend most nights tidying up, wiping down tables and cleaning glasses periodically. Many of the bar patrons converse with you. Calling you the literal Angel of Angel’s Share. Your beauty was no secret, every man and woman there simply adored you. How could they not? You were friendly, outgoing and most importantly, kind. Your smile was as radiant as the sun itself and of course Diluc had to witness it with his own two eyes. Word did not spread around his establishment without him in the loop. Kaeya frequented the bar more often to flirt with see you; he was a regular before, but now? You rarely go a night where you don’t see him, even if it’s for a short while. Charles has to make snide comments about him slacking off to get him to leave.
All it takes is one night for things to burn brightly into something new, a night akin to this one. Diluc stood behind the counter to relieve Charles for the night shift — he had been there all morning and the night before. You walked in as Diluc was speaking to Charles, you wasted no time in maneuvering to the second floor to clear those tables first.
“Enjoy your night off Charles, I’ll take it from here.” Diluc waved him away and well, it left you there with him. Not alone of course, not yet. As the night pressed on you entertained the customers, served them delicious drinks Diluc prepared and made friends with Stanley?? The busy happy hour of Angels Share gave you no time to take a break. Not until it was well after hours and Diluc had locked the doors to Angel’s Share for the night.
“Good work today.” You chirped happily, as you sat at the bar of the counter atop a stool. Diluc prepared you spiked wolf hook juice on the house; it had a bearclaw kind of taste to it. One of Dliuc’s hands held an empty glass whilst the other dried it with a plain off-white dish cloth.
“I should be saying that to you, you overachieved tonight.” He didn’t mean for his comment to come off as brash, even though it did. You glanced up at him over the top to your glass, your eyes narrowing slightly in amusement. He quickly corrected himself with a light clear of his throat. “Not...that, that’s a bad thing. You..did well.”
Talk about awkward, you and he hadn’t spoken much since your employment over the past few months. You were undoubtedly curious about this handsome man with hair the color of fire. All dressed in black and a wielder of a claymore. He had to have some form of immense physical strength to do so and it only made you wonder what else he could do.
“Why thank you Master Diluc.” Your lips curled into a coy smile as you peeked up at him over the rim of your glass once more. His eyes were like flames too, and his gaze made you burn. It’s strange, so many people address him as Master Diluc regularly and yet you were the only person that was able to stoke the fire within him. Intentionally or not he enjoyed the way it rolled off your tongue and he wanted to hear it again. His hand stopped moving in the glass and he set it down neatly next to the others that were lined up.
“There’s no need to thank me, everyone deserves recognition for their hard work.” He played it cool, you’ll give him that. You stood up, hopping off the stool to the bar, only to walk around it and move past him. You were shorter than he was, he saw the top of your head. He was in the midst of asking you what you were doing but you stopped in front of him to drop to your knees. He fucking froze, he watched you completely unsure of what was going to happen next. He prayed to the gods that you weren’t going to do what he wanted you to do. He wouldn’t be able to keep it together otherwise and he doubted he’d stop you. With a cheeky grin you stood back up with a large jug of homemade grape juice in a hand. He exhaled quietly, letting out a silent sigh that caught in his throat. His face remained straight with a hint of a slight irritable frown threatening the corners of his lips. You proceeded to stand in front of him, turning your back to him to pour a glass of his favorite beverage.
“I know you don’t drink and I heard you liked grape juice from your brother. Why not sit and join me for a while?”
His eyes drifted down the back of your figure before he stepped aside shamefully, Kaeya rubbed off on him more than he cared to admit. Even so, he was ignoring any and all signals you were sending him. Or at least he was trying his very best to. Certainly nothing came that easy— a passing thought you both shared. He sat beside you at the bar, it was silent for a little while. You looked at him with a slight turn of your head and moved to place a hand on your cheek. He lowered the glass from his face and looked over at you. Seeing him up close was making you nervous, you thought you had it in you to seduce this man but you began having second thoughts. He stared at you as if he was trying to read you like a book. It only made things more complicated which lead to you doubting yourself even more. Kaeya never made you this nervous even when he flirted with you.
“My brother told you I liked grape juice what a nuisance.” He said, breaking the silence; he had to the cat ripped out your tongue. You looked at the glass jug and then at him and finally smiled, breaking a light sweat from your overthinking.
“O-Oh, yes haha.. he was teasing you quite a bit.” Diluc didn’t find it amusing Kaeya could get under his skin like it was his job. A light ‘tch’ left his lips as he raised his glass. You followed suit needing more liquid courage than you initially thought. “It’s okay,” You sighed out, you cheeks warming from the bitter sweet drink. “Apple juice is superior in any case.” Diluc looked at you and a light smile crossed his features as he shook his head.
“It’s not.” He stated, “At all in fact.” You caught his semi playful gaze, you narrowed your eyes a little at the comment. “Sunsettia juice is even better in all aspects.” You chuckled and lowered your hand onto the table.
“Coming from the juice enthusiast himself why am I not surprised.” Diluc smirked a bit, finding your comment funny. He looked at you and your radiantly warm smile; it really did resemble that of the morning and setting sun. The two of you remained there conversing with each other well into the night, losing track of time. He hadn’t felt this at ease with anyone by his side in a while. Jean was a great friend to talk to but she was so busy he rarely got to speak with her. He was too in his own right, running the wine industry in Monstadt was no easy task.
“Do you enjoy working here?” He asked as you stood up to stretch, the tables in the back still needed to be cleared, a few drinking tankards, bottles and glasses were scattered about. His question made you think, you loved the night atmosphere of the tavern and the people that came with it.
“Of course I do, it’s very inviting I dare say more than Cats Eye.” You looked his way with a grin he stood up along with you a faint smile playing at the corner of his lips. “Though I do have my work cut out for me here.” You quipped lightly before making your way to the back of the bar where a wooden bench table sat nestled in the corner with a small cabinet and barrel behind it. Diluc followed after to aide in an easy clean up you worked hard enough for tonight. With your back turned you bend over the table without fully walking around it to reach for the glasses and tankards. Your arms were quite short given your stature, without thinking too deeply into his actions Dilic stood halfway behind you to grab the bottle.
“It’s fine to take a break once in a while. There is no need to overwork yourself.” He stated plainly as he picked up the second bottle that sat next to the first. Unbeknownst to him you felt his presence the moment he stepped up behind you. He smelled like a freshly lit fire in the middle of the Whispering Woods his warmth drew you in. You stepped back somewhat unintentionally, your backside grazing him lightly as you turned around to face him. Even on your toes you wouldn’t be at eye level, he stared down at you a bit embarrassed by what he believed was his fault. He opened his mouth to apologize, you couldn’t stop yourself from stealing a kiss. When your lips pressed against his in a sweetened and heated kiss, you noticed Diluc tensed up. The bottles he had fell over onto the surface of the table. Upon hearing that you pulled away and stood flat footed against the edge of the able. You avoided looking at him and tugged on the ends of your hair sheepishly.
“Sorry I...don’t know what came over me, I thought maybe...“ With your half hearted apology you trailed off looking up at Diluc who stared down at you with a perplexed look in his eye. With his gloved hand he reached up to cup your cheek and leaned down to press his lips firmly against yours. His other hand moved up to hold the other side of your cheek. He wanted to kiss you the moment everyone left. Your lips moved in time with his, your hands finding themselves holding onto the sides of his coat. Without breaking the kiss, he lowered his hands to your waist and then to your thighs. In one swift movement he effortlessly lifted you to sit you on top of the table. The bottles on the surface rattled upon him doing so, slightly moving the table in the process. Your hands moved up his chest from his sides as his own slipped further down your legs to hold onto your waist. His pants were growing tighter by the second, you were so beautiful and he hadn’t voiced it yet. Not that he was given the chance to, the moment you both came up for air you pulled him into another fierce kiss, you legs locking around him in efforts to draw him closer. You needed him to ruin you on that table top and he wasn’t going to deny you of one of life’s simple pleasures. After all this man made it so that people could drink happily within the safety of Angel’s Share. Your tongue moved past your lips and Diluc gladly glided his own over yours to gain access. His hand moved back up to your cheek only to slip down to your neck to hold you in place as his other hand moved up the side of your thigh to squeeze. His leather gloves felt so good on your skin, you wanted to feel more of him.
Your hands moved from his sides to his pants, fumbling with the belts and buttons to try and get them loose. Diluc moved to kiss your neck, his warm lips trailing hot kisses against your soft skin. He made an audible sound, a muffled moan as he kissed the nape of your neck. You tugged him closer upon finally undoing his bottoms. His hand wandered down your side and moved to hitch up your work tunic, the other pulling onto the string to your top. He yanked it down to reveal your bare chest, as he exposed your legs and thighs. He was going to thoroughly enjoy fucking you on top of that table. A slight smile crossed his features as his index finger and thumb moved down to grip your chin, he tilted your head up to look into your eyes. Never has a man made you this weak with such a simple gaze.
“Is this what you want?” He asked quietly, he wasn’t going to begin without asking you. Your brows furrowed in need and you nodded as your eyes searched his face. His own were a bit complacent when he didn’t move to give you what he knew you wanted; he wanted to hear you say it. He only moved in to kiss you once more before his lips found the skin of your neck again.
“Diluc..please.” You whined, he smiled lightly against your neck and kept kissing. You wondered why he was only kissing you, unbeknownst to you his hand moved down in between your legs and his crotch to free his fully hardened member from the confides of his trousers. “M-Master Di—“ Your breath hitched in your throat and you moaned out the rest of his name, a deep growl moving past his lips as he slipped inside of you. He stretched you out continuously as you contracted around his length in utter bliss. Your legs squeezed around him and his hands gripped your waist and thigh. Pulling you closer to his chest as he bottomed out inside of you. Your eyes rolled back as he pushed himself further; your lips parted in a light moan and your hands tangled in his red locks. Diluc’s hand moved from your thigh to your neck to hold you in place briefly as he leaned back to look at your face. It was intoxicating, if he could get drunk off your facial expressions he would. He pulled back and thrusted hard into you, your body jerked up and the table moved along with the bottles and glasses on top of it.
You cried out in pleasure and your hips bucked against his. He bit down on his bottom lip to surpress a groan, he thrusted once again, finding a hard and steady rhythm that left your body jerking upwards against the table and your chest exposed for him to see. An alluring sight that made him thrust even harder and your loud moans to fill the atmosphere of the bar. Mixed in were his own light goans and mild grunts, even as he laid you flat onto the table he didn’t stop. Though the pace slowed a bit, he became more forceful with his movements which made your back arch into his chest and your legs shake. You were going to cum a lot harder than you expected, you could feel it and so could he, you caught wind of a faint smirk that slipped across his face as he kissed you. A kiss deep enough where you could lose oneself. Your hands tugged at his hair and your face pleaded with a need for release.
The bottles, tankards and glasses had since fell onto the floor of Angel’s Share. Not that either of you could be bothered by it now. As your climax rushed at you like a battering ram Diluc groaned out low into your ear the sound made your body quiver, you were about to milk him dry. Your hands slipped out of his hair and fell back onto the table as you convulsed in an intense high. Diluc held you in his arms and sat you back up, with your legs wrapped around him once again. He turned and sat on the edge of the table with you on top, allowing you to ride out the rest of your orgasm as he filled your depths with his hot seed. The feeling itself made you shutter as he buried his face into your chest and his arms wrapped around you, the moan he let out was something you could never get tired of hearing. The area in Angel’s Share that you two both shared had grown hot, the sweat you broke out was enough to cause your breathing to be ragged.
“Master Diluc...” You mumbled into his hair with closed eyes and a smile, his hands rested on your waist as his head rested on your chest. He moved back to look up at you, his hand moving to brush your cheek. He kissed your cheek as he pulled back to look at your face.
“Yes?” He replied, a smile crossing his features, you grinned at him finding the humor in his answer. You kissed him once more, this time slowly to savor the taste of his lips. He looked up at you, his eyes flickering like fire. “There’s going to be a shipment at the Dawn Winery from Liyue, Charles usually comes to pick it up but, I trust you enough to be there in his stead.” Upon hearing those words you knew you’d see him again.
“I will gladly be there, Master Diluc.”
Bonus
After your visit to the Dawn winery a few day ago, you decided to get an afternoon drink at Angel’s Share. Outside you ran into Kaeya and Diluc sitting at one of the tables outside. Kaeya spotted you first of course and when your eyes met Diluc’s a smile surfaced onto your face and his own softened a bit. Which, caught Kaeya’s attention quickly; being the absurdly perceptive man that he was.
“You’re here early, I thought your shift doesn’t start until sundown.” Kaeya spoke with a smile that was suspiciously sly. Diluc sat there with his arms crossed and a placid frown on his face, you sat with them and looked at Kaeya unamused.
“I thought I’d get a drink before my shift, I’ve been quite busy as of late.” You replied moving a hand to rest on your cheek, Diluc was silent and Kaeya looked between you both before his eye settled on you.
“Have you now? You know, a few days ago I went to the Dawn Winery looking for you and Diluc seeing as Charles said you were going to be there.” Kaeya held up a letter from grandmaster Jean and waved it in the air idly. “I needed to deliver a letter from the active grandmaster to Diluc and hoped I’d run into you there and yet...I couldn’t find either of you.” Diluc frowned deeper and your smile began to fade slowly, your hand moved up casually to cover your mouth a bit and Kaeya’s smile grew as he went on. “So, I took it upon myself to look around given your maids told me you were in his study.” Diluc’s expression shifted from displeasure to pure annoyance. You were a bit nervous though wondering if you two had been found out already. You knew the answer in the back of your mind though. “When I couldn’t find you there I saw a maid walk out of the west wing hallway with blush staining her cheeks so, naturally I went that way and much to my surprise there you two were behind the semi closed doors to dear brothers bedroom-“ Diluc snatched the letter from his brother and narrowed his eyes. He stood up and narrowed his eyes at him.
“You finished ?” He asked, short tempered as always, you were a blushing mess on the other hand, with your face covered in attempts to hide your embarrassment. Of all the ways to be found out, it had to be Kaeya happening across you two at the Dawn Winery! Kaeya chuckled lightly and leaned back in the chair.
“Ah-Ah you interrupted me brother, I was just getting to the good part.” You peeked up at him and shook your head Dliuc let out and irritable sigh and turned his back to Kaeya and then looked over at you, a smile on his face one he’d only show to you really.
“I’ll see you later.” You nodded with a warmth to your cheeks as he walked off ignoring Kaeya all together. The three of you knowing Diluc was working tonight with you again. It left you two sitting there in a painful kind of silence where only one of you were inflicted and the other found it jovial.
“He must like you.” Kaeya sighed raising his wine glass to his lips, you glanced over at him with a slight glare and he smiled your way.
“Your point?” You retorted, it lead to him shrugging lightly as he finished the drink. He stood up, preparing to take his leave, moving to place a hand on his hip.
“None really, it’s just he got to you before I could.” Kaeya wouldn’t admit to him being beaten at his own game, he also wouldn’t voice at how it made him proud and happy for his brother at the same time. You looked at him with a straight face and he chortled. “You’ll make each other happy, especially with the sex you’re having. I’m not worried.” He patted your shoulder before he walked off in the opposite direction of his brother. Leaving you there blushing and with the future to think about, one where both you snd Diluc shared.

Now that many of my mutuals have gotten to a scene in FFXIV...
Please note: HEAVY SPOILERS. If you intend or are playing the game, but haven't completed Heavensward, please don't click.
Tumblr media
Aymeric can’t fall asleep due to the pain from his ‘treatment’ in the vault, so he tries to make use of his insomnia by penning a letter of condolences to Count Fortempts. But no matter what he writes, everything sounds so …. shallow. There’s a knock at the door, and to his surprise and alarm its Estinien…. carrying a passed out WoL. Apparently, he found them unconscious in a snow bank outside the Forgotten Knight, and the overwhelming smell of alcohol rules out an injury. Estinien tried to take them to the Fortemps manor, but the WoL INSISTED that they not be taken there. Estinien couldn’t just have them sleep it off in the barracks, so Aymeric's place it is.
Estinien bids him good night and leaves Aymeric at a loss of what to do. Obviously the WoL needs to get warmed up fast, so he wraps them with blankets and places them on a sofa near the fireplace. Then he starts making a nice warm (non alcoholic) drink…. Hot Chocolate. While the milk slowly simmers, he checks up on a beleaguered WoL, who is now sitting up, trying to figure out how they got to the Knight Commander's place. He tells them about Estinien's deed, and says ‘certainly the Fortemps manor would have a bed more comfortable', but the WoL blurts out that they can’t go back, can’t face that family after what they’ve done. And then it dawns on Aymeric that they blame themselves personally for Haurchefant's death. This not a side of the ever cheerful, ever confident WoL, that anyone ever gets to see. Not sure of what to say, he tells them that isn’t their fault, and if anything, HE is to blame, for blindly confronting the arch bishop. ‘Haurchefant wouldn’t want you to feel that way’ the WoL says, and Aymeric responds, ‘the same applies for you.’
The kettle whistles, and Aymeric prepares and brings out the hot chocolate, and gets a reaction that he didn’t expect. The WoL takes on look at the cup and just starts sobbing.
After he manages to calm them down for a bit, (inwardly panicking on how he managed to fuck this up), the WoL explains that back when they were on the run, at their lowest point where they had no where to go, Haurchefant took them in and made hot cocoa for them while cheering them up, and the steaming beverage in their hands just brought back those memories. Aymeric agrees that Haurchefant had a inane ability to raise people’s spirits, and tells a tale when he, Aymeric, and several soldiers were besieged by dragons, Haurchefant put out a rousing speech, and the whole company, including the wounded were able to break out.
Eventually, the WoL drifts off, on his couch, snuggled under a pile of his blankets, but Aymeric still cannot sleep. He still has that letter to write. But at least now, he now knows what to say. Lord Edmont, Your son touched many lives, both great and small, and through his deeds...his legacy shall live on.

Summary: The day when the FBI plans to catch John Dillinger, you finally write a letter full of undisclosed affections to Melvin Purvis, the love of your life.

Author’s Note: Please note, this is all based on the fictionalized version of the character played by Christian Bale. It was a challenging concept but very happy with the outcome. Maybe I’m just “Bumping Gums*” but, hope y’all enjoy!!

“What are you thinking about?”
That familiar, male voice inquired. Cool yet affectionate; lingering in the darkness long enough for a female voice to hum before responding:
“Me? just things…” she began, her voice comprised of a much greater familiarity above all others, “Things I wanna say to you. I…” a chuckle arose, “It’s silly but…” she inhaled deep, “I just want to, write them down…for you”
“What?…like in a letter?”
“Uh huh!”
“Why? I’m right here” Her giggles seasoned his genuine curiousity,“It’s not the same. I…” she inevitably paused, “I’m just shy” as softness smeared over her tone. “Oh…” he decided to follow suite, “…somehow I don’t believe that” with his words exiting in the form of purrs, the two pairs of lips finally met. The kiss, it was chaste. Yet the sound remained crisp. And the shared chuckles that soon followed, were crispier. Audibly vivid at its finest.
Sheer pity, for it merely was a memory. Such a pity, for it vanished the very second your eyes dared to open.

(1934)
A heavy sigh left your lips in disappointment. Arms folded, your right index finger wandered over your silk robe, in detail. It had no other option, especially when your lips could not indulge his own, when your eyes could not indulge the only loving gaze that truly mattered. Thus, there you were, running your fingers over the silk of harsh reality. Nothing to imagine, nothing to relive.
All the while you stood, staring at the door ahead. The door from where he just left.
It was a lazy afternoon, and anxiousness had found its way deep into your bloodstream. Woken nerves, uneasy stomach, the pounding heart with great speed and clarity. Harsh reality had turned to the worse, grabbing you by the shoulders, only to force you to stare deep at it.
Face the facts, it uttered. But which part of you wanted to do so?
Though being the sole occupant in the room, your pounding heartbeat did not fail to drown your very own hearing. This feeling, you despised it, to the core. If only it would stop.
Until it finally did. But only when you spun back around in a split second. For you decided to take action on it instead.
Planting yourself firm on the wooden desk, hands were occupied in the hurried dance as drawers were pulled, and stashes of paper were grabbed and dropped out before you. But once the hands found their way to a beautiful pen inside, all actions reduced pace. Holding it with care, your eyes grew warm by the mere sight. For the pen, it was a symbol of things a many, and one in particular. The one which cost you a heavy sigh, before opening the cap and let the pen make take its course on the paper. And just like that, you finally wrote down two words. Two out of the many your heart ached to speak into existence:
Dear Mel…
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The sigh that followed soon after, was relieving. It was liberating. In truth, even a smile seemed possible. Hence, your intentions were clear.
“Dear Mel…” leaning forward, you read it out with warmth. For you were prepared to permit the ink to reunite with the paper once again, and linger on a little longer:
Looks like I finally found a reason to sit down and write this letter to you. Honestly, I feel like laughing, cause I never thought I’d end up doing this.

Chuckling to oneself, you proceeded to write:
But I know if I don’t do this now, I would regret it. Cause now I finally know you deserve to read every last bit of my thoughts and feelings. All that I have hidden for too long. Before it’s too late.
Seeing you walk out that door wasn’t anything new. But when you did it this afternoon, it felt different. My heart, it felt something. It was heavy! That’s the word. Was I worried? afraid? I don’t know. All I know was that, it was too much. Enough for me to remember your effect on me.
Those words may have been generalized, yet you were astounded by the comfort you sensed when writing them. Inhaling deep, you kept on:
You were not a man I expected to ever meet in my life, Melvin Purvis. Never for one second. Out of all the folks here in Chicago, why would we ever meet? Whatever reason it was, I am very thankful. I am very thankful I opened my door to the hallway that night.
And I am thankful for Mr. Lloyd, and for that man in the navy blue coat.
Your words, they brimmed with sincerity. Looking up from the paper, you couldn’t help but stare into the wall. It was simply inevitable. Especially when every bit of detail began to flow into your consciousness, only to unfold the memory of that fateful night in your mind.

Chick Webb’s “Blues in my Heart*” playing in the radio, certainly did not fail to mirror your heart to perfection. For the melancholia was mutual. And the dim lights illuminating the apartment in the late evening, seemed to have sealed the emotion shut.
Memorable was your deep sigh, along with warm cup of tea that rested on your hands:
“I figured he, of all people would vouch for me, but instead he just…hung up” You remembered uttering, tone enriched with sadness whilst imitating a telephone being disconnected.
“Well…” a gruff voice began, “…if I were your Old man, I would never pull that nonsense”
You looked up, to set your eyes over at your neighbor Wilmer Lloyd, sitting across from you in his pajamas. A spritely gentleman in his late seventies, Lloyd was the friend, who in time became the father figure you wished you had.
Amused by his temper filled response, You chuckled with disbelief:
“Mr. Lloyd, your daughter had to move to another city, cause you didn’t like the fella she wanted to marry” you replied, “No need for the unnecessary kindness” adding with a smile, you proceeded to take a sip of the hot beverage.
“What kindness? she is no good kid like you. She married a goon*! ” Lloyd responded in defense, leaning forward with conviction, “While your Pops is just mad cause you’re trying to be a Secretary”
“I bet you a Lincoln* that my folks rather have me marry a goon, than have me find my own way of living”  you said, gulping down the rest of the tea.
“Don’t jinx it, kid” the old man grunted, his index finger pointed right at you, “I don’t wanna hate you too”
You laughed out loud. Truthfully, you were relieved to have finally did. The room felt too depressing for too long.
“Alright, kid. I’m beat” the old man sighed, pushing himself up to stand with a grunt. “Goodnight, Mr.Lloyd” You stood alongside him. The two parted ways, with you making your way over to the kitchen, and your neighbor making his way out. As if it was so habitual. For a daily chat with old Wilmer Lloyd, was indeed habitual.
Your first proper encounter with Lloyd was a special one. It was only a few months ago that you moved into Chicago. Stressful work shifts and lack of friends led to an eventual emotional breakdown one fine evening. A seemingly noticeable one, which caused the usually moody Lloyd to peep through his door, only to find you bawling your eyes out in the hallway. The sight of you kneeling before your apartment door in tears, was more than enough for his cold heart to melt, and to voice his concern. All while he helped you gather the groceries that had fallen out of your brown paper bag.
“We all gotta start somewhere, kid”
That phrase of comfort, was the invisible handkerchief that wiped your tears that day. And as you rinsed the tea cup, that phrase managed to return to your consciousness, being an invisible hand to pat you on the shoulder. Closing the tap, you sighed with relief. For you were once again thankful for the good in humanity.
Until the sound of a gunshot attacked your ears.
Clinging on to the sink with a jump, you felt your heart beat out loud, and there was no stopping. Before any was comprehended, a loud groan soon followed, originating from the Hallway. Your eyes widened. Could it be?
“Mr.Lloyd…” you breathed, as your legs finally made you dash towards the door to open. You gasped out loud, the moment you found Wilmer Lloyd sprawled on the floor, shot.
“Oh my god!…” you whispered, kneeling beside him.
But Lloyd lost your attention for a slight second, for you caught the sight of a man disappearing into the right-side stairwell. The sight was quick and blurry, yet it was evident he was armed. And one particular color was prominent as he left.
The groan repeated, forcing you to focus on Lloyd once again. Which was most important.
“A-are you alright?” A meek inquiry was all that you could do.
“WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE, KID?” The old man answered in pain, shifting. Slight relief washed over you, when you noticed he was only shot in the arm. Perhaps it was your heartbeat, or a new set of pounding footsteps nearby. Either way, the sounds grew louder from the left.
“Freeze! Chicago Police-” A voice, a male voice cried out, only to pause, causing you to look over, only to freeze.
Lowering his pistol, a well dressed man stood, surrounded by two others. All in suits and fedoras, and all seemingly alarmed by the sight of you and Lloyd.
“Is he alright, Ma’am?” The first man inquired. “I’m fine. Jesus!” Lloyd responded with annoyance. The man nodded with acknowledgement. Although there was slight embarrassment in the his face, you were simply too distracted by the cool nature of his voice.
“I know this is the wrong time but…” the man uttered, “…but did you see-”
“The shooter? ” you began all the sudden, “…in a navy blue coat? He went that way” pointing towards the right, you added. The muscles of the man’s tensed face relieved.
“Thank you, ma’am…” he breathed, before making a dash, “Boys! Take this man to the hospital” his commanding voice trailed behind him, indicating Lloyd. All before he himself disappeared into the stairwell.
And to your luck, the two able bodied youngsters knelt over the old man to do the needful. “The bullet is still inside. He’s gonna be alright, ma’am”
“Thank god! You heard him, Mr.Lloyd” you said, “Let’s go”
“Eh…” Lloyd muttered, holding the wound whilst being carried, “Not that I’m overjoyed about getting shot, but I gotta say I’m more than happy to know I’m not gonna die tonight” he grunted. To which you finally smiled behind him:
“Not in a million years…”

The sound of loud sirens shattered your trail of reminiscence. Sirens, you gasped. For they suddenly brought you worry. Was he in trouble already?
Parting from the pen and paper, your hands pushed you to rise and scurry towards the window. Except you merely saw a youngster getting his ear pulled by an angry policeman, for fiddling with the police car siren.
You clutched your chest, sighing with relief to see. The fact that daylight yet reigned supreme was also sufficient evidence for you to rationalize your new-found relief. He was safe, wherever he was.
Returning to the desk, you picked up the pen. Glancing at it with affection, you proceeded to write once more:
Because of the accident that night, I found myself meeting a man who fascinated me instantly. So , you could understand how frustrated I was when I couldn’t even thank him.
You smirked upon those words. Not soon before you continued writing:
But then again, who knew I would have the actual luck to see him again two days later? At a place where I least expected. All thanks to a Bad Customer.
Akin to a Moving Picture, or a Talkie*, that very moment began to project into your memory. All the while your index finger managed to twirl a piece of your hair with nostalgia.

“Apparently it was just some low level goon. Well, at least that’s what the Police told Mr.Lloyd…when they took his statement. But I don’t buy it, no. Why would those Federal Agents be there if it was?…”
You said, tying up the white, cotton waist apron over your baby blue waitress uniform.
“Goodness! I really wouldn’t know what I would have done if I were you, Sweetpea” Cathy, your best friend replied while she followed suite.
Once the hair was fixed, the two of you headed to the kitchen, “Everyone! Look who’s changed her shift!” Cathy cried out, urging the other employees at the Diner to focus on you. There were cheers, bringing out the brightest smile in you. It was official.
Living with the Great Depression which has affected all, you were grateful even for the employment at a Diner in the city. A temp job, as you called it yourself. Until that very morning, you were assigned to the later shift and spent several weeks parted from Cathy. Fortunately, upon your boss’ satisfaction, you were finally offered the shift you always wished for: The morning shift.
You graciously used the first hour that morning for familiarization, which mainly included the customers. And that was indeed the part that fascinated you. For the customers were diverse with each shift. And the mornings were mostly welcomed by blue collar workers.
“Cathy! They’re waiting for the pancakes”
“Oh! Shoot! I’m on it”
Listening to Cathy’s response in the background, you shook your head with amusement. You watched your friend waltz over to the eagerly waiting booth. But only before you made your way to the corner of the Diner counter.
“Can I help you, Sir?” A well rehearsed phrase exited your painted lips with politeness. A young man was the current owner to the corner seat. “A refill” the blonde haired drawled, indicating his empty, white mug on the counter. “Right away” “Thanks, Sweetheart” he replied, whilst the sound of the black coffee being poured, filled your ears. A group of eyes watched you from another corner. It was certain. And sure enough, your stealthy eyes caught the sight of some men sat across the diner. All sniggering. “Ya know…” the Blondie continued as he leaned forward, “my boys over there…” he indicated the suspicious group, “…they don’t believe me but, I think you’re one fine girl, sweeter than sugar” he said, flashing a flirtatious smile. “Oh, really?” You inquired with a polite chuckle. “Cross my heart, I hope to die” He was handsome, yes. But he was the handsome you never wanted. The type of handsome that could also break your heart. Besides, his attempt of seduction was misdirected, “So…um…” leaning closer, he began to whisper, “Care to help me prove the boys wrong? Like with a date? Or even a kiss? ” He inquired, his suggestive eyebrows being quite evident.
Oh, that fool, you thought. If you were at liberty to throw your head back in laughter, you would without any hesitation. Yet, it would not be appropriate.
“Ah! I’m sorry Sir, but I’m working” you replied.
“Aww come on!” He groaned, to which you shook your head and took a step back.
“Sorry Sir-Ah!” Except he grabbed you tight by the wrist. And displeasure was the mask he wore.
“Hey now, is that the way you treat your regulars here?” He inquired, increasing volume. Confused and very violated, your heart rate began to speed up. You sensed a threat.
“Let go, Sir!” You muttered in desperate politeness. Yet he did not.
“Why?” He sniggered, amidst your struggle to break free, “Whatcha gonna do, sugar?”
“I believe the lady asked you to let go”
That voice. A voice you could identify. A voice that forced you and Blondie to turn heads. Your eyes widened. Dressed smart and completed with his Fedora, the FBI agent from two nights ago stood before you both. Authoritative yet graceful, he sighed:   “Pardon me for intruding, but I know a Regular won’t harass a waitress this way” he said in a casual tone, to which Blondie stood up:
“Yeah?” He snarled, offended, “How would YOU know about being Regulars, smart ass?” “Cause I am one” The Agent answered, before missing Blondie’s surprise punch, only to twist his arm within seconds.
Cries of pain erupted from the young man’s lips, until he was pulled close by the agent. You watched him whisper some words to Blondie’s ear, all before he finally released him. Confidence was nowhere nearby when the blonde man stashed some cash onto the counter, and stumbled towards his group of boys with fear.
You suddenly heard Cathy’s sigh of relief nearby:
“Oh, Thank god you’re here, Mr.Purvis” She said to the Agent, “You just saved my friend” she motioned towards you.
Finally you had the liberty to observe him. Tall and lean with sharp facial features, he possessed the handsome that comforted you. The handsome that formed potential in you. The handsome that attracted you. Sitting on the now empty seat, he flashed you a cool smile: “Melvin Purvis” he said, “I believe we haven’t had the pleasure…” It seemed he did remember you. You smiled back. “No, we haven’t…” you replied with softness, as you held up the pot, “Coffee?”

And who knew the man that fascinated me, would be you?
I am not ashamed to say, I was over the moon to see you again, Mel. Seeing you for only a few seconds in the hallway, clearly wasn’t enough for me. I was greedy. So greedy I was afraid to admit. But the moment I realized that corner seat in the counter was your usual spot, I knew my greed was not in vain. I was greedy, to get to know someone so badly. So, when you saved me from Blondie, you also saved yourself a spot in my heart. I just didn’t know it at that moment.
But I do remember when I finally did.
When one serves a regular customer long enough, certain facts become known. Be it their usual breakfast order, their favorite beverage, or the guilty pleasure one indulges once in a while. But apart from that, conversation comes into play as well.
I don’t think you knew how happy you made me every time we talked, even while you had your Eggs and Toast. Whatever it was, I enjoyed them all. All topics, from about the mouthy janitor, to the famous FBI cases, which were solved or ongoing. But I was also happy when you also had the time for me, to know about my crazy stories about customers in the late shift, or even just about myself. Which surprised me the most.
You finally became aware of the smile you wore throughout writing. Though you managed to relax your facial muscles, the smile remained at default. Thus, you kept on with your words:
Mel, you made me look forward to work everyday. And that was one huge favor. Waitressing was never this girl’s dream. Another job was. And you know what.
“I know…” you remember saying, as you wiped the Diner counter, “Secretary, A Nice Office…Even my own folks think it’s a silly dream for a girl like me-”
“That doesn’t mean its your truth” Mel, your calm, unfazed reply, those words shook me. You were right. You made me feel braver. You made me want to work harder. You made me feel like anything was possible. And that was when, I finally saw that special spot you had in my heart. Oh Mel, it felt like an earthquake in here. I was affected. I couldn’t even sleep that night. Cause that spot of yours made me realize, I had fallen for you. Fallen in love with you.
Placing your left palm over your chest, it did not take you long to relive that magical feeling whilst you wrote:
Suddenly, I couldn’t look you in the eye anymore. And I’m sorry for that. I may have looked busy with customers for some days, but that was me struggling. I was at a war with myself. A constant battle with my eyes to not care for you more, a battle with my lips to not tell you, how much I pined for you.
But as you remember, I finally did.
And the morning when you did, felt to be a landmark of your bravery.
Upon serving his breakfast, you retreated to the kitchen with haste. The fact you did not even acknowledge Melvin’s usual “Thank you” proved strangeness. Generally, when employees were seen standing at the back entrance of the Diner, one would expect them to be occupied with a personal matter, or even have a smoke break. Except, you simply longed for a break from him.
Seeing Purvis was torture. And that morning felt more torturous than ever. Your desire for him multiplied with every single visit.
Rubbing your forearms to fight off the spring chill, You took a deep breath. What was that you feared? Confessing your feelings? Or the mere possibility of being refused?
“What are you doing? Out here in the cold?” You gasped, looking up to find Melvin standing before you.
“I-” you paused, as Melvin took off his long coat, and slung it over your shoulder with no hesitation. A warmth protected you all the sudden. Was it the coat? Or was it him?
“Are you unwell?” He inquired. You shook your head, not taking too long to finally settle your eyes on his. And there it was: the speeding pulse, the torture, the multiplication of desire. Eyes growing wider with concern upon your speechless look, Melvin shot glances at both directions with stealth: “Is anyone bothering y-”
Only to be intruded by your lips pressed against his.
Oh, Mel! What did you do to me?
With a deep shudder, you kept writing: Why did your lips taste like the sweetest pie in all the world? I’m sorry if my ink turns messy here. It’s just that thinking about it, I just hope my heart won’t burst and bleed. Tasting that sweetness, I was ready to risk it all. Ready to accept the worst fear to come true.
You had a fair point. Especially when his lips remained unmoved throughout your kiss. Which forced you to move back quick, and blush with embarrassment: “I-I’m sorry…” you blurted, struggling with one’s movements as you handed over his coat back and turned to leave.
“No! please…” Melvin breathed, stopping you with his hand on your shoulder, “I’m sorry…” he stressed, “I suppose I was just caught by surprise” with a chuckle soon after. “Believe me, it wasn’t planned” you chuckled alongside him, relaxing a little. “Although I was hoping…” he began, “If I could take you to dinner one night…” Your eyes widened, but your heart bloomed.
But life was kind enough to gift me a date instead. A date with the best man I know.
“Yes! You can…” you answered immediately, “And please…no need to call me Ma’am anymore, Mr. Purvis” you smiled. To which he smiled back with a hint of mischief, which seemed surprising for the 30 year old Agent:
“Then, there’s no need to call me Mr. Purvis anymore either”
A date that I had always dreamt about. Not with a boy, but with a real gentleman. It had come true. Were you reading my thoughts this entire time?
Bashful giggles erupted from your lips upon writing. It was a date to remember :The fancy restaurant, the fine dining, the stimulating conversation basked in soft jazz and candlelight. Watching and taking in every fine line that adorned his beautiful, statuesque face brought you pride.
Sitting with you, getting lost in our own world, it was no doubt that I was the luckiest woman in the entire restaurant that night.
“I had a wonderful time, Mel. Thank you” Your words were enveloped with warmth and sincerity.
It was late, and Melvin had brought you back home like the gentleman he was. Opening the car door for you, he surprised you with just a smile, no other reply. Which forced you to raise your eyebrows, evidently confused. Could it be that he did not share the exact sentiments as you? Were you not the woman he hoped for by the end of the night? Insecurity began to bubble up within.
“What?” You inquired with a nervous chuckle, “All night you were yapping away, but now suddenly cat got your tongu-”
He gently pushed you against the car. Just so his gracious hands could cup your face, and just so he could plant his lips on yours.
And I was also the luckiest woman in the neighborhood, when you finally kissed me right back.
Sweetness infused with softness, you needed not permission to be fueled with greed at last. For greed finally permitted you to wrap one’s arms around his neck, only to pull him closer. Those lips of his, they had tempted you from the very first moment. And when they finally voluntarily expressed their affection, you were more than ecstatic.
Mel, your kisses were magic. They made me wish if I had all the power in the world to slow down time.
And I felt the very same, when we finally made love that night.
That night, that mere memory. You would be lying if it did not manage to send chills down your spine.
Invitation for a nightcap was your only shameless excuse. For not a single cell of your being, wanted him to leave your sight. Not when he had lit up a flame of desire in you, a few minutes prior. You silently cursed all the passerby’s who forced you both to pull away from the kisses. The kisses that he started by the car. But what could you do? You were surrendered to the laws of love.
Thus, the mere act of turning on the Crosley* Radio, became an involuntary act of seduction. Rudy Vallee’s “If I had a Girl like You*” filtering out from the speakers, gave life to the entire apartment. And it did ever the same to you, tempting you to sway your body from side to side. But your body felt so much vigor, when Melvin gave up on patience, only to hold you by the waist, spin you around just so his hungry lips could taste yours once again.
Melvin kissed you, and you kissed him. Slow, articulate, these lips were making up for every day they did not touch one another. All those days full of remorse.
Thus, began a dance between the two lovers. Heated, passionate. A dance consisting of choreography that had existed within all of mankind. Did not matter if it was carrying you bridal style to the bed, or placing you on to the bed without a sound much louder than a mattress squeak, either way, Melvin’s presence exuded safety.
Pleasure and excitement were in a fiery alliance when you savored shedding every piece of clothing off his torso. Never once did you think seeing many layers would bring you so much arousal. Especially when his eyes had nowhere else to look but at you during. His eyes, they burned with desire. And you would be unfaithful to your honesty if you denied the loins that burned within you as a result. For it was evident how much you longed for him. How the hunger led you to provide him the attention he truly deserved with your touch and kisses.
Dressed, he was smart, authoritative. Undressed, he was god-like. And to hear his soft moans amidst your attention was a gift. A gift that aroused you further. Yet before your eager hands could fondle his hardened shaft, he flipped you with impatience to focus on you instead. His kisses were other-worldly, making sweet contact on your soft, naked skin, creating waves of untold pleasure whenever he peeled off each piece of lingerie. Naked you may have been finally, yet you were more than ecstatic with the new outfit you wore: him. The infusion of soft music, sounds of lovers moans and kisses while the bedsheets rustled, were indeed sweeter than nectar. Tantalizing enough for him to finally enter you. Arousing enough for you to accept him. Resulting in unity, love making, deeming soft as the moonlight that shone into the bedroom. Soft, yet impactful that every second remained carved in your mind fresh, like it was yesterday.
Oh Mel, how did your touch made me weak, but gave me power at the same time? How did you make every second of it worthwhile?
You wrote with a sigh, blushes occupying your cheeks. Not before you cleaned up your ink stained fingers, caused by your thoughts of pure distraction.
Why did you get me addicted to your loving? But most importantly, why were you the perfection I dreamt of all along?
Breathless, you would be lying if it did not take you a while to regain your senses. Re-reading the previous sentence written, you proceeded to give the letter further life:

After that night, I wanted shout out loud from the rooftops full of happiness, I wanted to tell the entire city, no! The entire world of my blessing: My blessing to have a wonderful man like you, Mel.
The simple truth: that was all that it was. And not long since you and Melvin had gotten together, life was suddenly drizzled with an extra dose of joy. An extra dose of encouragement and hope. Work went better for the both of you. Even Mr. Lloyd managed to re-meet him, but this time with more familiarity and respect. Given his interaction with the Agent, it was evident the the older man had offered his blessing and approval, which meant more to you than anything.
Since then my life was bliss, Mel. With you by my side, I knew I could take on anything.
Except, you drew in a sharp breath with a heavy heart.
All until J Edgar Hoover declared those fateful words to America: War on Crime. John Dillinger.
The heaviest sigh left your pursed lips. For a surge of concern was powerful enough to consume you.
Believe me, Mel. Seeing you get promoted to Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Field Office, it brought me nothing but joy. Seeing you in the papers, I was the most proud anywhere I went. But with that pride, and with that joy, I was also afraid. How could I not be, when you were assigned to catch Dillinger, Public Enemy No. 1?
How could I not think of the risk you had on your life? So afraid for you that it didn’t strike with me that we didn’t see each other for so long after.
Though you were out of sighs, your heart remained heavy with the thought. It was true, soon after his men’s lives were affected by Dillinger and his gang, Melvin did not set foot in your apartment nor in your neighborhood. And surprisingly, you did not feel betrayed. Not one bit.
When you phoned me that one time, I could tell in your voice. I could tell the weight you had on your shoulders. The burden, the responsibility, the guilt.
And to me, it didn’t matter I couldn’t see you everyday anymore. It didn’t matter that I had a hard time missing you or thinking about you. Be it at the diner, the streets, the park, the living room and the bedroom. It didn’t matter to me that I had to pretend my life had nothing to do with yours. All I wanted was for this nightmare to end: to stop the unnecessary deaths of innocent lives. All I wanted was for you to be safe. And I knew you could do it all. Without complicating things.
Thus, when someone knocked on your door a few hours ago today, your fear was justified. You remembered standing by the door, arms folded, only to feel your heart beat out of your chest. And when those loud, rapid knocks attacked the wooden door, you could not help but wonder: Could it possibly be one of Dillinger’s men? Another shooter perhaps? Were they aware of Melvin’s connection with you? Were you about to be leverage?
But to your surprise, you opened the door regardless. Clutching your chest, you could only gasp.
But I never thought you’d suddenly come crashing in this afternoon.
For there stood Melvin Purvis, Fedora at hand, heavy panting accompanied.
Never so soon.
“You were not at the Diner” he said in a hoarse tone, still panting. “I-I took a day off” you answered, with wide eyes,“Mel…” you gulped, taking a step forward “What’s wron-” To which he could only reply with rough kisses, slamming the door shut behind him.
And being in his arms again after possibly endless days and nights, you were certain you did not wish to be anywhere else.
It was as if fate urged me to stay home today, just so I wouldn’t miss your hungry kisses. Just so I wouldn’t miss your love. Something I craved for what felt like forever.
Longing translated into desperate kisses, where tongues wrestled in haste. And passionate lovemaking rushed in soon after. The type of passionate, that demanded every item of clothing make quick stops in different parts of the apartment, only to lead a trail to the bed. The type of passionate, that had his eager hands wander over your naked back, before palming your heaving breasts with impatience. All the while you straddled him, with your hips rolling against his. The type of passionate, that tempted you to gaze into his  shining eyes. For they spoke to you, even in silence. How he treasured you, how he savored you, his eyes said it all. And with your responding kiss brimming with moans and emotion, you acknowledged his silent confession, you satisfied his hunger, and accepted his peak of pleasure. All until a new climax was reached together, before collapsing on to the bed with exhaustion.
“Mel…” you panted, sweat further infusing with his, “You still didn’t tell me what’s going on…”
It was only a few minutes later, did Melvin began to speak. Only then were you able to find out about the mission that would happen tonight. The mission to finally catch Dillinger. And as if the floodgates just opened, he kept talking. And all you could do was nod, as he continued to cradle you in his arms.
Little did I know, you came to me in possibly the most fateful day ever.
“You think it will work? The plan?” You inquired, soft. His responsive hum vibrated in his chest. “The source is solid…” he replied, “So…we’re betting on it”
Lifting your head up, you looked at him. Truthfully you could not help but feel sorry. There was a hint of exhaustion in his tone. How far did this man go to make this mission a reality? How many men were sacrificed in the process? Death of many men including Carter Baum, his own partner. Feeling useless, you knew you could only offer him a reassuring soft smile:
“Then it will…” you murmured, placing a chaste kiss on his forehead. His skin seemed magnetic to your lips, causing you to proceed with more kisses. Over his eyebrows, bridge of his nose, and finally his lips, the best place of all. With another greedy peck, you pulled yourself away and sat up. With the afternoon breeze playfully caressing your exposed frame, you were tempted to reach out and grab your silk robe tossed on the edge of the bed, which you did.
“I hope you know I couldn’t risk seeing you, with Dillinger’s men on the loose”
Melvin began. Looking back, you nodded with nonchalance. “Of course…” Wrapping the robe around, your answer was as casual as taking a diner order, “I understand” you added meek, looking down at the knot.
“But…that doesn’t mean I was never here”
You froze. With wide eyes, you looked up at his sitting frame. “What do you mean?” You blurted. Only to gasp, “You-w-were you-?”
Melvin nodded,  “Every night around bedtime, from the street…looking at THAT window…”  he said, indicating the very window in your bedroom. If only you could just tell him how your heart just began to melt after possibly weeks. If only you were capable of an embrace that told every fiber of his being how moved you were by him. Melvin sighed, running his fingers through his hair:
“I just had to make sure you were safe…” he said, “But today, I…” he paused, “I couldn’t stay away”
“And neither should you…” you replied in an instant, cupping his face, “….you’re only human”  you continued with a sigh, “It’s been too long, Mel” your voice grew softer, “ And I missed you” uttering weakly, you proceeded to press your forehead against his. And like that, you both stayed, indulging in the silence with the most innocent physical contact possible.
“This mission…” Melvin began, his warm breath falling on your face, “If I make it out alive-” “Mel, you WILL make it out aliv-” you breathed, before he placed his fingers over your lips.
“If I make it…I’m yours”
He whispered, forcing you to freeze once again. Overwhelming emotion seemed to have frozen you with disbelief, when his sharp features unveiled the softest smile, “As a man, I want to do what’s right for the people” he said, holding your chin, “ I want do what’s right for my heart. And I wanna do it all with you, by my side, always”
And in the blink of an eye, you left through that door, hours before our lives could possibly change forever.
No wonder you made love to me, as if it was your last.
Sniffing, you placed a loving kiss on the pen. For it was the pen Melvin once gifted you with. The pen he hoped you would use when you finally become a secretary. And it did not take long for you to wipe the tears that streamed down your cheeks in silence. What will happen tonight, at the Biograph Theater will end in either two ways. And all you could do was to pray for one in particular. Pray for the one you desperately needed. With another final sniff, you continued to write, until you found yourself finally finishing off the letter you never imagined yourself writing. You wrote your heart out, which left you no regrets:
Before I end this letter, I want to ask you a question.
Do you remember when I was helping you put your tie back on, minutes before you left?
When I did, I felt something. Something warm, something nice. And I won’t lie, I enjoyed it. Cause in the end, it gave me the feeling you always gave me from the moment I met you: Hope. But today, that hope was also protected by a layer of love. A strong layer. To be able to put your tie on possibly every day, would be an honor I’d wear like a badge for life.
Mel, you WILL make it out alive. You and your men, you WILL get it done. Because this letter will be waiting for you. Because I will be waiting for you.
Ready to have more hope, ready to do more good, ready to live our truth, by your side, always.
With love,
Yours forever…

BNHA x Fem! Reader: The Rescue- Purple Ragdoll
The rescue intro: here
A/N:
Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone is staying safe and had a good New Years Eve. Thank you all for your support, I'm really happy to be writing for you. I apologize for the lateness of this chapter, but I hope you all enjoy!
~*~*~*~*~*
Inko led you back into the main store and past rows of all sorts of tanks. She paused and tucked Izuku into one of them before she continued along, stopping in front of a door with cute little pawprints running up the side. At the top of the door, the word CATS was in big bold letters. She opened the door and ushered you inside, carefully closing the door behind you.
You took in the chaos of the cat room, eyes following Inko as she expertly dodged cats and weaved through various cat toys on her way to a cat tree in the back. The room was filled with cats of all shapes and sizes.  You decided it would be best if you stayed put. The last thing you needed was to accidentally step on one of the cute animals. That would be a rather unfortunate end to your budding experience as a pet owner. When Inko saw that you were standing alone, she made a tutting noise and went back, grabbing your arm before leading you over to the quiet corner she had scouted earlier.
You followed her curiously, trying not to trip on the felines winding around your legs, which was an intense feat as they seemed to really like you for some reason. You came to a stop in front of one of those hanging cat hammock things. Inside, was a fluffy cat with strangely lilac tinted fur that was ruffled and sticking out at all angles. You searched your limited knowledge about animals before settling on the breed. The cat before you was the sleepiest looking ragdoll cat you had ever seen. The fur under his eyes was darker than the fur around it, giving it the illusion of deep purple eye bags. He looked kind of run down if you were honest as if no amount of naps in the world could make him energetic. He was definitely not what you expected. He reminded you of Grumpy cat but exhausted.
Inko smiled warmly at you while clasping her hands to her chest, watching your reaction closely.
“This is Shinsou! I think he’d be the perfect cat for you.”
Like the black cat from earlier, there was something really intelligent about Shinsou. Either that or the look of confusion he shot Inko was purely coincidental and you were misreading things. Regardless, there was something about him that you gravitated towards.
“You’re sure? He wouldn’t be happier with someone more experienced?” Inko just shook her head and lifted the drowsy cat out of his hammock. He wasn’t too concerned and had accepted his fate at this point in time, not really having the energy to protest anyway. She carefully deposited the cat into your arms and bustled off to gather supplies for you. You looked down at the bundle of fluff in your arms and he, in turn, stared up at you with a bored expression.
Shinsou was vaguely interested in how this would go.  Considering he was not a normal cat by any means, it should prove to be an interesting experience. If all else failed, he was intelligent enough to escape and come back to the store, he mused. But for now, you hadn’t done anything that indicated you were going to be difficult to work with and Inko seemed to approve of you, so he just yawned and settled into your arms, enjoying the change from the flannel hammock to your warm arms.  You were kind of freaked out by the newness of the situation, but Shinsou didn’t seem to care what was going on, and his nonchalant attitude put you more at ease.
While you waited, you began to pet him. A smile tugged on your lips as he basically melted in your arms, face pressed against your collarbone and a contented purr escaping his chest. He was obviously enjoying your soothing touch, more than he wanted to admit to himself even. That was encouraging, and you decided then and there you would die for this animal should the need ever arise.
When inko returned with a cat carrier, you were a bit hesitant to put him inside. You were bonding! As reluctant as you were, the carrier was probably your safest and easiest method of getting him home. You laid him inside on the cat bed and he was out like a light within minutes. He was peacefully sleeping as you latched the carrier shut and listened to the instructions Inko gave you. You were determined to be the best pet owner possible for him.
It wasn’t long before you left the shop, new pet in hand and a strange new warmth settling in your chest at the thought of sharing your home with your sleepy new companion. ~~~~~
You sighed tiredly as you closed the door behind you, happy to be out of the biting cold. You had let Shinsou sleep in his carrier on the way over, so you just popped the door open once you were inside so he could explore when he was ready. You gave his sleeping form a small smile before you retreated to your bedroom for the night.
He was still sleeping when you woke up around 8 the next morning, so you let him be and began your morning routine. You hummed to yourself as you waited for your coffee to brew and scrolled through social media on your phone.
Shinsou roused at the rich scent of coffee filled the air. As a human, he swore it almost ran through his veins. He took after his mentor in his love for coffee, the bitter beverage giving him the energy his training and hero work often stole. Inko always had tea instead when she worked at the pet store, so the familiar scent was quite a shock to his system. He stretched lazily before ambling out of the pet carrier. His purple eyes locked on the mug you held as you made your way to the couch.
You smiled brightly at him as you sat down, not noticing where his intent gaze was directed.
“Hey pretty boy, sleep well?”
He turned his gaze to you, almost disgusted by the fact that you were so awake and perky already. Usually, it took him at least half an hour to fully wake up, so your sunshine smile was absolutely unfair considering how early it was. He gave you a deadpan stare in response that triggered an even wider smile. Good grief.
He hopped up onto the couch beside you, waiting for an opportunity to steal your beverage.
He didn’t have to wait long though, you had just taken a sip before your phone rang. You looked down at the contact name and your expression twisted into one of weary acceptance. You hit the answer button and stood, coffee abandoned as you paced and listened to the voice on the other end of the phone.
Shinsou would smirk to himself if cats could. He made a beeline for the cup and quickly drank his fill. Meanwhile, you were not having nearly as good of a time.
“Sir, please, it’s my first day off in weeks. Are you positive no one else can cover the shift?”
“I wouldn’t be calling you if I didn’t already know, (y/n). Are you going to show, or not? Need I remind you that you’re on thin ice with your attendance?”
You bit your lip, the tiredness settling into your expression before you took a deep breath and forced your customer service smile.
“Yes sir, I’ll see you in an hour and a half”
“Good. Don’t be late.”
You heard the line go dead on the other side and nearly screamed, hands clenching against the phone as you resisted the urge to throw your device. The job was infuriating, but it was steady and dependable. You didn’t have a quirk, so finding work was a bit of a process, and you couldn't afford to be choosy at the moment. You lamented this fact as you sunk onto the couch beside him, any energy the coffee had given was now sapped away.
Shinsou had only caught bits and pieces of the conversation, but he already knew he didn’t care for your boss. He had only known you for a day, but he didn’t like how quickly that sunshine smile disappeared as if covered by stormy clouds. It was disconcerting. He watched your expressions go through the stages of grief before settling on tired acceptance.
You sighed heavily and scratched the top of his head.
“Sorry, buddy. I wanted to spend the day getting to know you, but the big boss says I have to get to work.”
You pouted unhappily before stretching. You hated your job, but you weren’t going to spend time feeling bad for yourself. You had to be strong, this job was what enabled you to have Shinsou too, so at least something good came of it. You scratched behind Shinsou's ears before standing and plastering on a fake smile.
"well, no time to waste if I want to get to work on time. I'll be back before you know it. Try not to wreck the house while I'm gone."
He watched you leave and go to your room to prepare for work. He took this time left alone to look around. The living room was fairly plain but comfortable enough. There weren't any photos or personal touches up on the wall. He wandered the living room, mapping it out in his head and taking careful note of any possible escape routes. By the time he had explored all the open rooms, you had found your way back into the main room. You were holding a few bobby pins in your teeth as you fixed your hair into a high ponytail.
Your uniform was typical of a barista and he could just make out the logo of a local cafe on the corner. Huh. Juniper Glow. He actually recognized the cafe. He frequented the place when he was still human. It was open 24/7 so it was a lifesaver after long patrols. He couldn't remember ever meeting you, but it had been quite some time since he had visited. Maybe you were new?
You grabbed the essentials needed for your job, grimacing as you caught sight of the clock. You crouched down and scratched under Shinsou's chin before you shouldered your purse again.
"Alright Shinsou, I'm heading out. Be good for me, okay? Don't trash the house.  I'll see you in a few hours."
Shinsou stopped himself from nodding, knowing it would only freak you out, and stared at you with a tilted head as if to ask "cause trouble, who, me?"
You gave him one last dazzling smile before dashing out the door.
Shinsou watched the door close and was surprised to find himself a bit disheartened with the quiet now encompassing the house. He supposed he was used to the noise now. From the crowded cat room to the way you spoke to him like a person, he wasn't used to the silence anymore. He wondered how much other things would change as he stayed with you.
~~~~~~
Some things never changed. Despite having no hero work or classes, Shinsou was still tired all the time. You found his tiredness endearing and took every opportunity to cuddle him while he napped.
The first time this happened, he was surprised. He was peacefully napping on the couch while you were occupied with a hero documentary. He was content to snooze next to you when a sudden movement changed his position. You had carefully scooped him up and he was now resting in your lap. He would have moved, but honestly? You were comfortable and warm. Not to mention you were petting him too. The soft strokes and your fingers carding through his fur relaxed him. He melted into your touch and was surprised when he started to purr at the attention. You smiled, your documentary no longer the center of your attention.
He wouldn't admit it, but he was quite enjoying your attention. At first, he thought this whole pet thing was going to be a fun challenge to exploit and then escape. However, he was growing attached to you. That might end up a problem. He was going to be human again, one day. He would make sure of it. And he couldn't let you get too used to him.
Still... this was nice. He liked being held and cared about, even though he was used to being and working alone. He was ostracized for having a villain's quirk, so he was definitely not used to people spending so much time with him. Midoriya and his mentor were his support system, but this was somehow different. He would have to think about this more... But for now, he would enjoy these moments with you.
Fortunately for him, these moments became quite frequent. You loved having Shinsou with you and nearly every moment spent at home was spent with your cat. You talked to him as you cooked, you watched TV with him on your lap, you even let him sit on your bed while you read before heading to bed.
This routine continued for months and you admitted for the first time since you moved to Japan, that you were happy. ~~~~~~~~
You opened the door for Shinsou. The sun shone brightly on the two of you as you waited. Shinsou trotted out and joined you on the porch before you closed the door, being mindful of his tail.
The two of you set off at a leisurely pace. You had decided to take Shinsou with you on your trip to the local farmer’s market. You wanted to get some produce for a fruit dessert you wanted to try and also stop by the bakery that was nearby. You smiled down at Shinsou as he plodded along by your side. He was such a clever cat and you found him fascinating. The few times he had gotten out, he merely followed you to work before going home. Unbeknownst to you, this was his way of making sure you stayed safe. While he couldn't fully protect you in this form, he would do his absolute best to protect you should trouble to arise.  When you took him out on purpose for the first time, he stayed dutifully by your side.  This lead to many walks when the weather was pleasant.
He was secretly pleased now that you trusted him to stay with you as you go places. This also meant he could spend more time with you. Although, he wished he was human for these walks. He had been with you for four months now, and he knew you quite well. He enjoyed his time with you and that simple companionship he shared while living with you had grown to be more than fondness on his end. He started to care for you more than he thought he would. He became more worried about your safety, upset on your behalf whenever your boss inevitably called you in on your few days off. He did his best to remind you of your own health, making sure you went to bed at a semi-decent hour. He cared about you, really cared about you. And it was moments like these he couldn't deny it anymore. He looked up at you as the two of you walked.
He wanted to know what it was like to hold your hand, fingers entwining as you babbled cheerfully about your day, him content to listen to your sweet voice. He wanted to compliment you on the sundress you chose to wear for your trip to the market, he wanted to tease you about how excited you were getting for fruit. But that didn’t seem to be a possibility, so he had to content himself with these small outings and the fact he could still be with you as a friend.
You were chatting about all the delicious things you were going to buy, looking back over at him with a bright sunshine smile that he hadn't expected to adore as much as he did.
"Ooh! And don't think I'm leaving you out, there are a bunch of fruits cats are allowed to eat! I can't just treat myself and leave my best boy hungry!"
He would have smiled, but instead settled on a rumbling meow, purr sneaking into the noise.  Warmth filled his chest as you turned back to face ahead. He walked with you for a while more, the warm feeling of the affection fading but also growing more intense but in a new way.
Shinsou blinked in confusion as a strange sensation started to take over, the warmth shifting, contorting into something different. His head was swimming and his entire body was starting to tingle. He almost tripped over his own paws as he made his way to an alleyway, not wanting you to see him this disoriented. His gaze swimming in front of him. He stumbled into the alleyway, his body felt like it was on fire. Fire spread through his nervous system as his body gave up fighting and the bubbling feeling spreading through his veins surged through him. All at once, there was a pop sound and the feeling disappeared, leaving Shinsou panting on the cold concrete of the alley. He opened his eyes and was quickly struck by the difference in sensations he was feeling as well as the heightened colors. He groaned and threw his arm over his eyes before realizing the change in limbs. He quickly sat up and realized with awe that he was human again. Naked, but human. A grin spread across his face and he wobbled to his feet, getting used to being tall again. He took a few minutes to reorient himself.
He heard your voice calling his name and butterflies took flight in his stomach. You sounded worried and upset, voice frantic as you repeated his name. You were looking for him. Cat him. Well, that was a problem. He looked around for a hiding place and was relieved to spot a fairly out of sight around a corner.
As much as he would love to go out there and sweep you off your feet in his true form, he knew that would be absolutely terrifying and the worst way he could go about this. He peeked out from behind the corner, watching your worried form as you carefully searched the alleyway. He ducked back behind the wall before you saw him and his eyes landed on a convenient clothesline. Huh. How convenient. He’d have to think about the uncanny timing later because he heard male voices floating down the alleyway. He grabbed the clothes and threw them on, making a mental note to compensate the original owner when he gets the chance.
Meanwhile, you were looking between two men in front of you. They had followed you into the alley, insisting they were worthy of your attention and could help you find your cat. However, they didn’t really seem to know what personal space was and were quite insistent. You were obviously uncomfortable, a nervous smile in place, but they didn’t seem to understand. You inched backward until your back met the bricks behind you as you put distance between the men trying to avoid coming off as impolite. You really just wanted to find Shinsou and go home.
“Excuse me gentlemen, but I really should be going…” Your eyes darted around, searching for an opening to escape. Your eyes stopped their search when the man closest to you put his hand on the wall, leaning closer and effectively caging you in.
“Oh come on, we’ll worry about finding your cat later. Besides, you look a little turned around yourself, like a little deer that lost its way.” He smiled in a way that you believed was meant to be charming.
“Oh, no, I'm not lost.” You cringed back and gave him a nervous smile.
“This little deer looks thirsty,” The second man commented, tilting his head as he looked you over appreciatively. “We should take her for a cup of tea.”
You bit your lip, clenching your fists in an effort not to wring them nervously. Or wring their necks, you were undecided at the moment.
“No thanks, my sister's expecting me.” You bluffed, hoping it was enough to deter the two men.
“She's pretty cute for a Deer. How old are you, anyway? You live around here?”
The first man ignored your poor attempt of diversion and continued to press, not giving up.
“Leave me alone.”
You cringed away, dipping your head away as your mind swirled with possible lies and excuses to give to get away from them. You had other things to do, namely finding Shinsou.
The second man rolled his eyes at his friend, nudging his shoulder playfully. “You see? Your mustache scares all the girls.”
The first once chuckled, reaching out a finger to lightly brush against your cheek. “So? She's even cuter when she's scared.”
Tears pricked your eyes as you scrunched them closed, hot embarrassment and anger threatening to spill over. You jolted a little as a hand rested softly on your shoulder from beside you and gently pulled you away from the men and against a warm chest.
“There you are, sweetheart. Sorry I'm late. I was looking everywhere for you.”
A deep voice rumbled from the mystery man behind you. His grip was soft, almost nonexistent to give you the option to escape. But… He felt safe, for some reason.
The first man looked at the stranger, irritated gaze flickering between him and you, prompting you to lean more into the stranger. You were already going with his story, so you were going to make it convincing!
“Hey, we're busy here.” The first man scowled.
You could hear the smirk in the Stranger’s voice with his next words.
“Are you really?”
Both men made sounds of protest before something strange happened. Their limbs went slack, all tension disappearing as a glazed look appeared in their eyes, the words dying on their tongues.
“It looked to me like the two of you were just leaving.”
You watched in awe as the men walked away, just like that. As soon as your would-be tormentors were out of sight you whirled around to face your mysterious hero. Any words of thanks you were thinking of immediately fled your mind upon seeing him.
Oh no, you found him very attractive. He had unruly purple hair that flared out as if he had just been caught in the wind. Striking purple eyes that seemed even more brilliant considering the dark circles under them. You were fairly certain you would have gotten lost in them had you not noticed his bizarre choice of clothes. He was wearing a T-shirt that was a little bit too small for him and sweatpants and was...barefoot? You blinked in confusion at his feet before he cleared his throat and you snapped out of your daze.
“Are you alright?” He regarded you with concern, those dark purple eyes focused on your own.
You nodded quickly.
“I'm alright, thanks to you. What did you do to them, was that your quirk?”
He cringed at the mention of his quirk and one hand went to rub the back of his neck in discomfort as he averted his eyes.
“Yes, my quirk is brainwash. I can control people, but only after they’ve responded to a question of mine.”
He waited for the rejection and distrust that came with telling people about his “Villain” quirk. While people like Midoriya told him it could be used for good, most people still jumped to the criminal conclusion first. And although he hoped you would be different, he knew it would hurt so much more if you found his quirk frightening. He actually cared what you thought of him.
Your eyes widened and you considered the new info you gathered. You noticed he looked apprehensive, he was waiting for you to respond. An excited smile spread across your face.
“That’s an amazing quirk! It’s so useful! You could talk villains into custody, help in hostage situations, and stop fights before they even happen! There are so many possibilities! That’s so cool!”
Shinsou was shocked silent. Your beaming smile was dazzling and his mind refused to form coherent thoughts. The butterflies from earlier came back full force and it took him a second to remember how to breathe.
“You… really think all that?”
His voice was hesitant and hopeful but you misunderstood his quiet for awkwardness.
“I really do! Sorry if I got carried away there, I just think it’s a really cool quirk.”
You gave him a shy smile, trying to tone down your enthusiasm.
“And... Thank you for, you know.”
You gestured awkwardly to the direction the men went.
“I was starting to get really uncomfortable there. You were a lifesaver.”
You shot him another smile and he felt the tips of his ears go hot and his chest fill with warmth but pushed the feeling down and disguised it with a lazy smirk.
“Don’t give me all the credit, I just wanted to prevent their murder. You looked plenty capable. Still, I couldn't pass up my chance to find a smooth way to talk to you."
You grinned, quite taken by his charming words. Still, you had other things to worry about.
"Hmmm, as much as I'd love to continue getting compliments, I'm on a mission."
He raised an amused eyebrow.
"Oh? My apologies for keeping you.  If I can be of any assistance, just say the word."
You looked him up and down before nodding in confirmation.
"Yep. You'll do. You're purple, so I need your help to find my purple cat. Think you can manage it?"
He considered your words before grimacing.
"As much as I'd love to be your knight in shining armor and find him, that's not going to be so easy, all things considering."
Your amused look faded into one of confusion.
"And why is that?"
He avoided looking at you for a moment, his anxious behavior starting to worry you.
"Ask a question only your cat would know."
You stared at him in confusion, starting to wonder if the man was as sane as you had first thoughtAfterall, you had found him in an alleyway without shoes, so your chances weren't the best.
He grimaced and tried again.
"Ask me something only your cat would know, humor me, please. You can decide not to believe me or run or whatever, but please do this for me and listen first."
You were beginning to get scared. His tone was so much more serious than before. Still, something about him was familiar, and felt safe.  Taking a deep breath, you focused on him, scanning his face as you decided on your question.
"What did I call Shinsou when he broke my favorite mug?"
He honestly looked taken aback for a moment, eyes wide before he started cracking up, deep chuckles shaking his shoulders.
"of all things to ask, you chose the moment when I messed up?"
You froze, the implications of his words sinking in. There's no way... You scowled at him, enraged at the idea of someone pretending to be your best friend.  Still, the more you thought about it, the more similarities you saw. He really did look like the human version of your cat, eyebags and all. It was uncanny, but you knew that you wouldn't be able to tell for sure unless he answered.
He stopped laughing a leveled you with an amused smirk. "You called me an emo furbie before flinging yourself onto the couch and proclaiming that love was dead and you had been punished for your addiction to caffeine. "
You felt like you had been sucker-punched. Your brain short-circuited and you inhaled heavily. Shinsou's smirk dropped and he watched you with concern. He reached out to you as if to help you, but hesitated, unsure if you would want him to touch you. He looked at you with panic as your expression morphed between anger and something he couldn't identify.
"Shinsou... It's really you? But how? You're human now, how did that happen?"
He gave a small sigh of relief that you actually believed him.
"It's a really long story, but I was a human first. I'm a pro hero, but I was hit by a quirk that turned me into a cat. I thought I was going to be a cat forever until I met you. Somehow you were the missing piece that countered the quirk"
You nodded tiredly at his explanation, still a bit in shock, but less upset. You sighed and stepped forward, grabbing his hand before yanking him after you as you started walking.
He stumbled after you, confused but also pleased that you were holding onto him.
"uh, where are we going?"
You rolled your eyes before looking back at him.
"First, we're going to go get you some actual clothes. And shoes. Then we, are going home. You're still my Shinsou, and I'm still you're (y/n). Things have just shifted a little."
You flashed him a small smile, some of that sunshine that he loved shining through your eyes and he swore his heart skipped a beat.
"I'd love that. And I can't wait to tell you everything. The story, and how much I care about you."
You blushed as he raised the hand you were holding to his lips and kissed your knuckles, a small smile of his own in place.
A/N: bold lines are from the book Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix
Severus Snape emerged from the shadows to stand in front of his ally.
“I was starting to think you wouldn’t come, Severus.” The voice of Albus Dumbledore was, as expected, steady and confident. “Do you have it?”
Snape approached him, eying the room with suspicion. It was the first time he had stepped inside Dumbledore’s hiding place, but despite he trusted the man, a chill ran down his spine. Keeping a stoic expression, he reached inside his robes and handed him a rolled piece of parchment.
“She had it with her. As you said.”
Dumbledore unrolled the document and nodded slowly. Another name wrote itself with the others.
“It is vital that Cornelius sees Voldemort first. After that, I will personally make sure that this information reaches the aurors.” The bearded man walked to the end of the room; the dim light of a candle outlined Fawkes’ silhouette.
“My name appears on that list.” Snape watched Dumbledore’s hand halt in the air. He turned around and with challenging eyes, he stared at him as he unrolled the parchment again. Turning his gaze back to the paper, Dumbledore pursed his lips together as if he was going to whistle and with a light blow, the name ‘Severus Snape’ left the paper in the form of black ashes.
He looked up at the potions teacher from up his glasses. Snape nodded.
“What happened to Yankelevich?”
“She will be brought to Nurmergard” The phoenix moved so his master could slide the parchment under him. “Attempted murder, at least.”
“I don’t understand why you sent Williams. Yankelevich wasn’t an immediate threat and Alastor could have done it faster and more efficiently.”
Dumbledore turned and put his hands behind his back. “You underestimate her. She’s learnt fast, and listened to your instructions, didn’t she? You were busy training Harry to notice, of course, but her occlumency skills have improved enormously, and she’s been practising how to communicate with Mr Weasley.”
“You said she would, yes…”
“Well, she refused using her patronus to communicate, and she needed to be away from him to practise.” He opened his mouth to say something else, but he reconsider it. At Snape’s piercing stare, he kept going, “Astrid knew someone was up to no good and needed a favour, however,” he pointed at Fawkes’ nest “that was my goal.”
He walked to the nearest chair and sat down, grabbing a goblet from the table. Before sipping, he caught how Snape’s jaw tensed. “Besides, Alastor’s never run freely around a castle, breaking rules and finding places he is not supposed to enter. She has.”
“How did she know how to find it?”
“I said her skills had improved, not that they were better than mine. I might have… given her a small guidance.” He raised his hand up to his temple’s level and brushed his index and thumb together. “ I was certain that Karkarov knew about the existence of the room. It was the most logical place to hide it.”
“Where is he now?” demanded Snape.
Dumbledore looked at his partner with amused eyes, but corrected his demeanour quickly. “I have no idea. I mistakenly believed he would be in the forest. I sent a letter to Katherine in hopes she would meet him there. Turns out, he is smarter than I thought.”
“It won’t be long until He finds out Karkarov’s writing that.” Snape pointed at Fawkes’s nest, and the bird chirped unhappily.
“I know.” He tsked and took a sip from his beverage, “But it was his choice.”
“What are you going to do until then?”
“We’ll wait. That spell is not easy to perform. We’ll let him write as much as he can.” They fell silent for a long while, lost in their thoughts, until Dumbledore spoke again.
“When?”
“Tomorrow. He wants the prophecy.”
“Of course. Of course…” he stood up and crossed his hands in front of him and searched in his companion’s black eyes. Snape reached inside his sleeve and took out a small vial with a silver liquid in it. He handed it to Dumbledore, who read the tag ‘K. Williams. Durmstrang’.
“She will not remember the names.”
With one last nod, Albus Dumbledore observed how his confidant dissolved in the air.
Katherine Williams awoke for the second time in the same Grimmauld Place’s cold room. She let the sun rays hit her eyelids and savoured the memory of Charlie’s firm body against her own.
When she reached behind her, only cold sheets wished her a good morning.
Promise me something. Promise me you’ll wake me up to say goodbye.
She stared at the pillow next to her and sighed. To be fair, he didn’t make such a promise. He didn’t say anything at all.
Putting her disappointment aside, she prepared herself for one of the most exhausting whirlwinds one could face: the loving care of Molly Weasley.
Sitting up with her back against the headboard, she stretched her neck to the side and had to do a double take at the nightstand.
A pink flower with orange undertones sat beside a piece of paper that was folded in half. Her stomach flipped, and she considered forgiving him for leaving.
A snapdragon for the strongest of flowers.
I hope this wasn’t a one-time thing. Owl me.
“Oh, shut up!” Kate whispered, but a chuckle escaped her mouth, anyway.
Movement on the other side of the door startled her, and she hid the note under the pillow before quickly hiding herself behind the covers.
The doorknob turned, and Mrs Weasley entered the room.
“Oh, thank Godric you are alright!” Molly was by her side in four long strides and cradled Kate’s head in her hands. “How are you feeling? Charles told me you woke up last night. You look pale. Did you rest?”
“Yes, Mrs Weasley, I’m fine. My head is spinning a little, though.”
“Of course, of course, let me see that arm.”
Internally complaining, Kate let her put the cream on her arm and tend the bruises of her neck.  She didn’t have the courage to tell her that wouldn’t make the scar disappear. When she finished, Molly nodded with a satisfied smile and proceeded to pick up the clothes that were scattered on the floor. Kate held her breath during the entire the process.
“This boy... tsk... taught him better than this! At least he could have brought his clothes with him…” Kate wasn’t sure if she was oblivious or if she was giving them a green card because they weren’t at The Burrow. In any case, she felt the need to take Charlie off the hook.
“I’m sorry, that’s my fault, Charlie let me use his clothes after I showered and when I went to sleep... they were bothering me.” That wasn’t exactly a lie. She gestured her neck to point at her bruises and then remembered that maybe there were ones more recent, that she did not want to explain. Charlie had never left a mark on her, but that night he felt a tad possessive and she wasn’t sure he could be trusted.
Although Molly hadn’t commented on them while she was applying the cream, the younger witch rested her hand there, trying to appear casual. Just in case.
“Ah, don’t worry, dear.” Molly waved her free hand nonchalantly and went to pick her cloak from the floor. While putting on the robe that Charlie had left at the end of the bed, Kate remembered that she technically stole the uniform band.
“Oh, this is warm! What a nice coat!” She waved the magically warmed piece of clothing, admiring it, and something the size of a matchbox flew across the room in doing so. “Oh! I’m so sorry, I always check the pockets and now look at this!” She murmured something under her breath and went to pick up the mysterious object, but Kate interrupted her.
“I’ll get it, don’t worry.”
“Very well, then. I made you some breakfast, but it’s already cold, Charlie made me swear I would let you sleep in!” She laughed and when she was crossing the threshold, she added, “Arthur got your trunk, it’s downs… ah!”
Mr Weasley appeared from behind her with a smile on his face and his hands on her waist.
“Oh, not you too, Arthur, I have enough with your sons apparating everywhere…”
His husband ignored her with a laugh and entered the room, her trunk following him in the air.
“Special delivery!” He roared.
“Thank you so much, Mr Weasley.” He approached Kate, and after hugging her shoulders with an arm, he kissed the top of her head. “You scared us the other day, eh?” He squeezed her. “But, let’s thank Godric you are safe and sound! I must go to work now, if you’ll excuse me…”
“I’m fine, really. We healers recover quickly. Tonks filled me in, and I’m feeling alright.”
“Alright, then. I’ll let you change.” Molly placed a hand on her own cheek for a moment and left the room without another word.
The moment Mrs Weasley closed the door behind her, Kate spooned around and crawled down the wooden desk to retrieve the small object.
Placing it on her palm, she murmured ‘engorgio’, making the tiny leather journal grow to its original size.
Letters, maps, notes, names, drawings, and a full research on how to magically cross plant species were contained in that notebook. The past six months were portrayed in those pieces of paper, and their value was incalculable.
Looking up, she faced one of the obscure paintings that belonged to the Black family. Kate stared at a woman standing on a bridge in what appeared to be a forest, and a question formed in her mind. She needed to go to St. Mungo’s.
 Convincing Molly that she could go alone to the hospital was harder than the mission she just came from. After a diluted Invigoration Draught and some help from Lupin, she managed to step out of Grimmauld Place.
She didn’t feel ready to apparate, and she doubted she would ever be, so she enjoyed her walk through the streets of the city. With the muggle money that Lupin gave her, she jumped on the first underground station she saw and followed his directions.
She got comfortable on an empty seat and observed the people on the train car. When she saw a couple getting handsy in a corner, a wave of sadness washed over her, and had to look away.
She missed Charlie terribly. The night before was too desperate and rushed, she didn’t have time to savour the moment. She didn’t even ask him about his mission with the giants, about his dragons, or about how he felt all that time alone at home. Being on a mission kept her head occupied for most of the time, but now, with nothing to do, she anticipated some time of loneliness.
She brought her hand to her chest, and her heart ached even more when she couldn’t find the necklace that Charlie had gifted her many years before. No. Stop it. You’ll get answers and study your notes and then... and then you will have to explain to Dumbledore you lost an important document that could have saved lives. Brilliant.
Soft clapping noises brought her back to reality. A woman in front of her was struggling to hold an excited baby on her lap. Kate observed the child and smiled when his little finger touched her mother’s nose. The baby turned his head and stared at Kate for a while before raising his arm to wave at her. She chuckled and returned the greeting, her trip improving slightly and temporarily.
 Walking through St Mungo’s doors had a mixed effect of nostalgia and excitement. She had spent many hours in that hospital studying, training, and learning, and all of a sudden, she was fresh out of Hogwarts again, with all the emotions that implied. Taking a deep breath, she walked through the corridor and started searching for her first mentor and boss, Madame Louise.
She scanned the faces of the healers that were working, rapidly treating the patients like frantic ants recollecting their food.
“Williams?” Kate turned at the deep voice calling her and recognised the robust middle-aged woman in front of her. “What brings you here? I thought you were working in Romania?”
“Hello, Madame Louise, yes, well I was… working there. But I’m here as a patient today.”
Madame Louise frowned and looked at Kate up and down before giving a curt nod.
“Wait on that bed.” She said before turning and walking away.
Kate sat as directed and stared at the beautiful glass stained windows of the place.
“I request you let me go right now! This is nonsense.” She could recognise that firm voice anywhere. To her right Professor McGonagall was lying on one of the beds and arguing with a boy that Kate figured he was wishing he hadn’t been born.
She walked towards them and put a hand on the boy’s shoulder. “I’ll take it from here, thank you.”
“Who are you? You are not a healer; Madame Louise will hear about this.”
“Mister, this young woman knows more than you, do us all a favour and go with your mother.” Intervened McGonagall.
“I heard Jared O’Leary was looking for you.” The boy shifted in his place and nodded nervously before leaving them alone.
“Professor, what happened?” Kate’s healer mode activated and started scanning McGonagall for injuries and signals of distress.
“Oh, Williams, a lot is been happening this past year. I can imagine you’ve been informed?”
“Vaguely. I arrived two days ago from…”
“I know.”
Kate grabbed the file at the foot of the bed and read the report on McGonagall’s state.
“Four stunning spells to the chest?” She looked up and asked with her eyes, but her professor wasn’t in a mood for a talk.
“Williams, I must get out of here and go back to Hogwarts. I’m afraid it’s going to be too late by the time they let me go.”
“Professor, you could faint just by… too late for what?”
“Williams!” Madame Louise motioned her to come closer. Kate hesitated, but followed the mediwizard to a quieter space. “What happens to be the problem?”
“I’ve been poisoned two days ago.”
“In that case you should have come earlier, don’t you think?”
“There’s been… complications. I wanted to ask you if it’s possible to poison someone without using a vial or a potion or, I don’t know, food or drinks.”
The woman hummed and crossed her arms in front of her. “That’s rather strange.”
“Is this…” Kate moved the collar of the shirt to the side, revealing the red marks that hadn’t disappeared yet. “… a possible way?”
Louise grabbed the glasses that were hanging by a chain around her neck and placed them on the tip of her nose to inspect the injuries.
“The poison could have been injected with some kind of needle, but the shape of these marks means claws or… nails.”
She took her glasses off and waved them while talking. “I imagine it is possible, but you must have a very twisted mind to carry around poison in your nails. Also, you need to be very careful, a bad placement of the poison can cause yourself to get ill. In what kind of troubles are you getting into, Williams?”
“It’s a story for another day.”
 “Madame Louise, I can’t find Jared O’Leary…” The boy that was treating McGonagall appeared from behind Kate.
“What are you talking about? Go back to work! Naturally, you can’t find him. He doesn’t work here anymore!”
“But she…”
“Is every patient cured, Mr Boyle?” Kate slid away from the conversation to where Professor McGonagall was resting.
“I suddenly feel tired…”
Kate nodded and checked that the potions on her nightstand were filled and in order. A hand grabbed her wrist, and she turned to look at McGonagall.
“Katherine. You must find Potter. Something terrible is about to happen.”
Kate frowned and got closer to her former professor’s face.
“The Ministry. Try the Ministry,” she whispered.
Kate didn’t think twice. She ran all she could to the underground station, receiving some odd glances from the surrounding people.
When she arrived at the Ministry stop, she could sense the commotion even from the muggles that were passing by.
“A gas leak.” She heard while climbing up the mechanic stairs. Some people complained at her rudeness, but she couldn’t stop and apologise at the moment.
“There’s the press. Those vultures. It was probably a problem with plumbing. Look! The water reached the first floor!” A man said.
Kate tried to walk among the curious souls that were conglomerated around the building and recognised the protection bubble that was forming around it. She slid under it with ease.
“But I heard an explosion! I’m telling you!” a woman said to a journalist.
She tried to enter the building, but what seemed to be an auror stopped her.
“Let me in! I’m a healer!”
The man remained stoic and grabbed her arm.
“Identification?”
“I… I don’t have it right now but…”
“You can’t go in, Miss” She tried to get rid of him and she almost succeeded, but when the doors to the Ministry opened, she stopped the struggle. Four aurors walked out the building protecting several figures that walked behind them. She tried to reach them, but the security guard grabbed her again.
“You are the cursed girl! Daily Prophet here! Are you involved in the accident? How do you think your father will react to this? How do you think this is connected to your brother?”
“I’m not…” dumbfounded by the flash of a camera, she tried to escape from the journalists.
“Miss Williams! Miss Williams! What can you tell us about the person who died?”
She couldn’t hear anything, see anything, someone pushed her, and she felt another flash of a camera. Her head was spinning.
Cornelius Fudge stepped out of the building and pointed his wand at his neck. He cleared his throat and all the attention was directed at him.
“It is with great regret that I must confirm that the wizard styling himself Lord… well, you know who I mean… is alive and among us again.”
Tea In Ba Sing Se
Paring: Zuko x gn!reader
Warnings: cussing, fluff, slight angst
Description: modern age avatar au with tea shop Zuko
Word count : 1k
Tumblr media
Secret Tunnel softly played over the loud speakers in the Jasmine Dragon. Tightly gripped the tea cup as you blew on the steaming hot substance, your eyes locked into the boy behind the counter. The Jasmine Dragon had the best tea in all of the Earth Nation, as well as the most mysterious wait staff. The boy with the burnt eye was new, you had never seen him before, and you would have noticed him.
Your eyes followed him over the rim of the tea cup. His movements direct and smooth. Who was he? Where did he come from? What did he do before this? He never faltered, tripped, or stumbled even when guest got under foot. What could have possibly made him so nimble?
His voice was like honey when speaking to guest, but chipped and short when speaking to his coworkers. He didn’t seem to make friends easy. You felt drawn to him.
His scar seemed familiar some how, even though you were sure you had never seen him. Why wouldn’t he leave your mind?
Tumblr media
“Hello,” you said on your third Sunday visiting the shop with the brown headed boy present. You hadn’t changed your schedule since you first stated attending the tea shop several months ago, but now it was different with him here. His name tag read Zuko.
“Hello,” he replied in his honey sweet voice, “how can I help you?” The burnt eye squinted as a small smile played at his lips.
“Can you surprise me?” You asked, your cheeks inflamed. A confused look passed over his face as his small smile turned into a bright one. “With any type of drink.” You added.
“You got it.” He said his gold eyes holding a new spark. The two of you exchanged money before you parted for your usual seat by the window.
The weather outside was changing rapidly, pushing winter in with each passing moment. You brought out your laptop from your bag, and began typing away. When your tea was brought to your table, the cup read in scratchy letters, Earl Grey with a hint of almond milk. A smile played at your lips as you looked down at the lettering.
Weeks passed like this, Zuko preparing surprise teas per your request. His messy hand writing covering the side of your to go cup. The sight of him brought a smile to your face every Sunday.
Tumblr media
The cool air seeped into your bones as you rounded the corner to the Jasmine Dragon. The soft cotton of your grey beanie set a top your head, covering the tips of your ears as your nose ran. Your eyes began to watered as the wind picked up, fingers gripped the door handle leading into the Jasmine Dragon.
For a moment you allowed yourself to question why you chose to make the walk here every weekend. It’s the tea and free WiFi, you reasoned, knowing good and well that wasn’t the only reason any longer. While they played a big part in your continued visits, you couldn’t discredit the pounding of your heart when you heard his voice, sweet as honey.
The ding of the shop brought you back to the world around you. Iroh, the Jasmine Dragon’s owner, stood behind the counter. You felt a slight drop in your mood as the brown haired boy was no where to be seen.
“Good morning,” you said walking towards your window seat.
“Good morning,” Iroh replied, his happy disposition over taking your slight melodically.
“I think I decided on a major,” your bag slid nicely into the second seat at your table as you spoke.
“Oh yeah?” Iron asked leaning his hip against the counter, his back to you. “If you ever need a job you know you can just come to me.”
A smile played at your lips as his words filled the empty shop. You had gotten to know Iroh quiet well in the last few months. Despite what his family did, Iroh had a passion for Tea, and had started the shop because of it. Even though he only had one shop, it was known as the best in the whole region.
“I know,” you spoke bitting your lip subconsciously, “and you know I would, but my internship pays for my classes.”
A sign left the older mans mouth, “I always have to try. I know how hard they work you over there.”
“Over where?” The honey sweet voice asked from the back of the shop.
Your eyes darted to the doorway behind the counter where the brown haired boy now stood. His tan long sleeved uniform shirt stretched across his biceps as his shoulder casually leaned against the door. Carelessly, he wiped his hands on a rag before stuffing it into the front of his red apron.
“Sozin’s Comet” you explained, your voice coming out slightly quieter than before. “I work with a few other undergrads on a research project for the company. I- I hope to get placed on the Blue Spirt project when it takes off next winter.”
Zuko lazily pushed himself from the door way. “Why would you want to work with a company like that?” The words he spoke were dripping with venom as his body language and face showed indifference.
Sharply, you took a breath in, you had not expected this type of reaction. “It looked good on my college transcript, and on my resume. Plus,” you stated, your voice raising slightly, “Blue Spirit is supposed to focus on environmental issues like the over production of metals by the Fire Nation and its affect on Water Nation towns.”
Your hands slightly shook as you stared into his darkened gold eyes.
“That project was canceled.” He stated in the voice he reserved for his coworkers.
Your heart sank. That project was your ticket out of Ba Sing Se and straight to the capital city of the Fire Nation. “Oh,” you managed to reply as your body sagged. Suddenly, the scarf around your neck seemed to warm. One of your hands found its way to your beanie as it pulled it from your head, the other hand finding its way into your hair. “I might need that job then Iroh.”
Tumblr media
After Zuko told you The Blue Spirit project had been cancelled it was announced to the company. All your email inquires about the cancellation had been dismissed with little to no replies. How did Zuko know this information before you, you wondered? And why was this mysterious boy becoming even more mysterious?
Come Sunday morning you had even more questions that you started the week with. However, when you arrived at the tea shop at your usual time you found a coffee sitting at your table. The same scratchy lettering covered the side of the cup.
“Chai tea with 2 shots espresso” it read.
“He’s off today.” Iroh said, his voice carrying across the empty tea shop. “He felt bad for last week and wanted to make up for it.”
Turning the cup more you saw, “I’m sorry I’m a dick” -Zuko
A chuckle left your throat as you stared at the cup in your hand in disbelief. “Who is he?” You asked.
“Zuko?” Iroh questioned.
Pulling the cup from your lips you hummed a response. “He’s my nephew.”
Tumblr media
Weeks had passed, and winter was baring down harder than before. You hadn’t seen Zuko since you had found out his relation to Iroh and your Sunday ritual returned to normal pre-Zuko days.
The footsteps left in the snow disappeared in a blaze of white flurries. If you didn’t have homework due tonight, you would have stayed inside cuddled up on the couch watching tv. Instead, you were trudging through the streets of Ba Sing Se to the only tea shop with free WiFi.
“Iroh,” you said as soon as you walked through the door, snowflakes melting on your eye lashes, “I need something big and hot.”
A chuckle sounded from your left, “I’ve got this one Uncle.” His honey sweet voice said. A smile lit up Iroh’s face, as heat rushes to yours.
“Zuko,” you said, slightly surprised. He sat at your usual table, two cups placed before him, in a pair of black jeans and a wool coat to match. A maroon sweater popped out from underneath as well as the collar of a white shirt. Since the last time you saw him his hair had been cut much shorter than his once unkept mess.
“I didn’t expect to see you here,” you said slowly approaching the table.
“I didn’t expect to come back.” He replied not moving from his seat. “But I had to know something.”
Seating yourself across from him you spared him another glance. His golden eyes held a new spark to them, and his plump pink lips were slightly chapped from the cold. His tongue darted out to wet them as he looked at you.
“Did you know I was in charge of the Blue Spirit project when you brought it up that day?” He asked sliding a cup in your direction.
“I didn’t.” You replied honestly. “I actually never made the connection. You seemed familiar to me in the beginning but I couldn’t place from where.”
The door of the shop opened, letting in a gust of wind from the harsh outside air. A shiver ran through your body, reminding you of your need for a warm beverage.
“Is that where you’ve been?” You asked casting your gaze downward.
“Yes,” He replied. “You reminded me why I started the project in the first place actually. I was just so frustrated when my father shot it down before I could even begin it, I ran away.”
The shop had began to fill with its regular morning crowd now, voices filling the once silent space. You brought the cup to your lips instead of responding. The warm liquid warmed you as Zuko’s eyes found their way to your lips.
Clearing your throat, you caught Zuko’s eyes. “But what does that really have to do with me.” You asked.
“Right,” a small smile lit up his face, “while I’ve been gone I’ve actually been looking into your work. I was impressed and I want you to be my partner.”
Your breath caught in your throat, and shock over took your features. “O-on the project.” Zuko rushed out after seeing your reaction. A light dusting of pink painted his features.
“I thought you said your father shot it down.” You replied neglicting to give him an answer.
His hand reached around the back of his head, scratching at the base of his neck, “He did, but that doesn’t matter anymore.” His eyes left yours as he spoke, looking off into the shop.
A frustrated sign left your lips, “and why’s that.” You replied.
The boy who spoke in a honey sweet voice, and made you surprise teas every Sunday morning sat before you, not the one who snapped at you over his own company. However, the frustration you felt these last few weeks at his absence was finally coming out.
“Spit it out Zuko.” You snapped, “I have hours of homework to do and your wasting my time.”
“My father doesn’t run the company anymore, I do.” He started, “And I would like your help if your willing to. I’m sorry for wasting your time I just-” he stopped. The hand that was at the base of his neck found yours across the table as he met your eyes. “I didn’t, no- I don’t want to leave Ba Sing Se without you. So take the job.”
The softness of his voice, mixed with the calistness of his hands disorientated you. There was a plead in his words. You didn’t reply right away, weighing your options. In the few moments of silence between you, Zuko had pulled his hand away.
“I’m sorry,” he blurted out, grabbing his things, “I shouldn’t have asked you that. You barely know me. I’m just going to go.” He grabbed his car keys and tea before standing.
As he passed by, you grabbed his sleeve, following him to your feet. “I just have one question,” you said to the back of his head. Turning to look at you, he met your eyes. “Am I allowed to do this?” You asked before pulling his sleeve to crash your lips onto his.
The chatter of the Jasmine Dragon continued around the two of you as Zuko slowly moved his lips against yours. His free hand quickly found its way to your cheek, caressing it. Once you pulled away Zuko looked into your eyes.
“Yes, just not in the office.”
A smile made it way to your face, “That’s rough buddy.” You replied before pressing your lips back to his.
Nabbing up this meme + my answers from twitter to post here!
1. what's their favorite beverage - alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic?
She's pretty simple with alcohol: give her anything fruity and/or sweet and she's set, it's a bit cliche but sex on the beach has a 'special' memory attached. Same with non-alcoholic drinks really, she loves Shirley temples, fruity teas and lemonades, and super sweet coffee drinks.
2. what's their favorite flavor? (spicy, sweet, sour, etc)
Mana will eat just about anything, she's very eager to try new foods (whether she thinks she'll like them or not) - but she does ESPECIALLY love sweet foods of any kind. She's also pretty much got that crazy anime, Usagi/Goku kind of appetite/stomach going on.
3. what's their favorite food?
She has such a deep love for food in general it's hard to nail one thing down. Some honorable mentions would be souffle pancakes, and just about any sweet apple baked good, crepes, fresh fruits, and mochi. (...I swear she does love foods other than sweets, like big juicy burgers and pizza.)
4. breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks - which do they look forward to the most?
All of the above. She LOVES a good breakfast spread though, (missing from #3: breakfast sandwiches!!!) and dessert (obvious by now, surely) places pretty high.
5. do they have a food or flavor they absolutely hate?
For a while she really disliked apple-based foods because she ate a LOT of them as a kid, but she's come back around to loving them. Otherwise, not the biggest fan of avocado (mostly a texture thing) or cottage cheese, and celery can only be in soup/stew or covered in peanut butter and raisins.
6. can they tolerate spicy food?
She doesn't have a very HIGH tolerance, but she does enjoy food that has some kick to it. But not a fan of say, spicy food SOLELY for the sake of spiciness, she's not just drenching her food in hot sauce for the thrill of it, but wants it to be a part of a wider variety of tastes.
7. what is their favorite animal?
Rabbits! She also really likes cats, foxes, and snakes, but rabbits are a big 'personal' animal for her. (Modern AU she wears some cute-ass rabbit headphones while streaming.) As far as 'image' animal goes, it's almost a little verse dependent, or as she's been told: 'You play the part of the rabbit, but you're really quite the clever little fox.'
8. what do they wear to bed?
Anything from long shirts/nightgowns, pajama shorts+tank tops, to just her underwear or sleeping in the nude if it's really hot out. She absolutely owns (at least) one of these, too, mostly for lounging around.
Tumblr media
9. what position do they like to sleep in?
She moves a lot in her sleep, but can typically be found starfishing or curled up in a ball. Alternatively, wrapped around one of her many pillows, or (more preferably), Belial. In the latter case, there's zero regard for temperature, even if she's hot and sweaty and miserable good luck prying her off of him.
10. are they a morning person or a night owl?
While Mana is naturally more of an early bird, she also loves the night time and stargazing, and just the solitude the night often brings, so sometimes it's all down to day-to-day moods and vibes.
11. are they a heavy sleeper or do they wake up easily?
Generally a pretty heavy sleeper, unless she's having pain or otherwise can't relax (whether anxious or excited). She can sleep through a lot when she's out though, for better or worse. (Bel usually doesn't have a hard time getting her up, though.)
12. it's a rainy day, what will they do cooped up inside all day?
........fuck around with Bel. >_> Otherwise, making treats in the kitchen, reading/writing letters, or just curled up with a book and watching the storm. ..Pretty much all of these will also end with fucking around with Bel (again) though.
If there's thunder, due to mild astraphobia, she might need to take something to help her relax, or listen to some music, but the above still applies for want of distractions.
13. do they have a favorite scent or smell?
Fresh baked goods, Belial, coffee, the smell of freshly warmed milk with cinnamon and honey.
14. what do they smell like? do they wear perfume or cologne?
If she hasn't been out fighting/traveling (thus smelling like the outdoors, campfire, flowers, sweat), she's likely to smell like something sweet; cinnamon, honey, or just whatever she's recently cooked. There's almost always a sweet apple-y smell around her no matter what.
15. baths or showers?
Baths! Long, luxurious, bubble-filled baths that ease all the aches and tensions. Bath time is relax and unwind time, a sacred art complete with bath salts, bath bombs, or maybe candlelit with some snacks and wine, or a good fruit juice.
16. how good are they at cooking?
Very good! She loves to cook and bake, both for herself and especially for others, and enjoys trying out new recipes and techniques. It started out of necessity, cooking for herself and her brother, but she really grew to enjoy it seeing the way he'd light up, and also cuz she just loves to eat. Preparing holiday goodies for occasions like Valentines and White Day are favorite festivities of hers, and in modern au she works at a bakery.
17. what's their favorite time of the year and why?
While she enjoys all of the seasons for different reasons, she probably enjoys spring and summer the most. She likes being outside, enjoying the air, and especially loves going to the beach.
18. do they have a favorite holiday?
Halloween and Christmas (and their varying fantasy equivalents) for sure. Halloween is perfect for her, between her sweet tooth and love of mischief-making. Meanwhile for Christmas she typically goes all out preparing seasonal foods and gifts for friends.
19. do they prefer buying ore receiving gifts?
She wouldn't be ashamed to say both. 'Who doesn't love receiving gifts?' after all, though she can get a little flustered if it starts to edge towards spoiling her. Her gift-giving can range from 'very good', choosing the perfect gift for the individual, to... outlandishly questionable (or at least humorous) - though, no less thoughtful, necessarily.
20. how tall are they, and how do they feel about their height?
She stands around 5'2", and typically doesn't think much of her height or 'lack thereof'. Except, say, when she's trying to get something off of the highest shelves and cupboards, though that usually just means she gets to climb on the counters.
adore you
Okay it’s safe to say I was supposed to be writing this in inspiration of ‘cherry’ but i completely forgot and by the end, i based it on adore you instead soooo... Anyways, this will probably be a series that is connected through the song but not the stories if that makes any sense???? But this is now in celebration of adore you and i’ll most likely make a masterlist after a few more. Also, i haven’t answered any of my asks from months ago about the silver springs series so i apologise for not doing so, i’ll try be more active! Enjoy x
The one where Harry wants her, even after their breakup.
Word count: 1.6k
Angst and a smidgen of fluff
She answered the ringing phone across her room, stretching her body as she reached out for the vibrating device. Her eyebrows furrowed, looking at the five-letter name that filled the screen with no contact photo.
Harry.
Y/N let the phone ring, watching and counting in her head the number of times she let it ring.
One. Two. Three.
And it ended like that. She grabbed her phone, unlocking it before going to her missed calls, his contact name spread at the top of the screen. Her lips pointed to one side, wondering if he would call again or maybe she would.
God, she hasn’t seen that contact in forever. Of course, she’s seen the name, with the tabloids and social media where he’d sometimes pop up in her notifications if she posted, but it wasn’t too unusual. They ended off on good terms, she likes to think... But a piece of her knows the breakup wasn’t fair, with Y/N leaving him abruptly and it was safe to say that they both ended up in tears. Especially Harry - he didn’t want to break up with her at all but they concluded with Harry respecting her decision to leave. He reminded himself to be the man his mother raised him. She wanted to leave, not being able to handle the pressure of dating such a man and being too afraid. Heck, he even proclaimed his love for her, insisting she didn’t have to say it back but his plans never work out the way he desires. And so Harry’s dreams were set fire by fiends.
Her thumb unconsciously tapped the screen and before she knew it, the phone was vibrating again but it was her turn to call. Unlike her response, he answered almost straight away.
It connected but silence filled the phones, only small sounds of rustling on the other side before a cough emitted through her speaker.
“Y/N?”
He sounded tired. His voice raspy, the one word said as if her name was delicate, rolling off his tongue with a simple stride. Harry missed saying her name, not that he called her by it much since he loved nicknames. But when he did, it toured him back to the first time they met, only calling her by her name before slowly introducing endearing terms that made her heart feel warm.
“Hi,” she let out a quick breath, closing her eyes as darkness blurred her vision.
“You answered.”
Opening her eyes, she held her breath before releasing, a shaking fan of air gasped from her lips.
“Did you need anything?” She asked, wanting to get straight to the point because if they dwelled along, the string would get tangled.
“I-I miss you. Y/N, please come over, jus’ for tonight,” he murmured barely above a whisper but she could hear the desperation lacing in his tone. Y/N ran her tongue across her teeth, slightly touching her lips as she looked outside her window.
“Are you okay Harry?”
“Please Y/N,” he ignored her question, almost begging on his knees. He missed everything — from her presence to her smile. “Jus’ one more night.”
Y/N barely heard his last words, her mind hitting hard against her goose-bumped skin, contemplating what she should do. Her love for Harry was crawling back up into the present, tugging on her heartstrings to just say yes. “Harry, I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“You breaking up with me wasn’t a good idea yet here we are.”
She frowned at his salty remark, knowing he wasn’t kidding and it was half true. Fumbling with her words, she let out an answer.
“Okay.”
When she ended the call, she didn’t realise how dark it was outside. Of course, she knew that it was late afternoon but the sun seemed to say goodbye a little earlier than usual. Nevertheless, she drove to the address that was imprinted in her mind like an instinct. Y/N wasn’t gonna lie when she pulled up into his driveway, she was hesitant to come out, almost wanting to steer her wheel back to the traffic. But she mentally slapped herself, dragging her body to the front porch and knock at his door. And when it opened, she almost wanted to cry.
Harry looked beautiful — maybe even more than usual, probably because there was a part of her that realised the absence of his being hurt her more than it should. His face was unshaven, scuffed and a little rough. His hair all messed and tousled while the only piece of clothing were sweatpants and a lavender robe that gave a sneak peek of his tattoos. His eyes were sunken as if all the forest colours were sucked out, filled with an undertone of grey that lacked life. Yet, Y/N still found him as gorgeous as ever.
“Y/N.” God. She was wrong when she thought that Harry saying her name over her phone sounded heavenly, she forgot what he sounded in real life. Y/N wasn’t able to speak, Harry beating her to it. “Come in.”
She nodded her head, following him through the living room as he sat down on the couch. A wave of memories rushed through her mind before she blanked out. “Harry, you don’t look okay.”
He let out a chuckle, thinking it was the most obvious thing ever. “No shit.”
Y/N simply shook her head, leading herself towards the kitchen to prepare themselves a cup of tea, knowing it was what he needed.
“You don’t need to do this Y/N.” She heard his voice come closer as she turned around from the counter, watching him take a seat in front of the island.
Y/N rubbed her hand against her temple. “Then what do you want from me?”
She was left with silence, letting out a frustrated sigh as she turned around, grabbing two mugs and pouring the newly brewed tea. Harry watched her intently, every action observed and noted in his memory. And to be honest, he didn’t even know exactly what he wanted from her — all he knew was that he just wanted her.
“How’s your life, Y/N?” What exactly was he trying to do? He didn’t want to know the basic bullshit of her life, he wanted something more and it seemed like both of them knew that.
Y/N let out a laugh, handing him the cup of tea as he gave thanks. She sat down next to him on the stool and took a small sip off of her cup. “Cut it, Harry.”
“Okay well, got any new guys?” He joked, taking a big sip of his beverage that warmed through the midst of their talking.
It was then that he noticed that she stayed silent. Almost too silent.
“Holy fuck.” He stood up abruptly, walking around the kitchen counter before rummaging through the cupboard as Y/N panicked.
“Harry, it’s not serious.” She watched as he kept shaking his head in detail, taking out a bottle of wine and pouring it into a tall glass. “We’re not even together, H.”
“B-but it’s only been a few months, Y/N!” He almost shouted, her whole body shifting immediately at his tone. “Fuck, I miss you so much.” His whole demeanour seemed to change, sobbing the last words out of his mouth, the glass of wine almost finished as he gulped it down within seconds. He continued repeating the same phrase and Y/N felt frozen, unbeknownst to the fire his heart was feeling in that moment. Publicly admitting his words made everything the mile more real.
He missed her, more than anything. He craved those small moments with her. From the one time, they stayed through the summer sky and into the night on her couch, their bodies filled with junk food as they cuddled up into each other, leaving little to no space for anything else. Or the one time that Y/N woke up in the middle of the night, begging Harry to take her to the nearest 24 hours McDonald's for a sundae. And although reluctant, by the time they were there, Harry’s pinkie finger was covered in ice cream, slathering it onto her nose as Y/N carelessly left kisses all over his face. And did he mention that her kisses were like a strawberry lipstick state of mind? It was those moments he craved. It gave him pure bliss, never feeling connected to the woman more than anyone in the world like he had just walked into her rainbow paradise. He was head over heels completely infatuated.
By the time tears were escaping, Y/N had rushed towards him, her arms wrapping around his figure. He hugged back the instant he felt the familiar embrace, his head nestling into her neck as he continued mumbling how much he missed her.
“I missed you too.” She tightened the grip around them, almost tearing up herself again. They stood still for a silent minute just to bathe in each other’s presence and collect their hurt. But it was when Harry spoke up that they slightly let go, their face only inches away.
“Would you believe it? Would you believe that I’d do anything for you? Probably walk through fire for you. You don’t even have to be mine for me to do all that,” he breathed out as Y/N nodded profusely, their lips almost touching.
But she moved her head a little backwards, giving her enough space to wipe the stray tears that left Harry’s tired eyes, feeling the softness of his skin against her thumb before pulling away. “I know.”
Harry drawing her a tiny bit closer as he pressed a chaste kiss on her forehead. He looked into her eyes, getting lost like he did the first time he saw her. It was then that Harry knew just what he wanted from her.
“Just let me adore you.”
