Since making your Formula 1 debut at the start of the 2016 season, you had made quite name for yourself. You had signed for Red Bull at the age of 19 and were the first female to do so - however, your career was not all sunshine and rainbows. Being a woman in a male dominated sport was not all that it was cracked up to be - You were told to smile and nod in response to any hateful or spiteful comments you received, both online and in person; You were told how you paled in comparison to your male teammate - despite you consistently outperforming him or performing at the same level, you were directly behind him in the drivers championship table, so you didn't quite understand how you could be worse than him.
You could ignore those comments easily enough, they just didn't like you because you were good enough to be in the position you were in, they were just jealous that they weren't. You couldn't however, ignore the comments made about your body. At first you ignored them the best that you could, but soon you found their words swirling around your head as you sat down to eat dinner, and you would no longer be hungry, but motivated to head to the gym for a late night workout. You had been 19 years old when you first thought that maybe, just maybe, you could be struggling with an eating disorder - the idea quickly left your head as you got older and the comments slowly stopped about your body and what you ate, so maybe you were doing something right finally.
You didn't bother with many of the other drivers other than max, the rest of them were all too worried about what would be said about them in the media if they were caught talking to you - talking to you risked cheating rumours, which some of their tumultuous relationships wouldn't survive. The only other driver to take a bit of an interest in you, was your idol, Sebastian Vettel - Who you had spent many Sundays in your childhood watching in front of the TV, telling yourself that one day you would race with him. You wished you could have warned younger you how hard things would be, but she already knew - the constant teasing from the boys you karted with had been enough to make your mom and dad want to pull you from the sport all together, but they couldn't find it in themselves to take your dream away from you. Sebastian could only imagine how isolated you felt in your dream career, he noticed the way that your podiums were rarely, if ever celebrated, how you never appeared to be invited out afterwards, always heading back to your hotel, alone with your trophy. He also took notice of how if you were invited out for dinner, you would always decline politely, explaining that your trainer would kill you if you went off of your meal plan - But Sebastian knew who your trainer was, they were by no means particularly strict with you and would understand if you wanted to have a treat one night.
Sebastian knew the reality of your situation all too well, in a sport like formula 1 with such an emphasis on physical fitness, he knew of the eating disorder culture within the sport - and it pained him to see his favourite young driver fall victim to the aforementioned culture. It also angered him to know that it was not all the fault of the sport, but of the media too and their constant obsession with you and everything you did. Deciding that he couldn't watch you fall deeper and deeper into the throws of an eating disorder any longer, Sebastian decided that he would gently approach you about it - He thought he had a good enough relationship with you for you to not suspect anything in his intentions; Since you had joined the sport and he had noticed the isolation you were subjected to, Sebastian had taken on almost a father-like role in your life, since you were so far away from your own family.
But, since you were a girl, Sebastian thought it would be best to consult his wife, Hanna first - Just to be cautious, he didn't want to upset you, never.
"Be honest with her Sebastian, and let her know that you're there to listen," Hanna advised him over the phone, none of his daughters had as much life experience as you did, so in terms of this in being a father, he was not at all prepared. "She might not open up to you right away, but let her know that you'll be there for her when or if she is, she'll appreciate it." Sebastian sighed sadly at the thought of you suffering silently, on your own.
"Thank you, Hanna," He said to his wife, appreciative of how to at least let the young girl he had essentially adopted know that he would be there for her should she ever want to open up on her clear problem.
"Let me know how it goes, okay?" Hanna too, was worried about the young girl that her husband had spoken so highly of. Her heart broke for the young girl, seeing how ruthlessly the press and media tore the woman down, and how she could clearly never defend herself without being portrayed as unstable or emotional. "You're doing the right thing, Seb. I love you."
"Yeah, I love you too," He told her, hanging up after as he let out a deep sigh, gathering his thoughts on how he was going to go about this. He knew he could be straight with you, it was apparent in your attitude towards the media that you were never coddled; but he also knew that you were not the person the media painted you out to be, that you were quiet and reserved, that growing up you had a rabbit called Pierre, which you thought would have made you a friend in ones Pierre Gasly, but it only made the aforementioned driver laugh at you - That story in particular infuriated Seb. Collecting his thoughts, he made his way out of his hotel room and over to yours, which was across and 3 doors down from his own - knocking on your door once, twice, and then a third time. He was ready to knock for a third time, when-
"Oh, hi Sebastian," You greeted the older German standing at your door. Your heart started pounding, this was how your short lived friendships all ended - they'd come to your hotel room, tell you they couldn't be seen with you anymore because of how it was affecting their relationship, and that was it. But Sebastian was your idol, you weren't sure you could handle losing his friendship, not after how you had opened up about so much to him.
"Hi, can we talk?" You noted the concern in his voice, furrowing your brows as you nodded and stepped to the side, allowing him to step into your hotel room. Sebastian gave you a small smile as he turned to look at you, taking in how your t-shirt hung off of your frame, emphasising the amount of weight you had lost. "Is everything okay?"
This was not how this conversation normally went. There was never any concern for your feelings or how you'd take this.
"Um," He could see the confusion on your face.  "Yeah, I um, yeah, I'm fine. What's going on, Seb?" You asked him, tilting your head as he sat down on your bed. You tentatively sat beside him, weary of what he was trying to go about here.
"I just noticed that you've lost a lot of weight recently," Oh God. He knows. "And I'm just concerned about you - I know how they talk about you...everywhere and I just want you to know that even if you're not ready right now, that I'm here to listen to you anytime you need to talk." Sebastian explained to you, watching as tears bubbled in your eyes, threatening to spill over at any moment.
"I don't feel like I have control over anything, Sebastian," You cried, breaking down into tears in front of the man you called your hero. He frowned deeply, in the 5 years he had driven with you, you had never cried, not once - not in front of him, at least. "It's just...I can't seem to do anything write ever. Everything I do on the track, good or bad, its always made out like I'm a bad person or a bitch. I beat Max and everyone calls me a wannabe or a show off, I come second to Max and suddenly second place is the first to lose and I don't deserve my seat. I can't fucking win ever," You ranted, letting out an occasional sob as Sebastian put a comforting hand on your back. "But, I have control over how I look so at first I thought it was fine because I was only doing it to shut up the media but I couldn't stop and now I feel sick any time I try and eat."
His heart broke for you as you sobbed, realising that your problem had had such prominence in your life years before he had even noticed. He was however, thankful you had opened up to him.
"Thank you, for telling me that, that was really brave," He told you softly, smiling gently as you wiped your eyes dry of the tears that fell from them. "I need you to know, that you, more than anyone deserve your seat in Formula 1, you worked so hard for so long, and there's so many drivers on the grid that only have their seats because of their parents or who they know, but you worked for your seat and you have so much talent. Like you said, you beat Max," You sniffled as Sebastian spoke to you, almost feeling your heart healing as you heard your idol speak so highly of you. "I know you feel like you have no control over what they say, and to be honest with you, you don't. And it is much easier said than done, but you have to ignore them, if you give them what they want, you let them win, and you of all people, would hate to see that happen, I imagine." He said, smiling upon hearing you laugh quietly.
"Thank you, Sebastian," You said, smiling at him as you looked at Sebastian. "It really means a lot," Sebastian gently held your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze as he saw you smile for what felt like the first time in forever. "Aside from Max, you're the only one who's actually treated me like I actually belong here."
"You do belong here, and I will tell you that every day until you believe me."

Hello! May I ask for the BG3 gang with an autistic gn Tav who is. Very Very Large but also quite young (think like... Older teen.) who just decides that Astarion/Wyll/Halsin/Gale etc is their new favourite person and WILL NOT leave them alone.
It would be very funny if they just... didn't realise Tav was actually A Kid™ and thought they were just a weirdly clingy grownup. Except Halsin. Halsin would know Immediately.
Inspired by my dumb ass being enormous and this having happened to me irl many times.
Bg3 Characters With a Young Older Looking Autistic Tav
A/n: This idea is so silly I love it. This is obviously written as platonic because reader is younger and baulder's gate characters are older and I don't write weird stuff like that lol although I'm sure that's expected. Also also i did all of them together because I do not have the energy to write sperate headcannons for each of them, dont worry they all get their moment
Gn Reader, Child/teen Reader
Tumblr media
This was an... interesting situation
Everyone on the team assumed you were just assumed you were a bit childish for an adult
I mean could you blame them? You were massive, anyone would assume you were an adult
Except for Halsin
He could easily tell your age, but it's something he kept between the two of you, mainly for safety
Halsin takes more of a dad approach if you cling to him
He's very protective of you and teaches you new skills
He also keeps anyone else on the team from hitting on you, for obvious reasons, but wouldn't say why
He's also the most attentive when it comes to your autism, he's always keeping an eye out for you and helping when he can
It took the others longer to find, though
Wyll was the second to put two and two together
Once he realized, he grilled you about why you didn't tell anyone about it
He isn't too harsh though, and takes a more "fun uncle" role
He always makes sure to entertain you, he's the guy who's got fidgets on him just for you incase you need them
He also decides not to tell anyone for your safety after consulting with Halsin, but he does wish you said something sooner
Gale is the second to last to find out, after trying to teach you something about magic
He had questioned why you didn't know any of this, it was supposed to be common knowledge for someone your age
Or someone he thought was your age
He just stared at you blankly for a good minute after you told him how old you actually were
He's more upset at himself for not noticing to be honest
He realizes how that actually makes a lot of sense
Gale, like Halsin, also takes a more fatherly approach
he teaches you things you may have not known before, and is one of the most helpful when it comes to working through your autism
He's a knowledgeable man and can tell what you need, probably before you do
He's very protective, often insisting that you stay out of battles, but it's not like you listen to him in that department
For comedy's sake, Astarion is the last to find out, and he is pissed
He's mad that no one told him, even if it wasn't too long Gale found out and most of the party knew
He looked so dumbfounded when he found out and like Gale, was more mad that he didn't realize sooner
He's upset, but he gets over it quickly after a day or two of snarky comments and like Wyll, takes on a cool uncle postion
The whole party suddenly wants to protect you and it's suddenly become one of their top goals to return you to your parent/guardian if you have one, next to y'know, getting the worms out of your head
If you don't have somewhere to go they may or may not argue on who takes you once it's all over
Generally, you're taken good care of from then on, much better than you were before
Everyone's very attentive to you and tries to be aware of what you may need at any given point
Since they all have some type of trauma, they want to make sure the same doesn't happen to you, especially so young
Being in this situation is stressful for anyone, let alone a child, and a child with a disability
They do their best to make you happy and keep you safe
They may struggle, but they do their best, and now you have people to call family

pairing ; mama! neytiri te tskaha mo’at’ite x baby!daughter! reader
taggings ; 🪽🍄
summary ; neytiri recently gave birth to her first daughter, and she has never been happier.
2.5k words
Tumblr media
the omatikayan people did not have the same tools that humans did during pregnancy. the mother would receive monthly check-ups from the tsahìk herself to ensure her and baby were strong. when the day came, the mother would be brought to the tsahìk and her top healers to help guide her through the birth and bring her baby into the world.
the navi get no information on their babies before they are born, so when mo’at had placed you in neytiris arms for the first time with her words,
“the great mother has blessed you with a baby girl.”
your mother cried, as did jake. she had already welcomed a son into this world and the news of being able to raise a daughter brought her such joy.
neytiri held you against her chest letting her tears sink into your bloodied hair. all she could do was stare at you, though you were unable to do the same as your eyes hadn’t opened yet.
she rocked you against her chest, expecting your cries to ring throughout the room. when they didn’t, your mother worried and in turn asked her own mother if you were okay.
“sa’nok she isn’t crying. why isn’t she crying?”
mo’at picked you up from your mothers arms and investigated your small body, checking for anything that could be wrong.
the other healers rushed over to their tsahìk offering their aid, blocking view from your mother.
“what’s wrong with her? is she okay? please tell me she’s okay.” neytiri expressed, her lips quivering.
she tried to push herself off the hammock but fell back down due to her weak body after birth. a younger girl in the tsahìks tent lended her aid to your mother, doing her best to calm her.
after a through inspection of your external and internal health, mo’at smiled and placed you back into your moms arms. she gladly took you back and rocked you again, looking at your scrunched up face.
“nothing is wrong. she is just a happy baby.” your grandmother spoke, brushing neytiris hair out of her face.
your mother lightly laughed as she held you even closer. neteyam was such a loud baby when he was born, this was a shock to her.
you let out baby babbles and reached your tiny arms out towards your mothers face. neytiri put her index finger infront of your small hands, and you grasped on. you were only a few minutes old, but you let out a smile to the contact.
“have you and jake decided on a name?”
“(y/n) te suli neytiri’ite.” neytiri said with a smile.
Tumblr media
you were presented to the clan by your father, the olo’keytan. everyone was there, young, old, healer, hunter, even some of the humans.
your father held you high and proud, with your mother by his side. neytiri couldn’t speak due to the overflux of joy she was experiencing. after neteyams presentation, she thought the next wouldn’t be as emotional. that was far from the truth.
“(y/n)!” your father spoke sternly, raising you in the sky.
“(y/n)!” the clan repeated after him.
everyone around felt blessed as they welcomed the tsakarems newest child into the omatikayan clan.
when night fell, it was time for the moment your mother had been waiting for since she first held you. your first connection to eywa was beautiful and full of emotions.
your mother held you this time, jake by her side. she guided your small queue towards eywa’s as you made tsaheylu with the tree of souls. when you and your mother made this bond directly after your birth, you felt neytiris joy and she felt your curiosity. connecting to eywa was different, the feeling was indescribable.
when the bond was made, both of your pupils widen in response. your face was blank a moment, until your broke out into a smile. the only way to describe it was like a hug from the great mother, feeling her warm embrace as she welcomed you into her great creation.
the bond first felt like a feeling, until you blinked and opened your eyes in a meadow within the forest. you saw everything in what seemed to be third person, not truely being there, just observing.
the first thing you saw was a female navi running into the middle of your view. she looked like your mother, though slightly older. she gasped in joy and scooped up what had to be you, as once she did you suddenly were aware of your surroundings and saw the world in first person once more.
“aw, tsu’tey look! she’s so pretty!”
a navi male then entered the scene, coming up behind the female.
“sylwanin, be calm. she is just a baby, you will spook her.”
your mind wasn’t old enough to comprehend what these people were saying, you didn’t understand your language yet.
“ok ok, i’m aunty syl! your sa’nus sister! your such a gorgeous little girl!” the girl who had introduced herself as sylwanin yipped, as she motioned to herself.
she bumped the males shoulder encouraging him to speak up.
“she can’t not even understand m-“ a quick shove to the leg shut him up. “sweet eywa, i am tsu’tey. your..uncle?”
sylwanin, your mothers sister, and tsu’tey, your aunts lover. they rested eternally with eywa now, though you didn’t know it at the time.
“sempul!” your aunt spoke, referencing the much older man now approaching you.
“look at her! isn’t she gorgeous? neytiri makes such cute children.” sylwanin held you up to the elder navi.
“she possesses your beauty as well.” he replied.
“this is your grandpa! eyuktan! he is your mother and i’s sempul.” syl spoke again. “look! everyone is here (y/n)!”
your moms sister held you up and let you see around the forest. there were countless navi surrounding the area, spread throughout the floor and trees. they were all focused on one thing, you. you had been presented to the living memebers of your clan, and now the dead admired you through the great mother.
sylwanin handed you to tsu’tey, speaking to him,
“it is better if you do it.”
tsu’tey held you tight and then to the sky as your father had once done.
“(y/n)!”
the fallen navi spoke loudly,
“(y/n)!”
outside of eywa, at the tree of souls, you were smiling with your eyes closed. once neytiri saw your emotion, she knew you had seen what the great mother intended you to see, and broke the bond.
Tumblr media
“sit neteyam.” your father announced.
your mother sat on the floor of your families kelku, holding you gently in her arms. neteyam sat infront of his mother and put his hands out, wanting to hold his little sister.
“now you have to be gentle, understand? (y/n) is a baby. you can not handle her roughly.” neytiri explained.
“i will! i will! i’ll be super careful sa’nu!” your older brother pleaded his case.
neytiri began to pass you onto neteyam, placing you in his 3 fingered hands,
“support her head.”
your brother held you softly with one hand on your hand and another on your back. he stared into your eyes then back to his mother and smiled,
“she looks like you mama!”
he moved his head and faced towards you again and leaned in,
“i’m ne-te-yam. i’m your tsmukan, and i’m gonna be here forever and ever.”
your mother smiled at her two children, there was nothing in life she would ever desire more then the moments like these.
“sa’nuuu when will she talk?”
Tumblr media
not everything was all sunshine. nights with you were restless. you hadn’t cried during birth, so your mother expected you to be quiet at night, she was wrong.
“shh, ma (y/n) you are okay. there is nothing to cry about.” your mother rocked you and softly tried to put you back to sleep.
your crying didn’t halt and you sobbed. neytiri had done everything to make you comfortable, you were simply being a baby.
at this point you had woken your father and brother. your crying had upset neteyam, and while he was older than you, he was still just a toddler who cried too. jake held his son and tried to calm him.
“what is the mighty warrior crying about? you’re not a baby like (y/n) why do you cry?”
neteyam shook his head and cried harsher which made you cry even louder. his sister waking him up during the night and not being quiet annoyed him so much, there was nothing else he knew how to do but cry.
neytiri was exhausted. with her daughter and son both crying in the middle of night she didn’t know what to do. she rocked and rocked you but nothing seemed to help. she was trying to hold herself together but you paired with your brother made an extremely loud combination.
“jake, i can not. i can not do this. i cant calm her, i am such a bad mother i cant even console my children.” neytiri ranted to her husband, doubting her skills.
her father sat neteyam down despite his protests and embraced his wife as well as you.
“you are doing great love. (y/n) is a baby, babies cry. she will stop eventually, this is not your fault.”
neteyam clung onto his leg sniffling, wanting to be held again.
“sempu!! make it stop!”
you continued crying and weeping, seeming even louder than before now.
jake sighed, “give her to me neytiri.”
your mother reluctantly handed over her daughter to her mate, and picked up neteyam, having an easier time calming him.
jake shook you from side to side, rather than up and down; a trick he learned on earth.
as your cries softened, neytiri stared with wide eyes, mostly thankful but with a hint of jealousy.
“w-wha- how - how did you do that?” she stammered over her words.
“if up and down doesn’t work, try side to side. all babies are different.”
you quickly fell back asleep and jake placed you in your smaller hammock. neteyam sighed in relief and returned to his sleeping quarters as well. now it was neytiris turn to cry.
“i don’t understand, i am her mother. i should know what is best for my baby. i am just failing her ma jake.” she exclaimed, falling back onto her and your fathers shared hammock.
“woah, woah slow it down baby.” jake approached and sat next to her.
“you are a wonderful mother neytiri. i wouldn’t want anyone else raising my babies. you have bore me two strong children, and you will learn their way as they learn ours. doubting yourself will get us nowhere as parents.”
neytiri looked up at him through watery eyes and squeezed him, letting her tears fade away.
Tumblr media
“come to mama (y/n)! use those arms, i know you can do it yawntutsyìp!” neytiri sat shortly away from you, encouraging you to crawl towards her.
your father stood in the kitchen, preparing lunch, as your brother played with his wooden toys; most likely annoying his dad.
you babbled a little and got onto your knees and started crawling, wanting to feel your mother.
“yes ma (y/n) come! you are doing so good!”
you continued with help of your mothers encouragement, wanting to be held even more. you had a big smile on your face as you approached her. once you had made it neytiri swooped you up and hug you as tight as she could without hurting you.
“i am so proud of you my little nantang! you did so good!” she happily spoke
you stared up at your mother and giggled.
“yes that’s right! sa’nu is so proud of you! sa’nu loves you so much!”
your noises started to form something clearer, “saa- sa’nnnu!” you laughed and reached towards your mama.
jake dropped his knife in the kitchen and neteyam had started staring at you.
“you said what? what did you say (y/n)?” your mother spoke in shock and doubt, looking at you intently. “did you say sa’nu? sa’nu?” she asked more questions as jake approached and sat aside you and neytiri.
“sa’nuuu!” you dragged on the word into a weird baby noise and clapped your hands.
“she just- right?” your mother stared at her mate in shock as they both smiled.
your father hugged your mother and smirked while speaking, “sa’nu! your so smart (y/n), so smart! that’s her first word yeah?” he looked towards your mom with the biggest smile.
“yeah! oh- yes (y/n)! sa’nu! your so amazing my little syulang, oh your so great!” she finally spoke, breaking out of her confused silence.
neteyam ran up to the 3 of you at the family celebration, “she can talk to me now right?!”
your mother let out one more sigh of shock and hugged her son and and husband with you still on her chest.
Tumblr media
several weeks later, you had been working on crawling and speaking. you could crawl longer distances and knew a few little words. you and your mother had been alone this time, playing with wooden ikrans.
“whoosh! catch it (y/n)!” neytiri was moving the ikran around in the air, making noises to indicate it flying around.
“you can do it ma yawne!”
you pouted and sat on your knees reaching up, it took a while but you stood up as well, which you had learnt a few weeks ago. neytiri taunted you, raising the toy higher.
“sa’nu! sa’nu!” after you were able to speak a word or two, you never stopped.
“no (y/n) you have to come get it!”
“sa’nu! ikrab! sa’nu!” your pronunciation wasnt the best, but ikran was one of your favorite words.
your mother started backing up on her knees to tease you further, “it’s getting away!”
you started to whine at your mom leaving you behind and would’ve broken out into full sobs if the flap to your home didn’t open.
your father walked in with neteyam behind him, holding a fish in his hands.
“look what this fisherman caught!”
neteyam spoke up, “all by myself dad!”
jake repeated what his son had said, “yes all by himself!”
neytiri clapped for her son, allowing his ego to quickly grow as he puffed his chest out.
“sempu! sem!” you used some of the furniture to assist you in turning around and slowly waddled over to where your dad stood.
at this sight, jake got down on his knees as neytiri gasped.
“hi baby! come on (y/n) keep going!” he motioned his hands towards himself.
your mother teared up behind you, and once you made your way to your father he grabbed you up into the air with a tight hug.
“i’ve got two mighty kids! (y/n) the great walker!”
neytiri rised up from her spot and ran over to her daughter, taking you from jakes arms.
“oh my baby! your getting so big!”
neteyam wasn’t having it with the attention being placed onto someone else.
“mama i walk everyday! i’m the mighty walker!”
both of your parents laughed as your dad picked up your brother, then initiating a family hug.
neytiri wouldn’t have her family any other way.

Platonic Yandere Howdy fathering an abandoned baby. Baby is a dragonfly-based muppet.
Tumblr media
In many ways it was love at first sight despite how heartbreaking the scene was, Howdy didn't hesitate to pick you up from where you were left, swaddled up to keep your wings secure and leave him shocked when first changing you out of the dirt covered cloth
Howdy would've adored you no matter what, he loves kids and can handle them rather well, the fact that you both are insects makes him feel closer to you than being your father itself could. He might not have the wings you do but he certainly has learned about them and can't wait to teach his kid as well
No matter what you do Howdy will never stop calling you his 'cuddle bug', a simple nickname that you shall be stuck with for your entire life. Majority of the neighborhood calls you the same thing due to how often they were involved in raising you, supporting howdy between being a single father and the owner of this town's only grocery store

Gifts were important. Gifts were a way of expressing profound love for an individual, at least that is what Aziraphale had taught you. Gifts meant a lot; they were a language all their own. Gifts meant I love you.
Gifts were hard.
You stared at the heaping pile of crafting utensils Maggie from the record shop had leant you. There were a lot of options and she had even been kind enough to make you a list of ideas, the only problem was that none of it seemed quite right for Aziraphale and Crowley.
You stared at the felt and the streamers and silently willed yourself to come up with an idea, but nothing happened. Sighing, you sat back with your shoulders pressing against the side of Aziraphale's desk. It was lucky that they were out, the sight of you sitting on the floor surrounded by confetti might raise an alarm. Or perhaps not, you were prone to floor sitting.
You tossed your head back against the leg of the table and the telephone jingled with the bang. Perhaps you should call her and ask for her help, but no, this was your idea, and it would make it even more special if you did it yourself. There had to be something you could make.
Your eyes drifted to a stray bottle of silver glitter and stayed there, staring with such mindless intensity it was a miracle the tension didn't cause the bottle to bust. Miracles. You could use a little miracle of your own right about now.
"Wait," you sat up too quickly, dizzying yourself, and snatched up the little plastic bottle of glitter. "If it's only a small miracle, and one for good, then I can't possibly get in trouble for it. And it's still like I'm making it myself, because I am." A smile stretched wide across your face, and you turned to the plant in the corner, "This is going to be perfect."
Hours later, when Crowley and Aziraphale arrived back at the bookshop, there was a notable difference to the building. That being because the entire inside of the bookshop had turned into a Victorian style ballroom. "Right, well...what's all this?" You beamed at the demon from where you stood in the center of the large room. "Suprise! It's a gift!"
Aziraphale's face went from something sad - which you had luckily missed - to something proud and beaming. "A gift, yes! And, oh, how wonderful!" Crowley didn't look quite as convinced. However, he perked up quite notably when the record player you had been fiddling with started to play Queen's Somebody to Love. You offered a hand to both fellow angel and the demon in front of you, "Care to dance?"
"Why certainly!" Aziraphale answered for the both of them, whatever complaint Crowley had been about to give died in his throat as he was yanked along. As you danced, you made a mental note to thank Maggie for the record next time you saw her. Perhaps you might even thank her with a gift.

Blonde Hair
Tumblr media
PLATONIC brother!Draco x reader
Summary: Yn is the daughter of Regulus Black but was quickly taken in and adopted by Narcissa. YN is extremely insecure, but her brother Draco is always there for her. (Second person)
Warnings: YN has dark hair, fem YN, mention of blood
1.3k words
Your father, Regulus had died before you ever met him and your mother died during childbirth. The closest thing you had to a family was always the Malfoys. But even after having your last name changed Lucius had always called you 'yn black'.
You grew up feeling like you had no family and the only person who had ever made you feel any differently was Draco.
Draco always made sure you felt loved. You'd always been close and would always play together as kids.
As you grew older Draco had realized how you feel. It made no sense to him because he had always seen you as his real sister and he didn't get why you saw it any differently.
Your first year of Hogwarts was coming up and you were horrified. You wanted everyone to see you as a 'real' Malfoy. Lucius had gifted you an amulet which would change your darker hair to platinum blonde.
The amulet was a large oval with a glowing mist-like substance inside. It hung from a thick silver chain, worn as a necklace.
You were obsessed with it since the moment it was gifted to you. "YN, really... You don't have to wear that stupid necklace! You were perfectly fine without it!! No one's even here to see you-" Draco complained but you immediately cut him off.
"You just don't understand what it's like not having a family!!" This 'stupid necklace' was the thing keeping me together at the moment. It made me feel like I really did fit in with the Malfoys.
Draco's eyes started to water as his face got red. "I'm your family!" He shouted as a tear slipped down his cheek. He immediately wiped it away and hid his red eyes with his hand.
You felt bad, but you knew he was wrong. He was just trying to make you feel better. He wasn't really your brother. He was your cousin and Narcissa was your Aunt. You had no parents. No brother.
The ambiance of Draco's room continued to become more and more akward. You sigh before hugging Draco and rubbing his back. You didn't want to, but, you knew he'd do the same for you.
He hugs you back tightly as a few more tears fell from his eyes. You hadn't realized at the time he was scared of the same thing you were.
You left his room, going back to your own so you could finish packing. You and Draco left for Hogwarts tomorrow and had to leave early to get to the Hogwarts express.
When you layed in bed, anxiety took over you. 'Everyone would find out I'm not Draco's real sister and they'll all hate me!' you told yourself.
After another hour of restless sleep you sneaked into Draco's room. He was still awake and was writing in his diary. He smiled as he watched you peek into his room.
He pat the spot next to him as he wrote in his journal and you made your way over to him. You sat, resting on your knees. "I can't sleep... I'm scared. What if everyone finds out I'm not your real sister?"
He looks at you sadly. He's obviously tired of hearing about it but you have no one else to express your fears to and he knows it. But the part about you not being his 'real sister' really hits hard.
He was disappointed you didn't see him as a brother, but he was too nervous to say anything. "YN. Everyone will love you. I promise. And even if they don't I'll always be here for you." He says truthfully.
"You really think they'll believe we're siblings?" You ask once more as Draco nods.
You rested your head on his fluffy pillows before happily falling asleep with little to no worries.
You woke up the next morning in your own bed. An outfit was picked out and placed folded on your chair with your amulet on top.
You slowly woke up and got dressed. You hid your amulet under your shirt before leaving your room to go find your brother.
"YN. Your going to be late. Go meet up with Narcissa and Draco. They have your things." Lucius said as you nodded and rushed downstairs.
Lucius eventually met up with the three of you and you left for Hogwarts. When you entered the train you followed Draco to find empty seats.
Eventually a few of Draco's friends found their way to your section and sat with you two. It was fun and for once you could see some resemblance between you and Draco. You swore to yourself in this moment you'd never let anyone see you without your amulet.
A month into the school year and everything has been going great. Your best friend is Pansy, but you also hang out with Draco and his other friends.
Still none of them know your not really Draco's twin and you couldn't be any happier. Sadly it wouldn't last.
You had already made enemies due to your brother. Harry and Ron often picked on you. You didn't blame them though because of how your brother treated them.
"You know, you guys really aren't good people" you stated, tired of their constant bullying. "Says the Malfoy! Your the definition of evil" Ron argues back.
"Don't you dare talk bad about the Malfoy name!" You snapped back. You were close to loosing it. You decided to use your one talent against them.
"Duel me! Two against one! I'll prove you both wrong!"
They laughed, thinking it'd be an easy win but you knew there was no way they'd win.
You yelled out spells, constantly stunning them and blocking their counter spells.
While you were busy fighting Ron, Harry had used flipendo against you. Your body was flung into the wall and you landed roughly on the floor.
You hadn't cared for the glass stabbing into your chest, all you cared about your hair. The platinum blonde hair that was giving you a reason to live.
You sobbed out, curling in on yourself. You were so close to winning, how could things have gotten this bad. Of course you'd underestimated Harry.
You pulled at your hair as your body started to shake. The worst part was all the students watching you fall apart.
Everyone in the school would find out your not Draco's sister. Your life would be ruined.
Your eyes remained slammed shut as you felt someone pull you into their arms. "Shhhh....shhhhh... I'm here. Everything is going to be okay... My sweet sister, you don't deserve this." Draco said as he brushed out the hair you had tangled.
He lifted you up and took you away from the crowds and into the Slytherin common room.
He rested you onto the couch and noticed blood going through your white shirt. He immediately unbuttoned it to see your crushed amulet stabbing into your skin.
Draco's frown deepens as he inspects your cuts. They weren't too bad, but he still felt horrible he wasn't there for you sooner. He wished it never had happened.
He discards the amulet and cleans the blood from you. A few minutes later Pansy rushes in, hugging you as your cries die down.
"Oh, YN! I was so worried, I heard what happened... Harry and Ron truly are horrible" Pansy states as she hugs you tightly.
You smile at her comment. Draco sits next to you and continues to rub your back as you hug Pansy.
"YN, I want to talk to you in private..." Draco says as Pansy nods, giving the two of you some space.
"This changes nothing. You always have been and always will be my sister". You begin to cry at his words and hug him tightly. He hugs you back once more before you leave to get some rest.
A/N: I'm having family problems 💔 also the amulet is based off of the owl house LMAO!!

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH - kaz brekker
Tumblr media
PAIRING kaz brekker x platonic!reader
SUMMARY after another successful heist, your account was once again filled with money and you had one person in mind to use it on first.
a/n: very first time I've written for Kaz so slight warning for ooc ! Still making my way through to his character 🙏
Tumblr media
The nights in Ketterdam were always rowdy. When the moon rose, that's when the bad guys came out to play, causing trouble on the streets with their foul language and inappropriate desires. Tourists were advised to arrive in the morning and keep their windows shut at night, unless they were just as shady.
The Crow Club was packed with people, more than usual. The tables had been upgraded, and there were more gambling machines and games. It was like paradise for those addicted to gambling in here.
You scanned the crowded place, keeping an eye on everything despite the bustling bodies. Your arms were tired, but it was still early in the night, and the reason for your exhaustion was all around you, making you proud.
Tonight's success was thanks to the heist you and the other Crows pulled off a few days ago. Your bank accounts, including the club's, were overflowing with money. But you had no plans to share that wealth with anyone else.
"Hey! Sorry I'm late; hope you didn't mind," Anika's voice greeted you from behind. Her blonde hair was in a ponytail, the same style she wore during jobs. Both of you shared shifts guarding the doors. You were assigned the first eight hours, while Anika and another Dregs member would take over.
You smiled and patted her back. "As long as you showed up, I'll see you tomorrow." With a final nod, you moved away from the crowd.
Heading straight to the bar, you spotted Jesper talking to Nina, each with a drink in hand. Jesper waved you over to join them.
Grinning, you grabbed a cup from a passing server's tray and took a seat beside Jesper.
"Having fun?" you asked, taking a sip of your drink. It wasn't the usual rum from Ketterdam; it had a stronger taste that burned as it went down.
"Oh, we are! We've been enjoying Ravkan food without even setting foot in Ravka. What more could we ask for?" Jesper leaned back, looking content.
Nina nodded, turning to face you directly. "And we were just talking about you!"
You chuckled, taking another sip. "Oh really? I hope it was something juicy so I have an excuse to beat you both up."
Nina burst into laughter, holding her stomach as she struggled to stay upright on the stool. Jesper joined in, their laughter filling the air.
"The truth is, we were wondering who you'd treat tonight," Nina finally said, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
It had become a tradition for you to use your money to treat a lucky Crow. Last week, you bought authentic ingredients that one of them had been craving on your way back from Bhez Ju. They had been stuck in their warehouse for three days.
Since the heist, there was one person you hadn't given special treatment to—the person who made it all happen.
"I was actually thinking of Kaz," you said, Jesper pausing mid-drink, his eyes widening. Nina burst into laughter, barely able to keep her balance on the stool.
Jesper whistled. "Now that's interesting. But do you think Kaz would let you treat him without getting something in return?"
You gave him an offended look. "He is getting something!"
"Something that he values," Jesper pointed out, pointing his finger at you. "If anything, he'd probably want you to spend the money on something that benefits him directly."
"And he'd take it without hesitation!" Nina chimed in, clearly feeling the effects of the alcohol.
"I've thought about that," you admitted, pouring yourself another drink. "But it wouldn't be special if I did that. He might even threaten to take all my money." They laughed, agreeing with your reasoning.
You and Kaz weren't close like you were with Jesper and Nina. There was a distance between you, whether it was your doing or his natural disposition to keep people at arm's length. Your relationship with Kaz was mostly boss and employee. You exchanged sarcastic remarks and purposely irritated each other, but it never went beyond that.
It was strange how you were his first Crow but felt the most distant. Inej sometimes worried that your tension with Kaz would affect future jobs. You didn't believe her at first, but as you pondered it more, you noticed Kaz's restlessness around you.
You didn't like to imagine or assume things, especially when it came to someone like Kaz Brekker. Every time you mentioned spending money, he'd scowl disapprovingly. To others, it looked like his usual expression, but you noticed the slight twitch of his eyebrows and the deeper frown.
That's why you chose Kaz—to find out what his problem really was with you.
Hours passed, and the Crow Club closed its doors, leaving only a few Dregs to clean up. Jesper and Nina were taken away by Wylan and Matthias, bidding their goodbyes.
A waiter approached you with a tray of food from the club, including a drink.
"Thank you. Here's a tip for your service," you said, handing him some money from your wallet. The smell of the food made your stomach grumble.
Knowing Kaz, and taking into account what Jesper had said, you knew he wouldn't want to be dragged out of his office unless it was official business. So instead of taking him to a fancy restaurant, you decided to bring him food from his own club.
Climbing the wooden steps, you noticed the building had grown quiet. You knocked on the doors of Kaz's office in a specific rhythm known only to the Crows, allowing yourself entry without needing Kaz's help.
Kaz glanced up from his paperwork, his eyes narrowing as he took in your presence.
"Well, what do we have here?" he said, his voice filled with suspicion. "Did I ask for dinner?"
"Not exactly. But I figured humans need to eat at least twice a day, and you, Kaz Brekker, haven't eaten yet," you replied, closing the door behind you, a smirk playing on your lips.
He didn't say anything at first. You weren't sure if he was looking at you or the food, but it didn't matter to you.
Kaz's gaze shifted to the plates on the tray, a flicker of interest crossing his eyes before he composed himself into his usual stoic facade. "I don't need your charity, but I guess I can spare a few minutes to eat," he finally said, his voice lacking its usual edge.
If it was one of his tricks, he was hiding his hunger well. He neatly stacked the papers on his desk to make room for the tray. You noticed his raised eyebrow.
"I won't be able to finish all this," he started, but his words trailed off as he saw you pull a chair and sit down. You smiled, making yourself comfortable.
"Of course you won't. Did you really think I'd let you eat alone?"
"That would have been better," he muttered.
"We can't always have what we want."
You poured yourself a drink and filled Kaz's cup. The room filled with the sounds of utensils clinking and the quiet chewing as you both focused on your meals. In your head, you hadn't expected it to be this easy to convince him to eat withh you.
As you searched for salt on his desk, you realized it was within Kaz's reach.
"Can you pass me the s—?"
"No."
You sighed, not surprised by his response, and reached for it yourself. You caught his side-eye, and you smirked back.
Kaz took another piece of bread, then spoke up. "Since you have free time during the night, I've decided to assign you to night patrols with Inej," he said, his eyes still on his plate as yours widened in disbelief.
"What?" you exclaimed, shock evident in your voice and expression.
"You heard me. You'll be joining Inej on her patrols."
"But I have other things to do—"
"Not things more important than contributing," Kaz interrupted, his stare silencing any protests. You groaned and took a big bite of chicken.
"But you won't split the pay with Inej. You'll have your own payment."
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?"
Kaz scoffed. "It always does."
His words stirred a wave of nostalgia within you. Memories of past jobs, where you were treated differently when it came to money compared to the other Dregs, flooded your mind. You were always the happiest one, comparing salaries with Anika and Muzzen, knowing yours was the highest. Kaz had his own way of showing favoritism when it was just the two of you building the Crow Club from scratch. His very own version of your special treatment.
Suppressing your grin, you took another bite, relishing the comfortable silence that enveloped the two of you.

CG!Howdy Pillar x Little!GN!Reader Headcanons
Side note : GN = gender neutral
✿ I think Howdy would definitely take on the role of caregiver whether you were together or not, he just gives me those vibes (◡‿◡✿)
✿ If you were little at the shop, he would let you sit at the counter with some paper and a box of crayons
✿ If you like juice he’d make sure you have a snack with your favorite juice or if you don’t like juice, whatever you like !
✿ He’d of course make sure you drink water as well, can’t have you drinking juice juice/milk/soda. he’d give you what you like but in strict moderation
✿ It’s the bodega , so of course he’d occasionally have books for sale. to keep you entertained he’d had kiddie books for you to go through, and if it’s slow enough, he’d sit with you and read you a story
✿ I’m not sure how big the interior of the bodega is but I imagine it at least has a employee break room, despite Howdy being the only employee there. I like to think it’s like a townhouse situation, house upstairs, shop downstairs
✿ Anyways, for nap time he’d keep a nice little pull out couch in the break room for you whenever you get sleepy or need to lay down for a minute
✿ He’d keep spares of your favorite comfort items there as well, extra blankets, pillows, your favorite type of stuffie, pacies and bottles (if you use them of course) and teether toys as well !
✿ Since Howdy is the only employee at the bodega, I’d imagine he’d had those “out for lunch, be back soon!” signs on the front door. He would either pack you a lunch or make a simple one in the employee break room. He’d eat with you, and if you needed help eating, he’d gladly hold your food up to your mouth and make airplane noises
✿ Howdy would definitely color with you when he can as well! If hes done cleaning the store and stocking up he’d sit with you and help color in coloring books or make little doodles for you and your fellow neighbors
✿ If it was nap time and you wanted to cuddle I think he would definitely join you in a nap session, especially with how hard he works
✿ Check ins ! He would check in every so often to make sure you’re doing good , he’s always worried you mightn’t be doin to well and he doesn’t know (╯︵╰,)
✿ He would totally organize play dates if you’re comfortable with other neighbors ! I think having a play date with Julie or Sally would be so much fun

GIF CAPTION - "I'm sure we can figure somethin' out kid"
Ever since you were a child, you had been an absolute ball of chaos. You were the destructive, clumsy, hyper, uncoordinated kid. You were always breaking something, causing some sort of commotion or jumping around chaotically.
What you didn't know was that you were the unwilling Avatar of Seth, the Egyptian God of Chaos. Your parents had pledged their allegience to Seth in the past in exchange for power, but they soon realised that the deal they struck was not as ideal as they had hoped. After trying every possible option to back out of their deal, they took the cowards way out, leaving you alone, with the burden of eventually completing Seths demands.
Seth had been with you since you were very young. Every since you had been abandoned at the orphanage, Seth had followed and loomed over you almost constantly. He wasn't a patient God, and as much as he wanted your devotion, he needed to wait until you were old enough to complete his wishes. Your parents left their duties to you, he'd wait until you were capable of completing them.
As you grew older, you became more aware of yourself and others. You noticed that other kids your age didn't seem as destructive as you, they were careful and calculated and didn't seem to destroy everything they touched.
You became extremely insecure of yourself, as the difference between you and everyone else became highlighted more and more. You tried your best to tone back your often bubbly personality. You focussed more on your actions, carefully trying to do things as everyone else did, without any destruction. But as much as you attempted to tame the chaos, you always ended up clumsily breaking or ruining something.
You knew destruction was ingrained in you by the time you were a teenager. You didn't know it was because of a lurking Egypian God, but you knew for sure that it made you an undesirable candidate for adoption or any type of fostering.
You had been in and out of homes, most people feeling that you were too much of a burden because of your clumsy habits. No matter how much potential adoptees said they could handle any child with their needs, they always ended up giving up because of your unavoidable destruction.
You had given up hope of being adopted into a nice loving family in your mid teens. It was clear there was something wrong with you, you just didn't know what. You thought maybe you were cursed. Maybe some you had broken a mirror or something when you were a kid and now you had perpetual bad luck. Whatever the case was, you had accepted that you were unwanted.
Suprisingly, you were told someone was interested in adopting a kid around your age. It had been months since the last inquiry. You weren't expecting much.
You were taken to the potenial adoptee's house by a member of the orphanage. You were greeted kindly at the door
"Hey, you must be y/n, right?" he said, gesturing for you to enter.
You nodded smally, putting your hands in your pockets, tensely walking in, head down and watching carefully where to step in fear of ruining this persons home. You stood still in the middle of the room while he walked around casually.
"Well I'm Jake, I'm sure they already explained it to ya, but I've been considerin' adoption for quite some time. I'm happy to give you a home here if you'd like, course it'll be completely your decision if you'd like to stay, but you can have a look around if you'd like," he explains.
You just continue to stand still, slightly glancing around at the home. It was nice, seemed pretty warm and safe. A nice warm safe environment that you'd end up ruining - you were sure of it. You just sighed to yourself, closing up and making yourself smaller.
"Would you like me to show you around?" he offered considerately. You just shrugged.
"Alright, well over here is the kitchen area. All the basics of course," he said, you looked over as he gestured to the kitchen.
"I've got an impressive record collection over here. I love the classics." You looked to see a bunch of classic rock posters on the wall and a few stacks of records next to a record player. You smiled softly, recognising some of the artists.
"Through here is the livin' area," he said. You carefully and quietly stepped after him into a different room. "Couch, tv, cool blankets," he said, holding up a blanket with a cat pattern on it. "Custom made. Maybe we can get you a custom blanket if you decide to stay, huh? Sound like a good idea?" he inquired.
"Maybe..." you said softly. Though admittedly, it did sound genuinly nice. But if your adoptive history was anything to go by, this guy wouldn't last more than a few months looking after you, so there wouldn't be much point looking forward to it.
"This is my cat, Felisa." he picks up his cat, showing her to you. "She's friendly," he hints, letting you know its okay to pet the cat.
You lean forward a bit, looking at the cat in his arms, your eyes curious and intrigued. You had stayed away from animals for so many years, you didn't want to hurt them. This cat looked nice and fluffy, your hand twitching in your pocket as you felt the urge to pet it. But your insecurity held you back. You stepped away.
"She's fluffy," you commented quietly. He nodded, casually putting her back down onto the couch where Felisa streched out before settling down. He moved on, opening a door to another room
"Back here is the spare room. It's pretty empty cause I'm not sure what you like and that. But we can make it look however ya want, it'll be fully your space." He was right, it was basically just an empty room with a spare bed, bookshelf and desk. It was nice to think of the possibilities of what it could look like, but you couldn't imagine for long, the reality was that it wouldn't last.
You turned to step out of the room, quickly coming to a halt as your forehead ran into Jakes hand.
"Careful kid, don't want ya to get hurt," he said as you stepped back, rubbing your forehead and discretely covering your embarassed expression.
"Sorry," you mumbled. You had been going so well, but of course you clumsily almost walk into the doorframe like an idiot. You look at the ground in shame.
"All good. Just an accident," he said nonchalantly, not seeming to mind too much that you just stupidly walked into something in clear sight. At least he noticed though, otherwise that would of hurt quite a bit.
After he showed you around, you went back to the orphanage to speak about your thoughts. He seemed nice, you were just sure it wouldn't last. But maybe, maybe you'd give adoption one more chance.
The first few weeks living with Jake were the usual. You were awkward and quiet, shy and reserved. When you were younger, your bubbly personality would deter people, so you learned to just supress that part of your self the majority of the time. You couldn't risk Jake seeing you being yourself, not when he had just welcomed you into his home.
As for your clumsiness, uncoordination and overall destructive nature, Jake actually seemed to be handling it pretty well. Of course, you'd always try your best not to break anything, moving as carefully as you could, but it was inevitable. You ruined things. But it turned out that Jake had amazing reflexes, nothing like you'd ever seen before. It was like he had a sixth sense, and just before disaster struck he'd put out his hand, move something, or grab whatever was needed to avoid anything breaking.
You were absolutely shocked at the ability. The amount of things you'd dropped accidently or knocked over and he'd suddenly caught was impressive. So far, you hadn't broken anything, thanks to Jake's help.
Though you couldn't help but feel bad. Was your clumsiness putting him on edge? Did he always need to be aware around you just incase you stupidly almost broke his things?
Even though your insecurity was loud, you also noticed a sense of hope growing within you. If Jake was able to stop you breaking things, would there be a possibility that he'd let you stay with him? Like....forever?
A month went by and things had been good. You were just as clumsy, but there hadn't been any major disasters like there usually is when you stay with a different family.
That was until your fears came true and you inevitably ruined someone elses belongings. That being one of Jake's glass cups. It may seem trivial, but such a mistake had led other families to reject you in the past.
You simply wanted to get some water while Jake looked for a movie for you both to watch, when the glass slipped from your hand, smashing onto the ground into many pieces.
You paused, eyes widening in horror as you realised what you had just done. A wave of fear travelled through your body as you dropped onto your knees and began trying to collect all the broken pieces of glass before he could see. Your mentally cursed at yourself for your clumsiness. You should of known this would happen.
"You alright, kid?" you hear Jakes concerned voice as he comes into the kitchen.
"Yes! No problem here!" you call out, voice shaking as you continued to try clear the mess on the kitchen floor, not caring if the glass was hurting you.
"I just heard a smash, did somethin' happen?"
"No! Nothing at all!" you try convince him. But he walked in and saw you on the ground, rushing to hide your mistake. He was definitely more concerned at how distressed you seemed over this than the fact that his cup was broken. He tried to ease your worries.
"Just a cup? That's alright kid, accidents happen-"
"I'm sorry! I'm really sorry! I didn't mean to break it, it just slipped from my hand and- and-," tears began to well in your eyes as the acceptance that you'd be rejected again set in. You sunk lower to the floor.
"It's okay if you don't w-want me anymore, I understand! It's okay. I break e-everything I touch. I don't know why I'm like this! I'm going to ruin everything you have so it's better if I just leave now, before I destroy all your things," you sniffled through tears.
Jake knealed down, avoiding the broken glass on the floor between the two of you.
"Take a breath kid, you're alright. It's just a cup, nothin' that can't be easily replaced," he said softly. You did as he said, trying to calm yourself with a breath as you sniffled and wiped the tears from your eyes. Jake looked to you genuinely.
"Something like this isn't going to make me want you any less, truely, kid."
"But I broke it...." you whispered.
"It's all fine. Just an accident. I've broken plenty of things in this house," he relates to you. Everyone was clumsy now and then, but you were destructive on a whole different level. "How about we clean this up?" he proposes calmly, standing to grab a dustpan.
You just watched with wide eyes as he casually walked back and began sweeping up the glass on the floor. He hadn't yelled at you yet. Hadn't critised you for your mistake. Hadn't threatened to kick you out and hadn't said he didn't want you anymore. Instead he helped clean up the mess. You couldn't sense any judgement coming from him because of your mistake, that was new to you.
He finished cleaning up the glass as you stood silently, cautiously waiting for his next words and what they would mean for you.
He turned to you and smiled softly.
"All done," he stated before grabbing the small medical box he kept at the top of one of the cupboards. All done? How was he being so casual? Was he really just going to move on from this?
"You'll need a couple bandaids, glass must've scratched your hands a bit," he said, gesturing to your slightly bloody hands. You hadn't even noticed you'd hurt yourself, you were too focussed on hiding your mistake that it didn't even matter in the moment. It wasn't too bad, but Jake still wanted to make sure you were okay.
He carefully washed the blood from your hands under the tap, making sure there was no glass in your skin.
"I broke your cup...." you whispered in shame, not being able to move past your mistake.
"It's not a big deal, kid. It's all been cleaned up now," he says, still remaining so calm and non-judgemental. He began placing some bandaids on your hands.
"But I'll break other things as well.....it always happens....it's just how I am," you admit sadly. "It's why no one wants me....even though I try so hard not to be, I'm just destructive."
Jake looked at you, his face unhappy. His dissapointment in humanity was showing. He couldn't believe that people had made you feel unwanted for something as simple as a mistake.
"I'm not gonna throw you out for this, kid. I'd never do somethin' like that, I promise," he assures you. You nod hesitantly.
"And hey, if you're really worried about breaking stuff, why don't we change some things around the house so you don't have to stress all the time?" he suggested.
"Change stuff? Like what?" you ask nervously.
"How about some reusable plastic cups, plates and bowls? I'm fine with packing away some of the stuff around the house if you're scared of knocking it over. And we can replace anything delicate so that you don't need to worry about damaging it. We can bubble wrap or add padding to some of the edges and corners so that you won't get hurt. That would benefit both of us I think, I've run into this island bench way too often," he laughed softly.
You listened in suprise as he voiced his willingness to compromise instead of simply sending you away again. Instead of demonising your destruction and clumsiness, he was already thinking of solutions to make you feel more comfortable living with him.
"And if something does end up broken, we can deal with it. Humans make mistakes, things break, I won't make a big out of it, I promise."
".....promise....?" you ask unsurely. Should you trust his words after everything that had happened to you in the past?
His genuine smile assures you as he nods. Maybe he really was telling the truth and maybe he really would accept you for who you are.
All you could do now, was trust him and hope for the best.
After making some changes around Jake's house and some trial and error, you two had come up with various solutions to your clumsiness. Things seemed to be working and you were happier than ever. You felt as if staying here, with Jake, for a long time could be an actual possibility.
Of course, things were still chaotic sometimes, but there were measures in place to stop anything from breaking, so you didn't have to constantly be in high alert. It was nice to just be present, feel safe and be yourself. It was such an unfamilar feeling, but you welcomed it gladly.
Infact, you're chaotic tendancies had turned into an enjoyable time for you and an amusing time for Jake.
You and his cat, Felisia, had matched eachothers energy, and some times you both just chased eachother around the house, having care free fun. Not to mention the frequent meow offs you two had.
Each day, you felt more and more like yourself, like who you really were. You had lost yourself over the years, hiding your personality in fear of criticism, but being around Jake helped bring the best out of you.
You felt safe to speak your mind about anything and everything, and Jake happily and attentively listened, no matter how big or how small the thing was you were speaking of was. Seeing you authentically express your excitement had become one of Jake's favourite things.
You found yourself becoming more comfortable in your own body. You didn't feel like a hazard or a danger in the house because you didn't have much need to worry anymore, and it helped ease the constant tension you used to carry around with you. You were more relaxed, more expressive, more yourself.
Things had actually turned out perfectly. You had never expected to find belonging, and yet here you were, feeling the best you had ever felt with your new adoptive parent. You had a feeling that Jake was going to stick around for a very long time, and that's all you wanted, this was everything you had ever wanted.
You had been living together for a year now, and you couldn't wish for anything more.
You thanked Jake often, but you felt as if you had never really thanked him for everything he had done for you.
It was a sunny afternoon, you two had just arrived home after a happy picnic at the local park. You were sitting on the couches in the living room, the sun from the window illuminating you both. You gently pet a sleepy Felicia beside you, looking over to see Jake, his eyes closed, a content and relaxed smile on his face as he leaned back onto the couch.
Everything felt right.
You leaned back onto the couch as well, sighing softly as Felicia stretched and snuggled to your side. You took in the moment.
After a little while, Jake slowly stood up, heading over to the kitchen.
"I'm gonna get dinner going," he said softly. Your eyes followed him as he stretched his arms into the air, stretching after sitting down for a bit.
You leaped up without hesitation and wrapped your arms around him tightly. He stumbled back a step in shock, his arms hovering over you as he tried to get a look at your expression as you squished your face against his jacket.
"Woah kid, you alright?" he voices, worried you were upset. You nod against him and he pats your shoulders gently, feeling relieved that you were okay.
"Thank you....for everything......" you whisper. He smiles to himself, looking down at you.
"Of course kiddo," he pats your back affectionately.
"This is everything I ever could of hoped for," you admit. Jake nods in agreement, genuinly thinking the same about you.
"This is everything I could of hoped for too kid," he says softly, hugging you back securely.
~~~
A/N: Okay. So. Um. I guess it's been a while huh?......Um....yeah. Turns out life gets kind of busy when you're working and studying your first semester of University at the same time.
I hope I didn't change it too much and that it is enough like the request! I chose to just write for Jake, hope thats alright! I wasn't too confident on how to write his dialogue, but I imagined it as a sort of New York accent, feel free to read it however you'd like to though.
I've honestly got very little experience with the adoption system, so I tried to speak of it vaguely, but if theres any obvious issues, let me know and I'll be happy to change them to be more accurate.
Also I totally forgot I was supposed to be inlcuding Seth in the story. Maybe a part 2 where she comes of age and Seth starts giving her orders. Perhaps Jake can help her out since he's also enslaved to Khonshu???
Second semester of University is starting up soon, so I'll probably dissapear for a long time again. Hope I'll be back at some point though :)
I'm more active on my art Instagram, if you'd like to follow its @/sadly_a_ghost
Have a wonderful week :)
Hii! Congrats on 50 followers!!! 💜 for the prompts list thing, could you do like. Any of them with Pippin? also the forehead touch prompt is so cute please I can’t 😭
I don't often have ideas for Pippin, so this was a treat to write! Just for everyone to know, I'm not answering requests in order. This just happened to be the quickest one to write. Since I had my pick of prompts, I decided to do one I didn't think would get much attention. I hope you like it!
Burden - Peregrin Took
Tumblr media
Boromir had been your friend ever since he had helped you become a member of the King's—or the Steward's, you supposed—Guard. His perseverance paid off, as you were now one of the most capable guards and most loyal to him. You were honored to be asked to accompany him to the meeting in Rivendell.
That was where you first met the Hobbits. Your first impression was that, well, they were awfully small. You could tell that Boromir shared your concern for their safety. It was difficult to not view them as children, and you wondered how on earth you were going to keep the poor little lads safe when so many things threatened you all. So you resolved to do anything you could to keep them up on their strength and their fighting prowess.
You had an especially soft spot for Peregrin, or Pippin, as he called himself. He was the youngest of the group, and you couldn't help but be especially fond of him and his antics. Gandalf always rolled his eyes when you shot him looks for his poor treatment of the kid, but he always eased up afterward. You supposed that was part of the reason he kept quiet on this particular occasion.
The others, however, did not.
"It's unwise to expend your energy in such a way, mellon nin," Legolas pointed out as you once again readjusted Pippin as he rode on your back.
"Aye, he's right," Gimli agreed. "He's got his own legs, y'know."
"He's tired," you argued. "We've been sword training. Not to mention, his legs are much shorter than ours, you can't expect him to keep up without a little extra help."
"The others seem to be getting on just fine," Aragorn pointed out, but his smile betrayed his thoughts on the matter.
"Well, I'll carry the others as well, if they want," you said stubbornly.
"I'll carry two and you carry two," Boromir said, chuckling but clearly serious.
"That's alright," Frodo interjected.
"I wouldn't be opposed," Merry commented, and Sam bumped him with his elbow. "It's not necessary, though."
You thought it was strange how quiet Pip was on the matter. He was quite the chatterbox, most of the time. Perhaps he was just embarrassed.
"He's fallen asleep," Boromir leaned over to whisper to you, a smile clear in his voice.
"Aw," you cooed, now extra careful to avoid jostling him more than necessary.
"You cannae do that forever, lass," Gimli warned you.
"Ah, but each time I do, I get a little stronger, so perhaps one day I can," you suggested brightly.
"It's a good thing I've practiced for this," you said with glee, teeth chattering as the fellowship traversed the treacherous mountain pass. You and Boromir had stayed true to your word, and Aragorn had joined your little pact. You carried Pippin still, Aragorn carrying Sam and Frodo, one on each arm, and Boromir holding onto Merry.
"You can put me down as soon as you're able," Pippin said suddenly. "You must be getting tired, and I—I can make it on my own."
"Nonsense, little one," you said, the cold making it hard to hold a smile, however much you wanted to. "I could carry you to the ends of the earth under one arm."
"I just don't want to burden you."
You tilted your head down, finding a temporary respite from the wind by setting your forehead against his. "You could never burden me, Pippin.
"I'm just trying to help you do the great things I know you can do." You weren't quite sure what those things were yet, but if there was one thing you learned growing up, it was that a little encouragement never hurt anyone. "But if you want to walk by yourself, I'll set you down as soon as the snow is shallow enough. Unless you have the elven secret to floating atop it?"
Pippin laughed, his wind-bitten cheeks a frosty red. "Not yet, but I'll try to figure it out."
Father! Zhongli X Son! Male Reader Modern AU Headcanons
Tumblr media
Zhongli is like no other dad, he's literally the universe's best dad, and you are glad to have him as your dad as much as he is glad to have you as his son
Like any other relationship with fathers and sons, you two would have ups and downs, but you guys would always make things right for each other
Zhongli would always teach you how to be a man, and most importantly, a good person. He also taught you how to save money too, typical Zhongli, hahaha
Whenever you are feeling down, Zhongli would always be there to remind you that you matter
Even as a young adult, you still get tons of love and support from your dad. Everyone wishes he was their dad, but they would always tell you that you are the luckiest person to ever have a man like Zhongli as your father
Like every other parent, Zhongli won't be able to be with you forever, because a day will come where he will leave this world. But don't be sad, because he would always watch over you, even in the afterlife
You could do Guzman (Pokémon) x teen! Little brother figure male Reader platónic plis (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Guzma With a Little Brother Figure
A/N: Oh my god this is my first request and also my first time writing a Pokémon fic I'm so excited, I hope this lives up what you were hoping :) (although I have to be honest I never actually finished sun and moon)
Male reader (teen), platonic
Tumblr media
So let's get the one obvious thing out of the way, which is that Guzma is really bad at emotions
If he really does care about someone, he's not very affectionate, but he shows it in other ways
That new hoodie he gave you? It was cheap and thought it would suit you, don't think too much into it (do, actually)
He bought you an ice cream? It was especially hot in Alola that day, he can't have you fainting on him
it's likely that he found you just like very other kid in team skull that he indirectly adopted, but something about you was probably different to make him see you as a little brother
The most likely option is that you were less aggressive than literally every other kid on team skull
Every other kid in team skull runs head first into trouble without his permission and comes crying to him about how they lost a battle, which annoys him to no end
At least you're a little smarter to not do that
If you do end up getting into trouble, he gets mad
Not at you but whoever tried to start trouble with you. Who has the AUDACITY to try and fight his totally-not-little-brother
He'll even send out his golisopod to intimidate anyone else around and make sure no one tries to mess with you again
Listen he knows what it's like to be bullied and there is no way he's letting it happen to you
If you left your family like I'm assuming most kids in team skull did, then he'll feel sad for you
I mean he feels sad for every kid in that situation but especially for you because he's closer with you
Even though he's not the best at comforting, he'll listen to you talk about your problems and what's going on at home
You've got a sucky family? Well good news now you have over about twenty brothers and sisters who are all there for you (plus Plumeria who makes sure that you're actually being taken care of)
Are you a trans dude? Well more good news, you've got the most affirming guy behind your back (let's be real most team skull kids give off the vibe they're trans)
He'll even give you clothing tips/get you to dress like him. It may not be the best look but it works and is very gender affirming
In general if Guzma is now your older brother, now you have a whole family in team skull
If you don't wanna go home, then welcome to the shady house
It may not be the best place to live, but Guzma makes sure that you're comfortable. he makes sure that you've got food, water, a place to sleep, and a roof over your head
You've gotta be a whole other level of stupid if you think he'll just leave you to fend for yourself
Guzma might not be the best caretaker or the best person in general, but he cares about you, and he's not gonna let anything happen to his little brother
Tumblr media
I stayed up way later than I usually do to write this just because I was so excited and I love Guzma with all my heart, ty for reading and have a nice day :)
Big Tiddy Hugs 🌻 Miles Morales/Fem!Reader
My Spiderwoman OC has big tits and loves hugging Miles. That's the plot. No name mentioned.
Tags: Fluff, friendship, hugs, platonic relationship, humour and Miles Morales appreciation.
🌻She thinks Miles is adorable. After joining the Spider-Gang and fighting the Spot, she admires his strength of character, and is proud of how much he's grown up since the short time she's known him.
🌻Mind reading is a skill everyone has in her universe, and she used it to help find him when he was sent to Earth-42.
🌻Because of this, she got a real sense of how he felt about everyone: his parents, Hobie, Gwen, everyone. And she felt the most terrifying moments of his life: the uncertainty of his future, the debilitating fear of the loss of his loved ones, and the fatal rejection he felt from the Spider Society.
🌻She couldn't help but hug him (or think about hugging him) every time she looked at him. He'd been through so much and he didn't need to tell her to her face he'd heard her thoughts too.
🌻One time, she pulled him into a hug when they were out with Hobie and Gwen in his universe. It was a warm hug, but like always, his face was buried into her tits.
🌻Gwen and Hobie usually found it very funny, but Miles was embarrassed, more so than usual.
🌻"Aha, thanks. Um, could you let me go now?"
🌻She pulled away to look up at him, as she was so short compared to everyone else, yet still held onto him tightly.
🌻"Why?"
🌻"I mean, uh...".
🌻"You don't want to hug you? Am I not allowed to show affection?"
🌻She knew what the elephant in the room was, but it was normal in her universe to be so touchy. So much so if someone was crying, everyone around would hug them, or assist them in any way they could, and the favour would be reciprocated just as freely.
🌻She was instinctively offended, she couldn't stop the tears from clouding her vision. Miles saw and immediately regretted pulling away.
🌻Hobie and Gwen snickered, but avoided Miles' glare. In a way, she reminded him of his mother, so he felt that omnipresent need to listen and do what she said. She was almost twenty-five, it wasn't the weirdest thing in the world.
🌻She had that innocent, almost sultry look (if it wasn't for the tears) he felt she used on Hobie too many times to count on her face.
🌻"Nah, nah. It's cool. You're right- ah!"
🌻She resumed the hugging position, Miles being near-crushed by her tits. But it was warm, and as she hummed in joy, Miles began to feel it was actually pretty comfortable. He was starting to get used to this.
Bonus:
🌻Hobie and Gwen are awkwardly standing, their mouths slightly agape at them staying like that for what felt like forever.
🌻"Can't remembe' the last time I gotta be face-first in her tits like that."
🌻"Goodness you're so cute!"
🌻They watch as she releases him to pinch his cheeks, and they're even more confused when they see Miles smiling with soft eyes. Then slowly, Gwen turns her head to face Hobie:
🌻"Are you serious, Hobie?"
🌻"What? Little man's getting more action from ma girl than me."
(Yes, my OC and Hobie are together- or at least screwing lol).
Kiri x sibling reader who struggles with being an outsider and feels alone?
an extra finger to hold
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing ; sister! kiri te suli kìreysì’ite x gn!sibling! reader
taggings ; 🪽🍄🐚🫧
notes ; my first request! tysm for this, and i’m so sorry it’s short! this was written in some of my classes and i don’t have much free time lately! i am expecting a break from the workload soon though so i’ll be more consistent then!
summary ; kiri has noticed her younger sibling distancing themself from everything and finally steps up.
1.4k words
Tumblr media
you were the third sully child, older then lo’ak and tuk yet younger then neteyam and kiri. of course, this made you the middle child. on top of that, you had inherited your fathers extra finger, eyebrows, and low set queue.
your brother, lo’ak, and sister, kiri, had also received these traits. however, they had gained their mothers higher queue. neteyam and tuk also had your fathers queue. this left you with the most human traits among your siblings.
being the olo’keytans child did not save you from the relentless teasing from other navi children. pureblood navi children. when you were younger the bullying was more commonly said to your face in harsh remarks.
“look! they have an extra finger!”
“that’s so weird…they’re a demon!”
the words were said with laughter, but that didn’t help you. now that you’ve grown slightly older, nearing fifteen, the navi teens hid their torment. words were spoken between shushed whispers and behind hands.
“have you seen them up close? they have hair above their eyes…”
“they kinda look like a prolemuris, right?”
whenever you’d look their way they would avert their eyes and carrying on with whatever they were doing, as if nothing had happened.
you stopped attending your healing lessons after the navi girls there had been snickering at you, much to kiris dismay.
once the warriors and hunters in training caught wind of your strange features, they too made fun of them behind your back. eventually you left training as well, which your father did not agree with but was unable to ever find you and force your bow into your hand.
you spent most of your days strolling through pandoras endless forest. the great mother was the only one who had seized to make fun of you. eywa had chosen your father. he was a blessing. that’s what you tried to convince yourself.
you weren’t only left out of your clan but your family too. neteyam was the eldest, he is the most responsible and mature. kiri has such a wonderful connection to eywa. lo’ak is the trouble maker. tuktirey is the baby of the family. so what were you? the most human like navi on pandora? that’s the life you were given if you were to return to home, so you remained in the forest. alone.
despite being alone for most of the day, you still had to go home when night fell. everyone was always so occupied, nobody had the time for you.
your father is olo’keytan, he is planning attacks on the humans. your mother is tsakarem, she must care for tuk. your brothers are going at each others heads, lo’ak wreaking havoc and neteyam fixing it. kiri…what does kiri do?
Tumblr media
you were stuck in the loop of your normal life. wake up, maybe eat breakfast, then leave home before anyone had time to ask questions.
you were currently avoiding bow training with your father and brothers, so you cruised through pandoras forest. the flora and fauna never upset you, no matter how many times you had seen it.
you’ve always been jealous of kiris connection to the moon you lived on. she was a blessing from eywa. your father and sister had been blessed, why weren’t you?
not a day goes by where you don’t think about what it would be to be normal. to shave your eyebrows and cut off your pinkies. of course you’d thought about it before, you had messily cut the hair above your eyes when you were younger, and binded your pinky and ring finger together.
other times, you would go out in the clan with your face covered, not revealing your hands and get treated normal for once. you had gotten genuine greetings that day. the sarcastic “i see you”s weren’t the same, you had only received those because you had been with your family, the leaders. when you’re alone you go ignored.
you had tried your best to stay away from where the warriors would be training but there were some stragglers every here and there. you moved on quickly so they couldn’t see who you were. you stopped in your tracks while passing some teenager na’vi behind a tree as you heard your name being spoken.
“(y/n)? well thank eywa they aren’t here today either. i don’t know why their allowed to train. probably giving our secrets to the humans.”
the second boy laughed and added onto what his friend had said, “bro! their probably some sort of spy! do we even know if they’re actually half navi? what if they’re some dreamwalker the humans sent to watch over us..”
“right! that’s what i’ve been saying! let’s be honest, if they weren’t the olo’keytans child, they’d be exciled.”
the boys laughed with each other and you made your exit before you could be seen. it wasn’t the first time you had been made fun of but something about this was different. you weren’t sad. you didn’t feel the need to break out into tears. you had expected all of this, how could you truly be upset?
you entered back into the forest with a solid expression. no tears, no frowns, just there. and as you sat on the grass, for once you didn’t wish to be normal. you didn’t wish to be respected. you wished to be gone.
Tumblr media
“i am fine sa’nu. i am just going to head to bed, i’m tired and not hungry.”
your father chuckled at this, “tired from what? not training?”
“your grandmother tells me you have been skipping out on healing, what are you doing with this time (y/n)?” your mother added on.
your siblings weren’t focused on the conversation, they were talking amongst themselves. except kiri. kiri was listening.
“it is no big deal, i am staying busy throughout the day. now if you don’t mind, i’m going to sleep.”
if you were being honest, you wanted them to stop you. you wanted them to be worried and make you stay with them.
just before your mother was about to protest, tuk had ran to her crying.
“sa’nu lo’ak hit me!! look right here! look he hit me!”
your parents attention left you. jake scolded his sons and neytiri comforted her daughter. what about you? you raced off into your separate room, tears threatening to spill. this is how it always is. you finally have the slightest bit of attention and then your siblings rips it away. nobody is ever-
“(y/n)?”
it was kiri. she had entered your room just as you stormed off as tears fell. you quickly wiped away what you could without looking like you were just crying.
“kiri what are you doing here? tuk is crying you should go help her.”
“my sibling is crying. i’m staying with you.” she pushed herself onto your hammock where you laid.
“i’m not crying, truly.”
“i may not be the smartest but i am certainly not foolish. especially when it comes to my families well-being.”
you sniffled and looked away from her. how were you supposed to face her? everyone in your family had so many things going on, things they needed to handle, but here you are. crying over nothing.
kiri gripped your face and faced it back towards herself, “what troubles you?”
you paused for a moment and just stared into her eyes. you didn’t want to tell anyone, you weren’t going to. something about staring into your sisters eyes awakened something. she cared. you have someone who cares.
you broke out into gentle sobs as you told her everything, “kiri my life is awful. it’s horrible. everyone sees me as a demon, i am just like the humans. i’m not even true na’vi. i don’t belong here. i have too many fingers and toes, hair where it doesn’t belong, my queue is too low, nothing i do is right. there is no place for me in this family, i have no purpose here.”
your sister didn’t flinch. she held your face and moved on to hugging you as you continued. you fell into your big sisters embrace and continued crying and ranting. she brushed your braids out of your face and kissed your forehead. as you cried and held onto her it became clearer in your mind, you had kiri.
you had wondered what kiri’s role was in your family. an olo’keytan, a tsakarem, a responsible brother, a trouble maker brother, a baby daughter. that left you and kiri. you had believed you and kiri were both left out, sepreate from the family. but it wasn’t you, and kiri. it was you and kiri. you didn’t have an all loving clan, and you didn’t have the perfect family, but you had your sister. and right here, right now, she was all you needed.
would you please write an ineffable husbands fic where they cook together (at Azeriphale's request of course)? It can regard or disregard season 2. Just please make it fluffy and cute
3 O'clock Breakfast
Tumblr media
Ineffable Husbands x daughter-son!reader
Summary: Y/n stayed up late to finish the novel they were reading, and it ended sadder than they expected. Seeking out comfort in their Mother-Father, Aziraphale - a fellow book enthusiast, they didn't except him to insist upon a family Smile, Love breakfast at 3am. Their other parent isn't entirely pleased.
Content: hurt/comfort, reader is written as a teenager (can be older or younger but a teen nonetheless), tears over fiction are valid tears, Aziraphale is a sweetheart, Crowley is sour about having to get out of bed, the reader is Crowley and Aziraphale's biological child - don't ask me how that works, just sweet things with an ethereal family,
Rating: 14+ || 1.5k+ words
Tumblr media
Their eyes burned with exhaustion and the salt of tears. Five minutes ago, they could barely stay awake - but it was only a couple more pages and they couldn't stop there, not with what was happening in the story. Now the book sat, upside down and offending, on the nightstand by their bed. The tears wouldn't stop, it was a numb sort of cry. They should have seen this coming. Everything was leading up to it they had just hoped...but no. They wanted their parents - someone they could rant to who would share in their grieving. They wanted Aziraphale. He was the one who recommended the stupid book to begin with. But they weren't mad, not really, just grieving and tired.
Sliding out of bed, they made the trek from their room to their parents' down the hall. They paused at the door to wipe their eyes and clear their airway with a sniffle, then gently pushed it open. "Are you guys awake?" They asked, feeling fresh tears block up in their throat at being so close to their parents. Why did it have to work that way? One second you think you've got yourself under control and then your parent speaks or shows up and suddenly you're crying again. The bedside lamp switched on and Aziraphale sat up, Crowley grumbling unintelligibly and rubbing at his slitted yellow eyes. "Darling? Is everything alright?"
They made their way to his side of the bed and Aziraphale opened his arms to welcome them into his freely offered comfort. Their tears were now back in full, and they wrapped themself around the softness of their Mother-Father with the need to be held. Crowley sat up and exchanged a look with his husband. "Love, are you alright?" he asked, his voice thick with sleep. "I-I fin-finished it." They sobbed into the collar of Aziraphale's shirt, and he made a sound of understanding, nodding. "The novel I lent you? Did you enjoy it? I do believe the ending was quite sad, I was rather dewy eyed over it as well."
"Wait, all this is about a book?" Aziraphale shot Crowley a look of warning. "I do believe it is. A rather emotional story, wasn't it love?" Their child mumbled something in to Aziraphale's shirt that might have been 'yes' or perhaps 'fuck you'. Crowley couldn't believe he'd been pulled out of what might have been a dream, or perhaps a memory, either way it involved Freddie Mercury, just for this. Why would anyone ever want to read if this was the result? "Do you want to sleep with us tonight, darling?" Crowley asked, flopping back down with his head on his pillow. He looked at the clock, the red lettering projected an offensive 3:07AM.
Y/n sat up and wiped their eyes, then laid their head back down on Aziraphale's shoulder, looking out. He rubbed their back soothingly, always so empathetic. "I don't think I can sleep right now." Aziraphale hummed, an upturned chipper to roll the sound from his throat. "Well," he said, a breathless excitement and loving smile that cast one identically on to the tear puffed face of his child. His little world right there, teary eyed and oh-so lovable, in his warm and inviting lap. "Why don't we go downstairs, and I make us a pot of tea? Perhaps some breakfast?" Crowley groaned and threw his arms up over his face in exhausted exasperation - both husband and his child ignored him. "Can we make pancakes? With toppings?"
Aziraphale smiled. "Why, of course! Anything you'd like! And we can all make it together!" Crowley sat up, glaring. "Woah, hold on. All of us? I never said anything about breakfast, I don't even like breakfast." Aziraphale guided y/n to stand up and then he followed suit, standing at the base of his side of the bed and glaring back at his husband while their child waited in the doorway, amused. "Well, Crowley, not everything is about you. Our child wants pancakes, now get up and come help us make them." Crowley and Aziraphale exchanged a long look, each silently daring the other to act against them. Finally, Aziraphale grabbed the bottom of the duvet and yanked it off the bed, sending pillows and sheets flying to the floor. Crowley yelled out in protest; y/n stood laughing in the doorway. He glared at them; they glared back playfully.
Aziraphale wacked Crowley gently on the foot. "Up." He demanded with an accusatory pointing of fingers. Crowley groaned in the most dramatic fashion and threw his legs over the side of the bed to stand up, cursing Aziraphale under his breath all the while. His husband and child didn't wait for him as they headed down the stairs to the kitchen. "So, what will it be? Chai? Chamomile? Earl Grey?" Y/n took a seat at the bar while Aziraphale hunted for the kettle. "Which ones do we still have?"
"Umm, let's see," Aziraphale set the kettle down on stove and searched the pantry for tea bags. "I can only find Chamomile. Will that be alright, my love? Would you prefer I made us some hot cocoa?" He waved the box of chocolate powder in the air, and y/n found themself fantasizing about tiny marshmallows. "Let's do hot cocoa." Aziraphale beamed and practically skipped his way back to the kettle. "I was hoping you'd pick that one." It was then that Crowley decided to make an appearance, now fully dressed. "Dad," they said, and he stopped in the middle of the walkway, looking at them with a raised brow. "We are planning to go to bed after this, you do know that, right?"
Crowley walked over to his kid, swaying in the way that Aziraphale and y/n often teased him for, and placed a kiss to the top of their head. "You might be, but I'm not." They looked at him with furrowed brows and confusion so obvious he could practically hear their question in his head. It was like looking into a mirror sometimes, looking at his kid - only they were every bit the angel their Mother-Father was. It was a shame, a damn shame. "Awe, it's too late for that now, sugar. I'm already awake." The clinking of mugs brought their attention back to Aziraphale, and Crowley took the seat next to y/n. "Ah, here we are!" the angel announced, setting two steaming mugs down in front of his little family. Y/n beamed at the little marshmallows sloshing against the walls of the cup, yellow eyes gleaming with delight.
Aziraphale retrieved his mug and lifted it for a toast, Crowley and y/n followed suit. "To the fascination that is human literature." Y/n echoed his toast and Crowley mumbled something about ridiculousness, they all took a sip of their cocoa, hissing as it burnt each of their tongues. "Perhaps we should have waited." Aziraphale commented, making a face at y/n who laughed and agreed. "Perhaps we should have all stayed in bed while we still had the chance."
"Yes, maybe we should have left you there," y/n teased, exchanging slitted glares with their parent. "But then you would have missed the pancakes." Crowley leaned back in his seat and rolled his eyes. "I don't even like pancakes." Aziraphale had started grabbing ingredients out of the pantry, y/n and Crowley got up to help. "How could you possibly know that? You've never even tried them." While Crowley grumbled pointless excuses, Aziraphale handed him the flour and the salt. Y/n grabbed the wet ingredients from the fridge. "Yes, yes, you don't care for human food," Aziraphale waved him off, setting an armful of ingredients on to the cabinet and nearly knocking over his hot cocoa. As soon as his arms were free, he picked up the mug and took a sip, y/n following suit. "However, these pancakes are special pancakes."
"Oh, really?" Aziraphale hummed, exchanging glances with his kid. He sent them a playful wink. "Yes, very special. Because we'll be making them as a family, Crowley. Isn't that nice?" The expectant look on his child's and husband's faces were one in the same. Crowley hated the way he never stood a chance against them. "Ugh, fine," He fought back a smile at the hugs that engulfed him immediately after he caved. "But only if the two of you will stop pestering me." Y/n and Aziraphale exchanged a grin and a nod, "Deal." they said in unison. Crowley leaned against the counter as y/n got out mixing bowls and Aziraphale began measuring ingredients, and he sipped his cocoa. It's going to be a long night, he thought and then, despite himself, he smiled. If this is what love does to a demon, it was pathetic. Yet he couldn't help but to allow it to warm him from the inside out. He was going soft.
"Hey, dad?" y/n asked, looking up at him bashfully. "I can't reach the mixer." Crowley sighed, putting emphasis in to an exasperation he didn't feel, and set down his mug. "I got it." Aziraphale looked up from his carton of eggs and smiled at the pair, his little family. Crowley pretended not to notice, and he purposefully ignored the smiles his loved ones sent each other - not so sneakily - behind his back. It would be a long night, indeed, having to keep up pretending he wasn't enjoying it. He wasn't, not really. Well...perhaps just a little.
The summer holidays have been good, despites the overwhelming heat making you sweat to your heart content.
You could handle the heat with your friends around you while making sure to stay dehydrated, really, whenever you went to see your friend weither it was to eat at a restaurant, harass shadow, skate around random places, try new tricks, race at S, discuss about skateboards and make skateboards : you could rarely every worry about the heat. It's like the heat never existed in the first place, but of course, as soon as you get home you will inevitably notice a shower is reallly necessary if you don't want to turn into a glue stick human form of thing just by sweating.
Time really does fly by when i'm around my friends.. you think to yourself, the summer holidays are coming to an end very soon..
And every nights i feel it.
This is going to be a long night for you, a very long night.
There is no better feeling than staring at a wall with closed eyes. If that makes senses.
In fact, you couldn't really sleep, you kept waking up every 2 hours, scared of missing your alarms, afterall you'd be bummed out if you were to miss your first day of school. It's not that you enjoy going to school at all, it's just that if you'd miss the first day of school you'd probably get into troubles with your parents, and you'd feel double lost at school, which isn't so cool to be honest.
So you kept trying to sleep, rolling around in your bed to try to find a comfortable position, and… stay here until you stop crying. Because yes, tears were leaving your eyes right at that moment, your eyes were burning and your head was hurting and it was hard to sleep. Breathing was a bit troublesome, it might seem dramatic, but you still felt all of these wandering emotions anyway.
You had some fears concerning school, or a lot of fears. You remembered all the bad years you spent, having to complete your homework in time and stay good enough to your teachers and parents no matter what, forcing yourself to try to even listen to the teachers' lesson and remember it, having to suck up all the weird looks from your classmates whenever you answered something dumb or did something weird from their point of view, while you had to look unaffected whenever the teacher or your classmates said something dumb… School wasn't a place where you could be yourself, it wasn't a place where you could express your opinion, it's not a place in which you're ever good enough, not a place where you feel able to develop any sort of potential if you had any, and it's not a place in which you had fun at, if anything, all the bad years at school were just taking colors away from life, a lot of colors. The endless homework to finish at night wasn't so pleasant aswell, you could remember the allnighter or allnighters to catch up on your homework or lessons. Hours of class felt more like a black hole sucking up all of your energy, what was the use of having energy and going through the day if you're going to do this your whole life? Was something you thought more than once or twice.
What if it happens all over again?
You really hopped to stay in the same class as Reki and Langa this year, but it wasn't for sure, you guys could be picked to be in different classes for all you know, why do you have to even change classes every years? It's a breeze when your class sucks but not when your class is actually somehow not that bad. And what about all the new people?
When you weren't in their class, you could recall zoning out more, dissociating more. Strangely enough, they usually seperate people from their friends so that they focus on the class, but you're more prone to focus if your friends are here, let alone, if they ask for your help with any homework, you feel a kind of responsability and a will to help, so your grades uncounsciously got better so that you could help out Reki who's being late on classes because he's staying up late to skate at S and barely listening at class, so you could also help out Langa who's having struggles taking notes and understanding everything, because even if he spoke japanese, he still had a hard time to adapt. But even if your grades were to be lower or not different, it felt way better when you were willing to work for it not just to not get in troubles, but also to help your friends. Maybe it wasn't entirely for you in that case, but it already felt better.
But whenever you mess up and feel unable to help, it feels bad. You actually had a bad dream once in which messing up continuously during group projects with your friends led them to burst into tears because it was really too much.
There's just, a lot of things to worry about. You have to study about your future, you can't just skate all day long and have fun with your friends, and they'll be fine without you, life isn't like that, it's not just about fun…
Ah…
You stared blankly at your arm.
You absolutely dreaded this day. School for you was like a survival game, you'd play, try not to fail and lose just like you'd go to school everyday and try to keep everything up to just not fall apart.
Well, to be honest, last school year was a bit more manageable with Reki and Langa around, surprisingly enough, they made your days at school usually less boring, and if the all three of you guys were unhappy or not doing good, you could complain together ; About the teacher's teaching methods, the way this or that spoke to you, the way you got caught watching skating videos instead of reading-
You could really cool down a bit with them around, things were way less stressful than they could have been. And somehow you felt more productive with less pressure felt.
So, in the end, maybe it wasn't that bad, you could get to spend more time with Reki and Langa, and you wouldn't have to die to the summer heat.
Or maybe not, maybe you won't end up in the same class, maybe you won't feel brave enough to sneak your phone between your pages to pretend to read anymore, maybe you won't be in a good class, maybe you'll get picked on by your classmates and maybe-
afterall, it is true that you could spend much more time with Reki, Langa AND your other friends outside of school, if they weren't on vacations without you that is. School can be a real seperation factor for friends, and it sucks, it can be very isolating.
But school is important, nontheless.
I think.
Are the all-nighters productive? Are they healthy? The stress, the social fears, just… everything overall that comes from school, except the time you spend with Reki and Langa and the rare lessons where you learn something that is actually helpful for you.
Probably not.
You've tried not to think about it, but really, the more time passes, the less you're able to sleep well or spend your days without worrying as to weither or not you're making the best of the summer holidays, without feeling guilty for doing nothing when the heat is killing you or you're tired. Time is so scary, the meaninfgul times fade away so fast, and you lose so much occasions on making the best of your life, time always gets you.
Finally, the morning came, you could hear the birds sing, the sun was shining through the curtains, making you regret ever opening your eyes who were now burning at the burning source of light, you wanted to hide under your pillow and blankets and never see the light again. Why get up when you can just sleep ? Your alarm rang, it gave you a headache, a headache that'll follow you probably all day long, you had to get up now. Goodbye to the everyday without worrying of what's coming next day. What a life.
I mean, everyone has to work or go to school, it's society, it's just life, there's nothing to complain about, be grateful that you have it easier than some people. Or even, most people.
Besides, you still have Reki and Langa right? It'll be okay, right? Even if you don't end up in the same class, you could look up to every ends of the days to skate together and every mornings to skate together, same for the free time.
That is, if your schedules aren't too different and if you even have the energy to skate and hang with your friends, you could remember days in which as soon as you'd get home, you'd fall to your bed, fall asleep and skip dinner, only to have to catch up on your homework in another stressful morning and find something to eat in the fridge your family emptied the night before.
School is back. Holidays were great, but everything came to an end. Nothing ever last forever, does it ?
You yawned and tried to stretch yourself to wake up but your eyes were shutting tight, your every single thoughts begged you to fall back asleep and rebel agaisnt whatever keeped you awake, before you knew it, 5 minutes already passed. If you wouldn't have put multiple alarms to wake you up every minutes, the amount of time in which you were late would have greatly multiplied, by ten maybe, well, if you were never late because of that ; that's because you skated very fast to school or ran. These alarms really pain you but they still save you, a great plenty of time, you probably would have been late right now without them. On the first day of school, your sleep schedule is not even set on time.
Be grateful.
You sit up and get up, feeling every ounce of your body wanting to fall down and just lie in the ground to sleep, you try your hardest to motivate yourself to get dressed, making a mess out of your wardrobe, you'd have to clean that later and put your clothes in order, or deal with it and have your parents scold you for it until next holidays, but really all the thoughts that came to your head were negative, you didn't even bother to think about your friends yet, you just wanted to sleep it off, sleep it off so much you wanted to cry, get away from reality. As you kept getting lost in your thoughts, your arm hits your wardrobe and furnitures.
Ouch. The hit was a bit brutal, you were stressed and you were scared. Your arm felt like it was burning, why did you have to get that arm hit and not the other? How lucky can you get? Is it a lack of luck or is it just your problem for not sleeping enough?
And before you know it, you already have to leave your house in 5 minutes. 5 fricking minutes, and you just got dressed.
Mornings were really fast, especially if you're as tired as you are right now. You could get up and leave your bed and you already have only 10 minutes left to somehow get dressed, eat, brush your teeth, check that everything is ready, make sure to use the toilets, wash your hands, and happily get out of the house with your skateboard to get to school! How you loved going to school every mornings!
Well, last year you could feel positive going to school most days, it's the year when you met Reki and Langa at, one of the most liveliest years of your life. But now that you know them, you rather spend time with them outside of school.
You were tired, completely tired, your heart was beating fast, so fast and hard it was hurting, like some sort of drums inside you, the bat would dum- dum- slap your heart out just to keep you awake. You could barely keep your eyes open, your hair was a mess, all you wanted to do was hide yourself under your blankets until the school year ends. You only want this to be a dream, it's just a bad dream, school never existed… Is hiding and denying all you're ever good at?
But maybe that's a bit harsh, isn't it ?
What a great start of the year, surely the year wouldn't go well if you kept that up.
You didn't have time to eat breakfast, or else you'd be late, so you started walking out of your room and you fought the stairs. Not literally don't worry, we respect stairs here
As you were about to step out of your house to get to school you receive a message on your phone on a groupchat. A groupchat between you, Reki and Langa.
"Y/n, we're waiting for you at our usual spot, where are you?? :("
You smiled, for a second there, you felt like summer holidays were still going on. You felt as if you had nothing to worry about. Your friends were really important to you, they held a special place in your heart. And they made you look forward to everyday, everyday felt more like a pleasant surprise with them around. Maybe just maybe, you don't have to worry about this school year.
Or maybe you do, maybe you do have to worry about this school year.
The messages having reminded you to take your skateboard, you grabbed your skateboard after turning off your phone, almost forgetting to take your skate, almost forgetting about how you got into skateboarding and almost forgetting the entire last year you've spent with Reki and Langa. Too busy overthinking about the past years before that one.
Maybe it was better to expect the worse to not have your hopes crushed, but would that make you happy?
You put your phone in your backpack, left the house, and pushed to get to your skateboard, trying to be careful of where you're riding despites your attention span being lower, trying to keep your foot well positionned and not accidentally press your back foot against the tail of your skateboard which would make you.. fall off if you press hard.
Skating was a bit harder this morning, the thought of school came back to you very soon and it drew out your motivation fast, very fast.
You were really tired so it was hard, but the thoughts of your friends cheered you up a bit, so you skated to your usual meeting spot, thinking about how Reki and Langa must be waiting for you right now. And soon enough, you recognized a shining red-head and a outstanding blue-head, you surely couldn't miss them by accident even if your vision was blurry, not a lot of people around there has had their hair dyed.
You wondered, would reki's head shine more with no hair or does it shine more with red hair?
They finally noticed you skating towards them, they turned to you, it seems like Reki was staring at his phone while Langa's head was peeking over his shoulder to see the screen. You waved at them and they waved back, you smiled instinctively, until you suddenly fell of your skateboard and rolled down the floor, making sure to protect your head while trying to keep your other arm safe. But you still hurt your arm, which is sadful.
"Ouchhh-" you yelped, usually you'd laugh whenever you fall of your skateboard, it was silly, you fell off because you kept your eyes on your friend and not the floor. You liked them just way too much. But you just didn't feel the energy in you to laugh, something just didn't click inside, you couldn't laugh. Maybe you're just grumpy because it's the morning, maybe you're just not in the mood. Whatever it was, you didn't feel the willpower to laugh it off as you usually do.
"Y/n !" Reki screamed running towards you "Don't be reckless, you hurt yourself at your last race ! " he crouched down to your level "here, let me help you" he took your arm and checked your bandages "did you even change them!? He asked frantically, eyes focused on your bandaged arm, as Langa walked towards you and caught your skateboard for you. —I forgot. you answered, in an honest and tired laugh, it was so hard getting even dressed in the morning that you forgot to check your bandages. —This can't be good.. The redhead sighed and looked at Langa Langa, pass me the bag Langa tossed him his bag over, hitting Reki in the face Ouch ! That wasn't cool Langa ! he complained —Sorry, i didn't mean to, are you hurt ? The blue haired boy panicked —No, i'm fine, anyways… Reki's hand searched for something in the bag Ah there it is ! He got his hands out of the bag and took out a disinfectant and some bandages Now let me check that."
Reki always had this sort of thing ready in his bag, as getting hurt is common when you skate.
He inspected your arm and your wrist, your bandages were getting red, he got rid of them to check your injuries "Oh they're healing faster than i thought, even though they should have already been healed, thank god they're still healing though. But you're bleeding." He smiled, almost motherly to you, making sure that you don't panick, the thought of reki as a mother was very funny to you as it crossed your mind, but the cursed images of reki being pregnant following your thoughts were more cursed than funny "I'm gonna have to use disinfectant, Just tell me if it hurts okay?" he uses the disinfectant carefully, you groaned in pain a bit but it was fine. "There we go." he then proceed to put some new bandages over your arm and wrist, and Langa complained " you never took this much care of me whenever i bled. —You never got really that injured, you only ever bled, it's nothing we all bleed from time to time when we skate. Reki tried to explain himself, still focused on your arm. —You let me faint. —Oh shut up, i panicked and ran to you for the record. —Like a prince in a shining armor ? you asked, randomly, Reki stopped bandaging your arm for a second, only a second, and then he continued bandaging your arm. —I wasn't charmed, I was already uncounscious. Langa argued —Are you falling in love with Reki or something Langa? You wanted to be charmed? You tried to tease him, Reki just finished bandaging your arm and jumped over to turn around and put the stuff back in his backpack, seeming a bit agitated and quick to hide his face, he then spoke —Don't say things like that y/n ! We're bros, nothing like that —I was speaking to Langa, not you. —Oh you get what i meant ! "
You didn't continue trying to tease them, this was largely enough and you enjoyed the way Reki was talking to you but turned away from you and Langa was just staring at the both of you completely zoned out, dumbfounded.
They were really fun to be around with. Your morning was already much less depressing, Reki really cared for you and Langa did too. You reallly hopped to be in the same class as them, even if you felt like a thirdwheel, you don't want classes schedules to disrupt your common routines.
For a moment there, it felt like you guys were already in the same class, but would that be too optimistic? Should you actually hope?
"So… Are you guys, perhaps… excited for school ?" you asked, curiously. They looked like they had much more energy than you, it's as if summer holidays never actually ended. Their face looked so bright, they seemed so happy and careless, as if summer never really ended. Reki and Langa looked at you curiously, finally, Reki spoke ;
"Definitely not. —Eh!? How can you have so much energy then!? I don't get you. —Personally, Langa speaks I'm excited whenever i can spend time with you or Reki, and school is important to me, i need to improve my japanese skills and understand how things work around there. Langa explained, honestly. —Right… Well, as long as i'm not a thirdwheel. —Don't even say that word, it makes me think about my final race with Adam. Reki groaned thinking about it, he acted like he was going to puke, Langa chuckled. —Was that race this bad? You were really good. —It was fun but.. I really don't enjoy skating against Adam and you know that Langa, i don't get you, you almost died when racing him down that crazy path last time ! —Oh, that's true. Langa recalled, having actually forgotten this detail —You really looked like you were falling mindlessly, you weren't even moving and then you suddenly moved and took your skateboard and won the race, what even got into you? You really scared me you know? I was worried. You both are crazy, you got injured last time too y/n Reki spoke, with a genuine troubled expression on his face. —Reki, you get injured much more than i do. You spoke, with a stern voice —The word fun saved me. Langa spoke, out of the blue, with full honesty in his voice —What? You mean the word fun we put on your fixed skateboard?"
Reki turned to Langa with a curious face. You looked at the time, you guys were already going to be late at this rate, you coughed "guys, we're going to be late." your tone was a bit harsh, but you really didn't want to be late.
"Oh crap! Langa, y/n, let's go ! " and there you guys went, skating to school, fast.
Your friends looked very energetic, it killed you that you couldn't be as energetic, honestly, it's been a few days or weeks since your energy drastically dropped to the thought of school, and you couldn't tell if your friends noticed, but you were afraid to be a burden to them. They were shining so bad, and you were starting to feel like you were staying in the dark, maybe you always were in the back afterall, but everytime, it seemed Reki, Langa or Miya found a way to cheer you up or make you feel like you belong.
Reki and Langa did a few ollies and some random tricks while you just cruised. It's crazy how they're late and still able to flex, have fun and pull up some tricks. Well, it was like this last year too.
You met Reki and Langa at school, and met your other friends at S, and these friendships really made your life much more brighter. Could it be constantly the case though? What if they were the one brightening up your days - but you weren't the one brightening up their days ? That thought hit you a bit inside, like a small bullet passing through your body, but slowly, and with barely enough pain, you felt a small wave of negative emotions, it hurts a bit, but you felt a bit empty, in a way.
You felt the air pass through your lungs, burning, as the cold air hits your face, and finally, you reached school. Somehow you made it despites the overwhelming feeling that the air is so heavy it'll crush your bones.
School is back. ~
You slid your skateboard behind your backpack and walked to your assigned classroom after the school announcement concerning the begginning of the year, you were not in the same class as Reki and Langa, of course.
That's not all that mattered though. Your grades mattered too.
You're not going to die by working a little and spend less time with your friends, come on. You could still spend time with them nontheless later.
Before you go, you exchanged a small wave in Reki and Langa's direction, they waved back; these two were in the same class it seemed. Maybe they were better without your grumpy-self though. They seemed much more happier than you were, were you just overthinking and dramatising everything?
You reached your classroom and when the teacher told you to, you sit down, taking the sit at the back, avoiding to talk to anyone. Why bother? Approaching people isn't on your to-do list at the moment.
The class was already loud and obnoxious, just like a circus. You paid no attention to the noises and as to avoid getting bothered by the noises, you stared at your desk and zoned out, thinking about all the times you went skating with your friends. It was the only thing you wanted to think about right now.
Despites your efforts to not be bothered by all these voices, you still heard a few people talk
"The manager of the fruit stand always sat and only sold vegetables —What!? You mean the fruit stand down your street ? —Yes, atleast the vegetables are cheap. So me and my mom always go there the saturday mornings. —I wouldn't buy my vegetables there if it was a fruit stand only selling vegetables…"
This random conversation you heard was completely unrelated to school, you sighed, but who were you to care? It seemed like people knew each other, you were probably going to end up alone this year, is it so bad though?
The teacher coughed and asked for everyone to be quiet, and the class continued talking. Why were you even here? This is supposed to be the first class, usually during the first classes people should be quiet, atleast on the first classes of the year. But who were you to talk? You can't lie, you really wished you could talk to Reki and Langa like this right now, but you guys aren't even in the same class.
Between all the talks you could hear, you heard another one, still completely unrelated to school, there was a brown-haired girl talking to a black haired boy, the girl looks cute you thought, the boy spoke : "Why do you LoOOooOOOoOve me Stanley? —I like your blue eyes. She replied as if it was a sufficient reason to like someone —Why did you only tell me now ? He stared at her with his PieRcIng BlUe EyEs —I didn't want any new girls stealing you away from me. Your classmate declared in full confidence —…Wow so possesive grrr~ He said before the two burst out laughing —You're so stupid the girl chuckled, a smile on her face —Stupid for you ? he asked, playfully "
And there you witnessed a newborn couple that was probably going to last a few days or weeks, on the first day of school.
Everyone didn't look like they cared about the first class. You wished you could not care aswell, but you cared, you cared a plenty lot, this was supposed to be important. You couldn't not care with all these anxious thoughts going on in your head.
Why can't i see? you thought to yourself, wondering why you couldn't see things the way your other classmates did. Everyone else seemed so much more happier than you did. Why do you have to be like this? Why can't you see things the way they see things? Why do you have to mess up so bad on this?
When you finally stopped your thoughts and snapped back to reality, you noticed the new couple stopped talking and were looking at you whispering some things. Shit, you stared too long. You quickly turned to look at your desk.
Finally, after some time the teacher managed to get the class to be silent, he presented himself, talked about how everything works this year, and asked everyone to present themselves one by one, to break the ice… apparently.
A girl on the left front beggined ; "My name is Mallory and i love riding horses on my free time. —You mean men? the boys snickered"
Long after that, it is finally your turn to present yourself.
"Uhm, i'm y/n.. and i love skating with my friends. —You have friends!? Someone random in the class exclamed themselves, even though they barely knew you for even an hour, some people laughed and the teacher told the class to be quiet"
It's crazy how people make assumptions on even people they never talked to and saw for only minutes of their lives. This is gonna be a long class, ice breaker wasn't really working out, was there even ice to break to begin with?
School is back, i guess. ~
The class ended, it's finally free time, you went to sit on your skateboard at the rooftop, the place you, Reki and Langa discussed going to if you were ever seperated at school and wanted to meet up. Eventually, Reki and Langa walked up to you.
The class was long, everyone was loud and judgemental, it was… definitely great.
"Hey, y/n" Langa spoke with a gentle voice "Wanna go skate in the playground ?" he asked and you looked at him, with a frown on your face "we're gonna get in troubles again, and i'm injured, for you to know." Langa insisted "But you still skated this morning despite your injury, and it could be fun, you seem down, come on come with us" he almost pleaded, you couldn't say no to him at this point, reki finally spoke "I mean it's your choice if you don't wanna skate i understand, but you're acting just like you were when we barely knew you, come cheer up a bit with us, won't ya ? If we get in troubles i'll take the blame if that reassures you." you looked at Reki, with a curious look on your face "How can you even take the blame for something like this ? —I don't know, I'll come up with something. Reki shrugged, you looked at the floor, a bit hesitant, but ended up saying —Fine fine. you saw the boys' eyes light up —Let's go then ! "
You stood up and took your skateboard with you.
You guys ended up skating at the corridors before reaching the playground, of course, a teacher was there and you ended up having to run away from a teacher with your skateboard in hands. You guys were caught as always and got in troubles, Reki did his best to put the blame on him but it didn't work out, now you three have to stay after school and help the janitors clean, atleast it's better that it's the three of you guys in troubles than only Reki. Ah, and the teachers took your skateboards, Reki literally groaned and Langa looked like he was going through all the stages of grief at that moment.
"Oops? Reki muttered under his breath when the teacher finally left you guys I hate cleaning He complained innocently —If it's with my friends i think it's okay, i help my mom clean the house most times. Langa said, looking as if he was recalling all the times he helped his mom with the laundry, the cooking and the overall house chores, as her husband died, Reki turned to you and spoke —Sorry, we didn't want to get you in troubles, we just thought you'd cheer up a bit since the first school day doesn't seem to be going well for you- —How was your class guys ? you asked out of nowhere, after having zoned out, cutting reki's speech off as if it was nothing —Huh!? Oh uh, i don't know, i didn't really pay attention, the window was more attractive. Reki answered, taken a bit off guard you didn't pay attention to what i was saying thou- —You mean the reflection of Langa next to you was more attractive? —How did you- i mean, no homo though. Reki scratched the back of his head, a bit embarassed, these two were so obvious, you stared at Langa, he seemed zoned out —Langa ? you called to him, he looked at you and then he said —I'm confused. —What are you even confused about ? Reki asked, with a nervous voice —I'm confused: when people ask me what's up, and I point, they groan."
You facepalmed.
"Dude?! When people ask you what's up they ask you how you are, not what's literally up ! Reki spoke, dumbfounded —Japanese is difficult. Langa remarked, thoughtful, looking at the ground —You mean english is difficult!? Reki retorted, remembering the many times Langa tried to teach him something in English —I guess any language can be difficult for anyone."
You were not participating in this conversation, staring in disbelief at Langa.
you zoned out, thinking about the way your new classmates were staring at you in class, and all the whispers you heard in your direction.
"say y/n, how was your class ? Reki turned to you, curious I mean, you're not in the same class as us and you asked us so.. —It was fine. "
Your answer was short and automatic, you know that tone and voice when you reply automatically and it's technically you talking but it doesn't feel like it's you - like you don't even think the words you say but somehow they leave your mouth as if they were the complete truth ? As if you had to answer this specific answer at all cost to protect yourself and act like it's the truth, so much you replied without thinking ? That's exactly how you felt when you spoke, and you hated it. You couldn't control it though, your brain decided it was best to lie.
And yeah, maybe it was best, Reki and Langa didn't have to know about anything, you didn't want to make them feel akward. I mean, it's always this way, whenever you feel the slightest bit down, everyone is always akward or replying "ah" or "oof" or "Sorry", it's as if what you said bothered them in a way, and you just didn't like it.
You noticed Reki and Langa exchanged a glance, did they notice your weird behaviour and caught on your lie or is it just a gay-type of glance ?
You continued talking, trying to sound convincing "I mean, the class was rather loud but it was pretty funny, there was this newborn couple and the guys joked around a lot-"
The bell rang, it was time to seperate again. Thanks god the bell interrupted you, because you didn't even know what you were saying. Still you didn't want to go back to the classroom, you wanted to stay with your friends.
"What? Already!? Reki complained, looking like he was going to be out of his mind if the bell rang one more time —Please focus this time Reki, instead of staring at me. Langa remarked, blankly, it took Reki off guard —I wasn't staring at you i was staring at me ! He defended himself, he put his arm over Langa's shoulder and tried to coonvince him I was staring at my hair because i thought about getting an haircut, you know ? You noticed sweats appear very fast on Reki's face —Right. Langa spoke, half-convinced You never changed your haircut in over a year, you only ever take your headband off when you're mad at me. —Let's go to class now, i need to tell you something. Reki changed the subject and started walking away, before turning to you and waving See you on the rooftop at lunch y/n ! "
You guys waved at each other, and you went back to your class. It was loud, once again, and you could hear a bunch of random conversations again, unamused.
"My uncle's favorite pastime was building cars out of noodles. —How do you even -"
"You know my favorite song? It kinda goes like this, tired of explaining, as these seasons keep on changing —Is this even Japanese…? —No it isn't."
"Which is greener, purple or red ? —Red is greener than purple, for sure. —Look at that color circle, purple is closer to green than red is ! —Does that even mean anything… Purple is made by blue and red, why wouldn't be red greener ? "
"What do these results on this quiz mean ? —You're like the peanut butter. The creator said so. —Wha- but i wanted to be a cheese! so that i could be cheesy with rome- —You're not always who you want to be."
The teacher eventually got the class to quiet down and called for everyone's names one by one to check weither they were present.
Your name wasn't pronounced, weird. But you paid no attention to it.
The teacher begun with an history lesson, a classmate raised his hand and asked something, he wondered why at 18 he was old enough to go to war, but not old enough to buy cigarettes.
You couldn't focus, your head was heavy, until eventually, you noticed the teacher was looking at you.
"Uhm, excuse me.. he called out to you, not pronouncing your name, he coughed, akwardly —Yes ? you asked, a bit taken off guards, were you going to get in troubles for not listening ? —What's your name ? He asked, a bit unsure of his question, staring at a paper, the class was looking at you —y/n l/n —Hm let me see… no you're not in this list. The teacher remarked Weird… What class are you supposed to be in ? —This class sir, it was written on the paper. you show the paper and the teacher examinates it, he looks embarassed —There must have been a mistake somewhere, maybe this is why Aoi haruka isn't here, let me contact my colleagues."
The class was silent, and after a few minutes, an adult came to the class to pick you up and lead you to your class, when you left the classroom, you could hear whispers in your directions, the adult apologized to you explaining your name got mixed up with someone else.
You walked with the adult, reaching another classroom. They knocked on the other classroom door and explained the situation to the other teacher.
"Please excuse me, we mixed up the names and got two students mixed up, i'm here to put y/n l/n here and take Aoi haruka to her actual class. —Oh uh, it's okay… Aoi haruka, please go, and uh.. y/n l/n, please go sit down"
The teacher looked a bit embarassed by this situation.
You entered the classroom, a bit nervous, everyone was looking at you, you looked at the whole classroom to search for a place to sit at, and saw a girl standing up with her backpack and stuff and leaving the classroom, it must have been Aoi Haruka. You looked at the seat, it was next to Langa.
You were in Reki and Langa's class in the end.
You could feel immense relief when you realized, and went to sit down next to Langa, Langa and Reki looked at you curiously, there's a paper on Langa's desk, there's sentences with a very good japanese writing on it next to bunch of badly written japanese sentences, Reki and Langa were probably passing notes about something, you could read a few words from the distance, but only a few, you managed to read your name and the words mission and lie.
What were they planning? When you think about it, what if they were talking behing your back like the other people who you thought were your classmates probably did ? You decided to shake it off, you were probably going too far. You want to trust Reki and Langa… Don't you? Aren't you a good friend?
Yeah.
Reki whispered something to Langa, and Langa then leaned his head towards you to whisper something to you.
"Reki asks what are you doing here —My name got mixed up with someone else, i was apparently supposed to be here"
Langa leaned his head back towards Reki and whispered to him what you said, Reki gave you a thumb up.
You smiled. Maybe you were luckier than you thought.
And maybe they weren't.
the class passed, it was way much better, the other class was kind of funny to be honest, but it was really tiring on the first day and they didn't seem to like you so, it's really better this way, and you get to be next to your friends.
But you need to focus on your school work don't you? You can't always hang out with your friends and have fun, life isn't like that, you need to work and be responsible. Be grateful you have it easier than other people, make the best of your school time because it will be harder once you start having a job.
Ah… right.
The teacher talked and you started taking notes, struggling because your wrist hurt, this is the wrist you usually write with, it's injured since your last race at S. Langa looked at you.
"Do you need any help ? he asked, with a calm expression on his face and a tint of worry —No it's okay, i rather not bother you, besides i can't even understand your writing. you whispered back, a bit harshly at the end, you internally slapped yourself for it. —L/n, is there anything you want to share with us ? The teacher spoke, looking at you, your classmates looked at you, you hated it —Uhm actually sir, their wrist is injured, so i was asking them if they needed help. Langa spoke instead of you —Thank you Langa but I was asking L/n to talk- —I CAN HELP ! reki raised his hand and exclaimed himself —Alright… Thank you for your enthusiasm Reki… the teacher replied, looking like he gave up at this moment —Sit next to me, y/n reki spoke —Ah yes… Langa, could you please exchange your desk with l/n's for the class from now on until their wrist heal ? —Yes. Langa moved and you guys switched desk, it looked like Langa was a bit sad to not be next to Reki anymore, but he was happy to be of help in any way —Thank you, Reki, Langa you mumbled, Reki smiled to you —It's nothing "
You got injured after a race at S a few days ago, you were racing Reki. You weren't doing so bad during the race until you thought that if you got injured maybe you wouldn't have to deal with school, and coincidentally, you lost balance, rolled down to the side, and hurt your arm and wrist. Reki was upset and worried and your skateboard continued rolling until it fell off a cliff and you never saw it ever again, but Reki had a spare skateboard for you, thankfully.
The class passed faster than the last class, Reki helped you and took notes for you, though he was pretending to take his notes about the lesson, his notes were mostly about skateboarding if anything, he looked more focused to help you though. Reki seemed kinder to you than usual, it's not that he's never kind, he's always been kind, but it felt a bit more insistant this time. ~ The bell rang, you put your stuff in your backpack and Reki helped you.
"Y/n" Langa spoke, you turned around to face him "yes ? —My stomach hurt. He said, Reki closed your backpack and walked up to him, concerned, he asked —Did you eat anything weird this morning ? Do you want to go to the infirmary ? —This morning, I ate a sock because people on the Internet told me to. You stared, blankly, trying to process the information, and Reki exclamed, in disbelief —What people on the internet !? Langa you can't listen to everything the people tell you to do, how did you even get yourself to eat a sock!? —It didn't taste good. —No kidding it didn't taste good! Langa look at me, did you swallow the whole sock ? —Yes. —So that's why you were having a hard time skateboarding earlier! "
To be honest, you didn't even notice this, but now you were worried for your friend, Langa. And you let Reki speak to him and explain to him that: no, eating a sock isn't safe.
Langa was really something, he was still skating better than you this morning even though he swallowed a whole sock, how did he not choke? ~ Long story short, he got drived to an hospital. For eating a sock. Because people on the internet told him to. Reki looked mad.
You were sitting on the rooftop with Reki, you both were silently eating.
"Langa really is reckless, he scares me"
Reki broke the silence.
You contested : "I don't think he's scary —That's not what i meant, but i mean, sometimes i literally have nightmares because of him, he can't go on and accept every challenges people offer him, i mean, the race with ADAM and now the sock? What's next is he going to mess with the FBI or something!? —I wouldn't even be surprised at this point.. you sighed —Right? I wonder what goes through his head, i mean, what's fun in eating a sock? —I don't even want to imagine. "
And there's a silence again. Until Reki broke it once again, looking at you with a stern look on his face.
"y/n, you won't be as reckless as him right ? —Huh? —I mean, last time you raced at S you got injured, we were racing, y'know… —Well hey, atleast you won ! You tried to reassure him —I want to skate with you but i don't want you to get injured, you know, and you just fell off so suddenly, it didn't even feel like it was an accident if i was honest You felt yourself internally panick, you didn't even know yourself if you did it on accident or on purpose. —No, don't worry it's just a silly little injury, it could have been worse. you tried to reassure him, Reki shouldn't be too worrieed about this, it's not like he never gets injured, he was injured for half of the memories you have had with him, he needs to think more of himself too. —Oka once told me, it's not bad to take care of yourself sometimes, you know ? his tone became a bit more stern —What do you mean ? —You don't look like you've been even sleeping at all y/n, and for the record, your injury was supposed to be healed by now, but you keep using your injured arm and your body is not getting enough rest, i'm worried that you'll actually make it worse."
You stayed quiet at his words, Reki sighed.
"y/n, please take care of yourself, i really don't want to lose you too"
you remembered him telling you about his old friend, you felt bad for even thinking for a second that maybe Reki didn't care about you, but now you needed to think of a way to reassure Reki, this was your fault for being reckless. You smiled and said "Hey hey, i swear it's going to be okay, i'm not being merely as reckless as you or Langa are sometimes " you joked and added "I never raced ADAM"
Reki looked at you with a silly angry face "Well it doesn't mean you can go around and make your injuries worse! You don't want to have to quit skateboarding do you? —Oh, come on it's just an arm —Just an arm!?"
You finished your lunch, and as you were about to get up while Reki was scolding you relentlessly about your injury, you tried to grab for your skateboard, and cut Reki's scolding off "Let's get our mind off of it and skate- —Our skateboards got taken away, y/n —Right"
You sighed, it felt empty without Langa. You felt silly for asking to skate into the school's grounds when you were the one refusing it this morning when Langa asked.
Did it ever feel this way when you were gone?
It felt empty even though Reki was still as lively as ever. If Langa was there though, you knew you wouldn't have been able to escape Reki's scolding, he's been pretty insistent for you to take care of yourself since that injury.
"Thinking about Langa, I hope he's doing okay…" you thought out loud, Reki nodded
Reki looked more quiet than usual, he was still talkative but less, it seemed he was thinking about something. No wonder why though, one of his bestfriends was in a hospital.
Well, bestfriend, that's understimating what the both of them really are. They have one hell of a bond. Even you can notice; their eyes contacts are everything. Even If they aren't romantic, they are still much more than bestfriends in ways words can't describe.
He got up and smiled "Well If It's Langa we have nothing to worry about, he always gets out of troubles somehow"
you nodded, chuckling a bit. It's true, Langa always get out of troubles.
The bell rang, you walked to your classroom together. You sat next to Reki, feeling weird that the seat next to you was empty, you missed Langa already.
The class passed, and when it ended it looked like Reki has fallen asleep while he was trying to take notes for you, but you were too zoned out to even notice.
A voice snapped you back to reality though.
"Just because the water is red doesn't mean you can't drink it… Langa what are you even talking about"
It was Reki's, you looked at him, confused, he was actually awake? You stood up and put your stuff back in your backpack, ignoring the burning pain in your arm.
"What do you mean? " you asked, before realising he has fallen back asleep. Reki is one to talk in his sleep afterall, he always does, you could still remember the day he woke up, stood up from his desk and screamed for Langa's name loudly in utter panick in front of the whole class when he was worried about his race with ADAM. You could also remember staying up with Langa when you guys were having a sleepover, just to hear what Reki would say in his sleep, there were no boring nights with Reki even when he was asleep, he was full of surprises, just like Langa, in a way.
"Reki?" you put your hand on his shoulder, he jumped and screamed "AH ?!!" you gestured for him to calm down. ~ Finally, the school day ended, more silently. You were in front of the school, Reki told you to wait here, you knew you had to stay one hour after class anyways to help the janitors clean, so it didn't reallly matter much.
"What are we even waiting for Reki? The teachers are waiting for us. —Just wait"
You stayed silent, until you noticed Miya walking up to you "hey slimes, so are we gonna go get the skateboards or what? You better pay me back after that. *You stared, confused, before turning to face Reki. —Reki, what is this about? *Reki sighed* —Long story short y/n… I'll have the two of you conduct a prison break ! —Wait you don't mean- —We're going to get our skateboards back and get away from here ! Reki exclamed himself, proudly —And then he'll become my cat. Miya added, killing Reki's joy in just a sentence —Don't act smug it's just one day ! —Wanna make it two?"
you stared at them, surprised, Miya didn't bring his skateboard.
So you were going to get your skateboards back and Miya was going to take Langa's skateboard back.
And then you could break out of school.
You stared the ground, your face frowned, and you spoke "They'll call our parents for that —Oh don't worry, i've done this plenty of time with Langa, you just never got into that much troubles before —What? But- you whole lots of crazy!- —They always forget! Infact, when i tried to wait for them to give me back my skateboard, they always forgot, so we have to get these back ourselves before they damage our babies ! —Fair enough i guess.."
You didn't want to imagine Reki giving birth to a skateboard, so you just went along with his plan hoping he'd stop using the name "babies" for the skateboards. ~ You were out of school with your skateboard, at the small skatepark you and Langa usually go to, you could remember Langa practicing tic-tacs here.
You were sitting with Miya as Reki was skating around
Miya yelled at his new human pet " drop, you must! —On it!" Reki dropped down the ramp, and failed, miya snickered
"Wow, and i thought i promoted you to a a golem! —You did!? Reki sounded happy Also If i failed, that's Langa's fault! Reki complained, which led Miya to be confused, he asked —How so? —Today I heard something new and unmemorable. Langa literally swallowed a sock because people on the internet told him to, i can't focus! —He did what!? So that's why he couldn't go pick up his skateboard himself!? Miya looked heavily surprised, he stared at the ground, hiding his concern"
Reki started skating again and raised his voice "Yes, he never changes!" Reki was obviously shaking and struggling to keep his balance, he looked tired and stressed, damn, you hated to see him like this. You looked away from him for a bit, and looked at Miya.
"Miya, how was school ? you asked, curious —It was fine i guess, you ? —You know how people get pregnant around their belly? Well i get brain pregnant, it's like i'm giving birth to so many neurons i'm gonna explode"
Miya stared at you and questionned your sanity. You looked back to Reki who was skating, you decided to cheer him on "Never back down never what!? —Never give up! Reki screamed in enthusiasm, before he falls on his balls and scream in more pain —Are you okay!?"
Reki sat up and gave you a thumb up, before standing up, visibly in pain. You started to wonder if you should join him, he seemed to continue skating despite his struggles, and you were just watching him with Miya, not doing an effort at all.
You can be such a burden sometime, you're almost certain being looked at this way while you're struggling must not feel cool. You remember being scared of people's looks when you started skating.
Reki went up to you, and asked you
"Hey, so y/n how are you feelin- —Meow for me, slime. Miya cut him off and Reki meowed, embarassed and annoyed, you laughed That's a good cat. Miya commented before Reki said —Oh shut it Miya, if we have a beef one day i'll make sure you regret that"
You looked at your phone and noticed that you had a message on a groupchat with Reki, Langa, Miya, Joe, Cherry and Shadow.
…You have a lot of groupchats. Like one that excludes Joe just for Cherry, and one to exclude Cherry just for Joe.
Shadow : " I'm racing a rookie tonight ! Watch me blow them off at midnight ! scary laughter "
It's scary how he used the scary laughters seriously as if he was talking to bots and roleplaying
Cherry : "I'll pass"
Reki looked at your screen, before saying "maybe we should go to Joe's… —Hm? you turned your head to face Reki, he seemed thoughtful. He turned to Miya and said —Miya, let's- —Call me master and meow. —Frick you! —It's apart of the deal —Fine- Master, let's go to Joe's meow —There there that's better. Miya pet Reki's hair and Reki looked like he was trying his best to compose himself, you tried not to laugh —Who's paying ? you asked —My cat is paying. —I didn't even- but yes that's true"
a few seconds passed, before Reki screamed
"WAIT I FORGOT I HAD A JOB !"
Your eyes widened, and you all skated to Reki's workplace, Reki apologized and you volunteered to replace Langa since he was unavailable tonight, since he… ate a sock. Miya was playing on his console while you two were working, you were pretty much zoned out and it looked like Reki would talk mostly to Miya anyways, you were zoned out but you could hear him complain whenever Miya told him to act like a cat, some things about this being inadequate at a workplace.
~ Finally, after that, you guys skated to Joe's restaurant, it seemed the restaurant was still open and Joe was waiting for you, Shadow and Cherry were all here, they seemed to know you'd come. Maybe Miya or Reki texted them to come.
You guys ordered some meals, and Shadow tried to steal Joe's kitchen to cook instead and show his great cooking skills, he wanted to cook you waffles or something… somehow, with his secret recipe. For shadow, excitement replaced fear until the final moment where Joe was able to stop him from using the kitchen furthermore.
Waffles are always better without fire ants and fleas, afterall. (This is an Italian restaurant).
It seemed the restaurant was originally closed but Joe made an exception for all of you because Reki convinced him to.
You were sitting near the window next to Miya, facing Reki. You asked : "So, what are we doing here Reki ? —I wanted to pass some quality time with my friends, you know.. eheh He looked like he was hiding something —That is your friend ? Miya pointed to Shadow which Shadow immediately noticed —Hey! I'm not your teacher or anything! Shadow raged, and Miya shrugged —You could have just invited everyone except Shadow on the groupchat excluding Shadow. Miya said, indifferent, playing on his console —WHAT GROUPCHAT?? Shadow yelled, before Joe told him to quiet down"
you stared at the table, a few moments later, Joe handed you guys over a few plates of food, as you guys ordered. Cherry was sitting next to Reki.
Shadow was renting, something along the lines "My dentist tells me that chewing bricks is very bad for your teeth. But no bricks can hurt my teeth behind this mask! I'm a true man!" you couldn't really understand what he was even saying, too zoned out to even try to understand. If Langa was here, he'd have been very happy to eat all of the restaurant's leftovers. You heard miya tells shadow "Well good for you idiot, just tell me if you want me to call a mental hospital for you"
You were happy you were all together, but you couldn't help but think about tomorrow's school day, you were definitely going to be even more tired than you were today tomorrow.
Joe kicked Shadow out of the restaurant for being a menace to his kitchen in the end as Shadow continued to try going back to the kitchen of the restaurant.
The first school day was tiresome, even if you were in Reki and Langa's classroom, you felt a sort of stress concerning your future, you didn't want to mess your life up. Life isn't just about fun…
Miya nudged your shoulder to get you to listen to whatever they're talking about, and he spoke "Thank god Joe was able to get Shadow out of his kitchen, if Joe ever lets Shadow cooks for us, I won't think twice i'll go : bye-bye-bye —This feels familliar you spoke, the way he said the end of his sentence looked like a song, strange.. —What does? Miya asked —Oh- nothing, nothing."
You stared at your plate and ate a bit, you were slow though. Reki was silent, after some time, Cherry spoke.
" Today I discovered something i never knew about carla before. —Which is ? Joe asks —Nothing. —If you want everyone to have a conversation so bad, atleast come up with something more creative."
the room was silent, Joe and Cherry wouldn't even speak, Reki looked at Joe, with pleading eyes, you were confused. Joe sighed and speaked:
"Say y/n, are you going to S tonight? —Uhm… You thought, S was really fun, and you really didn't wanna go to school and all, maybe you could just go to S and call it your life cheatcode- —I don't advice you to If you're still injured. Cherry said, glancing at your arm —I'm fine guys, i swear —You're not going to race anyone though, right ? Reki asked, looking concerned —Well actually i was thinking about it. you admitted, Reki looked at you with a face of despair and Miya spoke —You're so reckless y/n. —Y/n! please don't hurt yourself! Reki pleaded —It's no use Reki, they don't understand you… —What do you mean they don't understand me!?? —They zoned out again" ~ Long story short, the group convinced you not to go to S tonight, and Reki ended up convincing you to sleep at his place tonight for a sleepover so that you wouldn't be alone in skipping S tonight, but also to be sure you don't go there. He already sneaked to S without his friends knowing before, and he doesn't want you to do that too.
You walked out of the restaurant with Reki, Miya already went home, Cherry already left, and Joe had to clean after you. You already texted your parents that you would be on a sleepover with Reki tonight, you also mentionned that Langa would be there so that they wouldn't ask too many questions, even though Langa wasn't here.
"What a long day" Reki stretched, and looked at you "Let's go"
You both started skating, until it started raining, your skateboard wasn't set for rain, shit.
"Shoot! Y/n this way ! " Reki called out to you, skating away, the rain was getting slowly, no, quickly heavier and heavier, and you ended up falling off, you got up and took your skateboard and ran, Reki was already far away.
Big thunder noises
Oh, there's a thunder. ~ You reached Reki's house, panting and barely breathing, covered in mud, barely standing on your own. He panicked and apologized a thousand times when he noticed you got even more hurt, he took you to his house quickly not wanting to let you get even colder, and he checked your injuries once again, this time, in his bathroom, just in case something was missing in his bag, he was sure to find whatever it could be in the bathroom.
The bathroom looked clean, it was a small room but sufficient, you sat on a chair, Reki opened his bag and a drawer, before checking your arm first, your wounds visbly opened again as your bandages were red. How amazing. Reki probably didn't like seeing your bandages being red so often.
"Damn, now this must be my fault this time. Reki mumbled, as he got rid of your bloodied bandages and pulled up a disinfectant Thanks god the wounds aren't that big, you could have ended up in the hospital like Langa, because of me… —Hey, no, we're fine, we didn't predict the weather."
Reki seemed distant as he stared at your arm, he mumbled something inaudible. He was zoning out while lightly using the disinfectant, you didn't like this. So you spoke.
"You're not a god, you know. —And you're not either, so stop being so reckless will ya? He retorted, unhappy —Say the one who was blaming himself a few minutes ago! You didn't want to let this slide, Reki was done changing your bandages, and he spoke while putting back the bandages supplies into their places —I'm not blaming you! I'm just, well, worried for you you know! —There's no reasons to be. You stared at the ground, ready to deny everything, Reki spoke, almost reading your mind —Where else are you hurt? —Nowhere! You tried to stand up but your legs gave up pretty easily Agh- You almost fell but Reki caught you, some of the dirt of your clothes got to him, you both were still dripping wet, and you were covered in mud, it was a bit awkward, but Reki was there for you, he was like a brother to you —Hold into me, where does it hurt? —My knees —Shit "
Reki cursed and slowly had you sitting back in the chair, telling you to not move and not be reckless.
You and Reki held something in common, you both were pretty stubborn when it came to being fine.
Right now, Reki looked lost in thoughts as he checked your knees, and as he suspected, your knees were hurt, but it didn't look too bad yet, he sighed and looked at you in the eyes "We're going to get that checked tomorrow if it doesn't get better, okay? —Okay..? You sounded hesitant, as if it was weird for him to care about you,but it's not supposed to be —So you can't stand? —Actually yes I can! you tried to let go of Reki's grip, but you held into the chair instead, Reki sighed —Alright, uhm, you're covered in mud, do you want to take a bath? I have some spare clothes for you if you want? He politely asked, feeling bad that he let you get hurt like this —I mean, yeah alright you replied, not knowing why you could possibly say no, being covered in mud really wasn't pleasant"
This isn't the first time something like this happened, you smiled, this is why Reki always had spare clothes just in case, because you can recall the three of you getting all muddy so many times, and you guys would usually have sleepovers at Reki's house more than anyone's house. You knew what was going to happen was that you would take a bath, and then Reki would do so too when you leave the bathroom, clean and changed and as you go get your other clothes cleaned.
You might catch a pretty bad cold tomorrow. ~ After you took a bath and put on the spare clothes that were ready for you, you ended up in the living room, desperately holding into whatever you could hold into, you were told to sit down and not exhaust yourself. But to be honest, you uncounsciously wanted to exhaust yourself, so maybe you could ghost through the whole year, was it selfish? It's just the first day…
The family was really loud and lively, even at night, you recalled that it was often like this whenever you had a sleepover with Langa at Reki's house.
It's weird that Langa isn't here… It feels so empty even with all of the noises going on, Reki must be feeling stressed out. Just as he showed at the skatepark earlier, barely able to keep balance on his skateboard.
You heard one of Reki's sibling, try to tell a story to another sibling, something along the lines of "The llama couldn't resist trying the lemonade…", It felt very silly.
The atmosphere was warm, you sure never get lonely in here, this place is full of life. It was such a warm and fuzzy atmosphere, you couldn't help but smile a bit. Though the noises gave you a headache. Surprisingly enough, it still wasn't too late for Reki's siblings to be awake, somehow. Well, it's true that Reki's mother was desperately trying to calm the siblings down and get them to sleep, you were in the living room, your backpack out, you already had homework on the first day of school, and you could barely focus.
After some time, Reki came downstairs, he seemed to have cleaned himself up and changed himself faster than you did, he walked towards you and sat next to you, opening his backpack aswell.
You both tried to focus with the awkward silence going on between you, it was funny because no one could hear the silence as the house was really loud, but you could still feel it.
After some time, Reki scratched his hair, stretched and sighed "Man, I didn't listen to a single word the teachers said today —You didn't? —You did? —Yes, I mean… you hesitated, you mostly remember having negative thoughts about yourself today, you looked down at your paper I don't really remember anything…"
You felt Reki's gaze on you, you didn't know if it was a thoughtful look, a mocking look, a look of disbelief, or a look of concern, you didn't dare to move your head to know, sometimes it's better not to know, so you tried to focus on the printed writing of your paper.
"Is this history? you asked, Reki gulped —I thought it was maths —But there are centuries on the paper —True… But you have to calculate the centuries right? —Reki…"
You sighed, this was getting nowhere, you were barely reading. Mostly reading with your own eyes but not your brain, a simple sentence was like a treasure hint, each simple little words just wouldn't reunite or make sense in your brain. At that exact moment you just wanted to spend time with Reki, you didn't want to work, it was selfish, yes, but you couldn't help it, you didn't want to drag Reki into troubles though. You knew you were tired, but if you slept right now, you knew that you'd still be unable to work the next morning, it stressed you out, you didn't want to mess up on the second day of school aswell. You couldn't let all these bad feelings stop you, you didn't want to make yourself up excuses not to work, you felt like it was your fault, like you were the one who uncounsciously made yourself feel bad to have an excuse to work less and feel better about yourself. Though it was doing the opposite, and maybe you weren't right about this.
Thoughts were spinning around inside your head as your eyes focused on the sheet of paper and your textbook, you were completely zoning out.
How are you going to do this? How are you going to handle all of this? You messed up, all you had to do was not overthink it and here you already tired yourself out for a whole period, and you're dragging Reki into it aren't you? How stupid can you be? This is important, school is important, you can't just ignore that, it's not all just about fun. Why would it be?
"Y/n" *Reki called your name, looking at you "Hey, Y/n" *he insisted, you shook your head as your eyes widened, you stopped your trail of thoughts* "Yes ?" you tried to hold in your tears, but instead, you yawned, which got a few tears out of your eyes anyway, you whipped those tears away: you were just tired, that was all. Why else would have tears left your eyes? You're tired, nothing more. It was just one or two tears, a natural reaction from yawning, isn't it?
That is, before you realized it, the tears didn't stop leaving your eyes, it wasn't caused by just the yawning, you couldn't control yourself and your thoughts right now. Reki panicked, "Woah y/n! Hey please don't cry uhm-" you hid your face. when you realized.
Fuck, this wasn't the time to be dramatic, your other bestfriend was in the hospital, and all you could think about was yourself. How selfish can you be? Why are you ruining everything?
You weren't looking at Reki but even you could hear his panic, you tried to wipe away your tears and to calm down, it wasn't working out. Reki spoke, trying to be reassuring and comforting "hey, hey, it's okay- it's going to be okay, look at me- Well it's okay if you don't want to look at me, do you want to talk about it? What's up? —It's nothing, I'm just tired you said, your voice was shaking, you couldn't even make your voice sound normal, Reki's siblings were staring at you, great, you're making a scene now. —Is this the school stressing you out again? He asked, you stayed silent and your eyes widened a bit as you stared at the ground, Reki put an hesitant hand on your shoulder and spoke —Hey, it's okay, we're in classes of 30 people, they never check our work- —But I can't mess up you cut him off School's important, life isn't about just fun, work exist too Reki stayed silent for a second, before saying —Hey, I have fun at work you know —Huh? But this is a part time job!- —Does it matter? "
You paused, questioning your life's choices, Reki continued
"Hey, let me show you something" He stood up and led you an hand, you got up and he helped you walk, you guys walked toward the place he usually goes to to work on his skateboards in his garden, it seemed it stopped raining a while ago, probably while you were trying to focus on your work.
"Remember this place?" He asked, you nodded. Of course you can't forget, Reki made you multiple skateboards for free here, it was loud hearing the machines sometimes, but you can never forget a place with such fond memories.
Reki walked and grabbed a piece of wood "your skateboard got wet right? It needs to dry, this can last months, so to wait, i can make you another skateboard before this one breaks" he said, taking the usual measurements of the wood and tracing some lines, you were confused, weren't you guys talking about school and work just now? Why is he suddenly talking about skateboards again? I mean, atleast he was really passionate about it…
You stared at him, a bit dumbfounded, as he work, and you asked, before he turns on that godamn machine that had your ears dying on spot.
"Why are you doing this? —Well, because, if i let you skateboardless and dying to the stress of school, what will i think of myself for letting you down like this? —You're never letting me down, and, as I've said, life isn't about just fun anyway- —But it can be. Why torture yourself? He turned on the machine to cut the wood, making sure to follow the lines he traced precisely, communicating would be harder now, you had to raise your voice —It's not that simple! —Pick some trucks and some wheels"
Welp, there it is, Reki was being stubborn again, does he even understand you?
You sighed and stared at the available trucks and wheels, Reki was a bit too nice, he always gave you wheels and trucks for free.
Small wheels are for tricks, big wheels are for cruising on rougher surfaces. You pick out some wheels, and some trucks. When you think about it, Reki could just make you a board and you could replace the trucks and wheels yourself, why was he doing this?
When he was done cutting down the board, he asked "you done picking your trucks and wheels?" you nodded "mhm" he smiled and looked at the wheels and trucks you picked before nodding aswell, not surprised by your choice. He spoke, almost teasing you.
"You know, you really never changed your style of skating. —I don't really want to. You replied, Reki chuckled —You don't have to if this style suits you"
Reki started taking his supplies to color and decorate your board, you looked at him do so, and he asked "The same theme as usual? —Yes, please don't get too silly about it. You said in anticipation of whatever was about to come, Reki can be all but predictable sometimes —Will do!"
Reki got to work after putting a support under the board so that the paint wouldn't go over all the desk, and you just stared at him, feeling useless. He was used to working on this now to no surprises, and he was extremely fast, he surely looked like a professional. To you, he was like the God of skating, and you're sure many other would agree with you.
"Hey, y/n, want to add a touch of your help too? Let's spray some paint together —Can I really? —Yeah, it's your board not mine, as long as you don't spray paint all over my face I'm cool with it."
You smiled, feeling excited, you chose a color, specifically your favorite color. You started trying to draw some lines on the back of your board, not really confident. Reki nudged your shoulders to tease you, so you fought back.
Before you knew it, your board was full of colors and failed drawings, this definitely wasn't your usual board. And you both had full paint on your clothes, and some on your skin. You both were laughing and hardly breathing, when you calmed down, Reki looked at your board and declared "I shall call it the double painted friendship Reki-Y/n creation board, aka the Reki y/n dp friendship board!" you sighed, there he went again with his ridiculous nicknames, but you didn't dislike it either. If anything, Reki's enthusiasm was cheering you up, at this exact moment, you couldn't even bear to think about school, you just wanted to have fun. So what if they say life isn't just about fun?
You turned to face Reki, your eyes widened, and you looked at yourself. This was a catastrophe, you both were full of paint. Reki looked at you and looked at himself and realised the mess you both have done aswell, he had a curious and surprised look on his face for a second, before his smile brightened, and proud of himself he declared "Well looks like we both had a relooking!" you sighed and smiled "this isn't very healthy" he laughed "Don't worry, the paint is offensive once every 10 years"
"Let's let the paint dry for now." Reki said, before turning to look at you "You good?" you paused and thought, before answering "Yeah, i'm fine, why do you ask?" Reki sighed and said "I was scared you'd flood my house back there. —Hey! I'm not that much of a crybaby! —I'd rather have you cry than stay alone though. Joe once told me to never end up on my own."
You paused and stared at the table "Yeah, that's a good advice" you mumbled, before turning your head to face Reki, a curious look on your face "Say, why did you do all of this? You didn't have to let me pick out some new trucks and wheels, we could have just put the ones from the old board on the new board, you know? —Y/n, this is not the first time your trucks got wet, and i'm afraid they're getting rusty —They are? —Even a 4 year old would notice. —Hey! "
You guys laughed, and you asked "what do we do about the paint? —Let's go get it cleaned before it dries on our face, it's not raining anymore so we can go back to my house and to the cabin when it dries"
You were able to stand on your own, but when you took a step, it really hurts a lot, but you felt like you could handle it, things are way much less painful when you're in a better mood, it's crazy.
Once you entered his house again, you saw one of his younger sister, Koyomi, eating an ice cream and directly turning to talk to you "Hey y/n, i've got something for you —You're not sleeping? Reki asked —Nope, couldn't sleep with all the charades our younger relatives put in the house"
Koyomi took some papers and handed them to you "Here, nanaka and chihiro made these for you, they said they hoped it would make you feel better"
You took the drawings, these were drawings made by one of Reki's youngest siblings, a stickman kind of drawing with some hearts. It seemed even they cared about you. you stared at the drawing, while Reki said "Hey Koyomi, don't stay up too late. —You aswell" ~ After you both cleaned the paint off your face and arms, you went back to the place where the paint dried. You already felt much better, you made sure to keep the drawings somewhere in your backpack, these were silly, but you wanted to keep them in your room or something when you'll go back to your house.
Your phone bzzzzed, you turn on your phone and checked the notification, it was a message from Langa on the trio group containing you, Langa and Reki.
"Hey guys! I'm out of the hospital! :) The sock was no problem much, i'm on my way home!" Reki turned to you "Hm, what are you doing y/n? —Hey, look at this, Langa's out of the hospital you said, Reki immediately looked at your phone without any hesitation and said —Wow, so he really got out of troubles huh? —Yup, once again."
You smiled and typed a message on your phone "Hey Langa, I'm at Reki's house right now, I hope you have a good night, see you at school tomorrow!" you sent the message, before you knew it, reki took out his own phone and typed a message "Hey Langa, btw, i made y/n a new board, wanna video call to see it?".
You saw the message appear on the groupchat, and before you knew it, Langa already sent a videocall ask, you refused as Reki already turned on the video call and one was enough.
It seems the paint has dried already.
Reki picked the trucks and wheels you chose to put them and fix them on your board, you only noticed now but these also got colored in the process somehow, it gave your board a new type of look, you couldn't help but smile. When Reki was done, he took care of the grip tape, and when that was done aswell, he looked at you to present the final result while showing Langa through his phone the final result, and proud of himself, he asked, a big genuine smile on his face "Well! What do you think??" you clapped, genuinely amused. Langa praised Reki.
Reki grinned "I know, i'm the best when it comes to making boards —I helped painting the board too! —You sure are an artist y/n l/n."
Reki laughed, and you heard Langa laugh too. You were smiling, you didn't even know what time was it, you didn't really care about the time anymore, though you could notice dark circles under Reki's eyes, you didn't know if you had them too.
After a small moment of silence, Reki talked, in a low soft voice "Hey, y/n —Hm? —You're right, life isn't about just fun. you dropped your composure when he said this —What do you mean? —Life is about being happy, silly! He messed your hair up, leaving the screen on the desk and leaving Langa confused, he smiled you really are an idiot you know? he teased you, not actually meaning it —Hey! Atleast I care about my grades! You defended yourself, Reki grinned —You know, when it comes to school and grades, i'm not really worried, you build yourself a path towards the future by being happy and doing the things you like, don't you? —Well, it's true but… —So why torture yourself? You'll be just fine, a day of not doing homework won't kill you, hey, what makes you happy? —Being with you you blurted out and everyone else you added, Reki seemed a bit caught off guard, he scratched his head and blushed a bit, flattered, he spoke —Well then use your mind a bit more for us and less for school, I promise you you'll figure everything out at your own pace —Can I really? —Do I inspire you? he asked out of the blue, semi-hesitant, semi-confident —Reki! you nudged his shoulder and laughed —What? —Of course you inspire me! —But i'm not good at school and grades, I don't even care about school as much as you do. —Yes, but you're so passionate and good at what you do. I'm not even sure of what i want to do in the future. —All I did was enjoy what i enjoy. He paused and smiled brightly I love skating, the fun is infinite, it never ends!"
You heard Langa's confused voice through the phone, the lonely blue-haired teenage boy spoke "Y'know y/n, when it comes to school and work, i rather see you happy with average grades than stressed out and on edge with good grades, just like we found you were last year"
You felt a bit embarrassed and nervous, so you stared at Reki, internally begging for him to change the topic. He smiled, and said "it might not be easy, but hang in there, i promise everything will be okay, school won't pick your path for you, school will force you to pick a path, of course school is important, but a balance is important aswell, we can't have you so stressed out that you break down on one sheet of paper everytime, what kind of friends would we be if we let you alone to struggle like this? I don't think that would be very fair, you know. Life may not just be about fun, but sometimes it is. What's more important anyway is to be happy anyway isn't it?"
His confident and long monologue was interrupted by a big sneeze.
Oh, you had all that nasty stuff over your face, dear god.
Reki panicked and ran to grab some tissues, you tried not to laugh at the way he ran, welp, this was really worth not going to S for.
You stared at the phone on the desk and Langa saw your face and laughed as you picked the tissue Reki handed to you.
Through the phone, you heard Langa's voice "y/n, you know, I'm happy with you guys too —You better be." ~ You fell asleep in your sleeping bag, and the next morning, you both were completely sick. And you forgot to complete the homework you were supposed to turn in today. You still weren't even sure if it was an History sheet or a Maths one.
But did it really matter? You had so much fun yesterday, and you cheered up, sometimes it's cool to loosen up.
This is the type of memory you won't regret when you'll be at death's door. This is the type of memory that really matters.
Of course school did matter, but when it slowly kills you and you have no idea of what you want to do, what do you do? How do you balance personal life and school?
Life isn't just about fun sure,
It's about appreciating the moment that's happening right now. And right now, you didn't want to think about school.
Rather, you wanted to think about getting some meds, because you both were REALLY a sick mess.
And little did you know the papers you both left on the living room table didn't last long when Reki's siblings woke up.
Oops?
