Imagine: The kids in Japanese School uniforms, the teachers and adult wizards wearing kimonos, Hogwarts is a ridiculously giant array of traditional Japanese buildings and castles, meticulously maintained Japanese gardens tended to by Hagrid and Prof. Sprout, classrooms and the great hall with knee high tables and everybody sitting or crouching on the tatami mats, Samurai inspired Quidditch armor, Death Eaters wearing Japanese masks, straw hats instead of wizard hats, the Katana of Godric Griffindor, The hot springs of Hogwarts, writing not with quills but with brushes, the bamboo maze of the Triwizard tournament, moving Japanese wall paintings, children playing with chopsticks as if they’re wands, cherry blossoms in the courtyard in spring, the bright red and yellow forbidden forest in fall… do you see it?

I feel like both of them look out for each other in different ways.

Touya, who grew up with money, who had to sit through his dad’s lectures about money, who has spent days worth of time listening to Enji’s financial advisor drone on and on about the accounts (he’s the oldest after all, the one that would inherit it all or at least the one that would be expected to hold it in trust until Shouto is old enough) would hear Harry wonder why Hagrid had his bank key and immediately flip his shit. Just “Some bastard you just met has full access to your money? Absolutely not. Demand to speak to the person in charge of you account right the fuck now and make them tell you what fuck was stupid enough to let this happen.”

Harry on the other hand, who had to learn to treat injuries with the bare minimum and suddenly had a whole world of healthcare opened up to him that he can hardly imagine, spends hours at the apothecary going over each and every salve and potion until he knows what can be used on muggles and what can’t and even a list of closely related allergens that occur non magically so he can put together a kit for them with detailed instructions for any possible injury.

i think one of the weirdest things i see from Internet Commentary Folk is the assumption that anyone who consumes non-intellectual YouTube content or whatever has to be a child. (like, a Minor, not just a young adult.)

remembering a few years back when there was a slight Tiff Around The Internet about the Game Grumps selling fursona body pillows of themselves because their fanbase had to be children, of course, it had to be minors, how gross it is for two adult men to sell body pillows of themselves to kids.

...which is obviously very gross, except the GG demographic is not and has never been Minors, i'm p sure. young people who are adults, sure, and i'm certain many minors watch, but they never geared their content towards 13 year olds.

"Lilies bloom first in the garden where ghosts appear often" - poem, Gôto Takashi.

Each night, there is this weird boy wearing an Oni mask, wandering in the scarlet bloomed fields like a drifting spirit. I won't be able to tell if he's an actual purifier or a demon himself. Not very tchaty, this boy is.

Inktober Day 1: "Gargoyle" 🎐

I'm back from the deads to try, this year again, to accomplish the Inktober challenge for the second time in a row...!

"Wait - why is the prompt of today "Gargoyle"? That's not Snapetober!" Arg, that is not indeed, and that's pretty unfortunate.

For that there is two reasons, so let me explain. Sadly, the Snapetober prompts arrived a bit late and until yesterday I was so convinced that there will be no Snapetober 2022 that I had already sketched my first entries...based on the official Inktober prompt list. The second reason is that for the time being, I don't feel like drawing angsty things, so the official list fits to my current mood better. For the time being, I'll stick to those prompts, so sorry if some of you are disappointed.

To be honest, I'm pretty anxious to post my new drawings as I basically want to try something I haven't posted a lot on my blog before: cute, chibi like Snapes. I really hope you will like this new approach, cause despite I drew some like those in the past I decided to not post them here cause I was affraid the style would rebuke some of you.

For this first entry, I was inspired by Japanese traditionnal costumes and Sev wears a "Oni" (litteraly "Demon") mask and horns. I thought it would fit the prompt "Gargoyle" just fine, as the mask has a pretty intimidating look. On his kimono you may reconize a pattern of "red spider lilies", a lily representing separation and grief. Lately, those have bloomed in Japanese fields and I've had the chance to be able to observe them myself.

I moved from France and now I've been living in Japan for one month, in order to continue my language studies abroad. That's a wonderful experience that I've been aiming for since childhood, and there is great chances my current environnement will influence the tone and imagery of my drawings. I truly hope you'll be ok with it. Anyway.

I'll do my best for this challenge this year again, hoping that I'll be able to go as far as possible! I don't have the best of equipement of course so please be forgiving with the "scan" quality. I'm honestly not sure that I'll be able to do 31 drawings, what sounds completely insane to me as the 16 drawings of last year already were my biggest drawing achievements.

Please, don't hesitate to give me your thoughts! 🍂

I apologize for the long time where I didn't post anything, I was pretty busy before moving to Japan, but I've missed exchanges with the community a lot.
