Ink both hates and loves being the protector of universes. He loves them so much, loves going around watching all their stories, keeping record of every little change and branch that comes from them. Is hard work, especially for someone as scatterbrain as him. 

But he doesn’t mind that too much. No the worst part for them is the actual “protection” aspect.

Sometimes, either by outsiders influence or just because the multiverse decided Ink deserved the worst that day, someone from a random au would get out and go who knows where. The disappearing part wasn’t that concerning, if it was a glitch they knew Error would fix it. But when that wasn’t it he had to try and find them.

When they do, and if they didn’t caused too much havoc Ink is like “haha, funny what you did back there, you are so silly, now  go back, please just go back, stay there-” it stresses him out so much. 

He usually gives up after a while when they escape their au for like the third time or so, so he forces a reset (basically replacing them) and calls it a day. Out-codes are a nightmare to them, one would think protecting a whole world would be easier than just a person, but Ink would disagree. And as it it’s they can barely take care of themselves, another whole independent being is too much. 

He disappears for a while to vent by their various unfinished art projects. Sometimes Error would kidnap him to lecture him for giving him more work.

En esa misma silla donde él era el primero en llegar y el último en sentarse, yendo tras ella.

Sólo con la imagen en su mente de un collar de perlas, cabello rubio, labios maquillados, así como podía también vislumbrar perfectamente la cabeza de ese niño rubio que salvó. Y la razón de por qué estaba ahí sentado, ajeno a ese rostro femenino que conoció tan bien.

“ ¡𝘒𝘦𝘯𝘻𝘰̂, 𝘭𝘢 𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘱𝘢 𝘧𝘶𝘦 𝘮𝘪́𝘢! “

Pensó por un instante… aquella situación no distaba mucho de cualquier convaleciente que recurría a él, extendiendo su mano para que lo rescatase y así recuperar su vida.

Pero con ella… con Eva, diciéndole mientras su mano trataba de tomar la suya, que no se imaginaba la vida sin él y sin embargo, él ya con la única vida que imaginaba era sin ella.

Y sólo supo quedarse callado, sin atender a su ruego, sin observarla.

“ ¡𝘒𝘦𝘯𝘻𝘰̂! “ escuchó una vez más, alejándose de la escena.

Había sido el Dr. Tenma para su padre, y Kenzô sólo con ella.

Como el Dr. Tenma siempre iba a estar para sus pacientes, siempre iba saber qué hacer, qué decir, pero como Kenzô no lo sabía.

Y cada vez la escuchaba mucho más lejos.
