as far as being a yandere goes, eda is absolutely terrifying in how her obsession towards you manifests — after all, she has no reputation to threaten, no job to lose, and she’s spent decades outmanoeuvring the emperor’s coven so the chances of her ever getting caught and punished for her actions is so close to nothing that it’s basically negligent

combine all of that with her emotionally volatile cursed form and her scarily loyal house demon, hooty, and you’ve basically got zero chance of escaping her once she’s finally got you in her grasp

she’d been watching you for a long time before she snapped, living vicariously through you as you went about your day as a normal citizen — covertly following you as you ran errands, staying outside of your home and listening to you as you go about your daily routine, sneaking into your home to watch you sleep, and so on

she knew your schedule like the back of her hand, talked about you constantly to king and hooty, and didn’t even consider taking you until king suggested it — like it was the most normal thing in the world — and so she did (the very same day in fact — even though she was woefully unprepared, but she wasn’t exactly known for thinking ahead when she did things, so this wasn’t too out of the ordinary for her)

outside of the kidnapping and refusal to let you leave her home, your relationship is shockingly typical and easy to adjust to — you find yourself getting used to the regular chaos of the owl house without even realising, even, until it feels more ‘normal’ than your previous life and you start to hate how much you ‘love’ your ‘new family’

she uses pet names for you, jokes around with you, is affectionate and mischievous in equal measure, and makes sure that you’re provided for as best she can — she’s very obviously enamoured by you, but she still doesn’t open up to you, not really

she knows everything about you and you know almost nothing about her, which makes conversations difficult and one sided — the most you figure out is that she’s cursed (because she leaves her potions everywhere), that she’s a wild witch (because you’d seen her wanted posters around bonesborough for years), and that she has a sister in the emperor’s coven (because you heard them arguing at the door when you were still trapped in the upstairs room — but she was long gone before you had the chance to call for help), but as far as her personality and life beyond that went she was incredibly guarded and avoided answering questions about it however she could

if it weren’t for how physically affectionate and flirty she was with you, you might have felt more like an object to stare at than someone who she cared for (in her own, twisted way)

at least you had king and hooty to keep you company, who were both orders of magnitude more open and genuine with you than eda was — with them both giving you more insight into the life of your captor and providing you with good company and laughter as best they can

(king in particular looks to you as a playmate and even a sort of parental figure, and you usually spend the days where eda’s at the market playing with and tending to him — he particularly loves cooking and baking with you and has been known to curl up on your lap and fall asleep after a particularly long day)

you rarely ever get a glimpse into eda’s curse, only having heard the basics from hooty and eda herself, but one notable encounter was the first and last time you tried to escape from her — the stress and anger and upset felt all mixing inside of her until she snapped and you ended up being hunted down by a furious owl beast, which caught you soon enough and nearly mauled you to death before she regained control

she used potions and spells to heal you as best as she could, but some scars, both mental and physical, still remain and act as a visceral reminder of what awaits you if you try to flee — the pain never leaving you even as you fully acclimatise to your new life, no longer trying to fight back

because next time she might not be able to stop herself

because next time the owl beast might not be as merciful as she tries to reassure you that it is

because next time might be the last time

and, at least, by staying with her you still have a chance of being able to see your loved ones again, however small that chance might actually be — because a small chance is still better than what you would have if you were killed

besides, this new human, luz, seems to be softening her up quite a bit so you might have a better chance than you thought — and, either way, you don’t mind her company (she’s a fun kid, after all)

"Shit, shit, shit!!"

Curses slipped from your lips as you scrambled up to your feet and broke into a sprint. Why did you have to get involved in all this? Guards, witches, the emperors coven. So many bad decisions.

You just wanted a glimpse into the castle, to meet your idol and Emperor Belos before you took the entrance exam to be one of his guards. After all, it wasn't everyday a human was excepted into the emperor's coven. Especially after Luz made it seem that all humans would chose wild magic. No Offense to her, she's your bestie but WOW was your reputation tarnished from that. And now look at you, getting chased by the golden guard just cause you happened to walk into a private contact between the two. Death was probably garenteed at this point, so turning yourself in was out of the question.

You're poor legs were pounding and throbbing in pain as the adrenaline that once courses through your veins began to fade once you couldn't hear the pitter patter of the golden guards feet anymore. You heaved and panted, your lungs burning as if someone has personally grabbed and squeezed them. Your steps began to slow down as you found yourself in a new room of the castle, one you've never seen before...at least not in the tours they usually give at schools.

It was, uh....hard to describe. Especially for a human who didn't even belong in this world. But it appears to try to be imitating the cluttered mess that a office holds.

Not like the room seemed all that useful in escaping. But there was however one thing in the room that had peeked (Y/N)'s interest though.

It was the slighty cracked window above a desk that shined some light in the room. Even if it was just moonlight-

"Maybe if I can climb the desk-" You muttered to yourself, though paused just I'm case someone might've heard. Once you were sure no one heard, you started to make your way past the piles of garbage and towards the table. You quickly hiked one leg over and on the desk and then another before gazing down at the ground from the window to see how steep the fall would be when you jumped.

Spoiler alert? Pretty fuckin' steep.

Though, seeing as how Luz had taught you levitation, it couldn't be hard to just make yourself float down.

With a shaky sigh, your hands grinned at the end of the cold window that had begun to collect some of the droplets of rain from the sky.

Push!!

.....Nothing.

Okay, how about pushing harder?

..........Nothing.

Pulling?

.............Nothing.

You hissed in annoyance before shuffling a bit to the side to get at it with an angle.

Before you could even push this time, you yelped and almost fell off the desk from a cold, almost metallic feeling striking your leg. (E/C) orbs snapped to the leg to see that the cause of such a feeling was a small little...slab.

It had some stuff engraved on it, though it wasn't like you could see it well with eye only lighting in the room being the pale moonlight the window provided.

.....

Oh well, back to the grind, gamers!! Time to open that window!

And how lucky you are!! With a couple of pushes, you actually got it to pop open this time!

Thoough, when has anything ever gone completely right for you?

The slab you kinda stepped on was now warm- not just room temperature warm, but almost scoltching hot.

You bit down on you lip to hold back a scream and quickly acted on instinct, causing for you to kick the....rock? Off the table and onto the dusty floor.

Smoke puffed up as if someone just lit something on fire from just the dust, though that appeared to be the least of your worries.

The....slab?? Rock? Ah, whatever- now had a long, completely pitch black shadow rising from under it and growing to the point where it crawled up the floors and onto the walls.

The cold embrace of the wet grass below the castle is looking so tempting right now-

Your gaze shakily followed the eerily person shaped shadow before resting on what you assumed was the shadows face.

.....

"BOO!!"

Light suddenly shined on the shadow, forming two eyes and a way to big grin. You couldn't even bite back the scream that creeped out of your throat from the scare.

The shadow seemed to take some glee out of your fear, snickering and pointing at you before morphing it's body to mock/recreate your reaction.

"That's what you get, meanie!! Kicking me to the floor, for shame!!" For shame!! What even are ya, anyway- ooooh, another human!! I've seen one of those before!~ Doesn't mean I'll let ya' off scott-free for your crime against me though!"

The figure twisted a bit, giving a disapproving shake of its head before cracking into a fit of laughter yet again.

Blink.

Blink.

You tried to blink the figure away but everytime you open your eyes, it's still there.

"What the fuck....?"

You whispered, barely audible which seemed to make the shadow stop it's hyena like giggle fit.

Now that silence had filled the air of the room, you were allowed the chance to hear the sounds coming from the halls.

You're heart almost stopped as you realized there was a sound of footsteps getting closer to the door.

A yelp of surprise escaped your slightly parted lips as you scrambled to hide under the desk.

'Shit!! I was too loud! That was probably the golden guard!' You internally kicked yourself for probably causing your stoning.

....

....

The door hasn't opened.

"Sheeesh!! Paranoid, much? It's probably just a guar-" The shadow paused as it's mind seemed to realize something, it's grin widening even more (if that's even possible) from that realization.

"Ooooo!!! You're not supposed to be here! You're gonna get in trouuublee!~" It sang out. Far too loudly, might you add. Almost as if it wanted to get caught.

You quickly shushed the creature before crawling out of your spot and hopping back up on the table.

"Shush!! If I get caught, I'm taking you down with me! I'll-i-i'll- I'll say you helped hide me!" You gritted your teeth and whisper-yelled at the....demon?

The shadow snorted before traveling across the room's walls, stopping once it hit the wall with the window on it.

"HA! Like Belos would believe that!"

Wait- Was Belos connected to this...thing?

You looked up at the shadow, puzzled. Well, that was until you heard the bang of what you could only assume was cause of the golden guard.

"Shit!! No time to talk!"

You hiked a leg over the window, which seemed to through the teasing and playful shadow person into a panic.

"WAIT!! Don leave!!don't uh....Dont jump out there!! There are guards AALLL around that spot down below!"

The shadow shifted and regained it's composure, now being your shadow itself, though still keeping it's previous form.

"I mean. I doooo know another way out~ But I only let my frieends know that route!"

The demon smiled as if they had you in a checkmate, though you simply shrugged.

"If I can evade the golden guard himself, I can evade the guards below!"

A gust of both wind and rain rushed to your face as suddenly, the window slammed shut, almost snapping down on your fingers in the process.

"Cmoon, just play along!! You did just toss me to the floor! I just want new friends and to okay some new games!! Belos only wants to play his games!! It's so unfair!" The demon(?) You once feared was pouting and whining like a spoiled little brat. You'd love nothing more to just tell him- wait, is it even a him? It doesn't seem to have a...bah! Unimportant!! anyways, you'd love nothing more to just tell it to suck a fat one and jump out the window, but with how loud they're being, you'd most surely get caught.

"Okay, okay!! Shhh! You have to be quiet though! I'll be your friend and we can play games as we go to the escape route, but you have to keep your voice down. The golden guard will hear us and he'll be out for my head!"

The creature beamed...it was hard to believe it's whining and sadness was real with how easily it got it's smile back.

"Sounds like a deal!!"

You scrunched up your nose.

"Yeeeaah, I don't do "deals" with shadow-demon-people."

That's Demon-ist.

"Hmm- okay!! Then let's make it a pinky promise then!!" The shadow extended a hand, as if trying to seperate itself from the wall to outstretch it's pinky. The attempt was futile though.

"Oh, jeez. I'm gonna regret this.."

Despite your words, you outstretched your hand to do the same.

And regret it you did!

But, at least you can get out somewhat safely now..

First of all, let's get one thing out there. This relationship is abusive. Like, nothing about it is healthy.

He never expected to have romantic relations on the isles- and well, granted you really didn't initiate anything besides just being a loyal follower that was also not afraid to not put up with his bullshit, but the man is old and never had a crush ever in his life so he assumed you were using witch temptress/er powers or whatever.

Despite saying he would never stoop to such levels and wouldn't dare fall to such obvious tricks, guess who was the one who confessed?

It was an awkward confession and it sounded more like he was accusing you of casting some cruel love spell.

Mf fucking kins the hellfire song.

If your a witch, he will go out of his way to slight you slightly to where you just think you have bad luck. It doesn't matter if he does genuinely love you, a part of him will still hate your witch side.

If your human, he is noticeably kinder cause he's racist like that/hj

He is very controlling and obsessive of his SO and will not let them in on his plans unless he knows they are 100% loyal to him.

Manipulation has practically became an addiction of his so even if he does actually love you, he will manipulate you into doing dirty work for him.

He rarely shows any physical affection. He might give you a kiss on the cheek once in a blue moon but that's it.

Unless you really, really want it and won't stop whining, he will absolutely not cuddle nor just lay down and spend a lazy day with you. Every day should be productive in his eyes.

If you know anything about memes and call him "peepaw" he will be so confused.

Like ??? You two have been dating for forever now, of course he's not your peepaw/grandpa.

Once he kinda gets it, he may just give you a playful nickname back, but thats more so to just get back at you for doing that.

Something that's kinda wholesome is that if he has permission to dress you up, he likes to try and dress you like you were in the 1700's.

He isn't very alarmed at others making moves on you. He's aware of his status and he knows if he just so much as looks at the suitors, they'd take off.

Though, if you get too much attention he might just decide to keep you in the castle more often.

Hanahaki Disease (花吐き病)

For those that don't know Hanahaki Disease is a fictional disease where a person spits up flower petals if they like somebody/ have found who they think is their soulmate. As time goes on the petals turn to full fledged flowers growing from the heart. If the love is one-sided then the person chokes to death on the flowers, the petals filling their lungs. If it's mutual the disease fades away.

Platonic soulmates spit up their partners/friends petals. They are non-dangerous but the petals can rot or wilt over time if the relationship fades. Romantic soulmates spit up petals and grow flowers from their lungs until the person confesses. Once the confessions been made petals will occasionally show with strong emotions.

you ran through the cluttered hallways of the Owl House, your heart pounding in your chest. Fear gripped your every step as you desperately sought refuge from the relentless pursuit of Luz, your lover.

You burst into Eda's cluttered room, gasping for breath. "what are you doing up here?" Eda asked, raising an eyebrow. Tears welled up in your eyes as you explained how Luz had captured you, her obsession turning dangerous.

You pleaded for Eda and King's help, hoping they could calm Luz down and set you free. Eda and King exchanged a look before responding. Eda promised to help and said they should come up with a plan. You felt a weight lift off your shoulders as Eda and King took charge of the situation.

She led you to a hidden section of the house, a place even Luz didn't know about. Relief washed over you as you thought of escaping Luz's clutches.

But as Eda opened the door, your heart sank. Inside, you saw some old stuff-a blanket, the light glyphs Luz had given you, and worst of all, broken shackles. Panic set in as you realized that Eda might not be on your side.

When you stammered, "I'm here," Eda pushed you in the back, and you hit your head, and you blacked out...

When you woke up, you found yourself in the middle of a heated argument between Luz and Eda. Luz accused Eda of almost killing her, and Eda retorted, "You should be thankful she's still here."

Confusion and betrayal washed over you. It was then that you realized Eda had been helping Luz, not you.

Your struggle with this revelation didn't go unnoticed by the family, and they approached you, concerned.

Luz's eyes sparkled with delight as she hugged you tightly, relieved to have her love interest back in her arms. King, with a grin, welcomed you as another sibling-in-law. Eda, her heart softened, welcomed you as a new addition to her family.

You started hyperventilating, trying to get out of the bonds they trapped you in. Luz released you and you stepped back, feeling embarrassed. Eda gave you a warm smile and King a simpering chuckle.

You tried getting up and rubbing last him, but he pushed you off. Luz and Eda both gave you a stern look. "Well arn't you rude?" eda mumbled

Luz shook her head, disappointment clear on her face. "We won't be able to trust you if you run away every time we're in a situation like this," she said. You begged to be set free but they only ignored that, Luz hugged you, happy to have you.."I want to have you...forever"

Luz pulled away and smiled, tears streaming down her face. She gave you a gentle kiss on the cheek and said, "I promise, this will be the last time you do this." She said sternly.
