ramp up the angst by reader suddenly agreeing that ‘yes, it is the last time’ coz she’s tired of all the sneaking, feeling empty after dbf!simon leaves, and wanting to feel loved and to love freely in return.
let’s force simon to make the move and to choose between love and friendship. 😈
ANON. UR MIND.
Loving Simon is tiring. You can give and give, and he'll do is take, never giving back even when you're empty. Kept a secret, he only dares to show you affection when he wants something out of you. Cuddles come with groping, and while sex is nice... it's difficult not to want more when you've been in love with him for years.
He was right, it was the last time. The last time until he learns how to grow a pair and decide what's best for both of you. Any cuddles he wants to give you finish as soon as he starts to grope you, pushing him away and telling him you're not in the mood. He's a patient man, way too patient and understanding, yet being rejected by you every single time he tries to initiate things is new.
''Gonna tell me what's your problem?'' He ambushes you once your father leaves to go to the store, arms crossed across his chest and blocking your way out of the room. Simon never uses his body to intimidate you on purpose or get in your way, but he knows you'll avoid conversation unless he does so.
''I don't have a problem.'' You bite the inside of your cheek, crossing your arms as well as you look up at him. The sight is nothing short of adorable, the urge to pinch your cheeks and shake you around passing through his mind, though it's cut short pretty fast.
''That's bollocks.'' He points out, walking closer to you and forcing you to crane your neck just to keep eye contact. You let out a frustrated sigh, eyebrows furrowed as you look up at him.
''Fine. Want to know what my fucking problem is?'' He stays quiet, simply nodding once in acknowledgement.
''You are my problem, Simon. You just... came into my life and ruined it.'' If he's affected by your words, his stoic expression is doing a great job at hiding it.
''You ruined me for everyone else. Can't date, can't flirt, can't even think about hooking up with someone to forget about you because they're not worth it— they're not you.'' There's tears rimming your eyes as you speak, trying to keep them in until you look away and a choked sob escapes your lips, the dam finally breaking as you sit down in bed, pathetically making yourself smaller for him even when it's not necessary.
''No one will ever be like you and I— I don't know what to do, Simon. I fucking love you, but you treat me like I'm... like I'm just a toy.'' Your hands go up to cover your face, not allowing him the pleasure of seeing the tears roll down your cheeks and the pained expression on your face.
Silence.
It's quiet for what feels like forever until he crouches down in front of you, hands grasping your wrists and moving them away from your face. He cups your cheeks as soon as he sees the trail of tears staining your pretty skin, soft kisses planted all over your face while all you can do is let him.
'''M sorry.'' He mutters once he's done kissing you all over, face hiding on the crook of your neck as he lets out a soft sigh, preparing himself to make a decision once and for all.
''Your old man means the world to me. You know that, yeah?'' He keeps going once you nod your head, one hand holding yours while the other runs up and down your back soothingly.
''And you mean the world to him. Hell, you mean the world to me. I know it's fuckin' stupid, but I'm scared he'll keep you away from me.'' Your small scoff earns you a chuckle coming out of his lips, looking up just to see the pretty frown on your lips.
''Like hell he will. He'll be happy if... if we date, you know? No one treats me the way you do.'' You manage to speak despite the tears, drying your eyes with the sleeve of your hoodie— his hoodie.
''I know.'' He whispers softly, brown eyes shining with understanding. He's so vulnerable and so fucking scared he almost feels pathetic.
''I know.'' He repeats, sitting down next to you and holding you on his lap, as close to him as possible while your face is buried on his chest.
''... I'll tell him.'' He promises, planting a small kiss on your forehead, unaware of the man listening to the conversation with a small smile on his lips. He knows, of course he knows.

Woe out the Storm (3) - Thunder
Tumblr media
Wednesday Addams x female Reader
Summary: It took some time, but eventually you came to realize only Wednesday Addams could look at the raging storm of chaos and destruction and make a home out of it. Only she could listen to the cacophony of the roaring thunder and hear a melody.
Story warnings: Wednesday Addams, violence, slow burn
Story Masterlist / First part / Previous part / Next part
Word count: 3.3k
-I was lightning before the thunder-
The Harvest Festival, frankly, you preferred it over the Outreach Day, for plenty of reasons. One of which was easily the fact you could just kick back and relax instead of working for people that despised everything you and other students were against your free will.
The only issue was you couldn't relax this year. Wednesday would escape tonight, meaning tonight was Rowan's last chance to try something.
And then there was Galpin... Talking with his father. Now, you did hear he stopped bullying people with the other three, but you found it difficult to forgive and forget.
You frowned and looked at Wednesday. "Really, Galpin is the one driving you?" you couldn't help but ask.
"I don't see how it concerns you," Wednesday replied.
You nodded, simply choosing to back away. Wednesday wasn't helpless, and who she interacted with definitely didn't have anything to do with you.
"Obvious dislike aside, are you sure you can trust that normie?" Enid asked, though she did send you a bit of a teasing smile.
"I trust that I can handle myself," Wednesday replied. Considering what she did against Bianca you found it difficult to disagree.
"Well, good luck and safe travels," Enid stepped toward her with her arms spread wide, only for Wednesday to decisively take a step back. "Still not a hugger. Got it," Enid shrugged, smiling at the girl.
"If you change your mind a third of that room is going to stay yours," you grinned.
"Until Weems puts someone else in," Wednesday told you.
Your grin turned into a smirk as you lifted your hand up and allowed a few sparks to appear around it. Just for a moment you thought you saw a spark of interest in Wednesday's eyes as she observed the sparks. "Nope, I'll personally make them ask for another room." you promised.
Enid coughed and elbowed your side.
You winced. She sometimes forgot her strength. "Nicely, of course, I'll keep my lightning to myself."
Wednesday tilted her head to the side by less than an inch. "Pity," she said.
You leaned to the side, shifting most of your weight to your right foot, you weren't sure how to take those words. "Since I won't be seeing you again, I, uh, I think you're great with the cello," there, a compliment to end the brief time together. That shouldn't make Wednesday uncomfortable, right?
Her eyes met yours and you felt a shiver run down your spine at the intensity of her stare. "Thank you," she eventually spoke up and the three of you parted ways soon after.
The moment Wednesday was out of sight Enid clasped your shoulder and smiled sympathetically. "I'm so sorry, Y/N."
"Huh?"
"You don't have to pretend, I don't get what you see in her, but you don't have to hide it from me," somehow Enid got the wrong idea.
You sighed. This was your life now. Enid thought you had unrequited feelings for Wednesday. "Look, I know I can't change your mind," she enthusiastically nodded at that. "So, I’ll take a page out of Wednesday's book, somewhat. If you gossip about those feelings you claim I have, I'll fry your stuffed unicorn collection."
Enid squealed and bounced excitedly. "OMG! You do have feelings for her!" she wasn't going to let this go and you didn't even know how she came to that conclusion! Her eyes widened suddenly. "Go after her! Go!" in less than a second she was behind you and pushing you in the direction Wednesday went. "At least find a way to exchange letters with her if you can't convince her to stay!"
"Enid," you groaned, facepalming as you dug your feet into the ground to try and keep her from pushing you. All that achieved was two rows of dug up ground behind you. From the corner of your eye you saw Rowan, even more agitated and anxious than he was back when you confronted him in his and Xavier's room. "I have to go," you said, moving so abruptly Enid stumbled and almost fell to the ground.
~X~
Wednesday only touched Rowan for a moment, but it was more than enough. She saw flashes, glimpses of what was to come, all vague and unrelated, painting a picture she couldn't understand. She saw the purple book, the flames, the tree in the quad breaking into pieces, the raven surrounded by lightning, a glimpse of a blonde woman holding a bloodied hand and crying as blue eyes closed, red eyes turning orange, herself surrounded by cloud of dust and smoke with a huge beast surrounded by lightning standing over her trapping her, Rowan screaming as he was being torn apart by claws. And then the vision stopped
"Rowan, come back!" she ran after him, ignoring Tyler calling after her. She didn't understand why she was running, why she wished to prevent the last vision from coming true. Perhaps she just wanted to see if everything she saw was true, or if it somehow could be changed.
"Rowan, wait!" she shouted as she followed him deeper into the woods, the only signs of the festival that remained were occasional flashes of firework and the sounds they made.
Rowan stopped and turned toward her, furious and looking unhinged. "Argh! What do you want? Why are you following me?!"
"I don't have time to explain, but you're in danger," she wouldn't tell him about the vision, she didn't know how much time she had.
"I think you've got it backwards," he lifted his hand and suddenly Wednesday felt an invisible force lifting her up and slamming her back into a tree.
Even with her pain tolerance she still grunted, feeling the trunk digging into her back uncomfortably.
"You're the one who's in danger!" Rowan told her.
"What are you doing?" she demanded, and though she struggled it was futile. She couldn't get free.
"Saving everyone from you," he grunted, straining to keep her pinned to the tree. "I have to kill you."
That's when she pieced it together. "The gargoyle, that was you?"
"Yeah," he even smiled a bit.
"It's always the quiet ones," Wednesday commented as a piece of paper floated out of Rowan's pocket and unfolded in front of her. She saw a girl, dressed in black, with the background that looked like quad, only on fire.
"Girl in the picture, that's you," he said, she could feel the strain in his voice, but the force pinning her to a tree only got stronger.
"You want to kill me because of some picture?!" that was a ridiculous reason to kill someone, even for her standards.
"My mother drew that picture 25 years ago when she was a student at Nevermore! She was a powerful Seer. Told me about it before she died," Rowan yelled, as if that fact made his excuse for trying to kill her any better.
"Rowan, put me down," she demanded, his powers made it harder to breathe. He was choking her; he wasn't going to stop.
"No! My mother said it was my destiny to stop this girl if she ever came to Nevermore because she will destroy the school and everyone in it!" he cried out as Wednesday became unable to breathe.
"Rowan! Let her go!" she heard your voice and looked to the side, just as you threw a knife toward Rowan. Your aim was awful. He didn't even need to move and it would miss him by at least two feet.
And then she saw it, just as the knife was about to reach Rowan your body was engulfed in red lightning and you disappeared, your entire body shifting into lightning and bursting forth toward the knife. Wednesday watched, speechless as your body regained form right in front of Rowan, the knife in your left hand, and you, too fast for him to react.
You slammed your fist into his guts, sending him flying back, though she couldn't help but notice you didn't use lightning for the punch, just the natural momentum and strength you had. It still sent Rowan flying.
It also broke his hold on Wednesday and you threw the knife toward the tree, zapping toward it just in time to catch her before she fell to the ground. Wednesday blinked, still dazed by what just happened as you set her down and knelt in front of her. you weren't touching her, but she could clearly see the concern in your eyes.
"Are you hurt?" you asked, looking for any visible signs of injuries.
"I'm fine," she denied having any injuries. What were you thinking? That she'd show vulnerability to you just like that?
"Y/N!" Rowan enraged, bellowed as he got up to his knees and raised his arm. Your eyes widened as you were pulled into the air.
"Wait, Rowan!" Wednesday found herself shouting as she tried to get up.
"I'll kill you after I'm done with Y/N!" he had lost his mind completely, the madness in his eyes made that clear.
"Bring it! I'll show you exactly why Weems and the staff dread the storms!" you thundered, lightning gathered around you and began concentrating in a ball above your head. "Give up or I'll drop this on you! Forget all this madness!" despite the anger she could hear you pleading deep down for Rowan to just listen to you.
You never got a chance to do so, as a monster emerged from the shadows and grabbed Rowan, slicing and tearing him apart with its claws.
You dropped to the ground, landing on one knee. You were too surprised by the monster's appearance to maintain the ball of lightning. The monster turned to look at you two, with its bulging eyes, hunched back, sharp claws and greyish skin it was unlike anything Wednesday saw in her life.
"That's an," did you recognize the monster? "...oversized Gollum?" she expected too much from you...
~X~
The oversized Gollum fled and you and Wednesday were left with Rowan's corpse. You didn't need to be an expert to see he was ripped open by those claw and dead.
You watched, wondering if there was anything you could have done. You had your lightning ready, but you just couldn't react in time. Were you going to hurt Rowan? Yeah, as far as that went you couldn't say you were any better than the monster that attacked him, but you weren't going to kill him, as strong as the lightning you gathered looked. You were going to aim for the ground in front of him, close enough to knock him out from the shock, but not nearly close enough to kill him.
You were frantically looking around, searching for any signs of the monster coming back, but it looked like it really left.
"We need to get someone," there was an urgency in Wednesday's voice you didn't quite expect, but you could see her legs shaking slightly. Shock from Rowan's death? No. She didn't look shaken. Was it the hit she took when he tossed her into the tree?
Deciding that it was probably that you nodded and followed closely behind her, just in case she couldn't keep standing. Damn Xavier for slowing you down, maybe all of this could have been avoided if you were only a minute quicker.
The first person you came across was Bianca and you noticed Wednesday faltering just for a split second. "Rowan was killed by a monster, I don't have time to explain, just get someone," Wednesday opened straight with that.
Bianca's eyes widened. "Are you crazy? What are you talking about?"
But before Wednesday could reply she began falling forward. "Wednesday," you caught her and turned her around in your arms. She was unconscious. "Bianca we both saw him get killed. Get someone, I need to take Wednesday back to the dorm," you knew you were putting your life at risk by doing so, and that Wednesday probably knew roughly ta thousand different ways to inflict pain, give or take a few hundred, and that she'd be more than eager to put you through them. You still picked her up. "Please don't wake up," you pleaded, but your gaze softened. Wednesday looked peaceful and you couldn't help but notice how light and small she actually was. "I got you, I know you can't hear me, but I got you."
~X~
In the most ridiculous turn of events Rowan was actually alive, even though he clearly got killed less than 24 hours ago. How was that possible? You had no idea. You just knew the entire school thought you and Wednesday made that up. So, here you were, in the woods, looking for anything that could prove the two of you weren’t crazy.
And you found it, you found Rowan’s glasses with drops of blood on them. With glasses in your hand you went back to your dorm. Someone was covering things up.
When you came back to the room you found Wednesday and Thing at her table, looking at the drawing she took from Rowan. You placed the glasses on her table, near Thing. "Someone is covering this up," you went to her other side and leaned back against her table, your hands gripping the edge of it.
"These are Rowan's. You went to the woods?" she demanded, looking at you with slightly widened eyes.
You nodded. "I wasn't sure if the oversized Gollum was still there, so I went alone," you heard tapping and saw Thing rapidly signing to you. Somehow you understood. "I wasn't being reckless, I'm a raiju," in your mind that was all the explanation you needed to give.
"Don't do that again," Wednesday stated firmly. "I want to make sure we don't miss any clues," she said and then showed you the drawing. "I need to know what this is about."
That made sense. "Any clues as to where that's from?"
"No," she then pointed at the upper right corner. "But I noticed this just before you came in," there was a mark there, it was faint, but you could see it.
"Looks like a flower? I guess?" you couldn't offer much aside from that. You've never seen it before.
"Let's go to the library," she stood up from her chair and Thing went into her bag.
“You can go ahead first, I’ll join you in a bit,” you figured she was too eager to search for the book to let you go into the library first.
“Why?” she immediately asked.
You looked away, embarrassed. “The rumors, I guess? Most people go to the library for reasons that don’t have anything to do with books, if you get what I mean,” when she remained silent, and more importantly when she maintained that same look that inquired you to keep going, you were left with no other choice but to sigh and elaborate. “Making out. Most people make out in the library. So, we go there together and it won’t take Enid’s vlog for half the school to think we’re doing the same,” she was already deemed a psycho by most of the school, and the rumors that she killed someone could still be heard every now and then. Add in the fact that the entire school thought the two of you made up Rowan’s murder and as far as you were concerned the last thing Wednesday needed right now was for people to think she was with a raiju of all outcast groups.
Wednesday just frowned, tilting her head the same way she did during the festival. “Do not assume I care about such trivial rumors. Come on,” she was already halfway to the doors by the time you processed what she just said.
“Wednesday, I’m a raiju,” you reminded her, but still followed. She wasn’t going to stop and talk about this.
“I don’t see an issue with that, lightning beast. You can back out if you’re so sensitive about rumors,” she said evenly, there wasn’t a hint of hesitation, or any emotion in her voice, it was as if she was just stating a fact.
You could just watch her back, not entirely sure how to feel at the moment. “It’s not me I’m worried about.”
That got Wednesday to stop and turn around to look at you. “Then you should know I don’t care if they think I’m with you,” she just said it. As if she didn’t just say it didn’t matter what you were. That it didn’t matter you were a raiju. Sure, there were more dangerous outcasts, but raiju were solitary creatures. Docile, but uncontrollable, and you weren’t talking about just storms. That could be controlled, with time and practice you’d be able to stay in the rain and not worry about uncontrollable discharges. No, it was the beast form. Untamable, driven by instincts, unable to speak or fully grasp the situation it was in. Lightning is only capable of destruction and that form was the embodiment of lightning. Even with all the efforts you put into learning how to control your lightning you’d never, under any but direst circumstances, willingly shift into the actual raiju form.
Your father, as much as he cared about his roommate while at Nevermore, still lost control when he shifted and the man and his brother barely avoided being killed during a particularly bad storm. The fear of doing the same was what made you so adamant on staying in control all the time.
And here Wednesday was, acting as if rumors about her being with a raiju wouldn’t bother her.
All you could was to let out a weak laugh and go after the girl to the library.
~X~
Basically bursting into the library the two of you were met with the sight you expected to see. Heavy make out session of two students, vampires this time. You awkwardly looked to the side, not really wanting to meet their eyes as they fled the library, embarrassed to be caught.
Wednesday, for whatever reason, and against your expectations, didn’t seem to be affected by what she saw. She just went straight into searching for the book. Thing got out of her backpack and began searching as well, so you did too. You looked for anything purple that had the mark on the page Wednesday had.
"I keep seeing that same purple book," Wednesday said to thing after you showed her yet another shade of purple that didn’t match what she was looking for.
Apparently, Thing didn’t have much luck either. "The cover was darker, more like a day-old contusion, keep looking."
“That’s one way to describe a color,” you grinned at her, but before she could reply, if she was even going to reply, the doors opened and the two of you looked up to see Thornhill at the top of the stairs. Thing quickly hid behind the books.
"I don't usually find students in here looking for actual books," Thornhill said as she came down the stairs. "Most sneak in to make out."
"We accidentally walked in on two vampires fanging, I can't unsee that," Wednesday said and you looked away, rubbing the back of your neck.
“I’ll come back later, if you don’t mind,” you said, not really wanting to spend time with the woman. You couldn’t get the look in her eyes out of your head whenever you saw her. That look of fear she had when she saw you electrocuting Tyler and his friends on the previous Outreach day. It was barely stronger than a taser, but it could have been stronger, and no matter what was said or done your and Thornhill’s relationship was permanently and irrevocably damaged. Hence, why you didn’t pay attention to her classes and did the tests just well enough to pass them.
"Sorry about that, I'm afraid Y/N and I got off on the wrong foot," you heard Thornhill saying as you left the library.
A/N: So, I'm just gonna say it right now. In the middle of writing this chapter, I was struck with sudden inspiration and I skipped way ahead and wrote the ending scene. You are probably going to hate me when you read it. (No, Reader doesn't die, in case anyone considered that for a moment.) So, yeah, until next time, bye!

coffe for your head
Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: going to college and being freshly enrolled in college as a freshman was probably the worst decision you could've made in your entire life. the amount of exams, lectures and stress were torture, but those could easily be forgotten with a cup of coffee and a cute stranger.
pairing: gn reader x michael kaiser |  wordcount: 1.2k | warnings: non-established relationship, first encounter..ig??, small talk (i hate small talk), michael kaiser (...)
a/n: to make up for my angsty post the other day and this is like a half assed proof read fic that I did at 3 am so if there are any mistakes sorryyyyyy LMFAO
Tumblr media Tumblr media
going to school has never been fun, not in elementary school nor high school and especially not in college. after all, appearing for a good 75 minutes to listen to one lecture and then going back home to sleep, eat, learn and repeat - was definitely not the "exciting" college life you had in mind.
being a freshman wasn't all that fun either. It's the first year at college and you're already burnt out due to exam stress and classes (which you were only surviving with energy drinks and instant coffee) had to be some sort of sick joke that the universe was playing on you.
after all, you thought that college life would be fun - way more fun, just like in the movies.  where you'd go out with friends everyday or would have a party or a frat to attend to during the weekends. but no, instead of doing any of that you were cramped in your small college dorm for most of the time being.
though you were able to forgive the universe quickly or fate or whatever major force made this gorgeous man appear in front of you.
Tumblr media
just as autumn approached and the leaves were beginning to turn a reddish brown colour and had started to rustle underneath your shoe soles, you met him - standing in front of the small coffee shop which everyone on your campus went to.
"do you need any help, dear?" your ears twitched upon noticing a male voice that came from behind you. as you turned around to face the stranger that offered his help, your eyes locked with his cerulean ones.
admittedly, you were whole-heartedly expecting some cocky senior that wanted to tease you for not being able to open the door and get a good laugh out of it, but to your surprise you were met with a handsome blond haired and blue eyed guy.
as your eyes swayed over him, you took in his appearance and form. he looked about 6 feet tall making him a bit taller than most guys on campus, his hair was also tied back into a man bun with only some strands hanging in the front. that was when you  noticed that his hair wasn't only blond but blue too, it seemed like he dyed the ends of his hair blue to match his eyes.
from his head and face your eyes darted down to his body, he was wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and a white zip up jacket that was layered above a black turtleneck. on his shoulder hung a duffle bag and his hands were buried deeply in his pockets probably due to the cold weather.
after you were done with analysing his basically whole being, your eyes met with his cerulean ones again.
"done staring? If you like me that much why not take a picture. it'll last longer" he tilted his head to the side and gave you a small smirk. "what gave you the impression that i was staring at you? i was simply just analysing you, in case you were some creep that'd start hitting on me." you snorted with laughter though you were a bit embarrassed by the fact that he caught you red-handed.
upon hearing that he let out a small chuckle. "well I can't deny that you're cute but I'm here for the coffee, not you, m'sorry. maybe next time." the first part of his sentence made the tips of your ears go red (you convince yourself that it's from the cold). which resulted in the last part of his sentence going in one ear and out of the other.
"come on, let me help you open the door and get our asses inside. we don't want your ears to turn even redder or that one of us catches a cold" he moved from his previous spot over to the entrance and put his hand on the door handle. you turned around to him and faced his back as you let out a sigh of relief upon hearing his words - he seemed to believe that your ears were turning red because of the cold weather and not his words. "yeah that'd be very nice, thanks. though I have to warn you, i've been trying to open this door for a good 2 minutes and it hasn't budged a bit!"
just as you ended your sentence the loud and squeaky door dragged itself against the old mahogany wooden floor. "well that's because you kept pulling instead of pushing". he held out the door for you as a sign for you to enter.
"oh" your voice cracked as you replied in a sheepish tone as you were still standing at the entrance. "i was totally aware of that, just wanted to test the people at our school, you know? that's what i totally wanted to do.." he gave you a small smile and let out a quiet laugh. "sure, whatever you say. now come on in and enter, before the place gets full".
with a small nod directed at him you enter and trail behind him to the cashier. a "hello, what can i get for you?" comes from behind the counter.
"ah. excuse me and give me a moment please". out of his duffle bag he hurriedly pulled out a small box that revealed a pair of glasses. "now let's see", he pushed his glasses up his nose bridge and his eyes started to dart over the names on the menu.
after a while he sighed and put his glasses back into the small box. "i'll just have an americano to-go and as for the cutie behind me..". he turned around to face you and leaned forward, to quietly whisper a "what do you want"? Honestly his boldness and closeness took you aback but you just answered him with a simple "a cappuccino to go, i suppose". you started to look away and your eyes started to wander around the room, in hopes of escaping his lingering gaze that rested on you. (suddenly the wall was very interesting). upon hearing that he smiled and said "nice choice", before turning back to the cashier.
"so as said, my order is an americano to-go and a cappuccino to-go". the person that stood at the register only nodded and wrote down the orders for the baristas to prepare, before speaking up again. "alright, that'd be 11.40".
before you could register what was happening the blonde in front of you swiped his card smoothly along the card reader. "if our coffees are ready to go just call out "michael"".
once again the cashier nodded in acknowledgement and told the both of you to take a seat.
"so.. your name is michael?" you sat down and tried to talk to him in hopes of intending small talk to avoid awkwardness. that's right" he gave you a reassuring smile which made you relieved.
"ah right! before I forget it". you panicky started to reach in the depths of your tote bag to fish out your wallet and pull out a bill and some coins. "here, the money. i really appreciate your kind gesture but there was really no need for that"
he let out a quiet chuckle. "i should be the one saying that", he paused for a moment before speaking up again. "but you know I'm not really in need of money because there's more from where that came from" he winked at you and let out a small laugh.
"so, instead of giving me money, why not give me your number"?

my tears ricochet (j.t.)
Tumblr media
Summary: after years of being at odds with Jamie Tartt, it takes one moment for the walls to come crumbling down
SHE'S BACK BITCHES you can thank Ted Lasso for the inspiration because I just couldn't watch the show and not write anything for Jamie Tartt
AN: angsty fluff is my go to so what better way to make a comeback than my usual. inspired by the scene where Jamie's dad comes into the locker room after the Man City match
"Jamie, why are you doing this?" You questioned your boyfriend of two years. He had just told you he was breaking up with you, completely out of the blue.
"If i'm going to go pro I can't have things from my past weighing me down. Not if I want to be the best." He said. You were stunned at his words.
Did he really believe that? Did he really believe you would weigh him down? "No, no, this isn't you. This is your dad talking. You promised me you would never hurt me, not like this." You replied.
"I lied then. We were kidding ourselves if we thought this would last after school. We're just kids, this was never going to be anything serious." Jamie rebutted. You scoffed at his words. You didn't want to believe that Jamie would actually feel that way.
"It was serious to me. It was serious to you three months ago when you said you wanted me by your side for as long as I'd have you." You replied. "I told you what you wanted to hear." Jamie said simply.
That was the figurative dagger in your back. You had to stop yourself from doing anything you'd regret in the morning. That being punching Jamie in the nose and dealing with the consequences of a fractured hand.
"Go then." You said through tears. "Y/N," Jamie started. "You want to go? Then go. But don't expect me to answer when you call." You snapped, slamming the door in his face.
That fight was four years ago and yet it still plagued your nightmares. The hurtful things Jamie said to you still playing through your head whenever you were ready to move on officially.
Sure you dated guys here and there, but the second you felt that it could become serious, hearing Jamie say he told you what you wanted to hear played on a loop.
You were angry he still had that much control over you. And your current occupation didn't help either. You had just started as the athletic trainer for AFC Richmond. Which meant you saw Jamie on a daily basis.
He tried to start a conversation with you, try to make up for the things he did but you never gave him the time of day.
It was your first official month at AFC Richmond and you had succeeded at avoiding Jamie at all costs. You'd either be busy, gone home early, or simply said no. All resulting in one of the other physios treating him.
He knew what you were doing. So that's why he had to corner you in the treatment room to even get face time with you. He walked into the room and closed the door, standing in front of it so you couldn't leave.
“What the hell are you doing?" You questioned. "You won't talk to me." Jamie answered. "Did you ever think that I had a very good reason for not wanting to talk to you?" You asked. "Y/N, Jamie started.
"You don't get to do this. You don't get to trap me in here and force me to talk to you. You made this decision and now you have to live with it. You can't just come back into my life like you didn't break my heart." You said with an eerily calm tone.
"That's not who I am anymore." Jamie said. "Well the person you are now, has to pay for the mistake of the person you were." You said.
You looked at him, signaling him to step aside so you could leave. the two of you just started at each other for a moment and it took everything in your power not to fold and fall into his arms.
But eventually he did move, letting you walk through the door. Jamie didn't have many regrets in his life but doing what he did to you was by far the worst thing and his biggest regret.
The night he broke up with you, Jamie let his dad get into his head, saying all of these things about how you'll bring him down. He can't go pro with a girlfriend from home. He'll get bored of you anyway, so he should just cut you loose.
Jamie didn't know why he listened to his father in the first place. His mother had told him that you would be the thing that grounded him when he finally had his big break.
He didn't have you, and he turned into a huge prick. And that day you were right, he was paying for the mistakes that version of himself made.
__
The match against Man City at Wembley did not have the outcome everyone wanted. Richmond lost and no one was feeling good about it.
You were packing up heat packs and resistance bands when the locker room door opened.
"Uh, Mr. Tartt? You have a visitor. Says he's your father." The security man said.
Instinctually, Jamie and you locked eyes, you gave your head a slight shake. Telling Jamie that seeing his father was the last thing he needed.
Jamie sighed before giving the man permission to bring him in. You despised Jamie's father. You always hated how the man treated his son and you hated how Jamie just sat their and took it.
Now, Jamie was allowing this man to kick him while he's already down.
"Hey, it's a tough one lads, it's tough one. But no shame to it, because you know we only ever beat everybody we play." Jamie's father laughed.
"You pups had no chance. And there he is, my son. My own flesh and blood. Poor Jamie, my son. Now, maybe I'm thinking, his heart's still in Manchester and that's why he missed that sitter in the first half. You absolutely balled it. You balled it. What were you thinking? I'm only kidding." James continued.
You tensed when he started shoving Jamie slightly. You weren't close enough to hear what was said, only hearing Jamie say "don't speak to me like that."
It all escalated so quickly after that. James turned around and began yelling at the team, shouting that they were amateurs. Jamie turned away from his father and James pushed him harshly.
Jamie turned back around and punched his father in the nose, hard enough to send him to the ground.
Before James could retaliate against Jamie, Coach Beard picked him up and escorted him outside.
For a second, nobody moved. It felt like everyone stopped breathing, just staring at Jamie. You included. You could see it on his face, he was about to break.
Roy started to move but you beat him to it. You wrapped your arms around Jamie and he was taken aback at first. But then he grabbed onto you tightly and cried into your shoulder.
"You're okay, I got you." You whispered to him. In response his hold around you only got tighter, like he was afraid you'd evaporate in his arms.
It wasn't the first time you had to comfort Jamie after run ins with his father. When he was playing football for the school team, his dad got on him about everything.
There were many nights where Jamie would sneak into your bedroom because he just felt better with you. You made things feel better, even if only for a moment.
After a few seconds of just holding him, he pulled away from you and neither of you had noticed the team dispersed.
"The team is probably waiting for you on the bus." You said, breaking the silence. "Yeah, yeah. You're right." Jamie replied. "I'll see you on the bus, Jamie." You told him as you grabbed your bag of supplies.
For the third time, he watched you walk away from him. But this time was different. Even after what he did, you were still there for him after his dad barged in.
That night, after you had driven home, got in your pajamas and sat on your sofa with a glass of wine, the last thing you'd expect was to have someone knock at your door.
And hell probably froze over because Jamie was standing on your doorstep.
"Jamie?" You questioned. "Can we talk? Please?" He asked, almost pleaded. You blamed your fatigue on you giving in so quickly, but you let him inside nonetheless.
"I let you down. That night at your house, I let you down." He spoke. "I-I let me dad control me and I did the last thing I ever wanted to do. You meant the world to me and I let you go. I'm sorry, Y/N." He added.
You didn't really know what to say to him after that. So you just took his hand and brought him to the sofa, where he sat down next to you.
"What you did really hurt me. I thought I did something wrong, like I didn't make you happy anymore. I tried to move on, I went on a few dates but every time I thought you were in the past, I just kept hearing what you said to me that night." You said.
"You didn't deserve that. You didn't deserve any of that." Jamie replied. "You're right. I didn't deserve any of that. But that's not who you are anymore, is it?" You asked.
"The Jamie I knew, the Jamie you were, would have never stuck up to your dad the way you did. I never understood why but I always supported you. But the Jamie you are now, you stuck up for yourself. You didn't let him bully you and I'm really, really proud of you." You continued.
"But you said-" He started. "I know what I said. I know I said that you had to pay for those mistakes. I was wrong." You interrupted.
"I love you, Y/N. I don't think I ever stopped loving you even though I definitely tried." Jamie confessed. "How about this? We start over. Let me get to know the new Jamie." You said.
A smile formed on Jamie's face as he held out his hand. "Hi, I'm Jamie." He said. You laughed lightly as you took his hand. "I'm Y/N." You replied, shaking his hand. "Would you like to go on a date with me?" Jamie asked.
"Yes, yes I would." You said.
And you did go on the date with Jamie. You learned who this new Jamie really was. He was kind, caring, still cocky as ever but he cared about others.
He had best friends in, Sam, Isaac and even Roy though he didn’t really phrase it like that. Jamie stopped letting the opinions of the world define him and only the opinions of those he loved and valued.
You felt incredibly proud of Jamie and this new person he had become and this Jamie was the one you fell in love with.

Hc that Jason really resonated with Frankenstein’s monster after he came back from the dead and his terrorization of Bruce is, in part, inspired by the monsters terrorization of Victor
ok i'm gonna preface this by saying what the fuck anon (/pos). i've been talking about this concept since it popped into my inbox i'm actually OBSESSED.
clawing at the insides of my enclosure foaming at the mouth etc etc
anyways, 1000% YES. the whole thing of jason being put back together not only at the hands of another, but also in a way which is so so unfamiliar to the him he knew before death, soooo extremely frankenstein's monster-coded.
both brought to life by impossible circumstances, and neither feel as though they own their autonomy. searching for some kind of redemption, needing to feel complete or avenged.
both having a sense of justice, shunned by society, one which doesn't earn them praise but instead punishment and disgust. both resenting the decisions of their creators/mentors. torn between worlds, neither of which they feel accepted in. oh my GOD.
i'm a huge fan of the whole idea of jason coming back and feeling displaced and in an entirely foreign body, and that's just oh so frankenstein's monster..
like IMAGINE that being his frame of reference for his feelings. put together what feels like piece by piece, messily, with only second-hand scraps. all with no regard for the person he was before, only with the intentions of being 'repurposed'.. AHHHHH
(as well as the fact that it's ALL mental for jason, he comes back 'perfect', unscathed and replenished. he has no physical justification for feeling the way he does, second-hand and hand-sewn. his feeling of 'monstrosity' stems from elsewhere; the feeling he gets walking around in this body which is simply not his, or the look in bruce's eyes when he sees him again for the first time, seeing a monster not a son.)
also the conscious knowing that his make-up is no longer his own, he's composed of parts which are unrecognisable to his old body, the one he owned and hand-carved through age. having to walk through days, feeling his actions as his own, but having a body which warps the intent behind them to all onlookers.
god imagine, blaming your creator for your fate, and needing the answers of your inadequacy to come from him himself.. and no other source can explain your imperfection in a way you can accept, it has to be him. jason NEEDS bruce's validation, to confirm or deny that he is irredeemable and a lost cause.
as much as i don't think jason would take pride in relating so much to frankenstein's monster, it's definitely a lingering thought in the back of his mind, something that determines his own story and outcomes.
he thinks of him when he loses control, and knows that he can't use it to justify the way he acted. he cannot tell the monster that his actions were okay, and that the people just did not understand, although as much as he wants to.. because he knows that isn't the case. he knows the monster was always a monster, and grows to feel the same way about himself.
he resents the way he acts, because all he sees is the monster. the one who acts according to his moral compass, but is always wrong. always clouded by his monstrosity. he decides he really should never trust himself or his intuition, because it's always disgusting and ugly, and even he'll be able to look back in retrospect and be repulsed by the way he carried himself, and not hate the way everyone punished him for it.
he wants so desperately to get himself back, morph back into the boy who knew his rights and wrongs and was never looked at funnily for acting how any normal person would. but the only part of his past self that still exists is in his mind, he wants to rip it out and show people that it's still him inside of there, but he simply can't do that.
his body changed without his permission, he never asked to be an abomination, a scientifical anomaly. he wants to scream about how it's not his fault, how he's not what the world paints him to be. how he can just be normal. but he's never really going to feel that way, as long as his mind and body remain two separate entities at war.
i feel like he clings onto the humanity of frankenstein's monster, and uses him as an anchor, something that shows him it's possible to remain acceptable and human.
i also think he analyses the character oh so deeply, to try and latch onto all the relatability he can find, the things he doesn't get from real people.
maybe he has a copy of the book, annotated in such a personal way. perhaps someone else stumbles upon it, and is just so distraught by the conclusions drawn from the scribbles and highlights, the way jason seems to view himself.
the way that although jason's always seen himself like the monster, unloveable and unacceptable, everyone else was always ready to accept him.
that maybe the real downfall of jason and frankenstein's monster is that the way they viewed themselves was too focused on the displacement they felt, assuming automatically that everyone else must feel the same way about them, if not worse. not taking the moment to let people learn to love them all over again.
anyways, unreliable narrators post resurrection!jason todd and frankenstein's monster, who were always seen with at least an ounce of humanity, but were both overridden by self-hatred and the disgust of their form, which led them to total exile and isolation.

Oh this is going to hurt... a lot.
I should be worried if the first thing I do after an episode isn't open Photoshop. Normally, I would now recall the best scenes of the series and decide on a set… But not today, even though I have the time. I once wrote that when a series can no longer catch me, you can tell by the fact that I stop making gifs… Okay, sometimes I just don't have the time. But today… I wouldn't even know which scene to choose, because there was nothing that got me, nothing that excited me and nothing that I felt emotional connected to. Instead, I have a lot of thoughts in my head that all want to get out somehow.
After the over-emotionalization of the last episode, I had actually already given up on Last Twilight. And that really hurts to admit. I loved the series from the very first second and I just thought it was so good! The problem for me was that they tried to just touch the audience's tear triggers, their emotions, all of them. And they forgot that too much of a good thing is simply not good. For me, episode 11 was right on the edge of what was bearable and I still don't think Day did the "right" thing. You're allowed to argue in a relationship and hold different opinions and then talk about why you hold a certain point of view, for example. If the other person can't deal with it, if you can't find a compromise, then you have to take the consequences, yes. But that wasn't even done here.
Day insinuated that Mhok pitied him, didn't listen to Mhok's side and today we learn that Mhok really only felt pity? Really? And that he is happy Day broke up with him so he could grow? Really? That is so fucking stupid. Day has problems with pity, that's understood and ok, but it's also ok for Mhok to make his own priorities in life and decide for himself not to want to leave, but to stay with the person he loves. But Day took that decision away from him. They could have talked about it. Different perspectives can also make a big difference. But no. Day pushes Mhok away and Mhok lies to Day… But back to tonight's episode. I was actually done with last week (yeah nope, I know). You can see that they tried to find a highly emotional ending that everyone seems to agree with and can cry into their handkerchiefs. The number of fuck yous I hurled at my laptop today shows me that the trick didn't work on me. It was all so over-emotionalized that it just felt fabricated and fake. And that's so sad, because the show felt so fucking real until episode 10. And now it was a weird cliché-ridden cringe-fest.
Honestly, if I had been dumped like Mhok and then ignored for three years, the time I spend thinking about that person would be really wasted. I'd be so fucking angry (probably not anymore after three years, I just wouldn't care). But Mhok immediately starts flirting. They pick up where they left off, but there's three years and thousands of kilometers between them. Unrealistic for me. And then Mhok just carries on, whispering to Day about what's happening and what's going on and just acting like his boyfriend again, holding his hand, helping him get dressed, showing him where everything is. I was a bit surprised that he didn't feed him. And Day is confused and just smiles. I think as a viewer I was the only person who was angry at the end. There were no bad emotions. Nothing. And that felt so fucking wrong!
And then comes the wedding and talk of second chances and of course Day says no because he's too scared someone will take pity on him. Yeah, fuck man, shit happens. and Mhok can't or won't give up. An emotional chase begins and the bride and groom leave their own wedding for the two of them and I lost faith in everything. And of course the plane is gone and of course they're all checked in because the passport was scanned and of course Mhok turned around and went back and of course he clued Night in and of course they end up doing the same dance they did back then and of course the family watches them get back together. And of course the series ends with a bunch of sugary sweet scenes from "call me mom" to sunset and let's repeat this most beautiful and heartbreaking moment from the past epsiode without any emotional impact. It was so predictable and so, I'm sorry, so bad. I'm so angry! And of course he gets his sight back. After all, what kind of a message would it be if Day remained blind? Is that possible? That a blind protagonist can find happiness and love and lead a successful life? No, it's not possible. He has to be able to see again. He has to become normal again in order to lead a normal life. What a shitty message! Damn!
Sometimes less really is more. Not everything has to be perfect and normal. At least that's the lesson I thought I should learn from this series.
If anyone has any gif requests, my inbox is open, but I don't think I'll be making any on my own. At least not today and not with this anger in my stomach.

Azul 26
Summary: Dinner with Azul was done. You have caught up with what he's been doing over the years, and now it's time for you to be off on your travels. You stop yourself to say one final thing, just so he knows.
(I'll be skipping around because I have scenes in the head and I don't want to write in chronological order. That and I have no clue what the meetings should be like. Brain is empty!)
Tumblr media
Haa, alright, it's now or never. If you walk through that door now without saying a thing, you know you'll just leave without a trace once more.
So, you turn around. You can't allow yourself to be coward like this.
"Hey, Azul," you still had his attention, but you had to call to him again, just to focus yourself, "when I leave again, I'm not going to be coming back."
Your tongue almost added 'probably,' at the end, but you won't lie to him.
"Well, I can hardly blame you at all," Azul shook his head, a tired smile waning on his face, threatening to disappear, "stay here and abandon those you've risked so much to get back home to, or go back and let all this drift off into a gentle dream. The choices you've made, I know you to never go back on them."
You didn't move as Azul approached your side. You hate the thought of wavering in any capacity, so you kept your focus on Azul's face, even as it became harder to take in that gentle smile.
"…I won't be able to attend any of your parties, or diners, you know?" It took too much time for Malleus to even get his invitation to you. He was waiting every day by that mirror for ten odd years in hopes you'd respond. And it's a miracle that you did.
A fluke, probably, that it only took ten years. Who's to say it won't be more next time? Who's to say that Malleus will be able to reach you at all? Well, perhaps he'll be able to figure it out and get invitations and letters through in a shorter period of time. You'll still be late, no matter how fast they're sent, because you lived in a different time-axis than the people here.
This world is beautiful, as well as the world back home, but… you don't think you can stand the thought of coming back to world that will always forget you. Where, so many years pass by that your existence just… faded away while you're still alive and living.
Azul nodded, "A shame you won't be able to attend my funeral when it comes. I was planning on having some delectable snacks there too."
The lightness he treated the subject kept you calm, but you didn't like the way your stomach gained more weight at the thought. But, well, you suppose the thought of death and what comes afterward comes when you see the changes in the mirror, see the way the eyes start sinking just the slightest bit deeper, and the way your face gains more lines with time, and the annoying pains in places you didn't expect them to be.
"…yeah," you had to push the word out. You put your hands in your pockets, "Guess I'll miss that too. I'll miss a lot of things."
You missed too many things already, so what's a lot more? May as well not have come here at all if this was what's going to greet you.
A younger Azul probably would have bargained or negotiated his way into getting you to stay. He tried to do so the minute he found out the way home was one-way only. You didn't like it then, the way he was scrambling for something that'll entice you to stay just a few more minutes longer, until he reaches a far away milestone or until his name reaches the ears of those famous and lofty. But, as Azul said, you've always been one to stick with your decisions.
Like weeds, you make sure to get everything out before they dig deeper. Half-assing everything, with anything regarding your life, was simply something you could never do, especially not when you know yourself to leave things until the last minute if you allow yourself.
That's what a younger Azul was hoping for, almost begging for even.
But, not this one.
This Azul's hands were on his custom made cane, drumming his fingers on the hilt as he hummed a familiar tune and tapped with his good foot.
"…you know," may as well get it off your chest while you're here, "it's kind of unfair, for me at least. Everything is still so fresh in my mind," The younger faces, the weird little habits and childish antics, the word tics, "and I came here just to have a little fun, like back in college. But…"
But…
"But we're not the same as we once were," nothing about Azul's composure was lost. It was weird, seeing his smile capable of this type of experienced gentleness, originating from pain he has probably long since come to terms with. He held a hand out towards you, inviting you to take it, "While I can't say I'm a better version than the one you remember, I am different. And I will be different tomorrow and the days onward. If you don't intend to come back once you go home, then let us at least have some fun like you wanted to. Nothing wrong with making more memories, is there? Or do you intend to leave this older gentleman such as I alone on the dance floor?"
You stared at his hand, then his face, and let out an airy chuckle. "Alright, alright old man. Quit it with the Crowley-isms."
You walked past the curtains that gave you two all the privacy you needed, and pulled Azul into a dance you're familiar with. But, it seems he wasn't ready. Poor man stumbled into you.
This time, Azul had to laugh as his hat fell off. "Be careful with me, don't you know how delicate and soft I am? Leave a bruise on me and I'll demand compensation from you."
"With what money?" You barely brought anything.
"Not money, time. I'll demand another dance." Azul is still as cheeky as ever.
"Aren't you gonna pick up your hat?" You can see it getting kicked around by the more drunken folks around here.
"Leave it. It's doesn't matter when I'm having fun. Let the world see my graying hairs."
That's… you were not focused on that. Besides…
"Isn't your hair already gray?"
"Oh come on. Don't tell me you can't see the difference? Look, see? Right there."
And you couldn't. Because you both were still moving and twirling around. It's awkward.
"Azul, we're dancing. I can't really focus on it."
Then, Azul sighed. "I really do have to be more blunt with you, don't I? I'm asking you to touch my hair. So touch it. There won't be a fee, I promise. The feeling alone is it's own reward."
"Should've started off with that Azul."

Much Better
Tumblr media
You summoned his spirit, and he was eager to help you, but he required your soul as payment.
⚠demon!San, dark theme⚠
Ateez masterlist here
"But darling, in case you didn't know, everything has a price. If you want my help, you must be prepared to pay me back." His sinister smile widened, and the atmosphere around him became unbearably heavy. Sitting in front of him, you felt small and insignificant, as if he towered over you. You nodded your head, knowing full well that there was a price to pay for summoning him. Performing that ritual in your small apartment in the middle of the night was a foolish decision. You knew the risks involved, and yet you still did it. Now you have a demon to deal with.
The demon loved it when a helpless, pure soul summoned him. Especially you. He sensed something in you that made him feel more powerful than ever. And this meant that if you thought you could escape him, you were wrong. "So tell me, darling," he purred, placing his large hand on your cheek. "Who was the person who made my baby so mad?" He enjoyed your presence and your small figure. He felt like he could have everything he wanted from you. He had never really cared about another human before, but you were different.
Your eyes welled up with tears before you could even speak. The demon gently brushed your reddened cheek with his thumb. "My baby is as vulnerable as a kitten." he said. "I could give them a nightmare they would never forget." You felt a strange warmth spreading through you at his touch. His figure was alluring, and his eyes were so beautiful that they almost seemed angelic.
He listened to your every word, as you sobbed and let out all of your heartbroken memories. He nodded his head and smirked. This world did not deserve you, but he did. He was glad that you had summoned him, rather than the other demons. He would shut them down, and do whatever you wanted him to do to the people you hated the most in the world. It was no big deal to him, and it was worth it, because he would get something for himself in return: your pure soul.
The demon looked at you with pity. "How could this world treat you like that?" he asked. "You are so innocent and pure. You deserve so much better than this." He pulled you closer and leaned near your ears, whispering softly, "I'm San, by the way. I will protect you from now on. You don't need to be afraid anymore. I am better than the shitty people in this world. Your life will be much better with me, my darling." San whispered the last sentence. He now claimed you as his own, and no one could take you away from him. He would shield you with his magic spell.
"Now go to sleep, sweetie. You look tired." He sent you to bed that night, and you closed your eyes, forgetting all the pain for a while. But even though you were asleep, you could still feel his presence around you. It made you shiver, and you could feel a headache coming on. You simply nodded your head and gave him one last look before falling asleep. You didn't want to think about what you had been through, or what you were even doing with your life.
For San, the demon, once he disappeared from your sight that night after you let out all the thoughts in your head, he knew where he was going and what he was going to do. He enjoyed his little show, and he enjoyed the actions he was going to take. It was no big deal to him. It was all just entertainment for him, giving people nightmares that they would never forget for the rest of their lives.
Tumblr media
Waking up in the middle of the night is never fun, especially when you're in a deep sleep. But it's even worse when you see San, standing beside your bed, smiling ear to ear. He's admiring you while you sleep in the cold and silent night he stood in your dark bedroom while you slept. His presence made you feel even more uneasy, but you can't help but notice the bloodstain on his shirt. His smile still on his face. "Don't worry, my love," he says. "The blood is not mine."
He did it. He granted your wish. He did everything you asked of him. The demon really came through for you. But now he's here to collect his due. He's here to take what he's owed. He spoke in a low tone, but you could hear the determination in his voice. "They will never bother you again," he said. "They will never lay their hands on you ever again. They will never because they are no longer able to." The people who had hurt you were no longer a threat. They were gone.
You sat on your bed in the darkness, listening to the clock ticking. Your breath was coming in short gasps. He had done what you had asked him to do. He had made sure that no one would ever hurt you again. But now you were starting to have doubts. Were you sure that this was the best choice? Were you supposed to be happy now? "I make it happen," he said. "Aren't it sound good? That no one will ever hurt you again, love."
You couldn't help but wonder what had happened to the people you hated the most in the world. You had summoned a demon to punish them, and you knew that they would suffer. But what about you? Would you be okay? Would your life turn out as bad as theirs?
You could see the demon's grin even in the darkness. He was the happiest one in the room. You wondered if it was a good thing that he was so happy. "Now what?" you whispered. You didn't have the energy to speak any louder. The demon had already taken so much of your energy. You felt weak and drained. "Come on, love," he said. "You know what it is."
You could smell the blood on him, and the clock ticking sound was now becoming so irritating. You asked him, "What do you want me to do?" He hummed in response. San leaned closer, cutting the pace between the two of you. "Nothing," he said. "I don't want you to do anything." You knew that you shouldn't get lost in his eyes, but you couldn't help it. His gaze was so captivating, and it felt like he could see right through you.
You could feel yourself falling under his spell, and you knew that you were in danger. But you couldn't look away. His eyes were a deep, dark brown, and they seemed to glow in the darkness. They were full of power and danger. "I don't need you to do anything, little one," he said. "No need to." He had done it. He had found himself a pure soul to bind to him. And it was going to be so much fun.
"You don't need to do anything. Just be pretty and come with me. I don't need you to do anything else. I just need your soul." He touched your face with his cold, bloody hand. He rubbed his thumb against your cheek. You were stuck. You couldn't run away. He would never let you go. "You will be so much happier with me," he said. "Your life will be so much better." In the cold of night, in the midst of darkness, and under his spell, he locked you away from the world and took you into his own.

❣️! Strange love !❣️
Tumblr media
Pairing : max verstappen X femOC (Cherrie)
Word count : 6.1k
Warnings: pure fluff / Cherrie being a menace. Max permanently being exasperated. That’s it I think xoxo
As Max stepped out from their bedroom in confusion after a while of not hearing his girlfriends loud voice bellowing out the lyrics to the songs that were blaring from the radio in the kitchen , he could only hesitantly poke his head around the corner with trepidation .
Because when his girlfriend went quiet , it was not a good sign.
The only time she ever shut her big mouth up was either when she was sleeping or doing something that she knew he wouldn't agree with.
Which was a lot . Because the love of his life apparently liked to keep him on his toes and was determined to give him Grey hair as soon as possible.
He spent about fifty percent of his time worrying about racing and the other fifty percent worrying about what the hell Cherrie was going to do next.
She was an absolute nutcase who didn't seem to ever think twice . She just did whatever strange idea popped into her head without even considering the consequences.
It was often Max that was left to deal with them. Rushing to fix whatever mess she had made and apologise to anybody that she had brought into her chaos as well.
He got asked a lot about why he was with her if he spent half the time scolding her or dragging her away from bad decisions.
She wasn't exactly the type of girl that people pictured him with.
She wasn't serious . She wasn't level headed or competitive . She wasn't like him at all.
Instead she was loud , obscene and careless. And barely ever did she take anything seriously .
He could remember the time that he had crashed a few months ago and instead of his girlfriend fretting over him and being in tears with worry, he had returned back to his trailer to find her waiting for him with some hello kitty plasters in her hands and a mischievous smile on her pretty face .
He hadn't been in the best of moods so he had huffed in annoyance at her .
"You can't be serious!" Yet he had stood still and let her plaster one on his cheek where there was the smallest of scratches from where he had pulled off his helmet too roughly.
She had merely laughed and patted him on the shoulder with a shrug . "That looked insane on tv. What did you do that for? Made my heart jump!" She had exclaimed as she hurried back over to the couch to continue watching the rest of the race that was playing out.
Max had gaped at her , hands pressed firmly on his hips in disbelief at what he was hearing.
"I didn't do it on purpose!" He had exclaimed looking at his girlfriend with a small pout when she had started to cheer on Charles in front of the tv instead of coddling him like he had stupidly expected.
Huffing to himself as he pulled off the rest of his suit and flung it aside , not caring where it landed.
He was too busy side eyeing Cherrie moodily , wanting her to make a fuss over him .
Having at least expected more than a little pat on the shoulder! But he should have known that his adrenaline junkie , uncaring , so fucking strange wonder of a girlfriend would act like this.
He had once watched her get stung by two jellyfishes and laugh about it. Forcing him to take a picture of her painful leg while he nearly had a full blown panic attack , hurriedly Googling if you could die from jelly fish stings.
So him crashing into the wall and getting out completely unharmed probably didn't even make her flinch.
She was a nutcase!
"I can't believe you're cheering on another man after I've just lost like that! Don't you have any pity for me Cher?" He couldn't help but wine as he threw himself down on-top of her so that she had no Choice but to pay him attention.
She had just smiled and ran her fingers through his hair , still not taking her eyes away from the screen not matter how hard he huffed and puffed.
"You haven't lost . You'll win the next race and then the next one after that .." she simply replied. Letting out a small cheer as Charles overtook Lewis around the corner bend.
Ignoring the way that Max was scowling up at her from her lap as she did so. Instead she just gently patted his cheek and even gave it a little pinch.
Realising that she wasn't going to give in, he let out a loud sigh of defeat. Snuggling his face into her thigh as he wrapped his arm around her leg and got more comfortable .
"You think I'll win?" His voice was quiet and unsure, needing reassurance after that little disaster of his.
There was no hesitation in her voice as she answered him "every time you get into that car I believe that you can win Max. I wouldn't be dating you if I thought you were a loser!" She joked .
Referring to the comments that had been made about her being after his money and only dating him for the fame. Cherrie thought they were funny because she hadn't even been that interested in him at first .
And max had spent the whole summer stubbornly following her around until she agreed to go on a date with him.
And well, the rest was history.
He was stuck with her annoying ass now.
But he had wanted her annoying ass first , so it was all his own fault really .
He had known how odd she was from the beginning. The first time that he had saw her while on holiday , she had been stood in front of a board with a smile on her pretty face while a blindfolded man threw knives around her head.
Watching the way she had giggled after it was done and asked the man if she could try doing that to him as well , and well, he had been hooked since then.
And true, she stressed him the fuck out sometimes but she also gave him some of the best , funniest and most insane memories of his life .
Everyday was an adventure with Cherrie by his side , she would drag him along to all this crazy shit that he would have never even had known existed if it wasn't for her.
So when people wondered why he was so firm in his belief that she was the one , he merely smiled and told them the same thing.
It was the way she made him feel.
She made him feel normal, she made him feel alive.
Since the moment he had met her butterfly's had become a permanent residence in his chest, no matter how much time passed between them, he still looked at her smile and felt the love right through his whole fucking being.
'But she makes you worry!' They would frown in confusion as to why he was willing to put up with a woman who permanently did stupid shit and had him on the edge of his seat.
I love her . He would simply reply. And when you loved someone you constantly worried about them. It was normal.
Perhaps his girlfriend wasn't exactly a hundred percent normal but the feeling he got whenever she did something stupid was.
But mostly it was because she loved him too. And she liked him.
She liked being around him no matter what mood he was in.
A lot of people didn't like to be around him because they thought that he was too brash and blunt , too boring and serious .
But not Cherrie.
She loved him and she liked him.
She had told him that she loved hearing him rant to her about the troubles with his car and crew even though she hardly understood the terms he was saying.
It's your passion. She had whispered to him one night after he was finished telling her about how he wasn't satisfied with the new engine that had been fitted and tested that day. Any other woman would have bored out of her mind but not her.
Never her.
Instead she had a pretty smile on her face as she rested her chin on his bare chest and looked up at him with a soft sigh. Contentness a heavy blanket around them.
You mean everything that you say. I can feel it.
And he loved her and liked her too.
He loved being by her side in the morning while she sat up in bed and tried out some brightly coloured eyeshadow that would start out on her eyes and then spread down to her Cheeks.
Getting Glitter everywhere as she drew art on her face without a care in the world while he silently laid back in bed and took pictures other without her even knowing .
He loved watching her try new foods after he had spent all night convincing her to do so. The way that she would scrunch up her nose and let out a little hum as she tasted it. Although she would never admit that he was right . Instead she would just swap their plates around and give him a apologetic kiss.
He loved the way that he was the one that she ran to when she had news or even just to tell him stupid shit that meant absolutely nothing.
He liked that he was always the one that she wanted to know about it first .
He liked the way that she would take the lead in a busy crowd and reach back for his hand without even saying a word. He would let her pull him to whatever destination she had in mind, knowing that no matter what they did she would make him happy.
He liked the way that she wasn't afraid to stick up for him either. Having picked up on some of his own bluntness and curses , she wouldn't hesitate to go up to someone that had wronged him and call them out. Refusing to budge until she had forced that person to apologise to him face to face , sincerely.
Max thought it was funny that his five foot four girlfriend was such a wildcard. It always was the short ones that were the craziest after all.
What she lacked in height she made up for in impulsiveness .
His friends often liked to tease him about how he looked like a concerned father with a naughty child that was acting out . He supposed they weren't that wrong to think so.
He knew that he was the mature one in their relationship, that wasn't a secret .
So with her lack of loudness making him uneasy , he walked into the kitchen with worry and then paused by the doorway at the sight in front of him.
Making direct eye contact with his girlfriend who was sat cross legged on their dining table with only her lace knickers on, with scissors held up to her head as she tried to cut herself some bangs. A heap of hair already covering her lap .
He could see that she had also hacked at the ends of her hair too. It now rested to the middle of her waist instead of the bottom of her back like it had an hour ago.
He sighed loudly , not at all surprised.
“We have dinner in half an hour Cher." He stated matter of factly as he glanced down at his watch with worry.
"Was now really the right time for a new look?" He asked her as he walked over to her and gently took the scissors from her hands before she could do any more damage to her pretty hair.
She just smiled and laughed a little at the look on his face . Smoothing her hand over his smart dress shirt with a appreciative hum.
"You look handsome." She told him as she leant up to kiss him. Momentarily forgetting about the mess of hair she was dealing with.
Max didn't. He let her kiss him for a moment longer before pulling away and looking sternly down at her.
Patting down her new bangs so he could see how uneven she had cut them, shaking his head at her in exasperation.
"You look insane. Couldn't you have waited baby? Keep still a minute while I fix it.." he told her firmly as he began to fix her bangs for her.
Lifting up the scissors to her hair and Cutting off the longer pieces till they were all even , grabbing the brush from beside her and brushing through them to make sure that it was right.
Missing the way that Cherrie was gazing at him fondly as he focused on cutting her hair. Sectioning the rest of her her hair into two parts and pulling them to the front of her chest so he could see what he was working with.
"My dress is low on the back so I wanted my hair to rest at the end of the fabric so it covers it." She simply informed him of her brilliant idea.
He rolled his eyes in amusement as he started cutting the end of her hair straight.
Typical. He thought with a smirk .
“why the bangs then? What does that cover?" He murmured with a small smile, one that he just couldn't help but let out whenever she was near.
Cherrie just hummed "absolutely nothing. I just thought they'd look cute. Don't you agree?" She pressed when he was finally done. Shaking out her hair and shooting him a pleased grin , her dimples showing.
Max wiped down the hair from her skin the best he could , trying to ignore the fact that the love of his life was sat in front of him with just a thong on.
They had a important dinner to get to. He reminded himself firmly as he tore his eyes away from her pierced tits and back up to her glimmering eyes instead .
"Don't play cute with me. You know I think you look good in anything." He warned her playfully as he helped her get down off the table.
"We're going to be late. You can be the one to tell them why this time! I'm not covering for you again!" He told her seriously. Fed up with her constant lateness.
Having been the one to take the blame the last time she had made them late because she wanted to finish watching the football match first. Even though max had told her that they could simply record it on their tv so she could rewatch it when they got back instead.
You would have though he had told her to kill one of the players with the disgraced look she had shot him at his rational suggestion.
“It’s not the same! I want to see it as it happens! That’s like messi being in our house and instead of seeing him we just get someone else to take a video so we can watch it when he’s gone! Don’t be ridiculous Max!” She had yelled at him dramatically before shoving a football jersey over his head and grabbing the beers, shoving one into his hand with a grin as the game started.
So Max had been forced to yet again lie to his friends.
'I couldn't find the car keys. Sorry guys .'He had told their friends with a grimace as he held out the seat for his girlfriend who was already tipsy from downing beer after beer during the match , once they finally arrived an hour later .
Cherrie absolutely buzzing from her teams win. She hasn’t stopped beaming since he managed to finally drag her out of their home and into the car.
He supposed the face paint with her favourite players number on her cheeks really hadn't helped to sell his lie either.
But Cherrie refused to be the one to take the blame despite everybody knowing that the reason he was always late was 99.9% always her fault.
Cherrie just huffed at him as she pulled her dress over her head , wiggling her body from side to side as she tried to adjust it. Leaving Max to stare at the low neck and cut out sides and back with an open mouth.
Swallowing Thickly as he looked at her in awe. Feeling like he was going to have a stroke as he tugged at the collar of his shirt , his skin flushing just from the sight of her.
He didn’t think that there would ever be a day where her beauty didn’t make him breathless.
"Please baby! They're already pissy with me for making us late to your birthday party a few weeks ago!" She whined as she leant down to slide her feet into some high heels. Placing her hand on his shoulder to keep her balance .
Max snorted as he ran his fingers through her newly cut hair to help it frame her face like he knew she liked it.
"Once again. That was your fault. Because only you could make me late to my own surprise party." He mused beyond amused at the reminder of that day .
His friends had spent two hours in a darkened room waiting for him to come through the door so that they could jump out and surprise him.
Only Cherrie had taken him one look at him wearing the new tight shirt and even tighter jeans that she had bought him before dragging him to the backseat of his car .
It was only after the third orgasm that she had came back up for air with a shocked gasp , eyes wide as she blurted out 'your party!' Before quickly pulling her dress back down and dragging him out of the car while he hurried to button up his jeans again.
His friends had taken on look at his lipstick covered face and neck , as well as her swollen lips and messy hair before rolling their eyes and scolding her for not being able to keep her hands off him while max just helped himself to his cake while laughing hysterically .
Cherrie looked up at him pleadingly as he ushered her out the door while muttering about how late they were. Again.
"Please max! Just tell them that you had stomach troubles or something! I don't want them to know it's my fault again!" She pleaded to him.
Max merely shot her a unimpressed glance as he shoved her into the passenger seat of his car with a huff.
"Absolutely not. I'm not taking the blame this time! Forget it! You’re on your own with this one!”
Max gave their friends a apologetic smile as they finally arrived at the table, everyone looking up at them exasperatedly .
He glanced between their unimpressed expressions and his girlfriends pretty face with her newly cut hair and sighed in deafest.
"Sorry we're late ..I had some stomach troubles." He blurted out .
Shooting cherrie a look as she tried not to giggle from beside him.
Having already known that he wouldn't let her take the blame no matter how much he wanted to throw her under the bus.
He loved her too much to actually do it.
Charles looked over at him with a concerned frown "like food poisoning or something? I hope there's not a bug going around." He questioned him worriedly.
Max grimaced as he pulled out a chair for Cherrie and carefully tucked her into the table before sitting down beside her. Placing his hand on her thigh.
"Maybe. I'm fine now though. Don't worry." He muttered not looking at him in the eye in case the lie was written all across his face.
Then he ended up catching eyes with Daniel who was already grinning between them, his cheek in his hand as he eyed Max’s girlfriend in amusement.
"New hair?" He asked making max frown at him in bewilderment as he wondered how the hell he had noticed so quickly .
“You didn't have bangs this morning Cherrie ." He said knowingly.
Then max remembered that Cherrie always met up at the cafe with Daniel after her morning work out and fought back a annoyed groan.
Turning his head to squint his eyes in disbelief at his sheepish girlfriend who had seemed to forgotten that little detail .
"Did you cut them while max had the shits?" Daniel joked. Already guessing what had happened but ribbing him for it.
"Max has the shits?" Pierre called down the table , only catching the end of what he said.
It seemed to set a chain reaction as everybody started questioning him about his bowel movements .
Max's Face went bright red as he glared at his giggling girlfriend who he had lied for. Shaking his head with a annoyed huff as he pinched her thigh in retaliation.
"No I don't have the shits!" He exclaimed a little louder than he meant to. Making a few peoples heads turn towards their table.
He wanted to dig a hole and bury himself in it. He was going to take Cherrie with him too for putting him in this awkward position!
Their was a pause before Cherrie snorted and muttered "try telling that to our toilet."
Max smacked the back of her head .
"That's it! No wine for you!" He yanked the glass from her hands with a scowl. Sliding the bottle away from her as well in punishment .
That was the last time he covered for her. He lied to himself . No more!
He ended up telling his health coach that he had injured his wrists from his gloves being too tight when he asked him why his wrists were red.
Too mortified to admit that it was because Cherrie had the idea to tie him up and make him see god an hour before he had to get to the paddock.
Just another normal Wednesday.
As Max stood by the side of the track that overlooked a lake, looking over the barrier down at his girlfriend who has thrown herself in after stripping naked , he couldn't help but sigh.
Hands on his hips like a concerned parent as he watched  her splash around , frown deepening even further as Daniel also threw himself in as well.
He had just won p1 and Cherrie had decided to skinny dip to celebrate . He mightn't have been so annoyed if it wasn't for the hundreds of cameras that were following them around all day.
He really didn't want his girlfriend's naked body to be seen by anybody but him.
Feeling his blood pressure rise as he watched Daniel splash at her as the both of them laughed loudly , playing Around like little kids.
"Not so close Daniel!" He snapped down to his also naked friend in exasperation and worry as he saw how close the both were to each other . He did not want any part of Daniel's body to be touching hers.
Daniel just laughed and grinned up at him cheekily .
"Who's going to keep her warm then?! Just get in! It's nice!" He called up to him , Cherrie shouting her agreements as she leant her arm against his shoulder and beamed up at him happily .
Seemingly not giving too shits that everybody could see her tits as she waved up at him happily.
It was times like this that max often wondered if she did drugs when he wasn't looking.
It would make a lot of sense. It really would.
"Absolutely not! All of you need to get out and put your clothes back on! Especially you baby!" He shouted at them sternly as he took the towels from his assistants hands that he had asked her to run for.
Daniel cooed at him "aww he's nicknamed me baby how sweet! I knew you'd come around to our love Max!" He teased him. Deliberately putting his arm around cherries bare shoulder just to wind him up some more .
Max hated it when the two of them were together because all Daniel ever did was encourage his girlfriend to do crazy shit and instead of talking her down from the ledge , he jumped off it with her!
"Shut up! Watch your hands Daniel! I'm serious!"
Cherrie just laughed at his furious expression, not caring at all.
"I'm so proud of you by the way! Watching you get soaked with champagne was really hot!" She shouted up at him honestly.
Eyeing his sticky racing suit with a raise of her brow "are you sure you doing want to jump in and wash it off?" She double checked.
Max just deadpanned at her. Shaking his head with a exasperated groan. Giving up.
"You're very lucky that I love you Cherrie because you're getting on my nerves." He informed her bluntly before pulling out his phone and pressing a familiar contact.
He then looked at her in the eye smugly as he brought his phone up to his ear.
"But If you won't listen to me then I guess I'll just have to call your father-" he threatened her. Pulling out the last card in the pack, the one that he knew would work without any hesitation.
Grinning slyly when she let out a sharp gasp and quickly pushed herself away from Daniel who was calling him a party pooper as they both pulled themselves out of the water.
"Don't ring him! You bastard!" She ran over to him completely naked . Making him pocket his phone in amusement . She then Let him wrap her up in the towel till she was swaddled in it like a big baby.
Chuckling to himself as he wrapped one around her hair too, rubbing at the fabric to dry her quicker .
Daniel side eyed them as he wrapped himself in his own towel . "Are you sure you're not her daddy max? You're always telling her off like one!" He joked while laughing.
Max couldn't stop the smirk that pulled at his lips , eyes twinkling as Cherrie placed a kiss on his neck and whispered in his ear about how she was going to personally congratulate him for winning when they got home.
"I'm just a concerned boyfriend who doesn't want the whole world to see his girlfriends boobs." He said as he then wrapped her in a dressing gown as well. Flipping the hood up to keep her warm.
Daniel just smirked "too late mate." He then turned to look at Cherrie with a friendly smile .
“They’re very nice. Lovely and round." He told her casually as though he was complimenting some fruit .
Cherrie beamed back at him happily. "thank you! Grew them myself!" She joked . The both of them ignoring Max's eyes glaring daggers at them.
Shaking his head with a disbelieving huff as he decided that he had enough of the two of them being around each other .
He hauled his girlfriend away before they decided to do some more stupid shit together that would make his blood pressure rise rapidly.
"Love you." Cherrie muttered to him quietly as they made their way back to his trailer . Tucked underneath his arm where she belonged .
Max softened , any annoyance he felt quickly fading at the honesty in her voice .
He just sighed fondly and gave the side of her head a gently kiss .
"I love you." He simply replied. So utterly in love that it overwhelmed him.
Because If be didn't love her like he did , he would have ran away screaming from her years ago.
She was an absolute pain in his ass.
It was a clear fact that was further proven to him when she tried to breakup with him one night after they had been arguing over why he thought it was a bad idea to get a dog.
He couldn't believe what he was hearing when she first told him that she wanted a pug.
He had looked at her in disbelief , feeling the need to remind her the obvious.
“You're allergic to dogs." It was said bluntly and in bewilderment as he wondered what the hell she was going on about.
They couldn't get a dog when she was allergic to them! Had she gone mad?
Cherrie had frowned at him like what he told her was a lie . As though she didn't start sneezing and coughing up a lung whenever she touched one.
"I can take medicine to help. I want one Max. It's too lonely when you're not here with me !" She had exclaimed , upset  with him as she threw herself up off the bed .
Flicking on the lamp as she glared down at him unhappily .
It was three o'clock in the morning and max couldn't believe that she had woken him up for this shit.
Rubbing at his eyes tiredly as he squinted up at her from the bed. Judgement across his face. He found it hard to have patience with her when it was this early in the fucking morning!
He had just been nodding off too!
"Don't be daft! You'll make yourself ill! And how can you be lonely when you constantly have those hippies around here when I'm gone? Don't think I can't smell the lavender oil that they leave behind!" He warned her. Huffing in annoyance.
Cherrie just wouldn't let it go. Tired and emotional herself and max had known that it was a bad idea for them to watch a heartbreak chick flick film before bed.
But he had still let her put it on anyways .
And now he was paying the price because his girlfriend was a melodramatic drama queen who had watched a film about a man who didn't love his girlfriend anymore , who had also refused to let them get a dog in the film as well.
Clearly she had gotten it into her head that they were doomed to be like the characters too. Having tested him all night long with utter bullshit.
"They say a man is falling out of love when he spends more time on his phone when his partner is right beside him to talk to." She had muttered with a scowl when he had been replying to some work emails on his phone before bed.
Knowing that she had heard it from that stupid movie , he had merely glanced up at her in amusement .
"Do you like your diamond jewellery  and expensive clothes?" He had returned to her . Their huge closet filled with her shit already giving him the answer .
She had just frowned harder. Not answering him.
He smirked triumphantly "these emails I'm answering about promotions will get you more of those things . So shut your trap and get back into bed." He scolded her.
Only perhaps he should have settled her mind further than that before they went to sleep.
Maybe then she wouldn't have been trying to break up with him because he wouldn't let her get a dog.
"We need to break up max . This isn't going to work. You obviously don't understand my needs anymore-"
Max Couldn’t have scoffed any louder if he tried. Finally Sitting up in the bed with a loud, annoyed groan as he eyed her in disbelief .
"Your need to annoy me you mean?" He yawned, casually leaning back against the pillow with a small amused smile playing on his lips .
The look on his face only seemed to piss her off even more but he couldn't help it.
She was being completely ridiculous!
She then sniffled loudly, dialling up her drama.
"why are you smiling? Are you happy that I'm not your girlfriend anymore?" She almost cried . Glaring back at him tearfully.
Max just snorted , rolling his eyes at her .
“We're not breaking up stupid. Now Get back into the bed!" He snapped at her tiredly .
Pointing sternly to the space beside him, impatiently patting it to further get his point across when she made no love to do as he said.
"No! You obviously don’t want me to be happy!"
"Because I don't want you to get a pet that's going to make you never breathe properly again?!"
"You're being dramatic! I'll just take the medicine for my allergies!"
Max groaned  loudly , covering his face with his hands as he tried not to lose his shit at her.
"Me? You're being crazy." He ground out "I never said we couldn't get a pet. Just not a dog that you’re allergic to !"
There was a long pause before Cherrie blinked away her tears and cautiously approached the bed again.
"A cat?" She murmured hopefully. Already crawling back into the bed and sliding underneath the covers now that her hysterics were over. Knowing that she was about to get her own way again.
Perhaps also opening that bottle of wine during the movie was a bad idea too.
Max had forgotten how emotional she got after drinking it. It was like she went through five stages of grief when she drank red wine.
He wrapped his arms around her shoulders with his eyes already closed, kissing the side of her head with a little laugh.
"Fine but you're changing the litter tray." He warned her. Feeling her smile brightly against his chest.
"I will! I promise! You won't have to do anything!" She had promised him gleefully . Giving him a kiss before promptly falling back to sleep now that she had gotten her own way.
Leaving max to sigh to himself as he tried to go back to sleep. Having a feeling that she wouldn’t be that helpful at all.
It just wasn’t in cherries nature to pick up cat poo.
Yet another lie of here that was proven as two weeks later he was knelt down with a grimace as he cleaned out the litter box for the fluffy ginger cat that was nudging him against his leg.
Glaring up at his girlfriend who was dancing around the kitchen while singing to the radio , without a care in the world.
Instead she was too busy rambling on about how she was going to get herself some pole dancing lessons, jumping from one subject to another. Filled with endless ideas ths never seemed to stop.
Sighing to himself as he finished cleaning it up and set out some food for the fur ball as well .
Then he got to his feet and pursed his lips as he eyed the love of his life with a feeling of acceptance.
This was going to be the rest of his life.
Pretending that he wore the trousers in their relationship and acting like he wasn't ready to do anything he could to make her happy .
Even if it meant cleaning up cat poo so that she didn’t have to.
So with that thought in mind, how he must be crazy to love her even more than he did yesterday despite how much she drove him up the wall.
He knew it was time.
He walked over to her and gently grabbed her hand , making her look over at him with a curious
smile on her pretty face.
"What's up handsome?" She had chirped obliviously at him. Leaning forward to give him a quick kiss.
Not even noticing the way he pulled something out of his Jean pocket and slid it smoothly onto her finger , his eyes locked with hers as he let out a small laugh at how oblivious she was.
"I'm gonna be your husband." He decided to tell her bluntly .
Because he had no doubt in his mind that if he decided to plan a fancy proposal that she would somehow find a way to ruin in.
Not on purpose but that was just the way she was.
So instead he settled on simply letting her know instead.
Cherrie looked at him with wide eyes before finally noticing the diamond ring on her finger.
Then she did the most her thing possible and laughed loudly in response .
Casually shrugging her shoulders as she wrappped her arms around his neck and gave him a soft kiss.
"Okay. Sounds fun." She simply said once they pulled away to breathe again .
"Yeah?" He grinned . Looking between her eyes to be sure. His heart squeezing in his chest, so full of love for his little pain in the ass.
She just beamed back at him happily. As in love with him as he was her .
"yeah. I'm gonna be your wife."
Then she tilted her head cheekily "can we get married in Vegas after you win the race there?" The pure confidence that she had that he would win that race made him grin like a lovesick idiot.
Squeezing her hips and blinking back happy tears from his eyes as he kissed her again and again and again.
They could get married in the basement for all he cared. As long as she was officially his to worry about for the rest of his life , he didn't care.
She may have been a little strange but she was his wildcard  . Nobody else's.
He wouldn't change her for anyone.

I had just broken up with the man I thought was the love of my life. Nothing made sense anymore: the sky was permanently gray, the grass was dead beneath my feet, and the chirping of birds had become a melancholic tune. Life had lost its vibrancy, leaving behind a hollow emptiness.
We had been together for six years. To my twenty-four-year-old self, it felt like an eternity. But then, it all came crashing down. The signs were there, lingering in the shadows. Silently warning us of the inescapable end, but neither of us wanted to face the turmoil of ending a relationship that had lasted for so long.
However, as days turned into nights, we found ourselves tangled in neverending arguments. Even when we were together, I felt alone. The solitude became impossible to deal with, and we couldn't bear the weight of our shared life any longer. Honestly, I still struggle to pinpoint the moment where it all went wrong.
Despite everything, a part of me still cares for him. Perhaps that's why I made the difficult decision to sever our ties. I couldn't stand to hurt him any more than I was already doing by simply existing by his side. Each fight pushed him further away, and the thought of his fading presence tormented me.
Eventually, I reached my breaking point. Something had to change. So, with a heavy heart, I decided to officially end what had long been over. In that final moment, as we parted ways, not a single tear fell from his eyes, and that realization cut me deep. I had hoped to see a glimpse of emotion, a reminder of what we once had. But it became clear that I had been mistaken, painfully wrong about his feelings. The truth hit me hard and shattered me into countless pieces.
I felt utterly lost. There was no other way to put it. Waking up each morning became a burden, and I found myself hoping to die in my sleep. The days lacked any meaning. My friends were concerned, and my family shared the bruises of my heartache. After all, he had become part of our lives during those six long years.
But then, on that fateful day, everything changed.
It was my final semester of college, the moment when I was supposed to embrace my dream of becoming a mechanical engineer, fueled by my passion for motorsports. But now, it all seemed foolish and pointless. Every ambition had lost its spark.
In one of my last classes, vehicle electronics and control systems, tears started to melt my notebook pages, forcing me to leave early. I sat on a bench outside the building, next to the parking lot, gaining the courage to return home and confront my feelings again. There weren't any more pictures of us in my room, but the memories of moments shared in it were still there.
That's when Lana, one of my closest friends and an audio engineering major, found me.
"That's it!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with frustration. "I can't take this any longer, YN! I know you're hurting, but you have to move on. You ended things a month ago, but you said it yourself: it's been over for nearly a year!"
"But Lana—" I tried to interject, but she cut me off, refusing to listen.
"I've got backstage passes to a festival I'll be working on next week, and you're coming with me. No excuses. I don't care if I have to drag you by your hair." Her determination startled me, but I knew she was right. "Come on, YN! Pretty please?" she pleaded, putting on that irresistible lost dog face that I could never say no to. She even added the praying hands this time. There was no way I could escape her demands.
"Okay," I relented, sniffing and wiping away the tears from my cheeks. She had a point. I couldn't bury myself in this hole any longer. It was time to start crawling out of it.
"Yay!" she exclaimed, jumping up and down with joy. "That band you love so much is playing on Saturday! The Arctic something, you know?" she said casually.
"I beg your pardon?" I shot up from my seat, disbelief washing over me. "The freaking Arctic Monkeys are going to be playing, and I have a backstage pass?" It felt too incredible to be true. There was no way in hell something like that would happen to me—the unluckiest person in the world.
"Yup, that's the one. So you're going!?" she said happily.
"Of course I am. I had bought tickets to it long ago, but with everything that happened, I guess I kinda forgot about..."
"Hey, hey, stop it!" She cut me off once again. "You're not allowed to say his name or even think about him!" she protested. "I'll be working, though, but maybe that's a good thing. You could try to find some other monkey stan to hook up with!" she said with a mischievous smile.
Lana is unbelievably straightforward. But I think that's why I love her. My silly little girl. My best friend.
I chuckled at her suggestion, shaking my head in both amusement and disbelief. "You never fail to surprise me, Lana. Finding another 'monkey stan' " I scoffed "I just want to enjoy the music and forget about everything else. No more falling in love."
Lana nodded, her expression softening. "I get it, YN. This is your chance to have a great time." It was a statement, and I knew that she would make sure of that.
Her words resonated with me. Maybe this concert was exactly what I needed—an opportunity to let go of the past and rediscover my own happiness. I smiled at my friend, grateful for her support.
"Thank you, Lana. For being here. I appreciate you more than you know."
She grinned back at me, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I know, I know! I love you too, YN. Also, that's what friends are for".
With newfound determination and insane anticipation, we made plans for the festival. Lana shared more details about it and the lineup of incredible artists that would grace the stage on that weekend. But the thought of seeing the Arctic Monkeys perform live is what filled me with a mix of nervous excitement and sheer bliss.
Finally, the day of the concert had arrived, and I couldn't contain my excitement. I slipped into my favorite band t-shirt, a quirky image of the members dressed as clowns and the words "who the fuck's Arctic Monkeys?" boldly printed across it. With the backstage pass hanging proudly around my neck, I could feel the anticipation building up inside me.
Lana, being the amazing friend she was, had made sure everything was perfectly arranged for us. As we ventured backstage, the air buzzed with an electric energy that sent shivers down my spine. From my privileged viewpoint, I could see the massive crowd and the whole stage, just waiting for the Monkeys to take their places.
"Hey, listen," Lana said, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and responsibility. "I have to go work now, but you stay here and have the time of your life, okay? Text me if you need anything or decide to explore elsewhere. I love you!" She planted a kiss on my head before disappearing into the backstage area.
Not long after she left, the stage lights illuminated the massive venue, and the band made their entrance from the opposite side I was at. The opening chords of the first song reverberated through the speakers, igniting a surge of excitement and cheers from the crowd. I surrendered myself to the music, letting it embrace me completely, like a warm blanket. The world around me faded away, leaving only the hypnotizing rhythm and the lyrics that resonated with my soul.
With tears streaming down my face, I allowed the familiar melodies to stir deep emotions within me. Each song evoked a different feeling, and I embraced every single one. I couldn't help but dance like there was no tomorrow, losing myself in the moment. The euphoria overwhelmed me, and it felt like I was floating on a cloud of pure bliss.
As the concert progressed, around the third song or so, I caught a glimpse of Alex looking in my general direction. My heart skipped a beat, but I quickly dismissed it as a mere coincidence. He was probably just checking out his surroundings or searching for someone from the production team. I decided to step to the side, not wanting to obstruct his view, and to my surprise his head turned with me as I moved over.
Our eyes briefly locked, and in that split second, I could feel my whole face burning up. Was he actually looking at me? It felt like a fever dream, the kind you never expect to come true. It was probably the effect of one too many unlimited drinks I had enjoyed, courtesy of my backstage access.
Whether it was a genuine look or a result of my tipsy imagination, I couldn't help but revel in the moment. The music enveloped me, drowning out any doubts or rational thoughts. I surrendered myself to the rhythm, dancing like an old lady, feeling the pure bliss of being swept away by the insane energy of the concert.
The combination of the music, the crowd's energy, and the enchanting presence of Alex on stage created an atmosphere that was nothing short of magical.
'Arabella' was the sixth song played that night, and I'll never forget it. As soon as I heard that familiar guitar at the beginning of the song, I could feel the excitement running through my veins. It is one of my all-time favorite songs, a track that holds a special place in my heart. I can't quite put into words what it makes me feel, but it is a mix of exhilaration, warmth, and an indescribable amazing sensation.
My legs turned to jelly, and I found myself leaning against a nearby wall for support as I watched in awe. The combination of Cookie's amazing guitar riffs, Matt's powerful drumming skills, and Nick's pulsating bass lines drove the crowd into a frenzy. The energy was palpable, radiating through every beat and note.
My attention was drawn to Matt and his extraordinary talent behind the drum kit. His precision and sheer passion were a sight to behold. As I focused on him, completely immersed in the music, that indescribable feeling of watching my favorite band perform live washed over me one more time.
And then, it happened again. When I shifted my gaze towards Alex, I found him looking straight at me. Our eyes locked in for the second time that night, making my cheeks flush. I was grateful for the dim lighting that hid my embarrassment.
As he sang, a smile formed on his lips, almost like he knew what he was doing: singing my favorite song and looking straight into my eyes. I felt like he was singing it just for me. It was a crazy moment, and it made me down the rest of my beer in one gulp. I swear he let out a soft chuckle, away from the microphone.
As the last verse sounded through the air, I knew I had to sing along with the crowd, my voice merging with the chorus. "That's magic! On a cheetah print coat!" The lyrics echoed around me, lighting up my face with a huge smile while the tear roamed free.
As the concert continued, there were a few more instances when my and Alex's eyes met, a fleeting connection in the midst of the electrifying atmosphere. But I brushed it off, convincing myself that it was just part of his stage presence, a way to engage with the audience.
But, as the final notes of the last song gradually faded into the air, signaling the end of an unforgettable night, I figured that Alex would follow his bandmates, disappearing into the same entrance he came from. To my surprise, he broke away from the rest of the guys, walking towards the side of the stage I was at.
His steps were purposeful and determined, making my heart race as he approached. The gap between us was closing quickly, and I tried to steady my trembling hands and calm my racing thoughts.
A rush of excitement and disbelief flooded me as he stood before me, and I was hit by the combination of wood, whisky, and tobacco scent that he emanated, leaving me momentarily speechless. His eyes sparkled with exhaustion and genuine appreciation.
"You sure look like you had a great time, love," he said with a husky voice, sending shivers down my spine. I couldn't help but let the butterflies fly around my stomach by the way he casually referred to me as 'love,' that charming British accent adding an extra layer of charm to his character.
I mustered a shy smile. His presence was magnetic and the whirlwind of emotions inside me made it difficult to speak.
His gaze traveled up and down my figure, a playful glimmer danced in Alex's eyes as he glanced at my t-shirt. "Your choice of attire is quite captivating," he said, letting out a laugh that made my cheeks flush. "Join me for a beer, will ya?" he asked, his tone more of a confident statement than a mere question, gesturing for me to follow him deeper into the backstage area.
"Al, mate, come join us!" Matt's voice carried excitement for the post-show celebration. "We're going out for-"
"Not tonight, man," Alex responded without even glancing in Matt's direction, his eyes fixed on mine, unyielding. "I think I'll just head back to the hotel. Thanks, though."
I stood there, stunned, as Alex brushed off his friend's invitation without a second thought, leaving me wondering if he had a different plan in mind. Matt shrugged and joined the rest of the band, while I remained rooted to the spot, my mind swirling.
"Well, it looks like I have some free time," Alex's eyes held a glimmer of curiosity and a hint of a smile danced on his lips. "How about we grab that beer we were talking 'bout?"
Excitement coursed through my body, and I nodded eagerly, unable to contain my smile. "Sounds great," I replied, my voice filled with faked confidence. "Lead the way."
As Alex led me through the backstage area, we entered a private room tucked away from the bustling crowd. The moment the door closed behind us, the noise dissipated, leaving behind a sense of tranquility. The room was dimly lit, adorned with vintage music posters and instruments that had an aura of creative energy.
Alex approached a small cooler, grabbing a couple of cold beers, and handing one to me. "Here you go," he said with a charming smile. "Make yourself at home, darlin'. I'm just gonna change real quick,"
"Thank you," I replied, accepting the beer gratefully. My heart raced, the British mannerisms swiping me off my feet again. I watched him disappear into the bathroom, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
As Alex left, I took a moment to take in the room. The instruments scattered across the space caught my attention, particularly the grand piano sitting in the corner. My fingers itched with the desire to touch the keys. It had been ages since I last played one.
Leaving my beer on a nearby table, I made my way to the piano bench. Sitting down with my back turned to the bathroom door, I ran my fingers gently over the smooth ivory keys, and began to play a familiar tune, allowing the notes to flow from my fingertips.
The sound filled the room, a gentle melody that mirrored my emotions. I closed my eyes, losing myself in the music, letting it carry me away from the moment. When I was younger, I used to say that the piano was my voice, expressing the emotions that my words couldn't capture.
The sound of footsteps made me snap back into reality. I swiftly rose from the bench, ready to apologize for my impromptu performance, but before any words could escape my lips, Alex interjected.
"Please, don't" Alex said, his voice laced with a hint of awe. He stood at a distance, his eyes fixed on me and his hands shoved into the pockets of his worn leather jacket. "That was beautiful. You have a gift."
"Thank you," I managed to say, my voice betraying any attempt at sounding nonchalant. "It's been a while since I've played."
He chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with playful charm. "Well, consider me a lucky man then."
A genuine smile spread across my face as I admired Alex's transformed appearance. He had tidied up his hair and changed into a sleek white collar dress shirt that accentuated his abs. His leather jacket added a touch of rebellious charm, and he was wearing that illegally sexy scarf of his.
"You look like a brand new person." I remarked, walking past him to retrieve my beer can.
He smirked, a flicker of amusement dancing in his eyes. "A change of clothes and a splash of cologne can work wonders, wouldn't you agree?" he replied, his voice dripping with playful modesty.
I smiled at him once again, feeling a sense of ease settling between us. Taking a sip from my beer can, I realized I hadn't properly introduced myself. "I'm YN, by the way," I said, trying to keep the conversation casual.
"It's a pleasure, YN. I'm Alex," he replied warmly, his voice inviting. I couldn't help but chuckle quietly, knowing exactly who the musical genius before me was.
"The pleasure is all mine," I responded, lifting my can in a toast. The clinking sound filled the air.
His gaze shifted towards the vinyl player nestled in the corner of the room, catching his attention. He walked over to it, selected a disc and delicately placed it on the turntable. The soft crackle of the needle meeting the vinyl filled the air, as the melodic tunes gracefully unfolded.
Returning his focus to me, his eyes sparkled with curiosity, a genuine interest shining through. "So, YN, what brings you here tonight?" he inquired, his voice carrying a gentle warmth.
I couldn't help but laugh at his question. "Aside from your amazing songs?" I replied playfully, my gaze meeting his. "Well, my friend is working backstage, and she managed to get me a ticket. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see you perform live."
He nodded, a hint of appreciation in his eyes, and then he extended his hand towards me, gently taking hold of my beer can and setting it aside.
"Will you dance with me, YN?" he asked, his voice turning my thoughts into a blissful haze, as my name rolled off his tongue.
My heart skipped a beat, and I eagerly placed my hand in his, feeling the warmth of his touch. "I'd be delighted," I replied, my voice had a hint of nervousness to it. "I must warn you, though, I'm not the best dancer."
He simply smiled, his touch steady yet gentle, as his other hand found its place on my waist, effortlessly guiding me across the dance floor. We moved in harmony, a mixture of playful twirls and gentle sways, surrendering ourselves to the embrace of the music.
The song came to an end, and as if on cue, Alex pulled me even closer, making me look at him. The room buzzed with energy. His hand, which had been resting on my waist, moved to the back of my head, gently tangling in my hair, sending a thrilling shiver down my spine.
My lips parted with a soft sigh, surrendering to the gentle tug he made on my hair. The reaction prompted Alex, as he leaned in, allowing our lips to touch in a delicate kiss.
His lips were soft and insistent, exploring every inch of my mouth. It felt like he was perfect.
The room was filled with the gentle white noise of the needle scratching the record, creating a soothing ambiance. But then my phone started buzzing in the background. We initially ignored it, lost in our passionate exchange, but after it rang three times, Alex broke the kiss.
"Maybe you should answer that, doll," he whispered, his fingers caressing my hair as he brought me back to reality.
"Hey, Lan," I said softly, my gaze locked into his dark brown eyes. He stared right back at me.
"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!?" Lana's voice boomed through the phone, making me hold it away from my ear.
Alex burst into laughter, seemingly amused by the situation.
"I'm sorry, Lana. I got carried away," I explained.
"Oh, come on! Who's with you? I heard laughter," Lana teased, her voice adopting a playful tone. "Did you meet someone?"
"Oh, she definitely met someone," Alex interjected, his distinct accent making his words stand out.
"Is that-" Lana started to ask, but her question remained unfinished. It was an overwhelming experience for me.
"May I?" Alex asked, reaching for my phone, and I nodded.
"She's alright, Lana. She'll be with you shortly," he assured her before ending the call.
"One for the road?" he whispered, his fingers gently tracing my swollen lips.
I chuckled in response, and he leaned in, our lips meeting once again in a passionate embrace.
"Can I have your number?" he asked, his forehead resting against mine.

This has been rotting in my drafts since May, I truly didn't know how to end it so I just left an open ending I guess.
I also experimented writing in first person, which I don't intend on doing anymore tbh but let me know if you liked it anyways.
I've been asked a couple times to tag people, so lmk if you'd like to be tagged on my next fic.
As always, love youuu 💕💕💕

(Hopefully this doesn’t sound too cringe)This is Dusk, a NightWing/SkyWing hybrid, and she hatched under two full moons, as well as the highest mountain, as the dragonet of Eris the NightWing and Icarus the animus SkyWing.
Her parents scoured for anything on how to take care of an animus dragonet, as well as Eris contacting a family friend, Hope, formerly known as FoeSlayer, to get some advice so that Dusk’s soul doesn’t waste away like Darkstalker’s.
She wasn’t allowed to use her magic until she was of age, and she was taught throughout her life that she should be careful when using it, and when she was old enough, she was given an earring that would help her make good decisions when she’s about to enchant something.

When I was 13 I was in the cafeteria telling my friends about my new sans OC. I was already anxious talking about him because I was put down a lot by my family so it punched me in the gut when one of my "cool" friends called my OC Kitsune Samurai Sans OC cringe. There were times they also called my OC's mary sues, poorly designed, and at some points they left me out of role-plays entirely for probably the same reasons. It crushed me as a kid and even today I can't make a story let alone write an essay without the nagging feeling in my head telling me that what I'm making is "cringe" or "poorly made". (as you all probably can tell from my CONSTANT self critique on my posts).
Storytelling is a beautiful and versatile art that requires a piece of ourselves every time we set a pen to paper. When someone or even yourself insults a story you made, it kills not only the creativity but the part of yourself that you tucked away in that story. What I have learned, through the hard way, is that no story is a bad story, no art piece is "cringe". Sure there are standards but that's for you to decide and not some dumb-ass who doesn't know an ounce of how much heart you put into your art.
Cringe is just slang boring people made because they were jealous of others who simply created whatever they wanted however they wanted. People fear a world without rules because they don't feel like they have control, don't let them have it over you.
Your story is not cringe, you are simply playing with the logic of magic in Wings of Fire and made a beautiful and neat dragon from that scaffolding. I like how you twisted the take on the usual "dreary depressed all powerful magic dragon" and am curious to see how Dusk would hand magic "properly" so to speak. Also I'd like to know just how important those earrings may come to be in the future. I adore Dusk and I hope to see how you bend the laws of animus magic, as well as, more of your creations!

when things get hard, will you still be by my side? Law x Reader Comfort
- most people know this, but if you're new here, law is my comfort character, so I had him in mind when writing this.
before you proceed, please know that :
I've been in a difficult position in life for the past few months, so please don't expect any greatness from me. I'm not really in a position where I can sprinkle some fluff here and there like I was able to in the past, but I tried my best to make the end as fluffy as possible. this is just a simple piece of scrabble with myself as 'inspiration'. I needed a way to express how I felt for the past few months, so I decided to turn it into a piece as I realised that I haven't been posting much lately. hopefully someone can get some enjoyment out of this. :))
status : not proofread
- tw. mentions of depression, self struggles, reader in denial of anyone loving her, self hatred, bunch of comfort, fluff in the end if you squint. law and reader aren't together yet, but they have been playing cat and mouse for a while.
It's like every time I step through these doors, they all look at me with pity in their eyes, like they're looking at a poor stray cat on the street that no one wants.
Aside from all those times, it's also like they're judging me for slacking off and moping around in my room. The captain's probably thinking of ways to get rid of me without telling me that I'm useless. That's how he is. He starts off as this cold and unapproachable person, but once you've entered his life, he'll always find a way to take care of you. The once frequent knocks on my door proves that right. He'd come and check on me, asking if I had eaten anything or have I been feeling ill, but his concerns were always answered with a smile of mine and reassuring him that I'm fine. With that going on for a while, he probably figured out that I was lying to his face, or maybe him simply don't have the energy to pretend that he cares about me anymore. That's how everyone on this submarine behaved lately.
I looked around my room, all dark and gloomy. Yesterday, I found the energy to clean it up a little as it was starting to get out of hand. If there's one thing that gets on Law's nerve the most, it's clean and dirty laundry mixed up on the floor. Even at my lowest, my mind always drift to him. Because even if I knew from the beginning that he won't return my feelings, my feelings for him are just growing stronger and stronger every second. With the state that I'm in now, there's no way that I would be able to be around his presence, let alone look him in the eye and start a conversation with him. Maybe that's why I did everything in my power to avoid leaving my room. The fear of rejection, even after years of being an outcast, still makes me feel like I'm about to suffocate. It's almost like as long as I don't leave this room, as long as I don't see Law, I can keep staying here, even if none of my crewmates like me anymore.
When I look out the window, I can see the moon, a gift for all minks, hanging high up the sky. My thoughts naturally drifted to Bepo, the absolute sweetheart of this crew. And when I think about it, I can't help but feel bad about myself even more. How did I manage to get the sweetest creature in this world to hate me as well?
'Damn y/n... just how pathetic can you be...'
Voices in my head echoed louder and louder every passing day. Voices that tell me I'm useless and unwanted here. Voices that tell me there'll never be a place for me where I can call a home. Voices that tell me I'll never be loved, that I don't deserve to be loved.
When Law came to check up on me in the past, that split second of seeing him and hearing his voice made the voices go away. But when he leaves, the voices come back instantly. I've told myself that relying on other people is a bad decision, simply because I'll always be left alone in the end. But somehow, trying to separate myself from Law is completely different from what I had ever experienced. My heart screams for me to just call out to him for help, but my brain knows that everything will just turn out the same eventually. I'll just be more of a burden to Law than I already am.
.
"y/n-ya, are you in there?"
A knock and the soft but deep voice that I had fallen in love with startled me.
Why is he here? Why is he here at night? Why is he here when he should be in his study at this hour? A million questions ran through my mind as I could only come up with one conclusion.
He wants me off his submarine.
The voice on the other side of the door called out to me again as I finally stood up, slowly making my way over to the door. A sigh of relief escaped from him as he saw me open my door. However, at this state of mine, I misunderstood it as a sigh of annoyance. He's annoyed that it took me so long to open the door.
"I wanna talk to you. Can I come in?" he wasted no time, cutting straight to the point. I nodded, moving aside as he made his way into my room. I closed the door behind me while he looked around my room, clearly surprised that it has become a lot cleaner than before. "I see you put your laundry away and cleaned up a little." Law started, sitting on my bed while taking off his hat.
Thousands of thoughts in my head are giving me a headache. I wanted to make him believe that I'm doing okay. But before I realised, my words rang around the whole room.
"Yeah... can never be too sure about when I'd have to leave now, can I? It's best to have everything organised so it'd be easier to find what I need to take with me."
Well, that certainly struck a nerve. Law eyebrows creased at my words, only confusion can be found on his face.
"Leaving? y/n-ya, what are you talking about? Who said you're leaving?" the walls around my heart are closing up on it again, preventing me from having a calm and productive conversation with him. Maybe if I were able to believe that someone would actually love me for me, I'd have the courage to seek help from him.
"Well... that's what you all wanted, right? I'm just someone that brings nothing to the table. The others are tired of me, and you're disappointed at me. That's why you came here, right?" I couldn't even look him in the eye as I was afraid that all I'll see in his eyes is disgust.
"What the hell? Wha- who told you that? I came here to talk to you about the list of things we need to buy on the next island, which is about two days away. You also weren't there during dinner, so I wanted to come check on you to see if you're feeling unwell. Actually, that's not the point. How long have you been feeling this way? Why didn't you come to me?" Law stood up and slowly made his way towards me, switching into doctor and caring captain mode.
I sighed, looking at anywhere but him. "It's fine, you don't have to pretend that you care. All my life, I've been abandoned and left behind. I can tell when someone's kindness is coming from pity or not. You don't need to look for an excuse to get rid of me, nor do you need to sugarcoat anything, I get it. I never thought I'd have a place where I can call a home anyways..."
Law put his hands on my shoulders as if he's trying to get me to look at him. "y/n-ya, stop. What are you talking about? This is your home, why wouldn't it be? We're not going to abandon you. I'm not going to abandon you. No one is pitying you. In fact, we've all been worried about you, for weeks. You could've at least come to me. Do you not trust me enough?" his question at the end made my heart clench. The one person that I wanted to impress and protect the most, is disappointed at me. At this point, my eyes were stinging from tears threatening to escape. He wanted to convince me that he cares about me, that everyone does. But how can I trust him? My heart does, but all the trauma from the past is preventing me from thinking logically, preventing me from letting him in. Ironic that I can't trust when the person who stole my heart said that he cares about me is the truth. In any dream, I'd die to hear those words. So why can't I find it in me to believe him?
"You know as well as I do that no one will ever truly love me. Just look at this pathetic mess in front of you. Why would someone love... this? Why would you love this?" his grip on my shoulders tightened, but he didn't say anything. Seeing as he wanted me to continue, I did. "At this point, it'd be better if I leave on my own and spare you some trouble. It's be one less mouth for you to feed anyways." I let out a sour chuckle at the end, laughing at how pathetic I sound. One of his hands reached under my chin and lifted my face up, forcing me to look at him. The look in his eyes held no hint of disgust. Instead, all that can be found was rage and hurt.
"Is this seriously what you think of me? You think that I was looking at you as just 'a mouth to feed'? You really see me as someone who'd lie to your face and say that I care about you? You out of all people should know that I despise shit like that. What can I do to make you believe that you deserve to be loved? What can I do to make you believe that you're loved?" the desperation in Law's voice almost made me believe that he's telling the truth. I escaped from his gaze once again, looking down. His eyes softened as he continued,
"What can I do to make you believe that I love you...? Please, tell me."
My eyes widened at his words. The genuineness in his voice created a huge crack on the thick walls around my heart. This is the first time I've ever heard Law beg for something.
Just a little more, and my walls will break down.
"...do you really?" I found the courage to look him in the eyes with my teary ones. Law pulled me into a tight embrace, one arm around my waist while the other one gently caressed my hair. That vulnerable look and weak voice of mine broke his heart into pieces. He tightened his hold on me as he whispered in my ear,
"I do, I truly love you. Those months of playing cat and mouse with you is just me not having the guts to tell you how I really feel. You have no idea how much it hurts me to see the light in your eyes fade away day by day. You distancing yourself from us and not showing up as frequently as before broke my heart. I wanted to give you some space because I thought that eventually, you'd trust me enough to come to me and tell me about your struggles. I want to be there for you. You're not alone in this y/n-ya, you never were. Let me be there for you, let me in, please."
I returned the hug as I relaxed in his embrace, finally accepting that the man in front of me, who I love so much, is being genuine. I sobbed as he continued to whisper sweet nothings in my ear, reassuring me that he's not going anywhere.
"You're staying in my room from now on. And if anything bothers you, you'll tell me about it immediately, okay?" Law pulled away slightly in order for him to look me in the eyes, signalling that he's serious about this. I nodded, unable to find the energy to muster up a response. With that, Law brought me back into his warm embrace, but not before pressing a sweet kiss to my forehead.
And if the past creeps up on me again, I will have no fear this time. With the sound of your heartbeat, this unique and special lullaby just for me, will protect me from all the voices in my head.

박종성〃Jay Park — #1
One good point about Jay is that he's never late.
He has consistently been on time for your dates, and he also has a tendency to expect it of you, complaining a lot when you're not on time. You might be upset about it, but he counters, ”We can't lose any time that we could be together,” simply because this argument is super effective.
Not that you disagree with what he says, both of you loves to be around each other, but on this day that Jay was supposed to meet you at your house, he broke his word by making you wait for him for nearly 4 hours. He totally forgot about your plans and it was far too late for his own good.
It was nearly midnight when he came over, and when his feet touched your bedroom's floor, he immediately began apologizing.
“I'm sorry, darling. For real, I'm so sorry...”
You moved slowly while Jay spoke because you had an ambitious plan. Not out of revenge, but you wanted to surprise him some way.
Seeing the water gun in your hand, the boy went silent.
“Hey... What's this...?” he asked, already praying for his life on his mind.
“It's okay, honey. I will not do dirt.” you came to appoint the gun to him and he threw up his hands in despair, which was actually funny.
“Hey, no, hold on, let's talk, let's find another way to fix this-”
Too late, the shot touched his face which would now be wet. But the fun wouldn't continue much longer since Jay attacked you and made you put down your gun. Which triggered a war, leaving you in your bed unable to move your arms since Jay was holding them and keeping you pinned beneath him.
“I can't believe you just did it”
And he dramatized it for the entire week.

양정원〃Yang Jungwon — #2
Mr. Yang never gets mad.
No matter what you do, he doesn't get mad at you. He is annoyed at best but mad? You never saw wonnie mad before.
You questioned him out of curiosity, and he responded, “There's no way I'm getting mad with you, jagiya. What reason do I have?” The boy acts as though nothing actually upsets him, to put it bluntly.
On that day, you made the decision that Jungwon would have no peace.
After many failed efforts to take a reaction out of him, you decided to take it futher, taking the water gun in your hands. It was nine o'clock at night and wonnie had already shower and was going through his precious moment of skincare in front of the mirror, that would be interrupted soon.
He opened his mouth in surprise when you approached him and saw the gun in your hand.
“No way you are doing it.” he begs.
He didn't even had time to process the information and the jet of water was on his face. Wonnie closed his eyes feeling his soul letting his body.
“Say meow now!” you spoke loudly before shooting wonnie eloquently.
Unfortunately for you, the strong cat managed to get close enough to steal the gun from your hands. He peered emotionless at you, his hair now wet and unkempt.
“What's the point of it?” he asked, surprisingly too calm to be true.
“... It is a evidence of my love for you.” you retorted.
He grinned and pointed the gun at you after becoming unsatisfied with your response.
“Oh yeah?” He threatened.
The closer Jungwon came to you, the more you moved away, trying to escape from him.
“Yes...” you replied.
He then came, ”Let me show you how to play, jagi,” with that rebellious look on his face.
And that was the end of you.

What the actual fuck are they thinking-
Tumblr media
Okay, the caption might seem overblown but... this is not good.
The main LO subreddit has been closed for weeks now. It closed due to the API protests but considering the options in the community poll were to either "stay open indefinitely" or "stay closed until the decision is reversed", there's a tinfoil hat theory going around that the single mod that overlooks that place saw the API protests as an "easy way out", especially considering how hands-off those mods are. By the time the main sub decided to take part in the protests (after the height of the protests were over) it had already been stated by u/spez that they were not going to reverse the decision. Essentially, the LO subreddit is done.
Do you know what's been happening since it closed? Activity in ULO has been skyrocketing, but we've also been seeing a lot more discourse from people who have been forced to stomach the ULO content after having their main community shuttered.
Listen, I've got a lot of issues with the main sub and the things they've done over the past year. There are definitely some really shitty folks in there who have ruined things for those who are just casual readers by just being way too protective of this comic. But that doesn't mean the main sub shouldn't exist. The main sub, as dead as it was by the time it closed, was still an option for people who didn't want blind praise or relentless criticism/shitposting. Though there were people who tried to gatekeep the shit out of the main sub (attempting to make it a "positive vibes only" space) the main sub was never explicitly designed for only praise, and by the time it closed, it was seeing a lot more balance between praise and criticism (to no one's surprise, because criticism has become a lot more mainstream in the LO fandom, simply due to the comic's undeniably tanking). All that said, it made for a nice middle ground. Even I enjoyed going in there and reading people's takes on new episodes every week, whether or not I agreed with them. ULO was not designed to be the only route for discussion concerning LO, it's very specifically run for one specific purpose and that purpose will not line up with those who are now without a space.
Without the main sub, there are people with nowhere to go. Some people casually grin and bear it through ULO, others have gone to /r/LowSodiumLoreOlympus, but considering how dead that sub is also, it's clear the popular opinion is swaying more towards criticism. I can't imagine what it's like to be a community refugee right now.
So what does that leave for those who don't want to use ULO? The Facebook groups, and the Discord. The Facebook groups are probably the most accessible communities - not everyone uses reddit, not everyone knows how to use Discord, but everyone uses Facebook.
So the fact that the Facebook groups aren't going on a small break, but are going on their own 4 month hiatus?
Not only does this further reduce the options for fandom interaction, but this is terrible for the comic. Hiatuses like this can kill long-term retention, and fandom communities are often the best way to keep that retention on some form of life support.
Think of it this way - if I didn't have the ULO community, I probably would have dropped off LO ages ago, cut my losses, moved on. But it's the fact that I have a community to keep in touch with and have fun with that keeps me on this series. This goes the other way as well, into the casual and praise communities - while I'm sure many will still eagerly return in October, for those who are more casual readers, Lore Olympus will essentially be out of sight, out of mind. And that is NOT something you want to happen to a comic that is already losing traction.
I genuinely do not know what Rachel is thinking closing these groups. And yes, I am pointing to Rachel on this decision because she literally runs the official LO Facebook groups. LO going on a mid-season hiatus over the summer when HALF OF HER DEMOGRAPHIC IS HOME FROM SCHOOL is already such a huge risk that will likely kill her numbers; but to go and cut off her official groups from being able to stay connected and talking about the comic during the hiatus, on a platform OCCUPIED BY THE OTHER HALF OF HER DEMOGRAPHIC, LITERALLY ADULT WOMEN ?? What is that supposed to achieve? If she wants to give her mods a break, sure, okay, do that for a few weeks, but four months? Is she so allergic to fans being able to theorize or "figure her out" (because god knows Rachel doesn't like being predictable) or, god forbid, is she worried about giving them too much "freedom" to reflect and discuss the comic during this time without the weekly dopamine distraction hits that they actually stop and realize how shitty the comic is right now?
Tumblr media
All I can say is, as much as we're theorizing that LO is going to be getting a 4th season, I really do hope this midseason hiatus is its last. Whatever life this comic has left is being choked out by Rachel and Webtoons' own hands.
And when it does go out, it better go out with a bang. That's the least it can do for itself and its community at this point.

As Hunter puts the work in to recover and heal, looking back on Belos's 'kindness' in offering him a staff, taking him in, and providing the opportunity to be special as the Golden Guard...will be confusing and will involve seemingly conflicting emotions.
Having that treatment from his 'uncle' was the only reference point of feeling loved, while experiencing terror deeper down. This lasted for years before he met Luz and co.
He has overall spent less time in the new framework of healthy found family, than the years in the Castle.
I was looking at scenes from a couple of movies - the Black Widow movie and also Blade Runner 2049 (spoilers for both movies ahead, obviously) - as psychology references to see how two other fictional characters recalled their confusing but significant memories.
These examples carry some big concepts, one of which is that we "recall with our feelings". Not with pure impersonal logic that neatly trims away false info and discards it. If only it were that easy to dust our hands clean this way when healing from trauma.
In Black Widow, Yelena is the character who wears her heart on her sleeve the most, like Hunter naturally does. When confronted with the revelation that her happy childhood was staged, naturally Yelena feels betrayed:
Tumblr media
(the GIF file for above was too big so lol I just screencapped a still frame from it)
But she quickly makes a conscious decision on how she wants to view those good memories, when hearing her sister Natasha saying it was all fake. This is perhaps her most important line in the movie:
Tumblr media
She still chose to believe it had all been real. She is actively claiming the meaning that her good childhood had provided for her. Choosing what kind of lens she'd like to view those memories through. Defending that good meaning. Because her life fell apart after that good childhood came to an end. She could choose to say it was all fake, if she wanted to see it as fake.
She confronts Melina, her (staged) maternal figure who obviously isn't her biological or even a proper adoptive mother, and says: "You are my mother. You were my real mother, the closest thing I ever had to one."
When it comes to Hunter, he wouldn't find it as straightforward to acknowledge that the times when Belos was nice to him "felt real". Would he ever want to view the late Emperor as his uncle? Not via any conscious decision, I'm sure...since he's the opposite of Yelena here. Hunter's safe haven was after he escaped the Emperor's Coven, but Yelena's haven was at the start of her life, which she wished had been permanent.
Those months of summer when Hunter spent time away from Belos in the human realm must've been so special for him. But when faced with inevitable confusing flashbacks especially after Belos's death (that involve the subconscious, not conscious, part of his mind), he's still going to feel that the Emperor was a close family member whom he had an attachment with. Belos was the closest thing he ever had to family for so long.
In the Black Widow example, Yelena felt that Melina was her mother, from an early age. Around two decades later in her young adulthood, she still feels that this is the case, and consciously still wishes for that. She was lucky to be able to reconcile with Melina in the movie.
Hunter isn't as lucky. While he recovers, I don't think he can simply dismiss what it felt like to be told that he is part of a family (even if it was a lie) in such fragile formative years:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As an example, if I had first been told at age 5 by a parent that they promised to protect me, only to find out a decade later that they actually wouldn't have ever cared if I died...I would be hella confused.
Quoting a guest lecturer from my first year of therapist training, the part of our brains responsible for reasoning and logic - the prefrontal cortex - does not begin to seriously mature until our late teen years. Which is why early childhood memories can't just be viewed by our adult selves and easily trimmed away and viewed in black-or-white as truth-or-lie. Those early years are sensitive for us all, in how they shape us later in life. That inner child is still in each of us.
Blade Runner 2049's protagonist, K, has an arc that takes a different direction: he had actual false memories implanted that were not even his own, but the theme that is consistent for this post is those memories still felt real to him, and thus affected him emotionally. He felt unfulfilled and wanted something new, to feel like he had a soul, which led him on this risky quest. Sadly, he easily believed in a lie because it matched the truth he wished for. Thus, even false memories could feel real to him because he was desperate for meaning in life.
This movie has a cyberpunk dystopian setting, so it's of course more bleak. K was made to believe so strongly in those memories because he was ultimately used as just smokescreen, to keep the real person (who had those memories) well-hidden. Below, he speaks to the memory maker who formed his false memories. She is a very skilled deceiver, and successfully engineers experiences that didn't actually happen because she inserts fragments of truth here and there.
And she makes some good points about how she succeeds at implanting false memories:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Especially the last two lines, "We recall with our feelings. Anything real should be a mess."
Linking back to Hunter, it would be a tough process to learn how to make peace with his childhood with Belos. Because anything that felt real would be a mess.
And K has a similar line as Yelena did:
Tumblr media
The running theme I spotted is the realness of confusing memories for these characters, because their inner conflicts involve questioning themselves: whether or not they were just imagining the good feelings they felt.
While we never got confirmation whether Belos used false memories or not, I'm inclined to think he didn't...in order to work more subtly and over a long period of time on Hunter as his latest grimwalker project. The deadlier lies are the ones with many bits of truth scattered throughout their intricate webs, like what the memory maker in Blade Runner 2049 could pull off.
Belos's treatment would've felt kind to Hunter at the time. As they say, how we feel about any experience we have is "what we make of it". Or how we choose to view the experience.
Tumblr media
I think Hunter needed to believe his uncle really was kind, while maintaining his own image, in order to keep going and survive.
This tragically meant he had to believe he wasn't doing enough.
It is always scarier for an abused child to see that their parent in fact isn't loving after all/isn't a good person, compared to imposing shame upon themselves and believing they aren't good enough.
Of course, all this would've changed by the time we get to here and beyond:
Tumblr media
Memory is subjective and our minds are so powerful that they find evidence to seemingly confirm any kind of beliefs that we form.
All three characters in this post were cogs in a machine, reduced to being pawns in a scheme...until they later had the space to decide things for themselves.
As seen in Hunter's efforts in his Golden Guard days to be good enough in the role, Yelena taking a stand to preserve the purity of an untainted childhood (even if it was staged and not organic), K defying authority to cross a line in his duties and get answers about who he was....this is how much we as humans will clamber to grasp onto a sense of personhood, to give our lives meaning and survive the best we can.
Yelena wanted to preserve the memories of her childhood as good, as a haven or a warm fuzzy bubble to look back on, because it got torn apart before she reunited with her family many years later.
Obviously Hunter can't do exactly the same i.e. preserving the entirety of his time in the Castle as "good", since he has now been able to see that Belos was a constant threat upon his life. However, he could still look back on smaller pockets of his childhood as pleasant, by isolating those specific memories.
We have two examples in canon: the way he grins when remembering the experience of being left on top of the mountain and climbing back down. And him saying that "weekends were nice" since he tasted partial freedom by being outdoors going on missions.
In fact, he would likely start out wanting to erase his childhood, view it as entirely bad and terrible to revisit, and try to force himself to forget its significance and start afresh. But this would only worsen the unpleasant emotions associated with this time of his life that he'd rather wish had not existed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mental health recovery is counter-intuitive: avoiding or denying emotions tend to make them grow bigger and scarier, while letting them feel seen and heard can help them along to shrink and positively transform over time. Hunter's therapist would have to provide him with psychoeducation on this so that he doesn't feel like he's grieving wrongly. It would bring him more peace if he can acknowledge both of these seemingly conflicting truths:
Factually, Belos did lie to him and betray him.
(Here's the important part) Emotionally, if the 'kindness/love' offered by Belos felt real at the time, received by Hunter's very legit need for attachment and meaning, then yes, it was real.
Both these points can coexist. Belos's love was untrue in the factual sense (we in the audience can easily see this), yet true in the emotional sense for a young child like who Hunter was. Which is what makes it hard.
Someone would ask Hunter, "Do you think he loved you?" and the answer isn't simple. Maybe it'd be something like "He didn't, but I felt like he really did." And the second half of that sentence ("but I felt like he really did") honestly doesn't need to be changed or removed, and the grief in those words should be honoured. Belos only cared about meeting Hunter's emotional needs as a means to an end, and as strange as it sounds to say this...it did help Hunter survive long enough, however mistreated he was. Because he still clung on to meaning and a purpose in his life.
The love wasn't there in the technical sense: instead it was a twisted version of Philip's love for Caleb, not any love extended towards Hunter. But this love still felt mostly real to Hunter before he fled the coven.
And I bet that even if it was for a split-second, Belos's gaslighting of "Why are you hurting me? I only wanted to help you" felt real and true to the poor kid here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
before Hunter expressed that he knew who Belos truly was as a person: a liar.
