“...oi, (y/n), wake up.” samon felt like he was being challenged. he doesn’t know by who; God, maybe? if there was a higher power, it was definitely testing him right now.

the only reason he had ventured over into your building was because he’d wanted to show you the stars. the sky was particularly clear that night, and ever since you were children, you had always loved to see the stars. in fact, it was one of the reasons that despite working in a prison in the middle of nowhere, you enjoyed your job.

however, when he’d walked into your small office, you were fast asleep on top of a rather tall stack of papers, completely knocked out. the sight hadn’t surprised him, since it was not an unknown fact that you always tended to slack off when it came to paperwork, (he hadn’t realized it had gotten this bad, but he supposes that it makes sense).

he’d gone to go wake you up and tell you, let’s take a break and go look at the stars for a bit, but when he’d gotten closer, he’d heard something that he was most definitely not supposed to hear.

“samon…” you had mumbled, freezing him in his tracks.

now, what was he supposed to do?

hearing you utter his name in such a way had gripped his heart in a certain way, and now he wasn’t sure what the hell he was supposed to do next. ignore it and walk away? wake you up and confront you? ignore it and wake you up anyway?

“gah!”

“GAH!”

it seemed the choice had been made for him.

“samon?! what’re you doing here?! why were you just standing there? you scared the hell out of me…” you exclaimed, clutching your chest to slow down your heart.

“i just came to tell you the sky looks good right now. and i was standing there ‘cause i was about to wake you up…” he’d decided to take the cool and casual route at the moment, even though you’d caught him extremely off guard. “the clouds are all gone so i figured you would want to see it.”

“oh, that actually all checks out. i was gonna call you a freak ‘cause you were watching me sleep, haha.” you laughed, standing up from your chair and stretching. “there’s no way i’m gonna be able to submit all this paperwork to warden hyakushiki by tomorrow, so i might as well! let’s go!” as you looped your arm around samon’s and started walking to the balcony, his thoughts began to go wild.

he’d never really spent too much time thinking about his feelings, especially towards you; he was always focusing on his work and his prisoners. although they were still prisoners and he was still a guard, he’d grown fond of them, (though he would never admit this out loud to them) and helped them with things they brought to him. his little rivalry with hajime was also included with work, and because of this diligence, he never really allowed himself to even think of something aside from it.

with you though, he found himself thinking less about work and more about normal things. normal things that a twenty-year old might think about, like having a girlfriend and doing things he enjoyed with her. he could teach her all about how to garden and the different kinds of plants and what you can do with them, and he could even train with her.

except, in these fantasies, it wasn’t a random woman. it was you.

and that was something that made him a little bit scared.

now, samon gokuu is not a man to get scared and run away easily, and though he wasn’t running away from you, he was definitely a little scared. not because you’re scary, (at all) but wholly because it was something strange and unknown, and he had no clue what indulging his feelings would be like. he supposes it wouldn’t be bad though. being with you.

your arm untangled from his as you two reached the balcony, the cool air of the night feeling refreshing. you walked up to the railing, leaning against it as you stared at the stars.

“ahh, you were right; it’s so beautiful tonight.” you said, a warm smile on your face as you looked back at him. the slight breeze in the night lifted your hair a bit, framing your face damn near perfectly.

you were beautiful.

“yeah, um…it really is.” he managed to get out, feeling a little bit too entranced by you. his supposed best friend. he almost felt guilty for whatever he was feeling, but at the same time, he wants to be able to imagine having a future with you.

as he joined you at the railing, you scooted a little closer to him, beaming up at him with such a joyful expression that it squeezed his heart just a bit, (it really just skipped a beat, he just didn’t want to say it).

he keeps a small hope in his heart that one day, maybe, these same stars would look down on you and him as lovers. for now though? he’s content just being by your side.

Hey! I noticed your pinned post is that you're taking Nanbaka requests. I hope I'm not too late to find you! If I am, I apologize for the bother.

But I was wondering if you could do an Enki x Reader? Idc what you do with it. There's nothing on him so I'd be happy with anything.

As for Y/n. Can they be referred to as They/Them? I'm pretty sure you said you'd do that in your pinned post? But I'm not fully sure though-

As an Enki fan I do think that there is surprisingly very little about him. I mean, he's an absolute giant! You are right that I do they/them readers as well, and this ask wasn't a bother, i'll admit I had fun writing this and I'm sorry it took so long. And I'm sorry its so short!

Enki was their superior, or at least was their superior back in another prison. A different prison than Nanba.

Y/n didn't exactly take care of themselves well to the concern and worry of the giant monkey man. So, that's how he started to become friends with them. It wasn't the only reason, of course. They were kind and passionate, and he liked helping them garden when he could.

Currently he was seat at a table out in the garden of their home. Enki's hands engulfed the tea cup he was drinking out of, his body was larger than the chair he was sitting. Y/n had forgotten all about the cookies they had made in anticipation for Enki's visit. He was going to work at Nanba now, following where his younger brother and an inmate were going. It was weird, but they weren't going to question it.

"I am so sorry!" Y/n laughed awkwardly, bringing out a tray of chocolate chip cookies.

"No, you don't need to apologize."

"I completely forget to take these out before you got here, I made them for you!"

Enki was silent, looking down at the tea cup in his hand. His face slightly flushed.

"I didn't actually know what type of cookies you liked, so I went with plain chocolate chip you know." Y/n shrugged, sitting down and pouring themselves a cup of tea finally.

"Thank you..."

No one really showed Enki this type of generosity or kindness, mostly because he had lived up on a mountain for a while. Most people usually feared him because of his height and his family name, but it was a breath of fresh air for someone to look at him like another person.

"You know, I'm going to miss you."

"There is always visitation hours." Enki took a sip from the very small tea cup, well, instead of a sip he drank the whole thing in one go.

Y/n was silent, staring into their teacup.

"There is another option."

"I'm not going to work in a prison that I don't even know the location of. I don't even think I could visit if I don't know where it is."

Enki was silent this time. Looking out at all the flowers.

"What is your favorite type of flower?" He was changing the topic.

"Oh, well... I don't... Lillies?"

"I think you're pretty like lillies."

"Wait, what?"

"What?"

"Enki!"

Qi was jealous, jealous at who is a funny story.

You became friends with the other inmates soon after you transferred from the women’s prison but you usually stay with qi, upa, and liang. You met qi and them when they were with hachiman, you were one of the females that worked as an assassin, since some female have more flexibility and could use seduction on their targets.

(Sorry if y’all are uncomfortable reading this, it’s the only thing I could think of 😅😥😭.)

And not to long after you fell in love with qi, of course that brought the questions from upa and liang.

Anyway, the reason why qi is jealous is because you get to hold the cactus while he couldn’t! He’s not mad at you but it sucks not being able to hold the cacti without having to hold its owner, which is upa!

Now what better way to show that you’re jealous to your spouse is to ignore them!

It wasn’t effective.

Reason why is because of how (Y/n) got qi to stop ignoring him which is getting him his own cactus! It took a lot of asking from samon but she did it! She got him the cacti for their (n) anniversary!

To say qi was surprised was an understatement, he literally cried tears of joy when getting his own cacti that he can care and use, though he sadly couldn’t get (Y/n) anything as they’re in prison but she said that it was fine and that all she asks for is cuddles! I mean what could go wrong with cuddling.

Unless it got a little spicy when cuddling. Yea the other prisoners couldn’t get any sleep that night…

(A/n: so I tried my best to this and hope y’all like it! Also I got my friend into this so I wouldn’t be alone and she loves the anime just as much as I do! So I added another fan for y’all lol. I could’ve made this angst but i though of this idea to make it funny.)

Hello, hello, my lovelies! Since I've gotten zero bites for asks for my other non-KHR/K fandoms, I'm going to host a little special event before my box reopens (after I finish writing fic and have posts done for all my fandoms) and I have another big event! So, this is how it's going to work!

I have exactly 42 fandoms, if I'm counting right. Below you'll find all 42 fandoms listed. Under those fandoms, you'll find a list of 42 AU's. I'll accept 1 request per fandom and one request per AU. For example, if someone requests KHR and mermaids, for example, I'll cross out both KHR and Mermaids and neither the fandom nor the AU can be requested for anymore. Who are we?

We are two weebs that really like dragons, so that's the theme we went with. The two of us have known each other for almost six years now. (As of 2022)

Our Rules are absolute, and you need to read them. We don't accept the "but i didn't read the..." TOO BAD

Rules

1) This is an LGBTQ+ friendly place. No matter what you are/identify as, or who you like, you are welcome here. This is a safe place, away from all the kingdoms that won't accept who you are.

2) Respect. It goes both ways; we respect you, and you respect us. We will not tolerate haters and will show no mercy against those who mean harm against us.

3) We hold the right to deny requests, there can be a multitude of reasons why, but if we decide that we aren't comfortable doing it, that's it. We will let you know if we aren't comfortable with it. We are usually willing to give an answer unless it directly goes against our rules.

4) Don't steal our stuff. We worked hard on writing it, and it's our work. You're welcome to reblog our works, in fact, we encourage that. Don't, however, just copy and paste things. We will find you, you don't steal from a dragon's horde.

5) We will not write NSFW/Suggestive content for underage characters. Will we be willing to age them up? Possibly. Though that may not always be the case. Be sure to keep in mind that we do have the right to deny any requests. Dragons are very particular about what they keep.

◖ Hello anon! Thank you for my first request, and for a translator, this was actually super understandable! I love Nico and would be happy to write this. I'm not sure if you sent this request in a romantic sense, but that's pretty much all I write so I might put that in the rules later.. Here we go!

➹NICO WITH A TALL, QUIET & SWEET S/O

First off, let's talk about the height. Nico is 5'6, which leaves the reader around 5'9 - 6'1- and wow, Nico loves the height.

Others may have gotten intimidated by your height, but all Nico thought is, "COOL!" when he realized just how tall you were.

He likes to ask for piggy back ride/for you to carry him. He just wants to feel as tall as you. If you can't lift him- totally fine by him.

Now, the height added on to you being sweet and quiet? He thinks that you're extremely cute. Definitely likes to comment on how awesome you are.

You being quiet doesn't bother him too much, he's a talkative person and he's fine with doing most of it. He can talk for hours without you even getting a word in- he's just that good at conversation topics (well, it isn't much of a conversation if it's only one person, but still) .

Now, he only really escapes when Jyugo does too. And even sometimes then he doesn't escape much. And even if that means you don't scold him as much, he swears he can't handle you being mad at him (you aren't mad, but he thinks you are).

Nico whines and groans about how he('s) "so sorry!" and "I promise I won't do it again! ". Well, he does do it again and you guys go through it all over again.

But overall, Nico considers you really special to him. He loves to be near you and talk with (to) you. Definitely can't stay away from you for too long- you're just too fun!

Hajime tapped your shoulder, an annoyed look marring his face. “I need your help,”

“Did cell thirteen escape again?”

“No, I need help checking mail for my building.”

“Oh, umm, sure thing.” You followed him to building thirteen’s office. Sorting mail was an easy task, so why in the world did he feel the need to ask you for help? Maybe he was just stressed out lately and needed a break. You noticed a small stack of letters sitting neatly by Hajime’s desk. “These?”

“No,” He grabbed your shoulders and spun you around. “These,”

“Holy mother of…” Your eyes widened in shock at the sight that lay before you. A mountain of pink and red letters stood so tall that they were being squished against the ceiling. “I… I didn’t know building thirteen was so damn popular.” You grabbed a card from the pile, stepping back as it caused a small landslide of paper.

“It’s not building thirteen, it’s cell thirteen.” Hajime pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. “Mostly for inmate eleven.”

“…EH?!” All of this mail for one cell? You’d never heard of something so crazy.

A hand shot out from the pile, grabbing your ankle. You stepped back in surprise, pulling the arm with you. Seitarou’s head popped out of the pile, taking in a big gulp of air. “Th-Thank you! You saved me!” He cried, clutching tightly onto your leg. “I thought I was going to die!”

You sweatdropped, patting his head awkwardly.

“Let’s get to work!” Hajime ordered. “We have to check every single letter!”

This was so not how you planned to spend your Tuesday night, but that’s exactly how it went. Even with the effort of three people, it still took almost eight hours to finish going through all of them for contraband. It was exactly five-thirty in the morning when Seitarou set down the final letter, letting out a relieved sigh.

Hajime sat two separate stacks on the coffee table before leaning back on the couch. “These were mixed in with our pile,”

Pile was hardly the right word to use.

“One stack goes to building five, the other goes to building three.”

You heaved a tired sigh. “I’ll take five,”

The prison was almost completely silent. The sun hadn’t risen yet, so most of the inmates were still sleeping while the guards were taking it easy. As you made your way past building five’s courtyard, you noticed Liang training. He was being watched over by Rokuriki. Well, technically, the guard in question had fallen asleep. You couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous.

You paused to watch Liang train. Did that boy ever rest? It seemed like every time you saw him he was busy training. It was kind of endearing how hard he was working given his situation.

Feeling your stare, his magenta eyes locked onto your own. Jogging over to you, he glanced over at Rokuriki. “I can wake him up if you need…”

“Nah, he looks pretty exhausted. Let him rest, but make sure you wake him up if you see Gokuu coming.”

“You look quite tired, as well.” Liang mused, resting the back of his hand against your cheek.

“Ah,” you rubbed the back of your head. “I was up all night helping Hajime check Valentine cards. I had no idea that Uno was so popular, my god.”

“Did he really get that many?”

“It was a literal mountain.” You laughed. “It reached the ceiling!”

He smiled automatically when your laugh reached his ears. “What brings you over here?”

“Oh right,” you held up the stack of letters. “These got mixed in with the ones delivered to our office.”

“If you’re willing to trust me… I can make sure the guards get them.”

You smiled. “That’d be great! I really need a nap…”

“I’m happy to help.” He smiled softly, pecking your cheek. “Sleep well… Y/N.”

A yawn passed your lips as you lay on the couch in building thirteen’s office. Hajime was off to a meeting for the supervisors and Seitarou was making his rounds, so the office was silent. You had almost drifted off to sleep when the door slammed open, making you fall off the couch in surprise.

“Are you okay?” A familiar voice filled with concern reached your ears.

Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you noticed Liang kneeling next to you and Gokuu standing in the doorway. “I’m fine, no worries. What can I do for you both?”

Gokuu folded his arms over his chest. “Liang said he has something important to talk to you about. Bring him back to building five when you’re done – I have a meeting to get to.”

Liang waited until Gokuu was gone before addressing you. “I apologize, I should have waited for you to get some rest.”

“Don’t worry about it.” You patted his shoulder, situating yourself back onto the couch. “What did you need to talk about?”

His cheeks darkened and he averted his gaze. “Today is Valentine’s day…”

You shifted so that your back was against the couch, legs stretched out in front of you. “It is, but after dealing with Uno’s fanmail, I’d be happy to never see another pink or red envelope again.”

“Did you receive anything?”

“Aside from Uno’s pickup line, no.”

“Pickup line?”

You hummed, letting your head fall back onto the cushion. “It’s an everyday occurrence, so it’s nothing special.”

“I see…”

“What about you, Liang? Any love letters, hmm?” You grinned, poking his cheek. “I bet you’re popular with the ladies, as well.”

“Why would you think that?” He flushed.

“Because you’re gorgeous,” you murmured softly, gently tugging on his earring.

His cheeks darkened until they matched the shade of his outfit.

Realizing what you had said, you quickly pulled away and straightened yourself out. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have said that. It was out of line.”

Liang took a deep breath to steel his nerves. “If that’s the case, then I must apologize in advance. I came here to confess my feelings to you. I’ve been in love with you for a while now. I treasure every moment spent with you and I hate that you work in building thirteen. I wish you were part of building five so I could see your beautiful smile every day.”

You were surprised. “So the rumors were true, then.”

“Rumors? What rumors?”

“Rock told me that Qi told him that you like me. I guess there’s not much else for the prisoners to do but gossip.” You chuckled, turning your body to face him. “I have to admit, I’m surprised it’s true though.”

“Damn him,” Liang muttered, eyes narrowing at the ground.

You reached out, gently holding his cheeks between your palms. “It’s a good thing he did it. It gave me hope that you felt the same.”

Before he could respond, you pulled him forward and claimed his lips as your own. His slender fingers wrapped around your wrist as he pushed himself closer to you. A few minutes passed before he broke the kiss, unable to control the bright smile that spread across his face.

“I wish this moment could last forever…”

“Nonsense. There will be many more moments to come, Liang. Don’t fixate on just one.” You returned his smile, resting your forehead against his.

As your fingers intertwined, you knew this was the start of something special.

Gokuu rounded up the prisoners and guards of building five. It was sudden, without warning, and had everyone on their guard. Meetings among the guards were a normal occurrence, but they rarely ever included the inmates. His eyes scanned the rec room to ensure that everyone had assembled. Once he was satisfied with the numbers, he cleared his throat and folded his arms behind his back to make himself look as official as possible. “We have a new guard joining building five today,”

“A new guard?” Kokoriki put his hand on his hip and scowled. “Do they think we can’t handle ourselves?”

“This is a prison full of sneaky and conniving inmates. There’s never enough guards around.” Gokuu stepped to the side. “This is Y/N, formerly a guard for building thirteen.”

Everyone was left speechless. They all knew you quite well since you visited many times in the past and they were confused as to why you suddenly decided to transfer.

“Why did you decide to transfer?” Rokuriki asked with concern, voicing what everyone was thinking. “Did something happen?”

“Ah, well…” you rubbed the back of your head. “Thirteen is quite hectic. There’s never a moment of peace to let you stop and catch your breath. Too much excitement for my blood.” You caught Liang’s gaze and winked at him.

The shock and surprise disappeared from his face, replaced by a beautiful and radiant smile. He was ecstatic at the news.

It took you a while to dodge everyone welcoming you and asking you questions, but you managed it by hiding in a dead-end corridor off the main hallway. Crowds had never really been your forte – that’s why you asked to be assigned to thirteen in the first place. Sure, cell thirteen was a pain, but the rest of the inmates kept to themselves and there were only two guards you had to interact with. It was the perfect situation for you.

“Are you okay, love? You seem stressed.”

You whipped around, ready to put on the cheerful guard act when you realized who it was that was standing in front of you. Your body relaxed and you smiled softly. “I didn’t expect such a reception, is all.”

Liang smiled, resting his hands on your hips. “Everyone loves you,” his lips feathered over your own. “But none more than I.” You shared a long, chaste kiss that made your heart skip a beat. “I can’t believe you actually transferred for me.”

You chuckled, tugging at his collar. “You’re stuck with me now, Liang.”

“I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

authors note: this takes place in a kind of different timeline? He and the rest of his cellmates ain't in prison here, bc how would I make a headcannon fic like that? Lmao.

AND these are all mixed together because I am having brain rot and am dead tired :D

Uno loves it when you play with his hair, you sitting on the couch and him on the floor, both watching some TV show on the tv.

His favorite part of you physically is your eyes, he loves them, the color and shape of them, so nice to look at. He loves the way they curve when you are happy or excited, or when they close shut at the taste of somthing gross.

Although he may seem like the type to only like someone based off of thier looks, he also depends on the personality the person has if he wants the relationship to go deeper, what originally attracted him to you? how good looking you were to him, just his type! And although he thought It would be a one off thing, you and him barely talking, it turned into more then that, he became genuinely interested in you and your likes/dislikes.

you and him talking each night, you asking about curtain skin care products and such.

"Ah no no no, don't get that one! It won't work with your skin type at all"

He takes so many pictures of you, he has one of you asleep on the couch as his lockscreen and refuses to change it, he fucking loves it. He genuinely thinks you loom pretty.

Nicknames he uses for you include : babycakes, hot stuff, sweet thing, and hun.

He...yeah he sucks at pet names. However sometimes it actually works lol.

Okay yes you have woken up to his hair in your face at least....every night, he doesn't mean it though!

Self care. All the way he's all about you taking time for yourself.

he doesn't care if he you have to cancel a date because you just don't feel up to it, he's always open the next day, just for you :)

Uno isn't the best with comforting people, he's not good with words especially with comforting people, so his way of comforting you would be to wrap his arms around you and to hug you, quietly he'd listen to you vent and cry it all out, sitting there and letting you cry. Letting you scream, letting you let it out.

He smells like....vanilla, no vanilla extract to be more specific.

He sucks at video games so if you happen to play video games and ask him to play with you, he'll probably decline, however. On the off chance he says yes, you will beat his ass.

He'll rage quit after like..ten minutes.

He loves soft moments, like when he comes home and you are laying on the couch watching somthing on the tv or if you are just paying close attention to your hobbies, and you look over to him wave with a simple 'hello'.. He dies, he can't explain it though.

Oh yeah, one time when he was dead tired he was waxing poetically about how he'd be no where without you.

Sometimes he'll need that comfort that he trys to supply to you all the time. So please kiss him on the forehead and hold him close, lay him down on your lap and tell him that he'll be okay, that you care about him and will stay with him.

It actually took a while for him to say he loved you. Unlike a lot of his passed relationships that moved quite fast, he wanted this one to last, he wanted to stay with you for as long as he could.

He's not easy to get jealous, not at all, he trusts you, he believes wholeheartedly that you won't do anything behind his back. He trusts you and that you won't play with his heart.

Sometimes he'll wake up early and just won't feel up to dealing with his hair, so he'll wake you up if you aren't awake with him and will ask if you can brush his hair. It's a really calm morning activity, brushing his hair, both of you half asleep.

For example: here they are going to the roof together and suddenly it starts to rain. (Y/n) invites him to dance together and after that they confess their feelings to each other.

And maybe during the dance they will remember common moments from the past and confess? If it's too tricky, you don't have to add it.

“oh…” opening the door to the balcony revealed the heavy rain that was falling, the droplets hitting hard as they created a downpour. “well i guess we’ll just go back then.” jyugo started to close the door to head back downstairs, but you stopped him, keeping the door open.

“why don’t we just go anyways?”

“huh?”

“you heard me! let’s just go anyways!” you giggled. it wasn’t something that was out of the ordinary for you; ever since the two of you were kids, you would want to do things that baffled him. and of course, this was no different.

“i guess we can, but you could get sick, (y/n)...”

“life is meant for living, jyugo! c’mon, let’s go!” before he could protest, you had already grabbed his hand and dragged him out into the rain. he let out a yelp at the cold rain, the heavy downpour almost immediately soaking his clothing, as well as yours. as he stood there, already shivering, you started twirling around and…dancing? there wasn’t even any music, so what were you dancing to?

“hey, dance with me?”

“what? there isn’t even any music??”

“okay, and? i’m not seeing your point. don’t you just wanna dance with me?” you asked him, a bit of a frown playing along your lips as you held your hand out to him. even though he knew the frown was just for you to get him to dance out of guilt, he still couldn’t help but feel the twinge of sadness in him at seeing the sad expression on you.

“...fine.” as soon as he hesitantly grabbed your hand, you pulled him with you, making him almost stumble over his feet in surprise.

there was no rhyme or rhythm to your dancing, and even though he was rather clumsy with accompanying you, you didn’t seem to mind at all.

as he watched you, he noticed a lot of things.

your hair was plastered all over your face, the wet strands sticking onto your skin in all different kinds of patterns. the droplets of water that were falling on you slowly slid down your cheeks and down onto your neck, soaking into your clothing. your lips were upturned into a joyous smile that made his heart feel all warm and fuzzy.

the cold stone floor of the cell had long since made his legs numb. counting all of the different bricks in the wall had grown boring once he reached 1,000, so he had just been staring at the wall ever since. it was times like these that ate away at his mind.

“jyugo? are you awake?” looking to the side, he saw you in the cell to his left, sitting right next to the bars.

“i thought you were sleeping.”

“i was, but i had a bad dream. will you keep me company over here?” you asked, a slight quiver to your voice. it was obvious you didn’t want him to think you were weak, but you couldn’t help the fact that you had been spooked.

“...sure.” scooting over to the partition, jyugo leaned his back against the bars, his head slightly turning to face you. as he got a closer look, he noticed that your eyes were a bit bloodshot and that you had some slight under eye bags. it seemed like you hadn’t been getting a good sleep lately.

suddenly feeling a warmth in his hand, he looked down to see that you had clasped onto his hand with yours. the warmth from your hand seemed to travel throughout his whole body, making his once cold body warm.

“goodnight, jyugo.” he kinda liked the way you said his name.

“yeah, ‘night…”

“do you know how to waltz?”

“uh, no…”

“haha, it’s fine; i don’t know either. i always kinda wanted to learn though, you know?” you suddenly got a whole lot closer to him, making him want to take a step back. he doesn’t though; he just swallows a bit and tries to act calm.

“why do you wanna learn?”

“‘cause i think it would be nice if we could dance to a waltz one day…i don’t know, it just sounds very lovely.” you sighed, a small smile on your lips. “can i slow dance with you?”

“what- uh- i mean…i don’t know how to…” the question took jyugo by surprise; is that what you were intending to do?

“it’s okay silly, you just sway back and forth!” you took his moment of silence as a ‘yes’, wrapping your arms around his neck and leaning in close to him.

jyugo froze, unsure of what to do and where to place his hands. all he knew was that you were close, so close, and it was messing him up a bit. what was he supposed to do again?

shakily, he put his hands near your hips, his fingers hovering over your figure and just barely touching you. although he was still very stiff, he started to move the same way you were. even though the two of you were getting soaked by the rain, the warmth of your body against his was making his whole body warm. he hoped you couldn’t hear the way his heart was beating right now.

“jyugo?”

“uh, y-yeah?”

“...”

“...(y/n)?”

“i like you.” for a second time, jyugo froze up, his limbs going stiff at your words. “i really like you. i’ve been so scared to ruin our friendship, but i felt like if i didn’t tell you now i never would, and i had to tell you or else i would explode from just wanting to tell you. i don’t know.” you buried your face further into his chest, taking his silence as a not good sign. “i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have said anything. this was a mistake, so please just forget it happened.”

it was only when you started to think it was a mistake that jyugo finally unfroze.

“wait, no, i’m sorry. i was just…i just…i didn’t know what to say. it…it’s not a mistake. you’re too good for me though; if you stay with me, there won’t be good things for you.” at his words, you suddenly looked up angrily, seeing the pained look on his face as he looked away.

“jyugo, can you shut up about that and just tell me if you like me back? i want to be by your side forever, even if that means that there will be bad things.”

“but, (y/n)-”

“do you like me too?”

“...yes.” in an instant, the smile that always made his heart skip a beat was back on your face.

“see, it wasn’t that hard!” you leaned up, pressing your lips against his cheek, wet from the rain. “just let me be by your side. that’s all i ask.”

jyugo’s heart almost exploded.
