AU List
Hello! Welcome! This is my attempt at keeping the AU's boiuncing around in my head in order. They should be mostly in chronological order.
Some of them are getting turned into full length fics! The list (and it's open to suggestions) can be found here: Fic List
A couple of things:
Please feel free to write your own fics based on any of these! No need to ask, simply link it so I can also read it <3
If you have any specific scenarios you have an idea for and would like me to write- my asks/prompts are always open! I can't guarantee quality as I do most of my writing at like, 3 AM but I'll try my best!
I don't condone racism, bigotry, homophobia, etc.. I do not welcome it here. I acknowledge that I have biases that I've yet to unlearn. If there's something that makes you feel unwelcome in the things I write, please let me know and I will fix it ASAP.

Every time I see one of the “Bruce Wayne collects orphans” or “where does Batman get all these children???” jokes, I get this little ping in my head because, yes, it is a good joke, very funny, bonus points if it’s other characters trying and failing to combine Broody McBroodface with Tired DadTM. But also…
I just can’t shake the conviction that no one is as baffled and bewildered by his ever increasing number of children than Bruce Wayne himself.
Like, this man clearly never intended to be a dad. He is Vengeance and Justice Committed to The Mission. Kids don’t factor into that. And to that point, it’s worth noting that none of his kids were premeditated. At no point has Bruce ever thought “maybe I want a(nother) kid.” They just sorta…happen. And not even in the usual way! (Mostly)
Like, Dick? Bruce wasn’t going “orphan shopping.” He went to the circus to to relax for once in his godforsaken life and wow, would you look at that, a vivid recreation of his own trauma and, oh, who’s this kid Batman keeps running into on patrol, wait, this is the same kid?! Whoops, I guess I’m raising this kid now, Alfred how do you raise a kid!?!
Jason? Yeah, Bruce was just doing his usual Batman thing when he ran into a homeless kid and somehow got too attached. Tim just showed up one day and said, “hi, I’m your kid now, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.” (Really. you can’t stop me). Damien basically did the same thing, only with more stabbing. Cass…?? Stephanie????!!
(Bruce googling in the middle of the night: Is it normal to adopt your son’s ex-girlfriend?? Or did she adopt me??? Giving a kid an unlimited credit card and vigilante training counts as adoption, right??)
Point is, these kids just…show up, needing help, and somehow, for reasons that defy all logic, Bruce is the adult best equipped to help them. And yeah, Bruce never intended to adopt a kid (…or seven) and, no, he doesn’t exactly know what he’s doing, but these kids need him so he takes them in and does His Best because he’s the one who can.
Which is all to say, I think we should see far more conversations re: Finding out Batman has approx. 5 million kids that go like this
Someone: What? Do crime-fighting orphans, just like...crawl out of the woodwork around you? Bruce, exasperated and visibly stressed: yeah, BASICALLY.

Oh my God!
I just caught up with World's Finest: Teen Titans and I absolutely have to write this out:
First of all, I love this cover:
Tumblr media
The thing that caught my eye: “you're grounded.”
Not the dramatic “you're fired” as if the motherfucker didn't raise that damn kid in his own damn house for YEARS.
(I know. I know. Bar on the ground, but what would you?)
Also, the anger palpable on Bruce's face and Dick's absolute disregard for it. I'm laughing here y'all. This is what teenagers act like. This is what fights between parents and children look like.
Also. Dick Grayson, I've been missing. You're back from war!
Tumblr media
I love how curt he is. The “Get lost” hits in all the right places. We love a strongly-principled character that stands for what he believes in. With all the lukewarm Dick Grayson writing floating around I felt like walking into a coffee shop while it's snowing outside.
More of this writing, please.
Tumblr media
I'd been waiting for this moment all through this series.
Tumblr media
This conversation.
I compare things all the time. It might not be the right thing in every field but I think it serves well when it comes to comic books. We all have personal “canon criteria”—for example, mine are “Darwyn Cooke wrote this Bruce so I'm taking it as valid characterisation ” or “Every version of Bruce played by Kevin Conroy is valid”. (Minus Bruce Timm bullshit!)
Which was what cinched my hatred for Bruce after reading a Robin short story that Cooke wrote and alluded to Robin: Year One in it. I mean, I might not fuck with Dixon, but am I going to call even Cooke's Bruce OOC? No. It means Bruce is a jerk. Full stop.
Waid is one of the writers I respect (excluding Kingdom Come. I hate it and I can't put my finger on the why. But I just do: I hate it. I hate it for Clark. I hate it for Diana. And I'm a professional Bruce-hater so let's not even go there. I hate it for Dick too.)
And Dick and Bruce's relationship has a lot of baggage from the fact that a) Bruce is himself traumatised and fails to meet Dick's emotional needs b) he wasn't ready to be a father when he adopted Dick c) Dick simply suffers from being the eldest—the test child.
And very rarely have I seen writers manage to walk on the thin line of complicated-but-dedicated-and-strong.
Young Justice cartoon did it. Dick and Bruce's relationship is going strong. But they fight and have different values. And Dick can see all that is wrong with Bruce's approach to vigilantism in particular and life in general.
Grimm (Legends of the Dark Knight #149-154) did it right. Where Bruce hurt Dick deeply and made him feel unwanted all the while overthinking about Dick's well-being. Way to go, buddy! You can see the repercussions it has for Dick while simultaneously stare at this man who's tying himself into knots trying to think how best to parent.
I think that's what most Bruce and Dick comics miss: the excessive worrying. They don't show the worry, make them fight for drama, never address it apart from throwing out a “it's because Bruce's worried” (bitch, where?) and have Dick running back to Gotham at the first chance. It sounds an awful lot like “your parents hurt you 'cause they love you” bullshit.
I think World's Finest manages it well because foremost, Bruce says, in words, that he's worried about Dick's well-being. He's taciturn, he's putting constant pressure on Dick all in the hopes of making him quit Titans. All this makes him a jerk. But I don't hate him for it.
It's between Dick's “you don't trust me” and Bruce's “no, I don't trust them.”
Tumblr media
Most teenagers clash with their parents. It's normal. That's what Waid has shown here and I love it. It feels very—normal?
Especially when the Bats aren't normal! Bruce sure as fuck ain't a normal parent. But there was something very bitter-sweet coming-of-age in this conversation.
Bruce does all those things that are bad for Dick and his growing independence. You're not supposed to handle teenagers like that.
He's worried and taking desperate measures. “If I punish him, then maybe he'll obey me and quit Titans and then he'll he safe”—lots of parents who don't know how to deal with teenagers do it.
But the sequence of it: Bruce is worried → Bruce wants Dick to quit Titans → for Dick it means proving himself to be better, to not get hurt (as if he can control that beyond a certain point) → Bruce being alarmed at Dick's insistence to stay with the Titans and taking desperate measures like benching him.
At least it makes sense.
Compare it to Dixon's Nightwing origin story, which honestly, personally I think was lazy writing. Drama for drama's sake. “You’re fired because you're spending too much time with the Titans.” The same writer also had Bruce say that he did it because he wanted Dick to strike out on his own. Blah, blah, blah.
And no matter whatever happens he'd never ever say it to Dick's face that he's worried about him because—well, reasons.
Robin: Year One logic:
I'm worried about Dick's health so I fire him. He runs off and can get hurt? He joins a school for assasins? None of my business. He can get hurt on his own, I don't care as long as it is not on my conscience. Peace.
—Bruce “professional narcissist” Wayne.
So, yes. When faced with this book(WF: TT), I'd call Dixon's writing lazy.
I'm also comparing this to several other instances when Bruce verbally says (never to Dick, mind you) that he loves that Dick's a better person and better vigilante than him. But in the same book he'd yell at Dick for exactly the same thing. (I consider that lazy writing, since BTAS made sure to show a shot of Bruce smiling whenever Dick was happy/not like him).
I like this thing here where he says it to Dick's face. He's still grounding him for “discipline's sake” or whatever—very, very IC for Bruce.
But he also lets Dick know that he appreciates his values, that are different—better—than Bruce's own.
I can stomach that.
Honestly Bruce's writing in this book felt like BtAS writing (pre-Bruce Timm fuckery). That's a compliment.
P.S. Waid's a good story-teller overall. His Superman: Birthright was one of the first Superman comics I read and I fell in love with Clark right away.
Peace ✌️😂

A Complete Family (Suguru Geto x Fem Reader)
Hello everyone! This is a super fluff filled story, and I enjoyed writing this so much! I hope you enjoy!
Synopsis: Suguru and his wife Y/N have been struggling with infertility for the past few years. After coming to a wonderful decision, they adopt two beautiful girls, Mimiko and Nanako.
Contains: PURE FLUFF
Tumblr media
Suguru Geto and Y/N had been together for five years, their love growing stronger with each passing day. Their bond was unbreakable, and they had faced numerous challenges together, but nothing had prepared them for the heartbreak they were enduring. Y/N had always dreamed of being a mother, but after numerous negative pregnancy tests and failed attempts at IVF, it became clear that she couldn't carry children of her own.
One evening, as the sun set over the city, Suguru approached Y/N with a determined look in his eyes. He could see the pain in her eyes, the longing to be a mother, and he couldn't bear to see her suffer any longer.
"Y/N," Suguru began gently, taking her hand in his. "I've been thinking. I know how much you want to be a mother, and I want to make that dream come true for you. We've tried everything, but maybe it's time we consider the next best thing."
Y/N looked at him, her eyes brimming with hope. "What do you mean, Suguru?"
Suguru took a deep breath. "I mean adoption. We could provide a loving home for a child who needs one. We have so much love to give, and I believe that we can make a difference in a child's life."
Tears welled up in Y/N's eyes as she nodded. She knew that adoption was a beautiful way to build a family, and she was touched by Suguru's willingness to explore this option.
Over the next few months, they embarked on the lengthy and emotional journey of adoption. They filled out countless forms, underwent background checks, and attended parenting classes. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, with moments of frustration and doubt, but their love for each other and their shared dream of becoming parents kept them going.
Nearly a year later, they received the long-awaited call from the adoption agency. There were two little girls in need of a loving home, five year old twin sisters named Mimiko and Nanako. Without hesitation, Suguru and Y/N agreed to meet them.
The day they met the twin girls was a day they would never forget. Mimiko and Nanako were shy at first, but their smiles were infectious. The girls had been through their own share of challenges, but their eyes held a spark of hope.
Suguru and Y/N spent the day with Mimiko and Nanako, getting to know them, playing games, and sharing stories. It was a day filled with laughter, tears, and the warmth of a newfound family. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Suguru and Y/N knew that they had found their daughters.
The adoption papers were officially signed, and Mimiko and Nanako became a part of their loving family. The joy and happiness they brought into Suguru and Y/N's lives were immeasurable. The house echoed with laughter and the pitter-patter of tiny feet, and the heartbreak of the past was replaced with the hope and promise of the future.
Suguru and Y/N had discovered that family was not solely defined by blood but by the love, care, and commitment they had for one another. They realized that their journey to parenthood had led them to the most beautiful destination of all—the love of two incredible twin girls who had filled their lives with immeasurable joy.
After a few months of settling in with the girls and adjusting to the life of now a completed family of four, things had been pretty busy around the Geto residence.
Y/N had just returned from a busy day of grocery shopping, her arms filled with bags of fresh produce and other household essentials. As she approached her front door, she couldn't help but smile at the sounds of giggles and laughter on the other side.
Opening the door, she stepped into their cozy living room, which was washed in the soft glow of the afternoon sun. And there they were, in the heart of their home, Suguru Geto, her husband, and their two adorable adopted daughters, Mimiko and Nanako.
Y/N's heart swelled with love as she watched the scene before her. Mimiko and Nanako had decided that today was the perfect day to pamper their beloved "Daddy" Suguru. Mimiko sat on the floor, cradling Suguru's head in her small lap, and with a look of intense concentration, she was braiding his dark hair with colorful ribbons. Nanako, sitting beside them, carefully painted Suguru's nails with an assortment of vibrant colors, her tiny hands focused on each stroke.
Suguru, the usually stoic and somewhat quiet man, looked surprisingly at ease. He glanced up from his position on the floor and met Y/N's eyes. His lips curved into a gentle, affectionate smile. "Hello, sweetheart," he greeted her warmly.
Y/N couldn't help but giggle at the sight. Her heart was full of gratitude for the family they had created. She set her bags on the table and walked over, kneeling down beside her daughters and giving them each a quick peck on the cheek. "What are you all up to today?" she asked, curiosity dancing in her eyes.
Mimiko beamed at her. "We're making Daddy pretty!" she exclaimed proudly, her small hands continuing to braid Suguru's hair with great determination.
Nanako, equally enthusiastic, added, "And we're making his nails beautiful, just like yours, Mommy!"
Y/N chuckled, ruffling their hair affectionately. "Well, you're doing an amazing job," she praised them. "Daddy does look quite handsome, and his nails are fabulous!"
Suguru smirked, tilting his head to give her a better view of his freshly painted nails. "I thought it was time for a makeover," he said, a playful glint in his eyes. "And who better to help me than these two little artists?"
As the girls continued their work, Y/N found herself completely captivated by the sight before her. She was overwhelmed with love for her family. In this cozy, sunny room filled with laughter and love, she knew she had found her own piece of heaven on Earth.
In that precious moment, Y/N couldn't have asked for more. She had a loving husband, Suguru, who had welcomed her into his life, along with their two beautiful daughters. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and moments like this made her heart swell with happiness. With a heart full of gratitude and a smile on her face, she leaned over and planted a loving kiss on Suguru's lips.
Their family was far from conventional, but it was perfect for them, and it was all they ever needed.

I know we all know already, but Shifu from Kung Fu Panda is a terrible father. He lets his first kid think that the only way to recieve praise and love is to excel and then when he can't achieve his ultimate aim, he just sort of shugs it off and looks disappointed, not realising that he has left his child with nothing. Then, he ignores his second kid and is so distant with her that she doesn't call him "dad" or even "father" - she calls him "master" (as Tai Lung also possibly did as a child). Man goes around adopting children and then messing them up.
Imagine how thrilled Tigress must have been when the man who had been teaching her the block game in the orphanage tells her he's taking her home with him, only to have him completely ignore her emotional connection with him once she's living with him and do the exact same thing with her that he did to his first kid, only without giving any love or validation to her as a child for doing well and therefore only stopping her from going down the same path as her predecessor by never having her feel like she deserved his perental affection in the first place.
Mr Ping, although still putting pressure on Po to take over the noodle shop, balances this expectation with enough love that Po feels bad about not doing so only because it will make his father slightly unhappy, not because he feels it means that he has failed as a son.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Kung Fu Panda (especially the first one) is about adoption and parental expectation but it almost refuses to fully delve into how bad Shifu is at both of these things

If it wouldn’t be too upsetting, I was wondering about an angsty counterpart to the “M6 meet the parents” post you made awhile ago. Maybe MC finally regains their memories of their parents, only to learn that said parents treated them horribly in some way or another.
The Arcana HCs: When MC remembers having bad parents
~ a lot of people struggle with reconciling a need for parental figures with bad memories of the people who failed to fill that role, and they're not alone. I hope this brings some comfort - brainrot ~
CW for angst, yelling, mentions of toxic parenting
-- to set the scene --
You'd always wondered what your family was or wasn't like. It's been years since your new start on life, and you're content in the family you've found with your beloved.
You did always wonder what the trigger point might be to catch a glimpse of what you used to have - maybe the dad you just passed in the street promising their kid "a treat, but only one, okay?" or maybe the snoozing toddler you saw being lovingly carried home on their mother's shoulder.
You didn't expect it to be the sound of an angry adult yelling at a child for crying outside the window.
Julian
Just as the memories and the yelling and the crying are about to become too much, you hear another familiar voice join in outside your window
You've been expecting Julian home any moment, and it sounds like he's finally here. And like he's ... talking to the kid?
He's speaking gently, and when you peek out the window he's crouching on the cobblestones between the two, using his pocket square to mop up the kid's tears and helping them blow their nose
You hear him say something about grown ups being ridiculous and people who yell doing it because they don't have anything helpful to say and the adult behind him flushes red while the child giggles
There's a moment where you think the grown up involved is about to yell at Julian instead, but one furious look from your beloved is all it takes for them to back off
When he finally makes it inside to take off his coat and greet you, he freezes as soon as he sees the look on your face
"MC? You look upset, my dear, are you hurt? What's wrong?"
Once you're able to tell him everything, you watch his face fall and waver between sadness for your pain and anger on your behalf
"MC ... you deserved to have someone look out for you, too."
He wraps you up in one of his all-encompassing hugs and holds you tight before putting his coat back on and pulling you out the door. It's time Mazelinka made you her honorary grandchild, too
Asra
They saw you tense up from the backroom before they heard what was happening outside
He was just going to take a peek at what was going on, but as soon as he realizes it's memory-related he springs into action
Immediately strides to the shop front, casts a soothing spell on both the people involved (with an added mild sedating effect on the angry adult), turns the shop sign to "closed", and locks the front door before hurrying back to check on you
They approach you cautiously, asking if you're in any pain, and then take you upstairs to snuggle while you work through it
He's not going to pressure you to talk, so he rubs his hands along your back and arms and tucks your head under chin while he asks a few gentle questions in case you need somewhere to start
They'd known that your relationship with your parents wasn't the best, but you had never gone into very much detail before
He's had his own parental difficulties, and he's still working through the hurt and resentment from their disappearance, but he never had to worry about their cruelty
They're quick to shut down any blame you place on yourself. They think you're the most deserving of love of anyone they know, and you definitely didn't deserve to be treated the way you were
Refuses to let go of you until you're repeating back his affirmations
The next time you see Aisha and Salim, they practically offer to adopt you
Nadia
She overheard it from outside the cafe you were sitting in too
She was already very disturbed from the cruelty she was witnessing, but when she saw that it was bothering you as well she stood straight up and sailed outside to deal with the problem
She doesn't need to use very many words. You watch in slight awe as she comes to stand next to the sobbing child and stare down the belligerent adult until their angry shouts turn into quiet apologies
Refuses to let them off the hook until they apologize to the child as well and vacate the premises. Makes sure the kid is safe before coming back and taking her seat again
Confused about why you're still upset when the issue's already been resolved
Shocked and deeply pained when you tell her what's going on. Will make sure that you're somewhere that feels safe to talk before continuing the conversation
She'll make sure all your needs are met before sitting you down with both your hands in hers and asking you to tell her as much as you're comfortable sharing
Hearing about what your parents were like gives her more perspective on her own. She knows that her own hurt is valid too, but your description puts her experience into a new perspective
Quick to tell you that, since you're marrying her, you're part of her family now
Will invite her parents and sisters back to Vesuvia to smother you with love and properly adopt you into the Satrinava family
Never tolerates shouting in her Palace again
Muriel
He started to freeze up a little himself when you passed by the loud situation on your way out of town
He remembers being that kid on the streets, getting yelled at by grown ups who only thought of him as a parasite in child form
He approaches slowly with the hopes of comforting the kid and finding a safe spot for them, accidentally scaring the grown up away in the process (he was frowning very deeply)
He can tell right away that you're not doing too great yourself, but he doesn't want to rush you so he gives the child a wildflower and makes sure they're safe before walking back home while holding your hand
He wants to make sure that you have the time and space to find the words you need, so he gets you situated in front of the fire and sits next to you with a project
Invites you into his lap as soon as you start to sniffle
Listens for as long as he needs to for you to say what you need. All he wants is for you to know that you're not alone anymore
He remembers what it was like to believe that he was unwanted and what a relief it was to learn the truth
He can't imagine how much it must hurt to go through the reverse
Will hold and comfort you for as long as you need it
He'll blush and need to pause a few times, but he'll tell you that he wants you to be part of his family now, both the family of his past and whatever family you find together in the future
Portia
She doesn't even notice that you're upset
She's too busy storming out of the Palace to where the shouting is happening on the bridge and outdoing the angry adult in both volume and fury. How dare they speak like that to a child!
The kid in question stops crying pretty quickly because they're too busy watching in awe as your beloved Portia verbally beats the adult into the ground
She pauses to give the kid a sweet smile and piece of candy before booting the grown up on their way and storming back inside
Continues to rant while she picks up what she dropped. No child deserves to be treated like that! Who does that adult think they are? If a kid is crying, they need comfort, not yelling! What kind of -
Somehow her passionate ranting is both validating and soothing, but even after you've calmed down a bit you still look upset enough for her to pause when she finally looks at you
"MC? What's wrong?"
Starts pacing and tugging at her hair halfway through your answer to keep herself contained and then hugs you so tightly you feel your ribs creak once you're finished talking
Takes five minutes to tell you how loved you are and how mad she is at your parents before bundling you out the door and into town
She's taking you to eat Mazelinka's soup and become her honorary grandchild. She's also threatening Ilya into becoming your adopted older brother (he doesn't need convincing)
Lucio
Genuinely doesn't think anything's out of the ordinary until he sees you becoming visibly upset
He figures that it must be the person getting obnoxious in a public place, so he flies in their face and tells them to shut up and get lost, they're being too loud and bothering his MC
Surprised when you show some compassion for the crying kid. What are you talking about, kids are there to be yelled at - wait - what do you mean they deserve to be treated gently? He wasn't!
... oh
Awkwardly throws the kid a sympathetic smile before pulling you somewhere less vulnerable to continue your conversation
The treatment you describe isn't foreign to him, but when he imagines it happening to you, someone he wants to protect, his perspective starts shifting and he works himself into a rage
Will suggest hunting down and beating up the yelling adult since he can't do it to your parents
Ultimately begins breaking down a little himself, because his need to protect child you from harm is throwing his own past self's need for safety into sharp relief and he doesn't know how to proceed
Ends up back at your living quarters with you and huddling down on the bed together with the dogs to work it out
It's going to be a long journey, but finding a piece of hurt from his past that lines up with yours gives both of you the courage to start the healing process together

Shelby Clan- A New Shelby Member
Tumblr media
While the men were away at war, YNs father died from a gunshot wound, but not only that her mother passed away from heartbreak. This caused YN to end up in care at the age of 14. Thankfully though that didn't last long though. Polly Gray decided to adopt the sweet, shy, quiet girl.
For the next next year, YN struggles to get close to Ada because of how loud she is, however Finn and YN get on well making YN feel comfortable. That all changes when Arthur, Tommy and John come home. YN finds it hard to fit into the loud rambunctious family. Now YN is 15 years old, she's still shy and quiet, nothing like her new family.
YN sits in the kitchen reading a book while the family tuck into their breakfast
"YN put that book down at the table" Polly scolds placing some food in front of her
"Sorry Polly" the shy girl says placing her book down making Finn laugh
"After breakfast I'd like you to head down to the market get us some more bread and milk"
"I'll send Isaiah with her" Tommy says. Out of all the Shelby's Tommy is the most protective of YN. They all are, but Tommy is the one who most protective
"She'll be fine Tommy"
"I'll still send Isaiah with her"
"YN eat up" Polly says again knowing there's not point arguing with Tommy because either way Isaiah will be going with YN.
"You cousins are protective of you aren't they" Isaiah says walking down the street with YN
"Adoptive cousins. And yes" YN quietly chuckles
"Got a new girl Isaiah!" a boy shouts towards the pair laughing. YN immediately lowers her head, looking at the floor
"Just ignore them"
"Oh come on. Why don't you share?" YN then feels a hand on her arm making her gasp
"Let her go" Isaiah says sternly
"Come on let's go, she's a Shelby" another guy says
"Yeah only adopted by then. She's just a sad little orphan. Forget it. Have her" Isaiah pulls YN away, instead of going to the market he takes her home knowing that she already has tears pricking her eyes.
Unfortunately for YN this guy doesn't leave her alone. She's subjected to being bullied at school and on the way home from school, but YN refuses to tell anyone what's going on. Polly can tell something is going on with her, she tries to talk to her, but YN pretends she's ok.
On the way home from school YN takes a short cut down by the canal
"Oi YN!" YN lifts her head up to see the same guys who have been bullying her since that day at the market. Her feet move quickly under her feet trying to get home as quick as possible "hang where do you think your going?" hands grab on her arms
"Please let me go"
"Haven't got your boyfriend here to help you now" the boy laughs
"Please don't hurt me" YN pulls away
"I think she needs a cool down don't you?" another boy chuckles
"No no please I can't swim" YN now yells with tears running down her face
"Aww what a shame" and with that YN is pushed into the cut. Slashing about and spluttering she tries to keep her head above water as best she can. Little do the boys know that Finn was playing down by the cut and saw the whole thing. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him and bursts into the betting shop where his brothers all are
"Tom" he breathes out catching everyone's attention "Tom it's YN. She's in the cut, she can't swim" Tommy look at John and Arthur signalling for them to follow him and Finn.
When they arrive they see a tired looking YN struggling to stay afloat while a group of boys are stood laughing. Tommy takes off his hat and wast coat jumping into the water without a thought
"You think this is fucking funny?!" Arthur yells walking over to the boys "your lucky your kids because if you weren't..."
"Arthur!" John yells "let's take you home to your parents" John and Arthur take the boys by their ears as Tommy pulls a shivering YN out of the water
"Let's get you home eh?"
"What the bloody hell happened!" Polly yells seeing YN with wet hair sat by the fire with a blanket around her shoulders
"YN has failed to tell us that she's being bullied at school. Today some of her classmates decided to push her into the cut. Thankfully Finn was there, came to get us"
"Where are your brothers?"
"Taking the idiots home" Polly then sighs
"Ok well let's get you into a warm bath" YN gives her adoptive mum a nod before following her.
Yes she's different from the Shelby's, but this only went to show how much they all see her as part of their family.

04 from the start ⸝⸝ library date (gone wrong)
tw. . . minor mentions of blood (again)
Tumblr media
beads of sweat (and perhaps tears) ran down your face as you stopped at the second floor of the library. while the ground floor was stockpiled with various books ranging from fiction to non fiction, the upper floor housed an idyllic study and reading space paired with a student-run coffee shop.
the air held an aromatic smell — smoky and earthy which complimented the overall rustic vibe of the place. although artifical, the books and plants that decorated the (what was once empty) shelves and rails suited the place too, capturing the classic academia aesthetic the council were going for. the perfect environment for talking shit about sampo (you're joking. you'd never do that to your best bud sampo... maybe).
unfortunately, you weren't in the mood for that right now because you swear — you were dying.
you wouldn't say you weren't athletic or anything but holy shit, with the way these stairs made you gasp and heave like you just ran a marathon, you'd start to think you were. like — couldn't the school at least afford those flat escalators used in airports and malls?
searching the area for your blonde 'boo-boo bear', you couldn't find him. ain't no way i just got played (dhmu im going home and never going to the library ever again- )
ah. never mind, he's at the table behind you. and man, did he look so cute when he was focused.
surprisingly, he was seated at a circular table a bit far from the others — your favourite spot. why? "so i can stalk geppie from afar obviously!" you once told your friends jokingly. in reality, it was for a totally different reason.
your eyes wandered back to the man in question. he was dead concentrated on his laptop, perhaps trying to fix the dumpter fire of a poster he produced. jaw tightening, he leaned backwards, an adorably annoyed sigh left him as he ran a hand through his messy, blonde locks which caused the silver necklace you gave him to jingle across his chest. god damn, he's so illegally fineeeee.
...but how'd he know that was you favourite spot?
"oh name? you alright?" he asked, finally noticing your struggling form against the railing.
why do i hear wedding bells?
"give me a sec... damn these stairs... im gunna manifest the downfall of whoever made them... " you huffed, shaking your fist like a senile old man.
"uh huh... i uh- wish you good luck on that," gepard replied, patting you on the shoulder stiffly. he's so awkward (i want him). "anyway, as promised, i have your favourite coffee at the table. let's start?"
"'course!" you cheered, thanking the man above for the absolute angel in front of you. but as you were about to grab your drink-
"well aren't we moving fast, huh?" you teased, "holding hands before marriage, geppie? technically not my hand but my wrist... but you know what i mean-"
"...why's your hand bloody?"
"h uh???"
looking down at your right hand, sure enough, it was covered in a liquid layer of crimson that dripped down your palm to your fingers. it seems you had clenched your hand too hard earlier when receiving gepard's text message in the music room, causing small punctures to appear on the palm of your hand.
"...woops?" you shrugged dismissively, "i'll ask a barista for a tissue or something- hey! where are we going? geppie?"
he looked... angry? kinda hot tho-
woah who said that??????
"the infirmary. you should at least wrap the cuts properly," he replied sternly, dragging you towards the exit of the library, your wrist still firmly in his hold. "plus," he started, "shouldn't we already be used to hand holding?"

MASTERLIST ⸝⸝ previous! ⸝⸝ next!
𑁤 sypnosis. despite claiming to be 'rizz master 3000' name has failed to ask out their crush and childhood best friend, gepard, for a few years (L). with this new wave of courage, will this lovestruck idiot be able to confess before gepard buys a house and adopts 3 cats and a bunny with someone else? (this is a joke. geppie will not be adopting 3 cats and a bunny).
notes. . . i actually planned to have this chapter be longer (more than 2x the length of this one) but it was getting too long :( so i apologise for the short chapter. next one will be the other half tho! (also written) so i hope you look forward to it <3 (edit: omg the fucking coffee?!?!?!)

You’re What? - A Kellex/Jessie Fleming Imagine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Request: I combined two here! First is kellex x adopted!daughter where R has a gf/bf and kellex get super protective of her and the second is R tells the team she has a gf and reveals it’s Jessie, enjoy!
“Mom?”
Kelley turned from where she was putting away laundry to see Y/N standing in the doorway.
 “Hey kiddo, what’s up?”
“Can I talk to you about something?” Y/N was wringing her hands nervously. Kelley immediately stood up straight and left the pile of laundry she was folding.
“Of course, come here,” Kelley climbed in bed and patted the spot beside her. Y/N joined her.
“How did you know…” Y/N said after a minute, “That you were… That you… That you didn’t like boys?” Kelley took a deep breath. She won’t lie, she knew this day would come. Y/N was getting older and it was only a matter of time before she started dating, but Kelley wanted to prolong the time she had left with her baby.
“Oh. Okay,” Kelley said, “Well, I always knew I didn’t feel the same way as the other girls did about boys. But I never knew there was another option until I went away to college and I met girls who were like me and who were happy. But it’s a personal journey for everyone. You might not always know, you might think you know then change your mind. But one thing is for certain.” Kelley nudged Y/N’s shoulder until she looked up. “I will always love you, no matter what.”
 “Okay,” Y/N said quietly.
“Do you wanna talk about something with me?” Kelley asked. Y/N shook her head. “Okay then you can help me finish this laundry before your Mama comes home and yells at us.”
 ***
Alex was surprised when Y/N asked if she could come grocery shopping with her. Y/N usually never wanted to come along, because Alex went on Saturday mornings and Y/N wanted to sleep in. But Alex wasn’t going to say no to company, especially if it meant more hands to carry the grocery bags.
Y/N was quiet on the car ride, despite Alex’s attempt at conversation. She didn’t even perk up when her favourite song played on the radio. Alex was worried but knew Y/N would open up when she wanted to.
“When did you start dating someone?”
Y/N’s question shocked Alex. Kelley had shared what Y/N had asked her the other day, but Alex wanted to play it off as simple curiosity. She didn’t want to think that Y/N was going to start dating someone.
“I was fourteen,” Alex finally said, “And he played on the school soccer team. We dated for a few months before we broke up when he plagiarized my English essay and we both failed the assignment.”
“When did you start… dating girls?”
“I,” Alex took a deep breath, “I had a brief… relationship in high school with a girl but I didn’t start seriously dating girls until I was older. It was hard for me to accept myself and be out because I didn’t have anyone in my life to look up to. I imagine it’s easier for kids now because there’s so many people who are out and happy.”
 “Like you and Mom?”
“Exactly,” Alex said, “Is there something that’s been bothering you?” Y/N shrugged, but didn’t answer. “Well, if there’s ever anything you know you can talk to me or your Mom about it, okay?”
 “Yeah.”
 ***
Kelley walked past Y/N’s room and heard voices.
“No, I haven’t heard,” Y/N said, “I’ll have to ask.” There’s a beat of silence, then: “They probably will, I mean I normally do… No I didn’t… What am I supposed to say? They’d never let me leave the house if they knew.”
Kelley’s hackles instantly rise. What was Y/N plotting? She wanted to know so badly who Y/N was speaking to, so she could know who to scare away before they made Y/N do something rebellious.
“And it’s not like you’ve told anyone,” Y/N said, then she giggled. Kelley had heard many kinds of Y/N’s laughter. A snort at Sonnett’s stupid puns, a chuckle at a TV show, a full belly laugh when Kelley tripped over a rock in a parking lot. She didn’t know Y/N knew how to giggle.
“Stop it,” Another giggle, “I have to go, it’s almost time for dinner. No! Stop, I’ll call you later. Bye.”
Kelley rushed quietly from the hallway, knowing Y/N was probably going to come out for dinner and not wanting her to know Kelley had been eavesdropping. For the first time in a long time, Kelley had no idea what was going on with her child.
 ***
“Are you sure you still want to come to camp with us?” Alex asked. Y/N nodded. “You don’t have to, I know it’s probably not as much fun now that you’re older. There isn’t going to be any kids your age there.”
“Canada’s staying in the same hotel,” Kelley said, “That Fleming kid is going to be there. You’re alright hanging out with her right?” Y/N nodded, turning away so her moms won’t see her blush.
“Oh you’re right,” Alex said, “Well if you’re sure you wanna come with, we’d definitely enjoy having you there.”
“Yeah, so we can cuddle and snuggle you whenever we want,” Kelley grabbed Y/N and hugged her close, kissing her face while Y/N laughed and tried to squirm away.
“Oh let her go,” Alex said, prying Kelley off Y/N, “It’s my turn.” Then Alex grabbed Y/N and squeezed her tight, rocking back and forth.
“Okay okay we get it, you love me, let’s just go to the airport before I die of embarrassment.”
 ***
When they arrived at the hotel, there was a group of Canada players already in the lobby, Jessie Fleming among them. As soon as Kelley saw them, she grabbed Y/N’s arm and dragged her over.
“Hey! Great to see you all again,” Kelley said, “I just wanted to introduce Y/N to Jessie, since they’re the only teens here.” Kelley pushed Y/N forward.
 “Um, hi,” Y/N said.
 “Hi,” Jessie said back.
“Great! I’ll let you two chat while me and your Mama check in, okay?”
Before Y/N could say anything, Kelley was gone. The Canadian players moved away as well, leaving the two teens along. As soon as everyone was out of earshot, the two burst into laughter.
“You could’ve at least told her we knew each other,” Jessie said.
“I didn’t know she was going to do that,” Y/N said.
In all honesty, Y/N didn’t tell her moms the real reason she wanted to come with them to camp. She wanted to come just to see Jessie. No one knew except them but they were sort of maybe dating. Y/N was really happy, she was nervous of course, about how her moms would react, how their teams would react, but mostly she really liked Jessie. Everything was still new, they met a few months earlier when Canada and the US played a friendly and both Y/N and Jessie were there. They didn’t really try to be sneaky then, it just happened that whenever they saw each other, no one else was around, but the last night before they flew home they snuck out on purpose. They hid in the stairwell talking and when Y/N had to sneak back into her room before her moms woke up, Jessie had kissed her and they’ve been dating ever since.
“Well at least we won’t have to sneak around,” Jessie said.
“Yeah for now, but like…” Y/N looked at the ground and blushed.
 “But like?”
“Well… maybe I wanna kiss you and stuff,” Y/N mumbled.
“That’s good, because I wanna kiss you and stuff,” Jessie said quietly back.
Y/N moved subtly closer until her pinky brushed the back of Jessie’s hand. They were both smiling shyly at each other. Y/N jumped when a hand clapped onto her shoulder.
“Got our room keys!” Kelley said, holding three room keys in her hand, “I’m glad to see you two getting along, but we should go unpack. I’ll see you around Jessie.”
 “Bye,” Y/N said.
 “Bye,” Jessie replied.
 ***
The next day after both teams were done practicing, the teams decided to take advantage of the nearly empty hotel and the free large conference room they hotel reserved for them. Kelley and Alex were getting ready in their room while Y/N lounged on the bed.
“Are you sure you don’t want one of us to stay?” Kelley asked, “We don’t know how long we’ll be gone.”
 “It’s okay,” Y/N said.
“Are you sure? We don’t want you getting bored.”
“I’m okay,” Y/N hadn’t looked up at them at all, instead looking down at her phone.
“Who are you texting that’s so important you can’t look at me when I’m talking to you?” Kelley asked. Y/N looked up sheepishly.
“Sorry,” She said, “It’s just Jessie. She’s not going tonight either. She’s sixteen so… also can’t drink. Is it okay if I go hang out in her room while you’re gone?”
“Of course!” Alex yelled from the bathroom, “We think that’s a great idea, just try and be in bed by 11 okay?”
 “Okay Mama,” Y/N said.
“If you promise to get at least six hours of sleep tonight,” Kelley said, “You can spend the night in her room.” Kelley winked at Y/N. For a moment, Y/N was terrified that her Mom knew. Then she realized if her Mom knew, she wouldn’t be letting Y/N spend the night with her unsupervised.
“Okay,” Alex said, coming out of the bathroom. “You know where we’ll be and call us if you need us, okay?” Y/N nodded. “I love you,” Alex kissed Y/N on the forehead.
 “Love you too.”
“And I love you three,” Kelley said. She gave Y/N a hug, “Be good,” She said.
Y/N waited a few minutes after her moms left before she left and headed to Jessie’s room. Jessie had already told her that her roommate had left so they had uninterrupted alone time for a few hours. Y/N knocked on Jessie’s door and grinned when Jessie let her in. They sat down side by side on Jessie’s bed.
“So what did you want to do?” Jessie asked.
“Well,” Y/N bit her lip and let her hand slide over Jessie’s, “I missed you.”
 “I missed you too.”
 “And I thought that maybe… since we’re alone… we could… you know…”
“Yeah?” Jessie said, shifting closer. Y/N nodded. “I would like that.”
 “Yeah?”
 “Yeah.”
Y/N let her eyes slip shut when Jessie’s face moved closer to hers, their hands tangled together between them.
 ***
“And then we scrimmaged,” Jessie said.
They were laying in Jessie’s bed, Y/N with her head on Jessie’s shoulder and their hands raised above them, their fingers tangling together. They had kissed a bit (a lot) and now they were cuddling while Jessie told Y/N all about her day.
 “And I scored,” Jessie said.
“You did?” Y/N said, “That’s so amazing, baby.”
“Baby?” Jessie questioned. Y/N blushed and hid her face in Jessie’s neck. “Noooo, don’t be embarrassed, I like it, it’s cute.”
 “You’re cute,” Y/N mumbled.
 “You’re cuter.”
Y/N lifted her head to stick her tongue out at Jessie. Jessie just laughed and Y/N couldn’t help but kiss her again. They were so distracted, they didn’t hear the door open.
“Whoopsies!” Janine said loudly, “Didn’t realize you had company.”
The two sprang apart. Y/N watched Janine’s eyes widen when they made eye contact.
“Oh,” Janine said, “Jessie you dog!” Jessie groaned.
 “Janine please–”
“I’m proud of you! I didn’t think you had it in you to bag Kellex’s kid, but I was wrong clearly,” Janine said, “I can leave if you two want privacy.”
“No!” Jessie said loudly. Janine blinked.
“No one knows yet,” Y/N said quickly. Janine nodded understandingly.
“I see, well your secret’s safe with me,” Janine zipped her lips, “But since we’re all here, can I give Y/N the best friend speech or is this not the right time? And I do need to say, Jessie, no way you’re switching alliances ‘kay? You can do whatever you want when I’m not here but Jessie we still hate the Americans.”
 “You’re American,” Y/N pointed out.
“Eh,” Janine waved her hand, “Legally maybe. But not in spirit.”
Y/N couldn’t help but laugh, and soon Jessie and Janine joined in. After Janine changed out of her party clothes, she laid on her bed and the three turned on the only TV channel the hotel had. Y/N had to admit, it felt really nice to be able to open with someone, to not have to hide the fact that Jessie Fleming was her girlfriend. Maybe she needed to tell her moms.
“Jess?” Y/N whispered after Janine fell asleep. Jessie hummed in response. “I think I wanna tell my moms about us, if that’s okay.” Jessie nodded.
“Yeah, I’ve been thinking maybe I should tell my parents too.”
“Okay,” Y/N whispered, “I’ll tell them in the morning, then we don’t have to sneak around so much.”
“It’s gonna be okay,” Jessie said.
 ***
“How was your night with Jessie?” Alex asked.
“Good,” Y/N said. Alex handed Kelley a water bottle which Kelley took with a slight groan. Y/N should’ve expected her Mom to get a little too drunk and wake up feeling a little worse for wear. “Actually,” Y/N said. Her moms both look at her. “I wanted to talk to you guys about her.”
“Why? Did something happen?” Kelley sat up, despite her earlier protests that her head hurt too much to move. “If she upset you in some way I will have words, no one hurts my baby.”
 “No!” Y/N interrupted quickly, “It’s nothing like that. I just… I wanted to tell you both that she’s kinda… We’re kinda… dating.”
 “You’re what?”
 “Dating?” Y/N squeaked out.
“I didn’t say you could start dating,” Kelley said, “You’re still a baby, she’s way too old for you.”
“She’s only a year older than me!”
 “That’s too old!”
 “Mom!”
“And what did you do last night? I can’t believe we let you stay overnight with her, you are not allowed to be alone with her anymore,” Kelley said, “You’re too young for sex, you’re too young for dating.”
“Nothing happened last night!” Y/N said, “We were just talking!”
 “Oh sure ‘just talking’.”
“Her roommate was there! We just watched TV and talked, god Mom I’m not stupid.”
“Kelley,” Alex said before Kelley could say anything else, “Let’s be adults about this. Y/N, how long has this been going on?”
“Just a few months,” Y/N said, “Since the last camp we were both at.”
“And do you like her?” Alex asked. Y/N nods emphatically.
“If she hurts you I’ll kill her,” Kelley said, “She’ll never play soccer again I can promise that.”
 “Kelley!”
 “Mom!”
 “No one hurts my baby.”
“Look,” Alex put her hands on Y/N’s shoulder and looked into her eyes, “We just want you to be happy and if she makes you happy then we’re happy. Right Kel?” Kelley stubbornly glared at the wall. “Right Kel?”
“Fine,” Kelley said, “We’re happy. But that doesn’t mean we’re not going to scare the ever living shi–”
“We’d like to meet her and get to know her,” Alex interrupted.
“I think she’d like that,” Y/N says nervously, worried about whether her moms will scare her girlfriend off.
 ***
“So,” Kelley started, “Jessie, tell me about yourself.”
The four of them, Kelley, Alex, Y/N, and Jessie, were out to dinner. Kelley and Alex arranged it, all Y/N and Jessie had to do was show up. Y/N was sweating, nervous about how her moms would act and how Jessie would respond. Y/N wouldn’t know what to do if her moms didn’t like her girlfriend or if her girlfriend didn’t like her parents.
“Well, I’m sixteen, I’m from London, Ontario, but I’m currently living in BC. I have an older brother and a younger sister. I play soccer, well,” Jessie blushed, “You already knew that.”
“And do you have any future plans?” Kelley asked.
“Oh, uh, yeah, well I’m planning on going to college. I haven’t committed yet but I’ve been looking into UCLA and I think I’ll uh, take some kind of engineering. But obviously, going pro is the goal.”
“What if Y/N decides to go to school elsewhere? How long will you want to do long distance? What about after your soccer career ends? What about–”
“Mom!” Y/N hissed, “Mama, tell her to stop.”
“Kelley,” Alex said. Kelley leaned back in her chair. “I would like to know your intentions with my daughter.”
 “Mama!”
“Well, I really like her,” Jessie said.
 “Just like?”
“Well, it’s not that… I mean, we’ve only been dating a few months and–”
“That’s such a short period of time, how can we know you’re serious about her?”
 “I just meant–”
“I’m not going to sit here and watch you break my daughter’s heart.”
 “I–”
“Mom! Mama!” Y/N snapped, “Stop it!” Her throat felt tight and she felt tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. “You’re supposed to be getting to know her not interrogating her! Why can’t you just trust me?!”
Y/N stood up and stormed away from the table, wiping her eyes furiously. She ignored the calls that followed her, focusing on getting away from the situation. Part of her felt bad for leaving Jessie alone with her parents but she needed to get away. Y/N slammed the stall door in the bathroom and locked it, locking herself away from everything. She leaned against the wall and tried to get her breathing under control.
“Y/N?” Alex voice sounded, “Baby? What’s going on? Please open the door.” Y/N ignored her.
“Y/N, come on, open the door,” Kelley this time, “Let’s talk about this.” Y/N ignored her too.
For a few minutes, Kelley and Alex tried, and failed, to convince Y/N to come out of the stall. Y/N didn’t want to face her moms, after how they acted. She was angry, she was embarrassed, and she was stressed. What if Jessie didn’t want to be with her anymore after that?
“What are you doing here?” Kelley’s voice had hardened. It was clear she wasn’t talking to Y/N.
“I just came to talk to Y/N.” Jessie.
 “Well, we’re fine here.”
“Kel,” Alex said, “Just let her talk.”
“Y/N,” Jessie said, having moved closer to the door, “I know you’re upset and I would be too, but your moms just love you and I… They’re just trying to look out for you. They didn’t mean to hurt you and you don’t have to worry. Nothing they can say to me is going to make me run away. I meant it when I said I really like you, and I’d go through a hundred interrogations if it meant I still got to be with you.”
Y/N shyly opened the door, just enough to stick her head out so she could look at Jessie.
 “You mean it?”
“Of course I do,” Jessie said.
Y/N came out of the stall and let herself fall into Jessie’s arms. After a moment, and with one arm still around Jessie, she reached out to her moms, who came closer to join the group hug.
“Let’s go back to the hotel,” Alex said. Everyone agreed.
The walk back was quiet, with Y/N and Jessie walking together behind Kelley and Alex. Kelley and Alex were whispering together about something and Y/N, honestly, didn’t care to find out what it was. When they reached the hotel, they lingered in the hallway. Y/N was nervous about what would happen when they leave Jessie. Then, Kelley turned around and put her hand on Jessie’s shoulder.
“I won’t lie, I didn’t like you when tonight started,” Kelley started. Y/N rolled her eyes. “But then I saw how you handled what happened earlier and how much you clearly care about my daughter. And how much she clearly cares for you. So, all I want to say is that I like you kid.” Alex cleared her throat. “Okay, and I’m sorry for how I acted.”
“We just want Y/N to be happy,” Alex said, “And we’re happy that it’s you who makes her happy.” Y/N grinned.
 “So you approve?” She asked.
“Yes,” Kelley and Alex said together.
Y/N turned to Jessie, who turned to her, and the two embraced and then Y/N nuzzled her nose against Jessie’s and then leaned in to kiss her gently.
“Okay don’t get ahead of yourselves now, we’re still your mothers,” Kelley said, separating Y/N from Jessie. Y/N giggled. “Okay that’s enough say goodnight to your girlfriend and lets leave before I change my mind and forbid you from dating until you’re 35.”

Tenjiku x Hellsing! Fem reader
Tumblr media
The Haitani brothers snuck out once more from the home of their 'mother' late night to attend another Tenjiku meeting, without the knowledge of anyone on the premises, "You think we'll get in trouble?" Rindou asked his older brother "Not if we get back before the sun comes up" Ran replied as they walked away from the mansion.
"Y/N! Where are your brothers?!" Integra asked her daughter "I don't know mum, they must have snuck out" Y/n Hellsing replied "Well find them, now" Integra said sternly "But they're not my responsibility" Y/n protested "I don't care, find them, unless you're gonna lose a lot of privileges" Integra said "Like what?" " Shopping, money, access to MY servants" Integra said "Fine, I'll go, come on Seras" Y/n said "By yourself, find them by yourself Y/n" Integra added "But mum, they could be anywhere" "So find them, they're your brothers after all".
Y/n walked around the streets of Yokohama looking for her adopted brothers while grumbling to herself "This is completely unfair, I thought Rindou was more responsible, I mean I expected this from Ran, but not Rin". She walked around more before spotting some people in red outfits and she walked towards them. Upon arriving she noticed two figures in black, standing out among the rest "Those fuckers" she grumbled as she walked towards them, pushing past a number of Tenjiku members which drew the attention of the brothers, Izana and the other heavenly kings. She walked straight up to Ran with a frown "Y/n-chan, hey" he greeted with a smile before being pulled down by one of his braids "Don't 'Y/n-chan' me, do you have any idea what I went through?! Do you know how many privileges I would have lost because of you two?!" she yelled before turning to Rindou who tried to sneak away "Don't fucking move" she said enraged and Rindou sat down on the floor. She tugged him by the ear and tugged Ran by the braid and began walking away "You have alot of explaining to do when we get home" she said "Who the fuck are you? What the hell do you think you're doing?" Izana asked, obviously irritated "Huh? Who the hell are you?" Y/n asked "The leader of those two idiots, put them back" Izana replied "I think the fuck not". Izana walked up to her and said "I'm not afraid to hit a girl" "Is that so?" Y/n replied sarcastically "Um, Izana, I don't think that's a good idea, maybe you should just let her be" Rindou stated nervously "Why would I listen to you? This bitch doesn't... " half way through his sentence, he felt a strong kick towards his jaw sending him flying up. "I don't have time for this bullshit, you two idiots, let's go" Y/n said and started walking away "Yes ma'am" the brothers immediately followed behind her.
After a series of explaining and apologies to their mother the two brothers were free to go back to their meeting. With Y/n of course. The meeting still continued when they arrived and Y/n settled beside them then lit a cigar.
(^The rich kind that our queen Integra smoked. Like mother like daughter right there^)
The Tenjiku members stared at her in awe, finding it very impressive yet strange that she smoked a cigar, but also by her appearance, she had long straight silver hair and blue eyes. After the meeting adjourned, the members left, leaving just the heavenly king and a pissed Izana who tried to get revenge but failed miserably which led to the female sitting on his back with her legs crossed as she continued to smoke her cigar "Woah, you actually defeated Izana" Shion stared in admiration "Twice" Mochi added briefly "Who are you, miss?" Kakucho asked "Hellsing Y/n, remember that name till you fucking die, I'm the sister of these idiots" Y/n said as she pointed at the Haitani brothers "Sister?!" they all yelled in unison "They're adopted though" she added "How?" Kakucho asked "Well... " Y/n began talking before she felt Izana trying to get back up and hit him on the head which caused a tick mark to appear on his temple. "My mum pitied them" "Mum didn't pity us, she liked us" Rindou said "Are you on drugs?" Y/n asked "I literally asked her to take you two fuck faces in and you make me regret that decision sometimes, like now" "But if they're adopted, how is their last name not Hellsing? even though that's a weird name" Mochi asked "They decided to keep their last name, also I'm half English that's why the name is weird to you, my dad was from Japan and my mum was from London and they had a half English half Japanese kid, me, I took my mum's last name" Y/n explained "Did they teach you how to fight?" Shion asked referring to the brothers "Nope, I won't let shit from these dumbasses" "We can hear you" Ran said "Good, my mum was a general back in London, she led the army, so she taught me how to fight, she even taught me how to use a gun" "Your mum sounds cool" Kakucho stated "She is".
"Get off me bitch" Izana said "Ask nicely" Y/n said mockingly "No" "I have no problem with that". Izana let out a deep sigh "Please get off me" he said in a quiet voice "I didn't quite catch that" she said teasingly "Please get off!" Izana said much louder. Y/n laughed and got off him, she helped him get up and dusted him off "Sorry about that kick earlier, if you wanna blame anyone, blame them, they caused all this" Y/n said as she pointed at Ran and Rindou "But, I was forced to sneak out, he dragged me" Rindou said while pointing an accusing finger at Ran who was left dumbfounded. Y/n watched as Izana chased the two around and laughed at the chaos.

what's it? fluff, suggestive by the end
allergen warnings? none, other than it being suggestive by the end
sugar level? 1.9k
regulars? @tokyometronetwork @tahonet
parlor's note? YEAHHHH I LOVE WRITING FOR THIS AU. i changed the cat's name from button to koun which translates to good fortune in japanese, i got the idea from @marshiluc, so thank you so much!!
bon appetit!
Tumblr media
"kento, are you still looking for something new to cook?" you asked your husband as you looked out of the window -- the view reminded you of something delightful and a smile automatically crept up to your face. while it wasn't often that it rained in japan during february, precipitation usually fell as snow, it was storming today -- thankfully you didn't have work that day, as it would be a pain to take the bullet train in such weather.
"yes," your boyfriend hummed, closing the book he was reading and sliding in the cat bookmark you bought him. "why? have you thought of anything?" there was genuine curiosity in his voice as he asked you the question.
nanami followed a rough schedule for what he was going to cook everyday. there were times where it wasn't followed, usually during special occasions where he would whip up your favorite food instead, but still, nanami wanted to do something new. he looked to you for advice, asking if there was a dish in particular that you wanted him to cook. you couldn't think of any though, truthfully, even though it could be thought of as repetitive, you just really enjoyed nanami's cooking. you did not mind in the least, he made everything taste good. but now, you remembered something.
"it's been about a year since we got koun, we should bake her a birthday cake!"
just as the words left your mouth, the cat walked into the room and rubbed itself on nanami's pajama pants making its presence known. "that's a nice idea." he nodded, picking up the feline begging for his attention, "isn't that right, koun?" the cat was now placed on his lap and was purring happily as he pet its head.
no matter how many times you see nanami interacting with the cat cutely, you never fail to coo at them. it was just way too cute! especially when you realize that nanami was very much against having any sort of pets in the beginning. and even when you first introduced him to koun, he told you that it was not allowed to sleep beside you in the bed, but precisely a week after you adopted the kitty, you caught him trying to hide the kitten in the bedsheets. "it's quite cold and she was mewling while pawing at our bed." he quietly reasoned with you, roughly translating to i am whipped and i want the adorable cat in our bed, where she belongs.
it took everything you had in you to not say i told you so.
your boyfriend retrieved his phone from the coffee table in front of him, careful not to disturb the creature on his lap that is now busy making biscuits, kneading the thick off-white blanket on nanami's lap. "i'll look for some recipes now, after all, i was planning to go grocery shopping tomorrow."
.
nanami shook his umbrella lightly, before carefully putting it on the stand you had right beside the front door. "tadaima, darling!"
the utterance of the phrase gave him a bittersweet flash of nostalgia to the times where he was the one who worked the crazy nine to five between the two of you. he formely thought that there was nothing he was going to miss about going to work, but you proved him wrong when you rushed to where he is and damn-near tackled him into a hug. "okaeri, kenny!" seeing your face light up when he announced his arrival after a long day of work was something he dearly missed.
"how was the trip? did you get everything you need?" to nanami's relief, it was no longer raining. instead, there was only a light sprinkling of snow. it was easy for him to navigate. he still carried an umbrella with him though, he was not too fond of getting snow in his hair. while you always cooed at him and pressed a bit more kisses on his face because for a reason he cannot understand, you find it an endearing look on him, it was no fun when it started to melt onto his head. it was just a cold mess.
"i did, including the things we will need for koun's birthday cake."
he put down the plastic bags that held all the groceries which you quickly picked up and stored into the cupboards. you heard the leathery crinkle, the sound of him shrugging off his coat and hanging it onto the coat rack. "let me just warm up with a bath, then we can make koun her cake, alright darling?"
you strolled back into his field of vision, the single eyebrow raise you had on your face told him you were up to no good. "you sure i can't help you warm up in other ways, kento?"
your question made him laugh and shake his head. "it's koun's birthday, hun. we can have fun later when she's asleep." to which you pumped your fist into the air with exaggerated excitement "yes!"
x
koun is a calm kitten. although she had her hyper moments like most animals, she was more than happy to sit in her relocated bed in the living room - since she slept in your bed during the evenings now - and watch her favorite cartoon show bluey.
that was the case right now. she was laying on the grey plush cat bed, covered by a deep maroon fleece blanket with bright white cat patterns. bluey was playing on the tv on low volume while koun cuddled her sock monkey. she was okay by herself and did not fuss. it left you and nanami to go to work in the kitchen.
"let me see," it comes out as a gruff rumble from his chest. "you have to preheat the oven to three fifty, we already did that." he scrolled on his phone, reading for the next step. "then spray two muffin tins with cooking spray."
he raised his head from the hunch he was at looking at his phone.
"on it!" you got the purple silicone bakeware and did what you were supposed to. "and after that?"
"you have to shred cheddar cheese until you have one eigth teaspoon." he fetched your grater, rolled up his sleeves and started doing so. "darling, can you please peel four shrimps for me?" he looked at you for a second before turning his attention back to his task.
you didn't move though, mesmerized by the action of nanami rolling up his sleeves. his perfect forearms now on show. your eyes couldn't help but trace the prominent veins that crawled from his steady hand, all the way up to his thick biceps. you involuntarily swallowed when you caught the way the sleeves of his light brown sweater molded itself against the well-built muscle, the one you would hold on to or even bite when he would fuck you so hard that the bed would slam against the adjacent wall and- "hun?"
you were interrupted from your daydream by nanami. his face right in front of yours now, a small smirk in place -- he was well-aware of your ogling, not that you made it secretive in any way. "we're baking a cake for koun, remember? we can have fun later." you didn't even realize you were biting your lip until nanami pulled your bottom lip from between your teeth with his thumb. "peel four shrimps for me please." he reminded you, chocolate tinted eyes smoldering. it left you no choice but to succumb, stuttering out a small "y-yeah."
you were still a bit dazed, taking a lot of time to do your task, so nanami proceeded to the next step - draining the tuna - which was easy enough. by the time he was done, you also were too. you informed him that you were going to boil them to cook.
while you were waiting for the saucepan where you laid the seafood in to boil, you and nanami combined the tuna, all purpose flour, egg white, and previously shredded cheese into a bowl. you mixed it all together until it was well combined, before using an ice cream scoop to put equal amounts into each dip in the muffin that you have greased earlier. after you've put it into the warm oven, you were set to wait for fifteen minutes until it completely baked. though that was not that much of a long time frame, you still found yourselves a bit bored. you regularly checked in on the shrimps until they were the signature - and appetizing - opaque orange and white color. he read you a few chapters of the new novel he picked up from the bookstore around the block until the timer rang. finally, you were able to take the cat cake out of the oven, yet you still had to wait a few minutes while it cooled outside of the oven.
and in that span of time, you were able to put the shrimp garnish on top of the cake and find a way to entertain yourself until it was warm enough to feed to koun. all it took was a glance at the frames at the wall and for a certain portrait to catch your eye; it was a photo from the first winter you spent with kento since you started sharing a house together; your first snow together.
his cheeks were pigmented with a dusty pink, all the way up to his ears, his head was resting on top of yours and his blonde hair that's usually styled neatly was disheveled, frostered white at the top with little bits of snow.
you smiled to yourself and got a big spoonful of the flour, then added in a small amount of water. you mixed it together to create a pale white paste that's thick and slow to drip.
"hey kento," you poured a bit onto your hands. "you like the way you look with some snow in your hair, right? but you hate it when it melts and your head feels cold?" he paid no attention to you, continuing to read his novel, sneaking peeks at your quiet kitty every now and then.
with a hand that striked like a whip, you threw the paste in his direction, angling your hand so it would land on top of his head.
he gasped in surprise, but he was quick to regain his composure. he reached up to touch the substance threw at him and studied it on his fingers, moving it around.
"darling," there was a warning tone in his bass voice and a more intense one in his stare when he looked at you. "you really are needy today, aren't you?" he started walking towards you.
the stare was giving you gave you chills, it sent shivers down your spine and elsewhere -- comparable to a predator stalking it's prey, yet you couldn't really be called that since you wanted it in the first place.
"k-ken, hey look, babe." you couldn't help but stumble a few steps back, chuckling nervously while you're at it.
"c'mon, let's have some of that fun you wanted while i clean up in the shower." he hoisted you up on his shoulder, laughing darkly at the yelp that left your mouth.

Hello, can I please request some of some romantic general polyamorous Hcs of Pigsy & Tang x Single mom reader? (Can it be when they were all young adults? Also Reader has a son who isn’t Mk)
Reader has a very Tiger mom parenting style, outside of being a mom reader has an assertive and sassy personality. Has good intentions though and can be genuinely nice.
I'm going to try my best to avoid the stereotype of the tiger mom trope(that being emotionally neglectful of the child). Sorry for not focusing on the romantic parts of the relationship, I thought it was more needed to focus on the parental relationships.
Support me here
Tumblr media
I want to say you met Pigsy before Tang met Pigsy, but you didn't start your relationship then. Pigsy and Tang start dating and you date another guy, become pregnant, and he leaves you when you are 5 months pregnant.
Considering you are a Tiger Mom, I'm going to assert that your job is either banking or business. Either way, you deal with new businesses that are either wanting a loan or wanting help with their start-up. That's how you end up reconnecting with Pigsy and meeting Tang.
I don't think you would be managing Pigsy's case, as it would be seen as you doing a favour for an old friend. I think you'd just see him come in for a meeting and you two catch up after his meeting. After that, you two end up becoming close again. You meet Tang, see that they are engaged, and Pigsy finds out about your child and failed relationship with your baby daddy.
I think in this situation, you put relationships on the back burner, but Pigsy and Tang would make it known to you and your child that if your child needs a place to be after school they'll watch them at the noodle shop. That's how I think you three end up becoming closer. I think it would take your kid calling Pigsy dad and Tang pop for either of your three to really consider dating.
Pigsy respects you wanting your child to focus on school, but does want you to be a little more open about letting them explore their passion. While Tang would help them with homework if ever needed. Pigsy and Tang follow your lead on how you parent your kid, but are maybe more relaxed about it.
I do think the two's feelings about parenting will change once Pigsy adopts MK though. They push for MK to follow his creative passions and suggest you to do the same for your own kid.

Hello, I've been around your blog for a while now and your work has been giving me so much joy. So is it okay to request for SFW and NSFW headcanons about G from khr? Hope you have a nice day and thank you so much :)
hii nonny! I'm so happy to hear that you've stuck around for so long, despite my inactivity + the shaky quality of my writing. It truly means a lot to me ;w; I have more sfw ideas than nsfw, but I hope you enjoy <3

G is textbook “guy with a face tattoo that is actually the sweetest person you’ll ever meet”. He’s the type to rescue animals from the streets and foster them until they find good homes. At his peak, he was housing three dogs and four or five cats, but he has a no-foster-fails policy for himself and uses his giant network of contacts to ensure they are all eventually adopted.
There are some petty grudges from his literal childhood that he has forgotten about but has not forgiven. It’s a weird phenomenon, on a few occasions he met a person at an event, and he just got the worst gut feeling of bitterness and deep-seated resentment. Strangely, he can’t even put his finger on why. Maybe they had a stupid schoolyard squabble when they were 7 years old? He thinks it might be that, but he definitely doesn’t remember the details, he just walks away from the interaction murmuring, “something about that guy rubs me the wrong way..” to Giotto, who laughs it off.
He’s a chainsmoker and would never admit that he even kind of enjoys the smell of gun smoke. Giotto is not a fan of the smoking but knows that he can only do so much to change his habits. He’ll have a nice little cigar on occasion and has convinced Giotto to take at least one little itty bitty baby draw from it.
He has a few other small tattoos aside from the one on his face and neck. I like to imagine they’re fairly elegant, like a roman numeral, an anatomical heart, something Vongola related, on his wrist, behind the ear, at the nape of the neck, etc.
Out of the 1st gen guardians, he is most likely to get a tattoo in honor of his S/O. Something as cheesy as the coordinates of where they met, their favourite flower, their birthday, or even a bite mark tattoo (there’s a way to do it without tattooing over an actual bite on his arm, I’m sure of it).
Tumblr media
He thinks that he’s slick about it, but pretty much all of the other guardians know that he has had and continues to have car sex in his work vehicle. He picks up his partner to bring them to company dinners, and his hand will always travel from the shift, to their thigh, to… you get the point. Giotto once asked why that one car always has to go into the shop to fix the suspension, and G’s face turned almost as red as his hair.
He runs very hot, to the point where he often avoids wearing more than just one thin dress shirt. He has really nice forearms and strong hands, so there’s plenty of real estate to gawk at when he rolls up his sleeves. And he knows how to use his fingers very well. It’s like he’s pavlov'ed his partners into squirming and blushing the second he begins to pull up the sleeves to “avoid getting them wet, of course..”

sunoo fic where he buys you a puppy or a bunny, bunnies are cuter
puppy bunny love
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: gn reader x sunoo
tags: kim sunoo from enhypen, short one short (written format), cute animals, bunny, sketchy pet shop, fluff, surprise, sunoo buying a bunny to surprise you, comfort, cute, self insert.
warnings: mild language? maybe? buying instead of adopting.
wc: ≈ 1k
Tumblr media
Sunoo clearly remembers the first time you both moved to this town.
He remembers the first time you had both decided to explore the now familiar so-called entertainment district and the very first time you had discovered that one specific pet store, which neither of you had expected to see so randomly.
Your initial discovery of this out-of-place pet shop was difficult to forget for Sunoo despite the fact seeing it in the first place was so unanticipated. Why? Well, 1. your reaction when you first saw it was absolutely priceless, and 2. you bring it up every damn month without fail.
It’s a very undersized, cramped store. The shop walls have glass cages, similar to museum displays, but with tiny energetic animals running around within them instead of ancient artifacts collecting dust. It was usually crowded with people who had passed by and just so happened to see the adorable, fluffy baby animals waiting to be saved- uh, bought.
The whole place was a little sketchy. It was such a disorganized mixture of animals. A few of the glass crates had some sweet kittens, the majority had various breeds of puppies, but one had a bunny in. The cutest little bunny you had ever laid your eyes upon. It honestly looked like a white pompom. And ever since you saw it, you never shut up about it. You begged Sunoo to let you get it- but the answer was always no.
Though reasonably, it was a mature answer. Realistically, it took a lot of effort and responsibility to care for a new pet- especially a bunny. It just wasn't the best time for a commitment like that.
When the time did come when you were ready to take it on, and Sunoo had finally agreed, the bunny had vanished. Sunoo made some lame joke about how it was now free from the sentence of being loved to death by you, but you were too glum to joke around. The look on your face broke Sunoo. He wished he could bring back that face of hyperactive excitement and pure joy that you had when you had seen that stupid bunny before.
That's why as soon as Sunoo saw a new bunny in the store while passing by on the way home today, with no hesitation or time to think, he bought it for you.
Honestly, he hated the thought of it- buying instead of adopting, but Sunoo did not have many other options. Right now, this sketchy ass place had finally gotten to him. This bunny wasn't identical to the one before, but it was close enough, and Sunoo knew you would be too excited to care what it looked like anyway. After seeing the worker's lack of interest or compassion when selling this bunny to him, Sunoo started to feel glad he had picked up the bunny away from that unprofessional store. He knew you would give it a life any bunny would be extremely lucky to have. You would love it until the end of its time, and even more after.
The bunny struggled a little in the undersized box Sunoo had been given to transport it on the way home, and he was worried that it would escape before he even got home. He carefully sped up his pace, hoping you had not randomly decided to go out and eat cake like you usually did.
Sunoo rang the doorbell a few times and knocked a couple times. You opened the door after rushing toward the sound of Sunoo arriving home. You looked him up and down, noticing him gripping a strange box quite nervously.
Piquing curiosity, “where did you get that?" you questioned, trying to get a clearer view of the mystery box.
It wasn't that obvious that it contained an animal. Really, it looked like a cake box or something- maybe Sunoo had gone to Paris Baguette and bought a cake to surprise you?
“This? Oh, it's a gift for us,” Sunoo smiled awkwardly, hurriedly pushing past before you could figure out what it was from the barely audible noises the box made.
You closed the door behind you and darted toward where Sunoo lay the box, “what is it?”
Sunoo giggled at how excited you were to see a plain box, with no clue there was that damn bunny you had nagged him about for months inside, “should we open it and find out?”
Without answering, you skipped closer to the box, and leaned forward on your tippy toes, smile widening and notable interest rising in your facial expression by the second. Sunoo signaled for you to open it yourself, so you did eagerly.
There it was. The ball of fluff that had almost caused you a heart attack upon seeing it for the first time. The bunny that had shattered your heart when it had disappeared from the store. The one thing you couldn’t, and wouldn't, stop talking about recently- with the exception of Sunoo of course.
Sunoo watched the way you lit up as you saw it. Then he watched tears glaze over your eyes, making his own water, “why are you crying, love?”
“I'm just so happy,” you wailed out as you picked up the endearing thing ever so gently, “we can really keep it?”
“Of course we can. That’s why I bought it, right?”
Sunoo admired how much you loved this thing. It even made him a little jealous to see such a simple creature make you so happy and steal your heart in seconds after he had spent years trying to capture it.
"But if that bunny steals you away from me, then we will have problems,” he joked.
You rolled your eyes with a smile, your tears and sniffles now lightening up. The rest of that evening you spent gathering supplies and smothering the bunny in kisses and pets. This bunny was about to be the most spoilt thing ever, but your pure happiness was enough to convince Sunoo to keep the bunny around.
Sunoo loved being in love with your love, even if you gave more of it to an animal than him.

Is Dick Grayson a Good Person? Slade Wilson's Opinion Fails To Count.
“You realize that this frees you.”
“Gotham’s not a chain!” Dick snapped, before he even had the opportunity to control himself. “I put half my life into that city and I won’t abandon it just because everybody else in your stupid country has! It is a starving child, it is not a burden.”
Slade’s lip curled upwards. Dick wondered if he had fallen into a rhetorical trap. “Defensive. I was referring to your obligations towards the Batman.”
“Batman isn’t dead,” Dick said coldly. “You won’t get that lucky.”
“But you are far out of his reach.” Slade folded his arms on the table, eyes glinting. “As you said, there’s not much work you can do for him now. You’ve always found the task distasteful. The lying. Prioritizing Batman’s mission over the greater good. You can remove the mask you wear. However necessary the subterfuge was in the past, it’s hardly necessary now. You can do what you like. And you’ve never liked your job. You’re free.”
So I did that thing I always do when writing a bugfuck huge story and wrote a smaller story off it for fun. Normally I'd save this for much later, but this time I thought I'd be fun to post it before the main story and have it be a teaser. I think this very short slice of the universe must be really fun to read if you have no idea what the hell's going on!
I think by the end of it you can get a good idea of what's happening. This will be more difficult if you aren't familiar with certain Batman plotlines. This one requires some basic Teen Titans know-how to fully get, but I can offer a Cliff's Notes if requested.
Very short 5k mystery under the cut.
He was standing in the gift shop.
Just standing. He wasn’t scrolling on his phone or pretending to browse or doing anything that would keep him remotely invisible in the crowd of children. He stood in front of the back door to the gift shop that led into the main Tower building, hands in his pockets and aimlessly looking around. Zero fucking shame.
“Why didn’t he just call?” Gar hissed. “That’s why we have a phone. That is the purpose of phones! What’s his purpose? Annoying us to death?” He glanced back at Joey, who was looking thoughtfully at the screen. “Uh. No offense.”
“For the last time, please do not censor your words for my benefit,” Joey signed, eyes crinkling in faint amusement. “He’s a difficult person. Nightwing, I’ll go down and speak with him.”
Dick was too tired for this.
He hadn’t been sleeping well, or at all. Gigantic fucking surprise, that one. It was worrying Kori. She was looking at him now, with her eyebrows furrowed in that increasingly familiar way. She barely looked at him normally anymore.
For the five millionth time, Dick thought that he ought to break up with her. For five millionth time, he decided it wouldn’t be worth it. Maybe next time.
He adopted a Leaderly Thinking Pose anyway, rubbing his thumb over his bottom lip. It was his genuine body language while he was solving a problem on the ground as Nightwing, but he had to force it now. He really just wanted to stare blankly into space now. “If he wanted to speak to you, Joey, he would have randomly showed up on your balcony.”
“He also never wants to speak to you!” Danny piped up. Pantha flicked him on the temple. “Ow! Child abuse again!”
Vic’s eye twitched. “No horseplay in my security booth, guys.”
“Oh, but horseplay literally everywhere else is fine?” Donna asked archly.
Gar grinned. “Horseplay? You call that horseplay? I can show you -”
“Do it and you’re dead, little man!”
“But I could be a little horse! Just a little one! Shetland pony!”
Dick was way, way, way too tired for this.
“If he had actually wanted to speak with us, he’d just show up.” Dick resisted the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose. “Standing in our darn gift shop’s a message. A ‘come out and play’ thing. It’s a…”
“Power play,” Donna sighed. “The Slade Wilson special.”
“Which means he wants to talk to me,” Dick agreed. He stepped away from the console, waving the sweaty young adults out of his way as they tried to make room in the overstuffed security booth. “I’ll be back.”
An awkward silence fell over the assembled group. Dick forced his way back into the hallway, leaving the others to trip over their feet and follow after him, but the sound didn’t obscure Panthera whispering a question in Gar’s ear.
“Uh,” Gar said, furry green ear flicking, “I’ll tell you later, yeah?”
“Oh! I know this one! I got it!” Danny thrust his hand in the air, ignoring Panthera grabbed him by his collar and physically towing him along. “Slade Wilson kidnapped Nightwing from the circus when he was twelve and taught him how to be a super-badass bounty hunter mercenary! But then Nightwing was like - no way, Jose, no mercenary looks this good in Spandex. Lookit my toned butt. So Nightwing made a break for it and decided to use his ill-gained skills in pursuit of heroism and justice and making me clean my room -”
“So if I look inside your room, it’ll be clean?” Donna asked mildly, and Danny froze. “If I go in there right now, it’ll be sparkling? Just like you said it was? Because if you lied, I’ll have to take you off -”
“Give me ten!”
That successfully got rid of Danny. Panthera obviously had a billion more questions, but after Gar whispered something back she nodded and peeled down the hallway in the opposite direction. Dick finally made it to their cavernous living space, stuffed full of couches and empty soda cans and video game systems. The familiarity and safety didn’t make him feel any less claustrophobic.
The Tower had been his home since he was eighteen. He had never moved out or gotten his own place, choosing to live on site like their more vagrant members. Nowadays he spent most of his time at Kori’s place, to the point where he might as well be moved in already - but the Tower was still Nightwing’s home. The Titans were still Nightwing’s family.
“Love, please wait,” Kori said, and because it was her he stopped.
He turned around to see his friends in front of him, and realized for the first time that they all looked worried. Kori, Donna, Gar - old and familiar expressions on their faces.
“I really hate that guy,” Gar muttered, glaring at the floor as his tail lashed. “How does someone get worse the less evil they are?”
“Somebody may be a ‘good guy’ and a bad person. Or somebody may be a ‘bad guy’ and a good person. Evil or good - I believe it has little to do with your character.” Kori turned to Dick, and Dick forced himself to meet her eyes. “Nightwing, you do not have to meet with him.”
“Kori, he’s not going to leave until I -”
Kori grinned. Like Gar baring his teeth was a grin. “I would enjoy the opportunity to remove him myself.”
“There’s no need for violence.” As much as he loved to see it in Kori, he would like to avoid traumatizing schoolchildren. “God knows I’ve talked to him enough times, one more won’t kill me. It’s the fastest way to make him go away.”
“That’s not the point,” Donna said sharply, crossing her arms. “You shouldn’t have to be left alone with the man who kidnapped and abused you as a child.” Dick flinched hard. “We’re your family, Dick. Let us protect you from him.”
Her words made Dick sick. He let them see it. They’d misattribute the emotion. They’d attribute anything to anything they wanted. And it wouldn’t matter if Dick had never said a word. That wasn’t what they would remember.
“If I have to hear the word ‘apprentice’ from his gross yellow teeth one more time, I swear I’m going to turn into a horse and bite him.”
Kori turned to Donna. “Please let me kill him.”
“Dick already said no.”
“We can all outvote him.”
“Joey would make that kind of weird, Kori.”
“Joey will live.”
“And Slade won’t!” Gar said cheerfully.
There was something Dick didn’t know how to admit. Thankfully, he didn’t have to. “He didn’t kidnap me and he didn’t abuse me,” Dick said evenly. Frustration flashed in everybody, even Kori, but the denials were important. The denials wouldn’t make them forgive him, but they would keep him out of any potentially illegal waters. Dick knew the value of a technicality. “I wish you guys wouldn’t make those assumptions.”
“Assumptions are all we have!” Gar protested, throwing out his arms. “You still haven’t told us anything! Like, you don’t have to, really, but - all we have are the weird scraps you drop, and the picture is super worrying. Everything you have told us is scary as hell. If we’re misunderstanding, then why can’t you just -”
Scary? Scary? They’d said it a hundred times, and he’d never disagreed - out of context, the way everything slipped out, he knew what it looked like, but even Dick wasn’t perfect and even that was too much to say. They’d said it a hundred times and it had never bothered him before, but today - now -
“Thank you for worrying, Gar.” Dick smiled, warm and sincere. “But I can handle one old friend. I’ll be back soon.”
“Love, I don’t -”
Dick cut her off by kissing her, and he left to get changed with no more fanfare. There would be no need to go downstairs and talk with Slade, or to coordinate a meeting place. They knew each other too well for that.
He didn’t relax until he was out of the tower in his civvies, the clothes that felt almost alien on him. The suit had felt alien on him for weeks. Everything was alien on him. Everything was alien - even his home, even his family. His world, shifted irrevocably to the right. The United States of America, two million people short.
Dick piloted the boat back to the mainland in silence. The boat had a video camera in it too, so he did nothing but stare at the waves.
*
The reserved room was under the last name ‘House’. Ha, ha. Never let it be said the man didn’t have a sense of humor. Dick was proof enough of that.
The Japanese restaurant was upscale, but it was their regular haunt. Slade was in Japan for business frequently, Dick had spent a vaguely traumatic but extremely educational summer studying under a master there, and Jump’s very sizeable Japanese population had resulted in some authentic restaurants with private back rooms for business deals.
Slade was already waiting, which was a surprise. Maybe he already had gotten in his power plays for the day. Unlikely. Normally he liked to make Dick wait twenty minutes. Maybe he had picked today to be unusually kind and considerate. Even more unlikely.
Without looking up from his phone - undoubtedly working, the man never stopped - he said, “The sake’s poisoned.”
Dick glanced at the innocuous bottle on the table and the two stacked bowls next to it. “My enemy or yours?”
“Mine. Don’t worry, they don’t know you’re here. I’ll resolve this after we’re done here.” He put his phone face down on the table, looking up at Dick for the first time. “You look quite well. Funny.”
“Let me guess,” Dick said wryly, sliding into the seat across from him, “you’re about to congratulate me on my lying skills again?”
“I’m hardly effusive with praise.” Slade reached into his jacket and pulled out his own flask, taking a bowl and sloshing a dark amber liquid onto the porcelain. “And I thought the term was ‘performance’?”
“Performance is the word for you this morning.” Slade held out the bowl to Dick, who held up a hand. Slade shrugged - your loss. “Was embarrassing me in front of the entire team really necessary?”
“Was it fun?”
“Are you an asshole?”
“It was a favor,” Slade said archly. He tipped the bowl into his mouth before setting it aside. “Which is why you’re here. Because you recognize the favors you owe me.”
“And you recognize the blackmail I have on you,” Dick said sweetly. Slade’s mouth twitched backwards a little. “I think last time we established quite well that we are at a standstill, Slade. What did you call it - an impasse?”
“If we are at an impasse, then why did you come?” Slade twisted the cap back onto his flask. Dick was silent. “Joey well?”
“Very. Talia?”
“Unhappy.”
“Unsurprising.”
“She asked me to check in on you,” Slade said lightly. “See how you were doing.”
Dick snorted. “Is that why you came?”
“Yes.”
Dick stopped short.
Slade half-smiled. Point to him.
Then there was a knock on the door, and when the waiter walked in Dick expected to be asked for his order or given a menu. He wasn’t expecting the waiter to bring the entire meal, including Dick’s order. Mapo tofu extra spicy. His favorite. That explains the power play. If it wasn’t obvious, then it was hidden. No situation in which there wasn’t a power play. Fantastic.
“Okay,” Dick said sourly, picking up his spoon. “So why are you actually here?”
“Don’t worry about the check, son. It’s on me today.”
“You are so divorced.”
“And you stink of orphan. Let’s move on from the obvious.” To Dick’s shock, Slade pushed away his own bowl of tonkatsu ramen - a working class dish for the high class man - and folded his arms on the table. He gave Dick his full attention, so heavy it could squeeze the breath from him. He almost never did that. Not outside of a fight, anyway. “How are you doing?”
Dick ate his tofu.
“There’s nobody else you can speak to about this besides me.”
Barbara. Who was even more distraught than Dick, and who Dick had been focusing on supporting instead of dumping onto. Who still believed in the police. In her father.
Alfred. Who was suffering enough.
“I’m not stupid enough to bare my neck to you,” Dick said quietly.
Slade leaned back, crossing his arms. “Vulnerability? You were flayed open to me many years ago, Dick. I have seen parts of you that even you have not seen.” Dick snorted softly. “Like will always recognize like. What’s a few words of frustration between an apprentice and his old master?”
Dick put his spoon down. Dick breathed. In one. Out two. In one.
“You don’t have to hold your temper, Dick.”
“I shouldn’t have come.”
“You knew you had to come,” Slade pressed. “You aren’t perfect. Nobody can hold all of this within themselves. You came because you needed to talk to somebody, and I am the only person in the United States of America that you can be honest with.”
“It’s ridiculous of you to act as if a lie entitles you to honesty.”
“I’m just trying to do you a favor, Dick. I’m the only person left who wants to help you.”
Dick breathed.
The first unexpected thing of the night happened. Slade sighed, rubbing his forehead in an exact mirror of Joey’s expression from earlier that day. “I’m here when you’re ready.”
Then he picked up his chopsticks and began eating. Dick and Slade ate together in complete silence. Somehow it wasn’t even that awkward. The food was good, and if you were in a room with Slade the ideal environment was silence.
He wasn’t halfway through his meal when he noticed that his hand was trembling. Dick watched it, detached and half-interested. That didn’t normally happen. He wasn’t feeling much. Certainly nothing intense enough to make his hand shake like this.
Slade definitely saw it, but he politely didn’t say anything.
He was halfway through his meal when he noticed that his careful breathing had gone off the rails. His breaths were coming in too hard, too fast. He was lightheaded. He needed to get out of this room. This claustrophobic back room in a Japanese restaurant under the name House, a grim fucking parody of his real home and family, eviscerated and dead.
Dick dropped his spoon. “I should go.”
He didn’t stand up. Slade ate his noodles.
“You did this after Jason.” Exactly this. He had done the exact same thing, down to the same restaurant. Dick hadn’t even registered. He didn’t remember the month after Jason too well. “You - you sat me down and told me that I could talk to you about it. You did, didn’t you?”
“Goodness, Dick, I wasn’t hiding it.” Slade blew on his spoon. “I remember finding it interesting. You and Joey couldn’t be more different. When Grant died, Joey only - well. Of course Joey didn’t say much. But I remember he just lay there in that hospital bed. Just staring out the window. I didn’t really know what to do. Let his mother take care of it.” Big-ass fucking shock, that one. “You, however - you, I knew what to do with. And you look exactly the same now as you did back then. Do you know who you look like, Dick?”
Dick didn’t say anything.
“You look like a man angry enough to strangle the world.”
Dick bit his tongue.
Slade looked back down at his bowl, sipping his broth. “Tell me about it.”
Bruce would be so fucking disappointed in him. But it wasn’t as if Bruce could know.
“I’m not like you, Slade,” Dick said. He forced himself to keep staring at the man instead of looking at the woodgrain like he wanted. Do not forget who you’re speaking to. Don’t let him win. Was this letting him win? Were there some battles he wanted to lose? “But I’m not like them either. They’re honest people. Their lives have been messy, and they aren’t always nice, and sometimes they don’t always do the right thing. But they are honest people. They’re guarded, but none of them are pretending to be something they’re not.”
“Are you?” Slade asked mildly. “You’re a hero. There’s no doubt about that. I believed that was the only qualification for membership into that club. Certainly not talent.”
“Yeah, I’m a hero. I’m a good person. I’m a leader, I’m a boyfriend. A son and a brother.” He would always be a brother. Jason could be dead for fifty years and Dick would still be his fucking brother. And Tim… “But I’m a soldier too. At the end of the line I’m a soldier. Which is why I’m out here playing video games and eating ramen instead of where I’m needed.”
“Batman needed his spy?”
Dick winced. He hated that word. Accurate as it was. “The world needed Nightwing. That’s what he said. I’m not much good as a spy right now.”
“You were always a very good spy,” Slade said lightly. “I couldn’t even get Terra past you.”
God. Terra. Dick had almost forgotten about that. Maybe in self-defense. “Terra was a rank amateur and a little girl. You’re disgusting, by the way.” Slade shrugged. Dick didn’t know what part of leading a gullible teenage girl into believing that you might fall in love with her if she did everything you said warranted a shrug. “So unless you have any more Terras or Amanda Waller has any more ideas, Gotham needs me more than the Titans do.”
“And yet here you are,” Slade said. “A soldier following his final order. No wonder you’re distressed. The only thing keeping you with the Titans are orders you don’t want to follow.”
“I was raised family uber alles,” Dick said lightly. His hand wasn’t shaking anymore, so he carefully picked his spoon up and started tucking into the tofu again. “Congratulations. You got what you wanted. Are we done here?”
“Are we?”
“I’m two seconds away from that sake.”
“Don’t stop on my account.”
“Oh, you wish.”
“We’re both well aware that I prefer you alive, Dick.” Great, that old power play - you’re alive only by my will! Just because it was true doesn’t mean he should lord it over him. Everybody Dick knew was alive because he wanted them alive, it wasn’t really something to brag about.
Dick’s hand clenched so hard his knuckles turned white. He turned his attention back to his breathing again. In one, out two. Slade watched, amused.
It all flashed through his mind. The news coverage. Bruce’s face in that D.C. hotel room. The gossiping, the smiles. The Titans. The scorn.
They had been sympathetic. They were good people. Danny said a lot of callous shit, obviously. That kid needed therapy badly. Donna had tsk’d over it, Kori had solemnly proclaimed that it was the decision of a weak leader.
“That place is so scary,” Gar had said, shivering. “Gotham bad guys are bad guys on steroids. I can’t imagine being trapped in a city full of them.”
“And they aren’t even letting us do anything about it!” Wally had announced. That was what had really galled him - Wally hated inactivity. “Is this really the end of it? It’s so unfair.”
“There was no other outcome,” Vic had said shortly. He was the ‘cold hard reality’ one. “That plague could have swept the US. Shitty how we aren’t even trying to make a vaccine, but quarantining the place is the only thing that kept everybody else safe.”
“But to just abandon it!” Kori had said. “It’s too unfair.”
“Yeah, it’s fucked.”
“Well,” Wally had said, “nothing to do.”
“Nothing we can do,” Donna said.
“Gotta say,” Gar said, “kinda glad it’s not my problem?”
“With you there,” Vic said.
Raven had said nothing. Dick didn’t remember what he had said. He only knew that she had stared at him the whole time, and that he had to eventually force himself not to care. Raven had his number. She knew what a liar he was. She never told anybody. She’d kept every secret so far - she’d keep this one too.
Everybody had jumped to conclusions. Nightwing never said a word about why he had the skills and drive he had, why he chose their strange and unsettled life. The first person they see who really seems to know him is Slade Motherfucking Wilson, who won’t stop going on about their fated master-apprentice destiny. Who wouldn’t assume that they had a history? And wasn’t that a pretty fantasy too convenient to destroy?
Dick hadn’t lied about that. Slade had. Completely out of his ass, with full abandon. Gleefully. Called it a favor to him. Dick could do without his favors. Sometimes Dick wondered if he believed his own lies.
Dick didn’t have to say it. Slade knew. Slade knew full well, and he had only said it to make Dick see it too.
The mission was worth it now. It was worth it. The lying, the masks, the betrayal, their fake history - it was worth it and more. He couldn’t imagine wanting to do anything else.
“You can say it, Dick.”
Dick dropped his spoon, letting his fists clench in his lap.
“I already know. You can say it.”
Dick’s teeth grit together.
“I want to hear you say it. Admit it, Dick.”
Maybe Dick had been kidnapped by this man one too many times. Maybe hearing that tone of voice, a tone he only used when he had Dick at his complete mercy, ground against his mind at just the right angle and produced a spark. Or maybe Dick was just weak without Bruce - weak, when he was alone in the world - and he just wanted to say it.
“I want them to pay for this.”
Slade was polite enough not to gloat. God only knew he’d worked hard enough over the past five years to try and squeeze something half as cold out of him. “And you have to stay undercover to do so. Even now, when it’ll be more difficult than ever.” Dick nodded. “Revenge, then. What will that look like?” Dick shrugged. “You haven’t figured it out yet? Unlike you.”
“Hard to figure out something you don’t like admitting,” Dick said lowly.
“Sounds like I’m doing you another favor, then.”
“Sounds like you need to watch your mouth.”
Slade barked a laugh, making Dick roll his eyes. “Let me guess - you’ll rather die than accept my help?” Dick flipped him off, and he laughed again. “So be it, then. That’s a pity. I would have liked to know what your revenge would look like.”
“I can do it on my own,” Dick snapped, a second before he realized what that sounded like. “Christ, Slade, I’m not taking revenge on the United States. That’s supervillain behavior. I’m just -”
“Fantasizing about it?” Slade asked archly. “Thinking, dreaming, wanting? Not doing? It’s unlike you. You’ve always taken what you wanted.”
“Are you seriously trying to convince me to go supervillain right now?”
“Just trying to help.”
“Your help’s sh - not welcome, thanks.”
A dim, sunken light shone in Slade’s eye, and Dick looked away. He hadn’t allowed Dick to curse at him for those long two months. Knowing that shit from so long ago still stuck probably got him off. Asshole. Bastard. Fucker.
“It’s here if you want it,” Slade said. “It’s always been here. Just because you’ve ungratefully rejected it, thrown it back in my face, doesn’t mean it’s no longer here. For what it’s worth, I think you’re more than capable of the revenge you seek. If you’re actually willing to take it.” Slade angled his head down, one watery blue eye piercing straight through Dick. “Are you willing?”
Dick couldn’t breathe.
“My little brother is twelve,” Dick whispered hoarsely, and for once in his life Slade fell silent. “He is a little boy. And he is trapped in that city fighting Bruce’s crusade. If it doesn’t kill him it’s going to break him. And I’ll have lost two brothers in two years. Two kids. Because there’s ‘nothing we can do’. Or because ‘there’s only criminals left in there anyway’. Because of the greater good. Because some asshole in charge decided my family wasn’t worth a couple of bucks. Again.” Dick’s breath was coming hard and fast, and it took all he had not to fall. “I almost killed the man who did it. Bruce had to pry me off him and rip the knife from my hands. I can’t kill the people who did this. I would not do it. I can’t kill everybody who isn’t lifting a finger to help. That’d be - that’d be everybody. And I wouldn’t want to hurt them either.
“I keep on trying to think of a way to make sure that they wouldn’t get away with it. That the people who trapped Tim and ground Jason into poverty experience the consequences of their actions. But I can’t think of it. I don’t know how.”
Short of air-dropping them into Gotham. But that would just be murder. What with the rampant plague and everything. On top of the earthquake. And the riots. Jesus.
“You can’t,” Slade said simply, and Dick didn’t know why the words were crushing. Maybe it was just hearing them from Slade, of all people. “Those people pressed a few buttons and took a few bribes and ruined millions of lives. They will never face ramifications for that. You cannot bring justice for Gotham. The best you have now is payback. The best you can do is revenge. Is that good enough for you, Dick?”
Dick was silent.
And Slade just shrugged. He pushed his bowl away - when had he finished it? - and stood up. He reached over the table and picked up the small poisoned sake bottle with two fingers, tilting it gently back and forth. He put his hand in his pocket, angling his arm back just enough to flash his concealed gun.
“The person who ordered me the poisoned sake is sitting in a business meeting with his fellow executives. They’ve stiffed me on a payment and are trying to get away with it. Of course, nobody stiffs me and walks away. My life exists on a permanently balanced system. Everything in my life is fair. You should give it a shot. It’s quite pleasant.”
“I have better things to do with my time,” Dick said cooly.
“Ah, yes. We all best return to our lives. And you to your friends.” Slade walked past him, pausing only to rest his hand on Dick’s shoulder and bend down. His breath was hot on Dick’s ear, and Dick found himself  freezing still. Another ancient reaction, persistently clinging. “Word of advice, Dick. Don’t tip your hand to your friends just yet. Your fight will only grow more complex from here. You’ll need as many allies as you can.”
Dick turned to look at him. His skin crawled at the smile on Slade’s face, at that familiar bristly stubble. Thank god Joey was identical to his mother. “Every ally I have?”
“Every one.”
They stared at each other, heavy and sour, and for the first time in a long time -
“Then I guess I’ll need all the help I can get,” Dick said softly.
Slade straightened, clapping a hand on his shoulder. “Attaboy. Now, if you excuse me. Wait until the gunshots stop to come out.”
“You’re always taking care of me, Slade.”
“I told you I would,” Slade said loftily. “Have I ever lied to you?”
“No,” Dick said, “we’ve never lied to each other.”
Dick stayed seated in that room long after Slade left. He stayed seated through the murmur of voices, the first screen. They’d need to find a new meeting point.
A hail of gunshots descended over the restaurant, far away and close, and Dick finally broke into tears. Nobody could hear them over the sound of the shots, and nobody could see him in here, and nobody had to know.
He cried as long as the gunshots lasted and no longer. After ten minutes, he wiped his face and exited the room. Better hurry home. It was getting late.
They’d be expecting him.

in love with the piltover enforcer
Tumblr media Tumblr media
some thoughts about your relationship with vi through the years
contains : fluff. reader is an orphan taken in by benzo and described as ekkos older (adoptive) sister. feels like most of this isn't even relationship headcanons but reader in arcane headcanons but whatever.
a/n : we loveee starting this in march 2022 and releasing it when the vi x reader tag is dead ass <3. anyway big shout out to @jackdrawsjunk and @kittyt-hexxed for feeding us black girls in love with vi <3333 anyway lets get into this shit.
Tumblr media
there was one thing that kept you alive in the lanes: family. it was an unforgiving city, the complete opposite of the polished and pristine piltover beside it. the people were rough, and you'd be lucky if some punk only tried to rob you once a week. most loners only lasted a few days.
which is why every night you thanked the gods for your family. it felt silly considering that you were an orphan, but most ended up falling into gangs or worse to protect themselves. you were lucky that before they passed your parents were great friends with the local pawn shop owner, benzo, the man taking you and another boy named ekko under his wings.
because of him, you met vander, the large man who seemed intimidating actually being one of the nicest adults you've ever met in the lanes. when you first met ekko was slightly scared, hiding behind you as you tried to protect him. vander said he admired your protectiveness, and how you reminded him of someone who he thought you would get along with.
when you meet vi for the first time it just…clicks. vander wasn't wrong, the two of you more alike than you would have thought, most notably in the way you were protective over your siblings. they got along wonderfully, unable to spot one without the other. their closeness resulted in yours and you found yourself growing feelings for the pink-haired girl.
thinking back on your pining you laugh, how you refrained from telling vi about your feelings worried you would ruin the relationship if she didn't return your feelings, not knowing that she had a massive crush on you as well. vander pushed her to confess once he noticed, giving her good advice compared to mylo’s “stop being a pussy.”
it’s during one of your usual hangouts sitting on the rooftop of the shop and gazing out at your crappy home and beyond, at the gleaming buildings of piltover and fantasizing about what your life could be like that she stood up and took your hands in hers, telling you shed do whatever it took to give you the life you wanted because she wanted nothing more than for you to be happy. your heart felt like it was going to beat out of your chest as you asked her what she meant, and the look in her eyes told it all.
after that, your relationship was relatively easy. the both of you still hung out often, just with the added bonus of longer hugs and kisses when the others weren't watching so you wouldn't be bombarded with “ew!”s.
unfortunately, there weren't that many romantic spots for private dates, but vi having been ever the persistent made a way. she took on more chores helping vander at the bar, getting some money in return to save up, and buying you some expensive snack from piltover you wanted to try while talking and laughing on the roof.
but things started to go downhill with growing tensions between the two cities, coming to a head with the failed heist. vi hadn't told you much, not wanting you to worry and slightly forgetting when she saw the way you reaffirmed powder that she would do great on their “little adventure”.
it’s safe to say when they got back you were livid. of course, you were thankful that they were ok but vi could admit she was slightly scared at the way you glared holes into her head when vander was criticizing her. she had apologized, and you were still upset but felt better.
but it didn't help, because, in the next few days, your life was ruined.
enforcers stormed the lanes. your father figure and most of your friends were murdered. and you were left with a broken home, a devastated brother, the sister of your best friend lost and left with only a memory of the girl you used to love.
but ekko needed you, and you had to stay strong. for him, for powder who was on the brink of losing herself for good, and for the voice of vi in your dreams who told you to keep going no matter what.
and so you had worked together with ekko to build the firelights, a new community to help uplift people who had been in similar situations to you and take out the drug that had helped to make everything worse.
you were doing good work so far, thankful that you and your brother were geniuses and had created the hoverboards and many other devices to keep you safe and help your mission. life was getting better, even if you still caught yourself sitting at the memorial wall late at night thinking of what your life could've been like if you would have pushed more and never let vi and the others go on that heist.
it seems like the gods in a sick trick may have heard your thoughts. after going out to do some scouting after a tip, ekko headed back to the hideout with two captives in tow, refusing to tell you what was going on until later. you understand why he didn't because if he told you your girlfriend who had been dead for six years had been found walking through the lanes with an enforcer you might have smacked him.
she was standing and looking at the memorial wall when he brought you to her, looking just as beautiful as the day you lost her. her hair was still focused to one side while shaved on the other, bringing up the memory of how her face had reddened when you told her she looked hotter that way. you don't get time to dwell when she’s running up to you and squeezing you into her arms.
you tried to stay strong, but she burrowed her nose into your neck and whispered “god, did I miss you, muffin,” you couldn't help but crumple into her arms.
you took her back to your room and she explained everything, the factory, silco, stillwater. it broke your heart a little to realize you thought she was gone when she was actually so close. you'd never wanted to kill the sheriff more than you did in that moment.
when she told you she was going to go after jinx you were divided. you had encountered your childhood friend, who at some points felt more like a little sister, multiple times over the years. sometimes you'd be able to see glimpses of the girl underneath when you snuck into her place with silco and held her so the voices would be quieter. but you also had seen how much she deteriorated, and as much as you didn't want to admit it you knew powder was gone.
but you believed in vi, and told her as much. it was hard to send her off to the bridge, much less with an enforcer, but you knew it had to be done. but it felt like what happened six years ago happened again, you staying behind and everything going wrong. vi and the enforcer had fled to who knows where and there was no sign of ekko until he popped up with a former council member?
vi popped up a few days later, looking defeated and craving comfort. she didn't need to be invited but you do anyway, telling her she may stay with the firelights for as long as she needed.
vi had been eager to make up for lost time, following you around almost like a puppy when you were showing her the ins and outs of the hideout. despite the stress of the things going on in your lives, it was so easy to fall back into a friendly and romantic relationship with her.
it became strained however when she was offered the job to be an enforcer, helping manage the tense relationship between zaun and piltover. she was excited about the opportunity, ready to help her community in any way how. but you couldn't help but be scared of how it might change her to be around the people who took part in making your life worse.
but you believed in vi, and knew she’d do everything she could to make your home better.
she had already started beforehand by helping with some firefly runs, it being easier to clean up the mess of shimmer left with silco’s death. it warmed your heart to see her coming back from a run laughing and joking with the other firelights.
she continued your beloved tradition, taking you up with her to the top of the tree to observe the stars together. you both didn't speak much, the comfort of each other enough for this moment.
