okay see the thing with school is like, yes I know there are so many people around the globe that dont have the option to go to school. I understand and acknowledge that. MY problem is the fact that (at least in the US) its required by the government and law and if you dont attend school your parents could get arrested AND your attendence pays the school.
like why can it just be optional? I get it, your education is important, it is! But there are soooo many better ways to educate than whatever is going on right now in public schools.
And school just doest work for some kids! for some people, it just doesnt work and it never will.
so yeah as soon as you change some things up then maybe ill rethink my opinions on .... s c h o o l

This probably sounds exaggerated or cartoony, but to those in other countries, yes. I do think about the possibility of a school shooting constantly. I’m in my senior year of Highschool in America and lately I’ve noticed just how constant a fear it is. I’ll be sitting in class, bored by the lecture, looking at the closet when I think I wonder how many students could fit in it to hide. I look around the whole classroom and think where would I be the safest. I’ll be walking down the halls to grab something I left in my last class and I’ll think man, I’m all alone out here right now. If there were a shooter, I would immediately be killed. I look for nearby classrooms and try to walk closer to the walls. An announcement comes on for any reason, literally ANYTHING, and for a split second I think I’m going to hear the hard lockdown announcement. Sometimes I think what my school days would be like afterwards, if I made it out of a shooting. All the people I know in my classes.. who would still be there? Would I walk into homeroom expecting to see Faith and she’s just gone? Having to stand there, taking in the idea that I’ll never see her again. All the people I see in the halls every now and then, or just share a class with, the people I wouldn’t be able to just text to see if they were ok, which ones would still be there? Would anyone tell me? Or would I just have to realize it’s been days since I saw their face? Would I walk on the ground they were killed on without ever realizing? I would see a dent in a locker and just think if I could’ve known the person who’s head left that mark.
And I know if that did happen, just like with the fear, it wouldn’t matter to the world. I’d just have to keep going to school like nothing’s wrong, like nothing ever happened. And the world keeps spinning.

i think its so funny that alumni from schools like harvard and columbia that were there during the protests in the 60s-80s are expressing support for students currently protesting against the genocide in palestine, and random zionists that were NOT at these protests in the 60s-80s have the never ending audacity to tell these alumni "well thats different, what you protested was good and what they're protesting is bad." as if protesters against the vietnam war and apartheid south africa were not also demonized, arrested, brutalized, and even killed for their activism. history only remembers them fondly after the damage has already been done.

you motherfuckers have no concept of what "land back" or "decolonize" even mean. you're too busy demonizing entire groups of people, terrified, shitting yourselves, that they'll do even half of the horrors to you that you've done to them for decades or centuries. this shit comes off as hella racist for real. you hate arabs so much. you hate first nations people so much. you hate black people so much. even if you sympathize with them, you can't fucking bear the idea of them gaining freedom, independence, autonomy, safety, because you're so, so scared they'll hurt you back and cause chaos in the streets. these same people who just want to rebuild. who just want to go home. who just want to see their families again. who just want food. who just want medical care. who just want dry, warm shelter. you're so focused on the ideas of colonization, of "us vs. them", of one people displacing the other for a state to exist, that you cannot comprehend coexistence, and your only idea of peace is if an entire group of people were just gone and dead.
grow the fuck up. for the love of GOD, grow the fuck up.

This is at AUB (Arts University Bournemouth). Hold your educational institutions accountable for funding and platforming programs that support genocide. Boycott Stratasys. Flood their emails telling them to take accountability. Take action.
It is an unfortunate trend for colleges to silence the voices of their Pro Palestinian student body. We've seen it with Columbia University. Why aren't we holding these schools accountable?!?!

A teacher in Florida is being investigated by the state for ‘indoctrination’ after showing a Disney film which features a prominent gay character. The investigation comes after fifth grade teacher Jenna Barbee showed her class Disney’s 2022 animated movie Strange World as a “brain break”, following a morning of standardized testing. The film features Ethan, an openly gay character, and a romantic plot between Ethan and his crush, Diazo. On TikTok, the teacher said she chose to show the film because it fit in with the class’s curriculum, as they are currently learning about ecosystems. The LGBTQ+ element was not the reason she put the movie on, but described it as “harmless”. Barbee claims she was reported to the state by a school board member, who she says is on a “rampage” against any form of representation in schools and her daughter was in the classroom watching Strange World. A tweet by Barbee’s friend, Carl Zee, shows a letter from the Florida Department of Education which states the teacher is being investigated for “inappropriate conduct”. “If you have evidentiary witnesses or documents pertinent to the case, send them to this office no later than two weeks from receipt of this letter,” the letter states. “[The students] didn’t even know this was a big deal until the board member and the state made it a big deal. “They’re using it against me saying they’re ‘protecting the children’ and it’s for their safety. But what is this actually showing them?” Barbee questioned in the video. She said the investigation is more “traumatising” for the youngsters than the film was in the fist place. “But the minor representations, that have nothing to do with the movie, are such a big deal that now admin in is in their room, pulling their teacher out, calling the students one by one down to the office to interrogate them in the middle of my lessons,” she said. The teacher added that a number of her students had told her they are members of the LGBTQ+ community, prior to the film being shown.

"You can't move him up a grade!" The social worker said, aghast. "I won't deny that Danny is brilliant, but look at his social skills. He needs proper socialization with people his age, not-"
"People on the same level as him?" Tim asked. He was glaring at the woman.
"High schoolers," she finished, giving Tim a look.
Dick's hands were folded as if in prayer, pressed against his mouth. "I understand you point, Mrs. Gonzalez, but this is my reasoning; there is not an eighth grade class in this country that can handle Danny. He curses. He drinks. He smokes. I love that kid and I'm doing the best I can, but he's a feral goblin child and you, or any teacher, can't control him."
She looked like she swallowed a raw egg, but Mrs. Gonzalez had been Danny's social worker since the paperwork went through, and was a long time friend of the police chief in Bludhaven. She'd been there for the Toast Incident; she knew how Danny was. "...Why don't we consider a homeschool program first? With after school and weekend activities."
Dick flashed a smile. "That's better."
