Harry Potter Headcanon (1)

James wrote a song called “Harry’s Victory.”

James Potter learned to play the piano beautifully and compose music at an early age. Classical music was a tradition passed down through the Potter family.

When James and Lily were in hiding with Harry, James composed songs on the family piano to keep himself sane.

James was so worried about the prophecy and what it meant for his beloved son’s future… The words “neither can live while the other survives” haunted him.

One day, in his despair over what could be his son’s fate, James wrote a song called “Harry’s Victory.” It was filled with equal parts hope and grief and it said everything that words couldn’t.

He handwrote the sheet music and scribbled at the very bottom of the last page “I believe in my son.”

The summer after the Battle of Hogwarts, the Ministry finally turned over the possessions found in the rubble of the Potter House to Harry. The sheet music was amongst the recovered items.

Hermione played the music for Harry and the Weasley family on the piano. It was the most moving experience of Harry’s life and he treasured the gift from his father forever.

A recording of “Harry’s Victory” was released to the Wizarding World that fall and it went down in history. It was an anthem… to remember the First and Second Wizarding Wars, to honor those who had fallen, and to celebrate the victory that had saved them all.

James Potter is a terrible singer, completely tone-deaf; he sings off-key and makes up his own lyrics most of the time. But this has never stopped him from standing up on the nearest table and singing his little off-key heart out, especially while drunk. Lily is an okay singer, she's not going to be the next Adele or Whitney Houston, but she can keep a tune. She's usually singing under her breath or humming; while making a potion, walking down the hallways, or buttering her toast in the mornings. The only time Lily is actually quiet is when she is reading, immersed in one of her books.

Harry Potter is an amazing singer, the next Frank Sinatra, if you will, but he rarely sings. He has enough on his plate as it is, he doesn't stop to think about songs or isn't in the best mood to sing. Most of the attempts at singing while living with the Dursleys were swiftly shut down by his aunt's screams.

James Potter is a terrible singer, but all the rhythm he lacks while singing he makes up with his body. James is an incredible dancer, no matter what song is playing he can work out a dance and look elegant while doing so; salsa, bachata, hip-hop, he can do it all. Harry Potter has two left feet, he is absolutely terrible on the dance floor. During the Yule Ball, he tripped and stepped on many toes. Dancing is the only good thing he didn't inherit from his dad.

she's so messy. like,, in every possible way.

she loves playing in the rain/mud and finding insects and fishing and camping. as a kid, she'd always spend her days in the park and come back an absolute mess and petunia would have a go at her. her hair is usually tangled and hands covered in mud or potion ingredients. very much an outdoorsy person and not afraid of getting a bit dirty.

but also messy as in the way she lives is very much unorganised and chaotic. she's in like 20 clubs and will just suddenly remember she's got a meeting or an essay she's meant to be doing. and her relationships with people are very messy, like a lot of situationship's and friendship drama surrounding her.

after growing up in a family full of love and flowery names, lily began believing that her soulmate would have a flower name just like her, and she would refuse to settle for less. she was very spiritual and full of faith and loved little signs like those. she even used to tell her closest friends that they should reach for the same thing, telling sirius to find someone to match his clear night sky and telling remus to find someone to match his wolf. she had to admit she played matchmaker with that one.

until she turned 15, and slowly started realising how deep she’d fallen for her best friend, mary. she knew she wouldn’t get over that very soon, but also felt a sense of loyalty to her younger self and her beliefs, so she decided to attempt to repress it for a little while. but then she realised she didn’t even know what the name mary meant, so she’d asked. and that’s when she found out.

Random Marauders Headcanons

pt. 1

James: started writing “siriusly” as a joke back in year 1 and now has to pause every time before writing “seriously” correctly

Sirius: loves house plants. can’t keep one alive for shit

Remus: doesn’t like ice cream. texture issues. “weird consistency, I’m not putting pseudo-solidified cheese in my mouth”. (fine with ice lollies)

Peter: his favorite number is 3 and made it a core personality trait

Mary: oldest of 3 (two boys)

Lily: thought she didn’t want kids until she got pregnant. Marlene would always help her with the 1st years after she was made prefect, she couldn’t deal with them

Marlene: sleeps with socks on

Regulus: gives the best presents ever. he’s too observant for his own good. it’s creepy sometimes

Barty: teaches Regulus Italian. Regulus teaches him French (tries)

Evan: wears dress robes even on off days

Dorcas: loathes warm weather. winter supremacist

Pandora: has a crow plushie her dad gave her when she was a kid (Lestrange family emblem) and sleeps with it still
