Saying Batman hits his kids and all his other abusive tendencies only exist because people want to use them as “tropes” to woobify his children is not like…the good take you think it is

It’s important to me that you all know that. It’s not actually bad, an ‘incorrect reading of the text’ or ‘only acknowledging bad writing’ when people want to talk about how Bruce’s actions can actually severely effect those around him.

It’s also important to me that you all know that while maybe a parent hitting their adult child may not count as child abuse because the child is no longer a kid, it does; however, still count as assault, battery, and can even be considered domestic abuse if their living or staying at the manor at the time it happens and is still very, very bad and not okay

Okay so, most gothamite’s have PLENTY of their own batarang collections, yet he still has so FUCKING MANY. He also has an unholy amount of money, proved by the money he drops for repairs when he breaks shit(sometimes), the batmobile, and red hood keeps talking about how the fucker has a giant t-rex figure(that CAN’T be cheap), and I’ve heard some of the other birds talking abt a batcave and batcomputer.

So, my friend Danielle has proposed the theory that Batman is married to the poor little meow meow, Bruce, “I’m gonna adopt that child”, Wayne.

I’ll ask red Hood to confirm later.

oh anon i 1000% agree with you. however, living in the dc universe, there’s a fat chance that might not happen. however, im glad you brought up the joker. let’s talk about his involvement with auggie

“uncle jack”

so it’s obvious that eddie met the joker, jack napier, in prison

the two managed to escape arkham because it’s absolutely terribly ran, and eddie like seriously connects with jack

friend? jack wants to be eddie’s friend? eddie is all over that shit

eddie takes jack to your apartment with him. you’re sitting in the living room with august when you hear your door being unlocked. you hold him tighter and place yourself in front of him as your nerves grow, but the door is suddenly opened to reveal eddie in that stupid orange and white jumpsuit

your eyes widen in disbelief and auggie yells “DADDY!” and runs over to him, eddie catching him in a tight hug and kissing him all over his face

tears are welling in your eyes as you stand up, running over to hug eddie as well

the three of you are all on the floor at auggie’s height, crying, laughing, and hugging and jack is just. standing by the outside of the door waiting to make an appearance

“how did you escape?” you ask as eddie wipes your tears. auggie is still holding on to eddie as if he’s scared if he lets go that eddie will go away again. eddie sniffles, adjusting his glasses “well, i didn’t do it alone…” he trails off, glancing towards the door

that’s when jack steps in and you gasp slightly, grabbing onto august’s shoulders and trying to gently pry him off of eddie

auggie looks up from eddie’s chest and meets jack’s creepy-ass gaze and lets you take him off of eddie, holding his hands all close to his chest in fear

you and edward stand up and august hides behind you, wrapping his arms around your legs and peeking out next to them

“(y/n), auggie, this is jack,” eddie introduces with a slightly awkward clearing of his throat. jack nods at eddie before looking to you and smiling

“eddie’s a lucky guy, he’s told me all about you,” jack starts off, taking a step towards you. you quickly glance at edward, trying to his your uncomfortableness behind a forced smile

“nice to meet you,” you force out, allowing jack to shake your hand. eddie watches carefully and fidgets with his jumpsuit, hoping you like jack

jack looks down from you to august, and kneels down, tilting his head as august whimpers slightly and you rub his little shoulder comfortingly

august is the epitome of the 🥺 emoji

“now look at you, little guy! you look just like your dad!” jack exclaims. eddie smiles proudly and you’re looking at him like he’s absolutely insane, definitely uncomfortable that this creep from arkham with the face paint and weird hair is talking to your child. who knows what this guy got put in for

“hey, don’t be shy!” jack hold out a hand. august disappears behind your leg as his grip tightens and you take a deep breath. jack leans a little to try and look behind you as he chuckles

“ahh that’s okay, i know i probably look a little intimidating,” jack brushes off with a laugh, standing up. edward walks over and picks auggie up, kissing his head as auggie nestles his head in eddie’s neck “don’t be shy baby boy,” he whispers

you’re just kinda standing there like “😀 what the fuck” the whole time

and that’s how auggie met jack. from the very first day, he was not a fan

and it was like that forever

jack often came over to either discuss with or plainly just hang out with edward

eddie is ecstatic, you and august not so much

and jack knows it and absolutely capitalizes on it

jack is trying to “bond” with auggie every chance he gets

he’s always looking through auggie’s stuffed animals, kinda scoffing and chuckling to himself as he shakes his head

“you got any action figures, kid? any toy guns or stuff like that?”

auggie will shake his head slowly and jack will place a hand on auggie’s shoulder, looking him straight in the eyes

“well, your ol’ uncle jack here is gonna take care of that, hm?” he smiles, auggie kinda cringing under his touch. a lightbulb goes off in jack’s head “yeah, uncle jack. you can call me that from now on, ‘kay pal?” he asks. auggie nods nervously

eddie thinks it’s so adorable that he’s “uncle jack” but you absolutely want to throw jack off the top of a building

you try to talk to eddie about it “edward, your son is terrified of him!” “jack is just a little unsettling at first, that’s all. i’m sure he’ll learn to love him and if he doesn’t, i’ll keep him away from him”

when jack upholds his promise and gets august a toy gun as a gift, august almost starts to cry because 1. guns are scary 2. he doesn’t like that it’s heavy and hard plastic that could hurt him 3. it’s from jack

that’s one of the times where edward is like “dude tf you’re scaring my kid” but of course jack just brushes it off

august knows his daddy likes jack, but he can only stand him for so long and auggie will talk to you in bed at night about how much jack scares him

auggie tries so hard to be a big boy for eddie but holy shit no

auggie is not a fan of uncle jack, if i haven’t said that already

you never leave jack and august alone together anymore, always staying in the same room as them and being august’s safe haven because you’re worried if eddie was ever there instead of you he might not step in the same

there was ONE TIME when you and edward had to go out and you couldn’t get somebody else to watch august. you tried your hardest to just be like “we don’t have to do this thing” but edward was like “you know we do” and you made eddie break the news to august that jack was going to watch him for only a little while when they went out

a few tears escaped auggie’s eyes and eddie smiled sadly, hugging his son

“mommy and daddy will be back soon, i promise,” he reassured. he pressed a kiss to auggie’s lips, no happy little “mwah!” sound from august this time, just “🥺🥺🥺”

you picked up auggie and held him for a moment, stroking his hair as if you were going away for like a week when in reality you were leaving him with jack which is worse

“you’ll be okay, im sorry baby,” you whispered

“don’t worry, we’re gonna have lots of fun, kid”

famous last fucking words

when the two of you got back, august was bawling his eyes out and ran to you, you picking him up and holding him tightly

“what happened?” eddie asked

jack chuckled to himself as he explained he thought it was a funny and fantastic idea to tell august about a man called the riddler and the things he does at night, and now august is afraid the riddler was going to come and get his family

edward actually decked jack for that one

jack isn’t allowed around august anymore.
