#super speed v. telepathy
ewanmitchellcrumbs · 7 months
Note
So i have gotten another au idea for Aemond (this one being a sort of crossover with gen v/the boys) being a jaded supe in Godolkin University.
And no i want to ask you dear ange
What superpower do you think the ewanverse characters would have and whether they would be genuine good guys or a homelander type of asshole?
I know for sure Ettore would make Homie piss his inflated suit.
Oooohhhh, interesting. Okay, I will give this a shot.
Abraham - super strength - the ability to bend steel, lift cars, etc. He'd be chaotic good - a hero, but causes Marvel superhero levels of destruction in his wake.
Aemond - fire powers - can harness the power of the element of fire through his fingertips and manipulate fire around him. Chaotic evil - extremely dangerous.
Billy Taylor - telepathy - can read minds. Ultimately useless in a battle situation, but a handy asset to have on side. Neutral good.
Billy Washington - telekinesis - can move, warp and even blow things up with his mind. Chaotic good - kind of an antihero, wants to do good, but keeps fucking it up and his powers make him volatile.
Ettore - mind control - can bend people to his will by robbing them of theirs. Neutral evil - not causing chaos like Aemond does, but incredibly sinister nonetheless.
Genyen - shapeshifting - can make himself look like anyone or anything in order to evade detection. Lawful evil - not doing anything too heinous, but will definitely use his powers to steal.
Osferth - similar powers to Starlight in the Boys; can use electric currents to produce blasts of light and sparks that can incapacitate certain opponents, and can destroy anything that uses electricity with pinpoint accuracy. Lawful good.
Tom Bennett - super speed - similar to A Train and The Flash. Usually uses it to run away from one night stands and after he's caused mischief. An anti-hero. Chaotic good.

Again
“For what it’s worth,” the villain began, ignoring the hero’s anxious struggles. “You did exceed my expectations.”
Something whirred to life in front of the villain.
“But then again, I did tell you I’d find you, no matter where you ran off to.”
“What is that?” The hero asked, trembling hands giving away their fear.
Even though the villain had their back to the hero, they still smiled, mostly for their own benefit.
“You know how much I like to collect things.” Lights flickered when the villain spoke, an uneasy atmosphere growing. “This is just to help make you a bit more collectible.”
“I’m not some thing you can put on a shelf.”
That had the villain’s attention. They had whipped around, and began to stalk towards the detained hero. It only made the hero shake that much more.
“When did I say you were?” The villain’s teeth were clenched together, angered by the hero’s remark.
Although they were never eye level, the hero always made sure the villain knew they were on the same playing field. Now, however, the hero couldn’t ignore the villain’s height, they couldn’t find any way to make it even.
“You never said I wasn’t.” It was the crack in the hero’s voice that finally got the villain to notice.
“You-” they looked the hero up and down, taking in the obvious hints. “You’re scared?”
When there was no answer, the villain just laughed.
“What exactly do you think I’m going to do to you?” They asked. “Oh, oh, that’s so cute. But don’t worry, pain isn’t part of the agenda.”
“I don’t believe you.” The hero spat, trying to even their breathing.
“Quiet, now, please.” The villain commanded, walking back over to their work station. “I need to concentrate.”
For whatever reason, the hero complied.
They had a few run ins with pain, and it always passed, no matter how unbearable it felt. However, this villain made the hero on edge, and being in their grasp was downright horrifying. Pain by their hand seemed potentially lasting.
The villain mumbled something, folding their hands behind their back.
Panic coursed through the hero.
Think, think, think, think, think.
The ring.
There was a ring on the hero’s finger, holding a small gemstone. It wasn’t sharp, but it was jagged, and jagged could get a small rip in the fabric holding their wrists together.
Maneuvering it hurt as the hero bent their hands uncomfortably to the fabric.
The jagged piece was weak, and for a moment the hero feared their plan wouldn’t work, despite how much effort they were putting into creating the smallest of tears, then they felt it, something had gone lax.
They struggled, aching fingers trying to find the tear, trying to further rip it.
Don’t fret, pet. I’m almost finished.” The villain’s voice encouraged the hero further.
With a final pull, the fabric burning into the hero’s wrist snapped.
The hero didn’t delay, sprinting as fast as the could, and considering their ability, it was fairly fast. Freedom was so close, so reachable the hero could’ve cried. They wanted to be rid of the villain, and they would be, in just a few more strides.
Something hard hit them, mentally.
The villain whistled as they strolled leisurely towards the frozen hero.
“Come on, hero.” The villain drawled. “I know you.”
“You don’t know anything.” They said through grit teeth.
So close.
The villain’s voice dropped dangerously low. “I know many things about you. I take great care in my knowledge about you.” They circled around the hero, stopping in front of them. “There’s been a mental track on you since the day we met. Perks of being a telepath.”
No.
“It’s the worst otherwise. I don’t like people, their thoughts.”
The hero took note of what was in the villain’s hands, a band of sorts, metal that could be placed upon someone’s head.
“You have the calmest thoughts, and the hardest to control.” The villain scowled. “Just this is taking so much.”
“Then don’t work too much, let me go.” The hero snapped.
“Even now, with your racing heart, your thoughts are oh so collected.” The villain closed their eyes briefly, only to open them and smile. “You think you can manipulate me, you think you’ll get out of this.”
The villain positioned whatever contraption they created, reaching it over the hero’s head.
“Don’t.” The hero pleaded.
“You’ll still be you, don’t worry.” Their counterpart assured, nimble fingers near the hero’s temple. “Just a bit more for me.”
Something seeped deep inside the hero’s mind, something not entirely their own. Soft was the best way to describe it. The hero felt the villain release their hold on them, but they didn’t want to run.
Why would they?

Aquaman
Aquaman (Arthur Curry) is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the character debuted in More Fun Comics #73 (Nov. 1941). Initially a backup feature in DC's anthology titles, Aquaman later starred in several volumes of a solo comic book series. During the late 1950s' and 1960s' superhero-revival period known as the Silver Age, he was a founding member of the Justice League. In the 1990s' Modern Age, writers interpreted Aquaman's character more seriously, with storylines depicting the weight of his role as king of Atlantis.
The character's original 1960s animated appearances left a lasting impression, making Aquaman widely recognized in popular culture and one of the world's most recognized superheroes. Jokes about his wholesome, weak portrayal in Super Friends and perceived feeble powers and abilities have been staples of comedy programs and stand-up routines, leading DC at several times to attempt to make the character edgier or more powerful in the comic books. Modern comic book depictions have attempted to reconcile these various aspects of his public perception, with many versions often casting Aquaman as serious and brooding, saddled with an ill reputation, and struggling to find a true role and purpose beyond his public side as a deposed king and a fallen hero.
Aquaman has been featured in several adaptations, first appearing in animated form in the 1967 The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure and then in the related Super Friends program. Since then he has appeared in various animated productions, including prominent roles in the 2000s series Justice League and Justice League Unlimited and Batman: The Brave and the Bold, as well as several DC Universe Animated Original Movies. Actor Alan Ritchson also portrayed the character in the live action television show Smallville. In the DC Extended Universe, actor Jason Momoa portrays the character in the films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, Aquaman, and Aquaman 2.
> Powers and abilities
Aquaman's most widely recognized power is the telepathic ability to communicate with marine life, which he can summon from great distances. He once stated that this power more relied on encouraging and compelling the subject rather than full control, citing piranha as a species he has trouble commanding under any circumstances due to their ruthlessness and hunger. Although this power is most often and most easily used on beings that live in the sea, Aquaman has at times demonstrated the ability to affect any being that lives upon the sea (e.g., sea eagles), or even any being evolved from marine life (e.g., humans and some aliens). Per the 2011 DC continuity reboot, The New 52, Aquaman's telepathy has been greatly downplayed: acknowledging that most marine life does not possess enough intelligence to carry a meaningful telepathic communication, Aquaman is now stated to simply add compulsions and needs in the mindset of aquatic life, compelling them to do his bidding by a subtle altering of their cerebellum. It is later revealed during DC Rebirth/Drowned Earth that Arthur's ability to speak with the ocean comes from a metaphysical energy known as the Life Force, a vast ocean of genesistic power which enables him to connect with any and all forms of sentience within the cosmos, even from across realities. Through it, Arthur could also use its power to revert lost forms and assert varying consciousnesses within, like making the human shell of Mother Salt's monster daughter, the Cailleach, subservient to her human host's will; even restoring the true forms and divine powers of long-forgotten ocean gods while calling out to them from through his aquatelepathy.
The character has a number of other superhuman powers, most of which derive from the fact that he is adapted to live and thrive in the harshest of underwater environments. He has the ability to breathe underwater and possesses a superhuman physique strong enough to withstand attacks from superhuman opponents and resist machine gun fire. Aquaman frequently displays feats of super-Atlantean (the average Atlantean can lift/press approximately two tons) and superhuman strength. While not on par with Superman and Wonder Woman, he has proven capable of leaps up to six miles. He can swim at extremely high speeds, capable of reaching speeds of 3,000 meters per second (10,800 km [roughly 6,700 miles] per hour) and can swim up Niagara Falls. He can see in near total darkness and has enhanced hearing, granting limited sonar.
Although Aquaman can remain underwater indefinitely without suffering any ill effects, he grows weak if he remains on land for extended periods. However, when Batman invented Aquaman's water suit, he was able to walk on land for an indefinite amount of time and was no longer vulnerable to a "dehumidifier". This weakness was later removed from continuity in 2011, establishing that he grew up on land before learning of his Atlantean heritage, but he still runs the risk of dying by dehydration within incredibly hostile environments. Aquaman had also been bestowed an ability he never showcased before, given to him by an old Sea Monarch, granting him the ability of unaided flight using his own power.
Before The New 52, the Trident, granted by Poseidon to the rightful ruler and protector of the seas, was indestructible and a very powerful melee weapon, which Aquaman wielded with unmatched skill. Apart from its power as a melee weapon, the Trident also had the power to manipulate water, fire bolts of powerful energy and act as a focus to amplify the magical power of others, most notably Tempest. In The New 52, the Trident comes in multiples; one belonging to the aforementioned sea god, and another which is part of a collection of seven very powerful Atlantean magical items, forged by the first king of Atlantis who calls himself 'The Dead King'. initially thought to be the most powerful weapon of the set, with the possible exception of the recently discovered seventh item, the Trident is completely indestructible and able to hurt even the most powerful of opponents, such as the evil New God Darkseid. In one instance, the Trident was shown glowing with magical power when Black Manta used the rest of the items to discover the hidden seventh one. In The New 52, Poseidon's trident has displayed the power to summon tsunamis and deluges, call down thunder and lightning, project and control ice, move landmasses, and grant the ability for Aquaman to teleport himself global and even interplanetary distances using water as a medium. It can also transform into a gladius and back into a trident again at will. Arthur also uses both versions of the trident to boost the range of his telepathy. Sometimes when Arthur utilizes the trident of Atlan's supernatural powers, his eyes glow with arcane power and this further strengthens his abilities as well as give him various arcane energy-based capabilities as well.
After the loss of his left hand, Aquaman initially replaced it with a cybernetic retractable hook, then a liquid metal hand. The mechanical hand was replaced by a magical hand made out of water, given to him by the Lady of the Lake, which granted Aquaman numerous abilities. These included: the ability to instantly dehydrate to death anyone he touched, shoot jets of scalding or freezing water from it, healing abilities, the ability to create portals into mystical dimensions that could act as spontaneous transport, control and negate magic, manipulate almost any body of water he sets his focuses on and the capability to communicate with the Lady of the Lake through his magic water hand. His biological hand was restored when the character was resurrected in Blackest Night #8.
At various times in his life, Aquaman has been transformed into a purely oceanic entity with power over all the seas of the world; this was usually temporary, as he would often revert to normal afterwards.

Ooooo what super powers would MM and our OCs have?
Yoosung should probably have some kind of telepathy. I just feel like he needs to be able to talk to animals. He could shapeshift into animals too like Beast Boy. It's something that he probably doesn't think will help him.
Jaehee should be super strong. I want her to lift a couch with the boys on it.
Zen should have a double-edge sword. Maybe he has a form of mind control or Siren like ability. Like, he can compel people but he just wants to preform. People think he's a bad guy.
Jumin strikes me as a quirkless or just an everyday guy.
Seven should be a technopath. He can control tech and influence it as he pleases. I also considered some sort of light navigation for him given what I thought Saeran's power to be.
Saeran... I want him to struggle here. He can induce nightmares and fear into anyone he touches. He's enshrouded by darkness and it can overwork and overwhelm him. Perhaps it isn't just dark manipulation but it's heavy.
V seems like he should be a strong empath. He can absorb anything negative but it hurts him by taking that pain away from them. That seems right.
Minji seems like she should have some kind of speed quirk. She is a runner, after all. Like, the Flash. That's really simple.
Judas needs to have a power that lets him deceive others. Maybe he can smooth talk anyone, maybe be can shapeshift... It's gotta be a quirk that can help him trick others for his job.
Lila? That's easy! Plant manipulation. She can control flowers and earth how she sees fit. Its the power that Saeran would want to have himself, but he's cursed with darkeness which is why he picks Lila.
Morgan.... Lightning manipulation!
Eliza? Charm! Charm anyone you want but it exhausts you like a maiden on a hot summer day.
Tasse... Power unknown. Likely powerless but utterly only needs their bare hands to kill a man.

Hi i sure as hell have time to read all the world building and story planning you have for the supernatural au. Those are my absolute favorite aus!!
Nonnie! You are on my favorite Anon list! I love anyone that wants me to ramble about my writing.
Ask me questions
This is just the world build and not the plot which is forming(?). Time for you all to experience what I call the Blender of Worlds and Words. I never know what to do, so I just to an overview where you can kind of see what plot I may do, but it gives you a better taste of the world as a whole without the microscope lens of story.
Power structures
Humans and Supernaturals know about each other, however, they have sets of different laws governing them
E.G murder is illegal for humans but for Vampires, they can kill so long as it was for feeding/self-defense
Tax evasion is illegal for everyone
Werewolves laws are more stringent
Despite the governments being equal, there is a societal imbalance between everyone
Humans are middle ground, but there are other supernaturals that consider themselves better than humans
These are the types that can pass as humans but they’re not because ~reasons~
Between Vampires and humans (this would be easier if I had a graph
WAIT I CAN MAKE ONE
Tumblr media
Okay, so now that that’s present
The more “human” you are the higher Society thinks of you
Werewolves are the lowest because they lose their humanity, whereas Mermaids only take on the qualities of animals
There are some who try to argue against this system
The Supernaturals
Vampires
Prefer to be called Trueblooded if that, otherwise Vampire is acceptable
Do not call them leech, blood-sucker, demon, etc.
They are treated like royalty p much by everyone because they’ve established themselves as the best, regardless of how bad your blood line is
Classifications
Truebloods are Vampires that can directly trace their founders to the First
There’s about 15 Trueblood families
They’re the council of Vampires
Typically, they’re on the Supernatural governing committee
Mostly they’re in equal standing, but they’re all vying for top spot.
These are born Vampires, even if the offspring should be between a Vampire and Human
It’s a no-no, and typically the offspring will be killed
Bloodlines
This is dependent on how you can trace your sire’s line
Mostly for those turned
Bloodlines are founded originally by Truebloods
The more prestigious the bloodline, the higher rank you are
E.G if you’re from Vlad’s line you’re just under a Trueblood
If turned by a Trueblood then you’re the start of your bloodline
Newborns
1-340 years of age is a Newborn
Babies
They don’t get the protection of their bloodline completely until they’re adolescent
Newborns are the easiest and most frequently killed
Or die b/c they don’t understand their new limits/powers
Abilities
General
Immortality
Truebloods age until they’re 25
Halfers or Dampheirs age until they’re 35 if they’re half human
Blood drinking
heals
enhances abilities
sustains
Sidenote
Different things happen to a Vampire if they drink from another Super
E.G Werewolf blood will poison them where as blood of Fae creatures get them drunk
Heightened Eyesight // Night Vision
Super Speed // Super Strength
Trueblood (From most common to least)
Charm
Increases Attraction
Telepathy
Thought influencing
Empathy
Emotion Control
Sunwalking
Immune to the Sun
Oracle
Future sight
Roger
A trueblood
Sunwalker // Charmer
Really hates Vampire politics
He doesn’t care about the hierarchy shit
Except when he sees poor treatment then he gets heated
Mostly he wants to drum
Dryads
Nature sprits who use music to influence the world
Do not call them sirens
Their music is so enchanting to others that it draws them in seemingly against their will (the person influenced doesn’t though)
Classification
Music Dryads
Muses
Have been called the Muses in the past
They have the best music out of the Dryad race
Nature
Most Common
They sing to make trees grow
9/10 they’re hippies
Fire
Destructive but also Regrowth
Water
Most likely to be called a Siren
Which is why they’re so lowly thought of by the other Dryads
They have accidentally lured sailors to their deaths
Abilities
General
Luring Voice
Charm aura
People are naturally drawn to them
Perfect Pitch
Immortality (they can shift their forms)
Music Dryads
Empathetic Voice
Can make you feel the motion the dryad wants you to
Background track
You always here music around them
Freddie
Music Dryad
While typically Dryads are neutral to humans and care little about the hierarchy in general, Freddie wanted to experience it
He’s like I’m going to start a band!!
He’s mastered control of his aura and charm so that he passes mostly as a human
You can always here a piano when you’re near him
Its v distracting when the band first forms
Humans
Literally, that’s all
Most of them respect the hierarchy and don’t try to involve themselves in Supernatural politics
There are some that are prejudice against all Supernaturals however
The most extreme are Hunters
They’re an unofficial form of Law Enforcement
They tend to kill Supernaturals that are “getting out of hand and a danger”
Mostly Newborns b/c they’re easy + do cause a lot of damage
Wolf’s Head
Specialize in hunting Werewolves because they consider them to be the biggest menace to society
They’re the worst of the supernaturals
Wolves playing to be humans
John
An open-mind human
Doesn’t believe that anyone is inherently better, but doesn’t understand it
That is until he has to figure it out living with Three Supers
What was I thinking?
And he decides that he wants to try and change some of it
Werewolves
Preferred to be called Lykans or Lycanthropes (and now that we’re here, that’s what I’m referring to them as from here on out b/c I was only doing it for understanding)
Werewolves, beasts, mutts etc are hugely offensive
Ofc most people don’t care because they’re so low ranking
In some countries, they aren’t allowed within a city
In others, they can’t work with certain groups or at all
Some require Lykans to wear collars to designate their status
Many have heavy laws and regulation to protect others
“No Beasts Allowed” establishments are common
There are some that won’t allow a Lykan on a seat
Britain's Work Laws
4 days prior to the turn, and 3 days after, have to be taken off unpaid
I could have specified the week of the full moon but
Some business require more
More progressive business give half pay
Classifications
Blood of Romulus
They can trace themselves to the First Lykan, which was First King of Rome Romulus
He got cursed b/c he killed his brother
They’re only higher ranked because most of their turns are by choice
Only 3-4 times a year are they influenced by the full moon
Can shift at any given time
Born Lykans
Those with the blood of Romulus will always have the form of a wolf no matter how far removed
Turned Ones
Otherwise known as the more offensive term Cursed Ones
They’ve been bitten by a half-formed Lykan and thus have become one
Oh shit explanation
Typically a full moon transformation is slow, which means that a Lykan will be half-man half-wolf longer, and that’s when Lycanthropy is easiest to pass
About 40% chance of taking at full shift
About 2% while not shifted at all
Abilities
General
Heightened Senses
All the time if BoR
Super Strenght // Super Speed
Wolf form
Enhanced Healing
Blood of Romulus
Controlled Wolf form
Immortality Ritual
Limited shifting
Pack bonds between non Lykans
Pairbonds are a thing
The bonds let them know where their bonded are on a subconscious level
Also their condition and emotion
Most people don’t want to be packed bonded because it drops their status to that of a Lykan in the eyes of society
Blood Hunt
If they bite someone mostly to completely shifted they can track that person
Brian
Blood of Romulus
He’s rarely in his wolf form
Uncontrolled turns 1-2 times a year
It does tend to ruin his mental health // mood
Very much aware of the hierarchy
There is a specific group dedicated to exterminating his kind
He’s very careful to not draw attention to the fact that he’s a supernatural, much less a Lykan
If anyone cares enough they can look it up in the registry

for the ask game, here are three random words! cat, magic, and family
OKAY OKAY OKAY WOW I CAN ACTUALLY ANSWER THIS ONE PRETTY WELL!!!
1. Cat
Okay there’s a whole plotline about the OG Squad™ (Kat, Sam, Nicole, Liz, Dutta, Natalia, May, and Vanessa) + some supporting characters (Zara, Artemis, Loki, and Apollo) going to all these alternate universes. In one alternate universe, Liz finds a black cat (who she decides to call Frank) and makes it her mission to adopt him by taking him with her back to her original universe.
Zara (Liz’s girlfriend) loves Frank, as does Guinevere de Vetere (Enzo de Vetere’s eight-year-old sister), and even Loki has a soft spot for Frank (Loki sighed, picking Frank up by the scruff of his neck, and poked him in his little round belly. “Now listen to me, young man. Let me get these shoes off, and then you can play with the laces as much as you want.”).
Bonus: Natalia, deadly assassin who has a steadily fading moral code and very few fucks left to give, is allergic to cats. Will finds it hilarious and makes sure to film her sneezes because “they sound like a middle-aged rich white suburban man with two over-achieving children”. He has narrowly avoided being stabbed by her numerous times for laughing at her odd sneeze.
2. Magic
Literally my entire WIP and series cool cool cool cocococoocococococool
I have several different magics and I will list the ones I remember (or just the main ones, idk) here!
Illusiomancy, DM (shape-shifting, conjuring, illusions)
Astramancy, CM (lightning)
^Kathryn Pearce
Pyromancy, DM (*maniacal giggling* F I R E)
Pagomancy, DM (ice)
^Samantha Meak
Aviomancy, DM (air, flying, etc etc)
Tachomancy, DM (super speed)
^Nicole Holt
Necromancy, CM (mainly shadows, some control over corpses, nbd)
Oneiromancy, CM (basically??? dreams. they can invade others’ / communicate to divine entities with / create / manipulate dreams.)
^May Sheridan
Botanimancy, DM (plants!!!)
Metallomancy, DM (metal!!!)
Petramancy, DM (rock!!!)
^the holy trinity^
^Dutta Nasrin
Anthromancy, CM (control of people/body parts, eg, “why are you hitting yourself” but they are forcing the person to hit themselves)
Oramancy, CM (basically telepathy, they can have a mental group chat and permanently disable someone’s brain or control that person’s mind)
^Natalia Creed
Heliomancy, DM (light bending!)
Iatromancy, DM (healing!)
^Liz Young
Aquamancy, DM (water bending)
Delphomancy, CM (seeing into the future, courtesy of Delphi, v difficult, v dangerous)
^Vanessa Corkeek
DM: Defensive Magic, eg, not meant to be used in combat but can potentially be used in combat so that’s cool
CM: Combative Magic, basically the opposite of Defensive Magic
Other magic-related abbreviations include: ME (Magical Energy), MPE (Magical Potential Energy), DE (Divine Energy, reserved for gods), DPE (Divine Potential Energy, eg, could become a god but isn’t a god yet)
3. Family
My WIP and series is kind of like a dark version of Rick Riordan, so pretty much everyone’s related to gods. It’s intense.
Godly:
Kathryn Pearce (daughter of Laufey and Fárbauti, sister of Loki Laufeyson, she’s an Aesir-Jötunn)
Samantha Meak (daughter of Hephaestus and a mortal who was descended from the dragon Fafnir, she’s a demidracona / demigod)
Nicole Holt (daughter of Hermes and granddaughter of Aura, a Greek goddess of wind, she’s a demigod)
Liz Young (daughter of the Titan Helios and Aenwyn Rhysathorne, a Light Alf, demigod / demialf)
Dutta Nasrin (daughter of Physis and Geb, carries DPE, is an Olympian / Duatan)
Natalia Creed (her mortal parents were hosting the spirits of Nyx and Erebus, and those powers were passed on to their daughter, she’s ~unprecedented~ but classifies herself as an Olympian because it’s hard to explain)
May Sheridan (daughter of Phantasos and Persephone, she’s an Olympian)
Vanessa Corkeek (daughter of Nephthys and a guy who was descended from the Oracle of Delphi, she’s a demigod)
Thomas and Will di Siva (neither of them have any godly relations, but they’re the true vessels of Vé and Vili, the brothers of Odin)
Zara Grim (also lacks godly relations, but she’s the current Grim Reaper who is literally the commander of angels and demons and valkyries like wow you go sis)
Those are my main characters. Wow.
Also my ships end up doing all sorts of nice family shit and it’s so nice but!!! I don’t know if I wanna spoil it or not!!! If you guys are desperate please ask or dm me and I will answer!!! I’m still figuring all this out!!!
Thank you to whoever tagged me! I can’t remember which post I interacted with to get this, I’m so sorry. But thanks!
:)

The Boys: 10 Strongest Super-Abled Characters, Ranked
The live-action adaptation of The Boys premiered on Amazon Prime Video in July of 2019. This TV show, which was developed by Eric Kripke, was based on the Dynamite Entertainment comic book series of the same name written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by Darick Robertson. All in all, The Boys follows two distinct groups of vigilantes – the ‘super-abled’ Seven and the street-level Boys.
RELATED: The Boys: 10 Reasons Why Homelander Is Scarier Than Thanos
It comes without saying that The Boys has a much more cynical approach to superheroes, bringing to TV a new ‘dark’ take on the genre. However, the show still has many hero archetypes that we’ve come to know from Marvel and DC, some of which are much stronger than others. Read below to explore the 10 strongest super-abled characters on The Boys television series.
SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers for the comic book series and the first season of the live-action TV series The Boys.
10 THE DEEP
Tumblr media
Played by Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), it is safe to say that The Deep is The Boys’ own version of DC Comics’ Aquaman. Despite being a member of The Seven, The Deep is widely ignored by Vought International and the other members of his team, often being treated as a joke. His powers include aquatic respiration and telepathy, as well as above-average strength and endurance.
In the comic books, The Deep always wears a diving helmet that he is unable to take off due to an ancient curse. Moreover, the hero distances himself from The Seven to join a different team in the comics, which is known as Truth. However, the TV series showed Vought International punishing The Deep and forcing him into taking a sabbatical from The Seven as a result of public perception that he had sexually assaulted Starlight.
9 POPCLAW
Tumblr media
By the time that we meet Popclaw – whose real name is Charlotte – on The Boys, she is no longer an active super-abled hero. As a young girl, Popclaw was part of the Teenage Kix team and starred in the in-universe movie franchise Terminal Beauty. Over time, however, she develops a more private life and focuses on dating A-Train.
Popclaw is able to retract a claw from both of her wrists, and has an above-average strength in comparison to other humans. Despite the fact that she is quite strong, she is far from being the strongest super-abled person in the universe of The Boys. On TV, Popclaw is portrayed by actress Brittany Allen (All My Children, Falling Water).
8 THE LAMPLIGHTER
Tumblr media
Despite the fact that he is certainly strong enough to be part of The Seven, The Lamplighter is already retired by the time that The Boys starts. While we never actually see this hero in action, he wielded powerful staff that granted him the ability of pyrokinesis (the generation and manipulation of fire).
The Lamplighter is certainly a strong super-abled character on The Boys, but not one that compared to most other members of The Seven (and even heroes who existed outside of that group). While we never got a full explanation for his retirement on the show, this character dies and resurrects as a zombie in the comic book series.
7 A-TRAIN
Tumblr media
Sure, A-Train is known as the fastest speedster alive on The Boys, thus granting him the chance to be part of Vought International’s The Seven. However, he is far from being the strongest super-abled character on the series, as most of his peak performance comes from experimenting with Compound V rather than relying on his actual skills. In fact, it is under the influence of that substance that A-Train accidentally kills Robin (Hughie’s girlfriend).
RELATED: The Boys: 5 Ways It's Nothing Like A Classic Superhero Series (& 5 Ways It Is)
Played by Jessie T. Usher (Independence Day: Resurgence, Survivor’s Remorse), A-Train goes through many ups and downs during the first season of The Boys, going as far as killing his girlfriend Popclaw after finding out that she had given the Boys confidential information.
6 KIMIKO / THE FEMALE
Tumblr media
Kimiko, who is more commonly referred to as The Female, ends up joining the Boys crew after being ‘rescued’ by them. Portrayed by Karen Fukuhara (Katana in Suicide Squad), Kimiko has super-abled strength, reflexes, endurance, and speed, as well as the power to regenerate/heal her wounds.
When we first see her, The Female is imprisoned and clearly lacks any social skills. Over time, however, Frenchie enables her to open herself up to him and the Boys as a whole. While a significant part of her origin story remains to be seen, The Boys alludes to the fact that someone experimented on Kimiko with the substance known as Compound V.
5 STARLIGHT
Tumblr media
By the time that The Boys begins, Starlight is an up-and-coming super-abled character who was just hired by Vought International following The Lamplighter’s retirement from The Seven. All in all, Starlight (a.k.a. Annie January) is a small-town hero who was raised by a single mother and has a strong relationship with religion. Her abilities include the absorption and manipulation of electricity, as well as above-average strength and endurance.
On TV, Starlight is brought to life by actress Erin Moriarty (True Detective, Jessica Jones). Season 1 of The Boys saw this character facing sexual assault, being subjected to corporative constraints, and coming to grips with her religious affiliations. Moreover, Starlight and Hughie developed feelings over the course of the season.
4 TRANSLUCENT
Tumblr media
Translucent is a bulletproof character who has super-abled strength and endurance and can also turn himself invisible. Needless to say, Translucent is among the strongest of The Seven, and is largely regarded as nearly undefeatable. On The Boys, Translucent is captured by the Billy Butcher-led Boys team, which struggles greatly to find a way to actually kill the hero.
RELATED: The Boys - Ten Of The Series' Most Unflinching & Grittiest Moments
Eventually, Translucent dies at the hands of the Boys, who figure out that the super-abled character is nearly impenetrable from the outside, but not from the inside. On TV, the character of Translucent is played by actor Alex Hassell (Suburbicon, The Miniaturist).
3 QUEEN MAEVE
Tumblr media
There is certainly a Wonder Woman quality to Queen Maeve, who is portrayed by Dominique McElligott (The Astronauts Wives Club, House of Cards) on The Boys. All in all, Maeve’s powers include above-average strength, endurance, and reflexes, as well as the ability to jump upwards of 12 feet high and being immune to virtually any physical harm (we even see proof that she is bulletproof).
There is no doubt that Queen Maeve is one of the strongest super-abled members of The Seven, thus being one of the most powerful characters on The Boys. Despite being complicit to most of Homelander’s shenanigans, Maeve is certainly caring toward Starlight and displays more resentment for Vought International’s evil secrets than other members of The Seven do.
2 HOMELANDER
Tumblr media
By every standard, Homelander is considered the strongest super-abled person alive, being feared and respected (but mostly feared) by virtually every other member of The Seven. Portrayed by Antony Starr (Banshee), Homelander’s powers include super strength, speed, and hearing, as well as the ability to fly, generate heat vision, and see through solid object. What’s more, Homelander is also impenetrable, making it theoretically impossible for anyone to defeat him.
It is hard not to compare Homelander’s set of powers with those of Superman, even if the personalities of those two characters couldn’t be any more different. Despite the fact that basically every character on The Boys has villainous tendencies, Homelander is certainly the clearest antagonistic force on the show, and that is seemingly going to be the case on season 2 as well.
1 BLACK NOIR
Tumblr media
Season 1 of The Boys didn’t explore Black Noir too much, but there is no doubt that this is the strongest character on the show. If you have read the comics, you probably know that Black Noir is a clone of Homelander who has crazier tendencies, thus serving as Vought International’s secret weapon to stopping Homelander (if need be).
On TV, we see many characters fearing Black Noir greatly, but there are not too many moments when we see the super-abled character in action. All in all, Black Noir has most of Homelander’s powers, but is somehow even stronger than his counterpart.

Hii, I really love X-men (marvel in general) and I was wondering what kind of mutants the rfa+ V,Saeran and rika (vanderwood if u want) would be, but If you dont know them You can just ignore this if you want, Have fun writing! x
The first bomb begins.
Yoosung
For most of Yoosung’s life, he’s been able to understand animals (much to the envy of Saeyoung and Jumin)
Because he’s naturally smart, he is pressured to do well in school and behave
So, if Yoosung needs some me-time, he goes out to a grassy area and sits and waits for the animals to gather around him
More than once he’s actually been caught petting a deer while playing a game on his phone
Yoosung’s a Disney Princess
Jaehee
She’s got some form of super speed
Granted, Jaehee isn’t as fast as some mutants with super speed, but she’s infinitely more efficient
While Jaehee does have a lot of control over her powers, if she gets too tired or doesn’t concentrate properly, she’s very likely to crash into walls or hurt herself
Thankfully, her speed carries over to her healing as well, so she recovers fast enough that it’s not anything serious
Zen
Well, naturally, he has an unnatural healing ability
It’s interesting that it’s actually a mind based super power as he has to focus and force his body to heal, knowing every cell and what it has to do to heal himself
It’s nowhere near as fast as, say, Wolverine, but it’s fast enough that he’s able to recover from a broken bone or sprained ankle within minutes to hours (depending on severity)
Some speculate that he has some sort of hypnotic singing voice, but he doesn’t, he’s just a beautiful singer
Also, although he doesn’t advertise it, he has had a vision or two of the future in his dreams, but they’re infrequent
Jumin
if he weren’t a mutant, his superpower would be money
Jumin’s able to shift his body into diamond and back again
He’s able to manipulate this form and create diamond weapons or just straight up diamonds
Of course he wishes he could speak to cats, but unfortunately, he’s not so lucky and believe me he has tried to get Yoosung on his employee roster
Instead, he has an ability that can make him money and he can use to give people he likes nice things (also, he can spoil Elizabeth)
Would totally transform his hand and use the light refraction to play with Elizabeth
Saeyoung
Omnilingual
Aka, he speaks, reads, and understands all languages perfectly
Computer code, ancient Egyptian, and Korean all look the same to him
Not a super power, but he’s also super smart, and because he got to skip the step of “learning” new languages, he’s able to read a lot of books and how to hack better than anyone else
However, sometimes he misses something simple because he doesn’t realize that something is written in two languages for a deliberate reason that hints at the truth
V
He has enhanced senses and the ability to make super sonic blasts
So V is very good at knowing his surroundings at all times
He can detect anything new or wrong in his immediate area long before he even sees it
When V goes blind, he’s still able to see, but it’s different, and he’s not sure he likes it, but it’s interesting
The pictures he takes after he goes blind are drastically different in style, the critics say, but they’re still beautiful and his work continues to be adored
Saeran
Twins are often similar, but never the same
So while Saeyoung is omnilingual, Saeran isn’t
Instead, he’s telekinetic
He also has a little telepathy, but it only works with Saeyoung (twin telepathy for the win)
As a result, when he gets worked up or really emotional, Saeran loses control and things are either thrown or destroyed
When he was first rescued from Rika’s control, he had to be quarantined so that he couldn’t hurt anyone
Vanderwood
Human taser
Basically, he controls electricity and polarities and such
Vanderwood, when irritated or pushed, will simply raise his hand and have electricity arc between his fingers as a quiet threat
He’s also extremely useful to have around if something electrical breaks, because he can sense if the electricity isn’t passing through part of the machine, or if it’s an electricity problem at all
Rika
Rika… well, she’s got kind of a Queen Bee type power
In that, she produces pheromones that can warp and control a person’s mind
Now, people with strong minds or mental based powers, resist her control (such as MC and Saeyoung, Saeran to a lesser extent, and even V, although you wouldn’t know it because he gives into Rika’s will anyways, most of the time)
When her powers firsts appeared, her powers only appeared to make people more attracted to her, more drawn in, more interested in making her happy rather than anything else, and she used that to get people to donate money towards good causes
One day, someone tried to kill for her, misinterpreting her order, and Rika realized, if she could control people like this, she could change the world
Reshape it in a way that nobody would ever be unhappy or want for anything ever again (by taking away their free will)
Thus her descent into a power mad, world domination bent, villain
MC
MC would be a psychic
Probably with some form of ability to telepathically link people’s minds so that everyone can be on the same page
But she wouldn’t be strong enough to control or influence people
Although, be warned, she does have visions of the past, present, and future, so she could know more about you than you do
Not that she would tell you

sir your super speed vs telepathy snippet is just so good??? i literally love it so much omg. if you have the time, could you continue it? thanks!♥️💕
The villain knew they were smart. They knew they were crafty, quick, and sometimes cruel. They knew a lot of things about themself. They didn’t know how much they would enjoy the hero’s company.
Yes, their plot had been to keep the hero, to keep those calm thoughts just for the villain whenever they had a rough day. The hero was meant to be a soothing presence, nothing more, really.
So, why were they reading together?
“Can I ask you something?” The hero set their book down.
“You just did.” The villain smirked at that, still holding their book.
“You’re hilarious. Really, though.”
The villain closed their book with one hand, and repositioned themselves to be fully apt for the hero.
“Something wrong?”
“Probably a lot of things.” The villain managed to issue the warning with their eyes, so the hero didn’t press any further on that subject. “But that’s not important. How did you do it?”
The villain warily looked at the band around the hero’s head.
“Which part?”
“Can’t you just read my mind or something?”
The villain groaned. “You’re a pain.”
“Only on Tuesdays.”
They picked their book up again, turning away from the hero.
“The answer to your first question is simple, I’m brilliant. The second is no, it’s not technically mind control, it’s more like compulsion. And yes, being alone would be easier, but would you want to be alone?”
It was a satisfying enough answer for the hero, but something still bothered the villain.
“I can tell there’s something else in that head of yours.” They turned a page, not truly reading at this point.
“No.” The hero lied.
“Is lying to a telepath really the best course of action?”
The hero clasped their hands together. “I guess not.”
“I hear your little inquiry, it’s the loudest you’ve ever thought. A classic really, most people think it everyday without realizing. ‘Why me?’ Truly, an idiotic thing to think.” After a pause, they added, “Not for you, though. I think your case is somewhat validated.”
“So?” The hero prodded.
“I thought I explained this.” Another page turned.
“While I was in a frantic state. It would do good to explain it again.”
“Do good for you.” The villain mumbled. Nevertheless, they were somewhat urged to comply.
“I can say with the upmost confidence that you are the only one who has ever brought a semblance of a calming presence. I had no interest in fighting some speedster with surely racing thoughts. Then I actually heard you.”
“And placed a mental track on me?”
“I’m selfish, I wanted that calming presence again.” The villain’s eyes narrowed. “You said you were in a state of panic.”
The hero shrugged. “It’s...blurry. You know I’m not lying.”
“No, you aren’t.” Sly eyes looked at the hero’s discarded book. “Answer some questions for me.” It wasn’t a suggestion.
“Ok.”
“Why do you think you were assigned to me?” The villain asked, something a bit too saccharine in their tone. “It was a gift, turns out, but I would like to know who to thank.”
Maybe the tone of voice should have made the hero shudder, but they didn’t, they couldn’t.
“I don’t know. They never even told me what you could do.”
“No one knew.” The villain brushed off. “I defeated them and took away any memory of how they lost.”
While the villain would have otherwise answered the hero’s silent question, the villain still had more to ask.
“And after the first few fights, you ran, both metaphorically and literally. Why?”
“I’m afraid of you.”
What a jarring answer.
“You still are?” The villain asked, their fingers curling around the edges of their book.
“I guess.” The hero shrugged, motioning to their head. “You’re capable of this. That’s fearful enough.”
Fluid would be the best way to describe how the villain moved, the hero suddenly face to face with the villain, who had rested their chin in their hand. It was probably the hell design on their head, but the hero’s own speeding receptors had hardly seen them coming.
“You didn’t know I was capable of that until three days ago.” They were smiling. “That was before all,” the villain waved vaguely. “this. Why were you afraid of me beforehand?”
“Hm.” The hero crossed their legs. “I’ve never thought about it. You just unnerved me, in a way.”
In a way wasn’t a good answer for the villain. But the villain had time now, and calm. Right now, they just wanted the calm. So they picked up their book, and went back to reading, the hero doing the same.
With one final sweep of the hero’s mind, the villain chuckled.
“It is an ugly band isn’t it? I’ll work on something else.”
.
On the eighth night of being there, the hero awoke to a nearly crying villain, or so they thought. It was extremely probable that the villain had been crying earlier, or just stopped crying very recently.
“You can...go back to sleep. I didn’t intend to wake you.” The villain had something clutched tightly in their hand.
“Are you ok?”
“No.”
On the eighth night and the ninth morning, the hero sat beside the villain, giving them all the comfort in the world.
.
The villain managed to turn the band into a well decorate bracelet.
.
It was a shame the villain trusted them, to an extent. The smallest amount of trust could work for the hero, they had played on much less before.
It was difficult to truly explain, but the hero didn’t feel the odd prodding in their head nearly as much as they had some time ago. There still remained that compulsion, that compliance, but the hero wasn’t particularly inclined to give into it.
The band, now the bracelet, had seemed to somehow dull
Regardless, they didn’t necessarily mind the villain’s fingers running up and down their arm.
“You’ve been gone the last couple of days.” The hero commented.
“I have.”
“What have you been up to?”
That threw the villain off. Even with the time spent with the hero, with the hero being mostly theirs, they hadn’t expected them, a hero, to ask. They probably wouldn’t want to know.
The villain answered with furrowed eyebrows. “What is your best guess?”
“Putting buckets of water on top of door frames?” The hero pulled away, much to the annoyance of the villain.
“That’s not a horrible idea.” In a touch starved attempt, the villain grabbed the crook of the hero’s arm, pulling them closer.
“You should reevaluate what’s a good crime an what’s not.”
“Oh, please.” The villain began running their fingers up and down the hero’s arm again. “I want your actual guess.”
“Why?”
The villain caught the hero’s second attempt to pull away, and not wanting to upset them, reluctantly relinquished.
“Maybe I’ll use your idea, maybe I feel like being cruel.”
It didn’t have the effect that the villain intended, the hero just made a low humming noice.
What did the villain intend? What effect did they want? Were they trying to seduce the hero to their side, or was this really some attempt at cruelty?
“I think you should let me go.”
The villain’s head snapped up, their eyes angry, focusing on the hero before locking onto the bracelet.
It was easy enough for the hero to tell what would come next, and so it was easy for them to speed behind the villain before they could freeze the hero again.
“That’s what you want to play, then?” The villain turned slowly, only to see no hero.
“The mental track is...” although the villain was shocked, they were also impressed, and couldn’t stop themselves from breaking into a smile. “You’ve been practicing? I’m curious as to how, exactly.”
The hero watched the villain turn in slow circles as they zipped place to place. They hadn’t been practicing as the villain meant, they just knew what to do. The band, then the bracelet, became easier to resist, and gave the hero some knowledge of the inner workings of the villain’s abilities.
“I can’t hear you either.” The villain’s face soured. “That was the whole point. But don’t worry, pet, once I get you back, I’ll enjoy combing through that lovely head manually.”
After more silence, the villain continued. “Don’t you remember what I said to you? Feels like forever ago, doesn’t it?” The villain sneered. “That I would find you, again and again, that you would have nowhere else to run. That holds true today, pet.”
With quiet concentration, the hero began to move their wrist at a different frequency, the frequency of the bracelet.
They didn’t like this trick, it felt like they didn’t exist correctly. Still, it was efficient, and it worked. The bracelet, which the hero realized was more of a cuff, dropped to the ground.
The hero sped away, feeling relieved and confused. For some reason, they could almost imagine what the villain would do.
Pick up the cuff-bracelet.
Realize their prize is truly gone.
And scream.
They were right, and wished they hadn’t been. The hero heard the villain’s screaming voice for days afterwards.

Episode 13
Scene 14:
[Suddenly Latios disappears and Naihi starts and tenses. For a split second Ren is afraid she has offended him.]
Naihi: Another trainer approaches!
Ren: [relieved] Oh, that should be Kai.
[A few moments later Kai and Jay wander out of the trees. Ren runs up to them.]
Ren: Kai! [She hugs him tight and he hugs her back.] I'm so happy to see you!
Kai: Good to see you too, Ren. How are things?
Ren: Uhhhhhhh…
Kai: Don’t worry about it, we can talk later. [catching sight of Naihi] Whoa, is that the absol?
Ren: Yeah, her name is Naihi.
Kai: She must be a longclaw variant. People say that they are the strongest variant but really difficult to catch and train.
Ren: My string of luck continues.
Kai: I guess yeah.
Naihi: Greetings friend of Ren.
Kai: Hello, nice to meet you. [to Ren] Her telepathy feels so strange. I mean, I haven’t met too many psychic-types but…
Ren: Yeah, this is different for sure. I’m glad she can though. It’s been making things a lot easier.
Kai: And is that your anorith?
Ren: Yep! That’s Pohaku. I can’t wait for you to see your lileep. She’s so cute. They kind of look alike, actually. I think they both used to live in a coral reef.
Kai: Awesome! I’m so excited for tomorrow!
Ren: [smiling] Me too. I want a bed and a hot shower. But first, you want to have that battle you promised me?
Kai: Yeah! Jay and I are all warmed up from climbing this morning.
Ren: Three v three battle?
Kai: Four v four. We have a new member now.
Ren: Oh right, the swellow you told me about. No type advantages?
Kai: Sounds good. Ready, Jay?
[Jay nods and the trainers enter the battle terms on their navs. Jay steps forward and Ren sends in Ao as she is the only one who isn't vulnerable to fire or fighting.]
Kai: Blaze kick!
Ren: Charge beam!
[Jay has gotten fast, but Ao is even faster. She darts just ahead of Jay's flaming kicks and punches, little more than a blur to the unaided eye. Each time she gets far enough away, she fires off a charge beam. Jay takes these attacks as if they are mere annoyances, never ceasing her pursuit. Finally Ao comes to a stop and faces Jay head on, preparing to unleash a discharge. Jay uses flame charge, barreling towards her at full speed. A wall of electricity arcs out from Ao and connects with the burning Jay, creating a blinding explosion of light. A fraction of a second later, Jay barrels into Ao, sending her sprawling. She looks up at Jay and bows her head in defeat a moment before Jay's fire goes out, she staggers, and she falls. Next up is Tāraki and Dusty. Dusty starts off the match by lowering his head and charging Tāraki. His form has improved and he looks more battering ram than pokemon as he accelerates towards his opponent. Undaunted, Tāraki tenses as if to catch him only to dive out of the way at the last second, tail sweeping low. Dusty pitches forward, but is prepared for the tactic. He tucks his head in as he lands on it, spine going from ramrod straight to perfect wheel. He rolls a few times before popping back up to his feet. The next time he charges, he goes for a succession of quick jabs. All of Tāraki's practice with Putenga seems to have paid off as he successfully parries with dual chop. Dusty slides back but uses the distance to lean on his tail and strike out with his powerful hind legs. Tāraki stops the blow with crossed arms and un-steadies Dusty with x-scissor before swinging his tail around and toppling the teetering breloom with a slam. Dusty groans and Tāraki crows his victory. Next is Kiko versus Akahata. Akahata charges in, jaws sparking, but Kiko overwhelms her with a surf. He charges at her through the water, but she swims down in time and digs into the soil. The swell of water runs off and Akahata bursts out of the ground next to Kiko and grabs his fin, jolting him with electricity. He winces but rolls sideways, flinging Akahata through the air and into the ground before rolling over on top of her. She pretty much disappears beneath his side, but apparently does not release his fin as he is jolted once more and rolls off her. He deflates and she gets up and shakes herself off. Finally Kai sends out his newest pokemon: a rufous swellow. Ren sends in Māia to face her. She looks Māia up and down with obvious disdain.]
Ruby (swellow): [looking back at Kai] A taillow? I thought you said this trainer was strong.
Kai: [embarrassed hiss] Ruby!
Māia: I don't need evolution to win.
Ruby: Them's fightin' words! Bring it little birdie!
[Ruby spreads her wings, preparing to take off, but Māia just squares her shoulders and takes a deep breath. Ruby brings her wings down and launches into the air just as Māia fires off a boomburst at her. The sound wave misses but buffets her as she ascends.]
Ruby: Whoa. [as Māia launches into the air] So you have a special move? So what! [rushing towards Māia, wings glowing] You'll need more than a trick to beat me!
[Māia dives under her, just out of range of her reaching talons, before using her increased speed to swoop steeply upward. She performs a flawless loop de loop and strikes Ruby in the back with an aerial ace. Ruby rolls in the air and catches Māia across the chest. They are both forced to recover. They circle each other and this time Māia initiates with steel wing. Ruby blocks it with quick guard and blows Māia back with her wings. Māia flies off in the other direction before climbing.]
Ruby: Oh no you don't!
[Ruby speeds after her. Māia swoops this way and that to try and shake her, but Ruby eventually catches up and grabs Māia in her talons. Māia struggles to get free as she dives. As they fall Māia stops struggling and uses steel wing. The added weight sends them plummeting faster. Ruby pulls up and lets go. Māia waits just one extra second before opening her wings. She skims over the ground before using the momentum to climb. She flips just as she comes to a stop and dives downward. She is in the sun and takes Ruby completely by surprise. She slams into her and bears her to the ground. Māia pushes off her back just in time and circles around to land in front of her trainer. Ruby struggles to get up, wings shaking, but collapses. Kai goes to her and applies a potion.]
Kai: [scooping her up] Come here, Ruby. You see, that's what you get for trash talking.
Ruby: Hey taillow! Next time we meet, I'll be stronger and I won't loose.
[Māia just shrugs, clearly unimpressed. Ruby looks furious and starts struggling in Kai's arms.]
Ruby: Are you refusing my challenge?! You coward! How dare you—
Kai: Ruby! Cut it out!
[Māia flies to Ren's shoulder as Ruby flails and yells obscenities. Kai tries to quiet her for a few more moments, but in the end recalls Ruby to her ball.]
Kai: Sorry about Ruby.
Ren: Oh, am I lucky I can't understand her?
Kai: Haha. Yeah. I’m hoping she’ll calm down a bit. She is super competitive. [He sighs.] I’m not ready for this gym yet. My two best battlers have a severe type disadvantage. Maybe we’ll just tag along for support this time.
Ren: Hey, that’s okay. You could always train with us for a little while. I’m sure we could take the gym, but most of my team has been on break for a while, so we could all use more practice. Maybe you should take a little break from research and get your team up to snuff. What do you say?
Kai: That sounds great actually. Thanks, Ren.

The Flash
The Flash (or simply Flash) is the name of several superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert, the original Flash first appeared in Flash Comics #1 (cover date January 1940/release month November 1939). Nicknamed the "Scarlet Speedster", all incarnations of the Flash possess "super speed", which includes the ability to run, move, and think extremely fast, use superhuman reflexes, and seemingly violate certain laws of physics.
Thus far, at least four different characters—each of whom somehow gained the power of "the speed force"—have assumed the mantle of the Flash in DC's history: college athlete Jay Garrick (1940–1951, 1961–2011, 2017–present), forensic scientist Barry Allen (1956–1985, 2008–present), Barry's nephew Wally West (1986–2011, 2016–present), and Barry's grandson Bart Allen (2006–2007). Each incarnation of the Flash has been a key member of at least one of DC's premier teams: the Justice Society of America, the Justice League, and the Teen Titans.
The Flash is one of DC Comics' most popular characters and has been integral to the publisher's many reality-changing "crisis" storylines over the years. The original meeting of the Golden Age Flash Jay Garrick and Silver Age Flash Barry Allen in "Flash of Two Worlds" (1961) introduced the Multiverse storytelling concept to DC readers, which would become the basis for many DC stories in the years to come.
Like his Justice League colleagues Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman, the Flash has a distinctive cast of adversaries, including the various Rogues (unique among DC supervillains for their code of honor) and the various psychopathic "speedsters" who go by the names Reverse-Flash or Zoom. Other supporting characters in Flash stories include Barry's wife Iris West, Wally's wife Linda Park, Bart's girlfriend Valerie Perez, friendly fellow speedster Max Mercury, and Central City police department members David Singh and Patty Spivot.
A staple of the comic book DC Universe, the Flash has been adapted to numerous DC films, video games, animated series, and live-action television shows. In live-action, Barry Allen has been portrayed by Rod Haase for the 1979 television special Legends of the Superheroes, John Wesley Shipp in the 1990 The Flash series and Grant Gustin in the 2014 The Flash series, and by Ezra Miller in the DC Extended Universe series of films, beginning with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). Shipp also portrays a version of Jay Garrick in the 2014 The Flash series. The various incarnations of the Flash also feature in animated series such as Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Young Justice, as well as the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series.
> Powers and abilities
All incarnations of the Flash can move, think, and react at light speeds as well as having superhuman endurance that allows them to run incredible distances. Some, notably later versions, can vibrate so fast that they can pass through walls in a process called quantum tunneling, travel through time and can also lend and borrow speed. Speedsters can also heal more rapidly than an average human. In addition, most incarnations have an invisible aura around their respective bodies that protects them from air friction and the kinetic effects of their powers.
On several occasions, the Flash has raced against Superman, either to determine who is faster or as part of a mutual effort to thwart some type of threat; these races, however, often resulted in ties because of outside circumstances. Writer Jim Shooter and artist Curt Swan crafted the story "Superman's Race With the Flash!" in Superman #199 (Aug. 1967) which featured the first race between the Flash and Superman. Writer E. Nelson Bridwell and artist Ross Andru produced "The Race to the End of the Universe", a follow-up story four months later in The Flash #175 (Dec. 1967). However, after the DC Universe revision after Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Flash does successfully beat Superman in a race in Adventures of Superman #463 with the explanation that Superman is not accustomed to running at high speed for extended periods of time since flying is more versatile and less strenuous, which means the far more practiced Flash has the advantage. After Final Crisis in Flash: Rebirth #3 the Flash is shown as being significantly faster than Superman, able to outrun him as Superman struggles to keep up with him. He reveals that all the close races between them before had been "for charity". In the Smallville episode "Run", Flash is not only able to run faster than a pre-Superman Clark Kent but can match Clark's top speed while running backwards.
While various incarnations of the Flash have proven their ability to run at light speed, the ability to steal speed from other objects allows respective Flashes to even significantly surpass this velocity. In Flash: The Human Race Wally is shown absorbing kinetic energy to an extent enabling him to move faster than teleportation and run from the end of the universe back to earth in less than a Planck instant (Planck time).
Speedsters may at times use the ability to speed-read at incredible rates and in doing so, process vast amounts of information. Whatever knowledge they acquire in this manner is usually temporary. Their ability to think fast also allows them some immunity to telepathy, as their thoughts operate at a rate too rapid for telepaths such as Martian Manhunter or Gorilla Grodd to read or influence their minds.
Flashes and other super-speedsters also have the ability to speak to one another at a highly accelerated rate. This is often done to have private conversations in front of non-fast people (as when Flash speaks to Superman about his ability to serve both the Titans and the JLA in The Titans #2). Speed-talking is also sometimes used for comedic effect where Flash becomes so excited that he begins talking faster and faster until his words become a jumble of noise. He also has the ability to change the vibration of his vocal cords making it so he can change how his voice sounds to others.
While not having the physical strength of many of his comrades and enemies, Flash has shown to be able to use his speed to exert incredible momentum into physical attacks. In Injustice: Gods Among Us, Flash uses these kinds of attacks as many of his special moves.
The Flash has also claimed that he can process thoughts in less than an attosecond. At times he is able to throw lightning created by his super speed and make speed vortices.
Some flashes also have the ability to create speed avatars (i.e. duplicates) and these avatars have sometimes been sent to different timelines to complete a particular mission. (Barry Allen exhibits this ability in the live action series "The Flash").
He can also be seen negating the effects of the anti-life equation, when he freed Iris-West from its control (probably due to his connection with the speed force).
It is said that Wally West has reached the velocity of 23,759,449,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (about 24 tredecillion) × c (the speed of light) and he could only do this with the help of every human being on earth moving so the speed force was joined through everyone.[18] With that speed he was able to not only run from planet to planet but different galaxies and universes at what would be considered a blink of an eye.

I love your super speed vs. telepathy snippets so much! Well, actually, I love all of your writing but I was really hoping you might continue it please? I would be very grateful!
The faces of the hero’s friends, cohorts, whatever one should call them, were clear in the villain’s mind, the hero had each memorized quite well.
They once again pulled at the mental track, letting go once they knew their hero was far away from whatever this place was.
Heroes didn’t always get the luxury of nicer headquarters, the villain had to admit that. If they couldn’t steal money, they must get it from their day jobs, or wherever they disappeared to when they weren’t fighting.
The clearly used pin pad showed wear on the numbers the hero had in their head, the passcode could’ve been figured out even if the villain didn’t go through their mind.
8, 5, 18, 15, 5, 19.
It corresponded with the alphabet, spelling ‘heroes’. A stupid name, a stupid passcode, even the hero thought that.
No matter.
The villain was able to walk right in, hands shoved in pockets, a grin on their face.
It was quiet in the talking sense, not extraordinary by any means. Four people in total lounged about.
Only one hero took immediate note at first. If the hero’s, now the villain’s memory served, this hero had no particular powers, but she was a skilled fighter.
And loud.
It’s the crazy villain. The others haven’t noticed. Where are their weak points? Attack first or wait?
So unorganized, this hero’s thoughts.
“Personally,” the villain began, slowly taking their hands out of their pockets. “I would attack first. It makes it easier on me.”
“Guys.” The unorganized hero said, voice stern. Her words were of no use, though, as the three others had already stood.
A thousand thoughts hit at once.
That’s not Hero.
Why hasn’t Hero come back yet?
They knew the passcode.
What did they do to Hero?
It didn’t work.
Did Hero betray us, or did Villain use them?
Not this one. Anyone but this one.
Its three against one this time.
The villain winced slightly, while the heroes had taken their fighting stances.
“Is it too many at once, Villain?” One of them taunted. Their words were brave, albeit foolish, yet their mind betrayed them.
“No point in putting on a brave face.” The villain said. “Not when I know how you really feel.”
The first attack came directly from the villain’s front - the fighter.
They knew they weren’t as good as her in physical fighting, but her strategizing skills needed polishing, especially considering the villain could hear where she planned to attack.
What was meant to be a surely vicious punch to the jaw ended up as an arm twisted behind her back.
The villain heard the next move before this fighting hero did.
Even if she didn’t realize it, she was thinking about how to get out of this on a subconscious level, her body just recognized it before her mind.
With no remorse, the villain pulled her closer, fingers on her temple, vaguely wondering why they hadn’t used this trick more often.
“Sleep.” They commanded, watching her fall to the ground.
Three other heroes had stood in silence. According to their thoughts, what she just did was incredibly reckless, incredibly unplanned. The same question did find its way to all of their minds - Will she ever wake up?
“She will.” The villain answered the unspoken worry. “Just in time to see your ruin.”
Two of the others seemed much more cautious, brute strength and the force of wind is what they had to work with. The third lingered back, not the fighting type, it seemed. They looked to be the whitecoat the villain had seen, strangely unfamiliar in an unprofessional setting.
“Where’s Hero?” The wind hero asked, slowly circling the villain along with the strong one.
“Ah, here and there. I don’t presume to know their whereabouts.” Well...
“What did you do to them?” The strong one demanded, much more hotheaded than their counterparts.
“My, oh my.” There was a strange look on the villain’s face, one the heroes didn’t care for. “I’m not using them for any ‘sick experiments’, as you are thinking, it’s not quite my style. You, however-”
An arm was wrapped around the villain’s neck, who took the opportunity to elbow the strong one in the gut. It didn’t really work, it wasn’t really meant to work, the villain just needed some sort of physical contact they initiated.
“Sleep.” The commanded, and though this one’s grip faltered they didn’t entirely let go of the villain.
Fine enough.
The wind one rushed forward, the strong arm still holding the villain, who used the anchor behind them to kick the oncoming hero.
“Sleep.” The villain commanded more harshly, feeling the grip around them weaken and fall.
At this point, the villain had to remind themselves of their strengths, the effort it took for the strong arm nearly draining them.
Still, there was only the wind one left before they could get to the whitecoat.
“You’ve seen what I can do.” The villain said, eyeing the hero who was doubled over from their kick.
“But you haven’t seen me.”
The silence of a building turned into the whistling of the winds, gusts of air flowing about in harsh and rapid movements.
“I wonder,” the villain spoke over the roaring. “if the others know of the little sordid affair you and the strong arm are having, how far you would fall from the fighter’s good graces.”
The winds died suddenly.
“You’re lying.” An aghast hero muttered, their confidence waning . “We aren’t..I wouldn’t-”
“Ah, lying to a telepath,” the villain chuckled, slowly closing the distance between them. “You know, Hero tried the same thing. Remind me where they are again?”
The wind hero staggered slightly, but was caught by a cold hand clutching the back of their neck.
“It’s much easier to do this when one is mentally beaten down.” The villain grinned. “Sleep.”
Onto the ground they went.
“Then there was one.” The villain said ominously.
The building now seemed to lack a whitecoat the villain was keen on finding, although that wasn’t really the case. The case was a scared tag along ‘hero’ used for medical expertise was hiding somewhere.
“I can hear your thoughts. Please don’t concern yourself with such fears, I just want to talk.”
The villain thought they would be kind, and wait for the whitecoat to reveal themselves before dragging them out by the collar.
It didn’t happen.
Without making a sound, the villain made their way to a small door, one meant to hold who knows what, but also one being used to hide in.
“Boo.” The villain said, opening the door.
While the whitecoat shrieked, the villain tutted.
“I told you.” They said, taking hold of a trembling collar. “I just wanted to talk.”
The second the whitecoat was heaved upward, they tried to make a dash for it, only for something hard to hit them, mentally.
“You are much easier to keep still.” The villain admitted. “You, like everyone else, are noisy. There’s more of you to take hold of. Every room I walk into is filled with people thinking bigger than life. It’s exhausting, it’s rude.”
“I-” they stammered, frozen limbs incapable of shaking. “I-I’m sorry. Is there-is there some-something I can do for you?”
The villain cocked their head. “Everyone seems to be afraid of me. There is only one who managed to keep calm throughout their fear.” They looked the whitecoat up and down once, unsatisfied with whatever they saw.
“You are smart.” The villain commented.
“Tha-thank you.”
“But so easily you yield to the voices of those heroes.” The disdain in the villain’s voice would have made the whitecoat flinch, if not for their being kept in place.
“Do you know what they felt?” The villain continued, fixing a glare on their target. “I know. I was in the hero’s head, and all they wanted was peace. Peace you denied them. It was well enough of you to send them to me, they would have died otherwise.”
“The-” the whitecoat made to defend themselves. “There was-wasn’t a ch-choice.”
“Oh, spare me your ramblings.” The villain scoffed. “No choice, it’s your job, the hero was fine with it, every pathetic excuse on your tongue is useless. Tell me, would you prefer I put you to sleep before the place blows?”
“P-pl-please, no.”
“You would rather stay in place?” The villain smiled. “How brave.”
“Villain?”
Damn, they hadn’t been paying attention to the mental track.
“Hero.” The villain greeted, not turning around to face them.
“This is why you wanted me away for a while.” The hero muttered, pieces of evidence coming together. “It would give you time to do...”
The villain still hadn’t turned to face them, but could hear the hero’s thoughts while investigating their sleeping teammates. Mainly, they were relieved none of them were dead.
Yet.
“H-hero.” The whitecoat managed to bite out.
With a withering glare from the villain, the whitecoat shut their mouth again.
“You have me in an awkward position, pet. Didn’t you promise to stay away?”
“I forgot a status report, they needed to know I was alive.”
“This one knows.” The villain said, turning their head slightly. “You should go now, pet.”
“I think I should stay.”
“I enjoy being on amicable terms with you. For the sake of staying so, I suggest you leave.” As an afterthought, the villain added, “Please.”
The whitecoat’s cogs were turning rapidly, the villain knew so, the villain hated it.
“I suggest you quell those thoughts, and quickly.” The villain snarled.
“Why are you doing this?” The hero asked, taking a slow step toward, eyes flicking between the whitecoat and the villain’s back.
“I wouldn’t try it, pet.”
“I’m not.”
“That’s a lie.”
The hero took a sharp breath. “Ok. Ok. We’re at a standstill-”
“Your speed, my mind, evenly matched throughout the passage of time. Either that, or you get lucky.” The villain sighed. “How frustrating it is.”
“So what if we just leave each other alone?”
The villain turned, quick and sharp.
“You are serious?” The villain squinted. “You are serious.” Their laugh was a horrible noise, short, taunting. “No, pet. I never fully planned on letting you be.”
“That’s fine.” It was only kind of a lie. “Just leave the rest of them alone.”
A sort of glee shone on the villain’s face. “But now they know me. I can’t quite let them live.”
The hero was slightly desperate at this point.
“Once you told me I was the only one who knew of your telepathy, it was because you took away everyone else’s memories. Do that now.” The hero’s beg was silent, the thought only meant for their head, but the villain still heard it.
The villain’s original plan was derailed, but this one was just as sweet. “Therein lies yet another problem, pet. They know you, and you know me. After each encounter, you’ll go running back to them.”
“I won’t. I won’t tell.”
“Liar.” The villain whispered, smiling.
“Then take me from their memories, too.”
There it was.
“Hero!” The whitecoat protested, their voice turning firm. “Hero, no.”
“You,” the villain rounded on them. “Stay quiet.” They turned back to the hero. “You’re sure that’s what you want?”
With pursed lips, the hero answered. “I have a feeling there wasn’t much of a choice to begin with.”
“Very well.”
The whitecoat felt the invisible hold on them release, but that freedom didn’t last long. The villain was on them, and with a single word, their consciousness faded.
