because some of the girls find it a bit too weird flirting with a taken man

and he pouted about it for a while, but also knows that as flirty as he does get with his guests

but after the club find out, they urge him to be more involved in this future marriage

will start hanging out with you more often and being a little more talkative at family dinners

he won't be affectionate with you past a simple kiss on the back of your hand

when he starts getting more involved in his father's company

taking over the company

he will open up a lot more to you because you were there and supported the journey even though you didn't really know him

it's a long journey, but it's worth it eventually

nothing in your relationship changed, because the people don't need to know of the business arrangement

haruhi is very much like

but people never knew you were dating it the first place

only the host club knew and you had to duct tape tamaki's mouth shut

but since neither of you were out as a couple, you saw no need to tell people

and it was much easier to keep it under wraps

the host club did throw an engagement party for you guys though

there was no escaping that one

but it wasn't on campus grounds where someone could see

overall, pretty happy you didn't have to fight to marry the person you love

hides it because of the whole brotherly love thing

also because it'd be a funny prank to suddenly be married

what a whacky turn of events

even then, people would probably think he was joking if he said he was engaged

kyoya would be the one to tell the people (tamaki) that it isn't a joke

hikaru isn't really a fan of this arranged business marriage thing, but he's also not too fussed

just another person to prank-

he started to appreciate you more when you first told him apart from kaoru though

and then you did it again

and again

and every time since then

maybe getting married to you wasn't such a bad idea...

after the base getting to know each other, it's a much easier time bonding

because he knows you're not an asshole for sure

and you're not putting up with his shit, so he might as well get on your good side, i guess-

less likely to hide it than hikaru

but he's not gonna be overly vocal about it

because of the brotherly love gimmick-

that's a big jump for everyone, especially tamaki

tamaki would lose his mind if he ever found out one of the shady twins was engaged

but kaoru will show you hints of affection

initially as teasing, but after getting to know you a bit more outside of business affairs, it becomes more genuine

still not massively open about it though

a lil affectionate noogie or arm around your shoulders

he won't pretend like he doesn't know you or that you guys aren't together to some extent

but he's not gonna go parading that around

would be kind enough to tell you about the brotherly love gimmick though

so you don't call off this engagement because you think he's genuinely romantically and sexually involved with his twin

when you first told him apart from hikaru, he was in love-

will get more serious if any girl tries to push that boundary, especially if you're nearby

is constantly asking you to show off your ring to people

holds that hand all the time as well, because he can feel the ring

and be content knowing that he gets to marry you

tamaki screamed and probably broke the windows because how could he not know???

mori is probably a little bit more talkative in public when you're around

probably won't even host anymore, he'd quit once you got engaged, even if you said he could keep doing it

now he's just a honey bodyguard

he'll still talk to the girls if they ask him questions, but he wants them to know that he's off limits

does so many little favors for you, you're so spoilt (he doesn't go overboard)

unless someone outright asks him though, he won't disclose that you're to be wed

being in a relationship is serious enough in his eyes, and this was technically supposed to be business stuff anyway

- Tamaki had always thought you were gorgeous, for a commoner

- You and him were in the same class together, he sat behind you, occasionally passing notes to get some answers he missed

- Overtime you two would just pass notes to talk, and that turned into walking out of class together; then to class together

- Eventually you and Tamaki began to date, but it had to be kept a secret ofc; if word got out that the prince of the school was dating someone in the school, it could end badly

(by badly i mean everyone will think you’re with him for fame)

- Secretly dating Tamaki means sneaking out of class and making out in the club room

- Or hanging out in the hedge maze until the school bell rang for the second time

- Sometimes when you two would sneak out of class to make out, it would get pretty heated

(meaning he’d occasionally run a hand under your bra, sometimes down your uniform skirt)

- Kyoya had been doing his research on you for sometime now, noting down your likes and dislikes, etc

- When he finally approached you it was after school in the garden where you normally read; he gave you a single white rose he found

- You two actual had a lot in common, like blood type; books and food tastes. He asked you on a date at your favorite restaurant

(which so happens to be his favorite restaurant too)

- On the date you two would read each other, profile each other; he’d even go as far as saying that you’ve liked him for a while now; and he wasn’t wrong

- After the date he’d call a limo to pick you two up, driving to your house first he walked you up to the front door and kissed your hand

- Making sure you went inside safely he’d wave you off from the car as he noticed you staring from a window; you waved back, he left you with a slight smile

- Dating Kyoya Ootori means having large areas to hang out alone together; mostly his family’s private beach or water park

(to make out ofc, and occasionally he’d go down on you)

- This was always one sided, thus Honey reminded you of your younger brother

- Every time he’d ask if you’d wanna eat sweets with him, you’d say yes; but he’d always bring up his romantic feelings towards you; which sorta ruined your appetite

- Don’t get him wrong he means well, but the fact that he is 17 and loves the same things as your younger brother a bit much

(no offense ofc but it could be weird if you dated him)

- He’d constantly give you bouquets of your favorite flowers though, and whenever he needed help in a class you’d help him

- Not to mention if anyone tried to physically hurt you, he’d be there to fight for you

- And anyways you two had sweets without him bring up his feelings again

𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑡𝑜𝑖𝑐 𝑇𝑦𝑝𝑒： 𝑇𝑎𝑘𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑖 𝑀𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑜𝑧𝑢𝑘𝑎 “𝑀𝑜𝑟𝑖“

- Morinozuka was never the talkative type of guy, he’s always quiet unless he is spoken to

(which he almost always nods or makes a reassuring sound that indicates he understands)

- He needed a tutor for a specific class and you were a voluntary student; sessions began after school in the library; you brought him tea on the first day

- Quickly Mori grew romantic feelings towards you but never knew how to express them; when he did it was quick and simple he simply spoke “I like you.” and left you to do the rest

- But when you two began dating, he’d talk a little more; asking how your day went or if you wanted to hang out

- Things in the relationship moved fast, but not too fast; although the both of you kissed on rare occasions you and him would get really shy over small things like eating in front of each other

- That quickly went away though and you two became more and more comfortable ever since Mori dropped condiments on his uniform, and how you fell out of your chair one time in class

- The closer you and Mori grew he’d become more confident like pinning you down by your wrists anytime you two made out

(and on some occasions he’d find his fingers inside you)

𝑂𝑛𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 “𝐿𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑙𝑒 𝐷𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑙“ 𝑇𝑦𝑝𝑒𝑠： 𝐾𝑎𝑜𝑟𝑢 𝐻𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑖𝑛

- Kaoru Hitachiin quickly knew he had feelings for you (his classmate) and unlike his twin brother he acknowledges it

- He’s a host so ofc he began to gift you followers before school, and even started to walk to school with you instead of taking his limo

- The more you got to know him the more your tiny crush grew; and when you two began to date he’d gift you even more gifts

(or surprises like going out for ice cream after school)

- When the two of you did go out; it was usually somewhere small in town like an ice cream shop or a restaurant you really liked there

- But when he took you shopping there wasn’t a budget he’d always tell you to get what you want, but ofc like the good girlfriend you are, you got stuff that was at a good price and never went over $100

- At school he didn’t really care if anyone saw you two together, as long as you two were happy that is all that matters to him

- Sometimes when the two of you were alone in the club room he’d go down on you on the couch

- Unlike his twin brother, Hikaru is very bold in a relationship; he never told you how he felt because he was always in denial to himself

- So ofc it forced you to make the first move, and surprisingly he wasn’t too scared of the romance he had felt with you, and once he was more comfortable with himself he was all out

- Buying you dresses or cute clothes he knew you’d like, he’s a gift giver

(something he shares with his brother)

- And also he is a HUGE fan of pda, it’s his thing; either putting an arm around you in school or a kiss on the forehead as you walked into your class

- Also holding hands is an absolute MUST for him, he at least has to be touching you at all times in some kind of way

- Like holding your hand under a table or squeezing your pinky, or even having a hand on your thigh

- Speaking of thighs, he loves to give you hickeys on them; and in between them

- Haruhi didn’t completely know she had feelings for you, but she knew you were special to her

- So (like with Hikaru) you had to make the first move, and you explained to her that she feels the same way; you’ve always noticed the way she’s look at you

- The first week of dating Haruhi was hesitant to touch you, she thought it might make you uncomfortable but she got some reassurance when you first held her hand at school

- Ofc a few people were angry that you and Haruhi were together but you two didn’t care, in fact the both of you would make it even more known

(not to the extent though)

- Small things like kisses on cheeks, or leaning on each other in the garden as you read a book or while she studied

- And definitely laughing at people who would talk abt how annoying you two would be by making it public

- Haruhi isn’t really the type to do anything spicy or freaky but she’d have these thoughts that made her feel a little guilty and whenever you asked her what she’d be thnking abt she’d be so quick to say nothing and blush

You can count the number of times you have felt such unbridled mortification on one hand. One was when you were playing the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz showcase during your elementary school talent show and, just as you got on the stage, could not for the life of you stop the unrelenting hiccups out of performance anxiety. Or, that one time in middle school, when you spilled all of your half-digested breakfast on the shoes of that one senior guy you had a crush on because you had a bad stomach flu.

This, you internally scream at yourself, is probably the most dread you have felt in all your adult years.

The receipt you can not avert your eyes from shakes between the tips of your index finger and thumb. Is it your hand that is shaking? You really can’t tell. Something bitter twists in your chest that makes you repeat as you squint your eyes at Hoseok. “What the fuck?!”

He looks at you stunned, but definitely not unprepared. He sighs deeply as he tries to console you, “I am here to help you with any concerns you might have.”

You snap your head to look at the rest of the people in the Cafe- Club- whatever this place is. There are various degrees of horrified looks on the faces of the other- are they supposed to be patrons or customers or-? God this is so confusing. You let out the longest sigh and your other hand, the one without that malignant piece of paper, rubs across your face.

“There is no way in hell I am paying this.” you declare, looking right back at Hoseok. Just minutes ago you would have never thought of him as someone you’d have talked to in this agitated manner but also minutes ago, he wasn’t a person who claimed you owed his establishment all your family assets and then some.

There is a loud scraping of a chair behind you and before you can turn to see who it is, Seokjin’s gentle voice is carrying through the room. “I am deeply apologetic to our guests tonight but due to unforeseen circumstances, the club will reschedule your time with the hosts at a later date. Kindly grant us an excuse this once.”

There are murmurs and hushed whispers behind you. The obnoxious sound of various people shuffling footsteps toward the exit amidst the awkward silence that had followed your outburst is acting as the fuel to the simmering rage in your chest. You feel more than see the icy glares people direct at you for ruining what was probably supposed to be a night of entertainment and good company for them. The thought makes you shudder as embarrassment crawls up your spine. You fix your gaze on your tapping shoe against the plush carpet and cross your arms in front of your chest.

“Now,” Seokjin continues once it is only you and the other hosts remaining, “What might be the issue, beautiful?”

You inhale deeply before you turn to him, expecting him to look irritated by you. Instead, his eyes are full of mirth as he lifts an amused eyebrow at you. His hands rest on the table in front of him, palms down as he leans his tall frame forward. It irks you.

“I said I am not paying that ridiculous amount for a coffee I did not even finish. You can not make me.”

Seokjin’s lips form a small o shape as he pretends to sincerely consider your words. “It is not the coffee you are paying for though, darling. That is complimentary.” He says it like it is obvious. You feel a familiar twitch in your temple. “You are paying for the additional services you have utilized this evening.”

You can feel yourself seething but for the sake of not becoming liable to any property damage, you reign your fury. “I will do no such thing. I had no idea what kind of an establishment this is.”

“We keep that in mind.” Taehyung intervenes, his dark brown eyes sparkling at you intently. “Besides the several, and might I remind you, very prominently displayed boards with our club trademark, the first visits to the guests are usually not chargeable, a free trial if you will.”

“You, however, took four of us with you, to your apartment no less, and Namjoon Hyung even did locksmithing for you.” Jungkook adds from where he is standing next to Taehyung. He smirks at you, and it takes everything in you from banging your fist on the nearest table.

“He offered!” You argue, wincing at the sound of your voice.

“He is supposed to. Accepting is completely beholden to you.” Seokjin adds with a tilt of his head to the left that you can only assume to be satirizing. “The club hosts offer services to the guests and if they choose to accept them, they are liable to the charges.” he says, shrugging those ridiculously broad shoulders of his nonchalantly.

You scoff at this, your glare now directed at Namjoon, who to his credit looks like a big puppy that has been reprimanded by his owner for bringing the newspaper in the mornings, only slightly covered in drool.

Your shoulders slump in defeat. They are not wrong, you think. When you enter a place that offers you any kind of service, and you make use of said service, you are, as a consumer obliged to pay the fee for that service. “I can not pay that amount. I do not have that kind of money.” At this, the room falls into silence. God, these hosts must earn so much that the concept of living paycheque to paycheque must be alienating to them.

After what seemed like an eternity, when it was probably only six minutes tops, Jimin who had been sitting on his chair quite comfortably so far takes an exaggerated inhale before intoning, “Well, we might be able to offer you something to help with that.”

You look at him sheepishly and he continues, “If you can not pay us in terms of funds, pay us in service.”

What the hell is that even supposed to mean? Is this like some sort of hidden camera prank? Are Pauly and Vinny about to come burst down the doors as a cameraman pushes his gigantic camcorder in your face yelling “You just got MTV pranked!”

Your bewildered expression must have been too obvious because Jimin adds “I am serious. Work for us.”

Now you are even more confused. Work for them? As an employee? You can not be a host. You have a day job. A job that feels like going through the depths of hell every day, but a job nonetheless. Your tongue twists in your mouth as you try to swallow saliva down your dry throat. “What does that mean?”

“You said you worked at LinkSol, right? By Hwan Sana?” Jimin asks and it's as if he just talked about Voldemort judging by the dramatic gasp from Seokjin’s lips and his hand on his chest, clutching pearls. “You should come work for us, as our manager. Trust me, you’d be doing yourself a favor too.”

“That’s your solution? Servitude compulsory labor?” you resign. “Do you think we are in the 17th century?” Change is not a friend to you. Yes, your job is torture but you’ve grown accustomed to the routine. This is asking a lot of you.

“Why, you got something better?” he counters. “We can not waive off your fee, you can not pay it to us. We have an open position and you are at a shitty job. The way I see it, there are no losing parties.”

“You will get to work stable hours that are open to negotiation. We will pay you a salary, also negotiable, from which we will deduct a monthly interest that will serve as your payment.” Jimin pulls out his phone and taps away for a few seconds before humming to himself and adding, “It will take you about 18 months to pay off everything and then you are free to discuss the position as you wish.”

18 months? That does not seem like enough time to pay off everything, does it? Exactly how much are they planning to give you as a salary? Before you can ask, you bite your tongue, wise words from your mother at your college graduation dinner resounding in your head, “Never let an employer know you were expecting less payment for your hard work than what they offered you. They must recognize some worth in you that you may be oblivious to.”

You furrow your eyebrows, trying to paint the most corporate expression on your face as you return a single nod toward Jimin. “That seems reasonable, but I would like to discuss everything from the profile and my responsibilities openly before deciding.” Jimin presses his thick lips in a flat line, nodding his agreement.

“Of course, take your time. We can set up a formal meeting anytime you want this week,” he informs.

“And,” you interrupt, suddenly remembering how you got yourself in this position in the first place, “I want it all in writing. No more errors in intentions.”

There is a cough from behind you by Yoongi which sounds suspiciously like a chocked back chuckle. Jimin too bites the inside of his cheek, eyelashes fluttering as he nods again. “We will make sure.”

“Now that all that is over can we please just have something to eat Hobi Hyung? I am starving here.” Jungkook sighs dramatically. “And you, come sit with us, we are not working anymore and I know you are exhausted so you might as well eat now.”

You eye him suspiciously. The other boys all walk up to his table as Namjoon and Hoseok go back toward the kitchen. Even though you trudge over to his table, you can’t help but snark at him, “Would this not be added to my debt to you?”

“Fiesty.” he grins and pulls out a chair for you. “And no. Like I said, we are off work so consider this just a dinner with your future colleagues.”

You hum dejectedly as you sit at the table with your arms still crossed over your chest. This evening has been a year’s worth of events for you and you seriously can not keep your head up anymore. So you lay your head on the soft white satin tablecloth and groan mutely to yourself.

“It won’t be that bad working here, pretty girl. You’ll see.” Taehyung says softly from where he sits beside you. You raise your head at him, without straightening your back completely, and are surprised to find him looking at you with no more amusement, just what seems like empathy. Your heart betrays you by fluttering. Why do all of them have to be so attractive? It would be so easy to hate them right now if that wasn’t going on. Life is so unfair.

Seokjin’s hand rests on your shoulder giving it a slight squeeze. “You are so knackered. What were they making you do at LinkSol?”

It is a rhetorical question, you know that, but you’d just love to dump all of your exhausting work stories on someone if only you had the energy to do that. So you just whine noncommittally and put a pin on telling those stories some other day. After all, they are going to be your “colleagues” as they said. Seokjin takes your palm in his and gently starts to massage your hand. His large hand engulfs yours as his thumbs press into the center of your palm. You give him a confused stare.

“What?” he questions softly.

“What are you doing?” you ask, pointing your nose down to where he is still caressing your hand.

“What does it look like I am doing? I am helping you.” he says it like it is the most obvious thing you could have asked him.

“Don’t think so deeply about it, sweetheart,” Jungkook says as he grins softly at you, “Hyung has a habit of doing things like that. Just let it be, he means no harm.”

“Yeah, but he is annoying as hell.” Taehyung chips in.

This makes a scowl appear on Seokjin’s face. “I taught you better than that, you shameless brat.”

“You didn’t teach me shit.” Taehyung gruffs, although he does seem to quiet down after that.

Jimins rolls his eyes at the both of them and diverts his attention back on you. “I have a better question. I get it about Jin Hyung, he gives off that vibe,” which you think is a slight hidden in the guise of a statement towards Seokjin, “but you didn’t think that we were acting… unusually, around you?”

To be honest, yes. It was definitely strange how these incredibly attractive men were the embodiment of cats with a ball of yarn with you, but that is the point. You were so distracted by the way they looked and how they were very obviously flirting with you that you never even questioned why. You weren’t going to tell them that though. How flustering that idea is, makes a sheen of sweat break out on your hairline. “N-no. I didn’t think of it as anything out of the ordinary.”

It seems like you picked the wrong choice because an impish grin curves along Jimin’s lips as his eyes linger on yours. “So it is a normal occurrence for you. People just flirt with you wherever you go?”

When he puts it like that, it makes your cheeks burn. It is further compounded by Taehyung who admonishes Jimin, “C’mon, Hyung! Stop teasing the poor girl.” He gives you a smirk and a dramatic once-over, before adding “I mean look at her. I wouldn’t dream otherwise”

The way his gaze is suddenly heated makes you choke on your own spit a little. Your heart stutters in your ribcage. Even Yoongi who has been decidedly quiet this entire time leans forward on the table from across you. “Cute.” he mutters, his sharp eyes boring straight into you.

Jimin sighs a deep breath. He plays with the button on the cuff of his shirt as he looks down at the table, “I am not questioning it. I just don’t think I like the idea too much.”

What was that about being “off work”? Aren’t they supposed to not be this charming anymore? Then why are they so intent on making you feel so bashful?! Before you can put too much thought into the matter, the doors to the kitchen open, and Namjoon and Hoseok carry with them two large trays full of food and coffee. As soon as the trays are placed on the table, Hoseok wraps his arms around you, pressing his chest to the back of your chair.

“I am sorry that this is how things turned out, angel.” he whines and Namjoon gives you a small smile as he takes a seat beside Seokjin, “Look on the bright side though. Now we can share all the sweets we want and play together.” he giggles. You smile gratefully at his optimism.

Maybe it won’t be that bad, you think as Jungkook passes you a plate of sandwiches. They seem like nice people, they are allegedly paying you a much better salary than you get at your job, and if nothing else, at least they are a nicer view instead of the drab walls of your office.

Takashi Morinozuka x fem reader -> crush/early dating stage head-canons (sfw)

honestly, i fuckn hate hcs, but i’m gonna put them out there anyway, since mine are simply better cuz i said so

- Takashi isn’t the type of guy to just go up to a girl and ask her out because he thinks she’s cute or anything, so you would 100% have to start off as friends before he made a move (and even then, you’d probably be waiting a while)

- Probably would not initiate a conversation with you on his own (shocking)

- I could see Honey noticing Takashi’s special interest in a girl (you can make up the reason why, or request and i’ll write for it lmao) and deciding to talk to her, and maybe even invite her to the club

- If he did this with Takashi present, he’d be super nervous(though that wouldn’t be apparent to anyone but Honey), but he’d be secretly grateful that his cousin set him up, cuz lord knows it wouldn’t have happened otherwise

- Once Honey had Takashi’s future wife crush engaged in a conversation, he’d start trying to, not so subtly, gauge whether or not she’s a good fit for Takashi

- If Honey doesn’t like you, then you don’t get to be with Takashi, period.

- If anyone asks at any point during your friendship if Takashi has feelings for you, he’ll either outright deny it or just stay silent, even though it’d be super obvious to anyone who knows him to any capacity

- He would be more engaged in conversations with you than anyone else, MAYBE aside from Honey

- He’d help with anything he thought you may be struggling with (you don’t even have to ask)

- Need help finding something? He’s got you. Pickle jar too hard to open? No problem. Can’t reach something on a high shelf? Well, thank god a certain giant has nothing better to do cuz he was just admiring you anyway

- Once the club catches on, any possible privacy the two of you had is gone. Especially if they can tell the feelings are reciprocated

- Tamaki, the twins, and Honey would all try to get the both of you into situations where you’d be alone together, or they’d talk about how cute you would be together, or how cute your kids would be, etc.

- Even before a relationship begins, Takashi will think it’s disloyal or unfaithful to interact flirt with any other girls, so he would be extra quiet during club hours (unless you’re there 🥰)

- Speaking of relationships, when Takashi does finally ask you out, expect it to be a simple question, such as: “Would you like to get coffee with me tomorrow?” or something similar. He’d probably also do so when you two are completely alone so that the other club members don’t try to trail you on your date

- If the date went well, and he felt like you were interested afterwards, that’s when he’d ask you to be his girlfriend.

- The poor guy’s heart would be pounding out of his chest and he’d be blushing like crazy, which would only get worse when if you said yes

- Once you’re official, any reservations he previously had regarding closeness are gone. He wants to hold your hand and just be near you all the time

- He’s not into the PDA shit, though. It’s not like he’d pull you into a make out sesh in public, but he does like to be near you at all times

- Honey absolutely loves that Takashi found someone he truly cares for, especially since he thinks you’re fun to be around, so he and Takashi can still be close as ever

- The other members (mainly Tamaki) are ecstatic about the relationship as well

- Seeing the strong, silent type all head over heals for you is just too sweet

- Once you start dating, it isn’t long before he wants you over to meet his parents and vice versa

- He doesn’t even see it as a huge step or anything. I mean, of course he wants his family to meet his darling partner

Tamaki Suoh

Before he truly got to know you, he was aware that you were of noble descent (probably because of Kyoya). Your family owned a winery, and a lot of rich families loved to import the wine from your specific winery. Hence why you got all that dough.

However, he also knew of your father’s passing. Since you were the oldest out of you and your younger brother, you inherited the business as well as the money. It also left you with habits of isolation that he tries repeatedly to break through. Eventually, you accept his invitation to the Host Club. After all, ladies like people with tragic backstories.

Eventually, he cracks through your cold exterior and gets to the gentle person that lies underneath. He charmed his way into your heart, so to speak. All the visitors notice the chemistry between the two of you and absolutely eat it up. One of the girls even pushed Tamaki to confess, which he did.

He confessed to you underneath one of the cherry blossom trees. His palms were sweaty and his knees were heavy (there’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti). A huge weight was lifted off of his shoulders when you accepted the rose and placed a kiss on his cheek. He was frozen in shock as blush erupted on his face.

Kyoya Ootori

He was also aware of the family you came from. In fact, he was the one who suggested getting you recruited into the Host Club. You were from a very rich family, and you just became heir to the winery that his parents often order wine from.

Kyoya also knew of your father’s passing, and that’s how you became the heir of your family’s assets. Also, your younger brother was said to be a flirt. Even if that was the case, the Vice President saw more value in you than him. People love to romanticize a single, saddened person who is surrounded by alcohol.

You do eventually join the Host Club, and you both work side-by-side together in running the financial aspect of it all. That’s how you grew closer together, and now we can see Tamaki pushing Kyoya to confess his undying love for you.

He actually takes his advice, and tells you in passing. You weren’t the type to make a big deal out of things, so he figured this wouldn’t be an exception. You nearly dropped the folder you held, had you not been keeping a vice-like grip after he let it slip. You told him that you felt the same way, and he gently pressed a kiss to your temple before getting back to work.

Mitsukuni “Honey” Haninozuka

Let’s be honest, you were probably shocked to see a child-like person running around Ouran Academy looking for sweets. It wasn’t a usual occurrence for you, especially since you had just recently transferred here with your younger brother.

Honey knew about you, but he didn’t know you. When Tamaki gave orders to get you recruited, he tried to use his child-like charm to try and get you to accept. Who can refuse him? Obviously not you, because you agreed.

He has to admit that your routine also worked on him for whatever reason. You would pour the visitors some drinks as you talked about taking care of them, if only they would accept your alcohol-earned money. To set aside all they ever knew and allow you to protect them. He kept getting distracted from work, and Kyoya encouraged him to confess so that he could get back on track.

One day, he hands you a box. When you opened it, you found that it was a cake he made for you. The frosting on top read as follows: “Will You Go Out With Me?” You let a small smile grace your face for a moment before accepting. After all, who can refuse him?

Takashi “Mori” Morinozuka

It was an unusual sight for you, seeing a tall (fine-looking) gentleman escorting a child-looking student around Ouran Academy. You both officially met when you stopped him to ask him for directions to a certain class. Turns out, you both were heading in the same direction.

Tamaki had told the whole Host Club about your known history when he simultaneously ordered them to ask you to join the club. Instead of pulling off any sort of stunt, he just asked you like a freaking normal person. He felt glad that you accepted, but he didn’t show it.

He was secretly happy that you took to being a host so quickly. The host life wasn’t for everyone, after all. In fact, you got the most requests. He grew slightly envious of all your visitors, since you had them hooked onto your sad, ‘lonely’ charm. He didn’t get distracted, but Honey noticed and told him that he should tell you.

He eventually did, with a note. He wasn’t great with words, so a note would be the next best thing for him. It was surprisingly very sweet and romantic. As Eliza from Hamilton said, “He made palaces out of paragraphs”. He let a smile out when you accepted his confession.

Hikaru Hitachiin

Like with Haruhi, he was in a few of your classes. When you were introduced to everyone (as you were a late transfer), you both met each other’s gaze. He quickly looked away, but he knew karma had to get back at him because you were sat right next to him.

When the President of the Host Club voiced his desire to have you join them, he was exasperated. No one would allow him to get you out of his mind, would they? After class, he decided to ask if you would be interested in being a host, and he was surprised when you accepted.

He honestly thought you made a great host. You even charmed a lot of the other hosts, and the visitors… don’t even get me started. Your promises of taking them away and taking care of them really felt like a personal attack for him because it secretly made him swoon. However, he constantly got distracted because of you. Kaoru eventually made him go confess to you.

When he did, he decided to do it in a very unorthodox fashion. He requested you to be his host, and in your private session he told you about his feelings for you. He let out a breath of relief when you accepted his love.

Kaoru Hitachiin

He was also in a few of your classes. He was appointed to show you around Ouran Academy. It was then that he got a text from Tamaki. He explained that he had to go because there was an emergency Host Club meeting.

The next time you both met up with each other, you asked about the Host Club. He gave you the basic introduction, and he remembered that Tamaki had asked him to recruit you. He was absolutely ecstatic when you agreed to become a host.

He also thought you were a great host. Not only did you bring in mountains of revenue, but you also got into his head. You were like a siren, talking to others about your sad story and how you would never leave him them. He started getting distracted, and Hikaru got angry and made him confess to you.

He did it by handing you a rose everyday for a week. When he gave you the 7th rose, you knew what he was up to and accepted his feelings. He wrapped his arms around you in a hug, just happy as happy can be.

– kaito was born as the middle son to one of the wealthiest families in japan. his father, heir to one of the most profitable automotive companies in the world, married his favorite actress after a whirlwind romance that lasted a year. very in love, they had children immediately, and as kaito's father inherited the family company, began their own lives. – they moved to kyoto when his mother decided to quit acting, wanting to be out of the hustle and bustle of tokyo. – as a result, his father was often gone for long periods of time, staying in tokyo for business during the week and coming home for weekends. – kaito has very clearly always lived a life of luxury; everything he had he wanted, and while it didn't spoil him rotten (read: evil), he is very spoiled in the fact that he doesn't want to compromise his way of life. why would he? – being the middle brother meant that kaito didn't really have anything to live up to. he was able to blend into the background, as long as he didn't hurt his family's reputation. and as long as he didn't do that, he could do pretty much everything else he wanted – most of his life has been in a boarding school. when he graduated middle school he left to spain for high school, & decided not to go to college after (he may be smart but boy he is not driven) – decided to be a model because he's hot and it allows him more time to fuel what he likes to do (gym, travel, whatever the hell he has a whim for) – ended up in chile as a pitstop, but after meeting old friends and realizing he actually quite liked it because no one knew who he was in chile, he stayed. it's nice to be able to go out whenever and wherever he wants without worrying about paparazzi waiting for him to screw up

HEADCANONS:

Kyoya didn't stop typing. In fact, he sped up at this time mark, as he properly sorted the budget for the host club. He was supposed to confirm with the club leader for the major purchases but alas...Kyoya let his eyes wander to said leader passed out and drooling against the window as he squeezed his old-Haruhi body pillow. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes as he focused back on his typing. Even as he stayed as focused as possible he couldn't help but let his eyes wander to the right side of the plane: where you were. He admired the way you listlessly watched the clouds and the sea waters below. He wanted to see what kept your attention. So focused on the amorphous tuffs of condensation. That you paid no mind to the loving gaze he was directed toward you. He was aware he wasn't the only one doing so as Mornozuka and Honey were doing the same. Haruhi on the other hand was blankly staring at her book; Kyoya could smell her anger from here which reminded him... there was quite a lot of competition.

Honey. Who was taking pictures of your distracted face, kicking his legs with a grin on his face?

Morinozuka. Who was where Haurhi was sat before the perfectly timed cake cart, watching you with just as much intensity if not more than his cousin.

Haruhi. Who was looking to be silently planning a crime? Tamaki. Who was still asleep and hugging his Haruhi body pillow but was also lovingly mumbling your name?

Kyoya's calculated gaze lingered on the twins. The redheads had a dark look on their faces as their eyes flickered between you and Haruhi. With a sigh, he pushed his glasses higher up on his nose and let out a tired sigh.

He couldn't decide which was worse that so many seemed to be after you or that the sliest of the group were not. He didn't put it past them to be...drastic if they didn't get their way, which Kyoya would prefer to stay out of the way of. But on the other side of the coin, Haruhi was showing a tremendous sense of status when it came to the illusive Serigaki name. One word from her could be a massive blow not only to their family's situation but possibly to their health as well.

There were a lot of rumors about the Serigaki family a story of a not-so-underdog becoming one of the greatest minds of our time. Forging the way through marketing and technology in general the family had already been placed at major footholds in the most prominent industries. It was outrageous how quickly their claim to fame had been and rumors circulated about the way that was done. Guesses range from gangs to prodigies, to sabotage. Most bizarre and oddly enough on the highest ladder there was talk of mind control. While he nor his family were quick to believe such a thing he was advised to move with caution. Instructed to make a good impression, I'm sure it'd be thrilling to do so much more and have your hand in marriage.

Kyoya grounded himself when he realized he stopped typing. Returning to his task he let a tiny smile creep up on his face. This was all too exciting and he was already too invested: his heart being the currency you had in your palms.

He was willing to fight for you. For it isn't often he's felt so willy-nilly about losing his already low position. But if spending a little over a week with you would do this to him he could no doubt guarantee you'd give him any strength he may need.

"We are in the private estate's air space, I ask that you brace yourself as we have arrived."

Anime-Manga Comparisons, episode 18.

This episode’s gonna be a real doozy, since there’s a lot that changes from manga to anime, including cutting out an entire character. I don’t envy the idiot who writes the comparisons series! Haha… fuck.

To start with, the manga cuts to a week before the beginning, to see a martial arts club asking Honey for help, and then we go to present day (from many, many years ago…) to meet Yasuchika! In the anime Haruhi opens the door and is about to enter, but in the manga it’s locked and she’s concerned she’s the first to get there, since we’ve already seen she’s consistently late it’s surprising to her and us.

Chika asks her to call Honey in both, but in the anime he appears from the open door on Mori’s shoulders, and in the manga they appear from down the hall (still on Mori’s shoulders, though) and they start fighting immediately. Anime Haru turns to Mori to stop it, but manga Haru seems too freaked out to ask. Also, the twins do the play-by-play commentary in the manga, but it’s Renge in the anime! They have the same lines, though. Mori calls her Renge-kun, and Honey traps Chika with ninja stars in the manga, and kunai in the anime.

And now here’s the start of the biggest change between the anime and manga: Mori’s little brother Satoshi! He appears right after their fight to scold Chika for skipping out on their club, and goes to his big brother like a cute puppy. He’s a pretty integral part of the story so I was really shocked when I first found out he existed, and I’m still not sure why he isn’t in the anime. I guess he was cut for time.

Satoshi’s whole thing is that he’s basically Mori to Chika’s Honey, but a lot more bubbly and talkative, and less forgiving of him when he says the wrong thing. He’s constantly scolding him for being rude to the upperclassmen. He’s also super proud of Mori and constantly complimenting him. The twins pour hot sauce in his tea (a semi running gag that appears again in another episode.) and he’s not at all phased by it.

So, the reason why Chika came to the club in the manga (aside from for a fight) was also to question him on joining the karate club in a training session and to say he has no right to represent their family because he chose to do what he wanted when he joined the host club. In the anime, it’s mostly the same, minus the training session. He comes in to say Honey sucks for being happy and then bolts so Tamaki can get the ball rolling on fixing someone else’s family issues instead of his own. In the manga Satoshi hits Chika over the head and scolds him, and Chika cries and runs off, prompting Satoshi to chase him down. Not having Satoshi in the anime honestly gives us a very different view of Chika. We don’t see that he’s sensitive, too.

When Haru questions why he’d quit the host club in the anime, Tamaki gets offended at how she words it and then mopes when she says their club is less reputable, but in the manga we just get the twins flanking her to give her backstory. The flashback plays out the same, though Tamaki feels the need to interject and get some more screen time in the anime.The fan club girls are super cute and I love them all. I also love that the twins cry over such a dumb story. Manga Haruhi says the wall is more of a curb here, a callback to last episode where she figured there’s always a wall between her and the hosts.

Honey and Tamaki’s meeting scene plays out the same, though Honey drools a lot in the manga, and Tamaki’s lines are the same in both, but in the anime he does a weird moonwalk to leave so I’m docking points from him. The twins call this “relentless courting”, which is hilarious. He did that with everyone, minus Mori. A serial courter.

In the anime we get a scene where Honey talks to his dad and they fight. (lovingly) Honey sends his dad to the hospital in a full body cast. (also lovingly) This doesn’t happen in the manga, and we don’t meet Yorihisa (or Akira Morinozuka) for real until later on.

The anime has this running gag of Honey being a fucking superweapon, but it’s more realistic in the manga. He’s just really good at fighting.

In the anime, it’s, of course, Tamaki who wants the club to help out and get the brothers to reconcile, but in the manga it’s an operation spearheaded by the twins. We also see Satoshi tell Chika to apologise to his brother, and Chika refuses.

In episode 30 of the manga this arc continues, we see Chika in his class, at first he refuses to let someone copy his homework, but when his classmates start talking about his older brother in comparison he lets them copy as long as they never mention his brother in front of him again. Then we see him in the dojo being fawned over by the girls. In the manga they have different dresses on, so I assume that’s the middle school outfit, but the anime has them in the yellow highschool dresses, I think that might be an oversight or error. When Chika yells at his class, Satoshi returns to berate him. With a shinai. He says he’s correcting his character.

We also see Tamaki, the twins, Haruhi, and Kyoya in the window in both, but in the manga they get silly headbands (minus Kyoya), and in the anime they foreshadow Kyoya’s future episode by having Kaoru point in his direction while talking about Chika’s sibling rivalry. I’ve pointed this out before, but I’m doing it again because it was very smart of me to notice it. After the twins point out the conflict they immediately fuck off because they thought it would be more interesting than just emotions and a brother complex. Manga Haru calls them horrible, and she’s so right to say it. The twins make up theories about Chika thinking Honey is an alien, or that he’s jealous about Honey monopolising Mori’s friendship, and then showing a doctored photo of the club being happy, which Haruhi knows is obviously doctored. (because Kyoya can’t smile, legally or physically)

Honey says he’s happy as long as Chika is growing up well, even if he hates him, and he spaces out and starts floating away so the others say random down to earth words to bring him back down. The twins say fibre optics and computer virus, and Haruhi says monthly rent hike and Tamaki gets concerned for her. Then Chika comes in to immediately try kicking him. Anime Chika is blocked by Honey (and scares the twins and Tamaki shitless) and manga Chika is blocked by Satoshi attacking him. Honey rushes to help Chika when he falls by using his bunny as a cushion, and Chika kicks him off into the stratosphere. He ends up in the infirmary with a light concussion. Sometimes I put my back out by sitting weird.

Chika is upset, but less about Honey being hurt and more about his entire gimmick. He calls Honey an alien (the twins high five because they were right) and he goes on a rant about how fucking weird the guy is. The cake scene happens in both, too, and the hosts actually start agreeing with Chika. Satoshi has to hold him while he calms down. He starts explaining that he wears glasses for a reason, Tamaki jumps in to say it’s because he wants to look less like his brother, and Chika clarifies that no, it’s because his vision is blurry and he literally can’t see him. Satoshi listens to this whole rant and then calls him neurotic, and then Kyoya calls him insensitive. Pot calling kettle again from this man.

Their fight plays out the same in both, and Mori gets plenty of lines and screen time. Until Honey wins and he loses all hope. Tamaki and Satoshi comfort him in the manga, and the twins join Tamaki in the anime. Kyoya just stands there in the background because he’s contractually obligated to be there. Haruhi says Honey is a dreadful person, and in the anime we see Honey sitting on the roof thinking about Tamaki’s words, and it ends, but in the manga we get a final scene of him complimenting Chika and Chika crying and running off, showing that they’re actually a lot more similar. And of course we see Chika and Satoshi later and find out it’s true, but we never see Chika again in the anime. He’s like a villain of the week.

Episode eighteen… what a dreadful episode!
