summary: when someone destroys part of the new hotel, specifically aiming for charlie, the age old question of where will everyone sleep is asked. don’t worry, alastor and lucifer have a plan… surprisingly.
After the last extermination fight and the newly renovated hotel, sinners flocked to the hotel in droves. To the point that tonight, as you checked the last person in, there were no more rooms.
“That is going to be a problem as we get further along…” you murmur, reshuffling the paperwork you needed to file.
“What is a problem, my dear?” Alastor’s voice suddenly rang out near the checkin counter and you turned to look at him, not reacting to his sudden appearance as he had done this so many times, you were used to it. You looked at him seeing him dressed down, jacket gone, for the night and blushed, quickly turning away, busying yourself with fixing the paperwork.
“We’re all out of rooms tonight Alastor. It’ll be an issue because eventually we may need to expand the hotel to fit everyone.” You explained.
“Hmmmm…” Alastor glanced over to Lucifer who was fixing a drape for some reason as you turned back to Alastor. “That will be his problem then.” He smiled at you and you gave him a thumbs up, stashing the paperwork in the right drawer and locking it up. You handed the keys to Alastor and walked around the counter and sighed.
“I am so excited to-“ You were suddenly cut off as Charlie came running down the stairs, calling your name and crying a bunch of “I’m so sorry!” with it. She collided against you and hugged you and you hugged her in return on instinct.
“Charlie, what’s up?” You ask, worried for her as she keeps apologizing.
“Charlie, come now. We can’t help if we don’t know what’s happened.” Alastor said, as gently as Alastor could. You look at Alastor and then at Lucifer who had joined you hearing his daughter wailing.
“I-They-Your room!” Charlie got out, still crying.
“Okay. What’s wrong with my room Char?” You ask gently, holding her shoulders concerned.
“It’s destroyed!” She cries, Vaggie now coming down the staircase out of breath.
“Yeah, half of the 30th floor is gone. Everyone’s okay, Fat Nuggets is safe too. But it’s gone.” Vaggie explained.
“Does that include-“ Alastor begins and stops when Vaggie nods her head.
“It includes your room too Alastor.” Vaggie said, looking at Alastor as annoyance shined across his face.
“Who did this?” Alastor ground out.
“It’s nothing I can’t fix!” Lucifer exclaimed and Charlie cried harder. You looked at Lucifer and smiled as a way to say ‘thank you’ for trying to fix whatever was happening, his eyes widening a bit and a blush staining his cheeks. Vaggie looked and landed on you as the best person to talk to as Alastor was seething to your right.
“So, why can’t Lucifer fix the floor Vaggie?” You ask, consoling Charlie as Lucifer looked confused at what you said, opening his mouth to explain, he just said he could fix it.
“The type of… magic… that is up there… needs to dissipate before anyone can go near it again.” Vaggie explained. Lucifer and Alastor squinted at Vaggie, trying to understand.
“What happened?” You ask, more confused than anything.
“Someone left something for Charlie, a gift, and when she picked it up I heard ticking so I threw it-“ Vaggie started, Lucifer gasping and his hand now resting on Charlie’s head protectively.
“Into my room?” You ask.
“Yeah,” Vaggie nodded. “I knew you weren’t in there. I got everyone out of that side and when it went off, well, a very strong aphrodisiac, it’s pink so I’m going to take a guess there, was set loose. Everyone’s fine, no ones affected and everyone above the floor has been given guidance to keep their windows shut and to alert us if they feel any symptoms. But it took out part of the building and it’s lingering. We were able to contain it so it won’t seep into the hotel either.” Alastor’s face with a still ever present smile looked disgusted and displeased.
“That was intended to hurt you and Charlie then, you know that?” You ask, clutching Charlie tighter, looking at Lucifer whose face looked grim.
“I know. It means that they know what floor we’re on, and what room was ours.” Vaggie confirmed.
“We’ll need to make better schematics when we rebuild.” Alastor glanced at Lucifer, pointedly staring at him.
“Regardless, they knew what floor the staff was on too, it was to take all of us out. We’ll need to put protections in place.” You murmur as you guide Charlie to the couch. “We’ll have to deal with it in the morning though. Are there protections that can be put on the hotel and specifically staff?” You turn to ask Lucifer and Alastor. They both nod, saying yes at the same time and then eyeing eachother.
“Okay. Please, work together to put them in place.” Both nodded and went off discussing amongst themselves “Vaggie, do we have places for those displaced?” You ask, your hand absent mindedly petting Charlie’s head.
“Everyone except for Husk, Angel, myself, Charlie, Pentious and Nifty.” Vaggie explained.
“Myself and Alastor as well.” I add and Vaggie nods. Suddenly, both Alastor and Lucifer come back, and Alastor suggests, “Why don’t Husker, Angel, Charlie, Pentious and Nifty as well as yourself, Vaggie, sleep in the common area here. We can create it as a room for now until we can access the damage tomorrow.”
“What about our rooms and sleeping places, Alastor?” You ask, looking at him like he’d gone off his rocker.
“Oh, you can come sleep in my quarters!” Lucifer pipes up, smiling. No one else seems to feel that Alastor or Lucifer’s sudden agreement on this was strange. You don’t have time to think about it though as the crew comes down and Vaggie explains the proposition. There are cheers of “movie night” and running to grab snacks.
You look down to see Charlie gone and look up to see her and Lucifer talking. You sigh, feeling the day suddenly catch up to you, when you feel Alastor murmur to you, “Why don’t you go upstairs?” You look to him confused.
“Go on little doe, we’ll get everyone situated down here. You’re off duty now.” Alastor says pushing you toward the other staircase. You sigh, thinking Alastor is acting weird and wave as those in the common area yell good night, seemingly taking this turn of events well. You walk up the stairs, and feel exhausted from the day. Your mind wondering to who could have placed something like that up there.
You hesitate outside of the door to Lucifer’s quarters, you know that he said y’all would be sleeping there but it still felt odd. You sighed and walked in, admiring how expansive it was before seeing a very comfy looking couch across from the bed. You snickered to yourself, knowing you’d be falling asleep in a matter of minutes and then Alastor and Lucifer would have to share a bed.
“What’s better than a get along shirt? A get along bed.” You chuckle as you collapse onto the couch and are swept off into a dreamless sleep.
———•———•———
You slowly awake to arguing and whispers. You open your eyes to two pairs of eyes staring down at you. You yelp and then fall off the couch, landing on top of Lucifer. His cheeks aflame as he stared at you. You realize that your top is in his hands and there’s a new top in Alastor’s hands. Both of them are in pajamas, and staring at you wide eyed.
“Why am I undressed?” You ask confused.
“Well, you see… you looked uncomfortable and so we wanted to make you more comfortable and so we just grabbed new clothes for you and were going-“ Lucifer started rambling before Alastor cut him off.
“We wanted to ensure your comfort dear, so we were going to change you. We weren’t looking at anything, gentleman’s promise.” Alastor said, softer than he normally spoke. You, awake enough now, looked at both of them. The air in the room was tense and they both looked partially guilty, and while also anxious.
“I don’t care if you were looking, jeez.” Their eyes widen at that. “I don’t know why you’re being both, so weird.” You say, leaning over and grabbing the shirt from Alastor and then coming back to where you were sitting putting it on. You move around a bit and shimmy to get the shirt that is huge on you actually situated when suddenly Lucifer’s hands go to your hips digging in and stop you moving. His breaths were heavy and his eyes lidded.
“Please-“ he breathed. “Stop moving.” You looked down and realized you were straddling him as you yelped in shock and shot yourself over to Alastor, Lucifer whining at the loss of contact, as you accidentally land between Alastor’s legs, your upper back right against him. He grunts and you look up at him, his cheeks aflame a gorgeous red and you realize what you’ve done again, so you leap away from both of them sitting on the floor near the edge of the couch.
“I am so so sorry. I am so sorry.” You’re muttering and hold your head in your hands. You’re quiet and can’t even look at them, the pajama shirt they were handing you askew and your work pants still on. Suddenly, you feel a cool hand on your cheek, guiding you to look up. You see Lucifer who had crawled over to comfort you and Alastor still on the couch, blush evident on his cheeks.
“If you wanted us so badly, you don’t have to throw yourself at us.” Lucifer chuckled, seeing you curl further into yourself muttering apologies. “You’re so smart you know that?” Lucifer murmured. His hand resting on your cheek now, thumb rubbing against your cheek bone, drawing your face to look at him. “You knew our little plan down there… You knew something wasn’t right.” he explains and your eyes widen.
“Your little plan… ‘our’ little plan… You worked together?” You ask incredulously. Lucifer and Alastor exchange a glance and then both chuckle.
“That is what she would be worried about, hmmm.” Alastor said, looking at you both.
“I don’t understand. Did you place something to ruin the hotel?” You say looking at them both like they are crazy.
“No!” Alastor exclaimed.
“No, no. Our plan after that happened, of sharing a room with you so we could talk. We wanted to do this in a different fashion but, you seem to have caught both our eyes, my duckling.” Lucifer explained and your eyes went wide.
“You both…” You trailed off not finishing the thought. “Seriously? You’re doing this right now?” You ask both of them. They both nod and you blanch.
“Strike while the iron’s hot and all that.” Alastor quips. You look at both of them, your heart feeling like it would burst and then your stomach drops coming to a realization they may want you to choose between them.
“I’m not choosing between either of you, nor will I allow this to be a competition. I value our friendships far too much for that, so if this is what this is, I’ll be going down with the others.” You say as you try and get up. Lucifer stops you though as Alastor gently places his hand on your shoulder, stopping you and explains, “You misunderstand us dear. We don’t want you to choose. We talked about it and we would both like to date you… simultaneously.” Alastor explained. Lucifer nods as they both watch your expression. You blink a few times, your mind not processing.
“Why me? I’m just… me. I’m a sinner. I’m not even an overlord. No one important.” You murmur, not looking at them again. There’s a sigh and Alastor lifts your face.
“You’re important to me, chère.” He whispers, almost like if he didn’t say it out loud then no one else could hear the weakness he was admitting to.
“You’re very important to me.” Lucifer says, guiding you to look at him as you realize that both Alastor and Lucifer’s fingers were interlocked on your chin and your heart fluttered. “You helped me see the light, when all I saw was a dark cage. You and Charlie did that.” He explains, his eyes brilliant in conviction and leans down and kisses the corner of your mouth. You gasp as his eyes widen and he looks a bit sheepish while Alastor stared accusingly at Lucifer.
“And Al, you’re okay with this?” You ask. “I don’t want anything to make you-either of you really, but I think Lucifer would be more open to all of this in this situation- but I don’t want to make you uncomfortable. Or this make you uncomfortable. Or anything. And honestly, I’d rather go downstairs and pretend this didn’t happen, if you both were uncomfortable because again I value your friendship and you both mean a lot to me-“ You ramble on until Alastor puts his hand over your mouth, stopping your words, your cheeks blazing at the proximity.
“If I wasn’t comfortable, I wouldn’t be here right now.” Alastor asks, finally sitting on the floor with both you and Lucifer, Alastor kneeling in front of you and bending down a bit.
“Are you comfortable with this idea though?” Lucifer asked, his hand trailing to yours. “You’ve spoke about our comfort-which I am okay with all of this, surprisingly…” Lucifer says eyeing Alastor. “But are you okay with this? All three of us being together?”
“Well, I mean, it’s kind of sudden, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t like you both. Quite honestly it left me desperately hopeless because I couldn’t just choose either of you. That’s been going on for like at least six months though.” Both pairs of eyes widen looking at you. “But what about this?” You ask motioning between them. “I have to be honest when this is probably the most surprising revelation of the whole evening.”
“You know what they say, hate makes the heart grow fond.” Alastor smiles sarcastically at Lucifer.
“That’s not-never mind…” Lucifer looks at you. “We realized about a month ago that we respected eachother more than what we had let on, and in that conversation we both revealed to each other that we cared for you.. amongst other things.” Lucifer explained, looking at Alastor, a red tinge on his cheeks and started getting up, you looked at him confused, but he offered both you and Alastor a hand. Both you and Alastor grabbed Lucifer’s hands and got up, as Lucifer continued talking. “Whiskey does wonders on getting people to talk. So, we then wanted to know if there was an opportunity that you reciprocated feelings for at least one of us.”
“Color us surprised when we realized you did, but for both of us.” Alastor added on as he followed the King of Hell to the bed.
“How did you know though?” You ask genuinely curious as you hopped on the bed, looking at both of them. “I tried to not show anything at all.”
“A certain spider spilled.” Alastor grinned.
“Angel.” You looked unimpressed.
“We then realized that we had a unique opportunity.” Alastor explained.
“So, we decided that if we didn’t have to make you choose and could-“ Lucifer started.
“Both court you, then it was the most ideal outcome. Especially considering if this became public…” Alastor trailed off, his grin becoming strained.
“If this became public you would be target number one for a lot of people who wish to harm me or Alastor. Heaven and the Vees included. And Charlie is currently one of those targets as well.” Lucifer expanded on the point already made. “So what better than to have two of the arguably most powerful men at your service?” Lucifer exclaimed at the end. Alastor eyed his theatrics and rolled his eyes.
“Well, I mean that’s hot.” You say unthinkingly and then feel your face turn warm as you look up at both Alastor and Lucifer who are wide eyed. “I mean- uh…” You clear your throat. “That’s very very logical.”
Alastor laughs and leans over, invading your personal space. “If you think that’s… as you said, hot, we can show you something more.” His grin widens, mischievous. You hear a groan across from you and see Lucifer, blushing.
“That was hot.” He says and you can’t help but laugh. Which turns into a yawn.
“Come, let us sleep, we can talk more about this in the morning.” Alastor explains drawing you up to the pillows and laying on your right side.
“Hey! I normally lay on the right side of the bed!” Lucifer exclaims. “You KNOW that.” He looks actually upset as Alastor just switches the pillows.
“Right as rain then?” Alastor says sweetly, looking at Lucifer. You feel Alastor’s arm gently being placed on your waist. “Is this all right darling?” You nod and look at Lucifer. You open your arms for him and he smiles, cuddling up and facing you.
“Can we sleep like this every night?” You ask, half asleep, but feeling so comfortable.
“Of course dear.” Alastor murmurs.
“Every single night.” Lucifer confirms. You feel Lucifer’s hand reach around you and feel it move like he was petting something. You understood quickly as Alastor growled. He had pet Alastor.
“Don’t pet me, you under grown circus clown.” Alastor threatens as he stiffens against you, feeling and hearing Lucifer chuckling.
“Both of you behave.” You murmur, close to the sweet embrace of sleep, still half wondering how everything fit together so quickly, but you had once heard that when it’s right everything just comes together perfectly.

I’m so sorry – I lost who requested this!

The thundering of hooves tore apart the dark night’s silence, and your hand instinctively moved to grip the shoulder of the small boy before you. He looked up. Slowly, not daring to breathe, you brought your finger to your lips. He nodded and inched a little closer to your skirts.
Wintancaester had been on edge since the very word that men of Northumbria had ridden through Mercia, terror left in their wake, and were descending on Wessex’ borders. The King had dispatched Uhtred and his band of warriors to investigate the oncoming horde, but that was weeks ago and no news had come. Nor had the men returned.
The ensuing days were those of dread, the nights full of visions. Bells rang from inside the castle gates at the merest approach of anyone on horseback, sending the city scattering into their dwellings. So why, this night, were the bells silent?
The lad at your knee tugged your skirt.
“Stay close,” you whispered, heart racing beneath your breast. The hooves were growing louder, so much that you felt the very ground beneath your feet tremble. As the racket neared, the little boy held your legs tighter. It was not until they had passed, their canter quietening, that he let go.
“Come,” you edged to the door of your home, beckoning the child. You opened the wooden it a crack. You could not see the men. Across the way, a few people were peering from their homes, the boy’s mother included. “Straight to your mother now. Run and don’t look back. Go!”
He ran as quickly as his little legs could take him and you shut the door as swiftly and silently as possible. Hand at your chest, you listened. If they caught him, surely you would hear. You tried not to imagine his poor cries as they wrenched him away. The face of his mother when she confronted you. Why didn’t you keep him safe? And still the bells didn’t ring. What if the northmen had already taken the castle, unbeknownst to its subjects beyond its walls?
Silence.
The horses' hooves were running no more. There were no cries from neighbouring dwellings. The bells didn’t ring. Perhaps it was just someone passing through. Maybe the poor soul on watch had fallen asleep. The hour was late after all.
You were just relaxing against the wood of the door, your heart rate slowly returning to normal as it pounded in your ears, when the door jolted.
BANG BANG BANG
Your body jumped with the movement of it. A trap. A rouse of silence to trick unsuspecting victims. Tears pricked at your eyes as you held the door with your hands. If you were to die at the hand of some Northumbrian brute, then you would die fighting.
BANG BANG BANG
“Lady! It’s them!”
Whatever strength you mustered to fight the northmen left as quickly as it had arrived.
“They’re back! Come and see! Lady?”
“Caen?” You opened the door. There he was, small and jumping up and down. Behind him, a few paces off, his mother smiled at his antics, her hands on her hips. “What do you me-”
“Uhtred!” Without another word, and seemingly embarrassed at your slowness, he darted along the grassy path towards the stables. Four horses, three dark and one white, were drinking heavily from a trough. Their riders, each tall and strong like their mounts, worked to remove their saddles.
You watched as Caen bounded towards them. They had yet to spot him, small as he was, and instead each man chatted to another.
“Come,” it was Caen’s mother. “Quite the fright they gave us. At least we have visitors, and handsome ones at that, to settle our spirits.” Laughing, she took your arm in hers and led you towards the group.
“A fright indeed,” you muttered, your heart still beating its violent tattoo. Up ahead, Caen was nearing the band of men.
“Uhtred!” He cried and, when the man turned, the small boy all but flung himself into the warrior’s arms.
“My, my, look at you! You have grown taller and stronger since last I saw you. It won’t be long until can wield a sword yourself-”
“I’ll not have you encouraging him, Lord.” Caen’s mother said, her voice firm.
“Ma says that I will be just as able to help the kingdom with my learning. And she’s started teaching me about the plants!” Caen pointed at you.
“She!?” Caen shrunk at his mother’s words, correcting himself by using your name.
“You can never have too many healing hands,” the man beside Uhtred said. His head was bowed a little, eyes peering over the furs he wore to keep warm but even in the dark night, you could see the alertness of their blue. He watched you gently. Something about the small smile playing at the corners of his lips stirred your stomach.
“Osferth,” you said quietly.
“Lady,”
“Can never have too many healing hands indeed!” The burlier of Uhtred’s men winked and gave Osferth’s shoulder a shove.
“Finan,” you said, and he nodded with a smile. “I take it you aren’t in need of healing.”
“She says that when people make a fuss they don’t need so much help,” little Caen spoke up. “It’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for.”
Your eyes flicker to Osferth.
“Caen!”
“Sorry, Lady.” He eyed you a little but smiled cheekily all the same. Finan ruffled his hair and Caen giggled, swatting his hand away. In the lightness of the moment, you almost forgot that these men had been on the road for weeks and potentially battled their way home.
“Are you alright?” You addressed the gathered troupe, casting an eye over each of them. “Do you need anything? Sihtric?”
“Nothing ale and a good night can’t fix, thank you.”
When you first encountered the group, it was the Dane with the shorn hair and bicoloured glower that intimidated you most. A man of few words and calculated grace, something in his manner set you on edge. It increased tenfold when you saw him wield the sword, for the movements were violent, aggressive, quick as lightning.
It was not until he came to your small home, the flesh of his cheek split like ripe fruit and bleeding, that you discovered in truth the man was considerate and still. Almost gentle. Almost.
As you tended to his skin, he asked quiet questions about the plants hung from the rafters of your home, told you of the girl he intended to marry. Spoke with near reverence of Uhtred, told tall tales of Finan and fretted over Osferth. In the years you had known the men, it was Sihtric Kjartansson who scared you the least.
Now, it was the young man between he and Uhtred that sent your heart hammering. He, with his hard face and gentle soul.
Your fear was in the knowing glances he gave to his friends, and to you, as if he knew your thoughts before they even entered your mind. It was the stillness that he invoked upon the air whenever he neared you. It was in the simmering heat that built within you each time he returned bolder, stronger, braver. It was the way he was looking at you in that moment, as though seeing you for the first time and coming home.
“Osferth?” Your voice was hoarse and you coughed. “Are you well? Do you need anything?”
Before he could speak, Sihtric cut in. “He took a blow to the back, Lady-” He reached out to show you where but Osferth brushed him away.
“’Tis nothing, only a bruise,”
“I should still like to see it,” you said quickly.
“And I can help!” Caen piped up and you smiled down at your little apprentice.
“After, perhaps.” Osferth said. “But first, would you take a look at this old thing?” He patted the flank of his mottled horse. “She took a sword to her leg. It was only a scuffle!” He added upon seeing your worried face.
“Caen, fetch the bute you collected, and a pitcher of water.” The little boy ran away at your instruction. You turned to the group at large. “You are certain I cannot help with anything else?”
“Nothing,” Uhtred said. “Other than direct us to an alehouse. One who has boarding at this hour”
“Bron will have rooms,” you pointed down the way. “And he’ll be glad to welcome you.”
The men gathered their meagre belongings and, leaving their steeds at the stable, began their tired way towards the alehouse. Osferth remained at your side, following you towards your home. Unbeknownst to the both of you, Sihtric watched your progress with a small smile, distracted only when Finan clapped him on the back and dragged him away.
Seeing it was not the northmen but Uhtred and his men, many of the townsfolk had returned to their sleepy dwellings, and the night was quiet as it had once been.
“You have been to see the King, then? They did not ring the bells when you arrived.” You asked Osferth. He walked beside you, hands clasped firmly behind his back and head bowed. You wondered for a moment if he had picked up this behaviour at the monastery, or if it were his natural proclivity for pensiveness.
“Yes. Well,” he kicked a stone from the path. “Uhtred did.”
You said no more. It had no doubt been a long and tiresome journey, Osferth surely would not want to talk of the father that didn’t acknowledge his very existence.
“Was it terrible?” You asked, pushing open the wooden door to see Caen already setting cloth and water on the table. You winked at him. “Good lad.”
“The reverse,” Osferth smiled. “By the time we arrived in Mercia, the Angles had reached the northmen first.” Caen gasped and begged Osferth tell him more. “You could not see the ground for bodies, and-” Osferth looked at you, arms folded across your chest and eyebrows raised. “-and, that was it, really.” He finished weakly.
Caen glanced between you as silence fell. “Pop your clothes off, if you please.”
“Caen,” your voice was warning.
“If you would, Lord, remove your upper layers and sit on the table.” Caen said.
“Better,” you mouthed.
Plucking comfrey and ribwort from the plants drying around your home, you took your pestle and mortar in hand and worked them into a poultice. You daredn’t look at Osferth as he undressed, and shame began to work away at you fear of him. It is just Osferth. When he spoke, however, it was impossible not to turn, for his voice caused you to jump from your thoughts and face him.
“My horse-”
“Caen will see to her,” you placed the mortar on the table, looking anywhere but his naked torso. “He has been harvesting bute today and could do with the practice.”
“I’ll look after her, Lord.”
“Osferth,” the monk corrected.
“I’ll look after her, Lord Osferth.” Caen grabbed the bute, a small bowl and a cup of water, and dashed into the night. He returned not a minute later. “Forgot the cloth.”
Osferth chuckled as you returned to mixing the poultice. “He is a fine little apprentice.”
“Yes,” you added a dash of water to the mixture. “I just hope he isn’t distracted by the sword.”
“As I was?”
Your head snapped up and there was no going back. He was looking at you, blue eyes sad, pale skin glowing in the light of the fire. “That’s different.”
Osferth hummed, and the silence resumed. Firewood and sage crackled in the hearth, and beyond your home a tawny owl called.
“Where did Sihtric say you were struck?”
“My shoulder,” Osferth tried to indicate but winced as he moved.
“Rest,” you placed a hand on his and pushed his arm away. “Let me.” Moving to stand behind him, you saw the plum bruise that spread across his shoulder blade. It was already mottled and blackening, a few days old at least. Tentatively, you reached out to touch it. Beneath your fingers his skin was warm, similar to those first spring rays of sunlight on the face. You blushed. Beneath your touch, Osferth stiffened.
He had been coming to you for years. When his ribs were bruised and cracked during his first proper skirmish. When he had broken his arm escaping from the sea. After his first few kills he came to for a remedy for night visions, his mind rattled by the sound of tearing flesh. Sometimes, he found excuses to end up at your door. Stiff necks, headaches, insomnia. Those nights were his favourite. You made him dandelion tea and offered your bed. There, as you hummed a slow tune, he would drift into a sleep full of flora and delicate touches.
“It’ll be cool, the mixture, but not cold,” you said. “The bruise is already healing well, but this will reduce the swelling and some of the pain.”
“Thank you, Lady.” He whispered.
Placing a hand on his shoulder to steady yourself, you gently began rubbing the poultice into his skin. Osferth hissed.
“I’m sorry,” you said.
Osferth shook his head. “Is it tender, that is all.”
“I can see the outline of the pommel where it hit you,”
“What a shame it didn’t bleed, would have made a handsome scar-” You saw his cheeks rise into a smile.
“Trying to be more like Finan?” Your hand moved from his shoulder blade to the valley of his spine.
“I haven’t the volume.” This made you laugh and, at hearing the bright noise, Osferth joined in, for a moment only before doubling over.
“Try not to laugh,” you said through your giggles.
On and on you rubbed the poultice into his skin until the merest slither was left in the mortar. Osferth fell into a contented silence as you worked, your mind caught far away and, simultaneously, in the intimacy of the moment.
You watched, mesmerised, as your medicine highlighted the curves and contours of his back. Even when Osferth first joined Uhtred, he was tall. But then he began to train with the others, surviving on meagre rations and growing from boy to man. His broad shoulders and lean muscle were evidence of that. Drifting from the bruise, your fingers brushed over his upper back, the broad expanse of it now golden in the firelight.
His frame was exciting to you, yes. But what you hadn’t expected, or hadn’t anticipated would stir the fire still alite in your belly, were the freckles speckling his back. The outline of his ribs as he breathed, or the base of his spine ridging his lower back. They were the evidence that he was human. Living, breathing, warm flesh and bone right there beneath your fingers. Not just some imagined being you dreamt up during the long days and nights that he was gone.
Your fingers had left the bruise fully now but you didn’t worry. Osferth couldn’t see, and you let them wander under the guise of treating his wound. When they met the juncture of his neck and shoulder, you paused before laying your hand flat against the plain of skin. The action must have been soothing, for no sooner had your hand settled there was Osferth tipping his head forward, exposing more of his strong neck to you. You squeezed the muscle and he groaned. The sound sent blood rushing from your ears to the meeting of your thighs and you squeezed your legs together.
Breathe.
With a sharp inhale and slow exhale, you relaxed your body, hands straightening on Osferth’s shoulder. Your fingers grazed the shorn hair at the back of his head and once more, Osferth sighed.
This time, though, it was not the sound of released tension. Of a knot begin worked from deep within a muscle or the stretch of the back after a long day’s work. This time, it was the sound of pleasure.
Slowly, tentatively, you curled your fingers, dragging your nails ever so lightly over his skin and running them down the length of his spine. Osferth shuddered beneath you, arching his back as you reached its base.
“Lady-” his voice was ragged. When he looked over his shoulder and whispered your name, you saw his blue irises eclipsed by black.
“Osferth-”
The door banged open.
“Horse is fixed, Lord!” Caen shouted happily as you jumped back from the table.
“You don’t ‘fix a horse’, Caen.” You pinched the bridge of your nose. The heat that was rising to your cheeks burned.
“Thank you, Caen.” Osferth smiled at the boy and hopped gracefully from the table. He dressed quickly, tucking his cross into his tunic and collecting the remainder of his possessions; breastplate, leather gauntlets, sword and furs.
“Come,” Osferth steered Caen from the door. “Let us give the good lady some peace. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight,” you could barely speak the words as Osferth glanced at you with a solemn smile. When the door closed behind the him and your apprentice, you leant against the table, dipped the cloth in the pitcher of water and held it against your head. You looked to the ceiling.
“Thank you for sending him, Lord.” For what would have happened had Caen not burst through your door, you dared not imagine.
Tumblr media
You did not need to leave your home next morning to know the day was a happy one. Beyond the door people were yelling freely, someone was playing a pipe and you could hear children scurrying after one another.
Getting up, you stretched broadly and felt the sunlight through your small lookout window on your face. Wandering to add logs to the fire, you paused mid-step. There, on the table, was evidence that last night you almost disgraced your honour and dignity. Osferth’s honour and dignity. He was a warrior now, brave and noble, and would surely be a Lord like his leader one day. He would not throw himself at a common healer like you. No matter how much you wished it.
Once again, your musings were broken by the banging open of the door.
“What have I told you about knocking, little master!?”
“Well if you will leave it unbolted,” Caen waggled his finger at you. “Are we going hunting today, Lady?” ‘Hunting’ was what the young boy called foraging and, since he began his lessons with you, was fondest when in the field.
“Not today I’m afraid,” you said, wrapping a woollen shawl around your shoulders. “I am in need of arrowhead- do not interrupt, Caen. I’m sorry but the river is still too dangerous for you, and the plants are not so easily discernible. What would your mother say if I had you picking hemlock instead of water parsley?”
Caen hung his head in disappointment. Then, when a little boy ran past followed by a gaggle of even younger children, Caen called a hasty goodbye to you and ran after them. Stood in the doorway, you watched as they sprang down the grassy path. It truly was a happy day.
Dew glimmered in the long grass, little beadlets of iridescence sparkling in the spring light. Birds called gaily to each other from the treetops, much like their human counterparts on the ground below. Merriment seemed the order of the day. What wonders Uhtred and his men could perform by their appearance. The city seemed to sigh in relief.
After foraging, you planned to call at the alehouse. That was if you didn’t see the men in question about the town. Despite the previous night’s distractions, Osferth’s bruise truly was a nasty specimen and though it was healing, you believed his comfort greatly affected.
That was why you found yourself, an hour later and full of freshly baked bread, treading the damp earth along the banks of the river Icene in search of ingredients. It had been your mother who taught you the properties of the world around you, given you her stolen copy of the Lacnunga and taught you to read its pages.
The daughter of a nobleman, she was a fearsome and bright woman. Known for her learning and curiosity, she was beloved by all he knew her. Or so your father said. In the end, it was her curiosity that led to you. Foraging on the banks of that very river, she met a young fletcher gathering reeds for arrow tails. A month later, she married him. Cast out for loving a commoner, she took naught with her from her old life but for the clothes on her back, an embroidered sheet of damask and the stolen Lacnunga from the physic.
It was she who had taught you about the medicinal powers of the river plants, and of their terrifying toxins. Smiling as you meandered through the grass, thinking of your lost parents, and reciting the nine herb charm.
“Mugwyrt, una, wegrade, atterlothe, maethe, wergulu, apple, fille, finule. Mugwyrt, una-”
It was not those that you sought, but arrowhead. That bright, dart-shaped leaf which sprang from the water surrounded by delicate white leaves. Pressed in a sling against his shoulder or massaged in a poultice-you shook the thought from you head-it would surely aid Osferth’s discomfort.
There. Nestled amongst water-crowfoot and starwort, arrowhead leaves dazzled green in the murky water where the chalky river met the farmland of the city. There was just one problem. It was on the opposite bank.
There was nothing for it. Removing the wicker basket from your shoulder and setting it on the ground, you took off your worn boots and woollen socks, stowing them with the still warm bread you brought for your lunch. You looked left and right. No-one. Taking your skirts in hand, you tucked them into your leather belt and proceeded to a worn patch of scrub. An otter’s slipway.
A gravel bank rose at the centre of the river. Here, it was shallow and slow moving, but it was not the current you feared, but the cold. The sun shone in spring but the water retained its chilly bite. You would make for the gravel and assess the route to the arrowhead from there.
Slowly so as not to slip on the muddy ground, you stepped into the water.
“Fuck!”
Needles of cold shot through your legs as they entered the river and your toes curled instinctively under foot, seeking any warmth they could find. You stood there awhile, acclimatising to the water, or waiting until they were numb from the pain, you weren’t certain which.
Eventually you pushed out into the inky green water, letting it lap at your knees until you reached the gravel bank. From there you saw the arrowhead was just a few steps from reach. A great number of the leaves waved to you as their stems were bustled by the water and taking a deep breath, you stepped back into the water.
Your lungs tightened as, without warning, you sank waist-deep in the water. Well, that was a bother.
It didn’t take long for you to find your footing amongst the river weeds and, keeping your arms above the water, you waded forwards. A few stumbles here and there didn’t matter, your body was used to the cold by now and the arrowhead leaves were in your grasp.
For a few minutes you gently plucked the leaves from their stems, careful to leave some intact for the next harvest and the few little creatures you found living in the plant’s shelter.
With a handful foraged and a poesy of watercress for good measure, you turned back for the gravel bank. Your first step was clumsy as you slipped on some slimy stones underfoot and, as your chin hit the water, you jolted backwards. Just above the riverbed some long-grown pondweed had encircled your ankle in the current, tightening its grip with every kick of your foot to free yourself.
You tried not to panic, shoving the arrowhead and cress into your bodice. Your head was just above the water; you wouldn’t drown if you kept calm. But you would freeze. Over and over you fought to free your foot but the weed wouldn’t loosen. Your only remaining hope was to kick as hard as you could to uproot the plant or break its stem. With great effort, you flung your leg out as hard as you could. It didn’t work. You lost your footing once and for all, your head finally dipping beneath the river’s surface.
You came up spluttering and swallowing lung-fulls of water and air.
“Help,” you called out pathetically, your throat burning as you inhaled the river water. What was the use? You had come alone. Hadn’t you checked no-one was around before you entered the river? One foot trapped in pondweed and the other fighting for purchase, your body lolled at an awkward angle. The current of the water clapped in your ears, and when it rose to meet the side of your face, you found it wasn’t cold anymore. Letting your head float there, you found it a comfort and, like your rapidly numbing body, relaxed.
What a stupid way to die, you thought. The daughter of a renowned healer, and a healer in her own right, drowning while harvesting ingredients. In the spring, no less.
“Mugwyrt, una, wegrade, atterlothe, maethe, wergulu, apple, fille, finule. Remember, Mugwyrt, what you brought to pass, what you readied, at Regenmeld-”
When thoughts of your mother, of Caen and of Osferth faded, only the nine herb charm remained.
“Mugwyrt, una, wegrade, atterlothe, maet-” It was like drifting into sleep, resting in the river. Your words became mumbled, slow, your memory weak.
“Mugwyrt, una, wegrade- mugwyrt-”
The sinking was slow. First, you arms lolled behind you, the gentle river current moving your fingers as though they were combing through hair. Next, it was your chest, the cold water warming the barrel of your ribs. The strangest part was your ears. As your head began to sink, a great roaring rang in your ears as they broke the water. Just the flow of the river and your own breath could be heard under there. The water edged across your cheeks-
Your body burned as you were rent harshly from the water. Compared to the water, the day burned every inch of exposed flesh. Two hands, firm and strong, gripped your waist and dragged you backwards. Your back hit the hard ground and you moaned as weight returned to your body.
As though still trapped in the river, every sound was amplified. The birds in the trees above you, the wash of water against the riverbank, the man calling your name. Blinking in the harsh light, you looked up at him. His hand was at your face, his warm fingers near searing your sensitive skin.
“Osferth?” You said meekly. The man above you hung his head in relief. “Why are you here?” You smiled stupidly, reaching to grip his shoulder and check he was real.
“I came to your home,” he was out of breath and panicked, that was clear by his wide eyes and pinched brow. Even in your state you could see it. “-and Caen told me had gone to the river. You told him it was too dangerous for him to accompany you and yet you went alone? What were you thinking?”
“I needed arrowhead,” you touched the waist of your bodice where the plants lay. “For your bruise,”
Osferth was flabbergasted, and tt was he who spluttered next. “For my-for my-” He stared down at you. There you were, in his arms, soaked to the bone, hair in tendrils adorned with weed, gazing up at him so happily. Words failed him, and so he did the only left in his mind.
Raising you gently, he ducked his head and placed a tender kiss to your lips. You sighed. He was tender and soft and oh so warm. When he parted from you, a look of apprehensive pride on his face, you laughed quietly.
“I have imagined that so many nights, but it was never like this,”
“I could say exactly the same.” He laughed and held you closer. When you curled a hand into his tunic, he looked down at you and frowned.
“What?”
“Lady, your lips are blue.”

Notes: My first reader insert, please be nice.
The Lacnunga (which means remedy) is a real text, believed to have been written in the 10th century, and that is where the nigon wyrta galdor, or nine herb charm, comes from. Galdor means healing spell.
And obviously, don’t use plants when you don’t know what they do or how to use them. Common plants can be very hard to distinguish and yes, I did once mix up water parsley and hemlock…However! Ribwort Plantain is great for inflammation, rub the leaves on sore joints or bites and it works a treat, trust me!

Whumptober day 29- troubled past resurfacing
Ammon meets Wild! It goes fantastic! :D (it doesn’t)
Warnings: panic, near vomiting, implied character death, bad vibes all around :(
~~~~~~~~~~
Wild observed the world around him, it all looking unfamiliar to him. He wasn’t sure what had happened, he was with the other heroes fighting a puppet who attacked Hyrule, until the world disappeared around him, and he was thrown into a forest. He walked around, hoping to find the others, but there was no one there. At least it was a normal forest, with animals bouncing around and watching him cautiously as he stepped on leaves and twigs. When he finally left the forest and entered a field, he saw that this place wasn’t his Hyrule, but it did have a castle and villages scattered across it, so he was sure that he was in one of the other’s Hyrule. Which meant that they were here, they had to be. He started walking towards the nearest village, it looking like a ranch of sorts, until he got a strange sense of deja vu. He looked behind him and stared at trees, wondering why he was suddenly getting this feeling.
“Link!”
Wild spun around and was pulled into a tight hug. He was surprised at the sudden hug, and he wondered who could be embracing him like this without any warning. The person had short hair that was only slightly darker than his own, and he seemed to have a Sheikah prosthetic replacing his left arm. Wild didn’t dare reciprocate, he didn’t know anyone who looked like this. The person pulled back and Wild was able to see his face, and he felt his whole body go numb. Blue eyes that matched his own stared back at him, and a relieved smile was on his face.
“I finally found you, my boy! I was so worried when I heard about the puppeteer abducting you, I’ve been searching for you for ages now—“
Wild only stared in shock as the man continued to ramble. His face, his expressions, his scruffy beard around his mouth, it all felt so comforting and so… familiar. Soon, Wild’s whole world disappeared around him, his stomach flipped as the familiar feeling of remembering an old memory came in. Wild closed his eyes as the world around him was spinning, making him dizzy and nauseous, until it was finally over, and a feeling of dread rested within his stomach.
Link was running to a gatehouse, his grip around Zelda’s hand tightening, making sure that she didn’t fall behind. The monsters behind them were closing in and Link could hear their snarling and grunting as if they were right in front of him. He ignored the feeling of fear and picked up his pace, practically dragging poor Zelda across the cobblestone bridge. He saw soldiers opening up the gate and calling for them, and both the knight and the princess safely made it inside. He heard orders being given, and then he heard explosions. One of the cannons blew up the monsters pursuing him and Zelda, and the gate was closed.
The princess started gagging, trying to catch her breath from running so fast, and Link gently rubbed her back.
“I’m sorry Zelda,” he whispered, struggling to catch his breath as well. “I’m sorry.”
Zelda only gasped in response, doing everything in her power not to throw up. The soldiers around them got to their side, some comforting the princess, while the others huddled around Link, making sure he was alright.
“You’re safe here, for now,” one of the men reassured, looking out through the gate.
“Yes, for now. But if those guardians find out where we are—“
“Shush!”
The soldiers looked at Zelda who was now crying, and they grew silent for a bit.
“Our main priority is to protect the princess.”
Link turned around to see who said that, and he saw his father. He was disheveled, with his Royal guard outfit ripped all over. His hat was missing, and he had a deep cut on his cheek, but his blue eyes were soft when they looked at Link.
“F-father,” Link stammered, and his father knelt down at his side.
“Link, I’m so happy to see you’re alive.”
Link almost broke down sobbing right there, but he stopped himself. He was surrounded by soldiers who depended on him, he needed to keep his composure.
“S-s-sir Ammon,” Zelda choked out. She sat up, still shaking rather violently. “M-my father… is he…?”
Ammon’s eyes filled with deep sorrow, and he looked down.
“I’m sorry princess. The king… he’s… the king is dead.”
Zelda gasped, tears flooding her eyes. She bent over sobbing, curling up on herself while Link covered his mouth in horror. The king was dead, the castle was overrun, Ganon…. He won. Link buried his face in his hands. How could he have let this happen? He was the hero. He had the Master sword. They had all the champions, the divine beasts and the guardians, how could they…?
A horrific realization hit Link. Ganon took control of the guardians, so what about the divine beasts? Were the champions…. Were they alright?
Ammon’s hand rested on Link’s back, grounding him. Tears pricked at his eyes as the realization that everything was falling apart. His whole life, his home, his friends, how would they even survive this?
“Link, princess Zelda, I need you both to listen to me,” Ammon said softly but firmly, “you two need to run as far away from the castle as possible. You’re our last hope. With the master sword and Zelda’s sealing power, we may be able to win this—“
“How? How can we win this?” Zelda yelled, practically hysterical, “I couldn’t unlock my sealing power then, how—how can I unlock it now?”
Ammon gripped her upper arm, staring into her emerald green eyes. She stopped shaking slightly and stared back at him.
“You can do it, I know you can,” he said. Zelda looked at Link and he nodded as well. She took a deep breath and nodded herself. Ammon smiled and continued, “Now, we will hold off the monsters so you both can escape safely but—“
“Wait,” Link stopped his father. “You’re not coming with us?”
“You’re going to need all the help you can get Link. We will hold off the guardians and monsters so you and Zelda will escape, ok?”
“I—I can't leave you!”
“You’re going to have to, Link!” Ammon nearly yelled, grabbing both his arms and looking straight into his eyes. Link was struggling to compose himself, the very thought of leaving his father behind made him want to throw up. He couldn’t do that. He was his father. The two stared at each other for a while, Link’s eyes growing wet at the thought of never seeing him again. Ammon’s hand rested on Link’s cheek and he smiled at his son. He opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by the chilling sound of a laser being shot.
“GUARDIANS!” One of the soldiers yelled, and a laser shot through the gate, destroying most of the gatehouse except for the back. Ammon grabbed both Link and Zelda and dragged them out of the gatehouse.
“Wait, father—“ Link tried to beg, gripping onto his arms as if his life depended on it. Ammon gave him one last look before gathering him into a hug.
“I love you so much Link,” Ammon’s voice shook, and he gave his son a firm kiss on the head. Link started crying when he let go, and he was shoved harshly away from him. The gate in the back was shut closed, and Link was separated from his father.
“NO!” Link shouted, and he sprinted to the closed gate. Ammon turned away and faced the guardian that broke into the gatehouse. Link screamed as he heard lasers shooting left and right, begging to be let in, begging for his father to survive.
“Link!”
Link turned and saw Zelda trying to pull him away. More guardians were coming, and Link knew that he needed to leave. Zelda’s safety was his priority now, he needed to keep her safe. He wiped his eyes and grabbed Zelda’s hand, sprinting away from the fallen gatehouse. He pushed his emotions down and kept running. He kept running even when his legs burned, even when his lungs and throat burned, even when he wanted to fall and curl up in his grief, he kept running.
And running.
And running.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Link! Link, snap out of it!”
Ammon shook his son gently, trying to get him to open his eyes. He didn’t know what happened, he found his son, he hugged him, and then he spaced out, almost as if he was dreaming. But it seemed more like a nightmare he was going through. His face was pinched in pain, and tears started streaming down his eyes, but his eyes stayed closed. Ammon stepped back, trying to figure out what to do. Link had never done this before, in fact, Ammon had never seen anything like this, so he just sat there, panicking as his son cried. Finally, he opened his eyes with a gasp. He looked around, dazed and confused, until his eyes landed on Ammon.
“Link?” Ammon said softly, and his boy took a step back. “Link? What’s going on?”
Link turned on his heel and started walking away, hugging himself. Ammon blinked, surprised at his reaction.
“Link— Link wait!” Ammon called out, grabbing his son’s arm, and Link pulled against him harshly. Ammon stared at his wet face, tears streaming down his face, his hair sticking to his cheeks.
“P-please,” Link whispered, his voice shaking, “it hurts too much.”
Ammon’s mouth fell open, what hurt? What hurt too much?
“Link?”
“Father?”
Ammon turned around and gasped. It was… Link? No but Link was right in front of him, right? Ammon observed the boy right in front of him and noticed the scars. How did he notice them now? The scars were all too familiar to Ammon, scars from guardian lasers, he bore his own on his nub of an arm. Confusion hit Ammon, and he let go of the boy in front of him, who ripped away and sprinted into the forest. Ammon stood there in shock, watching as the crying boy disappeared.
“Father?” His son said more quietly. Ammon turned slowly to him, confusion apparent on his face.
“Who—who was that?” Ammon asked in a quiet voice. Link pursed his lips and looked down.
“We call him Wild. He… he’s from the future where… the calamity won.”
Realization hit Ammon like a brick wall, and he covered his mouth.
“Oh—oh goddesses.” Ammon turned back to the forest where Wild ran, despair overwhelming him. “Oh goddesses…”
Link came up behind him and rested his hand on Ammon’s shoulder.
“You didn’t know,” he said softly, and tears welled up in Ammon’s eyes.
That poor boy…
Link pulled him into a hug, rubbing his back gently while Ammon played the events through his head.
“Oh that poor boy,” he whimpered, and Link gave him a tighter squeeze.
“You didn’t know,” he said again, and the two held each other after being apart for so long.

Hi I saw your request open
Can I requested yandere scenarioif yandere platonic links x toddler centaur reader
Like the little reader was Chase by the shadow away from her heard cuz she a unicorn centaur foal .
And she bumps into the links. And the little cutie pie reader looks up with tears in her eyes and babbles scared.
The links: ok nope you my child now Pick up reader put her in a slig as she confused and just accept her fate looking around confused as they walk to the group
since this is so close to the lynel ask I was sent earlier I made this a continuation to it and wrote several ideas out instead, hope you enjoy! if you wanted something else feel free to send the ask again.
. . .
Twilight traded a glance with you and looked at Sky, who was dutifully ignoring him to dote on you instead. You were scooped up in his sail cloth while it was wrapped around him holding you close to his torso while still allowing you room to breathe. Twilight was a bit jealous to be honest. He wanted to be the one to hold you while they walked. However he had to admit that you needed the time to walk on your own without having anyone hold you as well.
“If you never let them walk they'll never learn how to.” Twilight was aware that his words fell on deaf ears. Sky just kept walking, acting like he didn't hear anything. He warped an arm under you and held you a bit closer to his face so he could coo at you. Smiling and making sure to keep you entertained while the group trudged along the wooded path. The rancher walked around Sky to his other side so he could get a better look at you. Your face is resting on Sky’s arm and he can see that you're dozing off.
Twilight should have kept his voice down because you started to stir and move around a bit. Glancing over at the rancher Sky gives him a side eye from disturbing your peace but quickly goes back to smothering you. You're far too passed out to even care about the exchange taking place.
“They need to save their energy.” Sky smiles and pats your head. Teh touch wakes you up and you lift your head in response causing Sky to coo at you some more. Wind hears the commotion and rushes over. Wild follows of course and Warrior chuckles. He won't admit it but he quite enjoys how much energy you've given the group. Even boring walks through the woods feel a bit livelier.
"Let me see." Wind picked up on the quiet voices and matched his to theirs. Staying quiet as well as to not disturb you. He can't wait to show his sister. Earlier he wrote a letter to Aryll and made sure to include a drawn picture of you to show her. He drew it himself and was really proud.
Wild peers over the group but can't get a good look so he walks around to stand next to Twilight. He had a soft spot for Lynels, thinking they were like cats but would never admit that to anyone in the group. He'd never hear the end of it if they all thought he was going to get hurt around one. He had already thrown the idea of taking you to meet other lynels around in his mind but he couldn't ever let you meet one. The thought that you might imprint on a lunel even after meeting them dawned on him and they can't have that.
Obviously any other Lynel that came around the group would need to be killed. To keep you safe. However, will you get upset if you watch? Oh no the realisation hits him that you are far too young to keep around while they are attacking monsters. Wild turns around and looks for Time, who's by the back of the group with Four surveying the surrounding woods. TWhile walking over Wild carefully thought about how to explain this dilemma. You're simply too precious to be around during a fight, the idea of having you being taken away when a fight breaks out must be discussed sooner rather than later.
. . .
Other ideas I have that I don't have the energy to fully write out,
Everyone sitting around near mealtime feeding the cub and everyone arguing over what food would be best. Wild says meat is just fine. Twilight says you might be too young to eat meat at this point, and Time offers you milk from his ranch. You accept both the meat and the milk. Sky says maybe they should try some bird and Wild points out that it's only because he prefers birds because that's what he's used to himself. They start a different conversation while Hyrule thinks about his dietary constrictions due to being a fairy and asks if you might need veggies. Twilight realises you really will need a balanced meal and starts chopping up an apple for you to eat. He cuts you a piece and hands it to you, Legend says that's a fruit not a veggie and Wild says he has some herbs and a bulb like a veggie in his slate they can give you as well.
Four, who I haven't forgotten about rather he's just in the back of my mind waiting for me to call him back out, would make you some travelling clothes and a little backpack. He actually made two backpacks because he wasn't sure if it should go around your human torso or your lynel part but he lets you choose. You keep the two of them and swap them out. One day Wind stops you and searches them because he loves to snoop. He pulls out an array of items. Rocks, a stick, some snacks, Time asks what he's doing and he says snooping. A slingshot which Time gave you to play with, he had one as a kid, a wood carving of a bird, possibly a hawk, from sky that he never finished. He set it down and you must have taken it without him noticing. A blanket and a stuffed fox are in your pack as well.

Perfect Heart (Part One)
Dean Winchester x Reader
Warning ⚠️: Depictions of self harm, suicidal tendencies and mentions of depression and mental illness. Language. Later --sexual themes. Description: Dean and Sam went on a hunt, leaving you to your own devices. A week before they left you overheard them talking about you leaving you to feel as worthless as ever.
Read at your own risk.
Note: If you’re struggling just know you are never alone.
Dean had been waiting on you to call him back as he had left several voice messages and fifteen missed calls in your voicemail box. He wasn't at all worried, he knew you. You would accidentally leave your phone on Do Not Disturb while you were busy working on something, whether it would be finishing that book series or binge watching your shows on Netflix.
He trusted that you were safe and sound back at the bunker, while he and Sam took their time driving back from a hunt damn near five hours from you. Dean planned on making some dinner for the two of you.
Probably something he wouldn't burn, like spaghetti, or just picking up something so that he wouldn't risk it. Whatever he planned on doing, he knew you would appreciate it.
You would have appreciated it, if you were even stable enough to pick yourself up off of your bedroom floor. You stared into space, fighting this game of tug o' war inside your head.
Contemplating whether or not you would actually do it. Whether you would off yourself tonight, or wait another couple months when you hit rock bottom in the comfort of your bedroom.
Your eyes squinted, the lights were too bright, the walls too dark, and such a suffocating color. You had your knees pulled up against you, trying so hard to comfort yourself, steadily rocking back and forth.
"I'm okay." You said to yourself between breaths. "I'll be just fine."
That voice in the back of your mind would not keep quiet, though. The dark, amalgamation of voices, of childhood trauma and past relationships coming back to haunt you, when you thought you had finally gotten away from it all.
You tugged your jacket a bit tighter around yourself, tucked your head between your legs, trying to breath as calmly as you could. Your thoughts drifted away, to Dean and to Sam. The two brothers who you thought so highly of. But you heard their conversation a couple of days before they had left.
That was a week ago.
You were walking down the hallway, about to head down to the common area when you heard the two brothers arguing downstairs.
"Do you really think I wanted to bring her along? Y/N? One of these days she's going to get herself killed." Dean huffs.
"Then why don't you tell her to leave then? Get it over with. She can go home, back to her apartment. And never have to see us again." Sam replied, a loud slam on the table made her jump, it was probably either Dean or Sam throwing their stuff onto one of the tables.
"I couldn't do that. I couldn't just tell her to leave. It would make things a hell of a lot worse. If it were up to me or you or anyone. The best choice would just let her go. Let her make her mistake." Dean retorts, the chair squeaking as she heard his sigh sitting down.
Sam scoffs. "Just let her die then? That's as bad as saying for her to just kill herself, Dean."
You slowly retreated back to your room in disbelief. You felt like you were dreaming, except it was not even a dream, it was a full blown nightmare. You expected to be safe after that night. But as you had gotten to your room, you could hear the boys coming up the stairs, their voices growing louder as you hurriedly shut off your light and locked the door. They could have easily picked the lock, but hopefully they would just ignore it and go on.
"She still asleep?" You heard Sam ask.
"That's all she ever does anymore, Sam. It's sad, dude." Dean mutters.
Sam stops just right in front of your door, the two pairs of footsteps as it was silent between them for a brief moment.
"Look Dean, I know you're upset at the fact Y/N doesn't hunt with us as often anymore. You need to cut her some fucking slack. I'm not going to lose my best friend because you want to be a dick." Sam growls, walking away, leaving Dean just outside your door.
It takes you a minute to recuperate as you peak up to still see his boots at your door. It doesn't take long, but he knocks, without your surprise.
"You up?" His gruff voice asks. You don't answer, or move. You just wait him out, as you hear him heave a sigh as his boots retreat down the hallway.
Now here you were. They would be back in no time, and you sat with the phone ringing beside you. You tried to act like it was all fine except it wasn't. You drew back your sleeves, your head resting on the side of the bed, your legs now spread out in front of you. It didn't take long for you to lose the battle in your head. The small switchblade you were given by Bobby pricked at your skin as it drew the cleanest of lines.
Just like he said it would.
But Bobby was not meaning it in the way you were using it for. You didn't care though. Even if you did, you wouldn't care for long. Getting a grip you sliced at yourself again, and again and again until you were numb. You wanted to go slow, so that you could pray to that asshole who sat at his computer writing the Winchester's story and never putting you in it. You were the least important and the one who was always picked last. Who would care if you took yourself out of the picture.
Not Dean.
Not Sam.
Not Castiel or Gabriel.
Not anyone.
You felt alone; you were alone.
And you were going to die alone.
You were getting tired, not being able to feel your arms. Would tonight be your last night in the bunker? You surely hoped so.
Dean and Sam entered the bunker, after a quick stop at the closest fast food shop, Dean placed the bags of food on the table, hurriedly going up the steps to your room to annoy you into coming down. He crept up to your bedroom door, and waited. Your light was on, and the soft noise of your TV made it seem like you were awake. He raised his hands and began to bang on your door, jolting you awake again. You had drifted off, and began to panic as you realized you were covered in your blood and the scars on your arms were still oozing blood. You cursed as you dragged yourself off of the floor, as much as you hated yourself, you had to get up. Getting the energy to haul yourself into the bathroom you stripped and bathed yourself. The water stung, and the pain was a bit more than you could take so after cleaning yourself you hopped out. Patching yourself up with the first aid kit you hid under the sink you awkwardly shuffle into a t-shirt, a large sweatshirt, and a clean pair of sweatpants. You threw away the clothes you hurt yourself in tossing them under the bed until later. You took the rug that was normally in front of the bed to cover the stains from your burden.
"Y/N? What's taking so long? Your foods gonna' get cold, dummy." You heard Dean on the other side of the door. The doorknob jiggled.
"Why's the door locked? You okay in there?" You didn't answer him. Instead you looked at yourself in the mirror and sure enough you looked like absolute shit. You didn't care. Wandering to the door, you unlocked it and sure enough Dean Winchester stood there, leaning against the door frame with a smile.
"Hey Y/N/N--" He froze. You didn't bother even hearing him at the moment. You trudged downstairs seeing Sam as he gave a wave and small smile which you ignored as you grabbed your food, passing Dean on the way back up, earning a confused look. You hurried back to your room, making sure to lock back up, settling down on the floor, facing away from the door. You had set your food on the dresser, not bothering to eat either. You weren't hungry, but you didn't want the two brothers to be concerned about you.
Dean sat next to Sam and nudged him. "Is Y/N okay?" Dean said in between bites of his sandwich. Sam shrugged looking at his brother.
"I don't know. I think it's best we chalk it up that she needs space."
The two brothers nod to each other.
"Agreed."

✨️🧡Ceres's backstory 🧡✨️
The incident
(gore warning!! Although you should be used to that by now lmao)
Ceres was walking with his sister very late at night. They were out celebrating her birthday since everyone else was out working, or simply too tired, it was just them two. They were mostly eindow shopping since they couldnt afford more than that. They had lost track of time, and decided to head home. When they were in the middle of the woods, a pair of demond ran into them. Licking her lips, one of the demons went straight to Ceres, bloodthirsty. She chewed through his stomach, blood everywhere. Since they were in the middle of the woods, no one heard their screams of horror. It took Ceres a minute to realize that near him, hid little sister was also being eaten alive by the other demon. He began fighting even harder against the demon, more than he had been, to get to his sister and protect her. When the demon was finally taking a break after eating out his whole midsection, he felt dead. He managed to crawl over to his sister, but discovered that her demon had slit her neck and killed her. He couldn't do anything but hug her before he passed out.
-------
Basil had heard screams from the forest near their mansion in their dream. It wasn't enough to cause alarm, but he did remember when he woke up and decided to investigate.
They started on the path near their house, and found a boy, around their age, wrapped around a much younger girl. He had his whole midsection removed and there was blood covering the path. Basil checked if the boy was alive. By some miracle, he was - barely. The girl was clearly dead, so they picked up the boy first and brought him back to their mansion , where they placed him in a guest bedroom, and called shinobu. They went back for the girl, even though she wasn't alive, it was clear that the two were close.
Shinobu arrived to see how the mystery boy was doing. She had brought basic equipment, but decided just to bring the boy back to her mansion.
Recovery
A month later, Ceres woke up. This wasn't home..? This looked mire like a hospital. They began looking around and saw a person-shaped blob enter the room. They learned over him, and gently tried to talk to him. He was super confused - Where was he? What had happened? Who was this? His vision started to clear and his hearing returned, but he started feeling pain again. He sat up to ease the pain, but ad he did, the blanket fell off his uncovered chest, revealing his stomach to be gone, and his spine and ribs exposed. That just raised even more questions?
"...'m Shinobu, I'm the head doctor here. You were attacked by a demon, and Basil found you and brought you here. Please don't worry, we'll keep you safe. What is your name?"
"Ceres..."
And so Ceres went back to sleep, more assured than when he had woken up.
Training
After a few months, Ceres was able to walk more closer to normal again. They found that he had been infected with some of the blood of the demon that ate him, for him to walk and move when he really shouldn't have been able to. They also found that he didnt need to eat - or, he really couldnt. Most of his digestive system had been removed. They had contacted Ceres's family, and they agreed to let him train under Basil. They were poor and couldn't afford to keep him, as much as they wanted to. He agreed to visit them frequently.
At first, they went slowly and easy. Everyone, including Ceres, was trying to figure out how he could move. They discovered that if he was separated on his spine  he could reattach himself. It was very stressful figuring that out. They also found other parts of his body that were chewed through, but his spine was the only place that could be reattached.
Ceres decided to try meteor breathing, since he wasn't very sure what most of the demon slayer stuff was.
As he began to remember what happened to him and his sister, his hatred for demons grew. Throughout the months, he flinched when anyone mentioned demons, and on his first mission, he was filled with uncontrolled rage, and though it wasn't a high ranking demon, killed it faster than basil had ever seen before. It took him significantly longer than the rest of the demon slayers to get used to Nezuko, as when he saw her, he practically killed her right then and there. He went to his sisters grave frequently, and makes sure it is constantly clean.

trigun verse rehaul: polycule. (mentions/includes @breathofcosmos' milly and meryl.) (mentions/includes this blog's Knives.)
main notes below.
towards the end of the manga timeline, it diverges as listed.
vash and knives still fight, they still aim to go until death, but something's, incredibly different. there's a life signature on the incoming ships that makes knives pause. in turn, so does vash.
delight and relief and panic and fear crosses vash's face. it couldn't be that person, could it? it couldn't be him. it shouldn't be. how could it be?
and through the air waves, crackles a familiar voice; luka's.
though he doesn't intervene, luka's presence gives vash a reason to fight all over again, as well as a reason to defend.
vash does what he set out to do: stop knives.
and as a result, oh joy to us, the planet is saved, and the people have arrived. but before anybody can even thank vash, or further ostracize him, he's across the grounds faster than someone can barely take a breath.
luka is talking to the other humans, engaged in deep conversation about something relating to waking the others up, annoyed visibly & yet not. he's the odd man out, small and well built from a good regiment for himself but also standing out among the denizens of no man's land.
with a ceremonious pick up around the waist and jostling the old 'friend' from the sands of the near endless desert, vash delights in the pirate's company, asking too many questions and not allowing a single answer. stopping him by twisting to face him and place his hands on the sides of vash's face, he offers a smile - a REAL smile.
"you're home, this time?" "i'm home, for good."
though no one knows what this means, the older hands of the ships of SEEDS would remember vash stopping by the crash sites and finding luka passed out and bleeding out. a bleeding heart he is and was still then, vash helped to personally take care of him - and when met with what was perceived as hostility in return, vash saw the fear of someone who didn't know where they were, and was far from home.
vash remembers seeing a younger version of luka - a more reckless version, one that worried him, more than he worried about anyone else. worried him the way a careless behavior worries a lover.
now, though, luka is older - not by much, but the effects are visible.
they don't tell anybody what happened or when they confessed to each other for the first time, or how it managed to stay this whole time. all that's needed to be seen is that luka, the cruel captain who means the best for his crew, the man who appeared on ship one day and the following day the transmission was broadcast like a beacon of prayer and plea - luka looked like he was smiling too big to notice he was crying.
little trivia about this verse.
after the end of the Academy Troubles campaign is when luka's timeline diverges (though he never marries mollymauk, in this verse, as well). when he's safe to, and after letting his mother and father know he's leaving, he channels most of his magic into a couple spells - one to send a message, one to locate a person, and one to take him the safest way to that person.
vivian keeps in touch, as does simon. noire checks in too, confusing people as to how they're even getting around so fast. vivian has a bet that it'll only be a couple years before they're receiving the "news". vash and luka both don't know what they're talking about - meryl bets on a decade with information she's had before about vash, as the newest addition to the polycule.
wolfwood - who in this version survives the attacks against him in that last fight he was meant to lose - relents after a few months post - manga, accepting his fate as a part of this lovey dovey group. granted, ah, he wasn't doing good at hiding his love anyway.
milly is the one who suggested they all date each other, as if it were second nature to her. or perhaps it was just that she didn't know how they weren't official at that point.
luka, much more well adjusted to the thought of being loved, shows his affection in small ways. he's not loud about it, like wolfwood or vash are, but he does inevitably find himself caring quite deeply, where it scares him briefly, only to be reassured by vash and milly - meryl and wolfie just (nervous blush) about it occasionally.

Hail The Saviour [Incomplete]
Another resident evil fic, modern au.
19/01/2020
The time, always the time. Running late like the white rabbit. Bright lights flashed through curtain-clad windows. It was still night. Leda sighed quietly, what was she awake for now? The discomfort of the bed she slept upon was enough to leave bruises no matter which way she positioned herself. Windows in a house-like prison. She was an experiment and had been from youth. Her dark brown eyes glanced over the room, having sworn the dream she had was real. The lights were simply just a part of that dream.
“Enough’s enough. You’re making a martyr out of me, Doctor.” A red-headed woman stood in front of a younger Leda, protecting her as if she were her mother. Young Leda trembled with fear, hiding behind the woman who tried to keep her safe - the woman ultimately failing. Red filled her field of vision, blood clinging to fiery hair. Leda shook the woman’s body, nothing happened. No reaction, the woman didn’t get up and she didn’t breathe. Leda sobbed before and as she was taken away.
“Mother Mary forgive me”, she murmured to herself something akin to a prayer, “this is war and I will take blood for the blood spilt before my eyes.” Her dark hair covered her face, pale and nearly translucent. Leda’s head was lowered as she stared upward through her eyebrows - watching as the figure of a woman approached the glass door of her room. This woman, one of the surviving Wesker children, gave a smile. It wasn’t a friendly smile, no. There was a malicious intent behind it yet it could fool damn near anyone - except for Leda. Clear blue, the colour of her eyes. She stared down Leda as if she was her prey.
“Good morning, Leda”, she began, “Have I interrupted your prayers?” “You know exactly when I start, so it’s planned”, Leda answered. Another smile, this time a humoured smile. Her teeth where somewhat visible. “Ah well, you should pick a better time to recite your prayers, right”, she asked the brunette. This garnered an annoyed expression from Leda. “Would if I could but it's a habit at this point. A decade of praying like this in a time of need”, Leda bluntly stated as she sat up in her bed. “Your mother taught you that, I assume”, the blonde asked. “Who else?”
Aris nodded, “I suppose I’ll leave you be for now”, she stated, “You’ll be needing all the rest you can get, Leda.” The lights flicked off the moment Aris left the room, leaving Leda in darkness. Leda grumbled to herself as she laid back down, pulling her heavy blanket over herself again. It wasn’t long before she found herself within another dream.
A blond man stood idly, watching two figures fighting something in the distance. He was dressed in all black, even his sunglasses. A grin had formed on his face, his gloved hands pressed together as he watched the fight from afar. The land was ablaze, dangerously bright hues of yellow, orange and red and the culprit was amused. “Don’t you see”, he asked, “I’m simply saving the world from humanity’s destructive nature.” He was talking to Leda. “And the answer to that is more violence”, she asked him. “Through destruction new life can thrive”, he answered, “Just as how wild fires rid the forest of useless, dried underbrush. Look at how easy they’ve been making it, every step they take is a mistake. Each direction leads them astray.” There was a sick sort of humour in his voice and for some reason, Leda found this more tolerable than Aris’ attempt of being human. She clung to her humanity like a moth was so easily drawn to bright lights. This man, though, completely disregarded it. He was playing god. An angry, merciless and unforgiving god. “You’ll be the one to survive this all”, he added, “but I know you won’t be the only one.” There was an annoyed tone to his voice, as if there being more than one survivor wasn’t something he wanted.
This time, the sun’s light began peaking through the curtains. It was real and it ended Leda’s dream. She sat up groggily and yawned. The man from her dream remained an image burned into her mind.
Aris was returning, Leda knew that. “Well, now it is morning”, she announced, “and I’ve brought someone along for you to meet.” “You talk to me like I’m a child”, Leda responded. “In comparison to me, you are still quite young. What, Twenty, Twenty-one? Anyways”, Aris stated, the person whom I’ve brought along is closer to your age so, I thought it might do you good to talk to him.”
“Socialization never hurt anyone”, Leda acknowledged, sighing as she got up. “Right and maybe you might learn something… since you always seem to want to be learning”, Aris pointed out. Leda narrowed her eyes briefly, still not trusting the other woman. She crossed her arms over her chest. “Get dressed”, Aris added, “He should be on his way soon.” Leda stared Aris down, “What’s wrong with my pyjamas”, she asked. “Just put on real clothes”, Aris answered. Leda rolled her eyes, “Fine.” After their exchange, Aris left the room and Leda began to change.
Leda was quick to change and it was only a few moments before this person Aris spoke of would arrive. He looked all too familiar, which he seemed pleased about. “You seem to know who I am already”, he stated, “I don’t believe Aris has told you much else aside from to expect a visitor, has she?” Leda shook her head, “No”, she answered softly. “Oh, well that’s to be expected of her”, he continued, “she does love setting off paranoia… and anticipation.”
He, Albert Wesker, had taken a mental note of Leda’s seemingly meek response and behaviour. “She told me that you happen to be rather sarcastic and snarky… maybe that’s reserved for her, though.” Leda noticed the similarities of the siblings’ behaviour, which was strange to her - considering her having been an only child. “But that’s not why I’m here”, he continued, “Come with me.”
Leda was all too eager to leave this cage of a room. “I can see that she’s kept you locked away like a bird. Aris does know that you’re leaving her watch, which she isn’t too happy about but she’ll have to get over it.”
There was something so strangely soothing about his voice, Leda couldn’t explain it. Maybe it was the assurance that she was finally getting out of here and that she’d be able make Aris pay for her wrongdoings. Leda wasn’t too sure, that’s what she knew so far. She followed after Albert, immediately looking down as the bright sunlight shone into her eyes. Ten years out of the sun had really done its damage, hadn’t it? Despite her recoil, Leda had truly missed it. That warm light.
Unlike Aris, Albert was able to put up a believable façade of caring although he didn’t. An umbrella was opened over Leda to shield away the sun’s harsh rays.
The ride to the Umbrella Corp labs was silent, but not nearly as silent as the way Aris tended to keep her estate. Leda’s eyes peered from the car window, she watched the scenery changing from rural to city. So much had changed over those ten years. She sank back against the car’s seat, hands folded together as they rested in her lap.
Inside, Albert began to explain to Leda what Uroboros was - leading Leda down a rabbit-hole of curiosity which seemed to please Albert as he willingly explained it further but not the whole of it. The explanation of Uroboros’ full purpose would have to wait until later. “And here, so long as you are supervised, you may go wherever you choose. Outside, even but you must return”, Albert told Leda. Leda nodded in agreement, this was certainly better than the confinement placed upon her by Aris.
30/06/2021
It had taken a full year for the serum to be completed. There had been trials, which showed where the serum needed work. There had been a nearly unhealthy obsession formed over Leda, which she found frightening yet she chose to not display her fear. The upside to having been brought here was that she had begun to look alive again and felt that as well but the downside, she was about to lose that feeling all over again. She agreed to it and there was no way she could turn back now.
There was a purposeful gentleness to the way Albert had taken Leda by the arm, “It’s ready, now. The tests have shown it’s more than perfectly ready at this stage”, he told her. What he hadn’t told her was that it had worked and he had tested it on himself and the other vial was waiting for Leda. There was a distinct feeling he had that told him it would work on her as well. Although outwardly he remained calm, his excitement for the completion of Uroboros was evident.
The time it took for Uroboros was actually quite slow. It wasn't exactly fast, the least it could take was twelve hours and the most was seventy-two. Like the average cold or flu, having it rush to activation would kill the afflicted immediately - rather, turn them into leech-like pustules. He still hadn’t explained to Leda the full of why Uroboros existed in the first place - not that the why mattered much to her anymore.
06/06/2020
Speculations, speculations. Where would they get anyone?
There had been speculations about what could possibly be going on between Albert and Leda - quiet speculations between those on the research team and security alike. They were so close.
His eyes always remained on Leda whenever she was in his line of sight. They thought that he’d possibly and finally felt something akin to love. Or maybe he did genuinely feel it, if that were somehow and magically possible - it sure as hell wasn’t medically possible. Yet.
Obsession. That’s what it was but, he could put on a show even though it was wrong to do so. He just couldn’t let anyone else close to Leda. He’s the one who got her - the one who saved her, the one who continued to save her from humanity and its cruelty. What had started out as a simple curiosity grew to an obsession - all thanks to Aris. Leda belonged to him. She belonged to him and there wasn’t anything that could be done to change that.
He especially adored that look she gave him - one that was of respect fuelled by something nothing short of innocence and adoration. It made him smile. All too often it made him smile and thats what fuelled the speculations of others around. It wasn’t easy to keep those speculations hidden, though.
10/06/2023
The tests had gone accordingly. Uroboros had successfully merged. It had taken a little over three years for it to do so but it was well worth it. Every minute spent sequencing the genetic makeups that Uroboros could successfully merge and form a symbiosis with, every second spent testing and formulating the serum was all worth it. It was a success.
Albert, wherever he had gone, had not been there to see just how successful his experiment was. It was claimed that he was killed, which should have been impossible considering all things.
Leda felt a tug, a pull. Something like a magnet pulling her down a path. It was strong, she could hear a deafening heartbeat and she knew immediately whose it was. Leda knew she had to find him and quickly do so.
Leda.
His voice. She heard him speak so clearly to her as she got ready for this expedition. She needed no-one else for it, not another soul. Where was she to go? She wasn’t quite sure, but she knew that once she found him, things could go back smoothly - accordingly with his plan. And she was quick to find where he was - trapped beneath volcanic stone.
“Hey”, a voice shouted out at her. Leda growled, turning her head as her attention had been grabbed rather quickly. “Kennedy”, she greeted with a grin, “Nice to finally meet you.” “Who the hell are you”, he asked, “what are you doing here?” “The cop instinct still runs strong in you”, she pointed out, “I’m here to pay my respects.” Leon glared at her, watching as Leda rose up from the ground. He staggered back, surprised by Leda’s height. There was no chance in hell that Leda was human anymore. “Leda”, he asked, “You died…” “Kidnapped”, she corrected, “And Albert saved me. He gave to me what Aris stripped away.” “Aris”, he asked, “Who?” “Don’t worry about it”, she warned him, “worry about me - what’s gonna happen to you if you stay in my way.”
Chills ran down Leon’s spine as those words left Leda’s lips with a hiss. He had drawn his gun and had it aimed at her head - but she, she had been his friend once upon a time. He furrowed his eyebrows, “He’s taken your life away from you”, Leon stated. “My life was taken the day Aris took my mother’s life and locked me in a cages like a bird”, she spat, “and you want me back in that rusted cage for the sake of ‘saving’ me.”
Leon felt his eyes stinging as they threatened to well in his eyes, “I really do want to save you”, he told her, “Please, you gotta let me!” “You would have never been able to”, she sighed, “no matter how hard you tried.” In her eyes, she had already been saved.
Leda loomed over Leon, “And there is nothing you can do now. Leave if you know what’s best for you.”
“He’s over there”, a woman’s voice called out. “Where?” “In front of the tall woman, Chris!” Leda grinned again, “Too late.” An inky blood-like substance dripped from a wound on Leda’s palm that already began its healing. “Leon! Leave, let us deal with her”, Chris called out. Both he and Clair had picked up on Leon’s distress. “To the master goes his hound”, Leda mocked.
Gunshots rang out in the air. They were all too focused on shooting Leda down all while a leech-like pustule wriggled its way into the volcanic stone. It was more than strong enough to do so while sparing all else of its strength to give to whatever of the Uroboros survived. Draining and leeching like a vampire who’s not tasted blood in centuries. The bullets struck Leda’s body - piercing her flesh. Blood oozed for a moment from those wounds yet she seemed unfazed.

"you should run"

kento nanami drabble
for context: this is a headcanon i wrote for my oc named seena kiyomi. she's actually dating toji (that's a confusing story for another time), and her best friends are gojou and nanami. this takes place during the shibuya arc-- so there are manga spoilers ahead! if you're interested in hearing more about my oc, feel free to send asks!
likes, reblogs, comments, and follows are appreciated!
Gojou was too weak to teleport Seena out of the Veil. It was just too far, and he had already spent the majority of his power on the hundreds of transfigured humans and curses Mahito and Getou threw at them before Jogo took another shot at them. It was exhausting. Seena wasn't capable of fighting anymore. Her Domains had grown so weak that a single flick at the barriers, and they were gone. He didn't know what to do. He knew he had to get her away before it got worse, but where to? Where could she be possibly safe? Nanami.
He cared for Seena as much as Gojou did. If anyone could save her now with the inevitable on the horizon for Gojou, Nanami could get her somewhere she could rest until the Veil was down or she had enough cursed energy to fight again.
So, without a second thought, Gojou warped with a half-asleep Seena in his arms. He managed to land near Nanami who was very casually fighting one last second grade curse; which was easy work for him, he was just playing with his food a bit. There was no time to talk or ask questions. One second, Gojou was there, gently putting Seena down on a park bench, the next, he was gone to go fight Mahito and Getou again.
Nanami sliced at the weak curse one last time to finally exorcise it before he ran over to Seena. He kneeled in front of her and brushed some of her hair out of her face. She was breathing. Barely. Her eyes were closed, her mouth was hanging open, cuts dripping blood everywhere, her uniform torn to shreds. He quickly removed his jacket to cover her.
"What did Gojou get you into this time, See?"
She whined.
"Let's get you out of here."
He went to slide his arms under her small figure so that he could carry her home, but he was stopped when he heard footsteps approaching. Quickly, he stood up straight and readied his knife again for the next potential opponent. The hope was that it was just a student who was looking for help; but Seena and Nanami's luck had truly run out that day. Jogo had followed.
"Darn it-- I thought the white haired one came here, too!" Jogo hissed. "You'll do, though, I suppose."
Nanami took one lunge at Jogo. That was all it took. One lunge and a misstep, and the special grade curse managed to stick out a hand, press it to Nanami's lower abdomen, and burn right through him. Seena was unconscious for the whole thing. Jogo was disappointed in his opponents since the first grade sorcerer went down without a fight, and the semi-first grade sorcerer was already half-dead on the park bench; neither of them were what he wanted. Gojou was his worthy opponent. Gojou was the one Jogo wanted! But like a coward, he ran, giving the volcano head curse no choice other than to go find Sukuna's vessel to complete the task they had been sent to Shibuya for in the first place. So, he left. The stench of burning flesh was enough to give Jogo his sadistic edge he needed to continue on; and the girl's slow death was enough to put a smile on his face because it gave him joy to know that Gojou couldn't save his friends from painful deaths, even though he had tried his best.
When Seena woke, she was in agony. Her head was spinning, her stomach was cramping, and her ankle felt twisted or broken. At least she wasn't cold. The wind was starting to pick up as she sat up on the unfamiliar park bench in Shibuya, but Nanami's coat kept her protected from the elements since her uniform was hardly there now.
"Nanami-sensei?" she croaked. Her eyes burned, yet she tried her best to search the area. "'Toru?" Nothing. "Toji?" That was a useless call-out, she realized, but she was desperate.
There were char marks on the concrete at her feet, but no sign of a body or a fight. Where had Nanami gone? She remembered Gojou dropping her off, and Nanami was about to take her home when she fell asleep... Why weren't they home? Why wasn't he there? Where was Gojou? Why wasn't he back yet?
Her head and stomach ached painfully as punishment for her anxiety spike.
"Nanami-sensei..." She slid off the bench. "'Toru..." She limped on her good leg while following the trail of soot that went into the train station. "Toji..."
Seena found herself hanging on the railing as she went down the staircase that led into the train station. The soot was fading, but she had an idea of where she was going. Why she thought it was a good idea to follow it, she didn't know. Perhaps it was a sign of Nanami's successful warpath. Perhaps it was a sign of one of the curses Nanami was still fighting. Perhaps it wasn't Nanami at all and she was instead walking to her death. Regardless, did it matter? If it was Nanami, he'd take her home, yet things would never be the same now that Toji was gone. And if it was a trap and she were to die in that train station, at least she would be put out of her misery.
Slashing, stabbing, grunting, and curses' cries echoed throughout the station. Seena could hear all the signs of a fight for a split moment before it was eerily silent as she finally landed on the platform. She looked up. Blonde hair... Built figure... Black dress shoes... Stupid, tight, bland khakis... It was Nanami. She felt relief wash through her when she noticed all of the curses littered at his feet. But then her heart sank. Mahito had made a sudden appearance, and before Seena knew it, his hand was inside of Nanami's bare chest. Mahito smiled wickedly. Nanami froze and looked down at the arm in him.
It was then, with the slight change in angle, that Seena realized where the soot had come from. Nanami. Half of his body had been burnt to a crisp-- There was no blood, just burnt skin and brittle bone that barely kept him together long enough to breathe around Mahito's arm.
Seena stumbled. She tripped on her bad ankle, making her yelp, bringing unwanted attention to her.
"Seena," Nanami welcomed happily.
She froze and looked up at him.
"You should run."
And with that, Mahito twisted his arm, and Nanami's torso exploded.
Seena screamed until there was a hand covering her mouth to keep her quiet.
"Seena-sensei, you have to go!" Itadori released her and started shoving her back up the stairs, despite her cries, protests, and complaints about her foot. "Go! Gojou's gone, too! You have to leave Shibuya!"

Forgotten Ties - Chapter 18 - Part 2
Tumblr media

They were getting close to the mountains now.
They could see them looming up ahead through the trees.
"Wait," Nim called out to the others as he drew to a sudden stop.
"I smell wood smoke."
"A campfire?" Aris asked.
Nim nodded.
Aris looked out towards the mountains.
"We're close now. I only scouted one path through the mountains, so we can't go around. Once we cross out of the woods, we'll be exposed."
"It might not be humans," Marigold suggested. "It could be other hybrids. Maybe we could help one another."
"I'll scout ahead and find out," Nim said. "It'll give the kids a chance to rest before we make the crossing, anyway."
"Okay," Aris said. "Be careful."
As Nim headed off into the woods, Skye wondered why people told others to be careful.
Did that actually do anything?
Did some people need the reminder?
Should Skye be reminding people to be careful?
What if he didn't and then something bad happened because he forgot?
It didn't take long for Nim to return.
"One human," he reported. "A man. I don't smell any other humans and it looks like he's travelling alone but he's camped right at the edge of the treeline. If we try to head up the mountain anywhere near here, he'll see."
"Well, we can take one human, right?" Aris asked.
"But... take him how?" Marigold asked. "We can't just attack someone unprovoked because they're human. That isn't fair."
"I guess we could try talking to him," Nim suggested.
"What if he has a gun?" Aris asked. "A human on his own out here, I wouldn't be surprised. He might not be as interested in talking as we are and none of us are immune to bullets."
"I could talk to him," Skye offered. "I'm not immune to bullets but I am very fast."
"I don't know, Skye..." Nim said. "It's dangerous. I can go instead."
"You said yourself when those soldiers with guns came to take us that if anyone could get away from them safely, it would be me," Skye said. "This is the same. I want to do it."
"He might not be a bad pick," Aris said. "He's non-threatening and honestly, kind of charming. You or I might be able to defend ourselves, Nim but we're also the most likely to scare someone into a situation where we would need to. You're also not intimidating, Marigold but you are defenceless."
"Skye should do it, if he wants to," Marigold agreed.
She offered Skye a smile.
"I believe in you, Skye."
"I do too but..." Nim gestured vaguely. "You really want to do this?"
"Yes," Skye said. "I'm not scared."
"Well... okay," Nim said. "I'll walk you as close as I can without being seen and point you in the right direction. If anything happens, I won't be far away."
"Okay," Skye said.
He really didn't think it was such a big deal.
It was just one human who only maybe had a gun.
When Skye was in a gang for a few days, everyone had guns and none of them had been very nice people.
As they walked away from the group, Nim reached out his hand and held onto Skye's forearm.
He didn't say anything but Skye could tell from the set of his face that he was scared.
Skye patted Nim's hand where it held onto him.
"I'll be okay."
"Hmm," Nim said, his gaze dropping. "Anything can happen, Skye. People aren't always going to be safe anymore. Not that they always were before but..."
"Fifty gazillion years ago, when I was younger, things were pretty dangerous," Skye said. "They'd arrest people for stealing bread and do public hangings and I stole a lot of bread."
"You're tough. I know you are. But so was my mum..."
"So is your mum. She's fine and you'll see her again soon."
Nim gave a firm nod.
"You're right. And maybe she was right. I always thought letting herself get arrested was a huge mistake but who knows what would have happened to us if she'd tried to run or fight."
Nim let out a quiet breath of amusement.
"Yeah. So, maybe things work out, right? Even the bad things can become good if you just keep waiting and looking and give them a chance."
"Yeah," Skye said. "Maybe I'll die but it will be good."
"Not quite what I meant," Nim said as he drew to a stop. "You're not allowed to die. You'll have to go on ahead from here, though because we're getting close. He's straight through the woods here."
"Okay," Skye said as he unzipped his jacket. "I need you to look after my gloves and jacket for me. I can't jump and climb all around as fast with them on."
"All right. Don't get too cold."
Skye was already shivering.
"I hope the guy will share his fire."
Skye started to walk away but Nim pulled him back and pressed a kiss to his lips.
"Please be careful."
Skye returned the kiss with one of his own.
"I will. I promise."
When Skye started to walk away again, this time Nim didn't stop him.
Skye's very first safety precaution was being loud.
He didn't want to sneak up on the man.
He didn't want to startle him and he wanted the man to see him when he was at a distance so that the man would react to him when he was at a distance.
If that reaction was to pull out a gun, Skye could disappear back into the woods before the man stood a chance of putting a bullet in him.
Skye stomped as he walked and hummed to himself.
Up ahead, where the trees thinned out, he saw a man wearing a broad-brimmed hat lean his head to the side, consider Skye for a long moment and then wave.
Skye waved back.
As he walked, Skye collected a few sticks.
He stopped at the edge of the treeline and held them out to the man.
"You can have these for the fire."
The man nodded.
He was an adult but a young one.
There was a blanket draped around his shoulders and a hiking bag on the ground next to him.
"Thank you. You're a bit underdressed for the weather, aren't you?"
"Yeah," Skye said. "I have a jacket and gloves but I took them off in case you tried to kill me and I had to run away really fast."
"I'll be honest with you, I'm not really the killing sort," the man said. "Even in these dark times."
"Did you run away from something? Is that why you're out here?"
"Well, yes and no," the man said. "I've been out here longer than what's going on now and what I'm running from is... Well, I'm not sure I fully understand it myself just yet. The journey I'm on is a spiritual one more than anything."
Skye nodded as he edged closer to the fire and crouched down, though he hadn't understood most of what the man had said.
"My name's Skye. What's yours?"
"Noel," the man said. "Though sometimes it feels like it doesn't belong to me anymore."
"You say a lot of strange things, human man," Skye said as he rubbed his arms. "But you seem nice."
"I try to be."
Noel unwrapped the blanket from around his shoulders and held it out to Skye.
"Here."
"Thank you," Skye said as he took it. "So, why are you sitting here?"
"Waiting for a friend," Noel said. "I haven't seen him in days but I trust him. He'll be back."
Skye wrapped the blanket tight around his shoulders.
He was still cold but he no longer felt like the air was sucking the warmth out of his skin.
"Oh. Another human?"
Noel laughed.
"Oh, no, far from it. He's a lot stranger than you."
"Well, you don't know how strange I am."
"True but he's pretty stiff competition for anyone."
"Okay. Well, I guess what I came over to ask is whether you would shoot us if we tried to go past you on our way to the mountain?"
"I don't have a gun, so you won't need to worry about that," Noel said.
"But... 'we'? You're not alone?"
"No he's not."

It goes both ways
Akuji lay on the ground tired from the fight with Leona, Akuji didn't bother getting up from the ground her body to tired and she feels her fake arm has broken in half no one knows about her arm and she wants it to stay that way. Grim looked over to his caregiver he felt worry take over his small form, yes he may be rude and annoying but he really does care for the white haired girl. He walks over to her and sits down next to her.
Akuji. Oh i am fine Grim just need a break. That took a lot out of me just need to rest.
Akuji blacked out and she could hear the small monster yell for her. Akuji woke up in the nurses office with Grim in the crook of her neck, he is sleeping and purring at the same time. Her body felt heavy and the nurse came in.
Akuji. You saw it didn't you?
Nal. Yes why have you not told anyone.
Akuji. Don't tell anyone even the damn crow. It's my secret to keep and when i am ready i will tell them.
Akuji feel back to sleep her mental state is not as strong right at the moment she misses her mom and sister. Bia is a smart girl and is more than likely with her mom going through all of the different worlds looking for her. Oh and she knows her mom had one of her anger outburst and is on a rage filled fight looking for her. Karrigan Larose known as Viper the Goddess of Creation and the mother of Akuji is one of the most important people in her life. A couple of days later things went back to normal but Akuji's attitude changed she was quiet before yes but now she won't speak to anyone and she won't get near Leona. Akuji was able to bind her false arm back into one piece but it was ruined and she is mad about that. Akuji looked down at the paper on her table this test was hard but she was able to get it done and she hopes Grim did his best so they don't fail.
Grim. Akuji.. AKUJI!
Akuji snapped out of it and looked at her monster friend.
Grim. You were off in space again.. are you okay?
Akuji. Oh i was thinking about my family thats all lets go and see our score.
Akuji gathered her things that Crewel got for her, He is kind but he had a cold hinge to him. As she walked behind Grim she felt a chill go down her spine a tall teen around her age is looking at her, his cyan hair and gold and green eyes looking into her soul. she turned walked away to get back to speed with Grim who was ahead of her. When she got there Jack was there Ace, Deuce and Grim seem to be upset about something. Then a anemone showed up on their heads so did many other students she ran to catch up with them and Jack.
Akuji. What did you three idiots do this time?
after telling her while they walked to the mirror room she remained calm but on the inside she is yelling at them for being idiots and not working hard. Her mom taught her that hard work will get you places. They all went through the mirror and then gone, Akuji and Jack got a water breathing potion from Crewel and they went. The dorm has a lounge in it but its also a cafe. Akuji looked around for a bit but stayed by Jack's side when she saw Grim in the kitchen doing the dishes and Ace and Deuce taking orders.
Akuji. I don't know to be mad or happy they are doing something that is not getting themselves in trouble.
Jade. Oh the Prefect of Ramshackle! Azul has been wanting to speak with you for some time follow me.
Akuji. Stay here Jack i got this.
Akuji followed the teen she swore he was in the mirror room. When they to the office in the back the boy for the hall was there . so twins.
Akuji. You asked for me?
Azul. Have a seat. I would like to make a deal with you.
Akuji sat down to find a gold scroll . she picked it up a read it
Akuji. To get the tree brainless boys i need to sign away Ramshackle? Pft. hehaha. I like you Azul your funny to think i would give up my only safe place to live. If you ask me the three should be punished for cheating. But i do care for them and if it means my only home here i would give it up but i will say this Azul. If you are going to try and pull the rug from under me you will NOT LIKE ME. Now Azul are you still sure you want to make this deal with me?
Akuji put her hand on his desk and bright pink flames made there way onto his desk and when Azul looked up her eyes were no longer the beautiful purple but a bight pink and her pupils looked like those of a angry cat. Then they went back to normal and she looked down at the paper shook her head and signed it and walked out. But she stopped
Akuji. Oh and no one will believe you.
Later that day she and Grim got what they could and left, Ruggie talked Leona into letting the two stay. She laid on the sofa in Leona's room she wished he had a spare room for her and Grim but she understands that they are all taken. She felt her eyes swell up with tears and she let them fall she misses her mom and sister her aunts and uncles. She was trying to be quiet as not to wake Leona and Grim up so she got up and went outside. She let them flow all of the shit she has been through since getting here has her PTSD acting up. she felt two arms wrap around her and pull her into their chest. She smelt Leona's scent she leaned into him, he is so warm reminds her of her mom she cries harder.
Akuji. I'm sorry i have been put through so much as of late and i am not used to being far from my family for so long. And i know damn well Crowley is not looking for a way home for me.
Akuji began to calm down and she looked at Leona and she gave a real smile then she fell asleep. She woke up on the sofa and she got up and got ready for her day. As she went through her classes She felt so drained from last night, Trey saw this and walked up to her with coffee in a cup. Akuji has been a voiding him like crazy and he really wants to talk to her so he made some coffee.
Trey. Riddle can you Give this to Akuji for me she seems to run away when i try and talk to her.
Riddle to the cup from his friend and gave it to the very tired looking Akuji and she gave a smile and drank it. But when she saw Trey her cheeks went a pink and took off and Riddle just smiled at this.
Jade. Well looks like she has a crush on Trey, lets get back and tell Azul Floyd.
Floyd. Angle fish is so fun to watch.
Akuji made her way to Savanaclaw and fell onto one of the sofa's and let out a loud sigh. She groans when she hears Grim yelling about how he doesn't want to work and yada yada. Akuji lets a growl slip from her lips. Akuji feels a bit better when she talked to Leona but she felt something was going to happen. She sat up and she knew she had to get her Dorm back. a few weeks later Azul overblotted and this caused her false arm to shatter. This caused everyone to freak out and this caused Akuji to do something she had never done.
Akuji. SHUT UP EVERYONE!
Tumblr media
Akuji. I am okay my arm was fake for the love of gods stop yelling. All that matters right now is Azul's health lets get him to the nurse we all need to be checked out. Leona picked her up and walked to the mirror room and they all got checked out. Akuji lay on her side faking being asleep so did have to talk to them. Azul has said sorry to everyone but he wanted to say sorry to Akuji and for breaking her false arm. She turned onto her back she knows she has a lot to tell them but she doesn't want to be ambushed by them all. She got up but she then remembers she has one arm right now and she is going to have a hard time fixing up Ramshackle like this. She had the nurse help her get her jacket on and she left the office and went to meet Ace Deuce and Grim at Ramshackle. She really wants one of her mom's hugs and some of her famous chicken dinner. Akuji know shes about to have a break down if she doesn't talk to someone but they need her to be strong. But she doesn't want to be strong for once in these long months she wants to fall apart and the others around her to help. Akuji didn't go back to Ramshackle she walked to the mirror room and sat down and looked at the floating coffins. She watched as they went up and down but she could hear foot steps coming to find her.
Grim. Akuji are you okay?
She felt the small monster like cat near her when she lifted her head her eyes where still purple but they had a hint of pink in them, Leona could feel the shift in the teen girl and he saw the hint of pink he could smell magic fill the air around them.
Akuji. I wish to be left alone.
Leona. No you don't i can see it in your eyes, you want to talk but your to scared to.
Akuji. No i am not.
Grim. Please take to us.
Azul. I know i am the last person you would ever want to talk to but you helped me please talk to us.
Akuji got up and smiled
Akuji. I am okay i swear i just need some time alone.
Many weeks later Jamil overblotted, After getting him back Akuji and Grim went back to Ramshackle. She was glad that Jamil was back to normal and all but its been many month since she was pulled here to this world. Everyone can see that Akuji has changed she doesn't hang out with Ace and Deuce as much anymore and even Grim was seeing it. So when Vil had taken over her dorm for the up coming VDC Competition. She is glaring at him right now she knows this is what needs to be done but she dislikes the way he treats Epel and other's around him. But she sees he is suffering much like her and her big sister side kicks in and she sits him down and shows Vil what they do in her home world what she used to clean her face.
Akuji. Butter milk helps with my skin and it gives it a soft feeling. But i love the dragon fruit face cream. I can see there is something on your mind Vil now you can always talk to me if you need do not hold it in.
The day of the VDC the boys were getting ready, Akuji had a talk with Hornton but he won't be here until later. Akuji stood outside taking deep breaths and she needs to stay strong. Akuji knows she is going to have a break down soon but it's not like anyone will talk with her, her 'friends' seem to go on with their days and the Overblot crew seem to get what they need from the staff but Akuji has to work for it. She works to save enough for food and fabric so she can make new shirts for herself. Crowley has seem to be trying to parent her as of late as well and now she has been having nightmares of her early childhood and when she lost her right arm. She wakes up screaming most nights poor Grim has been sleeping in the guest room.
Deuce. Akuji we are going on soon and Vil wants you in your seat.
Akuji. Oh okay.. Deuce try not to break your leg.
Akuji watched her friends do their dance then RSA went up. .. How did that kid song win?! Vil spent hours with the boys at Ramshackle training them. Vil overblotted and poor Akuji had enough so she used her fire on the overblot monster in the hopes it would let her release all of her anger at this world. After a long fight Vil was saved and the blot monster was killed but pink fire still on the group and Akuji stood there with a look of pain.
Malleus. Well it seems i missed the show.
Akuji. Oh hi Hornton yes you are late.
Malleus used his magic to fix the building and the show went on. Akuji held her side where Vil got her with his blot monster but her regen was kicking in so she didn't have to the nurse.
Ace. Akuji are you not going to tell us how you made that fire? You have no magic and yet you made fire from your hands?!
Leona. Yes i am wondering how you were able to do that as well.
Akuji felt the wall break as tears fell from her now very pink eyes.

[bitch you know why i'm here don't even act surprised]
After...after everything they'd been through together. After everything Casey had told Raph about his family and thoughts and feelings, after he let them in. This is how he was repaid? This is what he had to deal with. His best friend, his boyfriend, marked with that fucking purple dragon marking as if it were supposed to be some sort of sign of pride. His stomach twisted in disgust, tears pricking his eyes - thankfully hidden by his hockey mask. Casey could feel his heart breaking, grip on his hockey stick tight to the point knuckles turned white,
"You TRAITOR!!"
He screamed at them, loud and guttural enough to burn the back of his throat. It hurt. Everything fucking hurt! How could Raph do this to him! How could they side with the purple dragons after everything they've done!
"I fuckin' trusted you!" He keeps yelling, rage his best friend and fury his only guide, "What the fuck Raph!"
Well, Casey supposes his lesson had been learned: Never trust anyone. Not even the guy you love.
| muse interaction
How was he meant t make a choice with those options presented to him, Raph was a lot of things but he knew when he was in a losing battle. He couldn’t just give up he kept trying to fight the Ramon’s but he was running on fumes. How was he meant to stop trying they had Casey! They were going to end Casey he was going to lose Casey. Finally forced to his knees he breathed but every breath in hurt like hell, hardly able to see with one eye swollen up, didin’t stop the guy behind him grabbing at the back of his head and forcing him to look up at Hun. When Raph had the gull to still demand they let Casey go the head honcho Hun, laughed and complimented the turtle on still thinking he was in any position to make that demanded seemed it was enough to earn some favor as they posed a deal with Raphael. He’ll let the turtle walk out of here with Casey, unharmed and safe in exchanged they had to join the Purple Dragons. “Fuck you I’d never go and do that!” Raph spat out right away how could he ever betray Casey in such a way Hun just laughed and told him then he could watch them end Casey. Emerald eyes widen well one did, as his sight darted to where Casey lie. He was far worse than Raph, Hun having someone drag the unconscious Casey his way dropping them to the ground they were so out of it the drop didn’t make them react in the slightest. Hun knelt down and lifted them up to thier knees hands saturated around Casey’s head, one swift motion was all it would take. Raphael knew before Hun even made the threat what they were saying.
“Fine,”
How was Raph meant to make that choice? How was he meant to pick Casey’s death? After everything they had told him how Casey thought about taking it themself before, how they once believed the world would be better with out them. How Raph was his angel who saved him. Ho could Raph do that? He thought he could never betray anyone. He butt head with Leo but when Leo was in a pinch it was Raph there saving him, when Casey needed someone Raph was always there. Raph was far more loyal despite threats bout leavening for good. Not in the same sense of Casey’s statement. So how could he say this was the right choice.
Hun thiigh wasn't done woth this deal of thiers grinning as he leaned in telling the turtle he knew about the boys family life. Thier dad always away with work to support them, his little sister and his sick mother. Raph shook he knew why he was mentioning this all the threat wasn't just on Casey's life his whole family. Sure it wasn't Raph family but...that was Casey family! He knew Angel and helped with her played with her. Knew Casey dad neared worked the souls of his shoes off to get his family by and his mom...was haning I'm best she could.
"You wouldn't!" He yelled but he knew they would he drop his gaze to Casey's face. "I'm sorry." With that both were let go Raph was fast to scarmlbe and grab Casey before he hit the ground. Hun's laugh echos against the bricks of the warehouse. Raph ignore it for now he knew what he just did..he had no right setting Casey's head on his lap, gently brushing fringers along the side of thier face. His hear sank he could have gotten them safe and turned his back on this deal Hun made sure he couldn't. Raph would be dammed if he allowed any harm come Casey's way. Talk about ironic.
---
Raph flinched at the word, but he couldn't deny it. After that day Raph waited till his brothers go close to where he left Casey and took off locking his wounds and turning like a dog to his master reporting to Hun. The newest member of the purple dragons even down to getting that marking branded on to his shell. There was no going back. He had done his best to keep from being found, from ever being seen normally Hun had him else where away from anything that would let him run into the others. This was Huns curetly showing again he knew he would run into Casey this time. Try his best Raph ran. Trying to run as fast as he could but Casey was the most stubborn fool to live. Chasing him.down till he had Raph corner there was no hiding that marking, right there in plain sight.
"You TRAITOR!!"
Raph couldn't deny the word he had betrayed Casey after all.
"I fuckin' trusted you!"
He knows that! That's why this was so fucking painfully! He knew what he did! He went against the one he loved most in thos whole world. He took the one person who bothered to see him for him and stuck around liked him even...loved him. Enough to protect him to protect him. Eyes closed tight that fucking sucked!
"What the fuck Raph!"
What bothered him most though was...Casey couldn't piece a fucking thing together here! Did he think Raph would betray him that easy? He didn't question this at all? Bitting down on his teeth as he spun and turned to lool at Casey finally, "Yeah that right traitor or whatever else you wanna call me your fucking right about me Jones! You were wrong all along about me when you claimed I was worth anything!"
That damn temper of his flared at the thought if this was how it was...then at least Rapheal shoild be allowed to burn the bridge himself. He wouldn't go back he couldn't they would still find a way to hurt Casey...even if they still had done that by making Raph make that choice. Tears stung his eyes as he tried keeping them back reaching for his sais now holding them in hand. Of Casey could so easily think him traitor maybe.
Then maybe what they had wasn't as strong as he once thought. Worst part If Raph knew he still pick this because losing Casey this way was far better than for a world without Casey in it. "You gonna just yell and whine uh? Or you actually gonan put up a good fight for once!" It was easier this way. It was better this way.

a/n: hi guys !! i hope you gets enjoy this one shot it’s just angst and fluff <3 (written at 3 am plz forgive any typos) ,, send in some requests !!
Tumblr media
Bucky was protective of all the things he loved and cared about.
Growing up he was protective of Steve, beating up anyone who bullied the skinny boy, kicking people out of alleys and checking up on his friend.
Then he was protective of his own memories and thoughts, scared of losing them once more and being turned into someone he wasn’t.
He was protective of Sam after he got over his initial annoyance, sending death glares and making snappy comments to anyone who down talked his partner.
Then he met you. You who were sweet and caring, who loved him for who he was and who was the most amazing person he’d ever known. Bucky was very protective of you.
He knew what and who was out there in the world, he knew the lengths people would go to if they ever wanted to hurt him, of course he was protective of you.
Bucky was staying at the compound for a couple nights working on a case with Sam, researching some organization popping up similar to HYDRA. Buckys stomach was in knots, they knew about him, about the winter soldier, could they know about you? what if they tried to hurt you?
He quickly pushed the feelings away, you would be okay, you always were right?
He couldn’t sleep, he had a bad feeling, he needed to be with you. It was nearly 2 am, he didn’t want to bother you.
hi doll can i come over ? cant sleep at the compound :/
You replied quickly, missing your boyfriend despite seeing him only a couple days ago.
of course lover boy
Bucky quickly grabbed some clothes, changing and packing a bag with extra clothes, throwing in a pistol and some knives just in case.
when Bucky arrived he quickly unlocked your door with the key you had given him, locking the door once he had let himself in and headed to your room, seeing you sat up, waiting for him, your eyes bleary.
“sorry for keeping you up doll” he whispered, setting his bag down next to the bed, slipping his shirt and sweats off, slipping under the covers with you, pulling you to his chest softly.
“it’s okay, couldn’t sleep that well anyway, keep hearing noises” you mumbled, body relaxing as you the cold feeling of Buckys metal arm draped around your waist.
“I’m here doll don’t worry” he mumbled, kissing your forehead, focusing on his surroundings, making sure you were safe.
You fell asleep quickly in his arms, breathing steady. Bucky listened to your heartbeat, eyes closing slowly and he let himself fall asleep, holding you a little tighter as he slept.
It was 4:27 am when he heart the jangle of the door being unlocked. Bucky had never shot up faster, slipping out of bed and quickly putting the clothes he had taken off earlier.
“y/n, doll get up now” he spoke quickly, shaking you gently until you woke up.
“hm? what happened?” You slurred, eyes still closed.
“someone’s trying to get in” he spoke softly and your eyes widened, heart racing as you moved quickly, waking up quickly.
“should i hide? what do i do? what if they hurt me? if they kidnap me? am i gonna-” your spoke quickly, panicking.
“doll i would never let anything happen to you. Stay behind me” bucky spoke sternly, his pistol in one hand, handing you a knife.
“Hold this” he spoke, one arm extended behind him, making sure you were safe behind him, the other holding the pistol as the door opened, five men walking into your apartment, armed.
He turned to you, motioning you to stay quiet and to hide in the corner, you quickly followed his directions, holding the knife tightly as you saw Bucky put away his pistol, walking to the living room.
“Breaking and entering is a crime you know” he remarked, the five men turning to look at him, three of them aiming their weapons at him.
“You’re coming with us” one of them spoke and Bucky rolled his eyes.
“No actually I’m not” he snickered, grabbing one mans gun and breaking his nose with the butt, throwing him into two of the other men.
The other two scrambled to shoot at him, he raised his metal arm, blocking the shots and knocking them out with a swift punch, kicking one of them in the chest as they approached him with a pocket knife.
You peeked around the corner, seeing Bucky taking on the five men, fighting them off but struggling at they bombarded him.
You panicked, hiding in the corner again, heart racing as you tried to figure out what to do.
You grabbed the vase to your right, moving quickly and throwing it, causing it to shatter.
The men turned around, Bucky grabbed one of their knives, slicing the back of his thigh, causing the man to fall, shouting in pain.
He kicked one man in the back, sending him out into the hallway, hitting his head on the wall which knocked him out.
There were three men now, two of them constantly ambushing Bucky, letting the third one go to where you threw the vase, your heart rate spiked as you heard the footsteps grow louder, your grip on the knife was tighter, hiding it behind your back.
The man entered the room, his eyes settling in you immediately. He smirked at he approached you, going to grab your arm you shrieked and sliced his arm, running away from the man, but he was quick.
He grabbed the back of your shirt, pulling you to him, causing you to hit his chest with a ‘hmph’
You raised the knife to stab him but he was much stronger, easily grabbing your wrist, squeezing you hand causing you to drop the knife, the pressure making you wince.
“Dont fucking touch her!” Bucky growled, something in him snapping as he the man held your wrist tightly, elbowing you in the face as you tried to get free.
His metal arm whirred, and just like that he punched the man on his right, the vibranium causing his nose to break, he fell to the floor quickly. Bucky ducked, avoiding the second mans punch, grabbing a knife from the floor, flipping it and throwing it into the mans abdomen, making him stumble over in pain.
He made quick strides, eyes dark and jaw clenched, his breathing was ragged and he grabbed his forearm with his metal arm, throwing him against the wall easily.
You stumbled out of his grasp and ran to the other side of the room, breathing heavy and hands shaking, eyes wide as Bucky moved his metal hand to the mans throat, holding him up as he chocked him.
“Don’t ever get near her again” he threatened, voice low and raspy. He let go of the man, coughing as gasping for air, Bucky held him to the wall, pinning his throat once again with the forearm of his metal arm.
“Doll go call Sam and tell him to get here now” he spoke, turning to look at you and you nodded quickly, fumbling for your phone and calling Sam.
“you’ve gone soft soldat” the man spoke and Bucky put more pressure on the mans throat, cutting off his hair supply,
“You touched my girl, the only reason you haven’t joined your buddies as a corpse is because we need information” he growled, releasing some pressure to let the man breathe again.
Sam arrived quickly, getting the man for interrogation and bringing some more backup to help with the scene.
“I talked with stark, he said to head back to the compound with y/n, they’re gonna figure it out for tonight” Sam whispered to bucky.
“take care of her she looks shaken up” Sam frowned. You were sat outside on the bench outside your apartment complex, hot tears streaming down your face as you pictured the events. You could’ve died.
You almost had to kill someone.
Bucky killed someone. He killed five people like it was light work.
You remembered the dark look in the mans eyes, like he was planning to hurt you.
“doll?” Bucky spoke and you jumped, flinching at his words. You relaxed as soon as you saw your boyfriend, shrinking back into yourself.
“lets go to the compound okay?” he whispered and you nodded, moving quickly and looking over your shoulder.
You grabbed his hand, holding it tightly the whole ride back, sticking to him closely, not wanting to be alone. The sun was rising already you were beyond exhausted.
“go shower I’ll wait for you here okay? If you need anything just call my name okay doll?” Bucky spoke softly, kissing your forehead. You nodded as he handed your some of his clothes you could change into.
You showered quickly, wanting to be back in Buckys arms where you knew you were safe.
As you finished changing bucky, handed you a plate of food, telling you to eat something while he showered, you nodded with a smile, not trusting your voice.
He tried showering quickly, knowing how scared you must be. You were putting on a brave face, for him. His heart broke, upset you had to see all that. He was furious at the fact that they, whoever the fuck they were put you in danger. He would make sure they all paid for it.
Bucky changed quickly, heading out only to find you wiping your tears quickly, attempting to quiet your sniffles, your food was untouched.
“baby?” He approached you quietly and you turned away from him.
“m sorry i tried to be strong” you spoke shakily, Bucky frowned, pulling you into his chest as you cried.
“let it out sweetheart it’s okay” he whispered, rubbing your back as you choked out quiet sobs.
“i- he was gonna kill me” you spoke between sobs, holding onto your boyfriend tightly, “i thought i could be strong for you but i couldn’t” you cried and he held your tightly.
He was quiet until your cries died down, only soft sniffles. He handed your some tissues and you thanked him, blowing your nose.
Bucky picked you up, carrying you to bed and holding you closely.
“You don’t have to be strong for me sweets, I’m here for you. I’m going to be here all the time and I’m not leaving anytime soon.” He reassured you, your head resting on his chest.
“you protected me” you mumbled, eyes heavy from exhaustion.
“I’ll always protect you” he replied, pulling you closer to him. “I’m not going to let anyone hurt you” he stated, your heart thumped in your ears, relaxing a little more at his words.
“I love you” you whispered, looking at him and he smiled, kissing your forehead.
“I love you too doll face” he smiled, kissing your cheek before placing a soft kiss on your lips.
“can’t believe you actually took on five guys” you yawned, Bucky furrowed his brows.
“what?” He asked, confused.
“i don’t know, thought you were gonna lose” you mumbled, playing with his fingers.
“doll, you realize I’m a trained assassin? A super soldier? I have a whole metal arm” he stated, almost offended that you thought he would lose.
“Well yeah, but you also cry watching the fox and the hound and are the softest person i know” you replied, furrowing your brows. “I’ve never seen you fight so i wouldn’t know” you shrugged your shoulders.
“i wanted to keep you out of that part of my life, didn’t want you to think any different of me” he shifted, stomach twisting as your stayed quiet.
“i dont” you replied after a few moments, bucky let out a shaky breath. “but” you began, his stomach fell.
“it was kinda hot now that i think about it” you smirked and Buckys mouth fell open.
“wh- y/n!” He smiled at you in surprise and you giggled, looking at him with a small smile.
“i have to find one positive in this okay!” You pouted and he let out a soft chuckle.
“i think you should get the rest sweets” he smiled and you nodded, both of you shifting to get more comfortable, the birds singing outside but you both ignored it.
“y know you could always choke me with the metal arm if you want” you teased and Buckys face flushed red, heart racing.
“y/n!” he scolded you as you smirked, loving to see him flustered.
“gnight lover boy” you giggled and rolled his eyes, kissing the top of your head.
“goodnight doll” he replied, holding you close, protecting you from the world. Nothing was gonna hurt you as long as Bucky was with you.

You Did This To Us - Bakugou Katsuki
Bakugou x f!reader
Warnings: ANGST, cursing, gore, implied sexual activity, infidelity, alcohol abuse, marijuana use, I’m just here to rip y’all hearts out, MDNI
Summary: It was a horrible battle against raging villains and he watched you, his loving wife of 6 years, get pierced right in front of him. It was traumatizing. Your days in the hospital sent him into depression, causing him to make the worst decisions of his life. Decisions he’s regretted the second he’s made them and decisions he’ll forever regret because of what it cost him.
BAKUGOU’S MASTERLIST
He warned you not to come. No that’s not the right word. He begged you to sit your ass down at home where you would be safe. But of course, you were never that kind of hero. You could never sit on the sidelines and watch others fight a battle you knew you could at least try to help in. So with a heavy heart, he reluctantly allowed you to come. His first regret.
Because as the battle died down and victory was in sight, his world was thrown into chaos once more. The villains were down. The wind was settling. The dust was clearing. Katsuki could see you struggling to stand due to exhaustion but saw your smile nonetheless. He gave a breath of relief as he still saw you and jogged over to you. As he did, you noticed him coming your way and your smile only grew. Until it suddenly dropped, along with his own. Out of nowhere, a sharp, metal staff flew threw the air and pierced you right in the stomach. The sight was nauseating as Katsuki covered his mouth, truly shocked. He watched you in horror as you trembled before falling to the ground.
Katsuki looked behind him to find the attacker and saw some stupid, weak ass, good for nothing villain use the last of his power just to cause you harm. Then the world began to shake. No, that wasn’t it. Katsuki was violently trembling as he looked towards the bastard on the ground. Despite him being knocked out cold, that didn’t stop Dynamight from rushing over to him, grabbing him by the neck and blasting him. No one was around. No one would see. His job was safe. He could do this and have no repercussions whatsoever, so why not?
After the petty villain’s death, Katsuk used every ounce of strength in him to run to your body that had blood trickling down the side of your lips. “Y/N!”
You turned your head the best you could to find your husband sobbing his eyes out as he picked you up into his lap. He cradled your head and gently tapped your face, trying to keep you conscious. “Hey! Hey, you’re gonna be okay, alright?! You’re gonna be okay baby I promise.”
“Suki..I’m tired.” You whispered out in a weak voice. Hearing your words stabbed him through the chest.
“I-..I know baby. I know you’re tired. But- but you can’t go to sleep okay? Don’t go to sleep. You have to stay awake- stay alive! Okay?” He pleaded with you. He called out for a medic once he saw the flashing red and blue lights near the scene and held onto your body. He looked to you and saw your eyes becoming null and dense before firing back up again. You were falling in and out of consciousness. You were a fighter and you were trying to stay alive. It made him choke out a sad laugh. “You’re gonna make it, Teddy Bear, I swear.”
“….if I don’t make it-“
“You will, you idiot, don’t say shit like that!”
“But if I don’t…just- Ah-….just know I love you, Suki.”
Katsuki kissed your forehead before hugging you close. “I know, Y/N. I love you too. More than anyone, and more than you’ll ever fucking know.”
He noticed a small smile reach your lips before the medics came. Katsuki was quick to stand with you in his arms, careful and aware of the metal still pierced within you. He handed you off to the professionals who handled you with extra care. They brought you into the ambulance with Katsuki trying to follow in before being stopped.
“The fuck-“
“Dynamight, we can’t allow you to go in.” One said.
“And why the fuck not?! That’s my wife in there!” Katsuki shouted as he pointed to you.
“I understand, but her condition is severe. We can’t have anyone taking up space as we take care of her on her way to the hospital.” He explained.
“Taking up space?! Do you even know who you’re-“
“Sir, please. Let me do my job, let me save your wife’s life.” With that, Katsuki finally nodded in silence as he allowed the medic’s words to echo in his head. “Can you meet us at the hospital?”
Once again, a silent nod. With that, the medic was off and back to your seemingly lifeless body. Katsuki watched as he lead the team and perfectly directed them. He was sure that until you got to the hospital, you were in good hands. That was one guy he could surprisingly trust. He didn’t know him very well or at all for that matter, but he has Dynamight’s trust. Now Katsuki just had to head home and clean himself up before finding you again. Screw getting checked up. He knew his body. He knew he was damn well fucking fine.
As Katsuki opened the door to his house in a rush, he was quick to take a shower just to wash off the dirt and blood. He quickly hopped out and changed into some clothes before looking for his car keys. He found them at his nightstand along with the framed pictures of you and him. One on your wedding night and one celebrating your 3rd anniversary as a married couple. As Katsuki quickly looked through he pictures he smiled with a tear falling down his cheek. He looked around the room and took in all the pictures of you both that decorated your walls and tables.
You both were together since junior high. You were together for 10 years and despite being at the young ages of 23 and 22, he still decided to pop the big questions and propose. You said yes. It was one of the happiest days of his life, next to getting you to be his girlfriend, and meeting you in general. Forget the hero work, he’d trade it all if it meant he got to stay with you. You were always involved when it came to his happiest points in life. And now you were fighting for your life at the hospital. So with that, Bakugou wiped his tears and ran to his car, urgently trying to meet you at the building.
As he pulled up and parked, he pushed passed all the paparazzi and fans that surrounded the entrance due to news of you being there. You can assume how bad it got when everyone took notice of another pro-hero, and that pro being Dynamight no less, showing up. Despite all that, Bakugou forced his way in and made it to the front desk, demanding to know where you were. The poor lady at the desk had to deal with this explosive bomb, only to anger him even more by asking for his ID.
“Are you a fucking idiot?! Look at me! I’m Bakugou fucking Katsuki?! The number one pro fucking hero?!” He screamed at the poor girl.
“I’m- I’m sorry sir! It’s just protocol. H/N is a pro-hero, this is just what has to be done.” She shakily let out. Bakugou grunted before slamming his ID and Hero license onto the table. The lady nodded before handing him a piece of paper that had directions to your room.
Bakugou snatched it and gave her a scowl before running to look for you. Finally making it to one of the highest floors and down the longest hallways, he finally reached your door with 2 doctors already standing out in front of it. Bakugou tried to get through but they stopped him from entering.
“What?! What fucking now?!” He shouted as he stepped back to keep their hands off of him.
“Sir, they’re taking care of your wife just fine, but you have to wait here.” One of the docs demanded. With that, an argument bursted out between the pro and the doctors. The booming voices shook the building until a familiar voice was heard from behind the blonde.
“Dynamight, your wife’s in good care. I made sure my own wife was to be her head doctor.” Bakugou turned around to find the medic that stopped him from going into your ambulance there.
“It’s you.” He spoke aloud. The medic smiled before bowing.
“Daisuke Ena,” the medic said before standing back up straight. “Please trust me when I say your wife will be fine.”
“…and why should I?” Bakugou said after thinking for a minute.
“My wife is the one taking care of her. She is one of the best, if not the best, doctor in the prefecture. That’s not a biased opinion by the way, you can look her up. Daisuke Ami. I ensured it was her who was to see to your wife.” Daisuke said with a calm smile. After looking towards your hospital room, Katsuki turned back to the medic and nodded silently like he did before. But this time, he added a small ‘thank you.’
6 hours. Katsuki sat in one of the seats in front of your hospital room for 6 fucking hours only for them to tell him they cannot allow you visitors. You were in an unstable condition and so they sent Katsuki home. The news was heart wrenching. You always ran through Katsuki’s mind 24/7. He couldn’t stop it. But now, these thoughts were no longer happy and innocent, consisting of ‘damn, I miss her,’ and ‘I wonder what my girl’s doing right now.’ Instead they consisted of ‘Is she gonna be okay,’ and ‘she’s gonna come home, right?’ but most of all ‘I can’t lose her.’
Luckily for Katsuki, he became familiar with medical staff, Daisuke Ena, and was lucky enough to get his number. Daisuke gave him updates on Y/N. Usually, they weren’t so great but the hero appreciated the messages. The text didn’t help in uplifting Katsuki’s spirits though. If anything, they made them worse. In the beginning, Katsuki had hope that you would turn out okay.
But then a week passed.
And then another.
And then two more and before he knew it, you had already been in there for a month. This was the longest month of Katsuki’s life. It sucks to say but in the 13 years that you both have been together, he’s hasn’t done much alone outside of hero work. And even then, he would be lucky enough to work with you. It was always you and him together. Dates? Duh. Grocery shopping? Always you and him. Going for a walk? Why not? He loves spending as much time as he could with you. He loves you. But he hadn’t realize how dependent he became on your presence. In a way, you being gone drove him mad. He knew where you were. You were in the hospital. He could drive her there and see you right now!
No he can’t.
Because he would go and you would be stuck in bed, unconscious and hooked to machines, in a room, behind a door that Katsuki can’t get by. Seeing you isn’t the same as holding you. Speaking to you isn’t the same as conversing with you. There’s no reciprocation from your end. Being around your near lifeless body could only do so much. And so after two more weeks without you went by, Katsuki fell into a depression.
And that sucks because a few days after Katsuki’s depression began, it was okay for him to see you. But you hadn’t woken up yet. He didn’t think he would be able to be near you and your practically dead body. The fact that you were alive didn’t stick to him. He can’t see your beautiful E/C eyes, he can’t hear your honey-like voice..there’s no way you’re alive. The back of his mind still had hope. He knew you were stable. He knew you were gonna be okay..hopefully..but, you weren’t waking up. You were basically dead. Dead, dead, dead. And the more he thought about it, the more realistic the idea came to be.
So he didn’t visit you anymore..something else he’ll come to regret, and because he didn’t visit, he grew mad. Throwing away his life and succumbing to the tempting taste of alcohol. Any he could get. From the cheapest beers in cans to the finest liquors sold from top shelf. In the beginning, it was..controlled, but then he showed up to hero work completely wasted. Kirishima saved his job and forced Katsuki to take a break until he becomes stable again. This only gave Katsuki free time to do whatever the hell he wanted. And what did he want to do? He wanted to become lost.
Lost in alcohol, lost in weed, lost in everything. Lost because he doesn’t have you. Everyday he would spend it drinking and smoking, constantly being cross faded and surprising all his friends when he remained alive after all the substance abuse. Wake up, drink, get ready, drink, sit in the living room, smoke, cry over you, smoke and drink, eat and drink, go to sleep after a smoke sesh, cry over you once more. Eventually, Katsuki had cried so much, the only thing keeping him together was the fact that he had all these pictures of the two of you. Pictures of your smiles, you giving him a kiss, your dates, your accomplishments..he has all these pictures..but none of them would ever be as good as the real you.
Seeing his friend going down this road, Kirishima couldn’t help but try to do everything he could to fix his friend. No matter how many times Katsuki pushed him away, the red head kept going back. And none of his attempts to help his friend worked. Until…
“What now, Shitty Hair?” Bakugou groaned as he opened his door and squinted at the bright day light. He doesn’t remember that last time he’s seen the sun.
“I know you’ve been in a slump-“
“Slump? That’s what you call this? I lost the love of my life, Kirishima. This isn’t a fucking slump.” Bakugou said a little louder this time.
“She’s not gone, Bakugou.” Kirishima said trying to reassure his friend.
“But she’s not here either,” the blonde said as he chewed on his lip. “…look, whatever it is you want from me, I can’t give you. Not until Y/N is back at home, here, with me, safe and alive.”
“I know you feel that way man, but you can’t keep living like this. It’s not good for you. You at least need to get out of your house.” Kirishima said with his hand on the door as Bakugou tried to shut it. The blonde narrowed his eyes at his best friend before Kirishima spoke up again. “We can go wherever you wanna go and do whatever you wanna do, you just gotta get out of this house. Please.”
As Katsuki thought about it, he took a deep sigh before speaking. “Tonight at Hiro’s?”
“Dude, you wanna go to a bar-“
“It’s a club. Better than a bar, better drinks.” Bakugou corrected.
“Are you sure you don’t wanna hit the gym or maybe go to an actual restaurant or something?” Kirishima said, trying to steer his friend clear of alcohol.
“If you want me out of my house, then we go where I wanna go. No exceptions.” Bakugou said with a stern voice. Kirishima thought about it and sighed before giving in.
“Fine. But first, you gotta clean yourself up.” The red head said. The blonde nodded before going to shut his door, only to be interrupted by his friend once again. “With a little help from your best buds.”
As Kiri pushed the door open even more, Kaminari and Sero showed their faces that held kind smiles that only made Katsuki seethe. “No fucking way. This isn’t some girl’s trip and we aren’t doing makeovers.”
“Nobody said anything about a makeover, we’re just gonna help clean ya’ up Kacchan!” Denki smiled.
“I’m a grown man, I don’t need help cleaning up.” Bakugou said with a growl.
“Tell that to your stubble, messy hair, eye bags, and stench.” Sero began. “Seriously man, you smell like liquor and weed. You’re lucky you got that caramel thing going on to save you…barely.”
Before he knew it, his friends had pushed him into his house and quickly directed him to the bathroom. They did a full treatment. Forced him into the shower and made him soak in a tub of scented soaps and bath additions as they cleaned his house. Once they were done they had picked out a clean outfit for him before working on his face. They shaved his stubble, cleaned up his cut, put some eye cream on his bags, gave him some breath spray and changed out a few of his piercings. The full treatment. And when they showed Bakugou the new old him, he couldn’t deny he felt a little better. At least, before they stepped into his room again and he saw a few pictures of you. That’s when the slump in his shoulder returned.
Seeing this, his friends were quick to take him out of the house and head to Hiro’s. Walking in, they sat at the bar, ordered some food and a few drinks, and did whatever they could to keep Bakugou’s mind off of you. And for most of the night, it worked! Bakugou was laughing again, smiling, being his old self. But that’s when Denki decided to risk it.
“We doing shots or what?” The electric blonde asked. Kirishima gave him a look as he spoke.
“Uh, let’s go light on the liquor tonight. We don’t need shots to have a good time, right?” Kirishima said. Bakugou looked at him and chuckled.
“It’s nice of you to look out for me, Shitty hair, but I got this. Trust me.” Bakugou said with a small smile.
“I don’t know, man.” Kirishima said with a pout.
“Don’t be a pussy, Kirishima.” Kaminari smirked. That’s when all of Kiri’s friends, even Bakugou, began to egg him on. Of course, he gave in. Why not? What’s the worst that could happen? Bakugou gets drunk? He’s already been drunk before, nothing too crazy could happen, right?
Wrong. Shots were being downed and the 4 friends were losing themselves. The music was blasting, the lights were blinding, and the friends were…everywhere! Kirishima was probably puking his guts out in the bathroom, Sero and Kaminari were drunk on the dance floor, leaving Bakugou drunk at the bar by himself. Bad idea. The poor blonde was looking at his phone going through pictures of you and him together. He already missed you like crazy when he was sober, now that he’s drunk, that missing has hit full throttle. And then he caught the eye of a snake.
She walked up to the pro-hero with full confidence as she took a seat next to him. “Dynamight.”
Bakugou looked up from his phone with a scowl and blush from the alcohol. “Do I fucking know you?”
“No but-“
“Then get lost.” He said and downed another sip of his whiskey. The woman smirked at his crude behavior.
“Feisty. I like that about you, you know. Always playing hard to get.” She said with a seductive tone.
“I’m not playing hard to get, I’m playing impossible to get because I’m married,” he said and showed his wedding ring. “Happily.”
“You don’t seem too happy right now mister hero. My name’s Leiko..and if you want..I could help take away your troubles.” She offered with a smile as she leaned forward, making sure to expose a little more cleavage than necessary.
“My wife is better than just some quick fuck, so no thanks.” Bakugou said, still not taking his eyes off her, trying to scare her away with a glare that unfortunately she only smirked at.
“Who said I was trying to fuck? Why don’t you talk to me? Vent. Rant. It won’t get your mind off of your wife but it will help clear your head.” She said.
“And why the hell do you think I’m having issues with my wife?!” He asked with a tense voice.
“I walked over here and you were staring down at pictures of her on your phone. Miss H/N is beautiful. You’re a very lucky man.” Leiko said, playing the role of a snake perfectly.
“…I am..” Bakugou agreed before swallowing a gulp. “I’m Uh…I’m not having issues with her or anything. And we’re not fighting either. She’s just..been in the hospital recovering from a battle..I just miss her…”
He didn’t know whether it was the alcohol or if Leiko was just that good at pretending to be nice or both, but for whatever reason she made it easy to clear his mind. She listened well, never putting any input in. She let him speak freely and only spoke up when he looked at her in expectance to. In the moment..she was being a good friend. She allowed him to vent all he wanted about you, about how much he missed you and loves you. And by the end of the night, Katsuki could feel his chest feel a little lighter.
They didn’t sleep together but Leiko left an impression on his drunk self for sure. Maybe even him as a person. He’d remember her as ‘that one nice lady from the club.’ But that was until a few days later when she reached out to him on social media. Leiko was a perfect snake. Knowing exactly what she wanted and exactly how to get it. They spoke for some time online, casual conversations. Most times, it was Leiko asking about you and if you were okay. This went on for some time until their conversations changed. Leiko casually threw in a little flirt every now and then, Katsuki saw and held no reply for it, but didn’t stop her from doing so. Leiko seemed like a good friend. A good way to air out his emotions and issues. So despite her pushy and flirtatious nature, he kept her around. Solely as a friend.
Soon enough, Leiko offered to meet in person once more. At the same club they first met in. ‘Why not?’ Katsuki thought. He had nothing else to do. And so he went. Then he went again. And again. And again. The two became ‘friends’ and Katsuki even brought her back into your shared home where they shared even more drinks. Eventually, the use of marijuana came into play and now the two were cross faded. At least one of them was. Leiko was smart and sneaky. She took less drinks, didn’t inhale the smoke, and basically remained sober. She was in complete control, unlike the blonde hero who sat on the couch beside her. He was now upset and hurt as he thought about you.
“I-..I just miss her so damn much..it fucking hurts at this point.” He said with a whimper in his voice. Being so vulnerable, Leiko took her chance and slid in.
“Well..there’s always one way to take your mind off of harsh things like this.” She softly said with a hand in his lap. She leaned in and Bakugou made no move to stop her and allowed her to continue. She pressed his lips against his and despite it not being reciprocated the first time, she still pushed with it. Katsuki didn’t enjoy it all that much or at all. It was different, it was new, it wasn’t you. It didn’t feel like home. Her lips weren’t soft, they weren’t as plump, they didn’t have the same sweet and addicting taste you did but in a way..Katsuki felt it was what he needed. Her kiss wasn’t like yours. In fact, it was the complete opposite and he hated it. But it didn’t resemble you. When Leiko kissed him, it didn’t remind him of you, and that’s what he thought he needed. So despite not liking the kiss, when she pulled away, he pulled her back. Eventually the kiss grew more intense until it was brought to the bedroom where their night continued in a more sinful manner.
That morning, Katsuki made Leiko leave, angered at what she tricked him into and ashamed of his betrayal. How could he do that to you?! His love of over a decade! When Leiko was gone, Katsuki allowed himself to break down his walls and cry. He cried so hard that morning, more than he’s ever cried before. That morning made him realize his third regret.
Leiko and Katsuki never spoke again..until some days later when Katsuki allowed himself to become extremely drunk once more. He fell into his obsessive thoughts of you and felt the pain come again. Wanting to erase the hurt, he reached out to Leiko and asked her to come over and distract him again. He needed to feel something that wasn’t you. And so Leiko happily went over that night. And a few more nights because Katsuki felt the pain again for a few more nights. As Leiko kept going, she noticed the house loss more and more touches of you. Katsuki flipped his pictures of you in his bedroom so that they wouldn’t see his nights of betrayal and he moved his clothes out of your shared closet so he wouldn’t be reminded and hit with your addicting scent that lingered on your clothes. Leiko smiled, feeling like a victor as Katsuki slept beside her in your bed on your side. The two would have quite a surprise in the morning.
Katsuki was awake and was still feeling the shame. He didn’t like sleeping around with Leiko but he liked the way it distracted him from his painful thoughts of you. Every morning after a night spent with her was the same. The two would wake up, she would put on one of his shirts despite his protests and get ready in his bathroom as he sat in the living room downstairs. But this morning had a little surprise twist.
As Katsuki sat in the living room with his head down, the doorbell rung. Growling in annoyance at one of his friends’ presence, he reluctantly went to open the door with a sour mood. “WHAT?!”
“Umm, excuse me. Who the fuck do you think you are talking to your wife like that?” You asked with attitude. As Katsuki adjusted his eyes to the light and his ears caught the sound of his favorite song, his eyes widened and his smile rose.
“Y-Y/N?” He asked in complete shock. He saw you alive, healthy, smiling, looking naturally beautiful right in front of him.
“Missed me, Suki?” You asked with a giggle. Bakugou pushed the door open to pull you in for the tightest hug as he lifted you off the ground.
“YOU’RE BACK!” He cried out. He held you tight and shut the door with his foot as he dropped onto the couch with you on top of him. He held you close to him as he cried into your neck. “You’re really back! Fuck- I missed you so much Y/N! I fucking love you- I’ve been a mess without you..shit!”
His tears were everlasting as they fell from his ruby eyes that you missed so much. You smiled as you wiped them away with your thumbs and the soft touch he’s craved and missed so much. You pecked his nose to calm him down as you allowed your hands to get lost in his blonde hair. “Hey, hey, it’s okay. I’m here, Suki. I’m back.”
Katsuki still held tears in his eyes and was shaking in happiness as you remained oh so close, giving him the warmth he needed after so many months. “Tell me you love me, Y/N.”
“I love you Bakugou Katsuki.” You happily said. Your husband teared up once more, so happy he was able to hear those words from you again, before pulling you in for a passionate kiss. A kiss that brought him back to life. He took in your scent and the way you tasted illegally sweet. He let his hands roam your body in a loving way until they found way into your soft H/C locks, trying to bring your head closer to his despite your lips already being in contact. You pulled away with him chasing after your lips, needing to push him back a little to allow yourself to breath. “Relax Suki.”
He scoffed at that. “Relax? I just got you back, you’re not calling the shots today princess, that’s all me.”
You both have a little laugh as you tucked in to cuddle for a small time. He missed this. This is what he needed. This is what he’s been dying for. To have you back in his arms, alive, healthy, and present. He needed this for so long and now that he has it, he feels whole again. After spending some cuddle minutes on the couch, you rose up in need for a glass of water. As you tried to walk away, Katsuki tugged on your arm to try and bring you back to him, only to have you calm him down. “I’m just getting some water, Suki.”
He reluctantly let you go, allowing himself to smile like an idiot, glad to be around you again. As you searched for a glass in the cabin, that’s when Bakugou detected the sound of someone turning the shower off. And that’s when his eyes popped. His betrayal to you. The multiple times he betrayed your love and literal proof of it standing in his shared home with you. That’s when he began to silently panic. You were gonna find out. You were gonna find out he had been acting like a sleeze behind your back and you were gonna be pissed. Heartbroken. Downright furious and you had every right to be, but Katsuki wouldn’t allow it. He knew once you found out, you would leave again. But you can’t leave! He just got you back! You’re not allowed to leave when you finally came back to him. He’s finally happy again because you’re back! You can’t leave now!
“Hey, Baby, don’t you wanna see your friends?” Katsuki asked as he walked over to you. You had finished your glass and placed it down on the island when your husband came over asking an absurd question.
“Suki, they were all there when I left the hospital. They were the ones who bought me these new clothes. Aren’t they cute?” You asked with the smile he loved oh so much.
“Uh- yeah, yeah they look amazing on you Teddy Bear. Umm..if they were all with you, why didn’t they tell me you were coming back home?” He asked as you wrapped your arms around his neck and his went right to home on your waist.
“I wanted to surprise you!” You giggled. “How’d I do?”
“Really fucking good, you little dumbass. But why don’t we get some fresh air? Yeah?” He said as he tried pulling you to the door.
“What why? I was just out there.” You said as you stopped in your tracks. “Besides, I heard you didn’t visit me much in the hospital ya’ big meanie. I wanna spend as much time with you as I can.”
“I was gone because I couldn’t stand to see you like that, baby.” He said with a whimper.
“Yeah I figured. Which is why I’m not too mad, but you still gotta make it up to me with cuddles, so let’s go!” You said and tried pulling him in the direction of your bedroom but he planted his feet into the ground.
“We can still spend time together outside the house, Teddy Bear,” Katsuki said enthusiastically, trying to keep you away from the room that for sure reeked of sex and held scattered clothes of his own and another woman’s.
“But I want to spend time at home with you,” you pouted. Bakugou felt his heart melt at the cute face you pulled and brought you closer to him.
“I know, I wanna spend time with you too but I’ve been in the house for so long, I think I need to get out of here.” The blonde said while being aware and on the lookout for Leiko.
“Well I’ve been out of the house for so long and I know I need to be in it. Besides, as your previously injured wife, what I say goes.” You said with sass and a smile. Katsuki laughed, loving your little attitude but still worried of what you may find out.
“Baby please, can we just go?” He begged as he held your soft hands in his.
“Why are you so adamant on leaving, Suki?” You asked
“That’s because he doesn’t want you to find out about me.”
Your body jumped at the sound of a new voice and you looked at Katsuki’s face, noticing it scrunching in fear, before you turned around to find another woman wearing nothing but Katsuki’s shirt. The same shirt you’ve worn a thousand times over. You could feel your heart clenching in pain but you stood your ground no less.
“Who are you?” You asked as you dropped your hands from your husband’s. You heard his little whine at the loss of your touch as he reached out to hold into your arm but you gently pushed him off.
“Y/N-“
“Oh come on, H/N. Don’t be in denial. I bet you already have an exact idea on who I am.” Leiko said with a smirk as she looked at you. You turned to your husband with raised brows and a face of anger as you glared at him. You looked back at her and bit your lip before smiling.
“Were you in it for the long haul?” You asked Leiko, wondering if she really wanted Katsuki or if she was just getting pleasure out of this.
“Definitely not. I just came for a quick fuck every now and then. Wanted to get a feel of what it was like getting dicked down by a big shot pro-hero.” She said casually.
“Did you know he was married?” You asked.
“Yeah but he didn’t seem to care so neither did I.” She said. This made your blood boil a bit and you wanted to cry so damn bad, but you refused to allow your whore of a husband and this stranger to see you break. You huffed before smiling again.
“You can take your leave now.” You kindly said. Leiko looked at you in confusion.
“You’re not mad?” She asked. Katsuki had the same thought running through his mind as his heart raced at this conversation happening right here right now.
“Oh I’m furious. But am I really supposed to be mad at some stranger who’s content with being a home wrecker? ‘Cuz I feel like most of my anger should be directed to the man-whore behind me.” You said, never looking Katsuki’s way.
“Y/N, please-“
“I’m not speaking to you yet.” You said calmly, still not looking at him. You didn’t have to turn around to know there were tears in your husband’s eyes. Leiko smiled before standing a little taller.
“Well then, I’ll be taking my leave,” she said and took off the big shirt and throwing it onto the couch, leaving herself in her underwear. “Am I expected to be back for another visit?”
“You can come back as many times as Katsuki asks. As far as I’m concerned, he’s a single man again.” You said with a laugh.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Katsuki asked with a break in his voice. Leiko laughed too before nodding and walking back to the bedroom and gathering her things. You walked silently to sit on the couch with Katsuki following you. “Y/N, what the fuck do you mean I’m single. I’m still your husband!”
You remained silent as you looked at him with a sarcastic smile. You said nothing as you waited for Leiko to return. “Say something!”
Finally, Leiko walked down the stairs, fully dressed, and looked to you before taking her leave. You smiled at her before speaking. “So..I don’t want him anymore. Do you?”
“No I’m good. Anybody’s good for a fuck but I don’t date cheaters.” Leiko said with her hand on the knob.
“I’m not a fucking cheater!” Katsuki shouted at her as he had tears dripping down his face. She gave him a dry laugh before opening the door.
“Take a look around Bakugou. You’re not a cheater?” She asked before walking out and shutting the door, leaving the two of you in the broken home. Silence passed and all that could be heard was Katsuki’s shaky breath. You then stood up, gaining his attention, and tried walking to your bedroom before Katsuki stopped you by holding onto your arm. Tight.
“Where the fuck are you going, Y/N?” He asked as he cried angrily. You tried to shake him off of you to no avail.
“I’m leaving you fucking idiot. If you haven’t noticed, you cheated. You were disloyal. You allowed some stranger into our home, into our bed, just to get your dick wet.” You said with an angry but calm tone.
“She wasn’t a stranger.” Bakugou said trying to defend himself. You laughed and stepped to face him.
“Oh really? Tell me one damn thing you know about her.” You asked. As Katsuki thought about it..he really didn’t know anything about her. Fuck- he didn’t even know her family name. All he knew was that her name was Leiko. They were speaking for a month and in that entire month, Katsuki only ever talked about himself. She never gave up any information about herself. All she wanted to do was get to know Katsuki and get in his pants. She really was a stranger and he just tossed away his entire relationship for some whore. His silence gave you your answer. “That’s what I thought.”
You tried walking away again before he ran to stand in front of you. “Y/N! Please! Just listen, okay? I was depressed because you were gone!”
“And that’s your excuse for cheating on me?!” You shouted.
“No! But- but it hurt me to even think about you in that hospital bed! I couldn’t even face you without feeling like I was dying! And then that fucking snake came and she distracted me and kept my thoughts away from you. She kept the pain away. I know that that’s not excuse for what I did but please try to understand why I did it!” He begged as he cried.
“I will never understand! Because I could never do what you did! If you were in the hospital, close to death, I would’ve been by your side every second of every day! Yes I would’ve felt all the pain and depression you did but I wouldn’t want to distract myself from it! Because at least then I would be thinking about you, and worrying about you, and caring about you, and loving you because you’re my husband Katsuki! I wouldn’t ever want to not think about you!” You shouted in anger and hurt as you allowed a few tears to fall. This urged Katsuki to cup your face in his hands and wipe away your tears.
“I’m so sorry, baby. Please, can we just move pass this? Please.” He said softly as he pressed his forehead to your own before you shoved him off.
“Get away from me!” You shouted, breaking his heart as he stumbled back. “After everything we’ve been through, you go and do this to me?! AFTER EVERYTHING?!”
“IM SORRY! PLEASE! I CAN’T TAKE BACK WHAT I DID BUT YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE ME!” He shouted back.
“WHO THE FUCK SAYS I HAVE TO FORGIVE YOU, BAKUGOU?!” You said, emphasizing the use of his family name. The name that you also held.
“Don’t call me that, baby, please.” He whimpered.
“DON’T FUCKING CALL ME THAT BAKUGOU! WE’RE DONE!” You shouted and walked away to your room with him following you. He kept spewing apologies up until you opened the bedroom door. It was a horrible mess and the stench of sex filled the air. You covered your mouth and nose as tears pricked your eyes before walking in to open your closet, disappointed as you noticed all the pictures of you two were flipped to be hidden. When you opened the doors, you didn’t find your clothes. “Where the fuck is my stuff, Bakugou.”
“I’m not telling you because you’re not leaving me, Y/N!” He said as he tried to hug you from behind before you pushed him off again.
“I’m not staying here! Tell me where my stuff is so I can leave!” You demanded.
“Like hell I will! We haven’t even had a full talk about this! You can’t just leave!” He said. You watched as tears fell down his face which only made you even more angry. He was crying? He did this! This is all his fault! How can he be the one upset?! “Y/N please, I’ll get on my fucking knees and beg you to stay if it’s what it takes but you can’t go! We’ve been together for 13 years! 13! Even before UA-“
“And you threw all that away when you decided to sleep with someone else.” You said calmly. You walked out of the room in search for your clothes as he followed and continued to speak with sobs breaking apart his sentences.
“Y/N please! I- I can fix this! You don’t have to go! You can stay and we can be happy, just like we’ve always been! Just like we were a few minutes ago before that bitch walked in and ruined everything!” He cried making you turn around in a snap.
“She didn’t ruin anything Katsuki. When you allowed her to come into your life and into our home, that’s when you fucked up. You did this to us. You ruined everything.” You said before continuing your search.
“T-Tell me what you want Y/N! I’ll make it happen! I’ll do anything- I’ll give you the fucking world! As long as you stay!” He begged. You approached the guest room in silence and Bakugou grew frantic as he blocked you from going in. “Please- don’t.”
“All my stuff is in there, isn’t it?” You asked, already knowing the answer and only having it confirmed when he remained silent. “Get out of my way.”
Bakugou shook his head as he kept the door block as you tried to pry your way through. Growing frustrated, you used a small amount of your quirk to blast him through the door, having him groan in pain as he hit the floor and watched you find your clothes in the guest room closet. You began packing your things and Bakugou was quick to stand and take everything you put in your bag out. “Stop it!”
“No! You’re staying with me! You’re not leaving me Y/N- I won’t lose you again!” He said as he tossed your bag across the room. You watched it go and stood in disbelief at his childish antics.
“Heh, you know what? Whatever, keep all the clothes. Maybe you’ll gift it to the next girl you decide to bring back here.” You said with attitude.
“I’m not bringing anybody else through those doors! I ONLY WANT YOU Y/N!” He shouted.
“Doubtful. Keep it, burn it, regift it, I don’t care. With my salary I can buy myself a new wardrobe and a new apartment. Far. Away. From you.” You said and walked out of the room. As you tried to exit the house, Katsuki pulled you back into his arms as you struggled in his grip with your face smushed against his chest.
“Please! Please tell me what you want! I’ll do anything! I’ll buy you anything! We’ll do whatever you want- Y/N I’ll even quit my job! Just please don’t go! Please forgive me!” He cried before you harshly pushed him off to reveal your sobbing face.
“I WANT TO LEAVE! BECAUSE I DONT WANT THIS ANYMORE KATSUKI!” You shouted before wiping your eyes and bringing your voice down. “I wanted my husband there with me at the hospital! I wanted him to be the first face that I saw when I woke up! But you couldn’t even give me that! Instead, you were in our home in our bed with some random person you found wherever having sex with her despite the fact that you’re a married man! …I was in a fucking hospital fighting for my life and my husband was too busy cheating on me, trying not to think about me…..I want to leave Katsuki.”
“….I can’t let you do that Y/N…I’m sorry. But I can’t do this without you.” He cried as you listed all his shortcomings. “I’ll give you whatever-“
“I don’t want material things!” You shouted in exhaustion. “I wanted your loyalty and love!”
“And you have that!”
“We wouldn’t be in this situation if I did!” You said. “I’m leaving, Katsuki. And not you or anybody else in this fucking world is going to stop me. If you try and trap me here I will break down these walls myself and get out. If you force me to stay I will do whatever it takes to get away from you. I’m not staying with you. So we’re done. And we’re getting a divorce, whether you like it or not.”
As you walked to the door you could hear his heart breaking cries as you opened the exit. “Y/N please. I don’t want this, I waited months for you to come home to me…I need you.”
“When are you gonna realize Katsuki? This is your fault. You did this to us.”
And with that, you shut the door on the house, the home, the relationship, and him. And it was all his fault.

Marinette was officially done with Hawk Moth interfering in her life. She could take him interrupting school, or her time out with friends (which had become increasingly awkward as of late anyway), or even her moments of being bogged down with projects.
But interrupting her one-on-one time with Luka? First their movie date and now their moment of getting ice cream together? Absolutely not.
As far as she was concerned, this meant war. If Hawk Moth wanted to shove himself into her life like a nosy busybody who couldn’t go five seconds without trying to take away her means of happiness, then fine.
Two could play at that game, and she was feeling petty enough to make the next move. She’d had to mull over the subject for a while to figure anything out, not to stop him for good exactly, but at least put an annoying dent in his plans, much like he always did with her.
She had an idea by evening, and got to put it into action right after school. She was saying good-bye to a few of her friends, and had hopped onto the back of Luka’s bike afterwards, her hands carefully on his waist while he rode off along the sidewalk.
A flicker of black and purple caught her eye, and instead of the usual dread or panic, she grinned to herself.
“Luka! Stop!”
He stiffened, but obeyed, putting full force on the brakes and screeching the bike to a sudden halt.
“What’s wrong?” he asked in concern.
Hurriedly getting off the bike, she took off her helmet and handed it to him. “I’m sorry, will you wait here for a few minutes? I promise I’ll be right back!”
Knowing she had to be quick, she didn’t wait for him to reply. She placed a hand on his shoulder, leaning in to place a long, meaningful kiss on his cheek.
If he had prepared a reply, the kiss stopped it, and she ran off to the nearest hiding place while he stared blankly ahead at nothing.
After ducking into an alley and taking a quick look around to ensure it was safe, Marinette opened her purse to let out Tikki, as well with the other kwami necessary for her plans: Kaalki.
“Let’s do this!”
— — — — —
Soon after Pegabug had entered the scene, giving chase to the akuma, Chat Noir wasn’t far behind. Part of her questioned how he’d gotten there so soon, but she squashed the thought just as quickly as it’d come so as to not dwell on the potential identity questions.
“Love the new look, m’lady. What’s the occasion?” he asked in his usual flirtatious tone. “Or did you dress up just for me?”
“Not now, Chat,” she replied shortly, adjusting her sunglasses as she neared the butterfly in question. “I need you to do something for me.”
“Of course! Anything.”
“When I give the command, grab the akuma.”
“I—” He blanked. “Grab it?”
“I’ll explain later,” she assured. Squinting at the butterfly, which seemed to be on a straight path, she felt the moment hit like the epiphany of her Lucky Charm. “Now!”
Slightly panicked, but not asking anything more, Chat Noir sped forward. He dropped to all fours to pick up speed, then leapt for the butterfly. In a swift motion, he trapped the akuma between his hands, and Pegabug reeled her hand back as she felt the charge of her power.
“Voyage!”
The portal launched from her hands, manifesting right in front of Chat Noir. He went through and she followed behind him.
On the side of the portal, she landed politely on her feet while he crashed onto the floor, though he managed to keep the akuma contained in his hands.
A startled Wang Cheng stood up from his chair, looking between the two in surprise, but he calmed himself soon after. “It is time?”
“Yes,” she confirmed, walking over and helping Chat up due to his inability to use his hands.
He shook himself of the impact, then glanced at Wang, Pegabug, and finally the night sky out the window. “M’lady, if he means time to explain why you catapulted us to China, then I’m all ears.” His fake cat ears twitched in emphasis.
“Not exactly, but we can do that too,” she assured. Closing her eyes, she whispered a quick, “Kaalki, divide,” to allow the horse part of her transformation to drop. Pulling out her yoyo to grab a treat, she offered it to Kaalki to let her recharge before addressing the issue properly.
“Chat, you remember Wang,” she stated, walking alongside Wang as they traversed the rooms of the house. Hearing Chat’s footsteps behind her, she continued, “We saved him after he was akumatized into Kung Food.”
“Yeah, I remember,” Chat confirmed, still just as puzzled as before.
“Well, he’s the only one I know who’s out of the country.” She grinned slyly. “And out of Hawk Moth’s radius.”
Chat tilted his head. “Radius?”
Ladybug waited to answer until she saw the little habitat that had been set up, exactly as she’d asked for. Wang opened it for her and stepped aside, then gestured to it, which gave Chat enough of a hint to approach and outstretch his arms so they were inside the mini enclosure.
He hesitated, but released the akuma and recoiled quick enough for Ladybug to snap the habitat shut, thus sealing the butterfly inside.
“The butterfly miraculous has limits,” she explained, pointing to the trapped akuma, “and this is one of them. Hawk Moth can’t sense or do anything with this akuma from this distance, and he’s only allowed one at a time.”
“Meaning...?”
“Meaning that he can’t make another until this one breathes its last breath.” She tossed a grateful smile Wang’s way. “So please take good care of it, sir.”
Wang bowed his head in respect. Chat, meanwhile, was gaping.
“Wait, so that means—?”
“It might not be long,” she admitted, “because we don’t know how old this butterfly is, but—” She raised a finger as she made her point. “—as long as it lives and kept in that habitat, he can’t akumatize anyone.”
With a confident walk, she made her way back to the room they’d originally come from.
Chat, still in a state of shock, followed after and kept pace with her. “What about sentimonsters?”
Ladybug shrugged. “Mayura can still send them if she wants, but it’ll go just as badly.”
“Why?”
“For one, sentimonsters follow the orders of the one with the object, and no akuma means that Hawk Moth doesn’t have any control. For two, if I can teleport the feather away before Mayura can de-power it herself, then she’s stuck with no sentimonster for even longer than the akuma. Feathers take a few months to wear out, and I think they know that. Once they realize the risks, I don’t think we’ll be seeing any sentimonsters all by themselves.”
Stopping at the spot where she’d made the portal originally, she tossed a smile Kaalki’s way and outstretched her hands accordingly, calling upon her transformation once again with, “Tikki, Kaalki, unify!”
Chat didn’t even flinch at the flash of light, staring at the floor instead as he scratched his head. “But—uh—” He paused, needing a moment to come up with more questions. “what if Mayura makes her own sentimonster again?”
“Then I’m sending it to the moon,” she answered nonchalantly. “If they want to waste my time like this, then I’m not messing around anymore. Either they come fight me themselves or I’m keeping every akuma and feather I can here, where they can’t do anything with them.”
He opened his mouth, perhaps to throw out another argument, but she’s stumped him. His lips pursed as he seemed deep in thought, which evolved into a pout as he asked, “So, I guess we won’t be spending as much time together?”
“What?” Pegabug raised a brow, thrown off by that being his concern.
“A-ah—” He seemed to catch himself, waving his hands in defense. “Nothing, m’lady! You’re a genius, as always, and we still have patrols!”
“...Thanks,” she said neutrally, her mind on anything but him even as he tried to flirt.
After all, there was someone waiting for her back in Paris.
— — — — —
“Luka!”
Marinette beamed in both gratefulness and relief as she saw Luka still in the same spot as before, and even in the same position as well. She ran up to him, grabbing his shoulder again with one hand while she took her helmet back with the other.
She kissed his cheek again, a little more lightly than before but with just as much affection. The contact seemed to bring him back to life, his smile returning to his face as he settled his hands back on the bike’s handles.
“Did everything work out alright?” he asked.
“Mhm. I was just—” She paused, a lie almost reflexively coming out of her mouth before she settled on the closest thing to the truth she could, deciding that he deserved as much. “—taking care of something. Hopefully it works out.”
“Knowing you, I bet it will,” he assured with a fond look.
She beamed at him and put her helmet back on, settling herself behind him on his bike so her hands could rest on his waist again. She heard the ‘clink’ of the kickstand as Luka nudged it up with his heel, and then they were off again.
Happy thoughts of Hawk Moth screaming in his lair as he discovered her plan slowly transitioned into blissful imaginings of all the uninterrupted dates she could go on now. Out of sight, out of mind, just as Hawk Moth deserved to be.
