20 Questions for Writers
Tagged by @artaxlivs. Thank you!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? Sixty-seven
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 153,827
3. What fandoms do you write for? Marvel with a smattering of Jason Todd from DC thrown in.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? (all Stranger Things)
Take it easy
Staring, a tale of two looks
The Stockings were Hung
Movie Date
Say my name
5. Do you respond to comments? Always, in an eventual manner.  Been pretty good about it lately. 😊
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? You would think I’d say the one that ends in MCD, but it’s an abrupt ending with no time for the characters to angst (though I think the readers did plenty). We Can't Fake This though, ends with a character crying himself to sleep.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Damsel in Distress also ends in tears, but happy ones.
8. Do you get hate on fics? No.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes. Almost exclusively Winterhawk these days.
10. Do you write crossovers? If you count snatching Jason up from Gotham to play with my boys, then yes. 😊
11. Are any of your fics converted into podfics? Yes [Podfic] Damsel in Distress was recorded by @flowerparrish and I am still beyond over the moon about it.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I don’t know if it actually got translated, but someone requested to translate Mindf*** (self-censoring for FFN saved for posterity lol) and is actually how I found out one of my works had been migrated to Ao3 when the Good Omens Library closed down; which was a windfall since ffn did that massive unexpected wipe of all NSFW content and I did not have any of it saved.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Winterhawk (Hawkeye and the Winter Soldier)
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I want to finish all my babies, but the one where the Winter Soldier falls through some rotted floor boards in the “Safe house” Clint is hiding out in and ends up stuck in the basement has been staring at me mournfully for a while now.
16. What are your writing strengths? Dialogue and painting emotion.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? (stealing this answer from @artaxlivs cause SAME bro) visual world building. I have aphantasia so sometimes I'll just forget to describe the world around them because I can't see it anyway.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? If it’s more than a few lines that I want a character to be in the dark about I think I’d be more likely to put it in italicized English with a ‘in whatever language’ dialogue tag - definitely for conversations.
19. First fandom you wrote for? According to FFN in Nov 2000 I published a Digimon fanfic. You’ll note I did NOT migrate those to my Ao3 Account LOL. But I was definitely passing around handwritten stories with friends in middle school before that, for a book I can’t remember the name of and for the LJ Smith series (Secret Circle, Vampire Diaries, Night World).
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? Oh man that’s such a tough question.  Since the other contenders are listed above in other questions, I’ll pick What happened last night? because I think it’s the height of my comedic abilities.

Sambucky together
07 / 05 / 2023
YES, SAMBUCKY IS A GREAT COUPLE ❤️
Yes, James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes aka Winter Soldier / White Wolf and Samuel "Sam" Wilson aka Falcon / Captain America are meant to be together. Bother are hot, kind, funny, brave, strong, generous...
They are the reason why I watched the Disney+ series FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER even though some moments were not very well written (especially Falcon, who still became an interesting character there).
When I see pics of them I don't know if I want to be their slave or see them happy in love! Look at the first picture, you can see their asses that are so delicious and that I dream to eat because they deserves asslickers. And in the second picture I want to kneel on the ground, lick their shoes, massage their feet...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What is the most important to remember with this couple is that Sam and Bucky complete each other. They both have differents background and personality. I will not talk again about why I disagree with Mister Anthony Mackie who thinks that fans shouldn't consider Sam and Bucky in love.
I am a gay whiteboy, I love black men (white men too, of course, but I just have this raceplay fantasy and also this love for the interracial contrast) so of course I am attracted to Sam Wilson being in love with Steve Rogers or Bucky Barnes. I am also attracted to being their boyfriends individually, and I love their comics version too (to be honest I became attracted to Sam Wilson thanks to his comics counterpart).
I love these two characters and the actors who play them. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are both sexy and funny and have great chemistry, they're good friends and they're aware that fans ship them off as a couple.
Even though Anthony Mackie said that Sam Wilson wasn't supposed to be in a relationship with Bucky Barnes, we fans and authors are allowed to write about it. He cannot prevent us from imagining them as a couple.
I never said I wouldn't watch the CAPTAIN AMERICA 4 and THUNDERBOLT movies just because Sam and Bucky aren't a couple. I accept that they can't be lovers in the MCU. But that's what fanfics are there for: to dream up and create alternate universes where it would have happened. 😉 And they are so cute together!
These two actors are hot, funny, nice, are very good friends in real life (you can easily find many compilations of their funny moments together on YouTube).
Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie would be a great couple if they were together . Honestly, it wouldn't shock me if they were in love. Who knows their lovers 🙄?
So if you want to wait before I publish a story about Sam Wilson dating Bucky Barnes, here are the links of the stories I wrote about them. I hope you'll like and comment them 😁
⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨
STORIES ABOUT SAM WILSON / FALCON
In this story Sam Wilson is in love with Steve Rogers so it's a SamSteve story but also a BuckySteve story. There is others Avengers.
What I appreciate in this story is that different characters appears, with different body size (Thor being chubby here), gender (I unclouded Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel and Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow), skin color (Sam Wilson is a black man of course).
-
I this story focused on Bruce Wayne / Batman and Clark Kent / Superman being in love, Steve Rogers / Captain America and Sam Wilson / Falcon appears as lovers. 😘
In this story I wanted to make a crossover between DC and Marvel, and make two gay couples fighting vilains together. 😁
-
This story is supposed to takes place at the beginning of the movie CAPTAIN AMERICA - WINTER SOLDIER, where Sam and Steve meets. In this story, they falls in love and will find a fag to use as their servant. So it's a romantical and also humilating story.
Even though I imagined myself being the fag (this is why I reminded at the beginning of the article that I want to love Bucky / Sam / Steve and at the same time I want to obey them for how manly they are compared to me), I made this story very romantic. 💕
-
This story is really important to me, surely in my TOP 5 of the stories I wrote, because I really imagined myself as the character, I described him as I'm supposed to be and the plot is inspired by something I experienced. Maybe the fact that it's too related to my personal life explain why not a lot of people liked this story. The story tell what it would have been if Sam Wilson as Captain America felt in love with me at Avengers Campus. 😍
That would make me really happy if this story received more ❤️ and comments 🙏. Sam Wilson is one of my favorite masculine characters from Marvel comics, and he is becoming amongst my favorite male characters in MCU, but what's sure is that I find him really exciting as Captain America.
This story is the only one where he is Captain America but obviously if I had to write a SamBucky story I would make him Captain (and may I reminds you that Bucky has also been Captain America in the comics).
-
In this story Sam Wilson is in love with Steve Rogers and they both humiliate a fag loser with others Avengers (mostly men of course)
This story is supposed to be humiliating but I hope you'll appreciate the gay moments too.
⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨
STORIES ABOUT BUCKY BARNES
In this story Steve Rogers is in a polyamorous relationship with Bucky, Natasha and Sam. But he is mostly in love with Bucky Barnes so this is mainly a BuckySteve gay love story.
-
In this fiction which take place after the movie CAPTAIN AMERICA - CIVIL WAR, Bucky is in love with his best friend Steve Rogers but he will begin to fall in love with King T'Challa of Wakanda / Black Panther while Steve falls in love with Sam Wilson.
I have written less stories about Bucky Barnes but I did a long story here. Bucky is such a good man that he would also makes a good lover for M'Baku or even Baron Zemo...
⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨
And here is a game WOULD YOU RATHER? sended by my dear friend @fartsandotherstink2 about Sam and Bucky
And here is one I sended to @fartsub1 about the Captain America : Steve, Bucky and Sam

20 Questions for Fic Writers
I was tagged by @strangersteddierthings, I've never even thought about half of these questions, so.... we're gunna go on a journey together. I MISSED SEVERAL QUESTIONS LMAO. LEMME UPDATE.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
18 (I only post like 1/3 of my fics on AO3)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
66,922. I pay such little attention to this kinda stuff xD
3. What fandoms do you write for?
A lot... and a lot more than what is listed on my AO3. If we're friends I'll literally just message you a 2k+ fic in a DM for funsies.
Stranger Things (TV 2016) (8)
Overwatch (Video Game) (5)
Teen Wolf (TV) (1)
Castlevania (Cartoon 2017-2021) (1)
Critical Role (Web Series) (1)
Promare (2019) (1)
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018) (1)
DC Comics / Batman (Tim Drake / Kon-El)
Orphan Black
Marvel (Steve/Tony)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Basket Ball Shorts
Roadrat: The Fire that Covered the World
The Comfort of Warmth (Lio/Galo)
Fifty-fifty (Roadhog / Junkrat)
Perspective (Caleb / Essek)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. As soon as I see them I will reply with a thank you or to engage with someone's question/musings/etc.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably a Roadrat one. It's been a while since I've read my work, but The Things They Lost is a Roadrat fic where I explored a bunch of like... when Junkrat lost his arm and stuff like that. Brutal, tbh. Next closest is my Alucard (OT3) Castlevania fic where he is BIG SAD about Trevor and Sypha not being there. Nights Spent Alone.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
UUuhhhuhuhuh..... I mostly write sad shit LOL. Milkshakes has a happy ending. It's a 2 part modern-day Steddie fic about the boys asking each other out on a date over Instagram.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've never seen any hate on my fics before.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Uhh, yeah. I do. PWP or With Plot. I like full stories that have smut that BELONGS there, but then we've got just straight-up PWP. That is what Basketball short is tbh.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
No, never written a crossover. I've written lots of AUs though.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No. Dunno how I'd figure that out.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope. Dunno what that would look like tbh.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Steddie; for right now. My other top 3 are Harley/Ivy, Tim/Kon-El, and Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
NO IDEA. Lol, all my unfinished WIPs are either ones I have no interest in finishing (Roadrat), or ones I can complete faith in being able to finish (Steddie)
16. What are your writing strengths?
Speed. I can compose a story very quickly and put it together.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I never promote myself/share. I'm really bad at sharing my works. Additionally, I'm bad at finishing things before I lose interest.... eep.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Uuhh maybe. I def have some Ancient Greek and Latin in my up-coming Robin (Stobin platonic) fic.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I'm not sure... maybe Batman (Tim/Jason or Tim/Kon). I RP'd A LOT from ages 13-18 and had like 5-8 rps going at once for a whole bunch of fandoms. (Naruto, OCs in the Star Wars universe, Tim/Kon, and more I can't remember atm).
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Ooohhh, I dunno. I'm bad at picking favourites. Right now I'm pretty proud of my Because I Want You Steddie fic. It's Steve and Eddie as 30-year-olds with kids. They broke up in their 20s and are trying to get back together in their 30s. Eddie has a complete breakdown in it, but Steve is there to tell him that he loves him.
I don't think about this stuff at all xDDD Fic writing is just a pass time for me. This will be the first time EVER in over 18 years of writing fic that I've EVER participated in an exchange/Big Bang. I'll tag @medusapelagia @oh-stars @br0ck-eddie @kallisto-k

20 Questions For Fic Writers
Tagged by @marirah! Love you, babe 😘
I'm TheWitchBoy and Klarion on AO3. 🫡
How many works do you have on AO3?
158 on TheWitchBoy
14 on Klarion (but I don't feel like logging into Klarion rn, so that's probably the only thing I'll answer for Klarion)
What’s your total A03 word count?
904,184 words on TheWitchBoy
What fandoms do you write for?
A lot of DC, some Marvel, a bit of Star Wars, a pinch of Harry Potter, a dash of Supernatural. Anything that strikes my fancy, really.
What are your top five fics by kudos?
Odd One, or, Wally's Mysterious Boyfriend. T, Birdflash, Secret ID Reveals, Humour.
A Strange Family. T, SuperBat (Pre-Relationship), Secret ID Reveals, Shenanigans.
A Game of Guess Who With Big Blue. G, Gen, Mistaken Identities, ID Shenanigans, Humour.
Grinning Shadow of the Bat. T, Batfam, Dialogue Centric, Shenanigans, Humour.
Secret Visitors (on the Watchtower). G, Gen, Secrets, Humour.
What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I know this one... It's one of my DCWC fics. Uhh. The Unwanted Return of the Past. Or maybe The Cliff Walk? I'm not much of an angst writer, I don't think.
Oh wait, I did try my hand at writing expressions of grief that one time, of Dick after Jason's death. Picking Up the Broken Pieces.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Damn. Happiest ending. Uh. Maybe ...Trading Spouses? Most of my fic has happy endings, idk
Do you get hate on your fic?
I don't think so?
Do you write smut?
Yes, but only on Klarion. I prefer TheWitchBoy to be (mostly) sfw.
Do you write crossovers?
Sometimes. Mostly DC/White Collar (I have a series for those ones, actually). Sometimes DC/Marvel.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so. But, way back in my dA days, I did lil Harry Potter comics and those were stolen lmao. I didn't care much at the time and I don't care much now, though.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of?
Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yeah! With the cryptid roommate! The Clue fic (it's Supernatural, that's you're only warning).
What‘s your all-time favourite ship?
That's a hard one. I think - if folks know me for any ship - they probably know me for Birdflash? That's definitely up there. In this minute, right now, though? Maybe Matt/Frank. Maybe TimKon. I'm not good at picking favourites.
What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Unrepentant. :/ I wanna do it, but at this point it's been so long I don't think I can fool myself about it.
What’s your writing strengths?
Dialogue (or so I like to think). It's what I have the most fun with, anyway.
What’s your writing weaknesses?
Remembering what I wrote, probably.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I prefer it in moderation? I dunno, I think dabbling in other languages isn't a bad thing, but for myself I do like to understand what I'm putting to paper.
But also I don't like when an English fic sticks Cyrillic or katakana or whatever else into dialogue - Romanize that, so it can be read, however roughly, please. Otherwise I hear like... Villager Gibberish when my eyes pass over it and that's low-key uncomfy lmao.
First fandom you wrote for?
Prrrobably Kingdom Hearts? Or Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core? Damn, going all the way back to my pre-AO3 days, there. And pre-fanficdotnet days.
Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Right now, my favourite written/shared fic is Signs and Portents. It's a Fusion Fic of Supernatural and the movie Signs. I deeply enjoyed writing it. Sadly, it's not quite what folks were looking for to read. XD that's fine, though, since I wrote it for me, anyway.
Too tired to tag anyone, sorry. ✌️ If you feel like doing it, then you're it now. You're officially tag. Shoo, go write up your answers!

Hi, I recently found the post you made awhile ago talking about Burns family ships while looking for Graham/Amy stuff, and you mentioned writing a fic set ten years after the show ends. I don't know how long ago that was, but would you mind sharing more about that fic, I'm personally very intrigued.
Ah yes! It might not be happening anymore, but here were some of my plans.
It would have been part of a crossover involving both Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. A lot of work had gone into setting up how DC, Marvel, and Star Wars coexist earlier in the series (that part I am still planning to write) before Transformers entered the picture (which probably won't happen anymore.)
The year is 2025. The Batmobile is a Decepticon OC of mine named LS. IDW based Drift is partnered with Nightwing. IDW based Red Alert is also partnered with Red Robin. TFP Soundwave is partners with Black Bat. Whirl Sr. and Harley Quinn are partners too.
The Coruscant Guard (who are alive after Order 66 due to some Marvel based shenanigans) have moved to Gotham and work with the GPD. Also, Mandalore has an embassy in Gotham because they think the city is neat. (It's trying to kill them, just like home!)
Chief Burns had grown up in Gotham. His mom had run away from home (Griffin Rock) for love, but her husband turned out to be a jerk and left her and the kids. She died from an illness, and Charlie joined a gang to put bread on the table. Charlie killed a man from a rival gang in self-defense at the young age of 16. Woodrow was worried for his bro, and in an age before Batman, reached out to my oc hero Foxglove. Foxglove in turn reached out to Jim Gordon's dad, who took in the two Burns boys.
After reconnecting with his grandfather and losing his wife to Crime Alley, Chief moved to Griffin Rock. But Dani, Kade, and Graham are old enough to remember and consider Gotham home.
Kade is also Babara Gordon's favorite cousin.
The year is 2025, and Babs is getting married to Dick Grayson. Kade thinks his cousin can do much better than that bimbo and is very vocal about it. Babs invites Kade to come and see why she's not settling.
Dani has also been dating a guy online named Thire, who works for the GPD. He's let her know he's got some "interesting life facts" he'd like to share in person, and she knows she'll have to tell him about Blades if things are going to get serious. But her Uncle Jim says Thire is a real good guy so she's not too worried.
The We Are Robin has also started and is not going away. They are joined by the Blanks, a group of anonymous young clones going behind their older brothers' backs to protect their new home in Gotham. Commissioner Gordon calls in Chief Burns to negotiate with the teens to find an agreement the adults can live with.
So this gets Chief, Dani, Kade, and Heatwave in Gotham for a visits.
Dani has a very fun date with Thire, who is a clone. Fox, Chief, and Gordon have way to much fun running into the couple and Fox gives Thire a hard time about it in a teasing way.
It is revealed Blades is like a dad to Drift, and Drift was like a dad to Wedge back when he was Deadlock. There is much angst as Drift frets about his past. It's a whole thing to convince him Blades will still love him. Blades and Wedge are both thrilled to be reunited with Drift.
Whirl Sr. and Whirl Jr. also have a wonderful reunion.
Kade learns he saved Ketsu Onyo once years ago and she finds that hot. He gets a date out of it. He can't help it her kid is adorable! (She was at the Embassy when Kade came to visit.)
Also, somehow, the Burns somehow get included in the "We know who Batman is" club.
As for more normal stuff? Cody and Frankie are married. So are Graham and Amy. Might be a few grandkids. Chief still hasn't managed to retire yet. Cody is a paramedic, but he feels his calling might not be in rescue work.
Yeah. So that's a bunch of thoughts I had. Here's a fic I wrote to lay the groundwork for some of it.

What if “No Way Home” had more “visitors” ?
So recently on my birthday, I went and watched No Way Home: More Fun Stuff.
Anyways, it got me to remember a post I wanted to write but never got around too when No Way Home was first released. Since I had the free time to get to that, I thought I’d write them down here.
Tumblr media
As the title says, these would be my ideas for a No Way Home rewrite that involved more visitors. I’d write the fic myself, but I’m busy with multiple other WIP’s
Note: I bring up a Marvel/DC Crossover AU also shelved. The AU itself has nothing to do with these rewrites, but there was still a few things I thought was worth mentioning. I wrote one post about it here - though it’s a little out of date.
----
1. First things first; a commonality with this is that some characters almost project their feelings and relationships towards others multiversal counterparts. What I mean is, I found it a little odd that no one points out how the multiversal visitors knew one another's counterparts.
Like imagine if we got Raimiverse!Norman learning that there was an Oscorp in the Webbverse; maybe he'd ask about it to Connors and Dillon, and would learn from Connors about how Webbverse!Norman is the mastermind behind this conspiracy, but they both find Raimiverse!Norman to be a “step up” from the Norman they knew.
Tumblr media
When the Goblin gets Connors and Dillon on his side, he'd say something along the lines of "You two already work for me, if you think about it. Consider this a promotion!"
Meanwhile, Raimiverse!Octavious was acquainted with his universes Curt Connors', and he'd be a little taken aback by seeing Webbverse!Connors, how he works for Oscorp, how he became the Lizard. Connors would ask Octavious if his universes counterpart did the same; as far as Octavious knows, his world's Connors is still leading a successful career as a University Professor, even mentions Martha and Billy, which gets to Webbverse!Connors a little.
Later, we have a moment where it dawns on Toby's Peter that he's going up against an alternate version of one of his teachers. At the same time it dawns on Andrew's Peter that he's going up against an alternate version of the man who is directly or indirectly responsible for all the misery and mayhem in his life.
And finally, there's a bit where Flint Marko asks MCU!Peter a question, bringing up the uncomfortable subject of Uncle Ben. Marko remorsefully tells May and Peter that he killed Ben Parker in his universe. Peter admits that his Uncle Ben died when he was a younger kid, back in the MCU's 2007. "By this burglar" he doesn't remember. All Peter knows is that the burglar was arrested shortly after the fact. Marko apologizes, to which Peter replies "Don't worry. It's not your fault."
2. So Strange's spell pulls in people who knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man and/or died, right ? Well what if it didn't just extend to villains. Two people I'd like to see get pulled into the MCU would be TASM's George and Gwen Stacy. And Strange initially overlooks them in his search for "visitors" because they're too mundane.
Tumblr media
I'm just picturing this sequence where the Stacey's goes looking for their family in the MCU, same as Raimiverse!Norman. George goes to the NYPD precinct, where he is briefly arrested for identity theft of MCU's George, and impersonating a dead officer. It's soon discovered that the MCU's version of George Stacy was a small-time cop, who was killed along with the rest of his family during a home invasion, in the late 2000's (shortly before the events of Iron Man).
When MCU!Peter meets Webbverse!Gwen and learns of George, he uses his pull with Happy to bail him out. Stacey's killer is presumed to be Mac Gargan after getting out on bail when MCU!George arrested him. But nothing concrete connects them - It's implied that cops on Gargan's payroll looked the other way and covered everything up - really shaking George's perception of "good cops" from his precinct.   When George is up to speed on this multiverse mess, he reunites with his Gwen. Gwen, being Gwen, opts to help Peter, Michelle and Ned find and capture the other villains. You'd almost think there'd be a forced or awkward love triangle with Gwen and Michelle, but no they're pretty chill. Though Gwen barely keeps herself back from projecting her feelings for her Peter onto MCU!Peter.
Furthermore, when Gwen reunites with her dad, she talks about her life after he passed, but keeps her continued relationship with her Peter a secret, especially when it led to her death. When George inevitably finds out about it, he almost loses it and almost takes it out on MCU!Peter before calming himself from it.
My one issue is having Gwen (or George) be one of the visitors might nullify their tragedy. Especially if Andrew's Peter reunites with Gwen; suddenly his saving MJ loses its impact.
...which is why I had another idea for Gwen, but that's for later.
3. Venom, being involved in the plot.
Now I get it, the Venom tease was the joke, but if they were to utilize this ?
Tumblr media
What if two Eddie Brock's were brought into the MCU ? Because Spider-Man 3 has its Eddie Brock learning about Spider-Man's identity and he dies fighting him. So we got Tom Hardy's Eddie and Venom, as well as Topher Grace's loose in the MCU. Both reaching out to Peter Parker. To differentiate the two, Grace's Eddie is nicknamed "Junior", since he always introduced himself as "Eddie Brock Junior".
Tumblr media
While Hardy's Venom is still an Anti Hero, and his Eddie is considerably more friendly and empathetic towards Peter ? Grace's Eddie and Venom still play the villain role, and are portrayed as the only ones besides the Goblin who are completely irredeemable; being Kasady/Carnage in all but name.
This way, we get a "Spider-Man + Venom Teamup", and a "Spiderman vs Venom" story at the same time; we get Grace's Venom as a better shot at being a villain; and we get "Chad and Virgin" comparisons between the two, as a semi-Take That to Ramiverse's take on the character.
We'd also get expanded on the symbiote's Multiversal Hive Mind. While Grace and Hardy's symbiote are not the same entity, they still have linked minds. The reason Hardy's Venom is fixated on Peter Parker ? He subconsciously remembers the events of Spider-Man 3, especially how Toby's Peter rejected and killed his alternate self. He acts like a "bitter ex" about it, but begrudgingly agrees to help Holland's Peter. It's also jokingly suggested that much of Hardy!Venom's personality was subconsciously influenced by "Emo Peter".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Raimiverse!Eddie and Venom are the absolute kings of "projecting their feelings onto multiversal counterparts". He simply wants to kill MCU!Peter, because he's a Peter Parker. If Webbverse!Gwen Stacy is part of the story, he'd project his previous feelings and relationship with Raimiverse!Gwen onto her; and yes, it would be played as him being a creepy incel. By contrast, Hardy's Eddie and Venom are genuinely gentlemanly and affable towards Gwen (more on that later).
At one point, Raimiverse!Venom would seek out and try to kill MCU!Jameson on a live broadcast, out of the other Jameson firing him. Jameson would be saved by Hardy!Venom and Spider-Man working together. After which, Hardy's Eddie/Venom angrily reprimands and intimidates Jameson for doxing a kid, and his lack of integrity as a journalist, basically bullying Jameson into meekly apologizing on a broadcast.
Later, Hardy's Eddie takes Peter out for drinks (Peter: "I'm not twenty one." Venom: "Fine! You get nothing!"). We find out the SSU and the Webbverse are one and the same. Hardy's Eddie was hired by his world's Daily Bugle to dig up what he can on his world's Spider-Man. When he found out his identity, it was between the events of TASM 1 and 2, when Andrew's Peter was still seventeen. He kept Peter's identity a secret out of integrity.
Tumblr media
It also turns out Hardy's Eddie and Andrew's Peter (and Emma's Gwen) are casual acquaintances; in fact, they introduced Eddie and Anne. Venom feels a little jilted that Eddie kept this a secret from him, but gives it a pass because of the Anne thing.
Note: So about that DC/Marvel AU ? It's an MCU, Arrowverse, and DCEU world merger.
In this AU, a very similar scene occurs with Arrowverse!Kara doing the same in support of Peter; but as much as I love Kara (and Lena) being Mama Bears, it'd be more in character for Venom to pull this. Or hell, why not just have Eddie/Venom and Kara both have at it with Jameson.
4. This one's more for a joke.
I thought if Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock is in a movie where the multiverse is a thing - a movie that features Jon Faverau, no less ? - Why not Shout Out to 2003's Daredevil ?
Toby's Peter spends a few days going around the MCU, looking into things. He finds out about Nelson and Murdock Law Office, and their handling of the Mysterio case, and investigates them. Raimiverse!Peter has a quick encounter with Happy at these offices, but briefly mistakes him for Foggy (within earshot Henson's Foggy), before correcting himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The implication being that Daredevil 2003 is set in the Raimiverse, and that Toby's Peter is at least familiar with Affleck's Matt, and Faverau's Foggy. For those who don't know, there was a (non canon) animated series based off the Raimi films, in which Michael Clarke Duncan reprises his role as Wilson Fisk.
Note: I also had a similar joke for the Marvel/DC crossover AU.
It would turn out members of Wayne Industries were involved in the Mysterio conspiracy (Wayne Industries often former Stark employee, and used the company's money and resources as part of the scheme). Affleck's Bruce Wayne, as well as Happy, end up attending a meeting with Charlie's Matt and Elden's Foggy to discuss this matter.
Tumblr media
The joke was nothing more than "Hey, it's the old Matt and Foggy in the same room as the new ones!" 5. Harry Osborn.
When Norman is first wandering the MCU’s New York, he hears of a "Harry Osborn" being arrested for assaulting a security guard at the MCU’s Ravencroft. Norman rushes to the police station, introducing himself as Harry's father...only to find out that it's Dane DeHaan’s Harry, much to Norman’s confusion.
Tumblr media
DeHaan's Harry thinks Dafoe's Norman is some crazy homeless guy, and pushes him away. Harry ends up in jail since neither he nor Norman have the money to bail him out, but Peter and Happy use their pull to get Harry bailed out. Harry soon learns of the multiverse, that Raimiverse!Norman is an alternate version of his father, and that Raimiverse!Norman and Harry had a considerably more loving relationship.
Norman learns from Marko what his Harry was up to, and is horrified to hear of his death. He also learns of the Oscorp conspiracy of the Webbverse from Max, Connors, and Harry. All the while, the Green Goblin is pleased to hear that his Webbverse counterpart had an "empire" at his fingertips, and considers the Webbverse the next world to conquer after the MCU.
While Peter is working on trying to cure the villains, Norman makes an attempt to connect with Harry. Harry's a little taken aback because his father had little care for him, and it's clear that Norman is kind of projecting the other Harry onto him. It doesn't work as well as Norman hoped, especially when Harry brings up the ruthless streak he took before becoming his worlds Goblin, and even the murder of Gwen Stacy - all without the split personality of the Goblin.
Tumblr media
Norman is also put off to learn that this Harry was continuing his work from jail, and that he has no remorse for killing Gwen. The Green Goblin is pleased to hear that, thinking Webbverse!Harry makes for a worthy successor than his Harry. The Goblin slips through the cracks here and there and encourages Harry's ruthless streak, and uses "Norman" to give Harry validation that he's been seeking. They secretly work together to modify the Goblin serum with the spider venom in Harry's blood, which "Norman" takes for enhancements.
The Goblin would then leave Harry to die in the destruction of Happy's apartment; "Sorry kid. Gods don't need heirs." Harry would be rescued from the wreckage and begrudgingly conscripted into working on cures with the three Peter's; Andrew's Peter especially holding animosity towards him. Though the blow is lessened if he finds out Gwen was pulled into the MCU as well.
The part where I get iffy on if Franco's Harry should also be pulled into the MCU ? He knows Peter's identity and he died at the end of Spider-Man 3. And while I’d like to see Franco's and DeHaan's Harrys play off each other...at the same time I worry it nullifies Franco's send off in Spider-Man 3. I genuinely thought it was a decent end to his arc. And Norman returning to a world where his son has been dead for years adds to the tragedy of his character.
Plus, what would Franco's Harry do that he already hasn't done in Spider-Man 3 ? Show up in the third act and help fight the other villains ? It'd be too redundant.
As for DeHaan's Harry ? He's get's the more bitter and tragic send off. He's pulled back into his universe, he's cured of his disease, but he's not really redeemed. But just when he thought he found a version of his father who cared about him, he's manipulated again, and is set to go back to jail, with nothing else to do but continue Oscorp's work from behind the bars. And it's not like he and Andrew's Peter reconcile; again, nothing short of Gwen being in the story would soften the blow.
He's "fixed"...but he's still broken. 6. Alternate Gwen Stacey idea.
So one idea I had was Gwen being present throughout NWH, and as much as I like the idea of Gwen joining MCU!Peter, MJ and Ned...I'd feel it's nullify the impact her death still has on Andrew's Peter, and his saving MJ would be less of redeeming a past failure.
With that said, I had another idea involving Gwen, that could even work for a No Way Home sequel.
When the fabric of the multiverse begins to rip open, Strange does his memory wipe and closes off the multiverse, one straggler falls through. That would be Gwen, and since she's not from the MCU, the memory wipe has no effect on her. Since Gwen was one person, and considerably mundane, it was easy for Strange to overlook her.
Tumblr media
Initially displaced and confused, Gwen soon learns that it's 2023/4 in this world, and that superheroes, aliens and magic are common. To find her footing in this world, Gwen applies to Stark Industries, quickly getting into the same position she was at Oscorp, while looking into the Stacey family in the MCU. The same backstory is used; MCU!George Stacey was a small-time cop, who arrested Mac Gargan before he was released on parole; shortly after, the whole Stacey family was killed in a home invasion.
Furthermore, Gwen learns of this worlds Spider-Man's previous ties to The Avengers, and the Mysterio controversy; while no one remembers Peter himself, Mysterio's attempt to frame Spider-Man otherwise went the same; and as of the memory wipe, seemingly the only Avengers who knew Spider-Man's identity are either dead, or didn't interact with him long enough to remember him anyways.
This would include Michelle and Ned, who have memories of Spider-Man, but the memories of Peter are blank, leaving gaps in their memory the more they think about it.
Tumblr media
Gwen eventually tracks down and reaches out to MCU's Peter. Peter's very reluctant to let her in, but he feels he needs someone to show he's not alone, though Gwen tells Peter she intends to return to her home. Peter is further reluctant considering that tampering with the multiverse got him into this mess in the first place.
Even so, Gwen learns of Peter's old life and takes it upon herself to try to get it back on track, while trying to find her own way home. She tries to reintroduce Peter with Ned and MJ, despite Peter's resistance and reluctance.
Would Gwen and MCU!Peter hook up ? Maybe ? It's a dynamic I wouldn't mind seeing, but I think the actual relationship would have an underlying toxicity.
Peter accepts Gwen's company, but it's clear he's using her as an emotional crutch - and is still holding a torch for MJ - while Gwen is subconsciously projecting her relationship with her Peter onto his MCU counterpart. Not helping in that in her attempts to reconnect Peter with his old life, Gwen genuinely befriends Michelle and starts to feel guilty over this relationship; especially since she’s still trying to return home with Andrew’s Peter still out there..
I would think Gwen's arc would ultimately end with her returning to her world, but not before she gets Spider powers of her own. How ? I haven't thought through. One idea I had was that the memory spell is reversed just enough to punch a small hole into the multiverse, allowing her to slip through. This would lead to a Spider-Gwen solo film set in the SSU.
However, this rip in the multiverse leads to one universe bleeding into another; revealing the X-Men film series to be an adjacent universe; leading to a new big crossover event, and the MCU debuted of-
Tumblr media
Though if I’m being realistic ? I’m betting that No Way Home’s ending alone is what brings Wade to the MCU, but that’s a whole other post.
Back to the Marvel/DC crossover AU: I’ve also been wanting to do a post No Way Home story that features Peter ending up in Gotham (Post Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Post Bird’s of Prey).
It would have involved Bruce looking into Mysterio conspiracy further, due to former Wayne employees being involved. He ends up investigating Spider-Man for his supposed involvement, while avoiding his mistakes in Batman V. Superman, while Peter continuously rejects Batman’s help as he’s still aiming for independence (he’s also aware of Batman’s rep from BVS).
I also never could decide on a villain.

hey! how knowledgeable are you on stephanie brown? because i got in a bit of an argument with a dc fan on reddit who claims she's all these awful things, but im still relatively new to steph and i want to see what was true and what wasn't. link to screenie right here: https://ibb.co/vh6CYCJ
these may be matters of opinion, but even then, i'd like to know your take. i haven't read her firsthand often enough and i trust your judgement over this random redditor who seems to have some sort of blonde-woman related trauma left untapped.
I'm not necessarily the most knowledgable on her in the world, but I do know a decent amount because she's one of my absolute faves and I love her
But ohhhh boy that screenshot is a lot.
I will say that several of the things this person brings up are based in canon but are taken in the worst faith and framed in the way that makes her look as bad as possible, if that makes sense? It’s ripping things away from any context, because there's a very clear bias against her here.
I'll go through it point by point under the cut
First of all though before digging into this, I want to make it clear she was a 15 year old for the majority of the things this person is talking about. Like just pause for a second and remember she’s a 15 year old victim of abuse. That is something that I think factors into a lot of her behavior! Anyways, I kinda while doing this got into a ranty 'talking at you' format in response to the person who wrote all that, so don't take any of this as me yelling at you who asked the question/you anyone reading this.
Tumblr media
"She always acted entitled" - Saying Steph is entitled is absolutely ridiculous to me. Stephanie grew up with a very unstable childhood due to her dad frequently being in prison and her mom dealing with a drug addiction, living in a lower class part of the city. Tim is entitled. I don’t mean that as like a bad thing about him, but he is based on his living situation, she is not. She has wanted life to be better for herself and her mom, and is determined about that, but she is not and does not act entitled.
Tumblr media
(Secret Origins 80 Page Giant)
"and stubborn" - I will give you stubborn though, that one is true. She’s stubborn as hell! I don’t really see that as a bad thing though, pretty much every bat is stubborn?
"demanding that Batman and Robin accept her untrained ass" - Steph may have been untrained in fighting but she's shown to have exceptional gymnastics skills from the start, and at one point Bruce even says that with the right training she could be as good if not better than Tim (in Robin #88)! So like... her realizing she enjoys trying to be a hero after she tried it out to deal with her personal business, so she looks to the local experts… and is determined about it… how is that a bad thing? It’s also not like she walked up to them and said ‘im perfect as i am let me in’ what she wanted was a chance to be a hero. But she also wasn't even really looking for approval, either, not having Batman's blessing was never going to stop her. ("So excuse me if I don't jump when you bark, Batman." in Robin #16) Later when Bruce does bring her in to train (and she also gets to train with the BoP) she's excited! She’s stubborn about wanting to be in the hero business, but it’s not like she’s unwilling to work for it.
"advocating leaving criminals to die because they 'deserve it'" - She’s a 15 year old who grew up knowing firsthand how dangerous Gotham criminals can be because of her dad, of course off the bat when they’re in a dangerous situation where any of them could die (because that’s the context here, this is in Robin #35 where they’re trapped in some super dangerous snow) she thinks they shouldn’t go back for another criminal who just tried to kill them and should instead save themselves. But she also literally WITHIN THAT SAME ISSUE then says she realized she learned something after listening to Tim and trying to save the guy! In the same issue! Characters in a story aren’t supposed to be perfect from the start… they learn things along the way???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Robin #35)
"trying to steal from the shops they just stopped from being burglarized" - She’s 15 and doesn’t have a ton of money. She was gonna take two sodas, and when Tim said not to do it she paid with very little fuss. They stopped people who were robbing the place at gunpoint for prescription drugs. If you can’t understand the difference in severity between those things like… I do not even know where to start. (this situation is in Robin #56 btw)
"forcing physical affection onto Tim despite his visible discomfort and repeated objections (not even stopping when he told her he had a girlfriend)" - This one I will give you because she did cross boundaries with all that! But I do also want to clarify that she didn't start coming onto him until after Tim kissed her first (in Robin #5) while not telling her he had a girlfriend. That doesn’t excuse her later actions but for the first issue that she’s coming onto him from her perspective he expressed interest and she was just returning it! She even specifically says 'Maybe I should pay you back for saving my life the same way you paid me' (in Robin #16) before kissing him. That first time she kissed him unprompted was under essentially the same circumstances he kissed her unprompted, and she literally did not know about Ariana until after the fact. From that point once she knew about Ari she definitely should have backed off and she didn’t, that’s a very fair thing to criticize about her as a character. But Tim lead her on first, and I feel a lot of people like to casually forget that when talking about this situation. The way this is phrased of ‘not even stopping when he told her-‘ implies she was repeatedly doing the bad behavior before he told her, which is not the case. She still did bad things here but don’t misrepresent the situation.
"And lashing out at Tim, her mother, and her classmates in violent fits of anger" - Every comic book character lashes out at other people for the sake of drama like, I dare you to come up with a well-known superhero character who hasn’t done shit like that to a partner/family/friends in a moment of high tension/stress?
Tumblr media
"She treated the girls around her like they were stupid bitches" - frankly this ones a little too vague like, I'm not sure off the top of my head exactly what they're talking about? in that era right around her pregnancy and stuff I really don't recall her being mean with other girls? I could be forgetting something I guess but the closest I can think of is a bit after this period of time when she has the confrontation with Greta in Young Justice but that was Greta attacking her first, not the other way around.
"got insanely jealous if Tim so much as expressed concern about another girl" - Steph getting jealous and thinking Tim was cheating isn’t that crazy when STEPHANIE BASICALLY WAS THE OTHER GIRL DURING TIM’S LAST RELATIONSHIP? Tim has cheated a little bit before! Tim cheated on Ari with both Jubilee from Marvel (during a crossover thing where he even mentions Ari specifically so it’s not like this was out of continuity/a setting she wasn't an issue or something) and also with Steph. While most of the kissing between them was Steph coming onto Tim which I wouldn’t count as cheating on his end, he did still kiss her which I would count. Not to mention that the jealousy thing (I imagine they’re talking about the instance with Star, the girl who taught Tim to skateboard, this arc of stuff starts in Robin #80 and continues for a few issues) is happening during the time she’s dating him while she still doesn’t even know his real name. He literally has a whole other life she doesn’t know about, and is someone who has initiated romantic moments with other girls while in a relationship multiple times before! With that in mind I don’t think a 16 (she's def 16 by this point) year old girl being kinda paranoid about how he interacts with girls he might know in his civilian life is that unreasonable? The later big instance with jealousy is the Darla situation- where Steph sees Darla kiss him and gets mad about it (and doesn’t talk to him about it) and thats what prompts her to become Robin. The important thing to remember about Steph in this time frame is that DC decided she had to die and they wanted to make her Robin first to drum up more attention for that death. They were doing ooc things with her to set those pieces in motion, and that needs to be taken into account. I think her getting upset about seeing something like that isn’t even ooc, but her using it as motivation to become Robin and not even saying anything to him about it is. In the earlier instance where she’s upset/jealous about Star, she does communicate to him what’s going on at least a little bit on the rooftop after they’d saved her. She makes it clear the thing she was upset about is that she feels like she can’t trust him because she doesn’t really know him while he knows everything about her, and that’s why she thinks he’s cheating. Her reaction to the Darla thing is not in line with how earlier in canon Steph would have handled the same situation, because they wanted her to die and needed a way to explain her becoming Robin.
"and expressed that jealousy by accusing him of cheating and throwing things at him" - I just addressed the cheating stuff but the throwing things was fucking slapstick oh my god this is a comic book for kids/teens like. ah yes this is horrible abuse in this little funny montage of how Steph wants him to leave her alone because she’s mad at him and he refuses to give her space
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Robin #82)
Tumblr media
I don’t think anyone at DC or even in fandom would/should try to argue she’s perfect, because she’s not! And I don’t want her to be because perfect characters are boring. Steph is flawed, Steph has been compared in canon to Robin-era Jason by Cass & Bruce
Tumblr media
(Detective Comics #790)
And I think these highlight some of her very real flaws that are an interesting part of her character. These plus her stubbornness and determination are part of what makes her her.
And for fuck's sake the world was mean to her, and to act like it wasn’t is just blatantly ignoring a lot. A criminal father who made her life really difficult (‘when my dad was mad at me he’d lock me in the closet!’), that time she got kidnapped for two weeks and her mom had left her (a 15 year old) alone at home so long she didn't even find out it happened (in text Steph says Crystal was visiting friends, a lot of people interpret that as her mom possibly being in rehab for her addictions again), that whole thing about how one of her dad’s friends tried to sexually assault her as a child, also just how due to her dad's work sometimes criminals would be living in their house (Literally the fucking Riddler at one point!), the fact that we as an audience watched her get tortured for several days because a plan she tried to enact to prove herself backfired since Batman didn’t trust her with important information (something Selina even calls him out on in her internal narration), like… sorry but in what way is all that not the world being mean to her?
She was Robin, she dated Robin, she likes Eggplant (because purple would've looked stupid), and makes jokes. She’s also impulsive, headstrong and determined, and wants to prove to herself and others that she can be more than just the daughter of a shitty criminal, that she can actually be a force to do good in the world.
She’s a complex character, and nobody is required to like her, but to act like she doesn’t have a single redeeming trait is ridiculous. You could write a paragraph like that with the worst moments of basically any character and make them look like shit if that's what you were setting out to do.

got tagged for two fic writer memes yesterday! the one from @ameliarating first:
How many works do you have on AO3?
509.
What’s your total AO3 word count?
3,432,24. dang! that’s a lot of words
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
I have written for...counting the MCU as one fandom, on AO3 I have written for 32 fandoms, including at least one work in:
MCU, The Sillmarillion, Caliban Leandros, both DC and Marvel Comics, the book Barebacked by Kit Whitfield, Doctrine of Labyrinths, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Wars, Black Jewels, Dragon Age, Lucifer, Dexter, Temeraire, Gentleman Bastard Sequence, Supernatural, A Song of Ice and Fire, Greek Mythology, Lymond Chronicles, Merlin BBC, Code Geass, Good Omens,  Death Note, and White Collar.
this is not a comprehensive list of every fandom I’ve ever written for, because it is not including ones that live only on FFN or Livejournal.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Life In Reverse tops the list (11066), aka my 200k Loki-centric post-Thor AU fic that I wrote between 2012 and 2018 and with which I have a decidedly complex relationship at this point. I love it but also I no longer think it’s my best work but also I credit it with teaching me a fuck of a lot about writing and writing longer projects in general.
With Absolute Splendor is rapidly catching up, to my astonishment (6559), despite having been posted for less than half as long. Aka the wedding planning fic that’s really just me mucking about in my Jiang Cheng and my Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian feelings, at length.
some good mistakes (4618) was my first foray into the Untamed version of “characters who hate each other going on resentful roadtrips together, feat. Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng.” I have gone on to write others and will continue to write more.
Unraveling (3069) is a little bit of a surprise but also not - it was originally just sort of WWP stuff for my ‘what if people remembered that blunt force trauma is a really bad thing actually’ problem that pops up sometimes, re: Loki at the end of The Avengers, and then it kind of turned into a whole thing. I personally think it’s the weakest of the installments of the series it belongs to, but it is the first one and also the one that gets least into the broader family dysfunction and depression stuff that probably is less everyone’s thing (but is what came out this fic that mattered more to me, personally).
I am a little surprised to see Steve Rogers’ Halfway House for Notorious Supervillains (3068) here too! I was expecting one of the more...idk, mainstream concepts from the MCU to win out? But I also wasn’t expecting two Untamed fics to make it here, either. But I am stupid proud of this fic even if it is very extraordinarily unfinished. This is one of those unfinished fics that will nag at me unless and until I finish it, at least a little, because the concept - if I do say so myself - is so goddamn good and I think I was executing it pretty well, too.
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Pretty much never. I was never very good at it and now I’d feel like I had to go back and reply to all of them and I just. I can’t do that. and when I do try to just start at the beginning I get overwhelmed very fast and start avoiding it.
Basically I decided that if it’s a decision between wrestling with myself to reply to comments versus actually doing more writing I’m going to end up landing on the latter as feeling both more doable and more productive.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
probably it’s The Worlds Forgotten, the Words Forbidden for sheer level of “so then what was the point” of it all. but like. I’ve definitely written a few extraordinarily miserable fics, and by “a few” I kind of mean “a lot.” Other nominees I’d put down might be nor autumn falter (for currently personally making me suffer most), once there was a way to get back home (for I think having the ouchiest summary), and Waiting for the Summer Rain (which remains one of my personal favorite Supernatural fics I wrote).
but like. there are 43 fics I have marked with Major Character Death warnings and every single one of those, pretty much, has a downer ending.
Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I have written several though not in a long time! My craziest probably remains the Morgoth/Cthulhu short I wrote that actually got sporked because someone took it seriously (???) enough to do that. But the craziest that actually has any merit, (I’d argue) is probably the Maeglin/Viserys one.
not linking to either, if you want to go find them I don’t think it’ll be that hard.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yeah, a few times on a few different things. More if you count “people who seem to like the fic but love telling you how much they hate the female characters you’re writing about in it” as ‘hate’ which I would but isn’t, you know, quite as straightforward. If I had a nickel for every time someone bitched about Jane in Life in Reverse, though...lots of nickels.
Do you write smut? if so what kind?
Sure do! But what does ‘what kind’ mean, I don’t know how to answer that question. I feel tempted to just put in my “Mike’s Hard Kinks” image edit in this space.
I guess usually I tend to write smut that at least involves a little bit of a kink? I don’t think I’d feel comfortable writing entirely kinkless smut. I think I’d feel weird about it, the same way I do when I write really nice fic, generally.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I think I did back when but I don’t remember anything about it. I feel like it was one of those mass data scraping things where my fic happened to be among those caught up in it.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I have! several actually, mostly into Russian and Chinese. every time it happens I’m immensely flattered that someone wants to put in that kind of work on something I wrote.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I think I’d be very, very bad at it.
What’s your all time favorite ship?
Depends on when you ask me! I could probably give you a top five but then I’d remember six that I forgot to mention five minutes later. I guess if I were to think about ships that feel like they hold very special particular places in my heart... Xue Yang/Xiao Xingchen, Steve Rogers/Loki, and Min/Rand come to mind.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
oh god do you want the whole list cause honestly I could just like. screencap the entirety of my “in progress” folder with a crying emoji watermarked over it. and that’s not getting into the fics that are like...half formed babies in my consciousness but not anywhere on paper.
and also I just hate to admit that I might not finish something.
you know what? the Lucifer/Good Omens crossover I started would’ve been a lot of fun. I’m probably never going to finish it, but it would’ve been great if I had. I know other people did it too but my contribution could’ve been amazing.
I can say this very boldly with the near certainty that I’m not going to finish the fic so no one will be able to disagree.
(...also the Last Herald-Mage fix it. that was going to be a good fic too, and also will probably languish unfinished forever.)
What are your writing strengths?
I’m pretty sure dialogue is my strongest point. Dialogue and emotions, which is why I always end up just wanting to write about characters talking and having feelings at each other.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing action sequences throws me into conniptions every time I have to do it and I will take drastic actions sometimes to avoid doing it at all, which probably weakens the work as a whole.
Also, I don’t plan ahead and this means I write myself into corners kind of a lot. If I wasn’t writing long, dense fic it wouldn’t be a problem but here we are.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I tend to avoid it unless it’s in the context of, as in CQL/MDZS fic, leaving certain terminology untranslated. I’m pretty sure I almost never write full exchanges of dialogue in a different language than I’m using for the narration within a fic, and generally speaking my reaction to other people doing it is at least mildly negative.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter was technically the first fandom I wrote for, but it was a crack fic I wrote to make my friends laugh more than anything; I tend to count Wheel of Time as my first actual fandom for which I wrote my first actual fic.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
some days the answer is “all of them” and some day the answer is “I don’t like anything I’ve written in my entire life” and I never like giving this a definitive answer. yesterday I reread efforts in a common cause (the bound copy!! thanks @spockandawe) and you know what, that was a good fic and I’m proud of it, so I’m going with that one, for this meme, today.

Got tagged by @izzizzels and for this procrastinating fanfic writer ask game, and immediately jumped on the chance - editing is a pain and I'll take any distraction I can get.
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
Seven! I actually have a lot more on my laptop but I’m way too insecure to ever upload them. Or I did upload them and deleted them a day later. My fic folder is a dark place.
2) What’s your total AO3 word count?
~102k.
3) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
I’ve uploaded fics for four fandoms: Amphibia, Dimension 20, Critical Role and The Magnus Archives (…one is not like the other). But again, I’ve written tons of short drabbles and oneshots for other fandoms. YA-books, cartoons, DC & Marvel, etc.
4) What are your top five fics by kudos?
- A Theory of Butterflies and Other Insects
Atobaoi, my beloved <3 Gen longfic, still ongoing. This roleswap AU is almost halfway done and boy am I having a blast writing this. This reimagining of the canon show takes a deep dive in exploring the girls’ flaws and strengths as they each arrive in a different place; Sasha with the frogs, Marcy with the toads and Anne with the newts. The concept in itself isn’t wholly original but I’d like to think that I’ve made it stand out with its lore, mysteries and twists. There’s still much to come.
- Late Night Vigils
I wrote this Magnus Archive oneshot around 3 am and although my perception of Daisy as a character has shifted as the podcast progressed, I still really like this surprisingly fluffy fic of her and Jon bonding over their similar trauma.
- King's Gambit
Marcy and King Andrias have a jolly good time playing chess! I’ve played chess on a national level for a couple of years and I just can’t stop peppering in those delicious metaphors.
- The Emptiness in Loyalty
Oh, this is an oldie, mostly disproven by canon at this point. Critical Role oneshot, focusing on Astrid and her relationship with an institutionalized Caleb/Bren from the point of his breakdown to his escape. It’s very bittersweet and although my writing has definitely improved, I still occasionally look at it with fondness.
- The Hare and the Fox
Queen Sasha AU lives rent free in my brain. This two-chaptered fic of a very different Marcy and Sasha reuniting after many long years is unflinchingly brutal and it was so much fun to write.
5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I always try to do that! Even just with a ‘thank you’. I get immensely excited when someone drops a comment analyzing atobaoi or theorizing about the plot, that is the best feeling in the world and I want to show how I appreciate it, even if it takes a little while to respond. Fanfic is great because the line between author and reader is so thin and I enjoy the sense of community it fosters.
6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I was originally going to say The Hare and the Foxbecause it ends on a very bleak note, with few things being resolved. But then I remember the knife to the gut that is King’s Gambit. That Hurt No Comfort tag is there for a reason.
7) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Mmmmm not really, the closest thing is a Fantasy High AU set in the world of Dragon Age.
8) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Nope! I did get some skeptic comments when I posted the first chapter of atobaoi, but a lot of those people are still reading along and say the sweetest things whenever I update.
9) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Nope!
10) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes and no – very long story, very complicated. Let’s just leave it at no.
11) Have you ever had a fic translated?
I have not!
12) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, and there are (I think) only two people I would consider co-writing a fic with, but I would feel a bit less anxious proposing marriage to them than asking them to collaborate, so. We’ll see.
13) What’s your all time favourite ship?
I’m not much of a shipper! If you’d point a knife at me I’d probably say Perc’alia or Shadowgast, but mostly because of their fantastic dynamics rather than the romantic aspect. Romance in itself is not very interesting to me.
14) What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
* stares longingly at my extremely self-indulgent post-Night Marcy Memory Loss fic *
15) What are your writing strengths?
Creating coherent narrative arcs, creative plot twists, and emotional scenes. I tend to focus a lot on the (overall) plot of my stories and make sure they’re sturdy without any holes or weaknesses.
16) What are your writing weaknesses?
Characterization and detailed descriptions. This is partially because I am not a native English speaker and sometimes struggle to get a good grasp on the language.
17) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I’m not a fan of the Gratuitous [Insert Foreign Language] trope, mostly because in my opinion a lack of research and/or linguistic awareness often leads to butchered language, which always bothers me a lot. Translation footnotes or parentheses, while sometimes necessary, don’t help out much and often distract from the pacing.
When writing dialogue between two characters, one of whom has a second language, I rely on my own experience, throwing in a word or two in situations where it would make sense while the reader is still able to follow the conversation. When two characters are discussing something in their native language I just describe they’re talking in their native language.
18) What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Oh gods, please don’t ever ask about that phase of my life, but Voltron. To look at those unfinished fics in my folder is like gazing into the abyss.
19) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
The Tales A Dead Man Tells takes a close runner up, but after all the effort and love I’ve put into it, A Theory of Butterflies and Other Insects comes first place. I started dipping my toes into the Amphibia community after posting this fic and the outpour or support and enthusiasm was heartwarming. I’m really glad to be here and I can’t wait to show you all what's in store.

Fic Writer Review
tagged by: @aj-itated <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 30!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 46,254 words
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? based on my Ao3 and my old ff.net account: 3 - Fairy Tail, BNHA, DP (though I haven't written for Fairy Tail or bnha in years)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? in order, that would be How to Take Out a Ghost by TooFineFoley, Bad Luck Tuck: The Sequel, ignorance is your new best friend, What Could Have Been, and, surprisingly, A Connoisseur of Fine Art (all DP or DP crossover fics)
5. Which of your fic do you want more attention for? both they're siblings, your honor and Big Boy Tucker. i can't choose, they both need love
6. Do you respond to comments, why or why not? i used to respond to them as often as I could at the start, but i kinda slacked off sometime around the beginning of summer classes. I used to respond to them because they made me really happy and i wanted to let the commenters know I did actually read it and am very grateful for their comments, but after a while it became... idk, draining? I felt bad about leaving the same response to each commenter and got caught up in my own head so I just kinda,, stopped all together. I wanna start responding again at some point, but uh, probably not anytime soon.
7. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
oh definitely One More Time; I think that's the only fic I've written without some kind of happy ending (anything in the Not Your Son series doesn't count since it's not finished yet :3) and I can't tell you how much it pained me not to make it happy. Don't get me wrong, I loved writing that for going angst week but hole-y shit did it fuck me up
8. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you’ve written? I do write crossovers! The craziest, I think, is my Strange vs. Work: Wife Swap AU, it's not done because I'm seriously stumped for it right now, but it's essentially a DP Marvel crossover where Clockwork and Dr. Strange are forced by a TV host ghost to switch bodies and mentor the other person's 'apprentice'. Peter and Danny have to help them get adjusted to their new environments/bodies and they all have to figure out how to turn things back to normal. This whole series is meant to be based off the show 'Wife Swap'. I have fun making Stephen suffer >:)
9. Have you ever received hate on a fic? not that i can remember? like i think it was more grammar and dialogue punctuation nitpicking on my old ff.net fics, never hate
10. Do you write smut? if so what kind? not really, but i have a singular wip that im working on that's definitely spicy
11. Have you ever had a fic translated? nope
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before? no? (i was working on something a while ago but we havent finished so, I'm going with no)
13. What’s your all time favorite ship? i don't think I really have one. Usually I just read whichever fics have cool summaries or tags and just dive right in, ships be damned. Lately I've been reading a few TimKon fics and I've been thinking about Dark Ages, UFS, and Gray Ghost stuff a lot over the summer
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? oh, oh god. I'm going to say it and I'm going to feel real shitty about it because it's such a good fucking concept, but I can't bring myself to write anything more than what I already have written and all the notes I just randomly add onto it every once in a while. It even has a title: "Ectoplasmic Pudding".
It's a DP DC crossover fic wip and the plot is about Danny being called by Batman to help with a kidnapping case he suspects to involve ghosts; he needs Danny's expertise and help to capture the ghost. Danny agrees and he meets Batman and Robin (Dick Grayson) on the roof of the police station (after dropping face first onto it because he got blinded by the bat signal). They go by Batmobile and arrive at the scene of the crime where Danny confirms a ghost is involved. A bunch of different scenes of Danny and Robin having a blast while Batman's trying his best to stay on task and then, eventually, they find a warehouse where the box ghost is interrogating a bored looking Mr. Trand, the victim, about some fancy box commissioned by Vlad.
Danny figures out this guy is Bertrand in disguise and since Bertrand's essentially on vacation, they both agree to lie about how they know each other. And then I got stuck around here, but I imagine it just ends up being a series of dumb events where Batman, Robin, and Danny have to 'protect' Bertrand until they catch Boxy and throw him back into the Ghost Zone while the disguised ghost tries to make the most of the rest of his vacation.
Batman and Robin definitely don't believe whatever lie Danny came up with to explain how he knows Mr. Trand, but they go along with it until it's revealed in probably the worst way possible and leads to both of them trying to take the former kidnapping victim to the GIW while also trying to keep Danny from stopping them and barely listening to a word he says (maybe they think he's being threatened somehow or being controlled or smth, idk). Absolutely no clue how that whole fight goes, but in the end Danny kicks Box Ghost into the Zone and Bertrand is told very explicitly never to bring Spectra to Gotham.
15. What are your writing strengths? evoking emotion in my writing? yeah i'm going with that
16. What are your writing weaknesses? planning out plot ahead of time. I can write outlines and write a bunch of notes about what i want to include, that's not the problem. My problem is that all my motivation to write just drains away the moment I have a somewhat concrete plot planned out for a fic- this applies to one-shots and longfics exactly the same. And past that, sometimes I'll make one change to the planned plot and feel like tossing the whole thing out the window and going freehand without the 'constraints' of an outline or anything ..........
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? try not to offend anybody? like, look at good examples of how others have done it and do a lot of research and stuff. Also, be aware that not everything will translate perfectly from the original language you wrote the fic in and whatever language you're translating it to.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for? Fairy Tail
19. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? Hellbent. A few others come close, but I seriously cannot express the joy i felt writing that first chapter (and when I'm done my minibang fic, I literally cannot wait to get back to it)
20. What fic are you most proud of? that's a tough one, there are a bunch i fucking adore but i think it's tied between The Big Dipper and ignorance is your new best friend

Ven Rambles: Abandoned Lore 1
@fanfics-and-fangirling  The lore is long and kinda complicated. I’m sorry, you were probably expecting like a paragraph or 3. I basically wrote an essay on it.
Ok, so I mentioned how it’s a three way interconnected universe and a crossover. The fandoms you need to know are Miraculous Ladybug, Batman (DC), Marvel, and the CLAMP-verses, most specifically Cardcaptor Sakura and possibly XXXHolic which is in the same multi-verse so I’m counting it as one.
Some ten thousands of years ago, several world/dimension traveling magic users - the leading members of which were Clow Reed, the most powerful sorcerer in the multiverse and Ichihara Yuuko, literally known as the space-time witch, and a Loki from an older, alternate dimension - decided to make things easier for others to travel through dimensions while simultaneously creating a safe haven for their kind since there are some worlds where magic users are hunted, either for slavery or death.
They started with connecting universes in 3s, moved onto 7s, and then 9s before creating even more complex varieties of interconnecting field spells. That’s not particularly important because the universes we’re interested is one of the earliest, imperfect versions. I should have but did not make a name for what these interconnected universes are called.
The universes are set in an equilateral triangle with the three universes as cornerstones, the shape that stabilizes the plane at the center - from henceforth will be called the central plane - that is essentially the magical version of an airport. It also has the affect of stabilizing time, so instead of 1 minute to 1 month ratio between the connected universes, it’s a minute to minute thing. And it’s linked to the passage of time on Earth because Midgard is the “center of the universe“ in Marvel-verse, Miraculous-verse doesn’t have aliens (as far as I know), and DC-verse is just outnumbered. Because it’s set in an equilateral triangle, it’s shape is very delicate and a shift or misplacement could cause the entire central plane to deteriorate and collapse.
Because the central plane is entirely made of magic, I imagine it looks something like a cross between a Wuxia world and classic fantasy land. You have magic plants and creatures growing out of random crevices and bizarre weather patterns that are a result of whatever plane guardian - Clow Card creatures, bc Clow Reed would absolutely do something like that and I don’t think the other two wouldn’t really object- is active and doing their job that day. But because of that, central planes is also a treasure trove of magical ingredients.
Over time, this particular one was abandoned in favor the newer, less delicate planes - with different universes as cornerstones - with have higher quality whatever ingredient is needed. The more powerful magic users move out. The remaining magic users 1. don’t know it’s possible to cross dimensions 2. do not have the power to 3. new magic users are brought in after the new planes were created and are sent there instead, completely skipping over introducing our central plane. At any rate, the number of magic users dwindles and at this point in time, only a handful of magic users remember it exists.
(Frick, why does Tumblr keep deleting paragraphs when I just want to delete a sentence. I have to retype all of that and I lost my train of thought. This is the fourth time already.)
By the time the story begins, the ones who know about it are the Al Ghuls, Frigga, the Loki that was born in this Marvel-verse who was introduced to it by his mother for his magic lessons, and anyone who stumbles across the random portals that have begun to appear because the Marvel cornerstone has been slightly shifted out of place by some cosmic event. (Marinette, who’d probably about 8 - 10 years old at this point in time.)
That shift caused the Marvel-verse to start pulling away, which in turn makes the other two cornerstones pull together in an attempt to maintain equilibrium.
Before we go further into that, a quick crash course in magical numerology. The first nine numbers are sacred, each one with a meaning attached to it. The ones we’re interested in for this story are 1, 2, and 3. 1 means unity. 2 means disorder. 3 means harmony.
I apologize for not being able to fully articulate this part but it makes sense in my head and I will do my best to make sense to everyone reading this.
As long as there are 3 cornerstones, the central plane will be stable due to the harmony factor. Problem is, as DC and MLB universes get closer, they begin to merge, made easier by the fact they’ve been bound together for so long. This makes the numbers drop from 3 to a fluctuation between 1 and 2.
Magic begins to separate them as 2+1= 3 rather than a full trinity of 1+1+1=3. Marvel-verse is totally fine (for now) but DCxMLB universes are experiencing some trippy things, news begins to filter between the worlds, abnormal weather patterns, memories merging and many more “ghostly interaction” experiences. For the most part, people can just dismiss it but the magically and spiritually inclined are having the worst time of their lives, especially those with foresight abilities.
The two universes haven’t really merged yet, probably won’t for another 5 years or so, but it’s close enough to be an inevitable event and that causes it to the math to go from 2+1=3 to 1+1=2, which as I have mentioned, destabilizes the central plane. It still exists, but it is now an EXTRA chaotic place, most of the sentient magical flora and fauna are going crazy and the guardian cards are in full panic mode which does affect a whole lot of things. The central plane eventually crumbles and anything inside it at the time vanishes into the in-between of universes, most likely never to be seen again. (Either they die from lack of anything they need to survive, miraculously find their way onto another plane, or descend into the literal hell that is where the most cursed and hated creations ever to exist were thrown into where they must adapt or die, probably die. Unless they have knowledge of the old way of moving between universes, in which case they’d be fine once they’ve re-oriented themselves.)
I hadn’t decided if Marvel-verse will detach completely and accelerate the merger between Maribat verse or if it rebounds and forces another merger which would also accelerate the merger in a different direction. I’d also like to mention that since Earth is where the worlds are linked, that is the place that is most affected, other parts of the universe are like “hey, budge over and make some room for me.“ because before that, it was probably just a void there and only the parts where there is some.
If this isn’t fully coherent, that’s because I was in the middle of world building before angst and crack took over and I had to scrap the idea.

Fic Writer Review
PShout out to @takaraphoenix for tagging me
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
617!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
2,579,998 :O
3. How many fandoms have you written for?
Holy shit 116! [There would be more but I clumped all the Marvel, X-Men, DC, Trek’s and Wars together]
4. Top 5 fics by kudos? - Hits is a totally different line up in comparison.
Silent Guardians - Naruto Time Travel Cliche Fic - 3,563
Protection: The Three Phase Plan - Harry Potter Fix It Cliche Fic - 3,154
Protection: The Hogwarts Plan - Harry Potter Fix It Cliche Fic - 2,488
Observations - Batman - Batboy bonding - 2,420
Protection: The Final Plan - Harry Potter Fix It Cliche Fic - 2,016
5. Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?
Sometimes I do, mainly if they have a question. Otherwise I just leave them and if it’s very nice I beam for the rest of the day.
6. A fic you've written with the angstiest ending.
I don’t write a lot of angst but the one with the angstiest ending I have written is a Man From U.N.C.L.E fic called Unrequited Love
7. Do you write cross overs?
It’s usually DC and Marvel because that’s easy to do. Other times I do crossovers if the same actor is in a different series so I can mix them around like my Flash/Glee and such.
8. Ever received hate on a fic?
Of course I have, are you really a fanfic writer if you haven’t? Especially if you write 18+ fic’s or if you mash a bunch of cliches into fic’s. I honestly hold the first one I got close to my heart because that’s how I knew I made it. It was on Fanfiction.net by a guest reviewer to tell me to burn in hell - which was pretty simple for hate looking back lol
9. Do you write smut?
Without question, that is like 90% of my fic’s
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
WATTPAD CAN FUCK OFF!
The lamest excuse that someone gave me for stealing my fic was that they didn’t think I was writing anymore. Never mind that I literally uploaded a new story a few weeks before.
11. Ever had a fic translated?
Oh yeah, I only agree if I’ve been asked permission and if they properly link all the credit to me and my original fic so the readers know that this story is mine, not the other persons.
12. Have you ever co written a fic?
Nope! I bounce idea’s off of other people, but I find writing with someone else is a hassle and messes up my creative process.
13. All time Fav ship.
I don’t have one haha, I have OTP’s per fandoms for sure but no all time fave ship!
14. WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
Honestly at this rate my 101 Ironstrange Fic may never be finished, I will do my best to do so but who knows *Shrugs*
15. Writing strengths?
When I get in a groove, I can bang out numerous one shots or chapters in a row.
16. Writing weakness?
If I don’t have a muse then I don’t write for weeks on end. Not to mention summaries and titles, they are the worst.
17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I’m okay with it, if I do it then I make sure to have the translation right next to it. I tend to just use titles that are canon in the show or pet names.
18. First Fandom you wrote for?
Oh God, I don’t remember, I used to write things on Quizilla when it allowed stories. Let’s see maybe Naruto or MAR?
19. What's your fav fic you've written so far?
Now that is a hard question, I think maybe... Observations - Batman?
I tag @stellecraft

I Am Yours
Pairing: Steve Rogers x reader (as Wonder Woman)
Summary: With the collapse of S.H.E.I.L.D, you and fiance Steve Rogers stay hidden in the shadows while indiscretions come to light between the two of you.
warnings: mentions of sex, swearing, heartbreak
word count: 1.3K
a/n: Hi everyone! I wrote this Marvel and DC crossover mini-series about 4 years ago. I have since started writing for other fandoms on separate blogs and have found myself stumped with writer’s block.. so I thought it would be nice to revisit and remaster the ‘I Am Yours’ series to reignite my passion for writing. I hope to write more for the Marvel fandom! This series will initially be inspired by Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Enjoy!!!
Tumblr media
A mild ache radiates down your spine to your legs which has you wincing for the first time in what feels like a lifetime. Though, it doesn’t matter how much discomfort you find yourself in, you worry about the man a few feet away. You sit and ponder how this once scrawny and sickly man of the early 20th century had found himself all these decades later carrying the weight of this country on his shoulders-- and manage to still look good while doing it.
“You good?” His voice soft fills the small room on the cabin,
Steve Rogers is covered in dirt and grime as well as a multitude of cuts and gashes. His blue eyes sink into your brown ones. The same ones you lost yourself in 24 hours ago when the thought of tomorrow didn’t carry destruction and loss. His wife beater hugs him a little too tight and his blonde hair sits unruly on top of his head. You harshly inhale some air as your lips form a tight smile with a small nod of your head.
This doesn’t seem to convince Steve at all as he turns off the faucet of the bathroom sink. He takes a look in the mirror for a brief moment before appearing in front of you to which you are now faced with his torso as you are sat at the foot of the bed. You peer up and in any other situation, the outcome would be entirely different but you look away as quickly as you had looked up at him.
You wring your hands together, “I’m doing just fine, and yourself?’
“Not particularly concerned about myself, moreso you. You were quiet the entire ride here, all 3 hours.” You give him a tiny smile to which he returns to you. It’s not that Steve didn’t believe you weren’t okay, you are the incredulous Wonder Woman. The world knows who you are and what you are capable of. At least that’s what they think. You put up a mighty good front. “What’s going on up there?
His finger taps the side of your head, you keep your eyes trained anywhere but him. But when it comes to Steve, you can get weak. With everything that has unraveled in the last 48 hours with the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D, you find your ability to persevere a bit vulnerable. “I don’t think it’s the right time to get into it. We have bigger things to be concerned about, hm?”
With that, you stand and head into the vacant bathroom. The reflection in the mirror is a mess: misplaced hairs, make-up smudged, and small bruises scattered on your skin. You mother did always tell that your physical beauty can be a reflection of who you are on the outside. And this defeat that you see is not of a physical damage but an emotional one.
“Y/N, tell me what’s on your mind. How can we be for the people if we can’t be for ourselves? Hm? You’re the one who taught me that, so what’s bothering you?” Steve’s voice fills the quiet. And you aren’t sure if it is worth the impending doom that will indefinitely follow.
Your turn your head enough to take a look at him, his eyes pleading for you to confess. “You ever feel like you’re doing good at what you thought you could never be good at? You feel like you can do anything once you do something you didn’t think you could…” You smile, turning your attention back to your reflection, the smile slowly beginning to falter, “Then you take a step back and truly look. At everything and you realize that you really aren’t that good.. That you aren’t what the people make you to be.”
“If this is about what happened with Bucky on the--” Steve begins but you hold a hand up to halt him. He puts his hands up in defense and crosses his arms over his chest to allow you to continue.
“I used to think I was… worthy as our friend of Asgard would always remind me. I used to think I was worthy to the people, to this country, to this world.. To you.” This piqued Steve’s interest even more so. He looks at you with his eyebrows furrow at the mention of him. But he doesn’t interject. “ But I took a step back and I looked at the bigger picture. I could see from your point of view that I’m not the best girl.”
Steve’s mind had been fishing for what you could mean by not being worthy to him. But when the words best girl are said by you, he doesn’t need to ponder any longer, Peggy. His mind goes back to the conversation he had with his once lover a couple of days ago. Meanwhile, you watch the wheels turn in his head. His face shows confusion but shortly contorts to discomfort and irritation, “You were there?”
A light chuckle escapes you and you purse your lips not meaning for it to come out.
“Do you see, Steve? Do you see why I feel like I haven’t been doing good at what I thought I was?” You turn to step towards him, he clenches his jaw and uncrosses his arms. “Because to you, it’s hearing what you said rather than the point here being exactly that: what you said. To her, to… the woman that is supposed to be in my place.”
Steve only experienced this kind of thing with Peggy once, right before she shot him out as he hid behind the prototype of the shield he carries today. He remembers how sh- he understands what you mean. Peggy still infiltrates his mind even after all this time.
You stand in front of him seeing the puzzle pieces click for him about what you had meant.
“I know it’s silly and childish. I know that is something a schoolgirl has a right to feel but I? One of a God's power.. How human feelings have impaled me. How such a petty one has consumed me? That I will never know. But I know that all I have been to you is honest. So I need you to be honest with me at this moment.” The silence that follows your voice is so eerie and haunting. Steve has no idea what is to come next from you, so he interjects and gives you a brooding look.
He opens his mouth and closes his eyes for a brief second before saying,” You want to know where I stand with my thoughts for Peggy. You think that after all these years that I still possess these- these feelings, right?”
The venom in his voice is as if you had approached him with an accusatory tone. A bright and shining sign of guilt.
“It’s okay.” The warm, salty liquid spills over and cascades down your cheeks. You were unaware that your eyes had started to cry. Your right hand reaches over to your left, automatically feeling for the cool metal that rests on your 4th finger. With a little hesitation, you wiggle it off, “Y/N, stop. What are you doing?”
You reach down and grasp his hand, bringing it  between the two of you, his hand remains a closed fist but he allows you to pry it open as you set the single diamond ring in it.
“Steve, it hasn’t been all this time. For her, yes. But for you? It hasn’t. Life had paused and resumed when you woke 2 years ago. You never had all this time like people believe you have. And… it’s not fair. Not to me but most importantly not to you. So I cannot wear this right now.”
With that being said, you step back and gather your shield and backpack. You take another look towards the man that had captivated you those couple of years ago and step out into the unknown night.

What got you into dc and timsteph?
Oh I answered this sort of a couple of months ago here but the answer for DC is being a nosy child 20 years ago and reading my brothers comics, specifically the JLA/Titans Crossover from the late 90s by Devin Grayson and Phil Jimenez. I watched the 2003 Titans cartoon. I've always preferred DC over Marvel. My brother later got me bits of Geoff Johns Titans run and the crossover with Outsiders from the mid 2000s. When the trailer for BvS came out I got more genuinely involved, and I also started watching things like the Arkham Knight game cutscenes. I read a bunch of exposition on comic vine and TV tropes then decided to start buying comics for realsies myself. And then I fell in a pit and wrote my MSc in Information Management and Preservation dissertation on comic book preservation and collection like a normal person does. I got an A for it woo.
For TimSteph I genuinely can't remember any more. Likely to be a more passive 'oh that's a neat pairing' which got stronger when I was doing my initial catching up reading in 2015. Red Robin, Batgirl, Convergence, Robin then Rebirth kicked in and here we are... For better or worse. Going back to the earliest pages in my DC tag does not provide answers 😂.
Essentially though I should note its Dick Grayson and his gen of Titans who own my actual soul it's always for him and them that I read or seek things out. Light of my frickin life and all that.
