This has made me realize two things. The first is that I really need to get better at organizing my creative writing folder. The second is that I actually don't write that much WoT fic- or rather I don't start that many WoT Wips. If I'm going to write a WoT thing, I commit to the bit hardcore. No half finished stasis mode forever.

Winter x Sun

much like the criticisms i had for sunflakes, this ship can also fall heavily into the "white saviour / using the faunus lover as a gotcha to prove this character is no longer racist" & it just immediately sets my teeth on edge. this does have a step up in that winter for the most part wasn't racist (until the marrow incident) & hadn't had those interactions with sun.

i could also see them just gelling in a better way due to winter being more flexible in regards to different personalities, we see that she gets along well with both penny & clover, who are alike to sun in personality: so personally i could see this being a ship where sun is able to help her loosen up some & winter can help him to be more responsible.

not something i actively ship, but cute. ✨

Sun was outside Blake's house, holding a bouquet. Jaune stood next to him, holding his guitar.

Jaune: So why am I here exactly?

Sun: Because I can't play the guitar. And besides, Neptune's busy.

Jaune: Hmmm, I dunno if it's a good idea. It's pretty late. What if Blake gets mad?

Sun: This always works in the movies. Come on, bro, help me out. Pleeeeeease?

If Netflix made a Live Action Remake of RWBY

The Red, White, Black, and Yellow Trailers would probably be merged into the first episode, with Ruby's fight with Torchwick serving as the climax.

The Shining Beacon, The First Step, The Emerald Forest, and Players and Pieces would all be merged into a single episode.

The Badge and the Burden, Black and White, and the Stray would be a single episode, but with the plotline about the conflict between Weiss and Blake cut out because Netflix doesn't want "a racist main character", completely missing the point of Weiss' arc.

Best Day Ever, Welcome to Beacon, A Minor Hiccup, and Painting the Town would be merged.

Jaunediced, Extracurricular, Burning the Candle, and the dance part of Dance Dance Infiltration would be merged.

Field Trip and Forever Fall would be merged.

Search and Destroy, Mountain Glenn, and the Breach would all be one episode.

The first 5 episodes of Volume 3 would be merged with the "Infiltration" part of Dance Dance Infiltration.

The flashbacks from Midnight would be inserted into the beginning of Fall. We'd also see Adam's brand for the first time here.

Beginning of the End through the first half of PVP would be one episode.

The second half of PVP through the End of the Beginning would be one episode.

Volumes 1-3 would be a single season.

Weiss' negative traits would be downplayed to keep her from being too "problematic".

Jaune's incel behaviors would be adapted out entirely, and he'd start with his mid Volume 3 personality and competence in order to make him "more likeable".

Adam's abuse of Blake would change from psychological and emotional manipulation to physical abuse to make it more blatant.

We see Adam's SDC brand very early on in the series due to Netflix completely missing the point in some aspects.

Ironwood would have a throwaway line about planning to annex Vale "for it's own good" that gets broadcasted by Cinder during this verse's equivalent of "PvP".

Some leitmotifs that weren't introduced until later in the show, such as Lionize, would be introduced earlier. This also means that Blake gets to have "From Shadows" to herself instead of her and Adam just having the same leitmotif playing in different keys. This would be the ONLY change that fans would agree was an improvement over the original, with everything else just making everyone upset.

The opening sequence would debut at the end of Episode 1, and would either be a remix of "This Will be the Day" or an original piece.

Cinder would not shoot Pyrrha in the heart. Instead, she'd use her Semblance to immolate her alive and drop her charred corpse on the ground, then give Ruby a breaking speech and try to kill her, unwittingly triggering Ruby's Silver Eyes.

Sun would have his monkey tail, but it'd be easy to forget he has because of how rarely he'd use it.

Salem would have normal eyes instead of the red pinpricks for budget reasons.

I can absolutely think of more I might bring up later.

I remember it like it just happened yesterday. I was five years old, and my sister wanted to watch a movie my parents didn't want her to watch. She had to be the rebel, and I had to be so insistent on joining her. It was a rainy evening, with the sounds of thunder now distant. My sister snuck into her room, holding the forbidden tape. A friend let her borrow it.

The cover haunts me to this day. Three brothers, all looking around in fear while the four terrifying monsters watched from above. They had horns, claws, tails, and even an extra pair of ears. They wore silver suits, and demanded human subjects to rule. Those who denied them were killed. Destroyed. Erased. The titale still haunts me.

"Inhumans".

"We all good?" Yang asked with a cheeky smile.

"We're good." Weiss nodded. She turned to Blake. "Right?"

"We are." Blake nodded to her.

Today had been a long day. Fighting terrorists and criminals was hard work, but Ruby and her team still managed to make it back before curfew. Finally, after spending so long searching for their teammate, they could sleep easy knowing Blake was back in the dorm, safe and sound.

"I'm honestly relieved you know." Blake sighed outside the dorm room. "The ribbon was starting chafe."

"I wish you told us sooner." Weiss chirped. "If we had known, you would be able to sleep easier. Now I feel guilty for being so rude."

"It's fine." Blake replied.

"Yeah," Ruby opened the door, finally finding her key app on her scroll, "but it's still weird to me. Why would you want to hide your trait?"

The door behind them opened, and Jaune stood there in his footie pajamas, yawning. "Could you guys keep it down?" He asked, yawning. "It's almost midnight."

"S-Sorry, Jaune." Ruby waved in defense. "We had a big day, but we finally found Blake!"

Blake gave a little wave catching Jaune's attention. Her clothes were scuffed with dirt, her hair was fraying out, and she looked absolutely pooped from whatever excursions they shared. But what really caught Jaune's attention was above her head, and wiggled free as they could withouttheir cover.

"Uh, y-yeah, that's great, Ruby!" Jaune said a little louder than he wanted. "I'll, uh, see you guys at breakfast!" Before they could reply, he shut the door.

"Uh, was that weird?" Yang asked.

"He's probably tired." Weiss answered, entering before everyone else. "As am I."

"I call first shower!" Ruby rushed in.

Blake just stood there, unmoving.

"Uh, you good there, Blake?"

"Uh, y-yeah." She blinked. "I, uh, just... I need to go to bed." She entered without breathing a word of it to her team, but she heard it clear as possible. Behind the door, her exceptional hearing caught that one word she never expected Jaune of all people to say.

"Inhuman."

The next morning, at breakfast, teams RWBY and JNPR ate together as they always had. But today was different, more two big reasons. The first was the sister team's interest to know the details of their harrowing episode outside the school. The second was Blake watching Jaune as he stole glances from his end of the table at her.

"How many guys were there?" Nora asked excitedly.

"Well, we didn't actually show up until most of the fight was over." Ruby answered, before turning to Blake. "How many bad guys did you and Sun beat up?"

"Huh?" Blake replied. "Oh, uh, I think six or seven White Fang."

"You alright, Blake?" Yang asked. "You've been a little spacey lately, Blakey."

"I'm fine. Just... distracted."

"Ren, we should go find a lot of trouble in town!" Nora bounced in her seat.

"No, we shouldn't." Ren replied stoicly.

"I think it's best to let the professionals handle this." Pyrrha stated. "But I'm glad you're all alright after everything that happened." She turned to Jaune. "What about you, Jaune? You've been awfully quiet."

"Uh, w-well, I, uh..." Jaune was pale. Paler than normal. He fidgeted slightly in his seat when a finger prodded his shoulder. He jumped and turned, finding a startled sight.

"Oh, sorry!" Velvet held up her hands defensively. "I didn't mean to spook you. Coco just wanted me to thank you for your help the other day. With Team CRDL."

"Y-Yep! No problem!" Jaune stood up, quickly moving past the rabbit Faunus. "Excuse me, I have to go!"

Before anyone could stop him, he was out of the cafeteria. Everyone looked at each other in confusion, including Velvet. She felt awkward standing there, so she returned to her seat with little more than a wave good-bye.

"That was weird, right?" Yang asked.

"I know." Nora said. "Velvet usually says cheers when she leaves."

"No, Jaune's reaction." Ren pointed out. "I've never seen him do that."

"Me neither." Pyrrha added. "Have any of you noticed anything?"

"No, not really." Ruby answered.

"I try to keep my affairs as far from him as possible." Weiss replied.

"Yeah, I got nothin, either." Yang shrugged.

"Actually," Blake said, all eyes now on her, "there was something about last night. When we were getting back late, we were being noisy, so he asked us to keep our voices down. But when he looked at me, he seemed... uncomfortable, or maybe even scared."

"Scared of you?" Yang asked. "Why?"

"Yeah, why?" Nora asked. "Did he drop your book in the toilet?"

"No, that was you, Nora," Ren answered, "and it was my Green Life cookbook you accidentally dropped."

"Yeah, right," Nora looked off to the distance, "accidentally."

"Well, he..." Blake glanced around before leaning forward to whisper. "He saw my ears."

"He saw... your ears?" Pyrrha asked, not understanding.

"They're cute, little ears." Nora shrugged. "If he's afraid of small things, then why does he like Weiss so much?"

"Hey!" The heiress frowned.

"No, I mean..." Blake pointed to her bow. "My other ears."

Pyrrha and Ren widened their eyes in surprise. Nora gave a confused look until Ren whispered something. She then slapped a hand over her mouth. And then another hand. Blake flushed.

"But what does that have to do with Jaune?" Pyrrha asked. "Jaune isn't like Cardin. He helped out Velvet when she needed it."

"It doesn't have to be malicious to be racist." Blake explained. "People seem to think racism is anger or hatred, but it's sometimes fear, something he was taught from a young age." Blake closed her eyes and thought. "He called me inhuman."

"Wouldn't that mean you're in with humans, like part of the group?" Nora asked.

"No, in means not." Weiss said. "And that is an older slur. I remember my grandfather telling my mother about the hate crimes he stopped when he was younger. "

"Okay, let's slow down a bit here." Yang said holding out her hands. "Before he go calling Jaune a racist, we should figure out his side of things, right?"

"Yang's right." Ruby nodded, standing up. "Jaune is our friend, which means we should hear him out before calling him things like 'racist,' or 'pecipiced'."

"Prejudiced." Blake corrected.

Tomorrow aka Sat 1st July 2023, tickets for a lesser known but utterly amazing Discworld event will go sale.

Llamedos Holiday Camp is the place that the Discworld books put in the head of the Camp Director.

We are sure that at some point, the Goddess Narrartivia would have shouted about it very loudly at Terry in the hope he would have written about it, but she didn't get that chance so she seeded the idea in the Camp Directors head instead.

Llamedos Holiday Camp (LHC) is run by an ex assassin Rwby, she graduated from the Assassin's Guild in Ankh-Morpork with ease, but she liked the idea of going home to Llamedos and found herself running a camp for those who wish to be "A Disc-world away...."

She employed a tema she called her PurpleCoats, some of which are a local Druid known as Dai the Druid, Megghie the cleaner, Tim Vimes a comedian, Beryl Ogg and eventually Mistress Weatherwax showed up and announced herself as the Head of Entertainment.

Rincewind stopped in whilst running away from something and the camp found itself a head of sports as a result.

In the past there has been events at Llamedos Holiday Camp, the Dragon Trials (Crufts for Swamp Dragons) and a small WItch Trials commitee showed up one year and this year, the local Scout association the Llamedos Pathfinders, asked if they could run a Discworld Scout Jamboree at the camp.

So for 2024 the Llamedos Holiday Camp Scout Jamboree is the place to be!

With Scouts from all over Discworld convening on the camp, Rwby decided that they should provide some exclusive activity badges and make it a small but fun competition.

There are 10 Scout regions on the Disc, and Rwby thought they would enjoy the challenge of competing to be the Best of the Best of the Best Discworld Scouts

Llamedos Holiday Camp is an event designed and run for adults.

We always say that our camp guests are a bit like the Nac Mac Feegles, they drink, they swear, they fight and they have an absolute blast.

There are no talks or panels at Llamedos Holiday Camp, it is all activty based with some shows where YOU are the star guest.

With just 160 Campers at the event, it is a small event with a Big heart.

Now the facts.

Tickets cost £135 per person for the weekend.

Your ticket includes your evening meals on Friday and Saturday (main course only), a ticket to our Costume Ball on Sunday and a Jamboree Essentials Knapsack which contains a neckchief, woggle, Scout Handbook and a variety of items that you will need for completely those all important activity badges.

Accommodation is not included, but we do have some options available. We have two hotels and a lawn upon which you can actually camp if you so choose.

Location - Llamedos Holiday Camp is located at The Diplomat Hotel in Llanelli, Wales. Yes we are in "Llamedos" !

Dates - Fri 1st March - Sun 3rd March 2024 - We run until Midnight on the Sunday and you really wouldn't want to miss our infamous Costume Ball.

Tickets sell quickly - we do operate a waiting list in case someone wishes to sell their ticket on at a later date (all resales MUST be done via our system or we invalidate the ticket).

RWBY OC request:

Chang'e and Houyi.

I actually already have characters based off these two, but I'm too lazy to search through my docs for 'em so let me try here.

Both Faunus (Hare & Raven respectively), partners and lovers of course.

Houyi's colours are gold & red of course, and she's dressed like a traditional chinese archer. Fights with a bow & arrow that shifts into a jian called Three Legged Crow. Semblance is called Mock Sun and essentially duplicates strikes. A single arrow becomes a rain, a single punch becomes a flurry of blows, and a single sword stroke becomes a bladed whirlwind.

Chang'e is garbed in silver and teal, dressed what I can only describe in D&D rogue clothing. His weapons are twin butterfly swords shift into climbing hooks and revolvers called the Gibbous Reapers. Semblance is Night Phase, invisibility that's weakest in midday, closer to chameleon style camouflage, and strong enough at midnight to allow him to phase through different surfaces.

If you could make a RWBY weapon of your own, what would it be?

You do realize I make OCs as a hobby? I design characters as a passion. I am gifted in the art of creation.

So, starting this off we have “The Problem Solver” named for the idiom “if all you’ve gots a hammer, every problem looks like a nail”. This is a weapon created for my OC Russet Vulcan who is famously based off of the Greek god Hephaestus, a cripple. As such, the weapon is a giant warhammer composed of a walking crutch that locks into toolbox, which also then can fold and extend together into a dust-powered rail gun.

Next up are the Frost and Flame Ravagers, the iconic weapons of my OC Fenris Silbern, who is inspired by the Fenris wolf. His weapons are a pair of collapsible axes that can snap together to become a double-headed greataxe, or fold up to become two bolt guns. As the names suggest, one is powered by Ice Dust, the other by Fire Dust, and they are loosely inspired by Hati and Skoll, the wolf children of Fenris that eat the moon and sun respectively.

We also have Ebony and Pitch, the weapons of my lesser-used OC Jett Blythe, who is inspired by the Black Death and the specter of the Black Knight. As a medieval-themed character, his weapons Ebony and Pitch are a sword and shield combo, with the sword locking into a sheath within the shield, which then allows it to extend and become a greataxe.

Finally on our list we have Snickersnack, wielded by one Midnight “Madds” Maddison, a Mad Hatter allusion. Snickersnack, named for the sound the Vorpal Sword famously makes when it strikes down the Jabberwock, is an enormous pair of steel scissors that can be separated and wielded as longswords. The blades can then fold back, and become bolt guns.

Hi! What are your top 5 RWBY allusions and why? Also, is there some allusions you would like to see explored in the future or with some original character? Thank you for your posts!

In terms of allusions and significance:

Penny. I think her Pinocchio "real girl" are is poignant and beautiful, if tragic. It really digs to the core of what it means to be human, which is the heart ofRWBY's themes.

Cinder. I love the twist where Cinderella is a villain, and I genuinely think "Midnight" is one of RWBY's best episodes. The slipper motif with Emerald and Mercury is also brilliantly executed.

Weiss. Snow White as the huntress and the prince and the princess all at once? Delightful.

Ruby + Weiss. Yes, another one. I'm not sure how often this is discussed, but Ruby and Weiss as partners are an allusion to "Snow White and Rose Red," another Grimm fairy tale (the Snow White is not the same as the other one, but RWBY definitely draws from this tale as well). The bear in the story who is actually a gold knight underneath his disguise is probably Jaune.

This one remains to be seen. I do like Blake's, but her arc has some parts that could have been better. I also like Pyrrha's. In terms of potential, though, I think Ruby's (Red Riding Hood) and Mercury's have the most potential to make it onto this list. The clues we have so far look exciting.

As for things I'd like to see... hm. I would kind of like to see "The Little Mermaid," although Penny can also be seen as an allusion to her if you look at her arc :''') Or an allusion to the Cupid/Psyche a la "East of the Sun and West of the Moon."
