I'm sorry did I see you say you did your masters' thesis on character design? could you tell us more? 👀

YES ABSOLUTELY thank you So much for giving me an excuse to go off about this oh my god--SO!! 👀

my masters was on animation, specifically concept art & pitch bibles for animation (i'm not sure how well known those are but basically it's a document/book you bring into a pitch, contains all the basics of the show!) so it focused around making an animated show concept, a pitch bible & a visual development portfolio (just a fancier way to display more concept art) & the thesis (was supposed to) document the thought process behind making it

it was classed as a science masters, which meant the project had to be based around a hypothesis, so things got Muddled (hypothesis was on the rarity of adult horror in western animation) but the core of it was: i wanted to make a pitch for a fake tv show and write about character design & analyse art styles. so i did! there was stuff on stereotypical design traits & what they imply, environmental storytelling, how to show story through character design, how genres affect art styles & why, stylising animals for animation, sticking to historic research vs visual shorthands/readability, off the top of my head.

i will spare you hours of ramblings BUT i will not spare you the chance to show off some of the stuff i made >:3c the show concept was an 1800s (vaguely) southern gothic horror vibe, i went for anthros bc i had never tried them before and wanted something more challnging than humans. story concept was based around ergotism, mass hysteria, unreality, weird creatures in the fields that may or may not be real, power struggles, etc. etc.

the pitch bible i am still so Unbelievably proud of--i made everything basically from scratch myself, drew so many things i'd never even Attempted before, and although i'd change a few things now (mainly the writing/formatting) i'm still proud of it! i think the visitants pag is the coolest thing i've ever made still >:3c here's a handful of pages, and i'll put a few of the visual development portfolio ones under the cut & the links to the full things if anybody is interested!!

i never did get to finish the visdev portfolio bc of a bunch of health issues + a surgery, which is a shame. i do still really like this project tho and i'm immensely proud of getting the degree even through the Fuckery 😌

i'd love to come back to it someday, there's a lot of things i'd like to change now i'm not under a time limit (better historical reference, for one) but it's the first uni project i've still felt passionate about after submitting it, so thank you for giving me the chance to talk about it :D

It isn’t difficult to imagine Brucie, big and strong as he is, chopping wood and dragging tree trunks around like it’s nothing. Imagining the way his muscles would flex, and how he’d look with sweat running down his temple…

Okay, that part is still easy to imagine, but difficult to think about! It’s hard not to get flustered around Brucie when he’s always so close to you, and thinking about things like that only makes it worse…

The point is, it isn’t difficult to imagine Brucie doing heavy lifting and building sturdy furniture like this. That makes sense in your brain.

But what is more difficult to wrap your mind around is the teacup. And the wooden utensils. He’d made those too— and they were so small, so delicate, and yet so detailed. The teacup was thin and painted with small flowers. The ends of the utensils’ handles were carved in the shapes of different animals. Moose, deer, bears. It was hard for you to imagine this giant man with his giant hands making anything that required such precision.

Brucie walks over and sets a plate of steaming hot food in front of you. It smells fucking delicious. He smiles fondly at the way your stomach rumbles and you dig in.

You finish eating before Brucie does. You notice the plate you’ve practically cleared matches the teacup. It brings your mind back to his craftsmanship. Your eyes wander to his hands.

Brucie’s hands are massive. Broad, thick, and calloused, with little sharp scars crisscrossing his fingers. There is the evidence of his carving work, but it still amazes you to think of those giant hands as being capable of such delicate work.

“Something on your mind, my lil pumpkin pie?”

You cringe at the nickname, looking up to meet his steady gaze.

You gesture to the plate. “Did you… really make all this?”

Brucie blinks and tilts his head. “…Yes? You were sitting in here while I cooked.”

“N-no! I meant the plates and forks and everything…”

You splutter, “What? I never said that! I think they’re pretty. It’s just…”

Your eyes flick to his hands. “It’s just, y’know, kind of hard to imagine you making them. Your hands are so big, and the stuff you make is so delicate.”

Brucie’s expression lights up again, just as quickly as it had fallen. “You think my hands are big? And talented?”

You just stare, caught off guard by his sudden changes in mood and the suggestiveness of his last sentence. Or maybe you were just being pervy, surely Brucie didn’t mean…

My werewolf proud never really let's me admit another type of kin. I just made an entry but couldn't bring myself up to post it :')

I think I need to read a little more into the species before I jump too quick into conclusions...

Don't get me wrong, I was, am, and will forever be a werewolf. I'm so extreme certain about it, that it's more to me than just a kintype, cuz my other type of "kins" are not nearly as intense. Being a werewolf IS who I am... The only thing that's unstable about that is the furcolor.

...But why is it so hard to admit that I actually could be a different type of caninekin. Cuz this one starts to make a lot of sense :')

I'm talking about Dingos. I knew of their existence, but completely forgot them, until insta just showed me a video. So I read a little into them and quite a few things add up to me:

Something that bothered me, when I said that I could be a shiba inu was that shibas are too small & the curled tail... The Dingo doesn't have that and still looks pretty similar to the shiba, the golden furcolor also almost adds up well, together with the white dot-eyebrows and the white chest and paws... they can live in every habitat and are mostly common in australia (as a kid I was obsessed with australia and had books over it and really wanted to move there. when I got older it turned into the rural areas of asia) They don't really bark much but rather communicate with a different variety of howls that almost sound exactly like wolf howls and even tho they can be kept as a pet, and were pets many many years ago, they'll never be completely tame and are unpredictable.

My main issue so far: the fur is too short (maybe my brain just confuses it with my wolf fur tho). But all the other stuff is weirdly accurate. They also live in tropical habitats with humid air and lots of rain... something I always was searching for a connection. well... there it is ':D

*sigh* yea... so... idk... I don't want to jump into conclusions yet but... since my blog is about all the otherkin stuff I felt like I should talk about it.

Being a werewolf with a canine-kintype is weird af and never feels right to me, I already regret this post while writing. like, the moment something adds up my wolfside says "nope that ain't it" and so I throw that thought instantly away

okay I chattered enough around. And again, all the text is just the mess in my head. not saying yes or no to anything. just that it would technically make sense. TwT

I still really like this old piece of Jamie, which i did a retake on relativly recently as you may recall XD

Its when i first really started to play around with illustration and composition, and highlighted more of a direction my art would take, if that makes sense?

6. Favorite and least favorite angles/perspectives to draw?

Those like... partial backviews where you only get an edge of a persons face... not like. see ive managed to do okay/work on side profiles which are ve hard for me, but this is when its even Less of the person shown, its a really hard angle to draw!!!

otherwise nah, i use 3d models as a base for my sketches, which helps a lot with perspective!

i prefer to draw things at a 3/4 view tho, i find it easiest...? to define facial features that way!!

First of all:

Ur Ink u did for Inktober was really pretty. Look forward to any more Inktober pictures u can do. Only if u can though.

2nd of all: That Halloween Special AU art of Paps and Sans was so cute! Small baby-ish (demon; I think) Paps and teethwear (demon; I think) and/or braces Sans are so cute. I like their aesthetic too.

3rd of all: I was wondering how u been doing on any of ur projects

(like, Dead Ringer, which, I am very excited for the next episode of, and to see some of Sans, Paps, and Frisk's story of Dead Ringer. Will hopefully say something about Ep3 like I have done about the other previous episodes in some form. Or also like Bonnytale; which I read ur update(s) about on it's blog. And I am also very excited about. Or Inkuabtor. Ok, I probably spelled that wrong. Which, I am curious about. And the TikToks of it have been fun. I do hope u share it's story besides TikTok though. I will use TikTok sometimes. Like to see stuff and/or creators' stuff I like; like you. But I do admit; I don't use TikTok that much).

I know u have been jumping around them (and/or maybe even others), and/or probably are just busy and stuff. And I can wait for stuff. I know things can take awhile, and people have lives.

I am just curious.

4th of all: It looks like Hazbin Hotel is coming out in January, and if u are still doing Underhell, that means u will be getting more for that AU/series soon. Which is super cool. I love that AU, and the art and character stuff and stuff have done with it so far.

Also, since Hazbin Hotel is premiering soon, Cartoon Universe did a cool video called: "EVERYTHING You Need To Know Before Hazbin Hotel's Premiere!" , that has some cool info about Hazbin Hotel; that could be useful for ur AU/Underhell

Will say more about Underhell in another Ask, I feel like I have too much to say about it to have it in this ask, and I feel like it's better as it's own other Ask. 1. I have been doing some inktober works however I’m currently in a headspace where im overally critical with my work so i haven’t been posting them (here’s one i did but i redid it i will post the new one later today)

2. i love my little vamp au even tho i have not build on it and aren’t planning to its still fun to me and im glad u enjoyed it ^-^

3.deadringer process is still slow as i’m focused on college but i have been getting a lot of progress done in which i honestly didn’t think i would, turns out hang drawing/animating as a stress reliever helps me grandly lmao. Also i’m proud of the improvements from the first episode to this one.

As for inkubator I do plan on posting it on Tumblr. So it will only be available on Tumblr and Tiktok! I might have to make another blog for it ooo

4. I have been doing redesigns and story updates on underhell but i haven’t been able to work on it as much as im hyperfixiated on my purple babies (deadringer) and inkubator :’D I will take a look at that though!

2. When was the last time you cried? honestly, I cry a lot, I cried today. Not always because of sadness, sometimes I just burst out because I'm emotional about something. Today I cried because my boyfriend ripped his pants that he just finished sewing yesterday, he was sooo proud of it, they took him so long to make.. and just one day later he destroyed them. He was so upset and sad it made me cry.. ;___; :'D

3. Do you have kids? No, and I'm very scared of unwanted pregnancy o-o I don't feel ready for kids at all, even tho 'normal people' become parents usually at this time in their lives (mid-end 20's) I still feel like I'm too much of a mess. I'm still studying and trying to figure myself out in therapy lol.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Rarely. I have a hard time understanding sarcasm myself and I think if it's misunderstood it can hurt feelings sometimes :< not worth it

5. What sports do you play/have you played? school sports have kind of traumatized me and killed my interest in sports for a long time, recently new interest has sparked in swimming and jogging.. also I really want to do martial arts! >:°

6. What's the first thing you notice about other people? that's a hard one, I think it is how empathetic they are. How open they are, if I feel comfortable around them. How they treat me and others.. their fecial expressions.

30. Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.

Ohhh man, haha, this fic has actually been on my mind a lot today, I've explained it to three separate people lmao.

So okay, I have this old WIP from last year. It was going to be the next fic I wrote after my first Jaytim fic, I was going to write it on PURPOSE with a PLOT and PINING and EVERYTHING. The WORKS. It was my first attempt at writing Jason's voice too - he's the POV character - and instead I wrote Hurt/Comfort lmao. This fic was heavily inspired by listening to "This Losing" by the Airborne Toxic Event on repeat during February of 2023, and was going to feature a friends with benefits situationship that quickly spirals into Real Feelings that Jason is having trouble grappling with because he's afraid of scaring Tim with how intensely jealous/possessive he gets. With how much he loves him :')

Eventually I'll write it... someday...

31. What was the most difficult fic for you to write (but in the end you made it)?

Oh, Hurt/Comfort for sure. That fic was SO nerve-wracking because uhhhhh I'd never written BDSM before! Not really! Not a full on, planned out scene! And on top of that, Hurt/Comfort is experimental with it's choose-your-own-adventure style two endings, so once I was done with writing Hurt I had Comfort to write as well, lmao. I'm pleased with it, but in retrospect, imo it's pretty vanilla for what it is (this may be relative lol), and I feel like I've improved as a writer since posting it :)

(I really enjoy writing panic attacks and bad mental spaces tho, and I still really like the small moment in the bathtub when Tim is sucked into his short flashback uwu sorry Tim, but I had to do it to em)

36. How do you come up with fic titles? What's the one you're most proud of?

In the grand tradition of fic authors everywhere, most of my fic titles are song lyrics or other quotes o7 Usually they're taken from the song I'm listening to the most while writing the fic, and usually I use the lyric I feel best captures either the vibe or a specific beat in the story.

That being said, Sit, Stay, Speak is probably my favorite original title, because it's out of context spoilers for the story as well as a funny dog pun :D Jason is going to sit in Tim's apartment, stay put, and speak to Tim without realizing it; and Tim is going to speak to Jason without actually speaking. His apartment, his life does the talking for him - and Jason hears it. I am genuinely quite proud of Sit, Stay, Speak, every aspect of it was agonized over, but it was worth the effort.

December 22th

After the surgery!

Hello everyone, good news! The surgery was a success and I'm lucky to not feel any pain as for now, I got a lot of rest and even a whole room for myself too :D

Now I'll start rambling about things!

The nurses here are amazing and I even met a few cool and memorable ones.

Like a Swedish woman who's super nice and a funny guy nurse (we love guy nurses!) that helped me stand up for the first time after my back surgery. I felt very dizzy but I didn't pass out 😵‍💫

He had a fun humor tho that I easily got along with! When he gave me my name tag that I put around me wrist, I didn't realize he had switched it out as a joke until I was preparing myself for a shower.

Now it makes sense why he said "here's an extra wrist band you can keep as a suvenier"

That suvenier was my actual wrist band! I'm so neurodivergent I swear- sometimes I don't understand the jokes 😂

But anyways, since I'm 18 now and count as an adult I've sadly been alone at the hospital, it's my first time too. But that's alright honestly because there needs to be a first time to everything!

And that right now is me not depending on my parents like I've always done! Same goes for others out there going through this, you're safe and sound at the hospital even if your caretakers aren't there with you!

I feel very proud of myself for just jumping into this second surgery and get it over with, not being as afraid like I was the first time.

Of course it was still differicult for me, the whole week before I went in I felt quite depressed and upset that there was a problem with my back once more.

But than again when you've done something once, the other times won't really be that bad, especially when you know and understand what youre going to do!

I'll admit before the surgery I was very nervous and did break down a little in tears when I first got into the surgery room.

Last time my mother had been there to comfort me but now it was the doctors who comforted me, I truly appreciate it.

These people know what they're doing!

I feel asleep just fine when they gave me a mask to breathe in some funky gas!

But I think when everything went dark I hallucinated for a quick second a weird green living room with a big bookshelf and a nice chair?? 🤨

But besides from that weird experience, when I woke up again and my parents did come to visit.

What's funny is that while I my head was fully awake my eyes were apparently swollen so I couldn't see anything, but talk and listen to the conversations.

I'll be honest it kinda sucked when I wanted to see things around me and be on my phone. But my eyes did eventually open up so don't worry haha!

Right now I'm just resting, I've surprisingly slept very well! I'll also have some guests over later today, it's only 9 in the morning right now as I'm writing this!

I'll hopefully update more later on about what's happening right now in life! But yeah yeah, I'll take it easy and rest already.
