Well

I finally finished I See You, Sundrop! by @shirajellyfish

Slight spoily warning!

It is 1:14 in the morning as I write this (editing about a day later) and I have my first day of my senior year of high school tomorrow, but I just had to get all of my thoughts out while they were fresh.

I have never, never hyperfixated on a fanfic so hard. I've never read 400k+ words of a single fic in under a week. Somehow I managed to do that and have time to draw fanart (something I'm pretty sure I've only done once before for a fic, actually) and do my irl life shit.

How, you may ask? By continuously staying up into the wee hours of the morning :D (like 4-6am type shit, don't recommend it even if I think it was personally worth it).

I think I was so hyperfixated on the fic that I honestly didn't absorb the emotions like I should have? I felt things, surprise, excitement, a Sense of Impending Doom (/hj), but I don't think I really felt them.

I was probably a little more dissociated while reading than I usually am lol. I was so absorbed that some things barely registered. I am 100% going to have to re-read everything.

At one point I worried the fic wouldn't have a happy ending. Doesn't have the "angst with a happy ending" tag afaik and it got much worse before it got better. Saw a comment on one of the end notes and was reassured thankfully TvT. I'm very happy everyone is ok.

Love how the after ending note basically boiled down to "everyone is fine and Felix finally got some sleep" lol.

This fic was just. So good. Riley is such a dynamic character, so awesome and so cool. I really want to headcanon them as autistic (some of their behaviors just. They just. It's hard to explain, but if you're autistic too I bet you probably felt it, just a lil. They got the vibes /hj) but I know some authors can be kinda iffy about people headcanoning their OCs (which I get).

It was really cool to see an honest to goodness nonbinary character, a full character and not a self insert or y/n (no shade, I love y/n stories too). It was just cool to see a complete OC, and I love that it was all platonic, even if Sundrop did catch a little bit of feelings.

Honestly I relate so much to that, as someone who gains and loses crushes pretty fast. I'm happy it stayed platonic though and Sunny wasn't hurt or stuck pining or something silly. Plus his absolute embarrassment and mortification at his slip up was pretty funny. Might try to draw it, if I have any left over motivation (the bottom of this post sure is interesting hint hint).

Update as I'm editing this about a day later: I can't stop thinking about this fic. It was just so good! I already want to re-read it but I know I should give it at least a little time so I don't burn myself out. This fic was probably the best story I've ever read. Period. Even better than the published books I've read.

Honestly without spoiling any more than I already have, read it. If you like the DCA, read it. If you like cool nonbinary characters and great platonic relationships, read it. If you like a plot that sneaks up on you before hitting you in the feels like a truck, read. It. Do it. It's sososo worth it, I promise you.

If anyone has some good fics to read (completed preferred but actively updated ones work too) PLEASE FEED ME. Now that I'm done with ISYS I am desperate for more DCA fics. I've read so many and I n e e d m o r e.

I n t r o d u c t o r y P o s t !

Its time I introduce myself to this site. Might as well do it now, I guess.

I'm Austral, and as my description says, Im an amatuer writer, and a Romanian football fan.

What am I even doing here? What do I write about?

Im here to exist on another platform. For writing... well, after inspiration from other people who decided to write about/draw football club personifications, I was interested in the concept. That combined with a resurgence in football and a need to write, I just went with... my Wattpad series. Stagnare!

What even is "Stagnare"?

Stagnare is stagnation in Romanian. Perfectly describes the 30 years after privatization of most (if not almost all) Romanian football clubs. And there are so many stories lost within the darkness. Stories of despair, survival, rebirth, triumph, and drama. Corruption, match-fixing, mismanagement, rot. My main goal is... varied. Tell the stories that are untold to outsiders, bring these club's experiences into actual stories with personifications... and to scratch that writing itch. So far, I have a couple basic stories set up, I'll figure out what to do in terms of overall series soon. If you want to take a peek...

I'll come back here when I finish the newest story. Feel free to ask questions. For now, salutari!

‘That is what one would call a crush.’

‘It’s probably nothing.. Bye!’ you waved your hands up in the air, trotting away as quickly as you could.

‘Too light,’ you comment, using your paintbrush as a pointing stick.

‘Too dark,’ your pointing stick of doom returns.

‘This?’ he looks for your approval, eyes shimmering with desperation.

‘Oooh.. Nice, you did a wonderful job! I think you’re getting better!’ you cheerfully exclaim.

‘I don’t know. I plan on dropping this art course soon..’ as he coats the canvas in green, he confesses.

‘Oh.. Why is that?’

‘I don’t think I’m getting any better. Even after two years.’

‘Hey.. Hey, you don’t have to be good at something to enjoy doing it. You can struggle to draw stick men, for all I know. But if you enjoy it, just go for it.’

‘Everyone else is so good at it though.’

‘Who cares about everyone else?’ you roughly sketch the candy cane out.

‘I really suck though.. Like, seriously.’

‘Everyone sucks, Seokiee.’

A blush creeps up his cheeks. Could it be? Could it be?!

*eeek*

His hands accidentally quiver, messing the painting up.

‘Oiiiii.. The lines.’ you frown slightly.

‘Sorry... See, I suck.’

‘Dude, we can just cover it up with more paint. No worries.’

‘Wouldn’t that make it bulky?’

‘We aren’t painting frauds.. Whatever you call them... It doesn’t have to be perfect. Plus, I’m sure a little overlaying would simply add more personality to the painting.’

You have a way with words, he is impressed.. More than impressed..

‘Time?’ you swing over closer to his side, eyes focused on the hands of his watch.

A pause-

‘You smell like chocolate.’

Ughhh.. What the fuck?

‘Oh.. Do you not like chocolate?’

‘I do.‘

‘I was late because I grabbed some,’ he brings out a bar like one would bring out a gun.

‘If I had left a few minutes earlier, the traffic wouldn’t have been so terrible,’ he smiles, he always does.

You’re an ANTI-ROMANTIC! Say it again, you bitch! A- N- T- I- R- O- M- A- N- T- I- C-!

‘Chocolate?’ he breaks off a piece and offers it to you.

Like chocolate binding together in a pot, perhaps that day he was offering over to you a small piece of himself.

*ding dong*

‘Oh..’

On the sofa..

‘He should have received it by now. I’m pretty sure.. Yeah.. Yeah....’ you gently pat yourself on the head.

‘Oh.. What in the world is this?’ Hoseok creeps over the package dropped at his doorstep, almost as though a spider would jump at him if he didn't.

He picks the package up with one finger, the cardboard box dangling from a piece of yellow tape.. He can’t afford to lose a whole hand!

‘Oh.. What is this?’

Marching over to the table, he carefully dissects it open with his handy-dandy box cuter. (nicknamed: Mr fuzzy not so fuzzy sharpie sharp sharp)

‘A box of chocolates..’ his teeth shows.

He’s happy to receive gifts.. He loves affection.. He loves love..

He doesn't remember it being Valentine’s day or anything.. But, okay..

It’s Christmas, actually. The ground is covered with an unholy amount of freaking snow and his hands are freezing. But, okay...

‘Oh.. What is this?’ there was something else in the box.

He doesn't hesitate now that he knows a bomb or grenade isn’t hidden in there, ready to blow him and his house up in seconds.

‘It’s shaped like a cup of chocolate,’ trailing his fingers over the cleanly-shaven piece of paper, he opens it.

Dear Hoseok,

It’s me, Y/N.

The holidays are here, and I wanted to give you something. (In return for your help with the project, of course.) You seem to like chocolate, so yeah, I decided on this gift. It’s simple, but I hope you like it.

Ah, yes. One more thing. You did a great job with the painting, I’m proud of you.

‘Sweet, where are you?’ he presses the phone close to his ears.

‘Traffic, Hoseok.’

Instead of a frown, he hands a box wrapped in red and green paper over to you.

‘Chocolate, You are late.’

‘I know, Hoseok.. Traffic.’

‘Now that I think of it, that rhymes.’

‘Oh.. What rhymes?’

‘Chocolate, You are late.’

‘Ha.. Reminds me of when we first met two years ago,’ he giggles, taken back to where he first interacted with you.

‘That’s true, it does.’

‘Hahaha.’

‘Now.. Now.. Is there actual chocolate in here or are you messing with me, you evil little chocolate latte..’

‘Cocoa mix, chocolate kisses, and...’ he pulls something out of his sweater.

‘It’s.. It’s.. Oh, it’s that bar from two years ago.’

‘Yes, it is.’

‘Here, have some.’

This time around, he breaks half of the bar off for you. After all, over time, you have become his other half. Not a dot in his life, and instead everything he could wish for and have.

Doses of shy smiles, sparkling eyes, hidden glances and held back shots of laughter. Love isn’t so bad after all.

‘We both should stop arriving in late.’

‘I always come in early, Mr Latte.. You’re the one who’s always late.’

‘Okay.. Okay, you win.’

‘I was only five minutes late by the wa-y,’ he shoves a piece of chocolate into your mouth, some clinging to your cheeks.

‘I could have choked on that.’

‘Hush.. Hush.. You’ll choke if you keep on talking.’

‘Shut up, Mr Latte.’

‘If it takes a kiss to make you shut up, then so it be.’

Noctis Lucis Caelum- SFW alphabet

First piece of writing on here let's gooo- Feel free to request anything! I don't have a list of things that I write for yet, but just pop it in my ask box and I'll see what I can do- please don't let this flop 💚

A - Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Noctis isn't really one for very open affection, around others the best he will do is holding hands or exchanging a few smiles here and there- but alone, he will happily sit with you and play games on your phones together, maybe even a few snuggles.

B - Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? Where does the friendship start?)

Noctis would be an amazing best friend, as long as you don't mind sarcastic remarks and sometimes having to deal with his slight temper tantrums. He will do anything to save your life, though. He'd take a bullet for you if needs be.

C - Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

He isn't big on cuddles. Snuggles, and hugs, he's mostly okay with, but cuddles... he just doesn't know what fo do with himself if he finds himself in the situation.

D - Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking, cleaning, ect?)

He doesn't mind settling down for a while, but listen, there's a reason Ignis is the one one cooks. Noctis cannot cook at all. Last time he tried, he burned the food. And it was a soup.

E - Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

He'd try to let you down slowly, he doesn't want to hurt your feelings, but he'd end up digging himself into a deeper hole. It'd probably sound something like this: "Listen, I... I think we should go our separate ways... It's not that I don't like you, or anything... it's just-"

F - Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? Do they wanna get married?)

He has no real opinion on it- but he'd happily get married to you if you asked. If it meant you could spend the rest of your lives together, how could he say no?

G - Gentle (How gentle are they both physically and emotionally?)

Usually, he's not the most gentle person, but he will try to be if he sees that you're upset or in pain. He will often use a softer tone of voice with you, and may touch your shoulder to comfort you.

H - Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it, and what are they like?)

Like I said- he doesn't mind hugs, so long as they are short, and not in front of everyone. He doesn't like hugging for too long bec as se he finds it awkward, but in a heartfelt moment, it doesn't kill him to embrace you from time to time.

I - I Love You (How fast do they say the “love” word?)

It takes a long time. It's not that he doesn't want to say it, it's just that he finds it awkward. He'll only say the L word in a heartfelt moment, or when if it's a very special occasion.

J - Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What are they like when jealous?)

Now, Noctis isn't really one to get jealous, heck, he might even find himself catching feelings for a few others while he's with you, but he always remains loyal to you and expects you to do the same.

K - Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His kisses are usually short, and simple. He likes to kiss you in the most romantic places, you lips, your cheeks, and forehead are his favorite. He likes to be kissed on the back of his hands, and loves to get lost in your eyes as you. He will happily accept whatever affection you have for him.

L - Little Ones (How are they around kids?)

This man is amazing around children, but only the older ones. Probably about eight plus- he isn't the best with babies and todlers. To be honest, he couldn't know what to do with them.

M - Morning (What are mornings like with them?)

It will take him a while to actually get out of bed, but in the meantime he will put his arm around you and stare into your eyes for a bit, getting lost in them.

N - Nights (How are nights spent with them?)

Nothing special. Usually he will stay up late and play board games or games on his phone while eating a delicious Ignis cooked meal.

O - Open (When do they open up about themselves?

Really not a lot. Sometimes, when he's really upset, he'll vent to you, and only you. He doesn't like other people listening, and he knows he can trust you with his secrets.

P - Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Though he's usually chilled out, Noct can be angered very easily. He will start yelling, and maybe even draw a weapon on what's making him angry. His movements will also become snappy, and he will be more prone to breaking things.

Q - Quizzes (How much do they remember about you?)

He remembers a lot about you. Your name, your age, your favourite things to do and eat, but he can't for the life of him remember anything truly personal about you. He does tend to remember a few things you vent to him about, though.

R - Remember (Favorite memory with you?)

When you two went to Altissa, and had a ride on the gondolas all around the city. You even had some of the world-famous ice cream with you, along with a moogle plushie. He will never forget your hair blowing in the breeze. That to him is his idea of a date.

S - Security (How protective are they?)

This man is very protective. He will not let anything harm you. He will try his very very best to do anything he can to protect you, and if harm ever came to you, he'd blame no-one but himself.

T - Try (How much effort do they put in?)

He does try, for the most part. If someone gives him a mission, he isn't one to back down. He will try his best to make you happy, and will spend all the gil in the world if you were happy because of it.

U - Ugly (What are their bad habits?)

His posture. He stands with his back arched and his hips forward, which can be very bad for him in the long run. His father told him countless times to fix his posture, but he never got around to it.

V - Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He really doesn't care much how he looks. He might be a king, but his looks aren't a factor in how he rules, right?

W - Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Very much so. Nothing would feel the same if you dissapeared, and he wouldn't know what to do with himself, and he'd have to have some sense knocked into him by Gladio.

X - Xtra (Random HC)

He loves to impress you- be it with his unique fighting style, or with his amazing fishing skills. He also makes sure to catch the best fish he can, and he loves it when you cook his fish for him. He'll happily sit with you and enjoy the meal.

Y - Yuck (Things they don’t like either in general or a partner?)

He hates people who try to hurt him, or his friends/partner. He also doesn't like vegetables, and if you try to make him eat his greens, likelihood is, he'll just warp away from you. Far away.

Z - Zzz (Sleep habits)

It usually takes him ages to get to sleep. Sometimes he'll be up all night fighting daemons, and getting gil. When he does sleep, it may only be for a few hours. He goes to sleep late, and wakes up early, and the others have to practically drag them out of the tent or bed.

A=Adoration: What do they adore about you? • Everything. How understanding you are. Loki’s been through a lot, and you’re always patient with him. Even if he was nervous about the relationship in the beginning, you let him take his time, reassuring him you could go slow. And knowing all that, you always checked if he was alright, making sure you weren’t doing anything that made him uncomfortable or weren’t going to fast. He didn’t think anyone else would be quite as considerate as you.

B=Beauty: What do they find most beautiful about you? • Your smile. When you look at him with your face all lit up, he thinks his heart is going to burst from joy. No one else had ever looked at him quite as softly, as kindly, as genuinely as that. He likes to think about your smile as he drifts off at night. It gives him the best dreams.

C=Cuddles: Do they like cuddling? • Not at first. Loki is very guarded and letting anyone into his space is a big decision. Once he warms up to you, however, all he wants to do is snuggle. His preference between big spoon and small spoon depends on the day. When he’s feeling particularly antsy or small, all he wants is to be held in your arms as if sheltered from the world. But on his better days, when he just wants to protect his little mortal, he likes to wrap his body around yours, keeping the two of you in your own little bubble of happiness.

D=Date: What’s their favorite date you’ve had? • The first one. He was too nervous at first to go out with you in public, resulting in a dinner for two in his quarters at the Tower. It was happiness like he’d never known before, the first of many soft, quiet moments you two would share. Loki remembers being too nervous to take your hand in his and being pleasantly surprised when you were the one to hesitantly intertwine your fingers together. He doesn’t think he’ll ever forget a single moment of that night.

E=Embarrassed: What about you makes them flustered? • The little things. Like when you take his hand in public. Or say you love him. Or throw a smile his way during a debriefing. Or laugh at one of his jokes. Everything you do seems so natural, so genuine, that it throws him off guard for a moment. When he realizes that’s because all the small things are reflections of how much you love him, his face goes bright red!

F=Forever: How do they plan the rest of your life together going? • Honestly, Loki doesn’t like to think about it. He just knows he needs to be with you, and that’s enough. Though, he did find a spell to expand a mortal lifespan, and plans on asking you if it’s ok to use it. If you say yes, he imagines whisking you away to a cabin in the woods for a while, spending some of your many years just basking in each other’s presence. If you say no, that’s fine too; he’ll still treasure every moment you have together and knows he’ll see you again some day.

G=Gifts: Do they like giving gifts? Receiving them? • Loves giving them; mixed feelings on receiving. Loki adores you so wholly and completely, he thinks it only natural he gives you a gift here and there. Ok, at least twice a month. If he sees something that reminds him of you—and most things do in some way—why not gift it to you? You always love them and want to give back to him. It always makes Loki confused because he had never seen himself worthy of such tokens of love. With every one you give him, you change his mind a little more.

H=Hello: What’s their favorite way to greet you? • With a kiss. Nothing long or extremely passionate, usually just a peck on the cheek or back of the hand. Sometimes, he’s too nervous to say he loves you out loud, but the little kiss says it all. Besides, the god considers it an honor to be allowed to be the one to give you such affections, and he plans on making the most of the privilege.

I=Impression: What was their first impression of you? • He’s intrigued. Loki never liked to have particularly strong feelings either way toward someone. But, despite being the God of Lies, he doesn’t like to deceive himself. There was some unplaceable thing about you that drew him in. Eventually, he realized it was because you never scorned him or cowered for him. No, you were always attentive and interested in listening to him. For someone like Loki, that was rare, so of course he wanted to stick around you.

J=Journal: Do they keep a journal? • Yes. Not religiously or anything. If he misses a few nights, it’s no big deal. He does like to quickly jot down a few thoughts when he can, though, usually about time he spent with you. Then when he can’t be with you at the moment for whatever reason, he can pull it out and flip through, reliving the memories with a smile on his face.

K=Kisses: What’s their favorite part of you to kiss? • The back of your hand. Asgard was a fairly formal place, and having been raised a prince, it was common for him to bow and place a kiss there. But with you, it was different. More meaningful. It was almost a way of bringing his old culture with him, yet making it his own. He wouldn’t always bow when he did it. In fact, more often than not, it was sans bow. Instead, if you were walking down the street hand in hand, he’d lift yours to his lips and plant a quick, gentle kiss there. Or if you were sitting together on the couch, he would do the same. Really, they were a good, fast little reminder of his affection for you at any time of the day. How adorably flustered it made you was just a bonus.

L=Love: How do they tell you they love you? • Through the things he does. Sometimes it’s hard for Loki to actually say the words because of his fears, so he opts to show you. He’ll ask if it’s ok to take care of you if it’s something bigger, not wanting to make you uncomfortable. Q=Quiet: What quiet, peaceful moments do they appreciate the most? • The ones where you don’t need to be doing anything else. So many people always need to be talking, but with the storm of thoughts always swirling in his mind, Loki appreciates the quiet. The fact that you two can just lay together saying nothing means so much to Loki. He likes just enjoying your calming presence, looking into each other’s eyes, almost as if communicating through the silence, the special kind that only those as close as you two could truly understand and appreciate.

R=Romance: How romantic are they? • Extremely. Loki loves to sweep you off your feet. Then they crescendo into something bigger, something brighter, something dramatic. It reminds him of the way he feels for you, how it swelled into that big moment of pure and complete love and adoration. I spent probably an hour rereading it again and again, feeling giddy and warm and thinking, “I don’t deserve this kind of praise.” The idea that I could engage their imagination and feelings like that is so encouraging. And *you* managed to take me there again as that scene began, starting from when Alphys and Sans are talking, I think. I promise you, it felt like I *was* there, watching everything through someone else’s eyes and then *feeling* all at once. It was so vivid, and it became so freaking painful at -that- point. And you know, that’s one of the reasons why I loved more than anything this way-too-short still incredibly-perfect fic. Through your writing, you also managed to get something out of me that just left me for a while. Which is, doing art and actually enjoying and finding peace and confidence within every part of the process. And well, I must say I appreciate you greatly for it!! Senior year Klaine!!! Applying for colleges! (Or you could just put some headcanons of how that year would go).

Hi Jas! This ask is literally 7 months old but I have every confidence that you still remember sending it because that is kind of your thing. I finally got inspired to pick back up the scene I had written and finish this off. It was a joy to write in this universe again for a little bit; thank you for sending this in when I invited people to send in prompts for scenes from the Express Yourself Verse. Without further ado...

“You and Kurt talk much about college?” Burt asked conversationally as he handed Blaine a tire iron.

Blaine grasped the handle of the tool. “Some. I, uh, uh, I —don’t want to influ—to effect his de-de-decision so I haven’t shared my list yet.”

“Oh.”

Mr. Hummel looked disappointed. This confused Blaine, whose own parents had given him stern lectures about not throwing away his dreams for some high school boyfriend who, statistically, wasn’t going to be his forever partner anyways. Yes, his father had research to back up his point, as always.

“It’s irresponsible to choose a college based on where your boyfriend is going,” his father had lectured him.

“But he’s the love of-of-of my life,” Blaine had countered.

“Then your relationship will be strong enough to survive a little separation.”

His mother, always with the softer touch, had added, “You are just so young, sweetie, that’s all. You don’t want to limit yourself. It’s the responsible choice.”

They had worn him down in the end. He didn’t always agree with his parents but he knew they had his best interests at heart and as much as he was loath to admit it, he was young. There was a lot he didn’t know about life. College was a big deal and he didn’t want to screw it up by making an irresponsible decision.

But now, it seemed that following his parents’ advice meant disappointing Mr. Hummel. Blaine felt like he couldn’t win.

“So, how many colleges are you applying to?”

“I’ve got, uh, five applications —submitted but I’m not d-done yet.”

Blaine hoped his answer was good enough for Mr. Hummel. What if Kurt has applied to way more? Do I seem behind? I haven’t missed any deadlines.

“Is that, uh, a lot to apply to or… what’s the usual number?” Kurt’s usually confident father looked at Blaine with uncertainty in his eyes.

“Oh, I mean it, uh, it depends but I think like —five to eight is good.”

Burt fell into a plastic lawn chair and made a frustrated grunt. “I knew it!”

“Uh, you kn-knew what?”

“That Kurt doesn’t know any more about this than I do. I thought they had guidance—that’s what they’re called, right?— counselors at that school of yours. Aren’t they supposed to tell him this kind of stuff?”

“Um, they-they-they do, b-but no one has to talk to them. I...what do you m-mean he doesn’t know any more than, uh, y-you do?” Blaine asked, feeling deeply confused. Mr. Hummel was an adult, of course he knew more than them.

“Never went.”

“I...I ne-never realized. Not-not-not that it m-matters, of course!” Blaine felt his cheeks start to flush with embarrassment. Way to assume, Blaine!

“Got a job right out of high school, did the certification course at the junior college, and then I got real lucky that my boss decided to retire and wanted to pass on the business to someone he trusted. Can you do me a favor, kiddo?”

“Of course,” Blaine replied earnestly.

“Talk to Kurt about all this college stuff. He needs your help.”

“Um, o-okay.”

“Good.”

Blaine wasn’t sure how to bring up the topic without being heavy-handed but an opportunity presented itself to him just a few days later.

Kurt and Rachel strode into the cafeteria with their arms linked and matching smirks of self-satisfacts plastered across their faces; it was times like these that Blaine thought they could be siblings.

Blaine leaned in to accept the cheek kiss Kurt offered and then raised an expectant eyebrow, knowing that neither Kurt nor Rachel needed much prompting to spill when they were this excited.

Tina was not as patient. “Well?”

Kurt and Rachel turned to face one another before saying in unison, “We found our college!”

“It’s called NYADA,” Kurt added, face glowing with excitement. He pressed a colorful brochure into Blaine’s hands. “Please tell me you’ll apply too, Blaine!”

“Oh, I, uh… l-let me take a… look but, I mean, I p-p-p-probably, sure.” Blaine felt a bit flustered at being asked such a big question on the spot. Kurt’s gaze softened, clearly realizing what was happening and he gave Blaine’s thigh a comforting squeeze under the table.

“The deadline isn’t for another six weeks, so there’s plenty of time. Here, you hang on to this; I have more copies.”

That night, Blaine dutifully read through the brochure and researched the school online. His boyfriend, as always, had impeccable taste; it was clearly a top notch performing arts college. But the more he read, the more worried he became

He needed to talk to Kurt.

“Kurt, can we, um, um, well, can we talk about… about NYADA?”

“Sure! Did you read the flyer? Isn’t it just perfection?” Kurt clapped his hands against his thighs and bit his lip in excitement. Blaine swallowed thickly, thinking about how to do this without completely taking the wind out of Kurt’s sails.

“—Totally. The list of-of-of famous alumni alone was enough to, uh, convince me. Kurt, I would—I would love to go there.”

Kurt threw his arms around Blaine’s neck and kissed his cheek. “We’re going to New York! This is going to be perfect!”

“I, uh, I hhhope so. But Kurt… did you see that-that-that they only, uh, only accept 20 st-st-st-students a year? I… I think it would be a good… a good idea to have a backup, uh, plan.”

“You don’t think I’m good enough?” Kurt sounded hurt.

Blaine quickly leaned forward, gathering Kurt’s hands in his and drawing his gaze.

“No, no, sweetie, no, of-of course I do. But… e-e-everyone gets rejected from a-a-a-at least one or-or t-two colleges, Kurt. My…my father went to Harvard Law but even he didn’t get in everywhere.”

Kurt’s nose wrinkled in concern. “He didn’t?”

“He didn’t,” Blaine confirmed. "He was re-re-re—he didn’t get in to-to Colum-Columbia. And he got a-a-a-a-a perfect score on the SAT. He’s the one who —told me how important it is to-to-to apply to several schools, including a few ssssafety choices.”

Kurt sat back in stunned silence. “I thought the hard part was choosing the school… I had no idea. How many schools have you applied to so far, Blaine?” Panic was starting to creep into Kurt’s voice.

“Um, five so far.”

“So far?” Kurt’s voice cracked on the second word and he ran his fingers through his hard, something he only did when he was highly stressed. Blaine felt a sympathetic pang in his chest. “Well, which ones? Is it too late for me to apply to them too?”

“N-no, I don’t—I don’t th-th-think the deadline has-has-has —passed for any of them yet. I, um, let me think. I… applied to CUNY, NYU, Cornell, Northwestern, and-and-and Ohio State.”

“You want to go to Ohio State?” Kurt looked mildly scandalized.

“N-n-no.”

“Then why did you apply?” Kurt asked in befuddlement.

“It’s a-a-a…it’s —called a safety, um, school. It’s just in—just in c-c-c-case I don’t, I don’t get in anywhere, um, else. I’d r-r-rather go there than-than n-nowhere, you know? —Besides, my father said you-you-you-you can al-al-al-al-always transfer after a year.”

“Oh. Well, I guess there’s no harm in that.”

Well, that could have gone a lot worse. Blaine let out a contented sigh. He had managed to talk to Kurt about this delicate topic without embarrassing him.

“I, um, I-I-I can help you with the, uh, uh, um, the, uh, the research if you want.”

“That would be amazing, actually. I’m suddenly feeling very overwhelmed by this whole thing.”

“Happy to help. It is our fu-fu-future, after all. That’s always worth p-p-p-putting in a bit of work for.”

Kurt’s worried expression melted into a fond smile.

“Th-th-th-there’s this one program, actually—“

Suddenly, Blaine was flat on his back, looking up into Kurt’s mischievous eyes.

“Tomorrow, Blaine. We can start tomorrow. Tonight, I have other plans.”

Kurt didn't have to tell him twice.
