In my head Spencer has both telekinesis and telepathy, but he can only read minds if he's touching the person. In this au that would be another reason on top of germs that he dislikes handshakes and so on because reading people's minds without being prepared for the onslaught of thoughts feelings and memories from other people would be rather overwhelming.

first of she’s from earth 1213 where superhero’s and supervillans don’t exist & if they somehow ‘miraculously’ do exist they are shunned by the world—that’s why there isn’t superheroes anywhere to be seen because they are most likely hiding their true selves.

she had already had telekinetic powers every since she was very young!! she was raised and born to a mexican mother and an african american father!! her first language was spanish then later on as she gotten older she’d learned english

currently a college student in her 20s!! the timeline takes present day 2023–she studies computer science at a prestigious university & works as a barista at her university’s coffee shop <3

she was bitten by a radioactive spider when she got out the shower 😭 & she didn’t know she was bitten after she saw a red lump on her knee but she brushed it off until her spider abilities on top of telekinetic ones manifested

her hero name is starlight spider & her suit consists of golden outlines and pink stars ✨ that glitter her suit—she got it tailored and had her artist friend design it for her (they’re the only ones who know her true identity)

her parents are long gone so she only has herself and she’s trying her best to juggle her college and hero life—it’s hard at times but with the help of her roommate she’s able to persevere 😣

now her telepathic abilities are a strong one—she’s able to levitate (float but can’t fly for long distances) short distance teleportation, can manipulate and control objects with just her mind, very good with creating strong energy fields & a telepathic <3 but for her spider abilities she uses webshooters, has increased speed and agility, increased strength, spider senses (don’t rly need em when you’re a telekinetic) can do pretty much what a spider can do <3

extremely flexible…she does gymnastics 🤸🏽‍♀️ and does yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️ to help center herself and it’s kind of an escape from her reality

miguel had an eye on her because he was curious and surprise to stumble upon a spider person with telekinesis—he eventually comes to her earth and scouts her…she’s very stubborn and snarky at first but agrees to join

i’d like to think that she would challenge him and be reluctant to follow him and in a way it’s a game of push and pull between them; she keeps him on his toes while he simply puts up with her because it’s something he looks forward to everyday

at first they wouldn’t get along pretty well just because they both think differently and are polar opposites 😭

when they do start to get along they form a rare bond it’s just an unspoken thing between them and many of the spider people don’t get how 2 diff people have a thing for each other but they make it work

miguel would be cautious of her but NEVER underestimates her just because she’s a rare gem and has such cool powers & a lot of the spider people admire her for that—she’d be close to spider people who have unique abilities like her tbh !!

she’s super close to the spidey gang and probably has a soft spot for miles, margo, & gwen LOL + hobie & pav would treat her as a sibiling more so :p

Babble

The villain dodged the chair that was thrown at them.

For the state that they were in, the hero was unusually strong.

“We’re not doing this again, are we, starling?”

“Let me go and we won’t have to!”

The villain sighed and set down the tray of food, readying themselves in a fighting stance.

“Come on then.” They invited. “Get it out of your system.”

There was no fight to be had, not really. The hero was powerless now, and while they had slightly above average strength, they still couldn’t hold a candle to the villain’s. It didn’t help that the villain had a speed and grace that the hero never had, even before the loss of their powers.

“Are you done?” The villain asked, pinning the hero to the wall.

“Screw you!” The hero barked out, breathing heavily from the fight.

“I’ll take that as a yes.” They released the hero. “We need to run more tests today. I think I’m close to deciphering what entered your bloodstream. Once that’s done, I’ll reverse it, you’ll go back to your old self, everyone’s happy.”

“I don’t need your tests. And I don’t want this sick version of help!”

“Yes, because you wandering deliriously in the street doesn’t warrant a need for help. Could you imagine if some civilian had found you babbling on about your heroic identity?”

“I’m not delirious anymore, and I don’t babble! Let me leave.”

The villain crossed their arms. “You know the conditions, starling. I fix you, you tell me how it happened, then you can go.”

Huffing, the hero sat on their provided bed. “Go to hell. I’m not telling you anything.”

“Then you’re not leaving.”

“And you’re not running anymore tests, Villain. You hear me? I’m tired of it.”

One could almost feel it when a villain became angry, something in the air itself changed, becoming thicker, a storm readying to destroy.

“It isn’t up for debate, starling. We need to figure this out.”

“No, we don’t.” The hero’s voice was cold. “I’m done being a hero.”

That thoroughly shocked the villain, though they would never show it.

“No.” They said simply. “No, you’re not.”

“That isn’t for you to decide.”

“It is when you’re in my care. Eat. I don’t want you lightheaded when I run the blood test.”

“I said I won’t do it. Consider this my retirement plan.”

The villain scoffed. “Being pathetic and powerless is your retirement plan? Come now, starling–”

“You don’t get it.” The hero stood. “You’ve never had to deal with this, you’ve never understood the strain of being a telepath. I don’t want my powers back.”

There was an eerie silence as the villain put two and two together.

“You did this to yourself.” They knew better than to phrase it as a question. “You took away your own powers.”

The hero didn’t look at the villain. “I wasn’t supposed to end up on the street. It wasn’t supposed to make me delirious. You weren’t supposed to find me.”

“But I did, and you better be grateful to have someone willing to fix this for you and not let you burn in the fire of your own mistake. Do you know how easy it would be for me to find out who you are? Your friends? Family? What if I wanted revenge? Consider yourself lucky that I don’t.”

“Then what do you get out of this?”

The villain didn’t answer that. “I’m sorry that telepathy’s caused you such pain, but you don’t get to quit. That’s not fair to the people who depend on you. Eat. I won’t ask again.”

It was a fight when the villain drew blood, another struggle when they tried to inject the new serum into the hero.

And in the end, the hero cried from voices that were never their own.

This little siren song ensnared a dear friend of mine, who in turn used it to hook me as well. Music was a huge catalyst in those early stages of our friendship, and continues to be a core pillar, and it all more or less started Here. From the first moment making art in my dark bedroom, to the full circle tied-bow of hearing the song physically together live as an acoustic on a small venue patio, and all the moments in-between and after, This song and this band and a little sprinkle of magic from the universe have brought us both to grow and make steps and take chances that we never would have before, either in the name of art or friendship or not passing up an opportunity for something thats “meant to be”. Whichever it is in each moment, some aspect of it can almost always be traced back Here. And I truly cant put into words what kind of weight that gives this song to me, like, I drew this art over a month ago but kept stalling out on posting because I would think about what to say and physically stall out like a vintage computer. GIFs belong to the X-Men: Dark Phoenix movie, I am using them as references for how my own telekinetic/telepathic OCs use their powers, though turning things into dust is the telekinetic part of their powers. This is why when I first make an OC, I use this first before anything else. I am obsessed with telekinetic/telepathic mutants/metahumans which is why Friday the 13th: New Blood was my favorite movie.

Ancardia's Unusual Animals--The Gandangarra

Classification: Extinct Beast (fish)

Habitat: The earliest ages of the Underground.

            The Gandangarra, translated from Ancient Dwarven as “the Rainbow Serpent”, is a powerful and telepathic species of enormous aquatic life in the Underground that once existed, and was part of the basis of many cultural practices of the natives of the Underground. It is believed the last of the species’ adults died out sometime in the early 2nd Age, and partially fossilized remains have been recovered by Dwarven and Dark Elven expeditions since that time in the deep lakebeds of Yuan’gl province which confirm quite a bit about the historical records (as far as can be confirmed by bones).

            The Gandangarra are known by many names. Dark Elven generally uses the term “Julungur”, derived from the Gnollish Ogrish name for the creatures, “Uungur”. Koboldi Ogrish calls them “Kanmaruh”, while Orcish dialects based on the later names for them use the term “Gunmagurgh”. The Ancient Stone Giant word, roughly pronounced in modern languages as “Witija”, is now thought to be the first name given to such a creature.

            While imperial interests do not give much credence to the archeological studies of the Underground, given that similar zoological and botanical records made by explorers and other writers of the time have shone through as being very applicable to modern Ages, much can be known about the great Gandangarra from recordings of the time it was a living species. The first thing that was apparent was its great intelligence, curiosity, and immense size. Modern estimates based on adult fossils that have been uncovered reflect an average reported in ancient manuscripts and tablets as between 10 and 20 meters in length, with a 2.5 meter skull. While the Gandangarra was apparently omnivorous, if obstructed with towns, fishing camps, and tribal fisheries, it would be ready to make deals and exchanges in order to ensure peace between its own species and the humanoids it was dealing with; a common trade was a slaughtered deepmara or riding lizard per year for twenty days of favorable shellfish diving and fishing conditions, with no competition at all. The scales and hide of this creature are widely written of as being a brilliant mixture of hues—often catching the slightest lighting and casting great prisms on all nearby surfaces, but with some soft black and expressive markings around the eyes and uppermost fins. Another certain thing is that these massive fish were fully telepathic, able to communicate with any other sentient being within a 50 meter range or simply by eye contact.

            The ecology of the Gandangarra remains mostly a mystery. The exchanges offered by early cultures to local gandangarra imply that it was at the very least omnivorous, if not carnivorous, but based on a lack of reports of attacks on many humanoids or domesticated creatures, implies the carnivory it displayed was not of a hunter or ambush type but more aligned with an opportunistic or scavenger sort. The exact means of courting or breeding remains unknown, as do the most preferred habitats for the beast. Fossils of these enormous eel-like fish can still be uncovered in various regions and which are especially valuable to Dweragh, Orcish, and Draulfyn archeological associations for study.
