i am losing it the tiniest bit .

googling like "my mother treats me like a child" or wgatever just brings up like ppl talking abt their mothers not wanting them to grow up or not giving them enough freedom which is a valid problem and one i have but it is a completely different problem from the one im looking for information on which is that i am a 20 year old man and my mother babytalks at me like a four year old on a regular basis. its drivng me fucking crazy but i dont want to argue and she wouldnt listen anyway she'd probably just be like "i dont do that" which .okay. but like holy fucking shit it is SO annoying and demeaning and WEIRD.

and like i can handle it when she treats me like. a teenager. like whatever im 20 close enough i dont care. but when she treats me like im 10. or 7. or fucking 4. its like. what the fuck is your problem.

and like okay i was thinking abt this the other day bc i was talking 2 my dad like just hanging out and he was treating me like a Person and like. idk i feel like when he had kids he was Expecting and Excited for us to turn into little people with our own thoughts and free will (maybe not the transgender communist thing i think that was a bit far but he's always been supportive in terms of like. me being my own person otherwise).

and my dad volunteers at church with some of the kids like 9-12 age range, and a lot of them have rough home lives and 'act out' cuz of that and he's very patient with them and helps them with what theyre going thru and generally just acts like theyre little people. because they ARE little people. like he genuienly cares for those kids and is always like... taking them to the park and stuff but also like, being character witness for their parents' custody battles n shit like actually helping and suppotying them.

whereas my mother volunteers at church with babies and toddlers and its almost like she sees them as pets. and will complain abt them being annoying or MEAN if they cry or dont want to play with her. like she's nice to them but she will complain abt it as if theyre trying to spite her

and i feel like she didnt become a parent bc she wanted to raise a small human i feel like she just wanted a pet. and shes been better with my sister but when i was a kid the second i was like 6 and developed some free will she kinda like. Moved on from me LOL. and stopped caring abt me outside of like. buying food. wire mother type shit. idk it's just really obvious that my dad cares abt these kids as people but my mother cares abt them for only as long as they dont upset her or do something she doesnt want them to. if that makes sense

and idk its like. i am 20 years old. im not going to go back to a 4 year old with no sense of the world outside of u because I AM TWENTY YEARS OLD. I HAVE LIVED ALONE IN SCHOOL I HAVE GONE TO THE DMV I HAVE WORKED A JOB I HAVE DEALT WITH MEDICAL EMERGENCIES ON MY OWN . i have had to make my way through every single social problem and mental health problem and shit since i was SIX bc thats when she stopped giving a shit about me. im not a child anymore

but i think its also part of why im so fucking bad at Being An Adult. bc she never taught me how do to any of this shit bc she was busy pretending im still a little kid. and now im too anxious to figure out how to do things on my own and i dont know how to ask for help and everything is very overwhelming and she tells me she wants me to get a job but doesnt help and she acts like she wants me to leave but she doesnt tell me that or help me leave and i am SO FUCKING SICK of living at home but i dont have the money or the skills to get out

and she's NEVER helped me with adult stuff either . the only thing i can think of is when she took me to the bank bc i needed her signature to take her off my bank account . otherwise my dad has been the one to help me with college applications + college stuff in general + finances + jobs etc etc . whereas my mother ACTIVELY LIES TO ME ABOUT THOSE THINGS TO TRY TO STOP ME FROM GETTING MY OWN DEBIT CARD !!!!!!!!!!

and it's this fucking exhausting mix of signals where she's like "u need to get a job u need to learn to drive u need to do this and that" but also she Literally , not exageratting , treats and talks to me like i am a child . i am so fucking sick of it it's unreal . i am going to lose my fucking mind .

trigun stampede ep1 thoughts

cant say i like it opening right away w space, but that might be bc im biased from the anime. i liked the anime's approach a lot more than the manga's, honestly. especially not just space, but the whole seeds thing too shouldnt have been shown as the first thing

i am really not a fan of the designs of... most things in the ep lol. i've got a bone to pick w the designers for this series

the first scene was v out of context so i wont pick that apart

wish meryl didnt look 10 years old, but at least she doesnt sound 10. that was a criticism i had abt milly in the 90s anime

still upset abt the roberto guy, i guess they could change my mind but so far hes :/

i like the bits with the wildlife

im not bothered by meryl's occupation change (as a journlist only i mean), it doesnt really matter to me imo

not to have nostalgia glasses on, but i miss vash's old voice. i hear this one and im like oh this is sword art online boy/teru mp100 and i dont think i like that guy's voice anyway

again with a design thing, idk how i feel abt vash having "lost technology" so present. i made a post abt this way back, but maybe they change smth (but also they cant exactly justify the whole modern jp fashion thing in futuristic sci-fi space setting either so i wonder if theyll even attempt to explain this)

i like the bit abt vash interfering w plant stuff being added as a crime. i feel like in the original anime his bounty was iconic, but in that and the manga idk why it was even there, except to establish his contrasting pacifist nature against ppl that want the reward for his capture.

it also showing mps is a bit more interesting when the manga kinda felt like it pulled order/gov out of nowhere (before knives did his best to kill everyone, mostly getting rid of that)

im surprised nightow's never attempted to show a map of the planet before. but idk shit abt maps so i cant make any statements abt this one

i love seeing a town defend vash immediately 🥺 technically i dont think its good for new audiences, (it shows hes not some monstrous villain, but not how he couldve gotten his rep, while before it was clearly the destruction caused from other ppl going after him, and him accepting the blame) but i'll pretend that what happened to him here happened at the end of the manga instead

on the baby boy issue... its cause i honestly am kinda dumb, like i cant count, im dyslexic, i understand things slowly, im an air head. and im kinda childish and not very serious at all. very shrug what can you do type. i dont like responsability and wing everything. and im very effeminate so my partners tend to go with that kind of vocabulary for me.

he's only two years older than todd, a freshman in college when todd starts at welton, and they've always gotten along well, and talking has always come easy

this talking def includes complaining about their parents. jeff has never liked the way ppl compare todd to him, the way his parents are awfully neglectful, and he's always done his best to make this known

jeff teaches todd card games on rainy days. i think ive said this one before and yes its simple but its very Near and Dear to me

todd likes 2 draw. he insists sports should be left up to jeff and that he wants to be left alone to read and draw and such, but eventually good brother todd anderson caves and lets jeff drag him outside to learn soccer

which. he does end up enjoying. bc jeff is all nice about it and insistent on getting him to have fun!!

and now hes good at soccer. good for him

jeff has always been like that; encouraging him to try new things, but never forcing it

he's always been fine with todd's shyness, taking it in stride when todd asks if he can order food for him, or come with him to talk to a teacher. and he never minds when todd isnt in the mood to talk, content to listen to jeff or just exist together, hanging out in one of their rooms to study, read, draw, or do whatever else kids did back then

jeff is the first person todd ever comes out to

its the summer before 10th grade and he disappeared with a boy during a party he got jeff to take him to. on the drive back jeff asks him abt it, prefacing by saying hes not gonna judge or tell anyone, he just wants to know his little brother is being safe. now which was it. drugs or sex. no one looks as flushed as u do if it was nothing. and todd laughs, saying it was neither, really, he kissed me and we talked

after that jeff loves to tease him about boys whenever he gets the chance, and todd returns the favor, teasing him abt girls and boys, bc hes the one that goes to an all boys school, so.. like.. and jeff always jsut... Shrugs....

that aside

when jeff was at welton and todd was at balincrest, jeff always looked forward to the days he could see todd, and in the meantime they wrote often, even if they didnt have much to say

sometimes todd just sends him lil drawings he's made or a nice quote from a book he's reading :-)

alright now time 4 post-canon

todd starting at welton and jeff starting at college made them both pretty busy, they didnt rly get a chance to write much the first few months

sidenote; neil had always been on jeff's radar. they were the same, in a lot of ways; popular golden kid praised for being at the top of his class, maybe they had a couple extracurriculars together

canon compliant;

when jeff comes home for winter break, he can immediately tell something is wrong. sure, todd is a quiet kid, but never like this. conversation is stilted and, eventually, todd quietly leaves when his father asks him about exams. nobody makes a scene, and still neither of his parents will tell him anything, so jeff leaves, too, and knocks on todd's door softly

todd lets him in, and catches him up on ... everything. he must be in shock, at this point, cause it all comes out calm, distant. its not til he admits he loved neil that his voice catches

good brother jeffrey anderson is one thing todd has over neil. someone to confide in at home, someone to tell him he'd make just as big of an awful impact neil did if he were to do something reckless, regardless of the fact he was never anything like neil, never anything like jeff

at this point, jeff is only 20. he's practically a kid himself, reeling from shock over the neglect of his parents, no clue how to deal with this kind of thing, but he does his best, and that seems to be good enough

alright. that's enough of that time for happy canon divergence

the first day of winter break, todd is uncharacteristically giddy, more than happy to answer their dad's questions about how the school year's gone. after dinner he finally gets the chance to drag jeff away, tell him he has a boyfriend now, neil perry, you remember him?? and jeff, ofc, is very very happy for him, and loves how excited todd is to catch him up on the past few months, proud to hear how he's come out of his shell and gotten into writing and stuff :))

after winter break they do get into writing to each other again, and jeff loves the casual updates of how neil's doing, too

in both universes he's more than supportive of todd thru his senior year and dreams of being a writer. in a world where neil lives, he takes him under his wing, too, starts writing to him almost as much as todd and is eager to hear about acting, loves going to his shows whenever he can. and he def doesnt cry when, a few years after college, neil and todd are still living together and he gets invited to their wedding, of sorts. more just an opportunity to talk about how much they love each other all dressed up with their closest friends, but, whatever.

he has a small sweet spot for you as you’re not as annoying as “dunce face” and “that half and half bastard” (who also cannot cook) so getting him to do it isn’t usually that hard

shoji is always silently thankful and bakugou appreciates it

now sir gets kinda mentally tired a lot

the majority of the school is really loud and it’s tends to drain his social battery

he never lashes out at anyone though, especially not you

The only part of school i completely hate rn. anyways im a senior and theyre the same grade as me and they act literally the exact same as her freshman year... pansexual theatre kid who WILL sing loudly in public and acts like shes in charge of EVERYTHING when they arent even like. A teachers assistant just a student. They never get lead roles in theatre (bc they. arent a great actor or singer or dancer or anything???) Like theyre... fine at some things but they project their voice ALL THE TIME for no reason and interupt students and teachers contantly to correct them and theyre barely right (AND NOT IN CHARGE? THEY HAVE NO AUTHORITY?) and like. Ugh theyre annoying in general and theyre Christian (which isnt inherently bad but most of the school is lgbt in some way and a loooot of people are uncomfortable with christians especially when you start reciting??? Bible passages???????) Anyways theyre kind of a dick about it and she gets suuuuper hissy when someone asks her to not project her voice across the whole classroom while talking abt christian shit and they genuinely act like some gay high schoolers not liking christianity makes the religion unpopular and controversial and like. shes never said it directly but she acts like shes oppressed for talking abt the bible. the other day she called the old or new testament "too pc" like bruhhhhh it was written so fucking long ago and anyone saying "pc" is a red flag for me. oh and this isnt like the worst things btw. i just kind of live with them but not for any special reason, like im not training or anything. im kind of like nya in that im just vibing there except i dont have the excuse of a brother training all the time and also living there

honestly i think i'd be there before anyone else FHGJHDGJHF like i just went on a hike up the mountain someday but because im not very good at physical tasks i probably just ended up lying down on the ground for a while until sensei wu found me

he'd bring me to the monastery (was it a monastery,,,,, i dont remember,,,,,,,) and let me rest there for the night but then i just never left

a father-aged man was nice to me ONE (1) time i decided to never leave him

i think i play moral support through most of the first two or three seasons. i imagine i actually started like. TRAINING in between seasons 2 and 3 but im definitely still not a fighter, i can really only do basic self defense

i help out where i can, but im definitely still pretty useless when it comes to battle. im like a,,, weird seventh arm that doesnt rlly do much and sometimes just kind of gets in the way HFGJHFGJHDGJ

i either have to stay back at homebase while the ninja go out and do stuff or im just sort of There in the background doing my best

so im definitely much more of a person whos most helpful on a mental battlefield rather than a physical one, at least when it comes to other peoples struggles

im like,,, sort of vaguely everyones therapist FHGHHFHG

like i just listen to them talk about whatever and do my best to give advice and epic wisdoms.

im a bit. aggressive. sometimes when it comes to helping others. like even when its not with emotional struggles or even a struggle at all i will literally do everything to help u no matter how much it inconveniences myself. like if u ask me to get u a glass of water bc ur thirsty i will bring u back a bucket like "i got u bestie >:3"

theres definitely been multiple times where the boys complain about like, not wanting to do their chores or something and i just go "DONT WORRY >:D I'LL HANDLE IT." "wait no thats not-" and then ive done all their chores for them in like two seconds

season 3 for me is definitely like. Oh Boy. i am juggling everybodys problems for them at once and im falling apart. like im trying to listen to love triangle problems and then im helping zane and then im trying to help stop the overlord and there is SO MUCH GOING ON

after the s3 finale i think i just sort of. check out. like i just got too overwhelmed by everything, and after the last battle with the overlord i just wasnt back to normal until season 4. like only half of me was around and the other half was lying in a muddy puddle in the corner

but dont worry i get back to normal <3

i think id be a pretty big help during s4 and 5 actually. i get a lot more directly involved in the action, because there are specific people who i care deeply for who need help and being able to be with my friends is the whole reason i even wake up in the morning

mido kinda protests at first bc he doesnt want to make it a big deal and also what if it’s not any better in another school but inko is determined to try and help him so mido lets her

SOO soumei is a fancy private school but im sure if u can pass the entrance exam with a certain score or higher u can get a scholarship which mido succeeds in doing bc he’s a smart lil bean

anyway so he comes as like a resident nerd bc he’s gotten the highest score in like years. and iida as we all know is always striving for academic excellence so when they end up in the same class he introduces himself RIGHT away like “HELLO!!! I AM IIDA TENYA!!! IT’S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOUR ACQUAINTANCE” mido screams but it’s okay iida apologizes nd mido is like “no its all good u just startled me is all” we love them

ANYWAY so iida invites him to sit w him during lunch nd like ppl r friendly towards iida but theyre not rlly friends w him?? not like super close bc he’s well Iida but also ppl r intimidated cause iida fam stuff

but mido has stars in his eyes and he thinks iida is so cool and iida is so flustered nd flattered HHH babies,,

so they become quick friends nd mido ends the first school week without anyone even asking abt his quirk bc theyre so interested in his nerdiness instead!!! so he’s a lot happier

it does come out tho eventually probably when a teacher implies smth or mido says smth self-deprecating but u know same result. ppl are still nice to mido to his surprise but they treat him like glass which he gets fed up w p quick but he’d rather this than the outright hostility

iida is still his friend tho and he still likes mido and mido is like “ok. ur my favorite person in the whole world.” and like all might is still his favorite but iida is becoming his real hero AH

mido is kinda nervous abt talking abt his dreams to be a hero but iida can just tell like from the way mido talks to him abt any and all things heroes nd how he analyzes quirks iida just knows,,and one day iida is like “u know midoriya-kun i think you’re gonna be a great hero. have u decided which hero school u wanna go to yet?” cause they were talking abt high schools before lunch started

mido YELLS but also hes so flustered bro literally doesnt know how to respond for a solid five minutes he’s just red-faced and like giddy but also like “WAHH WHERE DID THAT COME FROM IIDA-KUN” “DID I SAY SOMETHING WRONG??” “NO I- I APPRECIATE IT IM JUST- AHH” they scream. but eventually mido calms down enough to tell him ua and iida is like “OH ME TOO!!!! we can train together!!!” mido is fucking floored

anyway then like u said iida is always talking up a storm abt mido and how he admires him and thinks he’s so cool nd when iida mentions mido is gonna apply to ua, aizawa is like “oh worm?”

aizawa finds mido and after mido finishes screaming hes like “i can help train u kiddo” “AHHH- but wait im gonna train with my friend iida” “i know him he can come too” “AHHHHH” PLEASE BRO IM CRYING,,,

obv throughout all this iida and mido are pining so hard. so fucking hard it’s like painful almost but BRo. aizawa gets to deal with these fucking middle-almost-high-schoolers pussyfooting around each other and blushing at literally everything the other does and hes like “oh my god.”

HHH BUT JUST,,,THEY MAKE IT THROUGH THE ENTRANCE EXAM TOGETHER,,,IIDA GOES W MIDO TO HELP SAVE URARAKA FROM THE ZERO POINTER AND BOTH GET RESCUE POINTS THAT WAY,,,PLEASE

they have a sleepover when the results come in and both r just so excited and so happy. they stay up SO late and mido mightve kissed iida in a sleep-deprived haze but no one’s complaining

they dont rlly TALK about it tho so theyre like dating but not officially and uraraka nd tsu have to say smth like a quarter into their first year like “u guys r so close how long have u been dating” “WE’RE NOT DATING??” “midoriya you literally kissed iida good morning” “THATS JUST WHAT BROS DO?” “midoriya. no. thats kinda gay.”

So many people complain about Peter... How John is more romantic etc

Well... listen...

I read once that EVERY person see you differently.. even yourself, you know yourself as totally different person than others see in you...

So even though John was complaining about Peter, it's how he see him, LJ never noticed this things before he pointed them out coz they never bothered her before... because she know Peter in her own way, totally difrent way than John.. also John havent been around for 5 years and coming back complaining abt 11yo Peter liking food.. have you seen size of this boy? Obviously he eats alot... not a big deal in my opinion..

Pizza rules, whoever take last pice its theirs... simple.. how can u get all emotional and angry about this...

Other thing, people are like John is romantic etc etc.. he is also focused at himself around LJ, he likes LJ coz he have good memories around her, coz he feels good with her, feels good about himself.... it's more about him than LJ... Peter it's all for her.. all his focus is on making sure LJ is happy, he didint order the song on Vday coz he knew exactly LJ doesnt like to be in centre if attention... trip to fair park was very romantic in my opinion, they had fun that's important..

And he came to pick her coz he remembered she doesnt like driving in snow, even though they broken up... he is there for her.. he is a good person... hence why when Gen asked for support he was there for her.. and tbh LJ took her time to tell Peter that John is volunteering with her... works both ways..

I am.in a relationship where my partner doesnt really do any romantic stuff... hes down to earth.. I even herd people saying they are shocked km with him coz hes rude.. thing is.. I see him my own way, for me he is the best, i love him and I know he loves me, we are happy together for like 10years now...

We have our fights, we have our differences but I would not change a thing coz he is the one! Dont care that others doesnt like him, so what, theres anyways going to be people disliking others.. cant control that, but what i can control is my approach on life.. I decided to be happy with him and I am for 10 years now! If I listened to people, to my sister who said it wont last, to his ex who claimed he put her in depression I would missed the opportunity to know him my way, and in my eyes he is awesome! He is good, he is caring, hard working, funny and sexy.. he makes me feel good with myself and that's important..

So stop judging and saying Peter isnt worthy coz he is! He is made for LJ!

i DO have tips 🚶‍♀️ the past few yrs have been me learning how to stop too

-firstly nd maybe most importantly just make everyone respect your time? i used to make myself available for my friends 24/7 nd that was a bad idea bc if i didnt answer a text abt how they were sad instantly they would get mad at me so what i learned to do was tell everyone that i put my phone on do not disturb at a certain time so if i dont respond im getting ready for bed OR if i was busy/not in the right head space i would text back nd tell them i see their messages but im busy so ill get back to u in a second

-stop giving advice all the time. as the mom(tm) friend u want to dive in nd give advice or fix stuff but we gotta stop trying to fix EVERYTHING! what i do is i ask my friends if they just want to vent or if they want advice. nd if i feel like something is way beyond me i say ‘im not comfortable trying to give advice on this may i suggest talking to x,y,z’. i feel like showing ppl that u dont have all the answers would help make them realize youre not a mom or a therapist you're just a FRIEND

-have a threshold of caring. this doesnt happen often but ik everyone has that one friend that complains nd complains nd doesn’t want to get better they just want to complain until someone else fixes their shit. well what i do is after it becomes clear that they don’t want to fix a situation i tell them straight up that im only gonna listen to them drag everyone down w their issues WE’VE ALREADY TALKED ABT 3 more times. i have a close friend nd he hates his job w his dad so much but he’s not even TRYING to look for a new job nd after a yr of complaining there’s nothing i can do but tell him straight up that he’s stagnating nd there’s no more advice or help i can offer. its on him. u dont need to rude abt it ofc just be very honest. tell them u there’s nothing anyone can say/do until THEYRE ready to change. if they get mad at you even if ure nice abt it that’s a sign that theyre not a good friend tbh

-nd lastly. this is something i JUST learned how to be honest enough to do but just tell ur friends how u feel! if u have friends that care abt u they’ll understand when u tell them that ure overwhelmed with your own feelings/life so that u can’t always be there for every small thing going on in their lives nd that u might answer messages slowly/not be able to hang out to listen to them complain all the time/etc BC u need to worry abt u! nd again there’s a very sincere nd nice way to say this obvs lmao nd if ur friends have an issue w you taking time for yourself then again they aint shit!

-basically try to open up an honest conversation w your friends? i find that the main reason we get stuck as the therapist friend is that we’d rather keep our problems to ourselves nd ppl see that as a sign that we have everything together when we don’t nd then WE feed off of helping others bc it makes us feel accomplished nd wanted when u shouldnt have to bear the burdens of everyone else to be a part of a friendship. relationships should be mutual giving nd taking! learning to be more vulnerable should make others see u as human nd u deserve to be able to ask for help from others :) i hope this helped im on this journey w u too anon pls know ure not alone 💖
