Note
think about it
interest swap - each of the characters gain the hobbies and interests of their server and pass on their own to their client, their personality doesn't change much and they treat it in a same/similar way to their original.
(this'll also affect sprites)
the goal is to change what the kids like but not how they like it
for example, in this universe
John: likes to write long winded reviews or analyses about trashy wizard and cosmic horror books he likes, he specifically likes to analyze characters and the psychology in the writing. He loves making references to the books he likes. His sprite is a one armed wizard statue fused with nana
Jade: likes comedy and pranks, and trashy movies. she has a great understanding of comedy and the nuances of it, has it down to a science pretty much. And she also really likes trashy movies, thinking of them as if they're really deep and meaningful. Her sprite fuses with taxidermy jade and the stuffed bunny
Dave: furry, it was inevitable tbh, he's into science and tech, probably keeps up with news about technology advancements and stuff, but he's not a genius with it or anything. He's also into gardening, he's pretty bad at it but he loves the very few plants he manages to keep alive very much. his sprite is a guardian tiger fused (who was NOT his) with alternate timeline dave (Cal would, unfortunately, be a blue lamp or something of a woman, which Dirk brings everywhere he goes ironically, and also because it contains the influence of a homestuck obsessed super fan (yes in this AU Calliope hates homestuck and Caliborn loves it))
Rose: raps, calls it slam poetry or musical poetry or something like that, definitely doesn't call it rapping. She's a nerd for irony like Dave, but more in her sarcastic mind games tone, she loves drawing shitty ironic comics that look like they're trying to be like old newspaper comics from the 20th century, her main comic is a garfield knockoff but with jaspers. her sprite is a cake with problem sleuth drawn on with icing, which I am declaring is an old comic of the likes of garfield and calvin and hobbes in this AU (unless if a better idea presents itself to fit this role), fused with jaspers
thoughts?
oooh i LOVE these!!! i love how the characters are still themselves in this ask, rather than "rose dialogue on john sprite" that i saw in a lot of old bloodswaps. i love keeping their core traits and having their environment bend around them to suit those traits, rather than their core traits changing because of the environment theyre in.
i especially love the idea of rose making ironic parodies of newspaper comic strips. she seems like someone whod really enjoy r/imsorryjon and other weird garfield media.
and yeah. dave is already a closet furry if he was raised on an island hed just embrace it.

My wrists gave out really bad this month, which tracks, but is super disheartening because I did want to do more for Mermay... I can barely hold a pencil right now, and the stabilizer is doing 90% of my work for me digitally. So I tried inking something from last year where the sketch is already handled, but this is as far as I could get.
To be honest, I’m in a really bad place right now, and not being able to draw or write without agony is making it much worse. Just an endless despair cycle. I’ve been trying to keep the Mental Illness posting off of my blog, but we’re all going through it anyway, right?
I like how this was turning out. I hope I won’t be in too much pain to finish it.
Tiger’s story is heavily tied into wish-fulfillment about coming out the other side of terrible times and getting to start a happily ever after that doesn’t fall apart. Rooting for you, Tigs.

tentative base-level understanding of silicate minerals:
quartz: it's quartz. preferably formed in clear crystals; often has stuff in it.
quartz with Stuff that is clearly identifiable and completely separate: append whatever the stuff is onto the name; rutilated quartz is quartz with rutile. hematoid quartz is quartz with hematite, etc.
quartz if the Stuff makes it transparent and purple: amethyst
if yellow because of iron: yellow quartz
if yellow because of heat: citrine
if pink: rose quartz
if gray: smoky quartz
if green: prase/prasiolite
if more opaque and white: milk quartz
if translucent and looks almost glittery: aventurine. the glitter is mica flakes; the rest of the stone is usually green, but there are a bunch of other color varieties.
if completely opaque and not white: jasper. usually warm colors but it varies heavily; has ten billion varients based on appearance and source.
quartz that's clear, cloudy, or pale blue, with stripes or fiberous looking things inside: chalcedony. the inclusions are morganite.
chalcedony but it's red/orange and mostly clear: carnelian
chalcedony but it's any other color and the bands are curved: agate. has a billion subvarieties based on color and source.
but the bands are straight: onyx. this is also used as a colloquial descriptor for other things that have bands and/or are black, which gets confusing very quickly.
chalcedony that's mostly clear with no banding but has an inclusion that's green and looks like a tree: moss agate. not technically a type of agate, those need banding.
if the tree inclusion isn't green: dendritic agate. still not an actual agate.
chalcedony but it has veritcal striations and a weird shimmery optical illusion effect: tiger's eye. usually orange/brown, can be a bunch of other shades too.
there's definitely more but those are the major ones.

Hawk's eye! it is a low-iron form of tiger's eye that has a wonderful dark blue-grey color to it! It is crocidolite, which is a heavily compressed form of asbestos! may include bands of hematite and jasper as well!
