my best methods for clipping & posting to tumblr

tl;dr use clipr for downloading clips from twitch, other methods vary by mileage

Clip on Twitch & Download using Clipr

IMO, this is the best method for posting clips. Twitch clips don't always display properly on Firefox, and it also means that if the clip ceases to exist on Twitch for whatever reason, it's still uploaded to Tumblr. You can also guarantee the quality you're downloading in, which is usually 1080p unless the streamer has for some reason lowered their stream quality (happens by accident sometimes).

Downsides: 1) You have to be able to download the clip to your computer, and doesn't work on mobile. Well, it could, but it would be way more difficult and I don't know why you would do that to yourself. 2) If the moment you want to clip is longer than 60 seconds, you have to use another method. Twitch only lets you clip something that long. I bemoan this fact every day.

Screen capture on your computer

The pros of this method are that you aren't limited to 60 seconds, and if you're trying to clip something from a YouTube video, it's easier than trying to download a YouTube clip (have never been able to successfully do this myself) or downloading the entire video and then editing it down to the moment you want to clip.

The cons are that you have to make sure you're not screen capturing sensitive shit from your own computer, and you have to turn off all other audio and make sure your volume levels & video quality are at appropriate levels (aka don't have your volume super low, don't have the video on 480p if possible). If you're clipping off YouTube, you have to deal with having the channel's watermark in the corner, but otherwise it's great for when you want to just clip something from Twitch but it's longer than 60 seconds.

How to do this (on Windows):

Remember to put your computer on DND (Discord as well) and put the video on highest quality and decent volume levels. Press Windows key + G (if that's your configuration) and select "Start Recording" on the capture window. Remember to give time for the scrub bar and shit from YouTube or Twitch (or whatever) to go away, so go back a little bit before where you want the clip to start. Record until you've got what you want, then open it in whatever video editing software pleases you. You can find the recording in Captures on your computer (usually in some folder chain in Users) or by just pressing Windows key + G again, it'll let you open the recording in file location. I use Microsoft Clipchamp to edit because Windows Media Player crashes my computer and I'm not going to pay for nice editing software rn. Anyway, edit out the bits with you moving your mouse around and the video player UI and get it to whatever length you like. Save or redownload to your computer, upload to Tumblr.

Downloading off Twitter

Use twittervideodownloader or twdown. Copy the video address from the video and paste it, then download in whatever quality you'd like. Please attribute said clips, particularly if they went through the trouble of adding subtitles or you're using their translation (or just to let people know where they came from-- i.e. is this from a cc's own IG story, or is it a random fan recording them; the latter means you maybe shouldn't be reposting this video). Translation itself is often a thankless project so it's very appreciated to acknowledge translators. Also if someone else went through the trouble of clipping something, it's just nice to acknowledge them for it. Preferably include a link to the original tweet. This method is best for just needing stuff off Twitter, for IG stories that someone else already screen captured, or if the only clip you can find is on Twitter and the original vod/video is gone for whatever reason.

Extra fun tips:

If you are a frequent clipper, get in the habit of naming your files! If you're keeping them all on your computer, for organization's sake, it will save you SO much time and energy if you just have names on your files. It doesn't have to be anything crazy formal; for example, my format is just "oct 12 cellbit scared by sign tts;" date followed by a very short description.

Similar to the above, it also helps to include some amount of context to clips when you're posting them, particularly if you're not liveblogging. Sometimes people rb clips onto my dash and start freaking out about some kind of lore going on and it's like dude this clip is from two months ago, calm down. Please turn on timestamps also for the love of fuck.

You can download videos straight off Tumblr! If someone else already posted a clip you like and want to have on your computer, you can download it off the dash or off their blog and just have it, no extension or screen capture or website needed. One of the very cool things about this website!

Related, if you really want to find a clip that you know was already posted to Tumblr by someone else, use people's archives. They're also one of the actually functional parts of this website. You can filter by post type, month, and tags, which can usually get you closer to finding what you're looking for than searching will.

RoyalArchivist tends to post and reblog a lot of clips, so they're a good resource alongside myself, pix pixiecaps, and jay cellgatinbo, all of whom clip like maniacs. I also just reblog a lot of things and have a pretty extensive tagging system. RA also has a timestamp archive for QSMP with notes about lore and things-- please check that out if you're interested in helping document events or looking to find a certain moment.

MCYT Archive Project has public vods spreadsheets for QSMP as well as other MCYT projects that are incredibly extensive, so if you're looking for a moment and you remember the date, you should be able to find the vod on the sheet. You can also use the vod archives in junction with wiki articles to figure out exactly or approximately when something happened (the QSMP Miraheze wiki includes citations in their articles, which is a massive help for this kind of thing).

Finally, I am a lunatic who figured this all out through trial and error. There are probably other, somewhat more efficient methods, like I said at the start. If you know of any, please (politely) add onto the post.

Since he's older, he's much more respectful and kinder than the other men.

Of course the others are also hella respectful, but there's something to Price that just gives off the vibe that he'd immediately put your needs in front of his without a second thought.

He's a Captain, as we all know, so he's often busy and being with him means you sign up for a boyfriend/husband that has a busy lifestyle and not much free time

He'd make up for the time he couldn't spend with you, obviously. Never doubt this man

Sometimes he'd shower you in gifts, anything you want. Jewellery? You got it. Expensive clothing? He's rushing to find it. Flowers? Name which ones, he'd get you every single one that he can get his hands on

But he would always try and call you when he is free, that is a given

Sometimes they'd be quick calls, just a simple checking in on you so he knew that you were safe and happy while he was away.

However, sometimes he'd have enough time to have a call with you that would last a couple hours

You can see it from a damn mile away

Before leaving for his deployment, he's always peppering your face with kisses and hugging you tightly with his head resting on top of yours. He would stay like that for hours if duty didn't call.

Clingy asf when he comes home.

Not apposed to some sex too. I mean, the man has been away from you for far too long and he misses his love

He's the type to kiss all over your face when you get home. BIG bear hug as he picks you up and spins you around before settling on the sofa for a cuddle (you anything else your up to).

Although he's busy, he'd always find a way to message you throughout the day. Whenever he can safely get his phone out, anyway.

It's during the late evening when he tends to call you while he is away.

Especially after a tough day, all he wants to do is hear you voice, listen to you rant on about your day.

Even when you are miles away from each other, even when he can't even see your face, you are always able to calm him down.

Granted there are other ways to calm him down.

He's not above a little special time while calling you (ifykyk)

And if you're on different time zones, or you can't call. Then expect a message from him for you to send him a picture.

Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley

Unlike the others, our favourite Lieutenant is a little bit less touchy, especially if you two are in the early stages of your relationship.

Once he starts to warm up and he realises that he loves you and that it's going to be you and him taking care of one another, than that is when he gets more affectionate, more open with his feelings.

He tends to be more reserved in public, you'd be lucky if you get a proper hug from him while in the park or in a shop. The best you'd get is hand holding while out and about.

However, at home, he's much less reserved.

Arms around your waist with his chin resting on your shoulder or the top of your head (depending on your height)

This man is less likely to talk about his feelings, so be ready for that.

If he comes home from deployment clearly distressed or unhappy, give him time to talk to you about it. He wouldn't want the love of his life exposed to the horrors of war.

Though, he would come and give you a hug if you two have been together for a considerable amount of time.

When he's like this, best to just let him be. Give him the hugs he wants people!

Like the others, he will try his best to talk to you while he's deployed.

Though, expect his messages to be short 'are you okay?' texts rather than longer conversations like the others may have

Of course, however, in the later hours, he will try and have a decent conversation with you instead of quick check up messages that can barely be considered a conversation.

He'll text you for a few hours, two maybe three if he can. He'll try and hear all about your day, but he may not remember it all. He works hard after all, and the only time you two can talk is when he is exhausted and ready to sleep.

Alejandro Vargas

Alejandro <3

He's a big softie, lets be honest.

Kisses on the back of your hand and on your cheek, but long kisses planted gently on your lips when he really wants to show you how much he loves you

He'll definitely call you names in Spanish and WILL NOT tell you what they mean. This mf will only laugh it off and kiss the top of your head

For all you know, he could be calling you insults and you wouldn't know

If you end up learning Spanish and he returns from deployment to you speaking decent Spanish to you, he's super happy (kind of bummed that he can't tease you without you knowing now)

This guy will accidently almost break your bones with how hard he hugs you before leaving after being called for deployment

You have to tell him that you're going to break with a breathy laugh

He'd let go and apologise, but will cup your face and give you a small (clique) speech about how he much he loves you and how much he will miss you

Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Parra

Just like Alejandro, big ol' softie when it comes to his girlfriend/boyfriend

He's more partial to forehead kisses and innocent kisses on your neck (especially when the two of you are hugging/cuddling)

And, of course just like Alejandro, he will call you pet names in Spanish.

Unlike Alejandro, he'll be happy to tell you what they mean, because it means that you are curious to learn Spanish, even if it is a little bit.

Before he leaves for deployment, big old kiss on the lips and a hug with his arms wrapped around your ribs

He'd murmur soft 'I love you's and 'I'll miss you's

ZHONGLI never lets the romance die. you’ve been together for a while now, and he has never disappointed you in that time. candles, picking you up in his car, getting out of it and opening the door for you—dates with your boyfriend are truly the highlight of the week. due to his busy schedule at the funeral parlour, he often leaves you alone in the wee hours of the night; but he never lets you go a week without a date where it’s just the two of you. he values you greatly and it shows in the way he puts so much effort into these special nights, and he’d often ask you how you liked it afterwards (if there need be improvement, though rare).

“hello, dear. ready to go?” he’s walking you to his car, your arm around his—and you nod.

you wonder where he’s taking you this time, since it was his turn to pick this week; but you don’t really care. anywhere with zhongli is fine with you, even if it was a junkyard and you two spent the night eating chips & watching the stars.

he ends up taking you to a fancy restaurant in the city, in a high rise building—he pulls the chair back for you, and you’re speechless at the view. the city lights were bright, and you could see cars commuting multiple floors below. it overlooked many of the other buildings, but what caught your attention the most was the night sky.

“the view is so.. stunning, zhongli—how did you get a spot here?”

“anything for a beautiful view, y/n.”

you notice he’s not even looking outside, but instead staring right at you. you don’t know why, or maybe you do and you’re just shy: but something’s telling you that it’s not the city view he’s talking about.

DILUC never understood the appeal of date nights before you came along. he thought they were pointless, spending money to do something outside the comfort of your own home seemed like just that. it was only until you expressed your need for quality time that he finally gave it a try. having a busy schedule, he wasn’t sure when to take you out—but when he finally did find an opportunity, he found himself enjoying it much more than he thought he would. ever since then, he’s been picking you up from work at least once a week and taking you out to somewhere new; diluc’s never one to disappoint.

work ended late into the afternoon and you were starving. your coworkers waved you goodbye as they entered their taxis home, and you were just about to book a ride too—but a few seconds later, you see a familiar white car stop in front of you.

the window rolls down, and you see your boyfriend in the driver’s seat. what an extravagant entrance, you think, and you find yourself snickering at him.

“what’s so funny?” he asks, blank and deadpan expression worn.

“nothing. where are we going now?”

“you ask this every single time; you wouldn’t know.”

“i thought so.” you smile. it’s amazing, how someone could know so many places. at least now, you’ll have more places than just your shared apartment to make memories in.

you get in the car, and you both drive off.

CHILDE plans the most obnoxious, extravagant dates. he knows that you think it’s cringe, but he loves seeing the embarrassment on your face when he appears at your doorstep in his finest suit with the most colourful flowers, a sign in his left hand saying “will you go on a date with me?”. you could say it’s not surprising, a man of his nature doing such things—yet it’s sweet, not more sweet than cringeworthy, but still sweet nontheless. you were the lowkey, stay at home with pizza and binge movies type: after all, that was what your ex boyfriends had given you—but it’s childe, so you can always expect something more.

it’s a rainy friday night and childe hasn’t texted you. you’re sure he’s up to one of his stupid antics again, but a part of you thinks he’s probably swamped with work and can’t text you. it disappoints you a little, but it can’t be helped anyway. there’s always next week.

just then, your doorbell tune plays. you get up from bed, excited, but then you remember you ordered food an hour ago. could be the delivery guy, childe wouldn’t just appear at your door during a thunderstorm without telling you he’ll be late, right?

but you open the door and see him, drenched from head to toe, holding a bouqet of flowers (that were also wet). “i’m so sorry baby, i got caught in the rain while buying these.” he explains, using his free hand to move the hair away from his face.

it’s safe to say you two didn’t have the expected date that night. but he’s here, in your home, snuggled up next to you—he’s warm from the shower you told him to take, so you don’t really care; a break from the glam once in a while isn’t a bad thing.

XIAO is never late. he plans down to the minute, every detail in his mind—it always goes according to his plans whenever you two are out. usually, it’s always him who handles the where, when and how. you were never the type to plan ahead, often throwing yourself out there and seeing where it took you—and always the one following others plans and agreeing with everything. it was a friday night and you’ve gotten sick of the restaurants; you’ve sworn that you visited one of them at least more than 5 times in a month already.

you’re tempted to ask xiao to change it up a little, but it’s last minute—you’re getting ready and he’s on the way. you’re sure he would get mad, who wouldn’t? he’s booked a reservation, he’s wearing his nicest suit and you’re in your prettiest dress, it’d be a bit rude; but you’re sick of the monotony, work has got your legs sore and there’s nothing you want more than to lay in bed with your boyfriend.

xiao shows up at your door, and you hesitantly speak up before he takes your hand. “can we just stay in tonight?”

“tired today?” he smiles, expression soft and understanding—and you’re immediately relieved.

the night definitely did not go as xiao envisioned, but it’s okay—he’s with you, still, and that’s all he needs to check off his list.

THOMA grimaces at the thought of sitting across his lover, eating and just talking. that is the most boring thing ever, he would say; and that’s not because he doesn’t enjoy conversation with you, it’s mostly because there isn’t an opportunity for him to see you laugh or smile until your cheeks hurt at a dinner table. you won’t see anything funny at a fancy restaurant that would make you burst out laughing—and thoma loves that most about you, how your voice jumps an octave when you’re laughing and smiling, how your eyes sparkle most in those moments, or how you clutch your stomach when it’s too much to bear. there’s no fun in it, he would tell you time and time again.

due to this, it was clear what he needed to do. rule number 1, no dinner dates at fancy 5 star restaurants (unless you’re really craving a good steak). the weekend arrives swiftly, and you know your boyfriend is going to surprise you with a new adventure. this time, it’s going hiking and ziplining.

“oh, but we’ll be going together!” he responds, all cheery when you tell him you’re not a big fan of heights.

“that doesn’t make it any better.”

“are you sure? we could hold hands—“ thoma adds on, clearly convinced this was the most romantic thing to do with your lover.

Yes I could! I haven't been writing on here but I am open to it!

(Just to let you guys know though I am in school full time so I might be a little slow haha, here's a short post!) This could potentially be interpreted as romantic! There isn't any romance explicitly stated but they are kind of close/friend date scenarios almost just to let you know!

__________________________________________________ Some platonic moments with Arven might include: Going out into the forest to forage for ingredients, since you two already made such a duo trying to hunt for Herba Mystica! He's constantly reading new foraging books and is very careful, it almost makes you wonder why he doesn't do so hot in his other classes. He does have reading glasses, but he's too embarrassed to wear them in front of others. That could partly be the reason why he's been flunking, but then again a big part of passing class is showing up and he's the type to want to be everywhere but the classroom (except for Mr. Saguaro's class of course!) Sitting in fields and having picnics, making sandwiches together! Arven is a next-level chef so he carries around a mini hot plate and pan so he can cook things up on the spot, and most of the time it ends up incredible. ...Sometimes though, you've both been prone to burning certain ingredients or accidentally mixing the wrong things. Not to mention how often you drop stuff. Those sandwiches often go to Koraidon and Miraidon because they're quantity over quality type lizards.

If it weren't for his health, Mabostiff would also be feasting. Arven is really careful with his diet, and you're not sure his dog friend always likes being denied a gross burnt burger sandwich but it just goes to show how much Arven really cares. You both like to take naps in the grass, but you've found him snoozing in some very odd locations. He's usually propped against a rock or tree in the shade, or lying with his arms folded. Needless to say, you have nearly tripped over him before because he literally will choose any spot that looks like it might be even remotely comfortable.

He doesn't seem like it, but Arven is an incredibly strong trainer, and if he put his mind to it he could absolutely beat the gym challenge. You never really catch him training, but his Pokemon eat Michelin-star-level meals daily so you're starting to think that might be the secret to his incredible strength. Speaking of strength, he suffers from mild back pain from carrying that huge heavy pack around 24/7, but he'll still do wild and crazy things. He's not the most outwardly athletic in terms of sports but he's really good at hiking and climbing, and he's gotten very strong physically from exploring Paldea. When exploring, he's constantly trying to feed you. He's not the type to pull out trail mix either, he'll literally stop and park in the middle of nowhere if he finds out you haven't ate in a while and will sit there and angry-cook a whole meal in front of you. You do annoy him a little sometimes, but you think that he might have such a hyperfocus on food because of his childhood. It's not a fun topic for him though so you never try to pry. He knows you're a busy person, but somehow you always find time for each other. You're still attending the academy together at least, so it's not hard for him to stop by and check in on you. He's been barred from wandering off too far because of his grades, but you're not going to rat him out for sneaking out (partly because you come along and could get in trouble for encouraging him.)

Bishop Edibility Tierlist; A very deeply serious essay about which bishop would taste the best if you had to eat one of them for any reason

Aight, 88% of you voted in favour of this being released, so this is on you. This blood is on YOUR hands. Just remember that as you read this.

So you all remember that essay I did about how the bishops all had some kinda trauma or different reactions to purgatory and shit and how that was such a serious thing analyzing dialogue and reactions and stuff-?

Well there are TWO wolves inside of me, and one of them writes serious researched essays, it’s time you meet the other.

To preface this, this essay is entirely a joke please don’t take any word of this seriously.

To start with, technically anything is edible if you try hard enough, sometimes only once but I digress, however some things are more appetizing than others.

For this essay we will be taking evidence from canon in some cases on things you can eat, but assuming that this only means these things are more appetizing in this world, not that anything you can’t feast upon very specifically in the game is somehow inedible. Meat is meat.

Also Narinder will be referred to as a bishop because he was one.

Ok let’s start our list.

At the absolute bottom of the edibility tierlist is Narinder. Narinder is a cat. While technically cats are indeed edible by the laws of meat is meat, cats hold a special place in the hearts of many including myself.

But to be honest the real reason that Narinder holds this spot is meat quantity and quality of him specifically. Narinder, holds very little meat. Sure he has a head, but his arms are skeletal and it’s safe to assume possibly a lot of the rest of his body tis also but frail bone. Possibly what is not could also be rotten if he’s that kind of god of death that qualifies as a corpse. And while meat is meat, Narinder not only has very little, but what he does have may be poor quality. This cements him in the shameful bottom spot.

Moving on, next, quite regrettably, is Leshy. Leshy is a major jump in quality from Narinder.

We don’t know much about bushworms or their anatomy but what we do know, is Leshy is dummy thicc, this means he has a large quantity of meat.

Unfortunately Leshy is also a worm which isn’t exactly the most appetizing creature to put in your gaping maw so that docks him a few points.

However the true reason he cannot be higher is that depending on your read of his anatomy, Leshy could qualify as a salad, and EWWWWW VEGITALS!!! 🤢🤮🤮

Moving on to the “would eat again category” we start with Heket.

Now it should not be news to anyone that frogs are edible, especially to French people. But I don’t believe in French people, they aren’t real. Anyway as I’m saying, you can eat frogs to your hearts content!

There are sanitation issues with Anura apparently being super gross which docks some points but overall, Heket is a solid option.

Now we’ve reached “ok hear me out” territory with Shamura.

Spiders are a major food source in cult of the lamb. Which is a bit questionable for a few reasons, including that there are multiple spider characters and Webber exists but also small spiders on the ground which seem to be a separate species which raises a lot of questions possibly best gone unanswered.

What really matters is what you can do with the small spiders you find around, you can chase them down and when you catch them, they drop meat. My friends have told me that this means I’m just taking meat they are holding, after all you can get berries if the spider has taken them.

What I say to this is: but the idea of lamb running around at night and picking up whole large spiders off the ground and feeding them to their followers is fucking hilarious, and also they always drop the same meat and never berries unless they have picked them up. You’d think if I’m just taking what they have and they will eat berries as well as meat, that I’d get berries more often. Nay, only when picked up from my farms.

This leads to the only possible conclusion being that people in the cult of the lamb universe feed often on spiders, that’s right, Helob eating followers is VENGEANCE.

So, we have established spiders are very edible in cult of the lamb, and you know what Shamura is? A giant fucking spider. They are edible, I rest my case.

Now let’s move on to first place oh boy who is it, probably who you should have expected, Kallamar.

His name sounds like Calamari to start with and not only can you eat squids in real life, you can in the game (similar weird separate species thing with spiders only in this case it’s more definitive that you can very much eat the squids themselves.)

Kallamar would also likely cry if you proclaimed your desire to consume him, misery not only makes meat better but his tears could be seasoning!

Not even to mention the fact that after beating him, it would be a moment of victoriousness and pure vindictive nature, to proceed to eat Kallamar, and vindictive nature is something I most definitely do not lack as I cuss out bishops every time I see the statues after I beat them.

Squids also don’t have many bones so unlike the others who you’d have to spend an extensive time processing before eating, Kallamar would be easy and his bones make up very little of his composition.

In conclusion, why did you read this whole essay it’s not even that funny.

How I color manga panels: a tutorial

I'm no expert at doing recolors, I'm simply an artist who's occasionally too lazy to do my own lineart, and uses that of my favorite mangaka's so I can focus on other styles to simply have fun with my colors. I always try and choose panels or pages that are high quality, to avoid too much pixelization. Often I end up sourcing these from scanners or google images.

As far as programs, I use Krita (a free software). This all can be done with the standard brushes and tools that come with the software. But for some of the coloring, I have brushes from brush packs i like to use, as well as a few brushes I have customized myself. The main ones I use are from David Revoy, so if you want a recommendation for a great free brush pack, that's mine.

For this example I'll be using this panel from Chapter 58 of Moriarty the Patriot (I believe this would be Volume 15 of the manga) that I posted earlier here.

I'm not including the step where I crop the image, but I personally chose to remove some of the white borders that are needed for a traditional volume's page borders. Since I'm doing digital art, I don't always include them.

My next step is always to outline and fill the individual base layers. This includes the speech bubbles, each character, any independent props, the panels themselves and the backgrounds. There's no correct way to do this, but personally I use a brush to outline the object, then fill tool to well. Fill it, as well as the rectangle tool for the panels or straight lines I need to do.

For layers, I usually put all of these color base layers in a single group that's set to multiply, and change the opacity of the base panel so that I can fill the blacked out areas with a solid color easily, here you can see I was working with the base panel at 50%, but honestly i just kind of turn it down to whatever I think looks good.

The colors I use for this step are usually brightly saturated rainbow colors so it's easy to tell the different elements apart from each other. So you end up with something that ends up looking rather horrific like this:

From here, I usually create a copy of the base panel to put over the top of the colors. This way I can have transparency for the colors on some of the blacked out parts, but don't loose some of the nuance of the shading entirely. Moriarty the Patriot is a very black heavy cell style, which is the style I find the "panel above, panel below" method works best on. However as I work on the colors, I tend to toggle between having it on or off.

It's about here where I start doing my coloring. Of course this will depend on your coloring style and art habits, however personally, I like to start with the characters. I use those colored layers as the base layer I can clip my coloring layers to.

I will often turn off the layers that I'm not currently using so I don't have to deal with eyestrain, and will change the base layer to something more suitable (often a grey or light tan) so my color theory doesn't get all messed up. The bright colors in previous steps are to make sure they're visually separate. Now they've been established, I don't have to worry about that.

I don't usually label my layers, but for the sake of the tutorial I have to make it clearer which layer grouping is which.

I find in this step because of the multiply layer the colors can be a bit washed out, so I tend to either use much more saturated colors than I usually do, or switch to another layer style like Linear Burn of the overall color group to make the colors pop more. Ultimately though this comes down to personal preference. If your coloring style is very de-saturated, you might not have any problems with it. (I do suggest making your base color white, so the coloring of the base panel isn't off, you'll see in the screenshots above I forgot to when working on Sherlock. Ignore my mistake)

For the parts of the image where it's primarily blacked out (such as Sherlock's hair or coat) I don't bother shading at all, and only do the highlighting, as the black takes care of the darkest tones anyways.

During my coloring, I also add a separate grouping above everything for adding rendering and details above the panels. This includes things like the eye highlights (which I always do in pure #000000 white) and making certain parts of the heavily blacked out areas pop more.

(those refs and paint layer 13 are what I'm using to color pick off of, and keep the shading colors consistent throughout the piece. There's probably a better way to do it, but I just paste them directly into the image and then delete them at the end, paint layer 43 is a color dodge layer, and so has to be outside of the layer grouping to work)

It's a pretty subtle difference, but I find it's the little things that truly make the piece. Especially with the strands going over the face, they need just a bit more to make them really pop. I also just really like my fancy eyes which is hard to do without the top layer.

Insert several hours of coloring here, and about another hour just trying to figure out what gradient to use for the background, and you end up with the the base colors. From here I usually mess with overlay layers as well to get the colors to all look fancy and nice together without having to do color theory (pro tip /lh).

I forgot to grab screenshots while doing the background, but for the top panel I essentially just used the [deevad 5c screentones] brush and a transparency mask to add a screentone gradient, and totally didn't google "splatter overlay" or something like that and picked something off of google, and added some borders.

Because both the base manga panel and manga panel over the top are both not at full opacity, if there is text in the page or panel (such as this one) I like to copy the just the text part of the panel and add it as full opacity in the "colors" folder to make sure it's legible and matches up the rest of the colors.

And after all that, its basically done. I'll sometimes continue to mess around with certain aspects to make sure I like how it look, but that's essentially it. This is when I add my signature, and then it's queued to post!

• so getou has a PhD in philosophy and does research on the side of his position as a professor.

• he’s one of the few philosophy professors, so he teaches up to 4 - 5 classes a semester. this can include higher levels, major-specific, sub-categories, etc. but he always specifically requests a introduction to philosophy class, a requirement in most majors.

• it’s either that, or they take a speech class with Yuki Tsukumo and her teaching assistant, Aoi Todo. Who, yes, as an icebreaker, make you proclaim your type in men/women/other.

• yuuji took that class lol and now they’re trying to recruit him as a TA, no one could believe he would be the first to be recruited for that

• anyway, back to philosophy, getou has way too much fun being as evil and instigating as possible. you have to speak to get a grade in his class, and he will purposely misinterpret what you say.

nanako and mimiko:

• they are here and are still adopted by getou! they didn’t have the best home life, and moved around foster care for a lot of their lives until they accidentally bumped into getou while they were running away.

• he helped them call their social work and were moved into a better situation, though they begged him to stay in contact.

• a complicated and usual amount of time later, enough for adoption process in japan, he has officially adopted them.

• in present day, nanako and mimiko insisted on transferring colleges to the one getou got a job at so they could stay together.

• mimiko is currently a fashion design major and nanako is her biggest inspiration. she exclusively makes clothes for her or inspired by her and because of that she’s struggling a bit in college, despite being the top of her class.

• nanako is a digital marketing and social media major and part-time model who loves showing off mimiko’s designs. she also likes to bicker with nobara by saying her sister is on a whole different level than her. mimiko doesn’t care but likes the support her sister gives her lol

• mimiko will eventually change her major to graphic design, to someday design toys for children. she likes making clothes because it makes nanako smile, but she loves making toys that she and nanako used to cherish while hiding in the closet from their bad foster parents.

• like i said, nanako likes fighting with nobara, but actually has a lot of fun around her. she also loves panda and thinks he’s so fun and would be a great model. they always get chaotic around each other and turn into instigators.

• mimiko ended up finding an unexpected friendship in toge, he was quiet and she couldn’t understand sign but he always carried a little notebook that he would write notes in for her. they would watch nobara and nanako bicker, and toge would make her laugh by making doodles of them in the pages, and then clap when she drew a better quality version in turn. the way he ruffles her hair reminds her a bit of an older brother. (this is my agenda and i’m dying with it)!!

save ijichi:

• poor ijichi is an education major trying to get his master’s degree. being a teaching assistant was one of the requirements for him to graduate, and being gojo’s teaching assistant is the only position available.

• gojo did not want a teaching assistant, he likes to talk like a squirrel, go on tangents, and essentially not follow a schedule or explain to anyone. having a teaching assistant contradicts that so.

• lol

• gojo enjoys going on a tangent, losing everyone and then pointing at ijichi to answer a trick question.

• he also enjoys playing pranks on him, think of jim from the office. but his pranks are so nonsensical and childish that it gives everyone whiplash. once gojo accused him of passing notes and made him read a note out loud that gojo wrote, it only had a picture of a cat wearing sunglasses on it.

• the students feel so bad for him, when yuuta took the class, he always stayed after just to bow as deep as he could to apologize for his cousin’s behavior.

• every day ijichi tells himself he’s going to get a backbone, then gojo starts laughing and a cold chill runs up his spine

• gojo also leaves all the grading to ijichi but routinely complains about how lenient he is as a grader

• this man is fighting for his life

• in truth, gojo plans to give him a glowing recommendation that’ll guarantee him a high-paying, prestigious job, but he can’t let ijichi think he’s too nice, right?

toge drops out:

• so i think that toge would end up dropping out at the end of his second year in college. he’s just started his major courses, so the majority of his credits are transferable should he choose to come back.

• but it’s after yuuta comes back, and toge expects his mental state to get better. in some ways it does, he’s happy when he’s with them, but when it’s time to go to class he’s right back where he started.

• it’s probably kusakabe, one of his professors, that puts the idea of dropping out in his head. just a passing reference to how the professor dropped out several times before finding what he wanted to do.

• and the idea stayed like an infection, it was all toge could think about when he was finishing up his semester. even worse when their past upperclassmen, who did drop out to open their own bar, came for a visit.

• hakari was so open to questions about it, and kiara looked so happy talking about their business. and all he could remember was how bored and unhappy they were, and how they were thriving.

• and then gojo suggests it.

• but no one mistakes gojo trying to flirt with getou so he has a reputation as a homewrecker. even worse is that getou flirts back so everyone thinks they’re terrible people

• and they think it’s so funny so they only enable people into thinking so, yuuta couldn’t look gojo in the face for a month

• only nanako and mimiko know what’s actually happening and they’re both disgusted and not ready to have gojo as their step-father. megumi knows too but he’s suffering so much that everyone just leaves him alone

• yuuji is so distraught that his gojo-sensei is a horrible person, he and nobara do a confrontation and find out that they were dating the entire time.

Arcane's symbolism: Meaning of Vi

Of all the Arcane characters, I feel that Vi's name carries the most meaning in relation to her character.

Besides being associated with love in general, violets are also linked with lesbian love (thanks to Greek poet Sappho, who's poems centered around the relationships between women, who often wore the flowers). It's clear how this ties in with Vi and her relationship with a certain Pilty...

As for the shortened version of her name, Vi can be interpreted as the Roman numeral for the number six (which her stylised cheek Tattoo alludes to).

In Numerology, the number six is "the embodiment of the heart". It represents unconditional love and is a powerful force of compassion and empathy. The number six's strengths include:

Supportive - will be the first to provide a shoulder to lean on, truly try to understand, and give heartfelt advice. ("You wanna talk about today?", "We've all had bad days, but we learn, and we stick together")

Protective - its unconditional love extends to all people which allows it to speak up for those that don't have a voice. Especially fierce when it comes to family. (e.g. Vi standing up for Powder when Milo complains about her, her willingness to fight for the people of the Undercity)

Romantic - works hard to create peaceful relationships and is fluent in all love languages. Only happy when its other half is happy. (Romance we are yet to see...)

Its weaknesses include:

Passive - in order to keep the peace, six may allow itself to get taken advantage of. Would rather go along with an undesirable option than make waves. (We only really see this part of Vi when it comes to Powder/Jinx. "It's alright Powder, at least you're okay", "We can just go. We can leave and never come back")

Self-sacrificing - so willing to sacrifice itself for others that it neglects its own needs and well-being. Often overlooks the the self-care that would make it feel balanced. (e.g Vi willing to turn herself in to the enforcers. She has little regard for her own safety, putting herself in danger several times throughout the series in order to find her sister.)

Idealistic - expects everyone to treat others the way it does, which it believes would lead to a perfect world. When it realises its ideals are unattainable, it may face extreme upset. ("I grew up knowing I'm less than them, that my place is down there. I want Powder to have more than that and I'm willing to fight for it". Another moment that comes to mind is the council scene, where Vi becomes frustrated with the council for not sharing Jayce's view on stopping Silco. "This is how things are, how they've always been. I was so stupid to think it could change.")

(Going off point here: I noticed that Caitlyn has many of these qualities as well, in some cases exhibiting them even stronger than Vi. In this way, they are more similar than they realise. They both lead with their hearts.)

Let's move on to the third and final meaning, which lies in the realm of Tarot Cards. The sixth card in what is called the "Major Arcana" is, very fittingly, The Lovers.

This card has two different meanings, depending on its orientation in a reading:

1. The Lovers Upright

Represents conscious connections and meaningful relationships. The appearance of this card shows that you have a strong, beautiful connection with a loved one. You may believe you have found a soul mate or life partner. The chemistry between you goes beyond just physical attraction to something that is almost spiritual (AKA CaitVi).

While it typically represents a romantic tie, The Lovers card can also refer to a close friendship or family relationship where "love, respect and compassion flow" (AKA Vi and Jinx's sisterly bond)

The Lovers card is one of open communication and raw honesty. Its appearance is a sign that by "communicating openly and honestly with those you care about, you will create a harmonious and fulfilling relationship built on trust and respect". It's an invitation to open your heart and be vulnerable around someone (the scene that comes to mind is the one where Caitlyn and Vi are lying on the bed, and Vi talks about the childhood game her and Powder used to play. She shows a surprisingly amount of vulnerability, which leads to an intimate moment between her and Caitlyn. By being vulnerable, Vi instigated progression of their relationship. )

On a more personal level, the card is about defining your beliefs and values and staying true to them. You are figuring out what your philosophy is and what you stand for. (This is something we see Vi struggle with throughout the series. Vi's ideologies are constantly challenged and therefore evolving. In Act 1, it's through Vander's teachings, and the rest of the series, it's Caitlyn challenging everything she thought she knew about enforcers and Topsiders in general. Even so, the biggest threat to her value system is in the finale, where she is faced with whether or not she should choose to put some of her own values aside to maintain her relationship with Jinx. I think we will see a continuation of this personal journey in season 2: Is she going to follow Vander's example or forge her own path? Will she choose to believe the Piltover and the Undercity's relations can improve, or will they forever be "oil and water"? Who is she when she isn't constantly striving to reconnect with her sister? Will she ever be able to forgive her for everything she's done? Will she ever be able to forgive herself?

At its heart, The Lovers is about choice. Who you want to be. How you want to connect with others. This card is often a sign that you are facing a moral dilemma and must consider all the consequences before acting. It is advised not to make a decision out of fear, guilt or shame. Your values system is being challenged, and "you are being called to take the higher path, even if it is difficult."

Finally, The Lovers card encourages you to unify dual forces and bring together two parts, one that are seemingly in opposition, to form a harmonious "whole" (very fitting for a show whose central theme focuses on duality). This is where I see Vi and Caitlyn working together to forge peace between the two sides of the city, which is the reason she eventually becomes an enforcer. And, naturally, acceptance of this unified duality may also lead to the initiation of a relationship with Caitlyn.

2. The Lovers Reversed

Reversed, The Lovers can signal a time when you're out of sync with those around you, especially your loved ones (and it's no secret that Vi and Jinx have become "out of sync"). You're relationship is strained and communication is difficult. Depending on the case, you can either try to bring love and compassion to the situation, or you can accept that you've grown apart and move on (this is the harrowing decision that Vi is facing).

The Reversed card may reflect that there are feelings in a relationship that aren't mutual. One person may be more emotionally involved than the other which, down the line, can lead to disappointment and insecurity. You may also be reluctant to open your heart for fear of getting hurt. (This is basically the "oil and water" scene beat for beat. Vi is afraid of opening up to a relationship with Caitlyn and shatters the prospect of "mutuality" by stating that it "wasn't meant to be". And then there's Vi's relationship with Jinx, which also has a lack of mutuality, at least from Jinx's point of view: "I thought, maybe you could love me like you used to, even though I'm...different". i.e Why can't you love the new me like you loved Powder? It hurts because it's not that Vi doesn't love her, it's that she doesn't love her in the way that she wants her to, thereby leading to her choosing Jinx over Powder. She can't go back to being Powder. After all, "she fell down a well".)

Not only does the card refer to relationships with others, it also speaks to self-love and respect. To what extent do accept your identity and the value you offer the world? (I doubt Vi has any self-love and respect left, which is really sad. Her self-worth was already damaged in childhood; "I grew up knowing that I'm less than them. That my place is down there." This feeling of worthlessness was only exacerbated by her time in prison, where she was beaten senseless by the gaurds on a regular basis. You can tell by the way she carelessly throws herself into danger that she doesn't believe she's of any value except for being her sister's protector.)

The card encourages you to be mindful of when you look at other people and wish you were more like them. "Understand that if you can recognize these traits in others, it is because you have them within you." (In other words, what you perceive in others is a way for you to recognize your own strengths. Vi looks at Caitlyn and sees this amazingly kind, good-hearted and empathetic person. But what she doesn't realise is that she has these qualities as well. Caitlyn even points it out: "Despite it all, I can tell. You have a good heart ". Despite her constant cynicism towards Caitlyn, this quality still managed to shine through, enough for Caitlyn to notice it. My hope for next season is to see Vi get in touch with her tender side again after having to be tough for so long.)

If the Lovers Reversed shows up in a reading, you might face a tough choice with significant consequences (Vi faces the ultimate choice in the now infamous "tea party" scene, where Jinx presents her with the question: "Where should I sit? That's your choice, really." But what Vi doesn't expect is the way she has to answer that question: by choosing whether or not to kill Caitlyn.)

Instead of making a decision based on your values, you feel tempted to cut corners. (Vi tries to evade the dilemma by suggesting that they leave together. Nevertheless, this only makes the situation worse by riling up Silco.) The Lovers Reversed encourages you to reconsider and choose the path most in alignment with your values - no matter how difficult it might be (this might be a hint to Vi letting go of any prospect of a having a normal relationship with her sister again)

Lastly, this card can also suggest inner conflicts and being at war with oneself, rather than with external forces. You may be punishing yourself for something you have done or consider yourself responsible for. (Vi clearly has an extreme sense of guilt. She was the big sister that was in charge of taking care of her siblings, and when it came to it, save Vander. Even though there are several factors at blame, she feels responsible for the death of her family and her sister's poor mental health. Not only that, she also feels guilty for not being able to support Ekko and Powder in the time following that fateful night. It must eat her from the inside out: If I just hadn't gone through with the heist, none of this would have happened. Why did I have to hit Powder? Why did I have to call her a jinx? I have no one left, and it's all my fault. I'm the real jinx.

Now, let's take a step back and see what the running theme is here. Considering each of the three meanings her name represents, it's easy to see: Vi is the human embodiment of the heart. And love is the force that drives her. Nevertheless, sooner or later she's going to flatline. A heart must both give and receive blood for it to continue beating.

From what we've seen, there is NO DOUBT that Vi is able to give immense amounts of love; it's literally permanently tatooed onto her. But the question remains; will she be able to let herself receive it?

“Steve Harrington, if you are about to say that I’m the only ten you see I will punch you in the arm.” You rolled your eyes at the boy who had been trying out his supposed ‘best chat-up lines’ on you to show Dustin and Lucas the secrets of how to get girls.

“I- I wasn- Okay, so maybe don’t use that one.” He shrugged, trying to hide his amusement at your reaction.

“I’m going getting another scoop. Anyone want anything?” The boys all said no and you headed over to talk to Robin at the counter.

“So, with these super smooth moves of yours, why are you the only one at this table who is currently single?” Lucas asked Steve with a smirk.

“Hey!” The older boy said with a hint of genuine offence as he looked over to where you stood.

“Oh, he’s working on it. Problem is none of his lines are actually working.” Dustin chuckled, following Steve’s gaze. “You should just ask her out. Come on, you’ve been dancing around it for months now.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Steve’s cheeks flushed slightly and he focused on the empty ice-cream tub on the table in front of him.  

“Right, so now you two know that Steve is full of it, you’re not going to use any of those lame lines, right?” You said as you slid back into the booth beside Steve.

“Definitely.” Lucas smirked.

“What advice would you give then? I mean, Steve here is seriously striking out.” Dustin offered, earning himself a kick under the table.

“Harrington’s problem is he goes for quantity over quality. He hits on so many girls that some of his strike outs are because the girl doesn’t think he’s serious, and no girl wants to feel like she’s one of many. You find a girl you like, you make her feel special, sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t, but the main thing is knowing that everyone is different and finding out how to make that person feel like they mean something to you is important. There is no ‘fool proof’ way, no generalisation that gets the girl. It would be like me trying to pick up Harrington by talking d and d, would never work.” You shrugged and ate a spoonful of your ice-cream.

“So, what would work? On Steve?” Lucas asked, his eyes lit up with mischief as Harrington shot him a death glare.

“Hmmm, well people tend to think he’s a little shallow, all about his hair and pretty girls, but that’s just the superficial layer left over from the King Steve days. Nah, if I was to hit on Harrington, which would be self-esteem suicide, I would tell him how smart he is.” That earned a scoff from the boys, and you shot them a dark look. “He is! He thinks practically and takes care of everyone, including you two shitheads.”

“Show us. Show us how it’s done.” Dustin encouraged, trying his hardest not to bounce in his seat as you rolled your eyes.

“Okay, so, if I was the kind of person who did this kind of thing, and Harrington was the kind of guy I thought I had a shot with, for educational purposes, it might go a little something like this.” You put your spoon down and shifted to face Steve, your elbow resting on the back of the seat.

“You-“ Steve began only to be cut off when his eyes met yours and his mouth went dry. Your expression was so soft and he swallowed thickly.

“Hi.” You said softly, a smile playing on your lips. “I don’t think I thanked you for the ice-cream, so, thanks. You’re always so sweet to share your staff discount, taking care of all of us. I hope you know I really appreciate it, appreciate you. Coming in here and seeing you in that adorkable uniform always makes me smile. Not that I’m laughing at you, I think you make that uniform look good, but seeing you makes me smile, the hat’s just an added bonus.” You chuckled and Steve felt his heart fluttering in his chest, his eyes flitting to your lips as your spoke, each word filling him with a warmth he wasn’t prepared for.

“The hat? You like the hat? Maybe I should wear it more often.” He smirked, his eyes sparkling as he looked at you.

"See, told you you’re smart.” Your smile widened and Steve wasn’t entirely sure if this was real or purely a demonstration for the kids. “Right, I’ve got to get back to work, so…” you turned and picked up your ice-cream, getting ready to head back to the bookstore.

“Hey, call me.” Steve said playfully, hoping that if you rejected him that he could play it off as part of the whole bit.

“If you’re as smart as I know you are, you’ll call me.” You winked before waving your goodbyes to the kids and Robin, then heading out of Scoops.

“I should call, right?” he asked Lucas and Dustin as he watched you leave.

“And we’re supposed to believe he’s smart.” Lucas rolled his eyes as Dustin chuckled.

Not Sims - Just Reign

So I binge watched the final 5 episodes today and... I am emotionally compromised. See below for my ramblings and how I attempted to make album art a decade ago.

If you clicked keep reading I'm going to assume you don't mind reading my rambles so I'm just going to indulge myself here. I need to process and getting it out helps me process.

I first saw Reign during my final year of High School and fell completely in love. Quite aside from English History being a special interest for me at the time, Adelaide Kane and Toby Regbo were so gorgeous. Honestly the signs that I'm bisexual were right there but it just did not click.

If you're my moot you will know by now I am a massive romantic. So of course I would get invested in the Mary Francis love story. Thanks past me for routing for Francis from the start, smart choice.

The outfits took my breath away, as did the wonderful landscapes. I fell in love with everything Mary wore and tried to find a graduation dress that was as close to something like that as possible.

The music! I loved every track they put with the episodes. Shout out to that one youtube channel that was posting full versions of the songs. I have a playlist with the music from the first two seasons and have listened to it on loop so often. There was a website that would post screenshots of the episodes and I would copy paste and make my own album art. Not to do anything with, they were solely for me to see when the songs came up on my iPod.

BUT I only watched the first two seasons before I took a break. History wise I knew Francis would die before they had a child, but the end of season 2 seemed to announce his death was approaching and my romantic self could not handle it. So over the next few years I rewatched the first two seasons plenty, and continued to listen to the music. I tried to watch season 3 in my first year at university, I really did. But things were different back then and I could only find low quality episodes because legitimate streaming services were in their infancy, if they even existed.

During my post grad diploma I would take a train part of the way to my placements. It was on the train that I happened to catch someone watching Reign on their phone. Not just any part of Reign either, the recap that shows Francis dying and Mary saying goodbye to the coffin. You bet any progress I had made towards being able to watch it was reset.

Following the worst of my depression, last year I began to feel a proper interest in things I love again and I wanted to see Reign to its conclusion. So I got myself the DVDs for season 3 (I don't have netflix, plus I like having physical copies of things) and worked my way through. Since I hate spoilers I didn't want to read the blurbs included in the cover so I never knew which episode Francis would die in, I was happy he was in it for so long. The whole plot with Francis having made Mary a sword for taking back Scotland made me love them all the more.

I gifted myself season 4, the final season, for Christmas. I've been watching it in bits and pieces. I have this thing where if something is ending I try to hold off the ending for as long as possible. But today I was so under the weather that I did watch the last disc all in one go.

Side note, Rizzio. I can't believe that actually happened! But wikipedia says it did. It really sounds like something a drama show would make up.

I've always known Queen Mary was executed for supposedly trying to kill Queen Elizabeth. I wasn't sure how Reign would tackle that. I figured they would do a flash forward or do that text over screen thing. I love neat endings but my heart could survive not seeing the end of Mary. I begun the final episode, saw Toby Regbo's name in the starting line up and immediately teared up. If he was in the episode then they were certainly going to show her death. Those end scenes, they made me happy and sad all at once. I loved that Francis was there for her, and I loved the flashbacks through their life together. Damn did it make me cry though.

The main characters have had a place in my heart for a decade. So heck yeah I'm grieving the loss. I know I'll watch it again, so it's not a permanent goodbye, but it's tough to see the end of anyway.

Akira has a habit of picking up information offhandedly rather than asking or initially searching for it, so it’s more than likely that he’d find out before you say something to it. It’s not just because he’s a Phantom Thief, although the alternative is entirely possible because even he has things slip past him. He tends to overhear things (he likes to use eavesdrop loosely) and is a naturally observant person, so it’s likely that he’ll catch on with some time. That doesn’t mean that he isn’t intrigued or curious if you tell him because he has this little twinkle in his eye that gives him away and it’s the cutest thing ever on top of the slight tilt of his head. He’s not always the most emotive, and so it’s important that you pick up on his smaller cues to realize he’s so interested. He’s never met someone who’s had a twin before and it’s neat to him. It’s entirely likely that he’d actually meet him while he’s navigating around or heading to school or to meet with a confidant to hangout, but he may not realize they’re not you at first. He’s aware of any differences, such as hair length or clothing, and keeps a note of it. Then it starts happening a lot more and he’s realizing that something is going on and he’s not the only one catching on because Morgana is noticing this, too, so he’ll probably outright ask you if you have a twin. Then he starts to feel guilty that he didn’t realize it wasn’t you and apologize, but mention that he’s never met someone with a twin before. It can be taken as a simple comment, but to those who know him like the back of their hands know that practically means I’ve never met someone with a twin before and I want to change that. Can you introduce me?

Intrigue regarding your twin aside, it’s important to Akira that he gets to know the people you’re close to and care for a lot, and that includes them. There is definitely question of whether or not they or someone you know has a Shadow in Mementos or a Palace, but that comes from a place of worry and being a Thief for so long. He wants to make sure that he’s on good terms with them because any tension would just be awkward, and anyone important to you is important to him. He’s very civil and it takes a bit to open up to them, and his usual silence may be a little off-putting to some so you’ll have to tell your twin that it’s nothing personal in the slightest. He definitely will open up after a bit of time and they’ll find it’s surprisingly easy to talk to him, as if he knows just what to say. Every time he parts from them and he’s walking away with you, he asks if they liked him with the most adorable spark of anticipation in his eyes. He really wants them to like him, so expect him to give some gifts because his team has always liked them and he figures that they may, too. He hopes, anyways. Eventually, they may become another confidant of his and someone he goes to for ideas regarding surprises or gifts you may like without spoiling it by asking you to your face. Imagine your twin finds out that Akira is a Phantom Thief (the leader of them, no less) before you do and he knows the dangers of associating with them. It’s because of that that he understands any worry they may have, but, with all of the seriousness in him, he promises that he’ll never let anything happen to you.

Ryuji’s not known for being the smartest person out there by any means and it could easily be considered one of his more endearing qualities, but it’s also a double-edged sword. He does have his moments where he can take people by surprise by his knowledge or his aggressiveness used to stand up for someone. It often takes him a bit of time for information to process or he genuinely doesn’t understand and needs some help following along. A topic like the Metaverse can be so bizarre and confusing, but hearing that you have a twin is something he can get pretty fast after taking a short while until he finally realizes it. It’s almost comical if the group wasn’t in collective exasperation. He thinks it’s the bees freaking knees and definitely one of the coolest things ever, if you ask him. He’s never met someone who’s had a twin before and is like a little kid: blatantly excited and foaming at the mouth with questions. Ryuji genuinely doesn’t mean any harm by asking you questions that may be a pain to answer because you’ve heard them so much, so tell him what you don’t like being asked because he’ll for sure avoid them. Learning that you have an identical twin makes this even cooler and it’s doesn’t seem possible for his eyes to sparkle so brightly in awe as he asks you question after question. Such as if twins have telepathic abilities, can feel each other’s pain, and so on. It then starts to make him wonder if he’s ever bumped into your twin in public without realizing it and then makes him feel bad for mixing you two up if he did. Ryuji is upfront about meeting them and isn’t afraid about asking if your twin would be cool with that. It’s a mix between “Holy shit I’m about to meet an identical twin. Best day ever!” and “This is my partner’s sibling, Ann said meeting them is important but I don’t really get why”.

An assumption that many people—including the Thieves—would have is that he wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between you and your twin and he’s almost offended that they would think that about him. Joke’s on them because he does a pretty damn good job of being able to tell the difference without much of an issue or so much as thinking about it. He genuinely doesn’t understand why he wouldn’t be able to pick out his partner between you and your twin; it sounds kind of silly. As mentioned, Ryuji isn’t as sentimental as his leader or some others when it comes to why he wants to meet your twin and simply sees it as meeting someone you care for and trust. He’d be the same if you ever wanted to meet his mom one day, if not real nervous because she’s someone who means a lot to him and so you two getting along is important. It should be noted that he and his casual enthusiasm can be a bit much when people first meet him so a warning might be warranted beforehand. Rather than frequently giving gifts like his leader, Ryuji likes spending time out somewhere, like getting ramen or jogging, and may invite your twin to join if you don’t mind. At the rate he yells it at the top of his lungs at, it’s more than likely that your twin will find out that he’s a Phantom Thief pretty quickly and beg that they don’t say a word. As rambunctious as he may be and not the sharpest tool in the shed, it’s clear that he cares for you more than words can express and would never do anything to put you in harm’s way.

Yusuke isn’t as outwardly emotive about his emotions as someone like Futaba, Ann, or Ryuji, but that doesn’t mean he’s apathetic or that it’s impossible to ascertain what he’s feeling. Unless he’s particularly inspired or excited about something where he’ll strike the most exuberantly dramatic pose and exclaim his newest revelations, his reactions can be subtle and may go unnoticed if you’re not paying much attention. He’s like Joker in that regard, but significantly more obvious and revealing of how he’s feeling. When you tell him that you have a twin, Yusuke does the cutest little tilt of his head and his eyes widen just a bit. It’s such a meager reaction in comparison to Ryuji or Goro’s, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t surprised, curious, or interested in this new information. He’s quick to ask if he could meet them someday if you’re alright with that (he doesn’t understand why you wouldn’t be considering you told this to him, but he figures it’s best to make sure beforehand), and poses questions about them until then. In a sense, it’s a way to gauge how close you are to them as his art career has taught him well that everyone views someone or something else in their own unique ways. Yusuke simply thinks it’s neat and also probably to prepare himself beforehand so he’s not totally lost as to how to interact with them. His lack of surprise has to do with the fact he’s met a pair of twins before at some art galleries with Madarame and a former pupil was one, but he still thinks it’s intriguing to meet someone’s literal other half. It doesn’t feel right to not express an interest in your family, either, if you’re close to them.

Yusuke has a bit of a bad habit of being underprepared for simple events for one reason or another, like blowing all of his money on sweets and losing out on his meals for awhile. Fortunately, he understands the importance of prioritizing his readiness for trips to the Metaverse, but it’s almost comical that he isn’t in the real world. He didn’t even think about bringing a gift or anything of the sort that your twin may like and would stare down at his feet like a kicked puppy, upset with himself because he’s sure that this is going to ruin their first impression of him. You’ll definitely have to reassure him that it’s not and that it’s totally okay; he’ll take your word for it, but he’s dripping in guilt. When he finally does meet your twin, he’s very polite and is able to keep up a conversation, but he’s definitely studying your twin while they speak. He may make a rectangle with his pointer fingers and thumbs and gaze between the two of you with a look that could be considered intimidating and scrutinizing when he’s merely taking notes of similarities and differences. As an artist who’s studied and practiced his craft for so long, Yusuke has an impressive and astoundingly good eye for detail. From the smallest feature to something that’s blatantly obvious, he’s phenomenal when it comes to identifying who is who if you’re identical. He’ll point out his observations if he has to, but doesn’t understand how people would have any difficulty and forgets that not everyone is as meticulous as him. Your resident artist doesn’t have any remaining family that he knows of, but he can feel his mother’s love through the Sayuri and if your love for your twin is anything like that, he can understand how important they would be to you—and him, by extension.

It’s more than likely that Goro already knows you have a twin without you so much as telling him. This is the second coming of Detective Prince—your Detective Prince—after all. He has access to all sorts of classified documents that a normal civilian could only dream of laying their eyes on that he could use to find out sooner, but he used his natural sleuthing skills as to not step on your toes. He could have easily gone through everything, learned every detail down to the tiniest line of text, but told himself that he would learn about you organically. It’s unlikely that he wouldn’t use such powerful tools to his advantage if he really wanted to, and yet he decided against it. He loves you and cherishes his relationship with you too much to risk destroying it. Goro would most likely be the one to bring up the topic to you through an inconspicuously innocent comment out of the blue over breakfast or while out and about, and that opens the door to your twin as a whole. He isn’t so much accusatory as he is curious and trying to gather as much information on them as he can from you. He’s a bit more vocal than some others are about learning about them, easily able to hold a conversation and often slipping into something affectionately called his “detective mode” by accident. Goro would listen to whatever you have to say with his undivided attention regardless of the topic, but when he sees how happy you are at the topic of your sibling, he’ll happily listen and pose questions to keep the ball rolling.

The Detective Prince has never been particularly close to any of his family that wasn’t his mother and doesn’t plan on changing that anytime soon when he’s rather put a bullet through his father’s head. While he doesn’t understand that close bond you have with your sibling, he does understand that they’re important to you and takes that and them into consideration. Silently, deep down, refusing to admit itself to you, is a paranoia that has to make sure they’re not someone he has to be careful of. He’s perfectly comfortable with simply having you in his life, but he’s not surprised by the question you pose of him meeting them. It’s only a matter of time that he does and he’ll agree after figuring out a day when he isn’t busy. Whether it be for dates or simply to spend time together (or by himself if he needs some alone time), the Jazz Club is reserved for the two of you and so bringing your twin there is not an option in his books, but he will agree to almost anywhere else. He’ll introduce himself with his usual charming smile and will make conversation for the sake of being polite, but may start to delve deeper topics that interest him if they’re something your twin shares an interest in—the definition of justice, what is right, their opinion on the Phantom Thieves, etc. He may comment on similarities shared between the two of you in a true fascination, but otherwise doesn’t ask ridiculous questions like Ryuji. Although he may reveal a fabricated personality to the world that your twin may or may not pick up on, it’s clear to them that there’s nothing more genuine than how much he cares about you and the way he looks at you full of nothing but love.

Hearing that you have a twin leaves Kasumi in a bit of surprise that unabashedly shows all over her face and she pauses for a few moments that starts to tread past comical and inch towards concerning. You’ll have to ask if she’s alright because her mind is spinning with all sorts of thoughts and it’ll snap her out of them, where she’ll respond with a nod, an embarrassed flush despite hearing only the latter half of what you said, and an apology. She’ll explain that she used to have a younger twin sister that passed away not too long ago and so the topic brought up those memories out of the blue and caught her off-guard. However! She brought that up because you’re her partner and you deserve to know about Sumire, not to dissuade you from speaking about your own. The wound her twin left in her heart is still tender and fresh—it’s probably for the best that the memories of that day are so fuzzy, as if someone had blanketed the truth to comfort her from reliving it—but she one-hundred percent understands the bond you have with your twin and would love to learn about anything you’re willing to share about them. Past the peculiar bout of frustration that bubbled in her chest and was promptly pushed away, she’s appreciative of any concern you may have for her but constantly assures you that you don’t have to worry or walk on eggshells around her. Kasumi is often so busy with gymnastics that it’s hard to make time for activities outside of school and practice and only gets a moment of reprieve on Sundays where she’s free from classes or at lunch. It’s a miracle that she was able to squeeze time with you into her hectic schedule, but she does express an interest in meeting your twin someday with a big smile that makes your heart skip a beat.

Regardless of whether or not you’re part of the Phantom Thieves, it’s crystal clear that Sumire’s started to change for the better after Maruki’s defeat. She’s slowly growing her confidence and building a sense of self-esteem, which she’s insistent is because she has you in her corner supporting her. She’s pretty different from how she was before, but she’s so authentic and herself that it’s incredibly endearing and heartwarming to see. Before she leaves for internationals, she is dead-set on meeting your twin. She promised she would before and she planned on sticking to it, even if she’s outwardly a little nervous and twice as much on the inside. Past the whole Kasumi situation, it’s really nice to meet another twin and be able to relate to things that others may not have been able to. She’s met a couple other twins in her life, but no one she’s gotten close to and she can detect a unique irony to knowing that her partner has one. Sumire’s super apologetic that she couldn’t have meet your twin beforehand and voices that, but finds it easy to befriend them and talk to them. She’s definitely going to tell your twin all sorts of stories of your dates and adventures together with a sweet giggle between getting to know them as a person, and you bet she brought some food for them. It may not be the best out there, but she tried her hardest to make their favorite dish and wrapped it in the cutest cloth of their favorite color. She doesn’t let what happened in the Metaverse slip to them, but she does mention that she wouldn’t be where she is now without you.

Firstly, I'm so sorry you had a shitty day! I know you sent this in yesterday but I didnt get time to answer it then so I hope it's okay that I'm only getting to it now! This is such a cute question and I'm gonna write a little bit about a few subs (including Oscar) :))

OSCAR:

Honestly I think quality time is the way to go for Oscar? He isnt very receptive to little gifts, he likes them of course, but they don't instantly make his mood better.

However, finding out that you've set aside an entire evening just for him? That will make him giddy for the ENTIRE day. If he texts you and says he's had an awful day and you tell him that he can choose a movie and watch it between your thighs? His day has been made.

Scenes are wonderful too of course. But what Oscar really needs to feel better is to be reminded that his dom loves and cares for him, so much so that they would put aside time for him.

CHARLES:

Charles actually tends to get upset quite a bit? It's NEVER because of you though. He could never be upset because of his dom, his dom is the light of his life. But you're his safe space, which means he shows you his true emotions and honestly he's just a very sensitive little boy?

But that's okay because making him feel better is genuinely the easiest thing ever. A little gift, like a plushie or a little chocolate always makes him feel better. But honestly just a hug and a forehead kiss will have him smiling too?

He gets upset a lot, but all he needs is some kisses and snuggles from his dom and he's happy again.

MICK:

Mick is usually a very happy sub, and it takes a lot to get him upset enough that it seeps into his time with you. Because normally the moment he's alone with you, it's like all his stress just melts away and he can be your happy good boy.

But when he does get upset enough that he can't be happy with you, then the trick is just to look after him?

It's happened enough times that you have a whole routine. First he gets a nice bubble bath, you undress him and get into the bath with him to wash him. Sometimes you'll give him a soft hand job in the bath, sometimes not. You'll often give him a massage then, nothing sexual just to relax him. Then he gets to cuddle on the couch with you, his head on your chest while you play with his hair. Just some nice quiet time where you take care of everything.

LANDO:

To be honest, Lando is a bit of a little shit. When he's upset, everyone knows about it and it becomes everyone's problem. Yet you're the only one who can reset him (to the point where sometimes his trainer will call you, begging you to please fly over and work your magic on Lando so that he can stop being a bitch to everyone).

And what he needs is one of two things. Sometimes it's just to unwind with you, to cuddle with you and watch funny videos and be able to decompress. Others times, when he's got too much energy and can't calm down, then you have to scene with him and be HARSH. That's usually the state he's in when mclaren call you, begging you to please just reset him.

You absolutely wreck him and then put him back together. And then he's back to being a happy Lando.

PIERRE:

If Pierre is upset, what he really needs is a safe space to decompress, that's it. You're his safe person, his dom is the one person he can trust with absolutely everything, the one person he knows for a fact will always keep his secrets.

So honestly you just have to let him kneel for you and bitch about everything that's been going on? He lets it all out, and he holds nothing back. You just sit there, letting him get it all off his chest. Then he'll be happy again.

You have a massive taste for Marshall Merch, so well: What, in your opinion is the most high quality items you've came across, Plushes, Toys, etc.

A part of me feels like the plush dolls are a bit hard to judge, since their quality can be all over the place. One day, you'll find a doll that looks surprisingly good, and then the next, Marshall looks like one of those knock-off characters sold at a dollar store. Still, I was able to pick out a few that I think represent some high quality, such as...

...the Build-a-Bear plush, which I think is still one of the finer plush dolls in my collection to this day. It's such a shame they don't sell these in the BAB stores anymore (last I heard, anyway).

And this plush doll from "GUND". Honestly, they often release high quality products, so I'm not surprised I'm finding myself including their name here. This one in-particular has always stood out to me.

Moving away from plush dolls, I wanted to find some items that I felt here high quality in the sense that A) they represent or look like the character quite well, B) are painted or manufactured carefully, and C) are actually sturdy or seem like they'll last.

This, sadly, leaves out some of the items I purchased recently. For example, that cup topper I got from the AMC Theater; it's nice, but Marshall's outfit on it is all red, despite his actual outfit having more color than that (such as the black on his hind legs). While it's a cool item and I'm happy to have it, that seemed like such a shoulder shrug to the manufacturers, thus I wouldn't deem it "high quality".

In any case...

One such item that fits this criteria, imo, is this item. It looks surprisingly great, the character looks quite accurate, and it doesn't feel cheap... and it's just a shampoo bottle! Crazy to think a company put this much effort into something that might get thrown away once its empty. This one was never sold in the United States, so I had to import it from the United Kingdom.

I also feel this bank fits my criteria, too. Funnily enough, this was also imported from the United Kingdom. I'd joke and say all of their products must be high quality, but I also imported a battery-powered bubble blower from them, and that thing feels so cheap and brittle, just staring at it might cause it to break. lol

The Christmas ornaments... er... hang on. That's not a great pic, huh? My phone can be so inconsistent. Sometimes it looks good, sometimes not. The flash can help, but not always. My TracFone camera is something that's NOT high quality. lol

Okay, now that I've returned with my mother's camera (after scrounging around for four AA batteries to power the thing)...

The Christmas ornaments can often look weird, hastily painted, and have eyes that appear so... off. But then you'll find ones like this that are surprisingly good. It really stands out, imo. However...

THIS is easily the best of the bunch. It's made by Hallmark, and the detail is surprisingly so good! My only gripe is the crease around his mouth, but even the Chase ornament (released a year prior) did the same thing, too. Guess it's unavoidable, since they didn't even skimp on giving the inside of his mouth some detail, too. I have to wonder if we'll ever see another Marshall ornament of this quality again? I hope we do... and I'll collect it, of course. :)

This item also counts. It looks better than most of the figurines I've collected, and to think, it's just a simple flashlight. I guess it helps that the designs of the pups are quite simple, thus some products can get their likeness down pat so well... which makes it confusing when other manufacturers gets them so wrong. lol

This snow glove is also really, really good. The pups are a little expressionless, but other than that, it just looks great. I feel like plenty of care went into this one... which is probably why they sold out so quickly when I went looking for one. lol

I could probably find some more items, but I think this will do it for now. However, before closing this out, I would like to state one thing; just because I don't find every item in my collection to be of high quality, that doesn't mean I dislike them or something. Sure, that AMC topper I mentioned earlier might be missing some color and detail I was hoping to see, but I'm not disappointed in it at all. I was still really happy to get one! In fact, outside of a very few items, I've loved collecting everything you see in my collection thus far! Hey, something doesn't have to be perfect to be good. :)
